Connectors - iphone, iphone 3g accessories

This is my 1st purchase from this company, but the service and product are great. I ordered and had the product in my hands 2 days later. With how many iPhones/iPods are on the market, you'd think that more companies would have a product like this. When I found this I was thrilled, trying to charge your iPhone and talk on it are impossible with how short the cord is. A friend told me about it and as soon as I found it I bought 2, one more home and one for work. Now I can get more than a foot from the wall when my phone is charging. Great price and great service! Extra Long 6 Foot (6ft) iPhone / iPod USB Charge and Sync Cable, Double the Length of the Standard Cord

Love the length of this cable--it's so handy to use in most applications. But it's not perfect...

--Data sync with iTunes depends on where this cable is connected. I've plugged it directly into three different computers, without problems--but I've also plugged it into two different laptop docking stations, and consistently get an error message indicating that an iPhone has been detected, but other information could not be correctly accessed, and therefore sync was not possible. (For comparison, the Apple OEM cord works flawlessly when plugged into these same laptop docking stations.) Charging works great everyplace I've attempted.

--The phone connection is "squeeze to release", not "pull to release" like the Apple OEM. For some accessories which require a sync cord (such as a Griffin AirCurve), this is a problem, as the squeeze points aren't accessible when it's plugged in, and therfore removing the cord or the iPhone is nearly impossible once connected.

--The USB connection is slightly fatter than the Apple OEM cord. Which usually won't be an issue--but if you have multiple USB ports on your computer, you might not be able to access the one directly above or below this connection when using this cord. Also, some accessories (my example again is the Griffin AirCurve) are designed to pass the USB connection through a hole in the device, and this cord's USB plug won't fit.

Still, all in all, a well-built and quality product. Just be sure to know where you plan to use it before buying.

Never before left a bad review, but like some other users, the end which connects to the iPhone/iPad just crumbled apart into 5 pieces. I reassembled it but after another charge the end crumbled and the main part was stuck in the iPhone. A quick pinch with plyers and it was out but that was it.

Really bad quality. It was great when it worked as the extra length was ideal. But now I notice others had the crumbling end and its not acceptable. I must have gotten one of those bad batches.

The first time I used the cable, the iPod/iPad connector shell came apart. I spent 30 minutes putting it back together and gluing it. If you buy this product, before using it, apply a small amount of super glue along the seams, being careful not to glue the release buttons on the sides. As I said, it works but it is NOT well made.

I enjoyed it for 2 days very much

the iPhone end of the charger started separating after 2 days and no longer worked. Awesome idea. I like the long cord but very cheap construction. I'd like one that wouldn't fall apart if anyone has found one. Thank you. Kit Stockton

I looked every where for a longer than normal cable and finally found this one. I needed to be able to keep my iPod Touch plugged in while driving so my kids in the back seat could play with it.

this cable works perfectly. Charging and data transfer is perfect.

Update!!! Please see added comments from two users. One did not get this to work on his iPhone 4. The other did not get it to work on his iPhone 3G. My device is the iPod touch 3rd generation.

Works perfectly even with my iphone 4. I used it to charge my iphone 4 from several power sources -- the original apple power adapter, car charger adapter, multi-powerstrip usb port, and laptop -- all worked perfectly without a hitch. I have used other cables before and not all of them worked well. I am ordering more of this brand b/c it simply works and I love the extra length. One minor point that turns out to be a lucky break, the end that plugs into the iphone is thinner, which is great because it plugs into my iphone 4 even when a protective case is used on the phone. The original iphone cable is a bit fat and I was having problems trying to squeeze the original cable into some of these ill fitted iphone 4 cases. (it's an iphone 4 accessory case problem not a cable issue).

I purchased 2 of these cables. One for my girlfriend and one for myself. A month after working flawlessly they stopped working. My girlfriends only charges when u twist the cable in wierd angles. Mine wont charge on my computer or tv anymore. I really dont recomend this product to anyone. Poor quality. - Ipod Cable - Iphone - Iphone 3g Accessories - Cable'

Emergency Kit - knife, edc

I have been waiting for this item since it was first announced.

The list price from the 3rd party amazon seller ($84) is much higher than the actual MSRP ($60). However amazon's discount brings it down to a reasonable cost, compared to other buying options. Just make sure you don't think you are getting 40% off, because you aren't.

The case is big. Think 2 or 3 altoids tins stacked on each other, or 2-3 decks of playing cards. It does fit well into a baggy jeans or jacket pocket though. The case is very well made, from nice hard plastic. The main container has a rubber o-ring to provide waterproofing. It seems like it would take reasonable drops or impacts quite well.

Unfortunately, the usable space of the box is much less than you would get from 2/3 altoids cans. This is because over 1/2 of the thickness of the box is taken up by the built in tools. Now, if you consider that you would also take up that space if things were loose in the box, it comes out pretty fair, but there is "dead" loss due to the structure that holds things in place, and you lost flexibility in choosing what to pack. I wish they had the case more open, with the tools just loose inside to maximize space and flexibility.

The knife is nice, but not very durable. It is very small (swiss army sized?), but fits well in the hand, and has a nice blade. The knife is exceptionally easy to open one handed (the easiest knife to open I have, except for the assisted open ones). The handle is light plastic however, so any heavy duty (or really even light/medium) chopping or battoning would destroy it immediately. The knife is really only useful for cutting cord/cloth/seatbelt or perhaps shaving some small sticks into tinder etc. You could use it to fillet a fish, or clean a small animal. Certainly better than nothing, but any serious carrier will need to have a more heavy duty knife. The knife has a lock to hold it open, and locks into the case with a small button to release. While you can open the knife easily one handed, it is a tad bit hard to get out of the case one handed. I really recommend carrying a higher quality knife in addition to this for almost any situation

The light on the knife is pitiful. A very low intensity LED. Possibly good enough for providing very close up light to see by while lighting a fire or something (assuming you are lighting the fire a few inches away). Completely useless for navigation/signaling/travel. This is the brightness of a single LED keychain light for getting a key into a lock etc. Possibly could be used to read by.

The whistle on the knife is decent. Not equal to a dedicated howler or something though, but very convenient, and much louder than yelling.

