World War Ii

This is history at its best. Roberts comes to the job of reviewing World War II with a great perspective on the major decision-makers in the early days of the war, Churchill, Roosevelt, Marshall and Alan Brooke, in his earlier book, Masters and Commanders. These great leaders faded in importance as Hitler made his single most fateful decision, to attack the Soviet Union in the summer of 1941. This ultimately cost Russia more than half of all the fatalities in the war, more than 25 million human souls, but it bled the German armies of their vital strength. Apart from minor victories, the German army never again won a major battle. Roberts has a sweeping command of facts, many of which were new to me. In addition, his opinions are well argued and easy to follow. This is a wonderful book, so well thought through and so well written. The Storm of War: A New History of the Second World War

I have been a history buff for most of my life. Strange as it may sound for a doctor, history is my most favorite subject. I had never heard of Dr Andrew Roberts before, now I know what I had been missing. His recent book is a tour de force. His basic argument about the monumental mistakes that led to the German defeat in WW II are not new to those persons interested in WW II history; however, his analysis is superbly trenchant. This is a must read for anyone interested in WW II history. Yesterday Saturday the 18th of June, I saw Henry Kissinger on C-SPAN II saying that he was currently reading this book. Kissinger who in a previous life was a Harvard history professor before devolving into an unreconstructed, terribly insecure political hack, must have found something interesting in this brilliant book. Perhaps only a European, in this case an Englishman, could write such a book about WW II

T. Bah Tanwi, IV, MD

The prose is fine, but it is not as elegant as Jan Morris', nor as crisp as Paul Johnson's. There is too much use of the dash, and some sentences are simply too long, well over fifty words. One was nearly a hundred. But it's not the prose that makes this book important, it's the numbers.

Every major incident of the narrative is studded with statistics: 90,000 Germans surrender at Stalingrad, but only 9,626 returned home; at Kursk the Germans `shot 15,000 people, transported 30,000 for slave labour in Germany, destroyed 2,000 buildings...'; then at the battle of Kursk, the largest tank battle in history, the Germans lost half a million men, `as well as 3,000 tanks, 1,000 guns, 5,000 motor vehicles and 1,400 planes; of 21,000 Japanese defending Iwo Jima only 212 were left when they finally surrendered to the Americans, who had landed 30,000 - and lost 6,891 in the battle. At the end Roberts does some sums for us. The numbers speak more than a thousand words: over fifty million human beings were killed during the 2WW - six every minute.

This focus on numbers is important as it drills into our minds the horrific carnage of this conflict which towers over all the casualty figures of other wars since then. It is these numbing numbers of the Second World War that surely spurred Washington on to set up her 'soft' hegemony around the world, and makes the Pentagon invest more in military hardware than any of its rivals. It is these numbers then that are the grim backdrop to 'Pax Americana' from which the vast majority have benefited, especially Europeans. In this context all the liberal anti American sniping with its simplistic chants about oil seem out of of place. It is the Second World War that explains the US bases around the world, the saving of the world from war, not mere oil. Certainly mistakes have been made, but Roberts has helped us remember of how grim the world can become when evil men feel free to unleash the dogs of war.'

Hand Tools - woodworking, saw

Having own cheap-quality saws in the past, I was a bit skeptical when I saw this one, but for such a low price I decided it was worth a try. I was very pleasantly surprised with how quick and smoothly it cuts. I would almost say that it cut a little too fast, but that's just because I was so used to how slow my older saws cut. It took some getting used to, but now it is one of my favorite "sawdust makers"! :) Great Neck N2610 26-Inch Hand Saw-Wood Handle and Chrome Nickel Steel Blade - Woodworking - Saw - Hand Tools'

Highly Recommend - nailer, hitachi framing nailer

I have had my hitachi NR83A2 for about 3 1/2 years. I have used the NR83, which was a great gun, but who wants to keep going back to the compressor to adjust the air pressure when you can simply adjust the depth on the gun. I have not had any problems with the depth of drive, it works great. And the single fire, bump fire mechanism has never given me any trouble either, in fact, it is very handy to have if you are in a situation where you can't afford to have a double fire. Contrary to a previous review, you can mount a rafter hook on this gun. You just have to drill an extra hole where the magazine bolts to the gun. I got the hook off amazon as well, it is make by toolhangers inc., and it fits NR83A2 and a skilsaw. I have framed with a few other guns, namely the Porter Cable, I have used the Paslode powermaster plus, and I have used the Senco. But most of my experience is with this gun, and I can't see ever changing over. Once you put a rafter hook on it, this gun has it all, and lacks nothing. Only complaint, when you are nailing off with 8s, the 2nd clip will often ride up on the 1st clip, causing a jam, which is annoying when you are trying to go fast. But other than that, no complaints. If you want a true framing gun, get this one. I guarantee you if you walk onto any framing crew out here in California, you will see Hitachi's being used. Hitachi NR83A2 Round Head 2-inch to 3-1/4-inch Framing Nailer

I'm in the middle of building a 10X16 shed with this nailer. I've used it for the rough framing, nailing the sheathing, and framing trusses (lots of toe-nailing). I've had no problems with this tool - it does a fine job. I'm using the BC nails available on Amazon - 3&1/4 in framers (comes coated) and their 8d ring-shank galvanized for the sheathing.

