Stereo Extension - audio, extension

I needed an extension because my headphones were too short to fit into my speakers. I looked at a lot of other extension reviews, and the main flaws of most of the extensions were that the wires would break or the sound quality would be greatly diminished afterwords. The majority of the reviews for this extension seemed positive so I decided to get it. This extension is great, you can walk around your room, or walk on the treadmill with increased mobility without a reduction in sound quality or loudness.

I haven't had a it long enough to know how long it might last before it may break down. So far I've had it for about a month plus a week, and there are no cracks in the wire, or any change in the quality, and I use for hours a day. Compared to other extension products I've seen this is a good buy for it's price and it's functionality. Cables To Go 40408 3.5 mm Male/Female Stereo Audio Extension Cable, Black (12 Feet/3.65 Meters)

This extension is just what I was looking for. I needed to have a long extension in order to connect my earphones to my PC and it is at about 1.50 m. from my head so the cable of my earphones was veryu short. I've been using it for a month and it works flawlesly

I bought this cable to replace the extension on my Shure earbuds. I would not reccommend it. The cable is much more rigid than the one that came with my earbuds, which causes it to work its way into loops instead of just laying flat. It is really annoying. The connectors also don't appear to be very good quality. I constantly get static in my earbuds if the plug twists around in the earphone socket of my Zune.

When I first received the 12 foot extension cable, I was very happy with it. The sound quality is only minimally affected. However, within a month and a half, it only works at certain angles. I cannot hold the cord in place whenever I want to listen to music. Don't waste your money, unless you plan to replace it every couple of months.

Here's an honest reveiw:

Really like the length and look of the extender, only problem is that after the

second day I used it, the right channel wouldn't work for any speakers or head phones that I'd use it with (even with cleaning and adjusting position of jack).

Fortunately I went rumaging through my old audio equipment and found my old extender which is only half as long and doesn't have as appealing of a look, but it does work after 4 YEARS of use (same cost range too).

Only 2 days of working compared to 4 years of working makes me give this product

the lowest possible review rating.

I broke the extension on my Bose headphones so I bought this as the replacement. It's ok, but it doesn't fit very well into my iPod when it has the case on it. The plastic around the extension is thick so it blocks that area. The sound is ok though, not overly excited about it but not disappointed either. It works and it's affordable!

I take the cable out of the package, plug my headphones into it and then plug the other end into my iPhone. The sound volume is much lower than if I was not using it. If I move the cable at all, there will be crackles and maybe only one channel will work. I suspect a short or a cold solder. This cable is only good for the trash.

This is the second cable I have used for extending earphones to reach my TV. My first one has worked for 1 year and ended up with one side of ears shut down, So I brought this cable. I found this new one is defective--making hiss noise on and off, and one ear is louder than the other, which really freaked me out. I am sure it is not because of my earphones or TV set, because they are working fine without the extension cable. My suggestion is that they still need a quality control while making this simple gedgets. - Audio - Headphone Cable - Extension - Cable'

Perfect For Travel - surge protectors, perfect for travel

I noticed that some friends had their laptops protected by the Tripp Lite SPIKECUBE so I went onto Amazon for more information. The price (<$10 delivered) and the reviews sold me. I bought three of these surge protectors. I've used Tripp Lite before. I have one of their Home Theater power centers, which I love, so I thought it only fitting to purchase this product. It's an inexpensive way to get protection for valuable computer/electronics equipment.

It's perfect for travelers because it provides protection for your laptop while on the road, and it's small enough to fit in your laptop case, or luggage. You cannot go wrong. Tripp Lite SPIKECUBE 1 Outlet Direct Plug In Surge Protector (540 Joules)

I was looking for a single outlet surge suppressor for a new treadmill. This one is just what I wanted. Grounded (3-prong), has a light to indicate that the suppression is still active, fairly unobtrusive. Tripp-lite is a quality name and I am happy with this product.

Read the reviews and this product seemed well recommended.

Bought three after a lightning storm knocked out our power and the freezer's condenser along with it.

Use one for the (new!) freezer, one for the refrigerator, and one for the laptop.

Delivered within a week just in time for another storm and power loss. No problem this time. I'm happy.

I'm not sure how these perform in a actual surge but I've been impressed with Tripp Lite in the past. The craftsmanship exceeds most expectations. These are a must have for my exercise equipment even though I unplug them if not in use. They are powerful, small and don't take up the whole outlet like others. GREAT BUY!

After losing both my wireless router and my cable modem to a power surge during an electrical storm, I started looking for an inexpensive surge protector. I wanted one that would do the job, but wouldn't get in the way. I did quite a bit of research and ended up buying several of these for new router, modem, new cordless phone system, etc. After several months, I've not lost a single device, despite a few electrical storms and intermittant power outages.

I wanted a simple, unobtrusive surge protector for my wall-mounted TV and the Spikecube was perfect. It's a little bit bigger than a cell phone charger wall adapter so it doesn't take up much space, but it offers the same protection as a decent power strip with surge protection.

In Southern California, we don't really have any big storms so we usually don't have to worry about power surges, but I still feel safer when my expensive electronics are protected. Fortunately, I've never had to rely on them though.

My only complaints are the big, glowing status indicator and the direction that the only outlet faces. I'd prefer if the status light weren't so big, but it's not hard to hide the Spikecube behind a potted plant or something like that. The outlet faces directly outward so any heavier plug or power brick will make the whole setup extends straight out of the wall about 4 or 5 inches. It'd be much better if the plug were angled facing slightly upwards or downwards.

Overall though, these are small issues. Tripp-Lite makes some of the most reliable surge protectors so this 750 joule unit is probably better than the cheapo no-name 1000 joule power strips.

