Cordless Drills - drill, makita

I purchased this hammer driver drill in june '10 and used it this summer when renovating two apartments. I was sceptical to if a battery powered drill could produce enough power to drill in concrete and that sorts, but the BHP454 sure convinced me right from the start. It eats through concrete like butter, and the battery capacity is very good concidering the voltage and power drain from this type of job. The batteries charge in less than 30 minutes, and you'll probably not be able to drain a fresh battery before the next one is charged and ready, so you'll be able to work continously with this tool if you have two batteries. The torque adjustment functionality is also really nice, it enabled me to even assemble Ikea furniture without running the screws through the wood. This drill might be a little heavy for furniture assembly, but it's really no problem if you don't have smaller drills and still want to make the job quick; Just reduce the torque and you're ready to go.

I definately recommend this tool to anyone who does medium or larger projects and need a tool that delivers enough power with the convenience of being cordless. Bare-Tool Makita BHP454Z 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless 1/2-Inch Hammer Driver-Drill (Tool Only, No Battery)

I ended up getting the BHP454Z as a bare tool because I couldn't find a combo kit that included this Hammer/Drill Driver with the new BTD 144 impact driver. Overall the BHP454Z is a great tool. The Makita battery life is great, and its extremely powerful. I used it the first day I got it to drill about twenty 3/8" holes about 2" deep, to mount shelves in a very thick concrete wall in my garage for a few shelves, and it did so relatively easily, didn't produce virtually any heat compared to similar hammer drills, and did the entire job on a single battery.

It's no replacement for a larger dedicated large hammer drill, but for small to medium jobs, it works great.

I purchased this tool to replace a BHP452 that had worn out from repeated use. The BHP 454 seems to be of stronger construction and is heavier. It functions very well so far. I expect to have a long and productive relationship with this tool.

Having the opportunity to buy tools of this quality without battery or charger insures that my original investment is not wasted when something happens. This is a good reason to spend the premium price associated with a first line tool system like the Makita LXT.

I bought this one to replace the one that came in the kit with the impact drill. I trashed the first one, but it took constant commercial abuse. I also used it to drill 3 & 4 inch holes which it isn't designed to do.

This new version seems to have a lot more torque than the last one did. I never really cared for Makita tools before I bought these last two drills. They are by far better than the DeWalts I have owned in the past.

I wouldn't hesitate to by one of these again.

A few years ago I purchased a Makita driver on sale at Home Depot. At the time, funds were tight so I opted to purchase just the single driver instead of the a combination set. I kept an eye at Home Depot for a sale on this BHP454Z drill-driver which never materialized. I was tickled to discover Makita made available the "Tool Only" option and that Amazon made this option available. I now have the set and Amazon was the exceptional purchase with the best price and shipping option. Thank you Makita and thank you Amazon.

This is a tough drill. It will drive a 3/4 inch auger through 8x8 all day if you have spare batteries. It's a little heavy and sometimes it's hard to switch between modes. Overall it's an excellent tool. All of the Makita lithiums that I've used have performed excellent.

This is my second drill like this, it feels hefty in the hand, has great toque and is easy to control. The lite is usefull. One small improvement would be some system of storing several bits on the unit, but overall a good drill.

I had already owned one of these workhorse's in the past(which mysteriously grew legs, and walked away)and after it was gone, I felt incomplete. That is how powerful this unit is. I mean, to be able to bring a grown man to tears after the first use when he then realizes he had been going through life wasting time and money on "disposable" drills. That's something! Bottom line folks, if you can keep your hands on this puppy, it will be the last drill you'll ever need to buy!

I bought this hoping I could share the BL 1815 battery from my regular drill. Nope there is a plastic blocker that prevents mounting the smaller 1815 battery. You must use the larger BL 1830 battery with this drill. Since I don't have enough hammer-drill needs to justify buying an $80 battery just for this drill I sent it back and got the BHP452Z model which does accept my battery. Too bad, since this one costs the same and is obviously more rugged, has the side handle and a depth stop rig.

Great drill, does the job!! Love the led light, not too heavy and easy to change bits with the keyless chuck.

I like the depth rod that comes with the drill, I can gauge the drilling depth with ease. Would recommend to anyone!! Nice rugged Hammer/Drill!! - Makita - Lithium-ion - Cordless Drill - Drill'

Cordless Drill - impact driver, cordless

The Porter-Cable 12-Volt Compact kit is a very nice, compact drill/driver set. I purchased this item to replace my 14-year old Makita 12V cordless drill, which was having some operational issues and was no longer capable of charging the batteries. It is nice to see how much technology has improved since that drill was built-- and I really liked that drill when I got it. As you would expect from Porter-Cable, these are high quality tools. The lithium-ion batteries for this set are small and light weight (compared to my old drill). I love the form-factor of these items-- no bulky handle base to get in the way. Of course, that also means that these items won't stand up by themselves as my old Makita and other cordless drills will. The power produced by the 12V battery is sufficient for all "around-the-house" chores and more. The impact driver is capable of driving 3" x 1/4" lag bolts into pine with ease, and the drill is fully capable of drilling spade bits through pine as well. I haven't attempted to drill into harder woods yet, but I would guess that these units would do an acceptable job, although I don't think that the bigger jobs are what this set was built for.

The battery life that I have observed so far is excellent (of course, I have a new set, so it better be...) I get several hours+ of "continuous" mixed-duty use from them. The manual says that you can store your battery in the charger when not in use with no negative impact to the battery. That is great if you, like me, tend to walk off and forget you left a battery charging. My old Makita battery seemed to suffer when I did that. I am sure that any tool that uses Lithium Ion batteries will provide this benefit.

