Home Office - black, ink

My first PG 40 lasted only 2 months, disappointing as cartridge cost was one of deciding factors in buying my Canon Pixma MP 170. $20 (Staples) was low compared to previous printer cartridge but not for two month usage. With next cartridge, I used "fast" print option and continued to use for 1-2 months after "low ink" message appeared, this one lasted 5-6 months, which is o.k. for cost. I then had one refilled at Cartridge World and it lasted only 45 days, tho I was doing somewhat more printing during that time period. Use "fast/draft" option, and ignore low print message,--- just print till it's out of ink ----and it will last much longer. I will probably buy from Amazon as cost is lower (providing you order $25 and get free S & H) and this is hard to find in my area. Canon PG-40 Black Ink Cartridge

I have used Canon printers for years. I recommend them to people for their low per-page costs...

Those that use THIS cartridge though, are an exception. This cartridge has an in-cartridge ink counter that tells me I'm out of ink way before I actually do run out of ink. Additionally, the counter cannot be reset, so there is no refill market on these forcing you to buy retail.

New cartridge had been received on time and well packed.

Printouts are in good quality.

1 Concern: overpriced.

I must add another concern: not much ink in it. Cratridge is emptied after 2 months of light usage.

A very good in supply is obtained at all times without leakage of ink or smudging of the paper or clogging of the printer. The reason it is not rated 5 stars is that the ink supply is utilized too rapidly and the expensive cartriges have to replaced too frequently.

Canon has made it almost impossible to use recycled ink cartridges. They are not alone. There should be a more economical and environmentally friendly alternative available for purchasing ink - not just the limited options imposed by a monopoly held by the manufacturer. Just think if you buy a car and could then only buy gasoline from the car manufacturer!

But...good lord the cartridges lasted maybe 100 pages tops before it gave out. May still be cheaper than owning a laser printer though. Ink dries very quickly and no smudges. Just wish they could put some more ink in it.

I can spend $100 on a new cartridge for my NEC laser printer, and get 2 years use out of it. OR, I can spend $25 on THIS cartridge for my Canon printer, and get two WEEKS out of it. Do the math. Canon ought to be ashamed of offering a product with so little actual output per dollar. Generally I LIKE Canon products a lot (e.g. their cameras) and so I am shocked at the short life of this cartridge.

I bought an MP470 printer on 9/4/08. I put in a full black ink cartridge (PG-40)and made no more than 30-35 copies on regular paper. It shows that it needs to be replaced. I called Canon and was told that the average number of pages would be 355 for one PG-40 cartridge. I thought the cartridge might be defective but the tech support person tells me that it would show an "error" on the printer if that was the case.

I will continue to use the cartridge until it totally runs out of ink but I am very unhappy with the number of pages I was able to print. - Printer - Canon - Black - Ink'

Shower Head Filters - shower head filters, health

I recently moved into a home that has a well & I instantly started noticing a major difference (for the worse) with my hair. I have naturally curly, fine hair that started getting very dry & thinning, by the handful. Not to mention my highlights were turning an ugly, gritty orange color. After doing MAJOR research online, I found this shower filter & decided to buy it after reading all the positive reviews. I'm not one who usually takes the time to write reviews (although I should b/c I rely on everyone else's when I purchase products)...but, this filter is AMAZING...just like many reviewers already mentioned. It really does work & I'm sooo thankful I found it. It's only been about 5 days since I installed it but my hair is already dramatically better. The curls have come back & I'm not losing a ton of hair when I shower, or after. I can't rave enough about it....I will definitely be purchasing replacement filters because I won't be living without this shower system anymore! Its a must have!!! Esp if you are on well water that has iron & is hard water... Jonathan Product Beauty Water Shower Purification System

I purchased this product after my other shower filter system converted their filter media to KDF 55 (copper-zinc chlorine oxidation method). I developed rashes on my scalp, neck, back and shoulders and my eyelids swelled up. I am normally very healthy and not on any medications. I went to my dermatologist, allergist, eye doctor and finally internist trying to determine the cause. I was tested for 200 known allergens, but the tests were negative for anything that would be causing my symptoms. My doctor agreed that I should have extensive blood work done to rule out any systemic disease. Everything came back (luckily) that I was completely healthy. The rash was classified at atopic dermatitis. It seems like it would be simple to figure this out, but at first I didn't know that the filter media had been changed from pure carbon. When I did research and found out, I thought I just needed to add the carbon component to clear up my skin, so I tried this system because it has both and also I couldn't find a pure carbon system. I finally found another shower filter that is carbon only and my symptoms have disappeared.I may be allergic to copper that is leached into the water from this kind of filter media. I am amazed that most of the filtration systems I have looked into contain this new filter media KDF 55 which contains copper and zinc. It is supposedly really good at eliminating chlorine, but if you are sensitive to copper it is a major problem. Please be aware.

I did pretty extensive research in regards to what shower head filter would work best with well water. I had read other reviews and some stated the Jonathan product was the exact same as another well known product with a different label. My research proved that to be untrue. I actually called the other products rep and was told that due to the similarities that the confusion did happen, but that the Jonathan actually removed more minerals out of the water than their product did. Internally there are differences. The Jonathan is a bit more expensive and so are the replacement filters, but my problem was not Chlorine (city water) but well water, so it was worth it to spend a bit more. The brasiness is leaving my hair and I would suggest this to anyone dealing with well water who is having an issue.

I live in DC where we have hard water (due to calcium and magnesium). I tried the Sprite shower filter which works great to remove chlorine from the water but it does nothing to balance the PH level which is the root of the hard water problem. My hair was sticky, dried out, dull, my hair color was probably 2 shades darker because of the mineral deposits. It had gotten to the point where I was washing my hair with bottled water because tap water was was destroying my hair.

I started using the Jonathan system about a week ago and my hair felt dramatically better the very first time I took the shower with the filter installed. My hair is now soft, smooth, shiny, and bright. And my skin feels amazing too - it's not dried out and red.

This shower filter lives up to its promise and gives you healthy, soft, manageable hair. If you color your hair - as I do - it's worth every penny because what's the point is paying all of that money for a certain hair color only to have it ruined by hard water? I love this shower filter!

I have asthma, all my life since birth. My doctor 3 years ago, was prescribing me three different types of asthma meds, today, I haven't used an inhaler for over 3 years. WhenI would take showers, on ocasions, I would weeze from all of the chlorine in the water, iturns to vapor, in the shower, not to mention all the 200+ other chemicals put in the water. But with this shower filter, I was impressed how good of a job they do, I smell no chlorine, only fresh water. Thanks Jonathan Products, your well appeciated by me. Also, I drink distilled water, to increase the amount of oxygen in the body, ridding toxins easier. I recommend it for anyone whom suffers from asthma. And everyone else, they shouldn't put all those "unnessessary" chemicals in our water. Chlorine is a known cancer causing agent. Also, Fluoride acummulates in the body, causing brain damage, destroying the thyroid gland, destroying your kidneys, and overall, your immune system. And all of us taxpayers, pay for this stuff to be put in there. Shipped from China, most of it. They spnd millions of our tax money, to poison us? How mean.

