Mini Stapler - stapler

This is a great portable stapler that goes everywhere with me in my backpack. The mechanism is basically a human powered staple gun, so there's no struggling to force the staple through. It is rated at 12 sheets of paper, but I've found from testing that it will go through approximately 20 sheets of standard copy paper. It takes regular staples.

Highly recommended. I find it invaluable on a daily basis in grad school. PaperPro Nano Mini Stapler, Black and Gray (1801)

This little stapler is powerful, doesn't clutter the desktop, is easy to reload and works well for me even though I have large hands. I use it to keep the pages in order for small documents. It even has the powerful spring action of a much larger stapler, making it effortless to bind several pages. PaperPro has a desktop winner here! - Stapler'

Portable Cd Player - stylish, disappointing

We have this CD player in our kitchen so that my toddler and I can enjoy his favorite tunes while I'm making dinner or whatnot. He climbs onto the counter and gives this stereo such abuse, and touches all the parts you're never supposed to touch on a CD player, and yet it still works perfectly! I'm really impressed by this machine. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that is does make a quiet electronic "hum" when it's plugged in. It doesn't interfere with the quality of the music at all. But if you're in the room and all else is quiet, you'll notice it. For this reason, we keep it unplugged when we're not playing a CD. Otherwise this CD player is great! Coby CX-CD241 Portable CD Player with AM/FM Stereo Tuner, Red

My experience with this boombox was horrible. I bought it, it worked fine for the first 4 days, then the cd player got messed up. It wouldn't load my cds, instead, the cds would spin out of control in the player. This boombox is not recommended.

When I was christmas shopping, I thought this looked really cute, and I figured, "Hey, it's cheap, and looks good." So I bought it. It worked pretty well for the first couple of days, and then the CD playing system on it just decided to stop working. I checked all things that I might have possibly done wrong, but I didn't find any. When you try to load the CD, it doesn't let you play anything. I would not recomend this product for whoever wants to buy it, because it did not work like I wanted it to, and it made a pretty lousy Christmas present after I found out it had broken. DON'T BUY THIS.

Alas, it makes a very noticeable hum even when it's OFF! I have to unplug it if I want the noise to stop. Very disappointing.

But if size matters to you, it's worth mentioning that it's surprisingly small, especially in comparison to other portable stereos. It is easy to carry and fits anywhere.

(edit dec08.2006: and now it's incredibly fickle, frequently interrupting a cd with "ERR" or not even playing it at all. i want to replace it, but where are all the red cd players?)

I should have read the reviews closer myself before buying this....mine just inexplicably quit working after only having it a few months. Dont buy this piece of junk...there is a reason it is priced cheap.

I bought this product so my 3 year old son could listen to music before going to sleep in his room. It is terrible. There is a constant hum as long as it is plugged in. The volume of the hum depends on how the power cord is angled at the back of the unit. The CD player never worked right. After a few songs there is a "ER" message on the screen. Most of the time I can't even get it to play a CD. I'm very disappointed. Don't buy this product.

Sadly we received the product broken. It wouldn't play beyond the half way mark of any cd. In requesting a replacement the company returned the money without any comunication. It was rather strange but they refunded the money so one cant't complain.

I know this was not the top of the line radio, but I only needed it to play children's cds for my infant son. The cd player part is broken it will not play cds. The radio part works. However, that is not why I purchased the radio. Would not recommend to anyone. - Stylish - Boombox - Disappointing - Portable Cd Player'

Makita Charger - makita, battery packs

I have owned a set of Makita tools with the LXT batteries for a couple years now and I have noticed absolutely zero power loss or any other problems. I use them quite regularly whether building concrete forms, decks, remodels, etc. I can think of three things that may be happening to the batteries of those who have commented on bad performance or longevity; (1) Occasionally, batteries can be bad from the factory (I have yet to own a milwaukee tool with the new "V" or "M" series battery that holds up past a few months. I have both V28 and M12, and have had ALL packs replaced) (2) It is possible to have a bad charger which is damaging the batteries itself, or (3) Perhaps the users are taking them all the way to the point of stalling and complete discharge, and for that the batteries are truly not made to do. It is best that once you notice the battery pack is wearing down, to grab a fresh one and put the discharged on the charger to cool down and refresh. Also, if the batteries are being stored for most of their life, it is best to keep the charger plugged in and rotate batteries through it to keep everything active and refreshed. Lithium batteries have computer chips and sophisticated circuitry, allowing them to constantly be charged without damage. Ni-Cad on the other hand are not supposed to be charged over and over again because they typically have memory effects and lifetime charging limits. It is best to mostly, not completely, discharge a Ni-Cad before replacing back onto the charger. Because a consumer only has ultimate control of this last variable, it is a good idea to read the owners manual and find out what the manufacturer thinks is best operating practices. Only those who are using the batteries and tools know how they are being treated, and you may very well be doing everything right and not fall into this third category. Being that my kit is from a couple years ago, and my newest battery packs (purchased just for continued use because I have many LXT tools) were purchased last year sometime, it is possible that the newer batteries are of a lesser quality, and that would be unfortunate. What I can say is this; I own many Dewalt tools, which I have only had to replace a couple Ni-Cad battery packs in the past 5 years. (Dewalt tools are mostly made in Mexico) I have owned MANY Milwaukee tools in which their Ni-Cads held up pretty well, but their Li-Ion line is absolute crap. Several years ago when their tools were still made in the US, their quality was impeccable. Their tools are now made completely in China. (Yes, many of the Makitas are also) I own several Bosch as well, and their batteries and tools are right up there with Makita's quality. As far as Skil, Black and Decker, and any other cheaper or knock-off brand goes, I would personally never purchase them. For one, you are supporting China, and secondly you would be purchasing a tool that is undependable. Hitachi has an excellent warranty, and makes excellent air nailers, however I'm unsure of the quality you may find in their power tools, both corded and cordless. I hope this was helpful. Makita BL1830 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Battery

