Whirlpool Water Filter  4396510 - refrigerator water filters, 4396508

I have used this filter and find this to be a very good filter for this cartridge type.

These little filters cannot remove everything from your refrigerator water system, you'll need a high quality reverse osmosis system for that.

Recently I found a website* that lists the actual impurities that this 4396510 filter removes, I quote:

* 99.35% of Lead at pH 6.5

* 99.31% of Lead at pH 8.5

* 96.70% of Mercury at pH 6.5

* 91.20% of Mercury at pH 8.5

* 99.93% of Asbestos

* 96.30% of Benzene

* 99.70% of P-Dichlorobenzene

* 99.99% of Cysts

* 85.60% of Atrazine

* 92.96% of Toxaphene

* 93.06% of 2,4-D

* 97.60% of Chlorine

* 99.30% of Turbidity

* 99.90% of Particulates (Class I)

As with all built-in refrigerator water filters, the 4396510 does not remove Fluoride.

The 4396510 cartridge is tested and certified by NSF International to meet or exceed NSF/ANSI Standards 42 & 53.

The other model cartridge (4396508) does not filter quite as much as the '10' model.

*Because HTML is not allowed in these reviews I can't show the web address.... Whirlpool 4396510P KitchenAid Quarter-Turn Cyst-Reducing Side-by-Side Refrigerator Water Filter, 2-Pack

We have a Sears Kenmore refrigerator model number 106.53582300 (made by Whirlpool) that we purchased from Sears. It has the round water filter in the base of the refrigerator that should be replaced every year. Sears sends post cards wanting to sell us a filter for $40 plus shipping. After some research we came across this one for less and it works superbly.

Highly recommended to save money over the Sears option.

This is the second batch of these refrigerator water filters I have ordered from Amazon. Any place else you buy them will charge a lot more.

However, I learned something from another review on Amazon that I'd like to pass on: My refrigerator has an indicator light system that supposedly tells when the filter should be replaced. But the indicator lights indicate only the time since they were reset, not the amount of water that has passed through the filter.

Supposedly the filter is good for 400 gallons of water. The refrigerator assumes that by the time six months have passed you will have run 400 gallons of water through the filter. Hence, six months after resetting the indicator light system, it will again show that the filter needs replacing, no matter how much (or how little) water has actually gone through the filter.

Since I use the water dispenser on the refrigerator infrequently, and since I don't use that much ice, that means I have probably been replacing the filter before it really needed to be replaced, based solely on the fact that six months had gone by since I last replaced the filter and reset the indicator lights.

Starting with this batch of filters, I will not replace a filter until the water tastes like the filter isn't doing anything. Your mileage may vary.

We always used the original filters 9010 by Kenmore that you would get at Sears. The prices have gone up to $45 per filter! At first we were leery of how another filter would fit or how the water would taste! These replacement filters went in easier and you can taste the change in the water right away! I highly recommend these filters!

I have a Kenmore side-by-side refrigerator and have used sveral brands of replacement water filters.

I have used Kenmore 46-9010

I have used WaterSentinel WSW-1

I have used Whirlpool 4396508

(the filter being rated is the newer version of the older filter above)

The Whirlpool #4396510 is the newer version and does not need to have a gallon of water run through it after installing it (even though I did flush a liter or two through it to get the air out of the system and to ensure no leaks).

What I like about this filter is the following:

1) NSF certified/tested to tests #42 and #53 (not all filters are tested at all or do not test to #53).

2) This filter claims to removes cysts (whatever they are), but again not all filters claim to remove whatever this is... so it must be a capability that this filter or the tests above meet and allow for (again, other brands do not state, so they must not)??

What I like, is that this filter is a name brand filter for $25.00/ea, tested and certfied, ships free as it meets the minimum shipping amount due to being a 2-pack (so I have year's worth of filters since I replace every 6 months as required)... and compared to the lower price of the cheaper filters available, I do not mind paying an extra $7.00/ea for the benefits mentioned above.... for me it is worth it!!!

As mentioned above, I have purchased and used various replacement filters that all seemed to work, but for the money, this filter has all the right specifications, certifications and that it is the new/updated part number to the Whirlpool filter #4396508 which does not require a gallon of water to be run through it flush out any loose carbon particles.

