Replacement Batteries
I'll try to sum it up without getting too long winded....ordered battery on 4.21.10, ETA 4.27.10 - 4.30.10, package arrived 5.3.10. That in an of itself is incredible since i'm in Sacramento and they're in southern California. It's not uncommon to have orders coming out of SoCal arrive to me in 2-3 days so I was blown away that it took 6 business days for my order to arrive (which is actually 8 business days because USPS works on Saturdays too). So that's problem #1. Problem #2 is that the "package" that arrived was a plain jane white envelope, that's it! The envelope had a corner ripped off that is roughly the size of the battery, which was not in the envelope. On the face of the envelope was a sticker from the postmaster that stated "item received unsealed" and "item received without contents."
I promptly contacted the company and they didn't apologize for the shoddy packaging or the inconvenience they caused me, and made me feel like I was bothering them from handling more important things. I asked them if they could expedite the shipping, they said no...which is funny because they charged me $3 shipping on the original order yet when the envelope arrived it had a postage stamp on it totalling 61 cents. Not only was the response a resounding "No!" but I was told "we're already paying for the postage on the secondary order." As if they were doing me a favor by correcting their mistake. Then it took another week and a half to get what I had paid for nearly 3 weeks previous. This time the battery did make it and it was in a padded envelope as I suggested (not sure why I had to suggest that, but ok)...who's the brainiac who decided it's a good idea to ship a loose battery in a regular white envelope?
It gets better! When I opened the envelope the battery looked used, which kind of threw me off because the listing clearly states it's for a new battery. Having no use of my phone for the past 2 weeks I decided to let that go, I was just happy to be up and running again except for one problem.....when I put the battery in my phone wouldn't even power up! So I put it on the charger and the damn thing is so dead that it doesn't even show the charging screen!! It just says "Please wait" and keeps flashing repeatedly for at least an hour. Now i'm pissed, thinking this battery is shot, but after about 3-4hrs it showed full charged so I tested it out. You're not gonna believe this but I was able to talk on the phone for about 20 minutes and sent/received about 30 texts before the battery died on me!!!!! I was so pissed at this point that I just took the battery out, tossed it in the garbage where it belongs along with the company that sold it to me, and went to AT&T and bought a new battery from them. Obviously, trying to save a buck ($30 in this case) costed me $16 more! Not to mention the loss of use of my phone for 2 weeks and the headaches that caused. I will NEVER do business with these clowns again, their customer service is non-existent and their product is even worse, if that's possible. LG Vu Cu915 Cu920 Battery Lgip-580a 1000mah
My girlfriends phone kept dying over and over so i figured it was the battery. I bought this battery it came fully charged and the phone has not had a single problem charing or staying on for long periods of time. Great buy
This battery does not hold a charge. With fully charged battery overnight, the phone only turns on for only a few minutes. I have two identical LG Vu phone, so I am sure it is not a phone problem.
Logged complain with customer service, got ticket number and a question asking whether I want to return it or get a replacement. Got no response after telling them I needed a replacement. Don't know how to start replacement process (i.e., whether need a replacement pre-authorization, ... etc). It's been 3 days now, still waiting for results...
amazon is horrible! I paid $10 for a battery for my phone and it has been three weeks and I still have not received it. I cant even use my cell phone because the battery is completly dead, I finally had to buy one from ebay. Thanks for stealing my money.
What can I say? It's a new battery. Batteries wearout. How long will it last? I do not know. I assume it will last as long as the first one..(about 20 months). Great price tho. I hope it's not as cheap a product as its price.'

Sony 1080p Flash Camera - camcorder, bloggie
Amazon is obviously filled with fake reviews from either fanboys or competing company employes. I bought this camera, and even reviewed it, compared it to other cameras like the Kodak zi8 (search google for "letsfindjesus bloggie" to find videos of my review). The Sony is the best under $200 camcorder on the market. Its auto focus is quick, the colors are rich and accurate, and the mono mic actually sounds good. It has a built in usb plug (which is also used to charge) and pretty good face detection. The still camera (unlike the pocket cams) actually takes decent 5 megapixel photos. It has a playback speaker which is loud enough. The 5X optical zoom is smooth, and the digital zoom is well... a digital zoom. Bottom line, for the price the picture quality and build is mighty good.
There is some negatives, I listed them below, none are deal breaking.. more of a wish list. The biggest feature missing for me is Steady Shot (image stabilization) on the 1080p and 720/60 frame modes. The Kodak zi8 has this, but it looks like crap on 1080p so I guess I would rather not have this feature if the hardware is too slow to process the steady shot. Which is why im guessing Sony didnt include this feature on the higher quality modes.
Pros:
-Very acceptable video quality
-Good sounding mic
-GREAT accurate colors
-5X optical zoom
-for once a decent still camera
-quick zoom
-SD memory card capable and Memory Stick Pro Duo
-Record and upload.. its in a format that just.. Works.
-Mac and PC friendly
Cons:
-Battery lasts a little over an hour (buy an extra!)
-Steady Shot is only on 720P (30 Frames/sec) and VGA
-lens cap instead of hardware lens open/close
-mic is mono (but its not bad)
-no manual focus
-low light (like all low cost camcorders) isnt the best, and the focus is slow/struggles in low light Sony MHS-CM5 bloggie HD Video Camera (Violet)
I bought the CM5 after trying out a couple of other HD camcorders. I just wanted a basic, easy-to-use camcorder that films in 1080p and was easy to upload to YouTube, Facebook, etc. This camera met all those requirements. It is very easy to use, takes great quality video and uploading to YouTube was a snap with the included software. I've never been a BIG fan of Sony's imaging products because they use the Memory sticks but this camcorder will accept either the Memory sticks OR SD cards. It was easy to setup. The camera has software built-in (like the Flip does) but it also comes with a more feature filled version that you can install on your computer. It transfers and uploads easily. The only drawback is that it won't stand up on its own whereas, based on the location of the flip-out USB connection, you would "think" that it should. It has froze a couple of times but not while recording, only when trying to turn it off. I had to pop the battery out and back in and it worked fine again. Certainly not a deal-breaker for me. The mic is good also despite being a mono mic. The camera has an image stabilization feature but it is NOT available at 1080p. That being said, I did not encounter too much shaking (that wasn't my fault) when filming in 1080p. Nice things about this camera vs the Flip (as that is obviously what it's trying to compete with): it films in 1080p/30fps (no Flip does that), it has removable memory (SD or Memory sticks)so you can bring along extra memory, and it has a removable battery (so you can bring along an extra battery without having to recharge it). The view screen is a little hard to see unless it's angled right at you. Other than that, I really like the camera. If you are a non-techie that wants an easy to use camera that films in 1080p, you should get this camera.
