Inflatable Kayak

This has been a great little kayak and I really put it through it's paces last fall on a 5 hour river trip. It holds lots of supplies for a day trip, seems to have no issues maintaining inflation and the supplied spray skirt did a decent job of keeping me dry. Are there better boats out there in the inflatable kayak market, yes. However, if your interested in trying this out without investing too much money, this is the way to go. The boat tracks well and is pretty easy to paddle but obviously it doesn't slice through the water quite as well as a hard shell or the more expensive inflatables. I gave the boat 5 stars just because it's a lot of fun for the money.

On other sites I've seen complaints about the internal tubes being out of place and causing the boat to sit unevenly in the water. This is relatively easy to fix by finessing the tubes as you inflate the boat. If it still has issues, you can open the zipper ports where the internal tubes are lashed to the boats exterior and make some small adjustments although the manufacturer doesn't recommend doing this. Also, the instructions are not clear about the fact that the black strip of plastic included with the boat needs to be inserted into two pockets in the front to lift the deck off of the seating area. A search for the previous K1 version of this boats instructions also can show you what this means. The top deck and spray skirt are not completely water proof but I intend to improve that with an application of water proofing spray like the kind you would use for camping equipment. Finally, some people complained that it takes a long time to dry out. Well, if you leave it folded up or deflated, sure it will take forever to dry. I re-inflate the boat when I get home from trips an leave it leaning against the wall in my garage. This allows it to dry and less than a day. Sevylor Pointer Inflatable 1-Person Kayak

This is an absolutely terrific beginner kayak! Both of my children, 10 and 7 were able to maneuver fairly easy. My hub and I liked it because it's relaxing and it allows you to put your feet inside or outside while rowing. It's also difficult to tip. We used it on a private lake which allowed my friend on his speed boat to swamp my 10 year old daughter. She was not scared of tipping at all. I give it four stars because of the directions: They should show a full design of the kayak, including designation of blow-up holes and the holes for emptying water. Other than that, we purchased a second one for our seven year old son.

I bought two of these last year as an anniversary gift for myself and my husband. The kayaks are very sturdy and durable and they float well. The only downside is that it is difficult to get them pumped REALLY REALLY full of air, once you pull the pump away quite a bit of air leaks out before you can really get the opening closed. Also, my husband had the problem that the one pump hole behind his seat came open once while he was on the river. Luckily the river was very low and he had the pump with him and was able to stop and pump it back up.

We have had a lot of fun in the water with this model of kayak and look forward to many more exciting and relaxing days on the water!'

Audio Jack Bluetooth Adapter - bluetooth, bluetooth audio receiver

I purchased both the Belkin Bluetooth Reciever Belkin Bluetooth Music Receiver and the BluBridge Receiver from two different locations and was going to return the one that I liked the least. So here is a very quick comparison. In the testing I also had one of my friends give his opinion as well. Here is what we both thought:

Belkin Bluetooth Reciever

Sound Quality: Amazing/Excellent 10/10- sounds just as good if not better than standard wired 3.5mm audio connection

Range: 8/10 Line of sight maybe 20-25ft, although I hear that this also depends on your transmitter, I was using Lenovo s10-3t netbook integrated bluetooth and Iphone 3GS integrated bluetooth as source.

Connectability Ease: 10/10, once you have paired it, it stays plugged in to the wall next to your stereo. Example: I turned off my Lenovo s10-3t netbook, the blue light went out on the belkin receiver showing disconnect, I turned the netbook on a day later, immediately I notice the belkin blue light come back on the belkin receiver, and the connect is so fast that the windows 7 startup sound/chime came in through my stereo. Obviously if you connect your computer to a different bluetooth audio device, you will have to later tell it to reconnect to the belkin. But the whole process is super smooth.

Portability: NOT PORTABLE, stays plugged in to wall, this is also a PLUS, because it always stays very ready for easy connect.

BluBridge 3.5mm Mini-Jack Rx - Receiver

Sound Quality: Excellent 9.8/10, wired and the belkin bluetooth sound were slightly better, it was more of a slightly fuller/richer, slightly louder sound with the belkin or wired connection. Note: it is only very slightly better sound. My friend and I could only tell the difference when we used the same song, same sound source connecting back and forth very quickly. In the BluBridge's defence it produces 9.8/10 sound whether on battery power or connected to usb charging.

Range: 9/10 Line of sight maybe 25-30ft, basically I got an additional 5ft of range from the same bluetooth transmitters. The signal did seem stronger, when I would start to reach the max, the signal would break and then regain clear again for 3-4 more feet if the transmitter was stable. With the belkin as soon as the signal started to break, the signal was gone.

Connectability Ease: 8/10, this is mainly because the unit has a battery power saver that shuts off the device when not in use. So you have to hold down the button on the unit for 7 seconds, then connect with your device (Iphone 3GS or Lenovo s10-3t netbook)

Portability: Extremely and Easily Portable 10/10. I use it off of battery power mostly, I have it plugged into my Harman Kardon Go + Play High-Performance Portable Loudspeaker System with Dock for iPod (Newest Model) which can also operate off of battery power (8-D-cell batteries). Makes for a excellent portable sound source.

Testing: Used the Belkin RockStar 5-Way 3.5-mm Headphone Splitter (White) with Harmon Kardon Go and Play, 2 computer inputs, Belkin bluetooth input, and BluBridge bluetooth input, and Logitech Z-2300 THX-Certified 2.1 Speaker System with Subwoofer. Everything was connected at once and audio was crystal clear, from anysource, this really speaks volumes for the Belkin rockstar. And if your wondering, yes I did play the movie "Gone in 60 seconds" from my HTPC throught the belkin rockstar outputing to both the Logitech z-2300 speakers and the Harmon Kardon Go and PLay at the same time, sounded really good.

