Porter-cable - porter-cable, compressor

This is a nice combo pack for the weekend user or hobbyist. The compressor requires no maintenance... a definite consideration when buying. Everything is easily accessible for adjustments and connections. The unit is compact, fairly light and packs up well for mobility. Compressor is a bit loud but I can live with that for the price. There is no air nozzle included, you'll need to buy that separately. Porter Cable PC3Pak Finish Nailer/Brad Nailer/Stapler Compressor Combo Kit

I hadn't as much as touched a nail gun prior to this purchase so I was a bit apprehensive at first. I was doing a remodel project and opted to do my own custom trim so I needed something for fast and clean nailing and finish nailing. This combo package was absolutely perfect for my project. Very easy to use and short learning curve. Quick-connect locking works great for switching from tool to tool very quickly. I liked the carrying case that it came with, makes for great storage of the guns and extra nails when not in use. The kit included most of what I needed - I only added some accessories for some of the other cool things you can do once you haver a compressor in your home! I have had no issues at all and this has been a great decision for me. Based on some estimates I had done prior to my purchase this item paid for itself by the time I finished doing the trim in my second room. Based on my usage so far I am pretty sure the quality of this Porter Cable product will stand the test of time - at the least, long enough for me to finish my project.

Dear,To whom it my concern,

This tool set is great! But there are no tool cases for the air nailers. the bag sent with the set is fine. But it does not keep the air guns very good. The tools should of come with individual cases, so they would not be banging together when transporting them from job to job. A must have to for a professional job everytime!

The Livescribe Pulse Smartpen is one component of an astonishing system. To take full advantage of its capabilities you need to use special dot paper. One spiral notebook comes with your smartpen. It doesn't take much imagination to realize that sooner or later the notebook will be completely full. The real value of the system depends not just on the price of the pen and starter components but on the affordability of necessary components. For instance printers can sell cheaply because ink is expensive.

These notebooks are reasonably priced, making it clear that Livescribe is not marketing its pen on a model similar to printers. They represent good value which makes the entire system more valuable. Livescribe Single Subject Spiral Notebook ANA-00017, 4-Pack, Nos. 1-4

This is the same notebook that comes as the "starter" notebook with your Livescribe pen. It has 8.5 x 11 inch perforated pages and is spiral-bound. For those who need full sized writing paper, it is excellent. Inkflow from the Livescribe is excellent. The inside covers offer a number of touch-sensitive gadgets, such as keyboards and a calculator, that work with the Livescribe, as well as Livescribe pen controls.

Personally, I've come to prefer the smaller journal sized books for use with the Livescribe, but still use the full-sized notebook from time to time.

It is, frankly, nice to have the choice of the two sizes. Make sure you are familiar with Livescribe's notebook numbering system, which is explained in their Help file.

Jerry

I read somewhere that LiveScribe will permit users to print their own dot paper in the near future. I called the company (1-877-727-4239) a few days ago, and a female representative told me that a software update will be available in November 2008 to allow this capability. This is very good news. I hope LiveScribe will not slip on that schedule.

This product goes with the Smart Pen. It's fine as a notebook, but the ruling should be wider. That would make the text conversion with the complementary MyScript software easier. Right now, if you have handwriting with long tails on your y's, f's, p's, etc, these letters will drop down and interfere with the caps, dots on your i's, quotation marks, etc. on your next line, and make it hard for the software to accurately convert your notes to text. Just saying. Not optimized for people with larget handwriting, ie, most women.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my livescribe pen, and these notebooks are great. I love that you can keep up to 8 notebooks at a time. I've never needed more than 4 or 5 at a time, but the ability to is fantastic. If you're a student, whether it be high school or college or beyond, a livescribe pen is a purchase you WILL NEVER REGRET! I love it so much, I wish I'd had it in high school! Since I've gotten it, it's made studying easier and I actually absorb more of the information, and I haven't gotten anything less than an A since I've had it. Would highly recommend to EVERY student. Even if you can only get the 1GB (that's actually the one I have, and it holds a TON, I don't know why anyone would need the bigger varieties) I promise you will not regret it! Thank you Amazon, for offering livescribe's products, love that Prime shipping!

These are the notebooks that you need to use with your livescribe pen, are exactly the same as the one that you find in the livescribe's original package. They are numbered,so be sure you buy 1-4 first and then 5-8. After you finish, not sure what you suppposed to do! Enjoy.

They are a little expensive, but I get a lot of use from them.

I am a student at the Community College, taking Advanced Word, dealing with presentation graphics. There are a lot of notes projected on a screen, visual is as important as the microphone in the Smartpen, so these are helpful.

As I do not always review my notes right away, (sometimes two or three days later), I can upload the data from the Smartpen into the computer, see the notes that were taken, and hear the recording of the class. With the LiveScribe pen and the notebook, I really get everything I need to complete my assignments.

I only wish LiveScribe would create dot paper in a steno book. In one of my classes, spiral bound subject books are not used. Like when taking Minutes of a Meeting.

I think all students and secretaries taking minutes could benefit from the Smartpen and the dot paper.

The format of the LiveScribe pen is .aac, not readable by all media players, so I have to convert to mp3, and export the written documents from the LiveScribe Manager software into a word document. I then put them on my flash drive and always have them available to me.

