Multi Port Hub - multi port hub, usb ports

This product looks very cool. It has a lot of LED lights which to me is very colorful and looks cool. And it is not very bright which is a plus because sometimes bright LED lights on any electronics can get very annoying. Also, the cord is short which means this is more preferable for laptop use because as a user I don't want long cords attached to my laptop. It makes it very accessible and hassle free. There are only 4 USB slots on it which is all right to me. I have an external hard drive attached to it, a bluetooth USB, a PS3 controller, and my phone all attached to it. This is, by the way, attached to my laptop. So, yea it works perfectly fine and the build is great too. It looks well made and the picture doesn't do justice because it really looks professionally well made. Slick black color and not very bright LED lights (which is again a plus).

I really recommend this product to anyone. Thank you for reading this. Connectland CL-U2MNHUB-4B 4 Ports USB V2.0 Mini Hub (Black)

I have a Popcorn Hour A110 and it has one USB port in the back. The PCH supports an internal HD and whatever you connect to the USB port. So in order to expand the number of HDs I can connect to the PCH I needed a hub! This one is inexpensive, self-powered, and works like a champ. I have daisy-chained two of these together. True I lose one port since it's used to connect the second hub but now I can connect 7 drives to my PCH. I currently have 4 x 1TB drives hooked up to my PCH and expect to get more in the near future. If I fill up all the ports you can be sure I'll buy another hub to daisy-chain to the current hubs. Great product and I will buy again.

Given the other reviews I'm willing to believe I simply got a hub from a bad batch, but this hub is unusable for me. The USB connector is poorly soldered to the cable ("new" the insulation was already pulling away from the usb connector), and the connections on the hub side are *very* loose. Several times I've had cables simply fall out, which I don't have to tell you is somewhat of an issue. Moving this hub while devices are connected is simply out of the question. A little bit of duct tape fixes all when I use the hub on one of my desktop computers, but that's a bit absurd on the road. I've since replaced this hub with the Belkin Ultra Mini Hub F5U407 which is of substantially higher build quality; I've had no issues with the cable or hub connections. I will say I do like the design of this hub; it's small and has all the ports in a line, which I prefer. But, given the inconsistency in making a solid connection this hub is simply destined for the unused electronics box.

Can you ever have enough USB ports? Of course not. So, looking for something cost effective and worthwhile, I decided to give this a try. It works great! And for less than $10, you can't complain a bit. I don't know why they give you the option to turn off each individual port when you can just unplug it, but no big deal for me. Also, I could not notice a significant drop in data transfer when I plug in my external HDDs to it. Construction does seem a tad cheap, so I'd imagine if you were unplugging and plugging in different cables all day, ever day, it'd probably work some wires loose internally eventually. It serves me great for my use, as most of my USB stuff is a 1 time plug in and I'll never touch them again. But seriously, this thing is dirt cheap, you can't ask for much more!

Cheap. Small. Simple. Works.

The ports are quite snug for the male usb's, so don't try to push the usb in too hard.

Keep in mind, that the power does get split in half/thirds/etc when you insert 2, 3, or more; however I use a bluetooth/wireless keyboard and mouse and put the usb receiver on the Hub with additional things like a usb-powered laptop fan, and an ipod charger, and the receiver has never dropped wireless connection (which to me is the most important). I haven't tested using big, power-hungry usb electronics on the hub, and rightly, I don't plan to. I don't think that'll turn out well.

The hub has one red light to show that it's powered and 4 other blue lights that light up for each port that's in use (I didn't know about this when I got it and was delighted to be able to go "Ooo pretty lights!"). It even has a handy on/off switch for each port so you don't even have to unplug electronics from the hub if you don't want that particular item to hog up the computer's usb power.

I ordered this after several unsuccessful inexpensive 4-port hub purchases. Most of the others did not function. I thought I'd give this a try. I liked the slightly long cable that enables it to be positioned away from the usb port but not so long that I'd need to use some sort of harness to keep it short. Well, this is perfect! A possible bonus is that each port can be turned on/off. Very pleased with this product and the price was reasonable. - Usb Hub - Multi Port Hub - Usb Ports - Portable'

Casual Wear - casual wear, fashion sneakers

Excellent shoes. You will be the happiest person to have them. I bought them for my brother's birthday fearing he will like them, how comfortable are they going to be (since by brother is a perfectionist), but this was the best gift ever. Polo Ralph Lauren Men's Harold Leather Sneaker,White/Navy,10.5 D

These shoes are very good. They are comfortable and true to size. The leather feels good and the construction is very strurdy. The tough has the word "polo" on it, not a horse.

Cons; the "polo" sticker on the heel is very delicate. It is basically glued to the heel with week glue. this is not a big enough problem to keep me from enjoying these shoes. I plan on buying another pair in black.

I bought these trainers because they were quite hard to find in the UK. Ordered from AMAZON.COM and it was shipped to my address in 6 days with expedited shipping. The product is great fits fine and would recommend to all. The quality of the product is fine ,if you have wide feet you should get a size bigger which i did and its fits perfect overall fantastic design by Ralph Lauren. Please dont hesitate before buying this product i had problems before ordering but i purchased i was the happiest man on earth. - Leather - Fashion Sneakers - Casual Wear - Stylish'

Star Wars Trilogy - science fiction, dvd

I am baffled by some of these reviewers who are climbing a soapbox about the industry and Lucas. For those of us who are patient, a box set with cost saving and a SPECIAL BONUS!! Slim cases so shelf space is minimized!

EXCELLENT!!

About a rush to market, snatching up media related to STAR WARS as soon as it hits the shelf. If you don't like the movies themselves or the packaging or the recording quality that is one thing. Whining about your own gullibility is quite another. Let me clue you in. If Lucas makes or includes special features, enhancements and the like ... he will not fail to promote that. Investigate the product before you buy. And to those of you who didn't even buy any products but are just looking for places to gripe, this is not the appropriate place.

This is the excellent product that I anticipated to the point of not buying any of the movies when they first released to video. It is as much as it promises to be. (I expect the same to be true of the other volume containing ep. 4-6.) If you like space saving box set bundles without a lot of extra bells and whistles, this is for you.

These sci-fi movie fantasy adventures, though a bit juvenile in their scripts and exhibitions, have become family classic adventure movies that inspire the imagination and adequately entertain a growing audience. A series of perennial favorites well on there way to becoming "timeless" classics. Star Wars Prequel Trilogy

For all the flaws that the Prequels may have, they're still highly enjoyable films, with just as many memorable scenes and quotes as the Original Trilogy. I think it's great that they're keeping the movies out there for any new generation to purchase (not that DVDs are that hard to come by of course), and really it's nice to have a convenient box set. So it's a good deal, if, you don't have the movies already. Otherwise, it's just another stepping stone in the journey towards the much wanted "Ultimate" box set with all six films. We can only hope!

I really just want to take a few paragraphs to let you know what this product is.

Basically, each of these movies got a 2-disc release when they were released on DVD. This box set has taken those 2-disc sets, and packaged them into a smaller case so in order to minimize shelf space. The "Original Trilogy" (Episodes 4-6) slimset is a debatable purchase, because it doesn't include the bonus disc that came with an earlier deluxe set. But this "Prequel Trilogy" is a better deal if you're planning to buy these movies.

As for the extras:

* I love "The Phantom Menace" content, especially the 90-minute making-of documentary that shows everything from cast readings to sandstorm carnage to special effects meetings to George Lucas quietly beginning his "Episode II" writing. And say what you will about the quality of the movie, but Fox and LucasFilm did an excellent job of advertising this movie. Even its promotional extras are worth watching.