One feature that I like quite a bit is the integrated LED light that comes on when you engage the trigger on each unit. It is bright enough to provide that extra bit of light you might need to really see where you are drilling. Very nice when repairing inside dark closets, cabinets, or just in shadowed areas. The led can noticeably light a wall 6 feet away in the shade, so you get a sense of how much light it can provide from the drill to the drilling surface.

The construction of both tools is very solid, using hard plastics and heavy-duty rubber. While I don't have a job where my tools get thrown around, these seem solid enough to take some abuse in that regard.

When researching, I compared this set to the Makita LCT203W 10.8-Volt Compact Lithium-Ion Two-Piece Combo Kit, as I was replacing a Makita that I loved. I ultimately went with this set because I have other Porter-Cable tools that I love, so I knew it will be of high quality. Another deciding point was the fact that this set has a bit more power, and, frankly, this set looks great. I know it shouldn't matter, but the appearance of these tools did help sell it to me. Kudos to the Porter Cable designers for creating an attractive set of tools. That said, the primary deciding points were the confidence in the brand and the larger battery. However, I am sure that I would have been quite happy with the Makita as well, based on my past experience.

My only complaint with this set is a minor one. The set comes with a heavy duty storage bag instead of a hard plastic case. This is minor for me because I don't have to travel with my tools very often. However, I do like to have sturdy cases that can take abuse and save the tools if they should fall off the truck or something similar. The storage bag that comes with this set is well built and solidly stitched, and has internal dividers so each tool and the battery charger has its own area. Still, I would prefer something a bit more substantial to protect the great tools inside. If I could only deduct a 1/2 star instead of a full star I would, but that is the only reason I didn't give this set 5 stars. PORTER-CABLE PCL212IDC-2 12-Volt Max Compact Lithium-Ion 2-Tool Kit

I just received this set today, and my first impressions, is that they are light weight, but not as compact as you might think. The drill/driver is about 7" long, almost as long as my 19.2 drill. With that said, they are light weight and have some power. I did my own tests mainly on the PCL120D Drill/driver, and I was quite impressed. This drill drove 300- 1 5/8" drywall screws into 2x in one charge. (It also drove 3" screws in easily) I then tested it by drilling 3/4" hole using a spade bit into 2x. It drilled 17 holes. Not bad for a compact drill. The last test, was lag bolt test. The drill drove a 1/4"x 2 1/4" and a 5/16"x 2" lag with pre-drilled pilot hole into 3 1/2" pine with ease. And it almost seated a 3/8"x 3 1/4" lag. It drove this 2 1/2" in before dying. The impact driver was able to fully seat the 3/8" Lag. Now these drivers are not meant to be driving lag screws in, but I was quite impressed with the power. The only thing that remains to be seen, is the durability of the batteries. Only time will tell on this. Over all very impressed with this set.

I purchased this set in mid January because of the size and portability. I have 3 18 volt dewalts and love them, but they are heavy if you are doing minor repairs. Since I was looking for something to keep in the house and use in the wood working shop this pair fit the job description. I was originally looking at bosch and milwaukee, but as I was shopping I found this pair and liked the features. the drill with a 3/8 chuck,220 in. lbs of torque, work light above ther trigger and lightweight, the impact with 950 in. lbs of torque and also light weight and a work light also above the trigger. Two batteries with a 30 minute charger and a nice bag to keep them in. Only time will tell about the life of the batteries and I have not had a use so far that has pulled the batteries down to the point of having to have a battery change to keep working YET. If you are looking for a power house to replace your heavy duty 18 or 14 volt drills then I would not reccomend these, If your looking for a lightweight, lighter duty drill impact set that even the Wife can use around the house and not complain about the weight then this set will do nicely. A compact drill/driver and the impact driver included for a good price I highly reccomend this set.

I did drive 10 three inch screws into treated wood with out any trouble using the drill not the impact driver, but if your need is to drive 3 inch screws all day this tool is not for that job. Using the drill on cabinets and book cases made out of oak is my intended use for this set and in that job role I am very pleased with there performance. - Impact Driver - Cordless - Cordless Drill - Compact'

Wenger

I have been wearing an expensive Invicta watch for years. While it was a nice watch, it never seemed to keep time. It would either be fast or slow. I know about the reputation of Wenger and how good their watches are supposed to be. I bought this watch and I am glad I did. It is not quite as big as my Invicta was, but it is still a good size watch. IT KEEPS GREAT TIME!! This watch is always on the mark. The swiss quartz movement is definitely the way to go. I had to remove a few links to get the watchband to fit exactly right, but it has become a part of me every since receiving it. I would recommend this watch to anyone. You will not be disappointed! Wenger Swiss Military Men's 72936 Sport VII Military Watch

I was interested in this watch because I was looking for a nice, relatively inexpensive Wenger watch to wear whilst working (to avoid breaking a leather watch, as I had done in the past) and so naturally, this steel-banded Wenger caught my eye. It's really nice and low-profile, I like the relatively narrow band, and the neat design of the links make it look perfect on my wrist. Overall I expected a lot and I was very pleased when I saw it in person. I had to get it sized at a jeweler for five dollars though. (Excellent price, no big deal). I also own a $425 dollar Wenger, but this watch is just as good in my opinion. I'd recommend it if you're looking for a nice, sleek, inexpensive beautiful quality-made watch!

