Garmin Gps - leather case, case

This is a very nice case as other reviewers have mentioned. Perfect for my nuvi 760 The Amazon page doesn't mention it, but this case will fit several different models of the Garmin nuvi. The package lists any of the following as compatible:

nüvi 200W

nüvi 205W

nüvi 250W

nüvi 255W

nüvi 260W

nüvi 265W

nüvi 265WT

nüvi 710

nüvi 750

nüvi 760

nüvi 770

nüvi 780

nüvi 850

nüvi 855

nüvi 860

nüvi 880

nüvi 885T Garmin 4.3-Inch Premium Carrying Case with Flap

My Nuvi 760 is fairly pricey, so worth protecting. The case does a good job though I'd be a bit concerned about dropping it so a corner hits a hard surface (not going to test to see if my concern is valid). It slides in easily and stays shut securely. The person on here who complained the switch was moved by the casemust have been using it backwards (there's a well done relief for the switch if the Nuvi is inserted properly). Product construction quality and appearance is good -- not unsightly in any setting. A small improvement might have been to include an ID holder so if accidently left somewhere, the owner could easily be found.

I had already purchased a Lowepro camera case to protect my Nuvi 760 - it works, but is awfully bulky. I was intrigued by the Garmin case which I had not run across before and I took a chance on ordering it. I'm glad I did, the case is one of the best I have ever seen of manufacturer-sold cases, most of which are pretty shabby. The 760 slides nicely and firmly into the sleeve with the power switch and headphone jack accessible when closed. When open, the screen is fully visible.

The flap holds securely with two magnets and there is a belt-loop on the back, though why, I don't know.

I am particularly pleased by the protection this case offers - the edges and corners are rigid and spaced out a bit from the Nuvi and the front and back are also well-protected.

My first impression of this case was that it's kinda bulky, compared to the other Garmin case. But after observing how my 5-year-old daughter likes to play with the MP3 feature on the Nuvi 760, I' feel more at ease knowing that this cover will do a better job at protecting the unit than the other Garmin case (which acts only as a housing). It's well designed and has pretty good leather material for the price.

7/5/08 - WARNING!! Beware if you buy the other Garmin case. The Nuvi 660 comes with that other case and my brother just had his Nuvi slipped right out of the case, causing the screen to crack. Apparently, the case had stretched over time and no longer holds a good grip. That sucks!!

This case is definitely worth the few dollars more than what you would pay for the other thin sleeve. It does add a little more bulk, but I feel good about that as I shove the thing down into my already overstuffed bag. It's very well made, and you don't have to remove the unit from the case to use it (you would have to remove it to mount it though). The touch screen and on/off slider are easily accessible while in the case. I agree with another reviewer, it would be nice to have a slot for a business card, but that's certainly not a deal breaker. I would definitely recommend this case for the Nuvi 750.

This case if awesome! The best price I could find. It closes with integrated magnets. It fits like a glove. It comes with a belt loop in case you want to use pedestrian/biking modes(garmin 760). I appreciate the protection both for the housing and screen, especially over the other cases for which I shopped around. It is sturdy, so if you want to just keep it in a gps bag, or use it by itself, it's perfect.

Fit, finish, and function. No other case achieves all 3, much less does all 3 fantastically!

It completely protects the unit on all sides. It's designed to allow you to use the unit while still in the case, and it works well in this regard.

The only way this case could be better is if it were waterproof.

Using mine with a Nuvi 760, to help clarify for anyone not clear on 700 series fit.

I'm not sure why Garmin doesn't include a case for their higher end Nuvi's, but this one definitely fits the bill. I had read reviews on other cases which seemed to imply that they were too snug. This one fits perfectly. There's storage space for extra memory cards and the magnetic cover keeps the case closed. I'd definitely recommend this product.

I bought this carrying case together with Garmin nüvi 255W 4.3-Inch Widescreen Portable GPS Navigator and it is the perfect match.

I considered caselogic first but then thought only a Garmin case would look better with Garmin GPS.

Garmin has two different types of cases - one is like a holder with no cover, so you can slide it inside. See GARMIN 010-10823-01 Leather Carrying Case For Nuvi Travel Assistant. It is very cheap and serve the basic puspose but I thought it wouldn't protect my unit the way I want to and doesn't look that sexy and elegant. Try your hands on this 800 series case and you'll love it. Its more expensive but worth it to protect and carry your GPS unit in style.

I'm loving it ;-) - Garmin Nuvi - Case - Leather Case - Garmin'

Ipod Accessories - ipod classic case, ipod accessories

The case is great for protecting your ipod from the daily scratches that you would normally get on an iPod. It comes with an outer case that molds around all of the corners, and a clear plastic piece that covers the screen exposing the click wheel. The outer shell is heavy duty, and your ipod will be able to withstand a lot of punishment, and the rubbery texture will keep it from sliding around. I put mine on my dashboard and it stays put just fine. My only complaints, and they are small complaints, are 1) The plastic front cover is easily scratched leaving small scratches that when you are viewing a video make it annoying to watch the movie through the scratches, and 2) the outer cover makes it too thick to use any of the ipod docks that are available out there. Other than those two things, it is great. Speck ArmorSkin Case for 80/120/160 GB iPod classic 6G (Black)

I purchased this with my new 7g 160gig Ipod classic. I was not sure at the time if it would fit. The information was unclear and I ended up doing a lot of research for the sizing because I did not want to deal with returns. Well it does fit. The package includes a extra rubber spacer that it says is for the 80g Ipod classic. The spacer works for the 7g as well. It makes a snug fit and the ports are centered over the holes in the case. I am not sure how long it will last as this is the first day I've had it. Just wanted to let others know it will fit the new model.

