Ipad 2 Smart Cover Enhancer

I'm a relatively new iPad 2 owner, and I've recently been looking for cases that are both functional and nice-looking. I've decided after using this case that it is a very nice alternative to the Apple SmartCover. The downside to the cover is that, well, it's not really a case, so it can't completely protect the iPad. This case is nice because it protects the backside from scratches (although I doubt that it would protect very well from drops). The case fits the iPad 2 snugly, and the outside is soft and pleasant to the touch. The case closes securely due to the magnets embedded to the front, and the iPad automatically wakes up when the cover is opened (sleeps automatically as well when the cover is closed). There's no special design to the outside of the case, but it looks sleek and simple. I also own the Scosche hard leather case. The upside to that compared to this case is that it is able to offer multiple viewing angles. This one is restricted to two viewing positions. I would strongly recommend getting this case.

UPDATE:

After using this case for a couple of days, I realized that the magnets emobedded into the cover are actually weaker than that found in the Apple SmartCover. I guess that's a bit of a con, but it still works solidly (sorry about my slow observation). With enough force, the cover can flap out by itself due to the weak magnets, but I don't imagine myself holding the case in such a way so it's not too big of a problem. Acase(TM) iPad 2 EZ-Carry Polyurethane Case (ULTRA SLIM) Folio Stand for Apple iPad 2 2nd Generation WiFi / 3G Model 16GB, 32GB, 64GB NEWEST MODEL (Black)

The case is very slim and form fitting. It's a soft case, so it's more like an envelope than a case really. There are parts around the edges that crinkle slightly, but nothing too drastic. It's similar in Apple's smart cover in form/function. I don't regret the purchase for approx $25.

My single biggest complaint is that the cover's magnet is WEAK. If you use the cover as a stand for any extended period of time, the cover's edge will not snap shut or stay shut immediately. Usually I remedy this by putting the thing face down or weighing it down with a book. The other complaint is the speaker opening. In order to keep the fit tight, the case uses a perforated opening for the speaker which reduces the volume significantly.

I have received this case + smart cover within a short time after purchasing. I'm satisfied with this product. The material is the same as the original apple iPad case with additional smart cover of iPad2. Now I don't need to worry about protecting the iPad2 body anymore. With this case, my iPad2 looks slim and elegant. I would recommend for every iPad2 owner.

This case is as close as you can get to the 1st Gen iPad Apple Case. The polyurethane is almost exactly the same material and feel as the original Apple case. The magnets also wake/sleep the iPad 2 with no issues. All hole are cut and aligned very nicely. This is an excellent choice for anyone that loved the 1st Gen iPad Apple Case!!!

I bought this case for my white iPad 2. It came in a envelop - the case plus and touch screen cleaning cloth. I inserted my iPad 2 into the case and it fits very nicely into the case.

Pros:

- Exact fit

- Same function as Apple smart cover.

- Good value - comparing to $39 Apple smart cover.

- Light weight

- Good quality

Cons:

- Only one color available and someone else may prefer a different case color for white iPad 2

I love my iPad 1 case from Apple, so I was very happy to see this offered for the iPad 2. The material feels much like the original and the iPad fits snugly. The front does cover the home button a bit and the light sensor, but so far that does not bother me too much. I'll have to play with it more, but so far, it works well for me.

This iPad 2 case works great. Looks just like the apple iPad 1 case. I love it. Ctcstore shipped this fast and the case arrived 3 days before they said it would. Money well spent. Don't listen to these 1 star reviews, they never rate the case itself. Buy this and you will love.......'

Xbox 360 Controller - xbox 360 controller, pc controller

The Xbox 360 controller is just wonderful, the best console controller I've ever held in fact.

Be aware of the fact that this is the EXACT same product as the wired 360 console controller, so if that one is cheaper, buy it! The only difference is the package (this one is uglier...) and you don't get the software CD...but you can download the latest software package at MS website.

Microsoft making this controller cross compatible is actually a pretty big deal as there may finally be a level of standardization for PC controllers, if most people begin using this controller is makes it far easier on game developers to know what interface gamers are using. In fact, many games are coming with a 360 control scheme pre-installed, just as Need For Speed Most Wanted. Microsoft Xbox 360 Controller for Windows - White

Seems to work with games that will support other gamepads. I have Vista 64 and Microsoft has drivers for it on their website.

THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH SOUND - PLUG IT IN AND I LOST SOUND IN MY SPEAKERS (my mobo is a Gigabyte DS3)

No support anywhere on the microsoft website or internet on this, and I saw a frazzled previous reviewer... so here's the fix:

The controller has an integrated headset feature (you can buy seperately), but your pc may (like mine did) see the controller as a Controller AND a "headset." It automatically enabled the "headset" (thus disabling my speakers).

Go to Control Panel > Sound

You'll see it as a microsoft headset device enabled -- disable this "headset". Then your speakers should come back on. This does not interfere with the joystick at all.

Enjoy!

This is the best possible controller for the PC that I have found thus far. I have tried many controllers that are similar to the PS2 design, but they all lacked decent button recoiling, easy to push buttons, and slimness. All other controllers I have tried are too bulky and after ~30 mins. my hand begins to get tired. I have played one game with it so far (Winning Eleven 9) and it works perfectly. No lag, comfortable feel, and the buttons are easy to use especially for a fast sports game like soccer. Obviously, if you've used the wired regular XBOX 360 controller you know this is the same thing with different packaging (and an install CD). I highly recommend it!

I really love this controller. The spacing of the buttons and sticks feels just right for my hands. That being said, I would warn you that it is a battle in itself to get it to work with anything. Of all my games with native gamepad support, only Halo could get the controller to work right away. The recurring problem that I expierenced was that games would recognize the trigger axis and think that it is the right thumbstick. If you want the vibrate function to work, you will need either Xpadder or the XBCD driver; both are free, but frustrating to set up. I had a very difficult time getting XBCD to work on my Vista machine, but it works easily on XP. Microsoft should have thought ahead and released a profiler with their controller.

If I had known about all trouble it is to set up this controller, I still would get it because the gameplay experience is greatly expanded. Feeling the controller rumble while stomping a Sniffer in Silent Hill 4: The Room or feeling the character's heart beat faster and faster in Indigo Prophecy draws me into the game much more than with the keyboard and mouse.

This controller is great, and I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a gamepad. You might have to go online for help, but it's worth it. If you are going to get a 360 controller, I recommend buying the regular one, not the one for Windows. It costs a few dollars less, and they are the exact same thing, the CD notwithstanding, and you can download the exact same drivers from Microsoft.com. Also, if you choose to use the XBCD drivers, you will not even use the drivers that come on the CD.

All right let me give a short review about this controller, and I hope it will help other buddies a little bit.

First, not every game supports controller, not only this one, but also others. If the game you are playing supports controllers. You just need to go to control option to set as you wish. BUT most of the PC games do not support controllers. In this case, you will need Xpadder, please google it.

You can set the keys on your controller based on those on your keyboard, one to one, accordingly. You can also set it shaking if you want.

I already beat Call of Duty World at War using this controller, and now I am playing The Witcher. Both of these two games do not support controllers, but it is not a big deal. By using Xpadder, its not gonna be a problem to worry about.

Another thing about Xpadder:

Like RPG, you have a lot of shortcuts on your keyboard so you can drink your potions more quickly or sth. The problem is your controller does not have enough keys to hold all of this keys on your keyboard. By using Xpadder, you can set some "Function Keys" , that's what I call it.

