Canon Digital Camera

I use three batteries in rotation, as I am frequently travelling in places where there is no electricity. When I traded in my old PowerShot S410 for a new PowerShot SD750 I took a chance on buying two generic batteries ($12 instead of $42).

Both generics were slightly less than perfect, in that they would regularly activate the 'low battery' icon/light even when they were fully charged. Occasionally, they would even evoke the 'change battery' message. On these occasions I had to open the battery compartment, partially remove the battery, then re-install it, in which case I could now proceed to take pictures with the same battery.

My sense was that the total battery life of the generics was not dramatically shorter than the Canon original, although I did not attempt to measure this precisely.

As soon as I was able (about a month after I bought them, as I was travelling at the time) I returned the generics to Amazon and paid full price for the Canon original. Although the generics could be 'worked around' it wasn't worth it to me, as I discovered I was more interested in taking photos than in saving $30 (times 2). Canon NB-4L Lithium-Ion Battery (3.7v 760mAh) Li-Ion Battery for Canon SD1400IS, SD940IS, SD960IS and Other Select Canon Digital Cameras

This is the exact same battery that came with my Canon SD200 camera (digital elph). I wanted to have a spare, and while you can find the replacement batteries (generics) for about 1/2 the price I really didn't want to risk anything going wrong by using any other type of battery. It takes a charge well and has a nice life to it, I am satisfied.

The value of having a second camera battery cannot be overestimated because the battery cannot be charged on the camera on most models. Swapping out batteries gives you continuous coverage and if you have a 2 Gig memory you can take a thousand pictures should you choose to do so. Moreover, the battery has a neat little cap with a built-in indicator which allows you to easily tell a depleted battery from a fully-charged one and eliminates the chance of spare change in your pocket or purse from shorting out the terminals. Strongly suggest you have one of these.

It's hard to beat an OEM battery at about half the price you would have to pay at a local big box store. I have experienced satisfactory charge and run time for this battery in my Canon SD600.

One thing to note: This was ordered with the "Super Saver Shipping". No problem, but I did notice like many other Amazon reviewers, that the order was listed as "shipped" almost a week before it actually entered the mail system. Amazon tracking said "shipped" but USPS tracking said they had been notified of a pickup request but that the item was not yet in their posession. And, as it turns out, wouldn't be for another 5 days. Anyway, the point is that there is a slightly misleading perception being generated by Amazon that your order is on it's way when in fact it is really sitting on their loading dock (or elsewhere) waiting for a weekly bulk pickup. And once it is "shipped", according to them, you can't cancel it, no matter how long it takes for a courier to actually pick it up off the dock.

If you are in need of a handy back up or replacement battery for your Canon camera, order this. I have purchased the "knock off" batteries claiming to be as good as the original for 1/2 the price, but beware, you get 1/16 of the battery life! The "compatible" batteries do not hold a charge well at all and I unfortunately found out the hard way, on vacation with no charger around. The compatibles were useless, I almost thought I hadn't fully charged two extra "compatible" batteries, but when I returned home and attempted to charge them, they both lasted long enough for the camera to power on even after the charger gave them a green light! I won't hammer the name of the compatibles due to the possibility of some fluke, but I wouldn't risk any of them.

I just recently purchased the Canon SD 1000 camera and wanted a spare battery to cary. I also have an older Canon camera and when I wanted a spare back-up battery I bought a brand other than Canon. The off brand battery did not last as long as the Canon battery.

This time when I wanted a spare battery I bought the Canon as opposed to a cheaper off brand.

I am looking forward to equal quality performance of both batteries.

I would quess the old saying ,"You get what you pay for",would apply here. norrlip

It's just a battery, right? I ordered it and received it quickly, and it works as advertised. I suppose it's not that complicated.

I would add that I do have a preference for Canon brand batteries over the generics. Although they are so much cheaper, it just isn't worth it when you discover that they don't hold as muh of a charge and deteriorate more quickly over time.'

High Failure Rate - dvd, dvd dual layer

Updated review, 4-17-2011 (These discs are NO LONGER reliable! Do not buy!)

Although I gave this Kodak DVR+R DL product a rave review last year, I CANNOT continue to recommend it, because it is no longer reliable. I kept the same 5-star rating, in the hope that more people will read the positive reviews to compare with now mostly negative reviews, and see my updated comments here. At least, they would know that this product used to be good.

Looking at the wrapper, it is now manufactured in India. The discs I bought last year were made in China.

Using DVD Identifier, it reports the following:

Unique Disc Identifier : [DVD+R-DL:MBIPG101-R10-065]

Disc & Book Type : [DVD+R DL] - [DVD+R DL]

Manufacturer Name : [Moser Baer India Ltd.]

Manufacturer ID : [MBIPG101]

Media Type ID : [R10]

Product Revision : [065]

Blank Disc Capacity : [4,173,824 Sectors = 8.55 GB (7.96 GiB)]

Recording Speeds : [2.4x , 3.3x-8x]

I was irked by the large number of negative reviews for this product when I was about to buy it for the second time last week. Not wanting to believe that it is the case, I ordered it anyway. After a few failed trial burns, now I know the discs no longer have the high reliability of the past. The discs I bought last year were 100% reliable.

(Old review, 8-28-2010, please disregard)

(Old review title, please disregard) Inexpensive and Problem-Free Kodak DVD+R DL discs

Regardless of brand, the majority of optical discs are currently made in Taiwan and China. I have not encountered any problem using these Kodak-branded discs. My logic is that major brands would require certain quality standards be met before they will allow their brand to be stamped on the discs. I don't have to worry about where these discs are made, as long as they perform without problems. Kodak 50121 8.5 GB DVD+R DL (50 Pack Cake Box)

I was rather weiry making this purchase because they seemed so cheap compared to the others, but the name made me think otherwise. Used every one of them, not one coaster, they all worked perfectly, and they are CHEAP!

I bought these discs just last week and everyone I've tried was a coaster. The burn would start off fine but half way through it would give an error. I normally use Verbatim dvd dl which were 100% all 50 but tried this because of the price. I have learned may lesson. I should have thought something when I saw them all over the internet at such a low price. Well you get what you pay for. Using liteOn shw 1635s dvd drive turn away now if you have this drive.

so based on those good reviews, I decided to take risk and give this a try. a HUGE disappointment! I bought the 25 dvd set and 6 dvd failed so far. that is unacceptable. I used to use amazon basics. there were coasted discs but not many compared to this brand. will never buy this again. now Im gunna buy verbatim....

1 disc out of every 5 actually finialized with imgburn. I have never had any problems with dl-dvd's before I bought these. I tried burning with a lite-on and toshiba drive both gave errors during finializing.