A few years back Apple sold a slim 120gb iPod Classic and a thicker 160gb iPod Classic. Now Apple only sells a slim 160gb iPod classic. This case fits the older thicker 16ogb ipod and includes a rubber insert to also fit the slim ipod classics. So, if you have a slim ipod classic, the case is bulkier (thicker) than necessary. It also DOES NOT COVER THE FLYWHEEL. It looks like a tire around your ipod. It feels rugged in your hand and does not slide around on surfaces. As with all iPod cases I have ever seen, you will need to remove it to fit in a docking station. I like it.

UPDATE

My case has stretched out over time. No longer snug fit but still works. Took about 4 months to get loose.

I love this case. It fits perfectly over my IPOD classic 7gen 160gb. The case is durable, easy to hold (with great grips) and keeps my ipod safe from scratches and damage. I've already dropped it a few times and nothing bad has happened to it. I like how the turn wheel is not covered as it gives you more flexibility to maneuver with it. Everything else fits safe and sound inside the case. You can charge the ipod or connect it to any source using the USB cable without a problem. The only minor complaint I have is you have to remove the case to effectively use the earphone jacks, but it is easy to slide on or off so that really isn't an issue for me. I looked at many different cases before deciding on this one and I'm glad I chose it!

The Speck ArmorSkin case isn't as sleek to look at as many of the thin, colorful silicone skins available, but it is exactly what I wanted and needed to protect my brand new 160 GB iPOD Classic. I drive a great deal and listen to books or music constantly through my car speakers. This case provides superior protection for the screen and body of the iPOD while leaving the controls fully accessible.

Best part is that the device stays put rather than sliding around on the seat or off of the console of the car. This same feature makes it a little more difficult to get in or out of a pocket, but well worth the trade-off.

The hard plastic shield can be replaced if it gets scratched - I've had mine several months with truly minimal scratching.

I highly recommend this case, and the Amazon price and service were great.

This case is definitely rugged. The only thing I don't like is the black rubber part doesn't fit tight to the clear plastic piece. The corners are tight, but especially along the long sides of the Ipod it doesn't fit snugly. It's not what I'd call loose, but it's just not as snug as at the corners. I was initially concerned about these loose areas snagging on my coat pockets, etc. but they don't at all. It's really more of a cosmetic thing than a performance thing.

GENERALLY, THIS IS A GOOD PRODUCT AND WILL PROTECT YOUR IPOD AGAINST SCRATCHES AND THE OCCASIONAL CLUMSY DROP.

IF YOU FREQUENTLY PUT YOUR IPOD IN A DOCK, LIKE AN IHOME OR ONE OF THE SPEAKER UNITS WITH AN IPOD SLOT, IT WON'T FIT WITH THIS THING ON IT.

THE CORDS WORK FINE WITH THE JACKET.

I got the Speck ArmorSkin Case to protect my new iPod Classic 120GB. I'm glad I did. I love the design and it's easy to grip and won't slip out of your hand. Despite the bulk of the case, it's easy to access all of the functions of your iPod. I was a bit worried about being able to access the click wheel easily but thankfully no problems there. What really made me love this case was what happened this past 4h of July. I was holding my iPod(encased in the Speck ArmorSkin) in my hand and was carrying my big, jumbo stereo boom box over my shoulder. In hindsight, carrying the two together wasn't a smart move considering what happened. The boom box though it was being carried over shoulder was a bit awkward and cumbersome for me to carry so I had trouble holding my iPod in my hand in addition I was walking down the stairs. The iPod ended up falling out of my and tumbling down metal steps and onto the concrete floor below. My heart almost sank. I thought my new iPod was destroyed. I put down the boom box, went down the stairs, took the iPod out of the case and not a scratch, shook it, no broken internal parts, turned it on, played normally and all of the other functions worked fine. The case, as well, was barely bruised. This case is awesome.

I took off a star because the plastic front cover feels a bit light and flimsy and as others have stated, it can be easily scratched. A harder plastic could've been used. Why have a tough, thick, durable rubber outer casing but skimp on the front cover?

Overall, this is a great case to protect your iPod. It's worth the investment to protect such a pricey device. - Ipod Classic - Ipod Classic Case - Ipod Accessories - Ipod Case'

Homeland Security - weather radio, same

The Reecom R-1630 is an excellent weather radio. I bought mine a few months ago after reading an exhaustive amount of reviews. As you might know by now, the Midland radios receive good reviews as well. I was about to buy one, but something kept urging me to purchase the Reecom. Now I am thrilled with my purchase. The R-1630 has all of the features you need in a weather radio, with a few exceptions. I really wish it had keyhole slots on the back so it would be possible to hang it on the wall and, even though I am not currently using it, I wish that the external "audio out" jack were not directly behind the telescoping antenna.

I love that this radio has an "end of message" feature that will return the radio to its previous status after the alarm. In other words, when the NWS issues a warning or watch, the radio will sound the alarm for eight seconds then turn on the radio (voice) so you can hear the message; at the end of the message the radio will turn off again. I never have to get up to find out what is going on. I also like that the radio will show the remaining time of the alert. For example, you can look at the screen for the latest alert, or look at the memory for previous alerts, and see the alert will expire in five hours and twenty-three minutes. This radio will be an excellent investment in your family's safety. Reecom R-1630 Weather Alert Radio

I've owned four different brands of weather radios, and I have to say that they have all done what they're supposed to do, very dependably.

This weather radio stands out for one great feature, and I've only seen it on more expensive models in the past. That feature is the auto standby mode. This lets the radio alarm as it should, and give the the verbal announcement, then go back into standby mode. It's a nice feature if the radio is in a place that's a pain to reach to cancel the alert and put it back into standby manually.

I didn't buy this radio from Amazon, but through a promotion from a local tv station - WPSD Paducah, Kentucky. You don't have to live near the station to take advantage of this promotion. Here is the address of the site where it is being offered: [...].

