Cpu Cooling - arctic silver, thermal compound

There is no doubt that Arctic Silver 5 is effective at reducing CPU thermals. This is a great kit because it has relatively generous quantities of product. The CLEANER is handy for quickly wiping off old nasty compound from the heatsink and CPU. The follow-up liquid simply and effectively drives off the remnants of the orange-based cleanser so that the heat compound can make excellent contact with the porous metals of the heatsink and CPU cop heat spreader. The tiny micro-fiber cloth is great but it'll be clogged with relatively little use. You can easily substitute similar cloths or Bounty quality paper towel squares. Just don't use cheap tissues or toilet paper or nasty linty economy paper towel material! HINT to rookies: do not apply too much compound; the heatsink already fits fairly tight, so there isn't a whole lot of gap to make up -- it's just the slight surface imperfections that hold air and thus prevent good thermal transfer. I suggest you smear a small glob in the center of the CPU and then spread it around with a gloved or Saran-wrapped finger until the surface is dirty with Arctic Silver, but not piled high as if laying bricks. Lay down the heatsink at a slight angle and jiggle it side-to-side a tiny bit. This will help release any trapped air bubbles, the kiss of thermal death. Secure the HS and run the PC. After a few days/weeks, the compound will seal the surfaces and you'll achieve optimal heat transfer capability. Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound 12grams with ArctiClean 120ml Kit (Includes 2 30ml ArctiClean 1 and 2 30ml ArctiClean 2) with Bonus DB Roth Microfiber Cleaning Cloth

I bought this product to replace an accidental mix of two other heat sink transfer pastes. I had mixed the material included with an Intel Quad 4 I7 processor and an older version of this product. Well, what can I say? The Intel processor instructions ignored the fact that it already had a heat-sink paste (evidently, a wax type) on it and the motherboard book stated that an application of heat-sink grease was absolutely needed. The mixing of two greases caused the processor to run at about 96 degrees C and that, by all accounts, was too high.

I bought the kit, which includes the cleaner, specifically because I thought that using the recommended cleaner might be a plus. I have many solvents at hand and some would have been adequate, but the recommended, included solvent would be guaranteed to be compatible. It might also be friendly to the surrounding area, should some stray.

The instructions were clear and the applications of the cleaner and heat-transfer grease were well explaind and straight-forward. The cleaning phase required a few cotton-tipped applicators, a couple of paper towels, and the included microfiber cloth was a plus for this event, too.

The end result was that, after the application of this product, the processor ran at 62 degrees C. That is an immediate benefit of 34 degrees C. I expect that the initial temp may lower with continued use, as it is apt to do during what is apparently an application "settling-in" process.

Do use this product, as it works.

For those that swap heat sinks enough to be here, looking for a product like this, you need to look no further. Surface cleans very well with the 2 step system. Leaves the die surface prime for a fresh coat of whatever TIM you are wanting to use.

It is about time that they put this series onto dvd. It is well deserving that it is now finally available. I used to look forward to this series to air each week on one of my local tv channels btween 1993 and 1994 when it first aired. It is typical that a fun and clean family show like this went off the air so quickly. Some people claimed that series did not do so well in the ratings but that simply was not true. The series was very expensive to film. It was on location filming that was done in British Columbia. The weather was often very cold and stormy. There was also a lot of commuting back and forth for Lynda Carter. She flew home each weekend after weekly filming. Lynda has always been more concerned about her family than acting. So between the expense of catering to the cast and on location filming and harsh weather the producer wished to end the series by the following spring. Luckily, this is one series that produced a last episode that closed everything up. Everything was sewn up wonderfully and satisfying for the viewer who had seen the whole series. It was like when the Fugitive finally caught the "one arm bandit". I absolutely loved this show. I loved its production values and the entire cast. Even all the villians did a great job with their roles. I loved to hate Taylor Shields and I looked up to Hawkeye and marveled at the lady that Lynda Carter portrayed of which she really did not have to act. She was really playing her own self. She is most definately a lady and a lady to be admired not just in beauty but in grace.

My only gripe with the dvd's are the fact that they made a nice case but the dvd's are inside paper sleeves. There are also no bonus materials on this. It is like they just rushed them through. I am happy though that they finally released this series. It is exciting and crisp and a clean adventure series for the whole family. Hawkeye: The Complete Series

I loved this show and was sad when it disappeared. And I was elated to see it listed for a DVD release. Well, what a disappointment. Paper sleeves and no extras. I would happily have paid three times as much for commentary and better packaging.

