Excellent Product

I was very pleased with this product. After trying to use standard vacuums in my business of cleaning foreclosed homes we needed something better. I am happy with the handle that folds down for easier transporting in the back of my truck. This has a silent mode when needed, and a booster for extra heavily soiled carpet. It uses a heavy cord which comes with it.I would recommend this vacuum for both home & business. Hoover C1660-900 Hush Bagless Upright

I picked this up for our office cleaning service to use but tried it out when I first unpacked it. If I had seen it before I got my Dyson, I would have chosen it instead because it is self propelled. When the cleaning lady tried it, she said it was "awesome."

I bought this vacuum in December for my cleaning business, it is great. My clients like how it picks up and leaves fresh vacuum lines in the carpet. It empties easy, it cleans easy. I bought washable filters, those are awesome. The cord is 40 feet, it could be longer for some houses, it does not wrap around the cord winder very well, it falls out all the time. I just bought another one for my back up. This is the first vacuum that I have owned for my business that has not broke down in the first 3 months. I would keep buying this if they keep selling them. I would like to buy one for my own use at my house. I need to wait for my other one to go out.'

Laptop Backpack - laptop backpack, 17 inch laptop

This has the potential to be a great bag, but doesn't quite get there. I replaced a 7-year old Targus backpack that finally gave out, after >100,000 miles of air travel - the zipper for the main laptop compartment broke. Great product, so I thought - we'll go with Targus again.

Wrong. This bag had potential - TONS of storage, lots of pockets, some nice features advertised, so I ordered it. When it arrived, I noticed a significant decline in quality - the nylon is thinner, cheaper, and the laptop storage compartment has almost no padding to speak of. The zippers are cheap - go back to YKKs or at least something with a substantial track and closure mechanism - these won't last.

Targus also advertises a key clip in the front organizer pocket. WRONG - it's NOT there, even though Amazon.com and Targus' website both state that it exists. They've taken it out (likely to cut costs), and this a huge negative for me. Who wants to dig around in their bag after coming home from a week-long trip, standing in a hot parking garage after being on a crowded plane and in airports all days, trying to find their keys? I need those keys to be where they are easily accessible and always in the same spot. That was the primary driver for my old Targus bag - I needed that, and it had one.

On the plus side of things, this bag will hold all but the biggest laptops - guess that's why the padding is so insignificant. The expandable pocket on the front might come in handy - for something purchased last minute that I can't get into my carry-on or checked bag. There are four organizer pockets, ranging in size from gianormous to about the size of a CD case; there are two smaller zippered pockets for change, lip balm, pens, etc., and the side compartments - 1 for a water bottle, 1 for sunglasses/cell phone/PDA are nice.

Debated returning it just because of the key clip - that's a deal-breaker for me, but got a large caribiner clip and we'll see how that works out. If I hate it, back it goes. I also moved over my sunglasses case and the little LED flashlight on the retractable cord, from my old bag - those are things I have to have. Too hard to find something in the bottom of black bag, on a night flight, without that, and my glasses will get crushed in the side pocket.

Shame on Targus - they've always made a quality product - well, at least up until now. I don't expect this bag to last more than a year or two, so I may just move over to Swissgear. Not impressed. I'm traveling tomorrow and plan to move the padding from my old bag over into this one - I just don't think it's sufficient to protect my laptop as-is.

Good luck in your search - hope this helps you make a decision one way or the other. Targus CityGear Backpack Case for 17 Inch Notebooks TCG216 (Black with Grey)

So I needed a very large capacity backpack with a compartment to safely carry a 15 inch laptop, and I got it. Ample space, and its not cluttered up with file organizers, or zippered pouches, or any of that crap which you will almost never use which just ruins the space, so that was good. It doesn't seem cheap, just thin and almost weak. I have it loaded down with 4 text books, all my school supplies, and a laptop, and it is holding up fine, I think it could have been made a little 'sturdier' is all. I'm not disappointed at all though. Good bag if you need to carry a library on your back.

I've only had this bag for less than a couple weeks, so there's still quite a few uncertainties about this bag in terms of durability and longevity. Nonetheless, I have to admit too... this pack is HUUUGE!!! I'm currently only using it for school, in which this bag has more storage space than I'll probably ever need. On the other hand, it also has great potential for traveling, and may offer just enough space, organization, and convenience for a carry-on or weekend getaway. I have a 17" MacBook Pro that fits very easily with ample room to spare. However, I wonder if the 15.4" backpack would've been more snug and just right for the laptop, or maybe too small. The only thing I would've changed was put more velcro on beneath the strap in order to reduce the excess space inside the laptop pocket. Hence, I'm getting a sleeve in order to "fill" that space and for extra padding and Protection of my laptop. Other than that, the backpack does look very nice and stylish, feels very comfortable and lightweight. I just hope the material used to make it that light does not compromise its durability and longevity. But only time will tell I guess.

