Great Golf Gps - great golf gps

The Upro golf GPS unit is worth every penny however the belt clip is not up to the task. I ordered one it broke on the first use. It was replaced and a second one broke on the first use.

I would recommend the soft case instead. It will do everything you will need it to do as well as protect the UPRO. The belt clip option allows the UPRO to rub against the handle on the seat of the golf cart and you can ruin the screen.

The UPRO and the softcase is the way to go uPro Belt Clip

Do not use the clip if you carry your bags (or are frisky around the golf cart). Mine broke when the bag hit it when clipped to the side of my pants, luckily I noticed and didn't lose the $360 Callaway uPro that was laying in the grass.

The uPro is small enough to easily fit in your pants pocket, where it is more protected than on this clip.

Broke during the first few rounds of golf (catches on cart seat). Repaired with Superglue and lasted another dozen rounds before breaking in the exact same way. However, this time, a portion of the clip was lost on the course and was thus unrepairable. While the UPro device is great, the screen scratches beyond use within a few rounds of golf (had to buy a ballistic Zagg shield for $15 - it works, but is not crystal clear) and, of course, the belt clip is pure junk. - Great Golf Gps'

Dual Screen - fun, games

People will no doubt find the Nintendo DS Lite to be a way for Nintendo to sucker people out of their money. It can be that way, if you think of yourself as a sucker, but for me the DS lite is a little better. Simply put, if you're content with your original DS, then don't even waste time to buy this one. If you don't have a DS period, the DS Lite is a much better investment than the original bulky one.

With the DS Lite, gameplay is made a little simplar. The button placement and brighter screen make the gameplay a little better. For one, the start and select buttons have been moved to resemble where they were on the original Gameboy Advance. This makes handling some of the functions (especially for GBA games) a lot easier. The buttons, sadly, are a still a little small for guys with big hands like myself.

The DS Lite also comes with a phony GBA cartridge (called a "cap"). If you don't have a GBA game plugged into the system, you can put in the phony cartridge to keep it from collecting dust in there. However, when you do stick in a GBA game, it sticks out by about a centimeter. It just looks weird. The cap does, at least, keep the system looking good.

Perhaps the most welcome change to the DS Lite is the screen. The original DS screen was not exactly bright. In fact, it was, in comparison the DS Lite, rather dark. Games like Metroid Prime Hunters were darker than they had to be. On this new screen, the difference in how bright the games appear really shows. Not only that but, you can adjust the brightness if need be. It doesn't really affect the battery life, either. You can play the DS Lite for as long as you played the original. And also like the original, it charges while you play.

Another welcome difference is the touch screen itself. These screens last a lot longer than the original DS. Those who have an original DS no doubt experienced a lot of scratches on their screen from their stylus. To the point where it was noticeable. You could still see the screen, but it was apparent that the stylus was doing a number on it. The screen is more protected here. The stylus doesn't scratch the screen quite as easily. In other words, the touch screen lasts a lot longer.

The DS Lite also looks better, and fits in your pocket better. It also performs all the tasks of a regular DS. For example, if you're playing a game and you suddenly have to go, just flip it closed and it sleeps. There's also a place to store the stylus, and the stylus is better too. It's a little bigger and thicker, so it's not quite as easy to lose.

Some problems with the original DS still plague the DS Lite however. You still can't play Gameboy Color or regular Gameboy games on the DS Lite. Also, you still can't configure the controls to play a GBA game much easier. In other words you can't configure "X" and "Y" when you play a GBA game. This probably won't bother you in the long run, however. Also, the touch screen still has its sensitivity. Touching the touch screen with your bare hands is more dangerous than the stylus scratching the screen. The oils from your fingers might damage the screen and therefore, it won't respond to the touch of even your stylus.

When the original DS launched, owners will note that there were not very many good games availible. About the only good game during its launch in 2004 was Super Mario 64 DS. Now there are plenty of games out there (and not all of them are ports), so if you do want a DS, this is a great time to get one, and the DS Lite is a better investment than the original one by far.

The DS may not play movies, or MP3 players, but to be honest, that almost defeats the purpose of a gaming system. Am I looking to buy a portable entertainment center? Of course not, I'm looking to find a system to play some of my games on, and the Nintendo DS delivers. Real gamers know it's about the games, not about the bells and whistles of a system. For the casual gamer, the Nintendo DS delivers, and the DS Lite is a fine improvement.

