Power Adapter - xmp3, car radio

This is actually a great product with a 1 year warrantee for use with ReadyXT,XPress, MiFi,TAO XM2go,AirWare,inno,Helix, & NeXus, It attaches securely to the lighter port in your car & monitors connection with an LED light indicator for unlimited playtime in the car. Belkin F5X005 Auto Power Adapter for XM

Bought this for a replacement on my Pioneer Inno. Busted my old one in the boat last summer. Someone who shall remain nameless was standing up when the driver gunned the boat. Fell into the wires and pulled the charger sideways and snapped it. Figured I would have to buy an entire new car kit for $80 just to get the OEM style charger. Luckily I found one on here. Works great. Have had for about a year now and no problems.

It's only been a few weeks, but so far this replacement car power adapter for XM Inno has worked great. In my opinion it's worth it for the low price as compared to the replacement cost for original equipment.

This item was listed first in my search for a power cord and turned out to be the wrong one. After calling customer service they told me it was mine and Amaozons problem and there was nothing they would do about it. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, there are too many other options out there.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I have an XMp3 radio and wanted to use it in the car. All I needed was the power adapter, not all the other accessories. It has worked great!!! Very happy with purchase. - Xm Satellite Radio - Xm Radio - Xmp3 - Car Radio'

Wireless Doorbell - cordless doorbell, musical doorbell

16 tunes with accompanying static. Battery operated, so that the receivers can be left wherever you like, without plugging anything into an electrical socket. Also, an unorthodox mini battery in the transmiter - never seen one like this before! Hope it's replaceable. What's more, since you attach the button transmitter with 2 sided tape, it's easy enough for someone to walk off with your transmitter. This is NOT AN ELOQUENT SOLUTION. It will work. Nothing to plug into the wall. And the bonus is you get 2 receivers for different rooms or even different buildings, if you can put up with the sound. Not terrible - there's a choice of which tune you'd like to hear with static. My suggestion, get something more eloquent; or keep that bell of your door and no one will bother you! It's not all bad; but the sound definitely won't put you in a heavenly state. Tunes: cuckoo! Fur Elise, I Wish you a Merry Xmas, Ding Dong, Ding Ding Dong, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer among others . . . . Apparently this was manufactured in Japan, and the folks there seem to think we love Xmas tunes all year round! Functional, but someone might walk off with it! WIRELESS DOORBELL 1 REMOTE 2 CHIMES 32 SOUNDS - YELLOW

I could not believe the price and was concerned of the quality. I found out this does work and works great. I have the doorbell outside and it went through rain and snow and still works great. I love how I can change the chimes on these. I have one upstairs and downstairs a good distance apart and from the doorbell and they work every time. This is one great quality product and I recommend it very highly.

these little doorbells are efficient , long range/thru walls and lots of options on sounds. VERY LOUD and they blink when pushed outside. i spent sooooo much money on mid range to upper reange pricey wireless doorbells and thru every one out or returned it caus even tho it said "thru walls" it didnt work. i laughed at the price of these and thought know way will they work but they were so inexpensive i said what do I have to lose ....its my last option b4 going mega$ on doorbell/ intercom/ security audio /visual camera aet up WHICH I DONT NEED AT MY PLACE. ,,,,WOW. everyone by one now b4 everyone catches on and something changes ...im buying extra for safe keeping in case something happens to mine. i have never written a review like this, I am still delirious that these little cute doorbells actually do everything they say with an A+++. unbelieveable, really.. even if you are napping hard these loud buggers will get you up not to miss the door! thank you very much whoever you are that makes these and at a obvious price that says all the other guys are hiking up the prices big time and still not clever enough to deliver what they say . so you are clever , efficient and wireless doorbell thru wall KINGS!

I ordered this wireless doorbell to use as a emergency call button for my elderly father. He is very infirm and I can't spend 24hrs a day in his room. I ordered this and use it as a button around his neck in case he needs help. I can be in the kitchen, downstairs in the laundry room, doing work in my office, or just resting in my bedroom. I can continue my work and know that if he needs help all he has to do is push his button (hung around his neck) and I can be alerted immediately. I put one bell centrally located upstairs and the other bell downstairs and they both sound loudly with one push of his button. The work great and give me more peace of mind when I'm doing other work.

The product works fine. I had to pull a little on the battery contact on the the chime button. The battery did not touch the contact. After pulling it out a little the chimes work well. I have one chime box upstairs and one down. I love the fact that there are 16 choices of sounds/chimes. I dont like the looks of the exterior button, and the seller says I can not use a different button(something purchased at the hardware store) Also I wish there were two buttons. One for the front door and one for the back. I will use these until they break and then try to buy something that has two buttons(one for back and one for front) Hopefully I will find a button that I find more attractive. It was shipped fast and it works fine.

This product is very poorly made. One chime quit working after several test rings;one wire had a cold solder joint and popped off. The bracket for the 12volt battery will barely hold it in place.

[This is a long review warranted by the number of features of the BDP-S580. I want to try to provide as much relevant information as I can in an attempt to make this as useful to you as possible. If you only want a one line "this is great" review, I apologize, but some folks like details :) I know I do.]

IMPORTANT NOTE: I have added a number of updates and edits over time to keep this review up to date. Be sure to check those as they can show resolutions to earlier problems I experienced. Typically I left the original issues in place in the review, followed by an Edit with a resolution, so that other people running into the same problem may be able to find answers.

Some background...

This was bought to replace an older Sharp HP20U Blu-Ray player and some of the features of a DLink DSM-520 network media player. After also having owned the Sony BDP-S570 (the prior model to the S580) for a short while as a first replacement effort, I decided to return that and get this newer BDP-S580 model instead in the hope they might eventually fix or improve on a lot of the DLNA flaws in the 570.

Let me say up front that I do like this unit, but have some concerns.

I am running wired connection over gigabit LAN with CAT6, although this device only has a 100M ethernet connection, and use the fastest available Charter service where I typically get 15 to 28 Mbps download speed at any given time. I am using HDMI connections through a receiver to a Sharp 1080p TV.

