Digital Camera Case - sony camera case, sony

I just purchased the new Sony DSC-W50 and wanted a case to protect it. This is a great case in my opinion. Soft and plush inside, but firm and protective on the outside. The camera is held firmly in place from the moment you first slide it in the pocket. The additional small zippered pocket on the outside is handy for extra memory sticks, or maybe even an extra battery. The belt loop is very handy, and there is even a metal ring so that you can attach it to a carabiner or something of the like if desired. However, what I like most is that it will protect your investment and look good doing it. I think it's one of the best buys out there. It can be had for less than $15 delivered from several sellers through Amazon. Sony LCS-CST General Purpose Soft Carrying Case for Slim Cybershot Digital Cameras

I bought this case for my Canon SD300 that I had recently purchased. I was looking for a small compact camera case that still have some type of padding or support. While at the store, I compared the case meant for the Canon to many others. I picked up this one mainly because it had much more protection compared to the Canon case, and it came with an extra zipper in the front, perfect for that extra memory card/battery you need to carry around. Even the inner lining of the case is exceptional, with fuzzy material soft enough not to scratch the LCD screen. My SD300 fits perfectly in the case, and although they may not be the same brand, it definitely was a great buy.

I bought this for my Sony N1 digital camera. Buying online I was worried that it would be too small or too bulky but it's absolutely the perfect size. The price is great especially for something that is Sony. I like the fact that it has a strap that you can snap onto your belt. There's also a small zippered pouch on the inside front that you can put an extra memorystick or even battery. The only thing that could make this case even better would be a clip for those who don't wear belts but still wear pants.

I bought this case for my wife's new Sony DSC-W70 camera and she loves it. It is pretty slick and fits the camera just tight and right. Its plush interior foam pad offers plenty of protection. I'd say that the camera would suffer litlle damage when dropped. The exterior case is made with a high quality material that not only looks good but will also last for years. The whole thing stays small enough to be carried in my wife's purse easily. Keep in mind that its overall thickness is about 1.5 inch (while the camera is just 0.5 inch) so it won't fit comfortably in any pant/shirt pocket though. If this is what you want, then probably get the leather case model without foam instead. On the other hand, we like the extra protection, zippered pocket, the handy belt loop and the unbeattable price/quality/look.

I bought this soft case for my recently acquired Sony DSC-T100. The case fits like a glove. It has a velcro front tab closure that works (no surprise). There is a belt loop on the back that fastens with a stiff snap at the bottom (can go through something stationary like a belt loop). It's got a convenient D-ring for attachment to a pack clip or carabiner, and it has a tiny zippered compartment capable of holding a few spare memory cards or a spare battery (both would be tight). The case is padded lightly but surely all over. The top flap is wide enough and sturdy enough on the edges to protect the case's contents if it should fall on something hard like tile or concrete. And it looks OK, too. I'm of two minds about the Sony logo on the front -- sometimes I think it's safer to not advertise what's inside a case, but, hey, it's their product and they seem really fixated on getting their name on EVERYTHING possible. It seems like it's only a matter of time until Sony and Starbucks duke it out in a takeover battle.

Ordered this right along with my Sony T-9 digital camera from Amazon. Read all the reviews prior to selecting my case, and this was rated best! Now that I have mine in hand... I have to AGREE with everything I read! Works great!!! Fantastic size, and plenty of padding for protection of my expensive pride and joy! If you aren't sure about which case to get your T series digital camera; trust the reviews as I did. This one is a real keeper!!!!!!!

Amazon bundled a battery and this case when I purchased the Sony DSC-HX5V. Problem is this camera just doesn't fit very well in this small case. The lens is slightly raised and the camera is just a little too long for this small case. The Velcros really has to stretch to fit and I fear that if clipped to a belt the velcro could come loose and the camera could fall out. I don't know if it was amazon or sony that suggested bundling these, but it is not a match.

I read a large number of customer evaluations before buying this for my Sony Cybershot DSC-W170 digital camera, which it fits perfectly. Regarding the little zipper pocket in front, it can hold either a spare memory chip or a spare Sony NP-BG1 battery (which fits that camera) but not both. The case is very trim and well-made, a bargain for the $7.50 I paid for it. The only gripe I have is that the attachment strap on the back of the case should be wider. The attachment strap has an interesting design however, which allows you of the choice of snapping it over your belt (with a substantial snap) or threading your belt through it, which would definitely be better for risky travel situations where somebody might try to grab the camera, case and all. If you wear it at your waist in front of you, in the latter situation you can unsnap it when you sit down in a bus or restaurant and it frees the camera from your belt without actually detaching it from your belt. The camera sits on your lap on a secure nylon webbing tether about 5" long. I would consider this a very secure arrangement on vacation in a country where thieves are present, and I have not seen this particular design on any other camera case anywhere. Regarding whether the case is "too tight" for a Cybershot-size camera, I observe that this is a "soft" case which will stretch and loosen up over time, so I wouldn't want it much larger. It has a very nice, soft, velvety interior that won't scratch the camera, whether or not you put a spare battery in the front zipper compartment. - Sony - Case - Sony Camera Case - Cybershot'

Cable Connectors - audio cable, ipod cable

I had ordered a 6' cable from another dealer at the same price as the pictured 2' cable. My only purpose was to connect an iPod to a portable speaker. My results were immediately wildly erratic. I was able to get a semi-clear audio signal only after extremely careful manipulation of the pin in the iPod jack, followed by periods of holding my breath so as not to disrupt the connection. My first inclination was to condemn the player, but then I remembered a recent experience with the HDMI cords connected to a Sony TV. The picture went on and off whenever someone walked into the room, causing my wife and me to condemn the TV set or the Time-Warner cable box. But then I exchanged the heavy-duty, thick HDMI cable for a thinner, lightweight HDMI cable--immediately, all problems with my television set were eliminated.