No regrets about buying this - it's saved a world of time!

We're building a new home and during the framing stage I watched the framers use this gun all day long, day after day with no problems. When I asked them how they liked it, they said they would not use any other gun but this one. We're nearing the end of construction and I decided to tackle the rear deck myself (lots of money to be saved in doing so). I decided to take the plunge and buy my first pneumatic nail gun. I'm not a professional builder, but, I can tell you I do love this Hitachi framer. In fact, I'm so excited about it that I've ordered additional nailers and a stapler to put in my dream shop which is going up at the same time as the house. Actually, the shop is finished - something my sweet wife reminds me of each time we visit the building site. I keep telling her "We just have to maintian our priorities!"

I have been a professional carpenter for almost 15 yrs.now and I have used many guns. the NR83 IS by far the best out there. sadly its no longer made and has been replaced by the NR83A2(which is still an excellent gun by the way).ALL framers out there will agree 100%.I would NEVER trade my Hitachi For another brand. a few out there not familiar with these tools say they jam when loaded with 2 racks. of course they do because of the cheap way the nails are collated! dont blame it on the gun! I have never had a problem with this gun and will continue to use it until I retire from the trades. period.

I have owned this gun for 3 years. I am a professional remodeler and I use this gun 5 days a week. My best friend has owned an older model for 25 years without ever needing service. These guns are indestructable. I have dropped this gun off of roofs, onto concrete, off of ladders. Still works like the day I bought it. Like any nail gun, you have to learn how it works and find it sweet spot. Every gun fires differently. Once you get used to it, it will be second nature. It is best to only put one sleave of nails in at a time, otherwise they tend to get stuck together and cause a jamb. That is the only complaint on this gun, which I think has more to do with how round head nail strips are made. I did accidently shoot myself in the knee with a 16D nail while working alone. Kinda sucked, but it was a stupid mistake I will not make again ;)

Hello

I have been a framing foreman for many years and use the Hitachi NR 83 and 90 guns daily. They are by far the best product on the market. We have several guns that are so beat up, you cannot tell what brand they are, yet they still work great. We do large school expansion projects and really give these guns a workout. They do it without problems, day in and day out.

Beware, the Hitachi NR83A2 and NR83A2(S) are very similar, but the (S) does not have a depth control on the gun. I was surprised when I opened the box at home, after handeling the display model in the store which has the adjuster. Maybe that is what the 'S' stands for >surprise<

As it turns out, I don't find this to be a detriment, since the unit has worked flawlessly driving 12d nails (3.25 inch) at 100psi to 120psi, the range that my compressor cycles between. Neither gun comes with an air fitting, and they require a large one (3/8inch). I bought an (S) model today at my local Lowes hardware store. They have awsome customer service, beating their competition's sale price by 10% which made my price $222.00 plus tax. I had searched for a tool that will drive full head nails consistently, and this tool works flawlessly. I am not a professional carpenter, but I know good quality and sometimes you get lucky and can find it at a decent price. This nailer is worth every cent, and will last a long time. Oh, I almost forgot that Hitachi has a 5 year warranty! I am very pleased with this nailer.

I borrowed this gun from our contractor when building our house and loved it. And being the gun that builders prefer meant a lot to me, so when buying a framing nailer this was the obvious choice. Since then I have been helping my in-laws build a house, and we have gone through thousands of nails with this gun without a single complaint. And when the siding nailer broke, we started using galvanized nails in this gun, and it worked just as well, if not better. - Nailer - Hitachi - Hitachi Framing Nailer - Nail Gun'

Slim External Dvd Enclosure - slim external dvd rw, dvd-rom drives

This is great for the money. I would actually give it 4 1/2 stars. The 1/2 star deducted, because the tray door popped off when I took it out of the package. However, I was able to pop it back into place. It seems like it sticks a little bit when I push the tray back in, but other than that it reads CD's perfectly and it's only a very minor imperfection.

I was very close to returning this CD-ROM, because my netbook wouldn't recognize it in any of the USB ports. If this happens to you, just have the CD-ROM plugged into your netbook before you turn the netbook on. After I did that it recognized the drive and played all CD's with no problem.

