Roto Zip - roto zip

I am a remodeler and cutting plaster/buttonboard in older houses can be tough. I got only one hole cut for a six 6" can lights before my Greenlee hole saw was ruined. This bit in my Rotozip cut the last five and plenty of holes in the walls for outlets and for pulling wire (unlike a regular electrician I have to patch my holes so a square cut is worth it) . It did take a couple bits (you can see the "teeth" getting worn down) and near the end of a bit's life, you get more cutting by working the bit in and out. It's a dusty job and you should wear more than a cheap dust mask. I also found a full face shield worked much better than goggles.I have been trying to buy some more of these bits at Home Depot (couldn't wait for a Amazon order) but the clerk told me that Bosch had just bought out Rotozip and that it would be a while before new bits came in under the Bosch name(?)$10/bit is expensive but they get the job done. RotoZip DC1 Duracut Bit Pack

This bit is incredible. It has cut through everything that I have used it on and it is still as sharp as the day I got it. It really lasts a long time. Great for any person who had stuff to cut and wants a bit that will cut through many different surfaces.

I have a 1940's home and bought this bit to cut the top of my living room wall's perimeter, just below the curve at the coved cieling because the walls are shot and need to be redone. My walls consist of 1/2 inch drywall with 1/4 + inch mortar, and 1/16 plaster and about 10 coats of paint. It's a DUSTY job, but the bit did it without a problem. I was just praying not to hit one of the drywall nails. For the home user, the tool is great and serves its purpose.

I bought this bit at home depot for $8 and used it to cut 4 sheets of hardebacker board into a circle for an outdoor mosaic table substrate, using a 3 1/4 hp router and trammel arm. The bit worked quite well, athough I noticed I had to get the RPMs up on the variable speed router to get it to cut easily. I doubt using this bit in a lower powered roto zip could've produced the same results.

Perhaps the folks who don't like this bit should retry it in a router.

I used this to route a trough up my wall to conceal speak wire to my home theater speakers. It worked like a charm!!! My house is 1955 with plaster/mortar walls. I also used the dust extractor adapter - What a charm ABSOLUTELY NO DUST!!! If you have a Rotozip and a dust problem you need the dust extractor!!!

I used this to cut a hole in lath and plaster. It made enough holes for about 6-8 normal electrical boxes. Unfortunately the bit was pretty much toast after that. It did a good job but by the end it was almost burning the edges of the lath. Not that durable but good enough.

I called this the wood eraser. I ran this against the edge of the wall to remove excess plywood, and it was a breeze. I couldn't do that with a jigsaw because it was right against wall in the corner.

I also had to cut a circle for a hood vent. The original was rectangular. Trace the area to cut, and got it done in about 15 min. Couldn't think of any other tool that can do it easier. Will buy another for backup.

It does kick back a little, but you get used to it and use a little more strength to stabilize it.

The Rotozip is great for drywall if the shaft lock don't break, however the other accessories are a big bust and this one tops the list of worthless items I have bought for the only Rotozips I will ever buy. As a home builder I bought 3 Rotozip tools a year ago, never again. - Roto Zip'

Mini Scooter - mini scooter, toddlers scooter

We bought this scooter for our 3 year old after she used it all afternoon at her older cousins house. We knew she could ride it with ease & that she could grow for years with it. She was able to go for blocks & blocks without our help. (We did buy a helmut to go with it). Its her favorite thing to do when we're outside, Im so glad i went with this one as opposed to the less expensive/smaller child option. maxi kick Scooter - NEON PINK with T-Bar Steering. Winner of the Oppenheim Portfolio Gold and Platinum Seal Awards 2009

I purchased a third Kick Scooter for my 2 kids because my oldest outgrew her Mini and gave the old one to my niece. They love it, can control it immediately and I feel confident that they are safe on sidewalks of the busy roads we traverse on our way to the park. It's easy to turn and stop. Plus, when the 3-year-old gets tired, it's really lightweight to carry home. I highly recommend it, especially as a first scooter.