Really, these batteries provide seemingly endless power. They hold their charge for weeks with very little loss. I can use one battery for drilling and driving throughout an entire (moderately sized) project. They are extremely lightweight and charge in twenty minutes or less usually (in hot weather it takes longer). All three of mine slide on and off easily, with no issues of binding or falling off. With all the praise comes a VERY important caveat. DO NOT run these batteries into the ground. The instructions state that as soon as you notice a loss of power, stop and charge. If you over-discharge Li-Ion batteries, you can seriously degrade the life of the battery. These batteries are 1/3 cheaper on Amazon.com than at the home centers, so buy from here! Also, only the cells themselves are made in Japan, all other parts are made and final assembly is in China.

I love the drill but the battery life is a real problem. I had both original packs replaced under warranty when the charger reported them bad. Now one of the replacements is flashing bad on the charger. These have been cycled maybe a dozen times. I'll be complaining to Makita and also reporting this on the various woodworking groups I support.

I replaced a 14.4 Milwaukee NiCad with a Makita LXT and noticed that my old Milwaukee NiCads outlasted these in terms of longevity. Run time is solid, but lifespan is short. Two dead after one year, I'm only a homeowner. I've only done a few lengthy jobs such as putting cement board down in a 10x20 room, and building a deck with these, in addition to the other basic tasks of drywall, and other light construction needs. Love the light weight though. Now, I need new ones. Somewhat disappointing.

I went ahead and invested in a pair of these batteries despite the mixed reviews, figuring I'd at least get a year out of them with the warranty. So far, they've performed just fine, even on tools that are supposed to only use the BL1830. I mostly use them on the BHP454 drill (note: this is one of the tools that's keyed for the 1830 pack) and BTD141 impact driver when I'm not going to be using them for long, so the decreased runtime doesn't bother me. I also use them on the angle grinder and recip saw (after removing the little tab on the tools) for light work in tight spaces. I wouldn't want them to be my only batteries, but they're a great addition to a couple of the larger batteries if you have a few tools that can use them.

These slim packs are very handy on the drill, impact, and flashlight- the lighter weight and smaller size are noticeable, especially with the smaller (BDF/BHP452) drills. However, buyer beware when it comes to using them on the 'heavier' tools, as they are keyed for the larger batteries because they can draw more current than these smaller batteries can provide without damaging the cells. So you probably shouldn't slap one of these on your circular saw and go ripping 2x12s all day, or you'll kill the pack very quickly. Makita isn't trying to screw you into buying more batteries, they're trying to make sure you don't kill your batteries.

Another note, considering how many complaints of defective packs there are: don't run these batteries down to nothing, and try not to store them fully charged. Running them into the ground is a sure way to damage the cells, and I've read estimates of up to 20%/year capacity loss for a fully-charged pack, compared to as low as 2%/year for a pack stored @ 40% charge.

And of course, like any cordless tool/battery purchase- shop your options before buying batteries separately. I got the BHP452HW kit for only $50 more than 2 batteries. That's a cheap, easy way to have a spare drill or driver and charger for around the house, or to sell to recoup the extra cost.

I'm knocking off one star because Makita doesn't do a good job of letting people know that these slim packs only work on certain tools- and not very many, either. That's been a complaint for years now, and it's still not mentioned anywhere in their literature or website- even my local Makita dealer didn't know they weren't compatible with all LXT tools. It's not like it's standard practice- Bosch's and Milwaukee's slim packs fit their entire lineup, AFAIK. - Lithium-ion - Makita - Battery Packs - Lithium Battery'

Flat Panel Wall Mount

I was skeptical of this mount. Why should this be so cheap compared to other mounting kits? I ordered one (due to the price), and prepared to return it if I did not think the mount could handle the weight of the 52" LCD TV (Samsung).

Once I got it, I understood the cost. Good low-cost design and built with solid heavy duty steel.

- Two horizontal bars are load-bearing, and for proper VESA spacing, they have to be parallel and relative distance must be in the right tolerances. These are made of solid steel.

- Two vertical bars (in the wall mount) are flimsey, and that's ok. it should be solid enough make a rectangle box w/ square angles. That's it.

- Two vertical mounting (to the TV) brackets are of heavy duty metal. Making this in to two parts (not one), reduction of material, but also allows free horizontal adjustment on the TV mount.

- By doing the above, the kit is small, uses less metal (and reduce shipping and material waste).