* "Attack of the Clones" is another solid batch of extras. They mostly focus on the special effects, but there are some good interviews and behind-the-scenes stuff with the cast. Another all-around strong package.

* I'm slightly disappointed with the "Revenge of the Sith" extras. The main documentary is producer Rick McCallum going through the different departments of the cast & crew. He even talks about the caterers! Now, this is a fascinating way to explore the making of a movie, but the problem is most of the content (especially the special effects clips) focuses on the Mustafar sequences. I would've loved to see more on the opening space battle, not to mention Kyshhykk (sp?) or General Grievious. The bonus disc is good enough, but a huge stepdown from the other two prequels' material.

So, if you want to buy the "Prequel Trilogy", this is the way to go. Sure, you can probably find some cheaper copies of the original releases, but why bother?

Oh by the way, "YES! I LIKE THE PREQUEL TRILOGY. I PREFER EPISODES 4-6, BUT 1-3 WERE QUITE ENTERTAINING FOR ME.

I have heard some adults are not crazy about this series. I enjoy it with the kids. My kids 5 and 6 years old love it. They like seeing the progression of Anakin and watch it over and over. They especially love the young Anakin racing. I am no expert on Star Wars, but this series is a big hit in our house.

A lot of people complain about the prequel trilogy, but quite honestly I can't see where they're coming from. The actors chosen nailed their roles perfectly (especially Liam Neeson, who automatically makes anything awesome), camera work and action shots are superbly done and the special effects are exactly what one would expect from Industrial Light & Magic.

Story-wise, we get to see the fall of the Old Republic and the rise of the Galactic Empire due to the machinations of an evil Sith Lord. Equally as important, we see the Clone Wars and the destruction of the Jedi Order, including the fall Anakin Skywalker and his transformation into Darth Vader.

In short, this is the perfect way to see the backstory behind the original trilogy (which I recommend buying along with this set; you get both trilogies, each movie with a bonus disc packed with features, in thinpack box sets for the price of a single trilogy on retail shelves). In my honest opinion, there is no greater science fiction saga ever told than Star Wars, and now the entire story can be viewed, if you so choose to, within a single sitting. Get the box sets, grab some popcorn and enjoy a trip into a galaxy far, far away.

The THX reproduce sound for this movie is excellent. It's a must have movie for your collection if you are into Home Theater just because it has THX. Note, it will sound better if the receiver is a THX Ultra 2 certified.

Finally they released a box set for the Prequel Trilogy! I had not purchased the Episodes I, II and III because I felt that if they released a box set for IV, V and VI, they had to do it with the first ones as well.

Well, the wait was worth it, finally they released a box set for the new movies. Good quality of the video and the boxes are awesome.

Xoom Keyboard

I got this keyboard the day after I got my Xoom. I wasn't sure how useful it would be, but I do a lot of email so I decided to give it a try. Right after I got the bluetooth configured, I realized it was certainly worth the money. The keyboard has special Android specific keys such as all of the "hard keys" (back, home, menu, and search) that are on an Android phone as well as others that make it so you can use the keyboard to do a lot of your navigating, not just typing. The keyboard is well made and the keys are sturdy. If you are going to use your Xoom for work, this is an accessory you will want. Motorola Wireless Keyboard for Motorola ATRIX and XOOM (Motorola Retail Packaging)

Its a great keyboard haven't used it on the xoom yet but i have used it on driod x from Motorola it works great for typing but the keyboard shortcuts don't work with the droid x i will write another review for this product when i get the xoom.

I pre-ordered a Xoom and picked it up on launch day, and since the store I got it from didn't have a keyboard, I headed to the nearest Verizon Wireless store and luckily they did have one. In my opinion, anyone that does a lot of typing really needs one of these. It's small enough to take with you most everywhere, connects very easily, and has numerous shortcut keys that work with the Xoom operating system for items like opening email, browser, adjusting volume, etc...

I bought a Incase Nylon Sleeve for 13" MacBook and it works great for my Xoom. Incase Nylon Sleeve for 13" MacBook It holds my Xoom in the large pocket and has enough room to spare for some file folders and files. the back velcro pocket holds the keyboard perfectly, and the front pockets work great for holding some screen cleaner and micro fiber cloths in one pocket and misc. cables in the other. This makes carrying my xoom and keyboard around very easy, and is a major compliment to my xoom.

Overall it is a bit on the pricey side, but if you need to type, it's so much faster and more comfortable on a keyboard than on the screen. I use the Xoom portfolio case Motorola Protective Portfolio Case for MOTOROLA XOOM (Motorola Retail Packaging)and it holds the xoom at a perfect angle, and the battery bump on the back of the keyboard fits over the flap of the case to create a little netbook look, very convenient!

I also was curious and paired this with my Droid X and it worked great as well!

I bought this keyboard for my Xoom. I purchased it a week prior to see if it would work on my ideapad s10-3t, ipod touch, and HTC-Incredible. And it worked great, here and there the signal gets lost and needs a minute to reconnect if you stop typing for more than 30 seconds but that is just a small annoyance. Otherwise it works great responsive light nice layout. Now you may be wondering if the shortcut keys work on windows and it does. The back arrow is escape the android menu button is the windows menu button and a few android keys don't work on windows but most do just a small learning curve. As for the ipod touch a few worked but it was meant for android. My final thoughts this is a great but pricey keyboard if you have the galaxy tab, xoom, or android smart phone this is a worthy purchase and the fact it is compatible with windows and apple products just boost its value. The only reason I gave it a 4 was that 30 second disconnect issue.

I don't usually like the chicklet type of keys on my keyboards, but I have to make an exception for this one. The keys are very well placed and are easy to use for touch typing. I love how this keyboard has all of the functionality keys that go into making this the perfect keyboard for the Xoom tablet. It's very thin and although I suppose you could take this with you, I prefer leaving it at my desk for when I'm home and have the Xoom docked into the HD Audio dock I also use.

Well. It is frustrating because I want this keyboard to work, and it does not.

The problem is the keys "stick" (as previously noted in another review. I have tried using compressed air thinking that there might be dust or something under the keys, but this did not help. It was a long shot anyway since it has had this problem since the first time I used the keyboard.

I gave it a three because the concept is great and when it works, it's great. But... that rarely happens.

So, I've had this keyboard for my Xoom for about a month now. And it's really not working out well. Why?

The keys stick. Or at least, the keypress registers as being stuck, and then, you have to disconnect it from Xoom and reconnect. I just wrote a 2 page document and this happend 4 times. It happens every single time I use it. Be it the ., or a space bar press, or just a letter, it registers as being stuck down when in fact it is not.

I actually like the feel of the board itself and I can type very fast on it. But it's failing and failing fast. Not happy about that. I even invested in a nice cover for it through sfbags.com because I wanted to protect it. Now, I'll be looking for another alternative.

Disgusted by the whole experience.'

Water Filter Pitcher - water filter, bpa-free

We replaced the Brita pitcher that we have used for several years with this one. One thing that bothers me about the Brita filters is how the carbon particles keep escaping into the top compartment of the pitcher. It doesn't hurt anything, but it looks bad to me. Mavea's filters haven't had that problem so far. However, their claim that you don't have to soak the filter is not quite true: you have to run two pitchers of water through a new filter to activate it. This is even more trouble than soaking.