Between the Smartpen and the notebooks, I have become spoiled. These products are a life-line in school.'

Fine Motor Skills

My two year old loves this! My kiddo is dexterous like you wouldn't believe, and has a passion for opening and closing doors as well as removing covers and lids (electrical socket safety plugs, the backs of remotes, change purses, bottle tops, baby wipes) and opening clasps (wallet, watches, bracelets). If your child is the type who's always looking for new and exciting ways to raise your blood pressure with feats of exquisite motor control, this latchboard is a great way to redirect that energy and curiousity.

I remember reading some horrified parent exclaim that perhaps teaching young kids to open latches and locks is a dangerous idea, but realistically speaking - the latches featured here probably aren't used in a safety capacity anyway. (Unless you hide your dynamite behind a miniature chain locked door. And you might want to rethink that.)

The thing is also virtually indestructable. I can say this with confidence because it was "tested" by the brats next door, and those boys could destroy a padded cell. The colors and pictures are bright and appealing, too; it's remarkably well made.

My only beef is the cost of Melissa and Doug products, but since it's hand made I can understand why it's necessary. Keep up the fine work, guys. Melissa & Doug Deluxe Latches Board

This toy is definitely a winner. Our 21 month old son loves it and will play for it often. He especially loves the door with the 6 goldfish.

My only complaint is that I feel that the 1st 2 doors were VERY hard to open. I had to have my dad "perform surgery" on them and loosen them up. I'm not even sure how he did it but they're nice and easy to move now. I can't imagine even a 4 or 5 year old being able to move those 2 the way they were. Maybe I just got a really tough one? The other 4 doors were great from Day 1 though.

You can do a lot of mini games with this toy - like have your child count the animals for you, tell you the colors of the houses, etc.

Another hit from Melissa & Doug!!!

We got this toy for our son when he turned one recently. Several weeks later, he still plays with it (or "works" on it!) every day, unlike just about any other present he got. We leave it propped up where he can crawl over and play with it on his own. He has gradually been figuring out some of the ways to open some of the doors, but there is still a lot to figure out. If your child loves to play with mechanical devices and take things apart as much as ours does, then s/he will love this latches board.

So my son is only 2 and he definitely likes to work the latches and open the doors. He can do some of them, but not others.

I've been looking at this toy a lot since my son always needs my help when he plays with it.

I think there are some quality issues with this "latches board". As others have mentioned, the latches can be hard to work (even for me). The second latch in particular (blue one with #2 on front)is very very tight. It's too tight for a child to use. But they understand how it's SUPPOSED to work, so it ends up being frustrating for them instead of fun or educational.

The design is not great. The latches and doors all open and get caught on each other really easily. If the latch from #1 is flipped down, it blocks the door from opening or closing below it. The chain link on #5 gets caught in the latch for #6.

The actual design for most of the locks (just like the real ones they mimic) is for them to be vertical, not flat on the ground. The pictures of the doors and windows also implies that they should be "up" as normal doors and windows are. The weight and balance of this toy does not allow one to sit it up or prop it up very easily. Maybe this latches board could come with a stand or prop for the back in the future?

If you are considering this toy, I might suggest a M&D puzzle instead. They do them very well, much better than this.

The Latches Board is a great toy. Like all Melissa & Doug products I've seen, it's durable, fun, and excellent for little-tyke brains. I try to find toys to help my 15-month-old daughter with problem solving and coordination, and though she's not strong enough to work a couple of the latches on this toy, the others work well for someone her age.

My brother is 27 with severe autism. He is non verbal with the mind of a two year old and needless to say it is hard to find toys for him. With the strength of a grown man none of his toys last very long. I bought this toy for his Christmas and he loves it. It stays by his side all day. He loves playing with the doors and enjoys opening and closing them. The toy is very durable and provides a good challenge for him. I would recommend this to anyone with an autistic child as well as small children.

I purchased this product for my daughter who is blind, it is excellent for helping her to learn not only about all types of latches, but also cause and effect.

My 4 year old that is sighted enjoys it as much if not more than my other daughter.

I definitely recommend this toy for it's educational value, excellent durability, and the fun the children have with it.

Based on the excellent reviews for this puzzle I bought it for my grandson, a 19 month old and another one for my 2 yr old granddaughter. Neither of them are interested in it. It's quite a heavy puzzle and the 19 mo. old uses it more like a Frisbee. Not fun!To undo all the latches to open a little door and see a picture of an animal just doesn't seem motivating enough. Stick with the age limitations on this puzzle.

Some of the doors have a tiny little crescent cut out to put a little finger in it to manipulate the door open. Neither can open the doors without help. One latch is way too tight to be opened by anyone more than at least 4 yrs old. I'm sure when they're 3 yrs old most of the latches and doors will be do-able for them.'

Timex Easy Alarm Watch - timex expedition, watches

I have a Rolex Perpetual Datejust and a couple of Seikos. I have been wearing one of these Timex watches for two years. Why? The EasySet or Turn and Pull Alarm is the most useful feature I have ever had on my wrist. As far as I can tell it is unique. Here is how it works. There are two rotating bezels INSIDE the dial; one with a red pointer (for the hour) and one with a black pointer (for the minutes). Your third bezel is the big rotating OUTER bezel that does all the work.