First the good...

1) Blu-ray load times are far faster than many other devices out there. This was one of the main points I wanted to get with the unit. In fact the prior BDP-S570 release is still one of CNET's fastest ever loaders, even with the 'quick start' feature turned off, and this is comparable. I do recommend leaving the fast-start option off in general in order to save energy; the money cost of keeping the device in a kind of startup mode is not worth it if the player can get up to speed quite quickly anyway. As a load speed test, I used the "Avatar" BD, the worst loader by a long shot among disks I own. Avator took over 5 minutes to get to the main menu screen on my old Sharp, and on the Sony it gets to the main menu in around 2 mins 50 secs. This is still not quick, but remember that this is the worst loader I have ever seen. Other BDs such as "Master and Commander", "Cars", or "300" all got to their menus within around 30 secs, and by getting to the main menu, I mean it had to go through all the FBI copyright warnings etc.

2) The unit is quiet when playing a disk. Not silent, but seems better than the S570 and far better than the old Sharp. Note that when you leave a disk in while using other features of the s580, it still makes some noise as if it is always keeping the BD ready to go. I suppose this is no bad idea for a quick launch when you choose the BD from the menu system.

3) The BDP-S580 uses Sony's standard XDB interface that can be found on the PS3, PSP etc. I like it but some don't. In my opinion it is quick, clean, simple to navigate, and this particular device seems to respond very quickly when scrolling the icons/options (some have seemed more sluggish).

4) I had no issues with buffering, stuttering or pausing during playback of online video. I used Amazon Instant Video, Crackle, YouTube, and the Hulu Plus free HD video to test. No issues during playback of online audio either using Pandora, NPR, Slacker. However, please see notes below in the 'bad' section that relate to actually getting the streaming to start...

5) DLNA playback of Audio files is good and the interface is fast and responsive. Much faster than the Dlink DSM-520. All files have played great so far, and include .wma and .mp3 formats. Note that this comment is in regard to AUDIO FILES ONLY, see the 'bad' section for my thoughts on VIDEO files across DLNA...

6) Picture quality from BD is better than my Sharp player. I believe this is largely due to the deep color system that Sony uses. In fact there are several levels of color depth you can choose if you feel inclined to do so (I just left mine on the Auto setting)

7) Upconversion of standard DVDs is excellent. Most BD players that upconvert DVDs do it well, and this is no exception.

8) The "direct attach" USB drive option is improved in the S580 over the S570. This is where you use some kind of external USB drive - portable drive, desktop storage or even USB stick - and plug it directly into the USB port on the S580 to access files on it. There are 2 USB ports on the S580 which is helpful, one front, one rear. With the 570 you could only use FAT formatted drives which are generally not a great idea, but the S580 is now improved to allow use of NTFS formatted drives.

9) It has a general Internet Browser. This is useful but limited. I have run into issues where pages are not very navigable (msn.com) or where they fail with a reported 'page is too big' error (hulu.com). Where possible, using 'mobile' versions of the web page tends to be best.

10) You can pair this player to a compatible TV etc to allow one to control the other via HDMI. I turned this off to reduce 'overhead' since it will do nothing for me with my Sharp TV and receiver, but I wanted to note this.

11) Media types that can be played from a directly attached USB drive are numerous, and include the following (taken from the Sony BDP-S580 manual as of 3/25/11 - take note of the "*" numbers and check the info underneath!):

VIDEO File format Extensions:

MPEG-1 Video/PS*1*2, MPEG-2 Video/PS, TS*1*3 (".mpg," ".mpeg,",".m2ts," ".mts")

MPEG-4 AVC*1*2 (".mkv," ".mp4,",".m4v," ".m2ts,",".mts")

WMV9*1*2 (".wmv," ".asf")

AVCHD*2 *4

Xvid (".avi")

AUDIO File format Extensions:

MP3 (MPEG-1 AudioLayer III) (".mp3")

AAC*1*2*5 (".m4a")

WMA9 Standard*1*2*5 (".wma")

LPCM (".wav")

PHOTO File format Extensions:

JPEG (".jpg," ".jpeg")

What the *Notes mean:

*1 The player does not play coded files such as DRM.

*2 The player does not play this file format on a DLNA server.

*3 The player can only play standard definition video on a DLNA server.

*4 The player plays AVCHD format files that are recorded on a digital video camera, etc. The

AVCHD format disc will not play if it has not been correctly finalized.

*5 The player does not play coded files such as Lossless.

Now the not so good...

1) I wanted this to be a replacement for my old DSM-520 network media player. I knew from bad experience with the s570 that this would not be possible, and you can see from the list of formats above with the *2 note against them that Sony does not expect those to play. Essentially MPEG2 and a subset of AVI are the only video formats that 'might' work. These notes here are to warn others, and don't directly affect my rating since I expected it, although I am hoping future firmware releases might improve the offering. While the s580 is DLNA certified, this means that it essentially only needs to be able to play a VERY minimum range of video formats, and even then, depending on things such as the specific codecs used, it still might not work. I have a number of video files in several different formats - none of which will even be seen to allow me to try to play. This includes .mp4, .vob, .iso, .avi, .m4v, .wmv all shared from a Iomega network storage device pushing out via a built in media server. [see edit below]

***

[EDIT 4/2/11] After getting a replacement unit, I am now able to see and play .mpg, .mp4(when renamed to .mpg), some .wmv, some .avi, all .vob. My original lemon would not let me even see these, now I can see and play. I am leaving the original note in place to help others who might run into the same problem.

***

Assuming you have a number of different format video files, if you want to be able to play ALL of your video files across your network to the BDP-S580, you will either need to use a media server that will transcode your files on the fly to something like MPEG2, manually convert all your media to a format that is supported (prohibitively annoying for most people) or get a different network media player instead of this.

