Earbuds For Cellphone - handsfree, hands free

I purchased this product so I could chat with my family while driving to and from work. It conveniently fits in one ear without the headset looking microphone so you don't feel like you are working at Old Navy or in a call center. You should be sure to plug it in before driving so there's no extra fiddling around, the only inconvenience associated with non-wireless capabilities. Quite often the person I am speaking with complains of not being able to hear me very well, but after a microphone adjustment it seems to be aleviated. Plantronics Mobile Headset for Most Phones with Standard 2.5mm Headset Jack - Audiovox, Blackberry, Kyocera, LG, Samsung, Sanyo, Treo

This headset is great. My friends can hear me better when I talk with the headset plugged in than without it. And I hear better too. I used a Motorola headset before but the Plantronics is far better than the Motorola.

I'm on my second headset (I literally wore the first one out) and love it. The earclip is comfy and the earpiece never falls out of your ear and the sound is good. The extra clip on the wire keeps it from getting caught on things. I drive, garden and do housework wearing this. Love it.

Microphone - for a bud - is pretty good, with windscreen that's effective at 10mph or so. The rubber that clamps the earlobe is rather rigid, annoying after a while. A seam in the clamp really hurts after a while, but it's easy to cut with a razor blade. Output sound is relatively loud (efficient speaker) but sound quality is rather muffled. It's OK for speech, and an elderly person might not mind the sound, but this is certainly not for hi-fi music. No treble. Cheap, and I certainly would buy it again.

This is excellent for cellphone use while driving, because you can hangup or pickup your phone with a push of the button at the ear, no need to look for the on-hook/off-hook button on your phone. And it's loud enough you could hear over your car noise. Microphone is good at stopping wind noise, but not for stopping car noise. But beware - another model (same price, looks identical in photographs) does not have this pushbutton feature, and it won't work on all phones. I use it with a Palm Centro.

This headset is affordable and has decent sound quality. However, I've owned 3 and have found that they quit working after 3 months or so. Would only recommend them if you are okay with their disposable nature.

This headset lasted a little under 6 months. In the end, the microphone stopped working. Since this type is the only one that works on my ear, I ordered again and will see if this lasts a little longer. I am not hard on this equipment either. Thanks.

mic hang on ears ok, i wish that by pushing the outside button enable you to answer incoming call without fliping the cell phone - no, you still have to flip the phone, close the phoce and begin talking.

i suggest that you shop for such a feature in the phone store, try it out before buying.

Not snappy like Bluetooth earpiece mics, but then again, it doesn't drain my phone battery either. It fits comfortably and stays in place, especially with the clip around the earlobe. A nice surprise is that it has a button that turns on voice-activated dialing. - Hands Free - Handsfree - Plantronics - Earbuds For Cellphone'

Oxo Good Grips - cutlery, knife sets

i just got this set for my new apartment, and overall, i'm really happy with it. the knives are very sharp, ergonomically well designed, and look pretty on the counter. that being said, you should know that this set is not one of the higher quality henckels sets - a fact betrayed by the price. they are very light and somewhat delicate, so a bit difficult to weild with control, and poorly suited to cutting through tougher material such as bones. of course, some may find light knives convenient, but i would have preferred heavier blades and handles, especially on the bigger knives. the santoku knife was the most disappointing because it was thin and very light. the rest are fine as they are, and cut with great precision, especially given the price. there are a few of extra slots in the block, which, while strange, came in handy for my old homeless knives. also, the set pretty muuch covers the range of needs and preferences for cutting absolutely anything (except bone-in chicken/fish, since the knives are a bit delicate). if you're not looking for a lifetime keeper set, then this is a great set for you. i really love mine, and plan on keeping it until i can splurge on a $$$$ set. J.A. Henckels International 15707-000 Fine Edge Synergy 17-Piece Knife Block Set

I've had these knives for several weeks now and have to say I'm impressed. I did quite alot of searching before settling on these-and I'm glad I did. The quality is excellent, they are sharp and easy to use, and the set-though there are a few empty slots to add to it later-came with every type of knife I need. I pride myself in my cooking-I make everything possible from scratch and cook several meals a day, and I can't imagine a scenario where I'd say "if I only had another knife".

I see myself getting many years of use out of these. They come with a rod sharpener so that I never have to see them dull, or send them in anywhere to be sharpened. The block is sturdy and looks good with my kitchen decor.

I was leaning toward cutco brand before I decided on these, but I just couldn't justify the price of cutco. I'm not disappointed, I think I got more than my money's worth out of these.

One thing I have to add about other reviews I read before I bought these....I almost didn't get these because so many people complained until I saw that most negative comments were about the rust factor. ANY chef's quality knife is going to rust if you don't take care of it, it's actually a sign of the type of metal that good knives are made of.

If you are looking for a set of knives that you can throw haphazardly into the dishwasher, or leave lying around in the sink-these are not for you!!!

These must be hand washed after use and dried completely by hand with a cloth-that's why you see professional cooks constantly wiping their knives on an apron or towel as they work.

For best results, you're going to have to sharpen these about every half dozen uses, especially if you are cutting something like tomatoes-world's worst wear on any knife-of if you're cutting board is made of anything besides wood. It doesn't hurt them to sharpen them as needed, and better safe than sorry-a dull knife is a dangerous knife.