This bag is a great bag. It has plenty of pockets and space to fit not only by 17 inch laptop, but also all the cords and books I need to carry on a daily basis. I've flown with this bag a couple of times and it fits in the overhead bins very well. It has pockets for the mp3 player, and mouse pocket and water bottle holder. A great bag at a great deal.

Bought this bag to carry my laptop and change of clothes for exercising after work. This product is just what the doctor ordered, it eats up everything that I throw into it and still has room for more. Well constructed and feels very sturdy. Lots of pockets and hiding spaces. Would recommend highly.

It is great for work or school. There are many pockets to store items in. The straps provide comfortability and it doesn't pull on your back too much. The quality of the bag is great as well. I loved the price Amazon offered it at!

This is one great bag. I knew it was a large bag but didn't realize its actual size until I opened it. It holds plenty of books for my classes as well as a full wardrobe when I'm taking small trips. I was happy to get such a great price on the bag, I just hope it holds up like it's supposed to.

My recommendation? Buy it, you wont be disappointed.

I had been looking for a backpack large enough for my large HP DV8T laptop, and this one fits the bill really well. Plenty of room for all kinds of accessories, with room for the kitchen sink too! Seems to be well made, but sinceI've only had it for a couple of months, it's a bit to early to say if it will hold up to heavy use. I think it's a winner. - Computer Backpack - Targus - Laptop Backpack - 17 Inch Laptop'

Ankle Weights

I wear these around the house all day long (I am a 62 year old female)...walking, up and down the stairs, doing leg lifts side to side and back kicks, front kicks. My legs are more toned and finally strong (I had really weak legs). When I go out without the weights on my ankles, I can walk forever! Well worth the price. One hint: if the weight beads become hard and hurt your ankles, just take a small hammer and "pound" the beads lightly to loosen them. Sometimes the beads meld together and harden, but easily soften after "mushing" them. I have had these for months and they still are like new. No wear and tear at all! My daughter used them to train for months before she entered "Tough Mudders". Highly recommend! Reebok Adjustable Ankle Weight (10-Pounds)

I bought these because they were Reebok. But unfortunately having a big brand name is not a guarantee of quality. The fabric began to rub through after less than one week of use. In addition, the iron filings used for weight seemed to have been magnetized, and would congeal into hard painful mass.

I really dislike how the velcro is on these weights. The way the velcro is makes them perpetually slide off your ankle on one part of the weight. I don't understand why they wouldn't have made the velcro extend just a little further. Maybe they aren't designed for people with smaller legs. They are very big and VERY bulky. I bought them to wear under the legs of my pants while at work so I could get toned up while walking back and forth in my busy job. But I can't wear them discreetly under my pants at all, and even if you remove one/some of the weights (a nice enough feature) they are STILL too big to fit under your pants. I'm talking Hulk huge. But they are good quality. I'd also have liked if the weights had some sort of buffer so they weren't rubbing on your ankle bone but I suppose that would make them even bulkier. It's got to be a trade-off for a larger amount of weight, I suppose. The biggest issue IMO is the stupid velcro straps! They won't secure to part of the weight.

Well they're approximately 5 pounds each and they attach to your ankles with the straps, that's what is advertised. At first when I felt the material on the weights inside I didn't know if it would hold up for extended usage so I wrapped the weight pouches with a few layers of duct tape, no more worries there

I got these today hoping to take my work-out to the next level and I couldn't even wear them for more than 20 Minutes. They HURT so much! The sand bags feel like wearing a bear trap around my legs. Very, very uncomfortable. I will be returning them.

This is gotta be one of the nicer comfortable ankle weights out there. I've used the blue plastiky ankle weights at the rec and must say these are more comfy around your ankles.

The sand bags was a bit difficult to takeout/putin so -1 star. Not sure how often one needs to do this. Otherwise, the straps and cloth material are very nice.

I live on the fourth floor of my dormitory, and we don't have an elevator. It's hard to maintain a regular exercise schedule at university, and the ankle weights are great for getting a little bit of a workout by just putting them on and going through my daily routine!

I really like that the weights themselves are sandbags, so they form to the shape of your ankle after a few steps, and that they're easy to put on and take off. The only thing I would warn other potential buyers about is that they do take some getting used to, and if you don't wear them with socks, they tend to chafe. Also, be careful when wearing them -- if you use these weights correctly, they'll be great, but if you don't pay attention to how they change the way you move and work to correct it, you can do some serious damage to your knees. The added momentum when stepping forward can hyper-extend the knee and lead to repetitive-motion injuries.

As long as you're careful, though, and use these correctly, they're great. Two thumbs up.

I bought these years ago...used to use them quite a bit, just now fished them out of the closet again. Mine came from a Big 5 store.

They're pretty versatile...yeah, you can use them on your ankles but I've used them rolled up as hand weights, and, if you put them together, you can put them around your waist which doesn't tone anything in particular, but still makes you work harder if you're doing squats and lunges.

