Portable Gas Grill - roadtrip, coleman

This is a great little portable grill - if you don't expect too much! (Too many people write reviews here expecting inexpensive items to be gold plated and nuclear powered). It's not meant to replace a regular full-size grill and shouldn't be compared to one. Use it for car camping or a tailgate party for cooking for two or three people (maybe four but that's pushing it) and just realize it has limitations, though they are easy to work around.

I got it on sale for only $25 so consider it an excellent value. It was simple to put together, no directions required and takes about a minute. My legs stay in well once inserted and come back out with a good tug. There is an included nylon carry-bag which works fine for keeping the parts together (the grille, two legs, gas bottle, pan support and plastic grille cover). It also functions well as a regular single-burner stove when you take the grill off. It feels stable and solid if set on a good surface.

The burner adjusts well from off to low to high and is quick and easy to start by pushing the burner control knob in. The drippings collect well in the pan below the burner. There is a small griddle on one side of the grill that will hold one egg or pancake (or two small ones). The biggest drawback is the heat distribution. Since it uses a small burner in the middle and has no heat distribution baffle; it is much hotter in the center than towards the edge. You get around this by actively moving your burgers around to keep them cooking evenly (this can be an advantage if you want something to cook slower by pushing to the outside). Coleman says you must put water in the catch basin, which seems to distribute the heat a little better but I think that is also to reduce the possibility of a grease fire. I tried it a couple of times without the water and it worked OK.

Overall, it is a good value when used for what it is intended for. I think Coleman could have designed the grill with better heat distribution without significantly adding to the cost, so I give it four stars. Coleman 9940-A55 Roadtrip Party Grill

I camped down at MIS and bought this grill on sale the day before. Not only was it easy to set up once I was down there - it was perfect for me since I was cooking only for one. It was awesome to take the grill top off and be able to perk coffee in the morning and then grill burgers on it later. Definitely fill the basin when grilling, it makes cleanup a snap. The bag makes it super portable and the propane attachment is a breeze to replace. All in all a great deal and super useful.

This is the perfect grill if you are looky for an affordable grill that is dependable and will last for years. I have had my Coleman party grill for 5 years now and it is the perfect grilling companion whether I am tailgating a ball game or camping in the great outdoors. The legs fit inside the grill for storage, and it is extremely easy to clean. I recommend this item to everyone!

This is a great little item when cooking for two people. I have had mine for a year and usually flop a steak on the grill and open a can of beans or corn on the griddle. This last trip I think I found the best way is to use it as a Korean "Hibachi type" Bar-B-Que. Fire it up on the camp table. Pour out your favorite "dipping" sauces. Precut your raw meats (beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, etc.)into bitesize or bigger morsels. The same goes for the veggies. Oil them up a bit if you like or wrap them in foil, add a little water and steam them. Cook several pieces at a time and keep cooking them as you eat them. I found that this technique overcomes the uneven cooking characteristics reported in other reviews and it's fun too! Each piece comes hot off the grill. The way you like it! By the time I eat a whole steak cooked my old method as a single piece, it's cold. Try it.

The thing that attracted me to this one was the dishwasher safe rating. Yes it will go in the dishwasher, but it cooks unevenly, burns the outside of food while the inside is still uncooked. Worst of all I end up fighting with it just to get it turned on. It usually take me 2 minutes of fiddling with it to get it turned on. The knob is terrible. DON'T BUY IT!!

Calling this a grill seems a bit of a misnomer. Essentially, it's a single burner camping stove that comes with a grill grate cover that really acts more like a skillet with holes in it. The flame is very close to the grill grate and propane burns hot. Though the burner flame is adjustable, it is difficult to regulate the heat effectively. It also cooks unevenly, with items in the middle (over the burner jets) cooking very quickly and items on the sides cooking very slowly. Thick cuts of meat or fish are problematic because A) they are too big to move around on the grill top for even cooking and B)the grill has no cover and burns so hot that you will cook the outside of your thicker cuts while the inside will stay cool.

If you are looking for a grill that performs like a miniature backyard gas/propane barbecue, this is not your product. If you want a small, easy to use, single burner for camping/tailgating and plan to use if for boiling, and/or grilling hotdogs and burgers, it serves pretty well.

This is a nice grill to use for parties or for your family! The price is just right and it is just the right size. Not too heavy, not too light! The only thing not good about this is you have to buy the propane canister yourself. That isnt expensive though. Its a nice grill overall!

Probably good for boiling water but you can't cook a steak on this. Gets extremely hot over the center area which is solid with no open grating over the flame area and food sticks and burns. I tried to use only the outer grated section of the grill but anything touching the center just attaches to the solid top and burns. You would do just as well cooking with a blow torch!

The grill top is fairly unstable on its supports to begin with and takes a balancing act to properly center it. The meat sticks and pulls the whole grill top with it when you try to turn it and this alone can be a safety hazard as well.

The only good feature is that its easy to clean the burnt meat off the grill top before returning it. - Portable Grills - Camping - Coleman - Roadtrip'

Airsoft Guns - airsoft guns, gas

I received this product about a week after I ordered it. The package it came in was, unfortunately, soaked with silicone oil. Apparently the little plastic bottle it came in had sprung a leak. After cleaning off the excess oil, I found that I had only half a bottle of silicone oil left - but i'm not complaining. The propane adapter itself is plastic, an extremely hard/stiff plastic at that, but still plastic. I recommend gentle handling with this product. After delicately screwing the adapter onto a Worthington Pro-Grade, blue propane tank from a local Lowes, I tested it out with my gas blowback pistol. The propane adapter worked perfectly, though when you're finished charging the magazine, pull it away from the adapter/propane tank slowly. If you yank it away suddenly/quickly, you'll have a magazine (and hand for that matter) soaked in silicone oil and smelling of propane. Refilling silicone oil into the adapter is simple - screw off the top portion of the adapter, and dispense one or two drops of silicone oil into the top about ever 5-8 magazine fills.

