Internet Tv - netflix, 1080p

I bought this TV specifically for the Netflix app which allowed me to stream live movies onto the tv instead of watching them on my pc. This product is comparable with other brands I had researched in the $850-$1000 price range. The picture quality is GREAT! It was very easy to set up and connect with my wireless router. And in no time I was watching movies and building my watch instantly queue with Netflix. Some of the other reviews mentioned a high pitched whine when the unit is turned off. This must have been addressed by Vizio because I can put my ear to the thing and no noise is there. I love the Yahoo Widget apps and the TV guide app is very handy. Also, with the Pandora Internet Radio app who needs XM/Sirrius especially when played through a surround sound or stereo system. By the way, the remote is as advanced as the unit itself. I have my tv hooked into my Pioneer stereo reciever and was amazed while watching a music DVD that when I left my remote on top of the stereo cabinet and returned minutes later, it had "recognized" my reciever and after that when I raised or lowered the volume of the tv speakers, my stereo speakers raised and lowered accordingly. Can't wait to see what else it can do! VIZIO E322VL 32-Inch LCD HDTV with VIZIO Internet Application, Black

This is our first non-CRT television, so it's a big jump from our 20 inch portable.

It connected fine to the internet, and we were up and running with all the local channels pretty quickly.

The picture seemed a bit dark, but I think it was the broadcast. NetFlix videos were nearly flawless.

Our Wii console connected and worked fine. We don't have a DVD player hooked up to it, so I can't speak to the quality of DVD movies (it's in our lower basement level).

A couple of things:

1. Pandora app: only worked after I disabled the TV's DHCP setting.

2. The USB Port is useless - won't show photos. VIZIO Tech Support (very nice, by the way) indicated that the USB port is not activated for this model, but a firmware update will be "coming soon." I don't believe them. I think there is something wrong with this set. I'll try to post an update when I hear something.

Overall - I can't say too much about the TV until we've lived with it for a while.

Update: After a few days, we noticed that, when turned OFF, the television emitted a high-pitched noise. The noice stopped when the TV was powered back on.

After speaking with Vizio tech support (and going through futile "power cycles," Vizio scheduled a warranty service call. It is scheduled for September 30 - I'll update this post with the verdict.

...

Update:

The service company just left.

They replaced the power board, but the sound is still there (they claim they can't hear it after installing - which is BS).

I am going to give VIZIO one more chance to fix the problem, and then the unit's going back to Amazon and I'm getting another brand.

This is really too bad, since the TV works great otherwise - Internet apps work great, picture is great.

I don't want to say not to buy this TV - just be aware that this has happened to the unit I purchased.

...

Update:

Unfortunately we ended up returning this television to Amazon. We purchased an identical unit from Wal-Mart, and it made the same sound. Based on the fact that two TVs and a replaced power board didn't solve the problem, I concluded that this model from Visio will always make the sound and returned it.

We purchased a non-internet TV (Sony) and a Roku box. This combination works fine. The Sony isn't nearly as nice as the Vizio, and I need to grab a second remote, but this is an annoyance. We don't watch too much TV anyway, so it's not a big bother.

I would recommend Vizio only if you have a chance to return the set. I don't think all Vizio models will have this problem, but you can't be too carefull.

...

Just got it and set it up and I am very impressed. The Image quality is really good. We have a 42-Inch 1080p 60 HZ Sharp in the living room and, while this tv is smaller, I think the image quality is superior. I was worried about it being a little small, but as a bedroom TV it works great. We had it set up on a stand for a short while and that was very easy to attach, but now have it mounted. We got this TV because it was the cheapest reasonably sized TV with Internet Apps. The ONLY wire coming out of our TV is the power cord. All we watch are things available through the VIA apps, most notably Netflix Streaming. It really simplifies our bedroom and prevents having the clutter of a blu-ray player, gaming system, etc which we have in our living room setup. I'm very excited for Hulu Plus to come to VIA apps, which is supposed to happen Fall 2010, so....any day now.

I absolutely LOVE this television!!! The picture is so great but what tops everything is the ability to connect to Netflix and other apps. We use the apps every single day. I've woken up at night to bad weather and am able to check the radar quickly with the weather app!! The sound is also great...I have another 32" HDTV and the sound is not nearly as good. Very impressed and would highly recommend this to anyone.

I used to sell HDTVs when they first hit the market, and as such I never imagined some day I would own a Vizio. I saw the market move from ED tube sets to DLPs to plasma to LCD and so on. Just like a mechanic, while I would spend all day learning and working with beautiful TV screens, up until this recent Black Friday I was strictly a tube TV standard definition kind of guy. Yes, this is my first HDTV.

I'll say right off the bat that the picture quality on this TV is fine. I've turned off all the noise reduction and all that stuff and it just as nice as all the other LCD TVs out there. Picture quality isn't the hard part anymore. The only thing manufacturers really have to worry about is ease of use. This is where Vizio is falling short.

The first thing that I have to mention is that the remote is just awful. It disregards over half the buttons I hit. Most menus don't scroll when you hold down the arrow buttons. The symmetrical shape ensures that I will always doubt whether I'm holding it the right direction in the dark. When you hit the menu button it lags for at least a second, sometimes turning the screen black until the visually unimpressive menu loads. I have no idea why a TV wouldn't be able to load its own menu in a split second, especially since there is NOTHING special about it.

The available settings change for each input. VGA has almost no picture settings (brightness, contrast), coax has a few more, and HDMI is just jam packed with them. Each input retains the settings that it had the last time you used it. The product sheet brags that you can label the inputs, but all that means is that it still says HDMI2 but alongside you can tag it with a preset name like "Game".