This is supposed to be a $60 radio on the Reecom site. Don't pay $149 for it, or even $68 - over-priced. I paid $41 for the radio plus $8 shipping, and it came very fast - in two days priority shipping. This radio has lots of features and SAME technology, also has the "defeat siren" feature (or edit siren) so that you can disable alerts that you don't want to receive in the middle of the night. Has four types of audio tones for different levels of alerts - weather statement, advisory, watch, or warning. The radio has received five alerts just today, from surrounding counties that I have programmed SAME codes into. You can get SAME codes for counties at the [...] site. I would definitely recommend buying this radio, great to have during the spring and summer months, or any time of year.

This is a great weather alert radio -- you get a lot of flexibility in terms of selecting which watches/warnings you want to get an audible warning of, and with the SAME encoding, you can set up the radio to only receive alerts for your specific county. The radio also has a set of LEDs that indicate whether there's a current advisory, watch or warning.

The radio gets good reception, and also has ports for an external antenna, for external siren/strobe, and for an external speaker/public address system. In short, the Reecom weather radio is a very capable, very flexible weather radio.

It's also reliable -- I've had mine for a couple years now and have not had any problems with it.

My only small complaint is the volume control -- when listening to the weather radio, the "lowest" setting is still somewhat loud.

This was a GREAT purchase and I would encourage anyone looking for a weather radio to purchase this one. It arrived promptly, was easy to program, and has already proven its reliability since it arrived the 1st of June. This has been an active severe weather month here in Minnesota and we have used it three time already this month. The alarm and flashing lights even woke us up at 3AM when a severe thunderstorm pasted through Minneapolis. We also turn it on in the morning to get the latest weather forecast for the day. Don't hesitate to purchase this radio if you are interested in a weather alert radio.

When my Reecom R-1650 stopped working after 9 months, I followed the instructions in the owner's manual for warranty service. Nowhere in the owner's manual does it say you must call the company first before sending back the radio. Two months later I called the company to find out the status of the repairs and was informed that I had not followed the required procedure for obtaining warranty service. Complying with the owner's manual's instructions apparently was not sufficient. My radio was not repaired, nor was it returned to me. Customer Service will not resolve this problem because the company does not accept responsibility for the misleading information that is in its owner's manual. - Noaa - Same - Emergency Radio - Weather Radio'

Polk Speaker - polk speaker, outdoor speakers

I love this speaker !! It has a great sound for the $$. The mounting bracket system is heavy duty, very versatile and easy to install. I installed mine going horizontally in the corner and due to the 180 degree pivot lock system I could get them just at the right angle in no time at all. I'm using them in an indoor spa enviorment and had no problems with humidity effecting the speaker. Polk Audio Atrium 4 Speakers (Pair, White)

Excellent sound quality for the $$. Using indoors and am very impressed at the crispness and tone quality. Stylish design make these a nice addition to my room. So impressed that I bought a second pair for another room.

I would say great speakers for the price but I'm not sure how much better more expensive speakers would sound. I have these installed outside under a deck and they really throw out sound. I'm not an audiophile but I know when a speaker sounds good or not and these sound great. I'm not sure you can find a better speaker for the value.

Regrettably, the speakers are defective, so we'll be returning them to Amazon - the sound at the low end is weak and you can't hear the inner-voicings of the music. We'll be getting something different. - Polk Speaker - Outdoor Speakers'

Disposable Diapers - baby dry, pampers

I am a stay at home Mom with 4 children. I have been buying diapers for the past almost 11 years and Pampers Baby Dry is hands down the best diaper on the market, and believe me I have tried them all! All of my kids have been "super soakers" when it comes to pee. These diapers way out perform any other brand including major brands and department store brands. The major selling points for me are:

1. They are thin, easy to pack 5 in a diaper bag.

2. Easy to unfold with one hand (if you, like me frequently have to use the other hand to keep baby still)

3. tabs are easily opened without extra unfolding and don't rip off like several other brands.

4. Doesn't leave residue on baby or smell like pee when really soaked.

5. wider in the front to prevent baby from peeing out the side (and my kids are experts at this)

One thing that may be helpful is to remember that Pampers fit better on children that are long and skinny. If your baby is short and really chubby in the bottom, then Huggies will fit your baby better. This, I believe, explains the few complaints about Pampers not fitting or leaking.

Hope this review was helpful!

I made the huge mistake of buying the baby dry after reading through the reviews. I thought that for the price, why not try them. What a huge mistake! I should have just bought a smaller amount to try them first. Instead we have been using these for over a month now and I have had to clean up a poop spill at least every other day. My baby was 4 months old when we started using these and since she is not eating solids yet, the poop is pretty runny. The baby dry don't absorb the runny poop and it tends to just go right up the back side of the diaper onto her outfit and usually whatever or whoever she is lying on. It's just not worth the money saved! I will only buy the Swaddlers from now on. Hope this helps someone wondering which to buy Swaddlers or Baby Dry, DEFINITELY go with the SWADDLERS!!

It must depend on your child because I tried the cruisers after always using baby dry on my son and they failed us several times. I went right back to baby dry and no more leaks. I have also tried other brands and I loved Huggies for my daughter but they don't work for my son. Funny how each is different. I am a mother of 4 and Luvs worked for my other son. You just go with what works for your child. I also have noticed that they work differently for different ages as well. Good idea to try a few out before you buy the jumbo packs.

Like other reviewers suggested, the size description is wrong. My five month old is about 15 lbs and a perfect size 2, and this size 1-2 is only up to 15 pounds. I'd say it fits up to size 1 1/2 comfortably. Pampers sells a size straight size 2 in smaller packs. Pampers diapers are great; easy to re-strap if you don't do it right the first time. The smell is pleasant, and the design cute sesame street characters. I recommmend, just make sure your baby is just barely out of size 1 to get this size 1-2!