Buy and enjoy.

We bought the OEM at Sears for about $44 + tax, but returned it the next day when we found these here at a much better price. and ordered them. They came right away and seem to be ok. BUT--on the box where the installation instructions are there is NO reminder to take off and save the end cap from the old filter. Naturally I forgot, removed the old one and put the new one in. It did not look right, I saw what the problem was and managed to remove the new one, put on the end cap, and reinstall it. No harm, no foul, but just be careful when you install one of these. Also there was only 1 sticky to place in the refrigerator to let you know the installation/replacement dates---there should have been 2, one for each filter. - Refrigerator Water Filters - 4396508 - Water Filter For Refrigerator - Water Filter'

Computer Vacuums - compressed air, air duster

This is a great product and everything I want to say about this product is already said by other reviewers.

However, I'm making this review to inform you that the model ED500 which is listed for $43.32 is exactly the same as this model, ED500P. Both models include all the accessories so I have no idea why Amazon is listing this for $69.00. Metro Vacuum ED500P DataVac 500-Watt, .75-HP Electric Duster

I didn't know something like this existed until I found it here. I was previously using air cans.

Pros:

* POWERFUL (500 watt motor)

* Doesn't lose power like aerosols

* Doesn't get cold like aerosols

* Environmentally safe (some aerosol cans may contain dangerous ingredients)

* Feels like quality construction that will last (made of steel)

* Good placement of on/off switch

* Can turn sideways or upside down and still works great (unlike aerosols)

Cons:

* Corded (not as convenient as cordless cans of air)

* Smells when used (at least mine does - it's new so I hope it's just because it's new and over time the smell will go away)

Other:

* Made in USA

* It's so powerful I'm a bit concerned that it could damage components if not used carefully

* It doesn't suck, but it really blows (couldn't resist)

This product is amazing! it sound like a vacuum cleaner but blows ridiculous amounts of air! I'm still finding uses for it, I just dusted out the guts of my Dyson Vacuum, four computers, the dryer lint trap, all Of my A/V equipment, Monitors, all kitchen appliances, and terrorized my wife! And alas all with a single can of air! goodbye: cold hands, loss of pressure, environmentally damaging cans of air!

If your considering this product stop gawking at reviews and buy it already, trust me it rocks!

I bought this thing and have been very pleased. No more canned air to but and it really gets the job done. The 500P comes with all the attachments as well. Have two Desktops and a Laptop that need periodic cleaning. Also a PS2 & PS3. This thing is great for a lot of different applications. This was a great find.

I had to go through so many cans of air in the course of my job (Women's Computer Consulting/Repair), that this was a no brainer. I would highly recommend this to anyone that does a lot of cleaning of computers, or that takes care of maintaining computers. This unit paid for itself within one week.

This thing really blows! someone had to write that, but seriously works better than canned air and will save a lot of money. However, if you choose to use this to blow a hepa filter I recommend doing this activity outside!

I bought this product for my son as a gift. He does computer repair and was feeling guilty about using so many cans of compressed air. It works great for blowing dust out of computers, however this should be done outdoors to avoid creating a dust storm in the room. I tried it for cleaning my serger sewing machine but found the air flow to be too powerful. I remove dust from disks and around the blades frequently but prefer a gentler flow which does not disturb the threads or blow everything off my sewing table. If this device had a pressure adjustment I would buy one for myself also.

This is just to let you know where all the reviews are posted: sold by Adorama Camera at about 43 dollars, this product has 45 five star ratings. Metrovac is an amazing USA story, read the company profile at metrovacworld dot com. - New York - Computer Duster - Air Duster - Compressed Air'

To the reviewer that didn't receive any braclet connectors, I would contact the seller about that. You should have received them.

For the price these these things are great. My son loves them. I have not had any problems with leaks and they seem to be the same quality as the ones I have received at night clubs. The glow lasts a long time. I wish they came with more connectors to make balls but it's not that big a deal.

