Multi-direction - db8, hd antenna

Buying an antenna for your digital TV receiver? It can be difficult, eh? If you live in the city near the transmitters, it's fairly easy -- any small, truly omni-directional antenna will do fine (perhaps the Antennas Direct DB2). If, like me, you live 50+ miles from the TV transmitters and they're in different directions, it becomes a challenge. Here's some tips:

- No antenna is totally "omni-directional" (receives from all directions) no matter what the ad says. Every antenna receives better in one direction than another, and the high-gain antennas are the most picky. Your TV's rabbit ears antenna might do better than a fancy high-gain antenna if it's pointed in the wrong direction. If you buy a "uni-directional" or high-gain antenna, be prepared to spend a lot of time tweaking the direction.

- Don't believe the high-gain ratings, they're mostly marketing hype. There are independent web sites by antenna nerds that rate antennas fairly, so do some research. What you'll find is that every antenna receives some channels better than others -- for instance, it may have great reception ("gain") for channels 30-60 but be terrible for channels 1-20. Ideally, buy an antenna that has has good gain for the channel(s) you're most interested in... if you know what those are.

- Antennas are highly sensitive to position, direction, and things nearby that might interfere with the signals (trees, houses, traffic, the family dog, etc). So what works for me or your neighbor might not work for you. Even a slightly different location may have a huge effect on your reception.

I have a Channelmaster 4221 and an AntennasDirect DB8, one pointed at distant Seattle and the other pointed at Canada, and both connected to an RCA A/B antenna switch. Both antennas are excellent; the DB8 is slightly more sensitive but extremely hard to point. I would rate it 5-stars except it didn't come assembled and the assembly instructions are a bit puzzling. Construction and materials are good. The Channelmaster 4221 is somewhat easier to point but still highly directional; it came mostly assembled. Gain is good in my location. I'm only rating it four stars because the construction is less solid. If you're looking at these same two antennas but unsure of what to buy, I'd start with the 4221: it's much cheaper and more forgiving about the pointing direction. If you find yourself needing better reception, perhaps buy a preamp to go with it; if that still doesn't work, maybe move up to the DB8 or a higher mounting location.

Good luck! Antennas Direct DB8 Multidirectional HDTV Antenna

I live about 35 miles from the city where the transmitters are located, with a few trees obstructing a clear shot from my roof. But since I was determined to eliminate our monthly cable bill and go with FREE instead, I looked at many different outdoor antennas and read dozens of reviews. I also found out signals in the air are 100% HD, whereas cable compresses the signal to around 70%. But you probably already know that if you're looking for an outdoor antenna...

Anyway, after weeks of research I decided to try the DB8. When we first cancelled cable, I was getting 16 channels using RCA's "best" amplified indoor antenna. After hooking up the DB8 on the roof and aiming it in the general direction of the city, I got 35 channels. I eventually added a Motorola Signal Booster to the line in order to get the local ABC affiliate that is a little further away, bringing the total to 36 channels.

Needless to say, I love this thing. Years ago we had the conventional old school "arrow" looking outdoor antenna. It pulled in about a dozen stations, half were all fuzzy. But with digital, it's all or nothing. Fuzzy won't cut it. So I'd highly recommend the DB8. It simply works better. That, and it looks cool, the neighbors probably think I'm contacting Mars, lol.

I also found out a few other things along the way, which may be helpful if you're new at this... As with most outdoor antennas, you'll need a few other things to hook it up:

1. Antenna mast (the pole the antenna mounts on)

2. Mounting hardware (basically 3 types: wall mount, tripod roof mount, or chimney mount)

3. Coaxial grounding block (connects the antenna cable to copper grounding wire)

4. Copper grounding wire (enough to go from the grounding block to the grounding rod)

5. Copper grounding rod (9 ft long copper pole that hammers into the ground)

6. Grounding rod connector (connects the grounding wire to the grounding rod)

7. And of course, coaxial cable. If you're running custom lengths you'll also need connectors, a coaxial wire stripper and crimping tool.

A few other tips... TIP 1: I noticed every antenna mast and mounting bracket I've seen on other roofs are seriously rusted. Rusted to the point they're staining the roof. So pick up a can of Rustoleum and spray paint your mast and mounting brackets before assembly. Just don't paint the antenna or grounding hardware. TIP 2: Pick up a cheap rubber chair leg tip and stick it on the top on the mast to keep the inside dry. TIP 3: Don't underestimate the importance of grounding your antenna. You're basically putting a large lightning rod on your house, so it's worth the extra time and money to make sure the lightning goes to the ground and not your family room. TIP 4: Say a prayer that you don't fall off the roof and die. - Tv Antenna - Db8 - Hd Antenna - Outdoor Antenna'

It's great that you are getting five with the order, because the first one will be pretty much destroyed as you learn to apply it properly. Unimpressed by the included burnisher - a small square of cardboard. Use a credit card for better results. Once applied, the product fits well and does the job. 5 Pack of Premium Crystal Clear Screen Protectors for Samsung Galaxy S i9000 [Accessory Export Brand Packaging]

The install instructions are provided as a You Tube link that doesn't exist. In spite of that, I installed without too much trouble. Seems to provide the screen protection I was hoping for and screen sensitivity does not appear to be affected. Recommend.

I have read several people comments who have gotten same problem than me. I ordered this product and never received it. I'm waiting for an explication from seller. At this moment I don't recommend you buy this product neither use this seller.