Let's pretend you just called someone and got a busy signal. You don't want to forget to call back, so you reach down, grab the outer bezel, as you spin the outer bezel the inner bezels/dials begin to spin. In an instant you move the minute (black) pointer to ten minutes ahead of the current time. You let go of the outer bezel and pull the second crown (the one at four o'clock) all the way out (two clicks). You are done! In the time it took you to read the first six letter of this paragraph you are DONE. No other watch has an alarm this simple to use. I use it all day long as a reminder for those things that normally "slip" my mind.

I also use it for appointments constantly. All of us have the experience of having an appointment or call scheduled for 3:00 PM (for example) all day you are reminding yourself. You look at your watch about every twenty minutes and then you look down and you are five minutes LATE. You lost track of time! Thousands of watches have alarms but you never use them because you have to go thru too many steps to set them. This is where this Timex excels over every other watch I have.

If you want to set the alarm for more than sixty minutes just twist the bezel until you have both the black and red pointers at the time you want and pull the second crown half-way (one click). Note: This is a twelve hour alarm, you can not set it for more than twelve hours. That never bothers me, I use my cell phones kludgy but efficient day planner for those things.

The alarm is an adequately loud, louder than any of my Seikos. The Indiglo light flashes in time with the alarm and is bright enough that it makes it a cinch to find your watch on a nightstand in the dark!

My original watch has been banged, dropped, immersed, worn out two bands and still works perfectly. There is a black painted stripe inside the outer bezel that flaked after about a year to reveal a brass ring. Once the paint came off the brass ring actually looks better than the painted ring. The Indiglo dial is a Timex feature that rocks. It is super bright, but the color of blue doesn't seem to hurt my night vision. The illumination is probably too bright for life or death surveillance work, but unless terrorist snipers are hunting you in the dark you will be fine.

If you give speeches, teach or preach, this is a perfect time piece. Set it as you go to the lectern, when it beeps you can instantly silence it. It is so easy to set you can actually set it for another five or ten minutes WHILE YOU ARE SPEAKING.

Why do I have three? My first is two years old and still on its original battery. I loved it so much that I wanted a backup. That first model I have is no longer available so I tracked down this T47902 and bought two out of fear they might be discontinued. I may buy one or two more!

I am a gadget person and I have had watches that looked more complicated than a short course if Differential Equations, but this is USEFUL and USABLE. If it fits your needs you will be buying a spare just like I did.

Jeff Timex Men's T47902 Expedition Easy Set Alarm Brown Leather Strap Watch

I purchased this Timex long ago off Amazon and found it to be a very nice watch. It is very heavy and has a good feel to it. The alarm feature is very handy. Some people complain that it is hard to set but the directions are on the back of the watch and after a few tries, it is very easy to do.

Another great feature is the Indiglo light feature. When camping or when the electricity is out, it can come in very handy.

TO GET ANOTHER WATCHBAND: I thought that getting a watchband for the T47902 would be a snap. A quick Google search and I thought I would find numerous places to order it. I was completely wrong. I could not find this anywhere. As a last resort, I called Timex directly and was pleasantly surprised to find the leather replacement band available for $10 including shipping. Just call 1-800-448-4639 and press "1" for English and then hold for customer service and to speak to a real person. Very simple. (this was updated from previously when you had to hit "3" to get to a real person).

I hope this review will help those not so much with picking out this watch but for finding a matching band. Enjoy the watch.

UPDATE: Apparently this watch is no longer being made and the replacement watch is the Timex Men's T45121 Expedition Easy Set Alarm Timex Men's T45121 Expedition Easy Set Alarm Classic Analog Watch which is OK but I prefer this one listed here. If you can still find it, grab it now!

For some reason I am always attracted to Timex Expedition watches especially which has the numerals. This is my 4th Timex watch in last 8 years and I am buying this model for the second time because I am captivated by its look.

As the previous reviewer mentioned, this is bit heavy but I feel very comfortable wearing it. Setting alarm is a breeze.

Only thing I noticed which might or might not be a concern (wrt the battery life) is the indiglo illumination. Most of the time when I fold my wrist the middle button is pressed illuminating the indiglo. It would have been nice they had a different button to the left side of the watch and not to the right side.

Overall this is a very good watch.

the service and delivery were great, but the watch I was replacing, another easy set alarm, was a vibrator alarm watch, I did not know timex had discontinued vibrators and replaced them with audible alarms that unless you are in a total noise free room, there is no way you can hear it, so paying for shipping to send it back was not worth it, not the seller's fault. jose - Watches - Timex Expedition - Indiglo - Great Watch'

Ink Jet Labels - avery, ink jet labels

It works good on boxes and bubble mailers that don't have any writing or printing on them. If you need to completely hide what is beneath the label, I recommend the Avery 5126 Labels with TrueBlock. I believe the smearing problem one person complained about is a Pixma printer problem rather than a label problem. My father used to have a Pixma printer too and it wouldn't print on smaller labels either without smearing the print. 200 Half Sheet Shipping Labels for Laser/InkJet for eBay, PayPal, USPS Click-n-Ship, UPS: 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" (Same size as Avery® 5126) [ONLY HouseLabels.com sells this product which will NOT curl and NOT jam. Competitors saying they sell our brand DO NOT!!]

