When I think of Bonnie Klein I think of her colorful chatterwork tops, which have appeared in books and the covers of magazines for some time. Truth would have it, she is a woman of considerable accomplishment besides the tops, and all of her woodwork is done to a fine standard. Even though it is of the 'fun' category instead of the serious work that most of us tend to read about more than we actually make.

I'm not sure why the publisher decided to refer to these projects as 'classic.' These objects are meant for use, whether they are tops, carrot pens, whistles, or a honey dipper. They are wonderful examples of craft, but they are the furthest thing from classic design - actually a breath of fresh air with a lot of color and cheerfulness. Many would make great presents, especially for children.

This isn't a beginner's book, although it isn't extreme in its requirements. You do need to be comfortable with the standard turning chisels and be willing to purchase a chatter tool. The pictures are good, but Klein assumes that you can produce these shapes with a minimum of fuss - or are willing to put some energy into using the projects as intended, to push your skills a bit. klein is famous for her tops. it seems as though she wants to keep her 'know-how' secret. the pictures show you the steps, the descriptions vaguely tell you what to do - i didn't need to spend $15 to tell me the obvious. this was a lazy attempt to publish a book. you are better served to go to the internet and find countless projects for free that have detailed measurements and specifications. this book is headed for the woodturner's club library to be seldom used. - Woodturning - Wood Turning'

Blackberry Curve Battery - cell phone battery, blackberry curve

The condition of the item is marked as new but the battery they sent me was dirty and all scratched up. Clearly an old used battery. Nothing makes me more upset than a dishonest vendor like the OEM shop. I sent them an email demanding that they fix this so i will update when this is settled.

UPDATE: after contacting the seller they sent me out another battery and although it was newer than the first one it was used as well. i dont know what else to say except that both batteries worked but neither was new as claimed. The battery lasted only about an hour to an hour and a half when fully charged and the phone was in the locked position, not being used. I received a call once with about three bars left and I only got in about a minute and a half of talk time before the battery died completely. Rip off.

This battery was nearly useless. It started to fail almost immediately, and after 2 months, after charging all night, the battery dies after about 8 hours. And this is without the wi-fi or bluetooth or GPS connections enabled. It's supposed to be OEM, but this is really hard to believe. This is an unacceptable, inferior product.

The battery drained on the first use!!!! It is NOT working!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It shows 80% full battery, then although being charge, it was drained in 10 minutes!!! right on the first use!!!!!

Shame on this company!!! CHEATING!!!!!!!

I bought this for my Blackberry 8520 after the original battery would drain completely after just 5 or 6 hours of being in standby mode. Afterwards I realised that it was a Facebook app issue. I still kept this replacement in the phone because it lasts a couple hours more than the original battery. I bought this when it was $11us so as you can see the price dropped quite a bit. At the time it definitely seemed to be new. I got no indication that made me think otherwise. This was 5 months ago. I don't know if the standards have dropped since then.

I was a little wary of buying after reading many negative reviews that the batteries were refurbished and not packaged adequatley. But for $3.00 I figured why not just take a chance; if it worked i could avoid the $36 rip off battery from the phone company. Yes, the battery was clearly not new and not packaged very well, BUT it works just fine and lasts as long as the other battery did when it was brand new. This battery has shown no problems and its been 2 months since i bought it. What rocks the most about this battery is that it didnt cost $30 or greater. If this battery stopped working tommorow and i had to buy another 6 over the next 2 years it would still end up rocking because id still be spending less money than the price of a brand new battery. I had seen a colleague of mine wearing this shawl. It looked gorgeous on her. That evening I promptly logged on to amazon.com and ordered one in red and the other in chocolate.

The fast delivery service didn't keep me waiting for long. The pashminas were softer and more lightweight than I had thought there were. I do have to say that the pashminas are not as soft as the ones my mother has but considering the price I paid for mine, they are fabulous. The material is on the thinner side; so don't expect it to keep you extremely warm.

