Good Product - travel, ipad

Great portable stand. In my opinion, the item description nails it. It is very portable when folded up; can be easily tossed in a drawer or bag. It held my iPad perfectly while in its case and is sturdy enough to operate. It didn't slide around the counter tops and is adjustable for different viewing angles. It pretty much suits all of my requirements. However, my one minor complaint is that when the iPad is sitting vertically in the mount and the charging cable is plugged in, the cable interferes with the stability of the iPad. In other words, if the mount held the iPad maybe just a half-inch higher off the surface, the plug wouldn't be a problem. Horizontally is of course no problem. I personally don't find this to be an issue as I seldom have it plugged in when I'm using it anyway. Arkon Portable Fold-Up Stand for Apple iPad, Galaxy Tab, BlackBerry Play Book

This stand is great. I take it with me everywhere my iPad goes. The stand is very compact and portable. When folded, it is small enough to fit with my iPad in a 10.2" net book sleeve. The stand adjusts to every angle you could want for both portrait and landscape use. It's great when resting it on a pillow while lying in bed or for placing on a lap desk. At night, I use this on my night stand to charge the iPad while it displays my night stand app and plays my audiobook. When reading, I put the iPad in this stand and sit and read in landscape mode. When I want to lie down and read, I lock the iPad in portrait mode, put it horizontally in this stand and lie down one my side to read the book 'sideways'. In the kitchen, it it my iPad cookbook stand. I am very happy I bought this. The iPad is stable and safe in the stand. It fits great, even with a clear protective case on the iPad. The only issue I have is that the charger will not fit with this in portrait mode. The stand is too low to the ground. However, this can be remedied by turning the iPad so the charger is on top. Very happy with my purchase. Would buy again!

Pros:

1. Folds down to a size akin to that of an eyeglasses case - an ideal size for carrying and travel.

2. Very light - perfect for carrying and travel.

3. Very sturdy when used (with iPad) on a clean, hard surface. The grips on the feet of this stand keep it stationary, and the stand does not move when I poke my iPad. I also own a leatherette iPad case/stand (it holds an iPad horizontally at adjustable angles), and it tends to move a lot when I use it as a stand on a hard surface and poke my iPad. The Arkon stand doesn't move at all.

4. Elegant design suitable for casual and professional use/occasions.

5. Practical design: The screws and nuts that hold the moving parts together are user-accessible (i.e., a user could tighten if necessary), and adjustments in angle are made via a kind of ratchet system (albeit plastic). I'd expected an adjustment system dependent on friction, and was pleasantly surprised to see that the Arkon stand uses what I'm describing as a ratchet-type system, because I would expect a system that depends on friction to loosen over time much faster than I think the ratchet-type system the Arkon stand actually uses will.

Cons:

1. As other reviewers have noted, when using the stand with an iPad, if you want to position the iPad vertically with the iPad's home button on the bottom, you will not be able to have the charger cord that comes with the iPad plugged in. This is hardly a deal-breaker, as you can always have the home button/charger port at the top if you must have the iPad charger cord plugged in (for use with the A/C adapter or with USB), and if you use the stand to hold an iPad horizontally, having the charger cord plugged in will be no problem. However, if you use the stand to hold an iPad vertically with the home button on top so you can use the charging port, you will not be able to use the audio out jack, because that will be on the bottom.

There are rubbery pads on the feet of the stand, and on the parts of the stand that touch the face of the iPad or whatever unit you use the stand to hold. I assume they are held in place with glue and may eventually come loose, but I expect that should that happen, it will easy to re-glue them.

The price of this unit has been fluctuating since I discovered it in Amazon's listings (visit camelcamelcamel and enter a product name or ASIN, etc., to see a chart of the item's price history at Amazon and by third-party sellers), but even at full list price it is a fair deal considering how overpriced so many (I'd say most) accessories for the iPad (and similar products) tend to be.

If you need an iPad stand - for use at home (dining table, nightstand, coffee table, etc.), at a cafe, on a desktop at work or in a school, etc. - you can pay more than you'll pay for the Arkon, but I doubt you'll find a better combination of form and function.

Highly recommended. - Portable - Ipad - Good Product - Travel'

Swimming Fins

I'm 31yo sort of a semi-pro swimmer and have already tried lot's of different stuff to improve the swim.

I've tried Zoomers, Speedo, Tyr and brazilian brands called Kpaloa and Hammerhead (wich offers the same products of Speedo). They all seemed ok with only minor differences such as size, shape and weight...

Anyway, my first impression of Alphafins was that is was incredibly light and looks cool. The EVA material seems a bit weak and the strap doesn't inspire that much trust. (I must say that I'm not looking for anything "cool". I want it to work!)

After a month using it I can say that I didn't like that much "lightness". It floats too much so it's hard to kick correctly and the feet seems to stay too much on the surface of the water, losing effect and propulsion.

The strap is holding till now. But everytime I put them on I take a LOT of care...

It feels true to size. I bought the Medium and my shoe size is 9 so it fits ok. But there's a issue here. The EVA foam isn't that flexible so due to the intense movement it kind of folds the bottom... Don't know if it's meant to be that way or not...