While setting your controller, you can save two or more keys to be used as function keys. I chose LB and RB, and then just set these two keys. Click this key in Xpadder, and then click Advanced, and then click Set Selector, and then choose Select Set 2 while held, and then go to Set 2 and set other functions. So you lose two keys to use (LB and RB), but while holding LB or RB, your controller would go to another Set so actually you would have access to more functions. Take me, now when I am holding LB, XYAB would become my shortcuts to access to potions, and RB they would become the shortcuts to change my weapon. I was just grand when I found this way and couldn't wait to share it. - Game Controller - Pc Controller - 360 Controller - Xbox 360 Controller'

Laptop Batteries - apple, battery

The product page says "one year warranty," and the battery failed (overheated, swelled up, and warped my Macbook) after just eight months. There's no way to contact either seller or manufacturer, though, even after contacting Amazon about it, so, after a runaround, I'm stuck waiting for a refund from Amazon that won't be processed until they receive the battery. I'll have to make a trip to the Apple store tomorrow to buy a new battery just to get up and running in the meantime. I won't be buying any more "fulfilled by Amazon" products; it's too much of a crapshoot, when they won't help customers get in touch with the sellers. Laptop Battery for Apple A1185 Macbook Pro 13" Series, Ma561g/a, Ma561ll/a (White)

it doesn't show the correct charge in the battery life monitors, i though it wasnt holding more than 5% of energy... but then I left it running with the charger cable unplugged and it did spend 2:30 hours to went off.. so, it is holding a little charge but it doesn't monitor it... tricky thing..

I was originally pleased with this battery until 2 weeks ago it refused to charge. Since then I have had to keep my cable plugged in to be able to use my mac. I have looked for a customer service email for this company and haven't found one. The product indicates that there is a 1 year warranty but if there isn't contact information what are you suppose to do? It would be nice if someone from this company would contact me. Thanks.

So it charged up a little ONCE, and then never again, so basically whatever charge it had in it, was pretty much all it ever had. i used it on the battery for a few minutes because I wanted to see how fast it charged up, and now it's not charging. At least my computer recognized it. i wish i had gotten an apple battery, would have been worth it.

I bought this as a replacement for my original MacBook battery which died after 3 years. I tried to save some money and not buy a genuine Apple Battery, what a waste of time. This one worked great for about a week, then this morning I tried to charge the drained battery but it wouldn't charge. I tried to restart the laptop a couple of times and it just kept saying battery not charging with the green light on my charger connector. I am returning it today. I won't waste my time with these off-brand batteries anymore. I'll have to bite the bullet and spend the big bucks for an Apple product.

Ordered this battery as a replacement for the original that had given up after 2 years. New battery was an exact match. Charged battery overnight and has been working great. I've only been using it for a little over a month but so far no problems. - White - Macbook - Apple - Battery'

Ipad Case - app store, ebook

For anyone out there who is considering whether or not to make the leap and purchase the iPad 2, this review is for you. If you're still debating between the iPad 1 and the iPad 2 check out my review of the first generation iPad right here on Amazon to see a discussion of its strengths and weaknesses with a number of people commenting (both positively and negatively) over the past 11 months.

Let me begin by saying this upfront, I don't work for Apple, I don't own Apple Stock, and whether you buy an iPad, Xoom, a laptop or a pad of paper and pencil I don't get anything for writing this. I'm not an Apple "fanboy" although I can give credit where credit is due and lately Apple has deserved a lot of credit for some of their products.

Physical Characteristics

The iPad 2 is absurdly thin. More importantly than it's thinness is its tapered edge which feels more natural in your hand. One of the biggest complaints about the original iPad was it really wasn't tremendously comfortable to hold for long periods at a time. For a tablet device designed to be held, that's a pretty big deal. Apple really has done an amazing job of cramming everything into an even smaller space than before and the difference is really noticeable when you're holding the device. In addition to the tapered edge, Apple managed to reduce the overall weight of the iPad 2. That might not seem like a huge deal to most, especially when you consider the weight difference isn't tremendous when you're already under 2 pounds, but I spend a good part of my day holding the iPad in my hands and the weight difference is surprising by the end of the day. The first generation isn't heavy by any means, but the iPad 2 outshines it.

New and "Improved"

Apple doubled the RAM in the iPad 2 from 256MB to 512MB. What does that mean? For most casual users, probably not a whole lot. There is a performance bump that everyone will see the effects of in things like loading times for webpages that are open in the background, but 256MB was sufficient for most daily use and games. If you're planning to use your device for some of the more graphically intense games the iPad 2 does offer a better method of graphics processing that'll help deliver faster images with fewer jerky movements. If you're just playing Angry birds and reading e-mail you're not going to know the difference.

The screen is the same for all real purposes. It is technically a "new" part in that it isn't identical to the old, it's a bit thinner and more efficient, but it's the same resolution. The Glass is thinner though, and this amounts to a fair bit of the weight loss from one generation to the next. In playing with the device it seems surprising but despite feeling lighter it actually feels more sturdy in your hands. I still wouldn't suggest dropping it, but if it were to fall the iPad 2 certainly feels like it might stand a better chance to survive. Try not to drop it though.

The addition of 2 cameras was expected. Some were a bit surprised to see the first generation released without the cameras. Whether it was for a price point consideration, or a means to get people to upgrade, Apple held off until iPad 2. The cameras do a reasonable job, but they're not going to replace a dedicated digital camera, or really even the camera on your phone for most still images. The cameras do a substantially better job with video, and FaceTime is probably one of the best reasons to get the iPad 2 over the original iPad. For those who might not be familiar, FaceTime is Apple's face to face conferencing system, kind of like Skype, or if you'd rather, kind of like the Jetson's TV/Phone. With the push of a button you can be having a face to face chat with a loved one just about anywhere in the world (provided they're on a wireless network at the time). FaceTime doesn't work over 3G natively (it can be used over a wifi connection created by a 3G device however) so you're not going to be able to use it in your car anytime soon. This is probably a good thing though. It is incredibly easy to use and if you know other people with an iPad 2, iPhone 4, or Mac it's a lot of fun.

Smart Covers aren't really "smart" but they're really very useful. Not only do they provide a stylistic enhancement of the device, but they serve a practical and functional purpose of doubling as a screen protector and stand in 2 configurations. You can find them in a variety of colors and from third market suppliers, and it's a safe bet that more will be out soon to capitalize on the magnetic sensors in the iPad 2. It's unfortunate that this same feature can't somehow be retrofitted to the iPad 1, I wouldn't have thought a case would be a compelling reason to consider a product over it's competitor, but these covers are really so useful it's hard to understand why they've not been there since the beginning.

Multitasking Support

One of the biggest knocks against the iPad when first released was the lack of native multi-tasking support. Jailbreakers added the feature quickly and Apple soon realized it would be a requirement for any future device's success and released an OS update that included the feature. The iPad 2 capitalizes on that progress and takes it a step further with the increased RAM enabling more open applications to be suspended at once, and the time to open or close an application has improved as well. That said, even the first generation managed to open and close apps faster than most people would be used to on their computers, so while this is an improvement it's more akin to showing off.

Apps

One thing that Apple has clearly the advantage in for the moment is app availability. The App store has close to 70,000 iPad specific Apps, all of which will work on the iPad 2. The new cameras will undoubtedly see this list expand rapidly, as will the inclusion of a gyroscope for gaming and motion based uses. There are also a substantial number of professional applications ranging from document creation to photo editing and vector drawing. Chances are if you can dream it, there's an App for that (and if not you might want to get started on one to fill in the gap). The Android market is making a strong showing, and ultimately it'll likely be a strong competitor, for now it still has a ways to go, but any potential buyer should consider the strength of the application market before buying a tablet.