I used to use the more expensive Pampers Cruisers but thought I'd try the Baby-Dry to save some money. I bought a pack at a local store first to make sure the fit and performance was good. I liked them just fine. Nice stretchy tabs, much like the Cruisers. So I ordered from Amazon. I ordered three cases to take advantage of a promotion Amazon was running. But the diapers I received must be old stock, before Pampers put the "flex" stretchy sides on the Baby-Dry diapers. The older expiration dates on the Rewards code confirms this. Maybe they've gotten rid of the old stock; then those newer diapers would rate 4.5 stars. These non-flex diapers barely close to fit my baby whereas the flex ones were plenty big. It irks me that Amazon posts a picture of the "flex" diapers and delivers a different, inferior product.

I love Pamper's Swaddlers. I've tried Huggies and both Pampers brands, and out of all of them Swaddlers are my favorite. That being said, the Baby Dry diapers are terrible. With Swaddlers you can adjust the fit, and the diapers are really soft. Baby Dry diapers feel like they're recycled and and I really dislike the sticky waist straps. They're shorter so you can't adjust the fit as easily, and the waist is always loose--with a boy that's a very bad idea because he tends to get his clothes wet through the TOP of the diaper instead of the sides now. I can't wait until we use these up because I will never buy Baby Dry again.

I have three children in diapers. My oldest is 4 years old and is autistic. We have not been able to potty train him yet.

We tried several brands only to find out that Pampers Baby Dry was always the one we went back to. No question! No leaks! But the cost of our diapers just adds up. Amazon has the absolute cheapest price I have found - in stores or on-line. And free shipping, and I got (...) off with a promotion for baby items over (...) prurchased. I made out! And never had to leave my door! Thanks Amazon! Really! - Pampers - Baby - Disposable Diapers - Baby Dry'

These Glasses have the same lenses as the ones in the ProX and Proview Glasses that you see on Amazon, but finally the company has come out with a pair of clipons! Now all of us that wear glasses, can easily wear a pair of 3D Glasses.

ThanksClip On 3D Glasses for 3D Movies, DVD's and Gaming that Require Red/Cyan Lenses - No Diopter Clip On 3D Glasses for 3D Movies, DVD's and Gaming that Require Red/Cyan Lenses

These clip ons are comfortable and don't make me dizzy like other color combinations do. The best thing about them that my husband and I discovered while having to pause an action flick is that they flip up while remaining on your glasses. Cool.

We have several pairs of prescription glasses in the house, and these clip-ons clip on over none of them. I contacted the seller and never got a reply. If you want poor glasses coupled with poor service, these are perfect.

They shipped quickly and got to me intact. It is nice to have a pair of these glasses that I can clean and will stay in good shape for a long time. I'm experimenting with 3D artwork, so these were needed to assist in that. No complaints, really.

If you want a functioning set of 3D clip-on lenses, you're looking in the wrong place.

There are two main issues with this piece of garbage:

1. The clip doesn't work.

2. The color filtration is extremely poor, failing on the red in particular.

The moment you close the spring clip over a pair of glasses, the entire mechanism falls apart - there's nothing to keep the clip in place under tension. This alone isn't a fatal flaw (I used a twist-tie to secure the clip in place), but the lack of adequate color filtration is; it makes this product utterly unusable.

You see more ghosting with these clip on's vs the Pro or ProX glasses. I'm disappointed they don't use the same lenses. They still work to some degree but if you want the best 3D separation, go with the Pro or ProX glasses. - Avatar - 3d Movie Glasses - 3d Glasses Direct - Friday The 13th'

Flexibility - ankle weights, exercise

These TKO wrist weights can be adjusted at 1/4 lb increments, and they don't scatter little metal granules like the Bell wrist weights that I used to use. You might consider wearing a thick old sock under them at the wrist...[cut out the toe] to prevent chafing... since the terry cloth lining is good, but not at the harder edges.

One other reviewer commented that the weights came flying out when punching. I found that happened also. To avoid that happening I put the bands on my wrists so that the pockets faced in toward my elbows rather than out toward my fists. The weights, when punching, are pushed into the bottom of the slots, rather than toward the velcro flaps holding them into the slots.

I'm still using them in 2010. TKO 205AWP 5lb Pair Wrist/ Ankle weights

sometimes simple is the best. These adjustable weights are easy to increase or decrease. The Velcro that attaches them is very nice, because as compared with another brand I tried, these are better because the velcro just hooks onto itself, there is no loop or anything the strap has to go through in order to secure it in place. For a person recovering from surgery and limited bending right now, the less work to hook the weights in place the better. A very good buy, and less expensive than some of the others out there.

These weights are very easy on and off. Also, adding or subtracting the individual quarter pound weights is very easy. The velcro adjusts to the desired tightness quickly, so my workout doesn't get interrupted. Highly recommend.

Not a bad product design/idea, the metal "weights" are more effective and more reliable than most wrist/ankle weights, But the weights are held in by a piece of Velcro. Which comes undone semi easy. They were tight and moderately comfortable, but the weights would come flying out if I did any thing like shadow boxing or anything else requiring fast jolting movements. Being that they were made by TKO. I figured they could take that kinda treatment as TKO builds boxing/MMA equipment.

Overall: Decent if they are gonna be used for aerobics or something in that category.

If you need ankle or wrist weights these are the ones to buy. You can add and subtract weight easily. The weights fit comfortably and are soft on your skin. The weights don't move around once you have them adjusted correctly.

