For Purchase - Kindle - publishing, amazoncom

Kindle has been a revolutionary device when it comes to reading books. However, it is also, albeit more slowly, changing the way that books are published. Thanks to the zero cost of publishing electronic books almost anyone who has something to write about can now write a book of their own. The only aspects of the publishing process that still need to be outsourced are the access to a distribution network and a way to collect payment for the books that are sold. Fortunately, the Kindle Store provides a way of elegantly and effectively solving both of those issues, and this very short documents explains how this can be accomplished. This document is more of a step-by-step easy to understand and follow how-to guide rather than a full-fledged introduction to publishing with on Kindle store. Most of the material could be figured out just by going to Amazon's website, but it's useful to have it in a self-contained and accessible form. There are a few points that I think are important to keep in mind if you are interested in publishing on Amazon:

* Your book needs to be in an HTML format. This may exclude some more complex and technical works that are not easily converted into HTML.

* If you are only publishing your book in online Amazon Kindle store you will not get and ISBN, which may or may not be an issue when you try to promote your book.

* Your book will be subjected to Amazon's internal review, so publication is not automatic.

* Amazon will take either 30% or 65% royalty cut, depending on the size of your book and the price that you charge for it.

* If you are publishing your book from outside of the US Amazon will also withhold about 30% of all royalty payments for tax purposes.

As I mentioned already, this is just the barest-bones introduction to publishing in Kindle Store. For more elaborate explanation and tips on how to publish your books this way you may need to look elsewhere. There are a few books out there that deal with this and if you are serious about publishing books directly to Kindle I would recommend taking a look at one of these other publications. Publish on Amazon Kindle with Kindle Direct Publishing

How-to-do-it books come in 3 modes: super technical, sloppy, and helpful.

This book is in the third categoary. It has straight forward instructions and explanations.

I should know. I spent several years myself writing software manuals.

I also just published my first ebook on Amazon.

For ebook authors, "Publish" is a must.

Thanks for making it so easy, Amazon.

The Rose Killer

I have published an e-book on Kindle through Amazon, and although I had tried another e-book publishing company, it is much easier to publish on Amazon Kindle and this book succinctly takes you through all of the steps in a simple and complete manner. I found it invaluable if you are going to publish for Kindle.

This kindle book contains the same information as the simplistic walkthrough on the KDP site.

While this is a free title, and as such has lesser expectations than a book you would actually pay for, the lack of information is saddening, given that the source is Amazon itself.

This book in its entirety deals only with the business aspects of getting your book published through the site, and touches on how to actually create the book only by linking to various places on the web.

Being someone who is interested in creating books for the Amazon Kindle, there is much that I would like to see in a book from the source about how to create a book that is only available through the forums, and not in an official source.

The Kindle is a wonderful device, with great potential. I would like official information on how to make the most of the platform. As it is, we are given all the information we need on the business side of things, and set to fend for ourselves on figuring out the rest of Amazon's platform.

This Book is a must for anyone who wishes to learn the insides and the outs

of writing and publishing their own e-book. It is a step-by-step Guide for DTP Formatting and HLML

Manuscripts to Publication which is a breeze when you follow the Guide. With a finished Manuscript,

it takes about a half hour to Publish. I recommend it!

This book is OK for a brief overview of how to publish for Kindle but skimps on information about how to (legitimately) avoid the 30% withholding tax by non-US residents. Also, the links provided in the book do not work anymore. I had to do Google search to find the information I wanted to know.

This short buide is exactly what it says it is. And how better to discuss publishing on Kindle than to write a book on it for the Kindle!

What you need to know is here. Grab it, read it, and see if you can write something great!!

.