I have had this product for 6 months now and can't imagine how I showered without it. I have well water in my home and always felt dirty when I got out of the shower. Like a film on my skin, plus my hair would be difficult to dry and style. Since installing the filter my long hair takes 10 minutes to dry and my styling takes better and lasts longer. My skin feels clean and more supple. I color my hair and the color lasts longer and looks great. Before, the color would start to turn and I would need to go back to the salon more often. I want to note that I have a reverse osmosis plus charcoal whole house filter, which I installed when I built my home. This filter does such a better job. Also I have a glass enclosure in my shower that would get spots and film from all the metals and impurities in my water. Now it takes much longer for that to develop so I have to clean the shower less frequently. What an added bonus!!! My only gripe? $50 for replacement cartridges. OUCH! But it is really worth it for all the benefits. - Health - Shower Filter - Shower Head Filters - Showerhead'

Screen Protectors - screen protectors, case

As an iTouch owner, I had used a clear screen protector with generally good results, although there were a very few bubbles that weren't really a distraction once the device was in use.

I had pre-ordered an iPad on the first day that they became available to order and knew that with the much larger screen, I would definitely need a screen protector.

My iPad arrived today (April 3rd) and I immediately attempted to install one of the three "Premium Crystal Clear Screen Protectors" as son as I removed the iPad from its box.

The method of installation was basically the same as for the iTouch screen protector that I had previously used. First you peel off one side of the backing with a tab. You then place the screen onto the iPad screen, trying to do so without leaving a lot of bubbles. I tried as best I could to align the screen hole over the iPad button and then slowly applied the rest of the screen moving from bottom to top. Unfortunately after applying the screen and then removing the outside of the clear screen with the other tab, I was left with a LOT of bubbles.

Hoping to do better I repeated the process using the second of the supplied screens. My efforts the second time were a bit better in terms of a smaller amount of bubbles, but then I noticed a piece of yellow lint that had been left by the supplied yellow cleaning cloth that I had used to wipe the iPad screen. When I tried to remove the lint with the cloth and replaced the clear screen back onto the iPad screen, there was a noticeable smudge.

I was now down to the last of the three supplied screens and repeated the process again except this time I discovered that when applying the clear screen to the iPad screen DIAGONALLY starting from the bottom and moving toward the top, you can do so leaving almost no bubbles at all. You will also need to be make certain that the sides of the clear screen and the iPad screen are aligned exactly or you will be left with a long bubble down most of one side.

After going through all of this trial and error, I was finally able to have a clear screen in acceptable condition with only a few bubbles. I only hope that readers of this review will learn from my own initial difficulties and not have to use all three of the supplied screens before arriving at a satisfactory result. 3 Pack of Premium Crystal Clear Screen Protectors for Apple iPad

This product works great once you figure out how it works.

At first glance it looks like 2 pieces stuck together that you have to pull apart.

It then appears that you should apply the thin one to your iPad. wrong.

The thicker side still has an invisible piece stuck to it.

You apply the thicker piece smoothly over your ipad and then squeeze out the few bubbles you see.

rub the whole face now to get the invisible layer to stick.

You then Peel Off the thick piece and you will see that another layer is present on your iPad.

This would have been nice to include as instructions but no instructions came with the product.

I would say that is pretty rude considering you cannot even see the piece that will be used.

So I bought the pack of 3 and got my last one to work. I figured it out on #2, #3 was perfect.

I've read most of the reviews for this product and it seems like the complaints revolve around installation. I too went through two before setting the last one down perfectly with virtually no bubbles. Start at the top and make sure the paper tab lettering is facing the iPad. Pull slowly from underneath and you will see that it lays is self down virtually with no bubbles. I just purchased a second set so I have them ready for when I damage the one I just installed.

I've applied this type of screen protector in the past (on my iPod Touch, Nintendo DS / DSi, and my PSP). Using the tips below, I was able to apply this LCD screen protector 99% bubble free. I was actually pleasantly surprised I was able to do this since it was by far the largest screen protector I've ever applied.

The instructions that come with the package are not very helpful. Below are mine. Hope they help.

INSTRUCTIONS / TIPS

====================

1) CLEAN the surface of your iPad. Use a microfiber cloth and even use a compressed air can if you want to be sure. Position yourself or a light so that you would be able to see ANY specs. Any leftover specs will raise the screen protector and will give you a bubble that you CANNOT remove. Keep the iPad's screen OFF so you have a better chance of seeing any specks.

2) First remove the plastic envelope/pouch that directly contains the screen protector.

3) Without removing and of the backing, place the screen protector with the hole over the iPad's circle button. Now you know exactly how much leeway you will have.

Also make sure that the circle is popped out of the screen protector.

4) Find something flexible and semi-rigid to push away the air bubbles. You WILL be getting air bubbles as you apply the screen protector. The trick will be to remove them as you apply the screen protector. With smaller screen protectors, I've used credit cards. But in this case, the screen is bigger. I've found that the plastic Staples cards you get in the mail (the ones that the size of postcards) are very helpful for this task. Your second choice may be a credit card or the very thin, plastic window of a cheap picture frame. Whatever you use, make sure it has a sizable straight edge and no sharp corners (You don't want to puncture the screen protector).

6) Peel away a corner of the backing (The side labeled #1). Don't peel the whole backing off. You'll need to touch the backing in order to reposition the screen protector if necessary.

7) Continue to peel the backing but keep it minimal. You want just enough so that you can position the hole over the circle button. If you don't get it the 1st time, remove from the iPad's surface as little as possible and try again. Be careful to avoid getting any dust on the iPad's screen at this time. This is why it's good to keep as much backing on as possible.

8) After you have adequately centered the hole around the circle button, begin to slowly peel the Side 1 Backing while you use your flexible card to push away any air bubbles. Push the bubbles to the EDGE of the screen protector. If there are bubbles that are difficult to get rid of and if you're certain that's it just a bubble and not caused by specks, then you can gently remove as much backing as needed from the iPad's screen and try again. TAKE YOUR TIME.

9) Hopefully you've managed to attach the screen protector with minimal bubbles. Continue to push away as many bubbles as possible.

10) Now you need to peel of Side 2 Backing. But since the screen protector is already attached to your iPad screen, you will need to be VERY careful and slow. It's possible that the quick removal of Side 2 Backing can lift the screen protector off of the iPad screen and cause air bubbles. If there are air bubbles, use the flexible card to push away any air bubbles.

That's it, you're done. Sit back and treat yourself to a new app.

CONCLUSION

==========

I liked the fact that it includes 3 screen protectors. I was able to succeed with my first one but it's nice to know that there are backups.

I didn't like the minimal instructions with the package (and the Engrish spellings). This item is very cheap. If it were more expensive, I would expect to get a flexible plastic card for getting rid of the air bubbles.