Audio settings I usually turn off just like picture, but SRS TruVolume is actually pretty killer. I'd never had a TV with this before. It's basically a fast release compressor that ducks down the volume when a loud sound happens. It really isn't that useful for commercials (AMC HD still has such a huge volume change between movies and commercials that TruVolume doesn't stand a chance), but it's nice for pretty much any action movie made in the past 20 years where the producer thinks the sound effects are more important than the whispered dialogue (looking at you Michael Mann!).

On to the internet apps. This was where I wasn't sure if I was making the right decision. On one hand I would prefer a simple TV with less things to break or go obsolete, but the idea of being able to watch Netflix at night without my Xbox or computer (which isn't really an option since most HD material on Netflix is "HD on your TV", not on the Silverlight player) running made me giddy. I'll get to Netflix later, but not much later since the apps (sorry, widgets) that are available are pretty much worthless. I couldn't log in to my Yahoo account because my Yahoo username was apparently too long, so I'm not sure what kind of functionality that adds. I was pretty bummed that I couldn't find a way to remove all the worthless widgets it came pre-installed with, but it seems to enjoy completely erasing them all every few weeks so that solved that problem.

So that leads me to Netflix. Oh, how glorious this could be. The interface has updated twice since I bought the unit. You don't even need to load the whole app if you just want to resume the last thing you were watching. It has all the features of the Xbox app, including search and your most recently enjoyed genres (alongside standard fare like recommendations and Instant Queue). The problem - and by problem I mean crippling flaw - is that it plays all HD content out of sync. The audio is about 500ms behind the picture. The audio menu has a "Lip sync" feature, but all it does is put the audio MORE out of sync. I can't imagine why they would only make it go one direction. I was so excited to see voice sync since that stuff drives me crazy, but it hasn't once been effective. I had high hopes each time the Netflix app updated, but the issue remains. Maybe some future update will fix it. As of February 2011 this is not the case.

Oh, and maybe the biggest flaw: the backlight hums unless it's on 100%. If yours is humming it's probably because the backlight is on 85 (default), or the Ambient Light Sensor or Backlight Control is enabled under advanced picture. - 1080p - Netflix - 32 Inch Lcd - 120hz'

Canon Mp980 Printer

I know this OEM ink is expensive, but the quality of this ink can't be matched by the NONOEMS. If you care about the quality of your prints, this the way to go. I have used all kinds of after market products, and no matter what they claim about their quality, they just can't compare to oem. I also ended up with clogged print heads and at least 1 trashed printer. Photo output with this ink is gorgeous, and the color tones are just right. You also save a few bucks with this 4 pack. Canon CLI-221 4-Color Value Pack (Black/Cyan/Magenta/Yellow) (2946B004) in Retail Packaging

I moved up to a MP620 from a previous Canon printer. While I'll admit with the previous post that the ink wells are smaller, but they also use less drops of ink than my older model and gives out a MUCH better picture. And if you install the software that comes with the MP620, it will pop up showing a low cartridge, then click the exclamation above the tank, it will give you the part number needed. You can even click the 'about ink' button and will give you a nice large printable list of the ink part numbers.

I'll admit I still use local print shops for large quantities of 4x6 images, but single 4x6 or any other I can print with very pleasing results.

NOTE: The Canon Photo print software gives a more true to life color than either Photoshop or Lightroom. I know something needs to be changed in the Adobe software, but I haven't figured it out yet.

Excellent product. I suggest to readers that you consider using OEM products for printers. I screwed up my Canon printer using an off brand. You may go for some years with no problems using off brands and save some heavy duty money and it will pay for itself. However, if your printer fails early on because of off brand you are a loser. I have a good printer and will just pay the extra dollars. Some of my off brands were empty. Some would not work and the last batch dorked up my printer for good.

So far it looks like the ink is lasting a bit longer than I thought it might based on other reviews of the MP980 printer and these ink tanks. I do a lot of Birthday and greeting cards. Some of the cards have quite a lot of graphics and it is still chugging along. My former printer had the printer head go bad due to my purchasing non-Canon ink which was supposed to work just as well. The printer head costs almost as much as the printer itself. It's just not worth going cheap. I really prefer Canon printers so I'll stick to their ink. At least they have separate inks for the 3 primary colors and two black tanks.

I use third party toner on my laser printer, but I don't want to use third party ink on my photo printer. I don't mind spending a bit extra on a quality print especially after I spend great deal of time taking and editing my photos. These inks do the best job. Period.

But let's be realistic. 10$ on a tiny plastic box of ink that won't last very long is bit too much. Digital photography let you take lot of pictures at relatively no cost, but when you want to print them, they seem to be far more expensive than printing film.

Well what could I say the 4 color pack is great love that you dont have to replace all ink cartridges at the same time you only have to replace what colors are needed to be replaced. That is a good feature Canon is known for that. Alot of other brands you have to replace all ink even when they are halfway full. Never have problems with Canon ink, never had any problems with any of Cannon products. Oh yeah almost forgot and it is so easy to replace each cartridge.

I do a monthly newsletter for a TOPS group, and use quite a lot of ink. I like my new Canon printer - model MP620 -- I find that ordering my supply from Amazon is the most practical way, plus I like the multi - packs available.'

600hz Refresh Rate - plasma, lg

I bought this TV (LG 50PZ750 plasma) for Father's Day and had it just less than a month. I LOVED it..easy to set up,remote easy to use, GREAT picture, accessed Netflix easily, yadayadayada...UNTIL one morning we turned it on, after having the power completely off, and the screen was tinted RED all over. After some time it would flicker between a normal picture and the black/red picture. I googled LG PLASMA PROBLEM and found something about LGs,Phillips, and Magnavox plasmas having this problem. Didn't need to read any more so I called AMAZON and asked to return it for a refund. I'm SOOOOO glad I bought it through Amazon...no hassel..no shipping charges..veerry easy. Their shipping company just comes to my house and picks it up.I was also just within the 30 day return limit. I'm replacing it with a Samsung Pn51D7000, a little pricier, but also a great deal on Amazon.

