Hugger Mugger

These blocks are great for yoga. The cork is my favorite material - firm and solid like wood, but without hard edges and not slippery on a wood floor, like the best attributes of a foam block. The only drawback is that they are heavy; foam blocks are better if you're traveling with them and need to carry your bags. Hugger Mugger Cork Yoga Block

This is my second Hugger Mugger Cork Yoga block. I use them for restorative poses or to help me with side angle pose, etc. I use two of these blocks for down-ward facing dog when my shoulder injuries flare up. They are high quality and the company has a history of making good products and being respectful of the enviornment and of trying to maintain fair-wage practices, in case this influences your opinions. I highly recommend them.

I recently bought 14 of these blocks for my students to use. The response has been universally positive, so far. Everyone likes the heft of the blocks. They don't fall over when you need them to remain in place. Highly recommended!

I wanted yoga blocks that are good for the environment, and these were the ones I ordered. They serve their purpose very well, but they are heavy. I wouldn't recommend them for taking to class--better used at home in your own yoga studio. I wouldn't want to carry them around.

The block weighs 1 pound more than a foam brick according to Hugger Mugger customer service. I like the sturdy feel and sustainability of the product. When it's on sale it was actually cheaper than many of the foam blocks available. It's a great purchase!

9 months later - The cork block holds up well. Some of the cork rubs off slightly from the corners (I see the powdery bits in my bag), but the block is still in great shape. I would have no reservations about buying this product again.

After checking feedback re blocks, I ordered two Hugger Mugger Cork Yoga Blocks. I love them. They have increased my yoga class immensely. I can lean into a pose without fighting my current inflexibity and still benefit from the pose. Cork absorbs the sweat. A plus because yoga is amazing in that I move so little and sweat so much. I also have a pair of Danskin blocks for home practice and they get sweaty quickly, making for a bit of slippage.

I use my yoga blocks a LOT and like these Hugger Mugger blocks the best of what I've tried. The edges are rounded for a nice feel and the blocks fit into my hands nicely.

I have tried a different cork brand that was too big to hold easily and the edges were too square to be comfortable. I've also tried the bright colored foam blocks and like them for some things, but not for others - they fall over too easily in the tallest position. So for all round use, I like the Hugger Mugger blocks the best.'

Rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride - rechargeable batteries, smart charger

The "Tenergy Speedy Box" (aka "Ni-Cd & Ni-MH Computer Controlled Smart Charger" Model BC-1HU) is, as of this writing, the best (and one of the fastest) smart chargers I've owned yet.

Likes:

* CAPACITY: it has 2 groups of charging bays. The first (located in it's upper right corner) can handle two 9v batteries. The second (under it's silver lid) can handle 4 of any combination of the following types: AAA, AA, C, D. The charger can handle both NiCad and NiMHi.

* ERGONOMICS: There's no need to toggle any switches in order to handle different types of batteries ... the charger's CPU automatically detects the size and type (NiCad or NiMHi) of any given battery placed into any individual charging slot, and it automatically adjusts the charging curve for that slot to the optimum method ... and you can mix and match different types of batteries in different cells, and it will individually charge and monitor each one independantly.

* SPEED: Because this charger is truly 'smart', it can quickly sense when a battery has reached full charge and switch that one battery to standby (the LED for that battery will change from Red to Green) ... which really helps extend battery life by avoiding unnecessary overcharging (esp when the power blinks and would otherwise trigger another full charging pass in many older 'dumb' chargers). The only battery type that takes an unusually long time is the 9v, but that's probably true of all chargers.

NITS:

* I wish the two 9v charging slots each had their own individual charge status LED (like the other 4 slots in the main bay do). Other than that, I'm very happy with this unit. Waxing philosophical for a moment - it'd be nice if someone would make a true "universal" charger that could also handle things like IPods, Cellphones, Car Batteries, etc. (each whith they own connecting adaptor), but that sort of technology convergence is still a ways off in the future.

