Headphone Splitter - belkin, cables

Have you been with your IPod, or mp3 player, experiencing great music or maybe watching a movie and someone appears and ask you what is that your enjoying so much, and although you want to earbud that someone you can't because there is only a pair of headphone and you don't want to miss it? Well that problem is solved with this simple gadget. You just connect two headphones and you and that someone can experience the same thing simultaneously. It is really inexpensive and it does not harm the quality of the music or whatever is it your using your mp3 player for. So it is highly recommended... Belkin F8V234-WHT-APL Headphone Splitter

I probably would have given this item a 5 star review. It works fine and seems to be built well. But there was a slip of paper inside the package that you wouldn't see until you purchased and opened the item. The paper is a mixture of Chinese and English writing warning of hazardous substances found in this item. In this case, the box for Lead is marked.

Now if I had known this has lead in it, I would have looked for a different item. I doubt that even Amazon is aware. My biggest concern is that a parent bought this item for their child (aren't lots of kids using iPods?) and threw the packaging away at Christmas without looking at it. I kept the paper in case Amazon needs to contact me and take a look at it.

it's stable and when you plug your earphone in it won't come out easily which is good and the sound come from the ipod is really good~~ just prefect !! I can share my music with my friend when ever I want

This audio splitter is great. Not only is it white, which in my opinion looks better, and is more "stylish" compared with the generic Black kind. The connectors are also gold plated, though product specs say it is nickel plated, making the audio loss a minimum. I personally bought 3 of these, which I connected into one audio output from my computer resulting in making my one audio output into 4. These splitters work great, since the two female connectors are separate, it doesn't interfere with how big the audio plug is. (for those 3.5mm plugs that are so fat, you have to squeeze to fit other plugs in) I havn't had any problems with these, no audio loss, sound isnt cracking like other splitters. Personally, from my experience these are cheaper in price, but better in quality. Two thumbs up.

Anyone running Windows 7 can use this splitter to loop a male/male 3.5mm cable back into the computer's microphone jack to record live audio. Also, I've seen the lead warnings and decided to test the splitter with a lead test kit. Both the exposed metal and the white plastic were tested and came up clean. No lead detected. I'll see if I can post some pics under "customer images".

Great product. Buy with confidence.

Product works exactly as expected. I am using three (L/R, C/Sub, Rear L/R) of these to seperate the sound out of my PC between my 5.1 surround sound and my 5.1 surround headphones. The split signal sounds great coming out of either the system or the headphones.

It works. A splitter is not one-way, it is two-way. I have my computer speakers as well as an RCA-headphone cable from the TV connected to the splitter. I plug it into the computer that is connected via dvi to the TV. Because the splitter is two way (all are) you can get audio output from the TV into the computer speakers (like when watching cable tv) and computer sound output to the computer speakers all at the same time. Many people do not know this, this makes it very easy for media center users and such. - Headphones - Audio Splitter - Belkin - Cables'

Portable Hard Drive - hard drive, usb

I agree with most of the other reviews, used it very shortly to salvage data on a corrupted drive. Worked great. As for the one main gripe about it being the status LED light to see if it was working, this must be a new revision because it definitely has that.

Works great, awesome price. New USB 2.0 to SATA/IDE Cable Adapter For 2.5 2.5" IDE Hard Disk / 3.5 3.5" IDE Hard Disk / SATA Hard Disk / CD/CD-RW ROM / DVD/DVD-RW ROM Hard Drive + AC Power Adapter

Good tool for trouble-shooting troublesome HDDs and DVD/CD burners. With some of the malwares on the scene, the only way to clear the problems is by removing the HDD from the system and running as an external drive on another system. Can also be used for checking out older drives that have been sitting on a shelf or in a drawer.

This item (or items, however you consider it) would be perfect for me if not for one glaring flaw. About 90% of my attempts to use it to attach an external drive result in random disconnects and a notice that windows cannot recognize the device, or more commonly it simply fails to read it at all and gives me the aforementioned notice. After trying several drives of both IDE and SATA, and using multiple USB ports, I can only conclude it is a flaw with the product and not my computer or drives. It seems it has to be in just the right position to work, and won't if jolted or moved. 3 stars because when it does work (without the disconnects) it's just what I need and functions quite well. I think I'm being rather generous with that rating too, it probably deserves less. - Hard Drive - Usb - Portable Hard Drive - Sata'

Lcd Mount - lcd wall mount, tv wall mount

I just used this to mount a 32" lcd to the wall. I wanted the smaller mount for it (the one that only goes to 37") so the ends don't stick out, etc. The harware pack was complete, and everything went together very nice. The mount itself is extremely sturdy, and the metal is nice and thick too. The black finish is nice also.

I will definitely recommend Cheetah Mounts to everyone I know that needs to mount a lcd or plasma.

Shipping was fast. They shipped this product the same day I ordered it. CHEETAH MOUNTS PLASMA LCD FLAT SCREEN TV TILT WALL MOUNT BRACKET FOR 23-37" TELEVISION BLACK

I just bought a 32" Samsung LCD and decided on this mount for it.

Pros: For the price, this is a great deal. I have no experience with other brands of mounts, but I've found this one to be very sturdy and feel comfortable hanging a 30lb TV on it.

Cons: While this was a great purchase for the money, here are the negatives I've found about this mount.

1) The reason I took a star off was because of the design of this mount. Adjusting the screws is very difficult once the TV is hanging. In addition, I needed to get an extra long screwdriver to adjust the bottom-locking screws. I do not have experience with other mounts though, so this may be standard. Still though, it could be a little better designed to be user friendly.

2) The built in level seemed to be off. However, Cheetah includes a free level with this model and I used another one I had just to double check.

3) The directions were straight forward, however, they recommend an 3/16" drill bit for the pilot hole. I found this to be way to small to fit the anchors in and had to use a 3/8" drill bit to get them to fit. Don't try to hammer and force them in, you will just damage the anchor. It should be snug though. 3/8" bit worked.

Overall this was a great product for the price, and I would definitely buy it again.