I bought this camera as we prepared to go on spring break. We didn't have a whole lot of time to figure things out before we left so we had to learn on the fly.
The good:
Lightweight, easy to use
Good picture quality overall
Color does shift with different light levels though
The bad:
An issue I found was with the image stabilizer. Honestly the images look better with it off. The picture is too jumpy and struggles to frame things up and focus with it on. Seems counter-intuitive but I can't explain it any other way.
The Ugly:
The Sony web site indicates the unit comes with a charger - wrong
In typical Sony style the customer service agent tried to imply to me that the charger was only included if I bought it directly from Sony. The problem is that if you intend to travel and do not have a computer to hook the USB cable up to you are out of luck for charging the battery. After multiple calls to Sony pointing out their website is wrong I finally gave up and called the local Sony Style Store. The manager looked up the website info and agreed that it was wrong. He had me come by the store and gave me the charger needed to charge the battery without a computer. A huge thanks goes out to him, I hope Sony corp customer service can learn something from this.
Amazon buyers please be aware your package will not include a battery charger. It will only have the USB cable to charge the camera.
Overall:
Don't expect quality on par with a $1000+ camera. But as far as this camera goes it's pretty good and a good value
For those of you that think $200 will get you results of a $1500 video camera, you can forget that! For the price, this is an excellent camera. It's small, easy to use, starts up quickly, and takes great video. It does struggle in low light, but most cameras do. The picture looks great on my Sony 1080P TV.
A great feature the camera has is the ability to zoom while recording. Many point and shoot cameras do not allow.
As for it being 1080P. Of course it's not Blue Ray quality 1080P. But the resolution is there. It does have a sharper picture than the 720P Sony DSC-W290.
This camera is worth every penny. And this is coming from someone who installs home theaters for a living.
As for the review about the 1080P complaint. You need to learn that it's more marketing than anything. There is a difference between low cost 1080 sensors and expensive 1080 sensors. Yes it shoots great videos. No it's not as good as a high end $125,000 piece of equipment. And yes you will get better video if you spend $1500.
As for taking still images, it's your average camera phone quality. But that's what the DSLR is for. - Sony 1080p Flash Camera - Bloggie - Camcorder - 1080 Flash Camcorder'

I typically fish for steelhead 45-60 days a year. If there is a salmon season I will fish another 15-20. An average size steelhead this far from the ocean (I live in NE Oregon) is around 6 pounds. Salmon run 15 pounds or better. I have fished my Abu Garcia automag 2-Speed for 18 years and have really enjoyed it. So when it gave up the gears this last fall I had to buy a replacement. I wanted a baitcast reel with a thumb bar for quick, one handed casts, a larger line capacity, and something that would be durable as well. I got a 6501 for Christmas, to fish the Chinook run and fell in love with it, but I wanted a smaller reel for steelhead and bass fishing, so I bought the 6501's little brother. It casts like a dream, even with less weight, it has a smooth drag and plays big fish nicely. I landed 6 steelhead on it my first day out, from 6 to 11 pounds, in moderate flows (around 550 CFS), and it performed flawlessly. The next week the river was coming down off a blow out and had settled around 700 CFS. The lower gear ratio was perfect for cranking in hard fighting fish in the heavier spring flows. It was a lot of fun to fish and I'm looking forward to using it for bass as well. Abu Garcia 4601C3 Ambassadeur C3 Baitcast Round Reel (3 Ball-Bearing, Gear Ratio 5.3:1, Capacity 10/170, Left-Handed)
I am new to baitcasting reels and I am glad that I chose this reel. It's easy to use and it's rather fun casting it. I practiced/played with this reel in front of my house for days. Next I need to learn how to use lures.'

Record Player - home theater receivers, receiver
After trying a Denon, and two Yamaha's, I finally hit gold with the Pioneer VSX-820.
This is a superb receiver in all regards. It produces clear crisp sound in all modes.
There are no lip synch issues at all when linked to my HDTV. I had terrible lip synch problems with the Denon. It has all the features I need and more and has an excellent remote that is both intuitive and comprehensive. I use my receiver for CD's, FM radio and my Samsung HDTV. I use DishNetwork for my TV programming.
The VSX series is Pioneer's newest and includes several models all the way up to the 1120.
However, when you read the specs, all these receivers have the same tuner and power plant. The higher the model number, the more numerous the features. But no increase in output.
That makes for an easier buying decision. You don't compromise power for features if you chose a mid range model like the 820 or 920. I noticed that the Denon and Yamaha receivers I tried were made in China. The Pioneers are made in Japan. I'll go with Japan for high quality electronics every time. Pioneer has hit a homerun with this new series of receivers.
Update January 20,2011
My accolades now need to be tempered back. As with all 'features', they are only good
as long as they last. The IPOD interface on my VSX 820 died today in mid-song. I reviewed the manual and took the steps recommended, including resetting my IPOD with
no results. The IPOD works just fine. So I will no longer be able to hear my songs
thru my system but will instead have to be satisfied with just using the headphones.
