Iphone Car Mount - ipod accessories, mounting kits

The product does what it says, and I've been using it daily for weeks now. It leaves a bit to be desired for a top-notch Griffin product, though. The flexible neck is a bit TOO flexible; it sways and moves when going around some corners, requiring readjustment. The cradle itself is sturdy, but the backing is very flimsy and comes with a poorly-constructed screw adjustment mechanism which hasn't worked well for me yet. I screwed it all the way in to have the iPhone seated as tightly as possible in the cradle, and it seems to be working for now. The neck isn't as long as I'd like, but it's not a big issue. With these minor improvements I'd definitely rate it a 5-star product, but as it stands I'll keep it at a comfortable three. It serves its purpose. Griffin GC17093 TuneFlex AUX Hands-free for iPhone and iPod

Finally jumped on the iPhone wagon, so I wanted to be able to use it in the car for navigation, iPod, Pandora, etc. I have a similar Griffin aux mount for my prior iPod, and like it a lot. The only thing it can't do is turn sideways 90 degrees. This mount can do that plus had the benefit of being able to talk hands-free with the built-in mic.

Unfortunately, the gooseneck is too flexible, meaning it drifts away from where you set it. Additionally, the side grips are not specific to the iPhone4, so it's far too "open" which might be nice if you have a thicker phone. The screw adjustment doesn't seem to be aligned properly, pushing the phone at an angle. Last issue for me was that my Aux port is in the center console armrest, and the cord was far too short. That killed any hope of keeping it, so it was returned.

Love the idea, hate the execution. Griffin makes good products, so I don't understand why this one was mis-engineered.

After using this product for a few weeks I believe that it has pros and cons. To me the pros out weight the cons for my useage. Some of the pros is that it charges my iphone the whole time I am in the vechile and listening to music. This way my phone does not die on the way to my destination, instead it is usually fully charged. In my car this stand creates a perfect viewing angle for the phone and that allows me easily change the music I am listening to or look at messages that come in. The stand does keep it fairly in place, there is a little bit of wobble but nothing severe. Even driving on rough roads did nothing to it but a little shaking. This is not too big of a deal for me. Now one of the down sides that really gets to me is the horrible call quality when using it. For my end I have to turn my stereo way up to hear the other person, which is not a big deal until my music kicks back in after hanging up which it super loud. On the other ends everyone has told me how bad of an echo they get from the microphone picking up my stereo. Everyone gets mad and does not want to talk long when having themselves echoing really bad. That is about the only downside. One more thing, I have an otterbox commuter case on my iphone and it does fit perfectly into the holder. It is a little hard at first because of the rubber part, but it does work.

Incredibly bad design and construction. The leverage on the connection at the power plug and arm is huge... and the mechanical parts are made of plastic. It was already cracked when I opened the box, and on inspection I cannot imagine that an engineer would have designed and built this very poorly constructed product. Not worth 5 bucks let alone the 49.99 it sells for at my local retailer. I would give it zero stars if this website would accept that....

Mike

The Arm on this goes limp frequently when driving around corners.

This realy is one of the worst phone mounts I have ever used.

Also as stated in another review, the adapter does not fit snug in the power outlet.

I actually used a few wraps of electrical tape to fill the gap.

I would never recommend the Griffin TuneFlex AUX Hands-free to anyone.

I've been looking for the perfect unit to hold my iPhone, send audio signal to my car stereo, allow me talk hands-free, all while charging it. On paper, the Griffin Tuneflex Hands Free unit does just that. In reality it doesn't work as good as it should. The cigarette lighter power port fit snugly into the lighter socket and the flexible neck was reasonably stiff and held it's shape well, but the swivel phone holder wouldn't stay in a horizontal position. It held it's vertical position well though. The hands free microphone worked well, with some of my friends on the other end of the line saying that they could hear me clearly but the volume wa a bit soft, as if I was a distance away from the mic. I was pleasanly surprised that there was little to no noise/interference while listening to the music through the aux cable. It's by far the best cigarette lighter powered unit that I've listened to in terms of interference or noise. There is one huge drawback though, and that is that the aux cable, for some unknown reason, did not carry any bass (low frequencies) to my car stereo. Other aux cables did not have this problem, so I have to assume it's related to the Griffin unit. Not sure why it does that. Overall, the Giffin unit means well and is functional, but it doesn't quite live up to expectations, and at the price in most retail stores, I expect it to do everything I want. I'll keep looking. - Mounting Kits - Car Mount - Iphone Car Mount - Ipod Accessories'

Ipod Touch Case With Magnetic Catch - ipod touch 2g case, ipod accessories

I was absolutely happy with this purchase. After much researching of the different cases for the Ipod touch gen 2, I decided on this. This is a great value and very high quality. Because of its padding, I know that my Ipod is well protected. All buttons and cable can easily be accessed even while in the case. To me this is a no brainer compared to those "gel/silicone" cases or other types. I like the magnetic closure because I can wrap the earbud wire around the ipod and then close the case keeping the wire intact. Premium Black Folio Wallet Leather Case for Apple Ipod Touch Itouch 8Gb 16GB ...

This items falls into the 'get what you paid for' category. I agree with the reviewer who said it had an odd smell, and with my iPod Touch 2G in the case, the clasp doesn't reach far enough to engage the magnet. (I see from other reviews that other people didn't have this problem; I suspect it's a quality control issue and I just got unlucky.)

However, it offers great protection for my Touch, and a piece of velcro fixed the clasp problem. I feel much better throwing the Touch into my purse with this case on it than with the metal case I had before that exposed the face. It's also more substantial this way, and less likely to get lost. (I've already thrown the Touch into the trash by accident once with the metal case on.)

Also, I use my Touch to read ebooks, and it's much easier to hold the Touch in this fold-out case while I'm reading.

So I do recommend this product, for the price.

When I decided to buy this product, there was only 1 review and it was a bad one. I decided to buy it anyway and I'm glad I did. I haven't experienced any problems with the product. I prefer the idea of a magnetic closure over a velcro type. The iPod Touch 2nd G looks really good in it, and with a little plastic screen protector (which you have to buy separately), my new toy is super extra big-time safe from all the sharp & pokey things in my purse or pockets. It's not that expensive, so why not try it? That's what I thought anyway, and once again, I'm glad I did.