(A reminder: the above note is really only regarding Video files on DLNA. My music files all behave beautifully so far, and include .wma and .mp3)

2) Playing of online video files. As I mentioned previously, playing online video files is great, but getting to them or getting them to start can be quite a slog. For some reason it takes ages (well, maybe 1-3 minutes) to get them to start. I'm not sure what the issue is. I'm running wired, not wireless. When I get the media playing I can see that I am getting over 18Mbps consistent download speed. When it runs, it can play high def files with no apparent issues. Its just connecting to the individual services, and in some cases opening the files when you get there, that takes so long. What's odd - again - is that I don't recall this being a problem with the BDP-S570 (the OLD model). I did set a static IP address and network info just in case it helped, as mentioned by another reviewer, but it made no difference for me. [see edit below]

***

[EDIT 4/4/11] This issue has been resolved by assigning a free public DNS server (8.8.4.4) as my primary DNS server in the network configuration. Originally I had this set to my local DNS server (my 192.168.x.x router). I don't know why this would really make a difference and I have never had any other issues with my DLink DIR-655 router serving as my DNS server before, however this does indeed resolve my problem. I no longer have any connectivity issues when connecting to the online video services like Amazon, Crackle or Hulu. I am leaving the original note in place to help others who might run into the same problem.

***

3) I have seen notes on CNET and elsewhere that BD-Live disks take a lot longer to connect up and start on the 580 than on other models. I did not see this noted for the 570, so this might be related to note 2 above. The S580 has no internal memory, whereas the prior S570 had 1GB built in RAM which perhaps explains the connectivity issue?

4) I could not upgrade my firmware over wired network. It would see it and try to download it, but would eventually give a network connectivity error despite the fact that everything else was able to run OK. I updated to the latest firmware using the CD method from the Sony website. Again, possibly related to item 2 - failing in the connection portion?

***

[EDIT 4/2/11] After getting a replacement unit, I was able to upgrade firmware over the network. I am leaving the original note in place to help others who might run into the same problem.

***

5) Worth noting that as well as losing the internal 1GB RAM, you also lose the ability to output high def signal over component cable. Others have noted this too, and it is a fair point, but this affects *ALL* BD players built since 1/1/2011. This does not concern me as I use HDMI.

6) [5/13/11] The description on Amazon says that this unit can stream live sports, however no channels or live sport content appears to exist as of this time.

So overall I like the unit despite it's shortcomings, and basically those (to me) can be summarized as peculiar network connectivity issues where the initial connections were slow (EDIT: workaround is to add a static DNS server), and the poor implementation of the DLNA media player. The DLNA issue is especially annoying since it will play many more file types from attached-USB than it will across the network, so I know the player can handle them. As I said earlier I don't reject it because of this (I expected it from all my research and testing of the prior s570 model) but it is so close to being right that it is a shame. Hopefully this will be improved over time with firmware upgrades, but I won't hold my breath.

I have not tested Netflix or services other than those mentioned above yet, and if I do I will update this review. Likewise, I will update as I find new "quirks", good or bad. Finally, it is likely I will try to get another S570 and possibly a replacement for this S580. The first is to confirm what I recall from the comparison, and the second to make sure I don't just have a lemon network interface in my unit. I almost get the feeling its something like that.

Feel free to comment to ask me a question!

[Update 3/28/11]

Got the wireless up and running, and although it is indeed wireless N the performance isn't great. My DLink DIR-655 router is running in native N mode (i.e. only N and not a combination of b/g/n etc). Wireless signal is weaker that it should be given where it is in my setup. With 2.4Ghz frequency - which I understand as being the 'single band' rather than newer, stronger 'dual band' implementation of Wireless N - I was expecting some drop off, but it was worse than I thought. Performance was OK but noticeably slower than the wired when connecting to the online services (Amazon, YouTube and Crackle in my test), which is a little odd. Even if I was only getting a poor 20Mbps from the S580 to my router (and it should be a lot more than that [more testing to come]) that is almost enough to match my inbound ISP connection, which as mentioned before is typically 15-28Mbps, and one would therefore not expect such a significant difference over wired. One reason for testing the wireless was to see if it actually performed better than wired, in the event that the wired connection might be bad, but I just managed to prove that the wireless is worse than my wired. Might still have a lemon with regards to networking, or this might be the norm for the s580.

[Update 3/31/11]

Some updates on the slowness of the S580 regarding connecting to internet video... When powering on, I cannot even access any internet service for over 2:15 (2 mins 15 secs). Trying to access any of the services during that time results in a "Checking the network connection, please wait" message and it drops back to the main menu. Once that is finally up and running, getting to the main menus for the following services took:

Crackle : 2:28, Amazon Video : 3:00, Hulu Plus : approx 1:00 (stopwatch issues, but it was about that)

Once connected, and after selecting a video, it took sbout 48-55 seconds to start numerous TV episodes (Doctor Who, Red Dwarf) on Amazon, and 1:28 to start a sample Family Guy episode on Hulu Plus.

As mentioned in my original review, I get no issues once the playback begins - no buffering or stuttering at all in any of my tests. It is just the connection time to the service and the video.

Now here's where it gets weird. After some time of playing around, the apps started to load up much faster, e.g. Amazon loading in approx 5 seconds rather than 3 minutes. The time to starting streaming of the episodes also improved across the board. I'm not sure why this would be the case.

For any of these internet video services, the 'icons' you click on to select e.g. "TV Episodes" or "Current Movies" don't always appear correctly on the screen. Superficial, but odd. It seems like the ones you have clicked on previously are the ones that don't look right, and this can be problematic where the name is normally shown on the icon but now it is not visible - you need to highlight it and see what it shows at the bottom of the screen. I had noticed this the other day but forgot to mention in my original review.

Lastly, when trying to "resume" a movie on Amazon (Mask HD), it actually locked up the unit. I had to physically pull the cable from the wall to shut it down and reboot it.