This is the first time I've purchased these particular blank DVDs, but have purchased many in the past. Although I've only burned a few, so far the burning has not failed. However, I hate the hyper-busy logo decal on the label side. I don't print labels for my DVDs, I just use a Sharpee, but it's almost impossible to see what I've written because there's just so much crap on the disc. I can get over the bright yellow background color, but did they really need to print the Kodak name 1000 times? There's barely any room to write on the disc that is clear enough to read.

Anyway, these might burn great, but I won't be buying them again... - Dual Layer - Dvd Dl - Dvd - Dvd Dual Layer'

Optical Cable

As stated in other reviews, bits are bits. If they get from one system component to another, you're doing just as well with a $5 cable as a $60 one. Monster and other companies are ripping consumers off with gobbledeygook buzzwords designed to obscure the mind and open the pocketbook.

I have installed this cable in my system, and its performance delivering 5.1 channel audio and DTS from my PS3 to my receiver is flawless. It performs identically to the other more expensive optical cable I have.

As of my last check of this product page, $1.31 as a list price and $2.98 for shipping makes for a total of $4.29. This is an outrageously good deal, beating even many other discount outlets. If you have a receiver that uses optical digital for audio input (as opposed to HDMI, which most newer receivers utilize), you simply can't go wrong. A definite must-buy at this price. Toslink Digital Optical Audio Cable 6 ft.

I recieved one of these toslink optical cables so I could connect my xbox advanced A/V adapter to my digital suround sound receiver. It worked just fine. In my opinion it doesn't make sense to get esoteric about optical cables for home Audio/Video applications. Save yourself the money.

Either a cable is going to carry the bits from one end to the other, or it isn't. Optical doesn't need fancy stuff like gold plated contacts (yes, there are vendors who make optical cables with gold-plated contacts!). This inexpensive cable works great, and is going to sound every bit as good as a TOSLINK cable that costs 10x as much.

OK, First of all I have to say that even though many people say that it does the job (which it does) it is extremely unacceptable to put a picture of a product and to sell another. That being said, I agree that the product did the job, but I had to do some work on one of the sides of the cable because it does not have the correct adapter.

Imagine that you get your product, you connect to your Playstation 3 or DVD Player or whatever. You see that it fits, it works, but then you see the other side of the cable and it is different, when you try to connect that to your home theater you realize it will never "click" so you need to put some silly putty or invisible tape to keep the cable in its place!! do you think that is acceptable? I think it is definitely not!

I know the product is cheap and I shouldn't expect a lot from it, but the least I expect is that the product I see in the picture is the same product I get by mail.

This was a very cheap optical cable. I have purchase other inexpensive optical cables before and they work fine. This one is just cheap. The connectors are just a bit to small, so instead of snapping into the receptacle they just fall out. I was able to wrap the end with some plumbers thread tape to get it to stay put. This cable will be replaced as soon as possible.

I used this cable to connect my DVD player to the receiver and what a difference in sound quality. I agree with other reviewers, thought this cable is non-brand name, there is no difference in quality of the sound.

It's an optical cable... as long as it isn't cracked and signal goes through sound will be great. It worked for me. No need to spend more! Shipping was high ($6) but price was good ($3.99). I didn't have to spend gas money to drive to store and pay $20 for same thing. If you need an optical cable... buy this! 6' was good for me... My theory is always get it longer than you need!

Update 7-9-2010

I thought this was significant enough to justify adding an update at the very top of the review. In my Update of 7-3-2010 I said I had decided to order another Optical Cable from Eforcity just to see what they were sending and see how it compared with the cable I got from SF Planet. That cable came in this morning and I can now see how the varying reviews can be explained, at least in part. The cable from Eforcity appeared identical to the cable reviewed in the video; it was much larger and had the caps for the ends of the cable on a small plastic strap attached to the cable for use when the cable wasn't plugged in. It is also much larger in diameter with larger plug assemblies.

I decided to try and make a comparison test of the two cables and decided to use a sound level meter to see if the smaller diameter cable from SF Planet caused any signal attenuation. To do this I selected a test CD which had a test tone recorded at 1,000 cps at - 0 decibels. I played the signal over my stereo system and adjusted the volume so that the sound level meter, a Radio Shack Model 33-2050, was showing a sound level of 80 decibels.

I left everything exactly the same except I switched over to the Eforcity cable and played the tone again; the meter showed exactly the same sound level, 80 decibels. It would appear there is no attenuation when using the SF Planet cable. I'll admit the cable from Eforcity looks a great deal more impressive, and more like what I expected from the beginning but I cannot detect any audible difference.

They both locked in and made good connections to the equipment, so there's no practical difference there. I will admit that I'm going to leave the Eforcity cable installed and keep the SF Planet cable as a reserve.

Original Review

I received my optical cable from SF Planet and was amazed by how thin it was; this cable was much smaller in diameter than any other optical cable I have ever seen. It looks nothing like the picture and does not conform to the descriptions given in some other reviews. I have to believe I either got an aberrant cable or the product line has been changed across the board.

Having noted that, I have installed the cable and it seems to be working just fine; I have no real problem with the diameter of the cable if it does its job and it does seem to be doing its job, I was simply surprised by its appearance.

If something unusual develops I will update this review; I just thought it important to let the prospective buyer know that a product entirely different in appearance is being shipped now, at least to me.

Update 7-2-2010

After exchanging comments with Dustin, one of the other reviewers, I decided to contact SF Planet. I sent them a photograph of the cable and they replied that was the right one that they were selling.

If you'll check the two customer provided pictures above, where the cable is compared to a pencil, you'll see there is a marked difference in the diameter of the cable. The one with the thinner cable was provided by me and the one with the larger cable was provided by runner4902 who attaches a caption "Some reviewer claimed this wire was "1/10 the thickness" of other toslink cables she has purchased." Although the two customer pictures show a marked difference, it is not as much as 1/10th the thickness.

I have just finished reading almost all of the reviews, including the video, and have come to the conclusion that a wide variety of cables are being shipped to customers. The one on the video review is entirely different from the one I got.

It appears to be almost a case of the luck of the draw. Amazon should probably put a warning that the customer may receive one of a number of different cables types and that the one you receive may not look like the picture shown on the product.

In the future I will probably stick with the Amazon Basics line as everything I've gotten from that line has been excellent!

Update 7-3-2010

I've noticed that Amazon rotates the featured seller periodically; as of this date the featured seller is Eforcity; out of curiosity I've ordered another cable from them and will be very interested to see what they ship. What I suspect is happening is certain sellers are selling much nicer cables than others. It would be interesting to see if those customers that are complaining about the thinness of the cable all got their cable from SF Planet.

I've scanned, read or watched all of the reviews now and have found a wide assortment of responses from the reviewers. The video review shows a very fine cable indeed which is a far cry from the thin cable I received. My cable is working and did lock satisfactorily in place so I'm not experiencing the connection problem that some of the reviewers complained of.

The price is certainly fantastic, although some of the reviewers were so unhappy they felt anything was too much for something that didn't work. My concern is consistency of product for the customers; if there is a great range of quality of the product I would think the buyer should be alerted to the fact the product sold may not look anything like the product advertised.