Overall, I had no problems with the product except for the leaking of silicone oil into the package i received it in. It simply does what it is made for, and if you don't abuse it, It should last you a while and save you some money. If you don't care too much for being gentle with it or cleaning silicone oil off of it, I might recommend a metal propane adapter without oil included for a little bit more money. Sapien Arms Airsoft Propane to Green Gas Adaptor with Silicon Oil

Have gone through 3 Dicks sporting goods propane tanks and 1 walmart tank.

(TIP) when filling---- turn your tank to where the nozzle is pointing the ground and fill it up until it starts to let a little more burst of propane out/ starts spraying out alot of liquid propane. Be careful it will freeze your skin and if you are shooting alot the tip of the adapter will freeze/ no problem because its hard plastic. Put it in as straight as you can, do not wiggle it or it will break....

(Storage)

Some times tanks will stick causing them to leak slowly so unscrew the SA adapter a little if leaving sit or you will come back to an empty tank. Ive had it happen, coming home to the smell of propane is less then enjoyable

Updated review. I bashed it earlier for not being able to seal to any propane bottles I could find locally.

Well, upon closer examination, on my unit, the stem that fits into the propane bottle's valve is a bit deformed near the end. Poor quality molding, I presume.

But, I found that if I remove the o-ring from the male threaded portion and insert it into the base of the cap, it allows the stem to push just a bit further into the bottle's valve. Used this way, it has sealed tightly to all the bottles I have tried.

I probably still wouldn't recommend purchasing this unit. It certainly didn't work for me as shipped. But for those who already have one, and you have problems with leaks, try moving the o-ring.

I have a KSC Mac11 and this adapter was too big for the fill hole. It simply did not work. It also had leaking silicon that soak through the package. I would stay away from this.

After reviewing this on the web some more, it looks as though this unit was half as long as it should have been. I ended up returning it.

Product does what it is supposed to do...No complaints...A little more instructions might be nice like how do you know when magazine is full of gas and how often to lube....Web says every 5 magazines and charge about 2 seconds.

I had ordered the sapien arms airsoft propane adaptor and had recieved it right on schedule. The product came as promised, and described. There are no defects with the product, and overall, I'm very satisfied.

I bought this and it works some of the time. It will fill mags, then it will begin to leak around the "piston". It's NOT leaking around the O-ring, which by the way is unnecessary since it is unlikely to leak in the threaded area. As best I can figure, the central tube/plunger that inserts into the propane tank is the culprit. It doesn't seal well, allowing the gas to escape into the area that is NOT press-connected to the magazine. Then it leaks around this plunger area. There was a YouTube video showing how to use some teflon tape to help and I tried that, but it only alleviates the problem a bit. If the liquid propane isn't being contained in the central tube, it IS going to leak. I think the central plunger tube is just under spec a bit. It does work better when everything is warm, which leads me to guess that as long as the tank seal is soft, the plunger is JUST big enough to seal it, but as soon as you start using it or it's a bit cold, the seal stiffens, and then the plunger is too small to keep a good seal.Bummer. I'm ordering the Airsoft Innovations one since everyone seems to like that one. Save yourself the time and money buy buying the more expensive AI one to begin with. This one is junk.

This product came with a bottle but the silicone oil was all over the package. The adapter worked until i started putting silicone oil like your supposed to. It somehow softened the plastic and now it leaks propane when i fill up my guns - Gas - Airsoft Guns - Propane Adapter - Green Gas'

Panasonic - panasonic

I have used this for video and still pictures. The picture quality is excellent. Connecting to computer easy. It is very small and lightweight. It is comfortable for still pictures, but I cannot use the video on/off with my hand in strap. It is too awkward. Also, it does not allow you to download to computer more than once. Intended to be downloaded to disk. This was not made clear before buying. This model is low end. Missing some of features of HDC-TM80P and HDC-HS80P. But for me it is great. I am an amateur and just want to point and shot and not fuss around. Panasonic HDC-SD80K HD SD Card Camcorder (Black)

I ordered the camcorder(Panasonic HDC-SD80R) from 6 Ave through Amazon. I took advantage of free shipping and it was here before the guarantied delivery time. The camcorder was packaged well. You need to order a SD card (8 or 16Gig) class 6 or 10, Mini HDMI to Std. HDMI cable, MTS file converter software (recommend BRORSOFT MTS/M2TS)to change files to MP4 for editing and Youtube, recommend extra battery, and charger (the charger that comes with the unit charges the battery in the camera). Most of the high end companies like Panasonic, Sony, Canon, etc. record the videos in MTS format(native Bluray and AVCHD files). The software included with the camera will allow you to edit and burn AVCHD DVD discs. These are standard DVDs that will play in many BluRay players. So if that's all you want to do great. Now if you want to do some serious DVD editing like using Roxio Creator 2010-2012 you will need to convert the files to MP4s. I tested several MTS converson software packages and really like BRORSOFT MTS/M2TS $29. The unique thing about this program it allows you to use CUDA or ATI multi-threading.(speeds up rendering by 3-5 times) You need a $50 video card for this i.e.. ATI or Nvidia. Even a slow computer 2 GHZ or faster will handle video files if you install one of these cards. I must admit when I first got the camcorder I thought about sending it back because Windows Media Player and several other players didn't like the MTS/M2TS files and my editing software didn't recognize those files. The HD Writer AE 3.0 does a good job making AVCHD DVD disks. The zoom, stabilization and picture quality is awesome for this price camcorder. It will fit in a shirt pocket and has a good battery run time.