Lots of fun for the little ones :-) 100 8" Glow Stick Bracelets,mixed Colors,100bracelet/necklace Connectors,5 Pairs of Glow Glasses Connectors,1 Glow Ball/flower Kit,5 Hair Clip Barrettes

The items arrived in new condition. They keep their glow for a long time. But BEWARE of leaks! My son was playing with a pair of "glasses" that we made out of them and there was a small crack where it was bent. Some of the glow stuff leaked out and got in his eyes and he screamed in PAIN for 10 minutes as we flushed his eyes out with water! I would NOT recommend using them to make glasses, but the bracelets are fine. Just be careful to watch out for cracks.

I ordered these for my daughters graduation party. The kids had a great time...the teens used them just for sitting around and playing rock band and the little ones always love the glow in the dark things! - Decorations - Glow Bracelets - Glowsticks - Bracelets'

1 Tb External Hard Drive

I work for Computing support at Arizona State University, and I have enough technical knowledge to be certified as a TECH JUNKIE :).

I am a photographer too, so I have tons of Photos (about 160GB), Videos, Software, Movies and Documentaries. I was looking for a simple external hard drive without any backup software included, I am smart enough to do manual incremental backups with file tree structure intact (I use GOODSYNC to backup, its very simple and easy to use and free).

I have looked at many many external HDDs and narrowed down to two models "Samsung Story 1TB - very good one too" and this one (I wanted it to be cheap too - got this for $85 on [...]). I did not go with other WD models because of their annoying Backup Software.

Coming to the WD Elements 1TB: Its much smaller than I expected. It is dead silent, I had to touch it to convince myself that it was running, when I first turned it on. Its not too heavy either. The indicator light is placed at the rear, which is a very good thing (I find these LED's annoying, especially at night).

After I did the first setup, I copied 383GB of data (931GB was total space). It took about 4hr 47min, speed varied between 20MBps to 37MBps. This is pretty good speed for USB 2.0. It was just a bit warm (my old segate hard drive would be very very hot for this amount of data transfer).

I would recommend it to beginners or pros alike. I am very happy with this purchase!

UPDATE:

After about three months of heavy usage, it never gave up on me. Its still dead silent and works flawlessly. It never got even warm!!

Follow these steps to get GOODSYNC for FREE:

In the beginning GOODSYNC was free, later they made a paid version as it gained popularity..

but there is a way to get PRO version for free...

1. go to good sync website

2. signup for a trial offer and you get PRO serial for free (I signed up for eMusic trial)

3. Once you get the serial, end the subscription before the trial expires...

NOTE: The above mentioned procedure may not work anymore :(

UPDATE: 07-28-2010

I sold my WD Elements 1TB and got a 2TB one a couple of months ago(as my data is on rise all the time), couldn't be happier :)

I bought it from TigerDirect for [ ... ] and got [ ... ] cashback via [ ... ] ...awesome!! Western Digital WD Elements 1 TB USB 2.0 Desktop External Hard Drive

I bought this on sale at Fry's for $99, way below the amazon price. I wanted something simple as most hard drives these days come with their annoying built in software which cannot be deleted (like WD Essential Edition). This is a hassle free drive and is not bundled with any of the extra software which is exactly what I wanted. You simply plug it in and it works. It can easily be formatted to work with macs as well. I've been using WD hard drives for years and I own several models of the "essential" and "passport" editions. They are very reliable.

This elements hard drive has a sleek and sexy, minimalist design. It is well built overall and constructed of durable plastic. There is a slot for the USB cable, a slot for the power adapter and a tiny circular white light which blinks when it is in use (the light is not overwhelming as some hard drives can be). All three of these features are on one side/face of the hard drive (as shown in the picture), so if you have this plugged in and it is facing away from you, you won't see the light at all. This doesn't bother me but it may be a turn off for some people.

When in operation, it is very smooth and quiet compared to other WD hard drives I own. This may be due to the fact that it is closed entirely and there are no holes for ventilation as in other WD models. But this doesn't bother me because I just use this as a backup and don't need it on all of the time. This could (emphasis on "could") be an issue if you are constantly using your hard drive because it may become hot. I haven't experienced this at all, just speculating. If you are just backing up files and, say, watching a movie on your computer which is stored on the hard drive, I think you'll be fine and there won't be any heating issues.