The screen protector itself has a slightly oily residue. When your iPad is off, you can see it. The residue is not visible when the iPad is turned on. - Ipad - Screen Protectors - Case - Ipad Case'

Red Cyan Glasses - red cyan glasses, 3d movie glasses

We have tried 3 sets of 3-D glasses to use for my sons to play Minecraft in 3-D. None of them worked until we got these. These are awesome, fit perfectly and work fantastically. I think for computer games in 3-D, not just any 3-D glasses will work. We tried regular blue/red cardboard glasses, and they were as if we had nothing on. Then we tried some from a local movie theatre and they worked just slightly. A neighbor had some supposed anaglyph glasses but they were like the cardboard ones and it was as if we had nothing on our eyes. Then I read a few reviews on a Minecraft forum about these 3-D glasses and thought we'd try them. VOILA!! They work! Totally worth the rather high shipping, in my opinion. We tried these while watching a movie on our iMac in 3-D and they worked for that as well. 3D Glasses Pro Ana (TM) for movies - HIGH END - Anaglyph Glasses for Computers, Movies - Less Ghosting

...for 3D movies as well as Nvidia 3D Vision Discovery/Stereoscopic 3D gaming. Being what they are, the technology has its limitations, but these minimize them quite well. Worth the purchase to have around. I bought several pair for movie nights/gaming fun with friends.

I bought these to replace a really cheasy pair of paper 3D graphics I'd gotten with Roxio Creator 10. The problem I have with them is that they don't fit over my eye glasses well, and I doubt they will if you wear glasses also. If you don't need glasses or wear contacts they may be just fine.

I have 3 sets of 3-D glasses, starting with the cheap paper ones. This is the best performer, it is not perfect, but it is great for the price. I noticed it works much better with a computer LCD display, than with a TV-CRT. Big difference! Using the same movie and scene to compare. This may account for the wide difference in feedback.

It works great... picture quality is fine... I actually wouldn't expect anything more from these glasses. Also it's my first purchase of anaglyph glasses so have nothing to compare with. I just bought them cos all the review said that they are best for anaglyph 3d... And I have few 3D apps in my iphone and it rellay works :-) that's all i can say

I bought this pair of glasses, as well as the Nvidia 3D Vision Ultimate Anaglyph 3D Glasses at the same time here at Amazon. They are a little darker than the Nvidia pair. I prefer these over the Nvidia glasses as they are much more comfortable. They work great with the anaglyph drivers I downloaded at the iZ3D driver download page. I have played Day of Defeat: Source, as well as Blood Bowl Legendary Edition, and they make the games feel much more immersive. It seems to take a few minutes of playing before the image starts to look good. I know I need to play with the driver settings to fine tune it. Overall, this is a good, inexpensive investment for 3d gaming.

I have found that I need to turn off the 3d drivers when I am not in the game, as it causes odd artifacts when using firefox and viewing webpages. I have noticed that my framerate has dropped down below 100fps at 1600x1200 with these drivers.

This is comforatable glasses to wear on the eyes. I tried to view Toy Story 3 3D on my laptop & it works. Also able to see 3D videos on YouTube. Although the 3D is not perfect, but still it is a satisfactory product in this cost to have 3D experience at home. There is some ghosting effect too. And I can't wear these glasses on my existing prescribed glasses. I have to remove my spectacles to use this properly. I will compare this with the traditional card board glasses too. - Anaglyph - 3d Movie Glasses - Great Quality - Red Cyan Glasses'

Ankle Weights

I wear these around the house all day long (I am a 62 year old female)...walking, up and down the stairs, doing leg lifts side to side and back kicks, front kicks. My legs are more toned and finally strong (I had really weak legs). When I go out without the weights on my ankles, I can walk forever! Well worth the price. One hint: if the weight beads become hard and hurt your ankles, just take a small hammer and "pound" the beads lightly to loosen them. Sometimes the beads meld together and harden, but easily soften after "mushing" them. I have had these for months and they still are like new. No wear and tear at all! My daughter used them to train for months before she entered "Tough Mudders". Highly recommend! Reebok Adjustable Ankle Weight (10-Pounds)

I bought these because they were Reebok. But unfortunately having a big brand name is not a guarantee of quality. The fabric began to rub through after less than one week of use. In addition, the iron filings used for weight seemed to have been magnetized, and would congeal into hard painful mass.

I really dislike how the velcro is on these weights. The way the velcro is makes them perpetually slide off your ankle on one part of the weight. I don't understand why they wouldn't have made the velcro extend just a little further. Maybe they aren't designed for people with smaller legs. They are very big and VERY bulky. I bought them to wear under the legs of my pants while at work so I could get toned up while walking back and forth in my busy job. But I can't wear them discreetly under my pants at all, and even if you remove one/some of the weights (a nice enough feature) they are STILL too big to fit under your pants. I'm talking Hulk huge. But they are good quality. I'd also have liked if the weights had some sort of buffer so they weren't rubbing on your ankle bone but I suppose that would make them even bulkier. It's got to be a trade-off for a larger amount of weight, I suppose. The biggest issue IMO is the stupid velcro straps! They won't secure to part of the weight.

Well they're approximately 5 pounds each and they attach to your ankles with the straps, that's what is advertised. At first when I felt the material on the weights inside I didn't know if it would hold up for extended usage so I wrapped the weight pouches with a few layers of duct tape, no more worries there

I got these today hoping to take my work-out to the next level and I couldn't even wear them for more than 20 Minutes. They HURT so much! The sand bags feel like wearing a bear trap around my legs. Very, very uncomfortable. I will be returning them.

This is gotta be one of the nicer comfortable ankle weights out there. I've used the blue plastiky ankle weights at the rec and must say these are more comfy around your ankles.

The sand bags was a bit difficult to takeout/putin so -1 star. Not sure how often one needs to do this. Otherwise, the straps and cloth material are very nice.

I live on the fourth floor of my dormitory, and we don't have an elevator. It's hard to maintain a regular exercise schedule at university, and the ankle weights are great for getting a little bit of a workout by just putting them on and going through my daily routine!

I really like that the weights themselves are sandbags, so they form to the shape of your ankle after a few steps, and that they're easy to put on and take off. The only thing I would warn other potential buyers about is that they do take some getting used to, and if you don't wear them with socks, they tend to chafe. Also, be careful when wearing them -- if you use these weights correctly, they'll be great, but if you don't pay attention to how they change the way you move and work to correct it, you can do some serious damage to your knees. The added momentum when stepping forward can hyper-extend the knee and lead to repetitive-motion injuries.

As long as you're careful, though, and use these correctly, they're great. Two thumbs up.

I bought these years ago...used to use them quite a bit, just now fished them out of the closet again. Mine came from a Big 5 store.

They're pretty versatile...yeah, you can use them on your ankles but I've used them rolled up as hand weights, and, if you put them together, you can put them around your waist which doesn't tone anything in particular, but still makes you work harder if you're doing squats and lunges.

Really useful and I haven't seen a great many better solutions.

The biggest issues I have with wearing them often are that they get uncomfortable..it would be nice if there was some gel padding but there's not...just a fabric with sandbags which form hard spots. They especially hurt over the ankle bones. The fabric is rough too (some synthetic like what they make gym bags out of) and if you don't wear socks it can chaff.

