Garmin Nuvi 265wt - dashboard mount, garmin

My Prius has a rough dashboard and a windshield that slopes very sharply. Thus, the suction cup mounts are not good solutions. Fortunately, the friction mount is a great solution. It works much better than I expected. Very stable, does not slide, and lets me adjust my Nuvi to a variety of different angles. I can place the GPS anywhere on the dash or even on the center console. Also works great when transferred to my wife's Ford.

Only downside to the device is that it has a rather large footprint, but not prohibitively large. I like the fact that I can easily use this in both of our family vehicles depending on where we need the GPS.

UPDATE: Now that I have used this mount regularly since May, I have to say this is the best mounting solution I've found for a GPS or any other device for my car. It hasn't slid out of place once!! Given the rise in GPS units being stolen from cars, this mount allows you to easily stash your GPS Unit and mount out of sight and then put it back into position with ease.

2009 Update: Still using this in my Prius and my wife has one too. It's held up quite well. It IS a bit bulky to store out of the way when not in use, but still a good solution. I usually remove my GPS from the mount (a simple process) and then place the mount as far under the seat as it will go. Not perfect, but the best solution I've found to date. Garmin Portable Friction Mount

This mount works great. The selection of Garmin mounts is confusing as some are two parts and some are one. If you have a Nuvi with the included windshield mount, then this is the only part you need to buy. The included mount disassembles at the ball and socket joint and attaches to this one. I can't say it will never come off the dash if I do some really high speed maneuver, but so far it's held steady for all regular driving.

I like that it's easy to move the mount and gps unit down to the floor when I park. Yeah a thief could still see it if they came right up to my car but at least it's not obvious from halfway across the parking lot like a windshield mount is. A thief that sees an empty windshield mount is probably going to assume (correctly) that I've just put the unit in the glove compartment.

I have become addicted to my Garmin Nuvi 660 and used it for six months with a successful windshield mount. But now I have bought a new car. I discovered that the windshield suction mount left an ugly black ring on the window of my old car. (I assume I can get this cleaned up when I detail the car for selling.)

So no way was I going to put one of those on my beautiful new car. I tried the Garmin dashboard mount but shied away from the "permanent" disc. I found the "temporary" disc was just not up to the job of holding this device in place -- at least on my vehicle. I found this very frustrating. I read about the Portable Friction Mount, found a Best Buy store that had it in stock and ran out to buy it.

Though it is not terribly good looking, it does the job very well. I tried whipping around a few tight turns in parking lots and the whole thing stayed put. As another reviewer said, this lets you easily remove the thing and put it on the floor so it's not obvious. That may be more valuable than you would think. I know somebody who removed his Garmin Nuvi (and took it with him) but left the window mount in place. The car was broken into and the window mount alone was stolen. (Probably that was a pretty frustrated thief.)

Also, this will be easy to transfer to a rental car. And it will make it easy for my wife to borrow my Nuvi. Hmmm!

While the friction mount on the bottom of the beanbag is pretty darn stable even with stops, starts, and turns I sometimes would find it sliding across the dash. The solution has been to use one of those little 6x4 inch mats sold at Radio Shack or Walmart for keeping cellphones on the dash. The mat is sticky on one side but leaves no marks or glue. I have not had one slide since using the mat. I even bring the mat with me in rental cars. This gives a very secure mount that is very easy to take from car to car.

The first time I tried this mount was in a rental car for a Garmin C530, and I never thought it would stay on the slightly sloping dash of the Pontiac Grand Prix but it held firm going up and down San Francisco's hilly roads. That prompted me to buy one for my car. Essentially this mount is a bean bag with a mouse pad like rubber base but its engineered to stay where you put it and not slide around unless you move it. The good thing is that it stays put even if you brake suddenly, and if you drive in bumper to bumper rush hour traffic like me every day you'll appreciate this even more!

The advantages are:

- No sticking on windshield. This is a BIG advantage as the windshield mount starts to come off easily after a year of usage, less if you leave it in your car while it's parked in the sun. There is nothing worse than your GPS sliding off while you're driving round a tricky bend, especially if you are new to the area. Sometimes it can be downright dangerous.

- The windshield mount also alerts thieves that a GPS is in the car. A friction mount can be placed down under the car seat when you leave the car without needing to disconnect anything so that you're ready to go quickly when you come back to the car.

- The other big advantage is the ability to move it around to the position you want it. If a passenger is sitting in your car you can just slide it to their side and they can input the information while you are driving. It also makes it easy to slide it closer to yourself. Since I have the Nuvi 660 I often make calls with the bluetooth feature while driving, it is easy to slide it towards me when I am speaking to someone in order to get better voice reception.

This mount works for all Nuvis as they have the "snap the ball in the joint". If you buy any model of Nuvi then this is all you need, no other adapter parts are needed. It's also easy to switch this mount between cars or move it to a rental car when you travel. It has been the best and most useful accessory I could buy for my Nuvi 660. - Gps - Garmin - Garmin Nuvi - Dashboard Mount'

Digital Radio - portable radio, am-fm

I am a letter carrier for the post-office and my pocket radio was my constant companion. In this age of MP3 players and

I-pods, it would seem that the AM /FM pocket radio had become extinct. No electronics store, even in New York City could offer a reasonable replacement for my worn out AIWA CR-LD100. I thought my radio days on the route were over. In desperation I searched the web and came upon the SANGEAN DT-120. If you are looking for a pocket sized, lite-weight radio that offers outstanding reception when you are on the move, then this is it. Only slightly bigger than the AIWA but not bulky at all. The reception is outstanding and there is plenty of volumn. With 5 preset buttons for 2 FM bands and 1 AM, you get 15 presets. The controls are not complicated at all. The on/off button is at the top, on the edge, and the volume toggle is directly below it(maybe a little too close to the on/off). On the front face, 4 buttons control the band selector, x-tra bass, and manual tuning. The digital display is plenty big and highly visible. Across the top edge are the TINY and close set, preset buttons. You can easily cover two of them with one finger tip, so you need a light touch. Its the only feature that is problematic for me, but in no way is it a deal breaker. The AM receiver is quite sensitive and easily pulls in distant stations, especially at night. Which is perfect if you like to search for sporting events from local stations in far away cities. The FM stereo is superb, loud ,clear, with lots of seperation. The sound quality of the ear buds is excellent, but because I walk all day I needed to replace them with the type that hook around my ears. I use this radio all day sometimes 10 hours a day, and the battery lasts about a week and a half. I never thought I would find a radio as good as my AIWA, but the Sangean DT-120 does the job for me. Sangean Dt-120 White Pocket Am/Fm Digital Radio (White)

This is a delightful little radio. It has excellent FM and AM reception. It even rivals my Denon receiver at home for pulling in some of the weaker stations. The controls are intuitive and easy to use and the radio is also surprisingly light. Battery life is also great.