About six months ago, I was walking through the discount knife section of a local department store when I saw this line's santoku and vegetable petty knife on sale for $20. In the world of cutlery, $20 is nothing, so I bought them just to see what it was like. It quickly became one of my favorite knives in my kitchen. The factory cutting edge is a little lame and overall the line feels too light to do much heavy cutting work (i.e. frozen meats, chicken bones, or thick vegetables). On a positive note, with some time and love, the edge can be ground down to be extremely sharp (enough so that I use it to cut tuna for sushi in my restaurant). Like any knife that I like, I take it to my restaurants kitchen and try it out to see how many days it can go before I need to regrind the edge. Surprisingly, it held up for an entire week without needing to be resharpened. In short, for the money, you would be hard-pressed to find a better knife.

I bought this set to replace a set of bargain knives i had that were rusting. I never put this set in the washing machine, hand washed only. Didn't matter. Started with small rust spots on even unused knives within a few weeks. Now i have to scrub knives to remove the large rust spots, small ones don't come off.

Aside from the aesthetic looks, this is just as bad as the $30 or cheaper sets. I live in Hawaii, so perhaps humidity had something to do with this. But i see no difference from this set and the bargain ones.

things that i wish i had known about this knife set:

1) the steak knives ARE NOT SERRATED. I cant recall ever using non-serrated steak knives, and what's more this set does not come with a serrated knife besides the bread knife, which is not proper for cutting, for instance, tomatoes.

2) the 8-inch utility knife, paring knife, and 8 steak knives all have a lip on the handle that sticks out forwards further than the blade.

3) the knife block is not the one shown in this product picture. it is black, rather than wood. it has extra slots when filled, and looks kinda cheap.

4) a chefs knife is typically a little wider (from the blade, to the back) than this one but that's mostly a subtle preference.

however...

5) the santoku knife is excellent. I learned to cook using them, and I'm glad to see that they are being put into typical knife sets these days.

I can't give a pro's take on the knives but I can def give a college student's view.

The knives are lightweight and they've cut everything I've needed to cut so far. I haven't sharpened them since I've had them and they still cut my veggies and other random foods. If you're a professional chef then you're probably not looking at these knives anyways.

If you're a college student with a budget then these are the best looking knives for sure. I have a condo that's decked out in modern motif and they fit right in. I love finding products that are sleek yet functional. There's no shame in wanting functionality AND style.

I hand wash them and that's just my preference so I couldn't say if they're dishwasher safe or not. I've had no rust or water spots on them.

The blades are sharp enough to cut your household groceries.

The only thing that bugs me is that there are 4 open holes in the block. I haven't the slighest idea what knives are missing. The middle block is square so I'm thinking that's for a pair of scissors. I emailed Henckels and asked so if I get a response I'll let people know what knives will fit what slots.

That's another problem I had. I couldn't figure out which knife went to which slot. The slots aren't contoured so some of the knifes are loose in their slot.

Again, this isn't a pro's view...it's just an average consumers. - Henckels - Cutlery - Knife Sets - Knife'

Seidio Droid Case - motorola droid, case

Before I talk about the Seidio case itself, I want to talk about my experience with my search for a case leading up to purchasing the Innocase Surface case.

On the day I bought my new Droid, the Verizon people talked me into adding this "package" deal that included car kit and a Body Glove Hard Snap-On Cover Shell Case for Motorola Droid A855 cover. The guy at the counter even had it on his belt clip and showed it to me - I though it looked good!

I get home, play with the phone a bit and I go to put on the Body Glove case. I would say I was content with it. Although a tad bulky for my taste, protecting the phone is what matters most. However, there is something else that matters to me with this phone, and that is the use of the physical keyboard. The first time I tried to slide the screen part out to use the keyboard, it wouldn't move. I took a look on the side behind the slider part where the case's "latches" (that hold it on) are and I was a little surprised to see that they were so big and bulky that it was blocking the slider from sliding. This is a HUGE flaw on the part of Body Glove and I don't understand how those cases made it out of the factory and through quality control inspection.

When I went back to Verizon to return it, I talked to the same guy who had that case on his Droid. Needless to say, he initially disagreed with me when I told him it didn't fit the phone properly. He even looked at his phone and said "yeah, it catches a bit, but it works just fine after a while of working it in". I said... "um, NO..." and pointed out to him on HIS phone how the case was slightly pushing the slider up and on an angle when he slid the screen out. He just shrugged, didn't ask any more questions and refunded me the $30 or so. I didn't think I needed to explain it any more, but I was not interested in testing the strength of the slider by "forcing" it open over those latches, nor was I interested in a case that would require "working in". No thanks!

I then went on a search for the right case for my new phone, hoping to find one that actually fit properly and protected the phone. I read a lot of forums and discussions on the subject. Many people were actually blaming Motorola for developing a phone that wasn't "case friendly". HA! I kind of thought the same thing for a while..... but then I found some discussions on this new case by Seidio, and every review I read praised it. I didn't read one negative review on the case, which intrigued me more.

After about a week of researching the case, I took the plunge and ordered the Seidio Innocase Surface case, praying it would work out. I usually prefer to see a case in person before I buy. This time I went with a few pics online and a plethora of positive reviews.

I received the case, applied it to the phone and all I could think was... This case is PERFECT!!! I was SO relieved and happy to find one that works the way I wanted/needed. My needs and wants were to have a case that would allow me to slide out the screen with NO added friction, protects the corners, edges and back of the phone and that didn't have a bulky knob for a belt clip or holster.

