Printer Accessories - paper, photo paper

I have used the whole line of Epson Premium papers and the Luster finish is my favorite. Using an Epson 1270 for years I was able to create high quality prints reliably and repeatedly. I recently upgraded to an Epson R1800, the print quality is now identical to conventional photo prints. Actually, since I hated darkroom dodging and burning sessions, my digital prints are vastly improved over their conventional counterparts due to the ease with witch proofs can be made. With the new R1800 prints come out instantly dry and beautiful.

This is the paper that allows you to have a true home print lab.

Price is the only drawback. (Sheets are cheaper than rolls.) Epson S041407 Premium Luster Photo Paper 13 X 19 (50-Sheet)

Best paper I have ever used and I've used them all! Works great on an HP 7760 printer and gives a clean, crystalline-like finish. Very professional appearing images and black area won't stick to glass frames like some other papers do. Worth the extra cost as quality is the best.

Having used just about every paper available from Epson for the Stylus1280 including the Velvet Fine Art,

I'd have to say this one is the best.

Just using the supplied profile (Premium Glossy Photo Paper - on the 1280) the results were very good.

Any other paper, results were okay but bettered with custom profiles.

This will now be my standard photo paper on the 1280 and future epson printers.

I do large format prints for friends , family, of my best stuff, and this paper is excellent. I like the fact that it isn't a high gloss paper; somewhere in between gloss and matte. I use an Epson printer so the prints are superb. I would expect as much on any decent printer.

Epson S041407 Premium Luster Photo Paper 13 X 19 (50-Sheet) This is a superb paper which presents excellent color density without loss of image detail, while avoiding the sometimes distracting reflections of glossy paper.

This paper in combination with an Omni Page monitor calibrator, PhotoShop, and an Epson R1800 produces the best (sharpest and most colorful) photographs I have ever seen. It is definately worth the price. I am rather rural, so I have to order ink and paper through Amazon, but I would have to order it in any case. Through Amazon, I always get both ink and paper in reasonable time.

Epson Ultra Premium Luster photo paper is beyond excellent... but please verify what size you are buying!! The "Model Number" and Manufacturers "Part Number" do not match. The photo in the listing shows a 50 sheet box of 13" x 19" inch paper... yet the manufactures part number is actually for a 50 sheet box of 11.7" by 16.5" paper. Just a word to the wise. I'm sure that the manufactures part number is just a typo... and sure that this really is the 13 x 19 paper.

I have done digital photography for many years now.

I have always had Epson printers, 1270 in the year 2000, R-2400 later, then 3880 in the past year, all of which have been just terrific!

Have tried many papers, but for sales, reliability, consistency and just the finest found, Epson Premium Luster Photo paper and Semigloss have always played the major role in my purchases.

They are just right- affordable, tried and true.

Optimum Nutrition - whey, whey protein

I like this product. Let me first start by saying that I do not think this is "the BEST" protein product ever. However, I've tried many protein products and this comes rather close.

In my honest opinion, "the BEST" protein product out there would have to be "Profect" by Protica Research. It's actually the stuff used by gastric bypass patients. It's 25 grams of high-absorb protein in only 2.7 fluid oz that literally tastes like fruit candy. But, it's way too expensive and a two-months supply can set you back a couple of hundred bucks easily. Because of this, it's better suited strictly toward its medical purposes.

This product is also not the "most cost-effective". There are plenty of other whey products out there that are much much cheaper and have just as much protein content, but they all pretty much taste like doo doo. What's the point in torturing yourself to save a few bucks? Cost is definitely an important factor, but not the most important.

Apart from all of the hype and apart from all of the hate, I would say that I really do like this product. It tasted a bit gross with just plain water, but when I added it to a cup of enriched soymilk, I couldn't tell the difference between it and a regular kid's chocolate milk shake. That is amazing. And this product did mix pretty well. I usually have problems with that when it comes to powdered shakes and it's always great when you can get a shake that doesn't just sit on the bottom of the cup and cement while everything else just floats to the top. I even added a serving of Benefiber fiber supplement, and it still didn't clump up.

One problem that I have with this product is that it does use artificial sweeteners, but I'll let that slide for now, since I don't intake too many products with them anyway. Still, it is a cause for concern for those you who want to avoid such things in your diet entirely.

Overall, 4 of of 5 stars. I'm pleased but not impressed. This product is definitely one of the superior brands out there but most definitely not a "gold standard". A lot could be done to improve it. Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Gold Standard, Vanilla Ice Cream, 5 Pound

What is it? A big jug of protein powder! In fact, you get over 5 lbs!