But the worst part of my set was that the final episode called The Return was not in fact the final episode. It was a repeat of the earlier episode with her father, played by James Cromwell. My set does not have the final episode, and thank goodness I saved my video tapes.

Buyers beware: you may get ripped off like I did. I can only hope they fixed this error.

While known primarily for "Matt Houston," Lee Horsley also starred in 2 excellent, little-remembered, television series in the 1980s and "90s. The first, "Paradise," was a wonderful western that ran for 2 1/2 years on CBS starting in 1987. The second was this terrific syndicated series produced by the late Stephen J. Cannell, the legendary producer of "The Rockford Files," among others. This show premiered shortly after the release of the great adventure film "The Last of the Mohecans." (Footage from that film appears in the series' pilot.") Horsley plays frontiersman Hawkeye who lives in the wilderness with his indian friend Chingachkook in close proximity to a British fort in 1755, the period of the French and Indian War. Carter plays a lovely English woman who comes to the Fort with her older husband to open a general store. The husband is quickly captured by the indians but never declared dead. This causes the burgeoning romance between Horsley and Carter to never be consumated. Carter looks great and the dress designers of the series allow her to show ample cleavage.

This series was filmed in Vancouver and has terrific scenery and lots of action. It was syndicated and shown at different times in different parts of the country. Unfortunately it only lasted one year. I've only watched the first 2 episodes (the 2 hour pilot,) and the picture and sound seem fine. Unfortunately there are no extras. (I would have loved a retrospective with Horsley and Carter. If you enjoy westerns or historical dramas, I highly recommend this excellent series.

Finally available on dvd, this is one of my favorite series. A pity it only lasted one season. One person here notes that his set did not include the final episode, but my set does indeed have the true final episode, where Elizabeth's husband returns. The series probably wasn't given a full remastering job, but the quality far exceeds my old tape copies from the WB, and my even worse copies from a British trader. I think anyone who likes the series will approve of the dvd release.

This was a fantastic series that never got enough of a chance. Very character oriented with well thought out and engaging stories. The acting was top notch and the location scenery was outstanding. This DVD collection is long over-due. A couple things to know: the collection is very sparse, no extras. But at least it has been priced correctly for that. All episodes of the series are included and look great. I wish this had been brought out in BluRay so that the scenery and superb set details could be shown for how great they were. Who knows, maybe some day. But it's great that this little known (and over-looked) gem is now available for all to appreciate. And at this price there is no reason why anyone should pass on it if they enjoy historical action and great stories.

This series was always hard to catch as it was aired at various times. Usually on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, but it was never on a regular airing schedule in the southeast U.S. But, when I did catch it, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The historical content and the filming location in Canada was just wonderful.

Lynda Carter and Lee Horsley are so great together. I wish that they would or had done more acting together.

The fact that this series only lasted one season, it just leaves you wanting more. The 22 episodes were just not enough. This is a series that, history wise, could have gone on for at least 5 years like the Daniel Boone series with Fess Parker.

There must have been some notice that it would not be re-newed, as the final episode pretty well wrapped up the main story line. But, it did leave you wanting more as to Lynda and Lee's characters relationship.

I recommend this series with no reservations whatsoever, as to the viewer's satisfaction.

So happy that this was finally released on DVD. - Stephen J Cannell - Dvd - Lynda Carter - 1755'

Av Receiver - denon, receiver

I was looking for a midrange receiver with features and functions that are useful but not so many that I don't know what to do with them all. At the price this unit has enough HDMI ports for me to connect my PS3, Xbox, and cable box. The onscreen setup is easy enough and the instruction booklet is actually very helpful. It is nice to be able to connect my iPod and use an onscreen interface to select songs and playlists; however, it is not very nice to look at and I expected a bit more from the interface - it looks like an old MSDOS screen. I also wish the little cover for the iPod connects in the front didnt pop-off, I wish it slid so I don't have to worry about losing it. The banana connectors in the back seem quite sturdy and were easy to connect with the speaker wire. Over all I am very happy with the purchase and it is up to date enough that I will be using it for many years to come. Pioneer VSX-821-K 5.1 Home Theater Receiver, Glossy Black

Well...I'm not an expert, but I think that the receiver does pretty darn good....both for movies and music. Takes a bit to figure out the features, but it's not all that bad. I have 4 BCI Venturi's hooked up to front and back...a BCI center and a BCI sub. All in all pretty great sound. The room is medium size...I'd say around 20x20...definitely fills the space and could easily do a larger area. Best of all? My wife loves it!! - Hdmi - Home Theater - Receiver - Denon'

Adventure - scifi, thriller

"The Chronicles of Riddick" is a very watchable Sci-Fi action movie that is the last in the Riddick series (following Pitch Black [Blu-ray] and Dark Fury - The Chronicles of Riddick (Animated)). While it does have a few characters from the the first two movies, it could almost stand on its own since the back-story really isn't too important to the main plot line.

