Garmin Accessories - gps mount, garmin mount

Of course I got a mount with my Garmin 205w, but I wanted to use it in two vehicles. I bought the extra one to use in my work truck when needed. It just makes is one less item to forget to get when transferring the unit back and forth between the two vehicles. ChargerCity GPS Garmin Nuvi Windshield ball & socket suction cup mount & Bracket unit holster bundle for Garmin nuvi 200 200W 205 205W 250 250W 255 255W 260 260W 265T 265WT 270 275T 285 285w 285t 285wt (Direct Replacement Warranty)

Beware of this product, I mounted the suction to my windshield and as soon as I put it on the suction piece broke off from the mount. I normally don't complain, but to have a product break in less than 5 minutes of having it in my hands is frustrating at best.

Do not buy anything from this seller.

My Garmin Vehicle Suction Cup Mount, which I bought from this company when it delivered it was strange that the protective foil on the holder as a stripped and restored.

When I tried to put the equipment in the same car was dropped after 2-3 minutes.

I tried to clean it and ask for another glass but again dropped.

Obviously someone has returned a product that was later sold to me.

Truly pathetic and miserable for 5-6 $

I can't really complain much because the cost (not incl shipping) was a few cents, but, MAN, they really don't make them like they used to. I'm not going to deal with it any more. I'm just going to buy a whole new friction holder/stand.

This suction mount is strongly holds in place just as well or better than the original that came with my Garmin device. The technical description on Amazon.com included a disc mount but I didn't receive a disc mount with my package. So I emailed the seller, and they promptly apologized and sent me a disc mount for the dashboard. Excellent customer service!

Item appears identical to factory unit. GPS fits perfectly into it. the factory unit "pulled" apart from the suction cup after about a year. this unit failed 4 months after purchase. Usage was occasional, at best. I have no choice but to purchase another one. hope it lasts longer though.

I had thrown away my original one, thought I would never use it. Stupid me. Anyways, I ordered this one. Was packaged in a bubble envelope, took it out, snapped the ball into the socket, suctioned it to my window, works beautifully. It's harder to get off of the window than it was to put it in there. :) - Gps Mount - Garmin Mount - Dashboard Mount - Garmin Nuvi 200'

Self Defense - self defense, fighting

I highly recommend this book to anyone. As a civilian who dabbled sparingly in martial arts most recently over a decade ago, I am in no way an expert in anything that is contained in this book except for the fact that I have been a victim of violent crime. Any one of us could be the next victim of violence and the ideas that Sgt. Miller proposes on preparing yourself to survive assault should be basic lessons for anyone wanting to learn self-defense. Being aware of your surroundings, knowing your E&E routes, understanding that if someone hits you, you will freeze, and understanding that to an assaulter, you are just a piece of meat standing between what he wants and you have. These lessons are important, and in all the self-defense classes for women I've seen, only the first of that list has even been mentioned.

Sections 3 and 4 were enlightening into a realm of human experience I am profoundly grateful that I do not have to deal with or even think about for a vast majority of my life. I am very grateful to the small group of individuals who deal with the criminal aspect of our society and create that opaque veil that shields us from ever having to deal with the thought of humans enjoying hurting and killing others of their species. Law and Policy Makers should really read this section and try to understand it. Then ask the question: Are we making our society better with our incarceration system?

Finally, on a very personal note I found Section 6 to be insightful for its practical look at the problems of training. I am one of those survivor-students that looked for an Instructor to teach me how to never be raped again. I tried Tae Kwon Do, Shotokan Karate and finally Jiu-Jitsu trying to find an instructor that could give me that peace of mind. Sgt. Miller articulates why I couldn't find what I sought quite nicely in section 6. I never found anyone that I could trust in a MA Instructor, and turned to Counseling instead, where I found the peace I needed to rewrite my "self-story". Meditations on Violence: A Comparison of Martial Arts Training & Real World Violence

I'd always had a nagging feeling about my martial arts training; though there was no question it was good for my health, I was never too sure it was really relevant to self defense. The scenarios we practiced had nothing in common with the (few) *actual* violent encounters I had witnessed, which were short, brutish, and entirely unfair. (And for some reason didn't involve "Needle to Sea Bottom" or a Gracie-esque arm bar.) Since I live a pretty staid life, my training never gets tested.