Finally, I don't think I have super small ankles (female in my 20s), but I generally use them with all the sandbags. It's a good thing too or they'd fall off. Even at the "tightest" setting, they still tend to slip down. Only my sneakers really hold them up. If I'm barefoot (around the apartment) they'll scrape the ground like socks that won't stay up.

These are well made and do the job. However there are two things I don't like about them. They are adjustable, but not enough. When the product description says "adjustable from 1-5 lbs" I assumed that meant I would have the option for 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 pounds. Unfortunately there are only 4 weights of 1.25 lbs each. For a small amount of weight overall, jumping up by 1.25 lbs is a lot. Now that I have these and have tried them, not only would 1 lb increments be better, but I think I'd prefer 1/2 lb increments.

My other issue with them is that the weights are bags of sand, and if you frequently need to adjust the weight (I do in every workout), it's a bit too difficult to stuff bags of sand in and out because they take a bit of manhandling to coax in. It's not that bad, but too much fuss in the middle of a workout when you're trying not to have much of a break. I think a metal weight would slide in and out much easier. So.... now that I've tried these I'd really prefer metal weights in 1/2 lb increments. I'd return these but I'm worried the return shipping will be so high because it's 10 lbs total that it won't be worth it.'

Singer-songwrit - nice, free

I was not much of a fan of simple singer songwriter compositions this sampler made me one.

The entire sampler comprises talented singer songwriter Tony Lucca playing acoustic guitar/some piano and singing great songs.

I wikied him, 'found he is already a successful musician I assume this sampler is an attempt to gain a wider audience to his music.

He has a wife, kids and undeniable talent. He appears to be if not living the dream at least qualified to enter the contest.

Great songs great lyrics great guitar his playing and singing is close to beautiful although as another man I can't say that out loud.

Fantastic free sampler download now onto your massive hard drive and play it when you are feeling good about yourself this guy will make you realize you actually have a way to go. Solo [Amazon MP3 Exclusive]

I would have never even heard of you if it weren't for Amazon's free downloads..so many, many thanks for sharing.

I wouldn't classify this as folk music, however. He kinda has his own genre. Beautiful lyric.

If you like Marc Cohn, you will like Tony Lucca...singer/songwriter/musician with talent.

Love the simplicity..Solo. Mostly guitar, but love the piano on 'Pretty Things". Talented guy.

My Faves:

4. The Hustler, the Widow, and the Boy from Detroit..

6. Take Me Home

7. I Can, I Will, I Do

8. So Long

9. Death of Me

10. Pretty Things

I have been following him since his days in MMC, and I am so happy I can get his album for free. There are so many stars that came from that show, but I have always felt that Tony was one of the best! Try it out, Im sure you'll love it!

Perusing free downloads, I give this one a listen. I am so happy I did, also happy that the album was available in it's entirety & for free! I felt a depth and honest emotion going into the lyrics and a nice vocal quality with this guy. Apparently he's been around for sometime but I never heard of him before. I'm glad that Amazon hooked me up! I'm a true fool for (quality) acoustic and the frame is simple in a true good way. If that makes sense to you, download and you won't be disappointed. If they aren't offering this for free down the road, pay for it! It's worth it!

I am thoroughly impressed with how much I ended up liking this album. When downloading a FREE download off of amazon I would never expect it to be SO good. I fell completely in love with this mans voice and style. I hope others enjoy this as well it is a great free piece. Thank you amazon.

This is one of the best original artist I have heard in a long time. I will def. be on the look out for other albums by Tony Lucca. His ability to express longing, desire, loss, love...just amazing. Vocal texture that will leave your heart beating a little faster. Perfect music for firelight nights, with or without your loved one. Yet this music is so versital and lovely you'll want to take it with you everywhere. I would love to hear him remake a few irish and mountain tragic ballads... you listening Tony :)

I've been mentioning this free album download to my friends and family. It's beautiful and wonderful. It is perfect background music for an intimate dinner or while your are chatting with friends on the deck with a glass of wine. Tony Lucca's voice is fantastic and the acoustic guitar and piano add just the right balance to the songs.

I also own the other version of 'So Long'. I heard it while listening to Pandora. That song became an instant favorite of mine. I encourage you to listen to that one as well.

My only regret is my local radio stations have not discovered Tony Lucca yet. Fools.

Hey thanks for your album! I listen to everything from U2, 2Pac, Oasis, Johnny Gill and Tim Mcgraw. You are really easy to listen to. You voice is not pitchy, its steady and controlled. That is such a relief these days. I won't do the displeasure of comparing you. I really enjoy your sound. Keep Rocking, I love the acoustic. - Acoustic - Nice - Free - Soul'

Postage Scale - postal scales, postal scale

I am really happy with this purchase. Super fast shipping and this is an excellent product. I just received this and it works great. Every thing seems to be very accurate and super easy to use. It is very compact and lightweight so I can take it out and put it away very easily, and it doesnt take up much space. I also don't have to run back and forth to the post office just to weigh something now. The price is a real bargain for a product like this. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone. Weighmax Electronic Postal Scale - Weighmax 2850-15

Product as described. Not bulky, which makes it easy to store when not in use. Fold up top feature very convenient for weighing large envelopes. Comes with both a battery and an AC adapter. AC adapter would be conveninet for someone who would use the scale every day.

Initially, I was looking to replace a digital scale from My Weigh that accommodated up to 15lbs and was a bit pricey at $40 without an AC Adapter. In looking at the various scales that were Prime eligible, I ran across the 35 lb version of the Weighmax, but on delivery the LCD was faulty and I had to return it. Then I found this 15lb version and it included an AC adapter and a 9 volt battery. It only has one read out in lbs & ounces and no tare button. The taring function is gotten around by putting whatever object you are going to place the item in and then turning on the scale. That amounts to a tare option. It works well enough for my purposes and now the question is the unit's durability that can only be determined over time. The lifetime warranty is better than nothing, but really somewhat worthless because you have to send the scale back at your expense and if it is past one year you then have to pay to get it fixed. At that point, you might as well as buy a new one because these basically throwaway electronics just aren't worth repairing. The unit is small enough, compact, and stable enough on a level surface (such as a ceramic tile). Hopefully it will last many years.

Extremely happy that I don't have to go to the post office every time I mail a package out now. The scale is compact but can hold a large package which is nice and you can flip the back up if you need added support. If you want to zero it out first, just put your object on the scale and then turn it on. Easy to use and saves me a ton of time/gas/effort!

Got this to replace my 10-yr old Royal that was starting to give odd readings (and does not have a replaceable battery). I never use grams for measuring, but I had noticed it was described BY AMAZON as offering that option. It does not. It has only an off/on switch, and the instruction booklet says it weighs in lbs and oz. I like the fact that it uses a 9v replaceable battery...which should last longer than those with AA or AAA batteries. Plus, if I had to, I could plug it in. very lightweight (feels cheap) but is quite accurate. A bit bulkier than the old Royal (which I loved until it started acting wacky this week) but easy to grab and put on the desktop when you need to weigh a small package or envelope. The flip-up lid is interesting..allows you to rest a large oversized envelope on it for weighing. Overall, seems like a good bang for the buck. Now if Amazon would stop misrepresenting its capabilities, that would give this 5 stars.... - Postal Scales - Postal Scale - Postal'

Right-angle Drills

I bought the cordless version of the tool when it first came out. Always eyed the FEIN but just couldn't justify spending $300 + on a tool I would probably only use once in a while. After using the 12v cordless Bosch I quickly realized two things. First, this is one of the handiest tools to have in your truck. Second, the cordless 12v version from Bosch was underpowered for anything a professional would ask of it. If work hadn't been so scarce over the last year or two I would have thrown the cordless away and bought the FIEN without blinking an eye. Well, work is getting a little better and Bosch finally beefed up the tool by attaching a cord and matching the power of the FIEN tool. Now, I can't see any reason to spend the extra money on the FEIN as Bosch has done a great job with this tool.