Positives

---------

1. Good solid and heavy duty construction.

2. Good value (low-cost). Paid less than $ 25 including shipping.

3. Easy install. Took 15 min to figure out the instruction (which is not totally clear), and 10~15 min to install and ready to watch.

4. built-in level worked well during marking of mouting holes on the wall --I tested w/ my own, and was consistent.

5. Once the mounted on the wall, and bracket on TV, you could adjust horizontal TV placement on the mount, just by sliding few inches left or right, post install. I expect this to be safe and true if the wall mount is directly screwed into the wall studs. I do not expect dry-wall install without the use of the studs to handle such adjustment.

6. The brackets on TV could also be used to adjust vertical TV placement by a few inches up and down. But for this one, you'll need to lift TV off the bracket and adjust and pull back :-).

7. There is a reasonable space (I would say, just right) from the wall to the TV to get cables/connectors through WITHOUT using any expensive 90 degree connectors. Plenty of space between two horizontal bars to put extra power outlet and data HDMI cable outlet to hide all the cables.

8. This supports tilt up/down, and works well. Amazon product description does not make it clear.

Negatives

---------

1. Just one. Clearer instruction so that I do not need to spend 15 min figuring things out. One could learn a lot form IKEA :-).

2. Packing/Packaging -- Not necessarily Cheetah Mount issue -- mine came w/o missing parts, although I noticed torn cardboard box edges and some parts COULD have been lost during shipping. Either double box, or have Cheetah use heavier box stock.

Helpful Hints & Comments

-------------------------

1. DO NOT forget to tighten the screws (2) on the bottom horizontal bars AFTER TV is placed on the wall mount -- especially if you are in CA w/ quake. This is what prevents TV falling off the mount accidentally. But do not over-tighten (you are NOT securing from left-to-right movement).

2. Very happy w/ my purchase. Will get one more for my other TV. Cheetah Mounts APTMM2B Flat Screen TV Wall Mount Bracket, uses Universal Tilt Mount 32-55" - Plasma, LED, LCD TV Wall Mounts Mounting Brackets

The Cheetah mount is an incredible value. The mount is amazingly sturdy and very well built. It took me about 30 minutes to assemble the parts out of the box. Then another hour to mount the TV to the brick above our fireplace. I used 4 Quicktap blue masonry anchors to attach the mount to the wall, and it is so secure I could probably hang from the TV itself.

I was also pleased to find that the mount included all of the hardware (bolts, washers, spacers) that you would need to mount almost any VESA compatible flat panel. Our TV is a 52 inch Samsung (750 series) and the bolts I needed were included.

Overall, a great buy.

All I have to say is what a deal. I've always read consumer reviews for anything I've bought, but never felt compelled to write a review until now. This product is so cheap for what you get. Any complaints about the product itself lead me to question their expectations. I've learned a lot about consumer reviews by this product. People are whiners. This mount took me less than 1/2 hr to put up and it's rock solid. I saved $150 over a comparable mount at Best Buy! I'm pumped!

I took a chance, against my better judgment. I asked myself how can a $25 mount compare to a $300 mount? I have 2 girls and I would totally shoot myself if my 52" Sony Bravia (W series) ever fell on one of them. Well, I got this mount and I was already impressed. It is made of this extremely dense, slightly bumpy, but smooth to the touch metal. I mounted the first part to the wall and had my dad, who has owned his own construction company, to test it out. He approved by hanging his 180 lb body from it.

I did have to take a trip to Lowes because the screws to the TV were too long (20 thread). I bought 16 thread and added 2 lock washers, per screw, that already came with the mount. I also spent $30 on a good stud center finder because I wasn't going to mess around.

I feel very confident with this mount and I am very happy to have saved a bunch of money. If you buy this mount, just take your time, watch a few you tube videos about hanging a TV, and use common sense.

I ordered this mount after doing all kinds of research on mounts out there for my new Toshiba 37" - the reviews were good, and the price even better. And, as you know by now, one could easily pay $300 for a tilt mount if they didn't know any better and listened to the folks at best buy.

Missing Part:

I ordered on a Friday, and it arrived the following Thursday. The box was tattered and looked like it had been through a war. It was obviously a returned item, as the contents (hardware, etc) was not organized in any way. Also, there was a major piece missing from the kit that would keep me from being able to mount the TV over the weekend. very disappointing. Now, i don't mind getting someone's returned item, as long as all the parts are there. It drives me crazy to know that Cheetah resold this mount without first checking to make sure everything was there. On Friday evening, i submitted a 'problem' through amazon to the seller - i was sure this was going to go unresolved and i would have to find another solution. On Saturday, low and behold, i received a phone call from a rep at Cheetah who said he would send out the part, 2-day air, first thing Monday morning.

Lost, i'm sure:

On Thursday, i call the Cheetah rep back and tell him that I haven't rec'd the part yet. he tells me that UPS lost it in the shipping and he just sent another one. You know what, just tell the truth - you forgot to send it Monday. Just don't lie - it looks awful. Now, i should get it Monday and another weekend is lost.