Okay, you know its protein, and the label says "Whey"- but what exactly is whey? Well, whey, or milk plasma, is the liquid remaining after milk has been curdled and strained. Most of us know that milk has protein in it, so the stuff in the big black jug here is essentially a milk protein.

So what's the big deal about whey protein? Well, supposedly whey has the ability to be digested quickly, which allows the protein to become available very quickly. Most people use it after workouts to help increase the levels of amino acids in the blood, which are taken up by the muscles to help repair and rebuild them.

As you can tell, people who are physically active are probably going to need this stuff the most. Physical activity normally breaks down the tissues of the body as you use it, and since protein is the building blocks of your tissues, well, lots of physical activity equals higher protein needs. How much more protein athletes need above and beyond sedentary people is a matter of controversy- as is the protein requirements of bodybuilders. However please keep in mind that high protein intake can be hard on your kidneys, because they're the organ that has to deal with this stuff the most, so if you have any kind of kidney issues (i.e. your creatinine is sky high), it'd be best to check with a doc before ingesting huge quantities of protein.

On to the specifics of this particular protein powder. To use it, you simply mix it with water, or any liquid for that matter- then throw it down the hatch. Does it taste good? Well, some people like it and some people don't- me telling you that I like it won't mean much in this case.

Anyway, when all is said and done, this is a decent source of protein for people who don't have time to eat huge chunks of meat, large quantities of eggs, or drink gallons of milk. At 24 grams of protein a serving, this product packs a whallop that can go a long way to help make healthy tissue stronger, or injured tissue healthy. Also recommend Smokin' Hot Guns!!: How an Average Guy Can Get Big, Muscular Arms In One Workout A Week if you're trying to bulk up your arms.

I'm an average-skinny build 22 year old. I was looking to gain some muscle mass and build more all around body definition. Purchased the Double Rich Chocolate flavor about 6 months ago. I started to commit myself and seriously work out about 45 mins. every Other day. within 3 weeks I noticed more definition in my arms and in a little over a month and a half my stomach was getting more toned. Now after about 6 months, I'm starting to form what looks like a six pack. I'm amazed at how well this stuff works for me. I mix two scoops with 16 oz. of skim milk every morning and on workout days I have 1 serving with milk before my workout, and one after. My first 5lb. Tub lasted me about 3-4 months.

How can I complain.

The pros:

Taste: better with milk than water. try to find whey that tastes better than this. There is not much else out there.

Results: They were quick for me. But this was the fist time I used whey protein and stuck to a solid workout schedule.

Quality: Mixes easy. Low calorie, Low carb, Low fat. 24 whopping grams of protein per serving(that's a lot!)

The Cons:

Price: All Whey protein is expensive right now but It is still well worth the money.

so...all that being said, If your a skinny boy/girl trying to build some lean muscle or If you just want to turn some excess fat into muscle, try this stuff out. Get a routine going and it should help out.

I've been powerlifting for over 14 years & have literally tried it all. (well... most that is) Remember when Designer Protein was "In"? Anyway, I purchased this protein along with a handful of others @ a GNC (Yes, GNC... Retail price w/ no Gold Card) without first checking out the reviews. Basically a blind study using myself as the test subject. Out of all the proteins I tested, only ONE stood out from the rest. Being that I wasn't influenced in any way by a salesman, reviews, etc... my observations were not the result of a placebo effect. With ON, I not only maintained my weight but gained weight as well w/ consistent workouts. It did an excellent job of curbing my appetite as well as this has been my breakfast, every morning for close to a year. I recently decided to check out the reviews both online & on Amazon & low & behold, a 5 star average all the way. I'm not the least bit surprised. This is by far the best protein I have ever used. - Protein - Whey - Whey Protein - Bodybuilding'

Economic Conditions - economic collapse, derivatives

For readers interested in how religion informs views of capitalism, this is an excellent example.

No matter what you think of Green's argument, it's a beautifully written and lucid book that ranges widely in history and literature. It's a book not just about financial policy but about living a meaningful, examined life.

As a writer, Green has an eye for the telling factual detail. To cite just one example, on globalization: "I have listened to the work of and Italian composer (Puccini) in a Chinese opera house (in Beijing) designed by a Frenchman (Paul Andreu)."