The compass is simple and functional. No where near as accurate or reliable as a dedicated military style compass, but serviceable in an emergency. The compass must be held perfectly level. Even a slight tip causes the edge of the disc to touch the plastic and freeze the compass so it does not rotate freely. The compass is stored outside the case, so drops and impacts could shatter the bubble fairly easily rendering it broken.

The fire starter is basically a cigarette lighter, without the fuel. Easy to use one handed, and tosses out some nice sparks. Certainly not as powerful as a dedicated flint/magnesium/blastmatch, but good in a pinch. Make sure you spin the wheel the right direction.

The signaling mirror is very nice. Equal to ones purchased individually. Has a nice aiming hole, and some instructions. Comes with a protective sticker applied as to prevent scratches. Not removable from the case.

the supplies are ok. Some tinder, wire, twine, and aluminum foil. Also a small fishing/sewing kit. They barely fit into the case. You would certainly want additional supplies such as a survival blanket (which would absolutely not fit in the case)

All in all, you can absolutely find MUCH higher quality and more powerful tools if you buy separately. However, the case is convenient as an every day carry item to make sure you have at least minimal basics with you at all times. If you are the kind who carries a real knife, real flashlight, multi-tool, etc at all times then the kit probably has less value, but I will likely keep it in my jacket pocket all the time for use as backup

For those considering an "all in one" survival tool such as the various 7 in one, 6 in one tools available this one is CLEARLY superior. The other ones out there are absolute junk in comparison, and do not provide a knife or the consumable supplies. It is however quite a bit bigger and more expensive.

For me, this will replace the 7 in one I was carrying (heading to the trash!). The BlastMatch I carried will get moved into the backpack kit instead of the every day kit. I will continue to carry an assisted opening folder, and a more powerful pocket flashlight. SOL Origin Survival Kit and Essential Survival Tools

SOL is a good company and has some quality products, but unfortunately this "kit" is not one of them. For what you get the kit is far too bulky, not nearly comprehensive enough for the price, and the combo knife/whistle/light is just outright junk.

You can build your own much more comprehensive "pocket kit". I'd start with a top quality Wenger 16981 lock blade Swiss Army Knife (has a great saw and other useful tools and it is available here at Amazon) and add the other items included in this SOL Kit. You won't spend much more than the SOL kit and you'll have much better equipment in a smaller space.

I bought a survival kit tin from bepreparedtosurvive and added Katadyn MicroPur Purification Tablets - In Your Choice of Styles, a liter water bag, a Streamlight 73001 Nano Light Miniature Keychain LED Flashlight, Black, a Adventure Medical Kits Fox 40 Rescue Howler Whistle the Wenger 16981 Evolution Lock S 13 Swiss Army Knife Ergo Grip With Safety Lock Blade a few strips of removable backing duct tape, a few survival food tablets, some 250lb kevlar thread, safety pins (free from the dry cleaner), a signal mirror, a fresnel lens (solar fire starter), a flint + steel and some tinder, a few fishhooks and small spool of BRAIDED fishing line (doesn't tangle like monofiliment line). I also added a BugX Insect Repellent Towelette 25 Foil Packs/Box - 30% DEET in a Water Based Formula That Is Non-greasy and Non-staining. Stuff a few bandaids, steri-strips, and a packet of neosporin in the odd spaces left over and you'll be pretty well prepared for minor emergencies.

Wrap the tin with an Adventure Medical Heatsheets Emergency Blanket, and some more kevlar thread then put it in a ziplock for a real pocket kit. That's food, water, shelter, fire, and tools all in less space than the SOL kit which lacks some of these basic requirements.

I bought this little SOL kit, thinking it was of the same caliber as some of their other products, but right from the beginning I was disappointed with the bulk, poor quality, and lack of components. This is a cool gadgetty toy, but it lacks substance, and the backbone of the kit, the knife, is weak and easily broken. It's a wannabe tool in a toy survival kit. You can do a much better job yourself, even using the cheap and ubiquitious Altoids tin.

Sorry SOL, you just didn't get this one right. - Edc - Knife - Emergency - Emergency Kit'

Rihanna

"We Found Love" by Rihanna featuring Calvin Harris is a very catchy and upbeat song. Calvin Harris is a popular Scottish DJ who has worked with famous pop stars such as Kylie Minogue for her 2007 "X" album. "We Found Love" is a very cheerful tune about finding romance with someone that is unique and is healing to be around. This musical track also appears to be about finding the excitement of passionate love unexpectedly. I enjoyed the high-energy and bright dance/electronica music that accompanied it. This song definitely piques my interest in getting her upcoming album because of the happy and euphoria inducing lyrics contained in "We Found Love". "We Found Love" is best for anyone that has enjoyed any of Rihanna's romantic musical gems such as "Umbrella" and/or Rehab. In addition, "We Found Love" is also best for anyone that enjoys dance and/or electronica music. We Found Love

The song isn't all that, but the rhytem is cool... The video also makes the song better too. I also would like to see which other songs she will put out, since she is always trying to do so much at one time.

When it has came down to Rihanna, she has been one of the most overfatigued artists to come out of the industry. Unfortunately at times, there can be a moment where there can be too much of an artist. Her songs lately have gotten to be just so annoying. Her latest song We Found Love from her upcoming November album Talk The Talk, isn't really a driven song. She tries and brings in a more calypso kind of sound to her voice, but her music has gotten very tiring lately. I think rather than just rushing out new music every year, she should take a breather and find herself. It seems like she could've found love, but sadly it feels more like she is losing her voice.Song: C-

it doesn't have the catchiness like her previous singles umbrella, only girl, or even what's my name for that matter. instead of moving forward, she comes out with this song after releasing just cheers a month ago. the beats are just generic and basic while the lyrics are just mediocre and safe. anyone else could have sung this rushed of a song. why won't rihanna ever take a break??? she's not giving herself time to grow as an artist by releasing albums year after year...i just hope for her sake that the album "talk that talk" won't have the same results.'