About what you expect from most self published ebooks. Most of the information was useful, but easily could be found at Amazon/blogs/kindle websites. It might be worth the couple of bucks to not have to search, but always be wary of "self published" ebooks. IMHO - most are scams and are poorly written. However, not this book. The author merely takes information that is available and puts it together in an ebook. - Publishing - Kindle - Nonfiction - Amazoncom'

Toshiba Laptops - hp pavilion notebooks, toshiba laptop

I am not a novice to technology starting in the 1990's with DOS. Having owned 6 laptops prior I was sold on Dell until lately. Their customer service, battery life, HD crashes, etc. caused me to look at other brands.

The Hewlett Packard DV6-3240 us initially caught my eye do to the style; sleek, lighted logo, and pewter color. Sweet. But the real love affair begins when you open the lid - lighted, spill resistant keyboard, quick keys (email, browser, print calculator, etc. to the left) blu-ray, finger print identification, burns your label on your cd...wow. When watching videos streamed or Youtube, I would have to wait for it to buffer. No more. The HD sound and picture is phenomenal. I love this computer. Even the HP backgrounds are amazing.

The finger print ID is a plus. No more logging in, remembering your password, looking for where you wrote it down...having that "Oh yeah, I had to change it, but what is it?" moment. After you do the initial set up...wah-la...swipe your finger and you're in. This until pairs beautifully with the HP printer (yes, I threw the Dell wireless printer out the door after reinstalling the drivers no less than 15+ times due to no communication...grrrrrr). The set up is a breeze. As you can tell, I definitely recommend this computer. Very pleased with the product performance, low/no noise, better than average brake dust, and typical stopping power.

However, the shipping packers at Amazon warehouses need some lessons in QA. The initial shipment was nicely packed in a standard Amazon cardboard box with air pillow packing filler...but the brake pads themselves were in a completely ripped in half box, with a large rubber band holding it together. Furthermore the brake pads themselves had clearly been installed on a car previously and covered in break dust.

But...then the return process was seamless. I had the replacement pads overnighted for free and in my hands for installation the day after I came home to the original shipment. So kudos for making up for the up front issues. Wagner QC923 ThermoQuiet Ceramic Disc Brake Pad Set

Way better pricing than Your local store...can't beat free shipping. Keep your factory shims in case you wanna to go back to OEM pads...I don't think you will...Order these sat receives on monday!!! No noise yet. Excellent Amazon service. Will buy again from amazon. AAA+++

No Access Code - no access code

The book itself is slightly confusing, but bought for a University Spanish 101 Course. If you need a Book Key for your class, DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK. It does NOT come with a Key and you have to pay $100 for one on the Quia website. Nexos (with Audio CD)

I thought that new Nexos books should come with online access code included, that's why i purchased a new one. Surprisingly, there was NOTHING there, so I had to pay extra $90 to purchase the access code online. Be careful when byuing new books here!

I decided to get this book off Amazon because it was much cheaper than what my school's bookstore was charging. But it DOES NOT come with the book key. I had to pay an extra $99 for the book key on-top of the price for the book. You're better off buying it at your school where it's actually cheaper for you.

Was displeased with the time in transit, so i bought the book from my school book store and returned this one. Also the book did not have the key code that comes with all the books because it's neccessary to access and use the "Quia" spanish course website that is part of my spanish class. When the key code is purchased seperately it's between $90 and $114 all by itself, so it's make sense to buy a new book that includes the code if your school requires you to use the site as part of your grade.

The item was misleadingly advertised as being in "very good" condition. I was surprised to see when the book arrived that the cover was significantly torn and bent and that many pages were dog-eared and/or wrinkled. A couple of my classmates agreed that the condition of the book was vastly overrated. The seller should have been more honest about the book's condition and asked for less money. This is the first time I purchased a used book through Amazon and based on this experience would be reluctant to do it again. - No Access Code'

I don't know well they will hold up over the long term compared to the Delta versions, but they fit fine, cut great and are much cheaper. What's not to like?