If you're buying this to install and OS or any kind of MS software onto your netbook, be advised that most of their software is on a DVD-ROM disc. NEW Slim USB 2.0 External Slim USB 2.0 CD-ROM Drive for all Laptop notebook

I bought this little gadget because my Dell netbook lacked a CD drive. I wanted a cheap plug in peripheral to listen to music from my laptop. Indeed I found it with this USB External Drive. It's light, sleek, cheap, and best of all, effective!

I needed a CD-Rom for my Tiny ASUZ net book which I use when on a job away from home. The only use I have for it is to install or repair programs that are on A CD. I recieved it it in record time and was amazed at the size, smaller than some Jewel cases. I opened the box and plugged it in to my net book with the cables provided. It worked flawlessly. It is delicate and must be handled carefully and it is not too fast, but I could care less. I may never use it, as I normally store data on thumb drives. But as a back up system it is the best piece of hardware I ever purchased. The price was unbelievable. I have since recommended it to my friends who have net books with out a CD drive. I cannot say enough good about it. I love it.

Yes, it's cheap but you can tell that it is cheap. I've had it for about 6 months and now I'm ready to toss it and get something better. The door doesn't stay shut all the time or you can't get it to open or it will stop reading the CD (NO DVD'S!!!) in the middle. Overall it's just more work than it should be. I'm buying something that will play DVDs and CDs and work better - I hope.

Connected to my Gateway Netbook and worked perfectly.

Used to rip over 200 music CDs for a new MP3.

Only caution is to keep two fingers under tray when snapping disc in to avoid over-stressing the tray which is a bit flimsy. Removal is not as difficult. Tried a DVD to see if it would read, but as expected it didn't. Fantastic product for $6. Speed may be slower than other units, but for one-time use it's good enough.

It works. It does what it is supposed to do. It is easy to transport with a laptop. It looks flimsy, but with the door closed, there is little chance of damage to it. It should last for years. Reminder, it is NOT a DVD. For the price ($16), it serves its purpose.

I was actually looking for a DVD-ROM drive for a netbook, and didn't pay close enough attention. Seems to work fine for what it is, though. A little noisy, slow to spin up under USB-only power. But at well under twenty bucks, it's not like I have anything to complain about.

Box came with the drive, a USB cable, and a USB-to-power cable (and two foam inserts to protect the drive). No instructions, no branding... generic as can be. Plug & Play on a Mac, as expected. - External Cd - Dvd-rom Drives - Slim External Dvd Rw - Cd-rom Drives'

Hp Pavilion Notebooks

An awesome laptop. Very good looking design (argento on brushed aluminum). Feels sturdy in hand. All the bells and whistles as per the specifications including a backlit keyboard (which was really the selling point for me). Only problem and I mean the ONLY problem for me is the click/touch pad... to click on an item and/or drag and drop is kind of cumbersome to execute...the click part of the pad feels a bit stiff or too far down from tyhe location I'm used to it being in on other laptops...but I figure I'll get used to it after a while. What I think would have been great to just make this the ideal compact and economical merge of hardware vs. price would be integrated bluetooth. But no sweat for me I already had an IOgear bluetooth dongle to connect....Again, awesome laptop! HP Pavilion dv6-3250us 15.6-Inch Entertainment Notebook PC (Silver)

I spent a good two weeks comparing laptops in the $600-$800 range, and this one gets you the most bang for your buck -- by far. Huge hard drive, speedy processor, and enough RAM to run Pro Tools 9 (in other words, plenty of RAM). The back-lit keyboard and fingerprint reader are a nice touch, as is the wide screen. Speakers are surprisingly good for a laptop, too. My only qualm is that it comes loaded with useless software -- a whole punch of programs and games made by HP and Microsoft that you really don't need. It only took about a half-hour to clear those out, though, and from then on it's been smooth sailing. Also, it doesn't come with a full Microsoft Office Suite, just the starter, which is Word and Excel with these annoying ads. But Word and Excel are clunky and weak compared to Open Office, which you can download and install lickety-split at [...]. Did I mention Open Office is free, too? Goodness I love freeware.

In short: I am a very picky purchaser. I checked every store and website I could find, and if $800 is your limit, BUY THIS LAPTOP. The fingerprint reader will totally amaze your friends.

This laptop is great. The processor is super-fast, backlit keyboard is amazing, and I love the fingerprint scanner. The graphics look great and once you tweak the sound a little, the sound isn't too bad. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone and I can't say enough about the backlit keyboard. It's kind of like getting your first DVR, you didn't see why everyone was making such a big deal about them, but once you get one you can't imagine going without it again.

