Action Thriller - mystery, airport

TERMINAL INVASION

How lucky was I that on the same day Bruce Campbell's "My Name is Bruce" came out that the long awaited DVD release of the Sci-Fi channel classic "Terminal Invasion" also starring Bruce came out. I have had this movie recorded on vhs for ever, since it debuted on the Sci-Fi Channel years ago. So of course we watched this movie as part of our marathon that ended with "My Name is Bruce", this one right before it since I bought them at the same time. Now I must say that this is a classic with out a doubt but I mean that in the sense that it is a classic for the Sci-Fi Channel, think about it this film had a low budget and also was restrained by being a TV movie. So with that said for a TV movie this is by far a classic in my mind

Deep in the mountains a car is pushing threw a snow storm trying to reach its destination in time, the reason is they are carrying a convict [Campbell] and transporting him to another prison. While driving they crash into a tree and are forced to find shelter else where, the find a small airport full of people who are stuck waiting for the storm to pass. Naturally they are not happy that they are in the company of a convicted murderer, still they must deal with it. Once everything is set up we meet a preacher who talks with the cops and prisoner in the bathroom but all is not what it seems, turns out the preacher is a creature [that rhymes] from another planet. Of course after he kills the guards are reluctant hero [Campbell] kills the alien, naturally all the people there swear he killed them as there is no trace of the preacher [they disintegrate after they die]. So from here the movie goes into a kind of who is who type film since no one knows who else could be an alien, of course that is after the witness them for them selves. So they all must survive the night and each other in order to make it out alive, if they can trust each other.

I love the story behind this film it really is an entertaining plot and keeps you guessing as well as to who is who. Writers Lewis Abernathy, John Jarrell, and Robinson Young should be credited for their story line because it really is quite good. Sure the dialogue could use some work and some of the characters seem flat, but hey this is a Sci-Fi Channel made for TV movie. Also director Sean S. Cunningham who is famous for the original Friday The 13th movie does a good job with this movie and keeps things moving nicely and keeps you guessing on who's who. I can't say enough good things about this movie since I enjoyed so much, sure it is low budget but it is what it is. Sure at times the film doesn't make sense, but I won't give things away. Still this is an enjoyable movie that even with its flaws makes for a good time.

Bruce Campbell of course does a great job as Jack the convict who must rise up to help them make it through the night. He gives another great performance on another low budget flick that honestly may not have been as good with out him, ok it would not have been. Kedar Brown also turns in a good performance as Darian and that is all I can say on him, can't ruin it. C. David Johnson does a good job as well as does most of the other cast but to be honest some of them need to go back to class, hate to say that but it is true. Most of the cast turn in believable performances but the ones who do not know how to make the flat characters come to life struggle. With that said it is still a fun movie that actually is not easy to predict as far as whom are aliens, and that is true.

Over all I really believe that for this type of film this is a classic in that realm, and you should buy it. The DVD comes with a wonderful commentary from director Sean S. Cunningham and executive producer Chuck Simon, both speak not only of the film and the actors but also what everyday people can do now a days to get into the business and learn. This was a wonderful film and a classic Sci-Fi flick, come one and all and purchase this film. Terminal Invasion

With any flick that's made for the Sci-Fi Channel, you pretty much know what you're going to get. Terminal Invasion would typically fall under this category, except for the fact that it stars Bruce "Evil Dead" Campbell, and he alone makes this worth watching. Campbell stars as a death-row convict who, along with a small group of people, are stranded as a nasty blizzard rolls in. Things go from bad to worse however when it is revealed that there are aliens in disguise among the group, and it isn't long before they all start wondering who's who and the body count starts to mount. As said before, Terminal Invasion would fall under the usual kind of Sci-Fi Channel drek, but Campbell manages to save it, regardless of the budget limitations and sloppy direction from original Friday the 13th helmer Sean S. Cunningham. All in all, Terminal Invasion is really only worth seeing if you're a Bruce Campbell fan, and you all know who are. Also featuring Star Trek: Deep Space Nine vet Chase Masterson and Daily Show correspondant Jason Jones.

Bruce has done a number of B Science Fiction movies, and this is one of the better ones. You will have fun with all his B movies but this one stands out a little more because of a good story, great cast, and expert directing. Production values are excellent and help the movie feel real. You will feel you're at the airport with the rest the passengers waiting to board a small plane. Bruce is a prisoner that we know has murdered someone, but not the circumstances. He is being transported from jail to another location when they wreck in a snowstorm. They end up at the airport along with a bunch of stranded people wanting to fly out. The heavy snow isn't the worst of their worries, an alien taking human form is killing people. Problem is poor Bruce gets blamed for it. My rating is closer to three and a half stars, but for Bruce I round up. If you like some comedy with your SciFi, you will probably enjoy it. If you're a Bruce Campbell fan, you'll love it. I think this one fits into the Bruce Cult category. Good quality DVD with plenty of replayability. If you enjoyed this catch "Bubba Ho-Tep". This dropped dramatically in price by at least ten dollars. I highly recommend you grab this one whether you are Bruce Campbell fan or you just enjoy a good B SciFi.

Smartphone Case - defender, iphone 4 case

I waited anxiously for Otterbox to release this case and ordered mine within minutes of receiving the "Defender Released" e-mail. I received the case on Friday and I must admit, it did not disappoint.

First impressions: The case is of great quality and a lot of detail went into making it compatible with all the OEM "accessories". The holster is among the best I've seen for a phone of this size and works perfectly with the case.