Update after using for a while. I built a couple of nightstands out of walnut. I finished easily 50 bf of walnut and the blades are still working fine. No noticeable wear. Not sure why the other reviewer had so much trouble with pine. Perhaps the blades were more gummed up than actually dulled. POWERTEC HSS Planer Blades for Delta 13" Planer 22-580

I have had this planer for several years and have used it frequently. Delta no longer makes

this machine and therefore does not make the blades. What a shame, as the replacement blades sold here

are far inferior as those made by Delta. I dont know of any others making these blades, so I am forced to

buy them here, or invest in another planer altogether. Mainly do no like these blades because they do not last long. After surfacing about 50 bf of lodgepole pine the planer struggles to keep pace as the blades dull quickly.

Excellent product. Was just as advertised and installed with ease. Searched other places but could not find replacements with quality and price that Amazon

offered. Should have bought a spare pair just in case no one sells them in the

future. You can't go wrong with this product.

I purchased these blades as a cheaper solution to the higher costing Delta brand blades. I was able to run one 6'x6" figured maple board thru the planer, with nominal results. The second board came out with ridges, from the blades being nicked. Both boards were clean and inspected prior to running thru the planer. After a couple more passes thru the planer, the finish just got worse. I reinstalled my old, dull, Delta brand blades and finished the project.

These blades are a very good example of "You get what you pay for."'

I bought this for use on our houseboat. We already have several Porter-Cable cordless tools which are all high quality products. It is easy to add to the set once you have the battery packs. We have used the grinder several times already and it works with ease...perfect for our purpose of not wanting to worry with stringing an electric cord and yet have a tool that can handle a variety of jobs on a boat. Fein

The velcro is the weak element of these pads. But of course it's the velcro that makes the pads, which are otherwise well made, so convenient. You can easily destroy one of these expensive things in minutes-- while thinking how cautious you're being. So resign yourself. There's a way to avoid it, but it takes care and control:

Let the tool and unworn sandpapers do the work. Do NOT bear down.

Avoid using the tips if you can use the edges, avoid using the edges if you can use the whole surface (This is obvious, but keep repeating it to yourself).

Invest in sandpapers of the graded grits that span the needs of your projects; in use, resist skipping grades; they exist for good reason.

Rotate the tips (and yep, the edges will follow) frequently, BEFORE they are worn. Heat build-up can damage the pad underneath long before the paper is done for. Rotating allows you to inspect the pad (and paper) while letting it cool some. If possible, use two different sides or edges by shifting your grip.

A note on the sandpaper: If you are sanding painted surfaces, especially at corners and joints, the paper will clog quickly, and more so if you are not using coarse enough grit; so, inspect several times per minute. Frequent use of a small wire brush can help unclog the paper. And repeat, "Rotate".

Tell yourself that despite the high cost of pads and sandpaper it's still worth it-- if you follow best practices -- in time saved, work reduced and results. improved. Fein 63806129026 Velcro Sanding Pad, 2-Pack

I use my Fein Multitool for detail sanding for the most part so these sanding pads are indespensible. I love everything about the tool save for these. They wear out almost imediately. The problem is heat build-up at the corners. The hooks and substrate are plastic, with little resistance to heat. I've tried using less pressure and frequent paper changes (which does help a little) but the fact remains that these velco sanding pads are the weak link in an otherwise stellar system. I'll still use the tool because it's great, and I'll still buy these pads because there's no alternative, but I'll piss and moan about the fact that one must buy about as many of these expensive things as the paper that goes on them!

This is the factory replacement for the sanding pad on the Fein Multimaster Q Edition. For speed and efficiency of sanding, most users probably use the highest speed setting. And doing that will melt the edges of the pad and it's velcro surface. As good as this tool is, it certainly has its limitations, and this is one of them.

As others have said here, these pads are P*ss poor. With all the negative reports, you'd think Fein would get a clue.

The sander itself is excellent and some of the other accessories are top notch. But I sure wish they would beef up this H/L pad

I'd like to know if other brands of pads are just as bad.

If you are like me and constantly changing sanding grits, the velcro is fantastic. No need to peel of the old one and have to discard it. This allows me to reuse the sandpaper and saves me money especially when I have very small jobs to do.