Before Very Close scrutinizing side by side testing, I thought I was going to be returning the Belkin, because the range was about 5ft less, and it wasn't portable. And playing with them separately 20min apart I nor my friend could tell a difference in the sound Quality, so it is very slight. But I ended up keeping them both. I recomend the Belkin if you have a stationary high end stereo system and have no need for bluetooth portability with your stereo system. Other wise I recomend the BluBridge 3.5mm receiver if you think you might ever want to hook it up to portable stereo. The Ease of connectiblity at the end of the day with the belkin is what made me keep it.

They are both EXCELLENT PRODUCTS, read details so see which fits your need better, I found a need for both.

PS: at the end of the testing my friend said he is going to buy the BluBridge bluetooth receiver, he like it because the sound quality was still excellent, it was portable, and he liked the look of it. Miccus BluBridge mini-jack Rx: Portable, Bluetooth Music Receiver with Stereo Output (1/8-Inch) for Home and Auto systems

Set up : HTC EVO 4G in Car. Used this device to feed my stereo AUX input to avoid having to connect a 3.5mm jack to my EVO everytime I got into the car

Sound Quality : 5/5. Did some tests with this and a direct connection (with a friend connecting either one way or the other while I had my eyes closed) and I couldn't tell the difference.

Initial Pairing with Phone : 5/5 Very easy as the passcode is 0000, which the phone always tries as a default code, so I didn't even have to type it in.

Connection and Reconnection : 2/5 This is the biggest let down. Once the phone and the device lose contact (ie if you get out of the car to go into a shop, etc) they do not automatically reconnect. Instead you have to press the button on the unit, and also tell the EVO to reconnect. Manageable, but not as slick as my Parrot car kit, which reconnects automatically with no inputs from me.

Device Design : 3/5 Would have been nicer if the 2 wires you need to connect (power/charge and output to AUX) were on the same side of the device. This would have made it easier to mount it in the car

One other issue I had, which is nothing to do with this device itself, and has more to do with your cars electrical wiring, is that I was getting alternator whine through the stereo if I was charging at the same time as playing music. This is a well known phenomenon in car audio and is caused by a ground loop being created between your stereo and the input device. There are multiple correct ways to fix this properly, but I took a short cut and installed a ground loop isolator http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001RNNWHC which cured the ground loop and the whining noise - Audio Jack Bluetooth Adapter - Bluetooth - Bluetooth Stereo - Bluetooth Audio Receiver'

Ipad 2 Case Leather

I bought this case for its low price compared to other ones available. Yes, I lined up front of apple store for an hour and a half on the very first day. I really wanted a leather portfolio case and I couldn't find a decent case for iPad2 for few weeks. So when i saw this product, I was quite exuberant with the feature and price. No one has posted the review when I was purchasing the product and I decided to take leap of faith.

The Leather is a cheap synthetic leather. not that impressive.

Good to have a solid snap in button to keep the lid closed.

Seams around the case is a low grade job. I don't think it'll last in the long run... but might be able to last for the life time of iPad 2.

The leather that binds the cover and the base flaps doesn't feel stable. I have been using it for almost a week... and it feels like this bind will be the first to go. It is way too thin. This bind makes me believe that this cover will not last that long.

There is a pretty big gap at the top between ipad and the cover. Enough space get crumbs and other junks to get stuck. This leaves the ipad rear lens exposed quite a bit. I hope that the company had done a better job closing up this gap or make a better fit.

Inner closure rim that holds the ipad2 in place is ok... feels solid enough to hold the ipad. but the rim would not stay flat around the iPad. (I am not sure if I am being too picky... but that's one of the first things that I noticed)

The opening to insert the iPad is at the top. I think is a terrible design. I help the iPad upside down and shook it... and my iPad began to slip out. That flap at the top that goes inside to hold iPad is not doing its job. The flap, which is actually just a thin synthetic leather, has no density and it is not firm enough to hold the iPad in place. The think synthetic leather and wide opening at the top makes the iPad vulnerable to fall. If the manufacturer designed the folder to insert the iPad through the inner side, this would not have been a problem. I don't know why they have decided to design the iPad to go in from the top with minimal protection.

Inner pockets (3 pockets) are quite nice.

The stand is also a nice feature... and it holds the iPad on its side stand nicely. It also stays nicely attached on its back cover when not in use and it's not that noticeable when I'm carrying it around. Wish there was a way to support vertical stand nicely as well... but oh well.

Except for the top, iPad sides are decently covered... exposing only the parts that should be exposed. (Power, volume button, speaker, etc.,) iPad corners are exposed... and if you were to drop the iPad, the edges would certainly be damaged.

The cover adds a bit of density to the iPad2... but not too bad. Feels nice on my hand. Acase Deluxe "Leather-like" Multi-Angle Case/Folio with Stand for Apple iPad 2 - 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, WiFi and WiFi +3G (Black)

Compared to the Osaki case which runs about $80, this folio is great for the price. I was looking for something that looked on the professional side and also had a place for business cards and any papers that I might have to store for the moment. This Acase folio has exactly what I need and looks professional. Although it is not real leather, it has the same feel. The corners are left open a bit so that if you drop the iPad and it falls on one of the corners, it will get damaged. But, if your careless enough to drop your iPad, maybe you don't need one after all. The Acase doesn't come with a stylus, but if you have one, there is enough space on the hinge of the folio to store one that comes with a pocket clip. As the other reviewer wrote, the case is a little on the flimsy side, but for the price, I am satisfied. I store my renderings on my iPad2 and when I show them to my clients in this Acase folio, they all comment how nice and professional they look. That's the reaction that I was trying to achieve. Professionalism.