After carrying it for two days (and this is already my 3rd iPhone 4 case - I am rough on my phones): The case is without a doubt the most durable I've seen for the iPhone 4 and lives up to the reputation that Otterbox has built over the years.

Cons: The case does add considerable bulk to the phone and may not be perfect for pocket carriers. It does include a holster which works great and can rotate for vertical or parallel carrying of the phone.

Miscellaneous: I have no complaints really, but I am left to wonder if the silicone "flaps" that cover the earphone and USB plug-ins could have been a little more user-friendly. Sometimes they are frustrating to get back into their proper "closed" position.

Edited one month after using: I am still extremely happy with the case. I have dropped my phones a few times already and though the case is starting to show signs the abuse I have provided it the phone still looks pristine! I opened up the case this morning to clean the phone etc and to my surprise there wasn't much to clean. With cases I've owned in the past I would have a forest of lint, dust etc. that would trap itself between the case and the phone. The Otterbox has minimized that debris!

I am uploading several photos showing the difference between a "bare" iPhone 4 and an iPhone 4 in the Defender case so everyone can get an idea of how much "protection" and in turn "bulk" this case adds to the phone.

Edited to add: Amazon removed my pictures when the placed the phone back in a "pre-order" status, I will re-upload them again once they allow. I'm not sure why they state "pre-order" when it should state "Back-ordered, will deliver in xx to xx weeks", but I digress. OtterBox Defender Case iPhone 4 (Blue/Black, Fits AT&T iPhone 4)

Otterbox defender for my iPhone 3Gs was the best thing I ever did for that phone! It fell into and was completely submerged in a 5 gallon pot of BBQ sauce - and rinsed off with the sprayer in the sink. Phone continued to operate flawlessly!

As soon as I bought iPhone 4 - I immediately ordered an otterbox case for it. It took over a month to arrive and when it finally did - I could immediately tell it did not offer the same amount of protection as the Otterbox for the 3Gs.

I'm constantly fighting the rubber covering -- if I pull it out of my pocket I have to push it back into place all the way around the phone.

The screen protector is better -- the bubbles are gone from the previous version. I like that.

The flaps that cover the charger port and headphone jack suck! They never stay in place and to get them to lock down is a pain. Debris can easily infiltrate into the case through these openings. I find that I have to take the phone completely out of the case and clean the phone and the case more often than I ever did with the other phone/otterbox.

Maybe they were just in a hurry to get a case that would fit the quick arrival of iPhone4. I hope the case is revamped and the thought is completed. I really need and want the kind of protection and rugged durability that the other case provided for 3Gs.

Regardless of what I hate about this case, it's still the BEST case that you can put on the new iPhone 4 if you're hard on your phone. Just wish it was better...

**** 02/12 update: I bought an AT&T case to get one fast at a discount and it works fine until the price drops on the universal case. The Verizon silent mode button is partially covered so if you use silent mode a lot and have big fingers, you might want to wait or buy from the manufacturer. The headphone jack doesn't align quite right with my Verizon phone, but just open the silicone port. And now this is a genuine five star review. I really like this case. It is sturdy and protective, looks stylish, feels comfortably grippy and it was easy to install the phone. Box directions are minimal but Otterbox has a simple video that takes you through it. *****

I just called Otterbox and a very nice lady in Customer Service says they have a universal design ready to fit both AT&T and Verizon phones, to be released 02/10/11. I suppose Amazon will have these as well. Hope they do all the same colors.

Important to know because the Verizon iPhone has some ports and controls in a slightly different place than its AT&T sister and this case would not fit both phones.

Just thought you should know. Glad I did some research before I bought this one. Yes, I know this isn't a real review but not everyone reads comments. At least I'm not one of those tiresome people who posts a one star review because something went wrong with the shipping.

Because you WILL drop your phone. Thats the slogan I would use if I was Otterbox. You will drop it, many times. It amazes me how many people think they are above dropping their phone. The iphone4 is a slippery devil and you must protect it. When I first saw the case in an AT&T store I knew that someone had finally got it right. However, at 50 bucks, I knew I could get it cheaper online (and did). The case is very attractive (the white is a bit more of a greyish white and I honestly think it improves the appearance of my already attractive Iphone 4. All the buttons work perfectly (I swear I think its more responsive now and it keeps debris and dust outta all the ports.

If you are willing to spend 10 bucks on a case, then you should be willing to spend more to truly protect your phone. This is the only solution that i've seen to keeping your expensive Iphone, clean, safe, and functioning at all times. The case does add size to the phone though and with the holster it adds a lot of bulk, but its not bad. This is a smart purchase, trust me. - Iphone4 Case - Iphone 4 Case - Defender - Iphone 4'