At its core, though, this is a book about what Green sees as the limits of capitalism and how he hopes to transform it.

Early on, Green quotes Milton Friedman's view that "There is one and only one social responsibility of business - to use its resources and engage in activities designed to increase its profits so long as it stays within the rules of the game, which is to say, engages in open and free competition without deception or fraud."

Green calls that view "dangerously simplistic," and says businesses now "must consider value from the perspective not just of investors, but of customers, employees, suppliers, communities and - increasingly - the environment, too."

Green's own feelings about free-market capitalism are mixed: "At its best, as we have seen, there is no more powerful engine for development and liberation than the market. At its worst, it is a dangerous moral pollutant that nourishes some very poisonous weeds in us."

At time, Green is downright hostile. He quotes Paul: "The love of money is the root of all evil." Money, he writes, has become "the modern Mephistopheles," the servant of Lucifer, the Devil.

What is the alternative? "After 2007-2009, the manifest failure of market fundamentalism and the need for a rebalancing of the world's economy will inevitably be the starting point of a new world order," Green writes. "The underlying question will be whether world leaders can construct a shared vision of a global economic order that preserves the dynamism of market forces while taming their excesses (in both risk-taking and reward)."

Green expresses hope that what he calls "ethical capitalism" will supplant what he calls "the ideology of market fundamentalism."

This "ethical capitalism" has an ideology of its own, which, while its truth may be self-evident to Green, is by no means universally shared.

"My interpretive prism is Christian," Green writes toward the end of the book, again quoting Paul: "There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male or female, for all of you are one in Christ Jesus."

"The ideal, and the hope, stand the test of time," writes Green. This may well grate on Jewish readers who don't look forward as ardently as Green apparently does to the elimination of their unique identity. They and others may, as I did, find this particular critic of "market fundamentalism" to display a certain fundamentalism of his own, and one that isn't without its own dangers. Good Value: Reflections on Money, Morality and an Uncertain World

Bankers are in the doghouse seen as the main culprits of the recession. It is therefore an important event that a highly successful prominent banker presents his convictions about moral standards. The book leaves you in no doubt that Stephen Green (SG) is a banker with good intentions, writes what he honestly believes, and wishes banks to contribute to the well-being of society at large and most importantly tells what should change and what cannot.

SG makes several "final" statements about the economic system that he believes to be true, which coming from a person with so much credibility should be accepted by all.

For example: "The Friedmanite (Milton Friedman) idea that the sole job of a business is to create profit for shareholders has proved insufficient to sustain value and-in the end- a bad deal for shareholders". Richard Lambert, the Director General of the CBI (Confederation of British Industry) still wrote in 2010 in the FT: "Business in some ways quite simple. It has clearly defined aims. The aim is to make money." And Lambert is far from the only one still holding this view.

Other example: "Government oversight, regulation and, in time of stress, intervention are essential". "Markets cannot be relied on to be stable and self-regulating". Good-bye to laissez faire and egocentric country sovereignty.

Other example: "Nor can the market be relied upon to be sufficient for a balanced social development (that is solve poverty problems)"

However, make no mistake SG consider the free market the prime force for the development of prosperity; he makes many suggestions how to channel it for the benefit of society at large.

SG refers to an important statement of Nigel Lawson, a brilliant former British chancellor: "That capitalism has shown, in practice, to be endemically (infected by disease) flawed should not come as a surprise". "That is the nature of mankind." What is the disease? One of the many diseases SG identifies is "that there are too many engineers working in bank dealing rooms" I suppose SG refers to the brilliant brains developing innovative structured products and logarithms. These engineers have only one motivation: to become stinkingly rich regardless of the consequences. If large businesses like Wal-Mart or GE go bankrupt it is a tragedy but if a boiler room is outstandingly successful, or if a large bank like Lehman fails, it can spread like a deadly fever through the entire body of the interconnected financial system. SG writes, "Exactly how the taming will be done remains to be seen." The book does not present all of the changes necessary but a good many.

Stephen Green presents his recommendations from a Christian perspective. In many dialogues with His Holiness the Dalai Lama I have identified Buddhist principles with the same purpose, published in the "Leader's Way". They are surprisingly similar.

SB. "The value of the human spirit with all its possibilities for goodness and creativity, is so intensely real, seen to the Christian prism, so also is the potential of evil and destructiveness."

B (Buddhism) "It is part of human nature to have Good (beneficial} tendencies and Negative (destructive) tendencies"." Given the strength of the destructive tendencies it is necessary to train and disciple the mind to reduce negative tendencies".