I've searched several websites and stores for my Ipod touch 2nd generation. Most of them are for 1st generation. Fortunately, I found this leather case. My Ipod touch fits tightly into this fine leather case. The side openings are perfectly designed for the side buttons and connections. The magnet stands on the spot without any effort. I highly recommend it because of its cheap price, good quality and good design.

I just got a iPod Touch 4G (8GB) and this Leather case. If you are considering this case for your 4G model, STOP, this leather case is not designed for it.

The case is good for storing the iPod (4G) and nothing else.

- Its hard to reach the power button

- The case does not grip the Ipod - its a slide in from the left

- The Ipod 4G is thinner than the previous versions and constantly slides in this case

- Hard to control when driving - The flap gets in the way

- There is no provision for the rear camera

and more...

Not worth spending on this case if you plan on carrying the case with you and actively using it..

Received product in a timly manner. Looks good and feels good. Real problem with the magnetic clasp. Everytime I put the Touch into the case it drains the battery over a short period of time. I believe its due to the magnet which is located direcly behind the iPod. Would show caution if purchasing.

Port Charlotte, FL

This case is pretty dang good for the price. It surely isn't the best one ever, but it's a bang for your buck. The leather is good quality. Nice and smooth while not being too soft so it could protect your ipod nicely. The ipod fits nicely in the case. Although sometimes it moves a little and the leather around the screen gets in the way. That isn't a big issue and you'll get used to it. Using the volume buttons on the side is a little difficult to use and takes some getting used to. You should expect that though since your buying this type of leather case. Using the hold button is the most difficult thing to do and is pretty much the worst part about this case. The magnet isn't the strongest one. It feels like it's really easy to undo. Too easy. This isn't a big issue either, just a little con. There isn't really much to say bad about this case considering it was $8 including shipping.

By the way, the issue about the smell I guess only happens to some cases. I can only smell it when I put my nose up to it. It doesn't smell that great. Smells like the garden section of Wal-Mart.

Overall, I recommend this case. Really good value for a very good price.

Pros:

Good Leather

Accessability to most buttons and inputs

Protects iPod

Very Good Price

Cons:

Hold button is too hard to use

Leather around screen might get in the way sometimes

Beaware that this DOES NOT work with the I-Touch 4th G Ipod. The Amazon description clearly indicates it won't work with the 1st but doesn't mention the 4th G. By omission one would expect it to work on 4th G. You can not turn on the unit, use the rear camera or easily get to the keypad with this. Too bad as it is very well designed and is of quality materials but if you want to carry water you can't use a funnel no matter how well the funnel is made. Product simply not any good for the 4th G. Save your time, money and aggravation and find another product.

Product was to big (roomy) for the Itouch. It made use difficult and I ended up taking my Itouch out of case (unprotected) for use and only storing Itouch in this case when not in use. The holes for recharging and turning on where not alligned correctly for the Itouch. It was so frustrating I returned it! - Ipod Touch 3g Case - Ipod Touch 2g Case - Ipod Accessories - Ipod Touch'

Digital Camera Memory - sandisk, digital camera memory

Standard SD and SDHC cards look identical in size and shape, only SDHC-compatible products will be able to accept the new SDHC cards. SanDisk differentiates its new cards with the new SDHC logo on the card and retail package.

Now my web research finds that at the time of its release Wes Brewer, vice president of consumer product marketing at SanDisk, said, "In order to provide the easiest and most compatible solution for 4GB and larger capacity SDHC cards in the market, SanDisk chose to bundle its new MicroMate USB 2.0 SD/SDHC compatible card reader, which normally retails for $19.99, with this new card."

Note this deal does not include a reader.

In my case the device I bought it for can read it. Without the dedicated reader my year old HP computer cannot . Sandisk 4GB Secure Digital SD HC Memory Card (SDSDB-4096, BULK, No Reader)

This is a must for loading music to listen to on my Palm TX. But BEWARE of eek Technoligies and buying at this price. They wanted $13.20 for shipping a 2 oz memory card? Buy from someone else even if it is a few dollars more and pay reasonable shipping rates. Don't be fooled by their cheap price they make it up 2x in shippoing charges. When I saw it I cancelled my order..

I played around with the prices on this and found out several things. If I order this item, $11 in shipping costs is added by the third party supplier! If I get the 2G version, even two of them, those qualify for free shipping from Amazon and come out much cheaper. So check your prices on these before ordering. My hunch is that you can probably pick this 4G up cheaper at your local electronics/computer store...

It's nice to have 4GB in your camera and be able to take pictures at max resolution and not have to worry about running out of space. I've been using SanDisk cards for 6 years now and never had a single problem. Be warned however, if you have a somewhat older digital camera, it may not recognize a card of this size and the card will be useless. I don't know why they don't mention this in the product spec, hence the 4 stars. Check your camera's user manual for max memory capabilities, if any.

I purchased this card five months ago and used it without incident. I was happy with the amount of space on the card. Suddenly today, for no apparent reason, a message came up saying "memory card error". I cannot access the photos on my card with my external card reader. I cannot use the card in my camera. The photos on the card are lost, and that makes me quite sad.

Finding that this product does not work in my one year old Canon camera I contacted the company and was given a list of cameras which do support it. This list belongs on the product description at the Amazon site. Besides the nuisance, I'll be out the $4.50 shipping cost for shipping an item requiring .59 cents postage.

The Sandisk site says this disk is compatible, and the user manual for the Canon Powershot 590IS says the camera can use SD or SDHC memory cards, so I assumed this card would be compatible. It wasn't. The camera says "memory card locked!" even when the card is unlocked. I'm giving this a one star rating because everything I looked at says this card is compatible, but it wasn't. For the Sandisk compatiblity site (which, of course, recommends their most expensive 32 and 16G cards first), see http://www.sandisk.com/Compatibility/Device(8725)-Canon-PowerShot_A590_IS.aspx . I haven't found a site so far that specifically recommends one card over another for this model of camera.

BAIT AND SWITCH ALERT! I ordered traditional blue normal San Disk 4 gb disks as advertised here for christmas gifts like digital cameras and to use myself with my camera. As of ten minutes ago, the ABX Protech listing (here at amazon.com) displayed the blue san disk memory card that I always buy from Best Buy, which is not a bulk item, and comes with a usb and reader. However that is not what this company sent. ABX ProTech pulled a bait and switch, shipping an entirely different product, that does not work with my digital items.