More info here on WD's website: [...]

I purchased the 1tb Elements (WDBAAU0010HBK-NESN) for use with a Dish DVR 622.

Installation was was truly "plug and play". I simply took it out of the box, plugged it in, and it was immediately recognized by the DVR. I have since transferred about 200gb of content to/from it, and have watched content directly from the drive. So far, it is working perfectly. It automatically spins down after a few minutes of non-use, as well as when the DVR is powered off. It also spins back up automatically (less than 10 seconds) when the DVR accesses it.

One thing some people might not like: The case is designed to sit flat (as pictured), not on its side. There are four small non-skid pads on the bottom corners, but none on either side. There is no indication on the box, in the documentation, or on Western Digital's web site as to whether the drive will work properly on edge. As a general rule, WD drives are designed to operate sideways or even upside down (any X,Y,Z orientation), so this one probably will too -- but you'll need to provide your own non-skid pads.

Several similar Western Digital drives, such as the late model "My Book" series, now include a firmware-based CD-partition that is difficult to remove, and can cause compatibility issues with some devices. That partition contains backup software and utilities that are of questionable value in any case, and of absolutely no value when using the drive with a non-computer device (like the Dish DVR). The Elements -- at least at time of this review -- doesn't include any of that junk. (Note: WD does have a downloadable utility to remove the partition from the other drives, but if you don't want that junk then save yourself the time/trouble and just buy the Elements drive.)'

Pressure Washer Accessories - as seen on tv, wands

The waterjet power washer is a hose attachment that creates a jet stream of water. The idea behind it is to give the user the effect of a power washer without the cost. It does not accomplish this, but that does not mean it is not a good product.

Naturally, it can't change the water pressure coming out of a hose without adding power, so you can't really expect it to do that. What the product does is tighten the stream of water coming out of the end of the hose to artificially increase pressure, like placing your finger over part of the hose, but with greater consistency and accuracy. It does this well, but as you can figure, any cheap hose attachment typically has a "jet" function. Is the water jet more powerful than the jet function of a standard hose attachment? Maybe a little bit stronger, but not substantially.

What the product does do well is distance. The jet stream produced from this attachment is slightly stronger than the jet from a normal attachment, and travels about three times the distance. So if you are looking at cleaning the second floor windows, or rinsing something high up, then this attachment would do well. At close range, it is also sufficient for cleaning things like cars, walkways, and other stuff. The extra length means you don't need to worry about bending down if you are, for example, cleaning out a crack in the concrete in order to put in some filler. A true powerwasher may be too strong, and risk causing damage to vehicles, but the stream performed by this is safe, if it hits the skin it is not painful, although I wouldn't aim the water jet at the eyes.

So in other words, the added distance, and the convenience of not having to bend over to clean out cracks, tires, or brick walkways; make this a versatile, useful tool. It loses a star because no matter how I attach it, the thing leaks. I had to buy a rubber washer to solve this issue. It is also a bit pricey, when it offers only minor advantages to a cheap attachment available at any walmart. I would rate it 3.5, but I am giving it the benefit of the doubt. Water Jet Power Washer

It's exactly what it looks like, it's a good spray nozzle for your hose in the form of a long wand. It doesn't replace an actual gas or electric power washer, but it works great for most cleaning purposes if you have decent water pressure. I used it for cleaning our decks and it had just enough pressure to do a fairly decent cleaning job without damaging the wood (as actual power washers will tend to do). I haven't seen the infomercial, and I'm sure they probably claimed it will change your life, but if you're expectations are reasonable it's not a bad product for most purposes.

This product is not better that a regular attachment.

It spurts the water much further than a regular hose,but it is not more powerful than the attachment i brought a home depo for $5.00. Basically it is a waste of money.

For what it is, it doesn't do a bad job. You are not going to get the results you expect out of a pressure washer from something that's not a pressure washer, but it does get the job done, short of that. I got it to clean out expansion joints on my concrete patio, and it does the job. Haven't turned it on my siding yet, so we'll see what happens.