Exactly the same happened when I tossed the new 6' 3.5mm audio cable for the pictured 2' one. No fine-tuning required. Simply snap one end into the iPod, the other into the stereo speaker unit, and the communication between them was instant, complete, and secure.

I notice that different dealers sell this cable, which may or may not make a difference (for the record, my cable came from Cable Showcase/PC Part Store). The point is that, contrary to the assertions of some reviewers, all cables are not equal: it's not simply a matter of buying the cheapest version of the type of cable you require. Besides the cable itself, there's the more complicated matter of the pin with its stereo bands and the requirement of a precise and tight connection with the weight equally distributed on the entire surface of that tiny pin. The least bit of miscalculation on the part of the cable maker, and your pricey gadget could be rendered worthless, at least practically speaking. "3.5mm Stereo Male / 3.5mm Stereo Male, 2 ft"

I bought this to lengthen my MP3 player connection in my vehicle. It works flawlessly. Now i can take the MP3 to my lap or armrest and then pick it up and look at it closely when i am able to make changes and not have to look down. It is made well and has worked for six months no issues.

Now I could have gone with a more expensive, name-brand cable and rested easy in the knowledge that I had spent good money and purchased a quality cable that would connect my MP3 player to the Aux input of my car. But I chose this little $3 dollar cable. Why? Well who cares about a little interference, over the noise of an engine and the fan and the wind in a moving car? You probably couldn't tell the difference between the crackling of cable noise and the crackling of a standard car stereo system anyway. And this cable ships free in two days with Amazon Prime! I wasn't asking for all that much -- just a simple connection between point A and point B. So I bought this one.

I'll admit I was pretty excited when this package came in the mail. I love packages! Not only that, but I finally get to play my favorite driving music directly through my MP3 player (no more burning CDs). I tore open the envelope and the little plastic baggy and immediately went to test out my new cable.

The cable itself looks fine. It has a nice thick sheath made of good plastic (plenty of insulation) -- not like those earbuds you get for free with cheap MP3 players that start cutting in and out after a couple weeks. It looks much sturdier than your average stereo cable. Unfortunately this was not the case. Imagine my dismay when, after I turned on the music, I immediately found that the sound was cutting between the left and right channels, and crackled every time I moved the cable. I didn't expect wonders out of a $3 cable, but, like, aren't they at least supposed to work ONCE? Don't they test these things out of the factory or something?

Cutting open the cable, I found that while the inner wires and the jack were all perfectly good, they were held together with tiny little dabs of solder that came apart at the merest pull. You wouldn't expect that solder was the most expensive component of the cable, but given how little of it the manufacturer used, perhaps it was.

I feel like the manufacturer must have missed the point. At the only point in the assembly where the connection could go wrong (the soldering joint), he neglected to ensure that the connection was properly made. In a cable, whose only purpose is making this connection, this seems to me to be an egregious mistake.

I ended up cannibalizing the cable for the two jacks and soldering a cable myself. I went through several sets of cheap earbuds when I let the cable get to hot and melted the plastic (ruining the plug and forcing me to go find another more). But, when I was, done my home-made cable worked perfectly well -- as well as I would have expected this $3 cable to have worked. I'm happy I learned to solder out of this experience, but any other buyers of this product should beware. - Audio Cables - Audio Cable - Male To Male - Ipod Cable'

Kushies - reusable swim diaper, cloth diapers

Overall I like this diaper, although, it's certainly not perfect. First, either the setting on my computer is way off, or the picture doesn't accurately show the green color...it's much darker than the picture I see. Second, the diaper is very narrow through the crotch. I have a big boy...20 pounds at 6 months, so it may fit a little better on a smaller guy. I think the diaper is super cute...looks like a baby speedo! :P And the diaper has thus far been effective for us, but we've had no dirty swim diaper to deal with yet...hopefully it holds up!!! Overall, I like the dipe and would recommend to others. Finis Swim Diapers (Boys or Girls), Green, 4T

I purchased these swim diapers for my 1 year old to wear during swim classes. It was a requirement that they wear a nondisposable swim diaper over a disposable swim diaper. This was not the most attractive combination, and it looked like my boy was wearing a baby Speedo. However, he hasn't had a leak yet, and we are able to put a pair of swim trunks on over all of this, so mission accomplished! This product does its job perfectly.

This reusable swim diaper offers a great value. For less than the price of 2 packs of disposable swim diapers, this one will last all season- great for daily trips to the pool. Although my little one has never fully tested this products abilities, it has a good fit and seems as if it would be highly effective.

My son wears this swim diaper under his swim trunks. It's no bulky, no need to buy disposables. It will contain the poo for a while, but like any wet swim diaper it will only hold it so long. Make sure you change them if this happens!

Generously sized, nice price, all in all we are very happy with this swim diaper. - Pool Diaper - Cloth Diapers - Reusable Swim Diaper - Imse Vimse'

Urban Fantasy - fantasy, harry potter books

I, like many other people, used to dislike Harry Potter. I had never actually read the books, but for some reason looked down on Potter fans, thinking them to be a bit off color. I was certain that the whole thing was highly overrated and that it had been blown way out of proportion (like Twilight).