It is difficult to comprehend Fein providing sanding pads and paper which are so useless. I have had the sandpaper/pads melt in sanding just a 3/4" X 2" area. Both the felt on the paper and the Velcro on the pad melted. I went through 20 sheets of paper to sand a close-quartered area. Whereas my B & D Megamouse did a 4-foot X 4-foot area with just one sheet. Both on the same project.

I have a fein mutimaster that is 15 years old and for certain jobs cant be beat but the pad is really pathetic.I just purchased some new pads, installed it,installed coarse grit sandpaper to avoid the dreaded heat build up and used it roughly 30 seconds then went to switch grits and as I was pulling the sandpaper off it pulled the velcro off along with the sandpaper.COME ON FEIN!!!!!!!!!'

Kayak Paddles - inflatable kayaks, kayak

I bought this paddle along with the 13' Advanced Elements Expedition kayak. It's a paddle so it does what it's supposed to - paddle. It features spring loaded locking cleats that allow you to twist and angle the blades up to 60 degrees. Personally I like mine parallel. The shaft is made of heavy gauge aluminum and seem like it would hold up well. The blades are molded plastic but appear to be reinforced so breakage would be hard to do. This particular paddle is a bit long at 230 cm. Most veteran paddlers will tell you 210-220 is all you need. The Expedition if a pretty wide boat however so the extra length works for a novice, but overall its length promotes poor paddling technique forcing you to use sweeping strokes to avoid the sides of the boat rather than vertical strokes. It is also a bit on the heavy side when compared to expensive composite paddles, but that's to be expected for the price. Its real strength is its portability. I love being to break it down into 2 or 4 smaller sections for easy storage. All in all it's a fine paddle for the Advanced Elements inflatable kayaks, but I would go elsewhere if you are using a hard sided boat. Advanced Elements 4-Part Packlite Paddle

I bought this paddle to use with my NRS packraft. I pack into high lakes and fish. It works very well for that purpose. The pieces fit together snugly, so I am always careful to disassemble the paddle at night. I have seen other paddles (not this brand) become fused together when left assembled for too long. Rather than mess with lubricants or anti-seize compounds, I just disassemble them. In general, I feel it is worth the price.

I have paddled many miles in my Advanced Elements kayak using a $180 paddle. I decided to try the Advanced Elements paddle as one of mine needed replacing. This paddle works well for someone that is not paddling long distances such as on long sea kayaking trips. - Inflatable Kayak - Inflatable Kayaks - Advanced Elements - Kayak'

Fishing Rod - rod, okuma

The TU-150 is 15' long. It is 3 pieces. I own 2 and bought my 3rd on 11/9/10 on Amazon.

The rod is phenomenal. I recommend you litely sand all connecting points for the joints so that the sections do not stick together because they will... after sanding rub surfer's "SEX WAX" for surf boards around the connecting joints (inside/outside as applicble). This rod casts about 30% further than my 12' surf rods and I use it in extreme surf with heavier weights OR when I just want to cast as far as any human being can cast a weight and a bait...no kidding.... I am able to cast 12 and 14 ounce weights with this rod in extreme conditions and I can cast an 8 ounce weight so far I have had other surf fishermen watch in awe. I fish for Stripers and Blues on Long Beach Island N.J. and this rod is great. Clean it after every use, treat it well and enjoy it.

Put a good reel on it, big reel recommended as this is a big rod. Nice tip action does not lie, tells you when a fish is messing with your bait. It takes a bit of muscle and skill to cast this beast and I love mine (all 3).....they make surf fishing even more fun !. Enjoy !.