Overall one off the best purchases I've made this year. I'm very impressed.

I have had this unit for a couple of months. So far I am very pleased with its performance.

I bought this unit because of all the positive reviews for the tuner. And this unit does not dissapoint in this regard. A local sports team has a low power radio broadcast within their arena. A cheap $10 radio could barely get the station, much less provide a listenable broadcast. The Sangean pulls the broadcast in perfectly. The Sangean even outperforms the factory radio in my Toyota Tacoma. The digital tuner and readout is a huge upgrade from the cheaper radios with their analog tuners.

This is an excellent radio for the size and price. I live in the middle of nowhere (translation is north west Minnesota in the woods) but it can pull very strong AM and FM signals.

The only thing this radio needs is to have clock to display time, otherwise it is perfect delivery of what Sangean has promissed.

This thing is smaller than a deck of cards but really delivers. I am pulling in a AM station clearly that two big boom box type radios I own will not, and one's a Sony the other an Emerson. You turn this radio on in two different modes. If you just press and release the on/off button, it will turn itself off in ninety minutes. If you turn it on by holding in the on button for a couple of seconds it will stay on indefinitely. It has three band settings, AM FM1 and FM2 and they all have five presets easily set so you can program a total of fifteen presets. Searching for stations is easy, you can click the up or down buttons or hold them down to scan for a station. You add them to a preset button by just holding down the preset button for a couple of seconds until you hear a beep. It has a stereo/mono switch for ear bud listening and a rocker switch for raising or lowering the volume. It has a DBB (Bass) button that really works. Lastly it has a lock switch so that absolutely nothing can be changed (station/volume etc.) accidentally. Runs on one AAA battery. When turned on all settings are clearly shown on the LCD screen. I use a pair of Skull Candy ear buds and the sound quality is very good, i don't like the large button ear buds that are typically included with sound equipment. I'm happy as a clam with mine and it will be in my pocket most of the time.

This is great little radio. It is my second one. I lost my first one after several months. It was working perfectly when I lost it(subsequently found, now I have two). The radio doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles(tone control, cock etc), but it has a great reciever, plenty presets, fits easily in a pocket, and only requires one aaa battery. The automatic shut off after 1 hr is great because it saves the battery. You just have to turn it back on once an hr.

I listen to it in bed at night, in the doctors waiting room, and during excercise. It is totally adequate if you just want basic. Great! - Digital - Sangean - Portable Radio - Am-fm'

Wireless Usb Adapter - pc to tv, pc to tv converter

I purchased the older Warpia device that streams video only a few months back and have had a very good experience with the product. It works great streaming Hulu or [...] movies from the internet directly to my TV wirelessly.

Now with this part I am listening to the audio through the TV as well. Streams both the audio and video directly through the HMDI port. There are few tricks you can learn in the instruction manual such as streaming video in Extend mode, enabling Aero mode in Vista, etc to get the video as clear as can be.

Highly reccomeded to anyone who wants to watch PC content on their TV and does not want the clutter of cables going from the laptop to the TV. Warpia Wireless USB PC to TV Audio / Video Display Adapter

I bought this Warpia device on April 23rd. Out of the box, I installed the software and hooked it up to the TV and tried it...Nothing, didn't work. Upon reading the instructions (Yes, I am a man) I learned that the device needs a firmware update to work (Easy to do, online instructions). Make sure the transmitter and receiver are within about 1-2 feet of each other as I didn't do this and after the first attempt to do the firmware update, It failed. After making sure they were close to each other, the firmware update took. I did have a little trouble getting the resolution set properly but this was kind of human error on my part. I did call tech support for help on this and actually talked to an English speaking American, nice for a change. Also, some reviews were saying that the audio cable needed to be hooked up for sound, but if you are using HDMI as I am, no audio cable is needed. I have hooked this to my Mitsubishi 57" Rear Projection TV and it works like a charm. I have had absolutely NO problems with it. I waited over 3 months to write this review as I wanted to see if I would have any bugs or disappointments. NONE! I was skeptical after reading some of the reviews and the trouble people had hooking it up. If you do have some trouble, call tech support and you won't be dissapointed. My laptop sits approx. 25 feet from my TV and base receiver and I have no problems at all. You do need a reasonably good direct line of sight for them, but I do ocassionally walk between them and there is no freezing or anything like that. They do both get quite warm to the touch but it seems to be ok. I am giving this 5 stars because it has enabled us to completely drop DirecTV and rely solely on Netflix and Hulu for our TV needs. (We get our locals from our high speed internet provider for free.) I would highly recomend this to anyone who is looking to a web alternative for TV needs.

I've been looking for a product like this for a long time. Finally any easy way to stream internet content to my TV. Easy to install, took only five minutes. I'm a big Netflix internet fan. Now can stream a movie and don't have to sit in front of my laptop to watch it!

Only downfall, I wish it wasn't limited to having the PC in the same room as the TV.

I followed the printed instructions and in three minutes was playing video from my laptop on the 46" Samsung LCD TV.

Very good audio and video quality, no visible glitches. Amazing - just plug small USB dongle and laptop connects instantly to TV. Real value wireless technology.

Before I got this unit, I had a VGA cable running from my laptop, across the living room, to the TV. My wife wasn't happy with that at all. Then I got the Warpia and set it up with the base unit connected to the TV (Toshiba Regza) with a VGA cable and audio cable. It worked great. I used the PC-Input setup on the TV. However, I had to make sure the VGA resolution of the laptop was compatible with the allowable resolution on the TV, otherwise, no signal. Then I bought a cheap HDMI cable and was able to do away with the big VGA cable - and I didn't have to fuss with the laptop video resolution. PLUS, now that I had the audio-out from the base unit free, I routed the audio cable to my stereo. Now I can run anything from Netflix or YouTube to the TV, and my stored mp3s to the stereo.

I'm running a Toshiba laptop about 12 feet from the base unit at the TV. The laptop is running on a wireless network also. I'm competely wireless. Strong signal, no dropouts. My wife is happy too.

Highly recommended.