The Good

+Vastly superior to the original DS

+It fits in your pocket easier

+The Screen is much brighter

+Touch screen is more durable

+The placement of the Start and Select buttons is easier

+A better stylus

+The battery life is unchanged

The Bad

-Those with an original DS, who want a DS Lite will have to spend more money for yet another DS

-Some of the cons of the original DS are still here Nintendo DS Lite Polar White

Nintendo's newest DS Lite adds a cool new color scheme and some subtle improvements.

Pros

+ Awesome cobalt-blue and black color scheme - looks almost royal blue or purple!

+ Black base is a more grip-able matte finish that doesn't smudge and holds well in your hand

+ Nice design - thin DS Lite form factor you know and love

+ Brighter screen with better contrast than previous generation

+ Less than two-thirds the size of the original Nintendo DS and 20 percent lighter

+ Well placed microphone in the center of the unit

+ Well placed LED lights visible when the unit is open or closed, indicating power on and low battery

+ Wi-fi connectivity allows for DS Download Play and Muli-card play

+ Works with original DS games and GameBoy Advance games

+ Lower price point than competing portables like the PSP ($130 versus $170)

+ Great selection of low priced games to add to your collection!

+ Great game selection for adults, particularly learning and puzzle games

+ Multi-player wireless game play for games like MarioParty and New Super Mario offers great fun!!

+ Convenient stylus storage slot on the right underside of the unit

+ Awesome battery life that only requires recharging after many days of use!!!

+ Cool (though seldom used) novelty app called PictoChat for DS to DS chatting

+ Availability of add-on programs for wireless web surfing and other apps

+ Great accessories market, but beware low quality providers such as Switch&Carry (BD&A)

Cons

- GameBoy Advance game slot leaves cartridges sticking out and not flush

- Shiny cobalt top still attracts smudges - no biggie

- Reports of common issues with hinge cracking from regular use; time will tell if it's been fixed

- Somewhat slow start-up with DS Download play

- Some cheapo accessories are Nintendo certified: AVOID Switch&Carry (BD&A), stick with Pelican!!!!

- Limited built-in configuration settings (only military time format????)

- Need to exit games to access key configuration settings like brightness, etc.

- Colors produced in limited quantities and sell out too quickly!!!!

Looks and Form Factor

I've owned several DS lites, including the Onyx Black model. I chose the DS over the PSP for the games. PSP 2000 Console - Piano Black

This is by far the best looking DS Lite!! The cobalt blue on black color scheme shines a hue that's closer to royal blue or deep purple! The top is still a shiny smudge magnet, but it looks so cool anyway! Just wipe it down. :-)

The decision to make the base a matte black is both great for looks and function. The unit is easier to hold, doesn't smudge on the matte black part, and won't slip out of your hand as much as previous models. This feature started in the new BrainAge2 bundle with the red top. You can kind of see this from the pictures but it's not really highlighted in the descriptions. Considering this is the 1 biggest improvement, that surprised me.

I've also heard that the hinge was improved for durability, but I can't visually see a difference and I'm not going to dismantle it to find out. :-) It's a common known problem that hinge cracking has been the only common defect, so just handle with care. I personally haven't had a single DS falter on me in any way.

Other than that, same DS Lite form factor that you know and love. The only real gripe is that every version of the DS Lite is produced in very limited numbers and sells out in a few months. So if you like a color, you have to act fast before they disappear from retail!

Game Play and Functions

This handheld is very well designed for game play. The speakers and microphone built in to the unit are more than adequate, and you can attach peripherals or headphones to the included port.

Nintendo has done a great job of very targeted well designed games. Kids games like MarioParty Mario Party DS and the New Super Mario Brothers New Super Mario Bros. are fun and engaging! Get a group of friends together and play each other with only 1 game cartridge using DS Download play and versus modes!

Similarly, plenty of games for adults including the cult favorite BrainAge Brain Age, the new BrainAge 2 Brain Age 2: More Training in Minutes a Day and my personal favorite Big Brain AcademyBig Brain Academy!

Plus now language games like MyWordCoach My Word Coach

and MySpanishCoach My Spanish Coach offer more edutainment options to a growing list of games!

Nintendo has decided that fun game play and great design is more important than high-end graphics in a handheld, and I think they're right!

Features

The most notable DS Lite features are based on the Wireless connectivity. Some add-on applications even allow you to wirelessly surf the net. There are even apps that allow you to do other stuff like play MP3s with it!