Also due to the material, I'm taking extra care when doing turns because it feels too fragile to handle sprints turns

Well that's my opinion about it. I'm not sure I would buy it again. I'm hoping it lasts longer than it seems :-\ Aqua Sphere Alphafin Eva Foam Fin (Size- 10-11)

These fins have allowed me to add some interesting challenges to my swim. The foam material has workout pros and cons. Main pro: increased sensory input plus surface position makes me more aware of my knee extension during flutter kick. Main con: also during (prone) flutter kick, the fins tend to keep my feet level on the surface, thus decreasing long-axis rotation. All in all, I'm glad I purchased these and am enjoying the added variety.

These aquafins are the best ever: lightweight so that they don't bother your knees when you dolfin kick and easy to carry around; much better than zoomers too. I love them, don't have a bad word to say about them.'

Disc Sleeves - protection, cd envelopes

The price on these CD/DVD Paper Sleeves was really good and since this is one of those purchases that I don't use frequently, I went for the cheap price! The paper sleeve is more flimsy than some that are manufactured, but they do the job and that is what counts! Rated four stars only because the paper is so thin. Americopy 100 Paper CD Sleeves with Window & Flap

The paper is very thin and the windows become detached if you aren't VERY careful with them. It appears that the window is not even attached on most of the sleeves. You have to make sure the CD or DVD goes on the inside of the window. I purchased 5 packages and they all have this issue. Disappointed is an understatement.

These are unlike the old-fashioned all paper sleeves, these are paper but they also have a plastic WINDOW that allows one to see which CD they have inside the sleeve! No more pulling the CD in and out in order to see what's on the CD inside. No more having to write on the old fashioned paper sleeves making them unusable for future use with a different CDs. No more having to keep the same sleeve with the same CD. No, with the invention of this sleeve with A WINDOW, a new day has dawned with the organization of your CDs when trying to keep them scratch-free!

I am rather surprised by all the reviews here that are knocking this product particularly calling the sleeves flimsy. I don't know what these buyers were looking for when making this purchase. These cd paper sleeves with window are great and work perfectly. To review them is simple for me as well as giving them the highest grade possible.

I had well over 200 dvds of computer work, data, burned files and home movies etc. I gave these a shot and purchased 1 set of 100. They are in no way flimsy. The paper is as described - quality paper and the plastic window is securely in place . If it was flimsy I would expect the plastic window to fall off easily. For myself I use each sleeve for 1 dvd. It saves huge space and makes storage much easier than how it was with the slim disc cd cases I was using before. When I give dvd copies to friends I put up to 2 dvds in a sleeve and they still are perfect and don't tear or anything. I believe 3 or more might tear at the paper but I would never put that many in 1 sleeve thus taking the chance of scratching the discs.

I love these sleeves and find them to be of excellent quality - exactly as described. I highly recommend them but must add that the buyer must be sure to use them as intended. I went and bought another 200 and have not found 1 faulty one out of the 300 I have purchased thus far. Highly recommend. A great product that does its job well.

These envelopes are thinner and less well made than the vast majority of similar envelopes that CD's & DVD's often arrive in, based on my past experiences, but they do the job adequately. The do cost only about half of what the ones sold at Staples, etc. regularly do, so I guess there is some value here. - Cd Holders - Cd Envelopes - Protection - Disc Sleeves'

Earbuds - headphones, jlab

These were my fourth pair of earbuds and the most impressive I've owned. The wiring and connections are solid and reinforced. I've replaced earbuds when the wiring breaks or the sound volume becomes unequal.

I'm hard on earbuds. My workday starts late in the morning and lasts until late in the evening. I need to still be asleep when the gardeners come with their leaf blowers and weed whackers. Earbuds serve a dual purpose: they keep sound out and give me pleasant sounds to sleep by. Being a bit of an insomniac, my MP3 player helps me to fall asleep each night as well. This is tough on earphones.

I'm impressed with the construction of these buds. Stress points are well reinforced and unlikely to fail. But ruggedness isn't the primary reason for buying phones ... sound quality is.

These are second to none when it comes to sound quality. Bass is solid with no distortion. The midrange and highs are crisp and clear. I've listened to everything from hip-hop to classical and they have provided a superior listening experience.

The worst feature of these phones is that they have a straight plug into the media player instead of an angled plug. This makes it easier to accidently unplug the phones. At worst, a minor drawback. Also, the barrel of the buds is a bid longer than others. At first I thought this would be a problem with lying on a pillow, but it hasn't disturbed me at all.

These utterly dominate all the other earbuds I've owned, both in terms of construction quality and in terms of sound. Buy a pair with confidence - you can't go wrong. JBuds J2 Premium Hi-Fi Noise-Isolating Earbuds (Black/Electric Blue)

I bought some earphones not too long ago from Radio Shack. They were the kind you press into the ear. They were awful. The sound was bad and they wouldn't stay in the ear at all.

The jbud j2 are also a kind that you press into the ear (stay in pretty well you you give them a small twist when inserting instead of just pushing them in.) It made me a little nervous, but the price wasn't bad and the reviews were all good, so, I decided to go ahead with the purchase. Amazon got them to me in less than a week and packaged them well.

The sound quality is very good. Some of my classic piano concertos just come to life with these.

The dynamic range may be a little too good. I like to listen to music before I go to bed and I would use the Samsung earphones that came with my player, and by the way they are very good for being the included earphones. Since it's right before bedtime, I'll turn my player's volume down to 2 or 3 (out of 30). The J2s when turned down that low on volume, the higher frequencies I can't hear like I could with the "cheap" earphones. Perhaps it's my hearing. This really isn't a complaint because when I turn the volume up to say 10, It (J2s) sounds fantastic.