The self-opening and closing lid works well. You never have to remove the lid or flip it up. The only catch is that you have to stop pouring water in when it first starts to close. If you keep filling until it closes completely, water leaks out the top of the lid down the handle and interior sides of the pitcher.

We wanted a larger capacity pitcher than the 40 ounce Brita slim pitcher we were replacing. The 3.5 liter Elemaris XL size fits the bill. Be forewarned that the fully filled pitcher is quite heavy at 9 pounds. The contoured, rubberized grip makes it easier to deal with. Mavea 1001125 Elemaris XL Water Filtration Pitcher, Black

Like the other commenters I think this filter is great. It feels sturdy, the plastic is hard, but the handle gives it a good grip. It was pretty easy to put together and take apart - so cleaning is a sinch. I also love the fact that you don't need to open anything to fill it, just start pouring in the water. Our other brita pitcher's split cap approach was so dumb compared to this. I am relieved to have received the product as advertised and all seems to be functioning without a problem.

P.S> wife said that the water tastes way better than our previous Brita and that there are no more black carbon pieces floating around everywhere.

I bought it because it is BPA free. Replaced an old, cracking Brita pitcher. It looks great, is easy to use, water tastes great (no taste at all). The pitcher is dishwasher safe which adds convenience to an already useful item. Very happy with the purchase, recommending to other family members.

Pros: BPA free, self-closing water intake, filter-replacement indicator, rubber feet preventing slips, nice modern styling

Cons: non really, except not sure how the filter sensor gets its measurements

Finally fed up w/ purchasing water gallons in my weekly food shopping, reviewed & researched different faucet filters, reading the good & extremely bad experiences of customers. I decided go w/ a filter pitcher & love the Mavea Elemaris XL. It is a bit heavy, but its modern design is attractive enough, that it flatters family casual meals. The top is unique in that you can't over fill it because it automatically bobs close when the filter has reached its limit...very cute. Best part only the most minor assembly, 2 min if that. Definitely recommend for purchase.

UPDATE Sept.19, 2010: The water meter stopped functioning on my pitcher several wks ago and I finally got around to review the material included w/ the purchase; specifically the product number I had registered on the Mavea website back in March. I sent an e-mail to Mavea including pertinent information on a Sunday night and received a response to my inquiry Monday. A new filter was fedexed to me and they graciously included a filter, all which arrived Thursday of the same week. Mavea can definitely teach a number of companies about customer service & appropriate timely responses. I'll continue recommending this pitcher to friends & family and anyone else who wants to drink cleaner water and conservation conscience. It doesn't get any better than this.

I could go into detail but I think the other reviews have done that, this Mavea Pitcher Filtration device is absolutely awesome.

I followed the steps to activate the filter, then put a glass of tap water next to a glass of filtered Mavea water, my family was incredibly impressed, the tap water had a very slight (almost unnoticable discoloration) with particles floating around, the Mavea water was incredibly clean both visually and to the taste.

Filters are not that expensive when bought on Amazon, the manufacturer recommends changing every two months (due to built up crap it removed from all the tap water) but still at just $6 or so a pop that sure beats buying inferior cases of so called distilled water from Wally World or Costco or other filter refills from so called competitors.

IMHO, the Mavea is a superior product compared to the pur water or brita pitchers, my family knows, we have tried them all. Unless something even better than this one comes along we are sold for life on this product.

Edited to add: After using this product we do still think highly of it but the filter sensor to tell you how much filter value your filter has remaining does not work so you have to merely write on a calendar when to change it. Our family uses each filter for 6 weeks then change it.

Having had a Brita filter system for years--replaced that with the Pur system, and finally replaced the Pur with the Mavea pitcher I have to say that this filtered water tastes great.

I live in an area with very very hard water, bad enough that if you make ice cubes with unfiltered water you'll have residue floating in a glass after the ice melts so having a pitcher that removes the limescale was one of the main motivators for my purchase. I believe that I can taste the difference in my coffee after switching to the filtered water from this pitcher, and if I am able to spend less time descaling my machine (it should last longer now) that will be just fine with me.

The pitcher is very easy to pour from, and even easier to fill as there is 'door' on the top of the pitcher that you refill from, it's self closing, and very intuitive. The usage meter on the lid is easy to read and understand. - Water Filter - Water Pitcher - Water Filtration - Bpa-free'

Digital Camera Case - case, waterproof camera case

I purchased this waterproof case for my Canon Powershot SD1200IS and it works like a dream.

After a wonderful nine-year ride with my Canon Powershot SD110 - in which the poor camera was inadvertently dropped many times and exposed to a multitude of elements - it finally met its match after being dropped into sand. When the lens retracted due to the auto shut-off feature, sand was pulled into the camera and the lens motor burned itself out after repeated attempts to turn it on. After extensive research, I chose to replace my SD110 with the new SD1200IS. Consequently, I vowed to never expose the new camera to sand. Ever.

After looking into Canon's proprietary waterproof solution, I was quickly turned off by its ridiculous price tag - it was more expensive than the camera itself! I was pleasantly surprised to find the Dicapac solution, yet understandably apprehensive due to it's low price. Nevertheless, I decided to buy one and test it. After passing a series of tissue and paper submersion tests, I finally took the leap and placed my new SD1200IS into it and took it to the beach. The case worked like a charm in not only the sand, but also in the salt water. Photo quality was remarkable - you can't tell the difference between in-case and out-of-case shots at all. The only minor gripe I had was that the default case lens configuration was maybe 1 to 2 millimeters too short for the SD1200IS's fully extended lens barrel. Fortunately the Dicapac case came with a barrel extender which I've installed for a quick fix.

This is a wonderful product that works as advertised. Highly recommended. Waterproof Underwater Case for Canon PowerShot SD970 IS SD960 IS SD780 IS SD9...

I purchased this underwater case for my brand new Canon PowerShot SD780is. I was skeptical at first because it has just a Ziploc bag type plastic zipper and a couple of Velcro closures you secure after rolling the opening a few times. I did the required test once I received it and put a piece of paper inside, closed it up and submerged it. The paper stayed dry...but still, was I willing to trust it to my $200+ camera?

Well there was no need for me to worry. I took it to the British Virgin Islands on my sailing trip and it worked GREAT! I got great shots of the fish when we stopped to snorkel, as well as fun shots of my family as we just floated in the ocean on our noodles at the end of the day, drinks in hand.

My only recommendation to others who will be using this while on an ocean or beach vacation is to always, always, ALWAYS, keep your camera inside the case. It works great, only if you are actually using it. I took my camera out of the case because we were going to be heading to shore for a party, and proceeded to drop my camera in the one and only puddle on the top deck of the sailboat. Luckily because the case is not extremely camera specific, my sister in-law's Nikon point and shoot fit right into it. We kept her camera in there for the rest of the trip and it worked great, at sea and on land. I did get occasional spots on some pictures when on land, but that was because I forgot to clean off the dried salt water spots that formed on the acrylic lenses cover before using it on land. So again, my fault, not the cases.

I have a Canon SD1200 which is supposed to work with this product. Unfortunately there is no way to secure the camera inside the bag, so it's impossible to keep the camera lens centered on the lens area of the bag. The camera just slips around inside the bag like it would in a baggie. If the camera lens is not centered behind the lens portion of the bag, the bag blocks the camera lens from coming out. Not good for the camera! Perhaps if I had a bigger camera it would work okay. It's also difficult to reach the camera's power switch through the plastic.

The bag opening is designed like a diver's dry bag so will certainly be waterproof. The lens section screws on and off, so I'm not so sure about that.

Four stars for water resistance, no stars for usability.