Which is unlike the author of this book -- a jail guard involved in physical confrontations on a near daily basis. In this book Rory Miller pretty much devastates the notion that what goes on in most martial arts classes has anything in common with the fights and strategies he's observed in his work. He details types of confrontations, the people likely to be involved in them, and strategies they're using, and the often critical flaws in the way students are "prepared" for them by movies or the dojo.

As such, this is pretty much required reading for anyone taking or teaching martial arts for self-defense.

He doesn't offer a specific training program as a solution -- which is kind of the point. He's asking the reader to chew on the facts, not the fantasies. Fights aren't likely to be fair, or resemble sparring sessions. But they do have predictable participants, patterns and dynamics -- from the "Group Monkey Dance" to the "permission" that people give themselves to go on or give up.

It's a very particular reality he's describing; the book is pretty much a straight download from the author's life and brain. Though some academic or journalistic perspective (stats, references, etc) would have strengthened the thesis a little, the personal mode gives the book a direct style that's somehow authoritative and modest at the same time. There's a real clarity of effort here that reminded me of The Book of Five Rings (Shambhala Classics) -- with a bit of analogy and personal poetry replacing Musashi's occasional lapses into secrecy and obscurity. Miller is able to deliver a parable (say, about blind men and an elephant) or a personal revelation without belaboring it.

That style might be the most interesting aspect of the book for a reader like me -- who wants a good read as much as good info. Though Miller (uncharacteristically) pulls a punch in the very last paragraph of the book, there's a voice here I want to hear a lot more from -- even, or maybe especially, if it has nothing to do with spilt blood.

At the beginning of this exceptional book is a black and white photograph of a bathroom with a swirl of sticky-looking muck on the floor and a few little droplets splattered across the side of the toilet. Since there is no color it takes a moment to realize what you are looking at, but this mess is clearly human blood, a LOT of human blood. You don't know what happened but it was obviously something awful. A slowly drying pool of blood is not what one might expect to find at the beginning of a typical martial arts book, but then again real-life violence is not a subject that martial artists typically understand or write about.

Like a pool of blood, violence is a very sobering subject; one that must be treated seriously in order to do any good. Meditations on Violence certainly fits that bill. It is a refreshingly frank, honest, and in-depth assessment that teaches readers how to think critically about the subject, determine how to evaluate sources of knowledge, and understand how to identify strategies and select tactics to deal with violence effectively.

As a corrections officer and tactical team leader Miller regularly tangles with hard-core predators. He describes his job this way: "I beat people up for a living. I can pretty the phrase up a lot, but in the end I get paid (and paid well) to go into a situation, usually alone and usually outnumbered by sixty or more criminals, and maintain order."

This is a guy who routinely survives brutal encounters that would leave the average person physically and emotionally shattered. Unlike most martial arts instructors, he has first-hand experience that separates longstanding myths and heroic fantasies from merciless reality. Using interesting personal vignettes backed up by solid research and undisputable logic he conveys this hard-earned wisdom in a highly effective manner. His insights on how to make self-defense work and overcome subconscious resistance to meeting violence with violence could very well save a reader's life one day.

While the author's no-nonsense tone can be a bit "street" and his examples a bit graphic at times, his psychology degree shines throughout the writing as well. This combination makes for a fascinating read. One of the best features of the book is an informative matrix that addresses various types of violence, demonstrating how they differ from each other and how the lessons from one type may not apply to the needs of another. Other important topics include the dynamics of violence, predator mindset, adapting training to the realities of violence, making physical defense work, and the after-effects a sudden assault or long-term exposure to a violent environment.