I ordered this product and never received it. I contacted Amazon and the purchaser. I was contacted by the purchaser and they said they would send me a 10 pack "absolutely free"....all I had to do was go back into Amazon and change my review. I was willing to consider it but guess what? The "free 10 pack" never arrived! I would not consider another purchase!

I ordered these & received the wrong size - called the company & they told me to return them for an exchange of the correct size - I did but never received refund or the exchanged product. Disappointed! - Accessory Kits'

Harold Davis - photography, harold davis

This manual of practical advice for the macro photographer considers everything from choice of equipment to optimum workflow techniques. Through color-coded chapters, it distinguishes between the variety of lenses, cameras, supports, lighting, software and studio equipment available to the contemporary digital photographer. Technical aspects of three-dimensional scanning and post-production image enhancement are also covered using precise charts, graphs, formulas, and sample images. A helpful glossary and list of resources are included at the end.

The sensibly structured approach of Adrian Davies' writing is somewhat dry but comprehensible and quite logical. His insight clues us in to how to modify the macro process depending upon the specific type of subject matter being photographed. He manages to de-mystify such concepts as depth-of-field, histograms, image size and camera settings in an intelligible manner. Of particular interest are examples that delineate ultraviolet fluorescence, imaginative backlighting, polarized light, and image sequencing. Whether used by a professional for scientific documentation or by an amateur for purely creative endeavors, //Close-up and Macro Photography// is a valuable reference that could save time, effort and money for anyone involved in this particular field.

Reviewed by Richard Mandrachio Close-Up and Macro Photography

I can't wait to get out and take the pictures of the Spring flowers. This book has many hints that will guide you through the process of taking not good but great macro shots. Before, I used to use a technique similar to "hit and miss" (I think a very popular one when applied to macros) and there were many that I missed. I've learned better now.

Book Review by Thorsten Gohl (member - Vancouver InDesign User Group)

Close-up and Macro Photography by Adrian Davies (Focal Press)

First when I read the title, it seemed to me that it is concentrating on different camera and lighting techniques for macro photography. It includes these topics, but also gives you a greater idea about photography workflow, from the pre-production, set up, shot and post-production. Maybe a little bit too much general information for one book if your focus is the photography of close-up and macro photography.

The layout of the chapters is very easy to follow. It is talking about image chapter, lenses, camera support, lighting, macro studio and workflow. Again, it seemed like there is much too much detail about general photography rather than focusing on more important things and taking to more time explain them. The book is clear and precise, step by step. Like page 21 with the spot metering explanation, it is great for the reader to know that you should focus your meter (in this case spot meter) on the butterfly to get the right exposure. It is explained well and the images help to understand it even more.

Overall, I feel that the book is for beginners with some advanced knowledge. The part about depth of field, the sensor plain, plain of sharp focus, the lighting rays might be a little bit too much for the starter in photograph, but I think it is really interesting and if you want to improve your images by understanding what happens when you click the shutter, even necessary. All in all, I had fun reading it and also got some good reminders out of it.

Close-Up and Macro Photography is a brilliant resource but only really offers a little for those who have been taking photos for a while. I'm a completely self-taught amateur photographer and I, personally, only found helpful info in the chapters on lighting and camera supports (hence my rating of only 3 stars).

For total beginners, however, there's a wealth of information to be found: image capture, lenses, camera supports, lighting, macro studios plus workflow and image processing (including some tricks to enhance photos in Photoshop). Were I beginner, this book would have landed a 4-5 star rating.

This book is good as a reference, I expected more helpful information in regard to practical macro and close-up photography and equipments. I had no experience in macro photography when I read it, It did help me to realise how cool macrophotography is. Book knowledge is different from practice. I am enjoying my taking close up and macro pictures, if anyone is interested, try doing it, you will really enjoy. - Harold Davis - Macro Photography - Equipment - Photography'

The download service works well enough, but this is supposed to be a LAN game. Enix is forcing you to sign up for an on-line service just to play the freakin' demo! They ruined DSIII as a RPG game, and they have ruined it as a LAN game as well. Further, their internet gaming server software is the most defective garbage I have seen in 20 years. Stay away from this product; it blows! Dungeon Siege 3 - Demo [Download]

Spent more than a few hours trying to get the game to load.Went through all the FAQ tips and several download attempts. Copy would not validate. Have had suscess with several other games from streaming.

i wrote a very heated dislike comment concerning this game istill dont really enjoy it but iam forgetting how much hard work was involve by many different people to developed it. i apoligize at any rate i was looking for a dungeon seige type game that somewhat resembles the two originals 1 and 2 this is a entirely new type of game but its decent thanks

Played the first two Dungeon Siege gmaes, several times over the years. They can get monotinous, tiresome, but they are entertaining. HOWEVER, this new DS3 is...how can I put this diplomatically,,,,JUNK. A rip off of 60USD, a waste at 40 USD, and now at 20USD it is more in line with reason. However, it still is a pitiful offering. The controls need overhaul, the loot is TRASH, and the stilted acting begs for groans and guffaws. Played the demo thru several times to aquaint self w/ controls, and STILL got irritated at having to stop play or interupt scenes to loot or change-up items. AND on top of poor design, you have to use STEAM to play the game. FREE service, and worth every penny. Drop frames, slow-mo, lag, and other irritants, made me ask for my money back. Perhaps, I am just dissapointed after looking forward to this offering, and time may mellow my view, but HEY, why pay for a game you can't use w/o the permission of STEAM, or sony, or .....? This from a ten yr EQ vet.If you dont mind the aggr, and have 20USD to throw away, go for it...Otherwise look at Morrowind, Elder Scrolls series. At least try the DEMO first....IT had its moments.

well after being a dedicated Diablo nut and then got sick of waiting for blizzard to release Diablo 3 ; I went and bought dungeon siege 3 and well im so impressed with the graphics the game play is sweet. The views are awesome and the way u can change your views and all works well.