Highly recommended - I've owned mine since early 2006.

Also recommended are the Tenergy 2600 mAh AA batteries, which have very good capacity and lifespan. I use them in everything that can handle the slightly decreased voltage inherent in rechargeables. This charger, and my batteries, have already paid for themselves several times over. Newer users will reach their break-even point even faster than I did, because this charger's price is now (as of this writing) less than half what it cost me when it first came out. BC1HU 110-240V Universal Fast Smart Charger for AA/AAA/C/D/9V Rechargeable Batteries

I bought one of these chargers about five years ago when it was a brand-new model, and considerably more expensive. Still, considering the near-constant use it has seen charging my large collection of batteries that sustain my digital existence, the investment has paid off several times over. This represents many hundreds of charges. At its current price, it is quite competitive with the handful of newer models that have digital readouts (in contrast to simple red and green LEDs,) and has the added advantage of being able to handle C-and D-cells, a feature I call upon frequently.

This is a real "smart charger." That means a microprocessor monitors the charge status of the batteries to ensure that they are not overcharged, and as far as I can tell, it works the way it is supposed to. In five years, I have only thrown out two cells, whose failure is most likely attributable to their dubious origin. Better types, like the "generic" Tenergy batteries, have worked flawlessly with heavy use; the same goes for the Sanyo Eneloops and Rayovac hybrids. //my two cents

Too good to be true, at this price. Easy test- take the recharged batteries and put them back in-- there appears to be no overcharge protection, and the batteries will begin to heat up, especially the AAA due to the high charging current.

I bought this back in 2006, and it worked well for the first year or so, recharging the batteries in the kid's toys. However after a year sometimes the charger would give a green light saying the battery was charged even after it had only been in for 5 mins or so. Taking the battery out and putting it in would fix it, but then another year or so, it would stop charging (the red light would turn off) in one of the bays, meaning I only could charge 3 batteries at a time. A few weeks ago, another bay is not working properly. I think that a charger costing this much should last longer than a few years given that it has no moving parts to fail.

I've had many battery chargers over the years and this is the best by far.

It will charge one battery or up to four batteries at the same time. If I'm having a problem with batteries not holding a charge well when charged in another charger I'll charge them in this charger and if the battery is any good it will hold a charge longer than if charged in faster chargers or chargers that don't have a circuit for each battery.

Recommend five stars. - Rechargeable Batteries - Nimh - Chargers - Smart Charger'

Levis - levi 501, pants

Since my husband tried these work pants, he hasn't worn anything else. He won't even wear the various Carrhart pants he has because he says these ones are more comforable and less stiff. Never ripped, just worn holes into them with constant use over a year. Riggs Workwear By Wrangler Men's Ripstop Carpenter Jean, Loden, 36W x 32L

The ripstop is good, heavier than the old BDU type of ripstop. I like the texture and how they feel, like you could climb over sharp ledges and they will still protect your skin. The gusset is good too. I like that they stay somewhat rigid, they dont get all soft and cottony like jeans can. I like the sheen and feel of the material. Dirt brushes off easily.

The flaws are.....the back pockets are placed too high on the pant, the top of the back pocket is just below the belt line. And are also too far to the side seams.

The little leatherette patch on the right front pocket seems like a good idea, like it will protect that area from constant tape measure clips, but the fabric layers add up to be so thick, that I have to use both hands to get the tape to slide down over the seam. i just give up and put the tape in my pocket. Just remove this "feature", or make it cordura, not fake leather. And don't make it brown. Some of us work in "hip" metropolitan areas and might not want to look like we are wearing hunting clothes to work.

The coin pocket is too big, my iphone slips out all the time when I sit down, make it a half inch deeper and more narrow to hold my phone good in there.