Very nice because you can quickly and easily adjust the weight. I was using it to create a better workout when I'm using my PlayStation Move games. But, ended up using it in my regular exercise routines as well. The only problem I find is that the velcro covers that hold the individual bars of weight is not very secure. Any fast movements or unsecured velcro creates dangerous flying projectiles. So, yes buy it... but be wary of this problem. - Exercise - Ankle Weights - Flexibility - Physical Therapy'

Boat Maintenance - refinishing, sailing

Another crystal clear Don Casey book. Explains painting, varnishing, surface prep, brushes, solvents, sanding, basic gelcoat, fixing small blisters, painting the mast, applying the name, fixing non-skid surfaces, fixing crazing and alligatoring, and bottom painting. If I screw it up now, it won't be Casey's fault :)! Sailboat Refinishing (International Marine Sailboat Library)

Book is perfect for anyone about to embark on a project boat or one who may be testing the water to see how well prepared you need to be. The book indicates what is necessary to have on hand in order to re-do a sailboat. Having just begun my boat refinishing, I can say I personally took a number of bits of advice into consideration and these may have saved me time and money already. Cheap insurance and a great mentor to have in hand as you get ready.

Similar to other books in the series. Style wise, this is the opposite of The Sailmaker's Apprentice by Marino. This is not a book to pick up while sitting by the fire sipping tea. It is a great reference book with concise "how to" information. Good explanations of both materials and techniques - including safety.

Worth it's weight in gold. All of Don Casey's sailboat books are excellent, but this one is the best. He distills a vast amount of experience and lore into a clear, understandable form. You could spend weeks studying internet posts on boating sites for refinishing info - or just buy this (very affordable) book. The chapter on hull painting with two-part polyurethane is the best I've ever read on this subject. Highly recommended.

This book is written for the novice boat refinisher. As such, it contains everything you need to know if you want to finish a boat yourself, except for detailing how to take all the precautions (in detail) for spraying 2-part polyurethane. The author does, however, recommend that an amateur not even try spraying 2-part because of the danger. All in all, a very well written book that should be read by anyone thinking about refinishing a boat.

I was overjoyed to finally read the actual process for using some of the chemicals needed to strip and refinish the wood on my husband's boat. When you buy the materials the instructions are very vague and even the warnings don't include disposal or environmental hazards. Don Casey writes like he is talking to you and explains details only someone working on a boat would need to know. Great book.

We recently lucked into a wonderful Grampian 26 in great shape, and were even luckier to have located this and the other Don Casey books! Even though it is still very much winter here, I'm chomping at the bit to start preparing the boat for the water. Casey's books are a must for any yacht owner! - Sailing - Refinishing - Boat Stuff'

Upconverting Dvd Players - netflix, 1080p

I have been waiting for this Blu-ray player since it was announced in January, bought this to use with my Panasonic VIERA TV set. VIERA link is the main reason I bought this -- it's for our exercise room, and my wife hates all the remotes. Great as a basic DVD/blu-ray player. Pop in a DVD, TV turns on, and sets the correct input. Also, one button selection of Netflix works great, and the new Netflix interface includes search. On screen interface is also very nice and easy to use. As will all new players, only has HDMI and composite video connectors, but single HDMI for video and audio is nice and is required for VIERA link.

Only reason for the 4 stars is DLNA (which in not just an issue with this device). Writing this in the hopes of saving at least one person the hours I spent setting this up. First, with my Windows 7 PC, the device was able to see and play the Windows Media Center .wtv files (I have a TV tuner card in my PC), so you can record shows on your PC and watch them on this player in another room. Compatibility with .wtv files was not mentioned in the manual, nor by Panasonic online support. Panasonic support also said that .mkv files would only play via a disk or the usb, but some of my .mkv files on my PC did play using DLNA (for some reason, only the files with an aspect ratio of 1024X576 or higher will play). Decided I needed a media server.

After trying Tversity, Playon, and Serviio, none of which would work with the DMP-BD75, I installed Mezzmo on my PC. Worked like a champ! The player sees all the files on my PC and they play flawlessly over my home network.

Remote will only control TV volume, power, and input, so if you switch to TV, you have to switch remotes. Don't know why in TV mode the number keys couldn't function to enter a channel number. Still, the remote will control all disc functions, Netflix, and all my video files via DLNA. One thing with the remote and VIERA link, the large power button turns on the player and will also turn on the TV at the same time. However, when you power down, using the large power button only turns off the player (which does make sense, you may want to leave the TV on). There is a second power button for the TV. If you turn off that button, both with shut down.

Overall, for just under $100 you can't go wrong. And if you aren't interested in DLNA or 3D, then this would be a 5 star player. Panasonic DMP-BD75 Ultra-Fast Booting Blu-ray Disc Player

I've had this Bd75 for about a month now. When I first received it , I had problems. I mainly got this unit so I could stream Netflix movies, and wanted to have a Blu-ray player to connect to my Panasonic TC-L42U22 1080p LCD TV.

When the player chose to work, I was overwhelmed by the fantastic picture quality of this TV/Blu-ray combo. But, the Bd75 had bugs, and if you're like me, if something doesn't work as it should right out of the box, chances are things are only going to get worse.

I decided that the Bd75 was so good at streaming Netflix movies that I would keep it, bugs and all.

Now for the really good news. I turned the unit on a few days ago, and had a on-screen message that there was a firmware update available. Version 1.19 I let it download. It restarts itself after the download, and since then, NO bugs, freeze-ups, or any other problems.

If this firmware update does its job, then this Bd75 player will be a steal at the $99.00 it sells for.

Panasonic says this player won't support Amazon Video on Demand as it does not have VIERA Cast capability. There is currently no firmware update and they told me they don't expect to add this feature in the future either. It does support Netflix streaming.

I have since returned the DMP-BD75 and purchased a Panasonic DMP-BD65 with VIERA Cast. The DMP-BD65 works great and streams Amazon Video on Demand.