The construction seems pretty good, but only time will tell for sure.

The noise canceling part of the earphones also works very well, if that's what you like. The Samsung earphones you could hear other people talking just fine and still listen to the music. J2's you cannot. That can be good or bad depending on the situation.

I may get another set for my son.

They are good,

Bryce

So I've ordered the Jbuds J-2 in Lambo Yellow on the day before Thanksgiving, and I got them earlier this past week. I've also tried three other sets of noise-isolating earbuds, namely the Creative EP-630 In-Ear Headphones, the V-MODA Bass Freq Earbuds - Bling Bling Black, and the JVC HAFX33A Marshmallow In-Ear Stereo Headphones (Blue). I'm trying to find a good set of noise-isolating earphones to use on a day-long bus trip I'm taking next month, and have tested them while studying in a laundromat (lots of noisy washers and dryers; my laundromat has study tables and wi-fi). Overall, I have liked the Jbuds J2 the best; here's my opinion on all four:

--The JVC Marshmallows had the worst sound quality of all four. They didn't sound very realistic, they were very tinny. I threw them out.

--The Creative earbuds produced very good sound quality, BUT the cord microphonics were too much (the cord was very rubbery, and you could hear it even with the slightest bump, so it was useless to walk with). I'm giving them away to someone else.

--The V-Moda earbuds also have very good sound quality, very little cord microphonics, and may very well have the best noise-isolation of all four; however, I felt they may have been a bit TOO bassy. This gives me somewhat of a headache when listening to something like Star People, so I don't use it for normal listening. But it may be the best option for the bus or laundromat.

--Overall, the Jbuds J2 have virtually no cord microphonics, and very good noise isolation (though slightly less than the V-Moda). Not too much bass, very balanced and the most realistic sound of all four that I've tried. They attenuate noise very well, but the V-Modas are very slightly better at that (which is why I'm giving these 4 stars instead of five).

So overall, if you like lots of bass, go with V-Moda; if you like the best balanced sound quality, go with these. But overall, I think that these are the best all-around. - Headphones - Jlab - Earphones - Jbuds'

Dvi To Hdmi - hdmi to dvi

Many Windows based notebooks are now equipped with VGA & HDMI ports, but no DVI port. Many external monitors are equipped with VGA & DVI ports, but no HDMI port. While the analog VGA connection works, a digital connection works better. As it happens DVI is simply a subset of the HDMI standard.

This cable works great for making digital connections from a notebook with a HDMI port to an external monitor with a DVI port. AmazonBasics HDMI to DVI Adapter Cable (9.8 Feet / 3.0 Meters)

I use to connect my PC to the TV and the length is excellent, the field is strong, however, should suggest buying "Belkin Audio Y Cable Splitter 1-Mini Plug/2-RCA Plugs (6ft)" with this, because DVI does not transmit sound only video, but in general is just what the doctor recommended me

I use this cord to attach a Blu Ray player to my 6 year old Toshiba projection TV (720p) which does not have HDMI ports. The picture is very good and the length of the cord allows me to run it through the top of the etertainment center, down the back, and then into the TV.

Pricing these from other big box stores found this to be about 1/3 of the price. Those store will tell you that their product is better, lasts longer, not as much heat, blah, blah. Well...

1) I see no difference in picture quality between this and more expensive brand names.

2) Heat? Off an HDMI>DVI cable. Ummmm, I have no idea what the Best Buy guy was talking about.

3) I can buy this one 3 times and still spend less money.

This is the best bet all around

Purchased this cable to connect a PC (DVI out) to a 1080p flat panel (HDMI in) to use the flat panel as a monitor and to watch movies from the PC (including Blu Ray). No complaint with the image quality at all, but keep in mind that this kind of setup requires separate cable(s) for sound. This cable meets/exceeds the requirements for my setup, so I recommend this cable without reservation. Don't let the low price concern you, as the quality is just fine. Seems like a major waste of money to buy a big brand name cable that would do the same thing at SEVERAL times the price. I have purchased a few of those high-end, high-price cables previously and they are very good, but I can't discern a difference in the image quality.

Very good cable at a reasonable price, the electronics places around here want about 30 bucks for a cable, under 8 bucks is a great deal. Im happy to see Amazon offer a house brand cable that is very well made and well priced.

I connect my desktop to my Samsung PX2370 with this cable. I run at 1920x1080 without any noticible problems, even while gaming on the monitor's "fastest response" setting.

It's just a cable, but I give 5 stars b/c of the price combined with the fact that it works.

Here is sort of a nit-pick though:

I'm not what you'd call a full-on, eco-hippie-conservationist-tree-hugger; I have those tendencies, but I think I'm practical about it. But, I gotta say, IMHO, this item was WAY, WAY, WAY over-packaged. Both Amazon cables I ordered at the same time (another was a straight 6' HDMI cable) came in separate, very beefy 9"x8"x2" carboard boxes INSIDE a bigger cardboard box.

Seriously? For 2 cables? With all the customers Amazon has, I can't imagine the level of paper waste this creates.

Just sayin' ;)

I have a Sony Bravia HDTV that has a "vivid" option that makes the picture crisp and vibrant for various input sources. However, this feature is disabled when the input is DVI(PC)to VGA(TV). So, if you are in the same boat this cable will fix this issue. Also, if you have VGA instead of DVI output on your PC, there's another cable just like this one that has "VGA to HDMI" on Amazon. Hope this helps someone.