I could not have been more wrong. I finally read the books at the continuous urging of a friend in my junior year of high school, and they have become my favorite books of all time. I have already reread all seven books and stood in line for hours to see the midnight premiere of the newest movie.

When is the last time you have read a book and instantly wanted to pick it up and read it again? It doesn't happen often.

I can't even begin to tell you how incredible these books are. Not only are they very entertaining, but they are filled with the important themes of good vs. evil, the power of love, and the value of good choices. The characters in this book have become part of my life.

If you are at all hesitant to read this series because of its classification as a 'fantasy' series, I can assure you that you will not be disappointed. Yes, the book is about wizards and magic, but you would be shocked at how quickly the story pulls you in.

I can only ask you to PLEASE read the first book. If you like it, keep reading. If you don't, keep reading. The books get better as they progress, and I feel that the final chapters of the last book are some of the best reading I have ever done.

Also, do not judge these books from the movies. Everybody knows that the book is always better than the movie, and it's the same case here. The movies are great, but you need to read the books to fully appreciate what's happening and become a true Potter fan. Harry Potter Paperback Box Set (Books 1-7)

There's no question that the contents of the books inside this so-called chest are of the highest order. The entire Harry Potter epic was ingenious, brilliant, engaging, and encouraged hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of young readers to read when they might have rather played with their Xbox.

But this is about the packaging, and the packaging is just horrid.

I wasn't expecting something that was as heavy and substantial as, say, a pirate's chest, but I certainly was hoping that the box was more sturdy than a few flaps of cardboard rather cheaply assembled, and easily DISassembled.

I bought this so that I would have a full set of unread hardcovers with the original artwork, for the sake of posterity. In one of the worst marketing decisions I've seen regarding the Harry Potter series, the publishers thought it would be a good idea to include the extras (decals and whatnot - things I'm not interested in) shrink wrapped with the books. To get at them, you have to tear the shrink wrap, and thus compromise the books over time (a long period of time, and admittedly not much would be compromised).

Also, the clasp on the box was cheap plastic. Horrible. I almost broke it when undoing it. Is a metal clasp too much to ask for? Apparently it is.

I'm not completely dissatisfied with the purchase, because the books are phenomenal. I would have purchased a compilation of all seven books at some point, but I wish I had waited until they offered such a product without the sadly and unfortunately shoddy "chest". When I bought this product, I absolutely, 100% was buying the packaging, and the packaging was dismal.

I am a big Harry Potter fan and am no less than thrilled to pieces to finally own the complete set of books. (and in hardback no less) The books in this collector's set are the same books (content, artwork, cover and all) that have been sold before individually.

Yet I'm somewhat disappointed, if not slightly disillusioned that the "special collectors case" was a huge letdown. Given the obvious fact that Harry is huge worldwide, it would had behooved the publishers to do right by this commemorative set and make the case out of engineered wood (at the very least!) Instead they opted for the cheaper route and decided to make it out of... drum roll please.... CARDBOARD!

I dunno, maybe I was expecting to much?! (sigh...) 5 stars for Harry & minus one for the presentation...

I ordered this set to complement my hardcovers. I bought and read them all with great anticipation as each was released, but figured having the entire set in paperback would make future readings less cumbersome and more portable for one who is on the go a lot. Plus the price is good. Also, there is nothing wrong with the physical quality of the set I received. I inspected each book and the case closely after reading the first review. All look good!

These are great books, and definitely worth having for the collector. This is not a review of the books, but a review of the price. You are getting ripped off if you pay over $200 for these books. You can buy this exact set on amazon.co.uk which is the british version of amazon for 120 pounds plus shipping (which at the exchange rate today is equal to $176 plus shipping). So please look at the amazon.co.uk website like i did and save yourself a whole lot of money. Buyer Beware of sellers like this trying to con you into thinking they are giving you a deal.

First off let me start by saying DO NOT buy from these sellers, they are con artists trying to make a quick buck. You can buy this same set from Amazon.co.uk and even with expedited shipping it is less than half of this price.

Now on to the books themselves; They are extremely beautiful books. Cloth bound with gilt edges and ribbon bookmarks. The books seem very sturdy and have nice pages, they aren't as thick as the pages on the american editions, but are not by any means cheap.

The only real differences between these editions and the american editions are the covers and just a few words that are slightly changed here and there, also these editions do not have chapter art work.

I would recommend these books to any die hard Harry potter fans and collectors, not everyone will appreciate them. Overall I love them and am very glad that I purchased them 5 star value for sure!! - Boxed Set - Jk Rowling - Fantasy - Harry Potter Books'

Brake Pads

Amazon shipped the product very quickly, package arrived in great conditions.

These are for my 2007 Honda Accord front disc brakes, replacing a set of Duralast pads from Autozone. (BTW, Duralast pads are very very disappointing, squeal a lot, leave a heavy black dust on my wheels, NEVER buy Duralast pads!)

So far very satisfied with the Akebono pads. Very quiet, no to no dust, leaving my alloy wheel shiny and clean. Stopping power is great, no fading, I even want to say its stopping power is a little bit better than the original Honda pads. Really like them, would definitely use them for my other car as well. Akebono ACT914 ProACT Ultra-Premium Ceramic Brake Pad Set

I used to have nothing but problems with my brake jobs at the local garages on my Honda Odyssey, going thru one set of pads for every 8000 to 10000 miles. The pads I got used to cut into my rotor and generate so mcuh heat that the rotor will warp causing squeaky noise and vibration. I decided to get my own pads and rotors. My research indicated that the Akebono pads are gentle to the rotor, and yet have much better heat resistance and braking power than most other brands. So I got a new set of Beck and Arnley rotors and Akebono brakes. After 60,000 miles, there is still no problems. This got me worry, so I checked the pads and found that they still have over 75% left ( I do a lot of freeway driving). And after 120,000 miles, I checked again, they still have 50% left. This is incredible. Best yet, I have no problems with noise and vibrations any more.