I recently bought iPad2 after using iPad1 for over 9 months. My previous case was similar to this one with the exception that it didn't have any pockets to keep papers, business cards etc. I tried taking notes on my iPad1 with a stylus etc but found it to be too complicated. I take brief notes (action items etc) during meetings and not write a thesis. So all I needed was a case to keep iPad safe as well as pockets to keep my cards and a few papers to take notes. That way I can get rid of my portfolio at work. I didn't see any other case that does that. This one does that as well as the usual stuff like protecting the iPad and converting to a stand etc. I wish it was a nicer leather product but at least it doesn't cost much. (Though I would pay higher if there was a case with this functionality and in nice leather.) Wish the thread used to stitch were not in contrasting color. That makes it look even cheaper than it already is. Bottom line, it's a great functional case for me. In the interest of transparency, the vendor solicited me to do this review and promised refunding some money for my time. That has induced me to write the review but has not influenced my opinion.'

Berkley - berkley, fishing

The Berkley line or reel spooling station is a somewhat useful device for the price. The set up of the spool station was not too difficult, and the instructions are permanently attached to the bottom of the station, a good idea. It helps if you attach the station to a table or bench with a c-clamp to hold it down.

If you look at the picture closely you will see that a baitcasting or a closed face reel sits in the same position it sits on a reel as a top mounted reel. It really works great for this kind of reel. But I found out that my bottom mounting open-faced spinning reel has to mount UPSIDE DOWN since it sits on top of the station. This forces you to reel in the opposite direction you are used to in order to put line on the spool, or you can hold the entire spooling station upside down which means you can't clamp it. Neither of these solutions is comfortable. In my case I have several vintage Mitchell 300 reels worth the large spools, and they take a long time to load this way. This is something the manufacturer probably should have thought of in the design and added a reversible L-shaped arm that raises & lowers to accommodate both top mounting and bottom mounting reels. Fly Fishing reels are affected the same way as they are a bottom mounting reel. If they update the design, they should address this issue first and a lot of people pointed this out in their reviews of this product on the Cabela's site.

There is a little bit of a learning curve in setting it up and getting it adjusted right. You have to fiddle with the tension quite a bit on the spool in order to get it to work correctly without any line slack, but also not letting it get too tight. Any slip in tension allows to line to tangle around the arm. As for durability, the plastic on the station is very thin, and easily cracked and in fact on my first use the reel mount cracked, but to its credit mine still works even with the crack. There is a hole on the bottom to hang the station on a hook or nail.

There is a great line stripper included, it can be removed from the station, takes two c cell batteries (not included). It removed an entire spool of old line from a reel in seconds. You can buy it separately by the way here at Amazon without buying the whole spooling station too. In retrospect, I would probably buy the stripper separately and try something else for spooling new fishing line. I do like Berkley fishing line and trust the name, and that is why I bought it. If you decide to buy one, shop around to get the best price as there are other pages at Amazon selling the same station under different names with different pics. Then combine price plus each sellers individual shipping fee to get the best deal. Just look for the search term "Berkley Station" and that should bring them all up. Hope this helps. Berkley Portable Line Spooling Station

Well, this was not the line spooler in the picture but the portable line spooler. I have already spooled 3 reels, 2 conventional Penns and 1 Shakespeare spinning reel. I've had no problems at all. The spinning reel was a little hard to get used to turning backwards to load line but after maybe 50 - 60 feet of line it was no problem. This is great if you have multiple reels and change line every year. The included line stripper works great. Over all, this was a great buy.

This looks like fun. This is a gift for someone and I think it will make a fisherman's life much easier. No more tangled lines. No more hours of spooling a line the old-fashioned way. And it fits in any compartment on the boat.

This thing works great. I have been spooling line from line spools directly onto my reels while mounted on the rods. There was no real good way to keep tension on the line while spooling this way, so the line was usually a bit too loose on the reel.

This little gem solved that problem - perfectly.

It even includes a "power stripper" to strip the old line off the reel first.

This is a good idea, but it broke the first time I used it. The little threaded insert that holds the set screw for the tensioners stripped right away. Without the tensioners, you might as well just load line straight off the spool.

I purchased the Berkley Portable Line Spooling Station for use in spooling two new reels. The concept is great but the design is grossly lacking quality and functionality for what is advertised. The spool mounting is just not sturdy enough to provide what is advertised and will not sustain.

I suggest that the current design be sent back to production. - Berkley - Fishing'

Cordless Drills - bosch, cordless drills

I recently bought into the Bosch Pocket Series tools with a PS21. I was beyond impressed at the power packed into that size and enjoyed using the tool - I went around looking for excuses to pull it out. The power was more than adequate for any handyman/DIY job (short of building a deck. It would do it, but I'd still use an impact driver, and/or corded or 18v+ for something like that) But many such tasks require some drilling. I have some drill bits with the 1/4 in hex shank that the PS21 accepts, but I find there is a bit of a wobble, the bits just aren't held as wells as a chuck that tightens down. So I picked up the PS31 to take over when the job requires precision drilling. It's basically the same specs as the PS21 - complete with 265 in/lbs of torque, 2 speeds, LED light and an adjustable clutch - but has the 3/8 in keyless chuck for more drilling versatility. It's a little bit longer and only slightly heavier, but will accept a much greater range of bits. One of the other really great things about this tool, after also adding the impact driver (PS40) to the set, is that it has a built in battery gauge on the tool that the others lack. I admit I've pulled batteries out at the onset of a job, or even out of the other tools mid-job, and inserted them for a quick second into the PS31 just to check the charge. Despite it's similarities to the PS21, I'm glad to have both and would have a hard time parting with either. It's great to finally have such useable power behind such a compact lightweight body. Bosch PS31-2A 12-Volt Max 3/8-Inch Drill/Driver