I receieved this product fast. I opened it up and was very pleased with all parts and HW in tact.

Set it up on my wall in a short time, and tilted it perfectly for viewing on my bed.

Very legit!! I am happy with the low low price and very sturdy construction.

I recently ordered two mounts. Unfortunately, only one arrived on the scheduled delivery date. I contacted their Customer Service group via email and received an immediate response. They apologized for the inconvenience and decided to file a claim for the missing mount. Then, they sent another mount 2-day express. I don't know about you but I am not used to a company taking responsibility for delivery issues and resolving the problem quickly. The mounts are excellent. They fit perfectly to the LCD and the wall. My only complaint would be that the distance between the farthest holes were barely 16" wide (typical span between studs). But I was able to align this just right using an electronic stud finder. I research many many site to find a mount for the right application and right price. Trust me, you will be extremely pleased with their mounts. Other similar mounts cost double. They provide all the hardware pieces you'll need.

Got one of the new Samsung LED TVs and this mount worked out fine. Just make sure that it fits. This mount is a little smaller than the last mount that I got. My last mount was also from Cheetah, but it was model APTMM2B. This mount was a few dollars cheaper so I went for it. It fits TVs where the holes in the back are up to 17" apart side to side and about 12" top to bottom. It turns out my display is what they call VESA 400x200mm which is about 16x8" so my TV just fit. I really don't think the weight is an issue as I think this mount could have held a lot more. But my last TV was a Panasonic and the holes on the back of that TV were further apart, maybe around 25" and so this mount would not have worked. I did not really pay that much attention to where the holes were before I bought so I guess I got lucky. The ad did say that most LCD or LED LCD TVs do follow the VESA standards like the TV I got so maybe it has something to do with the fact that the Panasonic was a plasma and not an LCD, cause the Panasonic is Not VESA standard. So anyway, you can save a little with this mount, just check the holes on your TV first.

Other stuff. The mount has a built in bubble level which was just a little off, but it did also include a nicer longer bubble level that was level. The longer level has magnets on one side and so when you are mounting the part that goes on the wall, you can just set the level on top of the top piece and it "sticks" there because of the magnets. The manual was decent and the mount came with a lot of screws that I ended up not using because my TV already had screws for a wall mount. It really is a shame that they have to include so many screws because my last 2 TVs both came with screws. I have ended up with 2 big bags of hardware that I will probably never really use for anything. But I guess some TVs don't come with screws so it is probably better overall if the big screw bags are there.

One other tip. Set the amount of tilt you want before you attach the TV to the wall. Once it is on the wall there really is not enough room for your hand to reach the tilt adjust. In my case I set it for a fair amount of tilt right off because that is what I need so I didn't really have to adjust it. That's it. - Tv Wall Mount - Lcd Wall Mount - Lcd Mount - Tv Mount'

Vga Y - vga y, dual monitor cable

It would be great if this splitter cable really let you input to two monitors at the same time - but it doesn't. As soon as you plug the second device in, one or both flicker or display nothing.

Also, the female connectors have thumbscrews - and since the male end of monitor cables also have thumbscrews, it's an obvious mismatch. Duh?! Cables Unlimited PCM-2250 VGA HDB15 1M and 2F Splitter

The splitter causes my computer monitor to shadow. I havn't determined the cause, however I believe it has to do with the cable not being properly shielded. The projector, that is also hooked up to the same cable shows no signs of shadowing. It got the job done just not well.

This item is perfect for those who want to utilize their large flat screen as an additional monitor. i was pleased with both the quality and pricing on this item. Great deal as opposed to my local electronic store.

This was exactly what I was looking for and it did just what it said it would! A very inexpensive piece of equipment that made our technical set-up easier to use. We decided to ditch our cable company and just keep Internet access for streaming movies and T.V. shows but we also surf the 'Net a lot; we used this cable to hook our pc tower up to both a monitor and our television at the same time so when we felt like sitting at the desk & typing up a long e-mail we didn't have to unplug the T.V. adapter to hook up the monitor each time!

Works great, was reasonably priced, and showed up quickly. Very happy with this product!

I searched all over our mid-sized town for a VGA splitter - the few that I found were way to expensive. This product popped up in an Amazon search. I ordered it, paid a very reasonable price, and received my product quickly. Next time, I'm coming right to Amazon. I highly recommend the vendor, Cables Unlimited, for speed of delivery and quality of product. - Dual Monitor Cable - Vga Y'

Laser Toner Cartridge - cartridge, canon

I'm now on my 3rd CRG-104 compatible toner cartridge, and if there is any difference between this cartridge and Canon OE, I can't tell. Note: this review pertains to CRG-104 cartridges ordered from "TheFactoryDepot" -- can't vouch for anyone else's merchandise.

I was deeply skeptical of aftermarket cartridges, so much so that the first 4-5 replacements I bought were genuine Canon. Still, I print easily 1,000+ pages a month, and at $70 a pop, the cost of Canon OE cartridges for my MF-4150 laser multifunction printer was really starting to add up. I figured that for 1/3 the cost of genuine Canon these cartridges were worth a try. Thousands of printed-pages later, I would never go back to being so shamelessly ripped off by Canon. There is something wrong with this world if this no-name company (I have no idea who actually makes these things) can sell a cartridge this good for 1/3 the price charged by Canon.

One caveat, the cartridge is rated to print 2,000 pages at 5% coverage, but in reality prints only about 1,400 pages. I attribute this to the fact that "5% coverage" is actually pretty skimpy and a typical densly-worded page of text is closer to 10-15% coverage. Anyway, the OE-Canon cartridge turned out roughly the same number of pages before going dry. Now, for the cheap among us (and if you're buying this cartridge--and still reading this description--there's a good chance you're pretty friggin cheap) it's possible to squeeze out about 150 extra pages after the printer tells you it's empty by removing the cartridge and shaking it in the same manner as when you first installed it (plus a little side-to-side shake for good measure).