I purchased a set of Akebono ACT914 pads for the front brakes on my CR-V. This brand was recommended by a co-worker who has used them for several years on Hondas. Wow! They are so much better made than what you get from the auto parts store and even Honda. They went on easy and work really well. Very smooth, noise free, sure stops. It will be interesting to see how long they last. Another good thing is no mess on the wheels from dust.

I'm sure that these break pads are amazing. They look like a great product. Too bad amazons 'match to you car,' service said they'd work with my car, when they don't. Make sure to research elsewhere to make sure they work with your car before buying them here. They do not work with a Honda Accord '95.

Bought these for my Honda Accord. Be careful what model you buy because Amazon's sizing chart is kind of messed up. I've had several issues with matching the right component to my car. Anyway, I'm a normal driver and wanted some aftermarket pads since the Honda pads tend to cause my rotors to warp. I've had these Akebono's for 2 months and they definitely are smoother when braking and the dust on my wheels are significantly less. I'm using these with some brembo rotors and can't complain. Stopping power is as good if not better than the OEM's. I'd recommend.

I've just received two sets of brake pads. Akebono ACT573 and ACT 914 ProACT. Before I placed the order, it was unclear from the descriptions of each of the products whether a set of pads comes with a pair or with two pairs of pads. Just so I wouldn't have to order it twice I ordered two sets of each. After I have received everything and opened the packages I saw that each set came with two pairs of pads - that is 4 pads in one set. I plan to return the extra sets.

I have not installed the pads so have no review as to the quality - will post it once installed and driven for a couple of hundred miles.

Also - the shipping was much faster than the anticipated timeline by Amazon.'

Ebook Reader - case, javo

I got a nook as an anniversary gift from my husband, but he wanted me to pick out my own case. I needed one FAST, since in our household we are not exactly known for being graceful. I had actually already ordered a case from another retailer when I came upon this one. I liked the looks of this case better and it was cheaper! I ended up cancelling the order for the other case and buying this one. I was uncertain about the flip style case but the book style was not available in the tweed at the time. Turns out that the stand totally sold me on the flip case! I also much prefer the way the JAVOedge cases enclose the nook over most other cases that just have tiny straps to hold the nook in at the corners. My nook seems much more secure and protected in this case. I carry a lot of stuff in my bag, and I feel perfectly comfortable throwing this in with everything else. I now take my nook everywhere! JAVOedge Tweed Flip Style Case for the Barnes & Noble Nook - First Generation

I do a great deal of research before buying anything, and before buying a cover for the Nook, that research led me to this flip cover. It is the best cover I could have picked. The fact that it flips instead of opening like a book allows the reader to hold the nook with one hand, which is ideal for any standing, sitting or laying position. The case itself feels great to the touch, the inside feeling just like leather and looking classy, protecting all edges of the nook except for the backwards/forwards buttons.

I love the "professorial" look of the tweed, and the stand that is buttoned to the back just adds to the value. The Barnes and Noble version of the flip case doesn't have that, nor does it have the pocket inside the cover as this one does.

I've already opened and closed this cover hundreds of times and still the magnets work great and there doesn't seem to be any difference in the flexibility.

This is a great cover all-around and I would recommend it to all Nook users!

I just received my Nook over the weekend as an early birthday present and had purchased this Nook cover for it. It is a VERY tight fit putting the Nook in that I know the Nook will never fall out of it. The little kick stand is very neat and sturdy and buttons into the case when not in use so there's no "flailing" of the kickstand. The kickstand opens up at most to the distance shown in the Amazon item picture because there is a ribbon that is sewn from the kickstand to the back of the case. It feels very comfortable reading with the case opened up. I love how there is a large pocket and a ID pocket on this case just like in the book style version of this Tweed case just in case I want to store papers inside. Only the outside is Tweed material with some faux leather, while the inside is made of faux leather and a soft foam material. It is a beautiful and gender neutral alternative to the flower design JAVOedge cases that are found on Amazon which I felt were a little too girly for me. Love it!

The JAVOedge flip style Nook case meets all of the essential criteria for an ereader cover. First, let me comment on the style. Sure there might be more flashy designs out there, or designer-branded products from B & N but this understated cover is stylish and different with the tweed and leather combination.

Second, protection. There are probably cases that will protect your nook better than this, but you would have to go to one of those all-over silicone-encased monstrosities. The JAVOedge is very well padded and the fit is very snug. I put my nook in, turned it upside down and shook it and the nook stayed securly in place. The sides and bottom corners of the nook are exposed a bit, and I could see a possibility of getting the occasional nick on the corner of the nook. But, on the plus side, this more open design allows for easy access to the charger port.

Third, there is a question of craftsmanship and durability. The stitching is superb. My only concern is how well the tweed outer cover will hold up verses a more conventional leather cover. But' I only received it today so I can't speculate yet on that.