I have been using the video only version for a while and loved it. But had to use Blue Tooth Speakers to send audio from PC. Just bought and set up the full version with Audio and love it even more. Gotta love the one connection (HDMI) for both the video and audio. And the audio is great. Turn it up just like DVDs and the sound is perfect. I even started listening to my iTunes wirelessly from my PC to stereo system with this when not watching videos, etc. Sweet. Didn't even waste the video only version. Brought it to my office and using it there with projector now. Very cool for presentations, meetings, etc. - Pc To Tv Converter - Wireless Usb - Wireless Video - Pc To Tv'

Acer Aspire One Case - carry-all, netbook case

This case is great... lots of room for everything. Eee PC 10.1-inch fits perfectly. There is about an inch more space on each side, so it hugs it pretty snug. There is an adjustable divider in the case which attaches with velcro, so you can make the sections as big as you want, or just take it out completely. There room for the adapter and battery and theres a few different compartments inside for random stuff... I just put my headphones and portable speakers in it with my power adapter. the construction is really solid for the price. I was expecting thin fabric but this thing has some pretty strong material... seems like it would keep the netbook safe in the rain even...but I'm not going to try that hahaha... I guess the way this case could be better is if it had special compartments for everything like the adapter and dvd's and stuff, otherwise the case does what its supposed to and is made of thick material.. seems like it will last for a while High Density Nylon Padded FlexWall Design Case for Samsung Galaxy Tablet / Apple iPad and Many More!

I bought a netbook (Acer Aspire One) to take with me on the road so I didn't have to keep handling my full-sized company laptop. I needed a carrying case for the Acer that would keep the power supply, accessories and the computer in one place and secure. I bought this case, and I'm satisfied with it. It's padded well, the Acer, even with the BIG long-life battery, fits snugly in it, along with the external optical drive, the wireless mouse and the power supply. All loaded up, it's a small handy package, doing what I needed to have done with my little netbook.

After acquiring an MSI Wind netbook, I decided I needed some other way to transport it around than the padded sleeve that came with it. I was always having to juggle cords, mouse, car charger and other things when I'd take it anywhere. I found plenty of bags that I could have jammed everything into,...with room to spare. But they were bigger and bulkier than I desired. (Remember, netbooks are neat because they are small and portable.# Or, they were not much more than another padded sleeve. I wanted something that would carry the cords and mouse, some USB sticks, and maybe even a digital camera of moderate size. I wanted to be able to grab and go with all these items, and be able to conveniently set up a mobile work station at a WiFi hotspot without spilling stuff everywhere. But I didn't want something that was gonna be as big as my huge briefcase-like bag I used to use for my 15inch laptop.

I spent some time looking at all kinds of products,...even ones that were not meant for netbooks. I almost went with a surplus U.S. Army night vision devise padded canvas bag. #It was the perfect fit for the netbook itself, but didn't have any storage. And it was Army green, which was cool.) But I took my time and held onto my money. I just took it on faith that SOMEONE out there had designed the right bag, and I just needed to find it. Occasionally I would find something promising, but the price as if I had commissioned a custom production item!

This bag is perfect. Not too big, not too small. Enough pockets and storage to hold the essentials, but too much to make it bulky. The padding is sufficient, the outer material is the quad-stitch "rip-stop" pattern of nylon, to prevent small tears from growing larger. And the price is right!

My only wish is that they made it in other color options. Basic black will do,...but I really would have grooved on any military-themed colors, such as O.D. green, desert tan, coyote brown or nearly any camouflage pattern. But function is the most important thing here for me, and this bag satisfies my needs.

I am so disappointed... The potential is there but the bag won't hold my Acer. I can't zip the top closed with the netbook in there.... And there is only one big pocket, a velcro divider and the front zip that is only big enough for my checkbook. I'm going to keep it and use it for my camera, but I'll have to keep shopping for a good bag for my netbook. Rats....

I bought this to fit my iPad and it's just a tad too small. The iPad is just about 3/8" too wide to fit comfortably. I can still close the top but it deforms the bag slightly making the stretch. I bought this to fit an iPad plus a paperback, pens, notepad, sunglasses, etc. If this were half an inch deeper it would work but it was clearly designed before the iPad was developed. The bag is nicely made and, at Amazon's price of $10, it's a steal if your mini notebook will fit. I bought it for the iPad which the manufacturer promotes as being compatible. They're wrong. The three stars are for the misleading product description, not the bag.

I bought this case a month ago strictly for price without any specific use in mind. Since then it has become my favorite carry bag. It goes everywhere with me. I now use it for my Kendall, Ipod touch, several sets of ear buds, bluetooth, etc.! It is the best for an inexpensive utility bag. I read the few neg. remarks and the only complaint it did not fit their specific use. So if you make sure it fits, order it--GREAT BUY! In fact, I am going to order a second one as soon as I finish here. You can't beat the quality for the price! - Ebook Reader - I Love It - Netbook Case - Carry-all'

Telephoto Lens - lens, zoom

According to a photo magazine, this is a cosmetically re-labelled Konica Minolta 75-300 (D) zoom telephoto, which is a lens that I own (it certainly looks exactly the same as the KM 75-300 lens, but with the 'Sony' name). In which case, I have the following review:

(1) Excellent construction quality, this is a very nicely made lens, excellent finish, not too heavy but solid and without the 'plastic' feel of many medium-priced lenses;

(2) Excellent optical quality, with good sharpness even at the longest 300mm focal length where most zooms begin to show poor quality;

(3) VERY UNUSUAL: near-zero distortion throughout the entire range of focal lengths (very different from some Sigma zooms that I own, which have conspicuously visible pincushion distortion). This may well be the lowest-distortion 75-300 telephoto from any maker.

(4) ONE CAVEAT: AUTOFOCUS IN LOW LIGHT: on my Minolta Maxxum 7 film camera, whose autofocus system is apparently quite similar to the Sony Alpha 100, the camera has difficulty autofocussing the 75-300 lens at the 300 mm setting (where the aperture is only f/5.6) in light weaker than direct sunlight. This is probably the same with any f/5.6 or slower lens. I have found myself switching to manual focus at the 300 mm setting if the subject is not brightly lit.

NOTE: the Konica Minolta 75-300 (D) lens is still available, for about $140, and reportedly will work with Sony Alpha cameras just as well as the similar lens labelled Sony. Sony 75-300mm f/4.5-5.6 Compact Super Telephoto Zoom Lens for Sony Alpha Digital SLR Camera

Recently, I moved from the SONY DSC 707 to the SONY A 100 DSLR. The change in cameras from the Cybershot to the DSLR took some getting used to. I purchased the SONY 75-300mm Telephoto lens from Amazon and as soon as it arrived I attached the lens and began to use it.

I am definitely pleased with the lens, the price and it's capabilities.

Having used a SLR for almost 30 years, moving to the DSLR takes some time and patience. The SONY A 100 is a solid perfomer, and it is my fourth SONY digital camera.

For the avid photographer, the SONY 75-300mm Telephoto lens is priced well and will provide exceptional performance. Once you attach the lens you will discover when in maximum telephoto mode, the lens is quite long. If you attach the lens shade it's even longer and takes some handling considerations in tight spaces.