My daughter LOVES this scooter. Even though she's only 4 1/2 she was able to ride it very quickly. There is almost no learning curve...just jump on and go ! My only concern is that these scooters (designed in Switzerland) are actually made in China. So be aware that a heavier/stronger child might tear it up in a week. So you have to decide if the high price is worth it for you ! - First Scooter - Scooters - Toddlers Scooter - Mini Scooter'

Pre-kindergarte - communication, kids

I bought this game not knowing what to expect. Of the 51 cards, there are many cards in this pack that were hits with my children (who are 4 and 6). Some of the cards are games, and some are thought-provoking questions (such as: what is your favorite color? food?). The cards are good conversation starters, and the children do get excited when we bring the box to the table. Each card can be played very quickly and with little preparation time or supplies. To play the games, children do not need to read.

Nevertheless, most of the ideas in the box are tried and true games that we adults have played at some point in our lives. (They will be new to your kids.) The box is a nice vehicle to lend excitement to familiar parlor games, but it is not necessary.

Am I glad that I bought the box? Yes. For a relatively small expenditure, I can have some creative ideas at my fingertips. Do you need this box to have family fun at the dinner table? No, but you will have to work a little harder to create the family fun without the pre-packaged suggestions. Beginner Dinner Games

Both my kids (5 and 2) enjoy and this game and it makes dinner time fun. I questioned whether to get this version or the older version for my 5 year old and she likes this younger version just fine. There are not many cards but she likes to play her favorite games over and over. Even though the 2 year old doesn't understand he picks up on the fun and some of the easy concepts.

We have had so much fun with this game. We love to play games at dinner so this allows everyone to participate. We recently had family in town and played young and old alike. Everyone had a blast and my son is learning a lot about taking turns, following directions and playing fair. I highly recommend.

We bought this for our daughter as a stocking stuffer. I have two girls ages 6 and almost 3. Prior to buying this game dinners were something I dreaded. My girls complained about what I fixed and we spent most of dinner telling our children to sit in their seats and eat nicely, begging them to eat and behave. Now my girls our so excited to play that they sit and eat with their manners. We don't start the games until half way through dinner and this gives them incentive to eat. We usually select 2-3 cards prior to dinner and then we start to play. The games really encourage family interaction. We all talk, joke, and share like never before. There are also games that encourage learning such as listening to a story and then answering questions or figuring things out. My youngest doesn't always follow the instructions, but she tries to play her best and has fun. All of the games our unique and really make dinner a special time. We now spend more time as a family around the table. This is my first review and as a busy mom I never thought I would write one, but this product is so great I had to share. A must have for families with young children. Great for going out to eat too.

Family Time Fun Beginner Dinner Games

Dinner time used to be a chore for us. We have a 3 year old and a 5 year old who don't like to sit at the table, but that has changed for us. My kids love the games in this product. They are engaged and ask to play it every time we sit down as a family. It's a great product!

My family always played "talking games" at the table growing up, though they came out of my mother's own head. We got the Beginner Dinner Games set for my nieces because their dad didn't do that with them, and we thought it would give him some ideas - and it did! The kids glommed onto it like nobody's business and really loved it. Still do, in fact.

One thing I don't like, though, is that not all the cards are games. Some are little puzzles that, really, can only be done once. Not so much fun there.

Bought this for my daughter who is 7. She loves games and I thought it would be a good opener for talking at dinner.

We have had fun each night answering questions about our day or about each family member.

Dinner time with my 3 1/2 and 5 1/2 year old sons can easily turn into potty humor and silly talk. With these games, the adults and children are brought into a conversation everyone can enjoy! From talking about our days, eating new foods, or sharing silly stories, the activities on the cards make dinner time fun. We keep them on the table and the boys regularly request them.

I got this on a whim for my 2 daughters, ages 3 & 6. We had been having some attention span problems at the dinner table and these games have really helped us. The kids beg to get out a new game and are willing to stay at the table a little longer without pouting or complaining.

Like other reviewers mentioned, I could have made up a lot of these myself. It is, however, nice having a list all in one place. The attractive packaging makes it much more exciting for the children as well. Some of the games are certainly more fun than others. Thumbs Up was a big hit. What's Missing didn't work out so well when someone decided to hide peas under the table.

All in all, I like the variety of games. We've enjoyed using them and will continue to use them.