This product does not work as advertised. In fact, the commercial appears to take some liberties with it's claims. The bottom line is this product works in a fashion that is similar to holding your thumb over the end of a water hose.

However, I decided to keep it to use for washing the cars and first floor windows of my house. My thumb and fingers really appreciates it :)

In all honesty, this product is NOT worth the price. It did no more than me placing my finger over the hose to build pressure would have done. I will, however, admit that the fan tip created ease when rinsing off the car after washing it. There are cheaper products out there that would do the same thing (or for free you could just use your hand the old fashion way).

The "Water Jet 'Power Washer' As Seen On TV" is a RIP OFF. It will clean dust off your house, car, deck, etc if the dust/pollen has only been there an hour or so. But, mine cleans nothing, and I have great water pressure. "Clean out cracks, tires, brick walkway, etc" is a big NOPE. Even the youngest of weeds are too tough for this limp noodle. If there was a way to do so, I would return this immediately. A genuine, there's a sucker born everyday, RIP OFF.

I bought this to clean my pool filters. If you own a pool or hot tub, you know how expensive filters run. My two cost me $600.00 to replace. If you can spray clean them, you can extend their lives considerably. You can't use a power washer because it would rip holes in the filters, and a hose spray nozzle is too weak; and impossible to get into the inside of some filters (like my small filter). I got the one that included the gutter cleaner and wide sprayer. It's absolutely perfect for cleaning the interior and exterior of filters. Spray is stronger than a nozzle and not strong enough to damage the filter.

I found this car washing accessory a disappointment. The pressure it generated was little more than one would get from an ordinary nozzle with a classic garden hose. I also found the attachment to the hose leaked water no matter how tight I turned it; there was as much water on me as the car. If prospective purchasers expect the cleaning properties of a pressure washer, they will be disappointed.

I saw the infomercial and thought to myself, "Hmmm... there's no way this could be true, but it's pretty cheap so let me try it anyway." I should have gone with my gut. The thing is a glorified extra nozzle for the hose and nothing more. It doesn't amplify the water pressure and it doesn't concentrate the pressure coming from the hose any better than any conventional nozzle. As a matter of fact, I don't even think the pressure coming from the water is as strong as the hose itself. This was a complete and utter waste of money. - As Seen On Tv - Nozzles - Wands - Pressure Washer Accessories'

I am thirteen days into this devotional. It is excellent and I am truly inspired to stay with it and can feel an improvement in my relationship with our Father each time that I read and pray the day's devotional. I have started many devotional books over the years, but this is the only one that I will likely read all year and maybe again next year. It is truly inspired! Pearls of Great Price: 366 Daily Devotional Readings

This book puts the christian life in perspective. It is open and honest and shows that God's ways are not always our ways. Joni, has opened her heart to show how God brings good from trials and tribulations. It is an awesome devotional tool. I highly recommend it to anyone, but especially to those who have or are going through tough times.

I have been reading this devotional every day for nearly a year now. It has helped me very much. Joni is honest about her disability and the way God has worked in her life since her accident. There are stories about other people and events as well. I highly recommend it.

My name is Terry R. Tuley. I wrote the book "Battlefields and Blessings; Stories of Faith and Courage from the Civil War." My book was nominated for the Golden Medallion Award along with Joni's book "Pearls of Great Price."

I was at the World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia when her book won this prestigious award. I was blessed to even be counted as one of the finalists along with Joni in the devotional category. Joni's faith has been an inspiration to multitudes and the Lord has used her in a very special way. I cannot imagine the suffering she must have experienced learning to accept God's will for her disability. I do hope you read her book. She is very deserving of this award.

One of the most valuable books you could own. Pearls of Great Price is packed to the brim with worship, encouragement, integrity, honesty, transparency, and wisdom from someone who has had more than her share of trials. These are not bromides issued from a theological ivory tower but heartfelt pearls of experience from someone who has required monumental faith and joy just to face every day for the past 40 years. Joni's compassion and patience are combined with uncompromising faithfulness to scripture.

Don't pass this up.

Joni had once again written an excellent book to feast upon each day.

Her examples of living for Christ in difficult days are practical and so meaningful. I have enjoyed this book so much that I have ordered 4 more for gifts for friends who have considered it to be a blessing in their lives as well. I highly recommend this devotional!

