Commentary On Romans - christianity, bible study

For those unfamiliar with Wright's "______ for Everyone" series, they are a series of commentaries on the New Testament books by Bishop Wright based on his extensive historical scholarship. He provides his own translation (based on his study of the source languages) which is a very engaging paraphrase. The text is divided up into chronological topic-based segments, followed by a 2-3 page sermonette/commentary based on that section.

In this volume, which covers chapters 1-8 of Romans, Wright illuminates the complexities of Paul's discussion of how the law magnifies our sin, like a slide projector magnifies a tiny slide, and how these preliminary chapters illustrate the Jews' relationship with the law, and how Jesus fulfills the law. Our appropriation of Jesus' faithful fulfillment of the law is what constitutes "justification" - i.e. "being declared to be in the right" at the final judgment. Our confidence and trust in that future event is what constitutes "faith" in the present time, as this confidence and trust begins to shape our daily lives. Wright explains Paul's analogy of being in Christ as like a marriage - a legal status in which we learn to act in our new role, whether we "feel" married or different or not. What we are obedient to, whether obedience itself or to sin, reveals to whom we really belong.

Throughout, Wright reveals some interesting insights:

1. In first-century judicial procedure, it was customary to cover one's mouth when finished testifying - and if the authorities felt you were lying or babbling, they would "stop your mouth" for you - which is explains a reference to mouths being stopped in Rom. 3:9-20, as well as why the soldier struck Jesus in the mouth at his trial.

2. Rom. 2:29's reference to getting praise reveals that although Paul was writing in Greek he was thinking in Hebrew - Wright says that the reference to praise is tied in with the name for "Judah" in Hebrew meaning praise.

3. Wright makes a beautiful analogy of Rom. 8 as being like an opening rosebud, describing the "becauses" of the original language, like nesting dolls unfolding and showing us why there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, and the fourfold "no one" to condemn, for which it ends. We stand, Wright says, like the woman taken in adultery (John 8), with "no one" to condemn as Jesus tells us to go and sin no more.

When you start reading this be sure to have Volume Two at hand as you will want to continue right on with it. Paul for Everyone: Romans, Part One (For Everyone)

Wright's prose here is accessible, deceptively simple, and effective in delivering the age-old brand new story of Romans to a modern audience. The narrative of Pauline theology gets a fresh breath from under the clutter of excesses seen throughout Christian literature. Though not straying too far from the tree, Wright does shake things up. For those looking for a faithful, and yet disarming, take on Romans you need look no further.

N.T. Wright is, of course, an exponent of the "new perspective" on Paul. As one whose Christian faith is pretty deeply rooted in the "old" perspective, I approach Wright (known in my son's excellent Christian school as "N.T. Wrong") with some skepticism. He is, however, a believing Christian who has rescued Paul from the distortions of liberal scholars such as A.N. Wilson. His thought is not a product of that odd mix of circular reasoning and psychological projection that has passed for "higher" Biblical criticism in the West for 200 years. I am happy to report that this lay commentary can be read by an old perspectivist with pleasure and gratitude. Wright reopened by eyes and heart to two aspects of Romans that can too easily be forgotten by one steeped in the traditional reading: first, Romans is about how God's covenant with Israel is fulfilled and extended to all the peoples of the world by the death and resurrection of Christ the Messiah; second, Paul not only instructs us to be grateful for God's free grace in dealing with our sin through Christ, but also exhorts us to lead changed lives through the power of the Spirit. The traditional reader's "blessed assurance" can too easily become complacency, and one resting in justification by faith can too easily neglect the call, and the power, to turn from sin. I am not saying that Wright has converted me to the new perspective. I can't read Paul's text and believe that he is not talking about how an individual gets right with God, while at the same time explicating how the Gentiles can be admitted to the true "Israel". Indeed, I come away from Romans marvelling at how these two themes are harmonious and intertwined, two sides of the same proverbial coin. However, notwithstanding Wright, I am quite sure that the most important message of Romans is that our sin is imputed to Christ, and his righteousness to us, through God's free grace and our faith, whether we are Jew or Gentile. By wrongly insisting that the Greek word usually translated "righteousness" instead be translated as "covenant faithfulness" or "covenant justice" or some other "covenant" compound, he deprives Romans of its central message, which is aimed at the individual heart. This is a great error, one that directs a reader away from the true meaning of Romans, and potentially away from saving faith. Wright is unconvincing in other respects as well; the idea that the "I" in Romans 7 (unlike the "I" in Romans 6 and 8) is not Paul, but Israel, ignores both the text of Romans 7 itself and the seamless bridge it forms between chapters 6 and 8. In sum, Wright is well worth reading, but with this and all his books, the old adage applies with force: Take the best, leave the rest.