The overall fit pattern is suffering from what all pants in this range suffer from, the relation of waist size compared to across the lower hip/crotch line is out of proportion. For example, I have to buy a 40 or 42 waist just to get a roomy fit that wont hug my nuts when I sit down or squat while working. Then I have to cinch a belt and my pants get a pleated look. For work pants, I need to feel like I can move around down there, esp. after work when my play can take me from hopping tall fences, climbing ladders, scaleing walls, you know, general escape, evasion, pursuit type stuff depending on the day.

Great effort though, compared to Carhartt and all the rest, someone at Riggs is paying attention, however, they are unfortunately still designing by outdated patterns and sizing like all mens pants.

I recently bought a couple of pairs of Riggs pants and after using them for a few months, bought two more. These are fantastic pants, tough as leather and yet thin and comfortable. To a prospective buyer- BUY THEM, they are well worth the money. To Wrangler/Riggs, KEEP UP THAT QUALITY, these are the only pants I would buy for work from now on. I am in the tree care industry and we in the industry put pants to the test and these are winners!

If you're expecting denim, you're in for a surprise like I was with these. I also order a pair of blue denim in addition to these in dark green, and I like the regular denim much better.

The design is perdy cool actually, and the fit is just right. However, this material seems like it needs to be ironed, it's very wrinkly IMO. And this material also seems to attract pet hair moreso than anything else I wear.

They do seem very durable and will likely last me a long time, whether camping, fishing and hunting, or just for yard work around the house.

Ever since I tried my first RIGGS Carpenter Jean, I found it better than the jeans I used to wear. The fabric is more resistant, and less prone to decolorate, so it does look as new every time! Also if you do much carpenter work, the special features are great!!

I bought a pair of Riggs Workwear Carpenter pants and a pair of Riggs Workwear Ranger pants at the same time and if you read the descriptions you'll see that they're different. HOWEVER!!! They're identical in every way but the colors which, I selected. ANNNNDDDD, the Carpenter pants are $6.00 cheaper. As a result I gave the Ranger pants only 3 stars (they would've gotten 5 stars but I feel I got ripped off of my hard earned $6.00). That's the only time I ever gave Amazon a less than stellar review. Other than that, the Carpenter pants (and the Ranger pants) both have quality in manufacturing and fit. I'm sure I'll get a lot of miles and years out of them. So, BUY THESE (Carpenter pants) instead of the Ranger pants.

These are the best work pants I've worn, I bought once and have kept on buying. Tough, but way more comfortable than heavy cotton duck pants. For the price, theres nothing better. The pockets are lined with canvas, so you can stick a knife or a screwdriver in your back pocket and no worries.

I wear a 32 waist, which was a bit tight in these. The 33 was perfect. - Levis - Levi 501 - Jeans - Pants'

Home Improvement - do it yourself, home improvement

First off, I'm not a builder. I'm a guy with an office job who sits behind a desk all day long. I think the last thing I built was a birdhouse in third grade and it didn't even last long enough to hang it on a tree. So, I knew building a deck was a BIG project. But, this book made it SO easy! The photos are incredible. They don't use sketches and drawings, they have actual photos. The steps are easy to follow and the instructions are clear from the tools needed to the types of screws to use. If you're looking for a how-to guide on decks, this is the best one! Black & Decker The Complete Guide to Decks: Updated 4th Edition, Includes the Newest Products & Fasteners, Add an Outdoor Kitchen (Black & Decker Complete Guide)

This book has nice pictures and some helpful information. However take it from someone who has purchased to many "how to build a deck" books. If you are actually going to build your deck, and if it is anything other than a basic 1 level deck out the back, if you want to do some really nice finish work, there is only one book I have found that even comes close to telling you how to do it and the tips and tricks. If you are serious save your money and buy Building a Deck: Expert Advice from Start to Finish. It is the only good book on building. You will be glad you did.

Don't build a boring deck because that is all you think a DIY can handle. With this book, anyone can add some architectural features. This book has the perfect mix of examples and how-to. The color photographs are fantastic. Black & Decker book series have definitely mastered the picture = 1,000 words.