In first place, I must say that I've looking for a good, non expensive siwss watch to wear everyday for quite a while, and Wenger has always been my choice, but whenever I went to a watch store, the prices (double or triple) keep away me to buying one, until I found this model in amazon, nice look, simple and clean desing, wich gives the elegant look by its arabic numbers and luminous features! and is the good size watch too... This one has it all, and for less than $100, I had to take my chance. It arrived well, on time and in good shape, as it appears in the ad pictures!

What else can I say?, I do recomend this watch to everyone!

I work in the HVAC field, Its been 14 months I have had it on, work and all. First 3 to 4 months the watch was nice for the price, then it started making rattling noises internally. Adjusting the time the crown came looses on me a couple times I had to stick it back in (that was kinda weird). The crystal/glass is scratched up. Im not to crazy about the stainless steal bracelet kinda loose and wobbly.

Yea it has the warranty but I never sent it in, I cost me $75 for the watch, I just didn't want to deal with it.'

Book Holder

As a college student with some heavy books, I needed a book stand to handle these thick heavy books. This one does. It can handle two rather thick books at the same time, too. This is a perfect book and paper holder. IVR59000 - Book Stand Copyholder

My wife bought this at officedepot several years ago. She wanted another one but they didn't sell it at their store locations. I went online and found it here on amazon. I bought it for her and she loves it because the book stand is durable and holds papers in place. Thanks.'

Waiting For Kindle Price To Go Down - 9 99 boycott, outrageous kindle price

Born Fighting by James Webb is the history of the Scots-Irish over the last 2000 years. A few highlights:

1. Scotland was effectively created by the Roman Empire when Hadrian's Wall was built across Britain at the approximate location of the current border between England and Scotland. Rome controlled Britain south of the wall and the native Celtic tribes controlled the north. (Rome also effectively created the modern boundary between France and Germany when Caesar conquered Gaul but stopped at the Rhine.)

2. After the Norman Conquest, English kings attempted repeatedly to subdue the Scots and extend their rule to all of Britain. The victories of William Wallace and Robert the Bruce maintained Scottish independence through the rein of Elizabeth I. Upon her death, the throne passed to James I of the House of Stuart who already ruled Scotland as James VI. One could almost say that Scotland thereby absorbed England, but the relative population sizes of the two countries gave England the upper hand almost from the beginning.

3. In the meantime, the Protestant Reformation had been underway in northern Europe, leaving Scotland strongly protestant (Presbyterian), England more mildly protestant (Anglican), and Ireland still Roman Catholic. To bring Ireland into the protestant fold and increase its loyalty to the British Crown, James I established the Ulster Plantation and encouraged protestant Scots to settle in Ulster starting in about 1610. These settlers from Scotland to Ireland became the Scots-Irish (or Scotch-Irish).

4. In the Glorious Revolution of 1688, the English Parliament deposed King James II principally because he attempted to reestablish a Catholic monarchy. The deposed king, with French (Catholic) aid landed in Ireland, rallied the Catholic Irish in southern Ireland and attacked the protestant settlers in Ulster. James was again defeated and exiled to France.

5. Meanwhile, various Test Acts had been enacted by the English Parliament and Crown that established the Anglican Church as the official Church of England and excluded non-Anglican Protestants, primarily Presbyterians and Puritans, from public office. A particularly harsh version was enacted in 1703 and led to the heavy migration of Scots-Irish from Ulster to America throughout the 1700s. They settled primarily in the Appalachian highlands, starting in Pennsylvania and migrating southwest to Virginia, the Carolinas, Kentucky, Tennessee and beyond. In numbers, the Scots-Irish far exceed the other groups of British settlers described in David Hackett Fischer's Albion's Seed: the New England Puritans from East Anglia, the Virginia Cavaliers from the south and West of England, and the Pennsylvania Quakers from the Midlands.

6. The Scots-Irish were characterized by poverty, family ties that extended both linearly across generations and collaterally to many degrees of cousins, strongly protestant beliefs, independence, distrust of governments in general, and a readiness to fight both individually as part of a local militia. Although the Scots-Irish Presbyterians shared a faith based on Calvinism with the Puritans of East Anglia and New England, there appears to have been little love lost between these groups.

7. The Scots-Irish provided the bulk of the Confederate Army although few held any slaves. During the decades following the Civil War, their poverty was worse than before the war, reaching a nadir during the Great Depression of the 1930s. This poverty prompted another mass migration to other parts of America which was accelerated by the mobilization for World War II. As a consequence, the Scots-Irish have been distributed through most of America, except perhaps New England. Their numbers and characteristics, especially their willingness to accept and absorb spouses from other ethnic groups into their extended families, have made the Scots-Irish folkways a key part of the American character.

So, is this a recommendation of Born Fighting to others? Yes, but a conditional recommendation. First, one should read David Hackett Fischer's Albion's Seed (see my review) which describes and contrasts the four British groups, including the Scots-Irish, that settled America. Fischer's book is better written, broader in scope, more objective, and based on real scholarship. In contrast, Born Fighting is repetitive, focused on one ethnic group alone (making conflicts with others harder to understand), strongly Scots-Irish partisan rather than objective, and draws much of its best material from other modern authors, including extensive quotes from Fischer's book and Churchill's Birth of Britain. Still, Born Fighting was worth reading and gave me new insights, especially on the history of the Scots-Irish before their migration to America. For the record, my heritage is largely Scots-Irish.