The extreme focusing speeds of the A 100 are rapid and vary as it adjusts to the optimim focus. The lens in AUTO mode is in constant adjustment. This focus issue takes some getting used to. The lens balances quite nicely on th A 100. As with most photographers, you need to find the best hand positions on the camera body and lens so you can feel comfortable while you shoot. The lens is ultra depth of field sensitive.

Having had the lens on the camera now for a month, I am beginning to adjust to its "sometimes hyper adjustment activity"! I am in no way disappointed in the lens because the telephoto shots I have kept and recorded are first rate with the SONY A 100 and the SONY 75-300mm lens.

As with all new cameras, it takes time to become familiar with the camera settings and lens activity. I highly recommend the lens with an awarness of it's sensitivity and length. After hours of shooting I am pleased with the lens, and SONY's attention to detail in both lens construction and performance. If you own a SONY A 100 DSLR, or plan to invest in the SONY DSLR system, this lens will not let you down. You will review your photos and be pleased with the results the SONY lens provides you.

I intend to invest in other SONY lens in the future. As for now, the two SONY lenses fulfill my photographic needs quite nicely. SONY has entered the DSLR market with an outstanding camera and quality accessories.

Prequel: I am coming from a strict Nikon background and due to having my $4000 kit(D80, 3 VR, 3 2.8 pro lenses, etc) stolen out of my car, am starting all over again. That being said, I don't have $4000 to plop down at once, so I decided to get an "entry to mid-level" system and after many internal battles, decided to try something different and go with the Alpha system. My thoughts were if things didn't work out with this setup, I haven't spent that much and could use it for a carry-around camera. So far I see absolutely NO reason to go back to Nikon. Yes, this system is THAT good.

Sony 75-200mm f/4.5-5.6 Lens: Wow. I sincerely cannot BELIEVE this lens is only $229! As many reviews point out, this lens has virtually ZERO distortion from 75mm all the way up to 300mm and purple fringing(CA) is contained nicely. Needless to say, for a lens at this price point to preform this well is unheard of. This lens combined with the super quick AF of the a200 is a perfect marriage. I compared this to the super sharp Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VR, and although the Nikon is a bit sharper and performs better in low light, the IQ difference is surprisingly small. I can highly recommend this lens and the Sony Alpha system as a whole! - Zoom - Lens - Digital Slr - Alpha'

Third Generation Kindle

OK, seriously, I had been looking for weeks for a practical, reasonably priced Kindle 3 cover that I could read from with ease and has a nice enough appearance and this finally appeared. I am on a very strict budget and thought that if it did its job, even if it didn't turn out so great, it wouldn't be a big deal and it would hold me over until I found something I liked better. I was going crazy having to leave my Kindle at home because I was not risking injury by taking it out with me without a case! This came in yesterday and I couldn't be more pleased! It looks and feels nice, it is very well constructed and my Kindle fits perfectly. I even shook it over a soft surface to give it a test run and it held up perfectly. I can fold back to front cover to read with one hand without damaging the material and the front pocket can hold a little notepad for those of us who prefer taking hand written notes. I highly recommend this to EVERYONE who is appalled at the unreasonably priced Kindle holders that are on the market right now. If you are concerned about style, I'm sure some fabric stickers would pimp this out very nicely ;)

I DID want a cover that I could read out of with one hand, hold a note pad AND zipped completely closed for ultimate protection, but no such thing exists right now for the K3. The screen protector will give added protection, and I'm sure you can buy/make a simple sleeve that this case could fit into if you do extensive traveling or are just very cautious.

VERY happy! :D And BTW, for those of you as thorough as I am, this IS for the Latest (3rd) Generation Kindle. CrazyOnDigital Kindle 3G 3rd Generation Leather Case with Screen Protector

If you can give up on leather and fancy-attached lights, buy this cover!

Cover

-----

Fit:

Fits my Kindle 3G perfectly enough to not give room to shift. The listing photos do a great job of showing off how this is constructed, with two non-stretchy strips supporting the Kindle on the bottom corners, and two snappy elastic bands to keep the reader snug. Once secure, there's about 1/8" extra cover all around the Kindle, which should provide a little protection against scratching the corners and sides or against dropping the thing. I wondered if I could slip a silicone sleeve around the Kindle body, to protect the sides, and then tuck them into the cover, but I'm not sure there's enough room.

The Kindle keeps in place even if I hold from the cover at any angle and shake. I can't say the same for my Kindle 1 original cover, which did the job fine but barely clipped onto unit and left a lot of room for the Kindle to flap about. In contrast, I was confident from the first few seconds tucking my Kindle 3 into this cover that the reader will be held securely in place, no slipping, sliding, or tipping out.

I have not seen the official Kindle 3 cover in action, but I'm leery of the cover only hooking onto the plastic side of the reader (at only 2 points), then folding the front cover back like a paperback, which I'd be afraid would snap either the cover hooks or the Kindle hook-holes.

Another reviewer noted that the bottom strips holding the Kindle 3 down obstruct the "shift", "back", and "directional" buttons. The pictures show this pretty accurately even if they're hard to see, so while the buttons aren't actually covered, the strips do slow down button presses just a bit. The shift and back keys aren't use very often, though, so that's not an issue. The directional button is still usable with thumb presses, and even without the cover I preferred to use my nails for the direction button anyway, a method which is little affected by the cover. If the negligible effect on the buttons is still too much to bear, the straw hack given by the other reviewer seems easy to do, and given the sensibility of the design, there's about 1/8" to lift the Kindle up and away from the bottom strips affecting the buttons.

Feel:

The cover basically doubles or triples the thickness of the Kindle, which actually makes the thin reader much easier to hold. Since the magnetic closure just flaps around when it is open, I clip it to the front cover when it is folded back, even though it does make the right side 6x thicker than the Kindle. The upside is the front cover doesn't flap around, making for a solid thing to hold. And even with this, holding with either or both hands is still very comfortable.

The total weight with Kindle and cover feels like a thin hardcover novel, although, in the shape and size of a thin softcover novel folded back, it's still very nice to hold. If I'm lying down, I can still get a usable hold, with access to page turn buttons: I make the shape of a "W" with my index fingers up and thumbs touching, then rest the bottom of the Kindle against my palms, have my thumbs centered just under the display, and index fingers centered on either side of the display. The rest of my fingers press against the back. In that way I can balance the Kindle without tiring out my thumbs.

Materials:

The cover is made of leatherette material, although it still looks classy even up close. The material is comfortable to hold and textured to give decent grip as long as your hands aren't too moist. I can't say how it will hold up to normal wear and tear, stretching, rubbing, and scraping, but this may be the only real difference between these value cases and most of the $40+ cases using real leather. CrazyOnDigital "branded" their logo on the back bottom spine corner, but it's not very visible (say, 0.3" by 1"). There is no weird chemical smell or anything, which I've gotten from some fake leather.