It's just a surge protector. Nothing special about it, but the little thing works great. The only complaint I could possibly make is that it's a bit ugly. The orange light is obnoxious.

Regardless, I would recommend this to anyone.

I purchased this for my garage door opener. Whenever there was a power surge, the garage door would automatically open, creating access for anyone to take anything in my garage -- causing concern for when I am gone for the day or on vacation.

I needed something that was small since the plug is on the ceiling of my garage. Since plugging the garage opener into the surge protector, I haven't had any issues with the door opening involunatarily since.

I recently purchased a treadmill from a local store and the instructions say multiple places you need to use a power surge protector. I looked at the ones for sale at the store and they were all extremely high dollar, I'm talking upwards of $25. I went on Amazon and found this one for under $10 and it was the exact same item for the most part that they had at the local store. I went ahead and ordered it and the next day it arrived using amazon prime shipping. The item was packaged well, a very small box. After opening up the package and plugging it in I verified the light was on and it was, I plugged my treadmill in and started using it, thing works perfect and now my $600 investment is safe!

This looks good, doesn't feel cheap and look to do the job just fine. I recommend it so far, although can't ever tell when you'll have a power surge. - Surge Suppressors - Power Protection - Perfect For Travel - Surge Protectors'

Phone With Data Port - panasonic, speakerphone

Hard to find a quality phone these days. This Panasonic does all the basics required for a home office, including a decent speakerphone. Note that the speakerphone uses AA batteries, not an AC adaptor. Phone does NOT need batteries to work as basic phone. Recommended, but only appears to be sold online. Panasonic Integrated Business Phone (KX-TS105B)

I have a home office and do contract work for other companies. I needed a corded phone (for security reasons) with no bells and whistles like caller ID. The phone had to have a headset jack for hands free talking. There are very few corded phones on the market that are really this inexpensive that had the features I needed. Most everything has went to cordless. The buttons are a nice size. The mute is invaluable to my work along with the volume. I also love when I am working late that i can turn the ringer off as to not disturb anyone in my home and the phone flashses a red light when a call is coming in. Don't hesitate to buy this phone if you are thinking about it. You can't beat the free super saver shipping either.

I needed a simple solution for my office. I wanted to be able to use the phone, but not get tied down by the handset, or the headset. Here was my solution, Since the TS105B has the 2.5mm port for a headset, I purchased a Jabra A210 Bluetooth adapter along with this phone and used one of my spare bluetooth headset to stay on conference calls and yet be able to move around my office. So far... WOW!!! its worked out great. The phone is also good by itself, plus it was inexpensive through AMAZON. For anyone interested in going the route I took... you will not be disappointed.

Oh yes... you are limited to about 25 ft, or in my case as I work in a hospital where there are alot of other signals and lead lined walls... 15ft with max length at about 20 before you begin to hear static.

The phone was a great buy, as was the Jabra A210 adapter.

I've been searching for a corded phone for a while and came across this one. The speaker phone is definitely a bonus, however, it won't really work properly unless you put the batteries in it. Without the batteries, you can't dial and press the speaker phone right afterward. You have to wait until the person you're calling answers the phone. So don't forget to put the batteries in if you want the speaker phone to work properly. Overall, the phone is clear and crisp. The size of the dial buttons is a good size. Definitely a good corded phone to have.

I have had this phone now for 2 months and I am very satisfied with it. I read several reviews but I could not get a clear answer to the main question I had about this phone. I thought I would bite the bullet purchase it and then post it here for others who may be looking for an explicit answer.

- The speaker phone works with NO batteries

- If you don't put in the batteries, you can't press the speaker phone to get a dial tone. You must lift receiver and then press the speaker phone and dial.

- If you put in the batteries then the speaker phone button can be pressed to get the dial tone.

Sound quality is A+ both ways. I don't think I will need a headset for this phone.

There is no answering machine - and that is a plus. I don't need one.

There is no problem with the headset and the speaker phone is really nice. It works without batteries just fine for my needs. I have not used the memory feature yet - don't know if I will.

It also has a data port to connect to the PC or laptop so faxes can be sent.

This is a great basic business phone. It looks great on any desk and has lots of speed dial buttons that are easy to program. The speakerphone quality is great. The handset is reasonably comfortable. The ringer isn't too annoying. There is even a 2.5mm headset jack if you'd like to plug one in. Volume controls let you control speaker, handset, or headset volume. Hold button works as it should.

It takes 3 AA batteries, but I do not find this to be too much of a drawback; they will likely last a long time. My biggest complaint is that the light-up off-hook indicator is wasted doing only that; they should have made it a message-waiting indicator for systems that indicate new voicemail messages with a stutter dialtone. I have seen other Panasonic products that do this.

I am using this product on a VoIP line and it performs flawlessly. The number of oddities present in this setup further underscore how well this product is designed. It is perfect for any business or high-demand home application. It does exactly what it says and provides a great value for the money. Too many products miss this mark these days, so it is great to see something that still gets it right.