Miller's book is extraordinarily well written. Packed with interesting, informative and, most importantly, useful information, Meditations on Violence should be required reading for all serious martial artists, law enforcement officers, security professionals, and anyone else who might have to deal with violence in some capacity. It is illuminating and very likely lifesaving as well.

Stetson Caps - driving cap, flat cap

Do want a hat that you can wear with semi-casual clothes for both work and play?

Are you concerned that hats make you look heavier than you do without one? (Google "Fat Guy Hat" for a fun Homer Simpson video)

Do you live in a warmer climate, or get hot too quickly in most hats?

If you answered yes to one or more of these questions, then this hat is for you!

This is a 65% Poly/35% Rayon lightweight hat with a mesh liner and very breathable fabric. If your not familiar with this style of cap, it's pretty much just a low profile baseball style cap with fabric going almost all the way to the end of the bill (but not to the very end, so it provides an easily finger hold for putting on and taking off the hat). This color works well with all shades of tans, browns and even greens.

I ordered the Large size and it fits my 7.5" hat size perfectly. If your hat size is much larger than that, you may want to hold off, as it is a non-adjustable band. (If you're slightly under, it should work ok, and you could always sew a small stitch into it take it up a bit.)

If you order this hat, you might want to brush up on your British Cockney accent, as I find it difficult not to speak like that when wearing this hat! (I'm sure that will pass in a few days).

As a heavy guy who is heat sensitive and dresses in semi-casual tan business attire, this is the perfect hat for me!

BTW: the vendor (currently E-Hats) shipped it very quickly via priority mail from CA and emailed shipping confirmation and tracking info... A+ for E-hats!. Fashion Plaid Ivy Cap - Brown W11S69D

I bought this hat for my husband and he loved it very much! We traveled to Germany and he wore it the whole two weeks. But on the last night, he left it in a restaurant. I reordered the hat(it came super fast!), and he's been wearing it ever since. It's lightweight, breathable and fits him really well. Nice quality and a good looking hat!

Great item! I was very happy with quality and appearance. Cap is really cute. I bought this for my daughter to wear for a school costume/music performance and we both loved it. I have even worn it too. Great product - would buy again!

It took me a lot of trial and error to find a cap I liked, this one is just right.

Many caps are too flimsy, the silk ones for example are impossible to work with and bet bunched up,

Kagol's tend to be too stiff and uncomfortable, this one is perfect.

Just got this cap as a gift from my Amazon Wish List. After carefully reading the reviews and sizing instructions, I put down a medium size, but when it came it was too big, even though every hat that I own but one is a medium. That one is a large. So now I hope to exchange it. Not sure if it was a fluke at the factory or what, but there you go. - Hats - Flat Cap - Flat Caps - Driving Cap'

Coleman Grill - coleman, grill

This works fairly well except that if your grill isn't very level then the slots/vents on the edges can "swallow" what you're cooking. We've found that in most cases it's better to use the stove grate accessory with a pan on top of that. Don't even think of cooking bacon on it (all the grease will run to the openings and give you a fire, we've used it for toasting bagels or warming up other items. Overall it's good, but not great. Coleman Road Trip Cast-Iron Griddle

This is a perfect partner to the Road Trip Grill! It great for breakfast! Pancakes, Toast, Bacon, eggs & every other breakfast goodie! Its also great for fajhita meat! It is a must have for any type of camping outing!

I really wanted to like this product more, and I have the grill to blame for part of it. This griddle has a number of large slit-like holes along the edges, which is fine if you're using any highly viscous materials like pancake batter or something. But if you use oil or other thin/watery foods, it'll run right down into the burners. I grilled onions with oil the other day for my polish sausages and dropped a good 2 tbs of oil in the grill before giving in and using spray intermittently. The onions eventually grilled up OK, but of course thanks to the stove-like effect of the grill the middle burned like crazy.

Overall a fun addition to the grill as it makes it more versatile, but like the grill itself it could use a much better design.