My TV has a problem interfacing with my Xbox360 through the HDMI port and I have been unable to figure out any kind of solution. My tech support experience made me decide to consider other options, like the fact the TV also has a DVI input. I bought this with the understanding that the DVI input = HDMI - without the sound. I figured that even if the cable didn't work (or my TV was still uncooperative) that the cable is reasonably priced and I'd still be able to use it with my LCD monitor. The picture quality is great and, though its hard to tell, I think I might notice a slight improvement with this setup relative to the component cables, but it's hard to say for sure. I also used this cable to hook up the 360 to a computer monitor with similar results.

I see that others have mentioned this issue, but it bears repeating. There is no optical output on the actual Xbox360 and with the HDMI cable plugged in you won't be able to fit the component cable into the Xbox360's AV output slot which is positioned adjacent to the HDMI output. I bought an elite model and it came with a slimmer audio only output connector (has red/white output and the optical port) that will attach with the HDMI cable plugged in.

Back Pain Relief - back pain, neck pain

I did quite a bit of research on inversion tables in this price range. I chose this one because it has a solid back, molded ankle holders, and it folds up. So, I made the purchase and crossed my fingers. Now that I have been using it for a few weeks I am certain that I made the best choice. It was not hard to assemble like many other reviews who bought other brands have mentioned. The solid back is very comfortable, and I use the lumbar pillow for added comfort. It does not fold up very much, and is not easy to move on carpet, but that is a matter of friction and has nothing to do with this well made machine. It is a very solid device, and I have no worries of malfunction or getting hurt. The recommendations for use that comes with the manual are conservative and make sense. The molded ankle holders are very comfortable. Many reviewers of other tables talk about the discomfort of the rollers, and the need to wear boots or to buy additional gravity boots to use in place of the rollers. Not the case here. In fact, I often use it without shoes, and I find that I don't have to tighten the ankle holders to a point of discomfort. The release is very easy to opperate as well. I can't think of one complaint, and I highly recommend this product, Ironman Gravity 4000 Inversion Table

I ordered two of these initially, one for myself and one as a gift. The first one became mine and it works great!

Here is my product review, but please read the rest for important information about the company (*at the time of this review September 2009)

PROS:

-Easy to install(took about 30 minutes)

-Easy to use. Leg locks are comfortable and were a selling point to me over the other types of leg holders on different inversion tables. I don't feel like I am going to fall at all, and the table itself is very heavy and sturdy.

-The price is good compared to other tables. I have found that on some other brands they have the other style leg holders and people wind up spending another $100 on gravity boots that hold your legs the way that this one does right away.

-My back feels awesome! .. it's like not having legs for 10 minutes. The feeling carries on afterwards too, so it isn't just a quick fix. I go on this before bed, or if I have a stiff back and it goes right away.

CONS:

-It's heavy.

-It's big when folded up, so at best it will be leaning against a wall versus under a bed

-Good luck moving it someplace by yourself, even if it is folded up. The table swings

-The one I bought for my friend arrived damaged .. the button that you press to release and lock your legs into place was broken inside the box when it arrived. I ordered a replacement and guess what .. THE REPLACEMENT ARRIVED WITH THE SAME PART DAMAGED! It looks like it is due to the placement of the part when they packaged it and I am sure the delivery men aren't kind to it since it is big and heavy and awkward. I have opted not to chance this again and am getting a refund on that one and keeping the other because it isn't worth the hauling the huge thing back and forth and waiting for replacements again that may or may not be broken and also for the reason listed below.

**As of this writing, the manufacturer of the product is bankrupt and the warranty on my BRAND NEW inversion table is VOID. Another company bought out the name, but they are not supporting these products. Again this is as of September 2009 .. .. do your own research regarding this situation prior to purchasing because I cannot post particulars in the review section, but currently I personally don't have a warranty on the product I just purchased**

This is the first review I have ever written! I was diagnosed with a bulging disk L5 and had all the symptoms for 8 months. I've had 2 epidural injections and tried the chiropractor to no avail. The shots do help for a while. After the symptoms returned...sitting for a while causes great pain when I try to stand and walk, some pain down my legs, I decided to give one of these a try. Boy does it help. After getting on the table for a couple minutes several times a day for 3 days, I was able to play soccer 3 days later.

The Ironman is a quality product, well constructed, with easy assembly directions. Took me about 30 minutes, straight-forward. Ankle pads are durable and comfortable. Absolutely no complaints here.

Ironman Gravity 4000 Inversion Table

Easy to assemble, excellent quality. The ankle cuffs hold you in much better than a roller would.

The only drawback for me is to fold it up you must disassemble the table and boom from the frame. Even that is not too much as you only remove two screws.

Is helping my posture and some pain relief. My back problems are extensive so it is too early to rate the overall benefits.

I highly reccommend this product!

6-15-08 UPDATE: Beneficial in lowering my pain levels. My posture has significantly improved. I may not need ablation surgery due to the benefits of this equipment. - Back Pain - Neck Pain - Back Pain Relief - Inversion Equipment'

Kindle Accessory - cable, usb

I bought this to charge my Motorola Droid (A855), and it works perfectly. I attached it to the original wall-plug-to-USB adapter that came with the phone and it's compatible with that too. If you already have lots of Mini-USB cables, you can buy this Mini to Micro adapter that has also worked to charge my Droid OEM Motorola MicroUSB USB EMU MU Adapter for RAZR2 V8 V9 V9m Q9h model SKN6252. USB 2.0 A Male to Micro USB Male Cable (6 Feet)

I wanted a second USB cable for my new Kindle DX, a cable I would keep in the office for use in transferring the business documents I bought the Kindle to hold. I looked for the cheapest USB A-to-Micro-B cable I could find on Amazon. This is it.