Finally, let me describe the features of this particular cover. The flip design seems to me to be superior to a more conventional book design because it is easy to keep the flap secure when reading. I have never tried a book design though. The magnets in the bottom part of the cover are strong and provide the perfect balance between staying closed and opening easily. On the inside of the top flap there is a clear window for a business card or id and a small flap pcoket that could hold a few notecards or folded papers. The kickstand on the back of the JAVOedge is probably the most unique feature of this cover. I am an academic, and there is the possibility that I would take notes on some of my reading. The stand would allow me to prop my nook up next to my computer and take notes into a word processing program. Even tonight, as I ate my dinner while reading. I found it helpful to pull out the stand and easily turn the "page" on the nook one handed as I ate.

My remarks here should be taken within the particular context in which I find myself. I have only had this cover for a day and I have never used any other covers (although i did inspect the covers at the local BN store). But my over all impression is a very solidly-built, protective and stylish nook cover. I am very satisfied. - Javo - E-reader - Case - Non-leather'

Computer Backup - portable hard drive, computer backup

It was time to create fresh backup of my laptop, so I got this blue, 500GB WD drive because it was one of the cheapest and I know the manufacturer (used their products before).

The drive is definitely the smallest 2.5 inch portable drive I have ever seen personally. It was the first USB 3.0 device I have purchased, so discovering new, wider USB 3.0 connector on the drive side was a surprise to me. Please note that that the larger plug on the cable (the one you insert into the computer) is also USB 3.0, but fortunately it fits into any USB socket. If your computer does not have USB 3.0 hardware, you can use regular 'micro-USB' cable to connect: just plug it into the wider of the two sections of the socket in the drive.

First backup with the drive was successful, but lengthy as usual. I'm going to buy USB 3.0 express card for my laptop to speed up the process in the future.

One note about the software that comes with the drive - it is horrible! While my hardware experience with WD drives was OK in the past, their software was always of questionable quality. I decided to give it another try after 3 year break, but I had to uninstall and undo some damage manually pretty quickly. I have requested not to install backup part of the software (I'm using operating system facilities to backup), but the software installed 'shadow copy' and some other resident software on my machine anyway. Later on the software suggested firmware update, but could not detect the drive during update!. The worst offense was the change of drive letters on my machine: I have main hard drive with two partitions, DVD drive and flash drive - WD software stole D: letter drive from my DVD drive and turned it into G: drive. Of course uninstalling the software did not return the correct drive order, so I had to do it myself. Conclusion: DO NOT INSTALL THE SOFTWARE THAT COMES WITH THE DRIVE - only the driver that is required on Windows to avoid pop ups when the drive is connected. Western Digital My Passport Essential 500 GB USB 3.0/2.0 Portable External Hard Drive (Midnight Black)

This thing ships with pre-installed backup software, including some functionality called "VCD". Problem is, I didn't want any of this stuff because I'm not interested in using the drive for backup/restore purposes. I just wanted a hard drive external to my computer with lots of capacity for holding music, photos, and video.

Unfortunately, the way WD has configured this drive, it's almost impossible to use it the way I want to use it. It shows up in "My Computer" on my Windows 7 machine as a CD drive with software that can be run, and zero storage capacity. It does NOT show up as one of the hard disks. Therefore, basic "disk drive" tasks such as saving files to it are proving impossible.

So far, I have spent 2 hours and several visits to WD's web site trying to figure out how to get rid of the unwanted backup software and pre-configured rubbish, so that I can just put my media files on the stupid thing. I've repeatedly rebooted my system, unplugged and reconnected the drive, etc., and still don't have a simple working hard disk. As of this moment, it's still not working properly for me.

I have used external hard drives before and had success with both the bundled backup software that comes with some drives and other software that I have acquired on my own, such as SyncToy. However, what comes with this Passport is below terrible, even to the point that I question its legitimacy.

First of all, this software cannot be removed from the drive it came on. Secondly, it does not ask you what files you want to back up; instead, it automatically finds what most people would want to back up (music, photos, the like) and immediately begins copying it. Third, the only way to stop this once it has begun is to unplug the drive from your machine. I could not find a way to get at these files on the drive to remove them; for this reason I will not be able to return it to the store since whoever buys this particular drive next will have some of my files. My computer also ran with difficulty after plugging in this drive (brand new Toshiba Portege), so I even ran some malware scans. Those turned up negative, so at least those fears were suppressed.

I strongly recommend buying anything else. - Portable - Western Digital - Computer Backup - Portable Hard Drive'

Throw Blanket

This blanket is made from wool fibers which are stamped into a blanket form, not woven. This makes the blanket much less durable.

It may be suitable for indoor use on a couch or as a bed blanket. But, I used it camping outdoors and it began to pull apart after just a few days. 9084 OLIVE DRAB U.S. 70% VIRGIN WOOL BLANKET

Mahalo !

I love this blanket! It is included in my "Bug out Bag" and provides a very warm vital part of my system. I have always been a fan of carrying a wool blanket on any hiking or camping adventure. I recommend this blanket to anyone as a great addition to your endeavors. Good price and you can't go wrong with this purchase.

I got one as a gift love it, best cold weather blanket I've used and I live in Alaska.

it does appear to be an indoor blanket not for rough use.

good quality smelled ok and not especially itchy.

this is also a good price go for it.

So far so good, I washed my blanket in the gentle cycle and dried on low then switched to air. I had minimual shedding, held up great. So far not really as ichy as I expected unless it hits your face! All I could think of was cottonwood trees! Anyway- so far pretty warm for me used in house on couch and fall blanket on bed. Currently really happy with product, must have gotten a good one! Will update after awhile as to wear. I would recommend as a throw or emergency blanket. Also don't really care if its original army, for me, just the logo was a cool added bonus! For the $$ I paid it works for me!'