I am in the midst of building my first deck which is in fact the first major home project of my life and this book is just perfect. At all levels, especially for beginners! I spent 2 weeks researching almost half a dozen deck building books before I bought this one and so far no complaints.Pros:1. Step by step directions with tons of glossy magnified photos (not sketckes but actual photos).2. Complete list of materials required before each project.3. Gradually increasing difficulty level of projects..the chapters are layed out perfectly with an individuals learning curve.4. Comprehensive chapters on how to care and repair your deck. I can already see using the care section once my deck is built.5. Includes everything on decks - design, posts, framing, decking, stairs, railing, hot tubs, levels, simple to complex designs. You name it and this book has it.Cons:The section on mixing and pouring concrete for posts is a bit thin. I also bought the Quickrete Concrete Guide, which I would also recommend highly by the way, and it has made up for this minor shortcoming. Overall a great book on deck building!!

This book is fabulous for anyone who wants to build a deck but doesn't know where to start. My husband and I used this book to build a deck even though we had never built anything this complex before. After looking over the detailed pictures (not drawings) and easy descriptions, we constructed a 16'x22' deck with angles. This book was a great help and I would recommend it to anyone looking to save money by doing it yourself.

Of all deck books, this is the best deck book if you want to build your own deck. It has step by step instructions and clear illustrations. I built two beautiful decks with this book. I have also built a screen porch and referenced this book often to do it. If I can do it with this book, you can do it. I would give this book 6 stars if I could.

Superb book on how to build a deck, found it very useful and could follow it easily even though this was my first attempt at building one. Would recommend it to anyone. Only problem I found was it's obviously American, so all the dimensions and wood types didn't match what I was buying in France, so a few conversions and fudging were required, but I survived in the end.

This book provides the beginner or experienced handy-person with the fundamentals they will need to design and build a safe and enjoyable structure. There are also lots of good ideas for those who want to be a bit more creative. Good photos and step by step instructions.

The reviewers were right on this one, this is a great book for anyone and everyone wanting to build a deck on their own. Everything is step by step with everything explained in layman's terms so you'll feel comfortable taking on the project.

The last time I did much carpentry was 30 years ago, so not being much of a carpenter, I'm having a deck built for me, but I still wanted to get some information on how its done, so I'd have some idea of what to look for in a well designed and built deck, and how to maintain it. This book was fine for that. It covers all the basics, the different parts of the deck, siting the deck, materials to choose from, design ideas, important things to consider, plus of course how to actually go about building a deck. I learned that many decks these days are actually more of a particle board or composite material, which is low maintenance, which lasts longer and is easier to maintain. I had always liked the idea of a cedar or redwood deck but decided that the other material was the way to go. It doesn't have the nice grain of natural wood, but better resists stains, water, and the elements. Overall, a helpful book, especially for a beginner with not much previous knowledge and expertise. I also liked the book: Building a Deck: Expert Advice from Start to Finish. These two books were the best of the many that I looked at. - Do It Yourself - Home Improvement'

Berkley - berkley, fishing

The Berkley line or reel spooling station is a somewhat useful device for the price. The set up of the spool station was not too difficult, and the instructions are permanently attached to the bottom of the station, a good idea. It helps if you attach the station to a table or bench with a c-clamp to hold it down.

If you look at the picture closely you will see that a baitcasting or a closed face reel sits in the same position it sits on a reel as a top mounted reel. It really works great for this kind of reel. But I found out that my bottom mounting open-faced spinning reel has to mount UPSIDE DOWN since it sits on top of the station. This forces you to reel in the opposite direction you are used to in order to put line on the spool, or you can hold the entire spooling station upside down which means you can't clamp it. Neither of these solutions is comfortable. In my case I have several vintage Mitchell 300 reels worth the large spools, and they take a long time to load this way. This is something the manufacturer probably should have thought of in the design and added a reversible L-shaped arm that raises & lowers to accommodate both top mounting and bottom mounting reels. Fly Fishing reels are affected the same way as they are a bottom mounting reel. If they update the design, they should address this issue first and a lot of people pointed this out in their reviews of this product on the Cabela's site.