Pros:

Weight. Seriously. The minimal weight of this thing is by far the most impressive feature about it in my opinion. It seems to defy physics and logic that so much could be in such a small space working that hard for that long.

Battery Life. From full to dead my iPad 2 went just over 11 hours with the movie Robin Hood showing twice during that time, the screen at half brightness, wifi turned on, an Angry Birds marathon and a good portion of a book in ibook. That's better than a work day and that's constantly on.

Books. This is definitely a Pro, but reading itself could go either way. The great benefit to the iPad is having access to Google Books, ibook, Nook, and Kindle. This allows for some comparison shopping and price competition (although for the most part they're all usually about the same). Reading in the evenings in bed is great as the back light means you don't have to worry about keeping others awake, but the glass screen causes some glare trouble when trying to read outside or near a sunny window. If you're an avid outdoor reader the Kindle might still be your best bet.

Cons:

Still no dedicated USB support. While there is a camera add-on that allows for certain USB devices to be used there is no option for mass storage. Some of the Android Tablets allow for this and if you find yourself wanting to use your tablet as a standalone storage device this might be something to consider. The device can read from certain flash drives though, but is largely limited to photo and video files. Jailbreaks offer solutions to this, but those come with their own issues as well.

Still no dedicated SD card slot. This is troublesome on two fronts. First, if you want to import pictures from your camera you have to have an adapter which is just one more thing to carry around. Second, the lack of expansion means you're limited to what you purchase in terms of storage. I purchased a 32GB iPad last time and never filled it up completely, so for me capacity wasn't an issue. If you want to be able to have your entire movie collection with you though... you may want to consider whether the iPad 2 can meet your space requirements.

HDMI output. Really this is a Pro and a Con. The iPad does allow for HD output over HDMI but again it requires an adapter. All of these adapters are additional purchases for features that some tablets offer built in. This can be a pain, but then again if you're not likely to ever use HDMI Output then you're not paying for something you won't use.

No Flash Support. This is becoming less and less of an issue as the internet and web developers are moving away from Flash for many websites, but there are a lot still out there relying on Adobe's Flash to run properly (including a lot of web based games). Before you pick a tablet consider what kind of websites you frequent and try and determine if they are Flash driven or not. If they are you may really want to consider something from the Android offerings as it is expected that they'll have at least some Flash support.

If you're in the market for a tablet device the iPad 2 should definitely be on your short list. If you're uncertain it is always best to go and play with these things hands on first if you can. Best Buy is a good place for that, so are Verizon Stores since they have the Xoom and 3G iPad. Don't get pulled into the hype and mania that comes with an Apple release. They're exciting and new, and they're impressive enough to warrant some excitement, but it will die down and there will be other products that prove a strong competitor to the iPad 2. If you're looking for right now though, this is probably your best bet. I gave the device 4 stars, as I did the iPad 1. I did this in contemplation of the features offered by competitors that are absent from the iPad, most notably the requirement for adapters for USB/SD/HDMI. While these features are there, they aren't as convenient as in other tablets. With that in mind I firmly believe that the iPad more than makes up for this in usability, reliability, and design and in those areas far exceeds its current competitors. Ipad Stylus - stylus, griffin

Away on a conference, it turned out that I had forgotten my stylus (a Pogo, which I'd selected after trying a number of styluses), so grudgingly I bought a new specimen - this Griffin stylus. I could not believe what an improvement it was. Although I was certainly not unhappy with the pogo stick, it sometimes had the habit of not picking up my input, and the writing (I mainly use the stylus to make notes on my iPad with Penultimate) was not always what it ought to be. This is so much better. It is slightly heavier (we'te talking grams, though) but that makes it a better rather than a worse writing implement. More importantly, it allows you to draw much thinner lines than the pogo did. The best of the bunch, AFAIC. Griffin Technology Stylus for iPad, iPod touch, iPhone and other touchscreens

I had previously purchased a $5-6 stylus on Amazon and was supremely disappointed with the quality, and it just wouldn't work properly on my iPad. This Griffin stylus on the other hand is of great quality and works MUCH better on my iPad. Nice rounded tip with rolls easily on the screen, and I have never had any incorrect spelling entries so far on my screen. Nice stylish product that works better than expected. Recommended for sure!

This is the best very drawing stylus made for the iPad. The size, pressure, conductivity and heft are just right. If only the little hoe at the top had been larger I might have been able to put it on a chain and not lose it! Guess I'll order a another and a backup.

The Griffin Technology Stylus for iPad, iPod touch, and iPhone is an excellent stylus. After about one week of research (reading reviews, etc.) I finally ordered this stylus and I have not been disappointed. I frequently use this stylus in lectures in higher education mathematics courses with an iPad. More recently, I began using my iPad with this stylus to start taking notes in meetings rather than keeping track of paper notes.

Pros:

1. Lightweight but solid feel to the body of the stylus. So far, I've had no hand fatigue due to heaviness nor have I felt that I could break it!

2. Easily recognized handwriting when using apps for annotation (such as Note Taker HD or Air Sketch). Hint: if the app has a "zoom" feature, I use this to zoom in on the file or note that I want to write upon. For Note Taker HD, I have found that "Edit 1" is excellent.

3. The clip, which I at first thought was dorky, allows me to put the stylus in either my breast or pants pocket so I can find it easily.

4. Flexible (rounded) tip seems durable. This is in direct contradiction to what most people say about the Ten One Design Pogo Sketch stylus for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch (Cactus Green). I read several reviews about the degradation of the tip on the Pogo Sketch. I've had this stylus for well over one month now with no signs of wear.

5. After having received this stylus, it looks almost identical to the BoxWave Capacitive iPad Stylus (Jet Black) which gets excellent reviews. The Griffin doesn't come with the tether, but I cannot imagine using it. After some more looking around, it also looks like the Targus Stylus for Apple iPad 16GB, 32GB, 64GB WiFi + 3G, iPad 2, iPhone, iPod, Tablet AMM01US (Black) and the Acase Capacitive Stylus for Apple iPad 16GB, 32GB, 64GB WiFi + 3G, iPad 2, iPhone, iPod, Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy, BlackBerry Playbook (Jet Black). I originally paid less for this stylus than its current list price, so it seems that its quality has been recognized.

Cons:

1. The rubber tip will pick up skin oils/sweat (i.e., from an accidental forehead grazing while touching head). I think that this is more of a problem with the fact that the tip is rubber-esque and not so much a lack of foresight on the manufacturer. Just a necessary evil of writing on a tablet with a stylus.

2. I wish it were a little longer. This a personal preference and by no means hinders the use of the stylus.

As you can see, my "Pros" list is far longer than my "Cons". This is an excellent product and a worthwhile purchase.

Based entirely on Griffin's reputation, I ordered this stylus direct from their site, even before Amazon listed it, just after it became available. I knew nothing about it other than the Griffin name, but I've been completely happy with it since.

I hadn't tried many other styli, but the ones I had tried have left me exasperated and frustrated so quickly, I discarded them within the first on or two days of trying to use them. But Griffin's stylus is different. It works. It works so well, I forget all the difficulty I used to have in trying to use a stylus instead of my finger. Unlike some defective products, the Griffin does not require so much pressure it defeats the purpose. Some styli work better [I won't say "well"] for iPad but not so much for iPhone, and some are the opposite. The Griffin stylus works equally well on both my iPhone 4 and my iPad 3G.