Usb Stick - usb flash drive, patriot

I recently purchased the 32 GB Patriot thumb drive and have been very happy with it. I work in video animation and web design and have found the drive to be very fast - even with large size file loads or loads with a large number of files. I've read some other complaints about the load speed of the drive but haven't noticed them myself. Perhaps the people complaining about the load speed weren't using a USB 2.0 port or they were simply being overly scientific about it.

Upon opening the drive from its packaging I inserted it into my USB drive right away and both my Vista machine and my Windows XP machine recognized it immediately. There was no formatting or configuration required. I'm not sure how it would react to a Mac.

My biggest concern with a drive like this is losing the cap. For example, if you put the drive on your keychain and stick it in your pocket the cap will eventually come off of the drive in your pocket, or while you take your keychain out of your pocket, or while the drive hangs from your vehicle's ignition. It's also common, at least for me, to forget where I put the caps. In consideration of a potential future lost cap I emailed the manufacturer's customer service department and asked them for extra caps and I received 2 additional caps about two weeks later free of charge. To me, that's customer service.

Overall the drive seems reasonably rugged. It's encased in rubber so I suspect that's what the manufacturer was going for. I'll modify this post if the drive ever craps out on me but for now I'm very satisfied with it - especially when compared to other thumb drives I've owned. Patriot Xporter XT Boost 16 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive PEF16GUSB

Bottom line: The Patriot Xporter XT Boost 16 GB is a good USB drive but far below the performance I expected. Its tests average slightly below a Class 8 flash drive or 50X.

I will update my review on the cap status in the future since most rubber caps loosen with age and this one is a pocket gripper. I may epoxy a little leash on it to the body.

Reading so many of these reviews does not help in purchase decisions. Frankly, they drive me nuts. "It was so fast!" "It was so much faster than my old drive!" "Some people are too scientific." "It booted immediately on my Windows... (version)/Mac [computer]." (Please do not take any of these comments as personal attacks on your reviews. I have been hammered in past professional writing to ensure I provide hard, substantive data for any statement I make.)

Can I please have objective data to assist in my purchase decision? The first thing I do is benchmark when I receive a flash drive or flash card. I have returned fakes, counterfeits, and below spec units. Formatting new drives appropriately upon receipt is a smart decision, since it removes any crapware from the manufacturer and any viruses a disgruntled employee could have placed. (Does anyone remember the WordPerfect employee who knew he was going to be fired back around 1990?) Although not a Mac user. I use flash drives for Windows Vista/7 and Linux OS purposes.

Flash "class" is based on write speed. I have included a conversion table toward the end of my review. I am sorry I forgot to specify sequential write testing for my benchmarks. To increase accuracy and reduce extraneous hardware reductions in test results, I do not use USB extension cables and clean format the flash for each test. Here are some hard data for you on the 16 GB Patriot XT Boost I received from Amazon:

Thank you for reading my review. I hope it helps you. Please approve or disapprove so I know if I should continue writing and submitting results from this several hour process for future drive or card purchases.

I own a few of these, I find I need alot of portable space but I dont want to carry around an ext HDD. The drive is soooooo fast. Before this I owned a corsair voyager 16gb which was just way way too slow, this drive reminds me of my old lexar lightning. Well worth the price.

I bought this to help back up photos on trips. Works great. Relatively fast and was pleased with the transfer speed. I like the rubber housing.

Pros: Fast. Reliable. Small. Lightweight. Rubber housing semi-weather proof and feels fairly durable.

Cons: Only one small complaint. It would be nice if the cap was attached by a small rubber strip to keep the unit together as one piece. Otherwise you have to slide it on the back of the drive or set it aside which is easy to loose if you don't pay atttention. - Thumb Drive - 16gb - Patriot - Usb Flash Drive'

37 Inch - 32 inch lcd, 1080p

Wow, LED LCD provides a fantastic picture. This set replaced a 26" Vizio that I thought had a great picture. The LED picture is much better and brighter. One thing that is not readily apparent is the power supply.

Most televisions have a transformer on the inside that converts 115v or 220v to 12v, this TV uses an external 12v converter/power supply and the 12 v plugs into the back of the set. This might make it easier to install in an RV or other camping/water option. The power supply is about the same size as a Laptop Power Supply.

Sound is a bit of a problem. It is somewhere between as good to superior to many other televisions, but it is NOT real surround and does not have a sub woofer, so...

Set up: Opened the box, laud TV on bed, took down old TV, swapped out the mount, and had the new set operating within 20 min. Setup was also easy and fast. Weight does not seem that big a deal at first, but this set's weight is slightly LESS than the 26" we replaced, another plus for mobile mounting.

If you are wall mounting, be careful to follow the steps to remove the stand neck. Instructions say, "Remove the four (4) screws holding the stand neck, and then remove the neck and base." Well, only two screws are readily visible. The step BEFORE this reads, "Remove the cover on the stand neck," which exposes the other two screws. Removing this cover can be tricky so look first and then proceed with caution.

We use this TV as our second set and it is in the master bedroom. I am so impressed that I may replace the main TV before too much longer with the big brother of this set.

Overall this TV is well worth the price I paid and Amazon had the best price of any place I checked. I usually spend an inordinate time pricing things prior to purchase and Amazon was well below everyone this time. VIZIO E320VP 32-Inch LED LCD HDTV, Black

We purchased this TV from a large box store to replace the kids's movie/game tube TV.

I've heard Vizio is the "quality" budget tv maker. And it seems true based on a friend who purchased a Vizio as well as from what I've read online.

I was pleased to have access to LED technology at such a great price. But what I discovered was that the reason Vizio can offer this tv at such a great price is because they have used the very poorest sound technology that they could get away with and not have to call this a computer monitor (which usually ships with no speakers).

My iPhone/iPod has better sound quality than this tv. My alarm clock speakers are better than the speakers in this tv. The voices in my crazy neighbor's head come in better quality than the sounds coming from this tv. And there's a reason.

Vizio is now also in the soundbar business. They are selling external home theater options, which they obviously mean to sell along with this tv. And that's OK. Some people who purchase this tv will have something already to run the sound through or they may not be bothered by the horrible sound.

So the smart shopper thing to do would be to look at other TVs that cost about a hundred bucks more and have ok picture and sound. You will not touch the picture quality of this TV for a hundred bucks more. But you might get a TV that's got ok picture and much better sound for a hundred bucks more (soundbars start at about a hundred bucks. There's one here for sale at 89).