No spoilers from me; Vin Diesel reprises his role as the fugitive Riddick, a very tough, no nonsense survivalist in the truest sense of the word. There are a lot of new elements added the Riddick universe, including a few new races, and issues much grander in scope than the previous movies. While Riddick is a very cold killer who is capable of explosive violence, he also is very loyal to those he considers worthwhile.

The special effects are very impressive in places and I really liked the feel of the environments created for the movie, with some of the Necromonger technology being the creepiest I have ever seen. The various fight scenes are all well done and are some of the best in any movie in this genre.

Pros: Also compatible with the original Graphire tablets (CTE-xxx). Better than a mouse when used with a Wacom tablet; works with no bugs or issues; very good build quality; appears and feels reliable; comfortable to hold; and attractive appearance.

Cons: Price is a bit steep. But I double it as a mouse, so it's reasonable after all.

This also works with the original Graphire tablets (CTE-xxx). I bought it to replace my less than two year old Graphire pen. This is of much much better quality. Looks like Wacom has realized that it made a terrible pen for an otherwise excellent tablet for the Graphires. The Graphire pen was extremely unreliable and also very uncomfortable. I heard many complaints and those complaints had a reason. The Graphire pen had a terrible design, especially with the rubber covering. The buttons themselves surrounded by the rubber clothing were also poorly made. It never felt good in your hand, and it became nearly unusable after a short time. I torn away the rubber clothing and continued to use the pen for another half a year, and the thing eventually became so bad that it was completely unusable.

I'm glad that Wacom made the new pens for the new Bamboo tablets compatible with the older Graphire tablets. So far, it seems 100% compatible and I've run into absolutely no issues. The new pen is better in all aspects. The buttons are much easier to access and are much better designed and made. And it lost the hated rubber cover. If you have ever used the older Graphite pen, you will especially appreciate the improvement made by this one. Bamboo Fun Pen Black

The Wacom Bamboo pen is really something else, at least, compared to my old Graphire 4.

The sensitivity is pretty amazing--really, it has a lot of depth. It took me a few days to get used to it, actually!

I bought two graphire 4 tablets-- both pens, at around the same time first started losing buttons, and then the eraser would give out...then it wouldn't work right etcetcetc, whatever was wrong with those has been fixed with this. I've had it for quite a bit now and nothing is falling off or has stopped responding. The only reason why I had to get a new one was because my dog ate the end off of my other. It's been noted that it feels comfortable in your hand, and this is also true!

Because I knew just what I was purchasing, I didn't need to know anything ahead of time. It could be noted that the pen seems to be interchangeable with other tablets. But I'm not sure on how many. Bamboo Fun Pen Black

I got a Wacom CTE-430 Graphire tablet some years ago, then at one point sat on the pen and broke it. The Bamboo fun pen works perfectly with my old tablet, and everything installed right the first time on OS X 10.5.7, and it responds to pressure in Photoshop without a hitch. It is nicer to hold than the old pen, the rocker button works more cleanly, and it's nicer looking too. A little more money and I could have bought a new tablet, though, and I was tempted. But luckily I am cheap, and now I am pleased with my purchase.

I needed to replace the pen for my 5+ year old Wacom Graphire tablet. My main concern was whether or not the new pen would work properly with the old tablet. No need for concern, it works perfectly and saved me the considerable expense of buying a whole new tablet.

I bought this to replace the blue pen (I thought I had lost) which came with my new Bamboo Fun pack. I was disappointed that the buttons don't have the same "feel" as the original.

Once I found the original blue one and could compare the feel of them both side by side there was a definite difference; the buttons on the blue pen --while not making a actual click noise has a definite clickish "feel", while the black replacement pen had more of a mushy feel. It felt like something sticky was in there and I wasn't sure when I let go of the button if it really retracted or was still pushed down.

The pen operates alright, but the button doesn't feel crisp and it's a little bit of a distraction from my project, and while my concern is definitely nit-picky, it is still relevant because the user experience is the whole point with Bamboo.