Very disappointed with the lack of durability of this Pioneer receiver. Pioneer VSX-820-K 5.1 Home Theater Receiver
I have just completed an exhaustive search to replace my Panasonic SA-XR57 that was in my bedroom. I tried out two Onkyo TX-SR308 5.1-Channel Home Theater Receivers (both took way too long displaying anything on my TV via HDMI and could not do anything with the digital optical audio coming out of my satellite box) and a Sony STR-DN1000 7.1-Channel Audio Video Receiver (which was better with the HDMI connection to the TV although not altogether satisfactorily so and worked well with the optical connection but had a problem with the left surround output). After going through that many receivers within a two week period, I was nearly convinced to just give up. Fortunately, I went ahead and got the VSX-820. Although it's not perfect, it definitely has many good points
Pros:
- iPhone functionality is pretty good - you get basic functionality including the ability to stop and start and the on-screen display is functional (although by no means pretty - it's just text-based)
- audio set-up was amazingly easy and very quick
- at first the audio assignments to devices were a little confusing, but after reading the manual I kind of like how you set them up (by selecting the device you want to assign and then assigning it rather than going through a convoluted menu)
- the HDMI connection worked beautifully and quickly
- the optical digital audio worked flawlessly as well
Cons:
- does not upconvert anything, meaning that if it came in as composite it needs to go to the TV via a composite cable
- on-screen display menu requires a component connection instead of just going through HDMI
- iPhone connection in the front - this is more a personal preference, but I'd rather the connection be in the back and just have the cable available to plug in whenever. With it sticking out in front I'm concerned that someone will walk by it, hit it and break it off
- the cover over the front inputs seems cheap - almost better to have not put it there at all
All said, though, this receiver did exactly what I wanted it to when others did not and did it with ease.
I picked this up at a local retailer. Looks good and the sound is pretty good. Didn't seem much better or worse than my 10 year old Denon receiver it replaced (but that's not a bad thing). Video over HDMI looks good.
Setup is pretty usual for receivers, you will not understand many features and setup options unless you bother reading the instructions.
Few shortcomings with one that is very annoying:
1. The cover of the front USB and video/audio ports is not connected to the receiver - it's a piece of plastic that you have to take out completely if you want to hook up a USB device or any source to the front connectors. I wish it had a permanent connection because I can completely see it getting lost.
2. The receiver comes with a limited on screen menu to use the auto tuning of speakers and to set up the inputs and speakers. The problem is: you have to connect the receiver to the TV using an analog RCA cable to use it!!!! So if you have only digital sources and hoped to use HDMI as your only connection, be prepared to add another cable to the mix when you set up the speakers. Granted you don't need to use the on screen menu a lot but if you have difficult access to the back of TV and receiver like I have, it can become annoying. I don't understand what Pioneer were thinking.
3. Seems to have to crank up the volume much higher than I used to with my Denon receiver, but I guess this is something I will have to get use to.
Overall it is a great value, but I'm actually considering returning it and spending the extra $100 for the vsx-920-k so I won't have to use analog RCA cables ever again. - Pioneer - Home Theater - Receiver - Home Theater Receivers'

hardwood floor nailer - hardwood floor nailer
I used this stapler to put down ~400ft^2 of engineered hickory flooring. It was easy enough to setup. The adjustable cleat has lots of degrees of freedom, but once I set it up, it never moved or required any adjustment throughout the job. I like that the safety won't engage when the clip is empty preventing dry-fires. The drive depth was consistent from start to finish. I have an adjustable regulator on the hose end and once I dialed it in, I never had to touch it even after starting/stopping over multiple evenings. Though the magnesium makes it light, it still feels solid and well built. I'm happy with my purchase. Bostitch EHF1838K Engineered Hardwood Flooring Stapler
Worked for about ten feet of BR-111 5/16" thick chestnut flooring before dying on me. Trigger wouldnt pull and nose was stuck in. My PSI was set at 62 pounds, the staples used were the ones that came with the kit and I set up the gun quickly using the supplied directions. Called Bostitch for support and they directed me to an authorized warranty center (Apollo Power Equipment in Niles Illinois) to have the gun looked at. Went there at 10:15AM and left about 11:30 with the gun fiddled with but NOT repaired. Called the vendor who sold me the gun (SpeedyNails) and they said they would not replace the gun and that it was a warranty issue. Took it to Pro-Mar in Chicago and fixed it in about 15 minutes. Got back to jobsite and used it successfully for about three hours before I had to leave for the day. I was impressed with how quiet it was and how the staples drove in cleanly and consistently. However, the safety button on the side of the gun didnt seem to want to stay in "fire" mode and clicked off with the slightest touch. It was quite maddening to have to pull the gun away from the work, flip the safety and then re-engage to the work to fire more staples. It should have a more clear detent position on or off. Hooked it up this morning and it died again with the same symptoms after about an hour and a half of use. I briefly considered frisbeeing it from the 25th floor. Bostitch is sending me another gun to replace this one and I hope it works better. I've never had ANY issue with my other Bostitch nail and staple guns. I will update this review after I've received and used the replacement.
I used this stapler on Bella Wood 3/8" solid hardwood maple. It was hard to find a tool that would work with this material. I tried a similar Bostitch stapler that used 20ga staples and one leg of the staple would curl up. The 18ga 1" staples with this tool worked perfectly through the new hardwood over 3/8" luan over 3/4" pine sub-floor. The tool is only setup to work down to 7/16" but I removed the protective plastic covers on the boot and it set the angle and fit right where it needed to be. The 80# air pressure worked well for my application and I did not have to set any of the staples manually.
I recently purchased this stapler to put down 500 square feet of engineered wood. The stapler is easy to setup for the thickness of the flooring and performed flawlessly. 2500 staples later my arm is still attached to the rest of my body due to the lightweight and ergonomic handle. Well done Bostich!
I bought this air nailer for a small 200 sf solid oak hard wood floor and i had no problems at all as long as you set the fences to the right hight for what size boards your using it was very easy to use and sank all the nails to the proper depth
This gun makes the job so much easier.