-ARTIE STOUT Okuma Fishing TU-150 Tundra 15-Foot 3-Piece Surf/Pier Spinning Rod (Large, White/Blue)

Great rod perfect for fishing off the shore and the lightweight and durable for any type of fisherman. I've been fishing for 15 years and i've found

no problems with rod and for the price you can't go wrong

The ad said two piece but it is a three piece rod. I have another similar rod that also is three piece, not bad but wanted a two piece. Two problems with rod, the sections stuck together and I had a hard time getting them apart. Actually two did not come apart the second time I used it. Also it developed a small crack at the joint, about 1/8" long. It has a good feel when fishing with it and I liked the eye that lays down when transporting. I own a lot of Okuma equipment for surf fishing and this rod is the only item I am not thoroughly pleased with.

Pros:

It is long 15' and that gives better casting distance

The first guide has a large diameter so the line travels easily

Compared to other surf rods guide diameters are larger including the last guide which I believe adds more distance to the casting

Rod color white is better when fishing at night to detect bites without using bells or led light

Stronger rod blanks

Non slip thick rubber grips and their positioning is better for distance or power casting

The rod action is very good for distance casting

Cons:

Sections stick together extremely hard to remove

Guide materials tends to rust easily

Reel seat has a minor play to it further tightening will damage some rubber around it.

Pole is heavier and thick in diameter

Very short insert points in sections (probably cost minimization in manufacturing process) it is a major disadvantage on this rod

Short insertion points in sections may have made them fatter to make section joins stronger but sometimes totally impossible to remove sections

Rating:

4 stars

Experience:

My good experiences are tainted with bad experiences. I had virtually impossible to detach rod sections.

Drove few hours to get to the high tide in one of the best surfs ended up with rod sections stucked together with guides facing opposite directions.

Let alone that I could not even bring it back home as it not fit in the car without removing sections.

Word of warning when assembling do not press sections hard together it will create a vacuum (just like clapping with cupped hands). Make slowly and gently go in (bit hard though).

If sections stucked together then remove the reel completely and hold rod 70 degrees to the earth surface (10 o'clock facing west) from the bottom section then go shake the rod hard to loosen the joints.

If above did not work flatten out the rod on a table and lightly clamp the MALE section (WARNING do not clamp tight) use thick rugs on clamping area to avoid any damages to the rod paint work. Lightly make three taps around the edge of the joint in order to press the female section slide out use a very blunt object like a cold chisel (not a sharp object) and a light hammer.

Why I rate 4 is mainly due to reasonable prize and the action of the rod.

It's big!!!...but that's why you order it. For the price, I don't know how they can sell it for ~ $35. Surprisingly well made for an inexpensive 15' surf rod. Casts a mile, but not for someone with a cardiac condition, as you will work. I have it paired with a 30 lb. test Daiwa 9000C and with some practice, it will sling it past the far break +. Recommend for someone looking to try distance surf casting.

I usually surf fish in close with a grub or Gulp; perch, corbina, croaker, halibut on a light spinning rig ~ 6-8 lb test, 7.5 ft. rod. With this 15 footer I cast out a piece of bait, put it in a holder and then use the fun light tackle for perch, etc., while I wait for something further out to hit this rig and ring the rod tip bell. In SoCal that usually means a small leopard shark or a ray. Fun

this is a great rod for surf fishing. action is perfect and the rod is strong. i took it to malibu for a little surf fishing and had no problems landing a leapord shark. ive got it paired with a okuma abf 90. i liked it so much i ordered a 12 footer with a abf 60.

This may or may not have been the seller. But there is a part of me that is pretty sure it was. The rod came to me in a box that had been taped together. At first I thought the post office did it, but the tape used to 'repair' the box was the same tape that was originally used for shipping. The pole arrived broken and two rings werent bent severely. Fortunately - Amazon took care of replacement relatively quickly. But I would definitely advise opening up your box from them IMMEDIATELY to see if it's in good shape. The pole is definitely killer for the price. It's not the best pole I have, but for the money I wouldn't be able to get better. - Fishing Rod - Okuma - Rod'