Many games offer multi-card play (each player needs a card) or download play (1 card needed for 2-8 players) that both use the wireless connection.

The device has awesome battery life, and I've gone a week of light use without having to recharge. The heavier the use, the more you will need to charge it.

The configuration screen lets you set one of 4 brightness modes, which will also allow you to make your charge last. Some options aren't easily set . It seems to default to military time. Also, you can't change your brightness while in a game. Still those things are minor in context.

Your game scores and profiles are saved on memory stored on the game cartridges. That means you don't have to worry about transferring your info from one DS to the other. :-)

Hopefully the next version includes a faster wireless. Loading those games just seems to take too long. Still, it works and once again, this is a minor gripe.

Conclusion

Overall this device is an improvement. Nintendo's DS will continue to attract fans. Just make more of them guys!!! These colors sell out too fast!

You will want to buy a nice case and screen protectors to protect your DS! Avoid all Switch&Carry accessories!

Here's some of the ones I like!

Eco-friendly - gaiam, eco-friendly

My yoga studio has the foam bricks that many of us have seen before. These are useful for a few poses, and I wanted something similar for home practice. But I could not justify purchasing a "foam" brick, since these are actually made of plastic that is really nasty in terms of manufacturing. I don't want to put my money towards that. Obviously the world does not need more plastic crap that will end up in a landfill.

So I bought this one. It's more substantial than a typical foam brick - slightly larger and heavier, without being unwieldy. I have small hands and I do not find it to be too large. As an added bonus, I find the surface of this block to be slightly less slippery than the foam blocks, always useful for when your hands get sweaty.

I'm very happy with this purchase. Gaiam Cork Yoga Brick

This cork brick meets my expectations. The quality seems very good, it feels very good and there is no unpleasant smell. The edges are all very smooth, the size and weight is just right.

On the front and back "Gaiam" is written on the brick and the Gaiam flower (or whatever that is) is shown. Some people may like that, but for me it is a reason to only give 4 instead of 5 stars. In my opinion, yoga should not be about showing off brand names. I want to do yoga with quality products but without advertising for them. I understand that Gaiam wants to mark their products as such and I would have accepted a picture of the flower only as a more subtle way to do so.

If you are used to the foam ones just be advised that this one looks and feels like a brick. I bought it anyway because I like its eco friendly attributes but if you happen to drop this on your toe during a pose you'll understand what I'm talking about.

These blocks are reasonably priced, and I prefer the way they feel over the foamy/plasticy blocks. I have had one for 2 years, and decided I needed a second one for some of the videos I've been doing lately.

These blocks are a wonderful, eco-friendly alternative to the typical plastic foam yoga blocks. I think they are slightly larger than foam blocks, and quite heavy (this may be the only downside if you are planning to carry them with you); great for home practice. Wonderful for helping you maintain proper posture and get into those poses when you can't quite reach the floor.

First use during bridge pose and cork came flaking out as soon as I removed it to release from pose. Not too happy with that happening, I've used a borrowed cork brick before and do not have the same problem (that block has been used for quite some time).

I bought this because I had started to use a cork block while in classes at my studios. It's great, and though it is heavy, it's not so much so that it isn't usable. It gives a meaningful "heft" to anything you might be working on.

I prefer the cork to the foam blocks. I'm a bit heavy, so they feel more secure. They are a bit thinner, but that makes little practical difference. I have had one of these blocks for a year and had no problems with it. - Eco-friendly - Blocks - Gaiam - Yoga'

Air Nailers - pin nailer, bostitch

Yes , there is a problem with driving 1 3/16" pins but Bostitch will send you an easy fix, a new driver/piston. I am surprised that no one called them and posted this . I always contact the manufacturer with any issues first, some are very helpful and others are not. Great CS from them, as I always have had from them, and an other wise very well made compact driver now will work just fine. As far as using 2"pins, they are too long for this gauge in real wood[18 ga.2"brads is even pushing it] ;they bend easily and can "blowout" of the wood[follow the grain] when using to be really useful anyway but the 1 3/16" is perfect for shoe base mld. for flooring installs and no filler is really needed. 1" pin guns limits the usefulness as other brands have as their longest length. 4 stars for the tool as is, and add 1 star for Bostitch being there to fix their problem making the gun excellent now. Bostitch HP118K 23-Gauge 1/2-Inch to 1-3/16-Inch Pin Nailer