Pneumatic Floor Nailer - cpo bostitch, staplers

I purchased the MIIIFS stapler to lay approximately 1,700 sq. ft. of 3/4 inch red oak flooring in my new home. After installing well over 1,400 sq. ft. here are some of my observations:1) The tool makes it very easy for a novice to put down a nice, tight hardwood floor. If the boards are laying tight an easy swing of the mallet is all it takes to fully seat a staple (more on this later). If the board is warped the MIIIFS can stand up to a solid mallet smack without any trouble. The mallet's plastic face, by the way, does not show any signs of cracking so far.2) The stapler efficiently uses the its air so you do not need a big compressor. I have been using a 1.5 hp unit with a 6 gallon tank. Output is set at 85 psi. I doubt such a small compressor could supply two nailers simultaneously, but it handles one quite nicely.3) The stapler did develop a small air leak near the top shortly after I began using it. The amount of leaking is small (based on psi drop at the compressor) but does make a distracting noise. This leak does not affect the function or reliability.4) At your starting wall you need to face nail the flooring until you get about 6 inches from the wall. After that you'll have enough room to get the stapler into position.5) As you approach the far wall the stapler can be used up to the last 13 or 14 inches.6) As mentioned earlier the tool only requires an easy mallet smack. However, if you don't swing firmly enough the staple will not seat fully. This is usually caused by crowding against the far wall and not having enough room to swing the mallet.7) The firing knob is too stiff to actuate by hand reliably - the mallet is required. It would have been nice if there was a way to trigger the stapler by hand then you could use it much closer to the far wall.8) I have not had any problems with jamming. The unit I've been using has reliably shot every staple right down to the very last one in the magazine.9) I have heard some rumors of staple-style flooring nailers damaging the floor's tongue. After closely examining several hundred staples in oak I'd say that about 2 or 3 percent show any signs of tongue damage. Some of this infrequent damage is due to stapling through a knot or due to handling. Some is due to the MIIIFS. I'm not sure how this compares to nail-style nailers. Anytime you send a fastener through kiln dried hardwood you're bound to have some occassional splitting.Would I buy the MIIIFS again? You bet I would. Despite its few minor shortcomings this tool has saved me a LOT of work and the price is lower than other pnuematic nailers that I've looked at. Bostitch MIIIFS 1-1/2-Inch to 2-Inch Pneumatic Floor Stapler

As a professional building contractor I have tried several flooring tools, and can easily state that this is the best fastening system I have experienced for both unfinished and prefinished flooring. The staples hold better than cleat nails, and result in far less tongue splits as well. Surface marring and excessive tongue splitting are caused by improper or inexperienced operation of the tool, not by the tool itself.

I run a hardwood flooring company in Wyoming and have 3 of these units running all the time...They are durable and very dependable...we have been experiencing problems with the nuts and bolts holding the bottom plate on. Several of these bolts are in hard to reach areas and come loose and fall out several times a day. I would recommend this item to anyone, but I also would recommend that you buy a bottle of LockTite at the same time, And go through and LockTite all of the bolts, Other than that this is a awesome unit, We have one that is one of the very first air assist bostich nailers and it is still running strong. Good luck!

I purchased this nailer from Amazon to lay 3/4" hardwood flooring in several rooms in my house. I have since fired about 5000 staples through it without any problems whatsoever. This stapler is very well designed ergonomically and mechanically. The mallet is big and somewhat massive in weight but there is a purpose in that. It takes very little effort and just a slight tap to drive a staple because it is pneumatic. So if a board lays nice and straight, then a slight tap will suffice, but if you have a somewhat uncooperative piece of flooring, then you will appreciate the heft of the mallet because it will cause the most finicky of boards to come together and lay tightly. The handle is long and fits well in your hand. Consequently your not bent over as much. My first floor laid was oak and I've started my second which is brazillian cherry. This wood is extremely heavy and dense. This stapler does not care how hard the wood is, it just works and flawlessly at that. After all isn't that what you want from a tool, flawless performance!

I've installed thousands of feet of hardwood with the M111FS and it has, so far, worked flawlesly. The hammer activated model does a nicer job than the older trigger activated one. The light mallet blow required is just enough to drive the board being fastned tightly against the existing work for a tight joint and at the same time offering resistance against the driving mechanisum to insure uniform and propper seating of the staple.

I have received (2) Staplers and both units developed identical operating problem within (5) hours operating time. A small air leak developed upper section below rubber driving cap. Shortly after air leak developed 8 to 10 staples, units stopped operating.I have checked operating procedures and have found no problem. Have discussed problem with other users that had rented unit from Home Depot and was told they experienced absoultely no problem. Even after 20 hours of hard use, rented unit operated perfectly for them. I have request another unit and am in the process of shipping these defected (2) Units back. Also have e-mailed Bostitch and requested technical support.

If you have ever used a hard wood nailer that wasn't pnuematic, you'll want all that time back once you get your hands on one of these. Fast and easy to use. I've used one for years with no problems or regrets. - Bostitch - Staplers - B000f3i5zy - Cpo Bostitch'

Yoga Block - exercise, blocks

I have two yoga blocks at home, and this one is definitely the better of the two. It has more weight to it than my block from another big brand, which makes it a lot more stable to use for poses. I think I will replace my other block with another one of these. Hugger Mugger 4-Inch Foam Yoga Block

I purchased this particular brand of block because the place where I took yoga had Hugger Mugger in their classrooms.

I use blocks for alot of different positions, and I have found these to be very sturdy yet easy on the hands. They are also just the right height for me as well. - Yoga - Blocks - Exercise - Yoga Accessories'

Tomtom Dashboard Mount - gps dashboard mount, tomtom

After many hours of shopping for a GPS for my car I settled on a TomTom model XL 330 S. Being brand new to these navigation systems I didn't think I needed anything more sophisticated. I think I made a great choice and I'm very happy with the brand and model I chose. What I'm not nearly as happy with is the TomTom GPS Dashboard Mount for TomTom GPS Navigators I bought at the same time. It looks like it's made well enough, as it's heavy and substantial, but when you try to attach the GPS's suction cup to it to try to anchor the GPS to it, there is just no way! I removed the protective film that protects the surface on the mounting plate from scratching during shipment and cleaned the surface with an alcohol swab they include. I cleaned the suction cup on the back of the XL 330 and tried it again, no better result. I still am using the Dashboard Mount but now the plate which is attached to my GPS sits "under" the Mount as it is heavy enough to keep it from moving too far. A brick would serve the same purpose, but would scratch your dashboard and wouldn't look as nice. Then again the Dashboard Mount looks kind of goofy too. The Mount is not a good/wise investment. rob TomTom GPS Dashboard Mount for TomTom GPS Navigators

This works but I don't think it is made for the 4.3 inch GPS that I have. It must be for the smaller one because my GPS doesn't fit well into the center of the mount. It would probably work for the smaller one however. Seems like that should have been clarified before I purchased it.