There is a little bit of a learning curve in setting it up and getting it adjusted right. You have to fiddle with the tension quite a bit on the spool in order to get it to work correctly without any line slack, but also not letting it get too tight. Any slip in tension allows to line to tangle around the arm. As for durability, the plastic on the station is very thin, and easily cracked and in fact on my first use the reel mount cracked, but to its credit mine still works even with the crack. There is a hole on the bottom to hang the station on a hook or nail.

There is a great line stripper included, it can be removed from the station, takes two c cell batteries (not included). It removed an entire spool of old line from a reel in seconds. You can buy it separately by the way here at Amazon without buying the whole spooling station too. In retrospect, I would probably buy the stripper separately and try something else for spooling new fishing line. I do like Berkley fishing line and trust the name, and that is why I bought it. If you decide to buy one, shop around to get the best price as there are other pages at Amazon selling the same station under different names with different pics. Then combine price plus each sellers individual shipping fee to get the best deal. Just look for the search term "Berkley Station" and that should bring them all up. Hope this helps. Berkley Portable Line Spooling Station

Well, this was not the line spooler in the picture but the portable line spooler. I have already spooled 3 reels, 2 conventional Penns and 1 Shakespeare spinning reel. I've had no problems at all. The spinning reel was a little hard to get used to turning backwards to load line but after maybe 50 - 60 feet of line it was no problem. This is great if you have multiple reels and change line every year. The included line stripper works great. Over all, this was a great buy.

This looks like fun. This is a gift for someone and I think it will make a fisherman's life much easier. No more tangled lines. No more hours of spooling a line the old-fashioned way. And it fits in any compartment on the boat.

This thing works great. I have been spooling line from line spools directly onto my reels while mounted on the rods. There was no real good way to keep tension on the line while spooling this way, so the line was usually a bit too loose on the reel.

This little gem solved that problem - perfectly.

It even includes a "power stripper" to strip the old line off the reel first.

This is a good idea, but it broke the first time I used it. The little threaded insert that holds the set screw for the tensioners stripped right away. Without the tensioners, you might as well just load line straight off the spool.

I purchased the Berkley Portable Line Spooling Station for use in spooling two new reels. The concept is great but the design is grossly lacking quality and functionality for what is advertised. The spool mounting is just not sturdy enough to provide what is advertised and will not sustain.

I suggest that the current design be sent back to production. - Fishing - Berkley'

Dress Watches - mens watch, movado watch

I recently bought this watch as I've been thinking about purchasing a nice watch for some time. I looked at over 2500 different watches and ended up buying this one. I have to say that I am more than satisfied with my purchase.

Pros:

The watch itself has a good weight due to the Carbide material that is denser than steel or titanium and three times as hard making it very resistant to damage and scratching. The Crystal of the watch is Sapphire Crystal which is the best quality Crystal you can get in a watch. It has a very simple but sophisticated design and feels great on your wrist. The limited edition version has a clear back allowing you to see the Mainspring and the Balance Wheel working which is a very nice touch. The bracelet clasp is a butterfly design with a slight curb that conforms to your wrist giving it a snug feel. My watch was sized to fit my wrist exactly and normally having it that tight bothers me on other watches but in comparison it's quite comfortable with this watch. While driving from time to time as the sun hits my wrist just right the reflection off the bracelet creates a halo of light in my car which is very beautiful in its own way.

Cons:

Since the watch has been polished to a mirror finish, it will get dirty every chance it gets. Any small rub from anything that has any kind of oil on it will leave its mark on the watch. If you've had a long day, even the oil from your wrist that rubs off on the inside of your shirt sleeve will rub off onto the watch just simply because the watch touches the inside of your sleeve. I find myself cleaning my watch a few times a day. The best cloth I found for cleaning is microfiber lint free cloths; it really does a great job cleaning off the loose oils. Sometimes there may be a very stubborn stain on the watch which requires a little water to loosen before you can get it off.