** Additionally I also re-verified against an S570 using the same setup on my network with the same wired network connection (even used the same cable to be sure). I can confirm the following:

-Yes, the S570 loads up faster, and is very slightly louder than the S580.

-Yes, the S570 is WAAAYYY faster connecting to any internet video connections, and you can access them almost as soon as you turn the device on (no 2:15 wait). Crackle: 0:07 (7 secs!), Amazon: 0:07, Hulu Plus 0:04.

-No, the S570 does not have a general internet browser like the S580 does.

I will be sending the S580 back ASAP on the assumption I have a lemon and will update to confirm when I have tested the replacement.

[Update 4/2/11]

I received the replacement and its a lot of good news and some bad news:

1) New S580 WAS able to update the firmware over the internet (had to use manual CD method for original)

2) New S580 is now able to see and play several video formats over DLNA from my net media player (none with original unit). Actually it worked with even more than I expected based on the specs from Sony (played some AVIs, all WMV, MP4 when renamed to MPG, all VOB)

3) New S580 is SOMETIMES faster to get to the online media services, but other times I get "A network error occurred" message after around 1:15 which never happened on the original. Generally though, connecting speed is about the same. Hardcoding the IP address/network settings still doesn't make a difference for me.

This is great news since it proves my original unit was defective regarding it's network interface in some way, although when it works it is still slower than I believe it ought to be. The S570 is almost instant connection to the online media services (around 5 secs) so why is the S580 so much worse? This remains true even when I attach a USB stick in an attempt to give it some kind of pseudo memory to use should it need it (trying to make up somewhat for the 1GB taken out that the S570 has)

If you experience bad network issues like I did, I would strongly recommend getting a replacement. I can see at least one other review here where the same issues I had exist. I'm torn now between the S570 or this S580 (570=so much faster to access online, 580=almost unusable connect times to online video, NTFS format USB support, internet browser, newer so more likely to get useful firmware fixes)

I will add portions of this update into my original review to identify where the bad unit was at fault.

[Update 4/4/11]

Connection issues have been resolved! Adding a secondary DNS server of 8.8.4.4 sped up the connections to the network video services, but it still took approx 30-40 seconds. Going one step further and switching my primary DNS server from my local router to be 8.8.4.4 enabled almost instant connections to be established. I'm not sure exactly why this made a difference since using my local DNS worked fine for the S570 and all my other network items, but this odd workaround did indeed resolve the issue. Connecting to Amazon, Crackle and Hulu all take approx 5 seconds now, and starting videos from any of these sites no longer results in startup delays like before. I no longer have any reservations in highly recommending the BDP-S580.

Assuming this remains the same, I will keep the S580 since the only drawback of this over the S570 has been removed.

[Update 4/6/11]

On a hunch I tried to re-run the Avatar blu-ray disk now that the networking issue is resolved, and this time it came to the main menu in under 1:40 rather than the previous 2:50. I guess this is due to the BD Live content check which I think this disk does every time you start this one up, so I suspect that any other BD Live content disks might also be speeded up as a result. Excellent news.

[Update 4/10/11]

I definitely recommend getting the free "Media Remote" app if you have a suitable phone. Without this the keyboard entry mechanism using the included remote is too painful for any kind of substantial use, e.g. for entering search criteria in YouTube. Nice to be able to use a regular keypad format from the phone.

[Update 4/15/11]

1) After playing around some more with the online Music channels, I'm still very happy with them. Pandora is good and responsive, setting up new stations is easy (I do highly recommend the Media Remote for any text entry) and the results are good. The Slacker radio channel is also good and responsive, as is the 2010 Lollapalooza channel (which is actually Slacker-powered). The Berlin Philharmonic channel looks interesting with numerous recorded live concerts/pieces but you need an account to access them. NPR Radio channel was a little disappointing in that you can only access previously recorded segments rather than true online radio, but still useful. All in all, still nothing bad to say about any of the online audio channels.

2) With regards to the weak DLNA support, I am finding that with many of my files I am unable to do anything other than play, pause or stop them. If I try to FWD or RWD through them either it does nothing and says the "option is not supported" or it flies through so fast that after you press the FWD button, within a second it hits end of the file and drops me back to the menu system as if the movie finished. It doesn't even provide a timeline that you can scroll against like you can with online video content in e.g. Hulu Plus or Amazon. Very annoying. So at this point I'm reluctant to use any features other than just Play, Pause or Stop on my DLNA shared media and will just keep hoping that eventually Sony will release a firmware fix to improve DLNA support. Its interesting to note that some files - specifically some VOBs - behave better and allow useful FWD to at least get to some specific point, so again, the possibility and functionality is there but poorly implemented. Note that this problem does not seem to happen on USB attached files, only over DLNA network share.

[Update 5/10/11]

I have now spent a lot of time exploring the various free video channels. That is to say most of them with the exception of Vudu (for this I did browse the interface but didn't run any programs - it looked nice but seemed to be the most sluggish channel menu), Netflix and Sony's own Qriosity. Everything is working very well except for one podcast area I came across for Code Monkeys, which might have actually been an issue with the hosting server. Points of note include the uStudio channel which has some nice short HD "natural world/landcape" shows (quality was very good, but not as good as a true blu-ray), Golflink is interesting if you're into golf at all, Billabong had some great short videos that you'll probably only ever watch once or might use to show the S580 off to friends, and videocast.com which was probably my favorite of the lot. The "How" channels can be informative if you're looking for something (How.com, Howcast). Generally though we're settled into using the S580 for playing blu-rays and accessing Amazon VOD, Hulu Plus free movies, streaming from my DLNA device, and the occasional YouTube hit or Crackle episode. Still loving the device and highly recommend it.

[Update 5/13/11]

Based on a comment to this review (thanks Trevor) I see that the product description and Technical Details both indicate that the S580 can play online content "including movies, TV episodes, videos, music, and live sports from Netflix, YouTube, HuluPlus, Pandora and more". While this seems to be mostly true, there don't actually appear to be any LIVE SPORTS channels or content at this time. Either the description is incorrect or the channels are in development. You might perhaps be able to theoretically access some using the Internet Browser but I suspect the interface is so limited it wouldn't support the streaming format. Take note if this is something you're especially interested in, and I will update if/when I see any live sports channels appear, e.g. MLB.TV or something similar.