I bought this underwater case for my trip to Cancun, Mexico and it was well worth the money! We used this for almost every outdoor activity: pictures in the pool, at the beach, zip-lining through waterfalls, snorkeling, in the caves, and all outdoor activities where possible damage to the camera may occur. This underwater case protected our brand new camera (Canon SD780) from water, dirt, and sand. I was out snorkeling for over an hour where the camera was submerged in the ocean the entire time and it worked flawless. We took many great pictures thanks that we would not be able to take without this case.

We saw some people with disposable underwater cameras but they were only limited to 20-40 pictures and it cost about or more than this case. With this case, we had the luxury of taking as many pictures as we wanted and was able to have the digital file to load onto the computer.

The only cons are that because the case is universal, it did not fit snug with our camera; therefore it was loose and the camera could slide around a bit. Another con is that the lens extender piece in the middle blocked part of the flash so the camera couldnt utilize the full flash when taking pictures at very dark places. Other than those two, the underwater case does what it was made to do which was to protect the camera from water! For the price, it is well worth it! - Waterproof Camera Case - Case - Waterproof Case - Camera Bag'

Tablets - blueproton, tablets

For anyone out there who is considering whether or not to make the leap and purchase the iPad 2, this review is for you. If you're still debating between the iPad 1 and the iPad 2 check out my review of the first generation iPad right here on Amazon to see a discussion of its strengths and weaknesses with a number of people commenting (both positively and negatively) over the past 11 months.

Let me begin by saying this upfront, I don't work for Apple, I don't own Apple Stock, and whether you buy an iPad, Xoom, a laptop or a pad of paper and pencil I don't get anything for writing this. I'm not an Apple "fanboy" although I can give credit where credit is due and lately Apple has deserved a lot of credit for some of their products.

Physical Characteristics

The iPad 2 is absurdly thin. More importantly than it's thinness is its tapered edge which feels more natural in your hand. One of the biggest complaints about the original iPad was it really wasn't tremendously comfortable to hold for long periods at a time. For a tablet device designed to be held, that's a pretty big deal. Apple really has done an amazing job of cramming everything into an even smaller space than before and the difference is really noticeable when you're holding the device. In addition to the tapered edge, Apple managed to reduce the overall weight of the iPad 2. That might not seem like a huge deal to most, especially when you consider the weight difference isn't tremendous when you're already under 2 pounds, but I spend a good part of my day holding the iPad in my hands and the weight difference is surprising by the end of the day. The first generation isn't heavy by any means, but the iPad 2 outshines it.

New and "Improved"

Apple doubled the RAM in the iPad 2 from 256MB to 512MB. What does that mean? For most casual users, probably not a whole lot. There is a performance bump that everyone will see the effects of in things like loading times for webpages that are open in the background, but 256MB was sufficient for most daily use and games. If you're planning to use your device for some of the more graphically intense games the iPad 2 does offer a better method of graphics processing that'll help deliver faster images with fewer jerky movements. If you're just playing Angry birds and reading e-mail you're not going to know the difference.

The screen is the same for all real purposes. It is technically a "new" part in that it isn't identical to the old, it's a bit thinner and more efficient, but it's the same resolution. The Glass is thinner though, and this amounts to a fair bit of the weight loss from one generation to the next. In playing with the device it seems surprising but despite feeling lighter it actually feels more sturdy in your hands. I still wouldn't suggest dropping it, but if it were to fall the iPad 2 certainly feels like it might stand a better chance to survive. Try not to drop it though.

The addition of 2 cameras was expected. Some were a bit surprised to see the first generation released without the cameras. Whether it was for a price point consideration, or a means to get people to upgrade, Apple held off until iPad 2. The cameras do a reasonable job, but they're not going to replace a dedicated digital camera, or really even the camera on your phone for most still images. The cameras do a substantially better job with video, and FaceTime is probably one of the best reasons to get the iPad 2 over the original iPad. For those who might not be familiar, FaceTime is Apple's face to face conferencing system, kind of like Skype, or if you'd rather, kind of like the Jetson's TV/Phone. With the push of a button you can be having a face to face chat with a loved one just about anywhere in the world (provided they're on a wireless network at the time). FaceTime doesn't work over 3G natively (it can be used over a wifi connection created by a 3G device however) so you're not going to be able to use it in your car anytime soon. This is probably a good thing though. It is incredibly easy to use and if you know other people with an iPad 2, iPhone 4, or Mac it's a lot of fun.

Smart Covers aren't really "smart" but they're really very useful. Not only do they provide a stylistic enhancement of the device, but they serve a practical and functional purpose of doubling as a screen protector and stand in 2 configurations. You can find them in a variety of colors and from third market suppliers, and it's a safe bet that more will be out soon to capitalize on the magnetic sensors in the iPad 2. It's unfortunate that this same feature can't somehow be retrofitted to the iPad 1, I wouldn't have thought a case would be a compelling reason to consider a product over it's competitor, but these covers are really so useful it's hard to understand why they've not been there since the beginning.

Multitasking Support

One of the biggest knocks against the iPad when first released was the lack of native multi-tasking support. Jailbreakers added the feature quickly and Apple soon realized it would be a requirement for any future device's success and released an OS update that included the feature. The iPad 2 capitalizes on that progress and takes it a step further with the increased RAM enabling more open applications to be suspended at once, and the time to open or close an application has improved as well. That said, even the first generation managed to open and close apps faster than most people would be used to on their computers, so while this is an improvement it's more akin to showing off.

Apps

One thing that Apple has clearly the advantage in for the moment is app availability. The App store has close to 70,000 iPad specific Apps, all of which will work on the iPad 2. The new cameras will undoubtedly see this list expand rapidly, as will the inclusion of a gyroscope for gaming and motion based uses. There are also a substantial number of professional applications ranging from document creation to photo editing and vector drawing. Chances are if you can dream it, there's an App for that (and if not you might want to get started on one to fill in the gap). The Android market is making a strong showing, and ultimately it'll likely be a strong competitor, for now it still has a ways to go, but any potential buyer should consider the strength of the application market before buying a tablet.

Pros:

Weight. Seriously. The minimal weight of this thing is by far the most impressive feature about it in my opinion. It seems to defy physics and logic that so much could be in such a small space working that hard for that long.

Battery Life. From full to dead my iPad 2 went just over 11 hours with the movie Robin Hood showing twice during that time, the screen at half brightness, wifi turned on, an Angry Birds marathon and a good portion of a book in ibook. That's better than a work day and that's constantly on.

Books. This is definitely a Pro, but reading itself could go either way. The great benefit to the iPad is having access to Google Books, ibook, Nook, and Kindle. This allows for some comparison shopping and price competition (although for the most part they're all usually about the same). Reading in the evenings in bed is great as the back light means you don't have to worry about keeping others awake, but the glass screen causes some glare trouble when trying to read outside or near a sunny window. If you're an avid outdoor reader the Kindle might still be your best bet.

Cons:

Still no dedicated USB support. While there is a camera add-on that allows for certain USB devices to be used there is no option for mass storage. Some of the Android Tablets allow for this and if you find yourself wanting to use your tablet as a standalone storage device this might be something to consider. The device can read from certain flash drives though, but is largely limited to photo and video files. Jailbreaks offer solutions to this, but those come with their own issues as well.

Still no dedicated SD card slot. This is troublesome on two fronts. First, if you want to import pictures from your camera you have to have an adapter which is just one more thing to carry around. Second, the lack of expansion means you're limited to what you purchase in terms of storage. I purchased a 32GB iPad last time and never filled it up completely, so for me capacity wasn't an issue. If you want to be able to have your entire movie collection with you though... you may want to consider whether the iPad 2 can meet your space requirements.