Really useful and I haven't seen a great many better solutions.

The biggest issues I have with wearing them often are that they get uncomfortable..it would be nice if there was some gel padding but there's not...just a fabric with sandbags which form hard spots. They especially hurt over the ankle bones. The fabric is rough too (some synthetic like what they make gym bags out of) and if you don't wear socks it can chaff.

Finally, I don't think I have super small ankles (female in my 20s), but I generally use them with all the sandbags. It's a good thing too or they'd fall off. Even at the "tightest" setting, they still tend to slip down. Only my sneakers really hold them up. If I'm barefoot (around the apartment) they'll scrape the ground like socks that won't stay up.

These are well made and do the job. However there are two things I don't like about them. They are adjustable, but not enough. When the product description says "adjustable from 1-5 lbs" I assumed that meant I would have the option for 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 pounds. Unfortunately there are only 4 weights of 1.25 lbs each. For a small amount of weight overall, jumping up by 1.25 lbs is a lot. Now that I have these and have tried them, not only would 1 lb increments be better, but I think I'd prefer 1/2 lb increments.

My other issue with them is that the weights are bags of sand, and if you frequently need to adjust the weight (I do in every workout), it's a bit too difficult to stuff bags of sand in and out because they take a bit of manhandling to coax in. It's not that bad, but too much fuss in the middle of a workout when you're trying not to have much of a break. I think a metal weight would slide in and out much easier. So.... now that I've tried these I'd really prefer metal weights in 1/2 lb increments. I'd return these but I'm worried the return shipping will be so high because it's 10 lbs total that it won't be worth it.'

Best Seen On Blu-ray - michael bay, best seen on blu-ray

There are moments when a concept that is born in the past, becomes fully realized in the future. Some creators can `see' into a future and craft a product that screams out `Told ya!'. George Lucas was like that with Star Wars. Lester Dent, Issac Asimov, and a host of other authors wrote what is now, decades before the real items existed.

Steven Spielberg and Michael Bay, took a hit concept from the 80's and 90's, and with the assistance of exceptional CGI, turned out a movie that surprised film goers around the world.

Transformers' Sam Witwicky, begins this adventure of a lifetime carshopping with Dad. In the Porsche lot, out of the Porsche lot, into the used car lot. Sam learns a valuable lesson from the salesman, you don't choose a car, it chooses you. And so a beat up Camaro chooses his `master', while destroying the car lot. And so Bumblebee enters his life, and soon, a full blown war between the Decepticons and Autobots engulfs his home town.

Not only is there action, but humor as well. Sam, his girlfriend, the US military, and his robot friends exchange barbs like `I bought a car. Turned out to be a robot. Who knew?' And the `discussion' from Sam's mother on why he had to lock the door? `Were you masterbating? Or should we call it your private time.....?' It's touches like that which turn this film from a CGI dominated production into a film you can watch and enjoy.

Sure, it'll re-introduce many of the Transformers back into pop culture. Sure, there will be a sequel. Yes, the comic will come back one more time. And yes, it will be a hit one more time.

Don't forget the toys....

When you go to see a movie like this you are not going to see oscar quality acting. You are going to see fantastic visuals great sound and a lot of stuff blow up. This blu-ray has every thing you need to show off your home theater. Perfect 1080p and flawless 5.1 dolby true hd sound.

I know a bit about transformers, but i haven't really seen much on the shows so no angry comments please. :P

I thought it was a great action movie if you cut out the silly hide and go seek part. The fights were great and they didn't cheap out at any part, (by hiding the transformations behind a building or something). It was simply a great piece to watch as an action flick. Though I know it's pretty different from the show it's just another persons take on it I guess. Though the flame effects on Prime were a bad idea in my mind :\ If you like a good action flick or giant robots, this movie is a fun ride. - 1080p - Michael Bay - Transformers - Best Seen On Blu-ray'

Garmin Nuvi 265w - garmin nuvi 265w, garmin nuvi 265wt

The last GPS I got I couldn't even figure out how to turn on...they have really come a long way as far as ease-of-use. This one...opened the box, easily assembled it onto the base with no directions, plugged it in, turned it on (okay, I had to go to directions for that, but they are very clear), followed all the steps (very intuitive - it walks you through it) and there I was - it had me pinpointed to my exact position in the parking lot - wow. So I plugged in an address, and yes, I'm old-school - I was shocked with this relatively inexpensive machine started TAlKING to me, nice voice too - very clear directions, tells you exactly how far to go before turning. This is the new model, which is why I got it, but it seems to have all the best features discussed in reviews of older models (I read a lot of reviews). Again, I'm not proficient in technology (my 11 year old niece has to help me with my phone and forget an I-Pod) but from my point of view this has all that a typical driver would need - I even think my even less-technically proficient parents would like it and I plan to try it out on them.