The surface is hard, yet soft to the touch - almost like the phone back itself. The case doesn't make the phone look bulky, but it does make somewhat of a "square" phone look a bit more rounded contoured. It gives the phone a slim look, which is a 'plus' compared to most phone cases out there. It slides in my pockets just fine without catching or sticking and it doesn't seem too difficult to remove it, if needed.

The case picks up fingerprints a bit, but that doesn't really bother me too much. I just care about the screen being clean and make sure that is also protected. I use an InvisibleShield screen protector, which is the perfect combo with this phone.

After 2 weeks of use, frequent trips to work and on the road, I have use this phone with the case on and have had no issues with the top part popping off or any other mechanical issues, as what many others have complained about with other cases. I will say that I have not (yet) dropped the phone, so I can't say what happens or how the case holds up if dropped. I'm not particularly interested in testing that scenario with this phone. :) But if I were to take a guess, I believe this case will do a great job holding up to the impact and, at the very least, take enough of the blow to save the phone if it's the normal drop from your waist or counter top.

The Seidio case is the only case that I know of that fits the Motorola Droid properly and the only case I would recommend to any Moto Droid users. Not only for the fit, but for the soft-touch feel, ease of access to the physical keyboard and side controls/buttons and also a slim and sleek look overall. I couldn't be happier!

*** Additional information (March 6, 2010) ***

I know many people wonder about the compatibility of their Droid with this Innocase cover and the docking station that Verizon offers. Well, although it has been confirmed that the phone with Seidio case attached will NOT fit into the Verizon (Motorola) dock, Seidio has in fact made their own docking station and you can find it on their site and it's called the Seidio Innodock. (I had a link here, but Amazon would not allow it to be posted.)

This docking station will allow you to dock the phone with OR without the Seidio Innocase cover attached to the phone. I do not yet see this Innodock being offered here on Amazon but I imagine it may be soon. I just recently found it as I was browsing through the Droid forums and I am planning on ordering it ASAP! Perry Ellis Mens Microsuede Blouson Jacket, Dark Khaki, Large

This is a well-made jacket. The description is nearly lacking, but in addition to the two external pockets, there are two internal pockets, one is probably a cell phone pocket. The jacket has a certain leather-like 'stiffness' to it.

As for fit - I'm 6'1" and of normal weight. If I had my way - they'd offer Medium Tall for all men's clothes. I could wear many mediums - but the sleeves are often too short. So I usually wear large. This coat seems a tad roomier than average for a large - good for builds more athletic than mine, but the sleeves are only about average length. In short, I picked the right size for me. Perry Ellis Mens Microsuede Blouson Jacket, Black, Large

What a fantastic buy from good ole Amazon. I wasn't in the market for a jacket but the price offered by Amazon made it seem like a steal so I "bit" and I have no regrets. Here in the mid-west it fits those "in between" days when a winter coat is too much but a light weight jacket doesn't quite keep the chill away. Looks slightly dressy but still appropriate for casual wear. - Michael Michael Kors - Coats - Parkas - Leather'

Earbud Headphones - fitness, earphones

These are the best earphones for running I have ever used. They don't budge once you put them in and their sound quality is fantastic. They come with two sizes of hooks which is a first for me. It seems like more companies would design earphones that way because it just makes sense since we all don't have the same size ears. The ones attached in the package fit me, but I did try the larger ones too and they change out very easily. The nice thing about these is the earpiece rotates on the hook so once you put the hook over your ear, the earpiece can be turned into the ear so it will stay securely in place with no additional effort. I can't tell you what a nice thing that is because the constant adjusting of earphones really detracted from the pleasure of my run. I like to plug in and go, and so far I've not needed to adjust these once, they don't budge. They come with three sizes of ear cushions which is part of the reason they don't budge too. With ear canal earphones, you need a snug fit to help keep them in place but more importantly, to get their full sound quality. Once you get a good seal in your ear, you'll be treated to their exceptional sound. I'm no audiophile, but I know good sound when I hear it and these are very, very good sounding earphones. The music is crystal clear and the bass response is very good. When you consider the price and their functionality, not to mention the case, which by itself is very nice, these are a great deal. I'll be recommending them to my friends for sure. Sound-Squared "Sport" Headphone Earbuds Earphones w/ 2 Earhook Sizes and Earphone Case - Great Value!

I've been through a slew of headphones lately, seeking a pair that won't fall out, won't hurt my ear where it rests after just 15 to 30 minutes and has great sound. These fit the bill perfectly. I was able to wear them all day while I worked and not once did they fall out, even when the cord got caught a couple times they stayed well enough in place to not be annoying. My ear doesn't hurt from wearing them for hours and the sound is perfect. I'd highly recommend these!

I'm so happy that I got these earbuds. I wasn't sure if I should get them because the price is so low. However, the reviews looked good so I figured I'd try them out. I run about 4 miles each time I'm out and have not had to mess with them at all (which I was doing with my previous pair). Also, they come with little extras, like extra buds that formfit to your ears and a carrying case. As a bonus, the carrying case is the perfect holder for my new ipod nano(the tiny one that clips on). I am very happy that I bought these!