I'm not sure that a device that did not work out of the box deserves 4 stars but since it is 2011 and manufacturers can fairly rely on consumers having access to a hard-wired internet connection (ethernet cable, not wireless), I guess having to download the most current software is not reason enough to fail this device. When I first hooked up this Panasonic BlueRay with an HDMI cable, there was a crazy loud clicking noise instead of the expected audio. A quick read of the manual had me hooking this up to my Cisco Router and getting the most current download. Then it was smooth sailing and everything worked seamlessly. So, if you have some competence with your network then you should be fine - otherwise you might want to skip this item.

I've had this blu-ray player for a couple weeks now. Setup was quick and easy. Haven't tried DLNA yet, but Cinemanow, Vudu all work great. Streamed a hi-def episode of Stargate Atlantis from Netflix - AWESOME!! Another 5 Star product from Panasonic.

Firstly, I should state that I have extensive experience in AV as well as computer networking so this is not an issue of me not knowing what I am doing.

I purchased this unit after having excellent experiences with previous Panasonic BDP's. I've used many from the DMP-BD30 through to the BD100's and they've mostly been solid products. Unfortunately Panasonic seems to have let this one out of the gates too soon. The unit is nice and small, boots quickly but unfortunately has major issues with its network card and Internet connectivity in general. I have tried two different units and unfortunately both suffered from the same issue. The "easy network setup" says everything is working properly then I can only connect to netflix through this device about half the time (Netflix works fine when connecting through my Samsung TV). When trying to perform a firmware update, it will not connect at all. Panasonic support in Canada is atrocious and I cannot seem to find out for the life of me what the latest firmware version is (the players were both running v1.09). A search of their site shows that there are no downloads for the unit. I have ruled out it being an issue with my network as everything else works fine on it (including my Samsung player), I have completed extensive network tests and I have also tried this unit at a friends house with the same results. Hopefully this is a bug in the firmware and Panasonic is able to remedy this quickly. Until then, make sure you are able to easily return it if an issue arises! - Blu-ray - Netflix - Panasonic - 1080p'

Macbook Pro 13 Inch

This is a really great case! It snaps right on and fits like a glove. Once on, you forget its there. It provides excellent protection as well and it looks GOOD! This case has a slight notch to accommodate the new 2010 MBP adapters.

Only con is that fingerprints do leave marks on the case. If that bothers you, you might have to wipe it down often. It doesn't bother me at all. But I wipe it down occasionally because it just looks slick when its nice and clean.

The texture of the case is really grippy. You don't feel like it will fall out of your hand. It provides good traction with hand when carrying it.

I recommend pairing this with the incase neoprene sleeve for maximum protection for those on the go. It fits nice and snug. I am a law student and I am constantly packing up and setting back up again. I carry this set up in my backpack and it provides good protection. Overall, I highly recommend this product. It is so well done, I'm really surprised Apple didn't come up with product. Speck Products See Thru Satin, Soft Touch Hard Shell Case, for 13-inch Pro MacBook Aluminum Unibody/Black Keyboard MB13AUSAT-BLK-D (Black) - DOES NOT FIT WHITE MACBOOK

Just got it. Snapped right into place. Fits like a glove and leaves the outlet areas uncovered. Excellent fit and finish. My brand new macbook pro won't get scratched and looks cool too. The apple shines through on top... Elegant cover for a beautiful machine!

This is a very nice product, fits well. I am giving it 3 stars mainly because:

1.It's EXTREMELY hard to take off, almost broke a nail trying to do so, and you have to be very careful when 'attempting' this because you might break one of the tabs if you pull hard, or even break the case itself.

2.The color was not was I was expecting, it was BRIGHT pink, although once I put it on it did not look as bad as it looked when i first took it out of the box.

3.No cleaning cloth included!!!

Overall I guess it's a good product, just wish it was easier to take off..

I'll give my opinions without going into much detail on the product's features, since you can find dozens of reviews for nearly identical products from Speck elsewhere on this site.

First, since this is the first review of this particular model... From what I can tell, what differentiates this product from previous models is that this one has a very subtle notch near the power port that allows the redesigned 2010 MagSafe connector to be connected in such a way that the cord runs away from the user. This is almost unnoticeable, but helps the MagSafe get a good, secure connection. This may have been existent on previous models, but I can't say for sure.

My general impression is that, while functional, this case will make your notebook seem less premium in a couple of ways:

1) The added bulk obviously alters the form factor of the notebook. To me, It's a worthwhile trade-off, since I can always pull the notebook out of the case when I want to return it to its sleek roots.

2) In my experience, the added weight that comes along with any case is particularly noticeable with the lid, and this one is no exception. While the Macbook Pro's hinge has plenty of strength to tolerate the added weight, adding the case makes it much easier to open/adjust/close the lid anytime it is working with gravity. I personally HATE a loose screen hinge, so while this case doesn't actually make the hinge any looser, it still bothers me that it FEELS looser.

Despite what may have seemed like a negative experience, I have found this to be a very good product, but not one without some drawbacks.

Other thoughts: As strange as it might look, I may end up using this case without the lid portion while I'm just at home, since most scratching opportunities will arise when setting the notebook down.

Bought this after I make an ugly little dent on the bottom of my Macbook and I love it! It protects my case from dings, dents and scratches perfectly. It looks sleek and modern with the matte finish. Tried taking it off the first time and had no problem. You just have to be careful with the plastic tabs. Great price from the seller too! A DEFINITE MUST HAVE FOR ALL MACBOOK PRO OWNERS!

This product is great! I'm glad I was able to find it on Amazon for about $20 cheaper than the retail price. When I purchased it, there was no cloth included (I'm not sure if that has something to do with the seller).

The case is very durable and I have zero scratches on my Macbook Pro 13" Unibody (Mid 2010). I'm glad to have gotten this case and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to prevent any scratches on their macbook.