This game has brought new fun and interactivity to dinner time with our two four-year olds. When we have company with little kids, it is fun with them, also. These games hold our light eaters at the table longer. Some even get them to eat and drink more! We highly recommend this product. - Familytime Fun - Family - Kids - Communication'

Natalie Portman - thriller, sex

All the ingredients for a fine contemporary comedy are here, including a pertinent theme (the difficulty of finding love amid career obligations and easy sex) and an assortment of courageous young actors (Natalie Portman, Ashton Kutcher, Greta Gerwig, Olivia Thirlby). Unfortunately the director is Ivan Reitman, who's never made a more emotionally complex film than Meatballs (1979). Telling the story of a med student (Portman) and an aspiring TV writer (Kutcher) who try to navigate a "sex friendship" without falling in love, Reitman settles for easy laughs, and his off-color jokes about menstruation and drug use feel like greeting-card gags. The charismatic leads keep this watchable, but it's a waste of their talents. No Strings Attached (Two-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo + Digital Copy)

Comment: This review is written by an older guy from the "free love" Emerson Lake and Palmer, Black Sabbath, Yes, and Beatles generation. I don't usually watch "chick flicks", but i'm a movie collector, so some "get through". This film is a (hard core) formula movie for this genres (chick flick). I have to say that when this movie started I couldn't help but think how "prissy and "gay-like" (the new generation depicted by this movie...) was looking and acting. As the story started to go... it started to become entertaining. One thing that I just couldn't get past was the casual way people had sex with each other. I mean even back in my day of "free love" (despite what you may of heard or read) when you were "boning a girl" you liked, you didn't pass her around like a reefer (as some of the characters were doing). My "distilled" comment for this movie is that if you strip away all the "fluff" around the main story it is somewhat entertaining. Is it believable or true to life... not a chance in hell. Please don't "flame mail" me as some have done in the past. This is a "free and open" venue for us to express our opinions. Thank You.

I thought this would be a cheesy movie with a few good moments and I was completely wrong. Typically, the man is a womanizer, a workaholic, etc. In this movie, the rolls are reversed. Natalie plays a doctor that is a workaholic who has a serious commitment phobia. She creates an odd friends with benefits relationship with Ashton, that backfires on her. Ashton plays a romantic who wants more out of the relationship and decides he doesn't want to play games anymore. The movie had a great flow. There were some funny moments, some sad moments, etc. I thought a couple of the kissing scenes were a little awkward/rushed, but other than that, the acting was great. When the credits start rolling, keep watching. There is still a little more to the story.

Definitely a movie for adults. Lots of talk about guys' "d***s", sex, complicated relationships, one night stands, etc.

It is really sad when you get your expectations up with a new Ivan Reitman comedy only to be bitterly dissapointed by it. There is a hardly any chemistry between the two protaganists (Portman and Kutcher). All we get is a bawdy comedy with a slow moving story. Kevin Kline is simply wasted. Just oh dear, yawn.

Sex without love is an impossible task? Some ladies of the evening may disagree. This isn't a bad movie just a totally predictable one. For the first two-thirds of the film it seems like it's nothing but a bunch of self-absorbed yuppies yammering about their delusional opinions on love and sex. Ashton Kutcher's randy dad played by Kevin Kline was the only thing making the enterprise palatable. It's only in the last third that the film redeems itself when it reaches the inevitable conclusion that yes, love between two people is a possibility. They released this film over Valentine's Day Weekend and I guess it would be a servicable date movie though those offended by rough and frank language might look elsewhere. Otherwise, it's pretty forgettable. Natalie, you won an Oscar! What are you doing in ho-hum fare like this?

can it be done..a no-strings relationship?? absolutely but this shows the, perhaps, flexibility of both sides .... the film would have been better without the suddenly and usual today reversal of "typical" character-roles in no-strings relationships ... why was he so surprised at the no-strings attitude???

Ashton Kutcher was not, however, very believable .. a bit kitschy and Natalie Portman's performance was trying too hard to retain the distance ... A no-strings relationship is OK and the film was OK.

I consider myself to be a solid judge of a movie based on the previews, and this movie's previews definitely piqued my interest. As a single woman, begrudgingly falling into the stereotype, I'm always seeking a good love story that I can relate to. Unfortunately, I felt that this one fell flat. A decent overall movie to watch on a rainy day, but a uninspiring storyline.