Here are two additional suggestions. (1) David Hackett Fischer's Bound Away (see my review) which describes the migrations of Scots-Irish and others to, within and from Virginia. This book repeats some of the content of Albion's Seed but also presents new material on the migrations within and from Virginia. (2) Kevin Phillips' The Cousins' Wars which traces the recurring conflicts between the Puritans of East Anglia and New England and the Anglican Aristocracy of South and West England and the American coastal south through the English Civil War, American Revolution, and American Civil War. This book also draws heavily on Albion's Seed but adds much detail on the three wars that are its central focus. However, it appears to have a mild bias to the Puritan side. Born Fighting: How the Scots-Irish Shaped America

I had to log on and write a review of James Webb's brilliant and wonderful book " Born Fighting : How the Scots-Irish Shaped America." I bought the book in November, and after skimming through it and reading the first two chapters, I immediately ordered a copy for my father as a Christmas present. After finishing it, he told me it was the greatest present he had ever received, and that many of Webb's passages brought tears to his eyes. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in American History, and for those millions of Scots-Irish Americans unaware of their heritage this is a must-read.

In "Born Fighting" author James Webb chronicles the millennial struggle of the Scots-Irish people from fighting to preserve their independence against the Romans and the English, through their migration to Ireland, then to the hardscrabble Appalachian frontier and beyond. Webb describes how the values of these fiercely independent, determined and impoverished people pervaded the society and culture of America, and how their influence is reflected in such diverse institutions as NASCAR auto racing, country music, the evangelical movement, the U.S. Armed Forces, and American Democracy itself.

Weaving distant history with personal family history, Webb details the struggle of these proud, impoverished people through their oppression by and resistance to the Romans, the English, the Irish Catholics, the Anglo-American pseudo-aristocracy of the Colonies, and the latter's successors, the so-called "Eastern Establishment." Through it all, the Scots-Irish survive oppression, scorn, war and poverty by drawing on their bottom-up, rather than top down social and political structure, and their collective fighting spirit to triumph. Webb's wonderful personal stories of his own family history cannot help but resonate with those Scots-Irish of today with similar backgrounds and experiences. It certainly did with me.

Until I read this book, like many of the millions of Americans of Scots-Irish descent, I never knew I had an ethnic heritage. I am now glad to know that not only do I have one, it is a proud one and storied one. I owe a debt of gratitude to Webb for imparting this to me through this magnificent book.

My father used to tell us as children that we were "Scotch-Irish." I didn't know what that meant at all until I took European History in high school. As an adult, I did some genealogical research on my family, gleaning what seemed to me to be loosely connected facts from church and census records. "Born Fighting" was invaluable in providing some context to what little I was able to learn.

Along with my aunt, I traced my family history to the mid-1700s in western Virginia, through my Great-Great Grandfather who enlisted in the Confederate Army in Charlottesville, VA on the day after First Manassas. He served in the 57th Virginia Infantry, part of Gen. Pickett's division at Gettysburg that was virtually wiped out on the third and decisive day of that bloody battle. My aunt found a picture of him at the Gettysburg Battlefield Visitors Center in his uniform, of which I have a copy.

My father, the son of a five-and-ten-cent store manager in the Depression-era South became the first of our Scots-Irish family to graduate high school. If that wasn't enough his high school grades got him into an Ivy League school, borrowing, washing dishes, waiting tables, and tending bar to pay his tuition and earn his degree. His sacrifice and hard work smoothed the road for his four children, two of whom are lawyers, one an economist, and the other a mathematics teacher. After reading this book, my father told me he had always been ashamed of his modest "white trash" or "redneck" background, but having read this book he could finally be proud of who he is and where he came from.

I have a 4 year old son and I am going to give him a copy of this wonderful account of our ancestors as soon as he is old enough to appreciate it. I want him to know what I now know about the hardships and difficulties of our ancestors and how they got us to where we are now. Their story has made me appreciate how far we have come.

To Mr. Webb, I say thank you for telling the story of our colorful and prominent ethnic heritage, and the role our forebears played in the evolution of our great republic. - World War Ii - Wwii Pacific - Outrageous Kindle Price - 9 99 Boycott'

Gaucho Pants

These pants were the best investment for the money. They are confortable, come in a variety of colours and can be worn with just about anything. Not to mention the sizing was pretty spot on. Some of my friends have had other brands that weren't quite as accurate when it came to the size of the pants. I was very pleased with this product and also received them very quickly. I wear them all the time and would recommend them to anyone! Mossimo Supply Co. Juniors Gaucho Pant - Black S

The pants are great, they arrived late however and simply in a bag. They do run a little big, get a size smaller than you normally would. They are sheer so definitely get a dark color. Very comfy though.

Can't go wrong at this price. A couple of things -- they do seem to run a little big (I ordered based on the sizing info listed, got a medium, but I think small would fit fine), also they are not hemmed, just a raw edge. The fabric is thin, but nice and swishy (I wouldn't order a light color, but dark is fine). I might be disappointed if I had paid more, but for around ten bucks, I really like these.

These came late, the white ones are see through and the reviews with the pants being sized small are definatley not accurate I usually wear a large so i ordered a xlarge figuring by the reviews they should fit but they swallow me alive when i put them on.I cant find a customer service phone number to call to see about returning them and getting a smaller size.

I bought my first pair of these pants in like 2005 when I was in high school but I only wore them for special occasion type things. Then I realized how comfortable they were! They are the perfect thing to just throw on and go. They're casual but still a bit nicer than a pair of ratty blue jeans and like I said, they are ridiculously comfortable. I love these because I can wear them to work and they don't look like your typical work clothes or I can wear them for a night out. I end up buying one or two pairs of these things a year because I wear them nearly every day. If you wash them on a delicate cycle and hang them to dry they last A LOT longer I'm just too lazy to take the time to fish through the wet laundry and find them to hang them up. I do find it odd that these are from Target but you can't buy them on the Target website or in the stores. However I've never had a problem with shipping, they are always very fast and it's always the same quality product. In short, I'd give these pants 10 stars if they'd let me!