Just returned mine and ordered a Grex 635 instead. I fired about 40 pins in hard and soft wood, tried various compressor pressure settings, and various settings of the so-called "depth control." The gun jammed once. If the air pressure is at the low end of the recommended range (70-100 lbs.), or if the so-called "depth control" is set low, pins will usually be proud of the surface. With the proper adjustments the best you can do is get them to be flush, which is unacceptable as far as I'm concerned. According to Bostitch Customer Service, this pin nailer is not designed to countersink pins, but rather to leave them flush with the service. The "depth control" is a misleading name for what is really just another way of adjusting air pressure. It does NOT change the travel distance of the pin.

I just received this nailer about a week ago and have put it to work everyday. The first time I used it I noticed it would only drive the pins flush which makes the tool useless. The pins wouldn't even countersink in pine. I decided to grind the tip down a little hoping that it would allow the driver to make the pin go well below the wood. I'm sure Stanley wouldn't recommend this, but it did the job and now my pins go just the right depth in any wood that I use it on. Besides this minor problem everything else is perfect with tool including the case.

shot up many a clip of pins over the past week on a kitchen with cherry cabinets and trim. guns of this ilk are absolutely invaluable in delicate/intricate hardwood production work, from temporary jigging to glue up clamping to achieving the perfect miter. but this gun drove me up the wall and forced the guy coming behind me with the markers and putty to take his artistry to a new level. almost every pin stood proud, long grain shots and end grain. if it wasn't proud there was the slightest dent from the gun nose and the pin was still didn't countersink. when trimming in standard fjp this gun is a godsend, but for hardwood work you had better invest in a microscopic nailset(alien technology, coming soon) if bostitch hasn't decided to include one in the case already

...to follow up, this pinner is but a continuing let down. production installation of hardwood is the name, having the pin hold the pieces is but half the game. the many, the proud. i have a quick learning curve, now i've got a grex.

I was excited to purchase this nailer based on its ability to drive pins in excess of 1 inch. When it arrived I was pleased with the construction of the unit, very well made in the true Bostitch tradition. Upon immediately firing up my compressor to see what the unit will do, I was disappointed to see that it had a problem driving the 1 3/16 inch pins all the way into hardwood, in this case red oak. I tried different settings and even with the PSI set to max the pins would not countersink. I had to use a nail punch to finish the job, which is counter intuitive to why you would use a pin nailer to begin with. Other than that the nailer performs flawlessly, never jamming, etc. And by the way, the 1 3/6 pins are tough to come by. I have not seen them in any of my local home improvement or hardware stores. They are available through Amazon however, so you can stock up there.

I have been remodeling my home for the past year and was completing brand new Oak stairs with newel posts and balisters and railing. I had made all these pieces my self and I had to make some very small trim pieces and attach them to these beautiful stairs but my 18 guage trim nailer just blew them into toothpicks. I searched the web for a solution and found a review of pin guns in the JCL. I went to amazon and found the recommended gun kit. It arrived in a couple days. The little trim pieces were then tacked into place and you can hardly see the mark where the pin went through the trim piece.

I'm amazed at the amount of people trying to use this 23 guage pinner as a brad nailer or even a finish nailer. Most, if not all of the problems mentioned are due to operator error. These pinners are meant for delicate trim work where very thin and narrow pieces of wood can't be attached with a small nail or even a brad. When I read about using this guage pin on Ipe or people wanting a 2" pin it makes me cringe. It seems people are going to misuse and abuse machines all day long until they break and then they blame the machine. Learn your tool and learn the proper usage before expecting the impossible. It seems most of these "professionals" don't even know what a brad nailer is, let alone when to use a finish nail, a brad nail or a pin. There's a difference.

I was not able to make it sink one pin in any material. Those little pins hurt when you run your finger over them! Maybe I got a bad one. It is in the shop now being checked. My partner has a Grex and has had no trouble at all. I went with the Bostitch because I have had great service from their other products. If you buy this gun and have trouble, send it back before the return deadline. - Pin Nailer - Workplace - Air Nailers - Bostitch'

Birthing Ball - balance ball, stability ball

My husband mistakenly bought me a small exercise ball for Christmas and I, being a little shy of six feet tall, couldn't use it. So, I returned it for this set and I couldn't be happier. The ball itself comes with a really easy to use hand pump and has a nice, sticky finish to it that clings to my hardwood floor like a yoga mat. I was only really looking for a yoga ball, but the theraband and DVDs were great to get with this kit as well.