Space Saver - organization accessories, gift for women

This product has proven very useful in keeping my necklaces and bracelets organized and untangled. It is much easier to find items now than having to search through several drawers. There is no way to store earrings with this product, but I was aware of that before purchasing. Do be aware that you will need to balance the weight out a bit on each side, which would be true of any organizer similar to this. If you have a particularly heavy piece of jewelry, it is best to hang that towards the center as opposed to the edge or else the organizer will tilt strangely. I use this against a wall and only use one side of the organizer (I do not have a large amount of fashion jewelry). If you plan to use this against a wall I would hesitate to use both sides of the organizer as your jewelry may be scratched along the wall. I also do not suggest putting it in a closet next to clothing as your exposed jewelry pieces could snag on a favorite shirt and mess it up unless you put a plastic cover on it.

For my particular purpose, this product works very well, but as I said think about how and where you will be using the product because there is no plastic and all of your jewelry is exposed to anything brushing against it. Household Essentials Necklace/Bracelet Organizer

I was so excited to recieve this item--I thought it was just what I needed, to get my chunky bracelets and necklaces organized in one place. And hanging in the closet! That's clever, I thought; and I ordered it.

Then I recieved it. First, nowhere does it say "Household Essentials," it says "Jewelry Solutions." Looks identical to the pictures on Amazon. Whatever. The real problem is that the quality of this item is truly horrendous--the manufacturer should be ashamed. The metal hanger not one sturdy piece of metal, but two pieces loosely connected, so that it is wobbly and unstable, yet without the benefit of actually being able to turn the hanger 180 or 360 degrees.

The cloth pull tabs have velcro sewn to them, which pulled apart from the tab on the very first tug (as a previous reviewer mentions); plus the velcro covers almost the entire inside of the tab, and would catch on any jewelry items that were fabric, or knit/crocheted.

The binding tape sewn around the edge of the organizer, especially at the top near the hanger, is sloppy, with raw fabric edges exposed. It is overall the worst that a Made in China (and it was) item has to offer, and looks, truly, like it might have been sewn by a child.

If we stop spending too much on poor-quality merchandise (and $17 dollars was way too much for this), then perhaps greedy companies will stop believeing they can pull something over on us--that's way I've taken the time to write this review. I cannot recommend this product, and can only hope that someone somewhere takes the initiative to create a better version of the same idea.

I love this product; however, there is no cover of any kind. Your necklaces are hanging out in the open, more likely to tarnish, turn,

hang up on something else in the closet. I took some very small plastic jewelry bags and put my necklaces in them and hung them on the organizer. I don't believe I should have to do this.

Good merchant; GREAT product, idea, quality much better in person and even nicer looking; plus fast delivery. When I came across their earring organizer quite a few months ago, it was so fantastic that I immediately got one for my daughter. So when I recently found this Necklace/Bracelet Organizer, I immediately ordered 2 this time, and again had prompt delivery. This is an even better idea than the earrings, if you can believe that! It not only does the obvious, which is keeping your necklaces hung so they don't get tangled...but you can easily look across the row and find which one you want to wear very fast. Plus if you have a matching bracelet, it's hung right above the necklace. Then the real bonus for me (besides spending time getting knots out of chains, knowing it's not a waste of time because the necklaces will hang nice and protected...but as I got out my jewelry from various jewelry boxes, I found necklaces and bracelets I had totally forgotten about, and haven't worn in years!! Now that my jewelry is organized, I find myself wearing it more often because it's so easy and fast to find.

This is a great organizer for necklaces and (thin) bracelets. However, it does not easily accommodate larger (thicker) bangle-type bracelets. Very sturdy, and easily, clearly displays necklaces and thin bracelets easily, however. Would definitely recommend.

This organizer doesn't take up much space in a closet but holds lots of jewelry. I gave it only 4 stars because it has no capacity to keep items tarnish-free. I was looking for an organizer for long necklaces and this fits the bill very nicely. I have another organizer with plastic pockets and that does not work well for long necklaces or chunky bracelets. Velcro loops on both sides here.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this organizer! I will get another one for my sister and probably a third one for myself.