I've had this for about 6 months and never watched it, finally watched it and it was so funny. I thought this might not be that good but it was really good, soo funny! What friends with benefits should be about, and what happens when it turns messy! I loved it! - Sex - Thriller'

I agree with the previous reviewer. This is great sci-fi writing. Epic storytelling that is full of action and adventure. There are also quite a few surprises along the way. The pulpy name of the novel might turn off some, but it's really not reflective of the how good the story really is. I know it was re-released a couple of years ago as "The Survivors" and that name is more accurate.

The story and plot are several notches above most writing of the period and this now one of my favorite books. They should try to make a movie out of this.... Space Prison, The Survivors (The science fiction thriller classic!)

Overall, this was a very entertaining book, and when I was finished with it, checked to see if there was a sequel (there isn't); so I would definitely recommend it. It's original title, "The Survivors", describes the book well. It follows a group of people who are stranded on an uninhabited but hostile planet. Over several generations, they have to adapt to their environment in order to survive.

The book does a great job of portraying the feelings of helplessness and despair the people feel in the beginning, and how that changes to acceptance and survival, and ultimately to confidence and mastery. The challenges are interesting and come from both the environment and from the people themselves. The challenges are varied enough that the book stays fresh throughout.

The beginning and especially the end almost feel like afterthoughts. This doesn't detract too much from the excellent middle part, but it's definitely jarring how quickly things get resolved in the end. You also definitely need to suspend your disbelief to an extent while you're reading, since some of the events are fairly incredible, e.g. the speed with which they adapt to the environment. In addition, because the story spans multiple generations, it makes it more difficult to identify with the characters.

Altogether though, none of these flaws ruins what was a very enjoyable read that left me wanting more.

Tom Godwin (1915-1980) has a strange career as a sci-fi writer. He has written only three novels and around thirty short stories. With such exiguous production he managed to deliver an outstanding tale: "The Cold Equations" (1954) and a very readable novel: "Space Prison" (1958) (aka "The Survivors").

His works are very representative of the sci-fi from the `50s: not so great character development, action centered storyline, young adult readers oriented.

Nevertheless the present book managed to have a Gnome Press edition and at least two Pyramid Books edition, a good performance for a little known author.

The story starts when war between Humans and Gerns erupted. In this context a human interstellar ship with eight thousand colonists is captured. Half of the group is stranded in a hellish planet very suitably named Ragnarok.

The four thousand Rejects has to face 1.5 gravity pull, prowlers (a deadly mixture of wolf & tiger), unicorns (massive murderous bulls), Hell Fever, rotten weather (in short term and long term) amongst other "hazards".

Their numbers soon dwindle to forty nine!

From that point on generation after generation the Rejected, steel themselves with only one aim: take revenge on the Gerns.

One special attribute of this novel is, not being centered on a character but on successive generations of them, encompassing a two hundred years span.

This is a good sample of 50's sci-fi lit.

I would have to rate this as "ok for kids and young teens but not really for adults." The concept is interesting and could have been developed into an interesting saga. However, I think the execution is flawed. What could have been a complex and interesting story is overly simplistic; the straightline plot proceeds from start to end with very few surprises and few branches or subplots. The ending is predictable from about page 5 on. Character development is essentially non-existent as the action proceeds through hundreds of years and multiple characters very quickly and superficially - essentially the only thing you know about the characters is their names. The story and setting are seriously cliched: good guys are completely and purely heroic and bad guys are completely and purely evil with no shades of gray on either side. As you might expect all obstacles are overcome by the heroic efforts of the good guys, some in pretty unbelievable ways (essential physical and mental traits evolve in only a few years.) To no one's suprise they triumph easily in the end. If you want a quick, simple, and easy read then this book fills the bill. If you want something a little more intresting and engaging then you should skip this one.

I read Space Prison when I was a bored 9 year old one summer. I could not put it down. This is the book that started my love of science fiction. From this book I went on to devour the EE Doc Smith Lensman series, and many more. Of course I am now 60, but I continue to love to read sci fi. In fact, I re read this book not too long ago and enjoyed it all over again. Would I call it literary ? No, but would I call it good, yes !