Maybe mine was a fluke, but when you buy over the internet flukes are not acceptable because returns are such a hassle.

This pen is excellent, right up until the moment you drop it on the floor or it rolls off your desk and hits the floor or your cat swats it and it hits the floor. Then it dies instantly. You can still use it as an eraser. At these prices, it should be a little more hardy. I'm going on my 3rd pen. This is too expensive for such an easily broken product. I had a different Bamboo tablet before, that pen was practically indestructible. I don't know why this one is so easily broken. I found some on-line tutorials on how to take it apart and possibly fix it. I have 2 to test the repair out on, so if I can fix even one, it will still save me some $$.

cool product, but the pen point broke quickly. i called wacom customer care who said 'the pen is bad buy a new one'. apparently the sensor inside the point regularly goes bad and i should buy a new one on their website ($69?! for another pen thats just going to break?!) i'm not about to buy a new one from this company, even for half the price on amazon, ill switch brands first.

I pen does what it says, my previous pen was broken when it fell from a pretty long fall. I then tried to repair it and it did work to some extent and would have worked better if i did not use a gel based super glue and instead used crazy glue for a tight gapless seal. The problem after that was that i could no longer deal with the garbage i created so i destroyed my old pen. fast forward 5 months and i now have a new pen, the only problem now is that the drivers for the tablet seem to be causing some sort of endless mouse wheel scroll down problem. I've isolated the problem a bit, it seems the tablet is telling the computer that the mouse is on it even though it is not. long story short... good pen well made products but the software aspect leaves a great deal to be desired, that or the lack of continuous software updates and support. Buy it sure, but watch your system drivers like a hawk. - Editing - Pen - Computer Accessories - Drawing'

Executive - executive, pointer

When this laser arrived, I instantly understood the reason for cheap price. The pen holder was loose when i removed the pen from the bag. Then the VERY FIRST time I pressed the button it pushed inside the casing and stuck. The laser has never lit up and is seemingly permanently broken. DO NOT waste your money on this item. Spend another five bucks and get a product that works. RED Laser Pointer Presentation 5mW/650nm Device

First of all it does not come with the 2 AAA batteries. When I got the batteries the laser worked well. Then I put it in my pocket for about 2 hours and took it out again and lo and behold it was already broken. Tried a bunch of batteries on it, including brand new ones. Nada. According to reviews this item seems hit or miss in manufacturing quality. If you want to take a coin flip on whether or not yours will work, by all means order!

After using this pointer, on second thought I should have purchased the one with the on and off switch instead of the button. Sometime when the button is pressed it is dim or goes out and has to be pressed again. I'm afraid that with continued use the button will wear out. I use it to entertain my pets.

Well, I bought it and the shipping was hell long it took me 3 weeks till I finally recieved it. It didnt come with no battery so I still not sure if it works. If anyone can please tell me what type of battery it uses that would be great thank you. - Laser - Executive - Pointer - Laser Pointers'

Toothbrush

We actually have 4 of these in our home, one for each person. They are super cute and hygenic, so that your toothbrush head isn't just hanging out where it can pick up poop molecules floating in the air ;) Flipper Hello Kitty Rabbit Toothbrush Holder

I really love this thing! It's so cute. Perfect for any hello kitty fan. I have mine stuck on my mirror, so I can just pull my toothbrush out and push it back in when I am done with it. You never have to actually touch the device itself which makes it really good for folks who are concerned about hygiene. I just bought it because I liked the idea of having hello kitty guard my toothbrush. It is really awesome and adorable.

I travel a lot and spend days in long meetings. Having Hello kitty hanging in my hotel room out of reach of the maid always makes me smile. Bought one for all my travling co-workers. Nice size, airs well. Nice to have the toothbrush covered and hanging up.'

Kindle Reading Lights

I recently purchased the new M-Edge e-Luminator book light, even though there was nothing wrong with my older version. Thank goodness I still have my older book light, because the new one is quickly becoming an annoyance. The old light has a slide on and off switch and the new light has a recessed button on the light that you touch to turn on, with 3 different light strengths. When you want to turn the light off, you must touch it all 3 times and then hold it down the fourth time and the light will turn off. Unfortunately though, the light switch is so sensitive that it will turn on even if you don't touch the on button. After the book light does this to you about 30 or 40 times, you might find yourself annoyed and ready to go back to the older, slide switch on/off book light like me. I would recommend waiting to purchase until they have the 'bugs' worked out. M-Edge e-Luminator Kindle Booklight, Graphite (Compatible Only with 2nd and Latest Generation M-Edge Kindle Covers)

After many failed attempts at finding just the right light, I finally found it. This little light is amazing! It fits perfectly in my Kindle cover, has three different light settings, is adjustable and fits nicely in the cover when the cover is closed. Just what I was looking for!