Lg Vortex Screen Protectors - cell phone case, screen protectors

The item works for the most part. The rubberized halves come together around the phone and protect the edges from impact. However it does add a quite a bit of thickness to an otherwise slim phone.

The built in support stand is adjustable for three positions but the hinge prevents the belt clip from locking around your belt. Sitting down and then getting up can cause entire holder (and your phone) to fall from your belt.

The detachable clip is almost too secure. You need to press very firmly to release it from the rest of the holder. To lock it back in, you almost need two hands; one to hold your belt while you press the locking stud down into the clip with your other hand. Body Glove 9166701 LG Vortex Glove Snap-On Case with Belt Clip - 1 Pack - Retail Packaging - Black

the cover on the phone is very good ,clips together very secure and access to all buttons is there ,but the speaker on the lg vortex is on the back of the phone and the back of the phone is the side that clips into the holster so it is very hard to hear the phone ring and this leaves the face of the phone susceptible to scratchs

- the holster clip itself is very hard to release and re install the phone back into - i spoke w/ someone who has the same model cluip but different phone - he has same issue and it has not gotten any better with use

- overall at this price ($12 here on amazon) is not bad for a cover but would not buy this as a primary way to carry my phone

Good product. Thick rubberized outer coating, very durable. I don't use the attachable clip because it makes the phone too bulky, but otherwise, I like this product.

My job is very physically demanding, but with this case and a screen protector, I don't worry about my phone getting bumped around in my pocket. - Screen Protectors - Covers - Cell Phone Case - Lg'

Home Network - gigabit switch, gigabit

I just purchased this switch for a home network just hoping to solve some router issues. I ordered it from work so I could not recall if my 3 year old Dells would do Gigabit or not.

Sure enough they did and this thing just works like a champ and no fan noise like some competetive brands. The transfer speeds are exceptional.

The manual completely left out the meaning of the LED colors. A quick web search answered the question.

Green - 1000

Yellow - 10/100 NETGEAR GS605NA Giga Switch 5Port

I bought one of these units several months ago because I was constantly moving 500MB to 6GB MPG files between several of my regular computers and my DVRs and moving files this large takes quite a while at 100Mb. I hoped Gb speeds would help a lot. I did some timing and I was able to obtain about 3x shorter transfer times on my local LAN with everything connected to the Gb switch. My problem was that my house was already wired with CAT 5 cable and Gb ethernet really requires CAT 5e cable to get consistent speed. With my CAT 5 cabling, the speed was very intermittent--one time much faster and not the next.

I know this review should be about this product itself and so I'll say it's a fine product and I'll probably buy another one when I finally decide to re-wire my house. But inexpensive unmanaged switches like this are commodity products and this one is not a whole lot different than any other so I just buy whatever is cheapest.

Just make sure you have CAT 5e or CAT 6 cabling before going to Gigabit and expecting Gigabit speed.

I've got two of these on my home network, serving a couple of Gigabit Ethernet based Macs, a TiVO and a host of audio and video gear and they've always performed perfectly. Great design, great value and excellent performance.

In a time where the choice of cheap 5-port, desktop, GigE switches is plentiful, this one stands out for one simple reason: exterior design. It looks good enough to show off anywhere, and the vertical stand is a great desk-space-saver, something that becomes handier every day.

The only case where you wouln't buy this model would be if you need Jumbo Frame support -- but that's something 99% of people with a SOHO setup can't even use (because your standard router for Internet access won-t support it...). So why bother?

Definitely my favorite in this price range and feature set. Highly recommended.

Great product. I have it uplinked to my Verizon Westell Versalink DSL Modem so I can have my 2 gigabit servers communicate at 1000mbps vs 100 mbps. The GS605 has not degraded my performance at all !!!!!!

Fantastic switch. Only negative is that I should have gotten the 8 port switch instead. Oh well !!! I'll wait for the next good deal.

I am able to transfer 350 megs of backup files over the network in seconds. The speed of gigabit is more than twice the speed of USB 2.0 (480 megabits.) It is an easy no-brainer install. Just plug in the switch, connect the cables and zoom. The whole process of installing the switch takes just about 30 seconds. I have converted two networks over to gigabit without a hitch or problem. You will also need to purchase the gigabit network card GA311 (about $25) for each computer. Installing the cards was easy and quick as well. It would be nice to have a gigabit router but the switch is awesome.

I've had mine for 6 months. No problems. For this price, don't expect to get supports for Jumbo frame rates. My bandwidth increased from approx. 25 Mbps (with a linksys 100 Mbps switch) to approx 250 Mbps (with this switch). I'm very happy with a 5X speed increase. I'm using cat 6 cable.

I have the Apple Airport Extreme Gigabit Router and although it is a great router it only has three gigabit ports. The Netgear 5 port gigabit switch solved the problem for me and now all five devices in my home office are happily communicating with this switch added. As with Apple products, "it just works." Highly recommended. - Switch - Netgear - Gigabit - Gigabit Switch'

Headphone Cable - extension cable, stereo extension

This cable listed on Amazon is the Belkin F8V204-06-M 6-foot stereo extension cable with 3.5mm plug and jack. Belkin cables are generally high quality, have a warranty, and come in a Belkin blister pack with a label and UPC code. Many lower-quality audio cables have cheap conductor wires and weak wire connections at the terminals. This reduces the audio quality. And if you handle a cheap cable a lot, as when using it with a portable device, one or both channels will start cutting out after a while.