*** June 20, 2010 - By way of an update, I've now been using these aftermarket CRG-104 cartridges for well over a year and still can't tell the difference between these and Canon OEM cartridges. Brand New Canon CRG-104, L104, 104 Compatible Laser Toner Cartridge for Canon ImageCLASS Canon LaserBase MF4100, Canon Faxphone L100, L120, L75

I was first skeptical about getting an non-OEM print cartridge for my Canon MF-4350 printer, but I was pleasantly surprised about the quality of the toner I received from SuperMediaStore. I only used the toner for a few days and it appears that the print quality is no different than that from the original Canon cartridge.

The toner came well packed too. It was placed in a thick black plastic bag with silica gel pack inside a retail carton box. That box was placed inside another larger box filled with eco-friendly packaging peanuts.

The toner out of the box looked slightly different than the original Canon one. Just as Canon cartridge, this non-OEM had a thin plastic seal to contain the toner powder inside the cartridge. You have to pull that plastic strip off before using the toner. However, in addition it had another wide paper wrapper wrapped around the drum that needed to be pulled. Upon removing that, the drum appeared to have concentric marks from the toner residue, but it turned out that they cleared off after printing the first page and didn't affect the print quality. The toner also had a sticker "no tearing" that covered a plastic cap for the compartment with the toner powder. The original Canon toner does not have that cap exposed. The plastic sticker is made from some fragile material and was already broken from being bent.

The original Canon toner cartridge is built of a slightly better plastic, but as I cannot see the difference in the print quality, I'm very happy to use this non-OEM one.

I am a little wary of these third party cartridges. I've not had much luck with them in the pass but the savings were too significant to ignore. So I bought this and another Canon cartridge at the same time in case I was unhappy with the quality of this unit.

My print is very clear. I see no problems with this and will buy these cartridges in the future.

*** This is a 9/20/2010 update to my previous posted review ***

I need to echo on the 9/5/2010 review by another user. After 200 pages of print, I start experiencing black dots on the edge of my printout. I will try cleaning my print path, but I am pretty sure that is due to the toner. Amazon, I think you need to do some quality control in terms of the product being sold here. I have to say I am quite disappointing after my initial excitement.

*** This is my original 9/7/2010 review ***

My product is from Factory Depot. I just installed the replacement toner in Canon D480. After one day of use (~80 pages), I cannot tell the difference between the OEM and this toner. Please remember this comment is based on one day of use (~80 pages). As for my starter toner, it only lasts 900 pages. Let's see if this one can last 1800 pages. If this toner does not live up to standard for 1800 pages, I will definitely update this review. - Laser All-in-one - Canon - Laser Printer Toner - Cartridge'

Victorinox Swisschamp - multi-tool, victorinox swisschamp

I really like all the features of this Swiss Army Knife. It was affordable and really has a lot of useful tools. Some tools not mentioned above packed into this knife include:

Needle (near the corkscrew)

Micro Small Screwdriver within the corkscrew

metal saw

wood saw

These things come in really handy in the tackle box or glove compartment in the car. They also really work well hiking/backpacking/camping or unpacking or whenever a quicktool is needed.

A great knife at a great value with a great warranty. Victorinox Swiss Army Champion Plus Pocket Knife

The Victorinox Swiss Champ Plus is a very well designed multi-tool. The more you carry it, the more it will endear itself to you by proving it's worth in the field as well as in the workplace or at home. At first glance some of the tools may seem superfluous, but in the long run you may very well use some of these tools even though you originally never imagined yourself being in a position that requires them. Fit and finish are first rate, as is always the case with Victorinox products. It amazes me that Victorinox is able to offer this tool at such a fantastic price while still manufacturing in Switzerland.

This tool is basically the same as the Victorinox Swiss Champ, minus the pliers. Losing the pliers gives you a tool with a considerably smaller profile which is therefore more pocketable, and as such I consider this more of a trade-off then a negative. If you plan to carry in a toolbox or glove compartment, you might very well choose the regular 'Victorinox Champ', while the 'Champ Plus' will be better suited to people who prefer to carry a tool on their person at all times.

Speaking of weight and size, this is at the very limit of what I would consider pocketable. It *will* fit in your pocket, but the weight may bother you depending on the type of slacks you wear. For dressy trousers in particular there may be some concern, less so with jeans or more casual trousers such as Dockers. A belt sheath is another method of carry that can alleviate concerns of the tool feeling too heavy in your pocket, but of course the trade off is a belt sheath is a bit of an eye sore in business or dress environments. Overall the size and weight is still smaller then a Leatherman Wave or other similar plier based multi-tools, so it is definitely small enough to carry on you if you are so inclined to do so.

Recommended Highly:

Every guy should have one of these on his person or close by, and you *will* be the hero and 'save the day' numerous times in your life as the months and years roll by. Take it with you to work, take it with you on dates, take it camping, take it everywhere you go (except the airport, unfortunately). Ounce for ounce, the Victorinox Champ Plus packs a huge punch. The Victorinox Champ Plus may very well become your best friend. Just give it a chance and carry it on you for 30 days, and you might wonder how you ever got along without one.

Pros:

-Value for the money

-Fit and Finish

-Encourages ingenuity and problem solving

-Useful and numerous assortment of tools in a small package

-Workplace/people friendly (not as likely anyone will accuse you of carrying a weapon versus a dedicated knife)

-Lifetime Warranty

Cons

-Size and weight are at the upper limit of what I consider comfortable 'pocket size'

-No one hand opening or locking blades

-No included belt sheath for those who prefer that over keychain or pocket carry

*Other multi-tool and Swiss Army Knife recommendations that you should consider:

Victorinox Farmer (if you prefer a more spartan approach)

Victonrinox Executive (very slim and lightweight)

Victorinox Explorer plus (good compromise between size and versatility)

Victorinox Compact plus (one layer smaller then the Explorer, but with similar tool selection)

Victornix Manager (for keychain carry)

Leatherman Charge TTi (if you need pliers, one hand opening and/or locking blades)

I like this particular Swiss army knife because it has a bit more than the standard knife. As a botanist and biology teacher, the hand lens has been used many a time to examine detail on a moss or beetle. The saw is great for camping, as well as collecting specimens. Additionally, you have all the basic handy gadgets you need on a knife: screwdrivers, scissors, nail file, tweezers, etc, as well as your basic, essential knife blade. I've had one of these for over 25 years, and have used it on five continents and for a hundred picnics. My only complaint is that as a lefty, food/muck can get lodged in the grooves of the handle when you use the blade (e.g. cheese, bread crumbs, etc). I use the toothpick to clean it up, but a hassle nonetheless.