I got this phone to replace an AT&T phone that has a very poor speaker phone. Unfortunately this one is not much better. You have to yell when only three feet away from the phone for the other person to hear you. Also, the max volume on the specker phone is not all that loud. Why can't they make a speaker phone that works that doesn't cost a hundred dollars? The speaker phone on cell phone work better (much better) than this one. Maybe they have to plug into an electrical socket to get enough power. This one runs on three AA cells. - Speakerphone - Phone - Panasonic - Headset'

Pocket Scale - portable, chemistry

I needed a scale that could measure quantities less than 10mg and did not want to buy a $1500 piece of lab equipment. If you are careful and consistent with your measuring techniques, this scale is repeatable to within a few milligrams - often to its finest resolution of 0.001g. These are essential for this performance: 1) let the scale stabilize on a hard, flat and level surface. 2) Make sure the sample tray is properly seated inside the circular detent of the scale's metal measuring platform. If you're not careful, the sample tray (as provided) can touch the body of the scale, grossly throwing off the measurement. I glued a small piece of metal to the bottom of the sample tray raising it higher for more clearance. I'll often tap the table that the scale is on to help everything settle. 3) calibrate as described in the manual. 4) place and remove samples consistently and carefully - don't drop them. Even the slightest impact can throw off the measurement. 5) wait for ten seconds or so for the sample to settle. 6) for minuscule samples, use the ten gram weight in addition to the sample to put the scale in the middle of its operating range. With a little care, one will get closer to the performance of a lab-grade milligram scale than anything else for this price. Nice scale.

I was hesitant to buy this given the review indicating that there may be a problem with the power supply to this scale. However, I was hoping that the other reviewer's case may have been isolated given the vast number of scales that AWS offered.

I've been using mine for about two weeks, making sure to turn it on and weigh the calibration weight at least once a day to check a) the power to the scale, and b) the accuracy of the scale over a period of time checking for consistency.

I can say that mine doesn't have an issue with eating away at the batteries and the scale is always within a 3mg error range of the 10g weight (usually less). I would say given the cost, that it is an extremely accurate and affordable scale.

I'm amazed that you get a balance which can display to the nearest milligram for the price that I would expect to pay just for the two calibration weights, which are included. Unless you've had a course in analytical chemistry or work in a lab where precision weighings are routine, here are a few tips. Do keep in mind that it is a precision instrument - use a light touch adding weight to the pan, always use the tweezers -- do not touch the pan or weights with your bare fingers. Keep the balance in a clean environment away from fumes, and only use it on a solid vibration free surface. For precise weightings to the nearest milligram, don't lean on the table, which must be solid, level, and vibration free. This balance is a little gem and an incredible bargain.

I bought this sale for measuring spices for cooking. My kitchen scale had a 2 g resolution, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt is 1.5 g, so it was inadequate. The photos of this product are misleading, the scale is tiny! About half the size it looks in the pictures. I added a picture of the scale with a dime and a ruler to give a better idea of its size.

The construction of this scale leaves a bit to be desired. The aluminum plate that covers the area around the sensor is attached with double sided foam tape, and was slightly warped, so it had sprung away from the tape to the point where it would make contact with the tray, throwing off measurements. Once I got the aluminum plate flat and stuck to the tape, I found that the measuring trays bottom does not quite match the dimple in the sensor, so it does not sit solidly on the sensor.

This scale is less than ideal for my purpose. The measuring tray is only 1.3" in diameter, much too small to catch all of the pepper from a pepper mill, and there is a gap between the sensor and the aluminum plate that would allow crud to fall inside the unit. The ideal scale would have a measuring plate that covered the entire top surface, and an overhanging lip so that spills would land on the table, and not inside the scale. I think that I can make an alternate tray using a sheet of plastic and a toothpaste tube cap that will allow me to use this scale for my intended purpose.

Things that should have been mentioned in the description of this product:

This scale can measure using the following units: g (gram), oz (ounce), ozt (troy ounce), dwt (pennyweight), ct (carat), gn (grain)

This product gets 4 stars because it does what it is intended to do and is cheap, it looses one star because of sloppy construction.

The pan for the scale, which is essential to using it, did not have a deep enough indent, thus the side of the pan hit the edge, causing inaccurate weighing. if the load was slightly off center, the weight would be low. Fixed it by putting a dime inbetween the pan and the weighing surface. now it works well, but I always need a dime. - Balance - Accurate - Pocket Scale - Portable - Digital - Chemistry'

Comfortable - underwear, mens underwear

In the past, I've found this brand to offer good quality. This time however, after washing my clothes on warm, all of my laundry was turned a very dark grey. This product was the only new variable in the contents of the washer, so there's no doubt that it was the culprit. I should have been suspicious by the unusually low price. Buy at your own risk. Bellaonline Recommended - kids, toddler

I bought these headphones before my 2 year old daughter and I were flying cross-country. I tried to get her used to them before the plane ride. I probably should have used them longer before getting on the plane. On the plane she did fine on the way out and even fell asleep with them on. On the way home, she would only wear them for about 20 minutes. I think it was the novelty she did not like, but overall I was happy with the purchase and would recommend these headphones. Just use them a bit before you actually need them to get your child used to them.

By the way since there is no picture, these are kid size headphones. Each earpiece looks like a panda. Califone Kids Stereo and PC Headphone (2810-PA)

Second pair of headphones for kids we have bought, the first being the highly rated Kidz Gear Kidz Gear Wired Headphones For Kids that our now 6 year old uses. When these arrived, of course the older kid liked the looks better (has animal figures and the Kidz Gear are not that cutesy) and even tried to tell me hers were broken! :)

I wanted to try a different brand since I always thought the Kidz Gear sounded terrible (very muffled, like you were listening with cotton stuck in your ears)

So these arrive, and yes they are cute. They also seem to be a little sturdier (although that has not been a problem to date with the Kidz Gear as they are still working after many intl/overnight flights) and maybe almost TOO inflexible in some parts, as the fit doesn't seem to be as good as the Kidz Gear, which conform a little better to the shape of the head.

So back to the sound quality: I am not trying to raise audiophiles, but on the other hand, why submit very low fidelity sound to your kids, especially given that many of the songs they are hearing for the first time? Also knowing that it's certainly possible to produce a headphone that sounds 2x better than these at the same cost. The earbuds that came with several phones and mp3 players as freebies sound MUCH better than both of these phones.