The inner lining is some kind of cheap-ish fake suede, but it's still comfortable to run my hand against. Plus, there's only a small area where my hand is in contact with it, because of the front cover inner pocket which is covered in the same leatherette material as the cover.

The stitching seems really good, it's really hard to see where the stitches meet, and they are spaced regularly and follow the curves of the cover pieces. Everything is securely stitched together, although the main one-piece leatherette of the cover halves is only stitched on the outside edges, so that the material puffs out a little in the process of folding the cover back. It's fine once it's done folding back, no kinks, pinching, or anything.

The stiff board in the cover (front and back) is probably cardboard similar to that used in medium-duty office/school ring binders, suitable for stability and protection, but I wouldn't bend it. The spine is flexible with no cardboard. Likewise, I wouldn't put too much pressure on the front cover centered over the display area (don't go poking things anywhere in the vicinity of the display). Good enough for a bag, possibly even full sandwiching, but no jabbing or bending.

The magnet clasp snaps definitively into place and is strong enough to pretty much require a direct lifting of the clasp to open it. It adds thickness a bit like a knob on a door, but it seems like a very good tradeoff for securing the cover without resorting to more expensive or clumsier designs.

Other:

All the fiddly bits like power control and USB port on the bottom of the Kindle is accessible without removing the Kindle.

This covers up the speakers on the back of the Kindle, but even leaving the factory packaging plastic on the back (why peel it off?) you still have a lot of slack to turn the volume control up. You could also use headphones, or, if you're like me, stick to using the Kindle for old-fashioned reading and leave the music and audiobooks to mp3 players.

I'm wondering why there's an inner pocket. It adds a bit of thickness, not to mention it makes the front cover a bit uneven. I understand doing leatherette instead of fake suede when folded back, but then why not make the whole inner front cover leatherette? I worried it would put some pressure on one side of the display, but as the pocket rests against the main Kindle body, I can ignore it. I just won't be putting anything in the pocket.

Mailing bag

-----------

Not really a part of the listing, and may not be the case for everybody, but if it is, this is probably the next most useful thing to the cover in buying this listing. My cover was shipped in a tough, flexible, document mailing pouch, 8.5" x 11" sized and flat. It's disposable/recyclable #04 LDPE plastic, but I plan on reusing it instead!

It just so happens this bag fits the covered Kindle so that with one fold, the bag folds down to about 8.5" x 5.5" x 0.75" with little slack! With a little trimming and maybe modifying with glue or some small hardware, I plan on making a proper flap with an elastic loop or velcro to keep it shut. I might even have enough room to add some extra stiff plastic or cardboard inside the bag to add more protection for the display.

This way, I have a water-resistant and unassuming sleeve for the covered Kindle, and it'll even have my name and address to boot!

Screen protector

----------------

I've used protectors before, and I know there are anti-glare (which is like the Kindle's finish, good at diffusing strong light sources so you're not blinded with spots) and clear (like your phone's screen, great for colors and clarity but very reflective). This comes with a clear protector, and since putting that on the Kindle will undo the anti-glare of the Kindle screen I decided to leave it off.

I'll keep the protector for other electronics, so it's still useful, but if I ever want to protect the screen from scratches and smudges, I have another place to buy anti-glare protectors.

Besides, I've had my Kindle 1 since release, and the worst its screen has gotten is dusty and occasionally smudged from brushing my fingers against it. A good cover, clasped shut, is still a very suitable way to protect the display when not in use!

Wrist band

----------

Pretty much the same ilk as the ol' Livestrong bands. Besides CrazyOnDigital branding, it says "Hope", "Faith", "Courage", "Strength", and is as lime-green as the photo. I have no idea what cause it'd be for, except to remind you that you may just be crazy on digital yourself. If it was stretchier, I'd be tempted to use this to wrap the mailing-bag-diy-sleeve.

Currently I am of the opinion that this is just a waste, a small blemish on an otherwise great package that might have otherwise been a few cents cheaper.

Final notes

-----------

I believe this type of cover is among the best values for protecting the Kindle 3 short of buying water-resistant pouches or zippered cases. Personally I'd be most interested in a hard plastic slide-cover like those found on calculators, but I haven't seen any yet--feel free to steal the idea, for this or future Kindles/ereaders.

Particularly, this entire listing, with the screen protector and possibly useful mailing bag, is among the best prices I've seen. Amazon's other listings are for $30+ items, probably leather (if it's worth it to you). The popular e-auction site has this same-designed cover for a couple bucks less but comes only w/ the cover, although you can find it in other colors besides CrazyOnDigital's lovely black. I've also looked at auction photos of the slight variations on this type of cover, and the design that CrazyOnDigital sells seems the most sensibly secure, strong, and minimal/thin/compact.

Mine shipped from the San Francisco area to Southern California, and order to arrival was about 4 to 5 business days via USPS.'

Case - ipod nano watch, case

I needed something cheap and now to use for my Nano until a high end metal band is available for purchase. This fits the bill. It is inexpensive and fits the Nano very well with all buttons covered but clickable through the case and only the headphone port exposed. The Nano clip on the back fits through a hole in the case so you'll have it against your skin, but I don't see any problem with that. The one knock about this is there is no buckle so you have to have some dexterity to get it on your wrist with your other hand. iPod Nano 6 Silicone Watch Band - Black

Seller was quick to ship and no issue there, which is why it gets 2 stars instead of 1.

Watch band was pure crap. Smells awful too. Yes. It has a string chemical odor and silicon doesn't have such an odor, so not sure what it is.

The band barely holds the ipod in. Prone to fall out. Hard to get the strap on.

Don't buy this garbage.

I'm not sure why other buyers would ever review this product to be a decent watch band for a brand New Ipod Nano, BUT when we received this not only was this a piece of crap, but seriously the Ipod Nano kept popping out. It barely fit the Nano. I mean can you imagine if this stupid watch band broke an expensive little gadget? Wow! I would be making the seller pay for a new one! Try not to cheap out on a good watch band for running. Don't spend less and make sure it fits your Nano.

This is being returned to the seller as I write this review too.

Bought this as an add on to a gift that my special someone is getting from his relatives (the iPod Nano 6G). Something to tide them over till they find something that fits their own personal style.

I am giving it 5 stars for now till their review comes in on it. 5 stars for the price and the promised functionality. Also for the care that mycarryingcase (the seller through Amazon) has given to such a small purchase. First was an email thanking me for my purchase. This was a first from any seller for me through Amazon. And this on such an inexpensive item! I bought a $400 lens from a seller through Amazon and never heard a peep from them!