I did 140 Sq Feet in 4h. on my first project. It is little hard to hold the gun tight to a panels, but plastic block make a great push block for the floor panels. Take little of my time to adjust the foot, but after good setup not a single misplacement of staples. I will buy this product again 100%.
The quality of tool is great, and design is great, when I used with 1/2 solid bamboo nailing to 3/4 OSB the 18 gauge staples had a hard time, they kept curling up, and some cases curled up through the floor itself, did not set good at all. I am going to try the MIIIFS with 15.5 gauge staples to see if it will perform any better. 18 gauge staples are just too thin for this application.
Easy to use, which was good, since there was no manual included, and I purchased a brand new unit.
Works very well, although I had to purchase shorter staples; I installed bamboo engineered flooring, and there didn't seem to be enough power to drive a 1 3/8" staple, but I think that was more a function of the bamboo being very hard wood. The staple would go 2/3 of the way in, but then the top of the staple would crumple on top of itself. My compressor would only go to 120 pounds of pressure, I think higher pressure would have taken care of this in one shot.
The flooring is a click together system, and didn't need staples, but I really wanted the floor to feel very solid.
This tool works great. Just layed about 500 square foot of flooing without any issue or trouble from the Bostitch stapler. I think the bad reviews that customers have wrote about this product is a classic case of, YOU HAVE TO BE SMARTER THAN THE TOOL YOU ARE WORKING WITH. - Hardwood Floor Nailer'

Garmin Nuvi Case - gps carrying case, garmin nuvi 780
There are two types of GPS carrying cases out there. There are small, light, clip-to-your-belt cases that are good for carrying your unit when you leave the car for a while, and don't want to leave your GPS behind to tempt thieves. But it's also nice to have a safe and sturdy place to store your GPS between trips. This just might work for you.
I use the case to hold my NUVI and a spare power cord. The cigarette lighter adapter on my main cord self-destructed once, and since then I've always carried a spare with me. The main power cord I leave attached to my beanbag-like "Garmin portable friction mount" (a must-have item for NUVIs, much better than a suction cup on your windshield), and just wind it a couple of times around the base. The friction mount, and this case, stack up nicely on a shelf until I need them, and then I have only two things to grab and take with me.
One reviewer mentioned the suction cup mount won't fit inside the case along with the NUVI and power cord. I threw mine away, so I can't say either way. If you are still using the suction cup, and want to stow it with your GPS, this case probably isn't for you. But if you use the friction mount, and want to bring a spare power cord handy, this works great. HDCSXL: Extra Large Hard Shell Case For Garmin, TomTom, Mio GPS with 4.3" Screen
Case is hard shell for protection. The photo appears to show what looks like a Garmin Nuvi to me with the adaptor and dash mount tucked neatly in the pocket of the case. Forget it. There is probably enough room for it all, but unless your dash mount folds flat it does not fit as shown. Even removing the GPS clip from the swivel ball mount, you are still left with the rigid ball arm and base that simply does not fit as shown. If you try and use the storage pocket, you simply cannot close the case as the suction base presses on the unit. Can you make it fit? Sure, by sticking the suction base along side the GPS unit itself and not using the pocket as shown and somewhat forcing the case closed. Don't know about other makes, but I do not recommend whatsoever for Garmin Nuvi.
While this is a great protective case and will keep your Nuvi fairly safe, the photo used to promote the item is misleading. I like the unit but I have a Garmin Nuvi 765 and just a s the previous poster wrote the windshield mount will not fit in the case properly. The mount has a rigid ball as part of the mount and that is the piece that will not safely fit in this case. Yes you can force it but that is taking a chance that if you drop the case it will press upon your screen and possibly damage it. Otherwise it's an excellent case and will allow you to store most of the other components you need to take store. The area you see in the photo with the net mesh is where you store the accessory items. Good solid material and well manufactured, strong zipper. I give it 3 stars more if the photo was changed.
Bill
This case was exactly what I was looking for. I have a 4.3" TomTom plus the power cord and traffic antenna. Everything fit nice and snug. The case does come with an insert that is intended to cradle the gps but I had to take it out to fit everything in. The insert would perhaps come in handy if I had a smaller gps unit. Overall I would recommend this product.
I bought this case for my TomTom 340 XL after much deliberation and reading a lot of reviews. It holds the TomTom perfectly and seems to cradle it protectively in the soft foamy indentations for it. My cord with the traffic unit fits in the mesh pocket inside the case. So both my TomTom and the cord that it needs to use it fit nicely inside this case!
I bought this for my tom tom with 4.3" screen. There is JUST enough room for the mount, power cord and unit to fit snugly in the case even with the little removable insert. Nice sturdy case for the price which was one of the lowest prices I could find.
I have a Garmin Nuvi 780 (4.3" screen) and it fits fine. The case has plenty of space, though doesn't fit all the cords and accessories (picture may be deceiving; depends on model/size of cords/type of mount). This case will comfortably hold the GPS, USB cable, plus other small accessories. It does not hold the window mount (suction cup) or power adapter (my model) without cramming.
The case is tough, but not a true 'hard shell'. The zipper and stitching are fine. With the removable inner padding/cradle the GPS unit will be thoroughly protected. The inner mesh pocket is good, but not stitched straight across. The shell itself is not padded on the inside.
My main gripe is that there is not a second elastic band to hold the GPS in its side of the case. This means that when you open the case the GPS could fall out. So what I've done is move the inner padding into the mesh pocket and place the GPS unit in there, but now this means the accessories won't be held in place on the other side.
Overall it is still a good product, especially for the low price. Other cases I've seen have only enough space for the GPS unit alone. I wanted some additional space, so this case works for me. There's enough space you could have two units in the one case. - Case - Garmin Nuvi 780 - Gps Carrying Case - Garmin Nuvi Case'

Playstation 3 - bad company, battlefield
DICE Sweden has produced one amazing engine. They already have mastered the gameplay in past games. The new frostbite engine is as good as it gets for FPS. After playing for a couple of hours, it is impossible to play other FPS like COD4. Why bother to climb up to take down the sniper, when you can take down the tower with a RPG. There is no annoying boundaries, every thing can be opened up. When the map is not rigid it is lot more fun to play.