When the cable comes in from Eforcity I'll update this review to let you know what quality of cable they sent.'

Hair Trimmer - trimmer, shaving

Great trimmer, easy to use. Mine has survived traveling and my own clumsiness.

I like the trimmer heads though I don't use them much. Mostly I use this for my bakini line and for making it into fun shapes. As long as you trim on the longest setting first, then the middle setting, then the shortest, it won't get clogged and will do its job.

Clean super easy to clean (the head of it comes apart

Also, I like how discreet it is. My roommates have yet to spot that I have a trimmer out in the open!

Love it, recommended.

(This is a trimmer, this will not get you smooth. There will still be a bit of stubble. If you want to get smooth, you will need a razor/shaver.)

I was trying to install the battery and couldn't get the on/off switch to work. Maybe it was just me, maybe it was a lemon, but I ended up returning it. I had good experience with Remington products in the past but I no longer plan on purchasing any due to this experience.

The Remington hair trimmer is a great product! Compared to other similar products such as the Finishing Touch women's trimmer, this one is much more thorough. For one, the blade gives off a much stronger power when turned on than other products. Thus, you get a closer, faster trim. Be careful however, as women with sensitive skin may find this product harsh because of the powerful shave. I found I get the best results when I don't press the trimmer too firmly on the skin of my face. Also, the small detail trimmer is very useful for the ends of eyebrows, etc.

Got this in Aug 2010, worked the first time. Hasn't started once since then, even with a new battery and slight whack on the side. Nothing. Piece of junk. WalMart has 4-5 similar ones for the same or less.

Had to return and the second one worked. The smaller second blade is interesting, not sure it does much. Found similar shavers locally for 3-4$ cheaper. Return process went smoothly.

Well this is an update....it died too, don't buy this item, it's junk.

The 1st time I used this trimmer, I was thrilled: sharp blade, small, lightweight, and easy to handle. It did the job nicely at a bargain sale price.

Well, so much for cost cutting. The 2nd time, it fell apart into pieces that did not fit back together. There's really nothing to the device other than very cheesy plastic, albeit a great blade.

Next time, I'll spend the extra $$$ and get one that's sturdy and substantial - a lesson leaned, once again: "You get what you pay for."

I have owned this trimmer for a few months now. Half the time when I turn it on, it doesn't come on. Whacking it gently on the edge of my sink gets it going, but also sometimes causes the trimming head to come apart. The head is easily put back together. Usually after going through this, it gets running and continues to run until I turn it back off.

When it is running, it works very well. It trims off facial fuzz for smoother looking skin, and the small blade works for more precision areas. I really like what this gizmo does, I just wish I could find one that is sturdier and more reliable. But, this one, and others I've checked out on Amazon, don't cost a lot so I won't complain too loudly. - Hair Removal - Trimmer - Hair Trimmer - Shaving'

String Trimmer - trimmer, cordless weed whacker

I was previously using all gas powered yard tools, blower, hedge trimmer, string trimmer, great products but loud, smelly and sometimes difficult to start. I had been looking at electric powered products to get rid of those trips to the gas station, however, pulling an electrical cord around my yard did not appeal to me at all. Then i came across this kit on amazon. The Black & Decker is a good one IMO so i took a chance and ordered from amazon.

I have been highly satisfied the battery power last well enough on my 12,000 square foot lot. The tool are nice and quiet and i can do my yard work early in the morning without disturbing the neighbors. I must say all 3 products work great for their intended purpose. The bonus IMO is the batter charger mount that can charge all three included batteries at the same time. Also, the mountable storage station is great and makes storing the equipment easy. My father came over and was hooked on these and placed an order the next day, great products at a great price from amazon what could be better, lol.......

**UPDATE**04/17/2010

Im still using this same equipment right at 5 YEARS! later and they work great. Im still using 2 of the 3 B&D batteries that I purchased for the set. I was just searching for new batteries and could not believe its been 5 years that this equipment and batteries have lasted, well worth the money for the quality and ease of use. Black & Decker CCC3000 18-Volt Cordless Electric Lawncare Center

UPDATE: I've owned this set for over 2 1/2 years now, and I only like it more. I've seen no drop off in battery power, and I find more uses for the blower than I would have thought. It's great for blowing sawdust out of my garage and I even use it to help dry my car after I wash it. The weed wacker continues to function like a champ, and the pruner, though rarely used, works great. There's nothing like cordless electric for convenience!

More than a few reviewers have complained about short run times with these tools. I have no such complaints. In fact, I find that one charge on one battery is enough to edge and weed-whack my front and back yards and trim my hedges.

A lot of people don't seem to understand that in places where people want to live yards are getting smaller and smaller. In San Diego, in a subdivision built 25 years ago, my front and back yards combined are about 1500 square feet. My friend just bought a new luxury home in San Diego that has a "postage stamp" front yard. There isn't even enough room to park a Camry on his grass.

Another friend in Tennessee recently purchased a multi-thousand dollar commercial lawn mower with a 52" cutting path to mow the grass on his property. This set is perfect for most San Diego lawns (and even those that are a fair bit larger), but it's not going to be nearly as suitable to a backwoods Tennessee lot.

Before you buy these, think. The larger your yard, the less suitable you'll find these. So if your property is much larger than the average subdivision lot, these probably aren't for you. And it's just common sense that the larger your lot is, the more batteries you'll need. If you have a larger yard, don't buy the set and then whine about having to switch out batteries. These aren't made for your two acre property in the sticks!

As you would expect, the blower does not rival the performance of a corded model. But it blows hard enough for most lawn care needs (it will move grass clippings and loose dirt). The weed whacker (string trimmer) is great. The head pivots for edging and the automatic line feed system works great.

The hedge trimmer is even better. I have a much smaller rechargeable Black and Decker hedge trimmer with an internal battery pack. I use it for most of my shrubs because it is lighter and more maneuverable. I only use the one included with this kit on a few larger hedges, and it performs well.

I had been using corded electric tools, but the cords were always such a hassle that I found myself putting off yard work. Gas tools would be overkill. They require too much maintenance and I don't want to store gasoline. These cordless tools are the perfect compromise. I'm just sorry that I didn't buy them sooner.

There is a noticeable difference in the power between my corded and cordless tools. While operating, the corded tools seem to operate at a higer speed and with more torque.

The most noticeable difference between the corded and cordless tools is the much reduced airflow speed with the cordless blower. As to the other tools, I suspect that if I went to clear some particularly thick weeds the cordless string trimmer might bog down. I similarly suspect that the hedge trimmer might bog down if I was trimming thick branches with it. So I'm keeping my corded tools for those rare occasions that I might need them.

I have an acre of lawn, and was tired of starting my gas trimmer. I could not use a corded trimmer because I would spend most of my time moving the cord around.