[Update 7/23/11]

Found my first disk with playback issues, and its a very bizarre one! Sherlock Holmes BD. There are 2 points in the movie (one at 1:30, and one at 1:45) where the playback/output actually seemed to overload my Onkyo receiver. I have never had this issue with any other DVD or BD, on any of 4 other DVD or BD players. Its as if there is an massive output surge over the HDMI output (there are sudden audio changes in both places along with a stylized 'judder' in the visuals) that literally put my Onkyo into standby mode BUT ONLY AT HIGH VOLUME PLAYBACK. If I turn the volume down, the same scenes don't even hiccup. I have tried 2 copies of the BD with the same problem at the same times. I'm not sure at this point if this is an issue with the Sherlock BD just on the s580 or in general, my HDMI cable (it has performed well in the past) or my Onkyo (again, never had this before), but thought it needed mentioning.

IMPORTANT REMINDER - If you ever set the BDP-S580 up and then return the item for any reason (Amazon or elsewhere) make sure you disassociate it from any linked accounts you setup. At the very least, you will need to go to the Sony Bravia site and remove the device from the account you setup when accessing the internet the first time, otherwise anyone else who purchases or uses the same unit in the future will have access to e.g. your Amazon Prime account and will be able to potentially order pay movies against your account. Same goes for Pandora, Hulu accounts etc. With Pandora we had to change our password since there didn't seem to be any way to easily unlink/undefine the settings, although maybe performing a "Reset BD" option from the Sony menu might have taken care of the stored password?

Swimming Goggles - swimming, fins

1. Packaging is # 1 product comes in plastic bag with draw string. Great for transport to and from pool if you desire !

2. Great fit for a slip on swim fin. The sizing chart is accurate so when ordering no need to worry that they run small or too big.

3. Great quality from previous swim fins. The rubber is soft and fits your foot like a glove. The size of the fins make them easy to carry around in your gym bag.

4. The product comes with inserts to help keep the shape but not sure really necessary to keep. I just think part of packing.

5. Price is reasonable !

6. Flippers move you through the water nicely but less then larger fins.

7. Great quality made in Italy and not very heavy.

Con's

Flippers to do not float to the surface however to make them sink you would have to push them down. Aqua Sphere Microfin Fitness Swim Fins (Silver/Black, Size 8-9, 42-43)

I belong to a Master swim club. All the other swimmers use fins and I finally broke down and bouth a pair. These fins are awesome they really help break up the longer workouts. They fit well and over the last month I've used them they are holding up well.

I bought 1 size lower from my normal sneakers and shoes sizes and it was a perfect fit. I am also able to walk almost normally with the fins at the pool. Unlike the ones the pool provided where I had to walk like a penguin.

Very good fins to help keep your legs in shape for finning while getting good swimming(arm)excercise. Easy to maneuver when lap swimming. I would not recommend use for snorkling, They do not give you the push like divers fins. Also, they are holding up to my repeated use over the last 6 months.

The Aqua Sphere Microfin Fitness swim fins do exactly what I wanted them to do. I needed additional resistance for swimming as I am recovering from back surgery. They greatly facilitate my swimming speed and fit my feet very well. I recommend these strongly! - Swimming Goggles - Swimming - Fins - Training Fins'

Classic Movie - george cukor, classic movie

I have neither a Blu-ray player nor an HD TV so there was no reason to get the Blu-ray of this release. On my standard def TV the image is not as sharp and crisp as other recent Warner restorations such as My Fair Lady and Wizard of Oz. But, I've learned through some research that this is because ASIB was filmed in single-strip Technicolor and it is impossible to sharpen the image. Actually the print does look a bit cleaner than the old VHS version of the reconstructed film. Just don't expect sharpness throughout. The musical numbers look the best.

Remember that almost 30 minutes of the film was cut after its theatrical release and it was through the efforts of Ron Haver who, in 1984, was able to find stills to fill in where soundtrack sections were located. That is what this version is and it really fleshes out the story. (And a great story it is!). And it is wide screen, not pan and scan.

What makes this version "deluxe" is the additional two hours of new supplemental material. These are all on the second disc which is NOT Blu-ray even in the Blu-ray set. Two hours are the same material as on the last release. The new material includes additional versions of some songs with different costumes and a lot of audio-only bonuses. The disc containing the feature film is double sided with half on each side.

You can see all the details of the bonuses in another "review" which copied the info from the press release.

As far as acting goes, James Mason is amazing and perfect for the part. Garland sings her heart out and this is, of course, a must for Judy fans... many of who can quote her lines from the film from memory.

Some day I'm sure Warner will issue the "Ultimate Edition" of ASIB but, sadly this is the best it is going to look on your TV. This is why film preservation is so important!

If you've not seen this film, or haven't seen it in years, watch it.. It will draw you in and show you why Garland and Mason were stars. This is a true Hollywood classic.

[...]

"(That was) the greatest robbery since Brinks" said Groucho Marx upon Judy Garland's losing the Oscar for "A Star Is Born" to Grace Kelly. Politics always exists; and this time it exerted a cruel influence. Judy Garland deserved the Oscar for Best Actress in this film.

Of course, everyone pretty much knows the plot by now; either they've heard of it before they got to this web page or they read reviews by other Amazon reviewers. Judy Garland plays Esther Blodgett, a band singer whose career soars into superstardom when she meets and falls in love with Hollywood mogul Norman Maine, played brilliantly by James Mason. There are some ups and downs along the way, however. (In case you don't know the whole plot, I won't spoil it for you here!)

The love affair between Esther and Norman is well played out: indeed, the acting of all the performers is entirely convincing and made me wish for more high quality films to be put out today!