Bishop Tom Wright's Romans for Everyone is the finest, most challenging exposition of Romans available today. Regardless of where you are on the denominational spectrum--from Pentacostal to Roman Catholic-Tom Wright's Bible studies are amazing. His use of contemporary examples bring what for many Christians is "old stuff" to life again. You thought you knew Romans (or any of his other New Testament bible studies)? Well you will find yourself saying many times over: "I never knew that!!" You will not be disappointed - Christianity - Bible Study - Anglican - Tom Wright'

Health And Fitness - fitness, exercise

I bought this jump rope four months ago for the warming up routine at my kickboxing class, and it has worked wonderfully. By that I mean that it is not broken (something that unfortunately happens a lot with jump ropes), and that it allows me to do different kinds of drills, from beginner to advanced, without trouble. This jump rope is not heavy, its price is ok, and it looks nice, something that shouldn't matter but does :)

Lots of pros, and only one con: if you hit your arms with this rope while you are doing speed jump rope drills, it hurts, and it hurts a lot. My advise? Wear a long sweatshirt or something else that covers your arms until you get used to new exercises.

All in all, recommended. Valeo Neon Jump Rope - Red - Skipping Rope - Exercise - Speed Rope - Fitness'

Moving Comfort Maia Bra - full figure, sports bras

I love this bra! I have had several of these in different sizes, pre-kids post-baby etc and they have always held up well. I hate to bounce and I am usually a 34c and refuse to be "that girl" jogging down the street getting black eyes from her chest flopping all over, yeah you know what I mean. Plus gravity will do enough damage I don't need to help it out. This bra keeps everything in place and secure. The straps have velcro but it is not irritating and hold tight plus I like the adjustable back. It gives full coverage and is deceptively attractive. The straps don't dig in. It does use a bit of compression to hold the girls in place but it is not uncomfortable in any way. In fact it slims your side so if you are a golfer or just like have a bigger range in movement this works great. It also lasts forever and unlike bras that use spandex, this bra does not loose shape. Champion Jogbra Action-Shape Sports Bra Womens Bra Sz 40-42 C/D

As I just bought two more Action Shape bras, I was compelled to write about how much I love them...

A little over 10 years ago, my sister turned me on to them. Genetically, we're predisposed to big bustlines, which has its advantages and disadvantages - one of the latter trying to find bras that fit and support and still look good. I've tried many, many other sports bras (trying to find one from the $20 range that works) and none of the other compare - the racerback types don't give me enough support - other 'high compression' bras create that oh-so-unattractive 'uniboob' look; underwire sports bras have a very short life - they're a pain to keep washed and it doesn't take long for the underwire to pop out of the underarm area (ouch - always seemed to happen during a heavy workout!), et cetera.

The Champion Action Shape takes care of ALL of that. There is enough separation where this looks fine even wearing under a shirt (I've even been able to wear this bra under a blouse or sweater if I'm planning on going horseback riding after work). The straps and fasteners are totally adjustable. The bra is mostly cotton, there might be some lycra or polyester there but I'm a cotton freak - no itchiness, no seams that chafe, and best of all NO UNDERWIRE! It's totally supportive - as I mentioned, I ride horseback (this trumps the popular rider's "No Bounce Bra" that sells for over $50 and has a ton of hooks - like a corset - UGH), and am also a gym rat, doing high-impact aerobics, weight training, Spinning, Pilates and yoga - this bra is EMINENTLY suitable for all those activities. Care is easy - just toss it in the washer and dryer or air dry (I generally airdry as the hooks have a tendency to get caught in the 'holes' in the dryer). And they look GOOD. I just wear this as a top on its own.

BTW Champion has come out with a new color this year - Champion RED. I just got it and it looks AWESOME!

HIGHLY recommended!

The price of this "Champion Action-Shape" full figure sports bra, seemed a bit high to me at first glance, but it had everything I was looking for, so I went ahead and ordered it. I think now that I will defintely get a lot of wear and my money's worth from it.The first thing is I love the comfort of a sports bra, but didn't always like the "appearance" it presented. This one solved that problem.Even with close fitting tops, it gives just the right look. Some other nice features include maximum support for fuller sizes and any kind of physical activity,it's lined with an inner bra and has a "CoolMax" rib band(for moisture control), and it hooks closed in the back but also has an extra closure snap in the back(adjustable to your comfort)for a touch more support(that may also be helpful for posture). The straps are also very comfortable, moves easily with you, it's got a great look, seems durable and is machine washable. After washing and drying(on low), it was just slightly more snug then before.I like it!(What's not to like?)...you NEED this!....Happy Shopping...Laurie

I have 2 of these bras that I have had I think since they first came out and they are still as supportive since the day that I got them. This is by far the best sports bra there is out there. I am a runner and have always been bigger busted and this bra does the trick, no bouncing. It is well worth the money. They last forever and I wash and dry them and still years later they are still great!!!!!