Wrong part:

Monday comes and the package arrives FedEx. Wrong part! I had made it crystal clear which part was missing and he seemed to know exactly which one it was. I called him up and he blamed his warehouse people and said that he would go to the warehouse himself and watch the staff member place the correct part in the bag and slap the mailing sticker on there. oy - this is getting ridiculous.

Got it:

The correct part came on Wednesday and i'm good to go. I installed it on Sunday and it went up without any problems and I'm happy. the mount is sturdy, adjusts horizontally very easily, and was simple to install. The built in level is wrong, so use your own.

I am happy with the end result at the price i paid. The effort it took me to get the mount and all it's pieces was insane, but i must say that the people at Cheetah mounts were nothing but nice and responsive.'

Yoga Bolster

This bolster does not disappoint. Squishes just the right amount, stays firm and I *love* the handle on the side. It's precisely the kind recommended in Iyengar's books, too. I've had the two I've bought for about a year and have returned to buy more as gifts! YogaAccessories (TM) Supportive Round Cotton Yoga Bolster - Maroon

I bought this bolster to go with the vinyasa dvd I purchased. There were many poses that required a bolster. I did a ton of research and found that this bolster from yoga accessories was priced the best and when I received it I was so happy that the quality was the best too. I can't imagine doing a vinyasa class without it and Yoga Accessories certainly offers the best prices and quality.

This product is exactly the same as more expensive bolsters, but at nearly half the cost. For anyone considering buying a round cotton yoga bolster, strongly consider buying this one, before spending an additional $30, 40 or even $50 on another product with a "brand name".

Received bolster, however, when I took off the cover to wash the stitching pulled in the zipper area. Had to hand sew the stitching.

For over $40 should be better quality. Only reason why I'm not returning is due to hassle of shipping the item.

Probably the reason why the stitching rips off. Disappointed.

The actual bolster is fine. However the cover is rather a tight fit. I noticed this when I removed it for washing. I washed it in cold water and I am guessing it must have shrunk a little because when we tried to put it back on the bolster, the fabric tore and the zipper came off. I've ordered a replacement cover ... because the bolster is only a month old. I guess I will simply just have to keep wiping it down rather than removing it to wash it ... ugh

I'm extremely pleased by these bolsters in navy. They are sturdy, have no odor, and looking at the stitching, I think it will last. I've only used them lightly so far (once a week for a month). An improvement would be a softer fabric but, I'd rather pay $29 than $59 (which is what I paid for a similar bolster with a softer fabric). As for colors, I did send back the purple and the maroon. Each were sturdy like the navy but, the purple was garish and the maroon looked more like rust to me. The navy is boring but, inoffensive. The price on these has crept up to $33 but, I think I'll still buy more because I can't find a better deal on something solidly built and not ugly.

This is much wider in diameter than I thought, but it feels good when I lay on it... firm and soft at the same time. It is starting to flatten, less of a circle, more of a square. Not sure if that's typical for bolsters.'

Galaxy S - galaxy s, seidio

I was worried about getting this case as I usually only buy something on Amazon if it has numerous reviews. However, I was in desperate need for one (Sprint ones suck and don't have any girly colors), and this purple color looked great. Let me tell you, it is a great case. Fits perfectly, however, it does make your phone a little bulky (but it already is without the case anyways), so it won't be able to fit in your pocket. I never did that, but some people do. All keys are totally accessible and I feel as though it is protected very well. GREAT CASE! Seidio SURFACE Case for the Samsung Epic 4G -1 Pack - Case-Retail Packaging (Amethyst)

And if you're looking for a case for the Epic, you would have bought and given it a 5 star anyways.

The Epic has a slide out keyboard, that makes design and fit of a case kinda unnecessary or difficult, because there is maybe 1/10 of an inch of real estate to attach something; and that is why there aren't that many manufacturers making it, and making it with beauty and integrity.

It is expensive because it is just a piece of thin plastic, it is unnecessary because it looks like an extra back cover of the phone (but better quality), but if you love your gadgets like I do, you'll buy it regardless because:

1-It adds an extra layer of protection

2-It looks nice and cool

3-It is easier to hold than the bare case

4-The surface is scratch resistent

5-it snaps on easily, bit harder to take out(wich is a good thing, you don't want it comes apart too easy)

6-precision, does not touch the bottom of the top portion of the phone when the keyboard is slid open

I had gotten an Seidio case even before I bought the EVO; I did not hesitate and ordered this case before I bought the Epic. Seidio makes great cases, and I help sold a few when others saw the case on my phones - again, people who loves their phones use Seidio.

There are two pieces in the package, one for the bottom portion, one for the top, pay attention to the top portion, because it is so thin and the center has paper insert, so I thought it was just decoration at first. Luckily I did not throw the box away, after my friend told me, "hey, where's your top?", I realized I was blind as a bat and found it and snapped it right onto the phone. NOW, THIS IS AWESOME, I have a PURPLE EPIC!

I had already dropped my phone before I got a chance to research accessories...wish I already had this case! It has a good feel and fits perfectly. It also helps to have your phone stand out from others. :-)

I should note that underneath the case I also have a skin (Phantom Skinz chromatics) on the phone. I didn't want to take it off when I was just trying this case out and it fits over it fine. There were reports of this case putting too much pressure on the slider and scratching the keyboard but at least mine in this color does not or I can't tell.