So, yes I am being picky, and I do realize that most parents just don't care about sound quality themselves in many cases, much less for the kids, but I am not one of those parents. Would you want to buy glasses for your kids that are hazy and unclear?

Anyway, I give three stars PRIMARILY based on sound quality, which is poor, at best. Construction seems OK, price is OK I guess, but I will continue my search.

Will update here if I find the Holy Grail of children's headphones. :)

These headphones are great and my kids love them. I would give them 5 stars, but my kids seem to be a little rough on them and they've pulled the cords out of the volume control a couple times. I've re-soldiered the connections and they still work great, but I wish that connection was reinforced a little better or the volume control was relocated to a better spot.

These are the best!!! I bought these for my 18 month old before we were about to take a long airplane flight. We tried them out for about a week, before we left. She loved them. Wore them on the plane, they fit perfect. Buy these, worth it!

We purchased these for a 12 hour plane ride. They were an absolute life saver. They were comfortable enough that my 2 year old didn't mind wearing them. She thought they were really cute and was excited to wear them. These have now been in use for almost a year and are most often used with my daughters Mp3 player. They've been dropped about a thousand times and been heavily used. I'm amazed that they've held up so well. They are still working just like day 1. The sound quality isn't as nearly as good as my personal headphones but for the comfort and durability it's well worth the trade.

I purchased these for my 6 year old daughter. They fit her very nicely and work well with her iPod touch and portable DVD player. She loves the panda design. I put them on to try and the sound quality is surprisingly pretty good. Defiantly good enough for younger kids. We had the Sony before in pink and these have better sound. My only concern is with the volume control, it is hard to turn up and down. You need to get your fingernail perfectly in the grove to rotate it up or down. Other than that, I would definitely recommend these.

Purchased for 5 year old grandson. We spend lots of time in the car and hearing the same movie over and over, well, you know. He loves them and has shown them to his friends who all think the panda earphones are totally cool. He may grow out of the cuteness and I hope they last awhile, but for now - using them 2 months - he's having a great time and the adults in the front seat are loving it too. - Childrens Headphones - Toddler - Kids - Headphones'

Min New York Dark Brown - shampoo, just for men

I am using this product for couple of years from now. Wonderful product, easy to apply, color stays for long enough. Out of my 2 years of experience Amazon is the best place to buy this product under bargain price. I will definitely recommend you all to try. Just for Men Shampoo-In Hair Color, Real Black 55, 1 application Case of 3

I have been using it since years.

I used to use Men's Choice, but switched to this product.

At least for me, it gives a more natural color and texture to hair.

You can also shampoo the hair immediately after using it, so the dye is not left in the hair to stain the towels and pillows.

It does drip a lot, so I try not to apply too much, and soak of any extra liquid on the sides with tissue paper.

All hair dyes cause allergy over time in some people. I have some mild itching on the first day that goes away.

THE LONGER YOU LEAVE IT IN, THE DARKER WOULD BE THE COLOR.

If you leave it longer, that also decreases fading of color between applications.

I usually leave it in for at least 15-20 minutes.

This is a pack of 3... so if this is the first time you are using it, I would recommend buying one in the store first. Read the directions, and then... if it works great for you... BUY THIS PACK! You're going to save!!!

Trying it first recommended because it does cause some people to have reactions. Also, use the cream on the skin near the hair lines, to prevent the dye from dying the skin. Black is better for me, because I have a really dark brown hair (in the sunlight), but otherwise, it's black... and the dark brown just barely highlights. Both actually work for me, but the black is my overall better color.

OMG! People think I'm so young now, haha. I should have used this when I was 30! I love the color and It's a very nice match to my eyebrows. I used a fine tooth comb to distribute the color and the gloves it came with fit my hands easily. There was almost no smell and the smell was gone after I washed it out. It took 2 applications to really get my hair solid black, but I waited 2 weeks to reapply it. Everyone I know loves the look and some even wonder why I look different. It's amazing how women really want you to have a nice hair color. I bought 3 packs of these and got the free shipping. I figure 1 time per month will do it, so I'm set for most of this year now.

Just for Men is a great product. I had about 25 percent grey hairs, so I wanted to get rid of them for an event. I will be a regular reuser, just about once every two months for me(only a handful returned by then) Us men do not have many types of health and beauty products to choose from. It is very simple and easy to use. Read and follow the instructions, I read the other reviews and did not understand how people could not successfully use this product.

Do not leave the product in your hair longer than instructed. Itis filled with good things for your hair unlike woman's dies and bleaches. Follow the instructions on how to apply so all hairs are covered, its not difficult or rocket science. It is as easy as a thorough shampoo, letting it sit for a few minutes and then rinsing. Its well worth a little over six bucks to look ten-fifteen younger.

Use this stuff to hide the grays. Works well at first but then as your hair grows and time passes you can notice the colored hairs turning (in my case) turning from black to brown. Unless you plan on using this every 2 weeks which I doubt, this thing is great for short term.. you know high school reunions/weddings..etc. Otherwise be glad you have gray hairs instead of no hair.

Its a great product. It seems intimidating at first to use because of this fear created about the dye running all over from the sink to your forehead. Let me calm ur start up anxieties.

1) The gloves are provided in the kit- use them.

2) Vaseline borders are recommended, but you(huge baldspots may need them-I don't know) really can avoid it. Just keep wet tissues handy for the dye that runs off the hair(expect a couple of spots maybe on forehead and below sideburns). Now the dye solution is thick and not runny so its not really a stain hazard at all. Its also easy to remove from other surfaces(just keep towel or tissue handy no need to cover the basin etc etc).