If you can afford the extra $30, get the model with the few extra blades and plastic case. The little bag that came with mine is junk and you have to remove the blade to properly fit the tool in. Eitherway, the tool itself does such a good job and anyone that does finish carpentry needs this in their tool bag. Bosch MX25EC-21 2.5-Amp Multi-X Oscillating Tool Kit

I am a residential electrician and purchased the multi-tool for cutting into cabinets and lathe and plaster walls for my outlet boxes. What I used to use was drill bits and a sawzall and I became quite adept at it. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the perfect cut 100% of the time, and I would either damage the finish of a wall or add a couple "love taps" to the cabinet courtesy of a bent sawzall blade.

Not any more!!! The multi-tool is great for making perfect, precision cuts in every material medium I come across, from hard oak cabinets to 90 year old pine lathe in homes.

Its incredibly easy to use from the first cut, and I never felt out of control or that the tool would jump. I had to get used to the vibrating and noise but thats about it.

I chose the Bosch over the Craftsman or Rigid because of the quality name that the brand carries throughout its impressive power tool line. This is my first Bosch power tool. I probably would have gone with Makita if they produced a multi-tool, as all my other power tools are Makita. The Fein tool is obviously a great tool and the originator of this kind of power tool, but its still ridiculously over priced and the blades are too. I felt that Bosch probably did their homework and for them to undercut Fein by half price just points to Fein being over priced, not Bosch being cheap.

I've used a Fein before and I can say there is no difference in the quality of the tool.

Overall, I am impressed and very happy with my purchase. Only time will tell how well it holds up, but I have no doubts that it will.

I bought one of these a couple of months back because of the video, must have watched it a hundred times while buying material at the contractor counter at my local Building Supply.( the slow sell) I've been doing a lot of deck building recently and thought I would put this thing through it's paces. It was a little awkward at first but once you get used to how a multi-tool operates, it's pretty slick. I've always used a handsaw to finish my cuts on stair jacks. Not any more. The Bosch does a cleaner job. I also do plunge cuts in my corner posts for deck railing. It's always been tedious using a short jigsaw blade to get into the inside corner where I literally cut out a cube shape in the corner of the post. I would always have to clean it up with a chisel. Again the Bosch makes short clean work of it. I needed to get an accurate floor level height to build a deck against an exterior wall prior to installing the patio door. Cutting a small square hole in the drywall and then cutting through a section of sole plate and finally sliding through the siding at floor level only took a couple of minutes with the multi-tool. It is now the second tool to come out of my tool box. The first is of course the Skil-saw, The third is now my recip-saw. I never thought I would replace that tool in so many instances. In short, this saw will change how you do your precision work.

OMG...Forget ever using a sawzall again. This thing makes easy, and neat work out of any trim work you need to do.

Especially in place. Just mark it, and cut it. I LOVE IT...!!! Wished I had one years ago. And the shipping was

extremely fast...!!! I think I ordered it late on a Thursday, said it might be here on Monday at the earliest, and it

showed up on Saturday. That was so cool because I actually needed to use it on the weekend. Very pleased with the tool,

and the seller...!!!

We're doing a project to replace the bath vanity, requiring some plunge cutting, tile cutting, tile removal, etc. This was a great excuse to get an oscillating tool. Just used it for a couple of hours in connection with removoving some tile and backer board. Folks, this thing is the BUSINESS. I have a few Bosch tools, and I have always been pleased with them, so I'm biased going in. Granted the Fein Multimaster might be great, but it's expensive. I was considering some lower priced oscillating tools out there, but I was a bit worried about long term durability vs price point.

To me, this Bosch fits right in with great quality at a reasonable price. Just being able to plunge cut in certain situations makes this worthwhile. Sometimes you just need to cut straight in, and recip, or jig just won't work. But with the other various accessories, sanding, grout removal, etc, it's great. I need to regrout the tub enclosure too (one day...), and with this, it will make the job much easier. No WAY I would consider sawing out grout with a hand grout saw. That's nuts. As it is, using this tool I reckon it would take me a couple of hours to remove the grout in a typical enclosure. With a hand grout saw? Well, I figure infinity. There may be more specialized grout grinders out there, but this tool has other uses too. Let's face it, as a home DIYer, I'm not doing tub enclosures every day.

The kit I got came with a sanding pad, sandpaper assortment, round wood/metal saw, 1/8 kerf grout, rigid scraper, and a straight Japansese-tooth hardwood blade. Also comes with an adaptor which claims to allow 1) accessory attachment at intermediate positions, and 2) the use of competitor accessories. I popped for a few extras so far: a 1/16 kerf grout (for close spaced tiles, which I have); a diamond round (pricey, but claims to cut tile); and a straight wood/metal blade (the Japanese-tooth blade is not ideal for all materials due to the long tooth length.) I see Bosch also has some sort of hybrid surface grinder accessory too, which could come in handy. The flexible scraper would be good too.

Highly recommended.'

Inkjet Cartridges - hewlett-packard, 74xl

I had an HP 3320 before buying my new HP Photosmart 4480 and the ink for both printers lasted a long time and are of very good quality. The Vivera inks are great quality for photos and time will tell how long the photos actually last. HP 74/75 Ink Cartridge, Combo Pack in Retail Packaging

In late November I bought a new HP printer from Amazon.com. At the same time I ordered two HP 74/75 Inkjet Combo Packs and am happy to report I am very pleased with the quality of the cartridges. When I need more cartridges I will order the same ones.

Company promptly shipped the order but only included the cartridges. This became more of an issue because they also sent along an HP manufacturers rebate form, but this form requires the original UPC from the box that was not included.

My second order -- service has been prompt and products are new. Packaging might not be as expected: instead of combo packs, I received 2 black cartridges, boxed separately, and 2 color cartridges, only in their foil bags. As far as I'm concerned, the less packaging, the better. They are NOT refurbished items, they are new and work well. I'll continue to buy from this company.

HP 74/75 Inkjet Print Cartridge Combo Pack (CC659FN)

The ink cartridges came in record time. They are authentic HP cartridges and work fine. I have not had a bad purchase or delayed delivery with Amazon. I am quite satisfied with the product and the quick delivery through Amazon. Thank you!