The plot bravely tackles the problems of the Hollywood life: careers going up and down, lives sometimes completely destroyed in the process. The "performances within a performance" are especially outstanding: we see Esther showcase and spoof the 1950s type musical in the scene where she shows Norman the "big" musical number ("Somewhere There's) A Someone At Last" at the studio; and the "Born in a Trunk" sequence is one of the most artistic and spellbinding experiences anyone could ever hope to achieve in any motion picture.

Yet even with its plot, the film is primarily a vehicle to showcase Judy's talents. She doesn't fail to disappoint! My eyes were glued to her the entire time she was on screen; her acting, singing and dancing were beyond remarkable. She belts out classic Garland numbers such as "Swanee," "Born in a Trunk," and "The Man That Got Away." This last song is arguably one of the best Garland signature songs ever along with "Over the Rainbow" from a film a few of you may have heard of!

In addition, Garland fans may note that Judy's real life personality is perhaps best described as a blend of Norman's behavior and Esther's incredible talent and resiliency. Equally important, the plot is based at least in part on the marriage of Frank Fay and Barbara Stanwyck.

While I agree with the reviewer who writes that there's only so much improvement you can make with the image quality because of the type of film they used when shooting this movie, nevertheless, the enhancement of the image quality that I did notice impressed me. The sound was quite good, too. Sadly, this movie remains cut by roughly three minutes; it never should have been whittled down just for the sake of the almighty dollar. No wonder Judy and director George Cukor were so infuriated they vowed never to watch the film again!

The DVD comes with wonderful extras on a second DVD disc. There are so many bonus features that I hardly know where to start! There are 5 additional takes for "The Man That Got Away;" alternate takes for "Here's What I'm Here For;" "Trinidad Cocoanut Oil Shampoo;" "When My Sugar Walks Down the Street;" and more including a vintage featurette with Jack Warner; a wonderful vintage featurette of The Pantages Premiere TV Special and quite a few audio tracks from the "audio vault." There's still more for you to discover including the 1942 Lux Radio Theater broadcast of "A Star Is Born" with Judy as Esther Blodgett and Walter Pidgeon as Norman Maine; and that's grand.

My only minor disappointment was that the movie, which could have been presented on a single side of a DVD disc, is instead presented to us on two sides of one disc and it disturbs the flow somewhat to have to flip the disc even if there was an intermission at one point when they showed this film in theaters.

In short, if you love musicals, Judy Garland, James Mason, or just plain top notch quality film in general, you simply can't miss this edition of A Star is Born on DVD! It is truly one of the greatest movies of the twentieth century starring one of the greatest entertainers America has ever been blessed enough to have: Judy Garland! - Musical - James Mason - Classic Movie - George Cukor'

Diamond Points - jewelry making, rotary tool accessories

This set of 20 bits costs less than one high-quality diamond bit from other sources, and the bits did the job for which they were purchased.

Used them to drill two 1/8 inch diameter holes in non-tempered window glass. This must be done slowly to avoid overheating and possibly fracturing the glass. Used several different bits to change shapes in the hope of making it go faster. When done, the holes were fine and all of the bits still seemed to have their abrasive surfaces.

I've read elsewhere that a high-quality diamond bit will last for perhaps three holes like these, and that it takes about two minutes to make one hole. Well, it took about 30 minutes per hole, but more than half of that time was spent pausing to let the glass and bit cool off. Since all of the bits still have diamond grit on them, it seems likely that they'll be able to make several more holes before wearing out.

NOTE: Tempered glass probably will shatter if drilled. This window didn't have a "tempered" logo in the corner and looked normal when viewed through polarized sunglasses. Pro-Quality 20-Piece Diamond-Point Bit Set for Rotary Tool - Glass, Stone, Ceramic

These generic diamond point bits work great on my dremel rotary tool and the price for 20 of them is cheaper than buying 1 bit of the dremel brand. I use them for engraving on glass and they have been great.

One of these diamond tipped bits will run you between $8.00 - $10.00 at any retail or hardware store. This set has every bit for any project you could think of and the power to handle almost any material. It is definately worth the money. Works great on glass, metal, and stone.

I am very very satisfied.

The drill bits worked fine on soft materials such as seashells as long as I didn't put too much pressure on the bit. But on harder materials such as ceramic or stone, the diamond coating wore off very quickly, rendering the bit useless. And yes, I did use lubricant.

These bits were purchased primarily for drilling sea glass for jewelry making. Since this was my first attempt at such a project, I didn't want to spend a lot of money experimenting.

I'm still trying these out, but so far, so good. I like having the variety to play with. I am using these with a Dremel and they work great. I have no complaints. - Bob Tool - Jewelry Making - Rotary Tool Accessories - Dremel'

Panasonic - 1080p, panasonic plasma

If you are like me, you put a lot of research into a expensive purchase like a flat screen television, especially since it is something you plan to use for several years. I chose the Panasonic G25 after months of research trying to determine which was "better", LCD or Plasma, while also investigating which brands and models were the best performers.

What's in the box?

* The 50" TV

* Swivel stand

* Lighted remote, including batteries

* Detailed Instruction manual

* Quick Start Guide

I purchased this TV as our main television in our family room. I own two other flat screens, both LCD and both from Panasonic, 32" and 42".

Set up is a breeze. The box is designed to be easily opened by releasing four plastic clips built onto the box. This allows the top (most of the box) to be lifted of the TV, while the TV remains secure and stationary in the lower part of the box. The included swivel stand comes in two pieces and is easily assembled with a few included screws. If you use this stand, you simply have to lower the TV onto the stand. This can be done vertically without laying the screen down on its face, since the design of the TV mounting components are flush with the stand. Some TVs require you to place the TV in a horizontal position to mount it to their stand. You possibly could do this assembly alone, as the TV is not very heavy, but due to sheer size, it is extremely prudent to have someone help you.

Many professional reviews will advise you to beware of plasma "burn in" of images, or using plasma in a brightly lit room. I worried about these two things constantly during my research.