I'm a 34DD equestrian and runner training for my first half marathon. I highly recommend this bra.

It is better than the extreme Shock Absorber that I had before. It holds up better in washing and has virtually no bounce when running or horseback riding. The only bad thing I can say is that the overlay snap in the back comes undone all the time but that could be because I went a size smaller than I normally wear. My favorite thing about this bra, besides the great support, is that the band is snug but it still has enough stretch to not cause heartburn or pain across your sternum, or difficulty breathing. These are problems I had with the Shock Absorber.

Anyway, I've have trouble finding a bra with no bounce, and I will be sticking with this one from now on.

This is a wonderful bra with excellent support! I have a difficult time finding a bra that gives me enough support, and that I don't have to pull on and off over my head. (That's tough to do when you're all sweaty from working out!) Enjoy!

I am a 36 DD, and have a very hard time finding sports bras that actually work. No pull over the head ones for me. I am a horseback rider and 5 day a week runner, and play tennis and soccer, so I need a bra that will hold everything in place, no bouncing down the street. I had found this bra years ago in the mall and loved it, I bought 5. They lasted years with heavy wear. I had trouble finding them again however, as the stores in the mall no longer carried them. I tried a few other bras in the meantime, but none of them could compare to this one. Even my old worn out champion bras were better than any new ones I tried. I was so happy to find them online, and at half the price! For big busted women who want as little movement as possible, this is the only bra for you! I will never buy another type. - Moving Comfort - Sports Bra - Full Figure - Sports Bras'

Excellent Product - portable table saw, extensions

The outfeed support is a handy thing to have on a table saw. The only problem that I have encountered in useing it is that flexible materials like thin plywood tend to flex between the saw and the outfeed support and hit the support instead of going on top of it. This problem can be fixed by using a peice of scrap as a 'brige' to help the material make it onto the suport. Bosch TS1002 Table Saw Rear Outfeed Support Extension

After reading some of the poor reviews for this product I had some reservations. When I unpacked and assembled the extention I soon discovered the problems others had described.1st the miter guide slots don't align with the notches in the extention.2nd the sliding rails are too far apart, one owner had elongated the mounting holes to address this. The actual problem is in the illustrations in the instructions! The pictures of the model 4000 saw and the 4001 saw are reversed.Simply mount one bracket facing outward[the one with the lock knob]and the other facing inward,as pictured for the model 4001,and the extention fits and operates smoothly! Perhaps BOSCH should correct the instructions instead of agreeing they had made a manufacturing error to appease a dissatisfied customer. I hope this helps others who encounter this problem.

Bolts on easily. Supports well after the cross bar is redrilled to align the support with the table. It is 1/2" low to the table when at full extension. Only one thumbscrew included for locking position but both brackets are drilled and tapped for it.

Must be careful when cutting 4x8 sheets as the saw can tip with this support at full extension and the board hanging off it.

Not sure why the outfeed is almost 1/2 the price of the left side support, but its you're going to drop the money for the saw, this is a must have accessory. Its solidly built and exudes quality, just as all Bosch tools do.

I didn't have a problem with the retaining clips being too large, as an earlier reviewer noted. I guess Bosch caught this mixup and remedied it.

If you own a Bosch 4000, you'll want to add this outfeed support. Saves you from performing a precarious balancing act when cutting long stock; improves quality of cut and enhances safety. A lot of value added for a relatively low price. Installs and operates easily and only increases the saw's storage footprint by a small fraction (adds approx. 4" at back of table, not much wider than the footprint of the Gravity Rise stand).

If you mount the extension according to the instructions, the miter bar is

blocked from extending past the table edge as the slots in the extension

are in the wrong place; it is necessary to mount the extension backwards

so that the slots in the extension line up with the slots in the table; I

contacted Bosch about this error and they agreed that it has to be mounted

backwards to the table. Unfortunately this means that the piece sticks

out from the side and if the extension is pushed completely back into the

table, the guide bar is blocked. I'm surprised that Bosch does not correct

this manufacturing/design error.

Excellent idea, but it rubs on my new 4100 Bosch Saw, and is scratching it pretty good. Also, when the support is closed, it will hit the digitial carriage (read out display). If you want to dock it (magnetically secure) the display you have to pull out the support a bit. Again, I like the idea, but it needs a lttle refinement for the fit on the actual table saw.