The DVD is also a wonderful tool to have. The main workout dvd focuses on legs, arms and abs. WHOA does it target your muscles! I was amazed at the amount of muscle isolation and how this seemingly "easy" set of moves really targeted my muscles. It was a great workout- wonderfully shot, nicely explained and just fun to do. I can't wait to add it to my exercise regimen. Gaiam Total Body Balance Ball Kit (65cm)

Various back and hip pains had me looking for a replacement for my Aeron chair. (Can't believe what I paid for that thing. Talk about effective marketing...) I work at my computer 8 to 10 hrs. a day, five to seven days a week. Extensive research brought me to the exercise ball. Luck (and the good Gaiam name) had me choose this ball. But I got the wrong size at first. Many sites recommend 65 cm for those 5'9" tall. This is WAY too short. I got 75 cm, and it seems to be the perfect height for me, and for anyone of any height, actually. Otherwise you're way too low.

My posture improved instantly. It was relatively easy to use, and by the end of the first week I was totally and completely in love. I sit at my computer 12 hrs. a day, 7 days a week. This thing makes me use my abs, legs, and back muscles all day long, but in a way I just don't notice. "Active exercise" is the term. I'm secretly hoping that my legs, butt, and abs will slowly but surely become tighter and more toned than ever. (Hey, a girl can dream.) And, as many others say here, I am much less tired at the end of the day. This ball is a great product. Buy Gaiam! Everything I've gotten from them has been the top of the line.

EDIT

Bonus benefit: Weight loss. It's now 10 days, and I've lost a tiny bit of weight every day while on the ball. Makes sense--my back/thighs/abs are getting a real workout. At first, I was tired after a couple hrs. on it. Now I use it all day before I'm tired. Am confident that as I shape up, the tiredness will disappear. And the disappearing weight is FANTASTIC. I feel so light on my feet!

I have been fumbling on my own with the balance balls in the gym and finally decided to buy a guided work out, and I am glad that I did.

Not only have I learned the right kind of exercises for the ball, but I have seen big results, in a small amount of time and with low impact on my joints, which is a huge plus at my height of 6'2".

The workouts are fun and done at a comfortable pace. Also, the woman in the first dvd, which focuses on your legs, arms, and abs video, is not annoying and it was nice to see that she and the other people in the video struggled with the ball as well ;)

Long story short, I love doing this and I look forward to challenging myself with some new videos.

This ball is the perfect size for me even though I'm shorter than the recommended height (I'm 5'4.5"). I also have the smaller purple ball, which the manufacturer claims is the proper size for someone my height, and it is much too small for me. If you are unsure about which size to get, I would recommend getting the next size up.

I've used other balance balls in the past, but this so far has been my favorite. very comfortable and durable. The hand pump isn't difficult to use at all. I love that this kit comes with a resistance strap and a DVD. The instructor, Tanja Djelevic, is delightful. Her voice is so soothing, I could listen to her for hours. She wonderfully optimistic and upbeat, without being annoying and fake perky like some other work out instructors voices that come to mind.

The activies on the DVDs are challenging but not impossible for even a beginner like myself to do. Over all, this is a great product and I've recommended it to many of my friends and family. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Sarah Beesley

www.scentsy.com/beesley

I love these balls so much that now I use it when I'm sitting in front of the boob tube/PC instead of my couch. so maybe the reason I have to refill it so much is just because I use it every day... but I only weigh about 190 and since this is for people who are over 6' you'd think it'll hold the air a little better. I do find that I have to also adjust the ball to keep it from getting oblong but that may just be the nature of all these balls? Whatever, it works and I use it every day.

I have used this ball a few times and I really like it. I used to have a larger ball from a different manufacturer. I didn't realize that balance balls came in different sizes and having one that's smaller (I'm 5'1") makes all the difference. I like the pump it came with. It's sturdy and easy to use. I could be wrong but I think it even has a safety feature that keeps you from over-inflating the ball. As I pumped the ball to full size I began to hear a leaking sound from the pump. I assume this was because the ball had reached it's capacity. The ball itself seems sturdy and after use I have not yet needed to re-inflate it. The CDs that come with the ball are pretty good. I was skeptical that the band used for the exercises would really do anything but it provides a great deal of resistance and I got a great workout. I wouldn't depend on using the included CDs for too long because they are short and I can see myself becoming bored quickly. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase.