HDMI output. Really this is a Pro and a Con. The iPad does allow for HD output over HDMI but again it requires an adapter. All of these adapters are additional purchases for features that some tablets offer built in. This can be a pain, but then again if you're not likely to ever use HDMI Output then you're not paying for something you won't use.

No Flash Support. This is becoming less and less of an issue as the internet and web developers are moving away from Flash for many websites, but there are a lot still out there relying on Adobe's Flash to run properly (including a lot of web based games). Before you pick a tablet consider what kind of websites you frequent and try and determine if they are Flash driven or not. If they are you may really want to consider something from the Android offerings as it is expected that they'll have at least some Flash support.

If you're in the market for a tablet device the iPad 2 should definitely be on your short list. If you're uncertain it is always best to go and play with these things hands on first if you can. Best Buy is a good place for that, so are Verizon Stores since they have the Xoom and 3G iPad. Don't get pulled into the hype and mania that comes with an Apple release. They're exciting and new, and they're impressive enough to warrant some excitement, but it will die down and there will be other products that prove a strong competitor to the iPad 2. If you're looking for right now though, this is probably your best bet. I gave the device 4 stars, as I did the iPad 1. I did this in contemplation of the features offered by competitors that are absent from the iPad, most notably the requirement for adapters for USB/SD/HDMI. While these features are there, they aren't as convenient as in other tablets. With that in mind I firmly believe that the iPad more than makes up for this in usability, reliability, and design and in those areas far exceeds its current competitors. Ipad Accessories - iphone stylus, acase

Here's what I found after trying a multitude of styluses (or is it styli?) after buying an iPad 2. I wanted to use an iPad as a sketch book and the pad like it's name...and go digital rather than filling up notebook after notebook. So the perfect stylus has to feel like a pen and work well enough on the screen to give the tactile feel of drawing or writing on paper.

I learned that styluses tips are of 2 main types - fuzzy fabric and rubber - with some additional quirky ones made of metal (O-Stylus)or the sausage stylus (sausage also works like your finger!)

--Fabric tips:

Pogo stylus- also used by Apple Geniuses - have a fabric tip that's great for typing or selecting or gaming even but not so good for writing or sketching anything more complex than a smiley face.

Sock Stylus: This is a conductive fabric sock stretched over a wooden quill, sold on etsy (can google it). This stylus was light and the fabric tip over a wooden pen helped reduce drag due to it's smooth but hard tip. In fast note taking this stylus tended to be easier on the wrist as it was less squishy than the ACase tip. However, it lacked sensitivity in some apps and I had to go over the strokes twice for them to register. Also since it's not rubber you have to hold it at a certain angle but once you do it gives you good results.

There are other fuzzy fabric styluses out there sold by small stores - like the ones by the guy who has been advertising on all Mac forums as stylusrus and posting pictures of his store in competitors' item images. They claim that they have the best yet but I haven't tried that one yet.

--Rubber tips:

The ACase in question (2nd Gen) has a rubber tip. Please check my uploaded pic for size comparison against some other styluses.

The rubber tip looks pretty thick but is still thinner than our fingers. The problem is that it does block the view when writing or sketching just like our finger. This 2nd gen ACase tries to eliminate some of that by creating a longer stylus than most others like Targus, Boxwave, Pogo and even 1st gen ACase styluses. The rubber tip is also thinner and longer like a pen to block less view. All good design choices.

Unfortunately it fails to deliver when compared to some others. If you've only tried the El Cheapos from eBay etc or even from Amazon this is definitely a step up but falls behind the Targus and Boxwave. The longer stem is lighter and feels hollow and does not have the good weight of the 2-in-1 ACase that I tested. The longer rubber tip seems like a good solution until you try to use it on the iPad. I tested a Targus, ACase 2-in-1 and ACase 2nd gen in conjunction on Penultimate and UPad writing apps on iPad and also on Sketchbook Pro. I also used it for general tapping to select mail and do other tasks on iPad along with the rest. It failed to deliver as well as the others all counts. The rubber tip had to be angled a certain way to write and it kept missing strokes, if you pressed harder it delivered but the thinner rubber tip felt squishy and unnatural inducing writers' cramp. If you have to worry about the angle you're holding it at all times it's certainly not a natural process of writing. I took off the cord that attaches it to the headphone jack immediately as it makes an annoying jingling noise when you use the stylus. As a workaround I took off the metal spring hook that attaches the cord to the top of the stylus and tied the cord back on using some sturdy black thread which made it quieter.

Using ACase 2nd gen on an iPhone 4: For the iPad 2 I did not find it the best stylus to use, but when using on a smaller screen like an iPhone 4 it allowed me to select those small type links or buttons more precisely simply because the tip is thinner and allowed me to see better, rather than the hit and pray when using the finger. So if you're primarily going to use the stylus for tapping on a smartphone rather than sketching or writing this stylus is a good choice.

The ACase 2-in-1 was much better, Acase 2 in 1 Stylus + Pen for Apple iPad 16GB, 32GB, 64GB WiFi + 3G, iPad 2, iPhone, iPod, Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy, BlackBerry Playbook (Black). The weight was right and it felt balanced in the hand. The tip was more responsive when writing or sketching perhaps due to larger surface area in contact with the screen. However, I still prefer the Targus Targus Stylus for Apple iPad 16GB, 32GB, 64GB WiFi + 3G, iPad 2, iPhone, iPod, Tablet AMM01US (Black) overall for writing on iPad 2 as it is the most responsive of all and has a matte finish stem rather than ACase's smooth finish which makes it a little less slippery to hold. The iPad 2 is already so slinky, I don't want to worry about dropping the stylus too!!

I've also heard good things about the Boxwave and Alupen but haven't tested them so I can't say if they're better than Targus.

So there you have it, Targus was the winner in writing and sketching but still a 3.8/5 compared to the 3 stars for ACase 2nd Gen stylus. Acase 2nd Generation Apple iPad / iPhone / iPod Capacitive Stylus (Jet Black) Newest Model - Iphone Stylus - Touch Screen Stylus - Stylus - Acase'

Raised Air Bed - inflatable mattress, air mattress

At first I received one of these, and it was defective out of the box; having been burned by a previous airbed manufacturer, and after the months-long process to get a replacement, I was so weary I just decided to eat the expense and live with its leaking. I left a scathing review.

But that was too hasty. A company representative contacted me, and asked why I hadn't asked for a replacement. I told my story. He was more than obliging, and immediately replaced the unit. I was surprised and refreshed. It's really a very nice bed, and I wish I'd been slower to assume the worst. I'm very happy with the bed, and recommend it for its ease and speed up setup and modest price. And, needless to say, their obliging and friendly staff. I'm thoroughly satisfied. Smart Air Beds Raised Comfort Coil Beam Flocked Top Queen Size Inflatable Mattress (Best) BD-1224

We bought this mattress for family that was coming to visit. The box had two different stickers on the outside instructing us to inflate fully and deflate the mattress at least three times BEFORE using. We did this about 4 or 5 times before trying it out for the first time. Our guest used this mattress for over a week with no need to refill or top off the mattress. I found a few other reviews saying they had to keep adding air, but don't know if they did the initial inflate/deflate step. This mattress inflates in minutes, deflates just as fast, is nice and tall and relatively easy to get off and on. I would highly recommend this mattress for anyone needing a spare mattress, whether for out-of-town guests, a retreat from a snoring spouse or to watch movies in the living room! :) It folds up nice and small with its own bag so it's super easy to store when not in use, too...Great product, great price!