BEWARE! If you order this, you will not get the Traditional Blue San Disk memory card that they advertise and what they send will not work with your regular electronic devices.

Particularly problematic is that the ad- which was up until a moment ago when I complained- showed the standard blue memory card, and now they have changed it. Luckily I printed copies of my order and took a print screen image of their ad from today showing how they advertise one item and shipped another.

Even more shady, there was no packing slip or invoice in the package and they charged enormous shipping fees ($15.00) for a tiny envelope package weighing less than 2 ounces that they mailed first class.

I have requested a full refund- including shipping and handling, but have not heard back. ABX Protech has a very restrictive and laborious refund policy under which you may not ship anything back until you receive a "return" number from them.

Avoid ABX protech at ALL COSTS! - Sandisk - Memory Card - Sandisk 4gb - Digital Camera Memory'

Wrist Strap - wrist strap, weight training

I initially bought the Gold's Gym wrist wrap gloves at a local store and though it provided good wrist support (I have tendonitis in my wrist), the palmar aspect of the gloves provided no protection against friction and subsequent callous formation. I saw the great reviews on this item and took a leap of faith and bought this pair online. I did buy one size larger as was recommended by other users.

I am very satisfied by both the wrist support it provides and the cushioning that protects my hands. No more callous formation or painful friction when I lift. Would highly recommend these gloves. Valeo Ocelot Wrist Wrap Glove, Black, X-large

Gloves shipped quickly and are as described . They are an asset when lifting weights. They are soft and provide good padding. I ordered a size larger (XL) than the chart suggested and they fit correctly. Overall a great product.

After four decades of working out, I feel qualified to recommend gloves that are best to use in the gym. Ocelot with wrist straps not only provide adequate protection to the palm but the wrist is protected and your lifts are improved because of the comfort and confidence.

After using nike lifting gloves for over 5 years, I decided to switch brands and valeo caught my eye. After reading many reviews on this product I decided to give it a try. I have used these gloves for about 2 months and they have been perfect so far. The gloves have a nice all around leather feel to them so they are soft and flexible on the hands when you are doing various work outs, and what I really like are the wrist straps that I am able to wrap around my wrists that help lock them in place (I've injured my wrist in the past so the wrist straps I look for are of high priority). I will check back after a few more months but these gloves are holding up very well and I lift about 4-5 days out of the week. - Wrist Strap - Weight Training'

Snow Blower - snow blower, low cost

I just cleared 14" of snow off my driveway and used nothing but this machine. It is fabulous. I know the manual says it can handle up to 6" of snow but believe me this thing handled this last snowstorm without any trouble. Granted I only took 1/2 swaths but still it handled it beautifully. It even handled the stuff that got plowed into the end of my driveway from the road. This Snowfox really does shoot the snow at least 25 feet except when you have the chute turned left or right, then it shoots about 5-8' tops.

I would highly recommend this machine for anyone. Yard Machines 31C-040-800 Snow Fox 12.5-Inch 8.5 Amp Electric Snow Thrower

I have a short driveway and about 60 feet of sidewalk, so i couldn't justify spending $600 or more on a gas-driven beast of a snowblower. I got this machine after our first snow in late December. Since the east coast has been hogging all the snow this winter, I hadn't had a chance to use it here in South Dakota (usually the harsh winter capital of the nation) until mid-February. Now that I have, though, I'm very pleased.

As mentioned by others, throwing snow to the side only moves it about six feet. This worked fine for my sidewalks (the 12-inch cut let me get the whole sidewalk in three furrows, which took about five minutes).

A pointer for anyone clearing a small amount of snow: I worked out a decent system for the driveway where i start down the middle and throw snow a few feet to each side as I work my way to the edges. By the time I get to the edges, I'm throwing the accumulated pile off onto the grass. This clears the driveway rather well, though obviously it wouldn't be as useful in 20 to 30 inches of snow as some other people have seen this winter.

Power cord management is the only real downside to this device. I find myself spending a pretty good amount of time tossing the cord out of my way as i go and down the driveway. It's a minor annoyance that i still hope to find a solution for.

In all, i can now clear my drive and sidewalk in 20 minutes or so rather than the 45 to 60 minutes it took me by shovel. it also fits neatly in my crowded garage. A great little product.

I bought this back in Aug 2004 and it patiently waited in my garage... today, in the northeast, we are getting 20" or so... I didn't wait - when 6" was on the ground I went out and used this machine for the first time. I figured out within 10 mins that if you want the machine to throw the snow anywhere the blades need to be aimed straight ahead, when you adjust it left or right it really cuts down on the distance... that being said, I decided to use this machine side to side on my driveway... because when I was in the middle using the left or right angle, it couldn't get the snow passed the driveway and onto the grass area. But, when it is aimed straight ahead - no problems! Works pretty well.

Purchased through Amazon several seasons ago. Pretty much meets the manufacturer's claims regarding performance. Gave it away when we left snow country. Our needs are different now that we're back in snow country, so I purchased a Toro 1800 Power Curve. Several observations on the Snow Fox:

-Throws snow a HUGE distance when blowing straight ahead. However, will barely move snow out of the way when discharging to left or right.

-Light and maneuverable, handles make it easy to pick-up to clear steps and such

-Like all throwers where the scraper is designed to always contact the ground, this model does not like uneven surfaces such as tilted concrete slabs or gravel. It will catch on the edges and stop moving forward or the impeller will strike the ground.

-Managed to crack the impeller by striking a stone or something and jamming it against the housing. Crack did not reduce performance and made machine look more menacing.

-Unit shipped fully assembled. Plusses and minuses here ... sure you don't have to put it together, but the carton is huge and light and poorly braced inside. My carton arrived crushed. Handles on thrower were bent, but straightened easily when I took 'em across my knee.

-Hangs on the pegboard nicely out of the way.

-Due to resistance losses you are limited to 150 feet of power cord length.