Good zoom works very well for a day approaches and bright places Soledad excellent, but for low light if you need some accessories to give greater illumination to the area of ''shooting. Very light which allows for smooth loading and the quality of video and pass video to the computer is simple and makes working with the format and work with iMovie iFrame makes it very simple.

I was very excited (at first) reading the other reviews about this nicely valued, easy to use HD camcorder. In all fairness to this model, it is easy to use along with it's features. The main reason we don't like it, well read on please. I had thought it was going to fit my needs of making HD video recordings and then uploading some onto the internet. It was for certain websites so we can sell something. That was the biggest stumbling block of all. Getting the videos to upload onto the websites. As an experiment, we had tried uploading onto You Tube under private so we could see the HD video under our account. We kept getting an error message saying that the website could be busy OR our internet connection had failed which was untrue. And, that we should try again later. Which turned out to be the standard after several trys. This camcorder's going back. It's too much of a hassle for our uses. Perhaps just basic recording, watching HD videos on your HD monitor, or on the PC/Laptop monitor and burning DVD's is the best applications for this. I'm nothing of an expert on video making. The included software does a nice job ALL leading up to getting a video to share online and then our problems began. Oh well. BOTTOM LINE IS: Go directly to You Tube, IF that's your desire in putting your HD video access there, OR for other things (i.e. other web site access as well). Their's will facilitate getting it published online a lot faster and smoother than will the HD writer software.

Alright, so this is my first review ever, of anything. Today I received this camera and here are my initial impressions. This camera is small...and when I say small, I mean really really small. But as ladies always claim, small does not mean it is short on performance.

When it was received the battery was almost dying. A few (3-4) hours of charging brought back the life in the battery. It seems that the most of the controls are digital and can be operated through touch screen. However there are few controls that are both digital as well as manual. I think this is a nice feature. It seems that the hand strap might not hold for long, just does not seem to be sturdy enough.

As I indicated in the begining of this review, this are just my initial impressions. I plan to use the camera more in upcoming week and I will update this review, after that. - Panasonic'

Leather Banded

Bought this a few weeks ago and I'm mostly pleased with it. My one complaint is with the second hand sweep. Not as smooth as I hoped. My dad has a Rolex that cost him the same as this watch's list price (nominally $8000 as Amazon helpfully advertises) and the second sweep is flawless. Smooth as butter. Not so with the RS2.

I also note that Tag Heuer's very own Calibre 36 has a movement that is much smoother and aesthetically pleasing.

This snotty and admittedly petty expostulation aside, the watch is a very attractive time piece and keeps great time. Be warned that despite the titanium carbide coating, it is a very flashy watch and not as muted or understated as it may seem over the web. TAG Heuer Men's CAV518B.FC6237 Grand Carrera Automatic Chronograph Watch

I saw this watch on Amazon couple months ago and really like the black and red color combination. However, I just can't see myself buying a $5k watch without ever trying it on, especially on paper it is bigger than any watch I ever worn.

So I went to a department store but they only have a similar one but in stainless steel. Even the sales associate told me the watch is too big for my skinny wrist :( Oh well, but then I tried the titanium version last month and I know I HAVE to HAVE it. I am so glad Amazon has the one day shipping for free cause I would have just pay the extra just to have it on my hand ASAP!!!

Now I am a proud owner of this watch and absolutely love it! The black and red color combination really stands out and the weight is just right and feel very comfortable on my wrist.

It loses about 2 seconds a day but it is quite acceptable for an automatic watch. The glass has a little bit of a blue hue to it and the silver hour indicators give the watch a little bit of bling bling (that's what she said).

I finally did it.

Just an awesome watch. The only thing I don't like about it, is that if you don't wear it, it doesn't keep time for long. You will never have to buy a battery but you will need to get an automatic movement case to keep current time when not wearing it. Unless, you plan to wear it everyday.

This is the Ferrari of watches in my opinion.

This watch is hands down one of my personal favorite watches. The watch is very comfortable and the large face is very noticeable. I highly recommend this watch to anybody. I wish I had got it on amazon because I could have saved me a couple hundred dollars.'

I purchased the UN65D8000 in mid-July. Upon having the television mounted and installed (after testing that it worked), I watched it for about an hour. At some point in that time, the entire left half of the screen turned purple. I spoke with Samsung directly, as the item had a warranty. I called them at least 4 times, twice having it escalated, to no avail. Every time I received the same answer, "We have recorded your issue, and will have a partnering repair company contact you". Days go by, no call; over and over. Then finally I decide to contact their partnering repair company myself. But only after having them repair the television, return it, and having it not work again, did I get the explanation from the repair company of the procedure. Here it is: Basically the repair company has to call Samsung with the diagnosis, and Samsung determines what parts they are to use to repair it, and then they send them. Sounds fine, only that Samsung is trying to complete this warranty repair in the cheapest possible way. So, as much time as it takes going back and forth with repairs is what they are going to do. I bought a $5000 television, only to have 2 months go by without it working and no one seems to care. Samsung UN65D8000 65-Inch 1080p 240Hz 3D LED HDTV (Silver)

I understand there were a lot of people who thought they were buying a TV with the same bezel (the outside frame of the TV) as the 55" TV that came out before it. They were misled by Amazon's picture and possibly the CES information that had shown a smaller bezel. Apparently, from what I've found, Samsung decided the smaller frame couldn't support the size and went with an almost 2" brushed metal-looking frame. I have a "fleckstoned" gray wall and it disappears when the lights go down. Honestly, once past the cool factor of the small bezel is put aside, the TV really shines, in my humble opinion.