The $634 laptop computer worked wonderfully for 12 months. Within a few days of the warranty expiring, the powercord that originally came with the laptop charged the laptop inconsistently, but enough to keep it running. On the 13th month (1 month after the warranty expired), the powercord arced and fried the motherboard. This is an extremely expensive fix. We called HP customer service and were told that because the warranty expired a month ago, we are on our own! I googled this issue and found that this is a common problem. Before you purchase this computer, do a little more research to find out what problems people have had with HPs as well as what problems people have had with HP customer service. Had I done this before I purchased the HP laptop, I never would have made the purchase.

The price I paid for this computer is well worth it. I LOVE this computer. It is my first HP laptop and the first day I got it I fell in love with the design. Another cool feature that I love about this dv6 is the backlit keyboard and fingerprint reader. The only disadvantage that I found with the fingerprint reader is that I get so use to it and I forget my password when I am on other computers because I am so use to just swiping my finger and it just logs in for me. One issue that I encountered when I first got it with the fingerprint reader is that whenever I log into pages like facebook, my cursor would become disabled and turn into a cross and not allow me to make any selections. After contacting HP about the issue, we figured out that my internet explorer needed to be updated. I was using the original IE9 that was installed in the computer so I had to update to IE10 and it finally worked to this day. Another issue about this dv6 is the battery life. It says that it can give you about 5 hours of battery life, but it doesn't. After a full charge and I check my battery life it says 3 hours and 45 minutes. When unplugged it does last the three hours and 45 mins. I LOVE that whenever I play a movie on here it automatically asks me to switch over to a power saving mode while watching to movie and extends my battery life. I've kept my laptop on watching movies and doing other things my entire flight from east coast to west coast and still had about 30 minutes remaining when we landed. I LOVE the energy efficient options that it gives. One thing that I'm still trying to figure out is the setting for the webcam. I've used it in really dark rooms and it automatically brightens up the background, but there are so many features to mess with that I haven't gotten around to figuring out the right setting for me. I am still trying to figure out how to turn on the power boost. According to the specs it has 2.66 GHZ but can power boost up to 2.93GHz. It loads the main screen really fast and connect to the internet really fast at 2.66GHz. I just wanted to see how much faster 2.93GHz was. Overall, this laptop is well worth the money. It comes with a 1yr manufactor warranty, but I would contact HP after making this purchase and insure it with accidental damage plus in home care services. It costs about $124.00 for a year, so I'd be sure to take full advantage of that service. :) I guarantee that you will love this computer for this price. Well worth it!! Excellent product and excellent customer service and support from HP.

This is a nice machine but didn't "wow" me. In spite of the Intel i5 chip and 6GB of RAM it seems to run slower than my 3-year old Vista machine with considerably less horse power and RAM. It also "crashed" a few time, especially when it's been asleep. I also agree with previous posters who complained about the touch pad. It's not crisp and the buttons seem to stick. If you buy this machine I strongly suggest you buy a mouse (I bought a wireless mouse) to navigate. If I needed another computer I would NOT buy this one again.'

Halloween Costume

I was a bit hesitant to spend this much on a Halloween costume for one day, but it worked out well.

The jacket and pants are polyester and hand-wash only (no big deal for Halloween), and they both appear to be high-quality. What you can't see from the picture is that the hat is squishy foam and doesn't look as authentic as the rest of the costume. On the plus side, the pants come with cool red suspenders. Young Heroes Child's Fire Fighter Costume, Toddler

This was my 3-year-old son's Halloween costume. It fits him great. He's approx 29 lbs and 38 inches tall, but there is some growing room too. It is so much more durable than your average costume and seems like it's going to hold up for a while. That's good because my son LOVES wearing it!

The helmet is foam, and was flattened when we received it, but we put a ball inside the hat for a few days and it's retained it's shape pretty well since then. My son doesn't mind it being foam at all, and I think that it probably stays out of his eyes better than a rigid helmet would.

Overall, I'm very very pleased with this costume.

I was disappointed in this costume. The top and bottom size did not match. \the bottom was good but the top was abit narrow. Also the canvas material was cheap and defineately looks better in the picture. It is not as durable as I thought and will not last long in the drama center as I expected. My nephew was thrilled but I know it won't be passed on to others. For the price I paid I expected more. Also the balck helmet that came with it was a sponge/foam joke.

My son loved the costume and insisted on wearing it everyday. He had some great times running around the park and sliding down the fireman pole. HOWEVER, less than two months later, the button holding the suspender came off and we noticed him running around with an exposed extremely sharp screw. Two weeks later, the reflective material fell completely off and two weeks later, the costume was a rag. He received it on Christmas 2010 and by the end of February it was no more. A defective product, now I need to see if Amazon will provide a refund.'