The next surprise came when the item arrived. There was a small Christmas gift type card enclosed in the bag that held the wristband. (Just glad that curiosity got the better side of me, and opened the package to see what was up with this card inside.) For inside was another note, thanking me for my Amazon purchase! Way to go guys at mycarryingcase - will look to see what else you all offer that might work for my purchases.

Just received the iPod case / wristband. iPod does not fit the case. Falls out. Extremely poor design. Pure junk, crap, junk, crap, junk, crap, junk, crap, junk, crap. Will return this as soon as I can. Only bought it on-line because the retail store was out of cases. Should have know better than to trust a picture on a computer. Who was the Engineer that designed this case? Must have an IQ of negative zero. I gave it at least one star because it looks new. - Ipod Nano Watch - Ipod Watch - Case'

British Mysteries - overpriced-kind, ariadne oliver

Even though "Hallowe'en Party" was written later in Agatha Christie's career, and some might believe it to be somewhat of a letdown from earlier works, it retains all the trademarks of what make Christie's intricately woven, delightfully detected mysteries so endearing and timeless. With Hercule Poirot serving as the sleuth who steps in to solve the murder, "Hallowe'en Party" is quick-paced and filled with a cast of characters who seemingly all have something to gain, or hide.

When a young teen is found murdered at a Halloween party, Hercule Poirot is called in by a visiting mystery writer. She is troubled by something that the girl had said during preparations for the party. The young victim claims to have seen a murder committed, and Poirot is quick to believe that she was murdered in order for that murder to remain unknown. He soon sets himself to the task of interviewing a wide cast of the town's inhabitants, raising questions about not only present events, but those in the past that just might be connected to the tragedy. When another murder hits too close to home, Poirot knows that he must convince the lawmen in charge that he has fitted the puzzle together correctly.

"Hallowe'en Party" is plotted out to perfection; the solution, and the requisite explanatory chapter in which Poirot explains how he solved the crime at hand, is as ingenious as it is 'right before your eyes' if the reader is paying close attention to the clues. As always, Agatha Christie has fashioned a delectable mystery that has remained timeless in its plot (even if some of the language, and fashions mentioned for that matter, are a bit dated). Hallowe'en Party

The story begins innocently enough - a children's Hallowe'en party. One of the adult guests is Ariadne Oliver, the famous crime novelist. One of the children at the party, in order to impress Mrs. Oliver claims to have seen a murder committed. No one takes any notice, dismissing her story, until the girl turns up dead at the end of the party. Horrified by the tragedy, Mrs. Oliver turns to her old friend Hercule Poirot for help, despite her belief that women should be running Scotland Yard! Poirot begins investigating and realizes that the child was killed in order to prevent discovery of another, much older crime. But raking up the past is dangerous as it can cause a killer to strike again...very chilling mystery, notable for its air of subtle menace and cruelty. Although the identity of the killer was fairly obvious midway through the book, I think Christie afficionadoes will like the psychological analysis of the motives for the crime, as well as of the criminal. Another good Poirot mystery.

Agatha Christie was a true mistress at presenting unique mystery plots and shocking conclusions! Although Miss Jane Marple is my favorite of her series detectives, Belgian detective Hercule Poirot is just as engaging and worth getting to know. His gentle arrogance and wit alone are well worth taking the time to try one of the instalments in this particular series, not to mention his brilliant deductive powers. "Halloween Party" is one of Christie's Hercule Poirot works, ranking up there with "Death On the Nile," "Murder On the Orient Express," and "The ABC Murders." The only minor complaint for me is that Captain Arthur Hastings does not appear in this book.

This particular instalment involves Poirot's friend, mystery writer Ariadne Oliver, who is helping a friend prepare a halloween party for preteens of the country village. The party is a huge success until one of the girls, who has a habit of revealing more information than she should, is found drowned in the apple bobbing tub. She had told people earlier in the day that she had seen a murder being committed a year or two earlier. Could someone at the party have heard her and decided to silence the girl before she revealed what she knew? Ariadne Oliver enlists the help of Hercule Poirot, and his brilliant "Little Grey Cells" begin their work. This mystery has a chilling undercurrent, because Christie uses the horrific occurrence of a child being murdered, and Poirot must confront a truly sociopathic killer who will stop at nothing to remain in the dark.

The audio verssion of this book is superb, and features John Moffat as narrator. He originally played Poirot on several BBC radio productions of the series, and does well portraying different characters. I thoroughly recommend the book on a long car ride or while working around the house. It will make the time go much faster.

Agatha Christie presents readers with another gem! As with mostly all of her books, this one certainly does not disappoint. Please give it a chance. Happy reading!

One of the later Hercule Poirot novels, this book is deftly written and keeps you guessing until the end. Everytime I thought I had it figured out something popped up that made me question my conclusions.

This book has all of Agatha Christie's usual flair for plotting out a plausible solution to a seemingly unsolvable crime. In a few places the narrative seemed a little drawn out, but this was more than made up for by an exciting ending and Christie's excellently descriptive writting.

Highly recommended for fans of Agatha Chritie and mystery novels in general.

This is one of Christie's easier mysteries to figure out but the murders are just nasty enough to be almost comical. The drowning of children shouldn't be funny but here, I think Agatha was in a dark, black comedy mood. Besides, the 2 victims are rather obnoxious... so it makes it more humorous. While you'll guess the whodunit right away (how can you not?), she does throw in a few twists at the end that only Poirot could have unravelled. Not a great book, but not bad either. After all, Christie did write it and she seldom wrote a bad story in her career. Good stuff, as one reader mentioned, to curl up with in autumn weather. - Ariadne Oliver - Overpriced-kind - Hercule Poirot - British Mysteries'

External Hard Drive - portable hard drive, external hard drive

I've used LaCie drives for years and they seem to fail far less often than other drives I've used (WD, Seagate, Maxtor.) Perhaps one of the reasons that my hard drives fail often is that I tend to be a little rough on them. I edit video, often on location, so I drag my drives all over the place. I'm hoping with it's rubberized shell, this LaCie will go the distance. I love that it is self-powered so I don't have to lug a power adapter with me. It's one of the few portable drives that is fast enough for video editing. I purchased the case LaCie Cozy 3.5-Inch Hard Drive Carrying Case 130903 (Grey) for it as well to further protect it. I'll update this review if it dies.

Update: I've used this drive for a year and it's still going strong. I'm going to upgrade to a larger capacity model soon.

I purchased this item from Amazon on Feb 10, 2010.

It fails on Mar 2, 2010.

It worked great for the first 20 odd days!