Sick graphics and well made story line but tends to annoy after u have done the scne but must go back if you die ! lol good luck i recomend

9 hours to download on cable (they say 2.5). Didn't know it was an online version as I refuse to pay for such services. Now add that the game wants another 3+ hours to initialize. Sorry, you just lost a sale. Don't bother with the demo unless you have ample bandwidth and time to spare.

A friend of mine downloaded this demo game a while back and we tried for a long while to get it working correctly through all of the steps provided. After a few hours we decided to give up on trying. I would have liked to have played it.

The game looks interesting and it appears as though you can get the demo but if you try to download this demo what you actually get is software for Steam. Steam requires you to create an account to log in to its service. I did not do this so I do not know if there is any other misdirection after that. If the steam service is required Amazon should put that somewhere in the description.

Edit: Correction, there is a spot in the description that says a steam account is required. My mistake.

Like most of the demo's of games I've downloaded they are mostly all unplayable despite the fact my system in only six months old, kind of lame. So I can't write a game review but can say it seems like if you not running a dual core processor your not gonna be able to play ninety nine percent of the games outhere. So no review just another glitchy waste of my time. Kind of blows there's money to be made off us if they would just make games our comps could handle. - Rpg'

Htc Inspire - htc inspire 4g, htc inspire

This case is great. It's very snug on my phone and I like how the buttons stick out so they are easy to find without looking at the phone!

It does add some bulk but that is just fine with me. That just makes it easier to hold!

Originally, this was suppose to be a temporary cover till I could find an Outter Box, but now, I may just keep this one!

I've only had it for about a week but so far, it is well worth the $10 I paid. Amzer Silicone Skin Jelly Case for HTC Inspire 4G - Black

I ordered this product on a Sunday, and it came on a Wednesday with standard shipping. It is a great phone case, and is very practical. It will not make your HTC Inspire too thick but still protect it. It's kinda like hard rubber, but is not very sticky like some other cases like it. One of my favorite things about it is its X design on the back that includes reinforced corners. I've had cases for iPods and iPhones that have always been ruined by ripped/torn corners.

This case does what it's supposed to do; it encases the HTC Inspire in a nice fit.

Compared to what I paid for my iPod Touch's case (~$2) this similar sized case was fairly expensive (~$10) but it is still one of the cheapest cases.

I have the black case and it looks nice. The extra padding makes the already large phone slightly larger and the rubbery texture makes it a little harder to slide down your pants pocket, especially if you wear skinny jeans.

My only real complaint would be that the status bar is a little hard to swipe down because the case covers the top of the phone.

Overall, it does what you want it to do and you will get it within a couple days! Try not to scratch up the phone that much before it gets to you!

RateMeister

[...]

This case is definitely one of the best out there for the HTC Inspire 4G. I've tried 3 others before this, and I gotta say none of them even compare. Great value and great case. Worth the $10 without question.

This is my 3rd "jelly" case for a phone that I bought so I have some experience with similar products. This one is definitely the best one that I have ever used. It is what I expected the others to be but were not.

So what is to like about this product? First (and perhaps most important) is that it FITS the phone well. In the past the other rubber cases that I had were too loose making the phone difficult to use (i.e. pushing buttons would almost take the phone out of the case, putting in you pocket would do the same). This is not true for this skin. It fits very well. You can push buttons and place it in you pocket without any problems.

Second, the buttons on the phone work BETTER with the skin on. Yes, BETTER! Especially the volume. True you have to push a bit harder, but finding them is easier because the case exaggerates the buttons more than the actual phone does.

Third, it is a well designed case made of quality material. It is a thick case but not too thick. In addition, it is textured in certain places so it is easy to grip and hold on to. This is a huge plus in my opinion. Also, it has reinforced corners. This is important for any accidental drops.

Bottom line: A well deigned case made of quality material. If you are someone who places your phone in your pockets, this product works well (I do not know about purses--sorry ladies). I coupled this with the Skinomi screen protector (another great product) and paid way less for both ($20) than I would have paid for Best Buy's offerings (which were $40).

I got this silicone skin jelly case 2 weeks ago. So far this is looking good and heavy, but I am quite not satisfied with this case completely. My phone looks fat and due to more friction it is very difficult to slip my phone into my pockets. Now looking for another better option for this. I wont recommend this to my friend.

The part near the ear is a bit too soft, I think. The slit leaves a thin band which tends to bend as I pull the phone out of my pocket. Remains to be seen how durable it is, but so far, it does what I need. I found the bare phone way too slippery, and knew I would drop it if I didn't get a spongy covered case for it.