I wanted it mainly for transfer, not charging; some USB cables do not include the charging component, I have read, and I figured that, being so low priced, this one might not. So when I got this, and connected for the first time, and saw that it does the charging too, I was even more pleased.

[...]

A simple, low priced, does-it-all cable. Perfect deal for Kindle 2 and Kindle DX users looking for an additional or replacement USB cable.

I bought this cable to replace the stock cable that comes with the HTC Evo 4G because the stock cable is not long enough to reach my night stand from the nearest outlet. I have always used my cell phones as my alarm clock, so I was disapointed to find out the stock cable was not long enough. Not a huge deal, since I like to have spare cables around the house anyway. I'm not exactly sure why this cable does not charge the Evo. It fits good, the charge light comes on, but after a night of sleep, the phone has no more power than it did when I went to bed. Is it because the cable is too long? Or is it just cheaply made? I dont know. Just dont buy it for an HTC Evo 4G.

I was encouraged to buy this cable based on the numerous positive reviews. I was excited about a longer cord!

Unfortunately purchasing this product has been a decision I regret.

My phone (HTC EVO 4G) will not charge using this cable (either plugged into a computer USB port or a USB port of a wall charger). The cable that comes with my phone will charge it from completely empty to full in approximately 3 hours. I had this cable plugged into my phone at 80% (the charging light on my phone indicated it was charging)for 6 hours and it decreased to 40%. Out of nowhere my phone shut off and would not start until I plugged it into a different cable. When the phone finally restarted, I checked my app that tracks battery life (Battery Graph) and somehow at the 6 hour mark of being plugged into this cable, the battery level had shot down to zero from 40% in just one minute.

Now I'm pretty bummed and in hopes that this cable didn't permanently damage my phone.

This cable works great with my Motorola Droid. Length is exactly 6 feet. I wonder if some of the people complaining about the length bought their cable from a different seller? Mine is from "CiTi Electronics".

The cable is not as thin and flimsy as the dollar cables on e-bay. The thicker cable adds a little bulk, but I expect it will be more durable and less prone to electrical interference. For the price, I could not have expected any more from this cable. Even the shipping was cheap. I bought 3 cables for less than ten dollars shipped.

This is a generic 'Type A to Micro B' USB cable. It will work with third generation Kindles (possibly with second gens too but I don't have one to verify), Blackberries such as Bold or Storm, many of the newer phones and other gadgets. I needed one of these to connect one camera to the computer because I lost the original when someone 'found' my camera case. It works.

On this specific cable, it is USB 2.0 certified, meaning that it supports data transfer rates of up to 480 Mbps and, if your device accepts a standard Micro-B plug, this is the one to get. Maybe the 2-meter length (6+ ft.) is a little too long but it does not bother me a lot and there may come a time when a cable this long may come in handy.

I am awarding this item 5 stars mostly for the low price. It's low enough to make it easy for anyone concerned about quality to buy two.

______________________________________________

Notes:

Anyone in the market for a USB cable should be very careful because there are at least 6 kinds of USB connectors. If you are buying a cable that connects 'something' to your computer or laptop, the computer end of the cable will always be a USB-A or 'Type A' connector. At the other end, you may have a USB-B/Type B - a nearly square shaped connector used mostly to deliver power to a device but this is rare. Most likely, you will have a Mini-B or a Micro-B. The difference between the 2 is that the Micro-B is half as thick while the width is the same - Mini-B is 3x7mm while Micro-B is 1.5x7mm.

If your device (phone, PDA, camera) is a later model (post 2009-10) and it's using USB, chances are that they will need a Micro-B connector because the industry seems to be adopting the 'Micro' form factor as its standard. If the above sounds simple, you should keep in mind that some devices require Mini-AB or Micro-AB connectors, also known as USB OTG (OnTheGo) devices.

My advice: before ordering any cable, make sure that you clearly understand what type of cable you need. Whenever in doubt, do some more research, beginning with the product's manual. - Motorola Droid - Droid - Cable - Usb'

Video Sureillance System - video sureillance system, wireless camera

I actually bought this from another retailer (sorry Amazon, I love you!) and I'm VERY pleased with the performance of this camera. I actually have mounted mine outside the house using the (included) aluminum mounting bracket. Please note that this camera is NOT waterproof therefore I have it mounted under the eaves where it will not get wet. While not specifically marketed as an outdoor camera, I'm happy to report it working extremely well in that capacity. The operating temperature is rated only for 14 - 120 degrees so when the bitter winds of winter begin to blow I will have to take the camera down for a few months :-( As others have stated, the picture quality is PERFECT (all digital using Frequency-Hopping Spread Spectrum). The camera will automatically switch to a very powerful infrared illuminator at dusk and it lights up the whole entry way of my house (about a 30 ft wide swath). The only annoyance is that Uniden didn't think to put a switch to turn the I/R illuminator OFF which would come in really handy if you wanted to mount the camera indoors looking out through a pane of glass. In this case the I/R illuminator reflects off the glass immediately in front of the camera rendering the image useless so either plan to use this camera OUTDOORS or INDOORS but not INDOORS LOOKING OUTDOORS. Inside the home the I/R illumination is ridiculously bright and fills the entire room with invisible light which only the camera can pick up. The camera also has the ability to auto-cycle between up to 4 cameras at pre-set intervals of time (5/10/15/20 seconds) and has the ability to watch all 4 cameras at once in QUAD mode. I haven't tried the included PC software that records all of this but other users seem to be happy with this function. The range is good, it will penetrate my home about 120' but struggles a bit when the signal comes from outdoors to my basement. Both the camera and the monitor use Lithium-Ion batteries so the recharge time is quick and they last for hours (there are included power adaptors for both camera and monitor included). Overall Uniden did an EXCELLENT job with this packaged system and I've been very happy with it - highly recommended! Uniden UDW10003 Wireless Video Survillance Portable Security System (Black)