We were given this book as a gift in late 2008 and my wife and I used it for daily devotionals in 2009. We found the book such a blessing to us that we purchased another copy as a gift for a friend. I highly recommend the book. Joni's devotionals are challenging, poignant and thought provoking.'

Retro Candy - retro, sour candy

These candy boxes were a BIG hit with my sons and their friend. I bought three boxes (two for my kids and one for their friend) for my son's birthday and the kids really had a blast with the candy. Lots of fun for the kids. Candy Crate Kooky Kid Crazy Candy Gift Box

I bought this for a child that is staying in the hospital long term, I wanted something that would make him laugh and be fun. Just heard back today and he LOVED it, it was FULL of candy unlike what some other reviewers have said and it had all sorts of fun and wierd kinds of candy. Will definately buy again for other children, 5 star ALL THE WAY!!

I bought one of these for each of my daughters for Christmas. They come in cute boxes. But, I wish they had more candy in them for the price I paid. I know they'll enjoy them though. A nice idea including all of these things in one gift box. My daughter's had the yucky jelly bellies before and thought they were hilarious. So, I know this gift box will go over well.

Not worth the money. The product did not have as much as picture shown. Way too much money for what you think you are getting. Sent for a present, very embarrassed when parent called and said I hope you did not pay too much for this.

This was a present for my niece and nephew who live halfway across the country. I miss them dearly and wanted to send a little something to let them know I love them. They LOVED the crazy candy, and taunted each other with the booger flavored jelly beans. It was perfect, exactly what I expected, and they loved it. My only gripe is that it really was a bit costly.

You don't get all the candy pictured. And there isn't 30 kinds of candy like the description says. It does come in the box as pictured. I was given some really hard gummi grubs and spongbob chocolate coins instead of tube of powder,dirt and worms,and the hard bugs in a jar.Not bad,but not worth the amount since I can buy all this candy in the store. - Sour Candy - Retro - Retro Candy'

Adobe Illustrator - adobe illustrator, art

The product arrived on time. The tablet does have some minor scratches that show it has been used, nothing to be worried about though. You can tell that the box has been opened before, but if this little details are not a problem to you and you could use the discount, I would recommend you to give it a go. It's really practically new and it works perfectly well. It has a 1 year warranty as well. Wacom CTH661 Sliver Bamboo Fun (Factory Refurbished)

I'd been wanting to get a Wacom tablet for some time, since most of my artist friends use them for their work, but I just wasn't able to come up with the $400 for a new Intuos. We starving artists (and there's many of us) have to come up with other legal means to get all those fancy computer tools.

So when I saw the listing for this refurbished Bamboo Fun, which is essentially an Intuos 3 with its over 1000 levels of sensitivity, at less than half the price of a new Intuos, I jumped. And I'm glad I did.

The Bamboo arrived a day early from it's scheduled time, which was a great way to start. It was unmarked, no scratches from previous ownership, and the Corel Painter Essentials 4.0 that came with it works wonderfully. It also comes with Adobe Photoshop Elements and a program I'm unfamiliar with called Nik Color Efex Pro 3.0. The latter two programs would not work on my system, because I have a Macintosh Mini that runs on the PowerPC chip, and these two programs are designed for the Intel chip. This was unfortunate, but I'm not really all that put out, since I already have a full version of Photoshop. It's something to keep in mind when ordering.

Getting the Bamboo set up was absurdly simple, and as soon as I started messing around with the pen, I started mentally screaming to myself "WHY DIDN'T I DO THIS SOONER???!!!" It is SO wonderful being able to do detail work in Photoshop and Illustrator with the dexterity of a pen or pencil instead of a big, clunky mouse that gets your hand cramped up from the muscular stress. Drawing is easy once you get used to looking at the screen instead of your sketchbook. I'm still in the process of learning what the tablet can do, but I have absolutely no regrets about buying it.