The light works perfectly and fits perfectly into the M-Edge Trip Kindle Jacket I purchase. Although the case is not meant to have the light permanently attached like some other jackets which enclose the light within - I find the light itself takes up very little space so I simply fold it down an keep it with me day or night. As for how well it illuminate the kindle it does the job well and with its three different light levels you should have no problems reading anywhere any time.

On a side note: I'm from Toronto Canada and had to purchase the light from the ".com/USA" site not the ".ca" so it cost me a little extra but I find it was well worth it for the convince of the lights size compared to the choices that where available on other canadian sites.

I knew my husband would be getting me a Kindle 3 for Mother's Day, so I purchased M-Edge Latitude Kindle Jacket (Fits 6" Display, 2nd Generation Kindle), Red w/ Blackand the M-Edge e-Luminator Kindle Booklight, White (Compatible Only with 2nd and Latest Generation M-Edge Kindle Covers) (the older version of this book light) for my Kindle 2, because I planned to give that to my daughter. I purchased the M-Edge Latitude Kindle Jacket, Red (Fits 6" Display, Latest Generation Kindle) and this light for the new Kindle 3. I wanted the graphite light to match the graphite Kindle. If I'd realized then that this light was quite a bit different from the old light, I never would have purchased it.

Before Mother's Day, I used the Kindle 2 with the M-Edge e-Luminator Kindle Booklight, White (Compatible Only with 2nd and Latest Generation M-Edge Kindle Covers) for a few weeks. It was not perfect--a little bulky, maybe--but it worked well, and was a huge improvement over using an ordinary booklight that I couldn't attach to the Kindle or the case. It was bright enough and easy to position it so that there was enough light to illuminate the page.

I've tried using this new light for a few weeks now and have found it to be useless. As other reviews have mentioned, the on/off switch is touchy and annoying. I end up having to touch it several times to get it to turn on or off when I want it to, and yet, I find myself accidentally turning it on or off when I don't mean to.

Also as mentioned in other reviews, this new light is not bright enough. It's useless for reading in a very dark room. I read in bed at night while my husband is sleeping, so I need a light bright enough to illuminate the whole Kindle. Even in dim lighting, though, this light is dim enough that it makes no difference.

Another issue that I've had with this light is that the bendable part of the light is too short. The base of the light (where the AAA battery goes is less bulky than the old light, but to make up for this, it's also taller, so the bendable part of the light ends up being further away from the Kindle. When you combine the dimmer light with the shorter bendable thing, you cannot position this light to illuminate more than maybe the first few lines of the Kindle page. You *can* turn it so that the light is directly above the side of the Kindle instead of the top, but then you cannot open the case to *read* the Kindle. Even if you could, the light is so dim that it still isn't worth trying to find a workaround for that.

This light is a very poor design. I've already given the older light and case to my daughter with the Kindle 2, and I can't find the old version to buy. Amazon is out and so is every other online store I've checked. I'm stuck using my old book light that I have to either hold or set next to the Kindle (and it constantly falls over). At least it lights up the page and I can read.

I'm very disappointed in this light. I feel it was a complete waste of money. I also feel that the case was a waste of money, too, since I can't use it with this book light. I tried the old light with the new case for the Kindle 3 and it works just fine, so I'd be happy if I could find one to buy.'

Marvel Masterworks Paperback - silver age comics, stan lee

When I first bought this volume, I only got it because the store was out of Fantastic Four comics. So you can understand that making a transition from Spider-Man to Fantastic Four to "The Avengers" was a big leap. I saw the cover and I said to myself; "Aw, what the heck. I see Iron Man, Hulk, I think that's Thor, and who are those midgets flying around on ants?" It makes me laugh now because I came so close to putting this back on the shelf.

"The Avengers" are actually an insanely good comic. It definitley ended up in my hands most of the time not only because of the artwork (Jack Kirby) but because of the friendship, loyalty, and the true origins of the Avengers and Captain America. In these pages lurk mystery, action, surprise, wise-crack jokes, and endings to issues that tie up in the next one. In other words, it keeps you reading until the end. However, I would advise you not to get too sucked into this current team of Ant-Man, Giant-Man, the Wasp, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, and Captain America. In the second volume, the entire team changes with some leaving, some staying, and new recruits joining.

