Compact Flash - photo frame, digital photo frame

I needed an extra large digital photo frame that did video as well for a traveling display, and the NIX was certainly the right price, and had the right "functional" look for where I need it (no wood frame, and no artificial picture matting). Overall it is best frame I have yet used (I own two smaller and have done a lot of shopping). Brightness and color are excellent. Processing power seems up to any jpeg you might throw at it. Controls and navigation are the best I have seen yet.

The only drawback is that it DOES NOT play HD video, and, despite what the website and instructions say, I have not been able to get it to play any .mp4 file, or MPEG-4 coded file, at all...or for that matter, .avi which they also claim it will play. On the other hand, my 720p HD video plays fine when transcoded to 720x576 Letterbox style, MPEG-2, with MPEG-1, Layer 2 audio. (I use a free converter called "Free Video Converter by Extensoft"...quick and easy.) Once transcoded, the video looks very good! You would not guess it is no longer HD.

This really does, for me, take the place of a laptop and monitor for my travel. Excellent, and a great value. NIX 15 Inch Hi-Resolution Digital Picture Frame, 1GB Internal Memory, Photo, Video, Music, Split Screen Option - Plug & Play X15A

i personally own a 12" frame and love the big size. So when it came to getting a friend a house warming gift it seemed logical to go with the BIG SCREEN!

this frame is fairly straight forward and the pro's and con's are:

PRO's:

-big screen, with nice clear image

-easy menu system and operation

-plays video and music

-easy remote control

-big internal memory

-strong, solid build

Con's:

-not as stylish as the 12" nix

-if you're after a frame that can do complex stuff like internet connection or play HD video this is not for you

-could do with bigger speakers

if you want to play photos and video and do it simply, this is the frame for you. if you want to do photo editing etc, maybe not. overall i would definitely recommend it.

The last digital frame I had did not provide a random shuffle when displaying the pictures. It also forced me to organize photos into folders no greater than 999 photos per folder. I really was not enjoying the 2500 photos that I wanted to display. I ordered NIX X15A and immediately liked the product. It showed up in simple packaging, was easy to set up and now I am enjoying all of my photos.

I was very pleased with the picture produced by this product. It so beats out my 7" frame from another vendor.

I ran across two problems, one of which caused me to return the product.

The first problem, which may not be a problem for others, is that it was tricky to navigate the menus and select the pictures or desired viewing functions. There are buttons on the picture frame, but they are on the back, so unless you use braille stickers, you won't know which one you are pressing. The buttons are virtually useless. But it has a remote control, so no need to press the buttons. However, navigation even with a remote control is trickier than it should be. I like the touch screen models from Pandigital. A touch screen interface is SO much easier than buttons on the side or back of the frame or a remote control.

Still, I was pleased enough with the picture that I could get over having to monkey with the navigation system. I'm confident that I would figure it out eventually. What caused me to return the products is that it is VERY easy to destroy the internal memory. There is a warning in the manual that tells you NOT to unplug it from your computer while the connection is busy doing something. I didn't do that. I was copying pictures from my SD card when there was a brief power brownout. That did it. The internal memory was blown and didn't even show up as a menu option anymore. It's too easy to permanently lose the internal memory.

Gotta love the big screen! I've bought digital frames for other people, but generally held off for getting one myself as I only wanted a big screen frame, and generally big screen frames are just too expensive or they're big & affordable, but bad quality. I bought a nix for a friend once and know the quality to be good, but i really wanted something BIG! The frame is big, stylish and importantly sturdy.

It's really easy to use. it's large internal memory is useful and easy to use as well. just connect it to your computer and the computer treats the frame just like a usb thumb drive. So it's easy to transfer photos and videos. The transfer speed could be a little faster for my liking, but i only upload new photos once a week, so no biggie.

generally i like what they've done with this. I know that nix do a fancy range of frames, but with this model it's big, stylish and simple to use, and for once affordable.