I received this air mattress less than 30 days ago. I bought it to replace a Coleman air mattress that had increased in size until I could hardly open my closet door or even walk into the bedroom. This is by far the most comfortable air mattress I've ever had. The height is exactly as stated and makes the bed very easy to get up from in the morning. Other beds claim a 22" height but actually measure 18" when fully inflated. I use a queen size memory foam topper and it was a perfect fit for the bed. My bedroom is carpeted which really helps prevent damage to the bottom of the bed. I had a Simmons Beautyrest Skyrise Express that lasted over a year! I inflated and deflated this bed three times before use, following the product instructions. The bed still needed to be topped off about every three days. I was hoping this was part of the break-in process. I am on my feet all day long at work and coming home to eventually sleep in this awesome bed was such a blessing. But now, less than a month after receiving the bed I can no longer fool myself into believing that this leaking will stop. I have had to add air twice in the last two hours and it looks like it will be the floor or the couch for me tonight. I did not keep any of the packaging and I don't know if Amazon will replace this or not. If you're lucky enough to get one that doesn't leak, this is a great bed!

Purchased the inflatable bed because an inflatable mattress is difficult to get out of in the morning (I am 67). Bought it so I would have a place to sleep when I visited my son, i.e. didn't want to put him out of his bed. I slept in in for five nights & was very comfortable. Added air each night to ensure no problem in the night. I was still afloat every morning. It was a little warm on my back & I was a little apprenhensive when I rolled over when I slept. But, I never had a problem. Glad I bought it.

I purchased this smart bed after looking at reviews and product information. I sent it to my son's house across country and he received it in good time approximately 3 weeks before I was to visit him. He followed the instructions of inflating it 3 times prior to my arrival.

When I arrived I was pleased to see that it inflates easily and quicker than most air beds. The air curb around the sides was very effective so you don't roll off. The bed was not as bouncy as other beds I have tried which is a good thing. You hardly know you are sleeping on air as there is much support but not stiff. There are 2 chambers for adjustment, the main portion and the upper portion.

Letting the air out is a bit slow and I found it takes 2 people to lay on it to get all the air out while folding up the bed.

I would also recommend purchasing the recommended bedding as it takes oversized fitted sheets which fit perfectly.

We purchased this mattress before a trip so that we would have a place to sleep at a relative's home, and it was worth every penny. The mattress was so comfortable that we thought about using it every day at our home instead of our regular bed. It is nice to be able to get a good night's sleep while away from home. We did not have a queen-sized sheet for it, but used a king size. That worked out fine and the sheet did not slip because of the flocked top. We inflated and deflated 3 times as was suggested before using it and it was fine. It was easy to travel with because of its carrying bag and was not too heavy. Getting it back into its carrying bag was not easy, but possible. It remained inflated for the entire trip, although it probably could use a little air each day to keep it super-firm. It is now being stored in our closet, taking up very little space, until our next trip or for some guests of our own. We are very happy with the purchase which I believe to be a quality item. - Queen Air Bed - Air Bed - Inflatable Mattress - Air Mattress'

Ipad 2 Case

The Toblino 2 Napa Leather case for the iPad 2 by Mobilevision is everything as described! It is made from real leather with a warm, soft feel; the stitching is even; the inside microfiber lining and padding appear to nicely protect the iPad; and, best of all, it arrived earlier than expected! As advertised, the cover does act like the Apple Smartcover in that it turns the iPad off when closed and then turns it on when it's opened. Considering this nicely constructed slim leather case provides over twice the protection for your iPad 2 (both the front and back as well as some of the sides) as compared to the Apple Smartcover (which protects only the front), provides equivalent functionality (multiple angle stand, magnetic on/off) without adding considerable bulk or weight, and is very close to the the same price ($39.95 for the Toblino 2 leather case versus $39.00 for the Apple polyurethane case), the Toblino 2 case provides more value for your money. Great job, Mobilevision!! Toblino 2: Leather iPad 2 Case (Folio Convertable Case Multi-angle Stand for the Apple iPad2)

we researched as many cases/covers as we could find for our ipad2, and finally decided on this one because of the stand function. it's great to be able to prop it up and play games, read, watch tv... not the best way to type but we don't type on it much. it looks much nicer than expected - looks very high quality. it's a tight fit, but not so tight that you can't pop the 2 clips off the side in order to prop it up on the stand. we love it & highly recommend this case.

I read the reviews of Toblino case on Amazon for ipad 1 and was waiting for the release of Toblino 2 eagerly although I got my ipad 2 on 15th March. This is exactly what I expected and what I waited for - a tight fitted yet flexible light weight case which looks like a folio. The napa leather is soft and has this simple yet elegant look and feel - not gaudy or flashy but just simply pleasant to hold and use. The soft microfiber interior and the proximity magnet (puts your ipad 2 to sleep whenever closed) are very welcome and useful additions. The case itself has tight hinges which firmly holds the ipad2 in place. You can also view and use the ipad 2 at multiple angles of tilt while in the case. One another excellent thing I noticed was that even though my ipad 2 has a clear screen protector on, while sliding into the case, the hinges didn't undo the screen protector at all. Overall I am very happy that I waited for this case and am very satisfied with its both its looks and performance.

I am very picky when it comes to cases. The Apple case without the back protection was no good. I bought a cheap leather folio type case with a built in stand but those cases cover the frame on the front of the iPad. I think as much of the iPad should be exposed as possible since it's such a nice gadget.

Then I went with a "gel" type case here on Amazon and while the iPad fit very snugly and was perfect, it wasn't tacky at all. It was just as slippery with the gel case as without one. So into the pile it went.

Enter this case. I ordered it figuring I'd return it if it wasn't to my liking but when I took it out of the packaging, I loved it right away. Sliding the iPad in I could tell it was going to be a very secure case. It was a tight fit but I prefer that over a looser one. The leather is nice, the magnetic shut off closure was a great idea and it doesn't seem (to me) to add a lot of weight or bulk. It's really professional looking when closed and sitting on the desk. Unlike the leather case with stand that I bought, this case has a cutout for the speaker, which is now located on the back of the iPad 2, unlike the iPad 1's bottom mounted speaker.

Now, the odd design choices:

1 - The slots were crucial for me and the first one has the iPad standing in a completely vertical position. I don't use that much and don't find it very useful. The second groove puts the iPad on a nice angle but for some reason when they cut the groove they did not give any consideration to the fact that the iPad is now on an angle so several times it has slipped out of that groove. Had they angled the groove rather than cutting it straight, it would have been much better.

2 - I think the lack of a third groove was probably shelved because had they included one that was cut straight and not angled, there is no way the iPad would remain in the slot. Again, a third groove could have been added had they angled the cut properly.

3 - Not sure if this is just the case that I got or if it's a design issue but there are four "clips" on the corners to secure the iPad in addition to the two slots that you slide it into. The two clips on the top have a fattish lip on them that holds the corners very securely. The bottom two clips on mine don't have any lip at all, so the corners just basically sit on them. The one that you remove when you want to use the iPad on an angled position is constantly sliding out of that clip. The iPad is still very secure but it's a little irritating. The outer clip doesn't let go of the corner unless you touch it but if you do, it pops out. Why they didn't put the fat lip on all four corners is a mystery. Essentially, you have one fat lip and one no lip to disengage in order to use the angled positions.