THE QUICK GOODS:

1. Awesome looking picture. Not too hard to get settings online to home calibrate it nicely.

2. Good 3D picture. Megamind is awesome on this. Also watched Sanctum, Tron, and Avatar. All good. The 2D to 3D is kinda cool too. Its not the pop-out you get with a 3D movie, but it does a nice job on the fly.

3. The Smart Hub is intriguing. There is a lot there. Other than Netflix, I haven't gotten too involved in it, but I can see potential.

4. The QWERTY keyboard on the backside is handy for trying to insert passwords and when using the net.

5. Multiple inputs are great.

THE QUICK BADS:

1. Flashlighting. The TV has it. It is apparent when the screen is all black. Fortunately, that is rare and 95% of the time, you don't detect it at all. I think this is overblown in some write-ups.

2. The web browser. It seems really slow- and I have it hooked up through a wired connection (faster than wireless). I can get to websites fairly quickly, but getting video to roll is another thing.

3. Soap opera look. Many had commented on this and I had no idea what it was. It is that video-like image that is almost too clear out of the box. I used some calibration settings I found at Cnet to get some better settings.

4. NO PAPER MANUAL. You pay this kind of money and you have to get the info through the TV or online? That is a bunch of BS.

5. The price itself. Man, I love the TV, but I just am not sure if it is $1500.00 better than the mid=priced sets.

Overall, I can clearly say this was a monster step up from the 55" Hitachi I had before. HD channels and especially Blu-ray look just stunning on the TV. Everything just pops. I feel many of the reviews here are focusing on the "bait and switch" they think happened because of the bezel. Fortunately, I did my research first and knew what I was getting.

There are plenty of ports in back and you should have plenty to get all of your stuff connected. If you really want to do it right, just run everything through a receiver and run one hdmi cable to the tv. If you choose to run multiple cables, you can even have different settings for each port. If you like your TV to pop, but want your movies to look more cinema-like, you can do that too.

Hanging the d8000 on the wall wasn't too hard. I did it myself, but I'd suggest a partner. I used a slim wall mount that tilts and it looks great.

EDIT UPDATE: Just am FYI, the flashlighting issue is becoming easier to recognize as time rolls on. Maybe I'm just seeing a lot of dark materials, but the screen is flashlighting like crazy.

Just purchased the UN65D8000(X-something-something). Noticed a flashlight-like spray of light coming up and to the left, from the bottom center of the screen. Also, some minor light-clouding around the rest of the border was visible. These annoying light effects were only visible when dark screen was shown. Used it for 8 days with no change in the abnormality. I called Samsung and their tech dept told me that, 'it is normal and it should dissipate and dissapear withing 2-3 weeks. After that, if it is still there, I can call back and they will send out a repair technition to repair free of charge.' I was suspicious of this diagnosis, as it seemed like BS.

It was enough of an annoyance that I returned the tv and exchanged it for a new one within my 2-weeks of purchase from the electronics store. I have had experiences before where a 'technician' or low-paid guy-with-a-logoed-polo-shirt comes to fix the device and you end up with more problems than when you started.

*The new TV also has flashlighting - but with less than before. Now, there is a small, brighter cloud in the center, midway up the screen. (again, only visible with homogenous, dark backgrounds).

From what I saw and heard, the Sony high-end (full-backlit) is better, but will cost a lot more and they might not have the large version out yet. This Samsung unit is a decent compromise.Pro's:

- Fantastic resolution and brightness - we tone down the color, saturation, brightness, and edge-lighting so our eyes don't get sun-burnt.

- Smooth subject movement when respective features are selected.

- Beautiful Frame/Bezel, it is understandable that such a large tv would have a larger support frame to avoid warpage.

- Lots of inputs and adjustments possible. Easy to hook up and view external photo and video devices.

- Quick powers up and syncs with other Samsung devices nicely.Con's:

- Flashlighting and clouding on dark backgrounds.

- Screen adjustment features are thrown around in a few spots within the menu hierarchy and are confusing to choose between.

- 'Soap-Opera effect', looks like you are watching reality TV when its a blockbuster movie. This could be something people new to HD have to get used to, not sure.

- Price (ouch).

- Haven't figured out how to auto-swivel the tv on the stand yet, maybe it's only manual?

- Detail in some very dark images is lost.. - Led - 65 Inch - 3d'

Kristen Stewart - horror, action

STRAYS (or DOORMEN as his script was initially titled) marks the entry of Vin Diesel (AKA Mark Sinclair Vincent) into the film world in a very small budget (under $50,000.), independent 1997 movie he wrote, directed and acted the major role. To appreciate this very realistic, modest, slice of New York life the film presents, it helps to watch the features added to the DVD (the film is released to the public for the first time): interviews with the cast and with Diesel give a sensitive and heartwarming background that enhances the movie experience. Though Diesel studied acting and worked in theater in New York prior to this film, it was not until he made his own film that he captured the attention of the people who make things happen. And now that Vin Diesel is a major Hollywood presence it is fascinating to see this initial opener.

The plot is simple enough: Rick (Diesel) is a minor drug dealer who also works as a bouncer with his buddy Tony (F. Valentino Morales), and hangs with Fred (Joey Dedio) and his 'brother' (Mike Epps, in his first role in film). The guys live mainly for easy sex and camaraderie - all of the have been raised by mothers without knowing their fathers (thus, are 'strays'). As Rick matures he grows tired of his shallow lifestyle, misses the connection with his mother he never developed, and is prime bait for a relationship. Into his life steps Heather (Suzanne Lanza), a wholesome Midwestern girl, the two have a mutual attraction, but as their courtship dance progresses Heather disapproves of Rick's at times gang-like behavior and his drug dealing. They come together in an extended park bench conversation (excellent writing) during which they realize they each have repairs to do on their previous lives before they can enter a serious relationship.