I had the saw for about a year when I bought this extension and the rear one.

You may have read this same review for the side extension but here goes anyway.

The saw has tapped holes ready for Both of them, they mount independently and work very well.

The illustration shows them both in a with rails in a vertical position which makes hard for a left handed person to visualize how they support the work. Of course for the less challenged you could automatically tell that they were mount to the underside of the table and slide out for use. My brain was trying to see how these legs could support it from the floor...duh!

Anyway, if you work alone (which you shouldn't of course!!!) they are a godsend. - Portable Table Saw - Portable - Bosch - Extensions'

Under Armour - neck warmers, neck gaiter

I bought this apparel for jogging in the colder climate of Kansas City, MO. It is a continuous piece of material, so does not have any velcro on the back or anything. It has adequate extension for me down the neck to go under a shirt a little, but it does not extend upwards enough to cover the ears. It has a mesh type of material around the mouth with does accumulate a little condensation. Chaos Hats Chinook Micro Fleece Neck Gaiter (Black, Large/X-Large)

This face mask is the best I've had! I have had alot of mask to protect you from the wind and either they fog up your glasses, or they dont cover your ears or yadda yadda; NO problems with this one! It does cover your ears, just gotta pull it up far enough, lol.

This product does exactly what I expected it to do. I bike to and from work every day in the city and needed something to protect my face from the cold wind. I have used it for a few days now and can say that it doesn't slide down your face and it keeps the cold wind away. The only thing I would change would be to extend the fabric on the sides to cover my ears. Since the mask rests on your nose and doesn't block your vision it is not high enough to cover your ears. This product was only meant to protect your face and neck though so it is not like they failed to deliver in that aspect. Overall 4/5, I hope that as I continue to wear it every day it won't stretch out and start to fall off my face.

I really made a great decision purchasing this neck gaiter. I used this for Airsoft in a very hot environment, thus I initially believed I would be uncomfortable using this as facial protection. I was later surprised when I learned that this product not only breathed well, it also consisted of incredibly strong material. When pellets inevitably struck the fleece, it reflected off my face and I barely felt anything. The integrity of this product is outstanding, and can be used in hot or cold environments. I would definitely purchase from Chaos Hats again (it's worthy to note, however, that actual color of the fleece may vary).

Purchased to wear while riding a motorcycle with a half helmet. The warmth and wind blocking do work well. However it does not want to stay in place around the nose. Maybe a smaller size would have worked better. For an inexpensive product, it is a good buy. - Gaiter - Neck Warmers - Neck Gaiter - Cold Gear'

Coffee Warmer - warmer, hair removal

I purchased this warmer quite some time back (not at Amazon) and it was excellent. But I MUST share a secret I learned about this...sorry Parissa company but the fact is that if you buy one of those "coffee warmers" from Walmart, it does the EXACT SAME THING. Then it occurred to me, it IS the same thing. I compared the two items side-by-size and they are alike in every way. The size is exactly the same, the plug looked the same, was mounted in the same place on the unit, etc... The one difference was that the Parissa item says "Parissa" on it, and the coffee warmer from Walmart does not. I just thought you should be aware that this is a commonly available product, in case yours burns out and you need to replace it quicker than quick. You might even be able to buy one of those coffee warmers right here on amazon... Wax Warmer - 1 pc,(Parissa)

As mentioned by the other reviewers, this product needs time to heat up. If you give it about an hour, it will work fine. I bought this warmer mainly to keep the wax warm while I was working with it, so I popped my wax in the microwave for a few seconds (after waiting 30 minutes for the warmer to heat it up on it's own) and the warmer kept it at the right temperature while I was waxing.

I agree with my fellow reviewer, this is a good warmer if you're willing to give it enough time to warm up. It takes at least 45 minutes to warm up if you use the Parissa wax, so make sure you plan ahead. But, it does control the temperature well, and it's light and easy to store without being flimsy.

If you give this warmer enough time it's a very good product. Mind you, it takes about an hour and a half to get the wax to the right temperature but it is just right and stays just right. Very important if you're waxing..!

If you are going to get the Parissa wax, get the warmer. It's too much of a pain to warm the wax over a gas burner.

So it takes awhile to melt the wax. Start melting the wax and go work on the computer for awhile. In this day and age, I think that we can all find something to do while we wait.

The wax is fantastic. I was without my warmer in the states (it was back in Mexico), and it took me just as long to melt the wax appropriately over a gas burner anyway, and it was a bigger pain. Melting the wax inappropriately and faster is not better.

So get the warmer, and melt your wax the right way.