If there was anything that needed to be changed about this stylus, it is only the thickness of the barrel. Some may also find the length a bit lacking. I suspect that both are necessary in order to promote conductivity from the hand through the stylus to the device screen, and attempts at making them larger have likely been unsuccessful. I believe, though, that before long, that barrier will be broken and this 99/100 rating will be revised.

In the meantime, do not hesitate to purchase the most impressive stylus available. - Stylus - Griffin - Ipad - Touch Screen Stylus'

Back Support - comfortable, air bed

My, almost 300 lb football player, son used this for 3 weeks after having an operation. It was easier for him to be in the living room, than his room; but the pullout couch was just not an option, not comfortable for someone his size. Put this mattress on pullout and it worked great. He said it was very comfortable and it was easy to put away and blow up ( took less than 5 minutes for either). My daughter then took it camping and loved it. I was able to fold it and put in original box to store away. Good deal, good mattress. Intex Queen Prestige Downy Airbed with Hand Held Battery Pump

Airbed is great. Easy to inflate with the hand held battery operated pump. Small enough to take in a kayak for camping. Great on comfort. Amazon service superb. The original pump did not work. I sent e-mail to Amazon on Thursday afternoon. Immediately got a return slip. I mailed it at 4:30 p.m. By 9:50 a.m. the next morning, A UPS truck pulled by our house and delivered a replacement. This was 5 minutes before we left to catch the Alaska Ferry. Great timing, outstanding service.

This bed was bought for 2 adults to sleep on for 5 days while camping. It worked very well, better than I expected. We did have to re-inflate it some after about 4 days. Besides that, though, it held up very well.

The mattress was put directly on a concrete floor, but didn't pop or even get a scratch. It was used as a bench/sofa during the day, and only needed reinflating once. We didn't roll towards the middle of the mattress, either, because of the inner coils. It was also comfortable, as far as airbeds go.

The pump that comes with this worked out just fine for us, and its fast. It pumped it up enough to feel like a firm mattress. It only took a couple of minutes. It does need batteries, though. We had even brought a manual mattress pump along, because others suggested this pump was bad, but didn't need it.

The biggest trouble I had with this was putting it back in the box when we were through with it. I didn't use the pump to get the air out, though it does have the option. I found it easier just to fold it up and release the air out of it as I went.

You'll definetely need 2 people to set it up, and to un-inflate it. I would suggest this airbed to anyone, whether your needs be back support, comfort, or something to hold up for the kids.

I didnt get to sleep on this one because we bought a queen and a king. But I did fill it with air and take the air out and fold it up and so forth. It was super easy and fast, it maintained air even got wet when the tent leaked from a severe downpour and was very easy to dry right off. My other half seemed to have slept quite well on it I didnt hear any complaints. It also folded up quite nicely and small. The pump I love. It works for both of the mattresses with have and it deflates them as well. Its super easy to use and works for all air mattresses I believe. Would totally reccommend this.

No matter the price or brand, I seem to have no luck with air mattresses. They end up with slow leaks, and sometimes with fast ones. I am lucky to survive a camping trip or music festival without spending the last night lying right on the ground. I ordered this one for the Bonnaroo music festival and crossed my fingers. I am very surprised and pleased! I only had to add air to this mattress one of the four nights that we camped there. Two adults (one who is 6'5") slept on it and we never got a leak, and we found it quite comfortable. The pump was great - worked well and fit the mattress (and my friend's other brand mattress) nicely. The lock/air flow part is a bit weird and wonky, but once you get the hang of it, it works really well and does a great job of locking in the air. A very basic air mattress, but a very sturdy and reliable one! Far better than ones I have bought for twice the price!

My husband bought a queen-sized air mattress at Dicks and spent $40+ dollars. I bought this one based on the reviews and price and we had the opportunity to test them both out this past weekend. Well, guess what - my little inexpensive Intex held up better than the one he bought at Dicks for 2xs what it cost me for this mattress! Don't read any more...just buy this one!

I purchased the Intex Queen Prestige Downy Airbed for camping this summer.

It worked much better than I expected. I weigh 212 pounds and it stayed full and comfortable for several nights of great sleep.

I was also very pleased with the battery powered air pump.

I took several extra packages of batteries, not knowing what to expect. But I used the same batteries for the whole camping trip. In all this bed was a great investment, I only wished I'd bought one sooner.

Thanks Intex for making a quality product!!!!

Chuck Davis

Used camping for 5 nights. Topped off with a little more air on third night. Slept comfortably. Regular queen sheets fit well. The battery pump takes 4 D batteries. Everything worked as it should. This is not a super-thick mattress, but it worked for what we needed. - Inflatable Mattress - Comfortable - Air Bed - Camping'

Dvd Dual Layer - verbatim dl dvd, verbatim

I have bought and burned over 200 of these discs and I have never had a bad disc! Today the blank media market has been flooded with cheap discs that won't work after a few uses or even burn properly! However, this specific blank media is still high quality and won't fail. Verbatim 96542 8.5 GB 8x-10x Double Layer Recordable Disc DVD+R DL, 30 Disc Spindle

This was my first experience using double layer media for burning, so while I have no reference points to go by, I must say I've not had a bad disc so far. I promise to update this review if things begin to change.

I have two versions of Nero (6 and 8) on two very different computers, and I've noticed that they both automatically lower the burn rate to 4X (though I can pump it up to 6X on Nero 6) and wonder if speed accounts for the fact that "lesser" brands fail more often. I even have one of the hated Sony burners in my Core Duo 2 laptop with Nero 8, and it works, despite being HUGELY slower than with a Lite-On drive installed in my ancient AMD64 desktop.

My only gripe with this product is, oddly, what drew me to it in the first place: the price. At $40.48 for a 30 pack you're looking at $1.35 per disc. I find it hard to believe that in this day and age, when the product cycle for optical discs of this sort is quite mature, that it costs this much to produce them. Can it really be more than double the cost of two single layer discs which can be had for 20 to 30 cents each at fairly reliable quality? Perhaps...I've never made them myself. I will conclude in Verbatim's defense that this is the lowest price point short of the widely maligned Memorex discs. That's why I chose them, and all in all I'm quite happy.

P.S.--It might be interesting to hear from those who have used both these and the cheaper Memorex discs to see if patterns in why things head south do so. I'll let you know if I decide to bite the bullet and try the competition at some point.

Verbatim has changed the manufacture process of their discs with the 8x. The dye has serious flaws in 80% or more of the discs. Normally I would recommend these to anybody interested in backing up data. Now I say stay away from these. Out of 15 discs only 3 are barely readable. 12 coasters. I would expect this from Memorex but not Verbatim. Stick to 2.4x discs if you can still find them. I used a brand new Pioneer burner with all of these so I know my drive is not failing. It burns everything else very well including the HP Dual Layer discs. Extremely disappointed.

Please take note I am referring to the purple box not the orange one. Never had a single problem from those. Depending on your chosen software for burning check and see if the disc ID number MKM-003-00 (or something close to that - must have the 003) appears. If it does.. do not even attempt to burn or else you will have just lost an hour of your day and a very expensive disc.

I do a lot of DVD burning, I won't mention any competitors all I will say is that I NEVER have had a Verbatim disk fail on me. If it fails its usually my fault. I have had great success with the Verbatim +R DL disks.

Don't let the price scare you. Verbatim DVD's are worth every penny! Use the other brands for frisbees and never worry again about your media. These babies burn clean without any discards. I've used a few hundred and haven't thrown out any! My only disappoinment is the 8x dual layer doesn't come in a pack of 100 spindle(hmmmmmm). I have reliably used them at different speeds with no difficulty. I have tried other brands, NONE COMPARE!!!