Saves me a trip to Staples, where I usually spend more money than I want to. There's not much I can say about the merchandise itself; it's real HP ink in the right cartridges, and it keeps my printer happy, which keeps me happy. Right price, fast delivery. - 74xl - Hewlett-packard - 75xl - Ink Cartridge'

Flat Panel Mount - wall mount, flat panel mount

I recently purchased 2 Samsung LCD TVs, 40" for the master bedroom and 52" for the family room. Initially I was planning to purchase one articulating mount for the master bedroom and one simple titling mount for the family room. However, based on the quality of this unit, I purchased 2 articulating mounts. In addition to providing flexibility in viewing angles/positions, articulating mounts are great for the initial set-up and subsequent rewiring or replacement of components (you do not have to take off the TV; you simply pull it out and the back of the TV is easily accessible).

This unit is heavy (definitely 2-person job to mount the wall plate), solid, and made with high quality materials. Installation was pretty straight-forward. Instructions were somewhat terse (small/tiny diagrams) and not clear (e.g., which screws/bolts/spacers to use when attaching the back beams to the TV), but they were not that difficult to figure out.

Here are some recommendations:

1) Make sure that the back beams are attached to the TV at equal height. Even if you use the same holes, there is about 0.125" play when tightening the bolts. Otherwise, the TV could be not level even if the wall plate is level.

2) If you have a low margin of error for the height of the mount (I had to mount them in a built in cabinets with 1" gap on all 4 sides), attach the back beams to the TV first and measure the distace between the top of the TV and the point where the beam will "hook" on to the plate. Then figure out where to drill the holes based on the distance between the point where the beam will "hook" on to the plate and the center of openings for the screws/bolts.

3) Always measure twice and use a high quality level to make sure that the mount is level. VideoSecu Articulating TV Wall Mount for Most 37"-55" TV, Dual Arm Extends up to 26 Inch From Wall Free HDMI cable 1VH

This is an awesome product! It's very strong and feels very stable even when the TV is fully extended from the wall! It was simple to install and mount the TV. I checked with my local electronics store and they wanted $400-$500 for an articulating mount that wasn't nearly as strong and stable in the store display. I highly recommend this mount to everyone even if you don't intend to use the articulation. The articulation makes it so much easier to make connections on the back of the TV! I can't find words to say how great this product is! The value and strength are the best I've found anywhere!

I purchased this product a few days ago on Wednesday and received it on Saturday. I had the cheapest shipping so I was quite impressed to get it so quickly.

The item out of the box felt very sturdy and looked great. The directions were very easy to understand. There were a lot of diagrams and there were pictures for every nut and bolt size. There was a vast array of screw sizes as well as different lengths.

I have a 42 inch LG plasma and the brackets were easy to install. What's nice is the bracket came with screw extenders because the mount could not screw flush to the back of the tv, the tv had some screws that poked out the back.

Installation of the mount to the wall was easily as well. You will need a drill to make the initial holes as well as a ratchet to tighten the wall bolts. The mount has a leveler on it but we used our own leveler to level the system.

The brackets on the tv easily sit on the mount and voila you are done.

There is enough space to plug wires in the back of the tv infront of the mount. I would recommend using the spacers for the additional room. It is amazing how far the tv swings out and to the side. I will have to post pictures of my tv.

All in all this is a great system for the value ($75), hands down. I would definitely purchase another in the future.

Cheers!

I have had a 52" Philips LCD for over a year now and have been searching for a swivel mount that can come off the wall so I can wire or re-wire my componets to the tv. Every mount I came accross at my local stores (Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Target) were all in the hundreds, some close to $400.00. Rediculous! I decided to check online and see what I could find. So I googled large LCD swivel mounts and I found a lot on Amazon that sell thru another party. I found three mounts that stuck out for me, this one, another made by cheetah, and another one made by Videosecu. I ultimatley eneded up choosing this one beacuse it has duel arms that hold the LCD up instead of just one (Cheetah mount) I wanted to make sure that the arms would hold up my 89lb LCD.

I ordered the mount on Decemebr 16th and recieved it on December 23rd. On Amazon.com the description said it weighs between 40 lbs. and 50 lbs. for the shipping weight. The package I recieved weighed 21.5 lbs, So I assumed they sent me the wrong mount so I opened it up any ways to take a look and I looked online to see if the model numbers were the same and they were except online the model number was MW360BH and the one I received was MW360B does the missing H really matter I thought? Inside the box does not give you a max load weight but all other measurements were correct and matched. I deceided to put the mount up any ways. I read on other reviews for this product that the hardware given in the box to hang the mount were less than efficent so I looked at them and yes, they are pretty low grade lag screws, so I went to Home Depot and bought four 5/16x3 lag screws and four 3/8 washers. I also before hand bought a stud finder that finds the middle of the studs. Make sure that your studs are no more that 16.5 inches apart or else the mount will NOT work. Make sure you hit the middle of the studs with the lag screws or else you will be crying your self to sleep over a busted LCD or plazma that fell off the wall. The mount it self is very sturdy and is made of good solid materials. I measured to the center of my wall and then marked where the studs are. I drilled small pilot holes and screwed one top corener in and while I held it up I checked where it was with a level marked the the side to be drilled. That was the hadrest part do. This job might require a another person. The mount is not easy to hold up, level, and screw down by your self. After I got the mount bolted down I checked the stability of it by putting some weight on it. I weigh 220lbs and hung most of my weight on it and it did not budge at all. Put the tv on and slid it on evenly. Perfect. Buy this mount! - Tv Wall Mount - Flat Panel Mount - Lcd Wall Mount - Wall Mount'

Canon Waterproof Digital - canon, underwater digital camera

So many of our family's vacations are at beaches, lakes, water-parks, or hikes and bringing along the sensitive digital camera has always been a problem. If I carried it then I could not get in water and I spent more time worrying whether the sand would damage it than taking pics of my family. I lost a camera on a Disney Park fun ride when water suddenly splashed into the ride and we were miserable for losing all our pics. With this camera you can drop it in water and not worry about your pics unless you lose the camera (happened to me another time when I fell overboard and dropped a camera in the open sea). I have other cameras that I have been too lazy to review but I am excited about this one so I sat down to write this review.

This is like a regular Canon Camera with all the features and the added waterproof feature. It can be compared to the new SD780 IS which sells for fifty bucks less. The features are similar, except that this one is waterproof and bulkier and does not have a viewfinder (not that you can see much through a fogged up viewfinder in humid conditions).

Some great features:

- Good looking waterproof camera, "cuteness" is very important, I disliked those clear cases that you have to screw on your camera and as one reviewer reported they can still get fogged up

- Rainproof/Waterproof up to 33 ft, good for most pools or waterparks

- Freeze proof lens up to 14 deg F

- SMART Auto mode that detects the right scene mode for each shot (works great)

- Digic 4 processor, auto shots are nicer than some older Canon cameras, optical image stabilization and motion detection to prevent blurring of images

- 2.5 inch extra bright LCD that's covered by a protective surface to prevent scratches and looks good in bright sun

- 3X optical and 12X digital zoom

- Face detection

- "Blink" detection - the camera gives a blink warning if someone's eyes are closed in the picture

- Contrast correction - Can be set while taking picture or even afterward to correct darker areas

- Continuous shooting lets you capture the perfect water shot

- Scene modes - The auto mode does a good job of sensing the conditions but if you want to set a mode you get the choice of - Night exposure, Panorama (stitch together shots in one), programmable mode, portrait, sunset, beach, fireworks, aquarium, underwater, snow, indoor, kids and pets, foliage, long shutter, color accent (keep only one color in a pic, so the water and jeans will be blue while the people black and white) and color swap (change one color to another, swap the color of your boat from beige to red).