I barely managed to finish this book. The writing was just awful - very choppy, little characterization, chunky narrative. The plot had a lot of potential though, so I skimmed through to see where it went. This could be a really great story in the hands of a writer with skill.

This story keeps you enthralled until the very end. Each chapter moves you onward to the ending, which I cannot tell you, as you need to read this book. The author brings the characters together to a common goal as they share their terrible hardships to exist on a new/different planet. Very enjoyable

The story follows the human survivors of an alien attack over several generations, and the plot is basically man-is-strong-and-can-triumph-over-any-adversity. To that end, it portrays the surviving humans as incredibly adaptable, resourceful and determined, to an unrealistic degree. Its flag waiving for the strength of the human will and adaptability -- the reader is allowed to understand from the get go that its a foregone conclusion that these pitful survivors struggling for survival will eventually bring the aliens to their knees. The only question for the book is how we get their.

The book -- apparently written in the 1950's -- is deliberately streamlined to a degree that is not generally found in modern works. For example, we are never told what the aliens actually look like. We are never told what the "Hell Fever" that kills so many actually is, why it strikes whom it strikes, and no effort is made to explain how it could possible be so deadly. We are not told how one could have a world with only four indigenous animals. All of this is just presented simply and quickly, with only the bare minimum details important to the story. In an odd way, it is perhaps a bit easier to achieve suspension of disbelief when there is no effort to explain anything, and things are just presented as facts, forget the explanations.

If you have read other early sci-fi stories, this style will not seem unusual. If not, the lack of any detail in the science and the unrealistic portrayal of the determination, adaptability, togetherness, etc. of the survivors will strike you as a little unusual. I personally feel that the style still works, but you can judge for yourself.

Despite the deliberate limits of the book, it is tremendously well written within the narrow parameters of what it is trying to do, and trendous fun. One can't help but be carried along with the iron will and determination of the group to survive and achieve revenge. For example, after a five year old little boy's mother is killed, he is offered his teddy bear. He says something to the effect of, "I dont need it. I wont be playing anymore" which the boy says, not out of sadness or despair, but because he understands he will need to be strong to survive and make the aliens pay. Cheesy and unrealistic? Sure, but one cant help but be born along by the patriotic drumbeat marking the strength of the human resolve.

Despite its limits, I enjoyed the book greatly, and its a great buy for .99. - E-reader - Kindle Dx - Kindle Devices - I Own It'

Yoga Pants

I LOVE these, just ordered a second pair. The fabic is thick enough to look good, but not so thick that they make you hot and they hold up well in the washer/dryer. The only problem that I had was that I'm 5'2" and the legs are a few inches too long. Given the quality - I don't mind the extra time it takes to hem them - if you're "waivering" about whether you should buy these or not - do it! DCS Cotton Spandex Full Length Dance Workout Pant (Large, Black)

I took the seller's advice and ordered an extra large pair. But they're huge. Very baggy. I don't even think they'd stay up. They're also Bella brand. Why not say that? So, there's nothing wrong with the product, but the description is bad.

These pants are incredibly comfortable for weight-lifting, yoga, jogging, you name it. You should buy one size larger than you normally wear and the pants should fit perfectly. I'm 5'7" and it's nice to have pants long enough to cover my tennies.

I did a lot of comparison shopping for yoga pants. Some mall store wanted $80 per pair. The pants I got on line are just as good...I got them in 3 colors for just over $60 total. A great value and good shipping service.

Nice pants but very long. The inseam is for someone who is over 6 feet tall. So count on hemming them. They are definitely a junior cut. Kind of go up my butt a little even when I'm not working out. And it's noticeable. I agree with another reviewer, you only need to order one size up because they are a junior cut. Kind of clingy around the stomach & butt area, but they do look nice. Doesn't cover up "flaws" well. So I'd recommend being somewhat in shape before ordering them.'