Discs performed perfectly--I'd heard stories of lost or contaminated data with 'bargain' or other cheaper Double Layer discs...I decided to go with the Verbatim discs based on reviews and the experience of friends, a little more co$t, but worth it in the long run....GH

My friends and I have a lot of experience writing DVDs. Even with a top rated DVD burner, the double layer writing is a little tricky and, as far as I am concerned, Verbatim is the ONLY choice. It works almost every time with very few failures. One time I bought a 50 stack of another brand because they didn't have the Verbatim in stock. I gave up trying to get a good write and threw them away. Don't waste your money on any other brand. - Dual Layer Dvd - Verbatim - Verbatim Dl Dvd - Dual Layer'

Ipod Accessories - earbuds, ipod

I hate that the normal iPod earbuds always fall-out while I'm doing any kind of moderate physical activity. After exploring my options with wrap around head phones, sound isolating ear phones (the kind that "plug" your ear canal), I can honestly say I was impressed that these seem to work the best for me. They clip right onto the back of your earbuds and they work like a charm. In bike rides, I have only ever had to adjust them due to my hand snagging the cord on its way to the water bottle than due to any jostling. In a half hour jog, they stay the course without fail, and just seem to work.

I do think you want to leave them on all the earbuds all the time. If you keep clipping them on and off, I can see you potentially running into trouble with the clip's ability to grip the speaker. EARBUDi Clips on and off Your Apple iPod® or iPhone® Earbuds - and Turns Them Into Running Headphones. Soft Over-The-Ear Design with Earbud Tilt & Rotation - Provide a Custom Comfortable Fit. EARBUDi's Simply Hold Your Apple Earbuds in Place for Any Activity From Gardening to Running.

If you plan on using these to run, don't waste your time or money. I was having trouble with my IPod earpieces falling out repeatedly so I tried these. The clips actually held the earpiece further from my eardrum and because they are not nearly form fitting to the ear (they basically just lay on top of your ear), as you start to run, the earpiece falls out almost immediately. Within the first tenth of a mile I knew it was a lost cause and disconnected the clips as I ran. At least they were cheap enough to chalk it up to an experiment gone bad.

I'm constantly listening to music through my iPod, and one of the most annoying things that happens with the Apple earbuds is that they easily slide out, especially at the gym when my ears are a little sweatier than normal and I'm moving vigourously. I personally find the original Apple earbuds to be excellent in terms of sound quality, so I didn't want to abandon them. I looked for Apple-brand earbuds designed with clips like some other known brands, but they didn't have any. I'm really glad I came across the Earbudi clips, they work very well! The design lets you wrap the clips around your ear nice and snug, and you can easily snap the Apple earbuds on and off. Great quality rubber too. Highly recommended.

My iPOD ear phones always fall out when I am running (or walking). I have the ear phones that come wiht the iPOD. It is very annoying. I saw the EARBUDi on Amazon and ordered one for my wife and one for myself. We love them!!!! First, it is very affordable...so just buy it. It is very easy to use, they are comfortable, and most importantly...now my hearphones stay in place....and I can listen to my music while I am excercizing. I plan to run a 1/2 marathon in a few weeks...and my EARBUDi will be going along for the ride!

Within an hour of using these clips they broke and it was from just taking them off my ear. One of the plastic rings snapped off and now I can't use it anymore. A total waste of my money. Also, for the hour that I did get to use them I noticed that they wiggle around so much that it doesn't hook onto your ear well at all. They fell off several times, thus defeating the purpose.

These loops were supposed to keep my Apple earbuds in my ears, but they pulled them out of my ear more than if I wasn't wearing the loops. I would push them back in my ear, which made my ears raw within 5minutes because of the sharp edges of the plastic. Returned them immediately! Very disappointed in them!

These are not comfortable while wearing. They do not stay on my ears, with sunglasses, while I'm running. They did stay while I was walking but I run more than walk. I wouldn't recommend these to my friends.

These ear clips are a great solution to a problem. I have a small ear canal and the only way I could listen to my original ipod touch earbuds was to hold them up with my hands. But the clips are comfortable and hold the earbuds in the right location for good sound. - Earbuds - Ipod - Earphones - Apple'

Computer - cables, hdmi to dvi

You don't need to plunk down 80 or 90 dollars for one of those expensive cables with the fearsome name and equally fearsome price. DVI and HDMI are digital standards with error correction. What does that mean?

In the analog days(Composite, Svideo, etc), other signals could creep in and cause noise or quality loss in the picture. Better shielded (and sometimes more pricey) cables prevented this noise from creeping in to eliminate this noise. However, with HDTV's and digital signals that move over cables like HDMI and DVI, even the cheapest cable can work as well as the expensive brand.

Digital signals are composed of 1's and 0's, or more simply, an on signal or an off signal. Millions of these 1's and 0's can be sent per second and form your image. Since the signal is either on or off, it is easy to figure out at the other end what the data for the image is, and the receiver at the other end (your television or monitor) reconstructs this signal into a pixel perfect image of what was sent.

Because of this method of using 1's and 0's these lines are not as susceptible to noise, and thanks to error correction that is built in, any noise that does creep in is corrected. Even if noise did somehow creep in, it wouldn't affect the image at the other end.

Digital only fails in levels of high noise, where the error correcting code can't compensate, and when it fails, it fails completely. What does this mean? It means that if you have a picture on your screen and it is working, you have a pretty much perfect image. If there is too much noise, you'll notice that it doesn't work at all or very noticeable blocks appear, and the image jerks and stops before it quits working. This gives you peace of mind about your signal, because if you are seeing it and it's working, you know you have the best quality image signal available. This is why when viewing over the air signals in digital format with the new digital transition, there is no more snow in the image, every channel that you can get is clearer than analog cable TV.

The only time the image should get enough noise to fail is not with cables, but with over the air transmissions from broadcast air stations. When transmitting such short distances over a cable in your home, this cheap cable is as good as the most expensive and most fearsomely named brand cable. I am currently using this cable for my monitor and I can see perfect detail down to the tiniest pixel (The individual dots that make up the image). DVI to HDMI Cable 6ft Male-Male

I got my new HDMI-to-DVI cable and immediately connected it between my Toshiba up-converting DVD player and a Samsung 56" DLP TV. The picture is wonderful.

I don't see any point in spending more for a Monster cable when this one is available for a lower cost.

I have more than 20 years of experience as an electronics designer and manufactuing engineer. This cable would easily meet my quality standards.

I just purchased an HD projector for my classroom, only one problem. When I used my DVI to analog cable the projector would not display in high definition. The solution was to buy an DVI to HDMI cable. I found this one on Amazon for less than a $1, so I bought four. They have worked great, I even use them to display my laptop on my HD TV at home. The only thing to remember is that DVI does not carry sound so you still need a set of jacks or optical cable to carry the sound.

I took the old home theatre down in my living room because my wife was complaining of all the wires. So I wondered what I had to do to play movies directly off my computer. After a little research, I noticed my video card had a DVI output connection and my HDTV had an extra HDMI input. So I put 2 and 2 together and went to the store to look for a DVI to HDMI cable. All the stores wanted AT LEAST $30 dollars for one. I rejected that notion and decided to look online. Boy, was I surprised! I found this beauty for under $2 and bought it immediately. Attached DVI to computer and HDMI to HDTV, setup the video card to read the HDTV and, voila, I was able to watch movies. I get a better picture on the TV than on the computer monitor, but I still use the sound card sound from my computer, as I get better sound from that than from my TV speakers. Wonderful item!