I just wore the pants for the first time yesterday and man, do I adore them!!!! I love the fluidity of them and the way they feel. I just wish they had more of a variety of colors, because I would get every color in the rainbow!!!!

I bought these pants to get me through my last month of pregnancy. They were so comfortable, I loved wearing them. The only problem was that one pant leg was longer than the other. I was able to trim the longer side to match the shorter, however if you looked close enough you could tell that I had cut one of the legs. I would have returned them, but I was desperate for something comfortable to wear so I decided to put up with the defect. Check the length on both legs before you cut the tags and wash!'

Cardio Dance Workout - dance workout, exercise

These are made of good quality material, especially for the low price. The problem I find with buying workout pants is the length. I normally have to buy a large in order to get them long enough. I am 5'10 and about 155 lbs, wearing between size 8-10 in womens. I really need a size medium in these, but even the large are not as long as I like. I'm leaving a detailed review so other women with the same height issue as me can utilize this review before their purchase. They are only about 2 inches too short, so if you're 5'8, you're good to go!But I guess you'll have to order the large to get the length, unless they're all the same length. Alki'i Junior Womens lounge/workout/gym/yoga pants - Aqua L

I loved these when I got them. I tried them on and they were perfect. However, after the first washing they shrank so much that they now look like high waters. If I had wanted capri pants I would have bought them. Really disappointed.

I purchased two pairs and tried them on when they arrived. I liked them a lot. They were really long though, so I was going to shorten them up a bit. I washed and dried them and noticed that the length shortened a ton. At least two or three inches. If you are tall they will probably end up being to short if you dry them. I'm only 5'2" and they are about perfect now. Probably a 30" or 31" inseam.

They fit cute and are super comfortable, great pants.

I went with the suggestion of the other reviews and got a large and they fit great. They are so comfortable I will probably buy more pairs. . Also, they make my tush look pretty nice too!

Update: I washed these and they shrunk quite a bit. Actually, I can not wear them anymore (so sad!) I'm 5'5".

I bought these pants because they were a great price and they were fun colors. I wore them to the gym and washed them the next time I put them on to go to the gym they had shrunk. I dont know about anyone else but I dont think my gym clothes should get special treatment. Now everytime I wash them I have to hang them up on a hanger so they dont shrink :(

I work from home and am always on the lookout for pants that are comfortable but not too grungy to wear for runs to the post-office or starbucks and do not require a change before a dash to the gym after business hours!!

These will work great. I ordered the coral pair to add to the 4 black ones I bought from Target and a local Sportswear boutique. It is a really cute color. I wear a woman's size 6 and these are junior sizes so I ordered the large. It fits nicely. Since I paid between $27-$44 for the black pants I already own, I am very pleased with the price on this one, given the quality and fit. Will be ordering the aqua and the grey to complete my wardrobe for the week! - Dance Workout - Dance Workout Dvd - Exercise - Dance Fitness'

Comfortable - very good, electronics

I have owned my Bose in-ear headphones (white/black stripes) for a little over a year now and they have been great to me and my wife for the gym, listening on the computer, etc. We have lost a few ear tips since by accident so we needed some new ones. I saw these on Amazon and gave them a shot. I ordered the medium ones because I thought they should fit any ear...And I think it was a great choice for the wife and I, they stay in my ear WAY better than the original style especially since they kind of wrap around the one part of your ear. We always had a hard time keeping the old style in the ear especially if we were using them to run/jog. Overall if you need some new ear tips go with the new stayhear style and order the ones you think will fit for your ear, I used the old style as a reference of what size to order. Bose® StayHearTM tips - Medium (2 pairs)

After several years of trying everything to keep the original Bose ear buds in place (replace tips, try all three sizes, wash tips with stuff to make them sticky) I had given up wearing them while I worked out. As soon as I would start to sweat, out they'd pop. I ride a stationary bike for 45 minutes every day and the Bose ear buds would be out of my ears in about 5 minutes. So I gave up and started wearing headphones.

Then I saw the new ear bud tip design (StayHear TM) and thought, what the heck. Got them yesterday (Size Medium because that's the size in the old ones that fit) Used them this morning and they stayed in my ear the whole 45 minutes. In fact I had to pry them out when I was finished.

I love them. They fit. They're comfortable, They stay in. Now I have my Bose quality sound back. Thank you Bose.

UPDATE: After several days of use, the performance of the first day is confirmed. They stay in my ears during a full 50 minute workout without any loosening at all. Ahhhhhh.....

These are really great-- they fit in the ear comfortably (with no pressure), they stay secure while jogging, and the material itself seems very nice and does not aggravte my skin (I have a latex sensitivity and these do not seem to bother me, though I am uncertain as to what they are made of.) Of course the sound it great.

great sound with these headphones, they stay put while walking, running, shopping...only problem for me is that the tip often falls off of the headphone point itself, easily lost, hard to get out of ear but i still give 5 stars compared with other tips.

This is my first set of quality phones for mobile use and I got a great price on the Bose phones at a BJ Wholesale Store...I didn't realize when I bought them that they did not come with this piece which Bose has designed to allow the bud to stay in the ear canal with more stability...The set may have been an older model...I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Bose makes the piece available on line for purchase...For anyone who uses the Bose ear bud while being very active, these StayHear tips are fantastic...No more having the bud come out of the ear at every twist and turn of the head...I love them!!