Pro

offer both short (bracelet size) and long (necklace size) placement

velco loops make it easy to place items of various size and shapes

velco loops save space, b/c I can put several necklaces together within one loop

very durable, even the velco loops are well made and strong

I also put my hair bands on it

Con

Maybe the price, but its so worth it!

if materials of necklace is cloth type, velco might messy up the jewelry

Tip

I don't want my glass pendants to hit each other and I don't want them to get dusty, so i put just the pendants in mini ziploc bags (pill-size bag/pouch)

This organizer is quite good as far as keeping things sorted and untangled.

One of the Velcro tabs half tore off when I opened up one of the straps, due to a sewing application issue.

Also, if this is going in your closet and your closet is full like mine is, you have to watch out what you hang this next to if you have jewelry that snags.

I've had to wedge this in between flat, cotton items to ensure to harm is done to my clothing or my jewelry.

It's be nice to see a future version of this have a roll-down canvas flap on each side to avoid this dilemma. - Jewelry Organizer - Hanging Jewelry Storage - Gift For Women - Organization Accessories'

Cordless Nailer

This latest offering from Paslode is the next iteration of their venerable cordless framing nailer (IMCT). The unit has addressed some issues that existed with the original design and has added some new features. Some people found the firing rate of the previous design to be a little slow so this new nailer does fire faster. The nose of this nailer actuates in more positions and with less pressure than the older model making the nailing process a little easier when toe-nailing in tight areas. The fuel cell has been redesigned so that it is a simple drop in as some people apparently had issues with the fuel cell not mating properly with the metering valve; I never experienced this myself. This unit holds more nails per load and the rafter hook has been redesigned so that it can actually be hung on a rafter as the older style was to narrow. Finally they redesigned the combustion chamber with the intent of increasing the time that the nailer will operate reliably before needing to be cleaned. I have no reason to doubt this but it is too early for me to tell if it has been achieved.

All in all the unit itself is a nice redesign that fits well in the hand and addresses a few deficiencies with the earlier design. However this offering does bring a whole new and in my opinion a show stopping issue to the table. Paslode management has decided to package the fuel cells for this product with the nails. This mean that they must be purchased together so if the cell runs out, is defective or you lose a fuel cell you have to get more nails. This also does not bode well for those who have stocked up on nails. The fact that the redesigned fuel cells are not compatible with the older units is a problem in itself and forcing customers to buy nails with the cells just adds insult to injury. Paslode claims that this will ensure that the customer has enough fuel for the lot of nails but i think there is an ulterior motive lurking.

In my opinion Paslode is showing very little commitment to the customer by selling fuel cells only with nails... I think their true reasoning for this may be to ensure that you buy Paslode nails. In addition, in terms of space there seemed no practical reason to change the fuel cell design other than to ensure that it was not compatible with older guns. The "drop-in" installation could of been achieved by redesigning the nozzle and slot retaining backwards compatibility. I am sure that someone at Paslode is planning on sun-lighting the older red fuel cells forcing owners of the older Framing nailer (IMCT) to upgrade. Sorry Paslode this is not the sign of a top company that supports its loyal customers... I hope that the management at Paslode see fit to offer the new cells both separately and for a reasonable price. I also hope that they find a way to ensure that older framing nailer's will continue to have fuel available. Homeowners who may not use the guns very frequently expect that their purchase(Expen$ive) of a commercial quality tool would function for a very long time, let's not let them down. Paslode CF325 902200 Cordless Framing Nailer

the gun works like a charm! toe nailing is greatly improved with this gun because of the new tip that you can change depth with your hands. I used this gun all day for framing a big deck, went through half a box of ACQ 3 1/4" nails and every time I pulled the trigger the nail drove home, not one miss fire. when gun gets hot it still keeps working perfectly (new stainless O rings) the fuel cell is easier to load and unload. Much improved over the previous 900420 cordless Paslode framer. The only reason why this gun gets a 4 star is because you can't buy the fuel cells without buying a box of 1000 Paslode nails. New orange fuel cell is different than the red fuel cells and you can't switch the cap of the fuel cell. they say that you should be able to drive over a 1000 nails with one fuel cell, well from what I've experienced with the 900420, if you don't have the perfect weather conditions (like 15 degrees) your fuel cells don't last that long and you need to keep an extra cell warm in your pocket, so while the one in your gun is getting too cold to work, you can switch with the warm one in your pocket. If they start selling fuel cells separately I will change the 4 star rating to 5.