However, the Amazon Marketplace merchant who was selling this cable for the lowest price as of February 2011 was NOT shipping the listed Belkin cable. (This obviously may change if this seller drops the listing page.) This seller shipped me a lower-quality cable, without any packaging, which has no warranty. I have notified Amazon of this practice.

Anyone can now buy huge quantities of very inexpensive, but poor-quality electronic cables of all types from various Asian wholesalers. They come unpackaged in big cardboard boxes. So if an Amazon Marketplace seller is listing a much lower total price (including shipping) than Amazon for a brand-name product, beware that it may not be brand-name overstock on sale, but rather a lower-quality, different-brand product or even a no-name generic product. I have found this to be true multiple times and reported it to Amazon. Belkin 6ft Mini Stereo Extension 3.5mm Stereo Plug M/f

This cord does what it's suppose to do, extend your tiny cords to a whopping 6ft. I bought it for one of my portable speakers from altec that comes with a integrated 6 inch cord. It was quite short for what i'm needing it for so i decided to give this a shot. It works flawlessly after some time of testing. I highly recommend!!

I have read reviews on similar products and they told of terrible sound quality and the extension's jack being to big or to small, but I haven't encountered either problem with this product. This product does what it is supposed to do with very little to no sound quality loss.

I like to listen to movies with headphones so that I can hear everything without cranking up the volume. But I wear glasses when I watch a movie and find regular headphones uncomfortable with glasses on. Using this cable I am able to extend the cord of my ear buds to just the right length for movie watching/listening.

I purchased this originally to use for a headphone extender but found with my setup it would work better as a mic extension which it worked perfectly for. Everyone I talk to says they can hear me perfectly fine even tho I'm a mumbler. Also used has a headphone extender which seemed to work fine.

Kind of scared me at first, the sound was cutting in and out. I've now had this over 3 months and it works like a charm. I've read some bad reviews about some of belkin's ipod accessories, so I was somewhat wary. But it came through alright. - Stereo Extension - Extension Cable - Extension - Audio'

Retractable Cable - aux cable, retractable cable

I ordered this cable about a month ago and have been using it in my car everyday. The cable functions perfectly. The only thing that I can critique is the cheap retractable portion. The second time I extended it out halfway, it got tangled and refuses to retract completely. This is not a serious issue for me though because it extended to a sufficient length that I can leave it at and still use it without any complication.

I suggest buying this cable if you are planning on not pulling it out and retracting it very often or don't mind it breaking and using it as a non-retractable cable. 3.5MM JACK CAR AUDIO AUX AUXILIARY CABLE FOR IPOD TOUCH

I ordered this product in '09 from EForCity and enjoyed it for the 2 years that followed. Recently, I was with a friend, who purchased a new car and needed a male-to-male 3.5mm audio connector to connect his MP3 player to his new ride. He was planning on going to BestBuy to spend $19.99 on one, that did not extend or retract. I quickly stopped him and insisted that he take mine, it would only cost me less than $3 to replace, it would be my pleasure. Never turn down a chance to give someone something they will use daily.

So we went through with it, he is now enjoying my old cable, I went home and pulled up my old order pages and placed a new order for the same product.

HOWEVER, through a lack of attention, I bought the "same" product from a different seller, importer520. The product I received is nearly identical aesthetically, but it terms of value, this new cable is garbage to me. It does not hold or lock at any expendable distance. I have written them requesting reimbursement.

QUICK SUMMERY:

This is a useful product sold by too many different sellers. The seller "EForCity" sells good quality cables that work as advertised. I have purchased their products in different departments before. My one experience with "Importer520" would warn me against them for the future.

When I first used to device, I had mixed feelings about it. It has a somewhat short reach, but it is bare-able. I will say that the cord retraction worked great though.

*** The BIGGEST problem with this device is that the casing in which the cord and spring was enclosed in was not glued or sealed together in any way. Instead it is sort of snapped in place by 2 male/female plastic pins on each side. So if u have any sort of pressure along one side of the plastic encasing, it will pop them apart and the spring will come undone (as mine did after 2 DAYS of mild use) and it is VERY difficult to reassemble it. ***

So in my opinion, overall the product has the potential to be good, great even. But it is the casing that failed to secure the spring and wire inside that is its downfall.

My advice to you if you purchase this item is to either wrap tape around the plastic or to apply glue to the creases in the plastic before it becomes undone as mine did.

It took me about 5 months to break it. I guess it is as much as you can expect for something that cost me less than 5 bucks. I would buy it again.

Currently, I am trying a non-retractable cable. It is a little thicker. I would like to see one of these with a little thicker cable. I was happy with it.

for the price of this cable $1.74 with free shipping, i can not ask for mutch more. Yes it is very thin, yes the coil that winds the cord probably will break. No i dont expect it to last for years, but considering that it is 5 times chepaer than the cheapest one at walmart, im pretty sure it is worth its money. It looks just like the picture, and if i get 6 months to a year out of this cord, i will be happy, and its not really the end of the world it the recoil part breaks. just remeber you get what you pay for and when its cheap expect it to break, and it it does not then be even happier!

GREAT PRODUCT ANS U CANT BET GETTING IT FOR $1.40 MY MOM BROUGHTTHE SAME THING IN RADOSHACK FOR $10, ONLY THING IS THE STRING GETS STUCK SUMTIMES N ITS A PAIN IN THE BUM TO FIX. OTHER WISE GREAT GREAT PRODUCT.