One niggling critique I do have is the small programs that come with the tablet. They're designed for kids, really, and are almost useless for working artists. It does have one program that, with a little work by Wacom, could be really wonderful. This is the Doodler, a little sketchbook drawing program, with it's own drawing interface screen. My main hassle with it is the annoying way it has of making a big blob on the page when you put the pen down anywhere. When you actually start drawing, the line quality is just fine, but when you stop, and then start a new line elsewhere, again it puts a big blob on the page. Maybe I've got the sensitivity controls too fine or something, but I haven't figured out how to make it quit doing that. If this issue could be taken care of, the program would be a lot more fun to use. But again, this is a minor issue.

For all you starving artists out there who are low on spending cash, I would heartily recommend picking up the Refurbished Bamboo Fun. It's worth the money, is plenty sensitive enough to do most of the work you'll end up doing, and if not it will at least get you started until you can get enough money scraped together for the Intuos 4 with all it's bells and whistles. Get it. Do it NOW!

We are very pleased with this product. The drawing space is especially comfortable. Don't let the fact that it is refurbished stop you. It makes an expensive product affordable for a small business or a student, and as the primary user I have found no complaints about it's performance.

I like this tablet because it is similar to my old one. I like that it's more sensitive to the stylus movements and that it has a slight texture, making it feel like paper. The only problem with that is it eats away at the stylus tip faster. I had my old tablet for about five years and only had to replace the stylus tip once. This new one seems to have to be replaced every 10-15 hours of use. This was stated in the description of the product, so I knew what I was buying. I did receive the tablet with a few scratches, but it doesn't really bother me because it's something that has to be sought after. I do miss having a mouse, but it's replaced with finger-touch.

I go to an art college and I was looking around for a good tablet while keeping within a reasonable budget. This is the second tablet I've ever bought because my first one was not pressure sensitive, and I'm very satisfied with this purchase. The description warned about possible slight scratches or dings on the tablet, but I was surprised it was in such great condition; there were hardly any noticeable scratches at all. It might be that I just lucked out on one of the better ones that came out of the factory... but honestly if you don't care about little things like that, just get the factory refurbished because it saves a lot of money.

On the tablet itself, it is obviously not as savvy or super-sensitive as the Intuos line, but it picks up pen pressure pretty well. The size may be a little on the big side (it's only about 2 inches shorter than my huge laptop), but it's pretty thin and lightweight so it's not much of a hassle to carry. The only problem I have with it is sometimes after I plug it into my laptop, it takes a while for it to "connect", or for the computer to register that it's been plugged in. I don't know if it's just a problem with my computer or with the tablet itself, but it can be a bother. The installation was also a little slow as I had to download the newest driver from the Wacom website in order to get the pen pressure function working with Photoshop.

All in all very handy, so if you're a student it works great and gets the job done without having you spend too much. - Drawing - Adobe Illustrator - Bamboo Fun - Art'

Voltage Converter - 110v, military

I purchased this to use certain small electrical devices that I brought from the UK to use in Barbados. It works exactly as I hoped/expected it to work. Very simple to use and small enough to take with me if I need to use 110v devices in 220v countries or vice versa. Power Bright VC100W Voltage Transformer 100 Watt Step Up/Down 110 Volt - 220 Volt

I am currently in the Army deployed to Afghanistan and here it is a 210v outlets. So in order to plug in my Xbox I needed a transformer that would work well in the dusty enviornment of Afghanistan. This is a great product and works well with both 110v and 210v-240v (there are settings for all voltages).

PROS

-Works great with Xbox360, PS3, and other American appliances.

-Comes with extra fuses in case you burn them out.

-There is a power switch on it so you can plug in first to double check and make sure it is in the right port (even if it isnt it will just burn out the fuse rather than blow your appliance)

-It is slotted for all different types of plus ie. european plug which are 2 prongs and iraq plugs which is 2 flat with 1 veritical plug

CONS

There is a burning smell when I use it past an hour I feel like its probably because of dust stuck inside or what not but maybe you will not have the same problem.

CONCLUSION

If you are currently serving overseas ie. Germany,Iraq,Afghanistan,Italy this is a great product to buy when you want to play your xbox360 or ps3 since they are 110v.

Just be sure to read carefully and always use proper safety procedures when operating any electronics.

I bought this item to charge some of my products that work only on 220-240V.