Negatives:

- Slightly bulkier than your typical Canon SD, it's built for water, beach and rugged use, and it's rounder shape with no hard edges can take a fall or two

- No threads for filters

- No RAW mode

- No lens cap but the glass shield is scratchproof

The back panel is pretty intuitive and you probably won't need the manual to figure it out. The buttons have been designed for waterproof operations and the zoom in and out is done through buttons on the back of the camera rather than with the shutter button lever like with other Canon cameras. The photo and video mode is toggled through a round button next to the shutter button.

The best thing about this camera? You can give it to your 6 year old to take underwater pics and not worry about it, how many other "real" cameras can you do that with?! Now I can float down that lazy river at the water park with my family and take some nice shots rather than running along the edge trying to capture the perfect moment. And the best thing is that this camera works just as well on land. It's the perfect no-nonsense take along everywhere (really every where!) vacation camera. Canon PowerShot D10 12.1 MP Waterproof Digital Camera with 3x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.5-inch LCD

I've been playing with my new Powershot D10 for about a week and really like it. I have been using Canon SLRs for 25+ years, AE1 Program, A1, Elan 7e, and Digital Rebel. When I started looking for a waterproof camera to take snorkeling, my first choice was Canon, based on my many years of satisfaction with their products, and I was very lucky that this camera was released two weeks before leaving for vacation. (Amazon had been showing the camera as available for pre-order until earlier today. I purchased mine from a local camera store.)

I'm very impressed with the picture quality on this camera. The 12 megapixel sensor, coupled with a dozen shooting modes, produce an excellent image. I'm used to controlling aperture and shutter speed on the SLR, so simply selecting "portrait" or "night exposure" mode and letting the camera do all the work just seems too easy. Or, if selecting "portrait" is too difficult, you can select "auto" and just let the camera do it all. Movie quality is also quite good. The LCD screen on the back of the camera seems huge compared to the 1" screen on my old Digital Rebel. It's a great display.

The controls are conveniently arranged, and easy to use, and the associated icons displayed are both informative and intuitive. You can choose to display all the settings or turn them off and just see the image. One of the useful display options is a grid overlay on the screen to assist with shot composition and the "Rule of Thirds." The optical zoom works great. By the time you get to 12x with the digital zoom, the image is kind of grainy, but that's to be expected.

You can take macro photographs an inch or two from your subject. I've had trouble focusing my Digital Rebel in the dark, but Canon seems to have improved low-light focusing quite a bit. It has a manual focus feature that indicates the distance to the subject as you adjust the focus, just in case it can't get the focus right.

I like the Panorama feature, which displays the previous shot on the viewfinder while you're composing the next shot, allowing the photographer to closely match subsequent shots, resulting in panoramic photos with less distortion when they're stitched together. Panorama mode also locks in the exposure value of the first shot so that the exposure in subsequent shots all match the first shot.

The face recognition and blink detection both seem to work well. As the camera focuses, it will zoom in on one of the faces so the photographer can verify correct focus. After the shot is taken, if someone blinked it will identify the face of the person blinking so you can take another shot. These can be turned on or off according to user preference. Images seem very crisp, which I attribute to the image stabilization features, which can also be turned on or off.

I've had the camera in the sink, and it handles six inches of water with no problems. I'll see how it does with thirty two and a half more feet of water when it meets the Atlantic Ocean in a few weeks! The wrist strap attaches to any one of the four corners of the camera (convenient for carrying in either left or right hand) and seems to be pretty secure, so no worries about losing it if you get knocked over by a wave.

I use Photoshop Elements, so I haven't loaded the Canon software and can't comment on that. And since I edit photos on the computer, I doubt that I'll use some of the in-camera editing features, such as black and white, sepia, color swap, and the various color enhancements. I could see that would be useful to those who print directly from the camera, without editing on a computer.

The camera doesn't allow you to shoot in RAW. I generally don't shoot in RAW with my SLR, so that doesn't worry me. It has a number of white balance modes, custom white balance, and auto white balance. It seems to do a good job selecting the correct shooting conditions in auto mode. Colors appear correct.

A couple of drawbacks: The camera isn't threaded so you're not able to attach filters. There's also no lens cap, and I worry about the lens surface getting damaged. For a rugged "adventure" camera, I'm also surprised that there's no GPS chip so that photos can be tagged with the exact location. I look at old slides taken while I was hiking and think "that's neat, why can't I remember where I took that." It would be nice if the EXIF data included lattitude and longitude. (Watch Canon come out with the Powershot D10 "Gold" six months from now that incorporates these features. The curse of being an early adopter.)

The microphone picks up every movement your fingers make as you hold the camera, so it's difficult to capture movies without some camera noise. The speaker on the bottom of the camera is also difficult to hear when playing movies back on the camera, but movies sounds fine when I pop the memory chip into the computer and watch in Quicktime. Movies are produced in the .mov format, so you'll have to do some conversion if you want to do anything with it in Windows Movie Maker. You can also choose between higher quality 640 x 480, or lower quality 320 x 240. (I should post a video review, but look like a dork in movies, so I'll spare everybody that.)

Tried to take a few infrared photos, but the image has the Hot Spot typical of many Canon cameras and lenses. I held a Hoya R72 filter over the lens and took several shots. Bright sunlight is about a 4" exposure, and all shots have a bluish circle in the center.

The drawbacks are very minor compared to the great images this camera produces.

I'm very impressed with this camera. It feels very sturdy, takes great photos, and seems very easy to use. Although I'll probably continue to use my Digital Rebel as my primary camera, I certainly look forward to many years of fun with this camera. - Waterproof Camera - Canon - Underwater Digital Camera - Waterproof Digital Camera'

Espresso Maker - coffee, espresso maker

This Espresso machine is great for people who love good espresso but can't afford fancy machines. In fact, I think I like this machine better than the fancy machine my mom has. It's super easy to use and quick- I make a latte every morning before work. And in fact you CAN froth milk with the wand- it takes a little finagling but the trick is to rotate the mug around the wand. It may take a couple of tries to get a routine down but by the third time you'll get the hang of it. And may I suggest- if you're making lattes, make only one at a time to get good foam. Enjoy!

I'm surprised at some of the negative reviews of this product. Perhaps the reviewers ended up with the occasional lemons. I've purchased two of these...one I bought for myself, and the other as a gift, and they've worked beautifully. The milk steamer is very effective (but as noted, the wand is a bit short, which would be my only complaint). It would be nice to have a separate bypass switch between brewing and steaming modes, but the lack of one is common in machines in this price range. Overall I'm very happy with mine and have had no problems at all. At the current price, I'd highly recommend purchasing one. If you want more features and better construction, then spend another $100 or more for a steam pump model, but for fast and easy coffee drinks from a functional, affordable machine, this is hard to beat.