To be honest, you get what you pay for. I found that out of the box it just barely functioned, but audio would occasionally cut out of crackle. I used it on and off for 2-3 months, before it ceased functioning entirely. I don't recommend buying it, but its hard to complain about the sound quality of a $1 audio cable. In short, spend a few extra bucks and get one that will actually sound good, and last more than a few months.

I was very hesitant to buy an auxiliary cord that was retractable, because I have herd stories of them not working very well. The cord becomes loose and does not retract back in. SO far they have worked really well and I am very happy with the purchase.

The price was the selling point and it is working well.

If your looking for a cheap auxiliary cord that does not take up a lot of space, you can't go wrong. - Ipod Cable - Retractable Cable - Aux Cable - Auxiliary Cord'

Handheld Steam Cleaner - bathroom cleaner, electric steam cleaner

I've had good luck with Bissell products, so, given conflicting reviews for other devices an insufficient reviews for the Steam Shot, I purchased one.

OK--it's true. Infomercials for such products are deceptive. Using chemical cleaners is a great deal faster and "easier" than this. Tortoise vs. the hare: This trudges very slowly compared to traditional cleaning. It requires patience.

My concerns with chemical cleaners include the residues left over that attract dirt and dust again, the unpleasantness of using and then worrying about chemicals, and, the concerns about using them near foodstuffs, utensils, prep and cooking surfaces, and, pots and pans.

The advantage of the Steam Shot (and, likely other similar "electric kettle" hand held colleague devices) is, that once a surface or item is clean, it really "is" clean. I don't have any fear or qualms even about using this on kitchen utensils, bread makers, microwaves, and, oven windows. It's also very good at cleaning kitchen cabinet fronts and vertical surfaces such as the outside of the dishwasher, trash compactor, and the fridge. One thing this is extraordinary at is getting at dirt between a metal (or porcelain) surface (say, a sink or stove) and counter tops (Formica, etc.). It's amazing at "rooting" out such dirt! This is also true of the "line" between back splashes and counter tops. I think that "touch-up" cleaning later on will be faster and easier....

Candle wax on the brick of the hearth? (Or a wall?--I'll need now to patch-paint!) The wax is tedious to remove in any case, yet, this is the best solution I've found--the unit definitely will melt wax so that it's easier to remove--absolutely!

As for waiting on the steam, I'm simply busy with scrubbing with a cloth or noting where to clean next--this is not a big problem for me; it seems that, as time goes on, heating up again is pretty fast. I've heard the item's boiling water while heating up. Although it's not always so hot, the steam can become really hot--I certainly believe it becomes hot enough to kill pathogens! It may certainly burn fingers, also, so precautions are smart. Despite what other reviewers think, my Steam Shot becomes very hot: It works! I'm not absolutely certain, but the "kettle" inside appears to be comprised of metal. The plastic of the unit and of the accessories appears to be high quality, also.

(When finished with the Steam Shot--allow it to cool sufficiently, then, slowly open the knob until it's removed (steam may slowly vent while opening). Then, before dumping the water, turn the unit slowly on its side over your sink and dump the water out--away from you--hopefully, the water won't "jet" out into your sink really quickly or explosively. (If so, this indicates that the water still is super-heated and dangerous (after all, it was both heated and pressurized): You don't want it ever to "jet" out at you or anyone else. Let the unit cool sufficiently longer next time!)

Conclusion:

This is nifty, and I enjoy cleaning with it. For heavy cleaning, this requires patience, but, I believe patience is rewarded and saves money! For certain unique household cleaning needs, this fits the bill really well! I haven't tried it, but, a dirty bar-b-q grate likely is too heavy a cleaning task for this. That always has been a pain.... Bissell Steam Shot Hard-Surface Cleaner, 39N7A

I just used mine for the first time (bought it elsewhere). I used it to clean the stained grout on the kitchen floor. The dog had gotten into the trash several times, so the grout was stained dark brown from coffee grinds. This little steamer did a good job of removing most of the stain. Looking at two sections - steamed and unsteamed - there is an incredible difference, enough so that my floor will not be embarrassing when I am finished.

I used the grout attachment at first, but then switched to the round brush attachment because it is stiffer. Both did a good job, the round brush a little more so. You get three different colored brushes for different uses, for instance, if you want to keep one for the floor and use another on the kitchen counter or in the bathroom. I will be looking to buy more of these brushes, as I can see that they will not last indefinitely, but nothing does!

I timed my cleaning. Each session lasted about 20 minutes before I needed to refill. I unplugged first, waited about 10 seconds, and then slowly unscrewed the cap from the reservoir. There was a little hiss but no sputtering. In other words, waiting just a few seconds made it safe to open. While I refilled the measuring cup that comes with it, the unit cooled down enough that I was able to refill immediately. Put the cap back on, plug it in, wait about a minute or two, and I was good to go again for about another 20 minutes of steam. The key to the refilling process is to unplug first so you don't get burned.

I used the window attachment to clean dog drool (easily!) off the kitchen sliding doors. There are other attachments that I haven't tried yet, but I'm sure I'll find uses for them. The cord is extra long and heavy duty. This is a handy little cleaner that does have its limitations because of its size. However, the size it an advantage if you just want to clean up something easily and effectively. I bought it because I didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a big steamer. I wanted to test try something smaller to see if steam cleaning stands up to its good reputation. It does! - Electric Steam Cleaner - Portable Steamer - Kitchen Cleaner - Bathroom Cleaner'