Overall, "The Avengers" have hit-home in this amazing volume. If you have the money and the time to read it, I strongly suggest purchasing this one. The Avengers, Vol. 1 (Marvel Masterworks)

I would recommend this comic to any Marvel Masterworks fan. It's fun to learn how the Avengers got together, and see their original roster in action. You also find out how the Avengers got their name. The book has an interesting and not-at-all boring introduction by Stan Lee (writer of Avengers, X-men, Spider-man and many other 60's titles you can get from Marvel Masterworks). At the end of the book there's some bonus material including a pin-up and biographies of Stan Lee, Jack Kerby (penciler of Avengers 1-8), and Don Heck (penciler of 9-10.) If you're an Avengers fan and want to see how they started, I must warn you: this comic is different from modern comics. For one, it's a little simpler and slower paced. Also, the characters might be a little different from how you know them. Over all, I enjoyed this comic and plan on getting the second one.

Once again Marvel Masterworks series proves that the old marvel comics are still good. A little dated and cheesy in some aspects, but they're still compelling stories. It could be argued that the Avengers have been the focal point for everything big in the Marvel universe since they first assembled (collected in this 10 issue volume). This first volume does not disappoint. A must have for any fan of the Marvel Universe.

This is like reading the history of Marvel Comics. Also, it reminds you of a time when Marvel super-heroes were fun & not all serious or pompous. Issue 1 is essential, 2 - 4 are scratchy artwise, as the worst Marvel inker brutalizes Jack Kirby's pencils. Issue #4 re-introduces Cap America, so you have to struggle through it. But then issue #5 is incredible! The seemingly-silly Lava Men are depicted in surreal & imaginative splendour by the King! Best are issues #6 & 7 when Kirby's finest inker of the early years, Chic Stone gives every panel the royal treatment. #8 introduces Kang the Conqueror, so I'll forgive Dick Ayers inking (quite good, but not Stone-cold Chic). Then, uh, Don Heck takes over... Luckily, Kirby still does the covers & Stan Lee is still writing it. But, the scratchy, messy art is a shock after Kirby. Don Heck did some great Avengers from #23 to #32, when he had Romita & Frank Giacoia adding a thickness & solidity to the inking/embellishment, but that's a later volume.

Along w/ the original Avengers you get plenty of good/bad guys like The Hulk & Sub-Mariner, not to mention the Masters of Evil & Power Man. I bought it used for under $5. I got way more than my money's worth. - Silver Age Comics - Marvel Masterworks - Stan Lee - Jack Kirby'

Laptop Accessories - laptop cooling pad, notebook cooler

You name it, Zalman, Belkin, Antec, Notepal Infinite, I've almost tried them all, some even triple the price. The U2 is by far better. Its light weight, simple design, and super super quiet. What I like most is the movable / positionable fans allowing you pin point where the hot spots are which is unique to different brands/model of laptops. In most cases, I don't even turn on the fan. The vented holes allow good air circulation. My 15" MBP typically stays below 50C and it fits on top of it perfectly. The large rubber pads keep itself from sliding. For the price you can't find a better gig than this - at least I haven't. I give it a 5-stars. Cooler Master Notepal U2 Notebook Cooler with Two Fans R9-NBC-8PBK-GP

This cooler is pretty amazing. I repositioned the two fans right over my laptop hard drive and CPU where my laptop is the hottest and they actually keep them pretty cool. All other laptop fans that I have seen have a central fan, leaving the right side of my laptop where my hard drive is really hot. My hard drive died recently and I think the overheating (I use my laptop over 8h/day) was a major factor. Now, instead of it being about 53 degrees Celsius (127 F) without a fan, it stays around 36 degrees Celsius (97 F)! Much better.

I like that it also raises the back of my laptop. The only problem I have is that you can't use it to store and carry your laptop as intended unless you remove the two fans, at least with my laptop. Much thinner ones may fare better. I just don't have the time to remove the fans, rearrange everything to put the laptop into the slot, and then put them into my backpack in such a way that the disconnected fans aren't damaged every time I need to move my laptop. Reassembling from there is also a pain. So I don't use that extra "protection and storage" feature and just keep the fans attached and my laptop on top of the frame, even in my backpack.