I was looking for a video monitoring system for use as a baby monitor. I tried a few devices like the Summer Infant Day and Night analog Video monitor. These were terrible...constant static, poor picture, and not secure at all. Your neighbors can eaves drop on your signal.

This Uniden was quite nice: Very clear Digital picture, secure with its digital frequency hopping and very easy to set up...you basically plug it in and turn it on.

PROS:

* Actually can continuously monitor your child constantly and not limited to the sound trigger only mode that most other baby monitors have. This sound trigger only mode only sends video and audio to the receiver when there is a sound picked up by the camera. While other digital monitoring systems offers only this mode, the Uniden does not offer it at all, which is kind of a negative.

* great picture on the receiver...good color pic during the day and excellent night vision black and white pic.Absolutely NO static or interference.

* Both the camera and the receiver has rechargeable LiON batteries that runs 4 to 5 hours!! great for moving around from room to room...very convenient without having to drag an AC plug everywhere. \

* Comes with good wall mount bracket which allows you to also use it as a desktop stand for the camera in case you dont want to screw it to a ceiling or wall. You can adjust the angle with this bracket.

CONS:

* The volume on the receiver is set to max but is is soooo low. its ok at night when you are sleeping but you will not be able to hear if you have the TV cranked up.

* Interferes with my WiFi Router big time. When I have the camera and receiver on, my wireless download speed drops by 90%!!!! This is ok for now since I use this only at night when I'm not on my wireless network.

* It has a motion detector in the camera but can only be used with the lap top recording feature. it would be nice to have it so that it can trigger an alarm on the receiver or even turn the receiver video screen on only when motion is detected...but no such luck there.

* Does not have a feature like most baby monitors where the receiver is only activated when there is sound detected (I actually do not like this feature but good to have this option if needed). This unit only has a AUTO setting on the receiver which turns off the video after a timer. However the audio still continues which is good in baby monitoring cases.

* This is terrible. If you turn off the camera, the receiver only shows a display "no signal" on the screen...no audible alarm!! this is useless if you are sleeping and somehow you lose connection to your camera...you will never know unless you look at the screen. During this time...who knows what is going on with your baby!!

* Uniden tech support is terrible. When you call in, you are taken to a maze of options that do everything to keep you from a live person. I selected an option which was not even related to my product just to get a live person (after 3 attempts). Finally I got someone who was clueless of even the most basic product features. They did not even have an option for this product in the phone menus. I was told that a senior tech support rep would call back in 30 minutes...still no call back. - Security Monitors - Wireless Camera - Video Sureillance System - Baby Video Monitor'

Inkjet Cartridges - ink cartridge, 74xl

I had an HP 3320 before buying my new HP Photosmart 4480 and the ink for both printers lasted a long time and are of very good quality. The Vivera inks are great quality for photos and time will tell how long the photos actually last. HP 74/75 Ink Cartridge, Combo Pack in Retail Packaging

In late November I bought a new HP printer from Amazon.com. At the same time I ordered two HP 74/75 Inkjet Combo Packs and am happy to report I am very pleased with the quality of the cartridges. When I need more cartridges I will order the same ones.

Company promptly shipped the order but only included the cartridges. This became more of an issue because they also sent along an HP manufacturers rebate form, but this form requires the original UPC from the box that was not included.

My second order -- service has been prompt and products are new. Packaging might not be as expected: instead of combo packs, I received 2 black cartridges, boxed separately, and 2 color cartridges, only in their foil bags. As far as I'm concerned, the less packaging, the better. They are NOT refurbished items, they are new and work well. I'll continue to buy from this company.

HP 74/75 Inkjet Print Cartridge Combo Pack (CC659FN)

The ink cartridges came in record time. They are authentic HP cartridges and work fine. I have not had a bad purchase or delayed delivery with Amazon. I am quite satisfied with the product and the quick delivery through Amazon. Thank you!

Saves me a trip to Staples, where I usually spend more money than I want to. There's not much I can say about the merchandise itself; it's real HP ink in the right cartridges, and it keeps my printer happy, which keeps me happy. Right price, fast delivery. - 74xl - Ink Cartridge - Hewlett-packard - 75xl'

Wired Headsets - earphones, earbuds

Note: Used with the Iphone 3GS. I really wanted to like these headphones (see below). However, after a week of regular use, they literally fell apart in my hand. Their appears to be a manufacturing defect in how the two molded pieces of plactic are bound together at the earpiece (I took a picture to upload with this review but I cannot find an option to upload). I would send them back for a refund, but I discarded the packaging.