Dad likes it big! My dad's got pretty bad eyes, so a big frame that's easy to use was a must. I prefer the styling of the nix over the viewsonic. I can't speak for the use-ability of the viewsonic, but the nix is plug and play, but also has enough features to make it do what you need it to. affordable style - highly recommend it!

Bought myself a Nix 15 inch digital picture frame for Christmas because I have so many pictures setting around in the hard drive of my computer not being viewed. I love my new digital picture frame and I am very impressed with the build quality. While I have not yet downloaded pictures to the internal memory of the Nix I have been able to display all the pictures I have wanted to. I have done this by either just plugging in my SD cards where I keep photographs, or transfering photographs from my desktop to a USB thumbdrive and just plugging it into the back of the Nix. I have found the remote and the control setup to be a little clunky and less then intuitive, but I managed to figure most things out. For example I set mine up for 15 seconds and have tried all three screen layouts, but like the full scree display. I even got the calendar and the time set up after spending a little time with the manual. I have been a little reluctant to load pictures directly to the internal drive because of the problems other reviewers have outlined about power outages. I will do it when I map out what I want to put on it however. I even plugged the mini SD card from my Cell Phone into an SD adaptor and played it on the NIX with no problems. Spending the time to research digital picture frames online and finally choosing the 15 inch Nix was well worth it. The size and picture quality make this picture frame worth it.

Also I was impressed with the quality of the stand and how it is attached. I chose to hang my Nix on the wall for display and that works very well too. - Digital Photo Frame - Photo Frame - Digital Picture Frame - 15 Inch'

Charger Battery Maintainer - battery tender, trickle charger

After having the battery on my "summer only" convertible go

flat last winter I decided to invest in a battery maintainer.

The Schumacher SEM-1652A was the best compromise of price (around

$40 with shipping), features (a normal charging rate, and a

lower maintaining rate, with overcharge protection and indicator

lights), and small size (fits easily under the hood by the

master cylinder, battery wiring adaptor with quick connect makes installation and removal a snap.

I'd add a few extra crimp-on terminals of various ring sizes to the kit,

so different power connections with the wiring adaptor could be made

(my car has the battery mounted in the front fender well, I had to get

larger ring terminals to go on the remote jump starting terminals

under the hood.

Update: I bought a wattmeter to measure the power use of a fridge ( seemed to be running more than

normal, we replaced it with an energy star rated model ) so I hooked up the Schumacher maintainer

to the meter to see what it drew when it was trickle charging / maintaining. Charging was .25 amps or about

30 watts per hour, and maintaining was .11 amps or about 13 watts per hour. Pretty low energy use in my book. Schumacher SEM-1562A 1.5 Amp Speed Charge Maintainer

Bought this charger to charge/maintain my deep cycle battery used for emergency power outages. The manual included with this charger even describes it charging deep cycle batteries and gives a charging estimate of ~36hrs. Fine for what I'm looking for. The charger repeatedly aborted the charge on my brand-new battery. Their customer service tech said it wasn't meant to charge deep cycle batteries due to the higher internal resistance. This should have been made more clear in the packaging, labelling and product description. I've lost time and money. Now I have to go buy a 'real' charger...

Update - The charger was actually DOA. I returned it and replaced the charger with a new one on an auto-shop recommendation. It is working fine. Schumacher didn't want to own up to a bum charger when I called them earlier.

This is a great charger but the same company (schumacher's battery maintainer), makes an identical product for sears, branded as diehard.

It costs the same as on amazon but comes with a 3 year warranty, not the standard 1 yr. warranty found here. Plus you don't have to deal with shipping hassles when you can just go to your local sears and pick one up or exchange if you have problems.