I STRONGLY suggest that any TV buyer do these 2 things:

1. SAVE the shipping box, you can't get a refund without it)

2. Buy an extended WArranty from SQUARETRADE.

I bought the warranty (4 yrs, about 135.00 with promocode on their site) and Squaretrade REFUNDED the entire amount since the TV was being returned. All in all, I loved the TV , but because I bought through Amazon I was able to get a full refund and not have to go through the Manufacturer's service process. LG Infinia 50PZ750 50-Inch 1080p Active 3D THX Certified Plasma HDTV with Smart TV

My previous TV was a three-year old Panasonic HDTV 50" plasma and so I'm able to review this TV with some experience with another set that had similar specifications. I wasn't expecting massive leaps in image quality and merely purchased this TV because of the low price it was at and the fact that I wanted the 3D experience.

I have to say however that once tweaked, this set is leaps and bounds beyond my older TV. The image is clearer and is much brighter. Of course as I said you have to tweak it to get that perfect image and by far in a way the most essential tweak is to switch off the terrible energy saving option that infects this television. The theory is this 'intelligently' dims areas of the unneeded sections of the screen to save power since plasmas draw a lot of juice. The reality, however, is everything looks dirty and dim even at 100% brightness. In fact with the energy saving setting on, the more I tweaked things, the dimmer the TV seemed to get. Thankfully it's just a quick disable of this option and retina-burning brightness is the wonderful result. Just how I like it.

Once I was satisfied with the image settings I immediately played the IMAX 'Ultimate Wave Tahiti' 3D blu ray to stretch its legs. And I was blown away. Everything looked so clear yet... in 3D! And I love the fact that the menu options are also in 3D meaning that tweaking the depth settings whilst playing a 3D movie is extremely easy (and quite effectively bizarre).

Now there's a lot of features on this set - youtube, web browser, vudu, games, apps and so on and I've yet to try any of them. This is due to the fact that this 'wifi ready' set doesn't have wifi; you have to buy the LG AN-WF100 Wi-Fi USB Adaptor or use a cat5 cable. I almost dinged the overall rating stars because of this. Even sub-$100 gadgets like apple TV has wifi built in. I decided against the ding and have ordered the dongle but boy is it frustrating to spend four figures on a set up only to find you're missing a 1 inch long peripheral that cost $20 or so. This also means I haven't had chance to try the supplied extra mouse pointer wii-like remote controller (you also get a nice light-up normal remote) although it does look interesting.

Sound is also unused in my set up as I have a 7.1 receiver. Usually sound on these sets is passable but nothing to write home about - I can't imagine this set pumps out huge bass because it's so thin, but perhaps the speakers are in the base or something. In all honestly if you're getting this TV then you probably already have equipment that sounds better than the in built speakers though.

Almost certainly due to the high brightness that I have this set I do notice a lot of inherent memory. This is often thought to be burn-in on plasmas and I read in another review for this plasma TV that they were whitewashing the set every night to rectify it. Please don't do this! Temporary image retention is normal for a plasma and it self corrects itself fairly quickly once you start watching something else. This set 'suffers' from it no more than any other plasma that I've seen and I just wanted to put that out there in case you bought it and thought you'd ruined it with some burn in.

So what we have here is a utterly stunning TV that's got everything you need. It's ten steps ahead of my three year old plasma in all respects plus it's 70lbs lighter. I cannot recommend this TV highly enough regardless of whether you're into the 3D thing. What a great set.

I've had this tv for a little over a week. For the most part, it is a nice tv-picture quality is good, basic set-up was easy, lots of features, etc. However, one of the main reasons I chose this tv was for the web apps and this is where it seems half-baked. Netflix, amazon instant streaming, and hulu all work well and were easy to set up. Additional apps are limited and others, such as youtube are just plain unusable. This wouldn't be an issue if the included web browser(nice feature) had flash support. Lack of flash support seems like a major oversight for a network connect television and has been an annoyance on several occasions already within the first week.

Summary, this is a nice tv with good features for the price, but know how you want to use it. If web apps and access are critical features for you, look elsewhere.

LG- how about a firmware update with flash support? Make a good tv great - Hdtv - Lg - 1080p - Plasma'

Composition Notebooks - notebook, composition book

The "original" old Mead Composition Book is a classic. But recently Mead changed the Composition Book so that it's now worthless. The paper seems like it isn't 100% pure quality tree paper so it's not as smooth to write on, the cover is a messy "plastic-type" cardboard, the black tape comes off in 3 months. I hate these things now.

I bought 50 of these "new type" Mead Composition Books and the 10 new ones that I still have left, have rotted and the black tape has warped and come off. The 40 that I used up with writing, have also rotted and the black tape has come off. It's a real mess if you store them in old bookshelves. Some are made in India or Brazil and none are no longer made in the USA. The USA ones were the absolute best, with real tree paper, not "plastic-wax type" mesh waste paper, and real tree cardboard covers.

If you need fairly adequate paper to write on, get Japanese Stationery (ex: Apica Notebooks), Rhodia, Rediform DaVinci Notebooks, Leuchtturm Notebooks, Black n' Red Notebooks, or Clairefontaine, they're very good and of high quality. The paper is of a high standard.

Also, Moleskine Cahier Large Ruled Notebook (set of 3) and Writersblok Medium Ruled Notebook (set of 3), are good substitutes, of higher quality, for the Mead Black Composition Book if you're a writer like I am. It costs more but if you're a writer who needs decent paper to write on, it's well worth it.

If you're just using the Mead Black Composition Book for school notes, doodling or odd ends, it's at least useable with a good pen.

The "original" old Mead Composition Book didn't need to be changed. Bring it back.