The TomTom GPS Dashboard Mount seemed like a great idea... it provides a way for the GPS to sit on the dashboard and is easily removed when you park without anything permanent on the dash or window. The problem is the GPS keeps falling off the mount! The GPS has a suction cup on the bottom of the attachment but it does not stay (stick) on the mount...no matter how we did it. I finally bought industrial strength velcro which I attached to the suction cup and to the mount, which works! I shouldn't have had to do that. TomTom has had complaints about this before... they should be the one to fix it!

I love my dash mount for my Tom-Tom. Attachments to the windshield can leave that tell-tale "footprint", an invitation to a break in. I grab the dash mount, I can put the whole thing in my trunk, under the dash behind a bag, nobody knows there is a GPS in the car. It's easier to adjust for the proper viewing, and I find it much less obstructing than the windshield mounts.

The Amazon webpage for this item reads "This mount works with all TomTom products..." Not True! I have the TomTom GO 720 widescreen, and it is way too big for the dash mount. Now I have to go the trouble of returning it. Amazon should change the ad copy.

The TomTom attaches to this with suction and when it's cold, the suction doesn't work. It attaches initially but then the cold makes the rubbery plastic shrink and it falls off, often with the GPS unit still attached! I tossed the box or I would return it!

When it's not especially cold, it works but I haven't had the chance to try it in very warm weather. I suspect it will be ok but not being able to use it 1/4 of the year makes this a fail for me.

I bought one of these beanbag mounts as I am in a rental car around 3 times a month and I wanted my own GPS rather than pay to rent one. I have a TomTom Go-930 which is not small but which comes with a short fixed arm on a suction mount. When I tried to attach the mount to the beanbag - I found that the power cable which is on the underside of the Go930 actually protruded below the level of the beanbag. The plug rested on the beanbag base and the Go930 bounced off the mount.

I had 2 spare mounting disks - so I stuck them one on the other then onto the base of the beanbag. This lifted the base of the Go930 sufficiently that the beanbag now worked. It must be said that it works well and doesn't leave a suction cup 'ring' on the windshield that attracts car thieves.

It is amazing that the designers did not step through the TomTom product line checking such a basic design issue as whether the suction arms lifted the GPS high enough. This amounts to just careless design.

Finally - as I said at the beginning I bought the beanbag so that I could use the GPS on rental cars - only I fly to where I pick up the cars. TSA go into bad wobble-mode when they see this thing on their x-rays and call for a check on lane. If you do need to travel with it - carry it separately through security in its own tray like a laptop. It doesn't stop the wobble mode but at least they don't insist on emptying your carry-on.

Thanks to this gadget, I was able to overcome the problems created by TomTom's poorly designed mounting bracket that is far too short for the GPS and it's connector at the bottom. The bad design of the bracket that came with my TomTom, results in the GPS hitting the dash unless you tip it up at about a 45 degree angle, which sure makes it ridiculous to use and see.

TomTom gives you a disk for mounting their GPS on top of the dash where its easier to reach, etc., and less apt to fall (when it's stuck on the windshield), but the short arm on their bracket and range of the ball-joint makes it essentially impossible to mount it there! As a retired engineer, my opinion is that their bracket was a really dumb design. (I tried to point this out to TomTom but they did not really get back to me!)

This clever weighted dashboard mount allowed me to move the GPS closer to me to where I could hang the bottom of the GPS and power connection over the front edge of the dash, where no longer hit the top of the dash. This also brings the GPS a lot closer to you than when it's mounted on the windshield where its much easier to reach to use. Mounting the GPS makes it a lot less prone to fall off and get damaged since there is also less strain on the suction cup.

Another nice feature is that it makes it easy to pick up the whole

kaboodle and hide it somewhere when you park the car. GPS units are a great incentive target for car breakins, and hiding everything makes that a lot less likely. According to the police, you don't want to even leave the mounting bracket in plain site and this mount makes hiding it very easy.

My wife also uses this type of dashboard mount in her car with her GPS, where the windshield is even further away. She really loves it. - Gps Dashboard Mount - Tomtom - Tomtom Dashboard Mount - Gps Mount'

Educational Books For Children - kids, educational books for children

This is an excellent book for anyone who dreams of being a veterinarian, like me. The book talks about all types of different veterinarians, such as holistic, large animal, small animal, and more. This is a great book and a must read for anyone interested in going into the veterinary field. I Want to Be a Veterinarian

considering that i want to be a vet, i guess you could say that any book i read is "outstanding", but i really give this book nothing but loud cheers for the way it makes you almost "weak" i love animals so much and i always watch "Emergency Vets" on Animal Planet and i even volunteer at an animal hospital in La Jolla, Ca. i love being around animals, and my dream is to be a vet. i want to thank you for this outstanding book, i loved it!

I had to do a 100 note card report on a ocupation that you want to be, and you had to have three different sources. I did about 75% of the note cards using just this book. It's a great book to read and to do reports. Highly recomended.