This kit is a great value if you're looking for a relatively inexpensive way to start using a stability ball and want some exercises to go along with your ball purchase. Each individual item in the package has some definite pros and cons.

BALANCE BALL ITSELF:

PROS- sturdy, thick material, does not feel like it will pop. Retains air well. I've used it for several months now and feel comfortable exercising on it and have not had to refill its air level once.

CONS- As others have mentioned it's a LITTLE bit small to size. I still think it's the right size for me, but just barely. My knees are just level with my hips if I'm sitting on it barefoot and I'm 5'7". If you're questioning I would go a size up.

EXERCISE DVD:

PROS- Good introduction to how to workout using the balance ball. 3 20 minute sections for upper body, lower body and abs. The ab workout was moderately difficult while the lower and upper body were fairly easy but still worthwhile. DVD also has "express" options with 10 minute segments of each. Instructor is fairly "normal"... not annoying, overly demanding or overly peppy/cute.

CONS- Biggest issue is that the instructor fails to switch her left/right directions when instructing. She says what she's doing instead of switching her cues to make it easier for us to follow. For example, she'll say to turn to the left and then she will turn to her left. But if we want to mirror what she's doing we have to actually turn to our right. You can still follow along fairly easily but it's annoying and takes some getting used to as you have to mentally switch each of her directional cues. Also, the two people who she's working out with don't always have the best form and sometimes they're off of her beat or miss a move.

Here's a mix of a con and a pro for you... my dvd was unplayable when I first opened the package. The intro ran fine but I could not open the exercises on my dvd player. I contacted Gaiam (who I did not even order the product from originally) and they shipped me a replacement dvd overnight, no questions asked, no proof of purchase required, no additional charge. They were VERY easy to work with. The dvd included in the kit is just in a sleeve, i.e. no hard protective case, so I imagine many of their dvds in these kits could end up damaged. But I had no problem getting a replacement.

RESISTANCE BAND:

PROS- Good & appropriate length for the workout dvd included.

CONS- When I first got it I thought the resistance was so light that I would just end up throwing it out and using another band I already have. However, the dvd exercises require a LONG resistance band and it turns out when you use the one included stretched out as long as the dvd requires that it is fairly decent. So I guess the con is that I wouldn't really see much of a use for it outside of a small set of exercises that require a long band. Also, it's a slippery material with no grip. It snapped out of my hand several times during the exercises.

AIR PUMP FOR BALL:

PROS- Gets the job done

CONS- Cheap, thin plastic. Not very durable. Requires a decent amount of effort to use (but it is doable).

Overall it's a worthwhile purchase if you're new to stability balls and want a quality ball and a decent introduction to some exercises. - Balance Ball - Exercise - Stability Ball - Exercise Ball'

Bose In-ear - bose in-ear, bose in-ear headphones

I wasn't positive I wanted to spend $100 on earbuds, but I'm glad I did. Bose has solved the silicon earpiece problem you read about in almost every review. The snap on silicon cover fits securely and doesn't detach without a fight. So bravo to Bose for taking care of that. Now for the sound! If you spend $200 or $300 for the really high end earbuds you aren't going to be able to discern any difference. The Bose delivers full bass and crystal clear highs. I had no idea how great my iPod could sound, the iPod earbuds are an insult to it. Use your accoustic setting on your iPod equalizer for a great range of sound. Bose In-Ear Headphones

As noted in many reviews already posted, there is a quality problem with these earphones. After less than 18 months of gentle use (but over the 12-mo warranty) the wires and their protective covering frayed and separated where they enter the jack. Bose service rep says this is not repairable (I can't imagine why not, except they'd rather not). He offered me the 'opportunity' to replace the earphones for $50. Say what? Why would I want to pay that for the same product after it fell apart? As usual, Bose's promotion and advertising far exceeds product performance.

Firstly I want to start off by saying that I am not one of those people who hate on Bose no matter what they make, even if they are good. I love Bose products; the QC is a great line of active noise canceling headphones, but these IE headphones....??? they cant compare to the shine that their other headphones illuminate. I don't think these headphones are terrible, I just think they are WAY overpriced. I think it should have fallen below $60, but I know, they might run out of ad $$$.