Moleskine Ruled Cahier Journal Kraft Large: set of 3 Ruled Journals

Writersblok Medium Notebook, Ruled, Pack of 3, 5.5 x 8.25-Inches (WB801) Mead Black Marble Wide-Ruled Composition Book (09910)

The notebook:

The notebook is 100 sheets and it is wide ruled. I find thease handy for everything from a personal notebook to use for school or work. The covers are realatively sturdy, unlike spiral notebooks. The drawback is that you can't rip out pages, because The notebook is bound together by a sturdy thread.

All in all this notebook comes in handy for any purpose or any person.

Recently, I purchased a few of these composition books since my stash of them has been exhausted. These new composition books use flimsier cardboard and the paper isn't as good. When I compare them to my older books, I realize that these new books are not made in the USA. I don't know if this is the cause of the lower quality or maybe some greater use of recycled papers.

In any case, I've decided to move on to Rhodia notebooks. This is unfortunate because I have been using these products since the early 80s when I started kindergarten. Rhodia notebooks are a little bit more expensive, but for my journaling needs are worth it. I believe that Rhodia also uses some recycled paper to create their books.

Please bring back the quality to these books.

and it comes up a good deal. No, this little guy is not your 1970 prep-school notebook. It isn't specificallly designed as a ledger, an attorney's diary, or a government-meeting minutes book. Just lines and a cheap cover, although in the traditional marbled black. But it's one-third of list, for heaven's sake! It isn't what it used to be, but what is?

You've got 100 pages of white ruled paper, suitable for taking and keeping college notes (wish I had), or for quiet cafe sitting when inspiration strikes -- especially if you have nothing to prove (an artist or writer with a Franklin Covey-type leatherbound diary is probably neither). You can rip out a page with impunity if you want to give someone your phone number. Take it or leave it, but if you want to save part of a tree branch you can get, for about twice as much money, a "New Leaf" composition book, 30% recycled. And there's nothing wrong with that, either.

Now, pass the electrician's tape and let's commit posterity!

Mead Composition notebooks used to have nice, thick, sturdy, durable covers. Not anymore. Upon receiving my order, I was appalled to find that these notebooks now have a much thinner cover, which means that they will not stand up to the abuse of younger grade school students (Pre-K - K).

The 09910 Mead Composition Notebook is an excellent notebook.

What's odd is the current pricing on Amazon for offerings by third parties. It turns out that while the listed price per notebook is low, say $1.50, the shipping price per notebook is $5.00-$8.00. The kicker is that shipping costs don't go down if you buy in bulk: you still pay $5.00-$8.00 per notebook if you buy 10 notebooks. You'll pay as much or more for "shipping" as you will for the listed price of the notebook. Bottom line: the "listed" price is used to draw you in, but the vendor makes their profit in the "shipping charges".

I've found that the best pricing that includes shipping is around $3.00-$3.50 per notebook with shipping included, if you buy in bulk (e.g. 10 notebooks at once).

Nothing wrong or illegal being done here. But the vendor (and implicitly Amazon) are not necessarily giving you the best value. You still need to shop around. - Composition Book - Mead - Composition Notebooks - Notebook'

Crime Drama - drama, mystery

Ben Affleck has written (with Aaron Stockard) a superb screenplay adaptation of Dennis Lahane's novel GONE BABY GONE and has proceeded to direct this tough tale with an ensemble cast of both well-known actors and unknown actors and walk-ons from the streets of the Boston area where they grisly story takes place. The result is a film so well tuned and realistic with a perfect sense of pacing and character development that it becomes a remarkable calling card for Ben Affleck's career as a director. That it is going unnoticed (with the exception of Amy Ryan's nomination for Best Supporting Actress) by the Oscars is a grave oversight !

The time is contemporary Dorchester, Massachusetts and Patrick Kenzie (Casey Affleck) and his girlfriend/partner Angie Gennaro (Michelle Monaghan), become aware of a missing child Amanda (Madeline O'Brien) in their own neighborhood. The child's aunt Bea (Amy Madigan) and uncle Lionel (Titus Welliver), unable to cope with Amanda's drugged out mother Helene (Amy Ryan), knock on Patrick and Angie's door, pleading with them to help find Amanda: Patrick and Angie are private detectives who just happen to be an integral part of the neighborhood. Reluctant at first to become involved in the now 3-day police hunt for the child, a hunt headed by the respected Captain Jack Doyle (Morgan Freeman) who his lost his own daughter in similar circumstances and detectives Remy Bressant (Ed Harris) and Nick Poole (John Ashton) and who as a triad feel they are competent to handle the case without the 'immature experience' of the young couple. But Patrick and Angie do become involved, uncover leads within the neighborhood that lead to the clues behind the missing child incident and in doing so, unravel a lot of corruption within the police force, and also discover differences between themselves that threaten their otherwise close relationship. To say more would remove the incredible tension this story maintains all the way to the fadeout credits.

The cast is uniformly excellent, from the smallest roles to the most major ones. It is difficult to single out any performer for praise as this is truly an ensemble piece. The flavor of the film is honest, unflinching, and refuses to ignore the grotesque incidents that must be shown for the movie to maintain its impact. Writer Dennis Lahane ('Mystic River', 'Shutter Island') is a master of detailing the spectrum of responses that ugly matters induce: even the most noble of intentions have their shadowy side. Affleck finds all of this in this excellent film, a film so strong that it easily bears repeated viewings. Highly recommended...but not for the squeamish. Grady Harp, February 08 Gone Baby Gone

I'm going to be honest, I really wasn't overly exited to see "Gone Baby Gone." From the previews, it looked like a competent--if familiar--genre picture. I was galvanized, finally, to see the film based on Amy Ryan's practical sweep of the award season's Best Supporting Actress Prizes. The Affleck brothers, Ben as Director and Casey as Star, did nothing to alleviate my limited expectations. But something quite unexpected happened--my opinion completely changed as I was caught up in the twists of this genuinely good sleeper. Ben Affleck has generated a brisk, tough and uncompromising film and Casey Affleck has turned himself into a bona fide leading man! And although not a flawless film, I ended up loving "Gone Baby Gone."