I recently purchased a Samsung Epic 4G phone and was looking for nice case for it. The Sprint store where I purchased my phone only had cases in three colors, clear, hot pink, and black, none of which I liked. I decided to check online and see what was available and while searching Amazon.com I saw this case. I checked the reviews and was pleasantly surprised to find 100% of the reviewers gave it a 5-star rating. Well that and the fact that it is purple, my favorite color, made me decide to order it. I didn't expect color to be like the picture and of course I was right. It is better, the most beautiful shade of amethyst purple with a slightly shimmery metallic finish. I also fits the phone perfectly. I am more than pleased with this purchase and recommend it for anyone looking for a nice case for their Epic 4G phone.

Look no further, this is the case for your Epic. Sturdy, well made, worth the money, because let's be honest. Do you really want to take the chance of damaging your expensive Android toy with a drop? The case has a nice, almost lightly metallic sheen, and it can take a hit. I'm clumsy, and dropped the phone and case onto my brick hearth. Not a scratch. Very well done, I have no issues at all getting to all my ports and sensors. It's on there good, too - some other cases I have used have popped off the device when dropped, not this one. It even corrected the slight "wobble" in the keyboard on my Epic when I put it on. Lastly, many of the snap on cases I have seen for Epic come up and cover part of the screen. This one is just a nice purple frame around that awesome display. When the phone is off it still has that all black look, and when on you have all that real estate without anything in the way. Isn't that one of the perks of the Epic anyway, the screen? Why block it off? I'm using this in conjunction with a Zagg screen protector (clumsy, remember?) and the combo is the winner of protection. Zagg invisibleSHIELD for Samsung Epic 4G Galaxy S (Maximum Coverage) Lastly, the nice purple color makes it a little more pretty, plus if you're in the market for a Kindle case it's an exact match for the M Edge case. M-Edge Executive Kindle Jacket, Purple (Fits 6" Display, Latest Generation Kindle) While this might not sell it to anyone but me, the fact that my gadgets match is the icing on the cake for when they travel together. Easy to put on, too. Look no further, this is it.

Seidio SURFACE Case for the Samsung Epic 4G -1 Pack - Case-Retail Packaging (Amethyst)

I love it! The fit is perfect, the feel is nice. All of the ports are easy to access. A variety of colors to choose from would be great!

There aren't many choices for the ladies for cases for the Samsung Epic, but even if there were, this case is the way to go. The purple color isn't as muted as it is in the photo, it is a little more deep and vibrant but not cheap looking at all.

The case as that same ever so slightly "velvety" feel that the bottom of the Epic has without the case - which I love! Definitely does not feel plasticky and maintains the integrity of your Epic.

I don't feel this case makes the Epic any more bulky than it already is, and let's face it -- if you wanted a compact phone, you wouldn't have gotten rid of your old Motorola Razor in 2005.

I only wish this company would release more colors. I am not a huge purple fan, but this case has won over my heart, and will certainly do. - Galaxy S - 4g - Seidio - Sprint'

Comfortable - lace-up, waterproof

I have wide feet. I have had Croc shoes before and they fit. This boot is tight around the arch. It is hard to get the foot in with a sock on. Once in, it is the right length and width, it is tight where the seam is, where the two fabrics meet, just across the arch. I am wearing without socks until it stretches, which I hope is soon. It is very light weight and comfortable. Fine for shoveling the driveway. There is plenty of wiggle room for the toes which is the secret to having warm feet. There is no arch support and no room to put in supports, so not suitable for long walks. The color looks true to what I expected. the inside is completely lined with smooth soft fabric. No plastic touches my foot. The top edge is elastic which keeps the snow out and has room to tuck the pant let in. Good practical design that everyone in snow country can appreciate. crocs Women's Crocband Winter Boot,Canary/Canary,11 M US

I really like those boots. I have a narrow foot so it fits perfectly. I wear size 7.5 and bought a 8 which was perfect. They are lightweight and they have good grip. I would probably buy another one in a different color.

I spent hours researching winter boots. I live in Vermont so it was really important to me that the boot be both warm and waterproof. Add to that a desire to have a funky color and a comfortable fit and I ended up with my warm, comfortable, cozy, yellow Croc Winter Boot. Have not regretted the purchase-- and would do it all over again. The next time I'll order a half size up, though. They run small.

I adore these boots. I live in New Hampshire and they are great in the snow. They are so light and fairly easy to slip into. I've had them for a few weeks though and they have become squeaky when I walk, which is upsetting, but I still love them. Also, be careful when wearing dark colored pants. I'm not sure if it is from jeans or navy blue cords, but my boots have a little rim of blue on the inside top. No big deal though, they're still super cute.

I purchased 2 pair of these before Christmas on sale for gifts for my teenagers. I rarely buy name brand snow boots because the kids are pretty hard on them, but these were on sale so I have it a shot. They are so awesome that I am going to purchase another pair for myself. These boots are great for snow play, keep your feet warm and dry, are made really well and look really cute to "boot"...sorry couldn't resist. Seriously, they are a great value and worth the $.