I then stumbled onto this product. I read the reviews and the one I found most useful stated that they bought the trimmer and the blower, and that they use both batteries to trim their lawn.

Well, I found that this combo pack was a good deal, since you basically get a tool and battery for free!

I really like the triple charger! One plug has three charging stations.

It takes almost two entire batteries for me to trim my yard. I have about 400 feet of edging and 18 trees. If I edge my sidewalk (250 feet) I use about a quarter of the third battery.

The AFS string system works well, maybe a little too well. I find that I get about 1.5 trimming session before I need to replace the spool. I bought the 300 foot spool instead of the individual ones.

Please keep in mind, I trim mostly grass. If I trimmed weeds, which are thicker then grass, I do not think that this trimmer would work well. - Trimmer - Cordless Weed Whacker - Hedge Trimmer - Black And Decker'

Compact Fluorescent - compact fluorescent bulbs, dimmable

Really what can I say? I've purchased 4 packages of these over the last six months, replacing all the incandescents in the 2800 sq ft home I'm renting. I'm sure I don't have to get into the benefits of CFLs vs. regular light bulbs but suffice it to say, we even use them over the vanities (where we have rows of 4-8 bulbs) and everything is brighter and cooler. They're inexpensive and work just as well as the pricier one at the store. GE 13-Watt Energy SmartTM 60 Watt Replacement - 2 Packs of 8 Bulbs - 16 Total Bulbs

I was a bit hesitant as i've heard 15W replaces 60W incandescent but these 13W's GE 13-Watt Energy SmartTM 60 Watt Replacement - 2 Packs of 8 Bulbs - 16 Total Bulbs are just as bright as my 100W's and there's no delay or dull period when the switch is flicked...haven't received my electric bill to say what the savings are yet tho.

These are great, energy efficient light bulbs at a price that most brick-and-mortar stores cannot come close to matching! The packaging is easy enough to handle and the light bulbs work great! They don't need any time to 'warm up' to full brightness, either. At least, they don't in my house! I don't know what else to say except that I bought 2 sets of 2 packs of 8, for 32 bulbs. They all are doing great! No complaints!

We have used CFLs in the past, but still had many older incandescants, so I purchased this 16 pack of GE 13-watt GE lightbulbs. As almost every light we were replacing it with was previously a 60 watt, we seemed to be able to judge the light output comparison well. I can tell you that in every instance, these 13 watt CFLs were brighter than the old 60 watts. In addition, my wife actually asked that we go to a lower wattage in a few cases because these were just too bright.

These bulbs also appear to power up more quickly than our other, older CFLs.

Overall, we are very pleased with every aspect of our purchase...most of all, price!

This product as stated by the previous reviewer as no delay! Which for most of us is extremely important because we like to walk into the room and actually SEE where we're going. It does start at slightly less bright but it is more than bright enough to continue using and in about 10 to 20 seconds it is up to its brightest setting. I'm sure that with time this will probably change because I will burn in the lights as they say which usually fixes almost any delay if it is at all possible to fix. The price isn't bad but it is only about $2 off of the price of buying the sylvannia lights at our local BJ's warehouse. Besides that they seem to be in working order without a delay which is great!

I bought these to replace all my bulb's in a house I had just purchased. These do not take time to warm up like other energy smart bulbs that I have used before. Got these at a great price with quick free shipping from amazon. These are just as bright as a 60W and 100W bulbs that I used to have.

All the bulbs work pretty good, except that there is one broken come with the package. But amazon has very good customer service, as soon as I contact them, and tell them, they agree to give me partial refund. I am very happy shopping here.

I wholeheartedly agree with other buyers of these GE 13-Watt that state these bulbs give very decent light and at a fantastic price. I was also pleased to have them delivered to my front door instead of stuffed in a PO Box/Locker that we have here at my Townhome community. I purchased qty#2 of these packages and not only did every one of them work, there wasn't any 'warm-up' time with any of these bulbs.

I read one review that stated the bulb was too long to fit into one of their fixtures... same here. I have a ceiling fan downstairs that has a light in it. The shade cover it has is too shallow in height to accept these GE 13-Watt bulbs. I'll have to keep searching to find a CFL bulb that does the job for this fixture.

The front door delivery 'sealed' a 5-star review from me. - Compact Fluorescent - Cfl - Compact Fluorescent Bulbs - Dimmable'

Kindle Lighted Cover - kindle 3 covers, kindle covers

I've noticed that like myself customers have been concerned primarily with two things regarding the new lighted case from amazon. These are: 1)The weight and 2) The uneven lighting. My review will briefly discuss these two things.

1)The Weight - The lighted leather case is a nice weight, sturdy and comfortable to hold. In ounces it is about the weight of the kindle itself however don't let that concern you. With the case on it feels like a medium sized paperback, however it is far much more comfortable to hold. It's easy to hold the case open like a book (nice for couch and table type reading) or to fold the front back and close it with the bungee so that the bungee doesn't hang around (this is good for bedtime reading).Closing the front back with bungee keeps the case folded in position and you don't have to worry about it bothering you. BTW THIS CASE FOLDS BACK 100% - Very comfortable. In sum very comfortable to read with the case and very sturdy.

2) The uneven lighting - Amazon's pictures don't do this case justice. The light hits the ENTIRE screen. Yes if you look closely it's brighter in the top right corner then in the bottom left but Amazon's pics make it look the top is lighted while the bottom is dark. There is good light all over the screen. Trust me I'm fussy about these things - the lighting will not bother you, your entire screen will be lighted and it is extremely pleasant to read in the dark.

*Final Thoughts - Great case, good quality, works well, kindle feels very secure and protected (I would feel comfortable slipping this case into my backpack or suitcase and I think it would sustain some mild impact). Lastly hinges are a non-issue, casing of the kindle will not get damaged with normal or even slightly aggressive use. You could damage the kindle by trying to pull the back of the case but you'd have to really force it to cause any sort of damage to your kindle. The hinges work fine and should not be a concern to any case user.

Update 1st December 2010:

Have now been using the case for 3 months. Leather still looks impeccable. Some people expressed concern that the bungee cord might loosen with use. I have not experienced any loosening so far. Quality of the product has proven outstanding. I've occasionally spilled or messed the cover, just a wipe with a damp cloth has cleaned it up, and the case looks like new. Have to admit I enjoy the feel of the case in my hand, there's just something great about taking your kindle to a coffee shop in this case, it just looks and feels so classy. Also with regard to the hinges: I have had no scratches on my kindle or any other issues, so I remain convinced that the hinges are a non issue. Kindle Lighted Leather Cover, Apple Green (Fits 6" Display, Latest Generation Kindle)

I was hesitant to buy this cover mostly due to the pictures in its listing, which seem to show a light that doesn't even extend to the opposite corner. The fact that I have not been impressed with the Amazon's Kindle covers in the past didn't help. I went ahead and purchased it because the cover I wanted isn't available yet and I don't like to take my Kindle out and about without a cover. Now I am glad that I went ahead and bought it.