Finally, remember the old adage ... 'When all else fails, read the instructions'

Gary

I bought the Yard-Man version of this machine. Not much different except the labeling. I've used it in three separate snowfalls this year and I am a satisfied customer. Most of the reviews I have seen here have been positive and I generally agree with what they say. Some have been negative and I will address some of their points:

1. The choice for most people is between a $600 gas-powered snow thrower that they will use two or three times a year and a $160 electric snow thrower (I actually bought mine from the factory for $140) that they also will use two or three times a year. So if you fault the machine for not being as brawny as a gas-powered thrower you must credit it for being a relatively inexpensive alternative to a tool of only occasional value.

2. The need to replace scrapers and augers, based on my experience, comes from improper use of the machine. If you hold it too vertical, the scraper and auger will come in contact with the pavement. You can tell when you're doing that by the grinding noise it makes. That's why those pieces will wear. If you insist on scraping down to entirely bare pavement, that's what will happen with any snow thrower.

3. You do need to keep cord management in mind when you are operating the machine. Any run of cord longer than 200 feet is going to reduce power and using small-gauge cord will do the same. You need at least 14-gauge power cord. If you attach the cord according to directions, using the cord tether supplied with the machine, the cord will not drop off. You have to be careful not to run over the cord, because it will jam the auger. Just remember, when you have to stop to relocate the cord, that this little electric machine always will start the first time, every time.

4. It's indisputable that the Snow Fox throws snow to the side a far shorter distance than it throws directly ahead. The way to address this issue - if it's a problem for you - is to clear a driveway with diagonal cuts, so that snow you blow directly ahead of you is well away from the driveway. Trying to do it lengthwise on a driveway will mean you have to move the same snow more than once.

5. There's no question that using the Snow Fox is more time-consuming than using a 20-inch, gas-powered machine. However, because it's so light using it is not nearly as tiring as shoveling or pushing a heavy, gas-powered machine. Again, in most places (I'm in Indianapolis) you're only going to use it a few times a year. And please refer again to my points #1 and 3. In addition, it makes a lot less noise than the two-cycle engines of the gas-powered blowers.

This year, we had a 12-inch snowfall, which is rare. I wondered whether the Snow Fox would be up to the job. I found out, to my surprise, that by reducing the swath a little and by using the diagonal technique described above, it did a fine job. Took longer than it would have with my neighbor's big Toro, but it handled the task.

The next week, we had a four-inch snowfall that was right down Snow Fox Alley. I would bet that my little electric thrower did just as well as the big boy next door. And that was with an immediate start, a quiet motor and no two-cycle exhaust.

Hope those comments answer some criticism. If you have a snow-clearing rage of less than 200 feet, live in an area with less than two feet of snowfall a year and have no concerns about your masculine image, I say give the Snow Fox a try. - Low Cost - Snow Blower - Snow Thrower - Electric Snow Thrower'

Best Gps For The Money - portable vehicle gps, widescreen gps

I have this unit for 10 days now and overall I am very happy with it. For its mainstream feature, navigation, it is excellent. I had a Garmin 350 before this which I loved but it was stolen from my car. I had a Magellan after that which was crap. The price on this unit was great ($247 - Amazon).

I chose it over the 1390T because I opted to not get bluetooth. It is the only difference between the units. I felt the bluetooth quality would be poor based on other reviews of bluetooth in general on GPS units. The main reason was in the way most people use bluetooth. In a typical day I am in and out of my car often. I always need my bluetooth immediately in case I get a call. I don't always need my GPS. And since my previous unit was stolen, and theft of these units is a big problem everywhere, I keep the unit hidden or sometimes remove it from the car. So if you are like me but you get this unit for bluetooth, you will need to stop and mount your gps everytime you get in the car whether you need it or not, just to have blue tooth capability. If you forget and the cell phone rings, you have no bluetooth. So I purchased a separate bluetooth speaker phone from Jabra (very good unit# which is always attached to my visor, pretty good quality, and always there when I need it. I saved about $75 by opting for the 1350T over the 1390T.

A few minor disappointments. The Lane Assist feature works great but is not available everywhere. I used it around NYC and it was helpful. I drove through Pennsylvania and upstate NY and it was not available. Marketing material hypes this feature but they neglect to tell you this one point. But when it is available, it is a great feature. That brings me to traffic. Same story here. I was driving through PA and hit a 1 hour traffic jam. No warnings from the traffic feature because it was not available in that area. When I got to the Scranton, PA area the traffic alerts started working. It alerted me of a major traffic jam ahead and it even rerouted my trip automatically. The reroute would have been a significant addition in miles but would be worth it to avoid the traffic, right? I decided to ignore the re-route just to test the unit to see if the alert was accurate and I was willing to endure the traffic. As I drove my original route, no traffic anywhere. So had I listened to the traffic alert, I would have driven 50 miles out of my way for nothing. Bottom line is, don't let the traffic feature be a deal breaker for the unit you choose. But then again, I got the 1350T for about the same price as the 1350 #same unit without traffic). Updating the map was more difficult than it should have been. I consider myself a very technical person with computers and gadgets but the map update did not go smoothly and took me several tries. I could see where many people will have difficulty with this if they attempt to update the map. Garmin nüvi 1350/1350T 4.3-Inch Widescreen Portable GPS Navigator with Lifetime Traffic

Overall, I am very satisfied with the Garmin nuvi 1350 but I do have a couple of minor complaints.

First of all, I do recommend that owners/potential buyers visit the Garmin web site to read through all of the product information and to review the FAQs. Some folks have made an issue of Garmin not including the USB cable with the device but this did not matter to me. The required cable is a standard type "A" to mini "B" USB cable. Many other devices use this same cable and I already own a couple of them. (I also heard that if you contact Garmin customer service, they may send you a cable at no charge.) Other reasons to visit the Garmin site: to register the product, to download the full PDF manual and to install the "my Garmin Agent Plugin" for web updates.

Next, my quibbles:

When the 1350 is plugged into a charging device (PC or vehicle), there is no way to determine when the unit is fully charged. This is very inconvenient. To view the charge level, you have to unplug the device and turn it on. Only then can you see the battery level. According to the Garmin FAQs, charge time is about 4 hours using the vehicle cable and 8 hours using the PC cable.