I can't really tell the difference between the weight with the case on or off. The apple logo still shines through with the case on and the case has a GREAT feel. You must get this product!!'

Phillips  ii Plus - very fast

Have used these screws for years. The heads never strip out and never rust or change color. I've had these screws on some deck rails for four years and they still look like I just put them down yesterday. 5# 2-1/2" Tan Exterior Screws

These are the best all purpose screws available. Using their bit the screws never cam out. The shafts are very strong. I have never had the head come off. They also resist rust better than any other screws I have tried.

I built 200 feet of custom fence with pressure treated pine. It has been 4 years and I had to take a section down to put in a pool (you'll be glad you used screws!!!) and the screws were like brand new. The zinc screws from the gate latch sheared off when I tried to back them out. Stainless is definitely the best, but these are fantastic.

These are the best most reliable screws that I have ever used. Like other customers here I originally bought these at Lowes. I was so impressed that they are the only screw that I have bought since. Recently I went back to Lowes and found that they no longer carry them. I will be stocking up online shortly. I love how easy these screws are to use and they hardly ever strip unlike the new brand which Lowes now carries.

I've got a very long board-on-board wood fence around each of two properties I own. The contractor who built the fences used junky nails; the heads of the nails started rusting off in less than two years, and the boards started popping off of the fence. As I systematically replaced all of the nails with screws, I pretty much went through every brand and make of wood screw that Home Depot and Lowe's sold, none of which were very suitable. For one reason or another, they just weren't up to a good enough quality standard: difficult to start in the wood, heads strip out half-way in, heads snap off half-way in, heavy rusting after only a few short months, etc. I was very dissatisfied with every different brand I tried, that is, until I came across these Phillipsii brand screws at Lowe's. They are wonderful! Best wood screw I've ever used. The bite into the wood like a hot knife going through butter, and the ones I put in 5 years ago still look to be in as good a condition as the ones I put in last weekend. Several weeks back, I went to Lowe's to purchase more, and to my horror, they stopped carrying them. I went on line and thankfully I could get them via the company web page with free shipping, so I stocked up!

I have used these screws on decks and playsets and I would highly recommend them. They are very hard to strip and as the product description states they do not rust. It is possible to scratch off some of the coating while driving the screw, but that is relatively difficult to do, and the screws that have had a small amount of the coating scratched off have not given me any problems. I have never had one of these screws break while being driven or removed. This product is well worth every penny.

I bought these at Lowe's a while back and found them to be the best screws ever. They didn't strip and went into wood easily. When I went back to Lowe's to get more they didn't carry them, so I looked for a place to purchase them online because I didn't want to use anything else. - Very Fast'

Large Display Gps - magellan, magellan roadmate

I bought this because I was interested in the larger display. We use it in a motorhome and both of us like to be able to see the GPS. Not so easy with a typical 3.5" unit. We previously owned a Maggelan unit and were happy with it but wanted a larger display.

This unit is almost idea, the display is very clear, it is easy to set up prior to a trip and it has no fluff that we have no need for like bluetooth, MP3 player etc. It's a GPS, not a multi-purpose unit. Which is what I want. I really like the lane change feature, that's almost enough to make the new unit worthwhile by itself. So far it has worked flawlessly. The only downside is that it will not run very long without being plugged into 12V (30 min). I suspect because of the large display. But that's not really a issue since we have it plugged in all the time anyway. One feature I like is the small suction cup, it takes much less dashboard/window real estate that our previous unit. We us a non-skid "pillow" most of the time, but use the suction cup in the car and it's much easier to mount.

Just wanted to make a update - We now have a lot more miles on the clock using this unit. We had no issue with it being slow or not giving us enough time to react like another reviewer found. And I often need lots of time due to the length of our MH and car together. We didn't have any routing issues either. Guess that's why there are many different models and companies producing these things.

I have to give Amazon a plug as well. I looked at Best Buy and one other store, they didn't even know this model existed. Amazon shipped it and I received it in less that 18 hours. We were on a one day stop while traveling. That's really good service. Magellan RoadMate 1700 7-Inch Portable GPS Navigator

This is my 5th GPS (4 Magellan's and one Garmin, plus the ones in rentals and built-into cars) and I have to say they've gotten close to perfect for what it is. I was going to give up on Magellan after my last long term one (Maestro 4040). I just bought a Magellan RoadMate 1475T and found it an improvement over the 4040 but it took forever to start-up and get a signal; plus a number of idiotic things they've done to make the displays harder to navigate and the fact the traffic feature never told me about a slowdown until I was in it.

I saw the 1700 and thought I'd take a chance because I've always wanted a bigger screen to show surrounding streets. I am so glad I sent the 1475T back, this unit is a huge improvement over the 1475T! The screen is fantastic and supports swipe movements over the map so you can look around, then return to where you actually are, or are going.

I didn't know about the AV video input when I bought it, but what a bonus! I just plug in my 3.5mm AV cable (I got it at the Apple Store) and the display switches to video (the aspect ratio is stretched, but what-the-heck). It's going to be great to use on long trips. I would have bought it for this feature alone.

It doesn't have Bluetooth (I could never get Magellan Bluetooth to work properly with my iPhones, Magellan seems to be Windows centric) or any other GPS add-ons that never seemed to work properly. I don't know if the 1475T or the 1700 came first, but the 1700 has a lot of the 'good' features that older Magellan's had, ones that seem to be back-step improvements on the 1475T. The spoken voice on the 1700 is the good old one and the 1475T had a distorted hard to understand voice that I assume is new. The 1700 has the old, easier to use, screens and the 1475T has additional options like the "Local Info" icon that leads to more confusing options that don't really tell you anything. Also the "Save" on the present location didn't work on the 1475T, but it works great on the 1700. It's a feature I use all the time, if you're someplace you want to quickly remember, just hit a couple of buttons and it's saved and named.