The paisley self-design gives the shawl a richer look. On closer examination, I found minute dark spots on one of the shawls, but since it seemed as though it was woven in the fabric I did not bother much. Since then I have used the shawls for various occasion, both casual and formal. I love both the colors I have. I have been searching everywhere for wraps for the girls in my wedding to wear. One night I happened to come across the 70% pashmina & 30% silk from Saka's. I decided to order them in black to see what they would look like b/c the internet can sometimes be deceiving. When I received them in the mail, I couldn't be more excited. They are perfect for the wedding. Soft and silky feel with a very subtle design. Not only are they dressy enough for the wedding, the girls can use them again for anything. I plan on buying more, there are a ton of colors offered. Did I mention how reasonable the price was?? Also, the handwritten note with the package was a nice touch. Thank you!!

I received a scarf that was a completely different color from what I ordered. I contacted customer service and was told that they shipped the "closest color". I have never experienced anything like this in any shopping experience. I returned the item and expected them to refund the shipping cost, since the error was completely due to their error. They did not do so. I feel like I got taken for a ride - $6.97 for initial shipping, + the cost of shipping the shawl back to them. It seems like an unscrupulous deal.

I ordered this for myself and once I got it I ordered several for Christmas gifts. The price is soo great I ordered extra just to have on hand in case I need a quick gift. It is very soft and the color (Chocolate Brown) was slightly patterned. It can easily be dressed up or down depending on your mood. It is exactly what I expected. It is on the thin side so if you are looking for something substantial this is not for you ( but the feel is heavenly).

These are the types of Pashmina you can buy from the street vendors of New York for $5. They are exactly the same, even down to the slip cover packaging. The quality is acceptable, some frayed edges and very thin, but a nice stocking filler. Certainly not worth the price listed here.

The title of my review says it all. The shawl was crammed into a clear plastic bag that had a paper sticker on it with fabric content information. The only problem is there is NO label of any kind on the shawl itself and so you have no idea what it is actually made of. Any kind of shawl from a cheap acrylic to whatever could have been put into this wrapper. In addition, there is no fabric care label to tell you if the shawl is delicate machine washable, has to be dry cleaned or what. This violates USA import laws. Fabric must have a content and care label.

I telephoned Amazon.com customer service about the problem with the 2 shawls of this style I ordered as well as one this seller advertised as 100% cashmere and actually is 80% cashmere, 20% silk, that I also ordered. The label on that shawl says it's from clubpashmina.com.

All 3 shawls are being returned. The 2 of this style because they are not suitable for gifts with no fabric content or care labels. I have serious doubts they are the claimed 70/30 combination advertised.The other shawl because it is not the claimed 100% cashmere.

Be aware, you may not get what is shown or advertised !

I purchased a black and a red/black pashmina. I'm going to keep the black one, but the red/black doesn't look as rich in color as it appears in the photo. It's a bit more orange-red than I would like, and isn't as elegant as the black one. The quality is good for the price, but the "original" price is a bit misleading - in my opinion they are not $100+ quality.

This shawl/wrap is beautiful!! The design is so subtle, but wonderful! I needed this for a wedding. I ordered it on a Friday and needed it for the following Friday. With standard shipping, I received it on the Monday before the wedding!!! I love this item and definitely recommend it!!

Fitness Lifestyle - exercise, step aerobics

I had searched high and low for this particular kind of step with absolutley no luck, despite the fact that step aerobics are not only hugely populer, but this particular step model is the most widely used in gyms, home exercise videos and on Fitness television. It was simply no where to be found at every major (and even minor) store I went to which sells fitness equipment. They all carried the smaller 12x25 inch step, and I needed this larger 14x40 inch step for a wider variety of exercises. These include not only step aerobics, but also chest presses, tricep dips and many other exercises. This in fact serves and as both a step-up and a weight bench, is easy to assemble, and adjusts to three seperate heights (additional height can be added on by purchasing additional raisers but I won't be needing those). This step is strong and sturdy and the surface effectively absorbs the shock of high impact exercises. I am able to stand on the very edge of it for doing calve raises without feeling like it's going to tip over with my body weight.

I was even further impressed that it arrived within slightly less than a week of ordering it - and during the week of Christmas at that. This step is so much fun to use and I am absolutely in love with it!

This step is exactly like the ones at the gym. That is the reason I bought it. I also have the smaller home model. I don't like it at all. Don't waste your money on it. This one is great!

Good solid piece of equipment.