Swiss Army Champion Plus which is not as good as the plain Swiss Army Swiss Champ Pocket Knife but is priced at $17 less. I had previously purchased the Swiss Army Champion Pocket Knife which has a pair of minipliers that work as well as the usual hemostats for fishing. That is the only difference that I can see between the two models. Given that gold handled hemostats are available for under $5 at most fishing stores that would make this the better buy but this is not the top of the line that the name implies. So 4 stars for this Swiss Army Swiss Champ Plus and 5 stars for the Swiss Army Swiss Champ Pocket Knife.

I always wondered what the hook thing is for on the other side of the knife from most of the other blades. After a little research I found it is for carrying stringed packages or grocery bags and really converts the knife into a comfortable carrying handle instead of having it feel like you're losing a finger at a knuckle.

I have a thing for the real Swiss army knives and decent multi-tools, and this Victorinox Swiss Army Champion Plus Pocket Knife is the one that sits in my camera bag, ready to go at all times. It's perhaps one of the best all-around tools that a pro or amateur photographer could look for as far as versatility goes.

There have been many times that this well-designed tool has come in handy in the field, and on a number of occasions it's been the one single item that has made the difference in a good day when shooting photos in the woods or wilderness. This knife isn't overly large, and even though it has a number of tools, it's quite manageable. The design has been proven over the years, and it's quite well thought out. Every single tool here has proven to be usable and easy to access once it has been used for awhile.

I'm not going to go through all of the tools that this handy Champion Plus Pocket Knife has, but read the specs and use your imagination. The large and small blades do just what is expected. The ruler is marked in inches & centimeters, and is located on the fish scaler/hook disgorger tool. There's a small multipurpose hook tool on the reverse of the knife that's quite handy for carrying heavy plastic grocery bags (twist and loop them), keeping them from cutting into your fingers. Works fine with clothes on a hanger as well.

[Note: see the photo with notes that I've posted here for a graphic breakdown of these tools and blades.]

Not well noted is the fact that it comes with a handy small micro screwdriver that's stowed within the corkscrew, so don't lose it. The tweezers are quite handy (for removing splinters or holding small parts) and these, along with the toothpick and ball point pen refill, can be picked up as spare parts from Victorinox if and when needed.

Some might prefer the Victorinox Swiss Army Swiss Champ Pocket Knife because it has pliers, but I prefer the larger needlenose pliers in a regular multi-tool such as the lightweight Leatherman Kick Pocket Multi-Tool or the Gerber Suspension Butterfly Opening Multi-Plier for really getting the job done. If either of those seem too large, there's always the super compact Gerber Clutch Mini Pliers Tool, which can be carried in a pocket at all times.

Pros:

- Excellent value for the money

- Made from high quality Swiss stainless steel

- Excellent assortment of tools, all in one small package

- Has a lifetime Warranty

Cons:

- Blades don't lock, so be careful!

It should be noted again that all of the blades and tools are crafted from stainless steel, and it's still made entirely in Switzerland... and it has a lifetime warranty from a company that know how to back it up.

Tip: if you get one of these, spend about fifteen minutes familiarizing yourself with it, opening and closing all of the tools, and "exercising" them. Gently spray some WD-40 with the red nozzle tip into each of the joints so that they'll move freely in the field when you need them. Doing this will make it pay off with years of service for you.

This Victorinox Swiss Army Champion Plus lives up to its name. It's a great tool, an excellent value, and a splendid gift for just about anyone. - Swiss Army - Multi-tool - Victorinox Swisschamp - Victorinox'

Historical Romance - period movie, historical romance

Let's start with what's good about this movie. The cast is wonderful, the costumes superb, etc. And, they even got part of the history right. In the 16th century people did argue passionately (and die) over religion, poor innocent Jane was the puppet of ruthlessly ambitious adults.Blast it! That dumb love story ruined the whoe movie. There is absolutely no evidence that Jane and Guilford Dudley ever loved each other. Nor did they attempt to reform the coinage, build public schools, redistribute income... I think Jane's story is even more tragic when you realize that her horrible parents forced her into a loveless marriage to further their own ends. But yet, the execution scene was true to the historical accounts. Can you imagine the horror of watching a blinfolded sixteen year old groping for the executioner's block, and asking: "Where is it? What do I do?"If you ever go to London, visit the British Library where Jane's prayerbook is on display. The night before she died, she wrote a letter to her sister on the endpapers. The handwriting never wavers. What courage this innocent child had. Lady Jane

Helena Bonham Carter does a superb job portraying one of the most tragic characters in history, Lady Jane Grey, otherwise known as "the Nine Days Queen". Her soft innocence and vulnerability are convincing and heart rendering. You also get to see a very very young Cary Elwes providing a fine supporting role as her doomed husband and Patrick Stewart (way before his Star Trek days) giving an equally fine performance as her scheming father. The story itself would make for a great Shakesparean tragedy if history hadn't written it first. I was quite moved at the cruel twists of fate that were handed out to this young girl. It is also a testament to the cruelty of parents to their children in sixteenth century England. This was commonplace at these times, even if one was of royal blood as Jane was. The moving and historically accurate execution scene, in which the blindfolded Jane cannot find the block to rest her neck is quite heart wrenching. You want her to survive the circumstances that her family placed her in, and the wretchedness of her miserable upbringing. However, life is not a fairy tale, even for princesses; this is a profound example of the misery that many Tudor woman, including Elizabeth I, went through. I subtract one star for some of the historical inaccuracies, but overall it is a wonderful and moving film. It also makes you grateful that you did not live in those precarious times.