Very good item for charging and maintaining batteries. Have used on my motorcycle and car batteries, as well as my lawn mower battery. Works well and actually tells you when the battery is fully charged, which is one of the best features of this charger

Schumacher battery companion (charger-maintainer) 1.5 amp 1562a

Best customer service anywhere! I purchased a Schumacher battery companion in 2007. In July 2008, I noticed the amber light was on and the water was boiling in my motorcycle battery. The battery was approximately one year old and I was not sure whether the battery was unable to fully charge or the float mode on the charger was not cycling. I fond the Schumacher customer service toll-free number on their home page, called them, spoke with Jonathon, explained the situation, asked his opinion and he stated that it would be best not to take a chance. Although he had never seen a problem like this in their product, he requested that I return the unit to Schumacher, attention Jonathon, and he would replace it with a new one. I explained that I had not previously mailed the registration or warranty, had misplaced the pigtails and instruction sheet, etc., he said not to be concerned about that. I shipped it to them and believe it or not, they sent me a brand new one, complete with all accessories! I still do not know whether their unit was malfunctioning or my motorcycle battery was developing a short (I replaced that, as well). I have never experienced such great customer service. As far as I'm concerned, their product is top of the line and their customer service is excelled by none! P.S. Also works with AGM batteries.

I have purchased this charger along with several others and this is a perfect replacement for my daughters original power wheels battery charger. I use it for all batteries in my daughters 5 power wheels and love the fact that it stops when complete and will charge both the 12V and 6V.

I made a video about the process and more details at http://www.modifiedpowerwheels.com and cant write enough about this charger and the entire line of schumacher chargers!

You've got to love a product that does everything that you want it to do at a fair price. I'm using the Schumacher SEM-1562A to keep a trickle charge on my boat battery. Formerly I had to remove the battery each winter and install it in the spring. To do so meant dismantling part of the boat. This unit solves the problem. - Trickle Charger - Battery Maintainer - Automotive - Battery Tender'

Glow Sticks - glowsticks, bracelets

I bought these mainly for use when camping and while having a camp fire so we could find people. There were 2 colors of bi-colored bracelets, and 10 of so solid colors. Came with a little bag of connectors.

The glasses connections were very easy to use I thought. They were hysterical to put on both adults and kids - everyone laughed like crazy.

The three color bracelet connections were a little tough to use at first - you really have to bend the bracelet glow sticks to get them to work. Once that was done, they stayed in place just fine.

Haven't tried the glow ball yet as it takes 12 bracelets and my kids didn't want to waste the glow sticks on it.

Overall, great price for the quantity.

The colors were true and bright and lasted nearly 10 hours without refrigeration. 100 8" Premium Glow Stick Bracelets (10 Color Mixed Assortment)

This product worked only so-so for us. We bought it primarily to enjoy the glow sticks at my son's birthday party. We used 25 of them, and of that, one was a dud. The kids enjoyed the glow sticks and they were still shining at bedtime. All in all they probably lasted about 20 hours. So I'd say they were a success.

We were disappointed, however, in the special parts. What I was looking forward to most was the glow stick glasses shown in the picture. Our two-year-old is the only little kid we know with glasses, and I thought he'd enjoy seeing us all take turns goofing around with glow stick glasses on. But the parts to make glasses didn't work -- the glow sticks wouldn't stay in place. Bummer. The parts to make necklaces and balls worked fine.

This is a good price for 100 glow sticks. We're planning on using 25 per party, so that's $3 a party for some kiddie fun -- not bad. But don't get excited about the special parts.

Everyone loved these. we went camping and took them back to the tents at night for a little light. They stayed glowing all night. Not one was a dud or faded in a few hours. Infact they were still glowing faintly the next night when we took the new supply back to the tent. It was very cold so I don't know if that had anything to do with them holding there color so long. I will buy again.

The kids were flocking to our house when they found out we were giving glow bracelets instead of candy! It was easy to order off Amazon with the free shipping and the kids loved it. It certainly wasn't much more expensive than a candy purchase.

Great product. Compared to other stores I checked, like Target and Walmart, this is a great price!