When a child goes missing, the community of Dorchester gets caught in a media frenzy. With Morgan Freeman and Ed Harris as officials in charge of the investigation, Casey Affleck (as a local detective) is brought in by the family as additional help. Having been raised in the area, it is felt that these contacts may give him better access to and communication with the tightlipped Boston neighborhood. Immediately, the story starts to unravel and the sympathetic mother (Amy Ryan) turns out to be not so sympathetic. The route the film follows takes us to some familiar territory but also to unchartered waters. The film dares to raise moral and ethical questions and presents a terrific and thoroughly uncompromising ending! The film's final moments put this head and shoulders above traditional Hollywood product. And I give Ben Affleck full credit for not bending to a more stereotypical conclusion.

"Gone Baby Gone" is actually the fourth in a series of novels by crime writer Dennis Lehane featuring private detectives Patrick Kenzie and Angela Gennaro. It is, however, the first to be treated to a big screen adaptation. Those familiar with the novels know that the Kenzie/Gennaro dynamic provides much emotion and conflict. Their relationship is almost as important as any case that they work. Fans of this aspect of Lehane's novels, therefore, might be a bit disappointed. In making this stand-alone film, Gennaro is largely marginalized and the impact of what happens to them as a couple isn't as significant to the story as it is in the book. That said, film and novels are two different mediums and "Gone Baby Gone" as a film still works exceedingly well in its own right.

Casey Affleck is not the conventional actor one would picture for this role. Small in stature, relaxed in delivery--his offbeat presence actually makes "Gone Baby Gone" even more intriguing. As he is not a predictable "leading man," you're never quite sure what he's going to do. I found this lack of expectation to be quite invigorating and led me to accept and appreciate the twists of the film to a greater degree. With "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford," this was Casey's year to redefine himself. Freeman, Harris, Ryan, Amy Madigan, and Michelle Monaghan (as Gennaro) all give impassioned performances. With a tight script and solid direction, "Gone Baby Gone" is a surprisingly tough film--and I mean that in all the best ways. Highly recommended. KGHarris, 01/08. - Mystery - Drama'

I installed these blades as replacements on my Delta 22-540 planer and was very pleased with how sharp they were and how easy it was to install them. Once installed these knives have done a great job for me on red oak, q/s white oak, pine, and poplar.

I have owned this planer for years now and I find that these double edged knives are a great value. By flipping them over when they get dull they last me a long time. DELTA 22-547 12-Inch Steel Knife Set for 22-540 Planer

I live near a city of over 100,000 people and could not find this type blades anywhere in the city. I found them at Amazon.Com, ordered them and they arrived at my home in a very timely manner. Thank you, Amazon.Com

Someody forgot to harden the steel used in these knives. The previous Delta knives lasted for 1000s of feet of use...I was lucky if I got 1000' w/ these, even with flipping them. Knots never have been a problem. With these knives pine knots dinged them repeatedly. Don't waste your $.

I used one side of the blades to plane pine wood. The boards were 4 in. wide, about 1/2 inch thick and approx. 6 ft long. I planes them down to about 3/8 in. I did about 8 pieces. All went well but one board had many knots in it and it chipped the blade. Seems great for wood with few knots in it.

After lengthy shopping for the lowest price on a set of replacement planer blades, I found that Amazon had the best price. These were genuine replacement parts so there was no sacrificing quality for price. The shipment arrived when I was told it would. - Woodworking Tool'

Wool Emergency Blanket

These are great blankets for my disaster kit. They are big and thick enough for our wet/rainy Seattle winters. There is one little problem though. They are advertised as "Made in the USA", however, right there on the label, they are made in India. This isn't a big deal for me, but for some of you out there it might be. I think the product description should be an accurate representation of the product. Imagine that. I'd still buy them though. GREY 50% WOOL RESCUE BLANKET

For my emergency car supplies, I bought a few of these. Heavy. Warm. Dark color doesn't show the dirt. A good value. At 80" long, covers the toes of all but the tallest of people. If it's like other wool blankets, avoid washing it - they shrink quite a bit. I should get a few more for the house.....

I ordered four blnkets. The blankets are thin and of inferior quality. In addition, one of the blankets was cut thru when the package arrived and unusable. When I complained about it the vendor made me feel that they will replace it three weeks ago but so far nothing has happened. Really disappointed getting stuck with this product.

made in india, 55% wool / 45% Synthetic. They are not soft, if you itch easily, get fleece. have strong chemical odor, I am tempted to wash them but afraid they will shrink. label says dry clean only but dry cleaning will cost more than the blanket. I was hoping for something a little better but I guess you get what you pay for.

i bought this wool blanket for camping because its easier to carry than a sleeping bag and i like the idea of old school camping. i used it and it was itchy but very warm. when i lived in my friends house i had to house heating in my room and i didnt want to use power i just put this between my sheets and comforter and stayed warm all night. always useful to have and less noisey than the thermal blackets.

The blanket pretty much looked like the picture and was in good condition. The only thing I couldn't get past was the smell of it. Not sure why any company would want to sell a blanket that smells so bad. Can't they make something fire retardant without having it smell so bad. You may rescue someone with it but then you kill them with the smell when you wrap it around them. I had wanted a blanket to replace an old wool navy blanket that I had lost - guess I will just have to go to the army navy surplus store or got for a different kind material or a higher priced wool blanket. I had to end up tossing the thing out - the smell was too horrible. I should have listened to the other reviews but I was hoping it wasn't going to be as bad as they said - it was far worse.