One aspect of this little film that makes it a cut above the many others like it is the quality of natural acting Diesel draws from his cast: uncredited female actors who provide the sex interest for the men are variably excellent, and Morales, Dedio and Lanza are particularly strong in their commitment to ensemble acting. The script is fairly strong, though the barrage of expletives becomes tiresome after a while. Yet in the end, Diesel establishes his skills as a serious actor and as a fine director and writer, and for the chance to see one of Hollywood's major talents in his nascent stage, this film is well worth watching. Grady Harp, January 08 Strays

Wow, this movie was better than I expected. I thought it was going to be all about drug dealing and street thugs with a little romance in the mix. But I found it to be a romance story with a little street life in the mix. I found the character of Rick (Vin Diesel) to be very vulnerable and needing something more in life. He just wants to be loved, truely loved. Not just for the way he looks or acts but for who he is when he stands alone. I think the story shows that Vin can really embrace the role of a character who is romantic, and I hope to see more of him in these type of roles. Overall a great life changing movie and I was still thinking about some of the lines several days after watching the movie, so watch and enjoy.

This is a must see for any true Vin fans out there. It truly shows him in a new light.

His life, up until this point has been about sex, drugs, women, and beer along with his 'brothers' and friend.

They all grew up with out their fathers in their lives and it seems that the only thing they have is each other.

"Rick" is the oldest of the group and it seems he's the only one that has some responsibility and vision for the future. He's ready to grow up and leave his slutty ways behind.

He wants to fall in love and he knows that after so many women in his bed, that's it's going to be hard to find a special woman because, they are too innocent and pure for someone like him to touch and bring down.

He's a low level drug dealer and he "Doesn't do this for a living" but for some extra cash... though they never show any of them doing a REAL job and they never tell you what that job is.

It's all lies, especially out of "Tony's" mouth. He'll say anything or do anything to hook up with a woman and he had no remorse. He finds it funny when he ends up catching something but Rick flips on him. Finally, well hopefully making the others in their group see the light.

This is a very gritty, dirty and crass film. It is not for the family. It is unrated but it is about an NC-17.

If you only want to see the sweet Pacifier side of Vin, then don't bother with this. If you want to see what it was like growing up in NY in the mid 90 for a bunch of go no-wheres. If you want to see the intelligence and seamless conversations, albeit vulgar conversations, between true friends then get this.

Vin has so much talent and only a small part of that is show here. He made this film with little more than 40 G's and I've seen million dollar films that make this one look like Oscar winning roles.

Brilliant and raw. And that "Making of" is nice to see. Vin looks truly happy and it's almost as long as the film itself.

Strays goes beyond simple entertainment and accomplishes what every great work of art sets out to accomplish. It elicits previously hidden emotions from its audience. It communicates in a subtle and elegant fashion while maintaining a clarity of truth that can not be denied. Often the elegance of our lives is misunderstood or simply overlooked by the harshness of reality. This movie embraces the bitter and often ugly truth while quietly revealing the beauty and fragility of the human experience. This movie changed my perspective on life and if that isn't the true definition of art then I don't know what is.

You can't just watch it once and expect to see or understand the subtleties. The art, the passion, the feel of this movie is layered in by excellent writing, acting and directing. It is not a slam it in your face action movie that speaks to an ignorant audience. Strays asks the audience to sit with it and give it room to breathe its life and message in its own time and its own fashion. Like a fine wine, taken too quickly in large gulps one misses everything that makes it special, makes it a masterpiece. Strays will resonate with a generation and will easily become a classic. - Horror - Action - Paul Walker - Adventure'

Having enjoyed my AE af-convertible for years, I decided to get the lagoon for a playboat. My first impression was--that's an annoyingly large carry bag--2 feet high, 3 feet long, and 5 inches thick; the handles are such that you have to keep your arm bent to keep it off the ground unless you shove it onto a shoulder. I refolded the boat so it's smaller and thicker and stuffed it into a duffle bag I had for much greater convenience.

Inflating and setup was quick and easy with a closed cell foam bottom replacing the usual ribbed, inflatable floor and saving some time though the inflatable coaming and seat added it back. Be sure to close the coaming twist-valves extra tight if you're using a sprayskirt or they might come open when you're working it into place, and you have several inches of height from the seat that you can take or leave by inflating it more or less.

The little boat was cramped and even with my short legs I had to jam the bottom of one foot against the side of the other and bend my knees slightly. I managed to stuff a winter jacket and a half-gallon jug of lemonade under and between my knees and that pretty much used all the inboard storage space. On calm water I stretch my legs out on the front deck and recline against the rear and get quite comfortable. My two sprayskirts were both hard to get stretched over the inflatable coaming and they come loose when I submerge the boat when surfing but can handle most splashing.

Handling was a reasonable trade-off between tracking and maneuverability, with the bow hunting from side to side with the paddlestrokes and requiring a weaker stroke for steady cruising but responding nicely to the strong turning and scooting strokes needed in rough water.

Speed was another trade-off for stability, the boat was very stable in some 2-foot swells on the river and I soon felt confident enough to take off my floatation vest and stick it under the deck bungees while enjoying bobbing and crashing through the standing waves, but speed suffered with that wide, teardrop shaped hull and I had to settle for a modest cruising speed.

The wind affects the lagoon quite a bit too and fighting a strong headwind with its slow cruising speed can leave you going nowhere.

After several river trips I was pretty happy with the boat but the tedious pulling apart, inflating, drying, reassembling, deflating and packing are still a major downside to these inflatables.

