Colored Pencils - colored pencils, mechanical pencil
It also comes with a regular piece of lead which is very convenient. I wish the lead came out more fine instead of following the paper texture so much. This is a great pencil and the thickness isn't all that bad. It seems the lead shouldn't break as easily as small lead would. Not the best for shading so would not be suggested over good colored pencils but for block shading it's fine. The texture even on regular printer paper can be described as grainy so if you want it to be precise and to be viewed close up then it may be somewhat troublesome. The colored leads don't have the same strength and color depth as the charcoal one that comes in the mechanical pencil, but how cool is to be able to change colors? besides you can just get new better leads. You will lose the cap and eraser soon if you're not careful, it slides off easily even when kept in a pencil case, so keep an eye on it. It's a good product if you conside the price(2.49). Good purchase
The pencil itself is designed and built really well for the cheap piece of plastic that it is. The action is good and I doubt it will break any time soon simply because the lead and mechanism are so big. The eraser holder/tube stopper has a built in sharpener, which is a great touch, even though you've got to be careful with it so you don't snap the tip off the lead. The eraser is small and its cover will probably get lost soon. The colored leads are light - it's hard to get deep color on the page with most of them. Overall it's neat and a pretty good value for two fifty.
Plastic pencil that it comes with is flimsy and doesn't hold the lead. Lead breaks EVERY time, EVERY color. Some leads don't even work in the pencil-fall through or wont click through (too big). Lead draws on paper so light and weak it's nearly imperceptible, plus, so fat you can't use it for writing. Total waste. Used one lead for two words and it's already 1 inch long due to breaking over and over.
I absolutely love my Pentel PENPH158 8-Color Highlighter, but the refills cost nearly as much as buying an entire new highlighter. I've been using these as refills instead, and they've worked great. Good for use on thin paper (like Scriptures) or on thicker paper. And super cheap--MUCH better than buying from Pentel!
I bought this product for drawing math diagrams because it was cheap and I thought convenient. It is however, kind of a pain to switch between colors and I've used it enough in a week that the spring is starting to wear out, so sometimes the lead does not push down on the first try. Also, the pencils erase no better that regular colored pencils, which is mostly what I was interested in, and I assumed they would erase because it the pencil came with an eraser.
It's a nice concept, there is a serious lack of colored mechanical pencils out there and I assume a decent demand. The product design would be better if you could put all the lead barrels into a pencil and switch between the colors on the pencil rather than by taking the lead out and putting a new one in, like those multi-color pens where you can choose a color by clicking a lever on the pen. The other option I would prefer is having multiple pencils, just so i don't constantly have to change, but that's a different product altogether.
The service was good though. - Colored Pencils - Color - Mechanical Pencil - Mechanical'