For the money, should be ok. Maybe what I really need is a hard case with a sticky exterior, like a clamshell I had on my Blackberry. - Htc Inspire - Htc Inspire Case - Htc Inspire 4g - Htc Desire Hd'

Black - 32 inch, led

Well I saw this tv on sale and I just couldn't let it slide. I had been looking for a second tv mainly for ps3 and computer use. I currently own a 23" samsung px2370 which is amazing however its just not big enough for me so I decided to try out this bad boy. First off I went to go check it out at my local box store and it looked great 3mil:1 contrast, 2.4 ms response, led backlit, usb 2.0, and its super slim with a nice cabinet. The main thing I noticed when I was at the store was how nice and uniformed the color looked and the angles of the tv were great. I bought the tv off of amazon straight through them with free 3-5 day shipping I believe it was and I actually received it in two days. I plugged in the tv and connected my playstation and head on it seems okay but not what I remember seeing in the box store and the viewing angles are horrible. If I am not right in front of the tv the colors almost look washed or worn out. I did some research on it and figured maybe it was something I was doing wrong maybe I had to calibrate the screen or something? No sir, unfortunately what I found out was that LG put different panels in these tv's some have what are called IPS Panels (IPS Panels are the nicer panels and is what I saw in the box store) and some have VA Panels (what I bought on Amazon, not saying its Amazon's fault its just LG not putting the same panels in all the le5300's). I am very displeased with the way LG could do this. Thats like porsche making there cars with hyundai parts. It just doesn't make sense that they could do that, I mean there should be some kind of regulations council to prevent companies from doing stuff like this.I am now hoping that Amazon will let me return the tv and refund me all my money. I would have love to gotten the one at the box store when they had their sale, given it was about 50 bucks more but at least I would have known I was getting the one I wanted. I also found out that the tvs that have the IPS Panels have a W in the serial number or if you have a magnify glass or a camera you can zoom in and see that the pixels of the IPS panels are shaped like this < while the VA panels are shaped like squares. The IPS panels are superior, offer better viewing angels, and better coloring. So all in all this tv is a steal if you can get it with IPS panel. LG 32LE5300 32-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LED LCD VA Panel HDTV, Black

I've purchased two of these sets. Both of them were equipped with VA panels (there is a D in the serial #). Apparently LG uses a high quality S-IPS panel in some of their sets (has a W in the serial #) & some with the inferior VA panel. The input lag of a VA panel & horrible picture quality / viewing angles are not acceptable. AMAZON's customer service, as always was exceptional. They couldn't guarantee me IPS panels so the sets ended up going back & refunds were issued. AMAZON gets five stars, but LG would get 0 stars. If you are one of the lucky ones who received an IPS panel, congratulations. This would explain why the reviews are so varied.

This is an excellent TV, especially for the price point - beautiful, sharp colors, great viewing angle, very thin LED design, and light weight as compared to traditional LCDs. While I would generally prefer a larger screen, the space I bought it for - Armoire in a bedroom, would only accommodate 32in. This is a perfect size for a bedroom or smaller living space. I compared this TV against a leading brand 32in LED at a local store and while this LED was slightly thicker and heavier, the colors on the screen were much brighter and facial features much more defined than the competition - and best of all its less expensive. The design is very modern - sharp lines, thin LED. It states Silver Grey in the description, but the bezel and stand are glossy black. I like it so well, I just ordered another one on Amazon.com!

LG32le5300

Pro -

* Excellent HD picture quality

* Bright clear image

* High contrast (LED backlight)

* Good off axis viewing angle - the farther from direct 90 deg you go the lighter the image becomes as contrast drops off, but still watchable at large angles.

Con (ish)-

* Lower quality SD picture (Less than 720p is noticeably inferior to other sets)

* Sound from onboard speakers marginal

* Colors look artificial out of the box (Requires several tweaks to gain realism)

* Too much white in some areas (blooming) until you really knock back the backlight and white levels.

Overall impression - For the money, if you feed the LG a good signal (720p or better), and tweak the colors and white levels, it's hard to beat the image quality.

I started by looking at everything in the stores. I ruled out Samsung because of the price even though I really like the quality of their image.

I had the LG32le5300 and the Sony KDL32ex500 in my office for direct comparison.

I chose the LG due to the higher HD image quality and overall good picture after a lot of tweaking and turning off some of the whiz bang features. SD images are lower quality than the Sony, but content is only getting better from all sources, not worse. For the money, if you feed the LG a good signal (720p or better), it's hard to beat the image quality.

I got the tv yesterday. The picture is fantastic. The facial features of actors are extremely clear.

I used a digital optical connection and cable to connect the tv to my stereo. The stereo is just an 85 W sony a/v with two speakers.

When operated this way, the sound is as good as the picture.

The paper owner's manual is a bit of a negative. A disc is included, but I haven't tried that yet.

I would definitely recommend this tv.

Amazon had the lowest price and free shipping.

Definitely one of the best TVs I have ever used. Actually it is the best, but this is the first LED TV I have ever owned so it is not fair to the others. Great picture, great features, and good sound. I don't know if the sound is good enough to call great, but it is definitely better than all my previous TVs.

The only bad thing about this TV is that the holes on the back of this TV for a wall mount are very close together. The wall mounts that work for the other 8 or 10 TVs in my house will not fit this one. The only wall mounts that work for this TV are small ones that I don't like. Also the manual is confusing because it is made for several different models and the layout is poor. However, most of what is in the manual it common sense.

I am very impressed that so far this TV has got 5 stars on 5 out of 6 reviews here, and 5 stars on all 52 reviews on Best Buy!