I loved this film for the great drama of a mere sixteen-year old being used for machinations of her family to ascend to the British throne. There is a scene where Lady Jane is punished (by spanking with a paddle or something) for disobedience; this is a harbinger of the ultimate tragedy for the hapless teenager. While the details of this historical drama are not precise, the tale is well-told and the costumes and scenery are magnificent. This is a good, riveting historical drama despite the liberties the screenwriters have taken.

This gem of a film is from Helena Bonham-Carter's ingenue days in which she captures the strength of the pious and studious Nine-Days Queen magnificently. Strangely, paintings show she bears a stronger resemblance to Guildford Dudley than Cary Elwes, who makes up for his lack of physical resemblance to Jane's slovenly, disreputable husband by turning out a charismatic and thoughtful performance. This rather heavy-handed account of Jane Grey's life has a lot of symbolism. In a very English hunting scene at the beginning (which closely resembles a Breughel painting), we see the elders in Jane's life closing in on a deer in much the same way they would trap Jane into serving their own corrupt ends. After Jane is whipped by her mother for her reluctance to marry the obnoxious Guildford Dudley, King Edward comforts her by giving her a puppet to play with. The symbolism of that moment at this point in the film is blantantly obvious. Michael Hordern's Father Fekenham is a comforting presence in Jane's life, despite their disagreements over religion. He never hides the amount of respect he has for the young girl. Inaccuracies of the film include the fact that Jane's parents, played by a hard-driven Patrick Stewart, and a ruthless Sarah Kestelman(who reaffirms the fact that the saintliness of Frances Grey's mother, Mary, who was Henry VIII's younger sister, truly skipped a generation)responded to Jane's initial refusal to marry Guildford by respectively slapping her in the face repeatedly and cursing her. While one is greatful that the audience is spared that, the nude scene between Jane and Guildford was a bit gratuitous, and as Jane was actually unwavering in her resentment of her chosen husband, it's highly unlikely that their union was consumated. But the earlier wedding scene was indeed, a phantasmagoria of white and gold, and beautiful to watch. After her scheming elders place her on the throne, there is no evidence that Jane became, as Americans might say, a forerunner to FDR. She took to her bed, grief-stricken over the loss of King Edward. There is some truth to Guildford's having provided some comfort to her at this time, and part of the dialogue that is heard in the initial coronation scene is based on historical fact. As Jane's Governess, Mrs. Ellen, played by Jill Bennett, stands by, a helpless witness to her brilliant charge's fate, Jane Lapotaire's gracefully portrayed Mary reclaims her throne, Henry Grey tears down the royal canopy, and all the conspirators, reluctant or otherwise, are placed under arrest. Jane bears these indignities, as she has many others throughout her life, with a courage and patience well beyond her years. John Dudley becomes a turncoat, deciding to return to Catholicism to save himself, much to the dismay of Guildford. But this scheme doesn't work. Jane and Guildford almost escape with their lives, until Henry Grey joins a rebellion to restore Jane to the throne. Certain scenes of Jane's final days in the tower were given better treatment in the 1936 film, " Nine Days A Queen", starring Nova Pilbeam, and John Mills. But in the scenes of Jane on the scaffold are, for the most part, well-reenacted in this film. The sense of sorrow witnesses have at the brutal death that is to be faced by a girl so young, so brilliant, so sweet, and so innocent is almost beyond expession. Even Queen Mary (I hesitate to call her "Bloody Mary" when her father killed more people and has more flattering nicknames ascribed to him only because he had better P.R.)must have sensed that hers would not be a blessed reign as a result of her having to execute her own cousin in order to marry a Spanish King and restore England to Catholicism. Frances Brandon Grey is shown curtseying to the Queen who has just executed her daughter and who would soon execute her husband. Ironically, she would become a court favorite with the Queen. But there is some sense of justice in the fact that history has not been kind to Jane Grey's parents. Trevor Nunn has given the world a sharp, glistening, stately, and lavish production filled with a great sense of period and place. Whatever inconsistancies this film may have with history, its loving homage to Jane Grey is well-paid. - Period Movie - British Monarchy - Historical Romance - British History'

I'm not going to tell you what this movie is about.

Why, you ask?

Any info will ruin the experience.

And what an experience it was.

Here's what I liked.

Brilliant storytelling.

Incredible acting from everyone.

Direction, pacing, score were all top notch.

Anything I didn't like?

No.

This film does what so few films do, it will make you think.

It touches on so MANY different themes.

Right.

Wrong.

Good.

Evil.

Moral.

Ethical.

This life.

The next.

And pretty much everything in between.

Brilliant.

In an age of movies filled with senseless violence, unnecessary nudity and swearing that would make a truck driver blush, it's refreshing to see a movie that simply does what films should do....tells a story.

A grand story that I give my highest recommendation. Source Code

Acting - awesome

Plot - awesome

Directing -awesome

Effects- awesome

If you still enjoy being treated as an intelligent human being without compromising creativity, action, supsense, drama, sensuality, fun and believability in a movie - then this one is for you. Awesome movie.

SOURCE CODE has an element that is lacking in too many of the Hollywood CGI sci-fi experimental movies that are so very cloned these day - humanity. Much of the credit for this quality comes from the intelligent and imaginative writing of Ben Ripley and the tight direction by Duncan Jones, but the main reason this film works so well is the presence of charismatic and fine acting by Jake Gyllenhaal.

The story borders on the obtuse: a device has been invented by Dr. Rutledge (Jeffrey Wright) that can maintain a person in a state of recall much the way a light bulb has a glow after it has been extinguished. Rutledge has placed helicopter pilot Colter Stevens (Jake Gyllenhaal), who is missing in action in Afghanistan, in a capsule that is capable, under the direction of military officer Goodwin (Vera Farmiga), of projecting Stevens onto a train entering Chicago that has been planted with a bomb in order to discover the perpetrator who is apparently planning another bomb that will decimate the city of Chicago. It is a back and forth series of 8 minute exercises, each time Stevens relives the moments before a bomb detonation and gradually learns the the device and its owner. On board the train he meets Christina (Michelle Monaghan) who 'sees' Stevens as her boyfriend Sean and during these repeat flashbacks Stevens and Christina form a bond that makes Stevens re-think his 'purpose' in this military gimmicky.