SB. Compartmentalization. "Disconnect between what is said in worship and what is done in life" B. "All actions should have good intentions. A good intention means that the action is of benefit to self and others, at least does not harm anybody. An intention that does not lead to action has no merit."

SB. "Money is potentially liberating. His money became his God. Money can never be a true servant." B. "The craving for more money, or more fame can never be satisfied."

SB on Calvin: "That if you have money you were a steward of God and must use what you have been entrusted with". B. "Wealth is good if it has been earned honestly and is used responsibly including sharing some of the benefits with others."

SB. "We forget about end values all the time". B. "It is necessary to develop mindfulness to be aware when negative emotions enter the mind. "

SB. "No man is an Island." B. "There has never been and will never be a person that is independent of others.

SB. "Ethical capitalism". Our book. The Responsible Free Market Economy. "Responsible" and "free" are the core words.

The book in addition to the points referred to here presents an excellent history of morals and money starting at the beginning of civilization. - Economic Collapse - Michael Lewis - Wall Street - Derivatives'

Garmin Nuvi 650 - garmin nuvi 650, garmin case

I don't understand all the glowing reviews for this case: based on the many four and five star ratings given by other owners, I figured it was a no-brainer and placed my order.

When it arrived, I was surprised to discover that the leather is coarse and thin and that there is no real padding for the Nuvi.

Basically, this is two pieces of hard plastic over which some low-grade leather has been stretched. The best thing I can say about it is that it fits the 650 snugly -- at least initially -- which is important, as one end of the case remains open (providing easy access to the headphone port and SD card slot, as well as a potential avenue for the carelessly handled Nuvi to slip out).

Do not look for a belt clip or carry strap option, either. This is simple protection of the most basic sort.

I do not expect this case to wear well; it just isn't constructed for regular daily use.

Given the price and quality of the Nuvi 600s, I expected better in a case.

BTW, shame on Garmin for not including even some flimsy basic protection like this in the box with the 650!

Unless it is important to you to get something with the Garmin name on it, I would advise shopping for a more durable and protective alternative to this case. Garmin 4.3-Inch Carrying Case

I bought this case from my Nuvi 760, I would buy it again.

Pros

+ reinfoced front and back makes for a sturdy case that protects the device from both scratches and impacts

+ very snug but easy to get in and out - hasn't ever slipped out

+ good size, it is about as small as it can be

+ soft interior to prevent scratches

+ small sleeve on the side

Cons

- It is snug enough to sometimes slide the power switch on the 760 as I take it in or out. I need to make sure it goes in with the switch down and locked so it doesn't come on when I put it in. Coming on on the way out isn't such a big deal since I usually want to use it.

Overall this is a great case, if you are careful you could call auto-power-on a feature!

First a comment on some previous reviews - This is not a high tech item, it's a protective case. Don't try to make more of it than that.

Now for my thoughts.

1) It fits my NUVI 750 like a glove.

2) The quality of construction is at least as good as any other case I've seen on the market. It also is aesthetically pleasing to the eye.

3) It slips into my shirt pocket with ease.

4) I realize that is not a form of structural armor for my device and that I still must exercise a certain amount of care to keep my NUVI from harm. It's not waterproof, fireproof, bombproof etc. It does keep my screen clean, prevents case scratches, protects it from the usual hazards of being knocked about in the console of my vehicle where it resides when not in use.

To summarize. It does what it is designed to do at a reasonable price.

Therefore it rates the 5 stars in my book.

Garmin nüvi 750 Auto Navigation System

i just picked up one of these for a nuvi 750 as the case is listed as compatible on the garmin site. stylish looking case however, the 700 series is thinner then 600 series. if you hold the case upside down, the nuvi will fall out. be caareful.

The Nuvi 250w did not come with a case so I ordered this one. It fits perfectly. The whole 200w series is the same size so any of them will fit.

It's a little expensive but it's a lot cheaper then replacing a cracked screen.

I ordered this case for my Garmin 200W. It works great, nice case - quality construction. I would not recommend this case for any 'rugged' applications. A hard shell case would probably be much better. But this case will suit the needs of most average consumers. It is durable and can be put in a bag or purse. My only complaint is I wish it had a closure tab or strap to give it extra security for the GPS to not slip out but I've not had any problems. Nice basic protective case.