UPDATE: By the way, I notice people saying that truMotion is bad, garbage, etc. It actually is not. I found out that sometimes it is choppy and sometimes it is not. For me it is only choppy if I am watching something that is not HD or if it is an old movie that was made before HD existed and converted to HD. But, for shows that is true HD or for games like XBOX 360 it is a good feature. I have mine turned off on my HDMI 1 because it is where I watch TV shows. However, I have it turned on for HDMI 2 since I have my XBOX connected there. - 32 Inch - Led - Hdtv - 120hz'

I got this one and another case for my Ipod 4 touch and it has a large chunk missing from the bottom right side next to the headphone plug in. Accessoryone claims it was made that way so that it's easier to remove, but it isn't. Also the paint is chipping away on it and i've only had it for not even 2 weeks before it started to chip. I'll never buy from accessoryone nor this brand again. Blue Flower 2d Hard Snap-on Crystal Skin Case Cover Accessory for Ipod Touch 4th Generation 4g 4 8gb 32gb 64gb New By Electromaster

This is a two piece case so it covers part of the front of the itouch and it is too thick for me. I tried to take it off without breaking it, but breaking it appears to be the only way to get it off. I like all of the following cases much better. GTMax Durable Rubber Hard Snap On Crystal Cover Case - (bought it in Dark Blue (favorite color), Green, and black). Also bought Premium Rubberized Hard Crystal Case Cover for Apple iPod Touch 4G, 4th Generation, 4th Gen - Red. They all worked much better than this one for my family. Seller shipped it quickly.

I loved the Blue Flower hard case for my iPod Touch but, when I tried to take it off it broke. I will not buy that type of case again. About the seller I have nothing negative to say. My order came with no problem.

The case has much more vibrant colors in person than in the picture. I've had this for a while now, and the color is starting to chip off at the edges, but that's not a big deal to me. This case is really hard to take off though. Fits perfectly. I've dropped my iPod a couple of times, but the case doesn't pop open. Overall, I'm pretty satisfied.

Okay, I wanted to give this 4 stars but just like the other reviewers said, it's not perfect. I gave it 3 because it is worth the money. If you want a cheap but aesthetically appealing case, this is good. It cost me what, 0.81 + s/h (2.98)...that's cheap!

The down side, it looks a little cheap. The front and back parts down line up pefectly and make for a rough edge where they connect. The surface of it item itself is very smooth except for one spot where if this was painted, it looked like they poured to much paint and made a ridge, a lump. I'm not sure what that lumpy gathering is at the top of mine, it makes me want to pick it off...

Anyway, it will work for less than $4

This case is awesome I've dropped it over 10 times and it hasn't broken yet.Blue Flower 2d Hard Snap-on Crystal Skin Case Cover Accessory for Ipod Touch 4th Generation 4g 4 8gb 32gb 64gb New By Electromaster - Holsters - Otterbox - Ipod Accessories'

Sony Dvd Player - hdmi, sony

This newly developed Samsung DVD is an unbelievably great DVD for only $35.00 including taxes and delivery. I was looking for the newest DVD players at a good price. My problem was there was not one review on this DVD player.

Great upconverting picture, sound, fast loading, reads and plays really bad discs that would skip or freeze on my old dvd/vcr player. Plays burned DVDs with no problems. Very easy to set up and hook up.

I bought this as a replacement for a refurbished Toshiba DVD player that only lasted 15 mos. I have used this DVD player for 1 day. The only problem is an incredibly small remote which is hard to read if you need reading glasses and no hdmi port. Samsung DVD-C350 DVD Player (Black)

I bought this cheap DVD player for the bed-room.

In the living room we have a big HDTV, with an HDMI DVD player.... and lots of fancy shmancy stuff.

But in the bed room for my old standard def TV, I just wanted a cheap DVD player, and didnt care about HD or Blue-Ray.

I looked at a bunch on Amazon for under $50, and decided on this one.

So far so good!

I didnt care about Component Cables, or HDMI. I just wanted an old fashioned AV-out or Coaxial-out DVD player.

This unit is sleek looking, simple, light, and came with a small simple remote control. I set it up in literally 2 minutes, and was watching DVD's in bed!

I give it 5 stars.(So long as it doesnt break!)...(if it does I'll be sure to come change this review.)

So if your looking for a cheap, Non-HD, non-fancy DVD player, this is it.

This DVD player never worked. I sent it back to Samsung and they sent back the same item without fixing it. I asked for them to send a replacement and they wanted to put me through the weeks-long process of sending this one back once again and getting a new one. I don't trust them to replace it, so I'm returning it to Amazon. You'd think Samsung could give a greatly inconvenienced customer a break! I bought this almost 2 months ago and have still not had the chance to watch even one DVD!! Glad that Amazon has a no-hassle return policy.

Never again will I buy a Samsung product.

I rarely ever give anything one star.... but this one deserves it. From day 1 it was really slow to boot up, and after watching just a couple of movies, it would start skipping. I've never had to clean a DVD player so much! Even after cleaning sometimes it wouldn't work properly! I only wish I returned it the moment I got it. It's the biggest piece of crap I have ever owned.

Buyer Beware- take another $10 and buy something worthy... I guess the old saying is true- you get what you pay for!