*In the hands of the wrong people this little venture would seem trite and silly, but with this crew of creators it becomes a puzzle that touches on tension, fear, humor, and warmth. That is what a superb cast can do with any material, but with this particular strange tale it works perfectly. Grady Harp, July 11

I had been waiting for Source Code to come out since I saw the first trailer. Captain Colter Stevens is a helicopter pilot forced to relive the life of one Sean Fentress in order to catch a bomber. The premise is pure genius and the repeating of the same scene is kept fresh by the characters and the small changes that occur. Jake Gyllenhaal is a perfect fit for the main character. He is great at confused and wonderful as sympathetic. Michelle Monaghan is great playing off his character and Vera Farmiga is just terrific as she has to display multiple emotions with just her face. Jeffrey Wright's character is the only one not fully fleshed out but the movie doesn't really focus on him. Yes the ending might upset some people but it opens up a slew of questions (I've read so much stuff that people have written afterward) which is the hallmark of a good movie. Everyone should see this, especially fans of Fringe and the Matrix. I disagree with those who say it's like Groundhog day; it isn't.

"Source Code" is director Duncan Jones' second feature film, after the existential science fiction drama "Moon" (2009) took viewers back to the thoughtful sci-fi of the 1970s. Elements of that style are in evidence in the unretouched look of "Source Code", which, in spite of its contemporary setting, shares some of the same themes. Capt. Colter Stephens (Jake Gyllenhaal) wakes up on a Chicago-bound commuter train not knowing where he is or how he got there. The last thing he remembers was being a helicopter pilot with the 17th Airborne in Afghanistan. Now he sits opposite a woman named Christina (Michelle Monaghan), who calls him Sean and seems friendly. Colter's reflection in the mirror is unfamiliar to him, and, before he can figure it out, the train explodes in a fiery ball.

Now Colter is strapped into a capsule as a woman speaks to him through a monitor screen about an operation called Beleaguered Castle. She tries to help him regain cogent thought processes. Her name is Capt. Goodwin (Vera Farmiga), and she explains that the train he was just on exploded this morning, killing those aboard. Colter's mission is to go back and find the bomber, so a second terrorist attack can be prevented. He has 8 minutes. He's not traveling back in time, but into the residual memories of a man who was killed on the train. And so Colter goes back to the train, Christina, the explosion, the capsule, Capt. Goodwin. Again and again, as he hunts for the bomber, an understanding of himself, and of the implications of the technology that enables him.

It reminded me of "Moon" in its identity crisis and artificial reality, constructed for the benefit, or imprisonment, of the protagonist. This has a slicker, action-movie tone, though, rather than the contemplative pace of 1970s sci-fi. There is romance, action, and existentialism. And "Source Code", the mind-bending fusion of quantum mechanics and neurobiology that sends Colter into a dead man's memories, is billed as "a powerful weapon in the War on Terror." I felt the ending was a bit of a cop-out, and I'm not sure that it makes sense. But Colter's existential adventure does make sense, and there is enough action to keep the audience engaged even though, like our protagonist, we keep ending up back on the same train. Duncan Jones is now two-for-two and a promising talent.

The DVD (Summit Entertainment 2011): There are 2 featurettes, an optional Trivia Track that you can run during the film, and an audio commentary. "Cast and Crew Insights" (35 min) interviews cast and director about themes, characters, and each other, in 11 parts. Some nice comments, but it is repetitive and too long. "Focal Points" (7 min) presents the technical ideas used in the film in 5 parts: memory recall, military virtual reality simulations, quantum physics, many worlds theory, and brain computer interface. The audio commentary is by director Duncan Jones, actor Jake Gyllenhaal, and writer Ben Ripley. They compare the film to earlier drafts, discuss technical details and directorial decisions, filming, and Gyllenhaal shares his experiences. Subtitles are available for the film in English SDH and Spanish. Dubbing available in Spanish.'

Diamond Studs

I did a lot of research before buying these earrings. I had to work within a budget and these were the best that were out there. They are amazingly bright and white and nothing that I saw in stores and on other sites came close to the quality and size for the amount I could spend. I would highly recommend, my wife was very happy with the purchase. Mission accomplished. 0.63 Ctw Diamond Studs IGL Certified GH/SI2-I1 14K White Gold'

Digital Rebel - digital rebel, photography

I have had this bag now for over 9 months and can honestly say it has more then surpassed my expectations. It stores everything I need when out with family or friends to catch all the action in one convenient place.

In the center of the bag I have the following:

1. Rebel XT body

2. Canon 430EX Flash

3. 17mm-85mm Lens

4. 75mm-300mm Lens

5. Sony Handycam Video Recorder

6. Power plug for charging Video Recorder

On the sides I store the Battery Chargers and Batteries for Flash, Camera and Video Camera, plus Tapes for the Video Camera. The front holds all the manuals for everything and a few extra Memory Cards and lens covers. Even after this, there is still space in the bag for other things. The bag has held up very well and can see no signs of wear or tear after dragging this bag all over the place for the last 9 months. Canon 2400 SLR Gadget Bag for EOS SLR Cameras

I purchased this bag for my Canon digital rebel XT. It's durable and well built. Some what smaller than advertised but I'm sure it's ideal under most circumstances. Perfect if you have a camera body and single lens. However, I returned it in exchange for the Canon 200DG bag which is larger and could accommodate up to 3 lens, camera body and accessories easily. The 2400SLR bag has plastic latches, rings and zippers. The Canon 200DG has heavy metal latches and is constructed with thicker padding and heavy duty zipper and pouches. The price of the 2400SLR is very reasonable and a great value for the money. But, if you are planning to carry a camera body and 2 or more lens, I would not recommend this bag.