I contacted Lacie on Mar 2 and got the run-around for two days. I purchased the $49.99 Premium Care for this drive to help expedite support.

It is now Mar 5, and Lacie has not responded to my support ticket (the last correspondence indicated I still needed to pay for shipment back to Lacie.

Advise - NEVER purchase any support from Lacie - they have no clue what it really means. Seagate offers a $19.99 advance replacement program which I have used once and the experience with them was awesome.

-Shawn

I have owned this for about 4 months and I believe that it's great. I have tested it on both a Mac and Windows computer and it performs well on either computer.

Here's what I love about this hard drive:

-7200 rpm: This is how fast the drive spins. The 7200 rmp allows faster copying and writing to the drive and to your computer. See Speed Tests below.

-FireWire 800, FireWire 400, USB 2.0: These are all the ways you can connect the hard dive to your computer. I can connect the hard drive to my PC with the included USB 2.0 cable and when I need to use it on my Mac, I can either plug it into the Mac with the same USB cable or just switch to using a FireWire 800 if I want faster copying/writing to the drive.

-No power cord needed: The drive gets its power from your computer when you connect it with one of the cables. If you have an older computer, LaCie does include an extra USB cord that provides power to the drive. You just plug in the extra USB to power the drive and another cable (USB or FireWire) to your computer.

-Portable: This drive is small enough to carry in a purse or briefcase and doesn't take much space. It's also very light!

Speed Tests:

USB 2.0 - Copying a 1 GB file from PC to LaCie takes about 50 seconds. Copying a 1 GB file from LaCie to PC takes about 45 seconds.

FireWire 400 - Copying a 1 GB file from PC to LaCie takes about 29 seconds. Copying a 1 GB file from LaCie to PC takes about 25 seconds.

FireWire 800 - Copying a 1 GB file from PC to LaCie takes about 20 seconds. Copying a 1 GB file from LaCie to PC takes about 17 seconds.

In response to reviews that say the drive has failed, I have not have my drive fail at all.

Was all good for about a year. Then started acting funny. Would stop spinning while still mounted. Customer service was fast and after troubleshooting wouldn't help. I was able to send it in for repair. Repair was free and took about 2 weeks.

I've purchased a lot of portable drives in the past 10 years. I've had problems with many of them, even others from LaCie.

I don't buy USB only devices. USB is slow, and my time is worth more than the few dollars difference to get multiple interfaces on my drives. I use Firewire 800 when possible, but it's nice that USB works.

Portable drives get thrown around a lot more than a desktop unit, and with passive cooling it's no surprise they have a higher failure rate. I've found out the hard way that the most reliable devices are those that don't push the engineering limits of the case, and contain a drive that's a bit more mature. Thus, I don't get the "biggest" drive and I try to select drive sizes that I know have been shipping for some time. Since performance is important to me, I select 7200 RPM drives although they tend to run hotter than the 5400 RPM devices.

I've carried my latest LaCie 320GB 7200RPM drive back and forth to work every day for over a year, I run my email off of it and have never had a failure with this drive or any of the Rugged Terrain enclosures I've been using since they started shipping. When I'm loading the drive up with it's initial 70GB of data, it gets hot, but unless I'm doing a lost of copying, or backing up the entire device, it stays warm, not hot.

I've got at least 8 of these in use around my company, not one has failed. I hope you are as lucky as I am! - External Hard Drive - Firewire 800 - Portable Hard Drive - Firewire 400'

Beaded - wrap, bracelet

I'm over 40 and I bought this for by 14 year old's birthday. Given previous reviews about the beads looking plastic I wasn't expecting too much. Well, I was pleasantly surprised. The beads may be plastic but they certainly don't look like it without staring at an individual bead for awhile. The bracelet really looks nice and "expensive", in fact, I've borrowed it a few times and completely enjoy the way it looks. If she wasn't the sharing type, I'd buy one for myself. Highly recommended - great deal for the price, and its held up well. 26" Brown Leather & Multi Square Mosaic Bead Wrap Bracelet - Bracelet - Wrap - Leather Bracelet'

aquatic mp3 player - aquatic mp3 player

I purchased this product to use during a triathlon class. It's by no means a replacement for other music players, but I'd much rather bring this in the water than anything else. The buttons are big so it's pretty easy to manage while it sits on the back of my head. It's pretty flat so it doesn't move around much. It's very lightweight so I never notice it.

The waterproof ear buds aren't the greatest, though I've never tried any others so I'm not sure what to compare them to. When I swim they pretty easily fall out so I bought a swim cap for for a few bucks and it helps. I've had no problem with water getting into the ear buds and damaging them. It's just a pain when water sits between the buds and my ear muting the sound. I typically just turn the sound up louder to try and help. There are plenty of different ear bud sizes which I haven't tried so I may be just using the wrong size.

The dry buds work great. There's a nice little arm band which works well when I'm out for a run or in the gym. I've never heard the devise skip. It simply works.

One miner problem I've encountered is the device seems to skip the first half second of each song whether in continuous play or shuffle. It's not that big of a deal but don't plan on listening to Dark Side of the Moon or something else which really needs gapless playback. Also, the devise does not remember its own shuffle order so if it's in shuffle, you complete a song and want to listen to it again, hitting the back button will take you back to an entirely different song. Once again, not that big of a deal, but worth noting.

I work out typically four times a week for an hour a day, once or twice in water and this gets the job done. I charge it at the end of the week and maybe change up the music. Simple drag and drop. No special software which I like. Diver (TM) Waterproof MP3 Player. 4 GB. Kit Includes Waterproof Earphones. (Blue)

Reasonable for the price. Has the smaller earphone jack so can only use their earbuds. "Waterproof" earbuds really sound cheap. I've Seen other product reviews on other brands and that seems to be the problem with all other brands also. Problem is the instructions state do not allow water in the earbuds or it will damage them!! They are supposed to be waterproof!! Still make paddle boarding or swimming way more enjoyable!!!

They will fall out when swimming. I am not a fast swimmer and they fell out many times. Not sure if the ribbed buds from others are any better. Still better than nothing. The "dry" earbuds that come with have GREAT sound though.

Simple to load music, just drag and drop.

Battery life about 3-4 hours.

Bud wire screws in so it will not fall out. That's good.

You can not remove the ear hangers from the buds like some other brands.

Simple to operate except the mode indicator light is too dim outdoors so you are guessing until you hear songs whether it is in shuffle or order mode.

I took a gamble on this one since there were no reviews and I would say just OK.