I ordered these in hopes that I could use these instead of the more expensive (and higher quality) Avery 5126 labels. I received them and I tried to print, the printer could not feed them. I try using 12 sheets no good, tried 1 and it almost loaded, tried 2 and it works, but who wants to manual feed a single sheet every time when you have 20 or 30 labels to print? I was really hoping they would work since there were so cheap. But I guess that says it all. I tried many paper settings for my printer trying to get it to load from transparency to photo glossy and so on, but no go. If the seller wants to explain how to get them to work, I will edit this review.

First of all, these are DigiOrange labels, which can be found all over Amazon. With Amazon Prime shipping, however, these were still the best price.

Second, if strong chemical odors make you sick, it's worth spoiling yourself with the Avery labels. These smell like a combination of a tire factory and an oil refinery.

Third, these labels curl *big time*. I live in an arid, air-conditioned climate, and these labels are nearly curling onto themselves. If you live in a humid climate, these might make pretty good funnels. After airing them out thoroughly, it would be wise to keep a heavy book on top of them.

In their favor, these labels glide through my Canon MX420 and my bf's HP C8180 effortlessly, and because I'm such a cheapskate, I find them tolerable. I'll reserve my leftover Avery labels for when I need to block underlying markings.

I read a great many reviews before buying shipping labels a few months ago. The only pattern I could find was that people were very disappointed with some labels, but not others. How can that be if it's the same product? I decided maybe because it was NOT the same product. I have ordered from HOUSE LABELS twice now, and will continue to do so as long as I need these types of labels, or any other they carry. They are a fraction of the cost of Avery labels. They stick very well to anything, even 100% recycled cardboard. I've tested them, including leaving them on for a few days, no curling at all. I have a VERY finicky printer and these labels have NEVER jammed in my printer. Avery labels jam, at best, once every 4 or 5 sheets. I absolutely recommend house labels. I have only written a review for anything once before, and I'm certainly not a plant by the company, I'm just an itsy bitsy tiny bookseller who needs the best possible value and performance wherever he can get it. Be sure your order is being fulfilled by "house labels" and you will receive, (via priority mail, by the way) an excellent product at an excellent price. If I could ask for anything at all more from the company, I would say score the back side diagonally so custom cuts can be peeled off more easily, but that's a problem I can live with if I have to. Highly recommended. 5 stars. A+. Whatever grading system you want to use, if you like saving money and getting something just as good for a reasonable price, try these labels out.

I was rather excited to try these labels out for the price. Sadly, I bought 200 sheets. I have a Canon Pixma MP460 that I use to print off my shipping labels on Amazon and through PayPal. The labels come out smeared or spotty. I would not recommend this product. In the past, I used the 3M 3200-V shipping labels and those worked MUCH better.

-Difficult to tell which side is the printing side and which is the back as they look and feel exactly the same

-Difficult to peel the label off as its completely flush with the backing on all sides

-It curls like crazy and once it sticks to itself, you can't "unstick" it, so the label is ruined.

After ruining about 5 sheets I finally got the "trick" down to apply it. Any time a product requires a "trick" to use, it's a BAD product!

Super fast shipping, better than what was expected and honestly for the price they are unbeatable. Already mailed out numerous packages and no issues at all. They went through the printer A-OK, even half a sheet and stuck to package perfectly. Not sure what else you could want from a label. Much better value than the avery labels which I spent a small fortune on. For the price this is an incredible value!

I was buying labels from Quality Shipping Supplies for the past 2 years. They changed something- probably their contract with a manufacturer, and the last batch I had were terrible. I actually got my money back from Amazon, the labels would peel off by themselves, and they wanted to curl up into narrow tubes.

So I was on the hunt for a better quality label without spending a fortune on Avery. Well, I tried a small order of the Houselabels (400 labels). I have been using these for the past month and they are fantastic. They are thicker, the glue is very, very good (be careful you are lined up when applying, no second chances!) and they have "Houselabels" printed on the back of each sheet so no more guessing which side to print on! Plus they do not curl up in my Canon S900 inkjet.

I am sure you can read in the title of this page that the listing is for HouseLabels own brand of labels, and they don't sell them through other retailers. Currently valuemailers is shown as having the lowest price, which is patently false (I buy shippers from valuemailers, but their shipping labels are junk). I don't understand why Amazon allows other sellers to co-list this item when they are not selling it. So be careful if you are trying to buy this item, you want HOUSELABELS to ship your labels to you. - Avery - Mailing Labels - Clicknship - Ink Jet Labels'

Cordless Grass Trimmer - cordless weed whacker, cordless weed eater

I decided to buy this trimmer after reading all the reviews for the Ni-cad one. I was hoping the Li-ion battery would give me extra run time. So far, I haven't been able to run it down! I haven't had enough trimming at one time to see how long it will go.