I think that this book was not too bad, and is worth the buy, but it could be improved. Content wise it was not so bad, but it was the layout and presentation (amateur photographs) with heavily packed text. It looks like a scrapbook a child would throw together - and this may not necessarily be a bad thing considering the audience is children. I was really up in the air rating this one and would have given it a 4 if the organization was a bit cleaner. It deserves a 5 if it was organized a bit better "and" images were professional throughout - so you can see why I am saying it is worth a buy.

If your child has an interest in becoming a vet this is a recommendable book, along with others, and let them decide if the content within is worth a visit. - Animal Stories - Educational Books For Children - Kids - Veterinarians'

Air-compressor Accessories - tire gauges, air-compressor accessories

The problem is the lock-on chuck. The size and basic design make it hard (or not possable because of limited access) to use and it does not always lock on well. You spend time getting it on right.

For half the price there is a no-name brand version of this tire filler you can get here at Amazon or from Harbor Freight that has a compact clamp on chuck that is much easier to use and has no access issues. C-H chose the wrong chuck. Campbell Hausfeld MP6000 Tire Inflator with Gauge

This tire inflator is pretty neat. I got this because I had tires on some equipment where I needed a flexable hose to get to. My compressor uses type "M" fittings, so I had to buy a type "M" fitting in order to get it to connect to my compressor quick connects. Be sure you have what is needed before purchasing this item.

This thing was so easy to use, all I had to do is put the chuck on the tire stem and pull the lever on the chuck and I was ready to pump air pressure into the tire. I like the guage on this thing cause it tells me how much pressure is in the tire in real time! The guage will keep the pressure reading if you pull the chuck off the stem so if you want to write the pressure reading down on a piece of paper, then you can press a button on it to reset the guage!

It works really well and I am impressed with it, seems heavy duty and will last a long time! I think it was money well spent, just make sure you have the right fitting to attach it to your air compressor!

The inflator works well - push the chuck firmly onto the tire, and the guage shows the pressure. The trigger and air release buttons make it easy to get the right pressure, and I think that the guage is quite accurate. The only problem is that the spring-loaded clip that holds the chuck onto the valve stem of the tire can interfere with certain rims. The unit I received looks slightly different from the picture here. On mine, the lever for the chuck is mounted inward, that is, on the same side as the chuck air hole. Depending on how cramped the space around the valve stem is, you may not be able to release the lever with the chuck on the valve. To inflate the tires on my VW Passat, I had to flex the valve stem quite a bit to create the necessary clearance. Not a terminal problem, but one that could so easily be avoided by putting the lever on the back of the chuck, or as it is shown in the image here.

The gage could be better but it is OK. When cliped on to the tire stem, it does NOT always open the valve in teh stem all teh way and needs to be pushed on further and held by hand. There should be an adjustment for this but there are no instructions to tell you if or how you can make this adjustment.

Overlall it is OK

The chuck and clip design doesn't work on some of my tires; it won't go deep enough on the tire stem. I saw this mentioned in a few other reviews. Besides that, the spring in the clip slipped out yesterday and keeps popping out even after I disassembled/reassembled the clip - there is no detent to hold the spring's "foot" on the metal base so it slips out repeatedly . I'm going to buy another inflator...

Tire inflator works pretty well. I noticed that my unit was not like the one in the picture; it was the MP6000, not the MP6000AV -- the gauge only goes to 100psi and so it formatted differently than displayed. Not a problem for me as I'm only doing car tires but if you have a semi or RV tire this could be some concern. The gauge is a little hard to interpret since the graduations aren't very instinctive to just glance at. I didn't have any problem whatsoever with the tire clip that some have expressed concern wouldn't fit on smaller car tires; it fit fine on an 06 Chevy Aveo and an older 90s Nissan sentra and I can't see how it would cause problems for any other car as it's very slender. Perhaps I got the improved design? who knows. In any rate, the unit is of high quality, no leaks of any kind. I used to use a 12V cigarette plug inflator but that thing is crazy loud and takes forever just to fill up a few psi so I've happily retired it to just emergency use. Well worth the money to get a good inflator so you can check you tires frequently enough. With the rising cost of gas, even a few psi can make you lose mileage quickly. This unit basically pays for itself.

A breeze to use. The guage was easy to read and the bleed valve works a charm. Take the pain out of filling tires, buy one of these, use a quick-connect fitting and let your compressor go to work for you.

I got this to replace the wand-like inflator that came in a standard Craftsman tire inflation kit. I have used this once on all four tires and found it worked as advertised. It is easier to keep on the tire stem than the wand inflator. The clip didn't get in the way, though it may pull the hose out of alignment when set too far on the stem causing air to leak out of the tire. It is a nice feature, though, I don't have to hold it on the stem. The pressure gauge reading was high (but consistantly high) by about 2 pounds--easy to adjust for. Overall, a major improvement over my old inflator. I recommend it.

Having read the reviews critical of the chuck, I was a bit apprehensive about this unit. At this point I had spent about $400 on various compressors and tire inflators; my way-cool Craftsman rechargeable inflator has a clumsy chuck that loses its hold on the valve stem (and which stopped working after its valve-opening pin broke), so I had to use my larger compressor to inflate some tires for an autocross recently. But the chuck that came with that set-up was totally useless.

Which brings us to the C-H inflator.

I managed to turn the gauge so it's situated athwartships, plumbed on a quick connector, and fired up the compressor. Zip! The chuck slipped onto the first valve and stayed locked in place with no hissing air leaks! A few pulls on the trigger, and the gauge read 40 pounds. My Longacre gauge read 38 psi, which is just fine, since that's what I wanted. So zip, zip, zip, the rest of the tires were

brought up to "C-H 40" and I was good to go.