The problem with the regular ear buds were that they kept falling out of my ears when I was riding my bicycle. These new ones stay put despite rapid descents and let me enjoy the wonderful sound of Bose.

As others have mentioned, it's too easy to lose the original tips that come with the Bose headphones. Mine are a couple of years old so they originally had the old-style tips. I debated whether to get the new style but for a few bucks I figured what the heck. Well, they may look funny, but they work. I thought it might be hard to get them into the right position, but they just tuck right into that little curve of your ear without even trying and then they DON'T MOVE. So soft that they're not uncomfortable in the least. I love them!

I used to have to push my earbuds back into my ears all the time while I was running on the treadmill (or doing anything that required movement). Now, I put in the earbuds, and go about my business. I can even drop my iPhone (not recommended), and the earbuds don't pop out. These things are awesome. I would recommend them to anyone that likes to listen to their music while doing any activity that causes you to move your head around.

Awesome!!!! The other positive reviews say it all. Just get a pair when you lose your current tips. I have quite a big head but medium fits me perfectly. The extensions fit snugly inside your ears' contours and hold the business end in place. Very comfortable, and secure. - Electronics - Very Good - Comfortable - Ipod'

Hanging File Folder Bars - office supplies, file folders

Not much to say about file folders, is there? I mean, they lasted all year (no tearing, some wearing), holding my students' classwork and various other paperwork. They seemed a bit expensive, but these days I order pretty much everything I need through Amazon for the convenience. Plus, now that I'm a Prime Member (best thing ever), I can think I need something, and actually have it within 2 days. Can't beat that. Smead Expandable Hanging File Pockets, Letter Size, 3-1/2-Inch-Capacity, Assorted Colors, 4 Pack (64290)

When I ordered this file pockets I thought that the concept was a good idea. File pockets that expand, yea that could work instead of the traditional pockets that, when they become over loaded, tend to bulge, lose their shape and fall off the file brackets.

Pro...they expand

Con...you have to place the files within the accordion like folds. You cannot just put a file in the pocket, you have to strategically place them in order for them to fit correctly.

I haven't actually expanded the file pockets to the maximum, so I don't know if doing so would fix the problem that I seem to have with them.

Other than that, they are file pockets. They hold files. That's what they do.

First of all, I wish the product page specified that these folders are made of cardboard. It only says it's made from 10% recycled material. I thought it was made of recycled plastic. I bought these because they are expandable and I store a lot of files. They are sturdy enough and having different colors is a plus in organizing. I would give it 5-stars because Smead is a good brand but the price is a bit steep, especially since it's only cardboard, just like any folder. - Hanging Folders - File - File Folders - Office Supplies'

Paranormal Romance

With the large glut of paranormal romance titles on the market, I probably wouldn't have noticed this book if the authors hadn't advertised the story on Amazon's Kindle forum. I'm very glad they did. The book is short (I think it's technically considered a novella) but it raises a lot of interest in the series. The book is well-written and a great read. The authors manage to avoid the stereotype you see in a lot of romance novels where you have 2 people who dislike each other feel an unstoppable attraction that leads from one sex scene to another. The two main characters, Sasha and Garrick are written as believable characters who enjoy each other's company. There's a lot of build-up to the relationship. I only had two complaints - first of all, this was definitely Sasha's story. There was enough shown of Garrick to get a feel for his character, but that was it. From the description on the sequel, I think that will be addressed in the next book. Also, I felt the book ended very abruptly. The reason the characters met at the beginning (was Garrick a spy or wasn't he) wasn't really addressed or resolved. I think another paragraph could have resolved the story. On the other hand, since the next book has the next meeting of the same characters, I suspect there will be a mention of the first meeting. The book definitely fulfilled the purpose of the authors' initial notice on the Kindle forum. As soon as I finished the story, I immediately purchased the next book in the series. I'll be very interested in new works by these authors and I hope the third book is available soon. Uncovered Passion

This story is a teaser to get you hooked on the book that follows. It's short and ends abruptly without any idea of how it will end. If I had known this I would not have purchased it. Since it is just a teaser, it should have been free. It is an usual story about a young woman in Russia who can read minds and is being controlled by the government. Don't buy it unless you are willing to buy the others that come after it in the series. I won't as it's too unbelievable to me.

Poor grammar is scattered throughout this novelette, and the situations are contrived and uninteresting. The language is somewhat graphic and blunt - I don't think this would appeal to many female readers; rarely did I feel any emotional identification with the characters. The female protagonist's moral difficulties that go along with being able to read other people's minds is not explored, which seems a waste of a good opportunity - I was mildly curious as to what the male protagonist's secret is, but not nearly enough to suffer through the next installment of this series. There is much better erotic paranormal fiction out there - I'd say skip these authors until they at least have more experience or a better editor.'

Cell Phone Accessories - motorola, razr battery

"Original OEM" battery? Oh please...Motorola doesn't make anything this shoddy. Light grey label, fake hologram that is crooked and hangs over the edge of the battery. This is the worst counterfeit I've ever seen. It has EVERY indication that the Motorola Genuine Product Identification Guide says to look for.

Now I'm not naive...I know a $1.87 battery isn't OEM. I do expect it to at least be functional though. One phone refused to turn on with this battery (phone lights up and immediately shuts down) and my other one says "Unauthorized Battery." My desk charger refuses it too, with a flashing error light. MOTOROLA OEM BR50 RAZR V3 V3a V3c V3g V3i V3m BATTERY

This is the 3rd "OEM" battery I bought via Amazon Marketplace -- as with the others, it was terrible. I ordered form the OEM shop a BR50. They sent a BR56 which is supposed to be even better with 3 hours talk time. It did not last 30 minutes after a complete overnight charge. Nowhere as long as the battery I am trying to replace which lasts over an hour instead of the original 2 1/2 hours.