I bought the boots for my daughter and she loves them. They fit very roomy and very warm. I bought a half size bigger; I wasn't sure of the fit and I wanted her to have plenty of room for extra socks if needed. I highly recommend these crocs.

I think these boots are great. I test drove them in the Twin Cities, where I did a lot of walking in very cold weather. They may run a bit small; and I might suggest buying a half-size up and adding sole inserts to adjust your fit--particularly if you are a tween size. Love the color I got--berry/purple/plum (whatever it's called)! - Waterproof - Lace-up - Women - Comfortable'

Metal Cutting - rotary tool accessories, metal cutting

If you have ever tried to make a smooth curved cut in a super-hard porcelain floor tile, you probably gave up. I almost did. I needed to make very accurate semi-circle cut at a side of a tile that goes around shower drain. No tools allowed performing this task. All professional tiling specialists (I asked at least 5 of them) suggested nipping the tile, saying that that was the only way to do it.

All rotary cutters, INCLUDING THIS ONE, would say "Do not use on floor tile". Well, you would not be able to do the job using ONLY this diamond cutter, but wait, there is a solution that worked unexpectedly fine for me.

Follow these steps:

1. Draw a cut-off line on the front side of you tile with a pencil.

2. Using a rotary tool with variable speed capability and this cutter, work along the line making superficial groove (1/16 of an inch is enough). IMPORTANT: use low speed setting (up to 8000 RPM), otherwise the cutter will overheat momentarily; work for no longer than 3 seconds at a time, then just let it idle for another 3 - 5 seconds to cool off.

3. When you are done with the groove, set you rotary tool aside - you won't need it anymore - and use a wet saw to make parallel cuts every 1/4 of an inch. Cut it all the way up to you groove. When you're done, you can snap off cuts strip by strip at the place where your groove is, which will result in ideally precise cut on the face of your tile.

THE BOTTOM LINE: no other tool can be used to make a precise inner curved cut in a floor tile.

Smart, isn't it? :-) And I'm not even a pro!

Thanks Dremel! Dremel 545 Diamond Wheel

I bought one of these on a whim and I have been very happy with it. I doubt I will buy any more regular cut off wheels.

I have so far on my first blade done the following with out any noticable wear.

Custom cut 25 tiles.

Cut glass Jars in half the long way.

Cut a lock open.

Cut a Peach Pit in half

Cut open 2 Quartz Geodes

Made cuts in Shale, Slate and Limestone.

The only thing I noticed is that a variable speed Dremel is best. Depending on the material the blade will slow down and spark if it is spinning too fast.

I've been trying to find a way to cut plaster neatly, and without creating a lot of dust. I've tried various bits in my RotoZip (with vacuum attachment), various bits and wheels in my Dremel, a masonry wheel in my drill, and even a circular saw. All of these failed, either because the cutter wore out too quickly, or too much dust was created. This little diamond wheel, however, has worked well. It is so thin; it creates little debris. I can hold my vac nozzle right up next to it while I'm cutting, and I capture most of the dust. I've cut about twenty feet of plaster thus far, and there is no noticeable wear (reduction in diameter of the wheel). So far, I am very pleased.

As one reviewer already said this is the best tool for cutting plaster walls. You can easily replace sections of the wall with drywall or cut openings for outlets/switches by using this tool to cut the plaster. Once the outline is cut you can remove the paster in the section to be replaced without chipping or cracking the rest of the wall. Then you remove the lathe and fill the hole with drywall. I was able to cut about 25 feet before I wore out the bit. Well worth the money. Use a vacuum when cutting to suck up the dust. Can't go wrong with this on plaster.

We had a problem when replacing our ceramic tiled dining room floor, with hardwood. I wanted the transition between the dining room & kitchen to be at a certain point (as we were not going to replace the tiles in the kitchen), but that point was part way across 3 already laid tiles. All of the contractors said you couldn't do it without pulling up the tiles to cut them, then re-lay them. To save this hassle I bought one of these attachments to give it a try and it worked brilliantly. I pencilled in my line, then slowly went along the tiles with the Dremel set at 8000rpm, making sure I was going down to a depth of about 3/16". Then I made small grooves at right angles to the original cut about every 1" on the section of tile to be discarded. I then used these grooves to put a chisel in to hammer down & crack the tile. This process worked perfectly and I got a precision cut all along the tiles with no chipping. I was very impressed with the cutting ability of the attachment, but have only given it a 4 out of 5 since, in my opinion, it became blunt too quickly. I only managed to cut across two 12" tiles, before I had to replace the attachment.

I was very happy to find this cutting wheel and use it now in place of the original cut off wheels that came with my Dremel. For a ten spot give or take, you have a wheel that cuts through nearly anything and allows for precision work when needed.

I have cut through metal piping, sheered screw heads that were stripped, and cut some locks open when we couldn't find the keys. I have yet to be disappointed. My Dremel and accessories such as the 545 Diamond Wheel are invaluable. - Rotary Tool Accessories - Cheap - Metal Cutting - Cheaply Made'

First Day Of School - uniball, office supplies

I chose this because it is advertised as being more resistant to snapping than regular lead. After a few days of use I have yet to have it snap on me while writing. It could be that it's "infused with diamonds", but it's more likely a ploy. Wouldn't they be mostly carbon anyway. I decided to test a piece and snapped it intentionally off the pencil tip. It did seem harder than i was used to. They do write with a nice dark line and I could be imagining things, but they may wear down faster than standard lead.