This step is well worth the investment-- I used to try and work out on a teeny home step and it just wasn't practical--- or safe! This huge, club size step makes your workouts more effective and more enjoyable. Its sturdy and much better for your workout.

The good:

It's lightweight, assembles easily.

The bad:

It shouldn't be used with weights if you're over 200lbs.

I'm around 210 and standing in the center, it sinks and flexes way too much.

Stand in the middle, towards the edge and you sink into it (I do).

It isn't as sturdy as the Reebok version. The base blocks make it easier for it to tip over while you're using it.

Initially I was concerned about trying Step Aerobics because I have weak ankles. However, after using "The Step" and working with Kathy Smith's DVD, "Step Workout," I haven't noticed any problem with my ankles. I only wish I had discovered this form of exercise a lot sooner! As a result of using the "Step" at home for only one month, I'm already seeing major benefits. These benefits have surpassed my previous efforts with walking and riding an exercise bike. My lower body is much stronger; I have better endurance for walking and other activities; and I'm losing inches off my hips and thighs much faster. It's great working on the "Step" for only 25 minutes and getting quick results without having to exercise for an hour or more. I'm also maintaining my weight better without watching it go up and down like a yo-yo. At last, I found an indoor exercise program that really works and doesn't make me sore afterwards. I actually look forward to working out because I have so much energy afterwards.

This step is OK, but not as good as the Reebok step. The ridged deck tends to catch on the soles of your shoes and you have to be careful to seat the step on the risers just right. If you need to turn the step during your workout, you can't do it quickly because the risers don't attach, they just sit under the platform. Still, it's a way better step than those cheapie $19.95 plastic ones. Sturdy and stable as long as you get the risers in the right place.

This step is totally awesome. If you are looking for a step, look no further than this one. I originally bought the smaller version step at half the price, and it did not work very well for me at all. All of the step workout DVD's I own and workout to, use the original health club step. So when I was trying do those workouts with the smaller step, I was not able to do all of the moves, because of the shorter platform space. But now that I have the full size step, I am able to perform all of the moves on my DVD's and the workouts are now so much more fun, enjoyable, and safer. So do yourself a favor and just spend the extra money and buy the original health club step to begin with. You will not regret it!

I have never been a fan of aerobic exercise, but I love step aerobics. I live in a 850sqft condo in San Francisco, so I have very little space to exercise. Step aerobics is perfect for small spaces. It is unfortunate that this company makes such a flimsy product, it will not support my 245lbs. So, if your over 200lbs and want to start step aerobics I would consider the NORDIC TRACK STEPPER. It will hold up to 250lbs, and it comes with a DVD with 2 routines, beginner and intermediate, which I have been doing 3 days a week for 7 months, and am still having fun doing. It is adjustable and looks a lot like the Reebok 5-Position Step Deck that they sell here on Amazon. I found mine at sears online, it was $49.99. Don't waste your money on this inferior product, spend less and get a better product.

The Step is the best step I've ever used. I've had another one just like it for nearly 10 years. It's very wide, stable and versatile. It's one great piece of equipment...it functions as a step as well as a low bench and incline bench... and well worth the money. You can also purchase extra risers for it if you need more than the two sets that come with The Step. If you need some equipment but don't have a lot of space then this is a good choice because of it's versatility. Plus it will last a very long time.

For those who love to aerobic step, the last thing they want to have to be concerned with is whether the step is going to slide or (worse!) tip while they are stepping. Bad enough to be injured by the actual workout--to add injuries from an unreliable step surface makes the workout useless. That was the unfortunate story of my workout life before I found The Step. This base stays put during the workout. The Step feels very stable and solid, and will not tip. The surface is huge (actual stepping surface area is 36" x 14") and completely non-skid. The top segment can be used alone for beginners or combined with "feet" segments according to stepping ability. Storage is easy, since the "feet" pieces separate and/or can all stack together, independent of the top segment -- you can definitely put this under a bed.