OEM sent a counterfeit fake battery --- not OEM. How can you tell? Because Motorola OEM batteries are made in Japan. These say clearly that they are made in china. I had the same problem and returned the same battery from Wireless Phone Accessories and Batteries4Less.

AMAZON_- you should be screening these sellers and addressing these issues. There are a ton of posts under every single one of the Motorola Razr battery listing that say they got bad or counterfeit batteries.

Theses companies make their money by selling junk, counting on the Amazon customer not to feel it is worth the hassle to return it. For every one I have to return I lose an hour of my time. My time is worth more than th $10 I get ripped off for. But I do it anyway b/c hopefully at some point AMAZON is going to take responsibility for the conduct of their market sellers. AMAZON's new logo is to become the most customer centric company on earth. Well AMAZON, you can start here: Bargain Cell -- which is one of the worst offenders,

Wireless Phone Accessories and now

The OEM Shop -- what a joke for a name for the last one since clearly they KNOW they are selling counterfeit batteries.

I paid $30 for one from batteries4less hoping to get the real deal -- I got the exact same batter I got from the OEM shop -- the exact same counterfeit. So it has nothing to do with the price paid. Just dishonest online sellers.

I bought this battery along with a auto charger. The auto charger worked as far as I could tell, but the battery was trash. It appears to be a cheap Chinese knock-off masquerading as a Motorola battery. After a full charge, it would go dead after 3 minutes talking and likewise in 2 days without use. Everything on the battery is Chinese, so can't tell what date it was manufactured, but if new- a bad product- if old.... I tried draining totally and recharging with the phone off- with exact same results. I got another battery through Amazon via Accessory One and it is a genuine Motorola manufactured battery in 2008, this year- all white.

Update: WebTreo sent a refund immediately after I sent an inquiry through Amazon- no questions asked. They also phoned to appologize for the quality of the battery.

So lesson is- don't buy the "black" battery from WebTreo. The other purchased item (car charger) though arrived fast and worked fine. If you need a battery, get the white one from Accessory One. Phone is Motorola RAZR V3m.

I bought two of these batteries for my RAZR V3. They work. The seem to hold a charge about as long as my old stock battery, which I estimate to be a couple years old, so I doubt they are truly OEM. I use a separate charger to charge my batteries and just swap batteries once one is almost dead, and I fully cycle the batteries between most uses (using repeating video before battery swapping until the phone powers down). I haven't done any true data analysis with them to provide you with better info. I would buy them again. You get what you pay for, and I doubt these last as long as a new, truly OEM battery. I'm happy with using two of these batteries that combine for about 150% the life of the OEM for a total cost which is much less than that of one new OEM battery.

I bought this battery because the old one I had that came with the phone wouldn't hold a charge for very long. I got this battery and the first day it lasted about 12 hours now it lasts about 8 and I hardly use my phone. I know it only cost me 3 bucks but still if you are going to advertise that this is an OEM replacement it should preform like one reguardless of the price. I have contacted the seller to get this issue resolved lets wait and see if they respond.

I replaced a battery that was not holding a charge like it did new. This battery I bought as "OEM" is no better than my old one that is worn out. My original OEM battery held a charge for two days of my usage, This "new" will not last a full day. - Motorola - Razr Battery - Razr - Br50'

Cleat Nailer - hardwood floor nailer, hardwood flooring nailer

The 2" cleats were great floor nailing down the bamboo flooring the we had. We could not be happier. We had no problem with the cleats going in straight and feeding throught the nailer. The porter Cable nailer is also an awesome piece of equipment. I would reconmend it to all. The price of the cleats was very fair and reasonable. Bostitch FLN-200 2-Inch Flooring L-Nail, 1000-Per Box

As to quality---they are nails. Good nails. But buy them through Amazon. They cost nearly twice as much in the home-center type stores. And the smaller hardware stores often do not carry flooring fastners. I am using these in a Ramsond floor nail gun and they work fine.

I used these to secure down 3/4" thick Bruce Oak hardwood floors, they penetrate the flooring and the 3/4" subfloor with approx. 1/4" protruding below the subfloor. They hold very tight which is perfect. No complaints with these nails.

I used these nails to install 3/4" maple & brazilian cherry hardwood floors at my house. I've used about 1.5 boxes so far and no jams. Only one nail was bent and didn't go through the cherry. That happened to be the last nail in the nailer so I think that's more of a problem of the nailer instead of the nail. Now I put a new row of nails in before it runs out in the nailer. No bent nails had happened since then and it also protect the nailer from dry firing.

Great product.

It's cheaper at amazon than my local HomeDepot.

I used these nails to install a tongue and groove pine floor. As far as a nail goes they are pretty typical. I guess one way to evaluate them would be to say that they didn't jam my nail gun, which is something that frequently happens with my air stapler and some types of staples. The floor is about 6 months old and the nails seem to be holding fine.

Bought these Bostitch nails at the same time I bought the Bostitch Pneumatic floor nailer on Amazon. Nails came very quickly but nailer never came. Lots of excuses from Amazon and CSN but never got the nailer. Notified price of nails went down after order came. Price of Bostitch nailer went up $300. Can not say as to how they work as I have no way of using them without a nailer. Looks like the best use for them might be a paper weight. Amazon has went down a little bit in my eyes as they did not respond to what I thought was a "Bait and Switch" scheme. Just a lot of different excuses from Amazon and CSN.