3) After 5minutes it showers of easy. Just run the water a lot through the hair then shampoo.

Its a whole lot simpler than it appears. When I read the instruction I almost thought I had to cover all exposed surfaces - really! just keep some tissues and get on with it.

I bought this one for my dad. The color looks real black and natural. You may notice that the color is changing to dark brown side a little bit after two months. But, unless you use it more frequently, it won't be a problem.

This product does dye your hair to the color you want.

However, the formula is very drippy, despite their "non-drip" statement.

I have used it multiple times and each time I spend more time trying to get our the stains for my ears and neck when the thing just slides down your hair onto your skin.

I would not recommend this product. Get a hair dye with a thicker formula. - Just For Men - Shampoo'

Avery Labels - color, laser

I have gone through about 145 of these labels from two different orders I've made on Amazon. I've used them to label DVD-R discs that I've transferred much of my older VHS tapes to.

I did not encounter any problems with printing out labels for my DVD discs, so I'm puzzled by one reviewer's comments. I did notice the majority of the time that when trying to print out Spine labels the text never quite lines up.

But, even when they did print out O.K. I never really found a use for those spine labels considering the type of clear single case that I use. Avery CD Labels for Laser Printers, White, 100 Disc Labels and 200 Spine Labels (5698)

Works great with my Samsung Laser printer. The only possible glitch is that you must print two labels at the same time as there are two labels on each sheet and a warning to not run the sheet through the printer a second time. Also, my printer was not doing a very good job of lining up the labels until I found a free, easy to use, online program. Use [...] for the template to make DVD labels. Use Sure Thing to make DVD liner notes.

I purchased these over the cheaper Ink Jet labels specifically because they were designed for laser printers. The first label I printed was a mess of peeling toner within seconds of being applied to a disc. A day later, the toner still peels off by rubbing a finger gently over anything printed. Maybe its my specific Samsung printer which has the issue, but I've never experienced this issue with standard paper.

I plan on returning these labels and may try the color laser labels.

I added an extra star simply because the label itself is well manufactured, easy to apply (even with just a jewel case).

I ordered Avery 5698 because Amazon's picture and description very clearly show this product is designed for CD -and- DVD. The product I received was indeed 5698, but the package doesn't match the Amazon photo. These (5698) are CD -only- labels. I called Avery and the CSR said that Avery no longer makes a Laser-printer-compatible label for DVDs: it was discontinued years ago, she said, but didn't have the product number in her computer system, hmm! She claimed no knowledge of the Amazon web site but said it must be wrong but she couldn't check. It's hard to believe somebody at Amazon is using Photoshop to alter the product appearances, and is misrepresenting the product description! That doesn't make sense. I think Avery screwed up. SEE ALSO Bill's review of Avery 5692, which has a similar problem of misrepresentation. - Color - Dvd Labels - Laser - Avery Labels'

Panasonic Cordless Phone - panasonic cordless phone, caller id

This is without question, the best land line phone I have ever seen! Please look at my other reviews, you will see that I am NOT a paid reviewer to write what the manufacturer wants.

This phone does EVERYTHING! Sound is crystal clear. Both handsets and base unit have lit displays. Both have selectable ringer tones and volume. Each has independent "phone books" which can be copied from the base unit to the handsets or vice versa. Both the base unit and handsets have speaker phones. The phone books are super easy to program.

The answering system with date/day/time works terrifically! You can select pre-recorded message or make your own. The answering system capacity is 18 minutes or 64 messages. You can select between 2 and 7 rings before the answering system engages.

I like that the base unit works during power outages.

I especially like the five "speed dial" buttons to phone frequent friends or family with just one button. Great!

Call blocking works well.

Cordless handsets have great range and use rechargeable AAA batteries (included). The handset cradle recharges the batteries. The cordless handsets light up. You can access the answering machine via the cordless handsets.

It has a "handset locator".

It supports English and Espahol. Instruction manual is well written and easy to use.

It even has an "alarm clock" feature.

I have not found a better land line phone! Strongly recommend! Panasonic Dect 6.0 Metallic Gray Cordless/Corded Phone with Answering Machine (KX-TG1062M)

I was torn whether to rate this 4 or 5 stars. For my simple needs, it's definitely a 5, but it does have some quirks.

Good:

Great sound quality. Corded base for power outages. Speakerphone (which works great) on all components, both base and handsets. Access to answering system messages from all components. Functions as an intercom (and very well, too). 100-number phone book, which can be copied between units either in total or one entry at a time, and nine phone number groups that you can give custom names. Five-number quick dial buttons on base. Large, easy-to-use buttons. Uses rechargeable AA's (I *think* - might have been AAA's - standard batteries, anyway) instead of the expensive proprietary kind. Supports up to six handsets.

Not so good:

Some menus confusing. Direct-access to functions using "#" and a numeric code a joke, to me - I want to navigate to a function using an intuitive menu, not look up a code in the user manual. On base unit, LCD contrast is not high enough to read display without backlight (at least in the location we've got it). Does not have a memo function as our previous (but much lower quality) system did, so I'm in the market for a fridge magnet recorder thingie now - which is just fine by my husband, as he hated my leaving messages to myself on the answering machine....! ;-> ) Cannot copy phone number groups between units - if you use that function, you'd have to name the groups on each unit and put each phone number in a group individually.

The reason I gave it a "5" nevertheless is that the "not so good" things I listed mean virtually nothing to me for my simple needs, especially when bounced against the "good" things, which *do* mean a lot to me. Your mileage may vary, which is why I tried to list everything I've noticed about the unit so far.