This compact drill is very well made and a big improvement in its class. The increase in power (which is noticeable when you fire it up), with the compact size is very very nice! (its about the size of the original Bosch PS20-2A). I dont regret the purchase at all. Its very well balanced, the new batteries are more powerful (even noticeably so for my original PS20, which is a nice plus; too bad they dont have an XC battery pack similar to milwaukee for the extra runtime). Here are my pros and cons:

Pros:

--very compact 3/8" chucked drill

--good quality

--good balance and feel in hand

--very powerful

--very easy to use

--better battery packs

--LED gauge is great (its about time!)

Cons:

--kinda pricey

--shipped case is still not that great (same soft case but with a more rigid top and bottom (though the euro version is a stackable

hard case called a L-boxx which Bosch will be selling later in the year this september in a new kit...Thanks for that Bosch, its not like you couldnt do that from the start???).

--still wish the tool could be more of an all metal build, though it is still pretty durable as-is.

In conclusion, i think if you buy this you will never regret it!

This is a nice little drill/driver, but, like many others, I found that the chuck (and chucked bit) have runout (wobble) well in excess of what should be acceptable to a company like Bosch. As someone else noted, this is marketed as a professional tool, not a hobbyist drill or Harbor Freight cheapy, but the wobbly chuck is really unacceptable.

The other thing that is unacceptable is that Amazon will not allow a return of a defective tool for credit or exchange. Shame.

Bought this drill from that big box store. Compared with Milwaukee M12 drill driver, this Bosch is more compact, has more torque in the spec, looks and feels better. Everything looks built with high quality. The drill has very good power and speed. The LED light is 50% blocked by the chuck, but it is still better than nothing. Battery changes within 30 minutes. It comes with a soft case, it will be great if it is LBOXX like the european ones.

However, after used it for a little more then 2 months, the chuck suddenly started wobble, at the same time it becomes difficult to switch from 1st to 2nd gear, the gear box generates noise. The noise can be gone if try to switch the gear again, but the wobbling is still there. It is good that the store's return policy allows to return in 90 days, I returned it.

To me, it is still has the best size, power, great looking 12V Max drill available. But too bad mine stopped working.

This is a light weight drill. The battery seems to last long enougth for most of my installations. The recharging time is about 30 minutes. However after about a month of use, the drill clutch slips and makes a terrible noise. I used Bosch customer no service where they are suppose to respont in 24 hours but a month latter I am still waiting to hear from them. I am now using my drill as a paper weight.

Chalk me up as another person who failed to heed the warnings. In my stupidity i thought the notorious chuck wobble was only present on some of these drills since a fair amount of reviews were positive. Well. My drill arrived with more chuck wobble than the old $40 Black & Decker it was replacing. So checked out the demo units at the local hardware stores and they all suffered the same problem, and speaking to a rep on the Bosch helpline confirmed that the wobble is "by design" and that nothing can be done about it. I believe this statement to be true; from what I can tell its the axis on which the chuck is mounted that suffers from excessive play, so not even replacing the chuck (which is so-so) would take care of it. Furthermore, the gear switch must only be operated while the drill is RUNNING without load. If operated with the drill off, it will tend to stick in an in-between position, causing a screeching sound and stripped gears as the drill is started up.

I really wanted to like this unit due to its great form factor and specs, but poor quality & design trumps that and should not be accepted. Not in an el-cheapo drill and certainly not in a $100+ Bosch unit. The unit is going back to Amazon, I guess to be pawned of to the next fool who ignores the reviews :( At least the return was easy. - Drills - Cordless Drills - 12v - Bosch'

Iphone Screen Protector - iphone, iphone protection

I read the reviews about this product and must say "what the hell did you think you were buying.. it is mirrored" Now that being said.. It is a great product as long as you know that is is mirrored. It is hard to see in bright sunlight, but no problems indoors, especially if you turn up the brightness on your Iphone screen. I bought 5 and have given all to friends who like myself use it as self motivating application for the Iphone. How? Place mirrored film on Iphone, turn on phone, go to settings, turn up brightness, exit settings, point to phone as you look at yourself, and state loudly "You're the man" sometimes pointing with and index finger as you state it increases the applications effects. 5-Pack Premium Reusable LCD Mirror Screen Protector with Lint Cleaning Cloth for Apple iPhone 3G 8GB 16GB / 3G S 16GB 32GB

I would not recommend this mirror screen protector. While it does "protect" your iPhone, it is almost impossible to view your display outside in the sunlight. It also has an annoying greenish color distortion on everything you look at on the phone. For a little more money look for the ZAGG brand screen protector. I got it last week and it is fantastic. It's virtually indestructable. It doesn't have any distortion and no bubbles under the protector. Happy shopping!!

For the price, you can't beat it. Yes, it's true that it's difficult to see outdoors, but any phone with or without a screen protector is going to have problems viewing their phones in the bright sunlight. This also seems to be slightly thinner than another mirror protector I have, which is good. Comes with microfiber in each package. Shipment was fast but never updated--a typical USPS flaw.