For thirty bucks (on sale for some reason) and free shipping, I'm more than satisfied. - Air-compressor Accessories - Tire Gauges - Campbell Hausfeld - Tire Pressure Gauges'

Mens Clothing - brown, belts

this is a really nice belt from Dickies. i ended up having to return it though, because the sizing runs pretty small. i wear size 35 jeans, and 38 for belts, just to have some extra room. got this belt and was stoked because it looked great. tried it on and it was way small. had a hard time getting it on using the first hole (normally i'm about 3 holes in). sized 38, but felt more like it was a 34 or something. Dickies Men's 40Mm Bridle With Double Row Stitch Belt,Black,38

This belt is very durable and good quality. I don't really knowing anything about how belt sizing works, but I wear size 34 waist pants and decided to get size 36 belt just to be safe. For whatever reason this belt only fits on the very last hole.

I'm not sure if there is a sizing problem or I just need to learn how belt sizes run, but that is the reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5.

I've ordered this belt because I expected Dickies robust quality. What I get is a belt which was not even leather and started tearing at the eyelits and after the 4th use it tore. I inspected the belt and tore it like paper with absolutely no effort.

Save your money and don't buy!

I bought this belt after my other frayed and started coming apart due to several years of use. I've had this belt for less than 6 months and it has broken. After the first two weeks of wearing it, there were signs that the eyelet was tearing. After a month the belt was beginning to be ripped apart. Luckily, I lost some weight so I could fit in a different eyelet. Same thing repeated itself with this eyelet after a month. I'm just waiting for the day that I put it on and it snaps. I'll have to give it credit for lasting this long but no where near what I wanted.

Paying more for quality will always win out. After buying another brand based solely on price and seeing it deteriorate over a period of time, should give one thought, but it doesn't. It really takes a while to see the difference in quality and hopefully will aid to make better choices later. - Kenneth Cole - Brown - Belts - 40mm'

The plastic faucet adapter that comes with Python started to be stripped after the first usage! As a result there would be leaks at the faucet when it was used and I had to wrap a rag around it to absorb the water. I have had this metal adapter now for a month. No leaks. Digital Voice Recorders - mac compatible, sony

I purchased the Sony ICD-PX820 to record meetings. My first use was in a conference room about 20x35 ft. Eight people around a large table. The recorder was placed at one end. Ninety (90) minutes of recording on HQ, noise reduction, high sensitivity. Sound quality was amazing. At the meeting I had trouble hearing some softer voices. Sound quality was reasonably good from the built-in speaker. Playback on my laptop was crystal clear. Headphones sound great too. Softer voices came in clearly. 90 Minutes at HQ created a 80mb mp3 file.

Why I bought this recorder and think it is excellent:

1. Device records in MP3 format.

2. Connects to PC via USB.

3. Drag and Drop files directly to PC in Windows explorer.

4. 4 Quality Levels SHQ, HQ, SP, LP.

5. Record time SHQ 22+ hrs, HQ 33+ hrs, SP 89+ hrs, LP 535+ hrs.

5. Voice Activated Recording (Starts recording when there is sound, stops when there is no sound)

6. Noise reduction setting eliminates background noise like rustling papers.

7. High sensitivity for meetings, Low sensitivity for dictation.

8. Adjustable speed playback.

9. Sturdy Build quality.

Basic use is very easy. The buttons and interface are easy to use and understand. I was comfortable using the recorder after I played around with it for about 5 minutes. It took another few minutes to get familiar with the menu navigation. I would recommend testing the settings before you need to use them.

I have not tried the included voice editing software.

I am very pleased with my purchase. This is an excellent value. Sony ICD-PX820 Digital Voice Recorder (Black)

I purchased this for my wife who is a technophobe and who wanted something easy to use. She was able to figure out how to record memos on this with zero prompting from me.

So I'm rating this 5 stars simply for the following reasons:

-No nonsense controls/interface

-When plugged into the PC (or Mac!), shows up as a generic Flash drive

-Files are MP3 format

-Generous capacity

It really could not be any easier to use and I've seen a lot of terrible gadgets in my day. I really appreciate the fact that no software installation is necessary to get files off of it and the files are a very portable format (MP3). And since it's a generic Flash drive, you can use it like a regular Flash drive for file transport. I put a text file on it with basic contact info in case it ever gets lost.

I can't really vouch for the quality of the recordings since we haven't used it in a wide variety of circumstances yet, but the one use so far was of a seminar in a large auditorium and, given the conditions, it did a fine job of it (at the highest quality setting).

If you are looking for a reasonably priced voice recorder that records in a high quality MP3 format, look no further. (Official release date of February/2010) Sony's new SHQ mode (Super High Quality) can record an MP3 file at 192 kbps, with a frequency range of 75Hz - 20,000Hz, and at a sampling rate of 44.1 kHz. And for a voice recorder, those are EXCELLENT audio specs! According to the manual, the 2 GB of memory in this unit will hold approximately 22-hours of recording time in this SHQ mode, with a rated 30-hours of battery life in this same SHQ recording mode.

As a self-proclaimed "audiophile", 192 kbps has forever been my MP3 sweet-spot for music (even back when 128 kbps songs were all the rage). To me, 192 kbps has always been the perfect compromise between small file size & high quality audio, so I am VERY pleased to see that there is finally an affordable voice recorder with this high quality recording option. And by the way, these recorded files are just like any other MP3 file, which means they can be dropped right into an iPod's Playlist Folder.