Seems these are a little different for everyone. Yes, mine is made in india too, 52% recycled wool, 48% man-made fibers. Tag (in addition to having an @aol email address for RMAs) states it can be machine washed cold/gentle and tumble dried low OR dry clean. And TRUST ME you'll need to wash this thing.

Disclaimer, i'm new to wool. When I opened this thing, it stunk. From what i've read from some googling wool does have the tendency to suck up odors... But imagine you go fishing and catch a few fish, put them in a cooler and bring them home, you take the fish inside but leave the cooler outside to bake in the hot sun for a couple days in 90 deg heat... I'm not exaggerating, it was that bad.

So I immediately washed it per the instructions. As expected it 'shed' a bit, but after it was dried the terrible smell was gone, but it still has it's own musk to it which is ok. (after you wash it, the 'shedding' bits will be everywhere, take it outside and give it a few waves in the air, most will fall off leaving fewer to clog your lint trap immediately.)

I'm not sure you can find them any less expensive for the purpose they will serve (as a backup blanket to stow away somewhere). So I'm content with the purchase.'

Ge Water Filter - ge water filter, water filter

All three replacement filters from FiltersFast exhibit issues. Poor water flow and squeal from inside the fridge. Replaced new filter with old one and all is fine. New filters are different on the insert - old ones had one large hole with multiple tiny holes around it. New ones have one large hole and two slotted holes on each side. All three new ones are lousy. Takes 45-60 seconds to fill a standard 8oz glass. Not acceptable. Called GE directly who said no change has been made to product line. Bought two more in town, one from Sears, another from HH Gregg. Both have the same design as the new ones from FiltersFast and are also lousy.

I have resorted to using the filter plug in order to have decent water flow. The filter design has obviously changed and either GE is not admitting to it or their representatives are ignorant to the change.

I hate my fridge now and currently using a Brita pitcher filter on the counter top. Neither Filtersfast, Sears or HH Gregg will accept a return. I'm now a proud owner of six new filters, over $200 in cost, that won't work worth a flip. Oh, and those of you who want to repeat what GE told me over the phone - yes, both the old filter with the tiny holes and the bypass plug work fine. There is NO clog in the water line. It's the lousy new filters that GE is pushing to all the vendors. GE MSWF Refrigerator Water Filter, 1 Pack

Water tastes salty post installation. Water did not taste like that with previous factory installed filter. My tap water does not taste salty unfiltered. Probably would not buy again. Would purchase filter next time from an authorized GE dealer.

**UPDATE - Seller contacted me after this review and offered to send me a replacement filter, free of charge and free shipping. It arrived VERY quickly (within 3 days of the email). New filter works great, so the 1st filter problem must have just been a fluke. I would order from this seller again. Good product and great customer service.

I live in the Tucson, AZ area and our water is very hard. I test my water regularly out of the tap and it shows 240. I test the water out of my R/O system and it tests at 22. The water coming out of my ref with the GE filter which comes from the R/0 system is 20. I have the cleanest water in our neighborhood. The only issue I had was the GE filter took a couple of months to get back to "normal" testing range. When I fist installed it, the water tested at 40. Now that it's back to "normal" I'm pleased. Also the install was easy - reading the simple directions took longer that the install. You just twist off the old one and twist on the new one and then run about 5 gallons through the system.

GE, why are you doing this to us?!

Yes, your filter is great and the water coming out of it tastes great.

Yes, the fridge that is attached to this filter is awesome too.

But why is this filter still so expensive if we need to exchange it every few months?

This is one of the better water filters I've used. I think one goes much further than the stated 300 gallon service capacity. At least I've used them for over that amount without issue. When you change filters, the flow acts funny for about the first half gallon - that's normal. Some filters produce cloudy-looking water for the first gallon, but this one doesn't. I've had no issues with these filters. This is by far the simplest, most secure and easiest filter to install that I've experienced. Also, I didn't find a better deal anywhere else including the manufacturer's site.

What is there to be said about a water filter? The water filter lasts about 1-2 yrs before needing replacement.

I found this retailer to be cheaper by far than buying the item locally. Additionally, since the price was over $25.00, I got free shipping. Saved my having to drive about 8 miles each way to Lowe's, which is the only place I can find this thing, plus my aggravation of sitting in this bumper to bumper traffic - buying this online was a no-brainer!!

In seconds I ordered the item (I'm pre-registered from prior purchases, so the order form was populated automatically). Literally, the entire transaction was under 2 minutes. I received the filter in 2 days, which I thought was incredible, since I ordered it at approximately 8:30+ in the evening!

That's it - easy ordering, incredibly fast shipping, filter works - what more can I ask for! - Filters - Ge Water Filter - Water Filter - Fridge Filter'

Earrings - earrings, freshwater pearls

I am in my mid-twenties and found these to be a good size, color, and shape for me. The size is a button, which means it's rounded with a flatter top as a button would have (commonly used with stud earrings). I think pearl stud earrings are an important item for any woman to own, as they are so easy to wear and add a touch of sophistication to any outfit. I would recommend these pearls, either as a gift to someone, or as a gift to yourself. Sterling Silver White Freshwater Cultured Pearl Button Stud Earrings (6.5x7mm)

I purchased these as a small Christmas gift for a relative. They were beautiful, and I was extremely surprised! I have purchased much more expensive pearl studs in the past for myself, and these are of similar quality. The pearl surface was smooth and free of any noticeable blemishes. My only complaint is the packaging. They come in a drawstring pouch, not an earring display box. For most people this is no big deal, but if you like a nicer presentation as a gift, you might want to purchase an inexpensive earring box.

I bought these for a co-worker . She's nearly 70, and she always brings me food during our third shift break. This was my way of saying thank you at Christmas. The price seemed appropriate for a small gift to a co-worker.

You can't go wrong with pearls. They're classy enough to go with formal wear, and conservative enough that people won't find them distasteful or tacky. Plus white goes with any color.