I almost never write reviews, but I really had to for these headphones. I bought them primarily for when I work out. As a rule, I never pay much for anything I workout with: shoes, clothes, headphones. I'm not doing speed walking at the Y, so I literally destroy everything that I wear. Extreme sports? I do those in my sleep, and what I do while I'm awake and working out doesn't have a name. Let's just say I pound 9 red bulls to relax after a workout. So how do these hold up?

It's been almost a week now, and I've probably used them for about 12 hours. The sound is really good, they have withstood COPIOUS amounts of sweat, and been stomped on a few times...accidentally of course.

They are such a great fit, although I did the Goldilocks routine of the ear canal pieces being too big, too small, and the last ones...well, you know.

One last thing, I wear glasses, and I find it to be a pain with over the ear grips on ear phones. These DO NOT mess with the arms of my glasses at all, and once I set them in, they don't move much! Could you find a better set of earphones? I'm sure, but not at this price. You'd be looking at paying three times as much, at least! Make a smart purchase and BUY these, you won't be sorry!

These are fantastic earphones!!! The sound quality is amazing, and 10 times better than what you would get out of the standard iPod earbuds. I would go so far to say they are pretty much noise canceling. Plus, they are very fairly priced. They fit very comfortably and are perfect for smaller ears when fitted with the small earbuds. They are also much quieter and don't emit as much sound outside of your ear as a lot of other headphones do. I don't feel like I'm disturbing the people around me when listening to music loudly. If you are looking to get a lot of bang for your buck, then look no further!!

This is my second pair of these headphones. I absolutely love them! They're the only ones I've found that are reasonably priced and actually stay in my ears when I'm running or working out! They come with three different sizes of inserts in case your ear canals are small. I can wear them for hours and they don't even hurt my ears. Plus, the sound is great!

I've had these for about a month. They have a pretty decent sound quality, especially for the price. However, they don't fit quite right in my ears. When running, they slowly work their way out of my ear canal and the sound noticeably deteriorates. If I'm wearing them just to lift, or listen to music, they are great! I bought them with the purpose of using them during runs. I guess it depends on your intended use. There are only two sizes of ear hooks, so it is also difficult to match them up to the multitude of ear sizes out there. If you're buying them for low impact to no impact activities, I would highly recommend these. Not a good choice if you're buying them to run with.

The best part about these earphones is their functionality. They are sooo comfortable. Once I put them on they stay in place and I don't feel the earhooks. I bought these to replace earbuds that sounded great but would fall out every time I worked up a tinge of sweat. These were a outstanding replacement. They also have a great sound with some good base. - Fitness - Exercise - Earphones - Ear Bud'

Bucket Boss - bucket boss, tool belts

I got tired of the disorganization of too many things in the nail apron. I know I should keep the apron for nails, but other things find their way in there anyway. I would have appreciated this DeWalt pouch more if I could carry a hammer with it, but I knew it wasn't set up for that, so no one to blame but myself for this. I think the pouch works better after it loosens up from use, but I still found the various compartments too tight for most things. The main compartment is going to be too small if you have average-to-large hands. A bit of a chore retrieving items from there. I gave this product to a slighter built person who seems to be doing well with it. He still finds the various compartments and holders a little too snug though. Nothing falls out, but not always easy to extract when you want a particular item. I purchased a similar product from Husky and I'm much more pleased with that one. This DeWalt pouch may have a difficult time with a large tool belt. It's a good product if you have smallish hands and only a few, small items to carry. The Husky pouch is just that much more generous. I often end up needing a tool or two more than I thought and the Husky pouch is good for this. Both are well built and should stand up to normal use. A nail apron and a pouch like this is often all you need - depending on your project. DEWALT DG5101 Small Technician's Pouch

It's small, but it gets the job done! It has just enough room for the tools I need on EVERY job. I use the weighted sleeve and slip it between my pants and belt. This is because I'm short and the belt snap has the bag hanging a little lower than I'm comfortable with. This is because I get in and out of my truck about 40+ times per day, so I only take the bag off for lunch and restroom breaks. Also, the sleeve makes it easier to take on and off. It is also slim enough to just stuff into the back pocket of most work pants. The large compartment is deep too, so you can get smaller items tucked in without worrying about them falling out. All in all, this is a nice, sturdy little bag!

At first I couldn't figure out what would be best in this... Then as time went on, and I started doing stuff around the house, I would just throw things in. Skrewdrivers, swiss army knife, tape measure, stud finder, pliers, wrench, pencil, wire stripper, electrical tape...

now when I need to do something, I just pick this up and no more searching the work bench or house for my most commonly used tools.

Was a great gift from my Wife, and I love it.

As a disclaimer, I am not an electrician and do not use this pouch exactly as it was intended. But I do use it to carry equipment for my work, and it works great for my needs. The pouch seems very high quality and durable. The large pouch part seems to be reinforced with several layers (presumably so sharp objects don't poke through?). For what I use it for, it would have been slightly better to have a belt clip for easy removal, but that's a minor issue for me and I would suspect that most people would rather have the belt snap anyway to know that it wouldn't fall off accidently. For the money, I am impressed with how well made this pouch is. - Bucket Boss - Belt Clips - Tool Belts - Tool Holsters'

Kindle 3 Covers - kindle, e-reader

I was worried about getting this but the case is nice, sturdy and well made and what a great price. I did bling it a bit but that's beause it is sturdy enough to do so.