I have a friend that recommended this trimmer (although he has the ni-cad one). I must say that I'm pleased with it. I previously had a 24 volt one from Sears. It was a good trimmer, but heavy. The Worx is much lighter. It doesn't have as much power as the Sears, but plenty for normal yard work. One of the first things I noticed is that it actually cuts better than my old Sears model. If you're expecting a full blown replacement for a grass trimmer, you will probably be disappointed. It doesn't have near that much power. But, if you're realistic in your expectations, and have normal yard work, I think you'll like it. If you go to the Worx web site, you can get your string for just the cost of shipping. I ordered six spools and it cost me about $6.00 for the shipping. That's very reasonable in my book. The quality of the unit appears to be very good too. I am very satisfied with my purchase. WORX GT WG151.5 18-Volt Lithium Ion Cordless Electric String Trimmer/Edger With Quick Charger

I have the Worx GT 18-volt cordless trimmer. This is the more expensive model that features a lithium battery. If you have any amount of lawn trimming to do beyond the circumference of a 5,000 square foot lawn, carefully consider the more expensive model. The battery potential of the standard model is significantly less which means you have less operation time to begin with and gradually deceasing work time as the battery ages. The added expense of the lithium battery is worth the investment.

However beware of the Worx customer service. If for any reason you have a need to invoke a warranty claim on the trimmer, charger, or battery, plan on having at least a free half hour to wait on the phone for a customer service representative. Customer service is only available during a traditional work-hour week. This means if something goes wrong you better be mindful of the anniversary date of your purchase and give calling the Worx customer service your highest priority in your schedule. The email access is unreliable because it seems Worx has only one person responding. If she is out of the office, you will get an automated reply email instructing you to use the phone system.

My lithium battery failed within the time of the one-year warranty. I had trouble reaching a customer service representative during office hours. My email claim resulted in my being redirected to the phone system. Seven days after my warranty expired I finally reached a service representative. Despite the fact of my good-faith effort to get through to customer service the preceding two weeks, I was denied the warranty replacement because I was seven days late. The representatives were empathetically kind about my dilemma but were unable to do anything beyond their willingness to take my order for a new unit. These batteries are expensive.

I submitted a letter of complaint to the Worx corporate office. We will see what they do because I will update this blog entry with a summary of the outcome.

--------------------------------

Update --- July 1, 2010

I have a confirmed delivery of my letter to the Worx corporate office in Charlotte, NC, as of June 14, 2010. My letter was respectfully crafted requesting that my warranty claim be honored, given that my good-faith effort for a timely claim was frustrated by the poorly structured Worx customer service system. As of July 1, the Worx customer service failed to make any effort to respond. It seems that, although the Worx product is a decent yard tool, the buyer would need to understand that Worx is not interested in post-market customer satisfaction. Once you have your Worx tool, you are on your own despite the stated warranty because, in effect, Worx structured the customer service to be unresponsive beyond taking new purchase orders.

I noticed that the tool is designed to encourage the customer to be depended upon Worx to return each year to order spent trimmer line and purchase new batteries. Although the line is "free", the shipping and handling cost is pricey. One would do better to save the spool and rewind it with less expensive line from any hardware store. The batteries are expensive to replace every year. This is especially aggravating considering that ordinarily a reasonably manufactured lithium battery could easily last two or more years at a usage rate of one recharge per week. My battery lasted only 15 recharges. Given the battery price, the actual cost of each battery charge is about $4.00 plus the electrical service fee. I do not know if the competition is any better, but buyer beware of Worx customer service.

This trimmer has proved very serviceable for my 1/3 acre suburban lawn. It's not as high powered as the gas driven other brands out there, but for general trimming around the foundation, flower beds, fence posts, etc. it's a great machine.

I like the flexibliity of the unit: the handle articulates, the aluminum shaft telescopes to adjust for user height, and the cutter head angle adjusts to insure comfortable hortizontal trimming. Definitely, a well-designed unit from an ergonometric perspective. In the trimmer mode, the cutter guide/guard provides close, precise trimming without accidentally damaging plants or flowers, something hard to achieve with my old corded Toro. A few quick snaps and adjustments and the unit converts into a sidewalk or driveway edger. A caveat here: the unit trims nicely as an edger, but it's not definitely not powered to trench cut with the trimmer cord. When I tried to get the machine to cut into the dirt next to the sidewalk, it balked and the trimmer string would not advance properly. If used just to edge the grass with a clean vertical cut, the unit performed nicely.

Power-wise, the GT's lithium ion battery provides sufficient power to handle my 1/3 acre routine trimming on one full charge. The user manual indicated a 30 minute recharge cycle for a full recharge, but my recharges have been about 40-45 minutes--still a very quick recharge time compared to other battery-powered models. I pushed the unit by tackling some overgrown grass and weeds in the adjacent vacant lot and it cut them nicely, but they obviously strained the unit to the limits of its power capacity. It can handle that type of work, but if you have lots of it, you're better off with another machine with more power.

If you're in the market for a lightweight, easy to use, comfortable trimmer/edger with good power for general trimming and edging on a typically sized suburban lawn, the WE151.5 is a good choice. The old corded Toro trimmer I replaced with the Worx GT was nowhere near as versatile, convenient, or comfortable to use. Greatest Albums - classic rock, led zeppelin

This is Led Zeppelin's best CD. No other CD truly defines this band better than their self-titled debut. All songs on this album are indispensible. Dazed and Confused is a masterpiece, as is Babe, I'm Gonna Leave you. But the real heart and soul of this record are its blues tracks You Shook Me and I Can't Quit You Baby anchor the album. Zep was always at their best playing the blues, just check out Since I've Been Lovin' You. Your Time is Gonna Come still gives me goosebumps, and How Many More Times is the hidden gem on the album. Zeppelin would never top the overall consistency of this album, it is a true landmark in rock history and should be in every fans' collection. Led Zeppelin