Pros:

- speedy delivery

- good packaging

- universal connector in the front of the unit

- option to select input voltage setting at the back of the unit

- on / off switch

- additional universal plug / socket adapter

- additional fuse in the box

Cons:

- gives out a funny smell (not a burning smell but could be the lubrication used in the unit....not sure)

Have used it only to successfully charge my items offline; have not tried to use my items whilst it is connected to this product.

As others have noted, upon opening the plastic bag the transformer is packed in, you're hit with an overpowering smell of some organic solvent.

The only reason I can think of for this is that either they had no burn-in period whatsoever and just packed the item before the chemicals had cured, or that they mixed the chemicals wrong and they'll actually never set. the latter would be more serious, as it could lead to product failure.

after 4 days in a semi-enclosed space outside, and two hours of running, I can still smell it a little. eventually it might suit my needs. It does seem to work fine.

But if you were buying this to go overseas later this week, it would be useless. Your luggage would smell like a burning plastic factory

This is an excellent machine, and at such a cheap price!

I'd originally intended to buy a simple small power converter from Radioshack, but they were 39 bucks for a crappy thing that only has 40W output and looked very flimsy. I knew there had to be a better option online, so I came to take a look here, and lo-and-behold, I found this gem of a little power converter.

The size isn't too bulky or space-taking (it sits nicely in a corner without disturbing anyone), the cord is long enough that I can have it on top of the cabinet next to my sound system, or in a shelf beneath it depending on my mood, and its power output is 100W! Far more than what I needed for my sound system, so I can use it for other things also without having to buy a more powerful machine.

It's really a great machine, and accepts both 110 volts and 220 volts without problems. For the output, you just plug your device into either of the two exit outlets it has, depending whether you need 110 or 220.

It accepts a wide variety of plugs and I was pleasantly surprised to see it comes with spare fuses and an extra plug-converter in case you need to plug it into a foreign outlet.

I also like that it has an on/off switch so that I don't have to keep unplugging it whenever it's not in use. Other converters I've had before would keep pumping power and over-heating if you didn't unplug them, while this unit has none of those problems, and works like a charm!

I'm very happy with it and will probably get a few more so that I can have some here and some for when I travel and so on.

I love it. It works perfectly with my UV lamp that I purchased in Poland (220V). The best converter ever and you cannot bid the price. I strongly recommend it. The only thing that I've found frustrating was the instructions- they do not say that you have to switch it in the back to the voltage your device needs. Maybe is obvious for some people but I didn't know that and almost returned it. - Military - 110v - Voltage Converter - 220v'

Personal Finance

This software does a good, but not great, job. My wife and I have used it for almost two years.

On the plus side: it is the only software I have found that does true envelope budgeting. The tools here are much more powerful than Quicken or Money (I have used both before switching to Money Map). The system is tremendously powerful and flexible, although it has a steep learning curve. You can't have powerful, flexible, and easy to use all at the same time.

On the minus side: it is slooooowwwww. I've used other Java programs that aren't this slow, so something else (inefficient database?) is making this program slow. I have a decently fast computer (2.4GHz dual core processor, more than 2GB of RAM, running XP) and still it's slow. Occasionally I've hit a real honest-to-goodness bug (not just user error), although they have made patches to those problems once I have reported them.

On the whole: I use it and hesitantly recommend it because I have not found any other program that does real envelope budgeting. If I ever found a real competitor for this product, I would seriously consider switching. Crown Money Map Financial Software

I have used this software for the past 5 years and LOVED it! It was a great product. Note I said, "was."

Crown no longer supports this product and it runs poorly on Windows 7. For this reason I would not recommend purchasing it now. I was surprised when looking for financial software on Amazon that this popped up first. It is now outdated and would not be a good purchase. I don't even know why they're still selling it.

As I wrote with regard to the book that came with this software ... I kept it for about 3 hours before taking it back to UPS for returning it to Amazon,com. I did not open the software or attempt to load it into my computer. After reading the material accompanying he software, I quickly realized that the product was misnomered and should be marketed with Bibles and other religious materials ... NOT FINANCIAL !!! VERY DISAPPOINTED.'