Had bought a jelly for the kindle but now don't need it. Latest 3rd Generation Kindle 3 E-Book Reader Black PU Leather Case / Cover - by Abacus24-7

While I agree with the rest of the commenters that this little case is both economical and looks pretty good, and does its basic job of holding the kindle, I have to comment on something I haven't seen brought up so far - the overpowering chemical scent!

I know real leather has a scent, but this is not *real* leather, and whatever chemical was used on/in it has forced me to leave my kindle out in the open unprotected, while I put the case out to air (that didnt work), and finally I dunked it in some hot soapy woollite water - it was that bad. Im hoping the bath helped, but I took the risk of ruining it because I dont know where this piece was made, or if the chemical scent I was smelling could eventually cause me or my family harm. I'll see whether or not it is usable in the morning. Im a little disappointed because it really does look good.

*****

UPDATE

I did some research and found that this chemical scent is mentioned when reffering to PU 'leather', it is not really leather and it is prohibited to call it so in some countries overseas. It is said that the scent will fade over time. One thing that I wouldve really appreciated with this item is more information on where it was made and with what materials. NO information came with the case, and if it was made in a country that does not care to use material that isnt dangerous - how would I know that? What kind of quality control does Amazon do for the items featured on its site?

I was surprised to see a leather case for under $6 after shipping, and by the picture, it appears that the case holds the Kindle 3 better than cases with four elastic or leather bands in the corners. When the case arrived, I slipped my Kindle in the top and then frowned--what was to keep it from slipping out the top? I turned the case upside down, and the kindle slipped right out. But I fixed this problem by taping a piece of Velcro to the top of the kindle and the inside top of the case. Now the Kindle is secure, but I think a little bit of foresight on behalf of the designers of this case could have avoided this problem--maybe a leather strap. The case closes shut with a magnetic clasp--I'm not sure if I like this as it can open easily, but then again, if it is packed away, it would probably be fine, and then the convenience of opening it and closing it easily is a bonus. So, for $6 and a small piece of velcro, I'm very pleased to have ordered this case and would recommend it to whoever is reading this review--just get yourself some Velcro ahead of time.

The cases that Amazon offered seemed very expensive to me, so I tried to get some alternatives...

When I got to this product I found it quite nice, but I was a bit unsure about its quality. Then, I received it, and I was really satisfied. The Kindle fits perfectly, seems not to move, and the quality looks fine at least for now.

The Kindle definitely needs a case (otherwise, it's very uncomfortable to carry, and it seems really vulnerable), and this is a great option for a great price!

When I ordered this case, I wasn't expecting much. It was far less expensive than the other leather cases available. The reality is that this case fits my Kindle 3 perfectly. I don't need to remove the Kindle from the case to do anything.

It takes a split-second to open and start reading, which was critical for me since much of my reading is in short periods on public transportation.

The leather feels good in my hands, which I didn't expect at this price point. The stitching doesn't look like it was hand-done at great expense, but given the price point, I can't imagine that there is a better case available.

For the price this is a great cover. The kindle fits well, haven't had it slip out at all. The only drawback may be that the back speakers are a little muffled by the case, but I don't really use them, and I figure any cover will do the same. The kindle on it's own was just too hard to hold and lug around the house, I kept changing pages on accident. I use my kindle all the time for boooks, RSS feeds with Calibre and instapaper. Can't fit it in my back pocket any more with the case but that probably wasn't the smartest thing to do in the first place. Again, for the money this thing fits the bill perfectly.

Firstly, I made my son happy with the purchase of the Kindle just for him. He loves to read. I was amazed at how well he was taking care of his new "toy" but I wanted to make sure that he also had an adequate cover. This case is tight fit. However, you're not intending to remove the Kindle from the case and place it back in multiple times. Everything remains accessible and it still keeps the device looking stylish. Excellent value for the money. - Ebook Reader - Kindle - Ebook - E-reader'

First, let me clarify that the TV is, in fact, native 1080p. No question about it.

Second, the panel on this TV is made by Samsung, and the quality is excellent.

Third, TCL's website has a find service center location search and it is quite extensive ..

Based on the two year warrantee, what I am seeing with my TV and Amazons excellent delivery, I'm giving this set a Best Buy rating ..

UPDATE 11/16/2010 .. this set is just plain excellent .. and Amazon service is top of the line .. my set developed a thin blue vertical line, I contacted Amazon, they picked up the set the next day and delivered a new set at the same time .. hard to beat that ..

Update 11/17/2010 .. it's a bit tiresome getting messages from folks who 1) don't have the TV and want to slam it in a public review 2)Know little to nothing about TV's .. I had an electronic repair business for 10 years and I've worked on a lot of TV's .. so I know what I'm talking about .. any TV by any maker is not 100% perfect 100% of the time .. I stand by the fact that this is a great set .. hey, if you don't want to buy it, go get something from the local 'Mart or what not .. or get nothing at all .. matters not to me .. I think you'll be missing out on a great deal, however ..

UPDATE 12/08/2010 .. Thanks to Original Aspect Ratio .... you might try this on any remote and see if it works .. what have you got to lose .. ?? .. keep in mind that this TV has been branded as RCA in the past ..

I have a Logitech Harmony remote. When I select "RCA L32HD41" the tv works 100% as far as I can tell. TCL L40FHDF11TA 40-Inch 1080p 60 Hz LCD HDTV with 2-Year Warranty, Black

Had to write a review for others like me who hadn't heard of the brand and were skeptical. This TV rocks ! It has a 2 yr warranty and a beautiful picture. I bought one for my mom , because her old HDTV broke. I spent over $800 on a Samsung 32 inch about 2 years ago (bought through Amazon) , and man do I regret that because the price on TV's dropped like crazy right after. This TV is just as good WITH MORE FEATURES than my Samsung. for the price you can't beat it , I got it for $320 !