I have NOOOOOOO idea what some of these folks are complaining about. I purchased this product in Oct 2009 and I'm back on Amazon to purchase something else and I figured I'd write a review for this product. Anyway, I got the 5x deal and I'm still using the first of the 5.... SINCE OCTOBER!!! I absolutely love this product. 3 friends purchased it sooner after I did and they love it as well. Of myself and 3 others NO ONE has had ANY problems with bubbles etc. It's a FREAKING MIRROR!!!! YOU WILL HAVE A HARD TIME SEEING THROUGH THE PROTECTION SCREEN DURING THE DAY but it's nothing covering your phone with one hand while you use the other can't handle. If you're reading reviews wondering if you should purchase.... WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? GET IT!!! If you've got friends that want it just buy the 5x package and share it. As well I didn't have a SINGLE problem with the fit, application etc NOTHING. It's awesome, really it is. Oh and I'm a 3G user and a friend is a 3Gs user and it works fine for him.

During a recent outing over the Andes, my plane unexpectedly lost power and went down in a sparsely populated area without cell coverage (I have AT&T, of course). I was able to use the mirrored protector to survive by mesmerizing small animals thereby allowing me to catch them with my bare hands. Later I used the iPhone to signal passing search and rescue craft. While waiting for them to land, I shaved, using the iPhone as a mirror, so I'd look good for the cameras. I can't say enough about this accessory; without it, I would be hungry, unfound and unkempt.

I like this a lot, but the corners don't stick very well and gross stuff gets up in there. It doesn't bother me enough not to use it, and for the price, I'm not really complaining. Just so you know, tho, if you're OCD, don't get this. It will bug the crap out of you.

Anyone who has put a label on a DVD or CD knows that you curl the label in the center, position the label over the disc and roll it on from center to edges. Likewise, you do not simply place this screen shield over the screen and push it on. Instead, line the longest edge of the shield up to the edge of the screen and slowly roll it onto the screen from edge to edge, smoothing it on as you roll. In this way, no bubbles will form between the screen and the shield.

The shield is tough. Just one should last for months if you don't put the phone in the same pocket as your keys. With five in a package, it is hard to say when I may be ordering another batch.

The shield comes with a thin film on both sides. The terse instructions state to peel the first film off, exposing the sticky side and place the shield on the screen. Once it is secure, you simply peel the top film off, wipe the screen with the micro-cloth, and you are good to go. Be sure, however, to push out the cutouts for the control button and the speaker before putting the shield on the screen.

How do they market five shields for just $1.50? It is no wonder China is taking over our consumer markets.

Saw this on a friends phone and came home and ordered it right away. I love it and so do my daughters. Great for last minute checks before that special meeting, after dinner and for that annoying eyelash in the eye. - Iphone - Screen Protector - Screen Protectors - Iphone Protection'

Home Studio - microphone stand, home studio

Product arrived on time within the time window seller provided. The reason I chose this stand over others is because of its weight. I wanted a bass mic stand that would not topple over with a heavier mic attached to its end. Product was in excellent shape, looks great and is pretty well constructed! The reason I say pretty well is that the piece that connects boom to stand is made of some type of plastic not steel like rest of stand... whatever.. Still works great and is very sturdy. Thank you! Samson MB1 - Microphone stand - steel

I have looked at and used different styles of bass drum microphone stands and like this one the best. A friend of mine let me use his for awhile and I liked it so much I got one for myself. This one adapts to many situations. I like it.

I just purchased the mic stand for my desk at home. It does the job well. If you're looking to do some desktop podcasting or internet radio, then, it's perfect. Many adjustments to get just the right position. It's definitely not a performance mic, as it does feel a bit filmsy, but, you won't notice the flimsiness except for when you're adjusting it. Adjusting it is a tad tedious, but, you can get a really good position with the microphone after a couple minutes.

I've mounted my Samson Q1U Dynamic Cardioid USB microphone to it. It works well for sure. Then, I attached the standard pop filter, and the microphone started tipping it over. Make sure the boom is aligned with a leg extension, or it will tip over if there's too much weight. Just find something semi heavy and find a way to attached it to the existing counter-weight, and it will be excellent. So this mic won't play nice with your large condensers + pop filters + shockmount at the start, but, just find a good counter weight and all will be well.

It looks great, and will definitely be easy on the eyes in any room. It was a good investment, and all in all, you definitely get what you pay for. If you're hesitant on attaching a lot of stuff to it, then, I would recommend shelling out a couple more dollars for a sturdier stand.

But atleast for me, it does the job, and does it well.

I purchased this mic stand a few years ago, best stand I have ever used and unless Samson has changed their manufacturing methods I would recommend this stand to anyone. I play in a local cover band, 2 to 3 weekends a month and this thing takes the abuse every time!!!FIVE STARS!!!

good microphone stand with a nice heavy base however the tube which screws into the base snaps off very easily. This left me with the threaded part still in the base and a useless aluminum rod and boom. If you are very careful with it, the mic will do ok, but it is not a field mic set up.

.. can't take the product seriously if they don't specify the boom thread size. Is this standard 5/8"-27 thread, or the all too common and annoying 3/8"-16 thread? Sure, there are adapters to be had, but I prefer to keep all my stands directly compatible with all my mics (the included clip is likely to work with a select subset of cheap dynamic stage mics; most mics come with their own clips, particularly important with large diaphragm condensers, ribbon or large dynamics as you might actually use with this stand for a bass drum or guitar cabinet, and the small pencil condensers used for drum overheads).