This case came with my Nuvi 660. It is well worth having the case for storage in a glove box so that other items do not scratch the screen. There is a soft liner on the inside of the case. It's also a great way to protect your Nuvi if it is dropped. This is also great for the lady that wants to put it in her purse to use show off photos of your kids and grandkids to her friends. - Garmin Case - Leather Case - Garmin Nuvi 650 - Garmin Nuvi'

Hanging File Folders - manila, office supplies

A file folder is vital to the organization of any office or business. Make sure to also purchase a hanging file folder when purchasing file folders. This is because a hanging file folder is needed to hold the weight of these lighter manila file folders in a file cabinet.

These file folders make life easier because everything now can be organized in a neat folder. These folders can be used for invoices of clients, bills, and receipts. File folders are vital to keeping your records in order.

Peace and Happiness,

Patrick Leonardi Smead Manila Folder, Letter Size, 11 Point, 1/3-Cut Tab, 100 per Box (10330)

I consider myself chronically unorganized and very picky.

This is a terrible combination for getting stuff done.

However, this big box of folders make me very happy.

They are there: crisp, clean, a virgin surface for my labels.

They aren't floppy like my OfficeMax cheapies.

Nor do I feel like my folders are a billboard.

Will buy again.

I used it to get my personal bills, records in order. Easy to use and very well made quality stock and product. It is but also flexible, sturdy, strong folder. They did not skim on the quality and made it flimsy and so light.

No complaints about any Smead products from me. These file folders are great for keeping track of expenses, bills or just about any kind of written correspondence. I've used them for years and it was really great to get them at such an amazing price *and* I was able to take advantage of the FREE shipping with Amazon.

These folders get the job done efficiently. They hold up well, when the peper packets get heavy that they hold in them. It may seem awkward for someone to write a review on these manilla folders, but I'm doing it. Even though I didn't have too many packets of paper that actually extended beyond the initial folding, these folders can expand up to 3 more times, providing an extra inch of space, to actually be used by the user.

Put everything into organized file folders that are organized in three ways: Category (General, Specific, Detail); Action (In, Hold, and Action); and Tickler File (43 folders for 31 days and 12 months.)Use simple plain vanilla folders. Use the Brother Labels to label the folders in logical, natural orders. Do not go more than 3 levels for each category, or else you will get lost.

I label everything with OAPR (Outcome. Action. People. Resource) and DTCM (Deadline, Time, Context, and Monetary Value). You can learn more about what that means through my programs. - Office Supplies - Manila - Hanging File Folders - Office'

Baitcasting Rods - shimano, trout rod

This may be the cheapest rod you can ever find. Plus, it is distributed in sportsauthority stores, about 9.99 each. So you can try them in person if you have sportsauthority nearby. Many people doubt them just because of the too low price tag, which are cheaper than many children rods. In fact, they are really decent rods. Shimano's catolog even mentions that this series is good for light salt water fishing, which it does. I mainly fish in Long Island. and no rust is found in guides after one year use.

I have three FX rod, 7' 6.6' and 5'. Because of their prices, I am not forced to take much care of them. I just put them into trunk, and never worry about them. after 1 year use, there is no indication of damage. Believe me, they are sensitive, and light.

I highly recommend them. Their too low prices should not be the reason keeping you from them. Shimano FXS 2 Piece Ultra Light Spinning Rod (5-Feet 6-Inch)

i have another rods, but when i used for the first time i am really surprised , you can compare with another expensive rods with the same results, it is light and strong, this is really a good rod for fresh and salt water (use the medium heavy is really functional in both environments) .

I bought this rod to replace a light rod that I broke early in the season. I picked this one because its very cheap and a name brand. I'm quite happy with this rod. I've paired it with an Abu Garcia Cardinal 100 reel. It casts smoothly, feels great, and is very light. No problems casting over and over. It carres easily and so far hold up to my rough usage.

The only down side to this rod is that the part of the reel seat that screws in is the bottom part, so you hand rests on that. It's not the most comfortable place to put it, since you are resting your hands on the threads. But, again, it's a very light rod and the weight definately doesn't cause problems. I could see this as a good rod to start someone young with.

I bought this as a second pole, as I broke it by simply pulling drag out with maybe 7lbs of drag set on the reel it snapped in half. Maybe ok for a cheap second pole in the bottom of the boat, but don't count on it. Time will tell when I try out the warranted pole number 2 to see if it indeed is a piece of #2. - Shimano - Trout Rod - Ugly Stick'