Smoke Alarm - photoelectric, smoke alarm

I have owned this for 6 months or so. It works just fine, just like it should. I have it placed in my kitchen, so I was waiting for it to be going off all the time from steam, but it doesn't. It went off for the first time last night, a piece of popcorn dropped onto the burner and it smoked up and the alarm went off. Does the job! First Alert SA710CN Smoke Alarm with Photoelectric Sensor

This alarm, like other First Alert/BRK products works fine for about a year, and then the fun begins. Falses randomly, at all hours. We've been awaken at least FIVE times in the past month for false alarms. No other product has the track record First Alert Alarms do. They also have an unsatisfactory BBB record. No wonder, the thieves want to charge me $6 shipping to replace THEIR defective unit. Go with another brand, unless your alarm clock is broken

Our old smoke detectors used to go off every time we broil a steak - which can make the house a bit smoky. These don't false when cooking. We have two. There is a mute button. Mounting is easy with the removable mounting plate. A+. Uses one 9v battery. Off brand battery included.

Installation was quite easy and the unit comes with a battery, anchors, and two #6 3/4 inch screws. The anchors are a bit short so if you are installing into anything other than plain drywall you might need longer anchors and screws. This unit looks modern but when mounted on the ceiling it is a bit ungainly looking. The old detector was about 5 inches by an inch and a half (Kiddie) and the new First Alert is 5 inches by almost 2 and 1/4 inches. Then again it is on the ceiling so no one will notice. It functions well so far with no false alarms. I like the sounder because it uses temporal code-3 which is what modern fire alarm systems use, the sound is three pulses and then a pause, three pulses pause and this way you know what the sound is right away and the sound is totally different from an alarm clock. On a last note this kind of detector is photovoltaic which means it is less prone to false alarms from kitchen smoke or shower steam but are less sensitive to fast burning fires with flames. Ionization detectors which use a small amount of a radioactive isotope are better at detecting those fires but cause more false alarms. This detector is great for areas near or around a kitchen but you should have both types in the bedroom. On a plus, these units are easier to recycle because they have 100% electric components and lack the radioactive element americium (a very small amount of a very week substance) that is used in the ionization type (they need to be returned to a collection center).

Lastly, the price is great so you can afford to pick up a couple to replace older units and since they last 10 years it is a small price to pay for safety.

I've had no problems with false alarms from this smoke detector over the last year. Most ionization based alarms I have owned in years past generated lots of false alarms. This one hasn't produced a single false alarm, but I feel confident that it will work correctly when a real emergency occurs.

I have one of these smoke detectors installed in our bedroom hallway, and another in the garage. I have dual mode detectors (ionization and photoelectric) installed in each of the bedrooms.

i bought this for my parent's house which did not have AC hardwired smoke alarms. i also bought a long life lithium 9v battery from amazon so they would not need to replace the battery. they keep our son at their house frequently, so i wanted the benefits of the photoelectric smoke alarms and the lithium battery. i could not find a photoelectric smoke alarm and lithium power cell - so i made my own. it is placed just outside of their kitchen and they have not complained about any false alarms.

Put this up in my home and it simply works great. What price can you put on piece of mind? A must have for your home. I put one in every bedroom, one in the den, one in the kitchen area and one in the hallway. And this one has the photoelectric sensor which detects slow smoldering fires unlike the old ionic ones that won't.

Bought to replace an ionization type detector that was way too sensitive - kept going off when you opened the oven door or added wood to our fireplace. This new photoelctric type eliminated the false alarms. So far, so good. Moved the ionization detector to our basement, where it has done well.

I bought 4 of these and all lost battery power within 6 month of installing. No big deal, just replace with new batteries I though. I bought duracell, energizer, and even ever ready brands. All battery brands loose power after a month and the unit starts the low battery beep. This can't be a battery problem. Move on to another model. Though cheap, the unit will end up being a liability. - Sensitive - Photoelectric - Smoke Alarm - First Alert'

Inspirational True Story - football, based on the true story

*** This review contains spoilers ***

The Blind Side is one of those movies that manages to evoke a huge difference in opinion as to whether film works or not. I'm somewhere in the middle. Certainly the saga of the White Republican Tuohy family who takes in Michael Oher, a black kid from the 'other side of the tracks', and then helps him to become what he has become today, a very successful NFL star football player, is an inspirational tale of true Christian charity. On the other hand, the story is riddled with so many clichés that ultimately the film devolves into a predictable tale of the rise of an underprivileged youth.