So be informed: if you purchase this TV, you are purchasing a monitor with the least quality of sound possible. It's bring your own quality sound. Otherwise you deal with something that looks great but sounds like a transistor radio from the 1920s.

We bought this 32 inch LED LCD for two reasons, first the price. We got our on Black Friday for $350 which is the same price we paid for a 19" LCD a few years ago. We felt this was an outstanding price for the product. Second, we bought the TV for it's picture quality which is great. I use the product in it's RETAIL picture mode vice hit HOME picture mode (Home dims the brightness automatically as room lighting changes where as RETAIL keeps the brightness at full). The sound is adequate for voice only and is very shallow. We didn't get the sound bar as we already had a stereo system to hook audio up to. If you get this TV you will need something else to boost the sound for movies and most of your other content.

I use this tv in my bedroom so im not going for premium sound like others here have done. People make it sound like the sound is just terrible, but its not that bad actually. The picture is absolutely stunning. Crystal clear. Very, very happy to have bought this tv. Perfect for where its needed. For its price at 360, its a steal. Walmart had the exact one for 400 and charges sales tax. Get this tv. You wont be disappointed.

First let me say Vizio products are usually well made. The price for this 32 inch LED T.V. was better than most. But when I first hooked it up I notice all four corners had bad backlight bleeding. The top right was so bad that you could even see it in the bright scenes. I think that LED T.Vs are not perfected yet. Most T.V.s have a little backlight bleeding but not this bad. I have a 42 inch LG and it has a little in the corners when you first turn it on but it goes away after 10 minutes or so. Most of the problems come from the way the T.V. cabinet is attached to the screen. Too much pressure around the edges cause the picture to get too bright in spots. If companies would just figure this out or care more when testing them it would be an easy fix. Also alot of people talk about how bad the sound is and they are right. It really is the worst I have ever heard in a flat screen. I knew this with the reviews and decided that since it was going to be hooked up to a stereo it did not matter to me. Also an easy and cheap fix for most flat screen T.V.s sound is hooking up a pair of computer speakers to it. Decent ones can be found for as little as 15 or 20 dollars. Just make sure the T.V. has the proper hook-ups for the speakers your buying. The T.V. was very nice looking and had alot of nice options. Also the viewing angle was pretty good side to side but up and down was pretty bad so also keep that in mind. The remote felt a little cheap but it worked well. I decided to return it to Amazon after a couple of days due to all the problems. I will say this is the first product I have ever returned and it was very easy. Just go to Amazon and click on return item answer a couple questions and print the label, attach it to the box, and ship it. That is it. I did not want to try another one so I think I will buy a LCD until they get a little better at making LEDs. I have 3 other LCDs in the house and have enjoyed them for quite a few years. The picture was very good other than the backlight bleeding so if you really want to try one it might be worth it to see if you get a good one. You might get lucky! - Led - 32 Inch Lcd - 1080p - 32 Inch'

Gmrs-frs Two-way Radios - gmrs, frs

Those Uniden GMR1235-2 2-way Radios are so compact, you can easily hold both in one hand (see my Customer Image). They are also very inexpensive (around $20 for a pair), so one may think of them as just toys for kids, But in fact they can be used by kids and adults alike - provided that you start with the correct expectation.

First of all, forget about the manufacturer's claim of '12-mile' range. That is only possible under the most optimistic test condition (transmitting from one hill top to another with clear line-of-sight). In an urban environment, you are lucky if you can get one or two miles. With this limited range in mind, this walkie talkie set can still be very useful in many places (such as in a National Park, or a large shopping mall). The sound quality is quite decent - similar to an AM radio.

Next, this thing is a battery-eater if you use disposable alkaline cells (three AAA per radio). The manufacturer claims an average battery life of '20 hours'. But again, this is under a special test condition of '5/5/90', which means 5% transmit, 5% receive, and 90% idle time. The device consumes different amount of current during different operation modes, as shown below:

- While transmitting: 400mA

- While receiving: 50-100mA (depending on volume level)

- While idling: around 15mA.

If you do a lot of transmission, a set of alkaline cells is likely to run flat in less than two hours (because alkaline cells are very inefficient at high current). My advice is to buy some good quality AAA rechargeable cells, such as the Sanyo Eneloop or Rayovac Hybrid, to power those radios. That way, not only will you save money on batteries, you can even get longer run time per charge. Uniden GMR1235-2 12-Mile 22-Channel FRS/GMRS Two-Way Radio (Pair)

I bought a pair to see how they would work for a local communications net and they were great! Sure, they lack a lot of the fancy bells and whistles but they have range and clarity that some of the other hand-held radios in the net lacked. Some of the other members were so impressed, they wanted to know where they could get some. I'm buying some more now before these babies sell out, again!

Good, basic communication option. Fairly long range, easy to use, batteries included, and good price. What's not to love?

Bought these as knock around radios for the kids so they didn't need to play with my nicer Motorola talkabouts. For the price these are excellent radios. They have been tested out to just under 1 mile over water (opposite sides of the local lake). The included batteries are kind of like the inkjet cartridges you get with your printer... just enough juice for you to test the product, but not enough for real work. Don't head into the field on the included batteries! A buddy and I hiked into a high mountain lake to fly fish with these radios and they were great for us to brag "fish on" when we were too far apart to see each other. At $10 each they were a guilt free purchase, even knowing they won't see daily use. Very happy with the quality and performance at this price point.

The battery life is terrible. If you read nothing else in this review, know that. But first:

Upon opening, the first thing you'll realize is that no matter how small you think they are, they are even smaller. They measure about 3 inches tall. Maybe 4.5 with the antenna. They are quite easy to grip though, and look and feel rugged enough to live through a few drops without an issue.

The sound quality in close proximity is great. Anything under 100 yards is very clear, even if you are going through brick walls and steel doors. I can hear my roommate just fine through 3 highrise apartment complexes. At distance, however, the quality breaks down quickly. No one expects 12 miles from a 2-way labeled as 12 mile capable, but 3 miles? 2 miles? Not likely unfortunately. If you get 1.5 residential area you should be thrilled.