January 2010 update: It's been over four years since purchasing two of these coffee makers, and both are still going strong. The one I purchased for myself is used almost daily, and still works perfectly.

I am far from a connoisseur of coffee, but I really like this machine. Unlike the Krupps that is similar priced (FND111 Allegro), it is make much more sturdy. I played with both in a feature to feature comparison and the DeLonghi is MUCH better made.

Best : Quality, quick espresso. Easy to clean, easy to use. Very attractive in the kitchen. Pretty darn quick. Great price for the quality.

OK : Frother is very short, so you need a short, stout cup to froth with. It is good for Cappuccino, but not really powerful enough for steaming a Latte's worth of milk. To get some extra steam, run it through an extra cycle just for steam.

Bad : Not really any for the price.

Overall, I am very, very pleased. I got it for only $39.99 here on Amazon and I think that is one heck of a good deal.

All the reviews I read before I purchased this item said that the coffee maker was purchased to make lattes. Several reviews mentioned the steaming wand being difficult to use, but that they managed in the long run. Well, I feel that the wand is impossible to use as there is no way to chose between the espresso selection and the steaming selection. If you follow the instruction regarding the coffee and the water portions, you have great espresso, but if you want to steam milk, you need to put in more water, but since there is no way to select steam, you have to try and steam the milk while the espresso is brewing and you end up having watered down espresso or steam milk that is not hot enough. I have resorted to just heating my milk up in the microwave and have more of an espresso with hot milk as opposed to a latte. If you want to make lattes, I recommend looking for another espresso maker.

I believe this is my fifth espresso and cappuccino maker (I have worn out the previous four) and this DeLonghi EC5 is by far the best one. It is easy to use, easy to clean, takes up little counter space, while producing the best espressos, cappuccinos and mochas I've made using a Steam-Driven home brewing system. I don't even bother using the glass carafe anymore except to measure and pour the correct amount of water into the machine. I put my favorite cup directly under the filter when I make an expresso, latte or mocha for myself and if a friend joins me I put two cups under the double spouts of the extended filter, which sits lower, allowing me to make two at the same time while foaming the milk. It saves time, makes less mess, and warms the cups at the same time. Perfect for those cold winter mornings allowing me more time to relax and enjoy a hot beverage while visiting with a friend. Less mess, less fuss, less time, and my friends and I believe it produces the best beverage yet while allowing us more time to visit.

After working at Starbucks and getting free espresso drinks for 4 years, I needed an espresso machine to support my habit. This one was the most affordable with the best reviews, and so we went with it. I am so impressed! First of all, don't follow the directions on steaming the milk, instead of moving the pitcher up and down just keep the tip of the steam wand right below the surface of the milk. It should just barely look like the surface is stirring. If you have too many bubbles pull the wand out slightly at an angle. That will make foam instead of bubbles. The quality of the espresso shot isn't the best, so if you drink straight espresso I wouldn't recommend this. But for lattes, cappuccinos, or flavored americanos, it's so worth it. The money we're saving is great. (Even for a pro barista like me it took a few tries to get it right to make two at a time, so don't get discouraged at first!) - Coffee Maker - Latte - Espresso Maker - Cappuccino - Coffee - Espresso'

For those who are not sure what this product does...it connects a single headphone jack (found on portable audio equipment) to right/left audio jack connectors on an audio receiver. So if your looking to hook up say your mp3 player or portable cd player to the receiver of your home stereo system look no further, you've found the right product.

I use this Belkin splitter to attach my muvo (mp3 flash player) and ,sometimes, my mp3 portable iriver cd player to my stereo system. Works great. I don't have a problem with the connection being loose, but I don't have an ipod to test this out with. My mp3 cd players and the few flash mp3 players I've tried work fine with this. Belkin, as usual, offers a quality product.

I purchased this splitter because I have tv shows on my laptop that I would rather watch on my 42'' Plasma HDTV, and unfortunately S-video cables don't transmit sound as well as video. So I bought this, plugged it into the headphone jack on my laptop and into the Audio inputs on my tv, and low and behold it worked like a charm! Finally I don't have to watch on a big screen while listening to the speakers on my laptop...

Don't let them fool you.

I love those endearing geeks at the Apple store as much as the next guy, but- I swear- they'll look you straight in the eye and try to convince you that you need to spend lots of cash if you want to play your iPod through your stereo.

And you do need to play your iPod through your stereo. Once you've gotten into the spirit of things, once you've spent those lonely hours crafting your playlists, you can't go back to shuffling CDs for your guests. At this point I have my "Warming Up" playlist, which transitions to the "Early Happening" list, then "Now We're Cooking" and finally the "Cooling Down" playlist. I even got carried away and made my Shiva playlist. In the completely unexpected and unfortunate event of my premature death ["God forbid! Khas Vesholem!" then spitting three times], please check my iPod for a list to play on shuffle mode during the nights of intense mourning. Enjoy the tunes. Some are meant to tug at the heart strings but others are a rollicking good time. Turn to each other and remark on what a shame it is, "of all people, Marc would have enjoyed this the most."

I got off topic there, sorry, but the point is, you need these cords to play your iPod or MP3 player through your stereo, but that's all you need. Now I know there are audiophiles out there who will argue the importance of spending a lot more money on a product that is better sound quality. I have a buddy who talks about this stuff all the time. He told me that, even the overtones that are out of the range of human hearing need to be transmitted faithfully because your body can feel the difference in the vibrations. He said it with such authority that I believed him. You know the type. He takes over the bar at parties because he knows the exact right way to mix drinks. He can talk endlessly about barbecue sauce. But, one day, he told me he really likes that really insipid James Blunt song. He even argued that it was well written. I try not to be judgmental but I just can't take him seriously anymore. Anyway, I don't get worked up about sound quality. It wasn't that long ago that we all listened to music on tapes with that hissing background noise, or listened to LPs with their pops and scratches, and it was fine. Just tune into the music and don't worry about the other stuff, take some breaths, work on your radical acceptance skills and you should be okay.

Cable works great and the length is just right for what I intended to use it for. With most cable purchases, it is strongly recommended that the buyer know exactly what length is needed. Too long and it gets bulky and cumbersome, not to mention it doesn't look great to have cables tangled everywhere. Too short and you'll be buying yet another cable.

I found this cable to be really useful for connecting my PC to a home theater TV system. Most PC's come with the standard DVI port and that hooks up to a flat-screen via a DVI/HDMI connector. HDMI can transmit/receive both digital video and audio. Unfortunately, the PC DVI port only transmits digital video.

This cable will solve that conundrum by allowing the audio from the PC to go to a home theater system that has the Red/White (also called the L/R or R/L, I don't recall) port to be connected. Just hook up the black 3.5 mm jack to the PC audio-out and the Red/White to the sound system and the connection's done.

Some work on the home theater or flat-screen settings may need to happen. This does take some thinking of and visualisation of the setup to be done, preferably before any work's done. Once it's done, you've got an internet TV setup w/o buying any special electronics besides the PC, flat-screen and maybe the home theater sound system.'