Aside from that, this laptop fan works great. I can barely hear it, it is made of sturdy material and doesn't slide, it fits great (about the same size as my 15.4" laptop), and the underside of my laptop feels only slightly warm after being on all day with the fan beneath it. Even without connecting the fans, it does a decent job cooling. I definitely recommend it.

I love it's styling and design, I am very happy with it. I especially like that its made of lightweight aluminum, and the fact that you can place the fans where its need most, is what convinced me to buy it. When you place your notebook on it, it gives it the perfect angle to work on and the rubber corners keep your computer from slipping and it also doubles as a carrier to help prevent any scratches on your notebook. The cooling? It does quite well, it lowers my computers' temp on average of 8 degrees. I added the Thermaltake Mobile Fan 12 External USB Cooling Fan 12CM AF0007 and the combination works far better than I could ever have hoped for. I would have preferred that the fans had a little more "umpf" (more air flow) or the option to purchase additional fans like the ones that come with the Notepal U2. The bottom line is that the Notepal U2 is the best cooler I have used, mixed with the aluminum construction, design, and PRICE, you can't go wrong.

First let me say I've owned over six different lap top coolers in my life. This is BY FAR the best. First of all, it is SILENT. The only way I can tell it's working is to put my hand near one of the fans. Secondly, it does it's job exactly as promised. . .it doesn't blow air into the computer, it pulls the heat away. It does have an approximately 3 inch high slant to it, I suppose it has to, to accommodate the fans, and I don't really care for that, but that's a minor quibble for an otherwise perfect product.

This cooler was exactly what I was looking for. You can set up the fans to point at the hot spots, and it cools very well.

HOWEVER, I have had the thing less than three weeks, and already the USB connector that powers the fans is breaking. I have to jiggle it just right to get the fans to go, and it has rapidly gotten to the point where I can't keep the fans going for more than a couple of seconds at a time. When are people going to start making laptop wires and connectors that actually last a while?

Construction: 5 stars.

solid enough to support the weight of the MBP plus some.

Finish: 5 stars.

Doesn't look cheap.

Fans: 4 stars for the fan. 5 stars for the removable feature.

Not noisy, but i can hear them when the room is really quite. It doesn't bother me a bit. The removable feature is extremely useful for MBP.

Functions: 5 stars.

Before, watching youtube always brought the temp to 70C. Now, 50-57C depending on how many applications, etc... open.

Package: 5 stars.

The product package is simple. Amazon shipped the package with a gigantic box, which protected it very well during shipping.

Headphone Input Sound Adapter - casio keyboard, audio

i looked for weeks for headphones that would work with my casio keyboard (which has a stereo sized jack). couldn't find much. this adapter was perfect...just hooked it up to some headphones i already had for my laptop...wonderful! and only $3...now that's a deal. RCA Stereo Headphone Adapter Plug (AH216) (AH216)

Do you have a large "standard" headphone jack where you'd like to use your small iPod-type headphones? Then get this. Just plug it into the standard jack and then plug your headphones into the opening on the back of this converter and you're in business. I bought one and it works as advertised. It's small, light and inexpensive. What else could you ask for?

I bought a used keyboard at a yard sale. Took it home and the grandchildren came over and started playing it. They have never had a lesson in their life. The earphones that I had did not fit. Hence the adapter. Happiness reigns again in my household. They can play till their hearts are content and my ears are saved. It is a well made product. The shipping and packaging was right on.

I'm so happy I found one of these! I had bought a different kind with my digital piano, but it went missing. This one was inexpensive, and it does the trick! Now my youngest daughter can play the piano with head phones while I watch movies on the tv!

I didn't realize the Audio-Technica ATH-M2X Open-Back Dynamic Stereo Headphones I bought came with their own adapter, so I bought this. The one I got was faulty, sound comes out mono unless you wiggle it around a bit - and when you do get stereo to come out, it sounds worse than the unit that came w/ my headphones. Must be a loose connection or something inside the adapter.