I recently purchased a new canon printer and knew I wanted to order some paper along with the purchace of the printer. I love matte finish and had always selected this for my film photos. I ordered this paper with some trepidation because of the one reviewer that thought this paper was such poor quality. There have been some who have said it is difficult to tell which side of the paper to use, and this is true. There is no "Canon" written across the back of this paper. If you do select the 'wrong' side of the paper and didn't realize it, anyone would be dissapointed and I do hope the one reviewer will return here and try the other side of her paper. To use the right side of the paper, hold two pieces of the paper up to each other. The right side to print on is the brighter white and has a very lightly textured surface. The wrong side of the paper is more yellowish and is very smooth. When printing on the right side of the paper the photos come out absolutely stunning. My printer came with samples of the photo paper pro (glossy) which is probably quite nice if you are a glossy paper person. It wasn't until I could see my photos printed on this 4 x 6 matte paper that I could really appreciate the quality of my printer. If you are a lover of Matte finish, you will love this paper. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase! I've never really cared for glossy finish photos and was happy to find this matte finish photo paper in the 4x6 size. It makes printing my digital photos easy and fun! Especially easy with my Canon PIXMA MP750 All-In-One Printer!

I guess some people presume that photograph should look shiny and glossy all over. Non for everyone. I like matte finish. Also it's has much more longevity-if you touch it with your sweat fingers it won't smudge as gloosy prints. To anyone who hates matte appearence I will recomend to visit museum with picture gallery. Do you see lots of shine there? No. Glossy print may appear to be sharper-but it's only appearence. Do take your picture in good focus and you'll have exelent results no matter what paper matte or glossy. This paper is not waste of money-as a matter of fact, you save bunch of it buying this paper over glossy. Higly reccomend.

After much research and shopping around, I bought an i9900 last month. I have been extremely happy with the picture quality and the speed of the printer. I learned with my last printer the value of using original equipment manufacturer supplies - the picture quality is so much better on Canon paper/ink in the Canon printer. This was my first foray into the matte finish, and my only complaint is that I have a HARD time determining the print side of this paper. The printed pictures are outstanding nonetheless.

I was wary of this product after reading varied reviews, but many of the negative reviews appear to be based on mistaken expectations. In truth, everything I have printed on this photo paper is beautifully clear and vibrant, from photos to intricate graphics for paper miniatures. The results for graphics are especially stunning. This photo paper is not "just" cardstock, but rather cardstock with a special matte printing surface. Keep in mind that the glossy photo paper is also simply cardstock, but with a glossy printing surface. The matte and glossy photo papers are the same weight (45 lb) so I don't understand complaints about flimsiness. This is just the matte version of the Canon glossy 4x6 photo paper, which currently boasts a 5-star average rating.

Things to keep in mind about the matte photo paper:

- This is matte photo paper, NOT glossy. Do not expect glossy photos on this paper.

- This is cardstock with a matte finish. Remember that glossy photo paper is just cardstock with a glossy finish.

- The paper has a front side and a back side, with the printing surface whiter than the back side.

- Printers may print differently on glossy and matte photo paper, so be sure to choose "matte photo paper" from your print dialog.

This is a beautiful photo paper that yields beautiful photos and graphics.

I highly recommend this paper. I managed a high end pro photo lab for 10 years and now that I am a hobbyist and like to print at home this is my favorite paper to use. Just be sure to load it in the printer correctly. If you print on the wrong side it looks very bad.

I've used Canon Matte Photo paper for years in my Canon S900 printer. The pictures are stunning! One of the best features is that the pictures are easy to view because they are completely flat finish yet retain all the resolution your digital image can provide. Using Canon's Easy-Photo printing program with the Matte Paper presets makes printing a breeze. I've never really been a watch wearing type of person because of my small wrists (6' and 160lbs) and the fact that when I want to buy something, I usually want something pretty specific. When I saw this watch I immediately loved it; the style of the band, the black bezel and the must have illuminated hands and hour markers. Overall, the quality is very good, the size is perfect for people with smaller wrists and the crystal face is very durable. I've hit it against a could of things already and freaked out because I thought I scratched it only to find out there wasn't a single mark on the face.

I still have yet to get the band adjusted perfectly but I feel confident I will. The only complaint I have is the illumination is more like a glow in the dark type thing. If you're out in the sun all day or around a light source bright enough to charge it up, then you should have no problems reading it in the dark for a few hours. But that's only a few hours. I've yet to figure out how to get it charged up enough to last any longer than that. I guess I should've paid more attention and noticed that it's not self illuminating.