I've owned this phone for just over a week and there are several things I like about it.

1. The handsets use two AAA batteries, instead of the specialized battery components common with digital phones. As my experience with my last phone, an AT&T model, left me without the ability to replace the battery, this one thing significantly affected my view.

2. Once you get the knack of the memory storage function that part of it is really quite simple to use, and much of the functions of the phone then become fairly intuitive.

3. The phone is operational when electrical power is out, which is a moderately common problem where I live due to thunderstorms.

There is one thing I don't like about this phone, but it is a small complaint: the voice control only raises the volume to a certain level and leaves me unable to hear at the level of volume that I'd prefer. However, this is a small complaint for the simple fact that if I pay close attention, which I should do anyway, I manage to understand all that is being said over the line.

The phone comes with a nice and unique ringer that can be heard from quite a distance. The handset use is very simple and easy to understand, requiring no reading of instructions to actually begin use.

Setting the timing of the automatic answering recorder is fairly simple as well. I've got mine set to record at six rings.

While I'm still learning about my new phone I must say that I am more than well pleased with it. It's far superior to the last phone I owned simply because of the type of batteries used. I appreciate Panasonic for actually considering the requirements of the user when they designed this phone.

I recommend it. This phone is very nice for the price and is as good, or better, than any other phone at this price level. - Caller Id - With Answering Device - Corded Cordless Combo - Panasonic Cordless Phone'

Action Adventure

If you like sci-fi, if you like humor, if you like action, if you just love a really great book, I cannot recommend this first Broadcast in the Spinward Fringe series, enough. I have been thoroughly enjoying the universe that Randolph Lalonde has created, and now that Amazon is letting the author release this for free, all I see are more readers being drawn in to his world and an ever growing fan base. Be prepared though. It really isn't free. You will find you will HAVE to go and purchase the next Broadcast in this wickedly fun space romp! Then you'll need the next one, and the next ... :) I cannot wait for more from my new favorite story teller! Origins (Spinward Fringe)

I downloaded this book 2 days ago and have read through the trilogy at a good pace, a testament to the readability of the stories and the author's writing style. The stories and writing style are not so "mature" as some renowned sic-fi authors, a point Mr. Lalonde recognises and acknowledges in his afterword, a nice touch. I've enjoyed the stories and have downloaded the next 2 books in the series. I look forward to reading them.

I spotted this book with high reviews on the Kindle bestseller list and FREE, so I'm late to the party. After reading the whole thing, I immediately downloaded the next two books (and paid for them!). So good, I am willing to pay money to read more.

The genre is best described as space opera, in the general vein of Star Trek and Serenity/Firefly. It's entertaining and occasionally hilarious, but there are also Scenes that Make You Think. Best of all, the author made me care about the characters and want to find out more about what happens to them.

I want to commend the author for delivering high-quality, well-edited prose. That shouldn't be cause for celebration, but these days it is.

Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys light science fiction.

I downloaded this one during the free trial and liked, for the most part, what I saw. If you like space opera and adventure story with very accessible prose, then you should check this offering out. The Kindle format style was well done and I didn't experience anything striking that distracted me from the story.

The first thing that comes to mind is WOW! I saw that one of the spinward fringe books was on the kindle bestseller list (sci-fi), and when checking the series out, found out that this was the start of the series. Even more amazing, is that it's free.

Let's be clear here though, this would still get 5 stars from me if it was normal book priced. In fact, I feel a bit bad about not paying for it. I felt a bit better after buying the rest of the series, though they are pretty cheap compared to other books. (Benefit of self-publishing, I suppose?)

Spinward Fringe Origins is a collection of three novellas, that add up to a single novel type book. They mesh together excellently, so when reading it feels like one novel that just has three distinct plot segments. The plot is compelling, though not necessarily entirely original. It follows a common theme in sci-fi, but it is very well done. The spinward fringe universe is an interesting place, and feels vast throughout the writing. It's hard to not feel attached to the main characters, they are developed enough to feel real and cared about, without bogging down the story.

This is definately an action series, with a lot going on. The setting still seems real, however, and the first novella really sets up the feeling of exploring this unknown fictional universe. Despite being self published, this story is far superior to most self published books here on amazon, and having professional editing is apparent. There are no more spelling/grammar errors or typos in this than in a paperback book.

This book follows a first-person perspective throughout, which I feel really adds to the explorative sense of the story. The following books move to the more traditional third-person narrative. It was addictive, and is one of the more rare books that kept me awake wanting to read after my bedtime. :)

Right now this story is being offered for free by the author, get it now! Even when the price is increased, it's still very much worth it. I'd be glad to pay full price for this book, and still might buy it in hardcopy.

I don't normally do reviews, I've done a few, but it takes a good reason for me to do one. This book constitutes a good reason.

My normal reading is pretty eclectic, but it doesn't normally run to sci-fi or ... what's the term space opera? I was hooked on this one though. In fact, as soon as I finished it, I went out and bought the remaining books (which came to what, $16?). Fascinating characters and a well developed plot - some folks seem to mind the tech detail, but I like it, it contributes to world building (or space building, whichever). I'm on Spinward Fringe 4 at the moment, and still happy as a clam with the series.

This book is better than many of the Sci-Fi books that I have paid for. I understand that it is to get the reader to want to read more of the series (which it does in spades), but something of this quality should not be free.

Once you start, you don't want to put it down. The pacing is fast and smart. There are rarely any sections of the three books contained here that let you catch your breath. I started reading it on a Friday evening and was done Sunday afternoon. I immediately went and downloaded the next three books to my Kindle.