The reason I really wanted to like the headphones is that the sound was simply incredible, even compared against headphones in the $20.00 range. Since I am not an audiophile, I cannot provide technical comment on the acoustics.

Until the headphones fell apart, they performed extremely well. They fit in the ear perfectly and were weighted in a manner that helped retain the position of the earpiece in the ear. When used with the phone to make and receive calls, the sound was fantastic and I actually felt as if the person I was listening to was right next to me. Everyone I spoke to using these headphones reported that I sounded crystal clear.

If you do decide to buy these headphones to try out, KEEP THE PACKAGING for 30 days in case they fall apart. It is possible I was simply unlucky. NoiseHush NX50 3.5mm Stereo Headset w/ Enhanced Bass - iPhone / BlackBerry / HTC / LG / Motorola / Nokia / Palm / Samsung - White

I paid eight dollars for this headset expecting so-so sound. Very surprisingly, it delivers sound at all levels way exceeding my expectations. I use it with my Motorola Droid X along with a free app called MixZing to customize the equalizer. WOW! The bass is heavy and accurate, the treble is clear and sharp. The gel caps on both ends are comfortable in my ears. I cannot believe an eight-dollar headset can deliver so well.

To make outgoing calls and receive incoming calls, they all sound loud and clear, and I sound loud and clear to them as well.

This headset is a hidden gem. I highly recommend it.

I bought them for use with a Google Nexus One (HTC), because the price was right and I lost the original Nexus One headset.

So far, so good. The headset is compatible with the Nexus One, the microphone has a button that will start/stop the music player and works with MixZing and Audible and the Act 1 video player. The bass is notably better than my previous $3 replacement headsets. But I'm probably the wrong person to ask about what good sound is.

Just tested these out and they DO have great sound (much better than any headset I have purchased under $20. The microphone sound seems to be ok as well.

The design is very unique in that there is a part that goes into the inner ear (hard to tell from the photo. It looks goofy, but it actually creates a very comfortable fit.

Based on the other reviews, I fully intend that these will break soon and I will have to superglue them back together, but I guess that is to be expected for anything under $10 coming from China.

The only thing that i am disappointed about is that there are no volume controls on the unit (like the OEM pair that comes with the iphone). It has a button to answer/send calls (which also lets you change the song when listening to music) but you can only change the volume on the device itself.

I haven't tried to use these while exercising as that is how all of my other ones broke.

All in all... pretty good buy for the price.

I purchased these with the impression that they'd be an acceptable replacement for my iPhone earphones. To my surprise and disappointment they were not. The noise reduction feature while nice, gave a rather weird sound to the music. The bass was a little off, and after a week of use, pieces began falling off! Not as advertised at all. If your looking for a suitable replacement look somewhere else.

Use these headphones daily. Decent sound quality. Base is very noticeable compared to other headphones I've had. I have had both of the ear pieces come apart on my. However, it was easy to fix with a drop of super glue each time and they've been working fine ever since. Decent for the price, which is more than reasonable. If the manufacturer would use a little stronger glue, these would be very good headphones... - Earphones - Wired Headsets - Earbuds - Blackberry'

Cork Bulletin Board - bulletin boards, board dudes

I've been wanting this bulletin board for a while. It's so cute hanging next to my desk. Super easy to hang (has two bear claws on the back) and it comes with it's own plain black mini magnets and silver thumbtacks. Umbra Magnetic Pushpin Bulletin Board

This is one of the classiest bulletin boards I have ever seen. The size is just right for me, and it works equally well with either pushpins or magnets. The little mightie magnets are fantastic with it. The perfect product for getting the small clutter off my desk and having it where I can find it.

This looks really cool in my home office so much so that I bought 2 of them

Even with the additional expense of 2 it was less expensive then what I was going to buy from a high end catalog that was

Even going to charge separately for the push pins

This came with really cool magnets (more than you need)

AND push pins. I wondered how that would work

But the metal frame covers the cloth portion but you can't

See it. Ingenuise

I wanted a funky bulletin board for my office, something that looked good in the room yet was functional. This fit the bill. Plus it is fun to use both the magnets that came in the package and my own magnets. Simple to hand on wall. Highly recommended.

This magnetic board looks great in my office. Cork is so traditional, I wanted something that would jive with my home office style and hold all my random paper junk. The great thing is that you can use magnets or push pins (included). Love it!

I was looking for a thick cork bulletin board when I ran across the Umbra Magnet Pushpin Bulletin Board and decided it had everything I was looking for. I am very happy I did. I use it in my home office. It is not only attractive but functional. The small magnets hold lots of weight and the pushpins are easy to insert into the holes and stay. I store the extra magnets and pushpins on top and sides of the board to use when needed. I highly recommend it.

I was originally looking for a corkboard to hang jewelry on but when I came across this I fell in love. Now, I can use both push pin hooks and magnetic ones! I use

[...] Homz Magnetic Hooks, which are super strong, to hold heavier necklaces and [...]

A&W J-Hook Push Pins, which have a lovely retro look, to hold lighter necklaces. I was worried how all the hardware might look on the board but I love it, and in my opinion it looks much better than a standard old cork board - it's very sleek and modern looking, I love it!