One of the features of the 1350 is the speed limit display. However, I find this to be of limited value. The speed display is frequently 5 to 10 mph too high compared with the actual posted speeds on the roads being traveled. As a result, this throws off the estimated destination arrival time.

Finally, why I am impressed:

When driving with the 1350, I never had any doubt where I was at any given time and I never had any doubt what my next maneuver would be (and isn't this the bottom line of any GPS?). The voice commands have plenty of volume, are easy to understand and they also give you adequate lead time for upcoming turns. The commands will also repeat but the voice is not annoying. Several times, I deliberately missed a turn to test how the 1350 would respond. It quickly calculated a revised route based on my current location.

I also found the screen to be clear and easy to see while driving (in bright sun, shade and at night).

The full manual states that a PDA type stylus can be used for the touch screen. I found this to be convenient (I'm actually using a stylus from a Nintendo DS.) While you can certainly use your finger on the screen, this will leave fingerprints and smudges on the screen.

Other notes:

I have the 1350 sitting on my dash with the Garmin "Portable Friction Mount" - highly recommended.

My 1350 came with a free case - the Caselogic MGPS-2. This case adequately protects the 1350 when it's not being used.

Overall, this has been a great purchase for my business travels and I would rate the unit as four and a half stars. - Portable Vehicle Gps - Widescreen Gps - Gps - Garmin Nuvi'

Electronic Device Holder

it's not very often that i feel like i got a fair deal for my money. i was very surprised with this product though. i bought it on a whim, not really expecting it to work.

my first impression was that of solid construction. very heavy duty plastic. the flexible neck is thick and strong and won't move even holding the heaviest device.

i was fairly sure this wouldn't mount well in my 2010 honda fit. the cup holders are all a little oddly shaped. one was small. the other was very large and heavily tapered. another was more rectangular than round. turns out it mounts steadily in all of them.

the device holder aspect it ratcheting. it has pads to hold the device on the sides and two little pegs that fold out to hold the bottom. the pads on the side additionally expand vertically to adjust where they hold the device. all in all, ingeniously flexible in the number of ways it can adjust. considering your device may have controls on the sides and ports on the bottom this is important.

as far as i can tell it would fit just about any size device i can think of. i happen to have a nexus one that is very close to the size of an iphone 3gs.

a note on price / buying options. i paid $15.22 for this. when searching under "nexus one", i found the same bracketron unit listed for $26.99 (plus shipping) from a different seller. quite a difference. there is also another brand, "gomadic". they have a unit that, as far as i can tell, is identical to this model (bracketron). however, it's $29.99. Bracketron UCH-101-BL Universal Cup-iT Cup Holder Mount

I'm pleasantly surprised! This fits my HTC Droid Incredible perfectly, and would also work with an Ipod or GPS unit.

The side arms are independently adjustable, so that each "finger" can be spread apart as far as needed to keep volume control buttons and the charge port accessible. I have them far apart on one side of the unit, and close together on the other...because I can.

The neck bends like sturdy heavy wire and holds its shape.

The base is expandable with an easy turn of the dial, to accommodate wider cup holders. But the best feature is the easy rotation that "pops" into place, allowing one to use their phone in a vertical position, or quickly change it to horizontal view with one hand. The bottom supports fold up or down as needed.

The plastic is heavy and solid feeling--I have confidence this will hold up for some time. But it also came with a lifetime warranty if registered at Bracketron's website.

There was an extra flat plate in the package that would slide onto the base, but has no grip fingers. It has 4 screw holes or could be used with velcro or foam tape. The instructions don't mention the part. I assume it's for permanent attachment to the back of an item that would not fit within the approximate 4 1/2" grip, such as an internet radio receiver or iPad.

Edit after using for several months: The bendable neck's length should be a bit longer, to accommodate low bulging dashboards. This is the same height as my shifter, and moving it to the side puts it at a bad angle for viewing. Another couple of inches would help.

I purchased this item after I purchased an Android phone (which has a great built-in GPS app). I had previously used a Tomtom AIO GPS, attached via a suction cup, onto a dashboard beanbag mount. Wanting to minimize the gadget accessories in my car, I was hoping this would fit the bill and hold my cell phone while driving.

PROS:

*Pretty decent quality plastic, not as flimsy as other cheapo made-in-china accessories

*Decent securing mechanism. The bottom sits in the cup holder, and you rotate a ring which expands the edges into the cup holder

*Flexible neck appears pretty durable, will definitely hold the shape you bend it into

*The gadget holder section can rotate 360, so you can do landscape or portrait orientations. It's also padded, with "arms" which can be arranged so that they don't accidentally press on side-buttons. Could easily snake a car charger into the gadget of your choice.

CONS:

*Unfortunately, the flexible neck is really really short. Extremely short. Unless your cup holders are at the very front, directly adjacent to the dashboard, and elevated, whatever it's holding is essentially right at your side, and not in front of you. A real problem for GPS in my opinion, as you'd really have to look down and away from the road a bit more than I think is safe. I'd seen other ones which were much longer, but based on the photos here, I should have known better.

If you want it to hold a mp3 player or something, probably not a problem. But then why not just put the mp3 player directly into the cup holder then?

I'm going to try a generic suction cup phone mount to attach to my old beanbag dashboard mount.'

Car Charger - dual usb car charger, dual usb

I purchased this looking for a smaller charger and I love Griffin products. The description for this product says that it is "2 A" and can charge a variety of electronic devices which connect to a USB charger. The packaging more clearly describes the charger as having two USB ports which produce 1 A each. It appears that the description is adding the two together which is not helpful. Ipods and Iphones only need 1A or 1 amp chargers while the Ipad needs a 2A or 2 amp charger. Two 1 amp charging ports does not equal one 2 amp charging port.

Other than that - a great product. Powerjolt Dual Universal USB Micro

I purchased this item to replace what looks like an older (and unsatisfactory) version of this product: Griffin Technology Powerjolt Dual Universal (Black). This new version has many benefits over the old... It does not work it's way out of the power socket like the old version, it is smaller, and it puts out more power (plenty to charge my DroidX which requires 850mA, this puts out 1A per socket).

I have been using it for a couple of months so far, and it's performed flawlessly.