Tape Worms Dogs Treatment Parasites

I have 2 Alaskan Malamute pups, age 3 months and 3 weeks when I administered this product. They weighed 40 pounds each. One of my pups vomited and I saw a bunch of round worms, alive and crawling all over in the vomit. I was horrfied. Even though the kennel where I bought them from had given them de-wormer all along on a regular bases, they still had worms! I bought them this Sentry de-wormer and it worked like a charm! the next day after I gave them the chewable dewormer, I took them to the vet. On the way home, again the same pup vomited, but all over me! Oh Yuckiiii! I pulled over to the side of the road and really looked at that vomit for signs of worms and they were ALL DEAD! Yah! this stuff worked. The vet did give me more roundworm dewormer to give them in 2 weeks following the dose I had given to them. She told me that about 3 to 4 months old puppies need more dewormer because there are dormant worms in the muscles (I think that is what she said) that hatch out at about that age. I too bought myself some dewormer, 2 different kinds because I figured I cleaned up enough poop and pee from my 2 lovies that I most likely had them too. I used Green Black Walnut complex tincture, and Parastroy v-caps by Nature's Secret. Well....sure enough I had those nasty things too! ( I kept checking my feces too) Another Yuckiiiiii. But now they are gone and both pups and me are healing. I will continue to give my Mals a treatment of dewormer every now and then (myself too!) to keep them healthy. I like this brand and I know it works, easy to give because they are chewable tablets and my 2 pups liked them. Not a problem with them eating it. Sentry HC WormX Plus Dog Dewormer (Round/Hook/Tapeworm), Large Dog,12-Count

We recently rescued a German Shepard-Lab puppy from Animal Services, shortly after we adopted her we noticed she had little white worms in her stool. I suspected they were segments of a tapeworm and we bought this medication, within an hour of taking it her diarrhea stopped and she was eating more. A few hours later she was back on the "puppy poop" schedule [at least once every hour] and it was obvious from a distance her stools were laced with dead tapeworms [segments and whole worms]. She's already back to her energetic self and eating more. We're extremely pleased with this product and we're highly recommending it to friends and family. We'll be ordering more again soon!

BROUGHT MY DOG HOME FROM A KENNEL AFTER BEING ON VACATION. I NOTICED RIGHT AWAY HE HAD TAPE WORMS. I WAS IN FLORIDA AWAY FROM MY OWN VET SO I HAD TO DO SOMETHING QUICK. WENT ON LINE TO AMAZON AS I ALWAYS FIND THEM TO BE THE LEAST EXPENSIVE. BOUGHT THIS ITEM AND IT AND HAD IT SHIPPED IN TWO DAYS AND THE ITEM DID THE JOB IN ONE TREATMENT. GREAT WORMER FOR THESE TUFF LITTLE BUGGERS!!!!

I noticed some flat white worms in my oldest dog's stool. I researched it and discovered these were tape worms. They were in every stool for a few days and moving around. I bought this product and waited for it to arrive. My dog is right at the 50 pound mark, so I gave him 2 pills (50 pounds could be either 1 or 2 pills, according to the directions). I checked his stool the next day, and there were no tape worms in it, dead or alive. I've been checking it since then, and they seem to be gone completely.

I have now been making my dogs "smoothies" which I pour on their food everyday. I put carrots, nori sheets, chicken broth, kifir (like yogurt), and pumpkin seeds in my vitamix to make the smoothie. Pumpkin seeds are supposed to be a natural parasite killer, so I'm hoping it will keep the tape worms away for good. Walnuts are supposed to be another natural parasite killer, but I'm hoping the pumpkin seeds will be enough. If not, I'll use these pills again, and I still have some left from this order. They seem to be very effective for tape worms.

The product works, but my poor 4 month old red heeler had some pretty severe side effects. A day after taking the dewormer he vomited until there was nothing left in his stomach to throw up. He also had diarrhea with lots of dead worms and slime in it. He didn't sleep that whole night; I had to take him out frequently, and he mostly just slowly wandered around, dazed. The next morning he vomited only a bit more. He refused to eat food and was incredibly lethargic, but he drank water frequently enough. He pooped a few more times, and it was slime and worms. By the end of the day he was still lethargic and refusing food, so we fed him some high calorie gel and he perked up considerably (tail wagging, moving around more, but not acting normally just yet). He slowly returned to himself over the next few days. Not sure why he had such a violent reaction. He was dewormed a month and a half before using a different brand and he suffered no side effects.