Also, It comes packaged in a way that they all arrive intact. And most of all, the kids loved them :)

I purchased 300 of these bracelets for my son's 16th birthday "clubbin" type of party. No joke, the party didn't start until these walked in. The girls loved them, but the guys ended up jump roping and making huge necklaces out of them(didn't see that coming). Anyway, I would most definitely purchase these again. I had a few that leaked, but a few out of 300-- I'll take those odds anyday. Thanks for a great product.

I love glow sticks. Who doesn't? But they are expensive to buy. When i found this deal, I couldn't resist. And when I got them, I was not disappointed. There were only a few that didn't work. The multi-colored ones were really neat. All in all, these glow sticks provided great fun for hours and I would definitely purchase them again.

These are exactly as you'd expect a glowstick to be. This product comes with extra nice connectors that stay on way better than most other connectors I've seen. The glowstick ball is also rad and fin to play with. I recommend these glowsticks and I will buy them again.

This is great fun for the value.

I needed the connectors for some other glow sticks I had

and could not find them locally. I was able to get the entire

set of sticks plus connectors for a really reasonable price and

we will have fun for a long time with these. - Bracelets - Glowsticks - Glow Bracelets - Decorations'

Laptop Batteries - dell, laptop battery

I have a Dell Inspiron 1520. My old battery only held about 30 minutes of charge so I decided it was time to get a new one. I was wary about purchasing the battery from pyrus electronics since it was so cheap. Nonetheless, the battery arrived on time and it works perfectly fine. When the battery is fully charged, I get about five to seven hours of power (depending on screen brightness, active programs, etc.).

Also, my battery fit perfectly into the slot. There was no force necessary as stated in a previous review. (9-cell) Laptop Battery for Dell Inspiron 1520 1521 1720 1721 Vostro 1500 1700 Series Pn 312-0504 312-0513 312-0518 312-0520

I bought this product admittedly without reading carefully enough through the product description: I took myself to be buying an original Dell battery. When it arrived, it did not fit quite perfectly into my computer; it took an unhappy amount of force to get it situated. My computer (an Inspiron 1520) did indeed recognize the battery without any problem. However, it does not seem to power the computer for as long as my original Dell battery did, which would last for almost 6 hours when it was new. Perhaps this is because I have not yet "trained" the battery. But after the first charge and deplete and recharge, my battery meter now tells me that the freshly charged battery is good for about 4 and a half hours. That's not quite as good as I was hoping.

I bought this battery for my Dell Vostro 1500. Everything seemed to work fine the first 45 days or so. Then for no apparent reason this battery died. Just like that.

This battery comes with a one year warranty. So I contacted Amazon customer service. Of course, I am out of their 30 day period to send it back. They asked me to contact the manufacturer (NG). Amazon doesn't even know what NG is, and what the contact info is. They asked me to contact the seller (Westronics).

I called Westronics. Left them a voicemail. Haven't heard back from them yet. If there is any progress I'll update this review. But for now, this battery is a piece of junk and customer service is the worst.

Despite their claims, this battery does NOT fit correctly in an Inspiron 1720. It is just loose enough to lose contact when I transport my laptop in its case. When I try to awake the computer from hibernation, it ALWAYS reboots completely, telling me Windows did not shut down properly. I lose all my open windows, work-in-progress,etc -- all the advantages of hibernation. Not sure about other models, but AVOID this battery for an Inspiron 1720.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY AND TIME!!!! This battery charged 100% when first received and within 3 weeks was down to 33%! Now another week and it is at 30%, at this rate will be gone in the next month. $35.00 for two months is too expensive. It will not hold a charge and the company will not reply to emails. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!

I have a 3 year old Inspiron 1520 and my battery life has been hovering around 1.5 hours. I wanted to get a replacement battery since my battery health was around 47%. This battery worked for 3 days and, when it reached 40% charge, it would plummet to 1%. This battery held even less charge than my old one. I have sent it back for a refund and I would not recommend getting this.