Purchased this grill to go with our Roadtrip Grill experience. I agree with other reviews, it's a MUST to accompany your Coleman grill. The only "wish" I have is that it was open castiron vs. the porcelin coating. Cleanup is still easy, I'm just old fashioned and like seasoning my own cookware. The jury is still out on the grease slots. Like any clean up, it'll take some getting used to. Would have given a '5' if it was open castiron. Still a "grate" accessory to camping! :-)

I love cast iron. It won't leave bits of non stick coating in your food. It distributes the heat very well, and cleans up with little effort. It is very heavy, but well worth the extra carrrying weight. - Grill - Coleman - Camping - Gas Grill'

Mini Camp Stove - camping stove, mini camp stove

Coghlan's folding stove is a nice stove for camping with Sterno type burners or for an emergency kit.

I also own a Sterno brand camping stove, so I'll do a quick comparison:

The stoves are the same size - about 7" square by about a half inch when folded. This one's design is clearly based on the Sterno one as it has a similar opening which the Sterno stove uses both to leave room for the burner and also to brace the burner. The Coghlan version doesn't brace the burner at all, but it does have a shallow circular indention in the base to allow the burner to sit relatively securely (by which I mean that the burner won't slip unless you move the stove).

The Coghlan stove is made of stamped metal - it feels like tin or aluminium. Sterno's is also tin or aluminium but Sterno's is bent, not stamped. This means that the Sterno stove has lots of sharp edges - not good. This one is all rounded corners - this makes it less likely to get bent out of shape and also you're less likely to cut yourself on it if you're rummaging around your pack in the dark. A big point for Coghlan's stove.

Coghlan's stove folds completely flat and stays that way, which is nice. The Sterno brand folds flat too - if you force it. If you leave the Sterno stove to its own devices though part of it pops up at a 45 degree angle. Not a huge deal, but it means it's a negative point and a positive point for Coghlan's stove.

The Sterno stove is silver while the Coghlan version has been spray-painted black all over. It looks good but inside it's going to absorb heat rather than reflect it - not good - the oven may get too hot to touch and it may not heat the food as efficiently as the Sterno version. Basically, you need to sandblast that black coating off the side panels if you want it to reflect heat. The Sterno is the winner on this score.

Unfortunately, this stove doesn't place the burner precisely below the opening - not a big deal but mildly annoying as it's evidence of poor design. Also, the access panel easily pops open if the stove is not perfectly level. Not really a big deal - but it's something to be aware of.

Someday I would like to see a smaller stove. Sterno cans are only 3.5" wide, so I see no reason for the stoves to be larger. It would be easy to make an inexpensive stove that was about 4 x 2x 1/8" with three flat pieces that were connected at a single hinge and opened out to sit on top of the Sterno burner's top lip. There's really no reason for one of these stoves to be any bigger, and I will miss the extra space that this stove takes up in my pack. I guess I could always make my own.

All-in-all, the Coghlan stove is the better stove out of the two. Its flaws are either negligible or fixable. All it needs is a quick sandblasting to remove the black finish on the inside and it will perform as well or better than its competition. I think it's bigger than it needs to be, but then again there's nothing smaller on the market that I can find, so until something smaller and better comes along, this stove works. 4 stars out of 5. Coghlan's Folding Stove

This stove is made to fold flat, and that's what it does best. The 'hook' to keep it upright is shallow and unseats itself with just a puff of breeze, plus the hinges are very loose. Ours collapsed while we were cooking a small pan of soup. Someone lightly bumped the picnic table and the stove promptly folded, sending soup all over the tabletop. In my opinion it isn't stable enough to be used by kids and precarious to use even by adults.

Having said that, if you taped the hinges in place and didn't worry about refolding it, it is handy. It's bigger than the Esbit and could handle larger, heavier pots. We used Esbit fuel in it and Sterno could be used as well. It would also work for warming or a fondue pot, but again, I would recommend stabilizing it in some way.