I purchased this TV based on fairly good reviews, good price and two year warranty. On TCL/USA website they list two warranty service companies in my area of Overland Park,Kansas. I contacted both of these companies and they do not service TCL televisions. I contacted TCL customer Support at 1-877-300-8837 and they would not tell me where I could get warranty service other than to look at their website. So what good is a warranty if you cannot get any service? I hope someone with TCL sees this post and responds. I also think Amazon.com should look into this problem since they make a big deal about the two year warranty. Let the buyer beware.

TCL L40FHDF11TA 40-Inch 1080p 60 Hz LCD HDTV with 2-Year Warranty, Black

Summary

Pros:

Good price, quick no cost Amazon Prime delivery, decent picture, decent sound, tunes via RF to both cable analog, digital, and HD and over the air digital HD, lightweight, shipped in original box, 2 year warranty, works with both PS3 and Xbox 360, 1080i from cable box via component cables only

Cons:

Odd behavior with all three HDMI inputs, TV reports 720p via HDMI from 1080i HD cable box, plain vanilla no bells or whistles, shipped with half charged batteries, picture turns on a bit slowly, only one component input

*************************

EDITED 11-28-10

I've been told that reporting an input of 720p rather than 1080i from the cable box is a GOOD thing, although this is odd behavior from a native 1080p display in my experience. In addition according to the users manual the issue I experienced with the PS3 and HDMI input should resolve with unplugging and plugging back in the TV. Please bear this in mind when reading my review. I have revised my rating upward to 4 stars.

**************************

I've had this TV for about two weeks now, keeping it on pretty much 24/7; I want to discover any immediately developing problems as this will be a Christmas gift.

I've had it hooked up to cable via the RF input, and receive analog, digital, and a few HD channels from Comcast, as expected. No problems, nice picture, pretty good sound, easy setup, not too slow to change channels. RF cable and Xbox 360 component input is my intended end use. Just remember to point the remote to the lower left hand corner when standing close, and have a pair of fresh AAA alkaline batteries handy.

I was going to wait a while longer to review the L40FHDF11TA; I've been slowly testing the inputs. However, I have found an issue that could be a deal breaker for some:

The TV HDMI inputs do not recognize a 1080i input signal from my Comcast box, a Motorola DVR DCH 3416. The TV reports a 720p input signal on all three HDMI inputs. It does correctly report a 1080i input signal via component cables only from the cable box, however hook the HDMI back in to the TV and both inputs report 720p by the TCL L40FHDF11TA. These are the input signal reports from the TV only, the TCL L40FHDF11TA will deinterlace (with 1080i) or scale up (with 720p) to display 1080p in either case.

Here is what I have found in testing the inputs as reported by the TV:

HDMI

1080p correct with PS3, both native and blu ray; reliably with HDMI input 2 only (work around available, see above)

1080i correct with up converting Phillips DVD player, all three HDMI inputs

720p unexpected with above mentioned Comcast cable box, all three inputs

Component (remember there is only one of these)

1080i correct with Comcast cable box, but will reoprt 720p if HDMI from cable box is also plugged in

1080p correct with native Xbox 360, 480p with DVD playing (no upconversion)

480p correct from ReplayTV

Composite

480i correct from portable DVD player

S-Video

not available with TCL L40FHDF11TA

RF

correct input direct from Comcast cable, analog, digital, and 1080i HD signal working, no further information

Audio inputs in (analog) working

Headphone out working

USB media in JPEG working, no mp4 or AVI support

SPDF digital audio out not tested

VGA not tested

DVI/Computer audio in not tested

Audio output (analog) not tested

The TCL L40FHDF11TA 40-Inch 1080p 60 Hz LCD HDTV meets my needs; however the lack of multiple legacy inputs coupled with the odd behavior of at least some of the HDMI inputs with at least some HDMI sources should be carefully considered by any buyer. - 1080p - Tcl - Hdtv - Lcd'

Asf Lightware Solutions - book lights, kindle accessory

When I travel, either on a train or a plane, i find there is limited amount of light to read a book. No matter how or where you sit in your seat, there is no light available or limited amounts. I bought this devise to get more light on a recent train trip. well IT worked better than i thought.

After adjusting the light around my neck (which in my opinion is the largest setback to this being a 5 star product), there was enough light for me to read the novel on a train trip.

For those of you who want a light when you travel, i say get this and enjoy your trip

Bennet Pomerantz AUDIOWORLD Beam N Read LED 3 Hands Free Travel Reading Light for Kindle, Nook, & More

This light is nice and bright. Once you get the neckband adjusted to your liking, then it's great...but don't move or you may have to readjust! (See PS below) It's a good light-is much brighter than most lights but the neckband is annoying. Perhaps making a 'padding-type- thingy' to go around where it hits your neck will help -it would. I bought this not for reading but for crafts for working with small objects (but mine has 3 strenghths of magnification that can be attached). I give it 3 stars for great light but annoying neckstrap. (PS: I shorten my strap so it lies much better against my upper chest which aids the light in shining more towards my lap where my book is. This also helps with the readjustment issue I first mentioned-When it's shorter, there is less length to get 'unadjusted'= so you just slide it back to your chest). The only other con is it is rather large=doesn't fit into pockets made for eReaders. I use one of the tiny/miniature backpacks which gives me lots of room to carry my reader, this light, the magnifiers, PLUS my 'other' light, and my charger, etc and more. Works well. You'll love this light if that above doesn't bother you.