I've read lot of reviews on this watch and everyone seems to quote the price of this watch at about $2500 - $3000 but I have yet to find this watch at that price in any retail store. This watch retails at all authorized Movado retailer for $3995 and typically the store is willing to give you some kind of discount which is usually 15% which still makes this $3395.75 not including taxes. This is definitely not a recession friendly watch. My only guess to the reasoning behind the price quote difference is that maybe the watch appreciated in value since it first came out? Your guess is as good as mine.

I did notice that you can purchase this watch for as much as 40% off ($2397 w/o taxes) from online watch wholesalers but if you do you lose any warranty that Movado authorized retailer/manufacturer offers. Even if the online retailer says that they will include all original paperwork and even the warranty card, if the card is not embroidered by an authorized retailer the watch warranty will not be honored by the retail stores.

Overall:

I think this is a great watch for the value, it's definitely not a highly functional watch that lets you measure different times or even seconds since it doesn't have a seconds dial but if your buying this watch your not paying for function but status, class, and to make a statement. Vacuum Accessories - vacuum accessories, computer duster

It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who finds those compressed air can things completely useless in cleaning crap out of my electronics. It's bad enough taht they're bad for the environment, they also don't work as well as the price tag says they should. Thank goodness for this attachment set!

All hype aside, this product works exactly as the makers claim. Use the power of your vacuum to get all the crap out of your keyboard, CPU, stereo and anywhere else. I particularly like the brushes.

I've also found that the dust I'm after is stubborn. You really do need the full power of a vacuum to get at it. So forget those handheld deals that hook into your USB port or whatever. This product is cheaper than a lot of them and works better than all of them. Micro Vacuum Attachment Kit sold at Miniatures

I am so pleased with the micro attachments. The ease in which they can be used is just wonderful. I've used them to get into small spaces between the slats of my air-conditioner to keep it running at top preformance as well as my heater and computer. I've found it to be an all around tool. I'd rate this product with 5 stars without hesitation. Diana

Finally, I can clean all the dust bunnies from our computer and the keyboard. Fits very nicely onto the hose of our Hoover. It also works well in cleaning under the lazy Suan in our cupboards, where regular attachments are too big. This is a good buy for the money.

My mother-in-law had one of these that she uses to clean her sewing machine.

I rebuild computers and thought how handy this would be and how much money I would save on air cans that are $5 ea. and I have bought a million of. I love this little vacuum attachment set, it works great and has a multitude of uses and has already saved me a bundle...Thanx Cyber-Guys!!!! YOU ROCK!!!

This product was listed separately as well as in a package deal with the Dirt Devil Scorpion. When I received it, I realized that there was no possible way for it to be used with the Dirt Devil. It is a matter of a round attachment and a rectangular insertion hole. It may be a good product but should not be grouped with incompatible products.

Contrary to the seller's claim that the micro attachments work on handheld vacuum cleaners, there is not an adapter included to allow it to attach to the DirtDevil Scorpion handheld vacuum cleaner. Before you purchase, be sure and ask the seller if the micro attachments will fit your specific brand/model of vacuum cleaner.

FALSE ADVERTISING!

My dad had a set like this in the past, and it was helpful for small cleaning areas like computers, the car, stereo equipment, etc.

This is a great kit, I keep it with the vacuum, it has several attachments and a few with small brushes. I have been looking for something like this for a while, but did not find it in a physical store. I'm happy with the purchase and it is very handy to have at home.

wanted to use the tools to vacuum out my serger - sewing machine. Tools are to long and stiff to reach up and under the machine. Works great on flat surfaces. Think I expected to much out of the tools.

This attachment kit does not fit the Metro Vacuum that shows up on the also bought section and the buy all and save section. The attachment kit I got had round attachment ends and the vacuum had square attachment ends. - Computer - Computer Vacuums - Computer Duster - Vacuum Accessories'