The short guitar bursts on "Good Times Bad Times" that open this firecracker debut in 1969 could be viewed as a forewarning of great songs to come, some of the most historic moments in rock and roll. These four guys were actual musicians who, as a collective unit, created a sound that was unmatchable at the time. And they didn't just blast away at their instruments, either. "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" showcases gentle acoustic guitar at first, then later driving riffs that could inspire anyone to play air guitar. Even on their first record, Zeppelin weren't afraid to draw out their songs (some would say overstay their welcome), and four of the nine tunes last (and blast) for over six minutes. Like The Doors, Zeppelin had a keen interest in the blues; underneath all the raw rock on this album is a soulful, bluesy sound and aura with two Willie Dixon covers that the band "Zeppelinizes" to the max. Nothing, however, tops the segway from "You Shook Me" to the blazing "Dazed and Confused," which sounds amazing, raw and blistering. The organ work of John Paul Jones on "Your Time is Gonna Come" is truly beautiful, sounding like a church hymn on a rough-and-tumble rock and roll album. Undoubtedly, these British lads mixed sonic beauty and thrashing rawness to create an art form that still resonates today. "Black Mountain Side" is a busy acoustic ditty that sounds positively charming next to its follower, "Communication Breakdown," but that's Zeppelin's style in a nutshell -- heartlifting to raw in a matter of seconds. These rocking songs come off as urgent and passionate. Lyrically, the album is all blues as Plant wails majestically about one heartbreak after the other, moaning about his lost women and unabashedly feeling lonesome and sorry for himself. No matter, he'd have plenty of time to attain more women in the future. This is the work of a band ready to take on the world -- on its own terms.

This is not my favorite Zep album, nor do I think it's their best, but it's a great debut and sign of things to come from Jimmy Page (guitar), Robert Plant (vocals), John Paul Jones (bass/keys) and John Bonham (drums).Led Zeppelin was one of those rare groups that combined musicianship, live performance, charisma, myth and decadence into an enduring legend. The critics may have hated them, and detractors may still rip on them, but this band recorded a decent catalog of material. These guys were also very eclectic with their musical styles, with straight-ahead rock/metal, white blues, acoustic folk, and eastern-tinged raga all showing up on different tunes. They may have shamelessly ripped off classic blues, call it sampling, but they were unafraid to push the boundaries of rock music."Good Times Bad Times" is a crunchy opener, with its guitar rhythm puzzle, outstanding drum fills, and excellent bass riffs."Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" has a nice acoustic guitar ballad feel, but rises and falls with varying dynamics. The lyrics are pretty standard 'my woman done me wrong' but Plant turns in a good performance."You Shook Me" is a slow-burn blues tune. Great organ solo. Interesting guitar/vocal interplay between Page and Plant."Dazed and Confused" is a signature tune for Led Zeppelin. My favorite thing about this song is the timing of the rhythm section, especially John Bonham's drumming."You Time is Gonna Come" begins with cathedral-like organ playing by Jones before breaking into an acoustic/rock number. More lyrics about 'woman done me wrong.'"Black Mountain Side" is an instrumental featuring acoustic guitar and tablas. I like Dread Zeppelin's version for humor."Communication Breakdown" revs things up with more crunchy rock, with a great bassline and blistering guitar solo by Page."I Can't Quit You Baby" is another slow blues burn, with plenty of tasty guitar licks by Page."How Many More Times" has a nice swinging rhythm groove, wah guitar, and probably Plant's best vocal performance on the disk. All in all, this is a solid effort, although the slow tempo tunes bog it down at times, and Plant is definitely still developing as a vocalist here. Still, this is a fine debut and well worth adding to your collection.

I really don't know what to say about this. All words of praise pale in comparison to the music. It defines an era, a moment, a generation. I can't listen to it without a flood of memories and feelings. There is nothing like it. The best of the best.

"From the chunky, hard riff that opens "Good Times, Bad Times" (listen to how John Bonham triples up on his bass drum during the first verse) Led Zeppelin introduced the music world to something entirely new. The zest, fervor and passion that they'd put into thier final performances as the "New Yardbirds" was heightened on this first album, and perfected with relentless touring and concentrated studio time. "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" perfectly showcases Robert Plants' staggering vocal prowess (remember he was still a boy of 21 at the time) and the groups' brilliant arranging and playing. The two sprawling, bluesy excursions these blokes take on have become classics in thier own right (the pummeling "Dazed & Confused" and the album closing "How Many More Times" give the album it's epic feel and are perfect examples of how the blues informed and influenced the band from the very beginning. The shorter songs are oustanding as well, the punkish attack of "Communication Breakdown" provides a quick burst of energy for the listener, while "Your Time Is Gonna Come" is perfect acoustic pop that still doesn't sound dated or contrived. "Black Mountain Side" owes a debt to the Beatles in the middle 60's experimental period with it's use of tabla, acoustic instruments and somewhat unusual arrangement (no vocals). The entire band seemed to really coalesce into a tight, ferocius and intuative unit in a very short time as this debut album is completely lacking in any of the awkwardness or timidity usually associated with a new band. Throughout, Jimmy Pages' guitar (electric and acoustic) whips and soars over the heavy blues rock like a bird in flight, he essentialy rewrites the book on hard rock guitar playing here. John Bonham (THE GREATEST ROCK DRUMMER EVER, PERIOD) and John Paul Jones are an astounding rhythm section incapable of ever losing the groove and they stretch out to wondrous effect here on several selections. Led Zeppelin were a true band who only got better with time. Though their sound became more streamlined with subsequent releases, they never lost the fire that they started with in '68. This is a classic whose influence has been far reaching , but the years have only made it sound fresher and more vital. ... - Led Zeppelin - Greatest Albums - Classic Rock - Rock Guitarists'

Finish Nails

Not much to say about the nails - They are exactly as described and fit my Bostitch nailer.