These pearls have a beautiful luster and are very white. I really expected them to be a bit smaller and was pleasantly surprised by their great quality. Order them, you won't be disappointed! (They come inside a dark blue velvet bag and a box, too.) - Freshwater Pearls - Earrings - Jewerly - Pearls'

Labels - label, dvd labels

well, i purchase this thought it would work ok. should have listen to other reviewed. i used for both laser and inkjet printer both come out the quality is so bad. the ink fallen off the paper. and the software indeed really hard to work with try to center my work. dont want to recommend to anyone. rather buy another brand.. Printworks White Matte Inkjet and Laser CD/DVD Labels, 100% Recycled, 10 Sheets, 20 Face Labels/Box, 40 Spine Labels/Box, (00678)

The labels themselves are ok but the templates for this product are the worst I've seen. Besides being just blank templates - the labels do not print right using them. I've spent hours trying to get the layout right & have virtually wasted the entire set on alignment issues. I do not typically write reviews but have been so frustrated by my experience I thought it worthy to warn other buyers. I will NOT buy this brand EVER again. - Label - Dvd Labels - Cd Labels - Cd Label Maker'

Maroon 5

When I remember I had the chance to see these guys play a bar. A bar! They closed for Jason Mraz. My only consolation is that I was 16 and was, obviously, not the driver for the night, so it was somebody else's bad decision to go home. A driver's license is a great thing.

"Hands all Over" is wall to wall muscular rocky pop with thoughtful lyrics and groovy melodies that go down easier than lemonade on a sticky summer afternoon.

The moody lead single "Misery," with its lyrics and melody in wedded bliss, enters the head and simply will not leave. It is far from the only such track on the CD.

"Give a Little More" sparkles and shimmers with Adam Levine's smooth, soulful crooning (including vocal flourishes that bring Michael Jackson to mind) and frenetic, dance floor-ready energy, while the yearning ballad "Never Gonna Leave This Bed" is likely to burn up both radio playlists and the hearts of (mostly female) listeners.

"I Can't Lie" is immaculately arranged and produced with a pop-savvy fusion of doo-wop and indie rock flavorings, while the title track is an intriguing lesson in contrast - icy in texture and arrangement, with hard guitars and pronounced drums, but stark and vulnerable in its lyrics. "Out of Goodbyes" with Lady Antebellum is a saddening slow-burn.

"Runaway" pulses and seethes under the weight of its nervous energy as Levine sings of the pain of being deserted by his love without an explanation ("But I can't tell you if you run away, runaway"), and the forceful, idiosyncratic, downright infectious "Get Back in My Life" would sound particularly well among the tunes on 2002's "Songs About Jane."

There are so many strong moments here that it is difficult to pinpoint particular highlights. This is not the kind of album to spin before bedtime. One of these catchy melodies is bound to induce insomnia.

The deluxe edition extra tracks are worthwhile. "Last Chance" is a slow-burning rumination on tactile pleasures - it would have made an excellent B-side in the days of CD singles. The slightly overproduced but remarkably impassioned "No Curtain Call" is just as strong.

The acoustic renditions are so breathy, organic and well-wrought (especially "Never Gonna Leave This Bed") that a whole disc of these would have been welcome, and their live recording of Alicia Keys' "If I Ain't Got You" pays the R&B songstress a great compliment with its sincere, soul-searching approach that emphasizes the poetic brilliance of her lyrics.

Against all odds in 2010, Maroon 5 are a perfectly solid group of musicians who can hit the Top 40 and fill major concert halls without selling out. "Hands all Over" was clearly labored over, and it is worth your time and money. Hands All Over [+Digital Booklet]

One month. Two favorite bands. Two new, long-awaited albums. One kicks ass, one sadly disappoints. If you'd told me Kings of Leon and Maroon 5, I'd have bet that KOL was the winner. Wrong-o. My wife, myself, and our two daughters agree on little when it comes to music, but all 4 of us can't stop playing Hands All Over. Even the dog perks up when Misery comes on.

Serious stuff? Nah. Polished, fun, danceable? Big time. Best party album since The Ting Tings. It's even stopped certain family members from playing Lady Gaga all day. If for no other reason, I'd give this 5 stars.

Mutt Lange has a knack for making it all sound effortless. He knows the formula and can turn out tunes with that "fresh from the farm" feel. This is a good and bad thing. For years he spent glossing up the hits for Shania Twain but you don't have to look far into the Twain cataloge to see that the content is about as deep as a puddle.

"Man! I Feel Like A Woman!" "Don't Be Stupid, You Know I Love You!"

Not exactly profound word play. But the man is a radio friendly hit-machine with those not searching too deep for quality.

But, I digress. Lange didn't write the songs on Hands All Over but he might as well have. With the exception of a few tunes, everything has been done before and done better. HAO is really all over the place. The lack of any cohesion isn't the problem, though nothing fits together. The downside for me was the overwhelming corniness.

"Misery" has a catchy hook, perfectly crafted for radio but something screams "This Love 2010". I like it for what it is - radio friendly.

"Get Back In My Life" is Squeeze-revisited. Squeeze circa 1985. Bouncy, lively and only missing the cheeky delivery of Glenn Tilford.

"Out Of Goodbyes", featuring Lady Antebellum, starts out like a weeper and ends in a wimper. What should be a harmonious blending of vocals turns monotone fast.

"Hands All Over" tries really hard to be an anthem. The lyrics are really cheesy and, diehards might not agree, it lacks any sex appeal M5 fans come to expect. With a title like that, I sort of expected the signature "obscure dirty".

This isn't a hand on a thigh. It's a pat on the head.

"Last Chance"...seriously? The lyrics are just oh-so-bad.

"I bet that he could give your everything/Stability and diamonds rings/All the things I do not have/I know you can't handle that."