I have found that if you let the iPad just float you can press it down enough that eventually it will settle into a comfortable typing position. Not sure how sturdy it will remain but for now it's pretty good.

So far I love the case. It's almost perfect. If it had the fat lips on all four corners I'd give it five stars but since they are not there, it'll have to settle for 4.'

Multifunction Tools - multimaster, multifunction tools

I bought this tool with the thought in mind not to spend too much on something I probably wouldn't use very often. At this price it was a cheap gamble. I finally got a chance to use it the other day, replacing some T&G flooring and was impressed at how well it worked. It's looks and feels solid and at this point I consider it a good purchase.I really can't see what any of the major name brand tools could do better. The only down point is finding blades that fit. You won't find them at HD or Lowes. Amazon sells blades made by Versa-Tool that fit, so if you buy the tool, stock up so you don't get caught without any replacements.

Update: The Bosch blades will fit, but man are they expensive! Also, if you hit a nail it doesn't matter how much you paid for the blade, it's history.

Update part 2: Ever heard the old saying "You get what you pay for"? Well, in this case it turned out to be true. After using the tool for just a few times, it started acting erratic until it finally just would not turn on. I'm pretty sure it's the switch but it's useless now. It worked long enough to get an idea of it's unique abilities and opened my eyes to how useful these type of tools can be. Now I can justify buying a high end tool as I found it to be indispensible. Genesis GMT15A Multi-Purpose Oscillating Tool

I bought this to cut out some hardwood floor planks and it worked great. I've since used it many times on other projects. It seems to work just as good as the more expensive ones, just hope that it lasts as long. If not, I only paid a little and it was worth it for the few times I've used it. If you're not a general contractor and are just going to use it for home projects, I highly recommend this product.

I am a pro renovator, 35 years with 4 carpenters. Bought a Dremel type and used it for one job and everybody wanted one. Bought the others the Genesis tool, hey it's less than half the cost and the blades are much cheaper. The Genesis is proving superior, no problems whatsoever. These tools are so handy we just don't go anywhere without them, a real time saver. It's most useful as an electric chisel but all functions are great. Get one!

I have done extensive home upgrades and repairs over the years, having accumulated numerous types of saws, but I purchased this multi-purpose tool to address a single issue that I have not encountered in the past 45 years. Having seen advertisements for this type of tool, I was positive that this was the only tool that could successfully address this need to expand the attic opening to my AIR CONDITIONING air handler. All other efforts would have resulted in a time consuming 'cluggy' result. In deciding to postpone this work and purchasing this Genesis GMT15A tool, I was able to very simple and very precisely complete this job.

In a comparison with similar multi-purchase tools, I found the Genesis GMT15A to be 'on a pair' in performance, while costing about approx. 50% less. I had determined that this purchase would have been worth it, if only to get this one job done. But after receiving this tool, I can see that it will be a 'go to' produce in many of my future efforts.

OK, my neighbor has a Fein multimaster and it is awesome. We use it all the time and I kind of got the Fein envy a few weeks ago so I decided to try this brand out. I must say that I have used this now for about a month and it is awesome. Although it isn't a Fein, it weighs about the same, feels the same and is about the same level of noise. The heads are interchangeable with the Fein and it is about 1/10th the cost. I can't say whether it will last for twenty years but at 1?10th the price I can afford to buy one every 5 years for the rest of my life and still come in under what the Fein brand name costs. Not sure if this is a good financial decision for you but if you are on a tight budget like I am you would be a fool to pass this one up. I have used it to scrape paint and glue, cut drywall, concrete, metal and wood. The only thing I had any trouble going through was a concrete nail. (For what it is worth, my neighbor with the Fein burned a blade up as well and we ended up just beating the nail out instead) I would definately recommend this one and will be getting several to send out as Christmas gifts this year. My only explanation of the price difference from the Fein is that they must have lost the patent and cheaper models are now available.

5 Stars from this home improvement user!

I like the size, weight and feel of this Genesis tool. It's effectiveness is not in question. What I find disconcerting is that the triangular sandpaper affixes to the tool head without any fastener or tie-down, resulting in slippage of the paper after a bit of use.

I struggled with buying the Rockwell or even a used Fein, not being able to justify spending a whole lot on a tool that would just be used around the house. I needed it for one particular project but wasn't sure how much use it would get beyond that.

It's worked great so far (for cuts in wood and some sanding). No problems with overheating motor or loosening of the blade during use. There's no question these tools are handy, and I've been using it a lot more than I thought I would.

That said, it could easily crap out on me tomorrow. But for the $35 I paid for it I'm very happy with its performance so far. I generally like to buy "name brand" tools and usually the professional ones if possible, but I highly recommend this tool for the homeowner.

By the way, Bosch is coming out with an adapter so that any multi-tool can be used with any brand's accessories/blades. So you should be able to put a higher quality cutting blade (with the higher price) on this tool if you wanted.

I have had my GMT15A for a couple of weeks now and it has surprised me in comparison to the reviews I have read on similar tools for 3 times the price or better. I have used it for six hours straight scraping epoxy from metal sinks, and it worked great, without getting hot like the others do, according to the reviews. I can't say I like the regular saw blade that comes with the unit, but the other blade works great; it cuts much too slowly. Sanding is good as well. Only having the one speed doesn't seem to be an issue at all; it's all that's needed. I definitely recommend it for the price. It beats the higher priced ones from all I've read. - Oscillating Tool - Oscillating Saw - Multifunction Tools - Multimaster'

Docking Station - ipod, ipod speakers

I did quite a bit of research before getting the Bose SoundDock II. I wanted a dock that would work with my iPod touch 2G, have superb sound quality, and preferably charge my iPod while docked. Well I have to say that I got all i wanted and then some with this unit.

I read some reviews online written by "audiophiles" and supposed "sound experts" bashing Bose for selling overpriced and underpowered equipment. These people just don't get it. I won't go on to bore you in detail about the ridiculous things that were said but I will mention that these people are comparing the SoundDock to a home stereo setup that entails having a receiver with two separate wired speakers. Is this a fair comparison? I beg to differ.

To summarize this product it's a compact unit you can have in virtually any room in the house minus a bathroom (for safety purposes) and its sound can be described as warm and beautiful with deep enough bass to make your sound come alive but not wake the neighbors. Clear, never distorted at any volume. You get what you pay for.

Thanks Bose! Bose SoundDock Series II Digital Music System for iPod (Silver)

The Bose SoundDock has the Bose quality sound you would expect. It is a great way to play your IPOD, just plug it into the dock and play. You do not have any control over bass and treble, just volume. The remote has a good feel to it and responds well. There is a small green light in the dock that lights up each time you press a remote button. You will usually use the remote to change the volume, select the next or previous track and turn it on/off. The SoundDock itself only has 2 buttons for volume up and down.

The volume goes louder than I expected and I never have turned it up all the way, even when the kids are playing their IPODs.

There are a few things they could have improved......The power cord has the transformer built into the middle of the cord, it should have been built into the unit. The power cord plugs straight into the back of the SoundDock with a small round plug and it will come out easily if the unit is moved. The docking station is a seperate piece that is attached and it moves around a little which makes it feel loose. There isn't an on/off switch on the unit, just the remote, so you have to turn the IPOD off or use the remote to turn them both off, or just pull the IPOD out. My SoundDock was missing one of the stick on rubber feet on the bottom. I called Bose support and they mailed me one free.

Overall it's a great quality unit where it counts but Bose cut corners where they could on the rest of it.