The future science portions are also very well done and believable. I can see where some of the devices and technologies evolved from stuff that we have today and it is integrated into the story in such a way that it feels natural.

Highly recommended and the next books in the series are only $3 a piece and read just as good as this one does.'

Electronic Music - 1080p, digital cable

I have a Sony STR-K760P receiver with 6.1 channel surround. I'm feeding my DVD in through digital coax, but my DirecTV and XBox both supply Dolby Digital 5.1 via optical output only. While these cables seem a bit delicate (I certainly wouldn't want to step on them, and I was careful not to bend them around sharp corners during setup) they work perfectly! Digital is all-or-nothing, either you get the full signal or you don't. There's no need to buy $20 - $50 digital optical cables from Monster or any other manufacturer, these will work great. My XBox sounds amazing when playing DD 5.1 games. 3 FT Digital Audio Optical TOSLink Cable Optic 3ft

OK, you have been shopping for cables to finish off your new home theater system and time after time a salesperson tells you about MONSTER cables. Well, when it comes to HDMI or Red/Blue/Green component cables, getting something nice with gold fittings is the way to go but spending big bucks to buy the MONSTER brand name is way over rated. Search our some similar but way cheaper cables on Amazon.com. Now regarding these optical cables. Brand means nothing. Transferring a light signal is transferring a light signal. A gold fitting means squat. As long as the optical cable you buy delivers the light signal from a cable box to your TV or audio system, you good to go. Example, I purchased a MONSTER Cable on sale for $38 bucks before I saw this cable on Amazon.com. Glad Circuit City has a 30 return policy with receipt because I sure used it. Once my less then less than a buck optical cable arrived and I saw that it delivered a light signal just like the MONSTER cable with the MONSTER price did, I returned that overpriced cable faster than you can say jack rabbit. When installing your optical cable, look close at the shape of the fitting and the shape of the whole it goes in. Kinda trick to make sure you are placing it in correctly and push it in snug. Do not jam it in without lining up which side is up. Also, do not crimp the cable. You are dealing with fiber optics here so keep the cord from bending at a sharp able to keep your light passageway from getting blocked. ENJOY AND SAVE BIG BUCKS.

Watch for the seller's name when you're buying these cables. I bought these 3-foot optical digital cables from Cmple, and a longer one a few days ago that came from Eforcity. It seems that those two brands and a couple of others come up randomly as sellers for this and similar items. Well, my Eforcity cable is good quality, has the gold ends and snug plugs that click in, and looks like the picture in the listing. The ones from Cmple are thin, no gold ends, no click. They look completely different. I posted a picture above in "User Pictures." They do work, but for how long is the question.

Compare this cable to a $20 dollar cable (same length) sold in a fancy box with a equally fancy brand name, then ask yourself if you notice any difference.

It will cost you $24 total to compare, then you'll start ordering all of your audio cables from parts express and you'll save a ton of $$ in the future.

I rarely write a review, but this product warrants one. I warn you not to buy it. I don't know about the quality of the optics but I had no complaint about the sound transmitted. However, when I removed one end of this thread-like cable from an optical switcher, the covering of the optical fiber tip broke off and remained in the switch. Besides leaving the cable's fiber denuded and exposed, this made it impossible to place another cable end in that receptacle of the switch. It took me over an hour and a trip to a hardware store (to purchase a miniscule screw) to successfully remove the broken plastic cover without damaging the switch.

This whole experience is exactly the reason not to do what I did, which was to save a few dollars on a piece of s___ and end up almost ruining a valuable component of my AV system.

I recommend the TOSLink cable supplied by Amazon for about $6 or $7--that is dirt cheap enough, right? It does the trick and is of much better manufacture.

These cables are very thin. Two of the tips broke off in side my units optical receptacle. They broke when I removed them. Very flimsy construction. I do not recommend using these in quality units. I threw them away.

3 FT Digital Audio Optical TOSLink Cable Optic 3ft

Sold by: Cmple.com, Inc

I broadly figured all optical cables were born equal. Not so. On unwrapping and inserting the cable to my system the protective covering broke off inside my device. Not only is the cable worthless (zero sound), the device I plugged it into is also useless, as it has the ring of cover of the fiber optic suck in it, such that no other cables can be plugged in. Learn from my mistake, spend a little more and get a better cable.

This product works great if you plan on plugging a unit in and leaving it.

For me I take my headset systems every where, so I'm constantly unplugging and replugging it.

Eventually the plastic covering the optical signal broke off and got stuck in my optical switch and in my Xbox.

The quality is not good so I would stay away from this product. - Optical Cable - 1080p - Digital Audio - Digital Cable'

Fiscal Responsibility - fiscal responsibility, embezzlement

As typical of a textbook format, this book goes into detail of Fraud and actually repeats much of the information. It was interesting to see how Enron and Worldcom have affected the search for and detection of Fraud. For a class, this would make a great textbook, but for general reading, it was a bit difficult to get through the whole book. Accountant's Guide to Fraud Detection and Control

Whether you are a mystery reader or a professional auditor or a CEO/CFO, you will gain from reading this book.

Mr Howard Silverstone shared his experience magnanimously. He guided the reader patiently using easily followed step-by-step approach to carry out fraud investigation.

However, I find (and Mr Howard Silverstone kept repeating in the book) that the facts are over-simplified. I suspected this has been the case to enable non-expert to follow the book.

In essence, this is a book that allows all levels of readers to heighten their awareness on the presence of fraud penetrators and the need to enhance internal controls as a deterrent.