It is easy for anyone appreciate the video quality. Iam more amazed by the engines audio strength. Every gun, explosion, terrain sounds unique. Even the sound transition of passing vehicles in combat is reproduced impeccably.
The game is very accessible too. With lot of respawn points, it is easy to get along when you make a mistake.
I like the witty British/Swedish writing. Story line and the twist is very well handled. This game will be a strong contender for FPS of the year. Battlefield: Bad Company
Battlefield: Bad Company is a fun game to play. Right away I noticed the game has probably the best sounds of combat I have ever heard in a game. From the sounds of weapons firing to the sounds of armored vehicles running, the game is great to listen to. The sounds of mortar shells coming down and exploding around you is just unbelievable. When I walk through forests and fields, I can actually hear the sounds of birds chirping, dogs barking, and cows mooing.
The graphics in the game are just great too. I love looking at the water in streams and rivers. It looks very real. The forests and villages in this Eastern European setting are really beautiful to look at in this game.
I like how you can jump in different vehicles to drive around in and there is a car radio in the vehicle to listen to while you are driving around. There are several different radio stations to listen to. I love the music in this game.
The AI in this game is pretty smart. When enemy soldiers see me, they immediately run and hide behind something. They have try to out flank me and they have tried to sneaked behind me a few times. I love the part where a enemy soldier runs into a building to hide from you and you can use your weapon to blow a good size hole into a building to waste the enemy soldier. It is also so much fun to just take your weapon and shoot down all the trees that enemy soldiers are hiding behind. You can do so much damage to the terrain with your weapons in this game.
The maps to this game are huge. The maps are ten times bigger than the maps to Call of Duty 4. I love the sandbox settings to this game where you can go any where on the maps.
I highly recommend getting this game. Battlefield: Bad Company is a fun game to play and the game has a lot of replay value to it.
I heard this was going to be great, so I got it right away. I'm pleased to report it is as fantastic as people expected. You can destroy everything in your sight! You can drive tanks and jeeps and helicopters, everything. The online mode is smooth and easy compared to MGS4. Makes COD4 seem dumb for not having rumble, destructible environments or vehicles. There's going to be a lot of action on the Bad Co servers this summer! Get in on it!
01/01/09: I have to say, I have gotten a bunch of games since this one, and I had a lot before I got this one. I have 11 or 12 games for PS3. Hands down, this is still my favorite game and I highly recommend it at this new low price. This is the BEST game for PS3 and you must have it. Do not hesitate. You couldn't spend $30 towards your system and get more for the money! I still have not played the actual game portion of this. I play ranked quickmatches and that's so satisfying I haven't even tried the story. Also, they added a capture the flag type multiplayer version to it and I haven't even tried that! The ranked quickmatch is worth the money alone. This game is awesome. Get it!
Comparing BBC and COD4 is closer to apples and oranges, but because they are both military shooters, they will be compared constantly. The truth is, they are both great games.
Here is my take on Battlefield Bad Company:
BBC has a great use of vehicles, they fit the battlefield well, are not too powerful and are fun to operate. The only one that doesn't work well for most people is the chopper - it takes forever to master.
All of the classes are fun to use. The sniper in COD4 is frustrating and on some boards is just about impossible to use. BBC makes sniping fun again.
The single player game is awesome in a completely different way than COD4. It is laugh out loud funny and simply a blast to play, blowing everything in sight up without constantly worrying about how much ammo you have. It is much more fun than realistic.
BBC Multiplayer places a greater emphasis on teamwork. It may sound silly, but the support role, the dependance upon others for a ride to the fight, and how the roles mesh together make for a much more rewarding experience when it clicks. If however you are thrown in with a bunch of newbies who don't know how to play in a team, it can be frustrating. Once I was on a team of 12 and I counted 7 snipers on one board. No one was attacking the crates. But as people start to get the feel for it, it gets more and more fun. I actually listen for the support guys to yell, "Here, patch yourself up!" and start looking around for the kit. Also, I have scored very high scores by just playing the support role and fixing vehicles and being a medic. The cool thing is that you can pass out first aid, then raise a heavy machine gun and finish off guys to boot. Awesome stuff.
Additionally, the battelfield atmosphere is outstanding. The buildings and such are nowhere near as detailed as COD4, but when artillary strikes come down around you and you lose your ability to hear and focus, but find a hole or corner to hide in to ride it out, there is no doubt that combat must be similar to that.
A couple of real challenges that I wish had been addressed. There is only one multiplayer mode with two sides. Attacker and Defender. There are several maps, but most of them feel very similar. I wish there were some deathmatch modes, or other creative match structures. Rumor has it that they are releasing a new game mode later this summer. So we'll see.
Another thing is that while the grenade launchers are awesome to blow holes in things, they are worthless for trying to kill guys. I realize that they couldn't make the grenade launcher too powerful, but you should be able to take guys out with it. I have occasionally landed one perfectly, but usually it is only good for light vehicles or taking out walls.
The final problem is that there is no split screen or co-op mode. I love in COD4 to take on my son head to head. Sometimes we even just run around in the maps looking for nooks and crannies to hide in. But in BBC, that isn't available. Hopefully in the future, co-op mode will just be a given in military shooters.
This game is a must buy for shooter fans. The single-player game is worth the price, but the multiplayer is where it shines. I love both COD4 and BBC. To only choose one of them would be to rob yourself of the other. If you love military shooters, these two are both great. - Action Game - Bad Company - Battlefield - Fps'

Kindle Lighted Leather Cover - kindle accessory, kindle 3 covers
I've noticed that like myself customers have been concerned primarily with two things regarding the new lighted case from amazon. These are: 1)The weight and 2) The uneven lighting. My review will briefly discuss these two things.