2/27/2011 update:

I bought a couple of these anyway. And they're really nice stands. The standard thread IS 5/8"-27, so it'll fit any mic clip for mics you might actually use on a bass drum or speaker. The clip itself is kind of a throw-away... it fit a very cheap "Radio Shack by Shure" mic I had (found a couple at yard sale some years back), but not much good for regular dynamics, much less something like a D115 or D6. But the stand itself is better than I expected -- nicely weighted, well made for the price, and both telescoping sections lock in place fine when you want them to. Like most better boom stands, the stand to boom thread is also 5/8"-27 thread, so you can remove the boom and use this as a shorter straight-up stand, if you like.

This is no doubt the best small stand sold out there for under $100 and it cost no where near that! Very heavy tripod base so it's easier to position close in than round base models and it didn't tip even with a heavy mic fully extended. Impressed by the Samson quality. We have several used on our kick drum, snare drum, and guitar cab mics for live gigs. There are also several in my studio under constant use. Dect Cordless Phone

Bought this to replace older Uniden Dect 6.0 phones that were having problems (batteries not holding charge, bad buttons). Very disappointed in this newer equipment. With old Uniden, would get a "searching" message periodically -- once every week or two. This would show up before placing a call, very rarely during a call.

With these Uniden D1680-3 phones, do not see a "seaching" message -- phones simply go dead in the middle of a call (about once per day!). About 50% of the time, the phone will restore itself (haven't lost the call, just neither party could hear the other). The rest of the time the call has to be redialed.

Uniden emphasizes not returning the product, but to call their service line. Did so. This problem must be frequent -- they even have a special recording for it. Had already tried all of the things the recording suggested, except their last suggestion -- replace the phones with something else!!! So, I guess that is what I will do. Uniden D1680 Cordless Phone/Answering system with 1 additional Handset

Lost two days trying to change a message on this thing's answering machine. The greeting we had on this no longer applied, and I wanted to switch it to the anonymous voice, but would it let me? Oh no. All options for changing the greeting disappeared.

Would I recommend this to a friend. No, possibly to a fiend, but never to a friend.

Product support? Only during their Central Standard Time regular business hours. Steer clear of this if you don't want endless frustration.'

Cheap Ipod Charger - ipod accessories, usb

The USB cable looks and feels very similar to the apple one, but the chargers have a somewhat cheesy feel. Then again, that's totally to be expected when you buy a whole set for less than half the price of a cable or either charger alone from Apple or one of the name brand companies.

I also should note that the AC adapter is 100-240v compatible, so it can work worldwide. I was wondering about that when I bought it because none of the tech info mentioned it. In fact, the casing itself was designed to be used with the EU style plugs, and that's why it protrudes from the body of the case.

Also, the items I received look like the submitted picture, and not the MFG's picture, for what it's worth... Doesn't matter much because in any case the items aren't very aesthetically pleasing anyways.

Bottom line, from reading the other reviews it looks like they have QC issues, but I wound up with a perfectly functional set at a great price. Apple iPod USB Travel Kit with Car Charger, Travel Adapter & Cable

The car charger worked great. I could charge my iPod while listening to it. I'm currently trying to use the Travel Adaptor, but so far it's not working. I'm trying to discover the problem. It's not the cord, because the cord is working when connecting the iPod to computer. So, I can't really say anything about how the travel adapter works. But I give the car charger 5 stars. It gets the job done.

edit :: i actually got it to work. it works great. you just have to wait a second for your iPod to display the charging symbol.

Guys,

Do NOT EVER buy this product. I lost my Ipod Nano(8gb) because of this cheap nonsense. As soon as I plugged in the charger into the wall outlet, and connected it to the nano, the charger blew a fuse, and had smoke coming out of it. My nano didn't start after that. No matter what I tried. I took it to apple store, and they couldn't start it either. My warranty was void.

Go for real apple products, not for these cheap chargers. I'm not sure if this company BargainCell is selling authentic products, or just cheap makeovers without ever having tested them out.

Again, do not buy it, unless you want to risk losing your ipod.

The charger worked once. When I removed it from the wall electrical outlet an electrical spade just came off in the wall. These items are so cheap that they break the first time it is used. I wouldn't buy this item again.

so cheap. how could you *not* buy this? it screwed up my ipod after using it for a few weeks. now i have issues powering down my ipod. it won't turn off. weird. i've heard this complaint from others, too.

Great product to have for you ipod.

i own an ipod touch 3G. the wall wall adaptor is awesome. I was skeptical when i saw hte price, but the product is awesome

Don't buy the expensive wall adapter from the apple store, these ones works great and usb cable that you get with this product is awesome too.

so stop looking around and buy this.

So far, I really like the charger. The thing I like the best, is the convenience of not having to find a computer to charge My I-pod. Another good feature of this charging unit, is that it doesn't reset the play count(on the I-pod), just because I'm recharging. I recommend anyone with an I-pod to get one of these. My opinion, they are a "MUST-HAVE" type of item for anyone with an I-pod. The price is Phenomenal for such a necessary accessory for any I-pod Nano. I'm very pleased with this product, and the charging time is rather quick. I would appreciate a "Fully-Charged" indicator lamp that can be seen from a distance, to make aware of a full charge, and is ready to be UN-plugged. I would imagine that it'd be a bit extra in cost for such a feature, but I for one, would be willing to pay for it. As long as it isn't an "exorbitant increase", that is. Again, all and all, a pretty good, and necessary product for anyone owning an I-Pod. Too Redundant? Sorry.... - Ipod Car Charger - Usb - Ipod Accessories - Cheap Ipod Charger'

African Music - africa, war

After having seen the musical back in 2004 in Johannesburg South Africa, I went to the Shows in Basel and Zurich Switzerland too.