Panasonic's manual does advise you not to leave a 4:3 image, or any still image on the screen on the screen for very long periods as it can contribute to some burn in. But in general, even if you watch 4:3 mode all day long, the TV has a couple of features which helps protect its image, including orbiting pixel technology and a scrolling bar which can be run across the screen to help cleanse it. I have watched a good deal of 4:3 format on this TV and have not had any issues whatsoever. The orbiting technology slightly moves pixels about, undetectable to the human eye, which really minimizes the chance of any burn in.

As far as a bright room, don't worry! My family room is decent size, and has a cathedral ceiling with a skylight, plus a southern wall that is almost all window and a sliding door on the opposite wall. So the room has lots of light. I can watch the TV during the brightest time of day without any loss of quality or viewing ability. The anti-glare feature of the screen reduces the natural reflective characteristics of glass down to practically nil.

I tend to watch most programming on the TV's THX mode. This will give you a somewhat less bright display than the G25's "Standard" or "Vivid" mode or compared to most LCDs, but personally I am looking for the most accurate, pleasing display, not simply "the brightest". If you do prefer a very bright display, the TV's numerous picture settings can easily give you a bright display.

I am a huge Panasonic fan, and that did factor into my choice of TV. I find Panasonic typically gives you high quality at a reasonable price.

As for price, you will spend several hundreds of dollars more for an LCD of comparable size and quality. Some better quality LCDs in this size range will cost double what the G25 sells for.

Most of the features on the TV and remote are intuitive and the menu offers general explanations of the purpose of each setting. The remote itself is well laid out and easy to navigate, although this was not very important to me since I am using my FIOS remote for most typical functions.

There are three HDMI ports on the TV, as well as RCA and component connections and coax input. There is also a PC port as well as two USB ports. The lone port type absent is S-Video. While S-Video is passé, if you have a DVD player that's a few years old, you might be using S-Video to connect to your TV, so be prepared to upgrade or switch cable types if need be.

The TV can also be networked either by Ethernet cable or wireless adapter. You must use Panasonic's adapter if you choose the wireless route, which is one of the few cons on this product. Compatibility with common wifi adapters would have been nice, since the Panasonic wifi adapter is over-priced. Although Panasonic confirmed you must use their adapter, I tried a couple of others any way, but the TV did not detect them. If you network the Tv you can make use of numerous features like direct connection to several services (some of which require a subscription or fee). Examples are Amazon Video on Demand (cost associated), YouTube (free), Pandora (free), Twitter (free, and a few others.

A couple of typical complaints about Panasonic TVs are the sound quality, and starting with the G series from 2009, the black levels displayed on the screen becoming lighter after several hundred hours of use. The sound is decent on the TV, and many people will probably cutover to their home theater for audio when playing DVDs or music-related TV programming anyway. I don't believe the concerns over the black levels are a huge issue. That is just my opinion; I am neither an expert nor any type of engineer. At the end of the day, everything I have read seems to indicate that the resulting black levels from Panasonic's firmware still leaves the display at a better black level than the competing Samsung products, so .........

Aside from being limited to Panasonic's wifi adapter, about the worst thing I can say about the G25 is that for the price, Panasonic could include some sort of cleaning cloth for the screen, which is typical even on their own lower end LCDs.

Overall, this television has astounding picture quality and realistic reproduction which is superior to any LCD or LED TV I've seen. For the price, you cannot go wrong or find a better flat screen HD TV.

NOTE:

If you are a making your first flat screen, HD television purchase, please remember that no matter what brand or type you buy, standard display will not be as sharp as high definition programming, and the larger the screen the more noticeable that is. Replacement Filters

This is the best price I've found for this particular filter replacement (I think free shipping option does help a lot to save money!).

It actually WORKS. I have two indoor cats and it's a huge difference when I actually run the filter and when I don't. I'm not really allergic to cats or anything, but when they shed, their fur gets everywhere, and who wouldn't sneeze if cat/dog fur gets into your nose and tickle or gets in your eyes? (A lot of people think they're ALLERGIC to some pets when they actually aren't, they're just reacting to extra particles in the air, animal fur in the air's like having a string of dust in the air, which would bother ANYONE who wants to breathe in that air).

Anyway, it also works well against filtering dust mites. I do my best to keep the house clean and linens not touching the floor or anything ever (nothing that has been on the couch where my cats have been can enter my bedroom and nothing that touches the floor gets put back on couch or bed - they get washed in hot water immediately), I steam clean the carpet often enough and bathe my cats in water before letting them loose on a clean carpet. But you simply cannot get rid of ALL dust mites when you have pets running around and own a couch or two even if you use your furniture-cleaning option on couches or upholstery. I am indeed allergic to dustmites actually, not just sensitive to them...

But if you have this filter on for more than 24 hours, it's SO MUCH easier to breathe and also my nose doesn't constantly run and my eyes don't turn red all the time like when I don't run the filter.

Just be careful and not ruin your filter without even using it much: read instructions and take care of it so you don't let this filter just sit there and go bad on you.

This filter works well in a medium sized room I have, I think it works decently in a bigger size livingroom too, although it takes a lot longer and I have to have it on the highest power.

If you don't run the filter frequently and just let it sit there, though, it can go bad easily, and dust mites it traps can actually fester inside the filter with non-moving air. So read instruction before you complain how your "newly replaced and only used once" filter made the air in your room worse. 'cause carbon can expire if you just let it sit there as well, and whatever it traps can fester inside if you don't use it for awhile. Honeywell 16216 HEPA-Type Replacement Filter for 16200 Desktop Air Purifier

Note: The replacements have a carbon/charcoal filter attached to the front. The one that came with my HEPA filter didn't have a charcoal filter but was advertised/described as being a permanent filter which could be refreshed/cleaned by using a vacuum cleaner to suck up the collected dirt/dust. Not sure if possible to vacuum clean if the charcoal filter is in front of the HEPA filter folds.