This is the same thing as a mug warmer or candle warmer. The instructions even say "mug warmer." I saw some on sale at Michael's craft store for just $3 or $4. I wouldn't care too much about the price, except my tin of wax (Cirepil) was too big to fit on the heating plate. I think Gigi wax tins are the same size.

This is a great warmer with a price at a fraction of the others I considered - I'm so glad that I chose it. Yes, it does take time to warm up - simply start it 45 minutes to one hour before you plan to use the wax. For me, that is no big deal for getting a great warmer at this price. Thanks Amazon and Parissa!

The warmer takes awhile to heat the wax to a usable temperature (45 minutes) but once it is warmed up the wax stays at an ideal temperature. This product has made my home waxing sessions so much easier, no more running back and forth to the microwave, less wax wasted when it gets too thick to spread well.

For the casual home waxer this is a great product for the price.

I purchased the Parissa wax and wanted the wax warmer. I'm pleased with my purchase. I suppose you could purchase a regular wax warmer and get the same results. However, this one is just fine for me. It melts the wax without getting it too hot. I don't worry about burning myself with wax that's too hot. It takes a while to melt but that ensures its not too hot.

I bought this instead of getting a Gigi wax warmer because it was much cheaper. It took about 30 min to get the wax at the right consistency, it made waxing a breeze. I like how its not big and bulky so it doesn't take up a lot of space. I am very happy with this warmer, hope it lasts me a long time. - Hair Removal - Body Wax - Warmer - Coffee Warmer'

Dual Car Adapter - car accessories, useful

I received the item very quickly as promised, no worries there. used the device for 1 week and 1 of the 2 sides stopped working. I did receive an email from the seller after advising my situation, I was impressed by the fast response. this may or may not have been a factory defect. Bottom line, is the unit broke, for whatever reason. Two-Way 12V DC Car Charger Cigar Cigarette Lighter Double Power Adapter Socket Splitter, Black / DUAL SPLITTER / UNIVERSAL for suitable for cell phone, GPS, iPod, and PDA (ALL Cell Phone Models such as Apple iPhone , Acer, Asus, Audiovox, Blackberry, Casi

This dual charger is OK for the low amp charging jobs like GPS, Bluetooth and Cellphone auto charging. However, give it a bigger job like an 8 amp draw mini moto air pump (for pumping air into the tires) and it blew this 12 Volt Two Way DC Car Charger into a smelly mess (along with my cig lighter fuse). FYI-The Scosche 12 volt twin adapter is the same as this one.

I got this product to charge my phone, use an FM transmitter and use a GPS system in any order. I have not had any problems of the unit overloading like the other reviewers have described. I would just use caution before plugging in anything that draws a lot of power. One thing you need to consider is that it may need to be positioned vertically as in my car it blocks the stick shift. But not a big deal. Overall a good deal and get the job done.

i like this device. I like the slow charge capability. and it does indeed reduce the output if 2 items are being charged. That said, the idea is fantastic. My problem is that the device keeps popping out of the cigarette outlet. All of a sudden I notice that my Garmin is on battery or my bluetooth is not charging, etc. Wish it were more solid into the charge slot.

A simple and easy to use 12 Volt splitter. Used it to power my GPS/FM Transmitter or GPS/recharge my phone/PSP and it works perfectly.

Other customers complained that their splitters went bust while using trying to use it with electric pumps, and this is why I bough a couple of them at once, but I think with my phone/GPS/mp3 player/PSP I'm safe. If I'll need to recharge my laptop I'll pb just plug it straight in the trunk as there's a 12V outlet.

Build quality could be a little better, but considering the price, it's ok.

ok so i don't know why they even make this thing. i deliver pizzas and was using it so i can keep my gps plugged in as well as my car topper sign. within 2 minutes the whole device started smoking, burning itself and the fuse with it. i read reviews that it doesn't work with high powered the like an air pump but common... a gps and a few lights to light up a pizzahut sign... don't buy this.

This product does what it says it does. I use it to play my fm transmitter and charge my GPS at the same time. It does both easily. No problems. Only thing that surprised me about the product was the size. This device probably sticks out 2 inches from the lighter and then the items plugged into it also extend two inches each. I have a Grand AM and so my lighter is right in front of my emergency break. Everything plugged in barely fits in the space, and only with quite a bit of finagling. Just keep the size in mind when you purchase the item. - Cheap - Car Accessories - Car Adapter - Useful'

Ghost Hunters - game camera, photography

This is by far the best camera I have used. I have both a stealth cam and a moultrie, and the truth cam takes much better pictures, (especially at night...the 60 LED's really light everything up) and the set up is very easy. I have had the truth cam 60 out in the mountains (in very cold weather) for about 3 months and the battery still shows 50%. I love it, and will definitely buy another one. Primos Truth Cam 60 Camera

I purchased one of these about 2 months ago.