This is by far the best price I have seen for these nails. I did have to return the first shipment because it wasn't packaged properly and the nail strips were all broke apart, but they paid for return postage and shipped a new box out right away. - Pneumatic Floor Nailer - Hardwood Floor Nailer - Hardwood Flooring Nailer - Fasteners'

Civil War Prelude - comics, marvel civil war

"Civil War: Front Line, Book 1" is the first of two trade paperback volumes that collect this 11-issue mini-series that ties into the "Civil War" event that drew a great big line in the sand for Marvel's superheroes. The New Warriors were battling a group of supervillains in Stamford, Connecticut, when one of the bad guys, Nitro, exploded and killed over 600 people. In the wake of this disaster Congress passes the Superhuman Registration Act. Iron Man supports the SRA while Captain America, whose identity is already known, opposes registration and draws others to his side, with Spider-Man being the one stuck in the middle, originally siding with Tony Stark and then gong over to the other side. Marvel's "Civil War" is a major event because it is a concerted effort to make secret identities a thing of the past. Issues #1-6 of "Civil War: Front Line" are collected in this first of two volumes.

"Front Line" has two major plotlines. First, "Embedded" follows a pair of reporters as they cover the two sides of the war, with Ben Urich covering Iron Man's side and Sally Floyd investigating Captain America and his supporters. But before that happens Spider-Man visits Sally to talk about what the SRA would mean for his family if he reveals his identity because the government demands superheroes register their identities of go to jail. Then Iron Man reveals to the world that his name is Tony Stark and everything changes. By the time we get to issue #2 the world knows Peter Parker is Spider-Man, which enrages both J. Jonah Jameson and Norman Osborn, and Iron Man is bringing in the first superhero to refuse to be registered. Floyd has to go blindfolded to a secret location to interview those resisting registration while Urich is checking out what Mr. Fantastic has come up with for "prisoners," and the Civil War claims its first casualties as things start to get ugly.

Second, "The Accused" focuses on Speedball, the only one of the New Warriors to survive the Stamford disaster who has to deal not only with being arrested for what happened but also finds himself powerless and suffering from survivor's guilt. But Speedball refuses to say he is guilty and as an unregistered combatant no longer has any legal rights (parallels to the War on Terrorism are really big in this storyline), even though Jennifer Walters (She-Hulk) shows up as his lawyer. There are additional stories and sections in these comics as well, the most prominent of these is "Sleeper Cell," which has to do with how the Atlanteans become involved in this whole mess. Again, the parallels to contemporary events are painfully obvious but the last page you get for this storyline in Book 1 is going to make you think of Dallas in November 1963.

On the basis of the six issues reprinted here you would think that "Front Line" is an allegorical critique of the War on Terrorism, with all of the obvious parallels to the real world in the Marvel Universe. Obviously that is a key element in what is happening in this comic book, but what will prove to be more important is that this is about the story behind the story. It is just that there is more to that story that you can tell at this point and it is not until we get to the final issue that we learn what this mini-series is really about. In that regard it turns out to be not a minor addition to the "Civil War" saga but an important perspective on what Mark Millar and Steve McNiven were doing over on the main stage in the "Civil War" mini-series. Of course I do not want to give anything away, but if you were sitting on the fence in terms of which side you were on in this particular conflict then the end of the "Embedded" part of "Civil War: Front Line" is going to make it pretty clear that while one leader is wrong, the other is way more wrong. In contrast story of the "The Accused" becomes relative minor while "The Sleeper Cell" turns out to be a key piece of the big picture.

Paul Jenkins writes all of the stories in "Front Line," with "Embedded" being penciled by Ramon Bachs and inked by John Lucas, while Steve Lieber is the artist for "The Accused," and Lee Weeks pencils what Rob Campanella inks on "Sleeper Cell." Each issue ends on a poetic note, as the events of the Civil War are juxtaposed against the diverse texts as an anonymous poem circulated at the Poston War Relocation Camp during the summer of 1943, Plutarch writing about Julius Caesar crossing the Rubicon, Wilfred Owen's poem "Futility," Billy Joel's lyrics for "Goodnight Saigon," a pair of letters written by two brothers on opposite sides of the U.S. Civil War, and an epigraph by A.E. Houseman commemorating the dead of the Somme offensive. So some history and literature is thrown in for some nice ironic effects. Civil War: Front Line, Book 1 (Bk. 1)

For those of you wondering about some of the many plot holes and loose ends left over from the main Civil War storyline, Civil War: Front Line fills in some of the gaps. Scripted by Paul Jenkins, Front Line follows many of the smaller details of the main events of Marvel's massive, universe shattering crossover. In this first TPB, we find pro-registration hero Iron Man revealing his identity to the public, and we see the aftermath of Spider-Man's revelation to the public that he is Peter Parker (in particular, that of J. Jonah Jameson and Norman "The Green Goblin" Osborne), as well as learning that Speedball was the only survivor of the New Warriors fiasco that jumpstarted the entire road to registration. This section in particular is where Front Line shines, as we see the former hero powerless, guilt-ridden, and fighting for his life. We also see the effects of the Civil War on embattled Daily Bugle reporter Ben Urich, as well as seeing the events from his eyes. Yes, along with the great art throughout, Front Line is possibly even better than the main Civil War storyline; all of which makes it a more than worthy pick up for those who enjoyed the main storyline and are looking to fill in some of the gaps. - Marvel Comics - Comics - Marvel Civil War - Captain America'