The design seems rather straighforward, (volume up and down, channel up and down, power, scan, lock, squelch)The onlything I find odd is the placement of the belt clip. You need to remove it before you remove the battery cover. Makes replacing the battery a little more of a chore since the clip doesn't come off very easily.

Finally the battery life. This comes with 3 batteries for each radio. In the first use, our batteries lasted 4 hours. Now keep in mind, this was not constant communication. This was 90% standbye time. The manual says that after 2 minutes of non-use, the radios will switch to a power-save mode. That seems a little long to wait. They're fine for very casual use, but in any type of emergency situation I wouldn't be able to trust them. It's unfortunate, but I'm going to have to purchase my third set of walkie talkies simply because of the batteries.

Overall, it does fine for the cheap price. I didn't expect to much, but I'd look elswhere for a rechargeable unit if you need to rely on communication for anything critical. - 2 Way Radios - 2-way Radio - Frs - Gmrs'

Great Price - hdmi cable splitter, great price

Like one of the other reviewers, I wanted to split the output from the satellite box to go to both the receiver and the TV. The signal was to weak to get a signal on the TV. Even when the receiver was not turned on the signal was still too weak from the splitter. StarTech.com HDMISPL1HH 1 feet HDMI to 2x HDMI Splitter Cable for Digital Video - M/F

This product is absolutely USELESS!!!.

I was very happy to find a splitter for my HDMI since I have to connect and disconnect from the HDMI socket on my TV my ROKU box which I use in different rooms in my house. This caused my HDMI socket on my TV's to become loose.

I ordered two splitters in order to have them permanently attached to my two TV sets.

I waited with anticipation and when the package arrived ,I immediately plugged them to my TV sets.

To make a story short, I was very disappointed since not only the TV's did not work.I had a hard time after disconnecting the splitters from my TV's,to get the signal on the TV's. I couldn't get the picture back and still today can't figure out why.I didn't know what happened. Weather my TV's burnt??? or it might have burnt something in the cable box or my Roku box.Who knows!

Finally after spending lots of time connecting and disconnecting the different components in order to find out,by trial and error, where the problem was, everething must have reset itself and I got my picture back.

Obviousely very disappointed over the whole ordeal,I returned the items and received a refund.

I thought I would try it due to the price ($12) but it was a waste of time and money. Tried on different pairs of tvs but would not work correctly at all. I wanted to split a Dish HD receiver to 2 Samsung tvs in my kitchen and bedroom, it looked fine on my 46" but the 19" had no sound and a grainy picture. I tried swapping the outputs to see if I just had a bad output but result was the same. So then I tried to use it on my bedroom samsung 46 lcd and on my living room Pioneer 60" plasma and neither Tv would get sound and picture wouldn't even lock on my Pioneer. And yes I tried changing all the resolutions but the result never changed. I didn't even bother returning it, lesson learned never go cheap.

I bought this so I didnt have to keep switching two of my HDMI cables to watch different TVs. When I hooked it up, it was not compatiable to either one. This product will not work with your standard TVs. - Hdmi Cable Splitter - Great Price - Hdmi Switch'

Digital Camera Battery - olympus digital camera battery, camera batteries

I bought this to have an spare battery for my Olympus Stylus 550WP camera. It is a direct replacement for the LI-40B & LI-42B batteries specified for my camera (and numerous other Olympus, Nikon, and Canon models, other devices).

*Higher capacity and life than than the standard battery that came with my camera (1000 mah, vs. 710 for the original battery). In actual use lasts almost twice as long as the stock battery, despite being just 40% more capacity. I get another 35-40 flash shots, at least, with the Maximal than with the Olympus (and the camera and its original battery are only 6 months old, less than 50 charging cycles used), and proportionally more non-flash. Have not tested using VGA video/audio recording in my camera.

*Recharge time is significantly longer given higher capacity (3+ hours for the 1000 mah Maximal vs. 2 hours for the 710 mah stock, in LI-41C charger). I just today recharged it for a fourth time since purchase: the time from flat to full seems to have shortened by over 30 minutes, about 2.5 hrs. now (if you didn't know, most rechargeables [Li-ion, NiMH, and NiCad] show this "break-in"period; capacity has also increased by a small amount).

*Battery came in easy open packaging (noted in another poster's photo), and was nearly at full charge. I will update in 6 to 12 months to comment on longevity & the number of charge cycles the battery will do, but I fully expect it to be typical of Li-ion, around 350.

The verdict: a good quality replacement/spare for the LI-40B/42B batteries, with a bit more capacity. Very good value at my price, which was $5.63. There are cheaper deals for LI-40/42 replacements on Amazon at the moment, but I would recommend this as a good trade off between price, performance, and safety (some cheap Li-ion batteries overheat, burst, or even catch fire; been there, done that). Maximalpower DB OLY LI40B/42B Rechargeable Li-Ion Battery for Olympus Li-40B,Li-42B, Kodak KLIC7006,FUJI NP45, Nikon EN-EL10,Pentax D-Li63

I was scared by the bargain price of the batteries so I bought 2, to make sure I was covered for battery life. I got them and charged them 2 weeks before christmas. It's January 31 today and the first battery is still at half life in a 10 MP camera. Do not hesitate to purchase this battery.

Bought this as a backup battery for my Olympus FE-4000. It was a great price and it works well. I haven't fully tested it as far as how long a charge will last but it lasts as long, if not longer than the original. I gave it 4 stars for the value and becuase it works as expected. If it last a while, it will be upgraded to 5 stars. Very happy that I purchased it and I would recommmend it.

The original battery for my Olympus got tired and would only hold a charge for 12 images. This replacement battery has me back where I need to be. I can take all the images I want and not have to worry about the battery dying. I use the camera for surveying construction sites and often need fifty to a hundred images. - Olympus - Battery - Olympus Digital Camera Battery - Camera Batteries'

Cardio Equipment - schwinn, schwinn 460

I ordered this directly from Nautilus and just recieved it a week ago 11/11/2008.

When you open the box everything is packaged very well and it honestly takes almost as long to unwrap everything and get everything out of the box as it does to assemble.