I have had this charger for about 3 months now. I bought it thinking that it would save on space in the car. It does. This is so small that it hardly even sticks out. Charges my Droid X well. About 2 weeks ago mine busted though. I went to charge my phone and the little white guide in the charger snapped and got stuck in my USB cable. Also I would not suggest leaving it plugged in when not in use. I had forgot about the little thing and was cleaning out my car when I noticed it was still plugged in. I pulled it out and it was hot, the heat from the charger was crazy. I wonder if that had something to do with the plastic breaking. I am still unsure if I will buy another one or not.

Great that they can make this dual adaptor so small. Fits great in my VW. When not charging I can close the cover with the adaptor still in, so never need to unplug it.

Didn't notice it was any slower to charge than my old single port unit.

I researched chargers and bought one online for vacation, sadly its not getting here in time for the trip so I went and bought this one at the Wall. The reason I have had to research chargers is because the HTC Evo 4g has 2 separate charge settings. One is called USB(500 mah which comes from your computer or lower end chargers) and the other is AC(1 Amp which is wall chargers, etc...)

Now even though many chargers say 1 Amp per usb as this product does, some smart phones can't "see" the extra charge because manufacturers didn't link 2 points on the chip inside the charger. I have seen people on the internet open these things and solder those 2 points together and resolve the issue, however I don't know how to solder, so I am left with a car charger that says it charges at 1 Amp but when I plug in my phone it only charges at half the speed the box advertises.

Why is this so important? If I use my GPS or internet while its using this charger, it will drain the battery faster than it is being charged, the charger will be fighting a losing battle the entire trip. I gave the charger 3 stars because it will work for 95% of the people who buy it, but anyone who has a high end smart phone will have to buy this to find out if it charges their phone at its advertised speed.

My Subaru has one 12v power outlet within the center console, and I've got two devices requiring power: A BlackBerry Storm2, and a BlackBerry Bluetooth Stereo Gateway. Both devices required fairly substantially sized 12v power adapters, in a confined area where storage space is definitely at a premium.

This Powerjolt device manages to put out enough current to charge my BlackBerry (which is happy to give me a "low power USB source / charging suspended" error message with some chargers, and also power the stereo gateway device which is a simple Bluetooth receiver that also connects to my vehicle's aux-in stereo port. Double the function of two 12v adapters, with almost none of the footprint.

If I have one criticism, it's that the packaging is ridiculously difficult to pry open without a blade, and even then, it was a challenge to not slice my finger open. But with that operation over and done with, this is truly a "set and forget" device that I won't have to touch for a long time to come.

In fact, this charger has such a low profile, I'd recommend it even if you only have one device that needs power. And it's right at home in plain sight in an ashtray or dashboard cigarette lighter, and in my car would even allow the little trap-door panel to close into the dash with it still installed (with the cable unplugged).

This product works as advertised. I can run my Garmin GPSMap 60CSx (not sensitive to shorting the USB data lines) and charge my Nexus One or BlackBerry Curve 8900 (both require shorting the USB data lines to charge correctly) at the same time.

I can confirm that this item works with the outlets in the following vehicles: 1999 Jeep Cherokee, 2010 Ford Expedition, 2002 Ford Escape, 2010 Honda CR-V.

Build quality seems adequate, USB ports make a good positive connection.

It could use a method of removing it from the outlet, as of now fingernails are helpful to grab onto the rim to pull it out. - Iphone Car Charger - Dual Usb - Dual Usb Car Charger - Car Charger'

Automotive - amplifier wiring kits, car audio

This is a nice kit and a good value for the money. It is not equal to a US 4 gauge wire size though. This kit has a smaller diameter wire more like an 8 gauge. The crimp on wire terminals are thin gauge but worked well for my installation.

Danford1 Lanzar AMPKIT4 Contaq 1800 Watt 4 Gauge Power Amp Kit

I got this kit for my '07 Nitro. I had the perfect amount of power wire, and not enough remote turn on or ground wire. The Power and Ground wires provided aren't 4 gauge, they're more like 6 or 8 gauge

As noted in other reviews, these cables are probably not AWG 4.

The 'speaker wires' are AWG 22 or so, and the stereo RCA cable (which is not channel-color-coded) is the poorest example of such wire I have seen commercially in many a year (even worse than Radio Shack wires).

As stated elsewhere, it's a great value for the price (in my case, hooking up a charger/converter to my batteries).

I did, however, wind up using all supplied crimp-on connectors, though not for their stated purpose.

I do say this was decent for the price. The wire is a thin silver strand bunched together which breaks easily, the RCA cables were to short to go from the deck to the back of my 300 almost (although I barely made it still), the speaker wire that came with it was like 20-18 gauge wire (horrible for a 1800 watt kit), it did come with a few zipties (I already had some anyways but in for reference) as well as a assortment of terminals (Crimp style). It also had a self tapping screw for the ground wire, but no screws for the fuse holder (no clue why, again I had some to use already). Other than the few flaws listed it was ok for the price.

I'm currently doing a project on an '07 Mustang GT, and this worked well for now. It's not a 4 gauge, at least by US standards, but it worked well. Wiring was long enough to fit through my boat car, so I'm happy for now. When I get my second amp for my other speakers, I'll upgrade to a better quality wire, but for now, these work fine.

this set is garbage. The amp fuse holder couldn't hold the wire it came with!!! amp started cutting out because power amp wire was so cheap quality it had to be replaced. That's only after having it in for two weeks. Very poor wire way too brittle.

this kit has good power, ground, and rca cables. I just barly had enough power cable, the speaker wire is alright but the remote wire is junk. its too thin and was making my amp shut off. i replaced it and everything works great.

Cant complain about the wire and coaxials were really good quality. The connectors blew. Low quality and not worth keeping i bought new ones and saved mysekf the trouble of them pullin out. Other than that the wire quality is excellent - Amp - Car Audio - Amplifier Wiring Kits - Wiring Kits'

Astronomy Laser - green laser pointer, laser pointer

I made this purchase after doing as much research on green lasers as possible. After reading the reviews for this particular laser, I was a bit skeptical, but thought that the price was low enough for me to opt for it over a 100mw or lesser laser. Upon opening the package from the seller, I found 5 items. First was a nice vlevety covered box. The box came with a foam insert that was cut to the size of the laser and the batteries for safe storage. Second was the laser itself. The construction was solid and the warning label was exactly as depicted. So far, I had actually received a >200mw laser. Third were the batteries. Unfortunately, these were AAA akaline batteries from a company that I had never heard of...more on them later. Fourth was an piece of paper with instructions on how to properly insert the batteries and operate the laser. Finally, there was a typed up letter from the seller discussing the dangers of using the laser. Here is where I also learned that they expect their batteries might not work.