One of our dogs seems to be chronic with the worm problem. We gave him 1/4 of a tablet for two days and the problem was taken care of. We used this product as an alternative to having to invest $250 to get a prescription from our vet. This is one of those rare cases where the product works as well as you hope!

I noticed that my two Golden Retriever (+50 pounds) had worms. I did some research and this product was the most complete and one of the cheapest ones so I decided to give it an opportunity. The problem is that I read "two pills" and assumed two doses, but both pills are for just one dog.

Anyway, I gave one pill to each of them while re-ordering. To my great surprise, the product worked wonderfully anyway. My dogs were checked a bit later and it was confirmed that they had no worms. That's why I'm recommending Sentry.'

Video Games - wii game, video games

I bought this game on a Friday. My Monday morning I had fishing wrist. The only Wii fishing I had tried prior was the fishing game in Wii Play. This is nothing like Wii Play fishing.

This game is very cartoony and the graphics are not that great, aside from the fish. You start out as a fishing novice whose grandfather wants you to work hard to become a fishing master. The grandfather talks way too much but offers you tips to improve. As you progress throughout the game, you can buy new kinds of bait, new poles and open new fishing spots where you can catch bigger and bigger fish. There are over 100 different types of fish you can catch in this game. Once you hook them you need to reel them in. Sometimes the smallest fish can create the most intense battles when you try to reel them in.

You compete in tournaments to increase your levels in the game. They aren't very challenging (so far) but do open up new places to fish. Your pet dog will find you new bait and maps to fishing spots along the way.

All I can say is I jumped up and down when I caught a 587 lb. Yellowfin Tuna and played until 2:30 a.m. the day I bought this game. Yesterday I planned to just play for 30 minutes or so, but ended up playing for 7 straight hours. This game is for some reason ridiculously fun and when you reel in a rare red fish it's actually exciting.

I have had the most fun playing this out of all the Wii games I have purchased, and it's even a fairly cheap one! I can see a whole family having a grand evening of fishing playing this. I'm not a hardcore gamer by any means, just a 32 year old woman who enjoys Wii fishing. Fishing Master

My 8yr old son and I are not serious gamers but do love to fish. This was the only game he asked for with his new Wii and I was a bit hesitant with the purchase. Luckily it has been a HUGE hit. We have played this game non stop since getting it for Christmas. He got numerous other highly rated Wii games but this one is by far our favorite. He quickly got to be a fishing master by winning tournaments as we got access to more islands but we are now only 2 fish away (out of 140+ varieties) of completing our fishing log. We just can't wait to see what fish we bring in next. We have been playing in the mode where you can see the fish shadows in the water but once we complete the entire game, we will turn off the shadows and the challenge will be greater to land all of the fish. We have also found that it is almost as much fun to watch the other person fish as it is to fish yourself. The anticipation of the next catch is completely addictive. I've sat down many time to fish for 30 minutes and have to drag myself away hours later.

The fighting action and bait needed to catch many species of fish are very close to reality (those trout fight like crazy for small freshwater fish!). There are a few of the Rare fish that are not real but they are entertaining to see once you land them.

Yes, the graphics aren't the greatest but who cares. If you love to fish, you will love this game.

First off - im in the older generation - my fiance and I picked this game up and have to say it is a total blast to play - granted the graphics are not top of the line - but the excitement of fighting a fish on your line is amazing- I was thinking of getting sega fishing or hooked but took this to try it out and am glad i did- yes its arcady and yes cartoony but still the most fun i have had on the wii to date- it really gets intense when you hook a fish - i hope they make a second one that would include multi player over wi fi -

Fishing Master graphically speaking is kind of on the kiddy anime side of things, bright colors big eyed characters and simplistic graphics.

On the control side of things winding your nunchuck like a reel and flicking the wiimote side to side feels like fishing a little and after the intial (pat your head rub your belly) feeling of the 2 controls being used together becomes all too easy. The unlockable fish, bait and fishing spots will keep you coming back to capture the STAR EEL and many other outlandish fish, what would have really helped this game is some adjustments to gameplay as you progress to bigger bodies of water and fish. Good in short 20 min gaming sessions the controls are just simple enough for kids to grasp and have enough of an edge for adult gamers to enjoy a few rounds. The best moments in fishing master are when you pull your fish out of the water and see what specimen you have hooked. Mildy addictive at first the fun wears off after a few days in solo mode, making the multiplayer fishing derby the only thing that adds any replay value here. This is a good rental until the Wii gets some deeper fishing titles for certain and possibly a good gift for young anglers with a Wii who don't live near any fishing holes.