"I Can't Lie" is growing on me but it sounds dated. I've heard this before, much like "Get Back In My Life". Only this time, it's more Motown then Brit pop. I could hear Smokey Robinson singing this. In 1965.

"Never Gonna Leave This Bed" could've been recorded by Journey. Of course, it would've been a little faster and far more passionate.

"Stutter" sounds like a novelty tune in the same vein as "Stacy's Mom" by Bowling For Soup. I expect a video of all the boys, leaning on a wall, snapping their finger in unison while wearing Ray Bans and leg warmers.

"Give A Little More" is perhaps the best song on the album. Adam Levine's voice is flawless. This is HAO's "Makes Me Wonder". A little funky, a little sexy and alot catchy.

"No Curtain Call" (available on the deluxe edition) is my second favorite song on the album. No sure why this wasn't part of the original 12 tunes selected because it should be. It's far more captivating than alot of the songs that made the original cut.

The acoustic verison of "Misery" (available on the deluxe edition) is a huge letdown. This is where Lange's production comes in. Acoustic usually feels a little more free-form, a little edgier. This acoustic tale doesn't feel acoustic at all; like it's not instruments but a generic digital recording. A music bed you would hear in a commercial for Pringles.

Lastly, the cover of Alicia Keys "If I Ain't Got You" is lovely and safe. Levine's voice is in fine form. It's a straight forward cover. No special M5 infused flavor. I'm not a Keys fan, so I have to say M5's cover is far superior to her yelling/singing.

All and all...a bit of a letdown. There are a few sparkling gems but missing is that signature M5 smirk. Like your privy to the inside joke. With "Songs About Jane" and "It Won't Be Soon Before Long", I felt like we got into the mind of the band and for 45-50 minutes, hung out. HAO is all formula with little payoff.

3 stars for Adam Levine's voice and the few tunes that deliver the happy ending.'

Toro Electric Snow Blower - snow blower, electric snow blower

US Wire 99100 12/3 100-Foot SJEOW TPE Cold Weather Extension Cord Blue with Lighted Plug is very flexible in extreme cold weather. Easy to roll up. Easy to use with snow blower because it is flexible. Plugged into 20 amp breaker. 12/3 cord lets you have full power whereas liter cords cut down on power, and more apt to make breaker kick out. Love the lighted plug which lets me know I have current. US Wire 99100 12/3 100-Foot SJEOW TPE Cold Weather Extension Cord Blue with Lighted Plug

nicely constructed. flexible and thick. lighted end. Would have been nicer if the ends locked what was being plugged in like the craftsman lighted extension cord does. Overall good extension cord. Great price. Durable and flexible. using it for mobile DJ work. Have three sizes from the same company.

I bought this extension cord in exchange for the lighter duty Coleman 14/3 gauge 100' cord. This heavier duty cord worked great for my new Toro 15 amp snow thrower. The lighted end was nice to ensure I had power at the plug. It did kink a couple of times during its first use on a cold day while it was laying in snow, but I expect it will not do that once it's been wound and unwound on a reel several times. I also like that I was able to buy a product made in the USA. Shipping was very fast and it arrived in perfect condition.

I purchased this item based on the positive reviews. I am REALLY impressed with the quality of this extension cord. I will be using this cord with an electric snow blower. I did a lot of research to find a cord that is high quality and still highly flexible when cold. This cord fits the bill to a T.

I checked out all the 12/3 100 ft extension cords at Lowes, Home Depot, Costco, Meijer, Walmart, Ace Hardware, and ACO Hardware. Looking at all those places, I just couldn't find a cord that I was satisfied with. I found some nice cords, but none had the flexibility I wanted in very cold weather. I even purchased a few that seemed OK and brought them home to put in the garage to see how flexible they would be after sitting in the cold. Let's just say I ended up returning them all (three different cords total).

Of the various cords I checked out, this is the highest quality of them all. On top of that, you can't beat the feel-good factor knowing it is made in the USA. Can't say that about many products anymore. The price is comparable to others and the weight is the same as others I looked at. Really glad I made this purchase!

It has become a vital part of my New Hampshire "winter survival stratagy"! Does exactly what it says; stays flexible and carries lots of electricity because it's 12 ga. I've been operating an electric chain saw 300ft from the house with no noticeable strain on the saw.

One small thing I should mention that may not be obvious: The jacket is a little "sticky" when it's not so cold out. When I use it in summer, I have to spend extra time uncoiling it because it tends to form tangles that won't come out just by tugging on it.

This cord ain't cheap and there are cheaper options if all you need is quality 12/3 extension cord.

HOWEVER if you need an extension cord that will give full voltage @ 100 feet AND full flexibility in sub-zero temps spend the money and buy it. The lighted plugs are a nice touch. I thought it was gimmicky until I remembered just how ugly it is walking through 3 feet of snow to make sure a cord was still plugger in. Best story: I left the thing out overnight during one of last months blizzards; the next day it was flexible, coiled w/o problem and showed no voltage drop later that day when I plugged it back in.

Bottom line: Spend the money and buy it IF you need it for cold weather, if not buy something cheaper

I bought this a few months back. I must say it is very well made & the lighted end, really comes in handy. I use it to run to my shed at the back of my property. To use for lighting & to start my snowblower. I like it so much I may buy a few more in different lengths for other purposes.

I bought this 12/3 100' cord for my new snowblower - Greenworks 26032 20-Inch 12 Amp Electric Snow Thrower. I've used it about 4 times and it's been nice and flexible every time. My garage is below freezing and the cord hasn't freezed up yet..

I use an old hose winder to keep it winded up.

Happy with my purchase!

We have been using this cable all winter to flood a rink on the St. Lawrence river in Canada. Even through the cold snaps at -40C this cable remains extremely flexible, making it a breeze to gather up after. We leave it out for the weekends laying in the snow, and it's still flexible.