The next step was to try the laser out. I took the supplied batteries and stuck them in the laser, closed it up, and to my dissappointment, nothing happened. Upon further inspection, I noticed a faint red hue coming from the lens opening, but this was by no means a green laser. I then put in my Energizer Litium Max batteries as suggested by some of the other reviews on this site. After I closed up the housing and tried the thing out, I was pleasantly surprised! To my untrained eye, this was living up to the 200mw expectations I had. Aiming at a white wall approximately 15 feet away in the middle of the day with the lights on, the greeen dot that appeared was so bright I immediately turned it off. This leads me to my second suggestion...buy some protective glasses when operating this product!

My next taks was to see exactly what kind of power we were talking about here. To the matches! I pulled out a wooden match from the drawer, used a black Sharpie to color the match head, propped it up and aimed the laser at it from approximately 8 inches away. After a couple of seconds, FIRE! I couldn't believe it! This laser does in fact light matches. I have yet to play around with it much more beyond that, but so far I'm thinking this was a great buy!

I will be posting a video in the next few days showing the capabilites of this laser on my YouTube page [...]

Final thought...buy this laser! You won't be dissappointed. 200 MW GREEN LASER POINTER

When I first started using this pointer the brightnes was inconsistent and then it would not turn on at all. I found that by unscrewing it as if to change the batteries it would work for a little while. I then unscrewed it again and pulled on the contact spring for the + part of the battery and did not have a problem since. I think more attention should be given to quality control, because as in this case, the spring simply was not long enough to provide sufficient contact.

I was very skeptical at first buying this considering most 200 mW green lasers are $70 plus but this one can burn matches and pop balloons with half batteries so i am very satisfied i am going to recommend this to a ton of friends. Only reason rated 4 was because dead batteries made me think the laser was broken and i had to run to store to make sure.

First off I own several lasers from 5mW to 300mW and this laser compares about to my 30mW... I have bought 3 lasers from this company Bynovel 2 100mW and this 200mW only one still works and I bought them in march of 2011 and thats running them on a duty cycle of 35 -60 sec on and 30 sec off..... They all came with the same sticker on it saying <100mW which means it is lower then 100mW that was to be expected for this price range. but i payed $30.00 more for the 200mW you think they would at least change up the stickers on it..... Do yourself a favor and just get the 100mW if you want a cheap green laser and save some money... or buy from Optotronics or nova lasers you get what you pay for there....

GREAT laser! VERY bright beam is easily visible, arrived at my house in about 2-3 days when it wasnt expected to come for 3-4 weeks!YES it can light a match and YES it can pop balloons! It popped 5 balloons in a row in less than 5 seconds! Shines MILES and MILES away! Awesome buy! VERY bright! Came in a velvety box, and 2 energizer batteries that were full of battery!

A MUST get! Awesome!

A+++++++++

This laser did arrive on time however the lens eas scratched and off center. The laser was hitting the inside more than ot was outside, I could also look inside the opening and see scratches on the lens. Defiantly not worth the money!

I recently bought a 50mw green laser pointer. To much disappointment i found it did not pop balloons or light matches. After talking to some of my friends i decided to go out and buy a 100mw laser. I found that it did indeed pop balloons but only if they had black sharpie on them, full batteries, and even then it took a very steady hand and time. After spending so much money i decided that i was going to buy one more and that i would make sure what i was buying was going to do what i wanted. so i did some research and found that a 200mw laser would pop balloons and light matches. After reading some of the reviews and comments on this i was a little worried that it would indeed be another waste of money, so i went to my uncle who owns this exact version(purchased it 3 weeks previously so it was still pretty new). i decided to run it through some tests. I wanted to see if it would:

pop balloons

light matches

generate a beam

constant, sturdy light

and overall be durable(not fade, break, or burnout over time)

I found that it did almost all of the above. I could not test the constant beam very well because after about 25 seconds the laser would overheat and start to fade. I lined up 10 balloons(black) in a straight line, i then held the laser about 3ft away and pressed the button. The balloons were gone almost instantly. Now the matches weren't as easy, at first i tried it with a regular, untainted match. After about 2 minutes of shining and cooling i could start to smell it burning, but it would never quite catch a flame. I then put in new batteries and sharpied a new match black. Holding it a foot away in a matter of 15 seconds or so it burst to flame. I then pulled the curtains closed and turned the lights of, it was as dark as if a large storm cloud had passed over the sun. From readings reports of the light being so bright it hurt i decided to put glasses on, by shining it down my 10ft hallway it shone with the brightness of a bonfire. Even with that amount of light i could still see the beam it created. I never got enough money to buy one so 2 months had gone by and i wanted to test the last one, durability. I ran all the tests again with the SAME RESULTS! I was astounded. This was a used laser that had gone through abuse like being dropped(hard ground and water), aged, and over used, and it passed every single test. i went out and bought one and have been happy ever since. This is a very good product to buy and you will not be disappointed. - Laser Pointers - Laser Pointer - Green - Green Laser Pointer'

Rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride - smart charger, rechargeable batteries

The "Tenergy Speedy Box" (aka "Ni-Cd & Ni-MH Computer Controlled Smart Charger" Model BC-1HU) is, as of this writing, the best (and one of the fastest) smart chargers I've owned yet.

Likes:

* CAPACITY: it has 2 groups of charging bays. The first (located in it's upper right corner) can handle two 9v batteries. The second (under it's silver lid) can handle 4 of any combination of the following types: AAA, AA, C, D. The charger can handle both NiCad and NiMHi.

* ERGONOMICS: There's no need to toggle any switches in order to handle different types of batteries ... the charger's CPU automatically detects the size and type (NiCad or NiMHi) of any given battery placed into any individual charging slot, and it automatically adjusts the charging curve for that slot to the optimum method ... and you can mix and match different types of batteries in different cells, and it will individually charge and monitor each one independantly.