Update after a week: The screen shows several things I hadn't noticed, like your speed, the speed limit for the road you are on (some roads, not all roads), the expected time that you will get to the destination, the direction (North, South, East, West) and how far it is in miles. It's not distracting, as these notations are on the perimeter. The voice directions are very good, a warning prior to coming to a turn and then a 'turn left on ____ St.' when you get there and how far it is, as in 'turn left in point-three miles'. And it tells you which side of the street (left or right) your final destination is on, which is very helpful on a busy street.

Also nice is the 'Map' feature: It's simply a map of where you are, showing an automobile icon that moves as you go along...it shows landmarks, street names along with the speed limit and your speed so you don't have to look down at the speedometer and guess if you're going the speed limit and what it is. This can be used even when you don't have a destination plugged in. Plus, the machine saves addresses so you just have to tap on an address from a list of places you've been, instead of retyping it. It also saves the cities, so you can pull it down from a menu instead of typing it in...so I would consider it generally 'user-friendly'.

I got the portable Garmin Friction Mount to hold it in place (it's a beanbag type thing) which is really great, as you can easily stow it on the floor so no one decides to 'borrow it' if they see it on the dashboard. Overall, couldn't be more pleased...this one doesn't have 'traffic alerts', so if you want 'traffic' there is another Garmin model that would be more suitable. Garmin nüvi 265W 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator (without Traffic)

I was amazed at how intuitive and easy it is to use. While traveling to a city in another state I was confronted with a train stopped and blocking the crossing in front of me, blocking my planned route. With confidence in the Garmin I turned around and took another route. It guided me street-by-street and turn-by-turn. I got to my appointment on time. The display is clear, even in bright sunlight. The voice is pleasant, and clearly loud enough to be easily heard.

The only problem I had was in assembling the mount. It requires a really hard push to install the ball socket of the mount into the base. Don't be afraid to break it, as I was at first try. It's designed to close tolerances, to maintain the friction necessary, to hold the Garmin display firmly in position.

Pushing a wide, and easy to access button at the base of the suction cup mount allows you to remove the display and power cord for storage elsewhere when not in use. This is a great security and convenience feature. It has a remote mountable push button remote control that activates and deactivates the voice control feature.

A very useful accessory that is not included is a DC/AC adapter. This device has on one end a male AC plug that plugs into your home duplex AC wall outlet and on the other end a female DC car socket. This adapter will allow you to keep your Garmin's battery fully charged. The battery discharges in about two weeks, with no usage, showing no indicator bars on the battery charge indicator.

The Garmin does contain a USB plug that will allow you to charge the battery via your computer. This works OK, but,it puts an unwanted load on my computers USB power supply. My old cell phone 400 ma rated DC output adapter fully charges the Garmin in under 2 hours. Garmin offers a 1000 ma rated adaptor, as an accessory, for under $20.00.

Bought this item initially for my wife when she has to make trips to Houston. After reading the reviews and deciding our particular needs I chose the nuvi 265 wt . I owned an older Garmin (deluxe IV ) and to be honest I was somewhat disappointed with it and my wife couldn't stand it . It was the sheer number of positive reviews that made me choose a Garmin again. WOW !! this thing is awesome . Took it on a trip to San Antonio and was amazed by it . VERY simple to setup , VERY easy to use . The hardest part was trusting it to direct me accurately due to the experiences with the prior Garmin navigator. It never missed a turn . And with the "points of interest" feature , changing our agenda or adding a stop was a breeze. Also the WT features a traffic information update that informs you with live traffic information ( time delay ) if there is a report along the route your on . Press two buttons and the nuvi will give you a detour option . Miss a turn due to traffic or other mishap and it will automatically recalculate your route from where you are going to get you back on track . The best part is my wife really likes it and even gave it a nickname . Definitely would buy again . - Gps - Garmin Nuvi 265w - Car Gps - Garmin Nuvi 265wt'

Digital Camera

BOTTOM LINE:

With each generation, Canon makes the ELPH series easier to use and still get great results. Like it's predecessors, this one fits easily into your pocket (or the case I recommend toward the end of this review). That point alone may make this the best camera you own; having a $5k DSLR doesn't do you much good if you left it home because it wasn't worth the effort to lug it along.

However, unlike many other small cameras, this one does not sacrifice either features or quality. Well, it does give up on any reasonable manual control, things like setting shutter speed, lens aperture, ISO. What access you do have to that level of control is buried deep inside menus. It took Canon a while to realize that for most of us, if we wanted to fool with that kind of thing on a regular basis, we would be using a different camera. This camera is designed to leverage convenience over extreme control or nth degree quality.

DETAILS:

It is a small camera and carries with it the baggage that comes with the convenience of having to carry so little baggage. (sorry, couldn't resist) None of the issues raised, given that they comes as part of the convenience trade-off made me consider anything other than the 5-star rating this camera deserves.