These are after-market filters that do not work properly when compared with Honeywell filters. Filter paper is too dense to allow proper air flow through the air purifier. Recommend going to kaz.com for proper replacement filters***

I have been very pleased with this air filter! Not only does it cost less than most air filters out there, but it also does an excellent job at removing unpleasant odors from the air. I can turn on my Honeywell machine and in 20 minutes, this filter has the air is smelling fresh and clean. Highly recommended!'

Baby Bath - bath set, johnsons

I got this as part of my baby shower registry. I love it because it has a small size of everything that one needs for newborn, it also helped me decide on what products i really liked so later on i went ahead and got bigger bottles of lotions etc.

The plastic caddy is pretty cute and makes great storage for baby stuff in the baby room. Johnson's Bathtime Essentials Gift Set

I bought this as a gift for a friend who was 2 months away from delivering. I checked in a department store after I priced it on amazon. To my surprise they had it but of course it was a little more pricey. Great gift and the basket can be used after all the products are used.

I was given this gift set at a baby shower for the birth of my second baby. I loved it! It was so useful and everything came in handy. Now my baby is 16 months old and I have started replacing the items that are running low. She uses the gift basket to keep a few small toys and books in to play with as I change her diaper and likes to carry it around by the handle. I'm so pleased with this set that I am buying another set for the birth of my third baby due this autumn.

I purchased this along with a couple of other items as shower gifts for someone and shed loved it. It is most of the essential bath items needed to wash and keep the baby clean. Comes in the cute little gift bundle and is easy to keep up with since everything fits in the basket. She said it is just as cute in person as it is in the pictures.

;)

when buying liquids or lotions online, i always worry the sizes arent big enough to actually try for a couple weeks without running out. this gift basket is great, me being a new mom myself i bought this to try, sizes are great, and gives u a perspective on wbhat you want to use later.

I just received this product. It did not come with the duck in Amazon's photo or any other photo I've found for this product on other sites. I contacted Johnson & Johnson today. They advised me that the product first came with a yellow duck, then it was changed to a blue hippo. The hippo was removed as of Dec 2009. Just know the product Amazon is selling comes without the toy. The rest of the product is as pictured minus the cute yellow bow. - Bathing - Baby Bath - Bath Set - Johnsons'

Cooling

right out of the box..... you can tell it's quality. It's heavy, tight and the lid snugs down well. I also bought the cooler top cushion to use as a console seat on my Carolina Skiff, even with the straps running under the cooler lid, it NEVER affected it's ability to keep my stuff cold. Worth every penny, and cheaper than you will find it in the store. Coleman 70-Quart Xtreme Marine Cooler

This is just what you should expect from Coleman. The product is sturdy. The lid fits tightly with the body. The handles are heavy-duty. Two 20 LB bags of ice last the entire weekend with 90 degree heat before melting to water on day three.

Recently purchased this cooler and have no regrets. We had 2 coolers for a 3 day camping weekend. At the end of the weekend, the other cooler (54 qt standard coleman cooler) was almost fully melted, while this cooler was mostly ice with barely any water to drain. Would definitely recommend!

These coolers may keep ice for 5 days at 90 degrees (I have not tried this particular test, yet), but their construction is shoddy. I bought this cooler (Coleman Extreme Marine 70qt) for $49 at the same time that I also purchased a Coleman Extreme 70qt for $39. As near as I can tell, the ONLY different between these two coolers is that the Marine version is completely white where the regular Xtreme is blue with white lid. EVERYTHING else is completely identical. (Trust me, I looked over these two coolers for 20 minutes trying to spot the difference. There is none. So the first irritating thing is that for $10 more, you get nothing. Fortunately for me, the construction is so shoddy, I am forced to return this cooler.Examples of shoddy construction:-the bottom part of cooler is constructed of two pieces of plastic (inside part and external part) with foam in between. The seam where the two pieces of plastic comes together is not sealed properly. In some cases this gap is about 3/64". This compromises the integrity of the cooler. (This was way more prominent on the Marine version of the cooler. But, I have a feeling it is just inconsistent manufacturing and some Coleman coolers will be more screwed up than others, regardless of model. Wish I could find a store that carried them, as I could pick and choose and find the least crappy one, instead of ordering online and playing the lottery.)-hinges are cheap and thin plastic that I suspect will break in less than a season-handles are cheap plastic held together by cheap plastic pins (doubt they last more than one trip)-drain plug is cheap plastic cover type and not screw type-no basket to keep dry things dry-inside of lid looks like it has channel for rubber seal, however, A) there is no seal and B) more infuriating is the fact that in 8 little places and one larger place near handle, this channel is missing, so you cannot even put in a seal yourself to completely seal cooler.-no latch on frontMy recommendation is that you DO NOT PURCHASE THIS COOLER. If you must purchase a Coleman cooler, save $10 and buy the regular Xtreme version. Then, make the following mods:1 pull out pins on plastic handles and replace handles with rope

2 replace hinges with stainless steel

3 seal seam between two plastic parts of bottom section of cooler

4 buy appropriately-sized cheap freezer basket and rig inside cooler to keep dry things dryTo go crazy with your mods you can add the following:5 add foam seal to channel in lid where you can

6 add a couple draw latches to front

7 add some non-skid rubber feet

8 replace drain plug with screw typeThen you might have a decent cooler. Or you could bite the bullet and get a Yeti or Engel which are built like tanks.

This cooler is no better than the basic coolers you can find in most stores that cost half as much. I purchased this cooler thinking the extra cost would provide the benefits that were advertised. I put 16lbs of ice in a cooler filled with drinks and had to replace the ice every other day. My cooler was outside in the shade with daily high/lows of 85/60 degrees. The handles appear to be too flimsy for a cooler of this size and flexed too much. I purchased two other Coleman products with this cooler (another small extreme cooler and a chair). The other two items were complete junk and I returned them the day I received them. I also had a disappointing experience with a Coleman grill. I do not recommend any Coleman product.'