I am very pleased with this bag. It is a perfect fit for my Canon EOS 20D camera body and two lenses plus flash unit. Plus, there is room for another lens (a soon to be added zoom lens). Plenty of compartments and zippered pockets around the perimeter for carrying accessories. It even has a strap on the bottom for carrying a tripod. The bag is lightweight, water repellant, and has the interchangeable dividers so you can arrange the interior contents into any configuration you like. Well worth the price and works fine unless you plan on carrying more than 3 lenses.

If you're reading this review now, then you must be debating on whether to purchase this bag or not. My answer would be to buy it!! Initially I bought a samsonite bag, but I quickly out grew that one. This canon bag (after repositioning the velcro dividers) can fit all of the following:

1. rebel xt body w/ the kit lens attached

2. Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II

3. Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III USM Telephoto Zoom Lens

4. Canon 430EX Speedlite Flash

5. Duracell 15 min charger

6. misc (cards, cords, chargers)

*** and i still have room ***

You might be thinking that the bag is heavy, but it's not because everything is so easily distributed in the bag.

I already had an older camera bag and thought it was time for a new one to go with my new Rebel XT and lenses. I have a lot of smaller accessories that easily fit into any of the various pockets and have room for more. The only annoyance (minor) is that the strap connection to the bag is not the swivel type and I find myself having to re-twist the strap to the correct position before putting it over my shoulder.

This is a good looking convenient bag. Has lots of compartments and tons of stuff can fit in. In general works pretty well. Here are a few drawbacks:

1. The divider is set up in a way the body and lens need to be separated to be stored. I used to have a lens attached to the body all the time in my old Tamco bag and this is new to me.

2. My 70-200 F4/L is too long to be stored in there. Which is not a gignatic lens.

3. The partition desgin is not that flexible.

Then I have only had this for a week and not sure if i know all the tricks yet.

I got tired of carrying two separate bags for my Digital Rebel (with two lenses) and Sony D8 camcorder (larger than DV camcorder). I wanted a bag that's big enough to carry all my digital gears. After looking around at Wolf Camera and other retailers, I decided to give this bag a try. It turned out to be a GREAT decision! With re-arranging the dividers included, I was able to fit the above gears plus a couple of D8 tapes, SONY camcorder power cords, Canon battery charger, Canon user's manual, additional film memory into this medium show-box sized bag. It is the least expensive and great quality bag around. Highly recommended to anyone with similar needs.

When I was looking for a camera/gear bag, I first checked the usual suspects: Lowepro, Tamrac, etc. They had the product I was looking for; however, at a price that was out of my budget. I then decided to check our Canon's. To my surprise and delight they had exactly what I was looking for: something semi-hard, protective, weather-proof and within my tight budget. I ended up deciding for getting couple of these guys and am nothing but satisfied. This bag is spacious and exactly as advertised.

If has configurable inner dividers so you can customize how it fits your precious equipment. Very easy te get things in and out of, and it can pack a lot! I usually carry my camera with a 28-135 lens attached, two other lenses, batteries, a few filters, couple of lense's hoods and a few memory cards. It all fits and everyting stays in place. In short, a superb value. If you're looking for an inexpensive camera/gear bag, this is the one to get! - Canon - Digital Rebel - Photography - Digital Slr'

Touchscreen - mp3, cheap

This item only had one review so i thought i would share info on this great player. I only paid [...] for this,so how much can you really expect, right? First of all i got free shipping(which i wouldn't do again)and they held the product for five days before shipping.Once they shipped it,it came by usps so it was not bad.Anyhow, this ipod copy(as they call them)does everything it's supposed to and more.I am not by any means a computer geek or software specialist but i had a full length movie loaded in it the first night. Shocked Me!!But i did do one important thing,i read the instructions on the website and followed them. first try, loaded a current movie(1.35 gb).played perfectly. this was so easy because you just open the player up on usb and find the file (movie, song, pics)and just drag it over to the player. It took about 4 minutes do download the whole 1.35 gb movie.Remember you have to follow instructions including downloading the converting software but that was very easy too.The fm radio works well with no problems.I was very surprised at how good the touchscreen works. Very easy to move around with soft touches. You do have to click twice but that soon becomes second nature.Easy to get through the video for fast forward. If you leave the movie and come back you can return to the same spot.Tried the micro mini sd slot (2gb is the only one i have) and the player reads it well.It charges very easily. Only concern i have is battery life, seems to go quickly, but is getting better the more i use it. But i did play music for about 5 hours and the battery was a little less than half,so it might be fine.Touchscreen is not chintzy like a lot of people say about some of these players.Comes with a built in stylus for pointing, but i haven't even got it out of the player yet because my fingernail works fine. The voice recorder works good. The speakers work but are very low decibel. You won't use them much, but you can hook up a pair of off market speakers with no problem.i bought a square trade warranty for 5 bucks which will cover this for three years. So to wrap it up i have to say(you probably think i work for pyrus or something)but i am just an average jerk like anyone else and wanted to let people in on what a great player this is! Pyrus Electronics 4gb Mp3 / mp4 / mp5 Player with 2.8 Inch Touch Screen and All Stainless Steel Casing

I have three words for this item and they are listed above. This item is just beautiful. The stainless steel casing, the touch screen, the UI and the functionalities. Everything just stands out. What more can I say about it? It does not have all the fency functions as iPod Touch but it has everything one can expect from a music/video player. Buy and you will not regret.

I was searching for an MP3 without the complexities as the apple ipod. The only issue I have is that I don't like the earphones provided and I would like to get a case for it, if anyone has any suggestions please advise. Otherwise, I'm very happy with my buy. I've dowloaded music very easy and overall everything is what I expected in an MP3 easy to use, sound system is great and pictures on videos are better than Apple's ipod, i can actually see them. Is just what I wanted for the price I can't go wrong!! I highly recommend it.