What these dancers are doing is just great.

Its a pity that the quality of the DVD doesn't match the live performance at all.

There are not even chapters...

But for all of you who have seen the Show it is a great possibility to remember the power and dignity of the performers!

Have fun and see it over and over again...

Giovanni from Switzerland African Footprint

I have seen the live presentation and the video did not really do the show justice - from time to time it was difficult to hear the voices and the actual filming quality was not great to be truth ful thee video was a disappointment - Africa - Dance - African Music - War'

Unlocked Blackberry Storm

I got my phone but there is a big scratch on the phone frame when I peel off the plastic cover. The phone is working but response is slow. I bought the phone from SellphoneStop. The phone title is refurbised one, but the condition shows New. Actually, it is not new but refurbised one from a very old used phone. There is some gap between the touchscreen and the phone frame and the dust easy goes into the phone. Please pay attention to that if you want to return the phone you have to pay 15% restocking fee and the shipping fee. And the battery cannot be returned. The battery is a faked OEM one, not the genine Blackberry battery. One good point is that the service response is quick. In a word, bad quality with a quick service response. The battery can noly last for 12 hours. No-wifi. Hope this true experience will help you. Regards! BlackBerry Storm 9530 Unlocked GSM + CDMA Cell Phone with 3.15 MP Camera (Black)- FACTORY-REFURBISHED

when i first recieved my blackberry i was pumped. little did i kno that i was jibbed. after letting the phone charge over nite the battery remains to stay on low power and i can only mess with it for about 10 minmutes before it shuts off. it is not nlocked so my att sim card doesnt work in it. i have little patience and time for this piece of crap phone.

i have just recieved my BB storm, it looks as a brand new phone (no scratches and all parts are covered by a plastic layer), the screen resolution is awesome, the battery life is more than i expected since most of smartphones have to be charged almost every single day, i have no problem with the charger, the speaker is louder enough to be heared in a noisy street

the phone comes in a box labeled with Verizon logo on the top and stamped with a Certified pre-owned phone sticker, inside the box you find a BB storm phone with a Verizon sim card inside (not activated) , USB cable, BB desktop manager CD, Verizon softwares CD, user manuel, headphones, charger, and many other leaflets.

i know that BB storm is not a WI-FI phone, it doesnt a matter for someone who have a data plan, but when i put a GSM sim card inside the phone it didn't work, that's why i doubt this phone is unlocked or supports GSM networks, therefore maybe we can't use it worldwide as the seller company claims.

for the customers who recieved their phones in a bad condition or were not satisfied with some of the BB features, I HAVE BOUGHT THIS PHONE FROM ''OEM SHOP'', and as montioned earlier in my review i haven't experienced any of the mentioned problems except for the GSM issue, so you have to find the right seller before making your purchase.

Never bought a refurbish phone but this phone is no good. please dont buy this phone its a piece of junk. numbers does not work and defective charger. worse mistake to buy a refurbish junk. will return. not again.

Hi, please be advised that on the Tmobile network the unit kicks down. I left my profile with them because I had a 9780 (trying this one out but otherwise that is a really good item) and noticed it kept saying edge network. I called in and eventually they guessed it wasnt a tmobile phone. They said (Tmobile pda/blackberry support) the highest I will ever achieve is 2G. To test this I locked my network on 3G only (I live in Houston TX where everthing is 4G around me so I know its not the area) and the service completely failed. Once I selected 3g/2g the service returned. A checked out my tether speeds and see a tremendous difference in speed (I use a tether application not the fee based service from tmobile....I asked them about their fee based on and they said that it wont be offered on a 2G network although that seemed like a putoff as what does it matter what speed I am on...)

In short I am very disappointed that the phone was offered as 100% compatible with the Tmobile network.

I wish i had my product with me today to give an appropriate product review but i have been waiting a month to own this blackberry which i bought from BLUTEKUSA over a month ago. A month after ordering the product BLUTEKUSA has not been able to replace the defective phone they sent me for the order i placed. One of their guys called and convinced me into removing a seller feedback which i had earlier on posted under the seller review section. After pushing me to remove the seller feedback, they have refused to honor their promise to this day. My advice to you if you are considering buying this product is to be ware of the seller. Do not be merely moved by the low prices which are offered. Investigate the backgrounds of sellers thoroughly. I really do not wish any customer has the same experience i have had with BLUTEKUSA in purchasing this product. The seller is as important as the product. Please do not be fooled by low prices!

I have purchased this phone from the OEM Shop and have been trying to return it back for more than two weeks. The screen slides with every touch and the body has many scratches. The phone is not in good condition at all. Contacted the seller two weeks ago for the return and still waiting for their response. Do not buy it!'

Trivia Games

I'm surprised that this game has reviews that are only 3 stars, it is a great party game. It is a blast to play and had all of us laughing. This is not a game for 12 year olds, I would strongly recommend it for people over 18, however. I love that it can be played in only a half hour, I want to scream when other trivia games go over the two hour mark. I thought many of the trivia questions were clever. Bottom line, of the group of four of us, everyone thought this game was awesome. Smart Ass

This is a straight forward trivia game, and unlike trivial pursuit, each game lasts 30 minutes tops (with 4 players). We have an 18 year old who found most of the questions were beyond her, but our 21 year old did fine with it. I definitely wouldn't recommend it for younger teens unless you team them up with an adult to help. We had a lot of fun with it, and when if you lose, play again- most of the games were over in 15-20 minutes.