Sadly, Amazon shipped them loose in a cardboard box. The factory package broke open and the 4" sticks of nails were broken into 1/2 to 2" clumps. They still work, just more of a hassle loading. Bostitch SB16-2.00-1M 2-Inch by 16 Gauge Bright Finish Nail (1,000 per Box)'

Yoga Mat Bag - gaiam, bag

I love this yoga bag! It is machine washable and therefore easy to clean. It also snaps fully open, so I can easily put my extra long, extra thick, sticky yoga mat in the bag. It's plenty big to toss my towel, tee, and water bottle on top of my oversized mat. Plus the outside, zippered pocket is great for keeping my keys, wallet and cell handy. Gaiam Tree of Life Yoga Mat Tote Bag

Aesthetically beautiful tree design, but could be functionally better. Holds two mats (5mm & 3mm) but the soft fabric is not supportive. The bag ends flop and turn the simple act of placing a mat in a bag into a chore. The snaps work well, but do not allow for complete closure or upright storage. Shoulder strap is not adjustable and carrying the bag lengthwise is cumbersome. Would prefer a longer and deeper bag, stiffer fabric, complete closure, adjustable shoulder strap and upright carry.

This is a very nice bag and is sturdy. i bought a heavy yoga mat from another company and it fits in here just fine. its bigger than i thought. but beware that its not wide enough for the extra wide mats. check widths first. overall good product and i am satisfied.

I like the bag. The tree of life embroidery in a lovely shade of green is real pretty. Love that its roomy enough to pack all the essentials. Plenty of space to put my extra long mat plus my regular mat. There's also room for a block and strap. There is an outside pocket and an inside pocket which is ample to carry my keys, wallet and towel. For some reason I thought the bag would be a bit rigid. The ends of the bag keep folding over. So it doesn't sit straight up like in the picture shown. If it were a little rigid it would've been easier to take the mats in and out of it. Haven't washed it but when I do I hope it won't shrink. The magnet clasps are good. However, a zipper would've probably enabled the bag to not fold over at the ends. But on the plus side you don't have to worry about the zipper getting faulty and rendering it useless.

Just got my Yoga Tote and though i love the bag (it's nice and roomy, fits my mat and a set of clothes easily, pretty design, well made, etc.) i ended up being the jerk on the crowded subway with the awkward size bag. the straps on the bag dont allow your mat to lie against your body so if you live in cities like NYC where you take the subway or bus everywhere, your bag tends to take up a lot more space than traditional sling bags. this bag would be fantastic if i drove to work and could leave it in my car but unfortunately, that's not the case for me...

This yoga mat bag is nice and spacious, with long straps and room to throw in clothes/water bottle in addition to the mat. The only reason I don't give it a higher rating is because it gets dirty very easily. I guess it's to expect with white fabric, but I would hope it would have some sort of a fabric protectant that allows dirt to be wiped off easily - which I don't think it does. But other than that, great bag!

I bought this yoga bug because at the photo is seems nice and when you see it is BEAUTIFUL. The bad things that I notice once I used it, is that if you have a heavy mat it starts bothering you at the neck and shoulder when you carry it and also, that I can't control hiting people or things with it as I walk.

Maybe with a lighter yoga mat is better, I don't know.

Still, the fabrics is high quality.

The bag is made well and great for fitting in my extra thick yoga mat and towels for bikram yoga. It fits a lot of stuff, but cumbersome due to it's size. Constantly knocking into people with my bag. The straps are uncomfortable. Would be better if they were adjustable.

This yoga bag is fantastic! I disagree with previous reviewers who said the snaps don't close and it doesn't hold enough. I put in my 1/4" thick yoga mat AND both my blocks AND my strap AND my Yogitoes towel and I can still close the snaps! Plus there are pockets both inside and outide for my phone, wallet and keys.

I agree that this bag is a bit unwieldy if you are in cramped spaces. You tend to bang people around you when you turn if you get too close because it rests perpendicular to your body. It's not a problem for me because I live in the suburbs and drive to yoga class, and I store it either in my car or my foyer. If you pack it right, you CAN store it upright in a corner.

It is made of very sturdy canvas and looks nice too. All in all, a great bag if you don't have space issues while traveling. Highly recommend.