One issue with all small cameras is the built-in flash. They are all underpowered and create red eye. Both problems are caused by the need to keep the camera small; the flash needs to be small and positioned close to the lens. Canon addresses it by putting in some really good noise reduction so you (actually the camera) can shoot at a relatively high ISO in low light allowing for a faster shutter speed. The result is an image that is both low noise and not blurry. And the best part is the camera takes care of all that so you don't have to. As a result you can take pictures in a well lit room without having to use the flash at all.

- The shutter response, as with any small digital camera for less that $500, is a bit slow for effectively capturing children and pets. The trick for doing that is to either have a great sense of timing and a shutter that reacts instantly or a reasonably fast ( > 4x / sec ) burst mode. This camera has neither.

Some other suggestions that apply:

Normally at this point I would put in some details about manually setting ISO or selecting a color space. However, for this camera it just isn't relevant. You are buying this camera because you want to take great pictures without having to worry about that stuff. If you do want to "take your photography to the next level then a great resource is the Confessions of a Compact Camera Shooter: Get Professional Quality Photos with Your Compact Camera.

Finally, I've found the Caselogic QPB-1 Compact Digital Camera Case (Black/Gray) is just the right size for this camera. It's semi-rigid so you get a fair amount of protection but doesn't add a lot of bulk. It's made even better by using one of these, Nite Ize SB1-2PK-01 Size-1 S-Biner, Black, 2-Pack, to secure it to a belt loop. Canon PowerShot ELPH 100 HS 12.1 MP CMOS Digital Camera with 4X Optical Zoom (Silver)

Just received my Canon ELPH 100 HS {orange} and I absolutely love it. The camera boots up almost instantly. Installed a 16GB SDHC class 10 card and now have 5000+ 12MB photo capacity or 60 minutes for HD video. The image stabilization at max digital zoom 4X4/16x works great! The camera easily fits in my pocket and is very light @ ~5 ounces.

The Canon's Digic 4 processor & CMOS sensor make this camera truly point and shoot. By default it automatically selects the light level, shaking, target focus, shutter speed, flash/noflash and ISO to pick the optimal scene type. Perfect pictures virtually every time when button is correctly pressed 1/2 way (1) before fully in (2) for photo shot. But be sure to get a class 10 card for the best video.

The only 2 minor problems I believe are:

1) It comes with a 700 mAh 3.7 Volt battery instead of the 1400 mAh 3.7 OEM version which doubles it run-time for 230 photos to almost 500 pictures per charge. This is easily fixed when ordering additional batteries just get the larger mAh capacity ones.

2) The CameraWindow transfer software doesn't automatically delete pictures after they are transferred. Some people like this as not to delete photos improperly transferred.(I do not). Some camera blogs suggest a quick format after transfer is the way to quickly delete photos/video after successful transfer.

However, this is the best point and shoot camera I have used and I still think it's a 5 star camera @ $199 MSRP.

I normally use a Nikon D50 which takes great photos, Im no professional but really enjoy taking pictures of my toddler. Well he broke my Nikon and I sent to see if it could be fixed but wanted to point and shoot because they come in really handy! I reviewed what felt like a million cameras, I touched them and felt them and shot pictures with them and hated every single one! I hadnt seen this one online (cause there werent any reviews) but I went to Shutterbug and they had it, I tried it out and loved it! I've had it for a few weeks and I use it everyday! Pictures always turn out amazing! Our house kinda has crappy lighting and its a major problem with pictures, this camera takes the best pictures by far! (not super grainy looking like others) I also wanted to camera that shoots video. I dont use it to shoot professional quality video but Im impressed! Alot better then my last point and shoot. Also my video does autofocus on video mode, so the other viewer might have had a faulty one cause mine does great. I wasnt looking to spend $200 but I'd do it again in a heart beat!

Pros:

powers on so quick

Picture quality

Picture speed (amazing)

low light pictures

video!

Cons:

Samsung Lcd - hdtv, lcd

I searched for a flat-screen tv for a couple of months, and finally chose the 4665. I chose the size of the TV based on my room, and decided 50 was too big and 42 too small. This left me without a decision on plasma vs lcd, which was ok with me. Plasma has more basic issues, and going LCD was not a sacrifice - except I had yet to see a LCD with black blacks, so I was not sure what I would see in the 46" range.

As for price range, I decided that I was going to buy the tv that I was happiest with. It was not that I have unlimited budget, just that I wanted to make sure that I would going to be completely satisfied with a 2-3k purchase. I really only knew about the plasma tv's in 42" 720p, so I had a lot of research to do to understand what to buy.

After reading hundreds of reviews and going to several stores to comparison shop, I was basically down to three Samsung models. I was considering the LN-T4665F, LN-T4661F and the LNS4696. Going straight by the specs, the 4665 looked to be the best because of the 15000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. With this in mind, I was confused to see that BestBuy has the 4696 in their Magnolia section and not the 4665 - my only guess is that it is because the 4665 does not have a cableCard slot.