My 2nd favorite feature is its built-in "recording buffer". When you set the unit to record in VOR (Voice Operated Recording) and there is no sound for a few seconds, it will automatically "pause" the recording, and then automatically resume the recording when it detects another sound (or spoken word). What the recording buffer does, is that whenever the recording resumes (in a lecture for example), it will record "almost all" of the first syllable of the first spoken word. In comparison, my previous Olympus voice recorder would usually MISS the WHOLE first word after a recording pause. As a result, every sentence after a recording pause usually began with a missing word, which I always found a bit irritating. This Sony recorder will not do that.

Though I am not as big of a Sony fan as I used to be in years past, you really can't go wrong with this voice recorder, and I highly recommend it. Simply put, this is a high quality voice recorder that will last you for many years, and is one that you will not need to upgrade with newer models.

PROS:

* Has a SHQ (Super High Quality) recording option which records at 192 kbps with a wide frequency range.

* The VOR (Voice Operated Recording) mode records every word spoken, which is particularly helpful when recording important lectures with lots of "pauses".

* Has a DPC (Digital Pitch Control) mode which allows playback of a the speaker's voice at any speed without changing the "pitch" of their original voice. This is good for slowly writing down notes from a recorded lecture.

* Has a very user-friendly button interface which could not have been designed better, (an area in which Sony has always excelled at). It's the perfect compromise between full functionality & user-friendly simplicity.

* The optional software is not buggy on my XP computer, and has a nice interface. It's a simple screen that allows easy access to all of the unit's features.

CONS:

* Requiring 2 AAA batteries (instead of just 1) may indeed increase the unit's recording time, but it makes this recorder a bit on the bulky side. In other words, I would not label this as a "slim line" voice recorder. As odd as this may sound, the above front/angled picture (the only picture at the time of this review) makes this recorder appear a lot slimmer than it actually is. The total width is actually 3/4" thick. The reason for the picture being deceptive is because the item's extended battery pack tapers inward (towards the back), so on a front-angled picture you don't see the true thickness. Not really a big deal, but it's worth mentioning.

UPDATE: The original "angled" photo is now gone from this site, and has now been replaced with 2 straight-forward front & back photos. A reviewer posted the helpful "back" photo of the recorder. Thanks "Delta"! This photo helps show the added thickness that I "attempted" to explain in my review. The battery pack first tapers inward, then extends outward to add a "bump" of thickness. Again, not a big deal. - Mac Compatible - Sony - Digital Voice Recorders - Voice Recorder'

Sony Cybershot - sony cybershot, sony battery

so far so good... and i wasnt convinced that it was even going to work based on the price--or worse, somehow scramble my nice sony camera. but i took a chance and so far its works great, even charges the original sony battery. the included battery does have an interesting feature, and gives an approximate time remaining for the battery life. i dont feel that it lasts longer or shorter than the original sony--both of them, in my opinion, peter out far too quickly (perhaps i should stop reviewing every single picture on the display... :) all in all, im satisfied. havent tried to charge it in the car, but may not use that feature too much anyway. will update this review if something goes awry, but as of now, so far so good. and very fast shipping, too. Battery + Charger for Sony CyberShot DSC-T2 DSC-T200 DSC-T300 DSC-T500 DSC-T70 DSC-T700 DSC-T90 DSC-T900 InfoLithium Type D NP-FD1 NP-BD1 NPFD1 NPBD1 + car plug

I bought this for TX1 and it works great. Actually it works better than the original battery. Sony TX1 tell me how much time left on this battery, but not for the original battery! With the car charger, I can charge the battery anytime I want to. Good price, good product.

I needed a spare battery for going on vacation as those of you with the Sony T-series Cybershot cameras know, the battery life is not stellar. For a fraction of the price of buying a battery thru a retail source this package gives you a better battery, and a charger for either home or car.

The battery does fit a little more snug that the factory battery but it is not an issue. the battery does seem to be a true "Info-Lithium" as the camera provides a minutes remaining display. Oddly, the factory battery that came with the camera does not have this feature.

Would highly recommend this battery and charger package.

The battery charger is made of good quality plastic, it has two advantages over the charger that came with my Sony Cybershot DSC-T90.

1: It can be plugged into a car power outlet as well as a standard household socket.

2: The casing has a light that turns from red to green when your battery is fully charged.

The battery that comes with this charger also has an advantage over the stock battery in that it shows an estimate of battery charge in minutes next to the battery icon on the LCD display.

I am very pleased with this purchase.

This battery does not work in my Cybershot DSC T70. After a few moments of use a screen comes up saying only for use with compatible batteries. Clearly the battery could work, but the firmware is trained to reject it. Perhaps this is not true of every Camera, but it is true of this one. DO NOT BUY if you have a T70. - Good Value - Sony Battery - Sony Cybershot'

Art Supplies - marker set, art

These are great markers/pens - I'm on my third set, so obviously I like them - but there are a few caveats. As a mixed media artist, I've found several reasons to be cautious of these markers if you are using them for more permanent or "fine" art purposes.

For just coloring or for kids, these are absolutely perfect. These are extremely vibrant, the ink lasts forever, they don't dry out quickly if you leave a cap off, they travel very well, the color selection is fantastic, and they are priced extremely well.