To sum it up, this is a great everyday casual watch that will go with about everything outside of a suit and tie...as long as you don't need to know what time it is at night. Victorinox Swiss Army Men's 241344 Summit XLT Watch

Have been pleased with the purchase of this watch. Like the military style of the face. Very easy to set the piece to the correct time. The date display is large enough for these old eyes to see. Its' accuracy is somewhere between "typical and best" for an OTC quartz watch - about .4 seconds per 24 hour period. The metal band is of high quality. I appreciate the level of detail on the elapsed time bezel.

All in all, the watch is an excellent value for the money.

I"ve always wanted this watch and once I found it one Amazon.com for a reasonable price I bought it. It's a great watch that is light weight and visually appealing. I received the product very quickly with no problems...

Very nice watch, very good price. We needed to wait a little bit until the price looked better but I think that 155 is the more that I would pay for a product like this.

Shipper (ensenada) is really bad. Bad tracking and they leave packages in my door (instead of in the front office). They would give you back the product in case somebody took it, but this is not the point, the bother is enough to make me place this comment.

I consider myself chronically unorganized and very picky.

This is a terrible combination for getting stuff done.

However, this big box of folders make me very happy.

They are there: crisp, clean, a virgin surface for my labels.

They aren't floppy like my OfficeMax cheapies.

Nor do I feel like my folders are a billboard.

Will buy again.

I used it to get my personal bills, records in order. Easy to use and very well made quality stock and product. It is but also flexible, sturdy, strong folder. They did not skim on the quality and made it flimsy and so light.

No complaints about any Smead products from me. These file folders are great for keeping track of expenses, bills or just about any kind of written correspondence. I've used them for years and it was really great to get them at such an amazing price *and* I was able to take advantage of the FREE shipping with Amazon.

These folders get the job done efficiently. They hold up well, when the peper packets get heavy that they hold in them. It may seem awkward for someone to write a review on these manilla folders, but I'm doing it. Even though I didn't have too many packets of paper that actually extended beyond the initial folding, these folders can expand up to 3 more times, providing an extra inch of space, to actually be used by the user.

Put everything into organized file folders that are organized in three ways: Category (General, Specific, Detail); Action (In, Hold, and Action); and Tickler File (43 folders for 31 days and 12 months.)Use simple plain vanilla folders. Use the Brother Labels to label the folders in logical, natural orders. Do not go more than 3 levels for each category, or else you will get lost.

Black And White - baby book, newborn gift

I bought this book for my son for his one-month birthday. Almost immediately he gravitated to the Black silhouettes of familiar objects on a white background. He loved it--and it held up well to his teething.Only one down side: After only a few short months his interest in this book has waned whereas his interest in other, more colorful books has picked up. For that reason I would suggest buying this book as a shower gift or for an infant under six months old. Black on White

Since infants are more aware of contrast than color in the beginning, I 'read' this book with my daughter from the time she was four months old through about her first year. Cover to cover, I read the words (title and book description, which almost hypnotically became part of the experience!) and described the pictures, sometimes tracing them with a finger. Our interaction with the small book was cuddly and verbal, as the images served as guides. She had her favorites, and the book is well-worn, chewed in places. It was a daily gentle activity, holding her interest, obviously delighting and stimulating, and paved the way for more and more books. Personally I prefer it to the White on Black, and always give it as part of a gift packet to friends with a new baby in their lives.

I bought this book on Amazon 18 months ago for my newborn nephew. He had other books, but for months this was the only book that interested him. I remember sitting with him and holding the pictures in front of him while he stared at them. Later, he learned how to turn the pages. Now, he uses it less, but is starting to learn the names of some of the pictures. As with the other reviewers, I have also given this as a gift to newborns. The White on Black book was not a winner with my nephew.

This is a great book for parents to share with their infants--to the newly talking. Each page features a distinct and easily recognizabe shape. The hard pages are nearly indestructable. Our kids loved looking at these books. We cried when we finally moved them into the garage because the kids had finally outgrown them. We make these part of every baby shower basket we put together. It's never too early to get into the habit of "reading" to your children, and these are the perfect "first books" for every child.