Cheap and what else can you say? The cable works really does the job.

No static, interference no nothing.

Connected my PS3 to the computer monitor for full 1080p nirvana.

Now there's other brands out there that take ridiculous name premium over their products, but why pay more for a cable that does the same thing? Also, this cable works as a perfect 21st century flail, for awesome destructive power, against evil forces who attempt to take your sacred gaming experience away from you. Just swing away with this cable and the DVI head will destroy your foes with out any effort. No Shoryuken will penetrate its destructive swing. Now swing away. - Dvi - Computer - Hdmi To Dvi - Cables'

Back Pain - exercise, back pain

I have chronic upper back pain and a pinching the nerves in my spine that affect hands and forearms. Once, I had a 2 week spell with sciatica and couldn't walk from lower back. They have never bothered me at the same time. Upper back is my usual problem.

Normally, I toss and turned all night with numbness and arthritic pain in hands and forearms. I searched to see if this Teeter Table has helped anyone with upper back problems as most of the praise was about relief of lower back pain. My search only found another person with the same question and no answer.

This thing is great. I now have hope. It has helped relief dragging pain and discomfort I have come to know as an all-the-time thing. I thought it might help a little but not this much. WOW! The first night after using it, I slept so deep and my pain and numbness was much relieved. I slept through the night til 5:10 instead of the usual, up every two hours. Still, I developed the pain (pretty strong) by the end of the work day. I went home used it to relax and teeter on. What a great stress reliever it is. I also inverted all the way back this time for a few seconds. Really pulls the weight of your head off the spinal column. I spent a lot of time on it just inverting minimally while my daughter told me about her day. (She loves it too to relieve back ache and stress).

Then I slept well all night with minimal numbness and pain with deeper sleep. Only woke up once in the middle of the night.

2nd night: Slept great, pain much less than day before, and a great day at work with no pain WOW! I just wanted to make sure I told you how great it is because my inclination (no pun intended) would be to invert my happy self off into the sunset. Good night! Buy it it's well worth the money! Oh one more thing. Do watch the dvd on assembling it. That will save you a lot of time putting it together. My daughter and I did it in a reasonable amount of time. It is well made and you feel secure with how well it is put together. Happy inverting! I will try to update if any changes develop. Teeter Hang Ups EP-950 Inversion Therapy Table

This is a great product and worth every penny. I bought it because I have back pain and pinch nerve causing my right arm to be numb. since I have used it on average 5 minutes a day the pain and numbness are gone! I wish I knew about this product long time ago.. Hope my feedback will help people having the same problem I had.

WOW! Talk about a satisfied customer. The EP-950 is a high quality product. I have suffered with a herniated disc and endured chronic back pain for years. I experienced relief after my first use of the inversion table and slept better that night than I had in years. For now, I invert on a daily basis for a few minutes and am close to being free of back pain. I sleep better and begin each morning with little or no back pain. Absolutely amazing! I told my family this really has been the best purchase I recall ever making! No buyer's remorse here.

I went to the chiropractor, again; and was told I needed to come in three days a week for traction and electrical stimulation for my 15 year old lower back injury at $80 a pop. I have gone to chiropractors for years and would find slight to moderate relief from the pain. I was an athlete through high school and college (football). I have tried everything for my lower back short of neurosurgery.

Finally as a last request from a good friend; he told me to purchase a Teeter Hangup. I thought he was crazy for the first three months of hearing about it, but when returning home from the chiropractor I ordered it from Amazon. Just about 5 days later it arrived and I assembled it in about 45 minutes (I hate putting stuff together). I hung with the secure strap keeping me from all the way inverted, but almost all the way. My wife all the while was watching me thinking I was a nut. Within 2 minutes my back made a pop in the area that was injured that the chiropractor could not pop back into place the majority of the time, popped like two locomotives pulling apart from each other! I yelled out loud expecting the pain to be overwhelming and found no pain, just a solid release of my vertebrates that were out of alignment. I hung again the next morning and had a smaller pop near the middle of my back (right in the spine). I was able to move around without hunching over that morning for the first time in I can't remember how long. I am now using my own portable electronic stimulator unit for muscle relaxation I purchased from a local medical supply company at the same time that I do inversion therapy. Thank you Teeter hangup for my new hope!

Ok, everybody my turn to boast about my new EP-950! Tomorrow will mark the second week I've been using my inversion table and all I can say is WOW! I am only 47, and about 4 months ago, I literally woke-up with severly herniated discs and sciatica. 'Degenerative disc disease.' Nice, right? I let it go (swamped at work) like a dumb*ss and it quickly progressed to near crippling proportions. Fast forward, I go to my GP who orders an MRI. Results say I have very bad condition, I then get referred to an orthopaedic surgeon. He schedules me for a cortizone injection IN MY SPINE. He made quite a point of making sure I knew he scheduled me last, "I'm seeing you last," "You're my last patient of the day," blablabla. Now I know why.

I have NEVER screamed for my bloody life louder or uncontrollably IN MY LIFE. Damn good thing there were no other patients in there or they'd have left the building faster than Elvis. My poor husband was in the waiting room listening, powerless. They had to hold me in recovery longer as my blood pressure flew so high, they were afraid of cardiac arrest. I was afraid of cardiac arrest. He LIED to me, laughing at my fear and concern about the procedure saying, "Bah, tsk - you'll laugh when this is over, if I thought it was going to hurt you I'd give you a needle to poke me." I'd like that needle now please you schmuk. You know the saying 'always trust your gut?' Apply as necessary.

So that funfilled procedure lasted roughly a month, a depressing thought, great - was that it? No hope? I knew I'd NEVER go through that again, someone recommended acupuncture. I did my research and found a wonderful clinic in Burbank. First visit, I could have danced a jig out of there. Second visit? Not so much.

So here I am with no hope for relief, leaving in a month for England. Great, you could over-medicate me for pain and flash postcards of London and I wouldn't need to leave my living room. Then, I had another friend who recommended inversion tables.

I did my research and WOW!!!!!!!!! Here it is and only [...] bux, free shipping and (for those of us in CA who HATE Sacramento) NO SALES TAX. I read all your reviews and actually felt confident of this product. What other "hope" did I have?

Two weeks now and I'm 98% better. Went to Disneyland Monday and rode "do not ride if you have back conditions) rides and am still FINE! I inverted last night and heard two wonderful, beautiful pops and I can't believe something this simple, inexpensive and non-medicinal can do this. I'm floored. No really, when I'm inverted I touch the floor with my fingers. I only don't like how it makes my head feel, like a giant tomato.

Some tips though that have helped me. I went to K-Mart (ewww, I know) and bought some knock-off Uggs for $[...] and then wrap each ankle with an ACE bandage. The suede boots and bandage work perfectly for me as I felt I was between adjustments. Very confident and comfortable.

Sorry for the long, drag-on, but I really wanted to share and THANK YOU to all of you who wrote in reviews. You all deserve honorary doctrines for saving my life.

Accessories - hat, hats

I bought this hat about a month ago, I got 2 white and 1 black, And I must say I don't dare going outside without them. The material that it is made out is very stretchy, and feels great, it does not itch like my other hats, and you can wear this hat all day [ for those with bad hair days ].

The hat itself is very stylish and looks really nice.

Im going to proceed to buy 3-4 more hats.