If, however, you are using them for a mixed media project - or will be using more than one technique on your project - you will run into some problems. (Then again, these aren't touted as "fine art" markers - or priced as such.) The colors are great - but filling in large spaces will be problematic because they are "streaky". They leave a very definite line with each stroke - so you will end up with a project that looks like you colored it in first grade. Secondly, altho these start out with a fantastic nib, it degrades quickly - and you wind up with a lot of little "fuzzies", fine "hairs" and the tip of the nib becomes "floppy" even tho the rest of the nib remains firm. This causes problems when trying to fill in small spaces, or writing. (Leaves a lot of tiny stray marks.)

Also, these are definitely not waterproof - or water resistant. One drop of water will destroy whatever you've colored. Since water will leave a distinct mark on the paper, I thought maybe they would work well if blended with water. I colored and then used a waterbrush and a regular brush with a little water, to try to blend the "streaks" away. NOT a good idea. You just wind up with a mess. (They aren't advertised for this use - but I thought it might work.)

The other issue with these is the color fastness. The colors fade and wash out over time. I used them in one of my moleskin journals - and several years later, the colors have disintegrated a lot. They weren't exposed to sunlight (the journal was closed and on a bookshelf) - so I don't know what the level of acidity is...but I'm guessing it's on the higher end. (Which strikes these for scrapbooks, just FYI.)

I'm not getting rid of mine anytime soon - I love to use these for adding color to sketches, doodling, coloring with my kids, lending to my kids for school projects, making garage sale signs, etc. I just wouldn't use these in any of my art projects or swaps. (I live in a really dry climate and worry the color breakdown would be worse somewhere humid.) Definitely not for work that will be sold.

You won't waste money with these - they are great marker/pens for around the house...for drawing or coloring at school or using at home, these are total perfection! If, on the other hand, you are looking for a good "art marker" or "art pen", pass on these. These will be a huge disappointment - and there are much, much better options out there. Pentel Color Pen Set, Set of 36 Assorted Colors (S360-36)

I also have to agree with the other posters when saying these markers last forever. I was given some as a teen about 25 years ago and they still work great. I always knew they were superb markers, but now as a mother/teacher I realize just how wonderful they are! You will not regret buying these for sure. Honestly, they run circles around Crayola and other leading brands most people buy today.

This is a sturdy set of pens, in nice secondary packaging. I bought two sets - one for my son, the other for my daughter, they're enjoying them. I've used them to color in some pages of the kids' coloring books, and see two shortcomings. First, the amount of ink is inconsistent from pen to pen - some flow very heavy ink, others much lighter. This results in inconsistent color depth in the strokes. The second shortcoming is the color of the pen's plastic often poorly matches the color of the pen's ink. For example, what looks like a dark green pen from the color of the plastic, has ink that flows very close to black. Many other colors vary greatly from plastic to ink. When these pens need replacing, I'll try a different set for comparison.

I have purchased several brands of markers including Staedtler, OfficeMax metallic, TUL ultra fine, Bic Mark it fine point, and the Pentel Color Pen Set. Of all these brands I've used, & I have used them a lot, the Pentel brand is the worse one of the lot. When I contacted the Pentel company via their online web site to ask how I can return the whole set, since they are guaranteed, there was no response whatsoever. On the other hand, I returned one of the Bic Mark it pens for replacement & I not only received my new pen in short order they also threw in several $1 off coupons for future Bic purchases! Now, I ask, who would you do business with in the future? It's a no brainer.

I have been using these Pentel markers for more than 20 years now. Yes, I've gone through a few sets in that time. They do last nearly forever, do not dry out, and the colors are vivid and true. And when I say they don't dry out, I mean it! I travel with a set of these and a couple of weeks on the road, in and out of steaming hot vehicles in the summer, doesn't even phase these gems! A terrific buy for the money! - Markers - Marker Set - Pentel - Art'

Play Vehicles - bruder, play vehicles

This is a great forklift. Its two forks can slide back and forth to different widths, and the mast can slide up and down as well as tilt the forks up (crucial if you want to actually lift anything with it). It also has a little knob on the back for turning the wheels, but my boys (ages 4 and 2 1/2) didn't play with that part too much. The forks aren't the sturdiest ever (ours broke when the forklift fell on a hard floor), but replacements are available from the manufacturer's website very cheaply (with free shipping). The pallets are fun to lift and can carry small toys. Bruder Toys Linde H30D fork Lift with Pallet

The Bruder Fork Lift is a great idea, but is very poor quality. The forks are not durable and break easily leaving a very sad and disappointed child. The forks need more durability since they are marketed for small children. My grandson loves construction vehicles and was very excited with the fork lift until one of the forks broke. Purchasers should receive replacement or refund. I would never again purchase a Bruder product.

this product is awsome!! looks exactly like the real thing soo cool my son is going to LOVE it, hisdad drives one at work and he says it is a perfect replica! transaction was smooth and everything is perfect thank you!

My grandson is three and a half and loves forklifts. This one looks real, works great, is rugged and durable, and just all around what I've come to expect from Bruder. It was packaged well, and arrived on time.

Well forks slide alright. Within a day of getting it one fork slid right off and got lost. Now I have to order replacement forks probably from Germany! Its fine to make them moveable but why do they need to slide off? Doesn't make sense, at least put a stop at the ends or something.

This is a great toy for kids to play with while expanding their creativeity and imagination while learning eye-hand cordation. This toy is made of plastic, and the first one we received had one of the forks broke but it was replaced by the toy company that we ordered it from. We would recomend it for any child that you want to be more active and learn to apply any of the skills mentioned earlier.

My 4 year old absolutley loves this forklift. The forks move up and down with ease. The only downfall is that the forks can slide off of the sides if spread too far apart. Other than that, this toy is great. - Play Vehicles - Construction - Bruder - Forklift'