The price isn't more than your typical lead pack, so the only reason not to buy it is the vast avaliablilty to pick up some generic stuff from a retail store. If you wanna buy your pencil lead online, I'd definitely buy this stuff. Uni-ball Diamond Infused Leads, 0.7mm, 40 Leads (1753231) - Mechanical Pencils - Office Supplies - Uniball - Pencil'

Home Theater Speaker System - speakers, home theater speaker

Using this with a Sony BD player and Onkyo 5.1 amp linked via coax audio; TV via HDMI. After all settings were completed, the action and big explosions sounded great. If you listen to movies using TV speakers, you don't know what you're missing.

BUT I couldn't hear dialog. Checked all settings, and searched online forums. I tried to boost the dB for the center but still couldn't hear. Speakers are connected via Monster Cable instead of the flimsy speaker cable provided (so small the connectors won't even hold it). Then I used the test tone from the amp to find out the center channel speaker doesn't work. I'm using an existing bookshelf speaker for center for now.

Otherwise, the bases sound fine and rest of the speakers seem more than powerful enough for my tiny home theater room. Watched Journey to the Center of the Earth in 3-D with 6-year old, and the combination 3-D video and 3-D audio were a winner with him.

For a small room, with a decent amp and proper cables (do yourself a favor, and get at least 16-gauge) this set should work just fine for most movie lovers. Audiophiles should look elsewhere. And test all speakers before you throw out the packaging (as I did).

UPDATE: after mentioning to Amazon the center channel was not working but I didn't want to pack everything up, they promptly shipped me a new set FOC - with pre-paid return as well. Next day. New center channel works great, and sound has greatly improved. Nicely done! Yamaha NS-SP1800BL 5.1-Channel Home Theater Speaker Package

For the price I didn't expect much from these speakers, and when I got them they definitely exceeded my expectations. I have always been a fan of Yamaha audio equipment and when I was looking for a decent (cheap) set of 5.1 speakers for my Onkyo SR606 I came across this set and thought I'd give them a try. Much to my pleasure they work great! I am only using 3.1 right now but the sound is far superior to any pre-packaged HTS that I have looked at.

PROS - Price, quality of build, sound quality

CONS - plastic casing/style (not the greatest for displaying around your house) This is a very minor con!

It took me weeks of research before I purchased this product. I liked the idea of the Yamaha name, but was concerned the quality would be less than optimal because the price was so low. While I am not an audiophile I like to have the best my limited money can buy. The 6 Ohm rating was a big hiccup for me as well, as 8 ohm is what all receiver ratings are calculated on. But after looking closely at the manual for my receiver I found it supported 6-16 Ohm speakers. So we were good there. My receiver, a Pioneer VSK-519 showed up before my speakers so I hooked it up to some Sony book shelf speakers to "test it out". When the Yamaha speakers came I was only able to hook up three of the five speakers with the included speaker wire, so I used the Sony's as R and L. The Sony's put out noticeably more sound than the Yamaha's which was at first concerning to me. And once I got them out of the way I had to turn the receiver up higher to get the same output. I watch movies right around 50-52 when with the Sony speakers, I was quite happy at 40. I suspect this is related to the 82 db rating (and the only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5). But turning the Amp up a little higher is not a big deal and the Receiver has been very happy in it's low ventilation area, and is in no danger of overheating.

I also upgraded my speaker wire to 16 gauge and have not noticed a difference.

Other thoughts, even though the Sub is a 100W amp, it only produces 50W of output, just like it says on the Manufacture site. So Amazon was a little misleading there. No big deal, because the Sub is quite adequate in my 1200 sqft house, it is everywhere, my poor wife.

My Brother who spent well over $1000 on his surround sound (Mine: $100.98 speakers, $165 receiver, $10 in speaker wire) said my setup sounded better than his, we were watching UP on Blu-ray. That made me very happy! So it was well worth it, and I have been very pleased with the whole set up.

On a side note I definitely recommend the Pioneer VSK-519. It is the only receiver in it's class (<$200) that accepts and uses audio via HDMI from your sources, where most do "pass through" and therefore make you bring your audio via digital coax or optical. This is great because you need HDMI or 5 pairs of RCA cables (My BD player only has HDMI out) to get true loss-less audio.

I definitely recommend these speakers for people on a budget, but if I had an extra $100 I would have gotten some Energy Take 5 speakers paired with a Polk sub. But no regrets and I don't plan on upgrading them anytime soon.

You will not belive your ears. For the price you cannot get better sound. ou will need to spend 5 times or more to match, let alone beat the sound qualty. Sub is powered and all the speakers look great. They will look great on stands or on end tables like I have them. They are 6 ohms which means they need more power than 8 ohms speakers to get same result. I have them with yamaha 463 receiver and they sound great. I'am very happy.

After spending weeks looking for a good middle of the road quality speaker system I finally found this gem and I am pleased with the results. This was the last piece to my home theater setup and for the price, the quality just can't be beat. I bought this to be used with my Onkyo RC160 receiver and the two go together nicely.