I've used the 1700 for over a week and it really works well, locks on to the GPS signal faster than any GPS I've had, literally within seconds of turning on the unit. With the big screen it's much faster for me to enter info and navigate. Buttons are HUGE (and pretty)! The sound is great and the 3D maps are better than the 1475T (probably because of the larger screen). You can easily add more destinations for multi-stop trips and sort them. It's also much easier to add an address than the older Magellan's and their "Smart Cities" is a much needed improvement that works. The POI's also appear a lot faster than the the older models and are easier to add to the address book. There are also two pages of favorites buttons that are easy to add and easy to use.

Overall I love this unit, I'll probably keep this one for a long time. Before I could hardly wait to upgrade out of frustration.

The downside: it definitely needs a faster processor. Maybe the large screen takes more of the processor, but there can be a lag when entering using the keyboard touch screen. It doesn't affect actual navigation, it's only when using the display to enter things.

It's big! I would follow another reviewer's advice and make a cardboard cutout first and see if you have the space. I just barely do, my window really slopes and it's a close fit. One of the big deficiencies for me is the window mount. It's the worst Magellan mount I've had. In the past they've been really great, the 4040 had a fantastic mount, but the one for the 1700 is really too small, they must and known this in the product trials. Even if you only used it for Motor Homes or Trucks, I don't see how this mount could move it far enough from the window to get it off of its cradle. It uses a ball joint that can't be tightened enough to keep it from jiggling. I'm going to have to buy the optional extended mount, but Magellan should have included the same mount they used for the 4040. The mount is the biggest disappointment of this purchase.

The POI's are as bad as they always are. Since I've never seen any brand that has accurate ones, I think they should give up trying to include them. Only half of my local Post Offices are listed, none of my favorite coffee shops appear (but all the Starbucks are there correctly) and it lists businesses that closed down years ago. If you want POI's, I think you have to buy a smart phone and look them up when you need them and enter addresses. The gas stations and hotels seems to be accurate and on a trip would be useful until they get outdated as well. Even Google Maps doesn't have things correct, so I guess it's not unexpected that a unit that was manufactured months ago isn't right either.

Also, all the Magellan's I've had shows you slightly behind where you actually are. Since it's always been that way, through many models, and they've never changed it, I have to assume they do it on purpose. This can be really frustrating when roads are really close to each other and you're not sure if you're turning down the right one. If you're stopped at an intersection, it shows you yards back. I think they should add an option that would move every reading 10 yards forward on the map. However, the turn chime is correct and it's what I use more than the screen. If it chimes, I know the next turn is it. The close-up feature they've added works well, it zooms in on a turn and puts a huge arrow on the map, this helps.

Overall, this is the best GPS I've ever had and would buy it again in a second. It does have room for improvement, but has all the features I really count on without the optional stuff that never seems to work. And the display is FANTASTIC!

For those that are having problems using the AV input, you have to have the correct cable. Three times Radio Shack tried to sell me the wrong cable, one made for audio. Only the Apple Store had the correct one and knew what I was talking about. Magellan should have one on their accessories online store! You have to plug the cable in after the 1700 is running, if you start the 1700 with the cable attached, it ignores the AV and goes to the GPS. Just plug the AV cable in and the 1700 automatically switches to AV mode. You can access the volume controls by taping on the screen. NONE of this is documented anywhere in the instruction manual or online. It's a great feature that they seem to be ignoring, maybe it's liability or something else.

Please Magellan, use the 1700 as your basis for future models and improve the windshield mount. - Magellan - Roadmate 1700 - Magellan Roadmate - Magellan Gps'

Rca Cables - computer cables, rca cables

This MAY be for use with a special device that has a USB port on it which INTERFACES with your computer, but THIS IS NOT FOR PLUGGING UP TO YOUR COMPUTER.

***** >>>>>>> DO NOT PLUG TO YOUR COMPUTER <<<<<<<<< *******

Do not be fooled by the little "box" in the middle of the cable which some might believe is an analog-composite-video-signal to digital-serial converter. It is not.

I disassembled the cable to see what it was, and it is merely 3 RCA connectors going to the USB port. That's all! This can damage your USB port and/or the audio/video device you plug it into. Here's why, and here is the PINOUT of the cable:

* The ground of the RCA connectors is also the ground of the USB port as well as the Data ground (D-) on the USB port!

* The "Right Audio" composite pin is actually the +5 Vcc on the USB port! This will inject 5 volts into your video/audio device if plugged in!!

* The "Left Audio" and "Video" composite pins go to the Data positive (D+) on the USB port!

Again YOU WILL FRY YOUR USB PORT AND/OR YOUR VIDEO DEVICE if you plug this cable in and connect it up. 3 RCA to USB Cable

It is absolutely an amazing deal, just perfect for watching vhs tapes or dvd's on your monitor (which is what I am using it for)FREE SHIPPING is another nice perk. Whatever you are using this converter for it is worth it(exept if you are trying to use it to connect your laptop to your tv because its only supposed to be able to input not output) So don't listen to all the reviews that say this is a horrible product because it didn't connect their laptop to their tv. Great product, Great deal, and Great seller!

the reason you can't use it for connecting laptop to tv is because of the direction of travel of the information. your laptop's video OUTPUT does not go through the usb ports, it will go through either and s-video connection or a serial port. this cable is for input to laptop, not output from it. so connect dvd player, vcr, camcorder, etc. and you're fine. so, yes, the people who are complaining about not being able to use to connect to tv's are indeed foolish, know what you're doing, people, do some research first. if and only if your tv has rca outputs, which most do not nowadays, then you could use it to record what's on tv, but easier just to connect to your cable box or dvd player or something. - Computer Cables - No Good - Junk - Rca Cables'