It started out fine, simple but seemed to work okay. In less than 3 weeks though every DVD I tried to play (retail DVDs, DVD-Rs & DVD-RWs) started skipping and distorting kinda of like when your cable or dish is acting up. possibly the worst electronic device I bought since ... well I honestly can't think of anything that was worse than this item. Buy at your own risk. I have a $40 DVD player I bought at Wal-Mart a year ago that is used an average of 4 hours daily that works great.

We purchased this Samsung DVD player and were very dissatisfied. First off, the remote control is TINY! It's about the same size as a small, travel-sized USB mouse for your laptop. Not a huge deal to me because I have good eyes and nimble fingers. But the player also experienced a lot of problems with invalid format errors. We have several DVDs we've burned ourselves and this player was unable to play many of them. Plus, even with our pristine, unscratched DVDs that were purchased from reliable retailers, the player would skip a lot. Rarely did we make it through an entire movie without the player skipping at least once or twice. We ended up returning it and exchanging it for a PIONEER DV-220V-K (which works great by the way).

If you tasked a team to design the absolute cheapest DVD possible and then add $0.50 worth of shiny plastic so that it would sell, this would be the result.

Both the unit and the remote are small and ultra light. The only 3 buttons on the player's face can't be pushed without holding down the player or else it just just slides away. I don't think that it even has rubber feet. If you're over 40 and occasionally need reading glasses, like me, you'll need them to read the remote or the symbols on the 3 player buttons.

The only ports are RCA and Composite output.

Nevertheless, it works.

this product was difficult to use at best.

On top of that, 3 months after purchasing, it no longer works.

AND according to the seller's policy, not allowed to return or exchange !

I would say DO NOT purchase this item, and DO NOT purchase from this seller.

A simple, inexpensive DVD player was needed so I could watch bad movies while exercising. My old DVD player failed several months ago and I could only take so much of CNN. The Samsung player filled the need very well. It works, it is simple to use and it is quite small. - Hdmi - Dvd - Sony - 1080p Dvd Player'

Ipad 2 Case

The Toblino 2 Napa Leather case for the iPad 2 by Mobilevision is everything as described! It is made from real leather with a warm, soft feel; the stitching is even; the inside microfiber lining and padding appear to nicely protect the iPad; and, best of all, it arrived earlier than expected! As advertised, the cover does act like the Apple Smartcover in that it turns the iPad off when closed and then turns it on when it's opened. Considering this nicely constructed slim leather case provides over twice the protection for your iPad 2 (both the front and back as well as some of the sides) as compared to the Apple Smartcover (which protects only the front), provides equivalent functionality (multiple angle stand, magnetic on/off) without adding considerable bulk or weight, and is very close to the the same price ($39.95 for the Toblino 2 leather case versus $39.00 for the Apple polyurethane case), the Toblino 2 case provides more value for your money. Great job, Mobilevision!! Toblino 2: Leather iPad 2 Case (Folio Convertable Case Multi-angle Stand for the Apple iPad2)

we researched as many cases/covers as we could find for our ipad2, and finally decided on this one because of the stand function. it's great to be able to prop it up and play games, read, watch tv... not the best way to type but we don't type on it much. it looks much nicer than expected - looks very high quality. it's a tight fit, but not so tight that you can't pop the 2 clips off the side in order to prop it up on the stand. we love it & highly recommend this case.

I read the reviews of Toblino case on Amazon for ipad 1 and was waiting for the release of Toblino 2 eagerly although I got my ipad 2 on 15th March. This is exactly what I expected and what I waited for - a tight fitted yet flexible light weight case which looks like a folio. The napa leather is soft and has this simple yet elegant look and feel - not gaudy or flashy but just simply pleasant to hold and use. The soft microfiber interior and the proximity magnet (puts your ipad 2 to sleep whenever closed) are very welcome and useful additions. The case itself has tight hinges which firmly holds the ipad2 in place. You can also view and use the ipad 2 at multiple angles of tilt while in the case. One another excellent thing I noticed was that even though my ipad 2 has a clear screen protector on, while sliding into the case, the hinges didn't undo the screen protector at all. Overall I am very happy that I waited for this case and am very satisfied with its both its looks and performance.

I am very picky when it comes to cases. The Apple case without the back protection was no good. I bought a cheap leather folio type case with a built in stand but those cases cover the frame on the front of the iPad. I think as much of the iPad should be exposed as possible since it's such a nice gadget.

Then I went with a "gel" type case here on Amazon and while the iPad fit very snugly and was perfect, it wasn't tacky at all. It was just as slippery with the gel case as without one. So into the pile it went.

Enter this case. I ordered it figuring I'd return it if it wasn't to my liking but when I took it out of the packaging, I loved it right away. Sliding the iPad in I could tell it was going to be a very secure case. It was a tight fit but I prefer that over a looser one. The leather is nice, the magnetic shut off closure was a great idea and it doesn't seem (to me) to add a lot of weight or bulk. It's really professional looking when closed and sitting on the desk. Unlike the leather case with stand that I bought, this case has a cutout for the speaker, which is now located on the back of the iPad 2, unlike the iPad 1's bottom mounted speaker.

Now, the odd design choices:

1 - The slots were crucial for me and the first one has the iPad standing in a completely vertical position. I don't use that much and don't find it very useful. The second groove puts the iPad on a nice angle but for some reason when they cut the groove they did not give any consideration to the fact that the iPad is now on an angle so several times it has slipped out of that groove. Had they angled the groove rather than cutting it straight, it would have been much better.