Fraud is ever present, especially now. Authors Howard Silverstone and Howard R. Davia suggest that in recent years fraud has moved from the periphery of the corporate world to the center of it - from small, unprofitable, marginal companies to the biggest blue chips. The headlines about Enron, WorldCom and Global Crossing suggest that the authors are right. They do a commendable job of categorizing and explaining various kinds of fraud and the circumstances that make scams profitable. They offer enough anecdotes to fill a mystery novel writer's idea file for a year. Given that their book is also accessible, intelligible and, at times, even entertaining, we recommend protecting your company by reading it carefully. This may be your opportunity to avoid ever finding yourself at a board meeting trying to figure out "Who done it?" - Fiscal Responsibility - Bookkeeping - Forensics - Embezzlement'

Kindle Leather Cover - neoprene case, kindle dx

I like it because it covers my Kindle DX but isn't attached to it. I can take the Kindle DX out, use it and then put it back in. Also important to me, it closes all the way around preventing dust/dirt from getting on the Kindle when toting it around.

My only complaints:

- It's expensive for what it is. $20-30 would have been a more reasonable price. Granted, I still paid for it so I guess it is the 'right price'.

- It's slightly too big. I would have preferred that the Kindle fit more snuggly inside. As it is it seems like it's about .5-inch too big on both the length and width.

I'd recommend it over the Amazon leather cover because:

- it doesn't attach (you can read about those problems in reviews for the Amazon version)

- it zips up and keeps dust/dirt from getting on your Kindle Belkin Neoprene Kindle DX Case (Fits 9.7" Display, Latest and 2nd Generation Kindles)

Recently I took this on several plane trips across country in carry-on luggage. This sleeve worked well protecting the DX from bumps, crushing and seat junk left by previous passengers. It's expensive for what it is, but it is well constructed. The zipper seems very sturdy. It looks very professional.

On the other hand there isn't a place for the USB cable. If you want to be able to read while the Kindle is in the sleeve then this is not the sleeve for you. Finally the fake leather part does not cover the entire screen so something sharp might be able to puncture it and damage the screen.

This product is sturdy, and fully closed and zipped will help protect your kindle if it's in a carry on bag with dirt and debris.

CAREFUL: The additional photos show the product barely opens on two sides - just enough to easily take your Kindle in and out. But once the kindle is out, this case sits at your side, not offering any protection while you use your kindle. I tried just holding the kindle on the case when reading, but dropped it twice when it slid out of my grip leaving me just holding the case.

I returned this and bought the Amazon leather cover which securely holds kindle, and you can fully fold the front cover behind it when reading the kindle... the advantage is if you drop it, there are leather edges on the folder that will help buffer the fall.

If you aren't clumsy like me and will never drop it, you don't need to worry about it. Otherwise, go for the Amazon cover that locks the kindle in the cover and snag an expanding office folder with cover flap to carry it in briefcases and carry on bags.

This case is very well made and I'm sure it'll last a long time. I agree with one of the other reviewers that they should have made the "leather" cover the entire screen of the DX, not just 3/4 of the screen. I disagree with another reviewer who said that the case is 1/2 inch too big in length and width- it fits the DX almost perfectly, and the DX does not slide around inside the case.

I put the word 'leather' in quotes above because Amazon advertises it as being made of "high-quality leather," but the manufacturer's tag says "faux leather." Amazon should not be charging $45 for a case made with faux leather. I'm keeping it because it protects the DX better than any other case available, but the price Amazon is charging is more than the case is worth.

I feel this case could offer a little more. I carry my Kindle with me almost everywhere I go so I also have my charger with me (and have had to use it on occasion). I have to force the zipper closed when I am ready to take off. Maybe something with a pocket on the outside to hold this would be a good idea.

This is an excellent case for the following reasons:

1) Protective: The neoprene inside will protect the Kindle DX from scratches and the usual bumps. (It isn't strong enough to protect from sharp blows to the screen, or dropping.)

2) Zipper zips sufficiently far around that you can get the Kindle in and out very easily, and without the zipper causing a scratch. (Which it wouldn't anyway, as it is plastic, and the teeth are on the outside of case when unzipped, away from where you'd be sliding the Kindle in or out.)

3) Feels good to carry. The Kindle is snug enough that it doesn't slide around inside it, and both the cloth parts and faux leather parts of the outside of the cover feel good on the hands.

4) Fits the Kindle DX well. In fact, even if you have the Kindle in a silicone sleeve it will still fit (very snugly) inside the case. (But the silicone sleeve is unnecessary if you have the case, I took mine off. It also doesn't slide as easily in or out with the silicone sleeve on.)

5) Looks clean and simple, not ostentatious, and is also light.

Possible improvement for future revisions of this product:

1) A little half-pocket inside to slip a business card into so that when you leave your Kindle behind in a cafe the new owner can know who to thank.

(This review doesn't have a "Amazon verified purchase" tag because I received it as a gift from someone who bought it at Amazon.com.)

Be very careful when opening your Belkin Kindle case. The Kindle can slide out the bottom or side and crash to the floor if you are not careful. Always have the case level and the zipper facing up before you open it. My Kindle was trashed when I opened the bottom while holding the case upright and the Kindle fell onto a concrete floor.

I bought this last year after I purchased my 2nd gen Kindle. I had looked at all the different holders for my kindle, but this one caught my attention. I absolutely love it!!! It protects my kindle completely. I am always carrying my kindle in it and it goes just about everywhere I go. I can have it in the cover and stick the whole thing in either my purse or computer bag and the cover protects the kindle from scratches. I also take my kindle out and use the cover to set my kindle on when reading on a flat surface like a table or desk, this way the back of the kindle is not scratched either. If you are looking for a kindle holder that can carry the charger as well, then this is not for you. - Kindle Dx - Leather Cover - Neoprene Case - Kindle Dx Case'