The lagoon is clearly best used as a playboat in whitewater or at least with moderate current to move you downstream and people who want to paddle around on still water should choose a more streamlined model. Advanced Elements Lagoon 1 Person Inflatable Kayak

I bought the Advanced Elements Dragonfly kayak 3 years ago and it is still going strong after lots of use. The Dragonfly is very similar to the Lagoon--the air chambers on the Lagoon are somewhat different. I bought the Lagoon for my husband who has recently started kayaking--he LOVES it. They are both very durable and an excellent choice for flat water kayaking. We are in out early 50's

and they are perfect for us. No lugging and tugging. No need for an expensive roof rack or a truck. If it wasn't for this lightweight kayak I would never go as often as I do. Believe me I had a heavy old plastic one and didn't enjoy it nearly this much! Thank you Advanced Elements! - Kayak'

Garmin Nuvi 350-360 Dc Charger

When I purchased a Nuvi 760 this item was shown as frequently purchased with it. Unfortunately it is not compatable and cost me to return as it was my error. Power connections were not visable so how is a person to know if the adapter will work with the GPS? Guess you learn the hard way. Garmin nüvi Vehicle Power Cable

So far, this charger has worked fine. Just want to clarify, though:

You don't need to order this separately, at least not if you order a Nuvi 350. The 350 comes with the car charger, AC charger, leather case, dash mount, and windshield mount. Don't order this unless you want two for some reason. Many of the accessories shown on the GPS unit product page are already included.

This accessory is part of the original package when you buy the Garmin Nuvi navigator. You also get the windshield mount, a leather envelope for the unit, and an AC charger. Don't buy any accessories at the time of purchasing the unit. I bought this knowing I wanted and needed it and ended up with two and had to pay for return postage when I returned it because it was "My Fault" I couldn't use it. You only need this if your original one wears out or if you want to have multiple vehicles completely equipped. The product itself is excellent and keeps the navigation unit power from being depleted while using in the car.

This adapter is actually better than the one that came with the GPS. Whereas the original adapter was somewhat flimsy; this one is more durable and the top does not come off in the power outlet. Great buy!!!

You do not need to buy this charger for the Nuvi 660. The 660 comes with a charger that connects through the mount adaptor, not directly to the 660. This works on a Nuvi 660 to supply power, but it will not charge the battery.

I purchased this item only because other reviews said it was necessary. The perceived problem was that the adapter included with the Nuvi 350 was not substantial and that it broke easily. In fact, this is the very same DC adapter that came with the unit. This accessory is not required.

This is the vehicle charger recommended on the amazon.com Garmin Nuvi 660 product page, but it is not the correct model for it. Get the Garmin vehicle charger (model # 010-10747-03) instead -- also available here at amazon.com through this link: Garmin 12-Volt Vehicle DC Power Adapter for the StreetPilot C510 and C550 (010-10747-03).

I had this as it came with my nuvi 350. Worked fine for a few months and then one day the plastic tip broke off. Appears the heat stress got to it and it breaks very easily. Friend with an identical unit did the same thing.

Fortunately mine was still under warranty and Garmin replaced it at no cost. The replacement appears to be MUCH better than original one. The tip is all metal now and not prone to breakage like the other one.

This product works perfectly well but I still wish I hadn't bought it. I couldn't tell from the Amazon description if the car power cable came with the Garmin Nuvi I was buying. So, I bought the Garmin AND a power cable separately. The cable came before the Garmin and I opened it. Then the Garmin came and there was a cable in the box.

Although my Garmin Nuvi 360 came with the vehicle power cable, I purchased this to keep in my second car. Now, I don't have to remember to take the cable from vehicle to vehicle. I find the extra cord to be a great convenience.'

Bathroom Design - bathroom, skw

Being in the home improvement business, I felt odd needing ideas when it came time to upgrade the bathrooms in my own home. Perhaps making a living building the bathroom of everyone elses dreams helped to fog the picture of what I wanted my own to be. Taunton Publishing puts out a trade magazine that I swear by. So when I decided to purchase a book on bathrooms I thought I couldnt go wrong with this one. How wrong I was. This book is little more than a collection of photographs of high end and ultra high end bathrooms. Here in my neck of the woods a complete bath renovation ranges in cost from between ten and fifteen thousand dollars for an average bath. Very few of the rooms displayed in this book would make that budget. Aside from the introduction there is almost no text to assist the "reader" in understanding requirements or even necessaties pryor to planning a bath remodel. Perhaps the fact that I am in this line of work colors my opinion of the book, but if photos qualify as ideas, Id recomend picking up a few magazines on bath remodeling and get a fuller picture. The Bathroom Idea Book (Idea Books)

This book is has a lot of photos of bathrooms. Very many styles and sizes of bathrooms are featured. Many different color/decor schemes are pictured. Many different fixtures, baths, showers, etc. can be seen on these pages. What I found most inspiring were the less traditional bathrooms (even some rather tiny ones) that really showed some creative design aspects. The text is rather average for this sort of book, basically it explains the many options that are available. It's nice to have this info in one place, but there were no radical insights. This book is chiefly a picture/idea book.I was very pleased that Universal Design got more than a nod by the author. Several baths featuring universal design principles were pictured and diagrammed! Being a wheelchair user myself, I wish more people who built homes thought even for a few minutes about incorporating a little universal design into their homes. I wish there were more bathroom plan examples. I wish there were more diagrams indicating possible and practical dimensions for standard bathroom layouts. There is no how-to install or remodel information in the book (but that's OK because it is supposed to be an "idea" book).I'm building a new house and I keep returning to this book to scan the pages for ideas, color schemes, etc. I just wish there was a bit more technical information to make some of the final design decisions easier. I had to consult other books and the internet on a number of issues before I made the final floor-plan layout decisions. So, if you want ideas, this book is a great(!) starting point. If you want more technical details you may need to look elsewhere.