Pros: Takes great daytime shots. Only triggers when something is in front of it. Sturdy construction. Long infrared range (with fresh batteries).

Cons: Sub par nighttime shots (very grainy). Goofy rubber boot over sd slot. Missing most usefull timeout settings (5, 10, 15?) and pics per trigger (2). Lousy buckling system (could not tighten strap).

I nearly returned because of the nighttime quality(you can see what is there, you're just not going to be framing any of the shots), but decided the quality of the triggering made it worth keeping. First camera I've had with no false triggers, EVER! Nearly double the infrared range of the Bushnell trophy cam. The timeout settings is not that big of deal. Have it set at one minute. 5 or 15 would cut down on a lot of the shots of the same squirrel or turkeys though. The rubber boot over the sd card slot works, just seems like it might fall off after a while, and it's on the bottom of the camera, so it's always wet after any rain or snow. I don't know why game cam manufacturers can't make a decent mounting system. The adjustable side of the buckle would not hold the strap at all unless I inverted it so the strap bound against itself (not easy to adjust like that). The slots are too big for the strap and there are no grippers and the angles are wrong. I replaced with a generic buckle from my local Fleet Farm (in the camping section), and that holds the strap perfect. And has any of them ever heard of elastic or bungee? That would make things a lot easier. All in all, a pretty good camera. Could have been a great camera though, with a few modifications.

I own several trail cameras and upon taking this one out of the box and setting it up I was pretty impressed. The LCD menu is very easy to navigate to setup the camera, it has rubberized covers that go over the memory card slot to keep moisture out, when activating the camera on the trail it provides a 30 second countdown timer which is a great feature, the pictures even tell you what the temperature was outside when the image was taken. The problem that I had with this camera is after leaving it on a trail for 2 days, upon my return I found the memory card nearly full with over 2,000 photos, apparently taken anytime a twig moved in the wind, and the batteries drained down to 35%. No animals were captured, just wind. I'm going back out to adjust the sensitivity levels to low (and install new batteries) and will post a reply to this review if that helps or not.

I got this for Christmas this year. I don't have a lot of experience with trail cams, but I will say that the setup for this was simple and fast. Took about 10 minutes of reading and setup. It was very intuitive.

I had pictures within hours.

The quality of the pics were OK, but not fantastic.

If there was one downside, I'm not sure why they did not through in an SD card. I had to go out and get one ASAP.

I use this to capture the construction in progress on my property - it does EXACTLY as you would expect it to. I have it hanging on a tree and there is easy access to replace the batteries and sd card - by using the picture instead of video format - the batteries are lasting longer and it does not fail to pick up whatever has triggered it's motion sensor, as I have these pictures taken unattended. Once I'm on site, I know the video portion will work as well - a friend of mine used this product and talked me into it - they use the video portion to catch the wild-life and it does a wonderful job as I've seen their posted videos. I'm extremely happy with this product.

Did much research before buying this camera.Have been using the camera now for one month and getting good results. I use the sensitive setting and it will pickup a squirrel or raccoon at 15 to 20feet. Difficult to read the screen during daylight.I am using the video option. I throw dog food in front of the camera and even the deer stop to investigate.

Satisfied so far.

Very easy to use, didn't need the instruction manual for set up, by using the default setting already on the camera, when you push a button the camera responds (not like my Cuddy Back). The manual is very helpful to give the different setting, and what they do, for extra battery life etc. Do not think the little clunk when taking a picture will be any factor at all. Very good camera for the price. Same as any camera, the pictures vary due to light conditions.

I bought this remote camera for my wife for Christmas. After reading many reviews of assorted other cameras, I decided to go with the camera that had the least amount of 1's or 2's from other reviewers. Also I wanted one at a price point that met our needs. This camera seems to take very good pics. Most of the pics we have retrieved have been daytime pics. The few nighttime pics were very good ---the LED'S do the job. The only reason I went with 4 stars is because the display on front is very faded and difficult to read. The info on the pics is great---Day,time,temp&moon phase. One feature that every camera should have is a USB port to transfer the pics to a jump drive instead of buying another card for the camera. Seems like a no brainer but there is no perfect anything. This camera is , however, a handy camera. Could also be used for security camera for outside the house at a very affordable price. Great idea and very useful for many purposes. - Primos - Photography - Wildlife Camera - Game Camera'

Nursing Cover - modest, maternity

Bought these when I had my first baby. I can't say much more than this is all I wear. I have 3 and I rotate them. I need 6 more to be honest. When I'm home, I slip something over it if its too cold, and when time to feed I slip the over shirt/sweater/sweatshirt off, and feed. No walking around my house in winter wearing only my bra, no changing all the time. Best investment I made. I bought the bras that do the same thing and I prefer the tank instead. Gilligan & O'Malley® Womens Full Sling Long Nursing Tank - Black XXL

I got 3 of these after the birth of my baby. Pros: good room in chest area, I am at least a DD (36) & the large is comfortable, functional for nursing, length is great & there is room for a belly.