Now to begin the review, what you see is NOT what you get. The design is top notch, and looks crazy cool. Although they are not the first ones to come up with that type of design, Samsung came up with one of these designs around 2001, but these look much slicker than the Samsung ones. The build of the IE is nothing less than great.

Just because they are In Ear, does not mean they block noise as most in ear monitors do. They fall right in between in ear canals like the Etymotics ER6i and the Sennheiser CX 300. They feel very insecure on your ear; it feels like its going to fall off. Since they are just hanging there in your ears, there is a lot of open space which allow you to engage in conversations without having pull out your headphones.

The silicone tips get lost very easily, that's why they provide you with the leather case, so USE IT!! The silicone tips also get dirty very easily if not put in the case while not in use. You don't have to worry too much about your ear wax getting stuck to it because it doesn't really go real deep inside you ear. Other accessories include the cable winder and different sizes of the silicone tips.

I am used to getting a complete seal to enjoy bass response; these headphones surprised me with producing excellent bass response without the full seal. The bass is good but it empowers over the mids and highs. If you really love bass driven music but also want to enjoy the mids and the highs, Sennheiser's CX 300 is the way to go. The IE's reproduction accuracy of music is very poor, it exaggerates the bass and seems blurs out the other frequency ranges.

I am used to having my volume on 30%, but these headphones require 53% to enjoy the full sound. The CX 300 works smarter and is very power efficient compared to the IE, which eats up your battery life faster.

Overall they are better than the iPod stock buds (not to hate on them but their last revision was pretty impressive), but any headphones above $20 should be better than the stock (duh). Many people seem to worship these headphones, but I just hope the nominating reader has tested better cans than these.

Let me propose my listmania of best value IEMs for under $100 bucks!

I've had these two years and the sound quality is better than the stock ipod ear buds. But of course it should be. What the sound quality isn't is 5 times better than the $20 stock ear buds. But that would be OK, since sound quality is a relatively subjective thing and others might think they are 10 times better. The reason for the bad review is the product durability. I lost the silicone ear pieces, but got some new ones and was thereafter more carefull. They would still come off in my pocket or elsewhere and came close to getting lost again. But that was still OK. After all, you can always get more. The killer for me is that like many others on this site, the wiring on my ear buds is now disconnecting from the back of the jack. The sound is starting to go. I called the very friendly and easy to reach customer service department who advised that since I was well beyond the one year warranty, I could buy a new pair for 50% off. I asked why I would want to throw more money after bad, so to speak. He politely responded that Bose had made significant improvements in the construction and the new pair would likely hold up better. Well, thanks but no thanks. If they needed that much improvement, send me a new pair!

It's not like I used the ear buds 3 times a week for two years. My use actually was pretty sporadic. I just think they are very poorly made and designed and would recomend that you purchase something else.

************UPDATE 6/9/2010********************

So three weeks after I wrote this review, I got a call from Bose customer service. The gentleman had read my review and offered to send me a new pair. As he put it, "it sounds as if in your case the wiring did not hold up like it should have." I would have to agree given my limited use. But, of course I had already told customer service that when I called in the first place! At the end of the call, he not so subtley asked if I would consider updating my review and I have now obliged. Not about the product so much, as the impact of a review on Amazon. So hand it to these forums. I complained a bit and was finally heard. Fascinating really.

I received the new headphones. They have improved my original - the silicon pieces do stay on better and the wiring design seems better. Is this a bought and paid for update? I don't think so, but you can reach your own conclusions. Happy listening! - In-ear - Bose In-ear Headphones - Bose In-ear - Earphones'

Table Saw

I chose this saw because it had high end features at a price that was in my range. The main features that made me choose it were the cabinet mounted trunnions, the built in mobile base, and the cast iron extension wings. First of all, this thing is built like a tank and the motor/belt already comes mounted in the cabinet which helps with assembly. Everything was packed nicely and the freight delivery was top notch. Now comes the only negative part of my experience...the assembly. Assembly was not difficult, however, the instructions are completely useless. The instructions would call for some screws or bolts that clearly were not provided and after a while I basically used whatever bolts would fit the task at hand, completely disregarding the instruction manual. Although a bit frustrating, I still assembled it in about 3 hours only needing help from another person to attach the cast iron wings. The seamless extensions are pretty cool and give the saw a great look and feel. The only issue is that with the seam concealed in the miter slot if the wings are not completely flat/level, the miter slot changes width ever so slightly causing the miter gauge to bind up. After about 30 min of adjusting the wings (instructions say they are leveled at the factory, but for me that was not the case), the whole table was perfectly flat and the miter slot was tight and smooth. The fence is good, but not excellent. It would have been nice for the front rail to be all one piece. The saw passes the nickel test and moves fairly easily with the mobile base. Cuts are smooth and accurate and its actually much quieter than I expected. Although the assembly process was needlessly frustrating, the overall value and quality of this saw is exceptional. In my opinion, whatever money Steel City saved by having a 3 year old write their instructions was worth it since that money clearly went into the quality of the parts. That is why I'm giving this saw 5 stars. Steel City Tool Works 35990C 10-Inch Contractor Table Saw with Cast Iron Table Top