Also, it is worth mentioning that this battery does NOT has the same charge compared to Dell's OEM 9 Cell battery. This battery is 7200mAh, Dell's battery is 8500 mAh.

My old stock battery only held a charge for 20 minutes' worth of use, so I definitely needed a new one. When I saw this one, it was an easy choice. Being a 9-cell, it's important to remember that it will stick out a bit (roughly an inch) from the back of your laptop; I do not see this as a con.

My laptop (Vostro 1500) accepted it without the slightest difficulty, and sliding it into the battery slot was effortless. Even after the recommended breaking in process (which was presented in badly translated English), it does not last as long as I had hoped. I can get two to three (somewhere in the middle) hours of moderate use from a full charge, which is still a marked improvement. The computer's power gauge estimate of how long the battery lasts is not accurate, sadly. It believes the charge lasts longer than it really does, and the battery dies around the 10% mark (though when I plug it in and turn it back on, it properly reports the approximately 0% reading). There may be a way to fix this, but I don't know it.

All things considered, this is probably not the highest quality battery you can find, but it's more than worth it for the price.

Good battery. Fit perfectly. Not quite as good performance as my original dell 9-cell (now 4.5 hrs instead of original 5+), but at 1/5th of the price I am completely satisfied with this product. Please note that this is the 9-CELL battery and will stick out the back. Some people seem upset that this battery sticks out the back and their old one did not. The 6-cell does not stick out like the 9-cell. Please do not rate this product low because the battery sticks out. This is due to the design by DELL and not because of this specific battery.

I would definitely recommend this product. - Laptop Battery - Laptop Batteries - Battery - Dell'

Vga Gender Changer

Very happy. Product works great. I went to 3 different local stores looking for something similar (Radio Shack, Best Buy, and Target). Nobody had it. I ordered from RiteAV and it showed up 3 days later to my front door. I should have shopped Amazon.com first. RiteAV - VGA Coupler / Gender Changer (F/F) 15 pin

Look carefully at the picture for this item. BOTH sides have the large metal bumps (or screw holes). I purchased this adapter to connect a normal male cord to a splitter that had a male plug as well. The splitter device also has the large metal screw holes. Since both ends had these parts in the way the male parts were not able to insert into the female adapter -- was like a built in chastity belt for my VGA cord. Check your cord or connection items carefully for this conflict.

This is your standard VGA gender changer. Nothing more, nothing less.

Not to say this *isn't* good, because its *GREAT*!

Does exactly what I bought it for, Xbox 360 VGA cable to CRT computer monitor.

Simple and reliable. Oh, lets not forget dirt cheap! Ships very quick.

Quality product. Buy 3! [or however many you need, worth the investment]

I was upgrading my KVM and realized the monitor portion of the new KVM was male...the former was female...so I needed ~16 F2F converters. While I had to detach one side of the knurled knobs to screw them into the KVM...everything went well. Shipping was faster than the Amazon computed shipping. I'm a happy camper!

i am very pleased with this item. i had to split my video signal and bring it to another room. once i was almost done i realized that the 2 ends were male. this solved my problem and does not effect video quality.

This works. It is dirt cheap, it is high quality feeling. It shipped here very fast (4 days before expected!) Please ignore the negative review, its his own fault for not looking at the picture long enough before buying. This same coupler is retailed at radioshack for about 6 bucks. BUY BARGAIN CABLE!'

Storage Cases - case logic, disk storage

Let's start with the outside of the wallet. The design is elegant, and minimalistic, with a slight curve down the left front side, also serving as a handgrip, and a line through the middle, along with the Case Logic logo. The zipper has a rubber tab attached to it, and it zips open and closed without any hassles. The entire wallet has a very durable feel to it.

Inside, each page lets you store two CDs, or a single CD, plus notes/game manuals. Pages flip easily, and discs seem easily to slide in and out as well, at least compared to the Velocity CD wallets which were recently on sale here at Amazon with rebates.