1)The Weight - The lighted leather case is a nice weight, sturdy and comfortable to hold. In ounces it is about the weight of the kindle itself however don't let that concern you. With the case on it feels like a medium sized paperback, however it is far much more comfortable to hold. It's easy to hold the case open like a book (nice for couch and table type reading) or to fold the front back and close it with the bungee so that the bungee doesn't hang around (this is good for bedtime reading).Closing the front back with bungee keeps the case folded in position and you don't have to worry about it bothering you. BTW THIS CASE FOLDS BACK 100% - Very comfortable. In sum very comfortable to read with the case and very sturdy.
2) The uneven lighting - Amazon's pictures don't do this case justice. The light hits the ENTIRE screen. Yes if you look closely it's brighter in the top right corner then in the bottom left but Amazon's pics make it look the top is lighted while the bottom is dark. There is good light all over the screen. Trust me I'm fussy about these things - the lighting will not bother you, your entire screen will be lighted and it is extremely pleasant to read in the dark.
*Final Thoughts - Great case, good quality, works well, kindle feels very secure and protected (I would feel comfortable slipping this case into my backpack or suitcase and I think it would sustain some mild impact). Lastly hinges are a non-issue, casing of the kindle will not get damaged with normal or even slightly aggressive use. You could damage the kindle by trying to pull the back of the case but you'd have to really force it to cause any sort of damage to your kindle. The hinges work fine and should not be a concern to any case user.
Update 1st December 2010:
Have now been using the case for 3 months. Leather still looks impeccable. Some people expressed concern that the bungee cord might loosen with use. I have not experienced any loosening so far. Quality of the product has proven outstanding. I've occasionally spilled or messed the cover, just a wipe with a damp cloth has cleaned it up, and the case looks like new. Have to admit I enjoy the feel of the case in my hand, there's just something great about taking your kindle to a coffee shop in this case, it just looks and feels so classy. Also with regard to the hinges: I have had no scratches on my kindle or any other issues, so I remain convinced that the hinges are a non issue. Kindle Lighted Leather Cover, Black (Fits 6" Display, Latest Generation Kindle)
I was hesitant to buy this cover mostly due to the pictures in its listing, which seem to show a light that doesn't even extend to the opposite corner. The fact that I have not been impressed with the Amazon's Kindle covers in the past didn't help. I went ahead and purchased it because the cover I wanted isn't available yet and I don't like to take my Kindle out and about without a cover. Now I am glad that I went ahead and bought it.
PROS:
1. The light is much better than I thought it would be. Using it in a darkened room I found that the light did the job very well. In a pitch black room, it performs even better. While the screen corner opposite the light is a bit dimmer than other areas, there is no problem reading the page at all.
2. The light gets its power from the Kindle itself, through the gold-plated hinges which attach it to the cover, so batteries are a thing of the past. When your Kindle goes to sleep, the light will go out as well. It will also turn off when you slide it back into the case.
3. The cover is slim, well-fitted and very easy to attach and detach using the hinges. The inside has good padding. The leather outer surface has a nice pebbled texture with the exception of a smooth area along the edge of the front. While stiff enough to protect the reader, the cover is slight flexible and the front easily folds behind when reading so you can hold your Kindle with one hand if you like.
4. A great plus is that the cover has an elastic cord that fits into a groove on the front of it. This holds your cover closed (unlike the original Kindle 2 cover that would flop open in your purse & let things slide into it) and easily distinguishes the front from the back--important as many owners of the Kindle 2 cover accidentally opened it from the back, which could cause cracking along the Kindle's spine.
CONS:
I haven't found any, really. The light Is a bit hard (stiff) to pull out of the cover, but then you wouldn't want it to be flopping out when you don't want to use it so that is more of a Pro than a Con.
The one concern I do have is about pulling the light in and out--I wonder if whatever wiring or conductor that is used to get the power from the hinges to the light will eventually break. But that is something to find out down the road. Right now, the more I use this cover, the more I like it. - Kindle Lighted Cover - Kindle 3 Covers - Kindle Accessory - Book Light'

Sony Camcorder Charger - sony battery charger, electronics
It does the job and is a low profile device. I never like charging anything "in camera" because I don't like to leave my camera out and about, tethered to a cord plugged into my wall. This charger makes it easier to keep things "neat" as well as permits charging one battery while using the camcorder (assuming you have a spare battery). Sony BCTRV Travel Charger (Black)
Small and compact. Fits right into the plug. Battery fits perfect. Wish the lights were on top. Can't see them standing next to it to tell if it is fully charged. I guess you would hook it up to a kitchen outlet that is more eye level. Other than that, works great! I am happy i bought it. Used it several times already. Owned for 3 months.
AC cord in picture is not included in package. It is not needed, plugs directly into wall outlet. Prongs fold out of the way for easy portability. I appreciate its compact size and it will fit nicely into my small video bag. I have found that it will work OK with Sony "equivalent" batteries also. Three LED indicator shows level of charge.
Great item for traveling. It is easy to pop out and charge a battery while on the road along with an adapter for your car power terminal. Very compact and fits nicely in a small camera bag. Recommended for those who travel around with their camera.
This makes it so easy to charge the battery. I hate getting out the power cord and having to try to charge the battery while using the camera. It was always so ineffective. This makes it so much easier!
This little charger is great, it shows a 3 bar light graph to let you know where it is in the charge. The picture is wrong, it doesnt need that cord they show, it has folding prongs that plug into wall socket, this makes it compact. - Sony Battery Charger - Charger - Electronics'

Surge - surge protector
A lot of small electronics have transformer boxes on the plug and most surge protectors don't handle them well. Before the Power Squids and other iterations, the round Kensington Smart Sockets surge protector was the only one to solve the problem - and it's still the BEST.
One advantage it has over the others is simply the way it looks. It's sharp. It's small. It can be tucked away behind your equipment or it fits nicely in the desktop. You can use it for small equipment (dictation machines, pencil sharpeners, music players, etc.) without having to get under the desk to run cords and plug things in.