I recently purchased Palsode's new and improved CF-325 cordless framing nailer when my 10 year old Impulse bit the dust. I like the rubberized hand grip which helps in keeping the gun under control as my hands are dripping with sweat, which is almost all the time down here in southern most Key West, Florida. (hot, hot, hot). I can toe nail like a dream with this gun. The gun hanger has a cool improvement, as it will hang off my tool belt or when switched around can hang on joists. Very handy. The new fuel cell set up keeps the fuel cell firmly in place so that it does not dislodge while firing, like in the older gun. The door for the fuel cell compartment is much beefier with metal parts, rather than just plastic. The depth setting is a breeze as you can do so by hand rather than having to break out the tools. I have gone through 4500 nails with no problems. I was very frustrated trying to find replacement fuel cells. None of the lumber yards in the Keys had heard of this new gun, let alone sell fuel cells. My only complaint is a ditto on the previous reviewer in that Paslode is not selling fuel cells by themselves. You have to buy nails and fuels cells toghter in a combo pack. I had plenty of nails from Home Depot and did not want pay the shipping fee for more nails just to get fuel cells. I hear that Home Depot is going to be selling the combo packs and the new gun in about 1 month. Fortunately, I was able to buy separate fuel cells on ebay and get back to nailing.

I am a DIY person who enjoys framing. I purchased the CF325 last week for a job building a stage in our church where I could not use a compressor. Opened the box, read the directions, inserted the fuel cell, loaded a rack of the largest diameter (.131") X 3-1/4" long Paslode nails and in less than 5 minutes, from opening the box, I was nailing 2 x 6 framing members together and a 3/4" OSB floor on top. On the second lowest setting for nail depth, it drove them perfectly, just slightly below the surface. No need to readjust going from 2 x 6 framing to nailing down the 3/4" OSB subfloor. You can justify the small cost of the fuel cell against the time to position an air compressor, it's operating and maintenance costs, and the hassle of the air hose. This tool is amazing. I could not believe how fast the whole job went. Outside in the winter, keep a second fuel cell inside your jacket where it can stay warm. As they lose pressure from the cold air, just rotate them back and forth. Takes only seconds. This tool, if it holds up as well as others seem to indicate, can revolutionize framing.'

Screwdriving Bit Sets - quick change, drill bit sets

Vitals:

-- easy to use (quick change)

-- I've had mine for years with no problems

-- it's useful how it essentially functions as a bit extender as well

Pre-drilling your screw holes is one of those things that never seems worthwhile... until you've been at it for a few years, and ruined a few things, and you wish you could go back to your younger self and say "Self? You really should pre-drill... and save yourself some heartache. Also, don't bother to see Hot Tub Time Machine... it's terrible."

Anyway... this tool makes pre-drilling so easy that you'll quickly realize how wrong you were not to do it in the first place. I know, I know. It hurts inside just to think about it.... but the sooner you get this tool, the sooner the healing can begin. DEWALT DW2730 8 Piece Quick Change Drill and Drive Set

Bought this to replace a Makita driver kit that worked well for many years. The quick release was not positive nor easy to secure. I expected more from DeWalt products. The drill bit came out several times during the first use and it is easy for the small hex screws to fall out and get lost. The Makita kit I used before had a hex wrench built in to the driver so you would have to worry about losing the provided wrench. This product works but I expected DeWalt products to be much better. - Drill Bit Sets - Quick Change - Screwdriving Bit Sets'