GENERAL: This is by far the most played game in my household. As other folks have mentioned, the graphics are basic (except for the fish, which are pretty real) but look nice. The controllers are easy to use once you get used to them. You can use your thumb on the knob on the nunchuck or just shake or wind your nunchuck hand to reel in the fish. The nunchuck is pretty motion sensitive. I've lost a couple fish by inadvertently pushing my hair out of my face or itching my nose while fighting a big one. My advice: itch and scratch with your wii-mote hand!! The wii-mote (rod) controls are easy to get used to as well. What I've found (but can't impart on my 5 year old) is that you need to hold your rod up just like when you're fishing for real. NOTE: we bought two rod adapters and have found them to be USELESS and they inhibit play (the wii-mote can't make contact with the sensor bar when you're using the adapter).

GAME PLAY: Pros - there are 100 types of fish you can catch in multiple locales. There are lots of bait options and some of the fish give you a run for your money. (After lenghty battles and pulling in a several hundred pound tuna, or after catching a new type of fish, I've been known to pump my arm and yell "oh yeah! you know it!") The feel of the game is great. Between the sound effects and graphics, you actually feel like you're pulling something in. And the timer keeps a realistic count of how long it would take to reel a big one in. Tournament play is great. I love standing on the beach and going head to head. Cons - I made it to "Fishing Master" with credits rolling after less than 10 hours of game play and only catching 1/3 of the possible fish. You just have to win all of the tournaments and they are not the least bit competitive. I hoped they would get progressively harder but they don't.

All in all this is a fun one. Even though you get to be a fishing master quickly, there are 100 fish to catch and a lot of them are really hard to catch so there's a lot of game time in this one. Plus, being able to have 4 players go head-to-head in a tourney is great fun! - Fishing - Wii Game - Video Games - Wii Fishing'

Makita Replacement Battery

Hi.......

Thanks for such a quick process. I received the battery 3 days after I ordered, by simple US Mail.

Brand new condition, the battery charged up really well and is in use now. What a great difference from the old batteries I was putting up with.

I did'nt need a whole new system and drill to use. I just needed my old drill to use around the house. This battery gave new life to my drill.

Thanks again for your quick service and the great condition the battery came. Pwr+ 7.2v Battery for Makita 7000 632002-4 4073d 6019dwle Ml702 (1300mah Ni-cd)

This battery works as well, or better, than the battery I received with my original purchase back in 1988. Each charge has outlasted the job I was using it for. It fits four different Makita tools, also purchased in 1988. The price was $8.00 less than the previous replacement battery I bought locally at Battery Warehouse four years ago. They also had to special order it, which required two trips to the Warehouse, and required payment in advance. This whole transaction was so much easier, and less of a hassle. I ordered this, and a book from my Wish List, and with free shipping, had my order in a few of days.

I bought this battery after one of my old ones quit working after several years. When I opened the package and put it in the cordless it was completely dead so I put it in my charger. After a couple days I took it off the charger and put it in the cordless again but it still has no charge. I returned it to Amazon under their return policy. I will not buy another PWR brand battery.

This hard to find replacement battery for my old 7.2V Makita drill worked out perfectly. My last old battery died and I was afraid that my favorite old cordless drill that works great would become obsolete. I was very happy to find this replacement that no store carries any longer.

After a mix up of delivery, the items were correctly send after an inconvenient of phone call, email, and a trip to the post office. The products are working as expected after the two weeks from the order date. The refund of the postage were send after two weeks. I loved the batteries and make my Makita drill units work like new again.'

Leather Belts - leather belts, big man

It serves its purpose providing the (almost entirely leather) belt market with a non leather belt, but it seems more expensive than it should be. I cant find a single non leather belt in any stores or even websites really. So, this belt has its market cornered from what I can tell. That explains the cost being higher than I would normally be willing to pay for a single belt.

It looks dressy and replaces my leather dress belts perfectly.

After just a few times wearing it, it seems to have a crease where it fits into the belt near the notch. This makes me wonder about its durability, but so far, I have no convincing evidence that would suggest its not durable. The Vegan Collection Captain Black Stitched Pleather Belt, Small

This belt looks good, even up close. However, a simple scrape of the material from sitting next to concrete revealed a strange white/gray layer underneath the faux leather exterior. I had to use a black permanent marker to cover that up before a business meeting.

the belt looks good but is not soft or pliable. it always feels a little awkward putting it on and getting it buckled. it feels a bit like bending plastic leather. that was a disappointment. it would be nice if the leather had a great softness and pliability like nubuck on sneakers. - Big Man - Leather Belts - Vegan - Belts'

Boat Covers

Having a 15.5 foot boston whaler sport I needed a support system. The Attwood Cover support system did the trick. I tried pvc pipes and different contraptions to create a support system. None even came close to this product I am reviewing. Had to make a few adjustements at first. Its not hard to set up and keeps your cover from falling in when in rains. So far I am happy with it. For the most part I think for me I give it 5 stars. Attwood Corporation Dlx Cover Support 19' System

I needed a cover support for my inboard ski boat and this fit the bill perfectly. The straps are easily adjustable to the proper length with good non-marring hooks and bow protector. The support pole adjusts easily and the strap bracket spreads the loads of the straps well. Easy to put up and does the job very well.'