Love it - really great for power outages. Much more practical than a head lamp or a clip on book lamp. I also bought one for the husband even though he insisted he didn't need one. He now uses it almost nightly for reading in bed. Haven't used it yet for crochet, but plan to. I think it would be great for that as well.

11/26/2010 update: We just came off a three day power outage from a series of large snow storms. Our Beam N Reads were amazing - put it around your neck and go on your way in the dark hands free. With good batteries (not the ones they come with) they last forever. We didn't have to worry about changing batteries even though we had plenty on hand. We don't know what we would do without them. A wonderful, practical gift - better than a lot of usless junk out there! And it works so well for crafts even when you have power - especially if working with dark colored textiles.

Does any bedroom ever have adequate light for reading? This is the perfect eye-saver for those of us who like to read in bed. It is extra-bright, easy to adjust and gives exactly the right size light to cover a page. Highly recommended!

I have used Beam N Reads for years. I started using the Beam N Read to check on my infant children, change diapers, check on a feeding tube, etc. without needing to turn on the overhead light. When the other children were sleeping I did not want to wake them. Years later, on Halloween it was a big help finding items the kids dropped out of the stroller in the dark shadows. I could keep one hand on the stroller and the other was free to pick stuff up. The kids are older now but one recent night after they were in bed with the lights out, I used a Beam N Read with the red filter attached to apply some ointment to one of the children. When finished I turned the light out and could immediately see in the darkened room. No night blindness that would have occurred if I hadn't put the filter over the bright white light. During the occasional blackout, I can walk around the house with both hands free. I've used it when looking for papers in storage boxes in the unfinished storage space under the house - especially in spaces the overhead light doesn't reach. It's been very useful.

Worn around the neck, this has a light, adjustable strap. The reading light is said to last about 120 hours, and I've been using it for weeks and it's still going.

It came with 4 standard alkaline AA batteries and a clip-on red filter to minimize night blindness, their literature says, and to soften the light if needed. Really lightweight and flexible with a flip-up design, it's turned On by merely flipping the reflector/hood up.

I now usually have it on when I'm home. Going downstairs at night or to a darkened room, or when I just can't see something well enough, I can even save on lights by just turning this on for awhile.

For reading a book or an e-book reader, you can also reverse it if you prefer (as I do) to hold the book or e-reader higher than on your lap, and then flip the reflector/hood down instead, so that the light angles up. But if someone is sitting across from you, this may not be very comfortable for that person, as the Led lamps would be directed at their eyes too.

I've also used it, in reversed position, for piano music.

Essentially, I love that it's always available when I need extra light, and for the Kindle, at night, it provides a very even light, especially when reading in bed or in an airplane. The light, while more than adequate, is not overpowering and is less likely to bother someone else nearby who might be needing some sleep. - Book Light - Camping Light - Kindle Accessory - Book Lights'

Razr Headset - motorola, cell phone

This wired Motorola RAZR headset is better than a Bluetooth one for these reasons:

-the mic is closer to your mouth so your voice will sound better and clearer than a Bluetooth headset where the mic is way up by your ear. I tried a wireless Bluetooth headset and my voice always sounded distant and callers could hear ambient room noise around me. They said I sounded like I was using a speakerphone. But when I use this wired headset, they say my voice is quite clear and loud.

-it's easier to just plug in this wired headset at any time than fool around with the settings for syncing with the Bluetooth when you want to be on headset.

-This headset is easier to carry with you than a Bluetooth one and no AC adapater charger or battery is required.

-This headset is cheaper than a Bluetooth headset and in fact comes bundled with some RAZR phones.

The only reason I'm not rating this headset 5 stars is that I agree with other reviews, the earpiece doesn't fit that snuggly in the ear. This is a minor complaint for me though as the headset does pretty much what I want it to do and it does it nicely. Motorola Hands-Free Headset for RAZR V3

This is the most basic headset I could find since I didn't want to spend an arm & a leg for a Bluetooth headset. Pluses: cheap, sounds good, did I say cheap? Minuses: The clip is junk and actually damaged the wire before it fell off, the earpiece is too big, the mic picks up every sound in the area. There is also a really weird feedback using the "mute" on the phone and the headset.

It's better than nothing but you might come out better plunking down the change to get a Bluetooth headset.

I agree with other commentors that the audio quality is not great but it is cheap and it does serve its purpose. My main problem with this earwire was that it was not at all designed with a human ear in mind. Motorola is apparently coming up with more of a "earbud" style headset. I dont know, these are ok for now.

...And that is to not have to hold your phone any more. Audio quality is low, clip, as other readers have said, really IS junk - it fell off literally in the first 20 minutes of talking just from having it push against my shirt. It didn't damage the cable or anything; but I think that's just because it wasn't attached like at ALL when it fell off. Couldn't get it back on either because they give you about 20 pages of warranty information in 40 different languages but nothing else.