PROS:

1. The light is much better than I thought it would be. Using it in a darkened room I found that the light did the job very well. In a pitch black room, it performs even better. While the screen corner opposite the light is a bit dimmer than other areas, there is no problem reading the page at all.

2. The light gets its power from the Kindle itself, through the gold-plated hinges which attach it to the cover, so batteries are a thing of the past. When your Kindle goes to sleep, the light will go out as well. It will also turn off when you slide it back into the case.

3. The cover is slim, well-fitted and very easy to attach and detach using the hinges. The inside has good padding. The leather outer surface has a nice pebbled texture with the exception of a smooth area along the edge of the front. While stiff enough to protect the reader, the cover is slight flexible and the front easily folds behind when reading so you can hold your Kindle with one hand if you like.

4. A great plus is that the cover has an elastic cord that fits into a groove on the front of it. This holds your cover closed (unlike the original Kindle 2 cover that would flop open in your purse & let things slide into it) and easily distinguishes the front from the back--important as many owners of the Kindle 2 cover accidentally opened it from the back, which could cause cracking along the Kindle's spine.

CONS:

I haven't found any, really. The light Is a bit hard (stiff) to pull out of the cover, but then you wouldn't want it to be flopping out when you don't want to use it so that is more of a Pro than a Con.

The one concern I do have is about pulling the light in and out--I wonder if whatever wiring or conductor that is used to get the power from the hinges to the light will eventually break. But that is something to find out down the road. Right now, the more I use this cover, the more I like it. - Kindle 3 Covers - Kindle Accessory - Kindle 3 Case - Kindle Covers'

Unlocked Cell Phones - torch, blackberry

Here goes. I bought this device because I love that it combined the full qwerty keyboard with a touchscreen. I found out that not everything that glitters is gold.

I love:

Full keyboard, camera and display on this device. It has a very smooth track to open the keyboard. It's simply a perfect idea in its conception.

I hate:

It's slow and I mean slow on the processor end. It takes some getting used to in order to delete multiple messages, but the WORST is that when I am on a call, the darn thing intermitently pushes numbers (like if your toddler was trying to get your attention and starting pushing the button on the phone to make them beep). It also has put people on speaker phone while we are talking which is a big no-no for me. Lastly, it hangs up while I'm on a call, which is the worst insult of all. And no, I don't have a fat cheek.

I can't imagine that RIM's engineers and beta testers didn't run into the problem. At least with my IPhone, the screen goes black when you put it up to your ear so this doesn't happen. I say back to the drawing board and I'm sending this back. BlackBerry 9800 Torch Unlocked Phone with 5 MP Camera, Full QWERTY Keyboard, 4 GB Internal Storage, and Slider Card Slot Up to 32GB - International Version with No Warranty (Black)

I've been through a couple 8220 Flips and a 9550 Storm 2 that I've owned and I've used a few Curves and Bolds and this is by far the best Blackberry, hands down. Trying to compare it to previous BB models is downright unfair as it blows the all out of the water. The touch screen is a huge improvement over the Storm 2 and its nice to see standard gestures like pinch to zoom are supported. The fact that it has the full querty keyboard and trackpad makes it an easy transition from non-touch phones and also makes it more efficient in general as a lot of operations feel more natural doing it the "old-fashioned" way instead of touch-screen.

The camera is much improved and BB OS6 is a huge improvement over previous versions. I love Social Feeds and how tightly the apps integrate with your contacts and the phone sofware in general. The new search feature is great too; just start typing and it brings results from contacts, emails, social feeds, applications, etc.

So basically, as far as Blackberrys are concerned, you can't go wrong!

Compared to other smartphones and mainly the iPhone4 you can tell that the touchscreen still has a ways to go before it reaches the same maturity as the others who've been doing this for longer. Also, as far as apps go, its definitely lacking. There are very few good free apps and games and the games are just downright terrible compared to the amazing stuff that's coming out for iPhone. That said, gaming probably isn't a big priority if you want a Blackberry.

All in all, I'm very satisfied! I've been wanting this phone for over 6 months and watched tons of reviews and hyped the thing up so much and despite all of that I still managed to get surprised with this phone. It's awesome!

Pros

----

+ Real touchscreen with all gestures

+ Trackpad and QWERTY Keyboard = best of both worlds

+ BB OS6 is great

+ 5MP camera

Cons

----

- Touch is a little awkward at times

- Freezes/chokes for a few seconds occasionally

- Lacking in app department

- Crappy games

I bought the phone to be used in India and so far it has been a good phone and works as expected. Below are pros and cons in my opinion

Pros

1. Good looking and sturdy feel.

2. It has the most recent blackberry OS which is a bit more user friendly and intuitive than the previous version

3. The touchscreen interface is similar to iPhone and much better than the BB storm

Cons

1. The touch keyboard is not as reponsive as the iPhone. It may get better with more practice but atleast initially it feels a bit clumsier and tad too sensitive. The physical keyboard is good.

2. The OS is still not as user friendly as the iPhone's iOS.

3. The BB appworld is a joke compared to Apple. Also the fact there are multiple sources for downloading the apps takes some getting used to. Some of the apps such as Vonage and Skype are not available for blackberry torch. I hope this gets resolved soon.

Overall, not a bad phone.

I had this phone for over a month now, and here are just some thoughts about it.

I enjoy reading online novels, and having this phone I am allow to sit in my car reading something while just chilling or waiting for someone.

It works perfectly fine with some short stories. But when it goes to loading huge amount of texts (300,000 and up), it takes quite some time(maybe 3 or 4 minutes or even more) to just finish downloading the page, and then it will take another 2 minutes to adjust the format as you zoom in. And if you are not careful enough holding the device up tight and so happen to flip it just a bit (or maybe just taking a sip of a drink or a call), it will automatically change its viewing from straight to side and here goes another extra 2 minutes again.

I don't know if iphone or android have the same problem; yet I am actually fine with waiting the initial 3 minutes of the loading part.

But honestly, I think it should have some sort of applications to lock the viewing as you are surfing the internet.

And sometimes, it doesn't happen very often, while you are surfing the internet, the page somehow freezes and the back of the device starts heating up. And within 1 or 2 minutes period, the battery life suddently drops about 30%. I kinda worry if this is goning to damage the device.

The actual keyboard is awesome, but the touch screen keyboard is just retarded. You often typed in the letter below the one you actually typed.

The camera doesn't have a tiny mirror next to it, so it's really hard for you to take a picture of yourself.

The back cover became a bit lose after I accidently dropped it six inches height to the desk, but it is probably my own fault (however I still haven't found the part that makes the cover lose).