This stove works great. Some other reviews had problems because they didn't properly put it together: the tray that holds the fuel locks unto the two sides and holds it in place. The weight of the fuel and the tray lock the sides down. I was able to carry it, lit with boiling water on top, with one hand without worrying about it. Its a great product that should work in every case. The hinges are cheap looking, but they have held firm so far. I prefer this stove over the Sterno stove that is ubiquitous in the camping world.

Great Stove.

I'm really glad I got one of these. We go camping with a fairly large group of friends once or twice a year, and I always do my camping over the fire. On one particularly rainy morning, that left us at the mercy of friends with camp stoves. I realized the value in a stove then, but I was just frustrated with the idea of YET ANOTHER PIECE OF EQUIPMENT.

So I started researching for my smallest option before the next camping trip and decided this was so affordable that it was worth a try. It's EXACTLY what I needed. While there's no way I'm going to be cooking up a big pot of chili on this thing, I've boiled water for oatmeal, percolated coffee, and fried up sausages in my little aluminum pan. In fact, this thing is perfectly sized for those little backpacker's mess kits. Just remember that this isn't a big flame, so you wouldn't cook large quantities of of food or water over it.

Someone commented that it folds up on itself too easily. I've not had that problem. You should probably avoid bumping it much, but normal use has yet to cause it to collapse. It's fairly stable as long as it's on a flat surface. It does, however, fold up quite nicely. Gel fuel cans are also pretty compact, but read the label to find out how many burning hours you should be able to get out of it. Some brands last longer than others.

A great little stove that folds up to less than 1/2" thick. Using Coghlan's camp heat as fuel, and an aluminum pot I brought to a strong simmer 16 oz. of water hot enough for tea, or freeze dried pouches in 12 min. The outdoor temperature was 52 degrees, and about 5 mph winds. This is a well made, sturdy product that delivers - Mini Camp Stove - Backpacking - Survival - Camping Stove'

This was near perfect, it was a nice affordable price and I just have to say it's an AMAZING product. I had free shipping with my black beanie so that was good. The only downside was when I contacted customer service, they replied a few days after my inquiry.. it was longer than I expected but at least they replied back, right? :) New Solid Winter Long Beanie - Black

the beanie is rele cool. i got royal blue and it is a bit darker than it looks online. im happy with it. there is just one major problem with it.... its too long!! I bought it thinkin itd be about 9 or 10 inches long. but its about 13 or 14 inches long. i washed and dried mine to make it shrink. it helped a bit. i wish they would have put the measurement on there before i bought a royal blue and a black one. i like it tho. i wish there was a medium sized beanie tho.. besides the length im happy with it.

Surprise, surprise, who would have thunk it? What you see is exactly what you get. It fits my head and keeps it warm. And for that I was satisfied. What more can you ask for? It also arrived from seller in a very timely manner. For this price you really can't beat it. - Skull Cap'

Photography Book - photography book, leica lens

This book might be called an advanced basics book if there is such a thing. It explains some important technical information about how lenses are judged by optic designers for contrast quality. I've read a number of Leica books and have not found this information presented in this fascinating way anywhere else.

The book discusses different lens use situations such as for landscapes, portraits, etc. suggesting possible lens sizes for each. SLR Leica focusing bellows, macro adapter, photar close-up lenses, extenders, and telescope eyepiece are covered. Lens/distance perspective is explained.

A number of useful charts are included such as the ratio's between different lens lengths. A short review of all current (as of 1993) Leica R and M lenses is in the back. Some of these basics books are a just an overview and bore but I think this one is a step above in that it covers a lot of material including some insight into when to use a given lens. I say it is worth the money unless you are an old timer who already knows it all.