Cons: pretty low cut, only reason I won't give 5 stars.

Ordrering from amazon was the way to go. Sizes at Target stores & online were limited.

I'm so pleased with the fit of this tank; when I can afford to buy more, I will! The clasps are as easy to work as the ones on my Gillian O'Malley nursing bras, and the fit is nice and long over my belly.

I've had a lot of trouble finding the right nursing bra and tank. My cup size increased a lot after baby was born and I live over-seas, in a country of small chested Asians! This tank has been great to keep my tummy covered and allow me to nurse in more public places. My only complaint is that I still feel like I need more support. The length is awesome!

I really like these tanks- however, this was a bit different than the one I had purchased at the store (of the same brand).

Maybe I didn't read close enough but this one only has minor support on the inside- the one I got at the store had much more support in the bra portion.

Otherwise the tank is great- super easy to unhook and rehook with one hand.

Only other caveat- if you have lost some or most of your baby weight the tanks are super long and a bit baggy- great right after you have the baby but not as good 6 mos later!

Super comfortable and handle being washed often well!

Doesn't offer much support. I should have known better than to assume it would, but for any woman with larger breasts, you will need to wear a separate (read: better) bra underneath. Also, the tank itself is strangely baggy in the midsection, even though I am not a really thin woman. It almost seems like it would be better suited as a maternity tank, it is that baggy. The Medela nursing tanks are better, although they are much pricier. However, even with a bigger chest, I can get away with just the support from the Medela tank, NOT something I can do with this one.

Very comfortable and has a great built in bra. I'm still pregnant and it stretches over my belly just fine. After washing and drying it goes right back down to size so i will definitely be able to wear it while nursing after pregnancy. - Modest - Nursing Cover Up - Maternity - Nursing'

Freud Planer Knives

I bought a set of these using a amazon $20 gift certificate so I thought I would be getting a great deal. The knives I received were so dull I could run my fingers across them length wise and not even start to cut my skin. I returned them and ended up being charged for the return shipment. No bargan here. I ended up with no knives and being out $10.00 I don't know if this was just a bad set or they had been damaged at some point as they were out of their Freud box but still wrapped in the protective paper inside the Amazon box. I will be buying a set of Amana from a local supplier. They will cost more but at least I know that they will be sharp. Freud C012 12-Inch x 7/8-Inch x 1/8-Inch Planer Knives - 3-Piece Set

I ordered Freud co12 planer knives they came 12inch long not 13inch like the ads says. I called Freud Mfg. they said they don't make a 13"x7/8"x1/8" planer knives just 12inch long in that size.'

Cell Phone Organizer - cell phone organizer, charger caddy

We have had this charging station for about 6 months or so, and we don't use it anymore. It is one more thing to clutter up our counter. The reasons we don't use it? 1. If you have a device in which the charger plugs into the side, it does not lay in the valet nicely because the slots are too narrow. The valet was designed more for items that have chargers in the bottom. 2. Despite the multiple outlets on the power strip and three slots for charging items, we have never been able to charge more than two at a time because most charger plugs are large and cover up adjacent outlets. So, in order to use it, you have get the power strip out, plug in and thread whichever charger you need, tuck the power strip back into the bottom. If you need to charge something else, repeat. Way too much hassle - just easier to have the chargers in a kitchen drawer to pull out when needed. 3. Getting the power strip in and out is a pain - not very easy once you have things plugged into it.

Only reason I gave this 2 stars instead of 1 is because I like how the top flips open so that you can line everything up easier.

Overall, this product does not deliver what it advertises. Simply Put Deluxe Charging Station, Cherry Finish (9541-6)

It's a little big but not bad. The finish is only pretend cherry but looks OK for what it is. Mine had the fake leather glued in poorly but I was able to press it down, we'll see if that lasts I doubt it.

This unit has a couple of glaring problems:

1: The power strip will only take two wall warts. The plugs are just too close together. If they were rotated 90 degrees you could install three of the new type supplies but certainley no more. Notice in the picture none of the devices shown are plugged in. You could use the short strip savers shown in the 'buy with' section, but that's a 'buy me' to use this box.