There is a issue, on the white hats if you get anything on them, dirt, ink, etc, it is not easy to make it go away. I know on one of the white ones I bought I got a little dirt, and it still hasn't come off asfter 3 washes. New Blank Cuff Beanie Visor (Comes In Many Different Colors), Black

Before I got this beanie, I was wearing a regular beanie that was a bit too loose and long. The length would put the front of beanie in my eyes, and it was too short to just fold up around the edges. So, after I'd almost gotten hit, while crossing the street, I decided that I definitely needed to get a beanie with a bill on the front.

I immediately fell in love with this, when I put it on. The size is perfect for me. If you have a lot of hair, then this is probably not going to cover your ears. I keep my hair very low, and the beanie goes over my ears with a centimeter to spare.

It feels great on my head, very snug, not loose like my other beanie. The bill feels sturdy. The material is very soft and comfortable. I'm excited to wear it in the cold, to compare it to my old beanies for warmth.

Note: this is my first beanie in this style. I had considered buying a Fossil beanie, but (of course) it was nearly $30, but I can't compare this to any other, more expensive beanies.

I ordered the black, white, and olive hats a few weeks ago to get me through another cold Michigan winter and for the price they are great. The material is pretty thick and warm although I've found a cold wind can cut through it and it is not the most form fitting. Overall it is a quality good looking hat.

It's simple enough - "Decky" is the brand according to the removable tag it comes with on the top, there's a small tag on the inside that says it's made in China - like just about everything else. Despite this (or because of depending on your stance) the beanie appears well made and not about to unravel at any moment. It fits my head well, but it did take me a couple tries to get it on the correct way as I am used to ubilled, larger cable knit beanies. The cuff covers my ears when it's folded up, if you fold it down it just looks goofy. The cuff is also only about a third of an inch wide above the bill of the hat, this doesn't cause any problems, but it is different from the picture. The bill is actually up quite high, I can still see my hairline, though I haven't really attempted to wear it in any other way so depending on how much hair you have on your head (I have wavy hair that comes down just about to my jaw) the hat might fit you a bit differently and the bill may be lower on your forehead. Good hat for a good price, came in a matter of three days.

This is not a good purchase. The hat is made quite poorly, and is made for someone who's head is small. Not only is my head large, but I also have very long thick hair. I'm quite disappointed that the Item was made so poorly. It may fit someone else but not me.. - Knit Caps - Hats - Beanie - Hat'

Bad Company 2 - microphone, headphones

I spend my time listening to music at the computer primarily to concentrate and/or drown out ambient/family noise. I also play FPS games. These headphones sound just as good as my Sony headphones and seem to fit my head better. I've only had them for a day so I don't know what the durability will be but for the price it's hard to go wrong.

Prior to these I lived in a pair of Sony MDRV6 headphones for about 11 years until they started to disintegrate. My requirements for a replacement were that they:

- should be less than $100

- needed to muffle sound when nothing was playing

- Should be over ear and closed design

- should have a normal 3.5mm audio plug (not usb)

I've bought 4 headsets to replace the Sonys and the HS-980 is the final solution.

First, I had a Logitech Clearchat headset from Best Buy. Fair on the ear design. Lasted about 6 months.

Second, I bought Microsoft Lifechat LX-3000. Flimsy and USB. Good sound.

Third, I had a pair of Plantronics 367 and they don't even compare to these ones. Plantronics way too big. Mic quality poor. Poor sound quality.

Things I really like about these:

- A bonus feature they don't mention in the spec is that the mic boom detaches.

- It's also really nice to be able to fold these flat so that I can put them in my laptop bag.

- They also work well with a normal mp3 player.

- The inline volume/mic control can be clipped onto your shirt pocket or something.

Creative makes great sound cards but has made serious mistakes over the last 15 years with most of their other products (dvd drives, mp3 players, speakers, etc). In this case they got it way right. Creative Labs HS-980 Fatal1ty Professional Series MKII Gaming Headset (Black)

I've purchased various headsets over the years, several were decent but not very durable, some where durable with poor sound quality. I have had this headset for about a month and I can say that it is the single best one I've used. The sound quality is amazing, if you crank them all the way up, the sound fills the room, and when you put the headphones together, its all immediately silenced. While not advertised as noise canceling, these do a wonderful job of muffling out all the other sounds in the room.

They are also EXTREMELY comfortable, like two clouds framing your head in audio bliss. The only downside is that after extensive usage, my ears have a tendency to get a little sweaty, but if thats the only negative -- I have no complaints.

All in all, this is an excellent product, I'd recommend it both to the gamers and to someone who just wants to remove the mic and use it has high quality headphones.

First off let me say that i am not a audiphile. I cannot rattle off specs of different sound spectrums off the top of my head. But i am a gamer and i love music and movies. For my purposes these headphones are perfect. While playing Call of duty 4 it makes every bullet whizzing by clearer than other heaphones ive owned. I have a pair of Audio Technica ATHM40FS Precision Studio Headphones as well but i would take these over those.

The Fatal1ty has good bass boom too it which i love. Movies explosions are epic in their sound and music is clear and booming. The earpads are cushy, comfortable and feel sturdy. The in-line controls are well placed and come in handy.

While using Skype the mic has good clarity and sound. The person i was Skyping could hear my every word with no problems. And the mic is removable!!!

I just wish they came with a came with a carrying case or bag. But not a big deal at all. These are excellent headphones for gamers, movie and music lovers at a Great price!

The sound quality is really good definitely better than my everglide S500's (which aren't phenomenal but were VERY cheap on woot). They have a lot more bass than normal headphones which is a plus in my book. The inline volume/mic control is nice. They do tend to squish my ears after a while which can become uncomfortable but my ears do stick out a little so it could just be me. I like the detachable microphone BUT for some reason something has begun to rattle after a month or two in the left cup even though I have NEVER abused these things. I have not dropped/banged them on anything so I am not sure if I just got a bad set or what. If there was no rattling I would give these things 5 stars.

Whenever I read customer reviews on products, I'm looking for information that will help me decide whether to purchase a the one I had in mind or help compare alternative to weigh out my options. Considering most reviews / feedback are by average consumers and not critics with years of audio experience, I look for general pros and cons that repeat themselves. The stars give me a general overview. You'll understand why I gave it 4/5 stars if you read my review below. Basically, the initial setup knocked it down a star, but now that it is working, it is great. With that in mind, I will do my best to give a fair and honest judgment on Creative's Fatal1ty Series Professional MKII Headset.

There were three things I had to keep in mind when I was looking for a headset: first and foremost, price is very important to me as I like to get what I'm paying for, second, what features does the headset promote compared to its competitors and third, do I want a 3.5mm connector or a USB connector?

After doing some research, I discovered the main difference between 3.5mm and USB headsets. The latter bypasses your sound card and uses its own drivers. Seeing as I had recently built a new computer and bought Creative's Fatal1ty Titanium Series sound card, I wanted to see if I could take advantage of my high end sound card. After shopping around, I discovered the 3.5mm version of the MKII. The headset boasted three features that when paired with my sound card seemed to set it apart from the competition: Crystallizer, Silencer and VoiceFX.