Discusses the uses of lenses most. The full historical line of lenses is not presented but only those current at the time of publication. Leica Lens Practice: Choosing and Using Leica Lenses

I bought an M8 a few months ago and wanted to learn more about the older Leica lenses. If you are an M user forget this book. It only covers lenses current at the year the book was written, anything before that is not mentioned. A grand total of 12 M lenses are described in a book 192 pages long. Most of the book is about the R system as it apparently had more lenses. Much better info is available free on line. - Leica Lens - Photography Book'

Strawberry Shortcake - playroom, kid game

I bought this for my five year old daughter. This is a side scroller with 3D graphics. Because of this, the controls are not always intuitive - you really only have the choice of left or right even when it looks like the character is moving away and toward you on the screen. Also, even on the easiest setting, there are a number of near-split-second timed jumping and turning challenges that most five year olds are simply not going to be up to. She has fun playing it, but only if I'm right there beside her to help through the frequent difficult spots. If your child still loves Strawberry Shortcake at the age of 7 or so, this might not be a bad choice. I wouldn't get it for a younger child. Strawberry Shortcake: Sweet Dreams Game

My four year old neice loves this game an awful lot. She does seek my help at times for she is only four! Even though she gets frustrated she still enjoys it. I recommend this game for kids older than three though!

My daughter is almost 4 and wanted so badly to play her older brothers' PlayStation 2. So, we got her this game. She adores Strawberry Shortcake. This game is a little over her head in some spots but she can do a lot with it. We like that it will grow with her. Her brothers (7 and 9) like to play it too. They say they were just helping her, but they actually like it. I would say this is a great buy for 4-8 year olds, depending on their love of Strawberry Shortcake.

**Also, Dora's Purple Planet is another winner for us.**

i just love this game! me and my brother have a black ps2 and we have 26 game for it. i bought this game when we were going to castlerock, because it was the day the toy store was closing at the toys section. so dad said we could get two games, i was so excied! usually grant, my brother, takes longer than me to pick a game. i picked out two games called bratz the movie and and this game. by brother got a game called drive to survive. he only got one game. but he didn't mind, i couldn't wait to try out my games. but it was grant's turn to play his game. after that i was so excited to try out my game it was aaaaaaaaawwwwwwwweeeeeeeesssssoooommmmmm!i looooooooooooove this game!

I purchased this for my then 6 year old daughter. She absolutely loved this game!

It has multiple levels of play, and once you collect enough seeds, you can unlock different characters to play.

A good game for the 5-8 year old.

My daughter is just in love with this game. She normally can not sit still for more than 30 minutes at a time and then has to move on to something else. Not the case with this game, she has been playing it for hours and just loves it.

I ordered this game (and also Dora's Journey to the Purple Planet) for my 4 year old daughter and was very upset to discover that neither of these games could be played on my PS2 system - they both have the "blue backing". I called Sony and the guy said that some of the earlier PS2 systems could not read some the games that were formatted with the blue backing. He mentioned that these games were originally formatted to the original PS system. I was told that I would have to send my PS2 system to Sony and for $45 they would send me a refirbished unit within 7-10 days of receipt. All of our other games work fine so we decided to return the two video games and purchase something else. I wish the companies would indicate the "blue backing" or mention that some games might not work with all gaming system models (mine is the earlier model). Supposedly, with the later models, this isn't a problem. Anyway, I'm sure it is a cute game but I didn't get a chance to find out.

This game is great for smaller children. My daughter is 6 and she can play this game all by herself. She really enjoys it. There are a couple parts of the game where she needs help, but that is it. This was a good buy for her.

I am a 21 year old advanced gamer and had a good challenge helping my little sisters with this game. There is something so soothing about the melody that plays in that one purple-ish dark level that drew me in, anyway my sisters and i liked this game even though i am out of its targeted audience.

My oldest sister, aged 5, also loved the game and I've never seen her more focused on a video game outside of the Kirby and Super Mario series, with the the other games that we bought them they would play on and off for a few days then loose interest and only play them on rare occasions but this game lasted for a good 3 weeks before interest was lost and that's a success in my book.

all-in-all i believe that with a few twists, tweaks, and fine tuning that this series can become a hit series for kids of all ages. Another great game that my sisters loved was Pokemon rumble for the wiis virtual console due to its simplicity.

Edit: sorry for the lack of other details and game specifics as its been a while since I've played this game and my memory of it is quite vague. - Kid Game - Ps2 Kid Games - Playroom - Ps2 Games'