Once of the things I am pleased about is the great quality of sound for the small size of these things. They are literally about the size of pc speakers but deliver such clear sound. The L/R Channel in both the front and rear are the same size and deliver great highs and good medium range sound and the Sub takes care of the lows.

The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is the center channel. The center channel itself delivers great quality sound but the volume isn't quite there. I had to turn up the dB's on the center channel via my receiver to balance it out so it worked out in the end. Othewise I would find myself reaching for the remote during dialogue rich scenes to turn it up.

I have seen a few reviews with people who aren't happy with the subwoofer but my experience has been pleasant. The lows come through clean and have a great tone. It sounds great during action movies with lots of explosions as well as listening to your favorite cd or radio station. The sub itself has its own on/off switch that I just leave on as well as its own power adjustment. I keep mine set at about 45% because anything higher and everything in the house starts shaking.

The bottom line here: For the price this just can't be beat. Yes there are other setups that will deliver a better experience for some but will cost you much more money. At this price point you will not find a better setup for your home theater and unless you are a complete audiophile you will be completely satisfied. - Home Theater Speaker Systems - Surround - Speakers - Home Theater Speaker'

Kindle 2 Protection - kindle 2 protection, kindle

Does what it's supposed to do and looks fine too. With the Kindle 2 being so sexily slim, I didn't want to stick it semi-permanently into a book-cover type case that would more than double its bulk while it's in use. ("Does this case make my Kindle look fat?") And neither did I want to pay $40 or $100 (!!!??!?) for the Patagonia or Cole Haan sleeve case. So I went with the Belkin and I'm happy with it. The soft neoprene plus a layer of leather should give my Kindle all the protection it needs. Belkin Neoprene Kindle Case (Fits 6" Display, 2nd Generation Kindle)

Though it is exactly what it claims to be (though it really does smell like the other reviews claim), I've compared this to the more expensive patagonia and like the patagonia much better, even for the price. I thought I would use the Kindle naked, but the patagonia offers me the flexibility to use it both ways and after nearly dropping the kindle when someone bumped into me at the airport, i decided that the extra protection while I'm reading is worth the price.

I wanted a padded neoprene sleeve for my Kindle, and this one looked pretty sharp and was from a trusted company, and the price was right, so I ordered it. I didn't want the Amazon cover because it attaches to the kindle, and I like holding and using my electronics without any bulky additional add-ons.

I gotta say, it easily surpassed my expectations. The build quality is perfect. The design is excellent. Two zippers allow you to slide the Kindle out for use quickly and easily. The faux leather sort of reminds me of a journal cover, which is cool.

The padding is excellent. They have even run a strip of neoprene on either side of the zipper on the inside so when you zip it shut, the Kindle itself is padded against the zipper closure, thus providing full coverage padding even if it's dropped on edge.

All in all, a nice Kindle case, although I have nothing to compare it against, but if you want a simple protective sleeve to carry your Kindle around in, you'll be satisfied with this.

I was hoping my Kindle 2 would fit into the cover that came with my original Kindle (now being referred to everywhere as "the Kindle 1"), but the K2 is just a tad taller, so it's an awkward fit. However, I did learn while using the K1 that I needed to remove it from the cover to use it comfortably. Because the K1 had a rubber backing, it sat on my raised knee when I crossed my legs without slipping (a good reading distance for me). The K2 has a shiny metalic backing and requires that you hold it securely if you don't want to see your $359 investment go toboganning to the floor. This cover is little more than a padded envelope with a zipper closure across the top and one side and is adequate for protecting your Kindle when you place it inside your backpack or purse. What I like about it is that the rubber (?) padding on both sides makes it possible to use it as a support in your lap while reading. Slippage problem solved!

Nice padding, sturdy zippers, this case (not a cover) provides great protection *all around* in a bag or purse.

Please note: it does NOT accommodate the kindle with the cover on (it's too small) as some have asked.

This is a great case, for a great price. It has everything I need to keep my Kindle secure. I didn't want a book jacket-type case that doesn't clasp closed. I wanted something to hold it securely, something that zips, ensuring there will be no chance for it to fall out, or come loose. This is just the case for the job! Soft material, not to too big and clunky...a great choice that I'm very pleased with and absolutely recommend!

I just got this, the Kindle fits snugly and properly protects it. This is a good deal at the price. There are others at twice and three times the price I have no idea what they could offer that would justify the difference

This case has all the right parts except a good zipper. The size is right, the padding is right but the zipper leaves much to be desired. The zipper size is too small--the zipper teeth that is, and because the kindle fits snugly in the case there is a small amount of strain on the zipper. Unfortunately, the teeth separate when you try to zip the case closed so that you end up with gaps where the teeth didn't engage, or simply a failed zipper. Unless the zipper is replaced with a higher quality zipper, or the case is slightly larger so there's no strain on the current zipper I cannot recommend this case!

The Belkin sleeve does what its supposed to do, which is protect my Kindle 2. Nothing fancy about it. I wasnt a fan of the original Kindle's case so I opted for something that it just slides in and out of. - Kindle 2 Protection - Kindle - Kindle 2 Case - Belkin'