PLEASE NOTE! If you are running Windows 7, be sure to download Creative's new drivers for the Titanium sound card and the MKII headset. Without them, the Crystallizer and Silencer will not work! I cannot stress this enough. For the first week of owning this headset, I received feedback in the headset from certain games and the microphone was a mess. However, with the new drivers, everything resolved itself and I'm very happy with the product. With that said, here is my breakdown:

Crystallizer:

Wow, that is about all I can say about this feature. Seriously, I'm no audiophile, but after enabling this feature my music was crisp, beautiful, the bass booms when playing music at 320 Kbps and I get nearly zero static (There is some when the bass is really low). I tested it with several genre's to make sure: drum & bass, rap, classical, rock and alternative. All sounded pristine! Before enabling this feature, the sound quality was pretty good, and maybe slightly better than my previous Sennheiser PC 151 due to the bass. But, in reality, without the Crystallizer, the difference between the two wouldn't be enough to make me switch to the MKII's and with that being the case, I would tell you to save 50 bucks and just get the PC 151. However, turn on the Crystallizer and you instantly notice the difference. Totally worth it!

Silencer: (Make sure you read my notice above before going on)

Here is what I want out of a microphone: no static, no ambient noise, clear audio, and easily adjustable volume. As mentioned before, none of these things seemed to be happening for me. However, after doing a bunch of tweaking, I got the microphone to work and it does its job efficiently. I've had no complaints from anyone and it seems to be doing its job. It is tricky to setup though. I had to adjust settings in quite a few programs to finally get the input working correctly. Without the Silencer feature, the microphone worked OK. Nothing really special. Having said that, after enabling the feature, there was a noticeable improvement. I'm not going to say it is crystal clear and I'm not going to gush and set the bar really high. It just worked better and fulfills the above criterion. However, in comparison to my PC 151, the microphone and this feature aren't a deal breaker, but it is nice when it works. If the microphone is a huge deal to you, then some of the more expensive headsets are probably better.

The other nice thing about the MKII is that the mic is removable. When not in use, I just take it off so it doesn't get in the way. It swivels up when plugged in and doesn't really get in the way when playing. Personally though, it could be better. I tried out my friends Corsair HS1's mic and found it to be sturdier.

Voice FX:

This is a fun little feature, but I haven't really used it while in game. It does what you think it would and modifies your voice to over 15 different presets. Everything from Orc to Robot. Let's just say it works and move on. I wouldn't really say this is a deal breaker as the majority of high end headsets come with this feature or features like it.

Other Thoughts:

Durability / Comfort:

Compared to my PC 151's, the only thing I've noticed so far was that the pleather material surrounding the ear cups can heat up and create perspiration around the ear. I don't recall this ever happening with my old headset, however, I have been wearing my PC 151's since 2004, so I guarantee that I've just become accustomed to it, which I'm sure will be the same case for the MKII's. The headband is comfortable. After long play-throughs (3+ hours), I have no complaints about the comfort of this headset. As for build, I haven't dropped mine yet, but they have a steel liner through the head band, so I'm hopeful if they fall. I must have dropped my PC 151's a thousand times and their plastic headband held up just fine, so here's hoping the MKII's can do the same!

I just want to take a second to address some of the complaints/comments I found around the web concerning this headset. First, the general consensus from forums and casual buyers was that they hated the headset, despite critics giving it high marks. Common complaints are that the microphone sucks, the sound quality is sub par, the headset breaks easily, and that the 3.5mm connectors split over time. Here is what I found though, the majority of users do not pair this headset with the Titanium sound card, which dulls its edge over the competition and for the price you pay, there is too much tweaking / setup involved in order to get this headset to work correctly. This comes from my observations that most users returned their headsets a couple of days after use and the fact that they never mentioned they had the sound card in their comments.

I agree concerning the price point. For the price you pay and concerning the alternatives, when you plug it in, you'd expect to be dazzled due to the word "Professional" in the product title and the fact that this is Creative's flagship headset. However, this just isn't the case. I'm a patient person, but I do want to get what I paid for and I too had difficulties with this headset within the first week. Had I not paid only $49.99, I would have felt ripped off as well, considering nothing seemed to work. After working with it, I'm now very happy with my purchase and would buy them again.

If you are looking to be WOW'ed and have everything work as expected when you plug it in, may I suggest the SteelSeries 7H, Corsair HS1, or Sennheiser PC 350. Also, opt for the USB versions unless you have a high end sound card for 3.5mm. If you are looking for a headset to make it through the long haul and sound good, I can't comment on this headset yet, but my Sennheiser PC 151's lasted a good 5 years. If you are looking for an above average headset, pick this one up if you can for $50 or less. If you have the Titanium sound card from Creative, $65 is a good price for this. You will not regret it.

As for the connectors coming apart and frame breaking, I haven't had this headset long enough to vouch for this. I'm hoping these will last me a while. I'm not expecting the longevity of my PC 151's, but hopefully a year. I'm pretty careful with my stuff. I have a Labrador that sleeps in my PC room when I play games, so there is the chance he will knock them on the floor when he wants attention, but that hasn't happened yet. As for the connectors. I don't mess with them generally, but when I do remove them, I grasp the connector by the head, and not the cord. I REALLY wish Creative had created a break away point for the headset though. That would decrease the chances of breaking the connectors. My PC rests on my desk, so the cord does not hit the floor. I did this specifically so I don't run over the cord, which happened ALL THE TIME with my old headset. That is the main reason why the mic stopped working.

I've own this headset approximately a month and upgraded from a Sennheiser's PC 151 headset. I loved my PC 151's, but the microphone died on me and I wanted to upgrade to something a little more high end. I bought my MKII's for $[...], which is the prefect price point for this headset if you ask me. Considering the alternatives out there, I wouldn't buy this for $[...]. Maybe $[...], but no more. If it wasn't for the price and the features that come with my sound card, I probably would have gone with one of the alternatives mentioned above.

Vehicle Mounts - vehicle mounts, garmin nuvi

Left my previous suction cup + bracket in a rental. Purchased this item and just received it. It comes in a Garmin box ("Authentic Garmin Accessory") and comes complete with suction cup and bracket. Exactly as pictured. As indicated on the box, it fits the Garmin 200/205 series. Garmin Suction Cup Mount

I received only the suction cup mount, but not the bracket shown in the picture, my order looks like item 010-10747-00 from Garmin, which is only the mount. This obivously makes the mount useless, since I'm purchasing this mount to replace one that was stolen. I'm still trying to figure out if it was a mistake from Amazon, or the item does not come with the bracket. I would rather have purchased this directly from Garmin, since now Amazon is giving me headache and money loss from having to return the item for refund.

Garmin Suction Cup Mount (010-10936-00)

I know a lot of people had a concern about whether this ships with the bracket. I was anxiously waiting for the product to arrive since I wasn't sure if the bracket was included...worry no more the package just arrived and it included the bracket as well. It's in Garmin packaging, just need to stick it on the windshield and see if it stays on as well as the one I just misplaced in a rental car.

Vevek

The suction cup works fine, however, this suction cup mount is only for certain nuvi devices, something that is not made clear in the product description. It works with the 205w, 200w, 205 and 200 series. I have a 350, and the antenna flap cannot be put in the horizontal position with this mount.

If you're having problems with the suction cup, be sure to clean the rubber suction cup, as film from the windshield will accumulate and the unit can fall off the window.

Also, if the suction cup is applied near sea level and you drive into the mountains, don't be surprised if the unit falls off.

Before buying this product, I read some earlier reviews stating it was a knock off and not a Garmin product, you don't get the suction cup, you don't get everything pictured, etc. All of those reviews are pure garbage. It is a Garmin product, and you get exactly what is pictured. The only thing you don't get (and you should) is slapped for leaving the original in the rental car.

No sooner had I mounted the new garmin GPS in my car than the rubber suction cup cracked rendering this whole device worthless. It lasted me all of 15 seconds before it failed. I felt totally ripped off. - Garmin Nuvi - Friction Mount - Vehicle Mounts - Suction Cup'