Another feature is the 16' long cord. It's a great solution when there's an unused socket too far for your cords to reach (like the one two cubicles away).
This is a great tool.
One thing Amazon doesn't mention is that when these first came out, they cost over $70. The current list price is an improvement - the Amazon price is a bargain. Kensington 62634 SmartSockets 6-Outlet 16 Foot Cord Table Top Circular Color Coded Power Strip and Surge Protector
Pros:
* Heavy enough to stay where you put it.
* Cord long enough to be useful.
* More aesthetically pleasing than the long beige strips.
Cons:
* Octopus style wiring does not support most cord organization strategies.
* Pricey.
This table top power strip was perfect for our conference room and the long cord was a plus. We have 2 ten-foot tables in our conference room and it is able to sit in the middle of the tables with enough cord without having to add an extension. And the added colored sockets make it easy for associates to know what plug is theirs. In all I give it a 5 star rating!
I've been using this for a while now on the recommendation from a fellow memeber of a sewing club. I can run a lot of things off this to help with my sewing needs--lamps, different machines, iron, etc.
If you need additional outlets for any area of your house/work room this is a good one.
for college your allowed 1 power strip well it would be nice if you could use every oulet on the powerstrip and on a round one you can. Its absolutely perfect. Then you get these color strips to mark your cords to match your outlet so its just great. My roommates just went online to amazon to order the same ones because the strip ones they could only use 3 out of the 8 outlets and with computers and printers phones hairdryers etc more is a necessity.
My wife was looking for something stylish, yet functional and well-made. This (albeit pricey) power strip fits the bill. It's very attractive, doesn't scratch the glass countertop, and holds plugs very securely. We'd but another one if/when we need it. I can see my wife already looking around the house at all of the other less attractive, and "old" power strips....
I have a lot of electronics (computers, television, video game systems, etc.) and I also live in a very old house so the fuses blow quickly. I love this product because not only is it discreet in its slim design but also because it works fantastically, the colors help me remember what is plugged into what, and the cord length (though excessive for small spaces) is perfect for a larger space where the outlet may not be near the electronics. I was looking at the "powramid" but I am glad I ordered this one instead. It is solid and stays in place, and I also love that the on/off switch is not easily pressed. With my other/ older power strips, I found that the slightest movement would often flip the switch off, which I found very annoying. With the SmartSockets power strip, I do not have this problem. It is a great product. I just ordered 2 more!
This is a nice try, but unfortunately, this item requires all the plugs to fit outside the circle making it very big when you have 6 transformers plugged in. I use the ezSpace UFO. The plugs face the middle and all my wired can be grouped together for a very neat efficient fit.

External Hard Drive - storage cases, case
I picked this up with a Freeagent GO drive when Amazon recently had both on sale. I have 3 Freeagent GO drives, and 3 different cases!
The first case is the one included with the dock - Nice and simple, but not very much protection. Very thin, but doesn't hold any cables. Should be included with the drive, not the dock.
The second case is the Caselogic THS-101 Portable Hard Drive Case (Black Houndstooth) - a very nice case (stylish, protection, extra space to hold cables, and feels nice).
Finally, I purchased this case - the VHS-101.
The VHS-101 is very similar to the THS-101, except it has a plain black design (opposed to black-on-black houndstooth). The feel is quite "rough" compared to the soft feel of the THS. Aside from that, they seem to be the same in terms of protection/size. The included pocket is nice, without adding too much extra bulk. Someone mentioned in another review that this space is big enough to hold a 2nd Freeagent drive, and I considered that a selling point (being able to carry 2 drives in 1 case -- awesome!). Unfortunately, it's such a tight fit that I wouldn't trust it - it also doesn't protect the whole drive (the top is exposed about 1").
The VHS has a blue colored inside (the THS has a tan color). I actually found the blue to be very ugly - I don't understand why they didn't just use black? I do like that the VHS uses a metal zipper with a hole on the end (the hole is good if you need to "lock" the case closed with a lock). The THS has a fabric zipper without a hole.
Overall, the case is good in terms of protection/size. It's not stylish like the THS, but it's not super ugly (well, the outside at least!). I don't care for the feel of the case very much, but again it could be work. If you're looking for a portable hard drive case (portable meaning 2.5" USB drive), this is about the best case out there (and believe me, I've looked). With that said, the very similar (but much nicer) THS-101 case gets the top choice. Spend a couple bucks more, you'll probably be happy you did! Case Logic VHS-101 Portable Hard Drive Case (Black)
Read the measurements for this carefully - because I didn't! This was suggested as "what people frequently buy" with the Seagate Expansion 750 GB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive ST907504EXA101 I just bought. You can even one-click to buy them together. Only this case is too small for that hard drive.
So if other people have "frequently" bough this case with that particular drive, they all must have been as annoyed as me to have to drive to the post office to return this $7 item.
For those of you for whom this case will fit your drive....it is a pretty flimsy case. It will protect the drive from scratches to the externer surface, but offers no padding whatsoever.
This case is absolutely terrific. I bought this because I wanted something to provide my storage unit. When I got it I was pleasantly surprised to find that it can accommodate not one, but two hard drives. This suits me just fine. I recently bought a Seagate 640GB and a Toshiba 500GB. The interior of the case is blue so it matches with the Toshiba, the Seagate I place it on the outside. So it is quite appropriate.
Thanks Caselogic.
This case is well constructed and looks slick. The pocket for the cable is a nice touch. However, be aware that it runs a little shorter than most other portable hard drive cases. The description says it fits a drive up to 5.2" long, which seems pretty accurate. My Seagate Expansion is 5.56", and I have to really squeeze it in to get it to fit. I have a lot of extra room on the sides, but none at all on top or bottom. Check your hard drive measurements to make sure this case will fit comfortably.
Two piddling complaints:
I don't personally like the yellow Case Logic tag when contrasted with the black case.
It would be great if there were two zippers instead of one.