It states that assembly needs two people but I was able to put it together myself without any problems. After all Men don't listen to instructions anyways right? It took about 3 hours from the moment I started cutting tape to open the box to having it fully assembled and ready to go.

The elliptical looks great and is suitable for any room. Just a note about this machine. I was going to put this in my home gym which is in my basement that has 7 foot ceilings, but after halfway through assembly I realized that this elliptical will make you about 14 inches taller so just something to be aware of.

I was unsure about the "Variable Stride" system and thought the description was a little vague before I ordered it. I assumed that this was controlled via the display console as you would select walk, run, or step. In fact the variable stride is simply determined by how hard you push on the pedals as you are moving. There is two wheels that stick out of the side that hook up to slides below the foot pedals. Although it was not what I expected it is a very effective design and I like how you can determine the amount of effort that you want to put into your workout. I started sweating after about 5 minutes and after 45 minutes had what I felt to be a very good cardio calorie burning workout. One thing I thought was pretty cool is that during a workout it will occasionally tell you Good Job! I know you're probably thinking "so what?" but you'd be suprised what it does to your motivation. It's like there's a little personal trainer in there cheering you on.

The handlebar heartbeat monitor seems to be accurate but takes time to display. The telemetric heartrate monitor seems to be more effective. The cupholder is large enough to hold a remote control and a water bottle at the same time which is nice.

I found it most comfortable to use the moving handlebars when exercising and the motions felt very natural. The stationary handles were nice when taking a drink of water, or taking a little break from the more intense work.

The display is bright and has some useful information including time, distance, calories burned, wattage being used, and rpm. It is easy to change resistance or display info with a simple touch of the finger. For taller people the contrast starts to get dull but this is adjustable.

Overall I am very happy with this elliptical and consider it to be just as effective as the $4000 elliptical at my health club. I am 6' 1" and my girlfriend is 5' 4" and we both felt very comfortable with the feel of the machine. The stroke feels very ergonomic and it is great operating in a forward and backward motion which is very helpful when you get real tired, you can take a mini break by walking backwards for a minute or two while still working your muscles and keeping your heartrate up.

The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was because I felt that the variable stride wasn't explained clearly enough before I recieved it, but then again I am just as happy if not happier than what I expected in the first place. I highly recommend it and do not regret getting it in the least - get ready to lose some weight and feel better about yourself with this affordable, stylish, and effective machine! Schwinn 460 Variable Stride Elliptical Trainer

This is a difficult review to write because I really wanted to like this machine - there are so many good things about it. The construction is awesome, consisting of heavily overbuilt steel tubing with bronze and steel bearings on all moving parts (way outclassing any machine in its prices point), it's well engineered, everything fits well and works smoothly, it's rock solid in operation, etc. This is really a well engineered and well executed machine.

The problem I have with it is in the basic concept of how the variable stride is accomplished. Basically, the "pedals" (and their associated platforms and tubes) slide over rollers that turn a bicycle style crank driving a flywheel. The sliding action drives the crank only with the friction/resistance of the pedals over the rollers - there is no direct connection to the crank. If you want, you can stand still and slide the pedals back and forth over the rollers without moving the crank. Once you get the flywheel going, it's very smooth, but (and this is the rub) the only real force you can apply is in the vertical direction at the forward end of the stroke where you're pushing down on the rollers. The fore and aft parts of the stroke have only minimal resistance as the pedal structure slides over the roller. The hand bars also provide some resistance but, unlike a regular elliptical machine, pulling on the bars does not speed up the rotation of the flywheel. They simply increse the speed/distance of the pedals moving over the roller - which varies the stride length.

Bottom line: it's a great workout for your quads and, yes, you can vary the stride length. But it's not as satisfying or as complete a workout as a conventional elliptical. I'm sending mine back and ordering a Sole e95 - more money, but I tried it at Dick's and loved it. - Schwinn - Elliptical Trainers - Elliptical - Schwinn 460'

Aurorae Yoga Mat - yoga, bikram

As an avid hot power yogi, I, like so many other people have been on a seemingly endless search for a towel that not only stays put and allows me to stay put but is also affordable. I fell into the Yogitoes trap. Everyone had one in my classes so I jumped on the band wagon. It took me weeks of washing it to get it to stop running in the wash (partly my fault for buying the black one, when I knew it would run from reading other peoples reviews, I just thought it would stop)and streaking on my mat where my hands and feet spent the majority of their time. I practice up to four times a week so I was still switching off between it and my regular old beach towel. I knew I wanted another towel, but I was less than thrilled with the results from my Yogitoes and even less thrilled with the price. It was better than the beach towel but it wasn't so great that I wanted 4 more. I searched around, read reviews and found the YogaRat Microfiber towel. At half the price I had to try it. I was so happy with this purchase. No annoying running of the colors, excellent absorbing ability, and even without the Yogitoes nubs, it really doesn't move much AND half the price! If you tend to drag your feet it may come with you a bit, but it is easy enough to fix with your toes while in down dog. Similar to the Yogitoes it works best when you dry it without a dryer sheet. But the material is different. It dries so fast! I always see people in class wetting their Yogitoes and I get it because mine would be slippery until I got some sweat on it, but then once it was more saturated it would get slippery again! So it was a great towel, for 20 minutes of the 90 minute class. With the YogaRat, no need to pre-wet, and no more annoying sliding around. I make it through a 90 minute class no problem and I truly feel that my postures have improved now that I am not sliding towards the end of my practice or constantly slipping forward in something as simple as down dog. I highly recommend this towel to anyone who practices regularly enough to need several towels, and who is looking for a high quality product at a reasonable price. You shouldn't have to be rich to take part in a practice as amazing as yoga. Lululemon and Yogitoes aren't the only game out there. A little extra searching and research goes a long way and was totally worth it for me. I use Amazon reviews whenever I am on the fence about something and I have really come to value the opinion of the Amazon community. I hope this review helps you in your decision making as so many other people's have helped me with mine. Happy Yogging! Yogarat 100% Microfiber Yoga Towel Sky Olive 24" x 68"

I take 12 Bikram classes a week, so I am really into yoga towels. (I prefer to do laundry once a week.) I have carefully selelcted a large variety. The Yogarat towel performs much better than other towels in its price range, and actually is a close second to the Manduka Equa (which is much more expensive). I use a Manduka Black Mat Pro (the best!) which grips very well with this towel. It does not slip around and I am able to hold my grip in all of the postures. The material is pleasant to the touch compared to some of the sticky microfiber towlels such as the Gaiam. The YogaRat lost 1 star in my rating because the towels are stamped with a rat in the center of the towel with the name "YogaRat" stamped in fairly large print. I find this tacky and distracting. I put that side face down, but the rat is still visible somewhat through the material. It is disappointing feature, as the colors are very nice compared to other towels, and the quality is very high.