It came down to the Steel City and the Jet contractor table saws at this price. I was able to go to a dealer and check out the Jet. The legs looked as if they where going to fold up under the saw when it moved and the fence did not belong on a $650 saw. This steered me to the Steel City and I am happy it did. I put this saw together by myself with zero help. The assembly instructions were a bit lacking but if you take each section at a time a lay out the bolts and nuts for that section you will not have an issue. Every bolt, nut, and washer were in a bag labeled what part it was to be used to assemble. The right wing was spot on. The miter track was too tight so the left wing so it needed to be moved. Both wings where level from factory. The T-fence needed a tiny adjustment also but that is just a set screw. The T-fence is not as well built as what would come on a cabinet saw but is far better then the Jet model for the same price. I had doubts about the caster wheel system that will move this heavy saw around. When you press your foot down on the pedal it will roll, it works great and also sits very stable when it is down on the legs. The you tube video with four nickels sitting on this saw while it is running is no joke, it has very little vibration. I don't know of a saw in this price range that can come close.

I have been without a table saw for a while, and spent most of that time dreaming and researching on which saw to buy. I feel safe in saying that the major piece of woodworking equipment in a shop is the table saw, and research should be done to find the right saw for your application. This saw at this price is a good deal. The money you will save can be applied to other items to increase the efficiency of the 35990c. Some of the pros to this saw are: enclosed cabinet, cabinet mounted trunions, 4" dust port located in the bottom of the cabinet, quiet opperation, built in mobile base, and good safety equipment. After set up, I was able to spend about an hour adjusting and readjusting until I was content. An hour is not bad since I was not in any hurry. The adjustments are fairly easy, and I do not fear readjusting in the future. There is, however, one bolt for the left table extension that is hard to reach, but it is still not that bad. The table top is made from three pieces of cast iron that conceal the seams in the miter slots. I'm not sure if the seam being visible or not actually makes a difference in performance, but it does make the miter slots adjustable. To me this is a big plus. Lots of people buy incra miter guages for the ability to remove the slack in the miter slot, but this seamless feature of the 35990c allows you to adjust some of the slack with the cast iron extension. I was lucky enough to have both the seamless table and the incra v27. I quickly reached for some scrap stock and made a 90 degree corner to check with an engineer square. I was extremely happy with the results. At a price of $649.00 with no tax or shipping, I find this to be a great deal, but there are some cons to this very positive report. There were several missing bolts, and this is somewhat of a disappointment. The items I was missing belonged to the rail assembly, and I was fortunate again to have some extra on hand. This is a rare occurance since they were metric bolts. You will see in the manual on Steel City's website that everything will arive preadjusted, and you only need to put the pieces together to have a fined tuned machine. Keep dreaming. Fine tuning a saw and then sending it on a several hour journey across bumpy roads to arive in perfect alignment is not realistic. However, at this price I was willing to spend a little more time and a little less cash to end up with a good saw in the end. To say that the instructions were written by a child might be a little harsh, but not far off. They are not easy to follow, and some of the sentences don't make sense. You can refer to the online manual for an idea of what the complaints are about. The fence leaves a little to be desired, but it still serves it's purpose. The rails are not seamless, and this seems to defeat the purpose of a seamless work surface. It is somewhat adjustable, but it just doesn't have that rock solid feel of a beisemeyer or unifence. Once again, at this price spend the extra money down the road and get the ideal fence for you. My bet is you could get an ls positioner add on and still be under the price range of the competition. One more thing to consider is that $600 is an average price for a good name brand portable table saw, but this is an oppotunity to get a stationary saw for only $49 more. In closing, I have had better experiences with machinery, but I definately got every penny I spent. Great saw for the money.'