We are building a new house and this is the best book I have found on bathrooms. It is full of great ideas for every one -- master suite, powder room, guest bath. I take it with me as I talk with builders and subs to show them what I want in the finished look. It has been very helpful.

I found this book to be very helpful, as we are currently in the midst of re-doing 3 bathrooms. For our large bathroom, we will incorporate a number of ideas that we hadn't thought of previously. This book is exactly what it claims to be - an "idea" book. There are tons of pictures, all beautifully photographed. I usually get this type of book out of the library, but I'm happy I invested in this one. It's definitely worth the money, and a wonderful reference guide.

An incredible amount of information with beautiful pictures of how to plan a new bath / shower OR how to update / remodel an existing bath....Hundreds of illustrations that can be incorporated into any bath depending on budget and desire...

I enjoyed this book and felt it did provide good information, contrary to other comments and I felt it was well worth the money.

My mother is remodeling her bathroom and it gave us good ideas of what she liked and didn't like. I do agree with another writer that many of the most beautiful bathroom photographs were of "high-end" bathrooms, but I believe most anything can be modified to fit within a budget. The book was useful in providing the bones from which to work. I mean if marble is too expensive or is not your thing, then maybe travertine would be a less expensive option. I thought the book provided good info on things like sink placement, vanity and cabinet styles, flooring and even toilet options and shower head choices.

The only slight negative, is that the book I read was published in 1999 and did include some older style bathrooms, but I would expect that in a book that was six years old, so I didn't count off for that...just because I'm late in reading it. :-)

There were lots of informative sections in the book. On page 80, it talks about some of the differences in fiberglass vs acrylic showers/tubs. On page 95, there is some discussion about low flush toilets.

To me, the book title indicates exactly what this book provides "Bathroom Ideas", and I think the author delivered.

Even though most of the pictures don't have much detail about how to construct a particular type of bathroom or what foundation needs to already be in place, this book is not called Bathroom Construction and Remodeling. I think this book does a great job at explaining what you are looking at and includes corresponding numbering on the text and pictures. I found this book very useful and it provided just what I was looking for....ideas.

The publish date is 2001, but I'd say most of the bathrooms featured were designed in the 80s or early 90s. In fact, about one quarter of them featured are actually worse than the bathroom in my house that I plan to demolish. If, for some reason, your goal is to creat a very high end 80's style bathroom, then this is the book for you. - Interior Design - Skw - Bathroom'

Kindle Lighted Leather Cover - kindle 3 covers, kindle accessory

I've noticed that like myself customers have been concerned primarily with two things regarding the new lighted case from amazon. These are: 1)The weight and 2) The uneven lighting. My review will briefly discuss these two things.

1)The Weight - The lighted leather case is a nice weight, sturdy and comfortable to hold. In ounces it is about the weight of the kindle itself however don't let that concern you. With the case on it feels like a medium sized paperback, however it is far much more comfortable to hold. It's easy to hold the case open like a book (nice for couch and table type reading) or to fold the front back and close it with the bungee so that the bungee doesn't hang around (this is good for bedtime reading).Closing the front back with bungee keeps the case folded in position and you don't have to worry about it bothering you. BTW THIS CASE FOLDS BACK 100% - Very comfortable. In sum very comfortable to read with the case and very sturdy.

2) The uneven lighting - Amazon's pictures don't do this case justice. The light hits the ENTIRE screen. Yes if you look closely it's brighter in the top right corner then in the bottom left but Amazon's pics make it look the top is lighted while the bottom is dark. There is good light all over the screen. Trust me I'm fussy about these things - the lighting will not bother you, your entire screen will be lighted and it is extremely pleasant to read in the dark.

*Final Thoughts - Great case, good quality, works well, kindle feels very secure and protected (I would feel comfortable slipping this case into my backpack or suitcase and I think it would sustain some mild impact). Lastly hinges are a non-issue, casing of the kindle will not get damaged with normal or even slightly aggressive use. You could damage the kindle by trying to pull the back of the case but you'd have to really force it to cause any sort of damage to your kindle. The hinges work fine and should not be a concern to any case user.

Update 1st December 2010:

Have now been using the case for 3 months. Leather still looks impeccable. Some people expressed concern that the bungee cord might loosen with use. I have not experienced any loosening so far. Quality of the product has proven outstanding. I've occasionally spilled or messed the cover, just a wipe with a damp cloth has cleaned it up, and the case looks like new. Have to admit I enjoy the feel of the case in my hand, there's just something great about taking your kindle to a coffee shop in this case, it just looks and feels so classy. Also with regard to the hinges: I have had no scratches on my kindle or any other issues, so I remain convinced that the hinges are a non issue. Kindle Lighted Leather Cover, Black (Fits 6" Display, Latest Generation Kindle)

I was hesitant to buy this cover mostly due to the pictures in its listing, which seem to show a light that doesn't even extend to the opposite corner. The fact that I have not been impressed with the Amazon's Kindle covers in the past didn't help. I went ahead and purchased it because the cover I wanted isn't available yet and I don't like to take my Kindle out and about without a cover. Now I am glad that I went ahead and bought it.

PROS:

1. The light is much better than I thought it would be. Using it in a darkened room I found that the light did the job very well. In a pitch black room, it performs even better. While the screen corner opposite the light is a bit dimmer than other areas, there is no problem reading the page at all.

2. The light gets its power from the Kindle itself, through the gold-plated hinges which attach it to the cover, so batteries are a thing of the past. When your Kindle goes to sleep, the light will go out as well. It will also turn off when you slide it back into the case.