If one is not offended by patterns or prints, this towel is a very good value.

I was looking for a good yoga towel to go with my Manduka yoga mat. Someone suggested yogi toes and I bought a couple-for me and my husband. Then I realized I needed more but yogi toes was expensive. Looking for a cheaper alternative, I bought one yogarat towel. Since then, I have bought 5 and would get more when they become available. This towel simply surpasses the yogi toes in terms of having to make adjustments. The size is perfect for a long mat. The towel rarely moves. When it does, since it is light in weight, it is easy to move it with your toes. Sometimes I do that when I am in downward facing dog :-)

I would give this a higher rating any day compared to the overly priced yogi toes. Buy this item once..you will always go back to it.

I love this mat towel, it absorbs excellent. A majority of hot yoga towels are expensive, way overpriced. This towel is the perfect match, plus the price is great. I am going to buy one for my husbands and an extra one for me!!!!! Well worth the money. Thanks Amazon!!

I have been doing Bikram HOT YOGA for about 8 months now and I must say using a proper yoga towel over your standard beach towel makes all the difference. I like the length of the Yogarat towel and the weight of it, much easier to hall around than a beach towel. I've tried out several yoga towels and the only reason I gave this one a 4* is because it does tend to move around on your mat a bit, but I am able to grip my feet on it without any problems otherwise.

Weather you do Bikram or your standard yoga if you get to a point where your yoga mat or towel starts to smell funky (even though you clean them after use) wash them in distilled white vinegar and the odor is gone. i use 1/2 a cup in every load of laundry (just because it keeps the color in clothes longer), but I am sure you could use less. I would definitely recommend this mat and buy it again, you can't beat the price!

just an awesome alternative to the expensive yoga towels. considering how yoga towels can be expensive. wicks well and barely moves around with the downward dog when sprayed with water well enough. texture is wonderful compared to the gaiam ones (which is so creepy to the touch!). im happy with the color as well. :) great for starters. :) - Hot Yoga - Yoga - Bikram - Mat'

Chronicle Books - home decoration, chronicle books

It's obvious that this original and vibrant book was designed with great craft and care to be useful to the apartment dweller or home-owner who is looking for direction on where to begin in decorating their space. The following styles are highlighted: simple, natural, modern, flea-market, colorful, floral, eclectic and modern glamour style. There are helpful guidelines in how to create each of these styles in a home. In "Attention to Detail" you'll see accessorizing tips for mirrors, lighting, pillows, flowers and table settings.

The styles represented are fresh and vibrant; this book should appeal to folks who like modern, vintage, flea-market, DIY, urban, retro, cottage, rural, industrial, bohemian, global, mid-century, heirloom, Apartment Therapy, eclectic and any variation on these themes. These are real homes in which you can easily imagine folks living. It is fun to see designers Jonathan Adler & Simon Doonan's home and Vicente Wolf's loft in the mix. If you've ever wondered how one-room living and sleeping would be, Liz Bauer's NYC studio apartment in this book (and Billy Baldwin's from another book) are convincing that you can have a bed in your living room and still look stylish! Loved her space.

This book exceeded my expectations--didn't really know what to expect regarding how 1000 quality design ideas would fit in one book--and think it will be especially valuable to those who want their home to express them and their personal vision of a lively, lovable and livable space. Decorate: 1,000 Design Ideas for Every Room in Your Home

Decorate:1,000 Design Ideas for Every Room in Your Home, by Holly Beckerand Joanna Copestick,is filled with great tips from the top designers. That said, it is still accessible for the layman and is a very insprational--and beautiful--read.

The book is divided into sections:

Space Matters: working with the space you have to create rooms that work and flow

Seeking your style: helps you to determine what style is best for you

Room by room: gorgeous pictures of different rooms and how to maximize the look

Attention to detail: how little details make a big difference

As a designer, I always check out new books on interior design. I was very impressed with how this book is filled with great tips and ideas and is accessible to all--not intimidating as many design books can be.

I highly recommend Decorate and would like to recommend another book that I often give my clients: HARMONIOUS ENVIRONMENT: BEAUTIFY, DETOXIFY & ENERGIZE YOUR LIFE, YOUR HOME AND YOUR PLANET for more tips on how to create the home of your dreams.

I won't lie. I buy a LOT of books. Home Decor books are a favorite. This one has earned a spot on my coffee table (a spot I reserve for the best of the best). Buy it. Read it. Absorb the ideas. I think you'll love it. I know I did. :)

If you like Elle Decor or House Beautiful magazines you will LOVE this book! Excellent coffee table book, heavy too! Styles range from eclectic, quirky to modern with a tiny splash of Country Living added in. I think the Million Dollar Decorators would approve of this book. You eye won't know where to look first, every page is great, I cannot say enough of this book. Loads of ideas for your normal person to flea market person. I have the House Beautiful coffee table books and this is unlike it so it's worth the purchase, no duplication of ideas here. I would compare this book to the Lonny Magazine website as they are similar styles - Buy it, you won't be sorry.

p.s. Holly & Joanna, please start another book as I'm a forever follower after this book.

I really enjoyed this book. I read a lot of design books and magazines each month and this one set a different tone. I think it's a fantastic resource for the home owner who wants to transform their space. The thoughtful layout out helps walk you through the basics of starting a project; planning your space, understanding the architecture of the room, room-by-room examples and ideas, and attention to details. It's filled with creative ideas that make you re-think what you already own, shop the high end stores and plan a trip to the flea market and even look to your own garden for ideas. The directory in the back of the book gives pages of design resources and products to help guide your project and the beautiful photography and inspirational quotes throughout the book were a nice treat.