Audio quality = sounding like you're speaking underwater. The ear bud itself is, as others have said, huge = I'm a pretty big guy, but this thing is about 3/4 inches in diameter. To make matters worse, mine at least did not even come with a simple foam cover for the earbud, meaning that when you're trying to get this huge bud shoved into your ear canal, it really HURTS as you're trying to do it without any kind of soft foam to protect you.

However, it's pretty cheap and USB. That's what I saw when I bought it 5 days ago. Make your own decision, but I think that now if I found literally ANY other kind of USB headset that would work with a RAZR, I'd take it.

Well I wasn't sure about this headset reading all the negative reviews. Honestly I don't see what the problems are... this headset works great! The one problem I encountered is with the cord clip. The cord clip wasn't attached to the cord instead just clipped around it. I tried clipping it on but can't. No worries, the mic is positioned in such a way that you don't really need the clip anyways. Only other issue is that you can't charge the phone while using the corded headset. - Junk - Razr - Motorola - Cell Phone'

Garmine Nuvi Accessories - nuvi case, garmin case

I'm just saying a few words about the complaint about this product being over priced & only getting a 2 star rating. If the guy had priced each individually he would find that the whole package came to $75.00 retail so $34.99 before the Amazon discount is pretty good. Even if you go out & get the best price you can find for each, you'll still pay between $45.00 & $55.00 plus postage so I think they have a pretty good deal.

By the way I just got my Garmin 255W GPS & needed the accessory travel pack. Garmin nüvi Accessory Travel Pack

Although this includes a USB cable like the one that comes with the Nuvi 885T the other accessories will come in handy both at home and when traveling abroad. Highly recommended to expand your GPS' usability and to protect your investment.

Each component in the travel package is exactly right. The leather sleave fits my Garmin 760 perfectly and is easy to use. The wall charger provides the essential option to in-car charging. The USB cable is a good-to-have spare for the one shipped with the GPS.

This travel pack for the Garmin Nuvi 4.3 inch device is essential for world travel. I was in Portugal recently and used my GPS unit extensively, requiring several recharges during my vacation. The travel pack, with its collection of world plugs and protective case, is essential equipment. I wouldn't travel without it.

I have nothing negative to offer with this kit. It is well designed, includes all the accessories you could want and a great price here on Amazon. My point with this review is simply to say I don't have a use for it. I thought I would when I bought it. I can charge my Garmin in my car or by connecting the usb cable that came with my Garmin to my computer. After owning it for close to a year, I have not had a need for the charger or cable that came with this kit. The case is great - good size/proper protection/easy to use. Again, it sits in my glove box for that day when I decide I need it. If you have a use for this accessory kit, it IS worth buying and the one I would suggest you buy. My advice is to hang onto your $30.00 until you decide you really have a use for it.

I bought my son a Garmin 255W for a graduation gift, however it only came with a car charger. Apparently some of the Garmin's include a USB cable ~ not sure why all of them don't since the first thing you want to do is charge it up and register it. I ended up using my HP digital camera USB cable to connect it to the computer for registering his Garmin and charging it so he could enter some basic info and play around/get familiar with it before attempting to use it in his car (safety first). I bought this accessory kit for him to "complete the gift" so that he would (1)have a case to keep his Garmin in when not in use, thereby avoiding scratching the screen (2)have the flexibility of charging his Garmin at home (3)have his own USB cable for connecting to the computer ~ he has a bad habit of "misplacing" my stuff and he won't be living here forever (4)have international power adapters in case he needs them while traveling (or if I do and he lets borrow his Garmin). Purchasing each of these items separately was way more expensive! Since Garmin didn't package all of these "extras" with the Garmin itself, I am so glad they had them available in a Kit. So far he has used everything in the Kit except for the intenational power adapters and everything works as expected. I would recommend this to anyone who is in a similar situation or has the same needs as we did.

This is a great buy. If you bought all these products separately the cost would easily be double or triple. If you need equipment to charge your garmin and would also like a case for a great price, then look no further. The international adaptors are probably really good to have if you are a traveler also. Highly recommend this product to people looking for garmin equipment.

The Garmin Travel Pack is a nice set. It includes everything the Garmin needs. I do like the case to protect the Garmin. I would like to comment though about the USB cable. It should have been included with the Garmin. Just another way for the manufacture to sqeeze more money from the consumer!

I found the Travel Pack to be very useful. I needed the USB-to-mini-USB cable for connecting the GPS to my computer. That enabled me to download my free one-time map software update to the GPS. My digital camera cable has a proprietary connector on one end so I couldn't adapt it to that purpose. I regularly use the leather carrying case for my GPS. It holds the GPS so I can carry it in my pocket without loosing it or scratching the screen. Garmin recommends against leaving the GPS in the car's glove compartment or out where a thief can see it. Also, I like to program the GPS for my next destination before I take it back to the car, if possible. Sometimes I find it more convenient to use the GPS without hooking up the charging cable in the car. Then I use the house plug-in charger to recharge it later. Note that some cars don't power the cigar lighter for the GPS charging cable unless the key is in the ignition and turned to the on or acc position. Also, if I use the GPS for walking in an unfamiliar city or using public transportation while traveling without a car, I will need the charger.

The Travel Pack is not a necessity, but it can be very convenient. The plug-in charger, the carrying case and the USB cable together in the Accessory Pack cost only slightly more than two of the three items if purchased separately, and less than I would have paid for all three. - Gps - Nuvi Case - Garmine Nuvi Accessories - Garmin Case'