After lots of playing I was more than happy with each of the TVs, and my choices were narrowed down by wanting more hdmi's right on the set, wanting the best possible contrast, and the glossy screen on the 4665. I have seen several complaints about the glossy screen, however this was a selling feature for me - for the same reason that I ordered a MacBook Pro with the glossy screen - I just think that it makes moves look better. I can deal with reflection during the day to get a picture that I am happier with when watching a movie at night.

I must say that I am extremely impressed so far. I have not had a single image problem yet, and the setup was clearly the worst part of this tv. All-in-all, I am 100% satisfied with this purchase.

So here's my brief summary of the high/low points:

Pros:

1. (3) HDMI inputs

2. Excellent contrast - forget the numbers, as they are fiction - the blacks are black

3. Glossy screen - movies spectacular - Toy Story is mind-blowing!

4. Weight - This is one of the newer, lighter sets

5. Price - Not that this set was cheap, but I liked this over the Sony and would have spent another $1,000 to get a comparable Sony - and I hate the glass around the Sony's

Cons:

1. No cableCard slot - really only matters if you want to mount it on the wall

That's how I see it. I give this TV my highest endorsement. Samsung LNT4665F 46" 1080p LCD HDTV

I'm the guy everyone in my family comes to for product advice, so hopefully my story will help people if they're on the fence. Most of the decision points are the same as other reviews, but here's how I came to my conclusion, and the unbelievable bonus that makes the purchase even better than I could have hoped.

Do I pay extra for 1080p? In the end I voted yes for this. Why? Because at my core I'm a tech guy. I may cheap out when buying certain clothes or pack my own lunch, but when it comes to technology, I want to be ahead of the curve. I buy extra ram for my computer so it will take longer to become obsolete, and the same goes for getting the newer technology for my TV.

LCD vs. Plasma: I'm a huge sports guy so this one was tough for me. But in the end, I decided that the blurring on fast sports was probably imperceptible (I was right), I read some real stories about burn in, and I wanted the option to hook up my laptop if I wanted.

Brand: Sony is too expensive, and I eliminated the lower models like Philips, LG, etc, and went between Samsung and Sanyo. For this, I looked at them side by side in the store, and the Samsungs were just brighter and crisper.

4665 vs. 4661: Because I had been leaning somewhat toward a plasma, I went with the 4665 because it was brighter, more "glass-like" in appearance, and well, performed more like a plasma. I live in a small NYC studio apartment with only 1 window. So while this sucks for natural light, it's a perfect scenario for this TV. Glare is non-existent.

40" TV vs. 46" TV: I went back and forth on this, and to be honest, if Samsung had made a 42" like every other brand, I would have probably settled on that. But the guy in the apartment before me had a 47" Vizio in here. What was I supposed to do, go with 40" after that? So even though my last TV was a 30" Toshiba tube HDTV, and the 46" looks somewhat ginormous in my studio, I said what the hell and went with bigger is better. I think the quote that got me was, "I've never met anyone that wished they had gotten a smaller TV, but I know several that regretted not going with a bigger model."

Buy local or through Amazon: Well, we tried. My friend and I went to a local retailer here and said if he could come close to the Amazon price, factoring in shipping and tax, we would buy from him (both my buddy and I were buying TVs at the same time). They couldn't come close. Read on for the money factor...

Bonus: Here is the tip that you probably didn't know. So not only was the initial price ($2049) lower than the local retailer. And not only was shipping free. And not only was the tax free. And not only did I get multiple $25 gift cards because I used my Amazon credit card.

But Amazon has a policy that you can call up unlimited times and get a price reduction if you see a lower price on the product. So I bought my TV for $2049 on Nov 1. A week or so later, it had dropped to $1999 and I called and they credited my account. I set a reminder in my work Outlook to check every day at lunch. It dropped again to $1949. Call. Refund. I definitely made sure to check on Black Friday. And Black Monday. And again. Call. Refund. And again.

So in the end for me the price has dropped from $2049 to $1799, saving me $250 off my original price. Oh, and my friend's TV dropped $50, my HD DVD player dropped $10, and even my wall bracket dropped $20.

But wait you say, I don't have time to sit on hold all that time. Well, you don't. If you go to Amazon's help page, there is a feature called "Call me now." You type in your phone number and literally 5 seconds later, your phone rings with a live person on the other end, and 2 minutes later you have your savings. And no, I don't work for Amazon. Like I said, I'm the bargain guy, and I know every trick to get a good price. And if one end of the spectrum is creepy commissioned salespeople in Manhattan and the other is a flawless customer experience, it's a no brainer.

All this would be irrelevant if the performance didn't live up to the hype. Well, it does. In a word, the TV is stunning. End of story. - Samsung - Lcd - Hdtv - Lcd Hdtv'

Swiffer Max Cloth Refills

Thought I was ordering Max Wet cloths and received dry max cloths. I tried to return them and could not get anywhere with company (not an amazon co.) The cost of returning was almost the same as total cost of cloths. Choose to keep them not guranteed I would be reinbursted for postage.