Brad Nailer - brad nailers, brad nailer

I have a Dewalt cordless 18-guage nailer that I use for quick handyman projects. I keep this assortment kit inside the tool's case. It is small, clear and has everything from small to large for every need. I refill it from one-size packs of 1000+ nails that I can't fit in the tool's case. Senco A209909 18-Gauge-by-1-2-Inch Electro Galvanized Variety Pack Brads

Variety pack supplied a good selection of brads for most projects. Once you determine the type you need, you can order a box of them. Better than buying a box and finding out they aren't suited for your project.

I bought these nails for use with the Hitachi brad nailer I bought on Amazon at the same time. The nails came in a variety of sizes and functioned flawlessly. I did not experience any miss fires or loading problems. I don't know how much credit goes to these nails or or the great Hitachi brad nailer, but both work great together. If you need just one size, I would only order the single size pack, however this variety pack was great for my needs and included plenty of nails in each size. - Brad Nailers - Brad Nailer - Senco - Nails'

Childrens Life Jacket - toddler, life jacket

I love the Puddle Jumpers Floation for my 18 month old son!!!!!!! It keeps him a float, his head stays above water. It aslo helps with him learning how to swim. The only 1 problem, is that if he happens to turn on his back, he can not get himself back over, but I sure that will be resolved once he learns how to get around more in the water, right now he is only 18 months. I definetly give it 5 stars. I absolutley LOVE< LOVE< LOVE it!!! One of the safest products for kids learning to swim. Makes him very independent in the water. Stearns Girls Puddle Jumper Flotation Suit,Lime

I'm sure this product would be okay for a larger toddler (3-4 years old) but my 2.5 year old was 'swimming' in it!

I didn't see any information about it fitting 30-40lbs, our girl is only 25lbs. maybe I missed something.

I purchased the 'non-suit' flotation instead (chest and arms only) and it's PERFECT.

Plus, a friend told me that the full suits tend to ride up and iritate her child's chin. Just an fyi!

My two year old daughter and I LOVE this swimming suite. It is easy for Mama to hold her in deep water, she is so buoyant and happy. I feel so secure knowing that there is no way she will sink since she does not know how to swim yet. We only have to worry about her dipping her face in the water!! A great suite to own with a toddler who hasn't taken swimming lessons yet.

Bought this for my very independent 19 month old who loves getting in the water. It took her about 2 visits to the pool to get the hang of the suit (at first she would float on her back, then on her stomach),...but now she can swim all around the pool. The quality is excellent, the suit fits big on her (she wears 24 month clothes) but it does not ride up in the water. She can use this for a long time. Very cute design and good quality. Would definitely recommend.

Bought this for my 18mth old after reading other reviews that people had put thier younger ones in it ..... dont know how it was huge on my daughter!! She is not small by any means (90% height) and the crotch was at her knees and she looked like the michelin tire woman. When she sat she basically ate the front floatie and same when she swam.

We stuck it on my 2.5yr old son (haha) and it was still waaay tooo long on him!!! But the idea is great.

Personally I got 2 of the puddle jumper basic life jackets and they are better!!!! Wish I could return this one.

I got the small for my 30lb 3 yr old. She will be able to wear it the entire Summer. ( a little big, but does not hinder its effectiveness) It took her a while to figure out this was going to keep her aflot. But loved it and was effective after that! Happy customer here.

This suit is fantastic I imported it from the states hoping it would fit my large 1yr old girl. IT DOSEN'T very large. It fits my 2 1/2 month old daughter perfectly she is quite tall and of average build now (was chunky as a baby) It will probally fit her for a few years as has adjustment ties on either side by the legs. I took her swimming today and she loves it. I purchased it as I will be off to spain soon, I will be able to relax knowing she will be wearing it. IF ANY ONE KNOWS WHERE TO GET A SIZE SMALLER PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

My 19-month old daughter swam like a fish in this suit... I purchased one to take on vacation with us and I will buy a few more for the upcoming summer season!!!

She was able to keep afloat and move around, I do have to admit she had previously taken swim classes for six months before we went on vacation, I will keep up on the lessons but the suit is a must especially since we have a pool. - Life Jackets - Childrens Life Jacket - Life Jacket - Toddler'