I think it's an ok device, and if rim fixes the touch screen keyboard and make some adjustments to the internet surfing, I'd rate it as 4 stars. - Unlocked Cell Phones - Blackberry 9700 - Blackberry - Torch'

Cindy C Bennett - drug addiction, indie author

Suranne has just moved to the U.S. from London, and she already knows one thing- stay away from Kane Richards. Of course, Suranne thinks he is just some guy who happens to be a womanizer. She was wrong. Kane Richards is a GOD. Even with people's warnings to stay away from him- Suranne also finds herself falling for him. But Kane NEVER falls for his victims. Or, at least he hasn't yet.

I really liked this book, but I just realized something. The plot is almost EXACTLY like Beautiful Disaster. Isn't that crazy!?! Either way, I would recommend this book to Young Adults mostly because of the message it has. This book really shows that anyone can change, and anyone can change another. (If you like this book, read Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire) Kane Richards Must Die

i really am glad i took the time to read this story. it was a wonderful suprise! i loved the depth of these characters and rooted for them every step of the way. it was a pretty edgy young adut read and i would not have wished for anything different, and i wish there were more ya books out there like this one!

I wont go into the plot since others have. I have to say I could not get into the story I think the writing was done well I just did not like the hero or the heroine. I think one point into the book that Irritated me was when Kane got drunk I would think he would not do that considering through the whole book he wants his mother to stop drinking. That's just one of many things that irritated me if u want a good YA book get beautiful disaster it's great.

KANE RICHARDS MUST DIE was beautifully written which surprised me since it was so cheap. This author could probably get away with charging more for it on Amazon. But the fact that it was 99 cents just made this experience all the more enjoyable! (:

Suranne has lived in England for her entire life but goes to live with her aunt in South Carolina, United States. The book immediately opens with Suranne at her new school, where everyone warns her, or is infatuated by Kane Richards. What's the appeal? He is actually pretty amazing. He is a player, of course, but takes the whole bad-boy-with-a-soft-side thing to a whole new and deeply emotional level.

I love Suranne and Kane's relationship. Throughout the book, they kept getting disaster after trial after disaster thrown at them. And they always got through it and made up at the end. Even when thousands of miles threaten them, a solution pops up.

The ending solution was a little abrupt. I wanted to know what would happen with Kane's mother and little sister, but it was seriously romantic. I wanted to cry, because it was a very romance novel type of thing that makes hopeless romantics like myself sigh.

This book is a lot about learning and overcoming. It is definitely focused on love and Suranne and Kane's relationship, but I was impressed that that wasn't the only focus like it would have been in a lot of YA romance books out today.

Very Good! *thumbs up*

I wasn't sure if I was going to like this book, but it surprise me and I'm really glad I read it. Kane became a very likable character and also believable like the others in what they said, their struggles, and their triumphs. I liked the fact that the author provided his point of view to clear up things and it provided insight into what made him who he was and who he became. It was a bit different than the typical YA romance books, a bit more graphical and such, but it made the story all the more real. Though I don't think the title of the book matched with the story. If there's a continuation, I'd definitely pick that up too.

I'm so glad I started reading the amazon discussion boards, they have recommended such great books that I would never never ever had started reading on my own...especially with the title of this book. I would have definitely passed it up. I would have been missing a great book....even like the last reviewer stated, with all the "whilst" in it, Kane Richards Must Die is a great book. I really enjoyed the depth of the characters, especially Kane's explanation of his emotions and why he did things. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the ending. I wanted a more wrapped up HEA, but other than that, it was wonderful, still a must read.

I wasn't so sure if I should buy this book at first ,but after reading the reviews and sample, I just had to buy it. I really loved the drama and romance in the story, it was so sweet!I also liked how the narration switched from Kane and Suranne, it made things so much more interesting!

This is definately a must buy!<3

Kane Richards Must Die is a quick read about Suranne, a British girl who moved to the United States, and Kane Richards, who is basically a womanizing jerk. Suranne knows she must stay away from him because he will only use her and hurt her. The problem is, she can't stay away. She is so intrigued by him and wants to learn more about who he really is. It also doesn't help that Kane is the hottest guy in school!

My favorite kind of character is the one that has many levels. At first, all we know about Kane is he sleeps with a different girl every night, and then ignores her the next day. As the story goes on, we learn that his father died three years (told to us in a completely heartbreaking scene), and it is up to Kane to take care of his alcoholic mother and 12 year old sister. Barely holding it together, Kane releases his pain through sex. That all changes when he meets Suranne. She makes him want to be a better person and I loved that about their relationship. It was nice to be able to watch Kane heal.

Kane Richards Must Die is told in the viewpoints of both Suranne and Kane. I really love when books do that. I like to be able to know what everyone is thinking and I think it really brings a lot to the story.

The only complaint I have about this book is the title. I just didn't feel that it fit. Yes, Kane is a jerk, but not once in the story was it stated that he deserves to die, or even pay for using so many girls.

I would recommend this book to older teens and higher. There are a lot of curses and there are many sex scenes and discussions about sex that would not be appropriate for pre-teens.

Overall, a great read! I am glad that I read it, and I think more people should! - Drug Addiction - Child Abuse - Indie Author - Cindy C Bennett'

18 Inch Laptop Case - 18 inch laptop case, case logic

I had bought a new Qosmio X505 laptop with an 18.4 inch screen and needed a larger case. This case works great. It's easily large enough for the laptop as well as all the various peripherals. The bag itself has a nice feel.

A great buy. Case Logic VNC-218 18-Inch Laptop Case (Black)

A few weeks of toting the bag with a 16 inch laptop and some papers have torn the handles. For a product designed to carry large laptops I would have thought weight would be taken into account. I would have rather liked a warning on how much (or little) weight the handles would take before purchasing the product.

I am looking for bags for my 18 inch laptop and found this one in the store. I am glad that I inspected it. It has padding on the front, back, top and side. But NO PADDING ON THE BOTTOM...

You would think that the most important place to add padding, would have it. But NO. This bag is NOT padded on the bottom.

If you own one and set it down to hard. I hope that you backed up your data..

I needed a lighter more compact case for my Alienware M17XR2. This massive lap top weights over 12lbs not including the 2lb power brick. Unlike the oversized Alienware bag with its multiple pockets, and areas, The Case Logic case has one main area for the laptop and a zippered area for thinner components like the power brick. For local transportation when I only need the laptop, brick, mouse and a few CD's this case is perfect. The zippers are strong, the material is strong and there is sufficient padding. The case is very light weight, which is what I wanted. Easy to carry with the shoulder strap which I rarely use since it is so easy to use the handle. I will use the BIG Alienware bag for long road trips or air travel. But for around the town transport the Case Logic is a perfect choice for me. - Case - Case Logic - 18 Inch Laptop Case - Laptop Bags'

Easy To Use - flip video, video

If you've done any camcorder shopping at all, it doesn't take long to realize that we've got a problem with function/feature overload. You could pick camcorder A with night vision, steady hand, and sepia filming capabilities...or you could pick camcorder B with the touch screen, HD video quality, and 50 other functions that you'd never use... The list, as you no doubt have discovered, goes on and on.