I ordered the black version of this model. I absolutely love it. I swim 2-3 miles a week in the Y pool and after I found the right ear bud size, I can swim for over an hour and not have to adjust it. I found that it is best to use your swim goggle straps to help hold the plastic over the ear pieces in place. If you do get water in the ear, you can simply pull out the ear bud, give it a shake and your good to go. Great product for the price. Transferring music is really simple to. Plug in in to your computer and just cut and paste MP3 files.

I've owned this device for 10 months now. I swim for an hour stretch at a time, at least 3 times a week, so this device gets used a lot. Problem I have with the device is the earphones. Apparently you can't get them wet? I've returned the original headphones once to get them replaced and I purchased two spare ones after the last pair died after 6 months. The new ones started to have problems almost immediately. They start with a slight loss in sound until one goes out completely and then the other one starts to fade again. So while it was cheap etc, I guess if you have to buy enough replacement earphones your initial savings becomes moot.

I am so glad I bought this. I don't get bored anymore while I am swimming. I used it maybe 8 times now. The earphones do slip out at times and I have to remove the water from my ears to hear the music, but they give me so many different size ear plugs that I know I just need to experiment to get the right size. I know that if I wore goggle or a swim cap, I wouldn't have this problem, but I just don't want to wear a swim cap or goggles. I have put hundreds of songs on it and there is so much more room. You can't adjust how the music is played, ie suffle or straight, but if I don't like the order, I just skip the song so I have no complaints.

I wanted an MP3 for swim training in the pool for the long MN winters and shopped online for weeks to try to figure out which one I wanted. After countless review read I ended up ordering both the Diver and the Speedo Aquabeat. I shoppped all over and was unable to find any in a store which was really frustrating because I was worried about how the ear buds would feel. I can't wear the new plug type because they hurt after about 10 munutes.

I found myself unable to load the Diver until I read the instructions for the Aquabeat which gave directions to convert my Itunes to MP3. It's not hard, I just didn't understand how to do it. That caused a little grief and frustration but once I figured that out, it went well for loading both.

Basically, for the money and limited use, the Diver is just fine. It is definately more "tinny" than the Aquabeat so if you are a real music nut then spend some more money on the Aquabeat. If you are just looking for a fill in MP3 to swim with a few hours a week, it is great. I have yet to try anything other than music but think it would be great for Pod casts.

I found the ear buds on both to be pretty good. I don't think the Diver are really waterproof as they to tell you not to get them wet. I have. It happens. They move around. Sometimes they stay in perfectly and sometimes I have to constantly mess with them. If no one bothers me and I don't take them out right from the locker room, then they are better. If I take them out because someone tries to talk to me (!) then I usually end up having an issue for the remander of the swim. Better to shut the thing off and try to listen than take them out. I think if you made sure your ears were really clean, like gently Q-Tip them out with alcohol they wouldn't slip out from natural oils. I don't wear goggles but I wear a swim cap so I just tuck the unit up under in the back. No problems. - Aquatic Mp3 Player'

Point And Shoot - travel charger, nikon

This is a nice addition to my S8000 Nikon camera which augments my professional stuff for when it is just easier to have a camera on my belt. However, Nikon should have included this with the camera instead of giving a power cord so that the camera has to recharge the battery! All my other cameras have had a separate charger. With all of our ability to read memory cards built into the computers now, there is no need to use a power cord for a camera at all any more. The other concern with this charger, even though I believe we need it, is that it has a long cord to plug into the wall and carry around instead of a module that plugs in with the battery attached. We buy cameras like this for their size so why add a bulky charger and cord to have to lug around? Thankfully though at least this seperate charger is available even though it shouldn't need to be.... Nikon MH-65 Li-Ion Battery Charger for Nikon EN-EL12 Rechargeable Li-Ion Battery

Having a spare battery charger is a must and being able to stuff it inside your camera bag along with all the other junk you take with you is a given. Unfortunately, this Nikon charger fails the consumer miserably. Instead of allowing you to plug the charger directly into an outlet, this charger comes with an extremely long cord that you plug into the charger and then into your outlet. It's large and bulky and will not travel comfortably with you in your bag. Thumbs up on the charger, thumbs down on the design. I guess we're caught between a rock and a hard place with this one.

Nikon went really cheap by not providing this charger alongwith the digital camera unlike previous models where this was part of the camera. this charger comes really handy for charging batteries faster especially when you have spare batteries that need to be charged as well. - Nikon - Nikon Coolpix - Travel Charger - Photography'

Memory Card - 16 gb, sdhc card

I simply could not find a 32GB version of this card. However, this SanDisk Extreme HD Video 16GB SDHC Class-6 Memory Card (SDSDRX3-016G-A21) worked perfectly in my Kodak Zi8 Camcorder at 720 and 1080 HD settings. So far, recording and playback have been flawless. I ordered the mem via Amazon on 25May2010, and received it on 29May2010 via USPS. The cost was about $75 and the shipping was free. SanDisk Extreme HD Video 16 GB SDHC Class 10 Memory Card (SDSDRX3-016G-A21)

My wife and I were so impressed with our first card that we just purchased our second Extreme HD Video card. Pictures from our Canon HD video camera are perfect using this card and all features of the camera are available. We found that using cheaper cards caused the camera to disable some recording features.

Clearly, the SanDisk Extreme for HD video is the right memory card for you HD video camera. But, purchasing this card at Amazon.com from one of the more competative vendors will save you big bucks. I've purchased two for a total price of less than I could find elsewhere, for a single card. The most expensive price I found was at a place that claims to be the "best buy". Not even close! This card saves my pictures and video flawlessly in both a Canon Rebel SLR and my GoPro HD Hero video cameras.

This is my 2nd one of these cards I purchased as the first one was great (first was about 4 months ago). The product picture above is actually deceiving as when I received this card it came as "Extreme HD Video 30MB/s Class 10 SDHC UHS-I". It however is the exact same model number as the 20MB/s card I have and worked great in my Sony SLT-A33 camera until about halfway through the card capacity I took a picture, clicked review, and my camera locked up and couldn't read the memory card. I was able to thankfully retrieve all the pictures using one of my computers that same day, but trying now my computer can no longer read it. I've always used SanDisk cards and this is the first time I've ever had a read/write issue with them. Since the card is so new, SanDisk support recommended I simply get a replacement through Amazon.

The card shown is not the card I received. I got a 30mb/s card that is a class 10. This is a great card! I used it in my canon DSLR T2i down at the beach filming my youth paddlers in the canoe. Full sunlight, 1080i and not even a hiccup. These cards seem to be the best bang for the buck (excluding non-name brands of course)at the moment. Only thing that makes me hesitate buying them again is the fact that they aren't made in the USA.

Worked perfectly with my Sony HX-5 for HD video and also 10fps burst that this camera has.

Amazing, however, that how fast the prices are falling. It is more than 15% down in a month !!