2 - I think the lack of a third groove was probably shelved because had they included one that was cut straight and not angled, there is no way the iPad would remain in the slot. Again, a third groove could have been added had they angled the cut properly.

3 - Not sure if this is just the case that I got or if it's a design issue but there are four "clips" on the corners to secure the iPad in addition to the two slots that you slide it into. The two clips on the top have a fattish lip on them that holds the corners very securely. The bottom two clips on mine don't have any lip at all, so the corners just basically sit on them. The one that you remove when you want to use the iPad on an angled position is constantly sliding out of that clip. The iPad is still very secure but it's a little irritating. The outer clip doesn't let go of the corner unless you touch it but if you do, it pops out. Why they didn't put the fat lip on all four corners is a mystery. Essentially, you have one fat lip and one no lip to disengage in order to use the angled positions.

I have found that if you let the iPad just float you can press it down enough that eventually it will settle into a comfortable typing position. Not sure how sturdy it will remain but for now it's pretty good.

So far I love the case. It's almost perfect. If it had the fat lips on all four corners I'd give it five stars but since they are not there, it'll have to settle for 4.'

Apron With Three Pockets - apron, kitchen apparel

We needed good quality and inexpensive aprons for a community bicycle cooperative and these have really fit the bill. They are not the heavy weight shop aprons(that cost twice the price) but we have found them to be just what we wanted. The pockets are nice and big too.

I will be a repeat buyer. Port Authority® - Full Length Apron with Pockets., Washed Denim

i needed a work apron, mainly for finishing and painting. i was a little weary about the quality of fabric based on other reviews, but i ordered the dark green and am very satisfied. although being a softer weave cotton, it seems very sturdy and perfect for somewhat serious to light craft projects. the width and length may be a little shorter than what some people require-- i'm only about 5'2" 100lbs, and it does not swallow me like most "adult" aprons. the pockets could stand to be a little larger, but they are hand+; the right side pocket also has stitching for a pen/paintbrush. pretty neat!

I bought the coffee bean so that when I oil paint it won't get all over my clothes. It's exactly as it says and it seems to hold up fine. The neck adjustment strap is right at the left near your shoulder, so it can be a little awkward at first, but fine once you wear it a lot and get use to it. If you're looking for a cheap apron that is decent to good quality, then I'd highly recommend it.

The Port Authority men's apron is a good product. I wish the apron could have been a little longer, but the apron strings were at sufficient length. Also, the adjustable collar was a nice extra. The blazing red color certainly creates a festive setting. I must have liked the aprons because I bought seven of them! - Mens Apron - Apron - Kitchen Apparel - Chefs Uniforms'

Uninterrupted Power Supply Ups - no, uninterrupted power supply ups

These worked well.

I bought two, the company shipped them (inadequately packaged), I might add, and one was damaged on arrival.

I contacted them and they had me take digital pictures.

They then shipped out a new one, as well as a mailer for the old battery.

I was very pleased with them.

I didn't know these went bad in about three years; the old ones were almost impossible to remove.

They had swelled up, and I had to use a screwdriver to prize them out of each UPS.

So.... replace these after about 2 1/2 years to save yourself some trouble.

The replacements are working fine.

They were very hard to install, as the leads were quite short, but it's a

poor design on the UPS's part, not the battery manufacturer. Tripp Lite RBC51 Replacement Battery Cartridge for Select Tripp Lite and Other Major UPS Brands

Tripp Lite makes it pretty hard to find a replacement battery. This one worked for me. I saved me from sending the whole rack mounted UPS back to Tripp Lite. I was about to just punt, trash the unit, and buy a replacement rack mount UPS from APC. But this battery saved me from doing that. I opened up the Tripp Lite unit and looked at the dimensions of the battery and power ratings to verify that the battery specifcations matched. The replacement was easy to do.

I bought this cartridge to replace the batteries in my Tripp-Lite OMNIVS1000. I'm not exactly sure how old the UPS is, but I'd estimate buying it 5 to 7 years ago. Maybe the UPS design has changed in that time, but this cartridge was not a simple replacement for the original batteries. My unit came with a pair of 6V batteries connected in series to the UPS. This cartridge is a single unit with a 12V output, so one of these replaces the two old batteries. My OMNIVS1000 battery compartment has some plastic dividers that separate the two original batteries. This replacement is a little wider than one of the old batteries so it did not fit into either side of the battery compartment. I did a little trimming of the inside with a Dremel and then the new cartridge fit just fine. The battery can slide around in the UPS but it just sits quietly on the floor so I don't see a problem. This replacement is smaller than the total of the two old batteries so I'm guessing it has less storage capacity. However, it has been working fine so I don't regret the purchase. On the other hand, I have three more OMNIVS1000 units all about the same age so I needed more replacements. For those I purchased pairs of batteries that are exactly like the originals from [...].

One thing I found confusing when searching for replacement batteries was that some sites showed this single cartridge without spelling out that ONE of these replaces TWO old batteries. I realized only one of these is needed when I saw in the specifications that it's a 12V unit instead of the original 6V batteries. If your UPS is the same design as mine you will not be able to simply slide out the old batteries and slide in this one. Open the UPS and check what's in it now before you order any replacements so you understand what you need. Maybe the newer Tripp-Lite units are made to use a single battery like this one, but the older units definitely are not.

the tripplite omnivs1000 requires two of these and the cost of two batterys is almost the same as the whole ups. Whay does the ups makers have to make the ups stop functioning completely when the battery dies? It cannot even be used as power strip. - No - Computer Power Backup - Uninterrupted Power Supply Ups - Battery Backup'

All In One Printer - kodak printer, inkjet printer ink

Kodak cheats its printer users by running a print-head clean, which uses both black and color ink, after every print job. What does this mean to the end user? Lots of wasted ink.