This is why I LOVE my Flip. Within 2 minutes of opening the box, it was on and ready to start recording. Within those same two minutes, I'd read the instructions on how to record, playback, and download the videos onto my computer. In my opinion, this is brilliant technology - it's small, convenient, and incredibly simple. Still want high-quality videos, not to worry, this puppy can capture 'em.

If you're an aspiring filmmaker with a commitment to the best of the best of the best...the Flip's probably not the best choice for you. But if you're like the vast majority of people who just want a quality camcorder (and be honest, even though they sound cool, you won't use a quarter of those features on the $400+ camcorders) that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, buy the Flip. It's incredible. Flip Ultra Video Camera - Black, 4 GB, 2 Hours (2nd Generation) OLD MODEL

I needed a cheap little camera that took good video of my grandkids since my children are so remiss in doing so. I thought this little camera would be good since I saw some great reviews on it and the folks were right. It is light weight, easy to carry and pull out quickly, shoots high quality video. The kids are not usually aware of you filming which gives great shots. All good so far until I used up the 2 hours of video, and I was out of town. I did not have my computer with me, so I was trapped with video that I could not download and no way to save what I had.

My son suggested I go to Staples, or Best Buy and get a flashdrive and have them download it to the flashdrive. I did that and it worked fine. Now I just carry the flash drive with me and it gives me another 2 hours of film time. You will need an 8GB flash drive for the camera since that is what is inside the camera and it will hold 2 hours of filming. Editing is cumbersome and not very well thought out in the software, but you can buy other software to edit that works better.

If you are planning on taking this camera camping, be aware that you need to be near a high tech source when the film runs out. Although 2 hours seems like a long time, it isn't.

Grandma Judy

I got this for my mother as a Christmas gift. It worked great for about 6 months. Then it wouldn't work all of sudden. Never dropped or mishandled. Worked with tech support and couldn't revive it. Only came on with the little flip beep and then turned back off. I sent it to the company to be repaired. Got it back a about 40 days later. It worked and they fixed it even though it was beyond the warranty! We were so happy. Then on the next outing. Dead. Wouldn't work again. Since the warranty is only 90 days, there is nothing to do, except complain here and get another brand.

I've been using this camera for a few months and have noticed one major problem. All of the video it takes is somewhat zoomed in. Even if you use the controls to zoom all the way out, the video appears to be zoomed in. In other words, it's the opposite of a wide angle lens.

This is terrible when shooting in close quarters. I use the camera for taking video of house tours and it makes every room seem so much smaller than video taken with another camera or photos taken with another camera. You get so much less stuff in the shot and have to try to back up all the way into the corner of the room to get even a decent shot of the room.

If you want to see what it's like, take your digital camera, zoom to 3x, and see what it looks like. Understand that that's the furthest you can pan out with the Flip.

I've owned a few video cameras over the years but none of them have gotten much use mainly due to the size of the camera. In my opinion it's not always practical to haul those things around. When they do get used, the video that I take tends to sit on those little tapes never to be seen again. It's just too much of a hassle to move the content from tape to digital so I can edit and finally watch what I've recorded.

Enter the Flip - with a size that fits easily in the hand (about the size of an iPod but narrower and a bit thicker) this device is also easily stuffed in a bag so you have it everywhere you go. For me this accessibility makes it much more practical compared to a traditional video camera.

Another big selling point for me is the simplicity. It's easy enough to use that I think even my parents could operate it with little instruction. It starts up in a flash and is instantly ready to record (from off to record in about 5 sec). The big red button records and stops recording. That's all you really need to know. Of course there are zoom and playback options that take the Flip beyond simple recording.

Although the Flip works well in low light, it's best that you film in daylight or a well lit room. I did a test shot at night in a dimly lit room and the video was watchable but a bit grainy. Filming outside during the day resulted in crisp, clear video. If you're looking to do a lot of recording in low light the HD version might be a better choice for you.

I also like the fact that I can watch my recordings right on the device itself. The built in screen is good enough for a few people to gather around for a quick view of what was just recorded. It has built in audio as well. If you want to show off your video to a larger crowd you can use the audio/video out on the side of your Fip to plug directly into a TV with a composite input (HD version has and HDMI output).

Getting the video from your Flip to your computer couldn't be easier. You basically flip out the little USB arm and plug your camera directly into your computer. When plugged in the flip will show up as a hard drive so if for some reason you don't want to install the software you can just drag and drop video files just as you might do from a thumb drive or other external drive. The software, however, gives you a nice interface for managing your videos on your Flip as well as those that you've moved to your computer. In addition to simplified file management the software gives your an easy way to edit videos, take snapshots and make your own movies by joining together multiple files.

I'm very excited to use my Flip for an upcoming vacation. The small size will fit easily into my day bag and with 2 hours of recording time I should have plenty of room to store a day's worth of video. I also like the fact that the Flip takes AA batteries (regular or rechargeable) so if I run out of juice while I'm out I should be able to find replacements easily. Finally since it's so easy to transfer the video to my computer I might actually end up watching these videos for a change. - Flip Video - Video - Point Shoot Camcorder - Ultra'

Digital Camera Memory - sandisk, sandisk 4gb

Standard SD and SDHC cards look identical in size and shape, only SDHC-compatible products will be able to accept the new SDHC cards. SanDisk differentiates its new cards with the new SDHC logo on the card and retail package.

Now my web research finds that at the time of its release Wes Brewer, vice president of consumer product marketing at SanDisk, said, "In order to provide the easiest and most compatible solution for 4GB and larger capacity SDHC cards in the market, SanDisk chose to bundle its new MicroMate USB 2.0 SD/SDHC compatible card reader, which normally retails for $19.99, with this new card."

Note this deal does not include a reader.

In my case the device I bought it for can read it. Without the dedicated reader my year old HP computer cannot . Sandisk 4GB Secure Digital SD HC Memory Card (SDSDB-4096, BULK, No Reader)

This is a must for loading music to listen to on my Palm TX. But BEWARE of eek Technoligies and buying at this price. They wanted $13.20 for shipping a 2 oz memory card? Buy from someone else even if it is a few dollars more and pay reasonable shipping rates. Don't be fooled by their cheap price they make it up 2x in shippoing charges. When I saw it I cancelled my order..

I played around with the prices on this and found out several things. If I order this item, $11 in shipping costs is added by the third party supplier! If I get the 2G version, even two of them, those qualify for free shipping from Amazon and come out much cheaper. So check your prices on these before ordering. My hunch is that you can probably pick this 4G up cheaper at your local electronics/computer store...

It's nice to have 4GB in your camera and be able to take pictures at max resolution and not have to worry about running out of space. I've been using SanDisk cards for 6 years now and never had a single problem. Be warned however, if you have a somewhat older digital camera, it may not recognize a card of this size and the card will be useless. I don't know why they don't mention this in the product spec, hence the 4 stars. Check your camera's user manual for max memory capabilities, if any.