Some posters argue that the white characters in the film, particularly the Tuohy family themselves, come off as saintly and the black characters are all presented as negative stereotypes. I don't see that at all. For starters, the first black character we meet, 'Big Tony' Hamilton, is a self-sufficient and kindly man who ends up being responsible for getting Big Mike into the Wingate Christian school where he eventually thrives. Leigh Anne Tuohy is hardly a saint as she is depicted as sensitive but also a thoroughly pushy and sometimes obnoxious woman who is capable at times, of putting her foot in her mouth. While Michael Oher is a slow learner, the film makes it quite clear that he has street smarts and inherently is a lot smarter than what the teachers at the Wingate school pegged him to be. Unfortunately, the film's scenarists know a lot more about Leigh Anne Tuohy's personality than Michael Oher's. This is perhaps the major shortcoming of the film as the warm, winning ways of Oher are not shown here; rather, he's depicted as thoroughly introverted and socially inept and rookie actor Quinton Aaron is unable to make much of a part that is quite thin to begin with.

The first third of the movie is perhaps the most moving as it shows Leigh Anne's Tuohy's growing realization that she has led an isolated life. In a most poignant scene, Tuohy is startled when Michael reveals that he's never slept in a bed before. Leigh Anne's willingness to take Michael in is tested in the scene involving the car accident. After Sean Tuohy Sr. buys Michael a new car, he gets into a car accident while the the young SJ is in the passenger seat. Somehow all is forgiven when it's revealed that Michael prevents the full force of the air bag from hitting SJ. Never discussed are the events preceding the crash--Michael and SJ are engaged in singing a rap song without Michael paying attention to the traffic ahead of them. I also wondered if Leigh Anne would have forgiven Michael so easily had SJ actually been seriously injured in the accident or even killed. Christian charity I suppose has its limits!

Once Oher is acclimated to his new family, 'The Blind Side' picks up the Hollywood mantle and offers up another tired and long-winded high school football scene, replete with the young SJ obnoxiously 'coaching' Oher before the big game along with Leigh Anne later fending off the token white racist in the stands. Oher not only gains confidence as a defensive tackle but the big teddy bear flips an opposing player over a fence after the bully has been mocking him before every play (how cute!).

Again, the second half of 'The Bind Side' ends up with mixed results. There's more 'cute' stuff when Leigh Anne hires a tutor (Kathy Bates) who tutors Michael to get his grade point average high enough to qualify for college. Liberal Hollywood needs to let us know that the tutor is a Democrat so that both conservative Republicans (the Tuohy family) and a Democrat both have a hand in helping Michael reach his goal. There's a stab at comedy when all the college recruiters start courting Michael and again the obnoxious child actor who plays SJ attempts to get the 'best deal' for himself in the event that Michael is recruited (stuff like walking out on the field at the beginning of the college football season).

When an NCAA Investigator questions the Tuohy family's motives in 'adopting' Michael after he accepts an invitation to attend Ole Miss, Michael impulsively returns to his old ghetto haunts. There he's taunted by Alton, the head gang member, brilliantly played by IronE Singleton (this actor has the potential to be a major star!) Michael gets into a fight with Alton and gets the better of him and then disappears. Leigh Anne looks high and low for Michael and confronts Alton. Some posters say the scene is implausible since the gang member would have retaliated when Leigh Anne challenged him. I'm not so sure--when she claims that she's friends with the DA, that in itself might have given Alton pause to take revenge. After all, he's a drug dealer who doesn't want any outsiders calling attention to his business. Finally Leigh Anne finds Michael after he calls her. There's a reconciliation and Michael is cleared by the NCAA after they finally accept his explanation that his decision to go to Ole Miss was made on his own free will. Of course Michael goes on to graduate from high school and is drafted by the NFL.

Sandra Bullock does an excellent job of conveying the brash personality of Leigh Anne Tuohy. Tim McGraw as Sean Sr. and Lily Collins as Collins Tuohy have little to do during the film. As previously mentioned, the youngster SJ (played by Jae Head) is simply obnoxious and Quinton Aaron does not know how to make Michael Oher into an engaging character. As 'The Blind Side' is based on a true story, it certainly is worth watching. Just don't expect much complexity when it comes to the majority of its characters. Exercise Apparel - activewear, shorts

The Champion Jersey Tee is a quality shirt. It does not shrink in the wash and the colors are bright (no fading so far). The neck opening runs a little big, but other than that it's a great fit. The Champion logo is featured on the side and this is a tagless shirt. While some shirts tend to feel cheap, the Champion Jersey Tee is nothing but quality. The material thickness is perfect.