This a great yoga bag (especially for hot yoga). The bag is attractive but also highly functional. I am able to quickly and easily pack yoga mat, yogitoes towel, water, face towel and snap it shut (or you can leave open). The straps are long enough so that it's very comfortable to carry and it's machine washable! There is a pocket inside as well as an outside zip pocket (large enough to fit all of the above at the same time: phone, keys, tissues). I'm very happy with this purchase. - Bag - Yoga - Gaiam - Yoga Accessories'

Crystal River - flyfishing, fly fishing

I have yet to find a better spinner for taking trout. I was hoping that the sizes of the lures were bigger. The smaller size is too light if you are planning on fishing some deeper pools or faster moving water. Panther Martin Best of the Best Red Hook Spinner Fishing Lure Kit, Pack of 6

These are simply the BEST spinning lures I have ever used. These things make fish strike in any weather, any water, any time. I've caught trout, bass, carp, catfish, whitefish, and walleye on these little babys. I'll never stop using worms, but for the money, you can't beat a green Panther!

These spinners are much better than any roostertails or any other lures i have used. I tried for hours using the roostertail and within 15 min of using the larger panther marten yellow spinner w/ red dots i had caught 5 fish (1 brown, 4 rainbows) ranging from 10 in to 18 in. I highly recommend this to any avid trout fishermen, the trout just cant get enough! - Flyfishing - Fly Fishing - Trout - Crankbait'

Multicultural Education - classroom, multicultural

This book is intended as a "racism 101" for white educators, and it is extremely successful as an introductory text. What's in the book? It begins with a personal narrative, explaining how the author (who is white) went from ignorance of racism to being an internationally known anti-racist activist. It continues with a history of how Europeans and their descendants gained their dominant position; an exploration of how this history affects white people and people of color today; suggestions for white awakening and action; a review of psychological literature on "white identity development," followed by a deeper discussion of how this development works; and a final call to share in vision and action. Who will find it useful? (1) Antiracist activists seeking to educate white educators will find this book a *very* useful tool. I highly recommend it for this purpose. It is a basic introductory text, as I said a sort of "Racism 101," but unlike many other excellent books with similar scope and goals, this one is well-received by white educators who are new to this field. (More on this below)(2) White educators who want to fight racism but have little prior exposure to anti-racist literature, and/or those who have reacted with hurt, anger and confusion to anti-racist literature they have encountered, will probably find this book helpful, comforting, eye-opening and inspiring. (3) Those who have already read extensively on this topic may find the book a bit basic, and at times iffy in its analysis. Howard's historical overview is fine as an overview, but his attempt at historical/sociological theory re the origins and function of racism is a bit superficial and generally not well-grounded in current thinking. (4) However, there is one section that may be useful to all readers, including those with prior knowledge--the exposition of "white identity development." For readers of all colors who have been perplexed by the reactions of white individuals (including ourselves!) dealing with issues of racism, this section sheds much light! It also can be helpful to white people in monitoring our progress, identifying areas for improvement, and pushing ourselves farther along the path. Why do I recommend it as an introductory text for white educators? Over the last 18 months, my cohort of teacher education students (all very good-hearted & intelligent, & almost all white), have read numerous materials on racism in education. Many/most of my classmates experienced anti-racist writers as "angry" and felt that they were being personally "attacked" (a reaction that I have heard in other contexts as well). When we came to this book, however, my classmates responded warmly and eagerly. Perhaps most significantly, one person said (to general nodding & agreement), "Now I feel that I'm ready to go back and re-read Lisa Delpit." Indeed, ever since we read Howard, white students have seemed much more receptive to the message of other anti-racist writers. Why do people react this way? I'm not sure, but from my classmates' comments, I'm guessing there are three main reasons: (1) The author is white, and while it may be frustrating that that would make it easier for some white people to hear his message, it's probably inevitable that it does (although whiteness is not an automatic "in"--I have heard people react just as antagonistically to Julie Kailin as to Lisa Delpit). (2) The whole concept of "white identity development" seems to help white learners in two ways: (a) It makes it seem ok to be taking the first steps on the journey; that it doesn't make you a "bad person" if you haven't got it all figured out yet. This may help one to approach future learning less defensively. (b) Understanding the concept of *institutional* racism is a big stumbling-block for many, but the "identity" framework actually seems to help with that, perhaps because it conveys that this is a collective problem and collective solution. (3) There is a strong emphasis on hope and vision throughout the book, even though it does not sugar-coat the ravages of racism past and present. I get the impression that this overall tone makes it easier for many people to cope with the painful and distressing aspects of the book. To sum up, I would strongly recommend this book as a first text for white educators (and others) who are just beginning to explore issues of racism, and/or for those whose past explorations have been distressing and confusing. It would be an ideal book for principals to use in staff development. All the best to all teachers everywhere who are trying to walk this path! We Can't Teach What We Don't Know: White Teachers, Multiracial Schools (Multicultural Education Series)

If you've ever beeen called racist by your students, but you think you're not, than this is a must read for you. Howard takes the reader on a journey of self discovery, helping the reader to understand the subtle and overt elements of racial discrimination that are present in today's schools. While "tools" or quick fixes are not presented, the book efficiently and concretely addresses the underlying assumptions that form the basis of US society and education systems that promote discrimination and maintain the status quo. The author uses his personal and historical experiences to illustrate the nature of white privilege, the assumption of rightness and normalacy. By examining these topics, teachers are able to examine their daily activities, decisions and speech to identify and eliminate the promotion of such values. This book helps us move past "I see all my children the same, I don't care if they are white, black, brown, or purple." To truly accepting that we see each other differently, that we should acknowledge and celebrate the differences, that we can learn from one another and that through acceptance we find our similarities. - Multicultural - Classroom - Diversity - Leadership'