This is one of several black and white books that we got before our first baby was born. He definitely did like the black and white books more than other books for the first several months, and this one was fine. However, I usually chose other books because I wasn't totally sure what one of the pictures in this book was supposed to be (Ritz crackers? Flowers without stems???) Also, the pictures are all completely unrelated to each other, so it may be hard to find things to say to your baby about them if you're not someone who can easily make conversation about anything! If I could only get one black and white book, I'd definitely go with Look, Look! by Peter Linenthal, as the baby was most fascinated by the pictures in that one, and it had a simple text (this book has no words) that helped me come up with stuff to say about each page.

Baby's had this book since birth... and after 4 months, it is still one of her favorites. The pictures really grab her attention, and she likes to study them. Also since there are no words, you can make up a new story for the pictures each time if you want!

Granted, my son is only four months old, but this book is a big hit. I'm sure he'll outgrow it eventually, but that's the case with any book! If you have a very little one, this is a great book to start with. My son has only a dozen or so books so far, and out of all of them, this is the one he kicks and coos at the most. I'm attending a baby shower in a couple months and I'm definitely going to throw in a copy of "Black on White" for her.

Who says babies are too young for books? This book (and Ms. Hoban's other similar books)is a shining example that we're never too young to be introduced to books and reading. The bright, crisp, contrasting images are perfect for new babies. My baby loves this book, and will sit entranced for quite a while as we talk about the images we see. My only complaint would be that it is too short! (Of course, so are babies' attention spans) I think this book is a great baby shower or 'new baby' present. Their first book, what could be a better gift?

I used to work with children's books, and have probably tried 100 books out with my 2 1/2 month old. This is the only book she LOVES to look at that doesn't have moving parts. Sure, she likes to listen to other books, but this is the one that is visually exciting to her. I can prop it up for her to look at and she keeps staring, transfixed, even as I go run to get the phone or whatever. The folks who complain that it bores them or their older babies have missed the point. Bold black and white books like this are for very young babies, when their vision and brains are still developing. No, it doesn't tell a story; that is not the purpose of this book. It is all looking at an interesting shape. No, these aren't the most common things in your child's life; this is perfectly appropriate, because they wouldn't be able to connect any shape, object and word this young even if you tried. No, you won't use it for years, or even a whole year, probably. I think less than $10 is not too much to pay for something that is going to get my child excited about interacting with books from day 1. Plus so much is overwhelming as a new baby/parent, and this is one thing that you can definitely enjoy together. I am planning on giving Black & White, which I think is the fold-out version, as baby gifts from now on.

Newborn babies' vision is not highly developed. High-contrast patterns or pictures are easiest for them to see in the first few months of life. Tana Hoban's black & white board books are terrific choices. With simple illustrations of objects that will be familiar to babies, this book meets all my criteria for choosing books for babies. the posture pro is an excellant item however i was expecting a little more firmer support.

it is very flexable and seems to 'give' more than i had hoped. also, when you put it around

your chair at the level indicated in the photo provided by the company, it does not stay in

that position. it slides down to the lower part of the chair. but all in all, i am pretty

having the posturepro lumbar support has made a big difference in how i sit and perform at my desk.it makes things easier for me as far as the comfort level in working the keyboard on my computer and writing reports.the tension that i was feeling is gone.

I purchased this to add some lumbar support to the less than stellar driver's seat in my 2004 Prius. While the product description does say "car seat" the images and main description suggest it was intended mostly for desk chairs..which I think is the case. None the less, it does seem to work OK in my Prius as far as providing lumbar support.

I was also concerned b/c several of the reviews said that the item collapsed upon first use and was flimsy and useless. I found it to be well made, robust and seems to be quite durable. It provides good support.

I work in an office and sit at a desk for the majority of my day. I am a large man (6'4" and about 275lbs) and loved this product for the first couple of days. I noticed an immediate improvement in my back pain... But sadly, the mess has lost most of its tension and no longer provides support for my back... I would not recommend to others that will be in a chair most of their workdays. If the product allowed for adjustments so that I could increase the tension, it would probably be a different review.

I have them in my car and at my desk. I like that the firmness never feels hard, they don't squash down like pillows and they aren't hot. My patients love them too. They are especially helpful managing pain post-laminectomy. And while this vendor was very quick in delivery, i have to say I like it better when I can find them at Walgreen's.