UPDATE 5/19/10: Two years later and the shirts I ordered are still going strong. In fact, I have now ordered some more. :) Champion Men's Jersey Tee, Navy, X-Large

I was very happy with the two shirts that I ordered. A friend of mine likes the heavier t-shirts made by Champion but every time I buy them from their site or in stores, they are lightweight. The shipment arrived in no time at all!

Purchased a few of these to wear when working outside or riding my bike. I am very pleased with the quality of these. They are not thin and cheap feeling at all. Sizes were a little large when I first got the package, but they shrunk up just a bit in the wash and fit me perfect now.

I'm 5'8, 170 lbs, 40"+ chest and decided on the medium. The shirt was too big for my 6' 190 lb, 42" chest roommate in every dimension. I promptly returned the shirts (I had ordered 3) and didn't even bother to go down to Small because I think they'd still be too big. They are just plain cotton shirts and might be fine if you're a big guy. That being said, order at least 1 size smaller (probably 2) than you expect. They are long and wide. The sleeves are also really long no matter how tall/wide you are. I like the sleeves a little shorter and more narrow when I'm working out. Very disappointing. I ordered the Adidas AdiFit shirts instead. I haven't been able to find plain cotton, athletic fit, solid color t-shirts anywhere.

Not too much needs to be said here. These are just good shirts. Champion uses good thick fabric that holds it color. I like these shirts so I often check prices and add a short on to my orders as different colors go on special.

Nursing Bra - nursing, maternity

Bought these when I had my first baby. I can't say much more than this is all I wear. I have 3 and I rotate them. I need 6 more to be honest. When I'm home, I slip something over it if its too cold, and when time to feed I slip the over shirt/sweater/sweatshirt off, and feed. No walking around my house in winter wearing only my bra, no changing all the time. Best investment I made. I bought the bras that do the same thing and I prefer the tank instead. Gilligan & O'Malley® Womens Full Sling Long Nursing Tank - Black XL

I got 3 of these after the birth of my baby. Pros: good room in chest area, I am at least a DD (36) & the large is comfortable, functional for nursing, length is great & there is room for a belly.

Cons: pretty low cut, only reason I won't give 5 stars.

Ordrering from amazon was the way to go. Sizes at Target stores & online were limited.

I'm so pleased with the fit of this tank; when I can afford to buy more, I will! The clasps are as easy to work as the ones on my Gillian O'Malley nursing bras, and the fit is nice and long over my belly.

I've had a lot of trouble finding the right nursing bra and tank. My cup size increased a lot after baby was born and I live over-seas, in a country of small chested Asians! This tank has been great to keep my tummy covered and allow me to nurse in more public places. My only complaint is that I still feel like I need more support. The length is awesome!

I really like these tanks- however, this was a bit different than the one I had purchased at the store (of the same brand).

Maybe I didn't read close enough but this one only has minor support on the inside- the one I got at the store had much more support in the bra portion.

Otherwise the tank is great- super easy to unhook and rehook with one hand.

Only other caveat- if you have lost some or most of your baby weight the tanks are super long and a bit baggy- great right after you have the baby but not as good 6 mos later!

Super comfortable and handle being washed often well!

Doesn't offer much support. I should have known better than to assume it would, but for any woman with larger breasts, you will need to wear a separate (read: better) bra underneath. Also, the tank itself is strangely baggy in the midsection, even though I am not a really thin woman. It almost seems like it would be better suited as a maternity tank, it is that baggy. The Medela nursing tanks are better, although they are much pricier. However, even with a bigger chest, I can get away with just the support from the Medela tank, NOT something I can do with this one.

Very comfortable and has a great built in bra. I'm still pregnant and it stretches over my belly just fine. After washing and drying it goes right back down to size so i will definitely be able to wear it while nursing after pregnancy. - Nursing Cover Up - Modest - Maternity - Nursing'