I'd return it, but considering how cheap it was, probably not worth the effort. I'd be wary next time though. - Adapters - Casio Keyboard - Audio Cables - Audio'

Hewlett-packard - hp, finance calculator

Why would you buy a 1980's calculator? Because it provides the best combination of form and function. While other calculators have gone high-end and become curiosities of mathematics and graphics, HP's customers do not want to let go of the 12-C, despite the fact that HP has more powerful calculators at a slightly larger price. Here's why I think: Just the right set of features. The average Joe using a financial calculator needs no more than the HP-12C provides. Sturdy and strong. The keys have a wonderful feel. Fits in a shirt pocket. Very reliable. They've had two decades to iron out any bugs. Large user base. Most financial courses will use this as the calculator of choiceBuy this calculator, if you need a financial calculator. You will not regret it -- I daresay that it will still be around when your kids need their own calculators. HP 12c Financial Calculator (12C#ABA)

I've been using this calculator so long, over fifteen years, that I can't imagine working without it. When I bought this thing it was alone in the field of financial calculators and the 12C is still the standard by which other calculators are judged. It has become the standard "tool of the trade" for financial professional types. I have a senior position with a leading money management firm and I require all of my financial analysts to learn how to master this tool. Learning to master the functions is like taking a review course in finance. The calculator can be used for a variety of financial functions including calendar (day count), interest, cash flow, IRR, compounding, NPV, standard deviation, weighted average, simple programming and more. The calculator is nearly indestructible which can be very handy when a trade goes against you and the calculator is suddenly flying across a trading room. The calculator has a nice form factor, the buttons are easy to use, it fits in a shirt pocket, and it has an auto shut off for battery conservation. There are other calculators available from HP such as the 10B for about a third the price and the 17B for about the same price. The 10B is inferior to the 12C and I see little reason to buy it. The 17B has greater functionality than the 12C, but I feel it is harder to master, harder to navigate, and it does not fit in a shirt pocket. However, the 17B does allow users to work in standard algebraic or RPN modes. The 12 works only in RPN (Reverse Polish Notation) which can be difficult to get used to. For example using RPN to add 1 and 2 you enter 1 <Enter key> 2 <Plus key>. In simple algebraic notation the key sequence is 1 <Plus key> 2 <= or enter key>. The difference is that with RPN you enter the operation (plus, minus, etc.) after you enter the values. With simple algebraic you enter the operation between the values.Overall, this is the "industry standard" calculator for financial professionals and is recommended by AIMR for people taking the CFA exam. I would not recommend this calculator for casual home use as it does take some time to master, but once mastered it is a very powerful tool.

Calculators may seem a bit "dated" in this age of Palm Pilots and PC's, but when you have to do a lot of calculations and you don't have a spreadsheet on a laptop handy, a good calculator is invaluable.

If you calculate mortgages, compound interest, amortization or any of the common functions in finance on a regular basis, you can't go wrong with this classic calculator, long a standard of the industry. The 120 built-in functions are easy to use and well explained by the manual. Don't see a function you need? You can enter your own mathematical function, too.

If you DON'T do financial calculations regularly, but are in school for anything but science, this is also a great choice. You can even learn a lot about financial calculations just from the manual. (For science students and scientists, HP makes a scientific version calculator with statistical functions instead of financial ones.)

If you are a regular person looking for a calculator, I REALLY recommend this one--we all borrow money (car loans, house mortgages) now and then. And RPN, Reverse Polish Notation is SO logical and easy to use once you practice. (Simply put, to add two plus two = four, you enter 2 [enter], 2+ and the answer is there. VERY fast for long calculations, like balancing a checkbook.)

I find that the horizontal design (wider than long) is extremely comfortable to hold. And the 12C is very rugged. I used to know a guy from HP who was a rep for the calculator division. He'd demo them by slamming the HP12C against the wall, and then daring the rep from the Big Lone Star State Instruments firm to do the same with theirs. No contest.

This is "the calculator that wouldn't die". There were several other excellent HP calculators in this same series, including the HP-11C and HP-15C (scientific calculators) and the HP-16C (the only Computer Science calculator ever made), all of which shared RPN functionality (think of RPN as an adding machine on steroids), programmability, extremely long battery life (measured in years, not months), a sturdy case and keypad, and the perfect size, weight and ergonomics. Unfortunately, the rest of this line was discontinued by the end of the 80's in favor of fancier models. (I own an HP-11C and an HP-16C as well as an HP-12C; they're all excellent calculators. Used HP-16C models often sell for more than the original list price, they're in such demand.)So why is the HP-12C still around, virtually unchanged from its introduction in the 80's? Because Finance people are VERY conservative, and they just kept buying the 12C because that's what their mentors used, that's what classes were teaching with, and that's where the most help and information is available. They simply ignored newer, fancier models of financial calculators because the 12C already worked so well that nobody needed or wanted anything better! Sure, they're imported these days instead of being made in the USA as the original units were, but the design is unchanged. The packaging has changed, but the user manual has not. This calculator is a classic, destined to remain with us for many years... - Calculator - Hp - Hp12c - Finance Calculator'