We do love it and use it almost everyday.

The sound quality is very good for the price point and the size. That said, the remote does not interface correctly with my ipod. Specifically it does not allow the user to move through the menus as it is supposed to. I thought at first the Bose system was defective so I returned it for a new one but the second one has the same problem. All the other remote functions work properly but in order to navigate through the menus on the ipod I either have to hold onto it in the docking station (it doesn't have a snug fit-another drawback) so that the pins don't come loose, or else I have to take the ipod out of the docking station all together, make my music selection and then put it back in the dock. This is a major flaw in an otherwise good product.

Received the Bose SoundDock II (Silver) as a gift. What an exceptional powerhouse! It fills the house or can be quiet enough for just the den. I have Bose noise-canceling headphones. The Bose quality and engineering is exceptional. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the system lacks AM/FM radio like other (less expensive) docks (please take a hint, Bose!).

Have the 1st Bose SoundDock for 2 older iPods. When bought new iPhone 3GS, bought the new Bose SoundDock II. Excellent sound! Fills 2300 sqft house fully, plus the yard. Rich clear music. Can get very loud, impressive. Kept my iPhone on it for a couple months, then discovered AirTunes, the Apple way of wirelessly turning every speaker in the house into broadcasting station for iTunes playlists and radio etc. AWESOME !!! Just buy an AirPort Express and connect it to the SoundDock II via Belkin Mini-Stereo Cable and you can stream all your playlists / songs to this great speaker PLUS all your other speakers in every room of your house, all at once, individually, or in selected groups. The roof is about to fly off with the volume of intensely great music raising the rafters here!

Then your iPhone is free to use as a Remote, free Apple app, to control your music on all speakers. Heaven! Have a long kirtan / mantra / bhajan playlist and having it going all throughout the house and yard for hours (actually days) non-stop is an amazing boon.

The Bose SoundDock II is expensive but we are very glad we bought it. It is getting a workout now along with all our other systems / speakers, all at once. Plus, we can take the Bose out on the deck, or to the office. - Sound Dock - Ipod - Ipod Speakers - Docking Station'

Security Camera - security camera, wildlife

II have three trailcams from Bushnell, two earlier models and this new one. This one is the 2011 model that has audio (not really important), a timer to take a picture (field scan), and can handle 32GB memory cards.

I also own three other trail cams from Moultrie a M-60, I-40 and a D-50. I had a cuddleback two years ago, and it worked fine, but it got destroyed (tree fell on it). I do not own the new Moultrie M-100, which seems very similar to this Bushnell, but this is the first year for the M-100 and I bet they will have software issues. This is the 3rd year for Bushnell and they have this camera dialed-in very well.

The biggest issue with my older Moultrie cams is battery life. They need feed 6 D cells about once a month. The price of the batteries start to add up, but mostly the issue is going out to a dead trailcam and wondering what pictures you missed. A battery life of 1-year for just 8 AA is great.

Aside from battery life, all these trailcams seem to do the work well. Basically I want to take a picture of game when it walks by and they all do that. I'm not going to publish my pictures in National Geographic, I mostly want to count horns and find patterns. All do that just fine for me.

I've stuck different models of trail cams on the same tree and compared results. It's weird, sometimes the Bushnell shoots and sometimes the Moultrie shoots but most of the time they both shoot when game walks by.

I like the 2 year warranty from Bushnell and have used it. The first year model had issues, and I returned it- they then sent me a new current year model. I had issues with a Moltrie cam once and tried to get warranty work, but they did not honor the warranty and returned my camera. I bought from an on-line dealer they did not like. ( I will only buy from major retailers now)

I do like the nighttime flash color pictures from my Moultrie D-50, as it is nice to see in color. All nighttime trailcams that use IR flash come out in black and white. Flash vs IR is a personal thing, but in the end I'm counting horns and B&W is fine for my needs.

The biggest thing I hate about the I-40 &M-60 Moultrie is the fact that it is not easy to swap the SD card. I sometimes like to check my cams every day and it's a real pain to swap SD cards. On the Bushnell it's a piece of cake.

The biggest thing I hate about the Bushnell is that programming in the field under low light conditions is difficult. The screen is hard to read and the buttons are impossible. I find I need a small flashlight unless it is a bright sunny day.

Some trailcams come with a `viewer'. Personally I think it is a waste, save your money. If you need to view pics in the field, most all cameras (the cameras you use to take pictures of the kids) that use a SD chip will display trailcams pics, and so do smartphones. In my trailcams I use microSD with an adaptor and then plug the microSD into my blackberry for field viewing (If I can't wait to get back to the house).

Summary, I've been real happy with my Bushnell trailcam. I buy one new cam every year and for 2011 bought this one. I did look at the Moultrie M-100 and I think it would have worked fine for my needs, but it was a bit more $$ than the Bushnell and the fact that the Moultrie is a first year model made me stay with the Bushnell this year. Bushnell 8MP Trophy Cam Brown Night Vision Trail Camera

I received this product and am very pleased. I've had a lot of luck with these small Bushnell cameras. Battery life is great and trigger speed is also quite good. For clarification, this IS the 2011 model with the field scan. Up to 8 Meg images. My only semi negative feedback would be that with field scan you can only set one time period, so if you are going to take images during the morning and evening periods you basically have to include the entire day or the entire night. The entire night would definitely wear down the batteries (IR flash). I imagine it is a simple software fix that Bushnell will put out in the future. I own Moultries at the same price point and far prefer my Bushnells. I simply can't choke out the cash for the Reconyx cameras. They are entirely too pricey to have a sufficient quantity of them to try to understand the deer herd on the size property where I hunt. I can get five Bushnells for the price of two Reconyx. My Bushnell from last season stood the outdoor life well here in East TX (heat, rain, heat, rain...).

I also bought the python lock and metal outside case... they're kind of a pain in the rear to deal with (I'm a low irritant tolerant guy) and nothing a bolt cutter wouldn't make quick work of. Probably not worth it unless hunting public land.

Finally I searched the web pretty heavily and found the price at Amazon was the best I could do. If you can beat it though, congrats, then I'm the chump.

Regardless, I'm happy you're reading this because it means you're also excited about deer season. God blessed this great land and you too, be safe and happy scouting!

SGB

I have owned several diffferent trail cams over the past 5 years. Some good, some just fair, some bad. The battery life and the fire up response time to take a picture is very important. I recently purchased 2 of these bushnell trail cams. Both the battery life and the response time for the Bushnell are excellent. Battery life is awesome, and the trigger time is so quick I rarely miss a picture. I can honestly say this is the best trail cam I have ever owned.

This is the 4th bushnell trohpy cam I own. I will continue to purchase them over and over.

Pros:

Fantastic Battery Life - I use Energizer ultimate lithium batteries with these cameras. I am able to get tens of thousands of pictures on a single set (somewhere between 15k and 20k)

Captures all game - Its IR sensor is actually set wider than the camera lens. Because of this the camera seems to capture most game. This has one negative though, it can produce a few blank pictures. Digital pictures are almost free though (battery life I guess costs), so who cares?

Warranty - 2 Years, find another camera that does this. I had ants get into one of my cameras via the battery cable slot. They made it inoperable. I sent the camera in to be repaired. 22 days after sending it in, I received a brand new camera. The camera was the newer model.

Cons:

Have to tape the battery cable cover shut so ants do not get in.

Blurred pictures - I have found that some of the pictures are blurred. I am on the latest software update. - Wildlife Camera - Wildlife - 8gb Sdhc - Security Camera'