Having finally got around to redesigning parts of my house, I decided to purchases some books to give me some ideas. I found this book to contain many good samples of design! It even allowed me to determine what style best suited me!

This book is a wonderful source of inspiration, ideas and styles. It is very informative and covers every aspect of interior design from cushions to bed skirts to kitchen and bathroom units. It is written very well and laid out in an easy to follow style. If you are about to decorate and aren't sure what style you like, buy this book, it will help. I recommend this to anyone who needs ideas. I have nothing negative to say about it. Buy it.

This book is simply beautiful. Amazing. Inspiring. And yet, nothing seems out of reach, out of the relm of something that I could do. Besides the wonderful photography, there are great tips, ideas and quotes. Do not mistake this as simply a book of beautiful photographs. I particularly enjoy the floor plans for some of the spaces. I find it easier to visualize the room and acutal layout of furniture and see if any or all would apply to MY space. - Design - Home Decor - Home Decoration - Chronicle Books'

Digital Camera For Kids - kids digital camera, point and shoot

Being that I "repel technology", I really looked far and wide before purchasing a digital camera. This is probably the easiest one I have ever used. You are able to pretty much pop the batteries in it and start taking pictures. It is very compact and easy to slip into a side purse pocket or a pants pocket with ease. I would highly recommend this camera for someone like myself who just wants to be able to point and shoot and not have to worry about too many "bells and whistles". Polaroid 5.0 Megapixel Digital Camera with 2.5-Inch LCD Display

I got this camera a few days ago and it was a very fast delivery! The camera came in perfect condition and i am very well satisfied with the whole delivery in general. I was so anxious to get this camera and when i finally got it i automatically fell in love with it although i had some trouble learning how to work it at first but i officially got a hang of it and its definitely worth the money. The camera looks really expensive, and the picture quality is GREAT. I can see everything clear on the LCD screen and it works great. Its good t keep some extra battery's in handy but overall this is a really neat camera for teens and adults.

For my purposes this camera very well suits my needs. Although a tad confusing at first, it's similar to my Sony 'point and shoot' camera (the one that uses floppy disks for storage). So I more or less relied on my intuiton to use this camera. What helped reduce the confusion was for me to download the user manual (PDF) which is more comprehensive than the quick start guide included with the camera. While waiting for delivery, I studied the manual. I forgot which site that I downloaded it from; but I'm certain that if you do a Google, you'll be able to locate one or more sites.

Both with indoor and outdoor shots, the images were very clear. Despite the cons I read concerning the flash, I had no problems taking indoor images with the flash. Being an avid Paintshop Pro user, I was able to tweak any flaws with success.

My biggest concern is that the camera is a battery hog. To help, I am awaiting delivery on a set of rechargeable batteries and recharger. The set is available thru Amazon. As long as I keep two AAA's in the charger, there should be no problems - especially since I don't take all that many pictures. One item that I'm looking for is a wrist strap which is not included with the camera. It did come with a USB cable which I never seem to have enough of them around the house.

For the money, I have no regrets buying this camera.

I have purchased five of these to give to my technicians to capture pics of equipment on the job sites. I prefer something a little nicer for my personal use, but for basic picture taking, they work quite well and I will purchase more as the need arises. The good thing for me is that if one is lost or stolen, it is not a major tragedy.

Uploading the pictures was almost effortless with the included cable. There is not anything that I really do not like about this camera. It is acceptable in all regards and well worth the price.

We ordered this camera for our son from SANTA and it was VERY DISAPPOINTING!! We read all of the previous reviews and they seemed pretty positive. We got the camera and it looked cheap in the package. When our son opened it Christmas morning and took it out of the package, I have to say it's probably one of the cheapest cameras I have ever seen. It was very lightweight.....felt like it was made from plastic. Although it states that it zooms, there is no actual zoom button. You have to press another button several times to get it to zoom. The picture quality was terrible as well. We had bought our other son a camera, too, but didn't want them to have the same one. We purchased him a Kodak Easy Share, which was the same price as the Polaroid......but in a totally different league of camera. The Kodak was very easy-to-use, takes good quality pictures, and feels like it's well-made. We returned the Polaroid and purchased another Kodak in a different color through Amazon. The return was very easy, but our account has yet to be credited. We got an e-mail from Amazon stating there would be a full refund.

I bought this camera for $40 for my 7 year old daughter's birthday. She wanted a camera and after using her little kids one so much, we decided a cheap real one would work. Out of the box (well, the blister pack) it worked great. The camera took some great pictures...clear and crisp. I was quite impressed. Then, all of the sudden (within the first few days) we noticed that every picture was blurry nor matter what we did. I messed with the settings assuming that a setting had changed. In doing so, I noticed that the front lens was sharp feeling on the edge. The focus portion of the lens had completely come out! I sent it back for a refund.

Great price on this little gadget, but so few features. It was a Christmas gift for a 6-year-old who's had some digital camera experience. The limited functions (like "delete" and "zoom") can be tough to use, especially for her. And there really is no help from the "manual" if you can call it that (barely a flyer).

But the primary issue I have with the camera is the limited storage space and the unbelievable battery consumption. It's 2 days after Christmas: we've been through 2 sets of AAA's already. Not a rechargeable camera. It's a 5 mega-pixels, but used at factory setting, that means you can only store 4 pictures. My hubby managed to adjust it, so now she gets about 10 "keepers" before having to connect to the computer to download. There is a slot for an SD card, but I would've thought the 16 MB of built-in storage would've been fine to start with. Now we'll be heading out to pick up a card so this camera meets our needs better.

It seems to take decent pictures, though we haven't printed any of them yet. We did learn that we couldn't get clear pictures without adjusting the slider between close-up (flower icon) and far away (mountain icon), based on how each picture was framed.

All in all, I'd say it's okay as a first camera, but only if mom & dad are willing to supervise a LOT and to spend an extra $20ish for a reasonable-sized SD card. - Point And Shoot - Digital Camera - Simple Digital Camera - Kids Digital Camera'