* SPEED: Because this charger is truly 'smart', it can quickly sense when a battery has reached full charge and switch that one battery to standby (the LED for that battery will change from Red to Green) ... which really helps extend battery life by avoiding unnecessary overcharging (esp when the power blinks and would otherwise trigger another full charging pass in many older 'dumb' chargers). The only battery type that takes an unusually long time is the 9v, but that's probably true of all chargers.

NITS:

* I wish the two 9v charging slots each had their own individual charge status LED (like the other 4 slots in the main bay do). Other than that, I'm very happy with this unit. Waxing philosophical for a moment - it'd be nice if someone would make a true "universal" charger that could also handle things like IPods, Cellphones, Car Batteries, etc. (each whith they own connecting adaptor), but that sort of technology convergence is still a ways off in the future.

Highly recommended - I've owned mine since early 2006.

Also recommended are the Tenergy 2600 mAh AA batteries, which have very good capacity and lifespan. I use them in everything that can handle the slightly decreased voltage inherent in rechargeables. This charger, and my batteries, have already paid for themselves several times over. Newer users will reach their break-even point even faster than I did, because this charger's price is now (as of this writing) less than half what it cost me when it first came out. BC1HU 110-240V Universal Fast Smart Charger for AA/AAA/C/D/9V Rechargeable Batteries

I bought one of these chargers about five years ago when it was a brand-new model, and considerably more expensive. Still, considering the near-constant use it has seen charging my large collection of batteries that sustain my digital existence, the investment has paid off several times over. This represents many hundreds of charges. At its current price, it is quite competitive with the handful of newer models that have digital readouts (in contrast to simple red and green LEDs,) and has the added advantage of being able to handle C-and D-cells, a feature I call upon frequently.

This is a real "smart charger." That means a microprocessor monitors the charge status of the batteries to ensure that they are not overcharged, and as far as I can tell, it works the way it is supposed to. In five years, I have only thrown out two cells, whose failure is most likely attributable to their dubious origin. Better types, like the "generic" Tenergy batteries, have worked flawlessly with heavy use; the same goes for the Sanyo Eneloops and Rayovac hybrids. //my two cents

Too good to be true, at this price. Easy test- take the recharged batteries and put them back in-- there appears to be no overcharge protection, and the batteries will begin to heat up, especially the AAA due to the high charging current.

I bought this back in 2006, and it worked well for the first year or so, recharging the batteries in the kid's toys. However after a year sometimes the charger would give a green light saying the battery was charged even after it had only been in for 5 mins or so. Taking the battery out and putting it in would fix it, but then another year or so, it would stop charging (the red light would turn off) in one of the bays, meaning I only could charge 3 batteries at a time. A few weeks ago, another bay is not working properly. I think that a charger costing this much should last longer than a few years given that it has no moving parts to fail.

I've had many battery chargers over the years and this is the best by far.

It will charge one battery or up to four batteries at the same time. If I'm having a problem with batteries not holding a charge well when charged in another charger I'll charge them in this charger and if the battery is any good it will hold a charge longer than if charged in faster chargers or chargers that don't have a circuit for each battery.

Recommend five stars.

For less than $25, this is a great charger! (Though less great for 9 volt batteries.)

One reveiwer said that this charger not "smart" and proved so by re-inserting freshly charged batteries and noting that they start to charge again, as indicated by the batteries getting warm. I tried it myself and this is what I found: The first time I charged the batteries it took something like 9 hours. The second time, the charger "charged" the batteries for about 1 hour before shutting off. So, okay, it's not perfect. But it DID stop charging much sooner the second time. For the price I paid, I won't complain!

This charger is VERY versatile, capable of charging four batteries of any type simultaneously. The four channels are fully independent.

A very useful feature is that you can set the charger to fully discharge the bateries before the charge cycle begins. With NiMH or NiCd batteries, you need to perform a charge/discharge cycle on new batteries two or three times before they will hold a full charge. (This is true regardless of the charger used.) So this feature is nice to have.

One complaint is that you need to unplug the charger between charge cycles. It seems they should have included a power-on switch for this. The instructions don't state what happens if you don't power down between cycles. However, be aware that in order to perform a disharge/charge cycle, you need to press the red button within 30 seconds of powering up. If you remember these two things, you don't need to refer to the instructions any further.

One tip I offer is this: The auto-sensing feature (which determines the size of the battery, AAA, AA, C, D) works only of the battery is properly seated. If you're careless, the battery may rest on the bottom slightly tilted.)

One last thing: The part of the charger for 9 volt batteries is NOT smart -- it just has a timer. So make sure you fully drain 9 volt batteries before charging! (The discharge feature doesn't work for 9 volt batteries.) Otherwise the battery life will be shortened. - Chargers - Smart Charger - Rechargeable Batteries - Nimh'

Cooktop Cleaner - razor blade, scraper

I bought plastic razor blades to clean my glass cooktop and needed a holder for them. The first one I tried was all metal and a good size but it was so hard to get the blades into it, I ordered this set instead.

The long handled holder and blade are ideal for removing the stickers from my windshield. The windshield is so slanted I can't get my hand down far enough to remove the sticker with a smaller scraper. I noticed that this long handled version is what was being used in the car service center.

The smaller holder is great for the plastic blades. There is a screw that you loosen and hand tighten to insert a new blade. It holds the blade securely and is relatively easy to manage. I wish the holder were a little bigger so I could put a bit more muscle into my cleaning project, but it does work as designed. I use the protector cap on the long handled item because it has the real razor blade in it.

The pack of single sided blades will no doubt last me a quite a while, since I'll be using the plastic blades more often.

Overall, the products perform as expected and will be very useful. Titan 17002 Multi-Purpose Razor Scraper Set - 2 Piece

I've been using single edged razor blades for over 50 years & have tried everything from cardboard/masking tape handles to welding a blade to an old screwdriver (needed to extend reach). The blades do a good job scraping paint or rust, removing decals, precise cutting & trimming, removing goo. Have you ever tried to remove old dried masking tape?

This scraper set is great, first the handles are cushioned & designed for secure blade control, the extension is strong & flat (2 hand control), but is narrow in width than the blade (important in confined spaces). Excellent product & greatly improves safety. - Razor Blade - Hand Tools - Scraper'