2: The power cord is too short. Be ready to use a three prong extension chord, another 'buy me'. - Charger Station - Valet - Cell Phone Organizer - Charger Caddy'

Computer Accessories - belkin, mouse pads

I'm not really a connoisseur of mouse pads. I think this is the first one I've ever paid for. But, it seems to be the best mouse pad I've had. Works great with our optical mouse, and it's not too thick or too thin.

I'm not sure that a mouse pad deserve much more of a review than that. Belkin F8E089-BLK 8-by-9-Inch Mouse Pad (Black)

This is very basic mouse pad. It's perfectly function and has a good mousing surface. However, it positively reeks of rubber. It smells strongly enough that you notice it when sitting next to it at your work station, and it permeates your hand while using it. Expect your mousing hand to smell like cheap tires or, in my opinion, somewhat like old cigarette smoke after using it for any length of time. It is difficult to wash the odor away.

size is 7.5" x 9" and just about 1/4" thick, heavy enough to stay put (not too big and not too small). Previous cheap pad I had was about 3 yrs old, fairly dirty looking. This new pad is noticeably smoother, decent non slip rubber bottom. Not much else to say about a basic pad, except for the low price. If this is all you want to pay, it should make most people happy, I am. Plus, I like the black, hides the dirt better, now I can keep this one longer, until the dirt is so thick where the surface becomes wavy, before replacing.

The Belkin F8E089-BLK 8-by-9-Inch Mouse Pad (Black) is the first mouse pad I have purchased in a decade or so, and it is the only one I have ever had that actually worked well with optical mice. Occasionally, it will not track correctly, and I have to give the mouse an extra nudge, but so far this has been a rare occurrence. The only problem I have had was that the mouse pad reeked of chemicals (the rubber bottom?) when I removed it from the box, but that has almost entirely dissipated. If I put my nose next to it I can still detect the smell, though. Someone with a sensitive nose might be bothered.

I just bought this mouse pad a few days ago...

The GOOD:

The pad is well made. The thickness is just right (3/16"), and the slightly rough cloth surface texture is good. It seems durable, without any fraying at the edges like a lot of other mouse pads.

The BAD:

The rubber at the bottom smells terrible, and it's relatively strong. (Go smell your car tires right after a long drive when they're hot). After a few hours of using the mouse pad, the odor made me slightly nauseous, and it stayed on my fingers for a while. I'm hoping the smell dissipates after a few days, otherwise I'll be going back to my old mouse pad.

So, it's tough to give an overall rating. If you don't mind the smell, it's a great mouse pad, and deserves 4-5 stars. If the smell does bother you, you may stop using it altogether. - Belkin - Mousepad - Mousepads - Mouse Pads'

Garage Door - garage door opener, remote controls

I needed to be able to open 2 different makes of garage doors at different locations. One is a Genie Opener, the other one a Chamberlain. I didn't like the idea of having a bunch of garage door remotes littering my sun visor, so I thought I'd give this a try. This (and the KLIK1U) were the only remote openers I have determined to work across multiple brands. This particular one looks smaller than the KLIK1U, but the buttons are still big and easy to use. It was very easy to program this remote to both openers, (mine both have the learn button, not the dip switches, but this remote can also apparently be used on the older dip style switch openers as well) and I am extremely happy this one remote works both doors now. If you have lost a remote, this one seems like it will do the trick across most of the major brands, and across an extremely wide variety of Years of Manufacture. I bought one even though I needed two, so I could see if the product lived up to what it says it does. Well, just bought my second one as well! Liftmaster 375LM Remote Clicker Universal Remote

I ordered this remote for under $11 (about $15 with shipping). I read bad reports, but I didn't find them to be accurate. It too a few seconds to program the remote, and it works well from the end of my driveway (about 150 feet). I'd highly recommend it, especially for the price.

Product works as described. I'm using it with my new LiftMaster Garage Door Opener and an older door opener at work that requires the dip switches.

The range is not as good on my Garage Door Opener as compared with the remote that came with the unit.

Bought two of these universal remotes for a home that we recently purchased. It was a foreclosure and the original remotes were not available. Programming was a breeze and the price was much better than I've seen at other online and retail stores. Would definitely purchase again.

This multi-function remote is easy to program and can be used for a wide variety of opener types, both rolling code and dp switch systems. Its compact size fits perfectly behind a sun visor. The large buttons are easy to use in the dark.

Ordered this remote to replace a barely year old Sears Craftsman remote that had grown so weak that it would not open the door from inside the car (yes, I replaced the battery). It was easy to program and seems to have good range. I think the Arizona heat killed the old one, we'll see how this one holds up. So far it seems a good value at about half the price of a comparable Sears unit. Excellent delivery with standard shipping, only took 5 days. - Garage Door Opener - Remote Controls - Liftmaster - Remote'