3. The cover is slim, well-fitted and very easy to attach and detach using the hinges. The inside has good padding. The leather outer surface has a nice pebbled texture with the exception of a smooth area along the edge of the front. While stiff enough to protect the reader, the cover is slight flexible and the front easily folds behind when reading so you can hold your Kindle with one hand if you like.

4. A great plus is that the cover has an elastic cord that fits into a groove on the front of it. This holds your cover closed (unlike the original Kindle 2 cover that would flop open in your purse & let things slide into it) and easily distinguishes the front from the back--important as many owners of the Kindle 2 cover accidentally opened it from the back, which could cause cracking along the Kindle's spine.

CONS:

I haven't found any, really. The light Is a bit hard (stiff) to pull out of the cover, but then you wouldn't want it to be flopping out when you don't want to use it so that is more of a Pro than a Con.

The one concern I do have is about pulling the light in and out--I wonder if whatever wiring or conductor that is used to get the power from the hinges to the light will eventually break. But that is something to find out down the road. Right now, the more I use this cover, the more I like it.

I've been an avid Kindle user since Kindle 1, and I take my lights VERY seriously.

The problem is that the new Kindle 3 cover+light does not evenly light the screen. This results in a very bright top right corner, including the top right of the frame of the Kindle 3. And while the light doesn't glare off the screen, it does glare off my graphite Kindle 3's top right corner, making for constant distraction while reading. The light then gets fainter and fainter in a diagonal line from the top right to bottom left. It's not very fun, unfortunately.

Now, for convenience, this new cover is fantastic. I have the non-lighted one and the one with the light, and the weight difference isn't very much, and the bulk difference is truly negligible, so kudos to Amazon for this.

That said, I simply cannot recommend this cover unless you don't mind an incredibly uneven light. I will stick to my Mighty Bright. Yes, it's an addition to the Kindle, but I know that when I sit down to read, I want the pages to "disappear" as I become immersed in my reading. It's very hard for them to do so when the light is so incredibly awkward and uneven, constantly distracting. I'm happy to spend a few extra seconds clipping my light to the back of my Kindle so I can spend hours enjoying my book. That simply wasn't possible with the Kindle Lighted Leather Cover.

3 stars out of 5. - Book Light - Kindle Lighted Cover - Kindle Accessory - Kindle 3 Covers'

Beautiful Gift - pashmina wrap, scarves

First of all, the price is too high for the poor quality. The color I bought was eggplant. When I received it was more like a lavender color. Walking on the streets of NYC I found the same shawl in the same package for "$4.99" I couldn't believe it. Never Again would I buy from this seller. What a rip off!!!!! 78" x 28" Silky Soft Solid Pashmina Shawl / Wrap / Stole - Black

I bought the Kelly Green and the Royal Blue. Both are well represented, as far as the color. The Kelly Green might be SLIGHTLY brighter than the picture (not lime green, though), but both are very vibrant colors. I LOVE the colors! The quality is o.k., but what do you expect for this low price? For really high quality Pashmina wraps, you will pay $40+. I own one, and it's nice, but I can't spend that much on Christmas gifts. ;) This wrap has a nice sheen, and it feels smooth, but it doesn't look smooth. It looks kind of "ribbed". The thing I really don't like about it is the glued/taped on (not really sure) "Pashmina" tag. If it was sewed on, it would be nicer. They aren't even glued on straight. You can pull it off, but then sticky stuff is still on there. I'm sure it will come off eventually. The tag is just kind of annoying, as it is large and not on the edge. I bought these as gifts, but I'm not sure I'll give them as gifts. I might just keep them myself. I also bought some wraps from Olive & Figs, and I liked those a bit better (the tag was sewed on the edge). I paid less for them, and they threw in a scarf with my wrap! Those will make great gifts! I liked these colors, though, which is why I purchased these.

I bought this shawl to take on a cruise to add a pop of color to my grey and black dresses at dinner. This shawl also offered some warmth in the chilly restaurant and for those strolls around the deck at night.

The color I ordered was a true representation of the picture (Olive Green). I was not impressed by the feel of the fabric, but it will work for what I need. As I needed this item on short notice and could not spend time shopping around I brought it, but I strongly recommend that you shop around and will have the same shawl for better value elsewhere.

However, with your prime shipping, this item can be on your door step within 2 days! (But I think the shipping cost must be included in the price :) )

ordered ivory colored product -- should have ordered black/brown, I guess ... item was beautiful, as displayed in plastic shrink wrapped packaging ... person receiving gift item, carefully removed product from shrink wrap ... to see multiple black oil/glue spots ... poor overseas manufacturing Quality Control ... very disappointed/had to return item ... awaiting Huge refund/compensation for not meeting expectations!

The shawl really is lovely- I love the feel of the fabric. I ordered it in yellow, and the only thing is it is MUCH brighter than it shows in the picture! But, in all fairness, the color IS called "bright" yellow. :) I ordered this as a potential bridesmaids gift, and I think I will be ordering 4 more. The brightness is really pretty, and the quality is good for the price.

I think these are fantastic for the price! They are soft and warm and have a subtle shine to them that really brings out the color and texture. I ordered the teal and the black and would absolutely order more. - Shawl - Pashmina Wrap - Scarves - Pashmina'

Belkin cables are the best! They have big, easy to use screws for clumsy fingers like mine, and they have a nice, professional look and feel. I use Belkin cables exclusively, when I can get them. With my setup I have my printer and a zip drive running off the same cable, and since I bought this Belkin cable I havent had any problems. It is also very easy to screw and un-screw onto the computer as it has different knobs than the standard printer cable. - Rs232'