I was looking for Max Wet Cloths in particular, I guess they don't make them anymore. I have used them in the past purchased at a grocery store.

dharts Swiffer Max Cloth Refills - Pack of 16

The swiffer max disposable cloth is a must for my house- A quick daily zip around the house keeps my floors shiny and the dust and dirt at bay- worth the purchase. The convenience of shopping for this product on Amazon is truly the only souce that I can find to purchase this important (to me) household cleaning tool.

I love my Swiffer Max, but had a hard time finding refills at local stores. They're more than 2x the regular size and speed up getting my big kitchen floor clear of all the tracked in dirt, cat hair, crumbs, etc.'

Ipod Accessories - ipod speakers, ipod clock radio

I purchased this alarm clock for my 14 year old. We have tried numerous other alarm clocks for her, even the ones with the bells on top that clang. She has slept through them all, sometimes even when they go off for 30 minutes near her head. This year she started high school and has to get up much earlier. The iLuv has woken her up much more quickly than any other alarm clock! I no longer have to get up and drag her out of bed. I would recommend this for sound sleepers! iLuv iMM153BLK Dual Alarm Clock with Bed Shaker for your iPod - Black

Here is the rundown:

Pros:

+Docked flawlessly with my iPod nano 5g.

+All buttons worked.

+Ability to have auxiliary input.

+Wake up bed shaker is a nice touch. (and it has a very long cord)

+Alarm is a beep that gets louder over time (and can be used in concordance with the bed shaker)

+Can customize both alarms to incorporate different alarm types (ie. Shaker and beep, shaker and playlist, etc)

Cons:

-Sound was absolutely unbearable with any bass (even with ipod EQ settings set to bass reducer)

-Wake up bed shaker is not as strong as I hoped it to be.

-Product "feels" cheap (thin plastic, cheap buttons).

-Time setting is clumsy and difficult, why not just have it sync to the atomic clock (my $15 walmart clock did that)

-There are two bass "holes" in the back that appear to do nothing (I don't hear anything coming from them)

-Many comparable docks have remotes included. This does not.

-The screen does not look like it does in the image. It has a bright blue backlight.

Bottom Line:

This is great if you want an alarm clock with multiple alarm features that will also charge your iPod. You should not get this if you want to listen to music on it.

Why I gave it 2 stars:

I got this so I could listen to my iPod while I go to sleep. The sound quality is so unbearable that I stopped using it. It still has nice alarm features, but is overpriced for what I wanted.

A great concept let down by a few design flaws.

My intent for buying a new alarm clock was two-fold:

1) To enable me to set an alarm which would wake me, without disturbing others

2) To have a way to dim the clock so it would not disturb my sleep with too much light in the room.

Having this connect to an iPod Nano was a bonus.

The first thing that impressed me from the specs on this alarm clock was the bed shaker. Now, take note, this says Bed Shaker - and it truly is. Anyone sleeping on the same matress will feel their skull vibrating almost as much as yours, even when you place the vibrating disc under your pillow. 9/10 points for effort - 4/10 points for implementation

The second thing that persuaded me to this model was that it appeared, from reading through the reviews that the brightness on the clock was settable from 0 (no backlight) to 9 (bright enough to read a book by). This seemed great as this would allow me to have the backlight off for sleeping and adjust it if/when I needed to read the clock... However, the implementation of this is a fatal flaw for me with this product. Let me explain in detail:

a) The brightness change requires you to set a new overall brightness level; so if you are at 0 you click the Dimmer/Snooze button and it goes to 1. To turn the light off you have to click the button another 9 times to cycle back to 0. This is awkward, though is way surpassed by the loud clicking made by the cheap switch which wakes anyone else not wearing earplugs...

b) Insult is added to injury with the design of the Dimmer/Snooze button. Imagine you're sleeping with the backlight off (Dimmer 0) and the alarm occurs - you hit the button to increase the brightness, but it's a joint-function Dimmer/Snooze button... So, the alarm snoozes - and no matter how many times you hit the dimmer/snooze button again, to turn the brightness up to see the time, nothing happens. It appears the the clock is in "alarm mode". The only way to see the clock is to fumble for the alarm off button, turn off the alarm permanently and then hit the Dimmer/Snooze button again to now increase the backlight on the clock to level 1.

I know, and apologise, if this appears like a rant - and maybe my unit is faulty as the Dimmer 1 setting is incredibly bright and disturbing to sleep.

On the brighter side. The iPod functionality works well, even on the new iPod nanos, and the speakers are ok - definitely not hi-fi, but for a bedside table to listen to music whilst reading a book, they are adequate.

Anyway, please take the review as is, and if you we looking to an alarm clock with similiar prerequisites steer clear of this one. I wish/hope that these flaws are corrected and welcome any feedback to highlight better alternatives.