I have owned my Kodak AiO printer for a couple of years, and it has been a dependable printer. In the course of those 2 years I've replaced both the black and color ink cartridges 5 times apiece. I have never printed a color document with this printer --- it's used only for printing black & white invoices and receipts. Still, my color ink cartridges run out at almost the exact same time as my black ink cartridges (usually within one or 2 printed pages). Kodak ink prices are very reasonable, but by forcing their printers to waste ink after each print, they ensure that you will be buying twice as much ink as you use. Another feature is that Kodak printers (or my EasyShare 5100, at least) will not print if either the color or black ink cartridge is empty. The printer won't print a B&W document unless it has color ink to waste after it prints! I continue to put up with my Kodak printer simply because Kodak's ink prices are low enough to be competitive, even though I basically have to purchase 1 color and 1 black cartridge for every black cartridge I use. Kodak Combo Ink Cartridge (8367849)

Colors are very vibrant and display true color. I had to print pictures for a new passport, and rather than driving all over the place, I took my self portrait, put the memory card in the card slot of the printer and printed off the "head shot". Certainly a whole lot cheaper than paying for the passport photos.

The combo ink cartridges normally saves money over buying single cartridges which are less expensive than other brands...only for Kodak brand printers. The ink lasts quite a bit longer than any other printer that I have owned, spending less for the ink than with any other printers I have ever owned (Lexmark, HP, Epson, etc.)

I have had very few problems with Kodak products but have ALWAYS been taken care of...customer service (Jonathan Bunch) makes me glad to be a Kodak customer.

I own a 5250 printer. Ink here is a good deal if you can wait a week for your ink. I would suggest getting the large size black cartridge. I am a trader and print a lot of charts and go through more black ink than most people might. Every purchase I have made through Amazon has been a first class experiance. Buy local if you need it fast . Otherwise I would buy here and add another product to get free shipping. P.S. Don't buy anything other than Kodak ink. I did and almost ruined the printer, lousey print quality resulted etc.

The ink cartridges for the Kodax ESP may be cheaper than the competition, but you will go through way more than you would with any other brand. The print heads "clean" their selves each time you print something thus wasting a massive amount of ink. It seems to be a marketing scheme to me. I am currently looking for a new printer. I will not donate or give my Kodak printer away. I will trash it for the simple fact that Kodak is blatantly taking advantage of its consumers.

Item came as described & in reasonable time. In terms of quality, it is a Kodak OEM product so it is what it is. Price is about the same elsewhere on line (no tax, free delivery), I just leaned on Amazon's name that's all.

First of all...this printer is tempermental about connecting to my wireless network. I have had to resort to using a cable...which stinks. And the cartridges say it will print 425 pages of blk/wht...funny how I bought a ream of paper at the same time and I've only used less than 1/4 of it and my ink is out...and I alway try to set my printing at DRAFT quality to conserve ink! I have hardly ever printed color sheets, but whatdoyaknow! The color cartridge is out at the same time as the black ink~! Rip off! So what if the ink is cheaper...you get less ink and they have the printer programed to say the color is out as soon as the blk is low. And it is slow! I really really don't like this printer...I'm only keeping it around because of paying way to much for it in the first place. - Kodak Printer - Ink Cartridge - Inkjet Printer Ink - All In One Printer'

Wool Socks - wool socks, socks

Do your feet a favor and lose the cotton socks. Go for wool whether winter or summer, and your feet will stay dry and comfortable. OTC is a must because it prevents flesh exposure when you cross your legs, and it's the only length that stays up. Gold Toe is the only brand I buy because the toe is bullet-proof. Other brands develop a hole in just a few wearings even with closely trimmed nails. Gold Toe Men's Windsor Wool Over the Calf Dress Sock, Black, 3-Pack Sock Size 10-13

I purchased these socks after my Lands End ones ALL developed holes at the heel. Therefore, I was a bit concerned when I first opened the order and found thinner socks than my last ones. I was anticipating holes again and that they would fall below my calves in a matter of weeks. However, it's been several months and so far so good. They are keeping their shape well and are not as hot as the Lands End variety.

I've purchased dress socks from Land's End and Jos A. Bank and they're very good, but at $25-$35 a pair, a bit pricey. The gold toe wool dress socks are not quite as thick, and probably not quite as durable, but a great value nonetheless. Highly recommended, very comfortable socks.

Update: After wearing them for a couple of years, I find them to be of very good quality. They don't pill and are very durable, even though a bit thinner than what I was used to. They are now my brand; I will buy nothing else.

If you have a shoe size between 9 and 11, these socks should fit you fine. They do an excellent job staying up and are good quality.

On the other hand, if you have feet larger than approximately 11, I would beware. Though the company says these socks have a foot size range from 6 to 12.5, after six months of laundering the heel is pretty much under the arch of my size 13 foot. I thought I'd be alright and the socks are not even close. - Socks - Wool Socks - Over-the-calf'