Smart "Alec", as we have dubbed it in light of the fact that there are kids around us, is actually pretty fun. It is a trivia game that allows you more than one clue. This game is great for the trivia game player that needs more clues to guess the word.

Smart A-- has a box of cards and each card has ten clues on it that go from very vague to very specific. As the reader reads the clues everyone else tries to guess the word being described. Don't jump the gun though because you only get ONE guess! A clue may start out as: "a place in the northern hemisphere" and get down to "an island near San Francisco" with all the clues in between helping to describe the word.

It was very fun, and with the different categories it kept the game fresh. If they could only change the title.

We played this with 20+ year-olds through those in their 60's and had a lot of fun. Because questions ranged from very recent topics to more classical history-type questions, all ages were able to answer questions and be a part of the game. Also, given the progressive nature of the questions, we rarely had a round with a question that went unanswered. This is a game for individuals, not teams, and you can have from 2-8 people play. Since we'd spent much of the weekend playing team-oriented games, this was also a nice change. Highly recommend.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned that this game was developed in England and many of the questions have to do with England and are written from a British point of view. That's not a criticism, nor does it make the game any less fun, but it's a fact. The game is a creative version of a Twenty Questions type trivia game and we had a blast playing it for FIVE HOURS straight.

I purchased SmartA** as a Christmas present for my boyfriend, and we played it Christmas night and had a blast. I think that kids can play this game, and that it is very educational. My 9-yr old son, and two teenage nephews played with us, and everyone was able to answer some/all of the questions. My son was able to answer questions with fewer clues than the adults! I would definitely suggest this game....so much fun!!

This game can be played quickly. When I played with 2 other adults (all of us in our 50's), we felt that some of the questions were poorly written (they start in first person "I" and then go to third person, "it") and that some had strange context (do kids age 12 really have to be asked, "What am I" and have the answer be "condom"?). Maybe we're a bit too conservative but none of us felt that we'd like to play the game with a 12 year old and have the "condom question" be asked!

So we're four late twenties "grown-ups" that have recently started holding a regular game night in attempts to spend less money socializing. It's been great fun, and this game has quickly became a favorite in the rotation. Love that everyone is involved at every turn, so there's no down time where you feel like you're waiting. But the real stand-out for me is how QUICK it is. For people who enjoy trivia games (which we do) this is a unique and desirable feature. Awesome when you can't commit to a full trivial pursuit game. We usually play twice and it takes less than forty minutes. My only quibble, is that the "shiny" factor of the cards is so intense that they're REALLY slippery. Makes the decks fall over constantly. But overall, money very well spent.

I bought this for my 12yr old, and besides having to set aside some cards because they are things he has never heard of, it is a blast to play. Quick game, takes maybe 20-30 min at the most. We end up playing 3 times in a row to see who really is the Smart A@@!! I recommend it for anyone with middle school age kids, may be to hard for younger kids, and as an adult I find it amazing at the things I do not know! If you like playing games with the kids, and like playing quick games rather then being stuck for hours playing, this is it! There are enough cards as well that the 20 times we have played, we have not gone through them all yet! There are a few cards that would not be child appropriate, like there is one in there that the answer is Viagra, and the clues are more adult then what I would have thought, but other then that we love it!

We bought this game for a family vacation and played it several times with ages 8-70. We made some consessions for the two youngest kids so that they received two answers instead of one. They did well with things they are learning in school..explorers, states, inventions, authors. It did get very competitive and there was lots of screaming and laughing. I recommend this for playing with lots of people since there is no writing answers and it goes quickly. We all learned a lot on different subjects. We also loved "Say Anything", "Loaded Questions" and "Buzzword" with the same group of people. Some answers to loaded questions and say anything started getting a little graphic and vulgar but it just made the games funnier.'

Video Camera Stabilizer

As an independent and very low budget filmmaker, I needed a handheld rig that would allow for steady and smooth camera work, would be affordable, and would be versatile enough to use in several applications. I stumble across the Fig Rig while researching handheld rigs. I was very skeptical on how well the Fig Rig would work, considering it is a giant steering wheel. When I went to the photo store to purchase (on spec) the Fig Rig, I laughed out loud and exclaimed "what a piece of crap, this won't work." To my glee, it is friggin' phenomenal. It is lightweight and easy to use. Most importantly it is effective. You can actually run with this thing and produce a usable image comparable to and even better than lightweight Steadycams and FlowCams. Love it love it love it!

Oh by the way, I rigged a Panasonic AG-DVX100 to the rig. Took about 20 seconds to balance and off you go. Not sure how it would work with a heavier camera such as the Cannon XL-1. Manfrotto 595B Fig Rig Video Camera Stabilizer Support

I'm not a DP myself, but I bought it for our film after watching the horror film [REC]. We even talked with the DP of that film, Pablo Rosso, who recommended it. We're shooting with the Panasonic HVX200 just as they did, and while I just threw my Sony VX2000 on it to try it out, it was amazing!! Unbelievably lightwieght - - makes you almost wonder where that money is going - - but in the end, it's worth it.

The stability it provides, by having both arms extended, versus have your arms tucked in to your body, holding a shoulder cam is amazing. Even with the weight of the camera, it felt lighter than normal. Definately worth it, to have a cheaper "steadicam", and avoid the shaky-cam look.

I ultimately decided to go with the figrig over any type of stabalizing arm because of its ability to shoot sideways or upside down. Extremely easy to handle, and it didn't require any construction. It's delivered ready to go.'