Hope this helps,

I personally don't regret getting this alarm clock, there are some downsides but they are easily negligible.

Pros:

-The bedshaker and alarm is very effective

-The sound quality of the speakers is decent

-The time on the clock is clear

-The alarm clock is multipurpose, can serve as a speaker system for your laptop or computer if you desire

-The radio is pretty good, the antenna is small and can provide decent service

-You can change the brightness of the screen display

-iPods work in general, and this clock charges it

-You can use it without an AC adapter by batteries

-Snooze button is easy to access when you're dead asleep

Cons:

-It is confusing to use at first, you might adjust to the controls

-The buttons are very loud, so you might disturb the other person if you share your room

-iPhone 3G shows up as not compatible for some reason, but you can charge it perfectly

-May cause problems in your iPod if you use sleep

-Bit overpriced

In all, this alarm clock is good, but there are small things that can be fixed. It's a bit overpriced, but I really liked the design which brought me to buy it. Amazon has some of the price slashed then if you bought from the original company. - Clock Radio - Ipod Speakers - Ipod Clock Radio - Alarm Clock'

Earrings - pear, earrings

These arrived promptly and exactly as pictured and described. They are substantial and well made, but not too heavy. I love the euro-hook backs. These are medium sized earrings. (Definitely not too little where they get lost and covered by hair and definitely not big, showy chandelier earrings either.) These are great for everyday wear and would go with many different outfits. Swirly Filigree Teardrop Earrings

I thought these earrings would be shiny and sparkly. Instead they were dull and just kind of "sat there". They're cute enough for jeans and a t-shirt, but nothing fancier. You can get better earrings at your local Target for the same price, and see what you're getting before you buy. - Pear - Earrings - Earring - Silver'

Monitoring Systems - affordable, driveway alert

Excellent value for the money. Very effective detection of movement with loud, effective alarm. I am using them to prevent unwanted entry by animals (heron) and people (children, especially) to my pond. Wireless Motion Sensor Alarm and Chime Kit (2 Pack) with two remote controls and wall mount

I puchased the Wireless Motion Sensor Alarm and Chime Kit (2 Pack) on amazon to replace another aged system. I was pleased with the equipment and installation simplicity. Being unable to find a "radio controlled" similar alarm system for buget applications, the Infra-red type works well. However, a "line ot sight is needed to set/disable the unit. There is a built-in delay after activation that helps. The supplier, D B Roth, provided great service after determining the units were in stock after a previous dead end attempt.

This item comes in a two-pack from DB Roth. As for my order, one pack worked, the other didn't. I contacted DB Roth customer service and they quickly replaced the defective one with a new one. Excellent customer service on their behalf. As for the product, it does the job and then some.

I have purchased 5 of these for rental property basement entries, etc. 2 of the 5 didn't work. The ones that did work, worked great for protecting inside areas. They are way too loud to be used for welcoming customers, but perfect to let you know that someone unwanted has entered an area.

I go in and out of my garage and leave the door up. I was burgularized of tools when in the house so I bought this unit. The sensor needed to cover 15 ft away across the garage door opening, and it only covers 10 feet, usually---never further. So, money wasted on false advertising.

Also, I had a 6 volt converter to avoid batteries in the main unit and the unit would not work, even though the converter tested 6.2 volts with a voltmeter.

I guess if you want to secure an 8' wide area, this would work. I'll just junk this, $16 bucks wasted. PS....don't EVER take the case apart. Takes an hour to get everything back in place where it will fit. (switches, a/c adapter, etc.)

The one I got was a one unit pack, but identical mfgr & package for $15.xx not $22.

Zero Stars...It seems China has no quality control at their manufacturing facilities. THis is a major problem of late on any items dealing with motion or alarms. The package of two...one did not respond at all in the standby mode and the other would only pick up motion when I waved a magazine 1 inch in front of the sensor; and it only did it one time. Subsequent tries failed. It's advertised for a range of 16 feet...no way. you'd be lucky if they worked at all. Save your time and money. i have had to send other items, (China mad), back to Amazon because of defects.

Would like a sensor that chimes inside. This chimes outside. must respond with wireless remote or it starts alarming even in pleasant mode. I wanted a wireless motion sensor that chimes inside so I know when someone has entered my yard or driveway. This product is of no use to me yet not worth enough to return. Will end up at the dump.

Package makes NO mention of Chime option! Could NOT find/get Chime option on switch(remote).

Thus this AD should NOT state "and Chime" ! I wanted the chime option...

But it is too much hastle to return... so I got plenty of ALARMS now. :(

The units came with no instructions at all. And, neither of the units I got had the switch to go between chime and alarm. This switch shows up in the Amazon video review, but was missing from both units. Also, the range of the remotes was less than 3 feet. For a temporary alarm in your home or hotel room, I suppose these have some value, but I didn't get what was advertised. - Home Security - Motion Sensor - Driveway Alert - Affordable'