I am so happy that I bought this! I was also pleasantly surprised that it came with push pins and magnets. It is very modern looking and matches very well with my apartment! I was hesitant at first but I am very pleased. I would def recommend this product. - Board Dudes - Magnetic - Bulletin Boards - Display Board'

Kids Headphones - childrens earphones, earphones

Fantastic product for kids. The sizing was perfect for my 3 year old. We purchased this to help keep him entertained on our Hong Kong trip. 13 hours on a plane is a long time. The earphones cover the entire ear and seemd to be very comfortable. They seemed fairly sturdy and survived multiple trips in my backpack which was stuffed with over things. Califone 2810-TI Kids Stereo and PC Headphones, Tiger Design

I got these for my very petite 2-1/2 year old to use w/ a portable DVD on a plane. They fit her well enough with plenty of room to grow (the ear cups slide on the headband to expand some), and I think the animal faces helped her to accept them. Sometimes she just let them hang around her neck, but at least that kept the sound of her movies from traveling too far from us. Sound quality is adequate for this age. They did not, for some reason, work well with SOME armrest audio on the planes. It did fine on a newer plane (with headrest video screens), but, as I read in another review of a similar product, it seemed to amplify cabin/plane noise on an older plane that just had the audio options. That probably has more to do with the plane than these headphones. The only problem I had with them was packing them. They do not collapse, fold, or twist, so they take up a bit of space (and you don't want to crush them). In the "relaxed" state, they form a roughly 6" circle, and the tiger's face/ear cups are about 2-1/2" wide. I would recommend these and would probably buy them again, as there are not many options out there for very small children.

These are cute, and the perfect size for my almost 2-yo. the sound is not too much- you can adjust the volume on your DVD player/computer as well as an additional volume control on the headset (well, on the cord portion).

it did take some getting used to for the kiddo, so i suggest "practicing" at home before the trip. it worked for us!

The headphones are not fabulous in stereo, but what can you expect for $13? They are great for what we need them for--traveling with a portable DVD player. A small adult can even use them. They fit me!

Works very well with young kids. I purchased this headset for my 4 year old daughter for her Apple ipod shuffle and it works wonderful. It has a volume control button and it is comfortable for her to wear and listen to her music.

I love this product because I haven't seen anything else like it really. My daughter is 18 months and loves music. She listens with these on and even watches TV shows in them sometimes. I only gave them 4 stars because I was hoping they would be a little more comfortable. She will wear them for about a half an hour, but then she starts taking them off and just watches her video with no sound. I have a small head and I can wear these too, (it's hard to find headphones that fit me) and they are comfortable for a while and then they start to bother my ears. Still worth the money. Cute too.

I was so excited to find these for my two toddlers and ordered them for Christmas. When we finally got around to opening these and using them, not too happy. The plug would not stay inserted in my boys leapsters. Now mind you I purchased two of these and neither of them would stay plugged in. I even tried plugging these into different electronics and the same thing happened. My boys were very frustrated. Although these are cute, very disappointed that they would not stay plugged in. Will be returning these. - Childrens Earphones - Kids Headphones - Kids - Earphones'

Baby Monitor - walkie talkie, frs

Purchased these walkie talkies for a cross country trip. We used them to communicate between two cars on a trip lasting 4 days from Oregon to Arkansas. The batteries lasted a reasonable length of time and the sound quality was great. Did encountered other people on the channel we were using, but it was no problem to switch to another channel. Cannot comment on the maximum range since we were never more than a mile apart. This turned out to be a great buy and do recommend this product, particularly for the way we used them. Cobra microTALK CXT90 18-Mile 22-Channel FRS/GMRS Two-Way Radio (Pair) (Black)

I gave these walkie-talkies to my son for his birthday. He and I don't read instructions. Regardless, we figured out how to operate them totally in less than 10 minutes! These are small enough to hold in the hand, easily operate the calling, talk, listen, channel features. We didn't test the, I think, 20 mile limit, but at one block it was fully clear. It comes with a recharger that recharges both units at the same time. While this is great fun for my children and me, it's perfect for adults. With unlimited cell phone calling now available I'm not sure that cell phones aren't even more useful, albeit more costly. I highly recommend these walkie-talkies and I give them a solid, "A".

I don't know why these 2-way radio companies like to exaggerate the range of the units, but when they list the amount of range in miles in big numbers on the front of the box, that means under ideal conditions like in space from the top of a moon mountain to the valley below. On earth you'll be lucky to get 2 miles, but I found that perfectly adequate for my uses.

Some of the functions (and I read the manual) are hard to figure out.

I got these to use when i paintball and they are amazing they work in the snow and they are just awesome to use for car trips also and i give one to my little cousin when he walks home and i know he's safe that way

I purchased these walkie talkies, for use at Wal Mart while shopping, so I could find my wife at times, works good, also use them to carry with me when I walk the dog, and they do fine then too. I haven't used these walkie's over a mile yet and they work fine, don't really know how much distance you could get from them, but I live in a mountainous region and lots of hills, so, probably couldn't get much distance , but works fine for me.

We needed an in house walkie talkie system. The button on one of the hand-sets broke soon after we bought it, but my husband and daughter were goofing around and pressing the button continuously and quickly on the one hand set. So with regular use the other one has been fine. We worked around it by turning on VOX on the broken walkie-talkie and it works fine. The only complaint is we have to turn on VOX every time, the set does not retain that setting when off. As far as distance, it is not applicable, we have not tried it outside of the house.

I bought this for realtives who live in the same appartment complex, buildings apart. Kids love it & parents feel it's a peerfect way to keep track of their comings & goings. The range is less than a mile; the sound is good. - Walkie Talkie - Baby Monitor - 2 Way Radios - Frs'