I had been using a Western Digital My Passport Essential 500 GB External Hard Drive for about 2 years now without any cover or case. I am a student and am on the go a lot between classes, apartment, library, and coffee shops. I usually kept it in backpack during transport, and even with all the travel, I never had any problems with it.
For Christmas this year, I decided to buy a portable external hard drive as a gift for someone and figured it would be nice to get a case to go along with it (plus it was pretty cheap at 8 bucks). The inside of the Case Logic VHS-101 is a teal, greenish color, and the outside is a black color. I tried fitting a couple portable USB drives: Western Digital My Passport Essential 500 GB and Western Digital Elements 500GB; both fit just fine with a little bit of wiggle room. The outside has a little pocket to hold the USB cable. It feels very secure, I wouldn't worry about anything damaging it inside my backpack.
After getting this as a gift for someone else, I went ahead and ordered one for myself too. My USB has pretty much my whole life inside. I still don't think that it is essential, but it's nice to have some peace of mind having your USB drive protected.
The Case Logic VHS-101 portable hard drive case is very well designed, protects very well its content however, I had to return it. For some reason, when I bought my Seagate Expansion 705GB hard drive, this case was advertised as a good fit for the hard drive. It turned out to be way too small that the hard drive never fit. It might work for Seagate Expansion models of smaller capacity though. - Carrying Case - Hard Drive Case - Case - Storage Cases'

Speedo Goggles - goggle, swim gear
Here is a size chart for anyone thinking of buying these. This chart is directly from the Zoomers box.
Size C = Men 3.5-5; Women 4.5-6
Size D = Men 5.5-7; Women 6.5-8
Size E = Men 7.5-8.5; Women 8.5-9.5
Size F = Men 9-10; Women 10-11
Size G = Men 10.5-11.5; Women 11.5-12.5
Size H = Men 12-13; Women 13-14
I have a 9 1/2 size women's foot and the E fits just fine. So for me they have been true to size and fit to what they list on the side of the box. I hope this helps. FINIS Yellow Zoomers Gold (Size F)
Finis's product description is accurate for this fin. It has harder fin than the Zoomer blue, softer than Zoomer red and softer foot enclosure. It is much easier to put on than my old blue Zoomer. Size wise it is the same as the old zoomer, they tend to run smaller then described. If you have Flintstone feet like me, go one size up. I wear size 9.5E or 10D on shoes, I find size F will crush the top of my feet, size G fits a little long much more comfortable but not too large that it falls off while kicking. I still get little pinch marks on top of my feet but it is comfortable enough I can finish my entire fin set of laps and take them off quickly to switch to paddle, kick board etc.
They are great workout fins, excellent for leg strengthing without developing "chronic fin dependency".
I have been using these for a while now - They feel heavier than conventional flippers which is good for working my leg muscles. I find I get a very aerobic workout doing freestyle with these on, I'm a keen recreational swimmer 3-4 times a week and have to stop for a break after doing about 6 lengths with these (I can normally do 60 lengths without them without stopping).
They also fit will ... I'm a UK shoe size 45 (11.5) and have the F's 9-10 which must be USA sizing.
So in summary .. they make your legs work very hard and because they are short you can kick at your regular pace ... great for strengthening leg muscles and building stamina.
These short fins give my kicks more power and don't stub on the bottom of the shallow pool. I have high insteps, so they took a little breaking in. I used Aquafor on the tops of my feet before putting them on and that helped the most.
Got the fins 2 days ago and was finally test them out. They are perfect for me. I'm a novice swimmer... and needed help in positioning my feet properly also staying afloat when doing backstrokes... These are great... other than the fact they are BRIGHT Yellow they are quite comfortable and don't slip. I have a size 9 to 9-1/2 foot size F works just fine... doesn't slip at all and very comfortable.
PROS:
-Fit... nice not too snug but doesn't slip
-soft rubber... very comfortable
CONS:
-SMELL!!!! wow... as soon as I open the box the smell of factory rubber was quite strong... it wore off after the first swim but WOW!
-YELLOW!... I feel like a DUCK!
Conclusion:
-I highly recommend it. It gives you the quality you need and for a decent price.
Finis Zoomers provide an extra dimension to your swimming routine. A little extra variety makes swimming more fun, and that's a good thing! It takes only a few minutes to get used to the fins. My favorite stroke to use them on is back stroke. It really gives a good workout. I can really feel my muscles working.
I own the blue Zoomer fins, tried out red Zoomer fins in the past, and recently saw a gal with yellow Zoomer at the pool and asked her to let me try them out. The yellow Zoomers have a harder fin than the blue Zoomer fins, but softer than red Zoomer fins. The fit was similar to blue zoomer. Translation: the official chart runs small.
I ordered blue fins, size D. I wear size 7 shoe. Size D was rated up to size 8 for women so I figured they would work ok for me.
I could pull them on with effort, but in the water I was in a lot of pain all over (toes, top of the foot, back of the foot) since the fin + water put additional pressure. I had to return and get the next size E and they are comfortable. They are in no danger of falling off, it takes effort to pull them off by hand.
Note on exchange: Amazon made the exchange easy, but it cost me extra to pay return shipping which was over $6.
Once I exchanged the fin for the next size up, they are very comfortable and don't hurt my feet even after a long work out.

Toe Nail Clipper - toe nail clipper
I got this product to nip off the pointy ends of 16D nails that were poking through my side of a common fence from my neighbor's property. The product broke on its first use--the bolt holding the cutters together came loose. Would not recommend this for use on 16D nails even though it is advertised as being able to handle them. Malco SNCXXX Siding Nail Cutter
I just received this item thinking it would be good for any hard-to-reach stubborn nail. When I pulled the tool out of the box, I immediately noticed the main pivot bolt/rivet was missing in the cutter head. I called Malco and they copped an attitude, so I'm returning the cutter for a refund. From just a cursory look, they don't look as though they'd cut very good anyway based on their design. I think a pair of pruning shears would work just as good...maybe better! Caveat emptor! - Toe Nail Clipper'