I purchased this card five months ago and used it without incident. I was happy with the amount of space on the card. Suddenly today, for no apparent reason, a message came up saying "memory card error". I cannot access the photos on my card with my external card reader. I cannot use the card in my camera. The photos on the card are lost, and that makes me quite sad.

Finding that this product does not work in my one year old Canon camera I contacted the company and was given a list of cameras which do support it. This list belongs on the product description at the Amazon site. Besides the nuisance, I'll be out the $4.50 shipping cost for shipping an item requiring .59 cents postage.

The Sandisk site says this disk is compatible, and the user manual for the Canon Powershot 590IS says the camera can use SD or SDHC memory cards, so I assumed this card would be compatible. It wasn't. The camera says "memory card locked!" even when the card is unlocked. I'm giving this a one star rating because everything I looked at says this card is compatible, but it wasn't. For the Sandisk compatiblity site (which, of course, recommends their most expensive 32 and 16G cards first), see http://www.sandisk.com/Compatibility/Device(8725)-Canon-PowerShot_A590_IS.aspx . I haven't found a site so far that specifically recommends one card over another for this model of camera.

BAIT AND SWITCH ALERT! I ordered traditional blue normal San Disk 4 gb disks as advertised here for christmas gifts like digital cameras and to use myself with my camera. As of ten minutes ago, the ABX Protech listing (here at amazon.com) displayed the blue san disk memory card that I always buy from Best Buy, which is not a bulk item, and comes with a usb and reader. However that is not what this company sent. ABX ProTech pulled a bait and switch, shipping an entirely different product, that does not work with my digital items.

BEWARE! If you order this, you will not get the Traditional Blue San Disk memory card that they advertise and what they send will not work with your regular electronic devices.

Particularly problematic is that the ad- which was up until a moment ago when I complained- showed the standard blue memory card, and now they have changed it. Luckily I printed copies of my order and took a print screen image of their ad from today showing how they advertise one item and shipped another.

Even more shady, there was no packing slip or invoice in the package and they charged enormous shipping fees ($15.00) for a tiny envelope package weighing less than 2 ounces that they mailed first class.

I have requested a full refund- including shipping and handling, but have not heard back. ABX Protech has a very restrictive and laborious refund policy under which you may not ship anything back until you receive a "return" number from them.

Avoid ABX protech at ALL COSTS! - Sandisk - Memory Card - Digital Camera Memory - Sandisk 4gb'

Moisturizing - hair care, cleansing conditioner

I colour my hair, wear it long (mid back) and have struggled with split ends for years. Every time I managed to get it to grow another inch, I had to have that inch cut off because of the split ends.

Enter WEN, hero of the hour (and day, and year!)

I have been using this version of Wen for 3 months now, starting just after my hair was trimmed. It has been a pleasure to use and my hair is in gleaming, soft, healthy condition, but the thing that has prompted me to write this review is the fact that I can't find any split ends. None. All the ends that were cut by the hairdresser, 3 months ago, are as neat as the day I walked out of the salon. And believe me, I have just spent a good 10 minutes looking.

Now I just have to wait about 2 years for all the old split ends that split up the hair shaft (presumably due to my old shampoos) to grow out, and I will have the hair I used to have in my teen years again. And to think, it was my shampoo that was doing all that damage...

I am very, very impressed with this product, and intend to use it for a long time! WEN® Cucumber Aloe Cleansing Conditioner 16oz

I have heard so much about WEN that I had to buy it. I followed the directions perfectly '30-40 pumps, massage in for a minute, let stand 3-5 minutes, rinse thoroughly' and when I got out my hair had waxy build up. I was ticked I mean wasn't the whole point of this not to have waxy build up? To have volume? I tried twice more just to see if I had messed up, but no each time my hair came out with grease and wax. Finally I googled 'WEN instructions' and it came up with a video on YouTube.com Here's the proper way that should be on the bottle.

1. rinse hair thoroughly, like for a few minutes.

2. 5-10 pumps (more if you need) and put on the top part of your hair, massage in

3. 5-10 pumps under your hair massage in

4. 5-10 pumps on the left side

5. 5-10 pumps on the right side

6. any extra pumps on the bottom or top, just fill in

7. Slightly tilt your head in the water until it gets a little wet

8. massage in your scalp for a minute, this should be easier because of the water you added

9. comb through

10. clip it up and let stay for a solid 3-5 minutes

11. rise thoroughly making sure you don't feel anything in your hair

optional

12. before you get out use a pump or so to run though the ends of your hair like leave in conditioner

Do you see how detailed that is? That's what should be on the back of the bottle because I can tell you now I only wash my hair with WEN and it is not greasy, no waxy build up and my hair looks really healthy. I have fine blonde hair that I dye so it is slightly damaged, but I have a ton of it so it can be a pain to get the shampoo out from under the layers, I really really like the Cucumber Aloe and just bought a bigger bottle, my hair is mid back and I find I really only need 5-7 pumps per section so don't use the 40 plus pumps, saves the product and me money.

I first purchased a three pack of small bottles of Wen in different flavors: Almond Mint, Lavender, and Cucumber Aloe.

I have straight, fine hair and it had been looking a little dull and lifeless. I had stumbled across the infomercial and thought it was worth trying...I was thinking of trying a new shampoo anyway.

My initial reaction to the product was very positive. My hair looked shinier and healthier, and I had a lot less flyaways.

The negative was that the product seemed to weigh my hair down no matter how much I rinsed, and my hair got oily quickly, so I had to wash everyday instead of my normal every other day. The Cucumber Aloe seemed to have the least oily effect, and I liked it enough to invest the fifty bucks in a bigger bottle.

Now that I've been using it a total of about three months, I don't like it so much anymore. I feel like there's a build-up of oil on my scalp. The weather has turned warmer, so that might be adding to the oil as well. (Please note that I have never had an oily scalp or hair before.)

I think I'll put it away until winter returns.

I was skeptical, but wanted to try something for my colored (red) hair that fades so fast. I also have oily hair so I must wash it everyday. This product works! Not only has my hair kept its brightness much longer than before, but I can actually skip a day of "washing" if I want to. It is expensive but I have found that I can use about 2/3 of what they say (I have shoulder length thick but fine hair) and it still works great. The extra pump as a leave-in conditioner is also a great idea. I highly recommend it...if you can afford it.

After a year on Wen, I switched back to regular shampoo for a little bit just to check, and regretted the decision in less than a week. However, we still love the Wen. VERY impressive product.

My wife uses this one because she feels her hair feels less greasy than the others. To me, the Cucumber Aloe is a whole lot thinnner/watery than some of the others. I use the Tea Tree Oil. - Hair Care - Aloe - Conditioner - Cleansing Conditioner'