I bought this Mp3 player for my 9 year old daughter and she absolutely loves it. The pictures doesn't do this Mp3 any justice! I was a little apprehensive about purchasing it because it's not very expensive but I'm so glad that I did. The player is very durable and the hot pink stainless steel is absolutely gorgeous. The instruction manual that came with it wasn't that good, but we managed to figure it out. it seemed a little dated. Right out of the box the Mp3's touch screen was very responsive but you may have to plug in the charger because it may be dead. The battery was really low. We didn't inquire any issues while setting it up and the sound quality is excellent. I was a little surprised by the video quality because I didn't expect it to be that good but it was. The Mp3 player is loaded with some sample pictures, music and video. It also comes with a CD to use on the computer but we didn't need it because when we plugged it up to the computer with the provided USB cable, it recognized the Mp3 player right away and began to install the driver for it. We were able to transfer music to the player in a matter of minutes. The Mp3 player comes with a stylus but it is soooooooooooo tiny!!! We had a difficult time locating it on the player. The stylus is attached to the Mp3 player like the The Nintendo DS's stylus is but at least with the DS, you can locate it fairly easily! If you're not looking carefully, you will miss it. It's that tiny. There is also a little nifty carrier case that it comes with. I also like the fact that you can also install a SD card if you chose to do so. Overall I'm 100% happy with this purchase and so is my daughter! Now she will stop bugging me about using my phone to listen to music! - Cheap - Mp3 - Mp4 - Pink'

Garmin Nuvi 295w - wi-fi, gps

I bought two (2) Mini chargers from a Big Box retailer for about $60.00. Both started my GPS units, one new one several years old, then showed an on-screen picture of a computer with a GPS. Neither unit went into operational mode until AFTER the charger was disconnected. After several minutes or hours of charging both GPS units would operate for only several minutes, then shutdown.

Accidently I ran across the Amazon Car Charger! They looked the same BUT also said they would both charge and operate the GPS. Priced at two (2) for less than $6.00 with free shipping, full knowledge of Amazons return police, many years of totally pleasing service and trust in Amazon, I ordered two (2).

When I plugged them into the GPS units I was disappointed to have the same screens come up and then the picture of a computer and GPS - hey that's the same as the Big Box ones did! Darn! However after a minute or so the "Please drive...." voice startled me and both units were and are now fully operational with the chargers pluged in! The mini chargers give off no heat; one is now hidden under the instrument panel cover of my motorhome hard wired to the ignition switch. The other in the car so my wife won't (hopefully) won't get lost when I tow the boat and she follows in the car losing sight or radio contact - great peace of mind.

And YES I told the Big Box when I returened their Mini Chargers "I bought two (2) from Amozon.com for less than $6.00 and they WORK!" Car Charger (Mini USB) for Garmin Nuvi 260 / 260w / 265 / 265wt / 275t / 295w / 350 / 360 / 370 / 465t / 500 / 550 - Wi-fi - Garmin - Garmin Gps - Gps'

Ball Chair - ball chair, comfort

This is a really comfortable, fun chair! It works perfectly, and I really appreciate the adjustable height legs and back, especially as compaired to my other style ball chairs from a different company. The 5 casters also make it roll very easily and it's quite stable. I have sat in it for up to 3 hours and still find it comfortable. I read that the ball did not fit on someone else's review, and that's bogus--you just have to blow it up on day one, lett the vinyl expand, and adjust the air pressure again the next day until you get it full enough to be comfortable for youself. Easy. I have used it with the ball that came with it as well as a larger one with less air in it, and both work well. If you are in need of a casual chair, and are of "average" height (5 to 6 foot), this is a good choice for up to 2 or 3 hours sitting. Great for computer use, especially a laptop. FitBALL® Chair w/pump and 55cm silver ball

After reading the first review, I couldn't believe he had the same chair that I have. My office purchased this chair for me 4 years ago, I use it M-F 8-5, and I am still happy. I had to add air 1 time in 4 years. My only complaint is that the back of the chair loosens occasionally, but otherwise it is a great chair. My back has strengthened and has never felt better. I think he just didn't put enough air in the ball. This chair is worth the money.

I was in the market for an exercise ball chair to hopefully aid in strengthening my lower back. I chose this particular chair because of the adjustable legs and lumbar support, which is a must for a woman like myself with petite (a.k.a. short!) legs. I had read these reviews prior to my purchase so I knew that it would take a little while to pump up the ball to the proper size for the chair and myself. It basically took about a week to fully expand, though I think only because I neglected it on a couple different days! When putting the chair itself together, the only issue I ran into was that the raised blue paint spots on the sides of the two screws for securing the lumbar support made it almost impossible for a woman with less than desirable hand strength to tighten the screws by hand. I did contact the company to see if they had replacement screws, which they did not, but they offered to send me an entirely new chair in replacement instead. Finding this option a little drastic, I dug out my old battery operated drill and, while securing the other end of the screw casings with the Allen wrench, I used the drill to screw in the screws. Worked like a charm!

I ordered this chair after having ordered an exercise ball with "udders" from another company - it was too short to do me any good at a desk. I've had this model at work now for several weeks, and I notice at home on the weekends that my back really misses using it. I think I'll have to get one for home, too. I didn't attach the backrest and don't find myself wanting it to be there. I naturally do some flexibility movements while I sit on it, and I get up more often now, whereas I would sit for a very long time in a regular office chair. Highly recommend this type of chair, and I like the adjustable legs on this model.

I purchased the ball chair a couple of weeks ago and sit on it every day at work. I think it's great. I can tell what muscles that haven't been used until now. I had knee problems before so I would take the elevator and now I can walk the three flights of stairs without any pain. The booty does get warm sitting on the plastic. I plan to find some type of covering so it won't be so hot.

I purchased this for my wife as she wanted to try it out, but I think I need to get one too! I have had lower back problems for quite some time now and after sitting on this chair, my back is relieved. Whenever it starts to bother me, sitting on this relaxes my back muscles. - Ball Chair - Fitness Furniture - Office Chair - Comfort'