Zipping the wallet up, turning it upside down, and banging on it, one finds that the discs stay in place, and don't slide towards the top, again, unlike the Velocity CD wallets where discs often slides towards the top just while turning pages.

All in all, this is a very well thought-out CD wallet, with a nice design, and seemingly durable construction. After I got mine, I bought two more. This product is also made in China. Caselogic CDE-48 48 Capacity Heavy Duty CD Wallet (Black)

I like accessories that are functional and really work as they were intended and designed. Such is the case with this product. It holds CDs securely and safely. There is also room for accompanying booklets, manuals and the like. This CD Wallet is well thought out, functional and very durable.

I bought this product based on the excellent reviews it had gotten here on Amazon, but I admit that I am sorely disappointed. I bought this knowing that there was no handle as depicted on the case, so I will not count this against the product in the review.

My main complaint is with the CD sleeves. Both the cloth and the plastic parts do not meet expectations. The cloth is extremely thin and light, and feels like I could poke my finger through it if I tried. It is almost translucent when held up to a light. Secondly, the clear plastic part of the sleeves feel low quality, like they would tear or stretch after extended use.

If this is being used for its intended purpose of carrying CDs on the go, the hard shell exterior provides adequate protection. However, since the sleeves are of such low quality, my CDs fall out if the case gets shaken a bit. And, just to reiterate, there is no handle as shown in the product image.

Pros:

-Cheap

-Hard shell

-Zipper

Cons:

-Flimsy CD sleeves

-CDs tend to come out of sleeves

-No handle

I instead recommend

Bankers Box 64-CD Capacity Wallet with Built-In Cleaning Cloth, Faux Leather, Black 85129 / FEL85129, which I also own, as it is much higher quality and is still suitable for on the go CD carrying.

This fits in the small slot behind the stick shift. I had about 8 cd's there before with plastic cases that were always falling to the floor or the cases kept opeining up. This is perfect!! I love it. I slip the paper with the CD contents behind the CD. So compact and your Cd's are protected.

Product is very durable, holds alot and has been able to with stand a toddler! We bought two and will buy more in the future as we need them. Both of mine didn't come with any handles.... I wish it did. Otherwise it looks just like the picture.

This case is a good buy.

The firm/hard outer case feels sturdy and I feelmy discs are well protected.

My only complaint is that the sleeves for the discs feel flimsy and a look a bit cheap, so I hope they hold up to the constant usage of the discs.

It would also be nice to have a handle (just a suggestion)

But other than that I am satisfied.

I have a couple nylon softer-sided cases. Because the sides are stiffer and bubbled out a little bit on this one, I think this one will provide a little more protection when banging around behind the seat of the car. The item I received doesn't have a handle like the one in the picture; I'm fine with that, but it's worth noting.

I've been a fan of Case Logic wallets for years; I'm generally a very active person who hauls his disks around for trips both short and long. I've owned some Caselogic wallets for 8+ years without ever having to replace it.

Such is the situation for this Case Logic wallet. I've carried it around with me in Iraq for six months now, and it generally lives to its standards. Solid and crush-resistant, very durable, the only problem I've had with it is its tendency for one or two of the plastic disc holders have ripped. But such is the case with such heavy wear/tear. If you're like me, storing both album art and CD in the same sleeve, it's what you need. It also has a side pocket on the inside front cover for me to store back inserts and/or miscellaneous excess DVD/CD material that comes with the packaging.

Buy this if you're mobile; buy it if friends tend to step on your case; buy this if through no fault of your own your cases are constantly abused. It'll survive a war and then some.

Pros:

+ Durable

+ Damage Resistant

+ Inside Pocket

+ Tear Resistant Binder Pages

Cons:

- Slightly fragile Plastic Disc Holders - Computer Accessories - Cd Case - Disk Storage - Case Logic'

Beauty And Grooming - hair straightener, remington

I have very dry, thick, curly hair and a lot of volume too. Every few months I have to relax my curl in order to keep it under control. I also live in the tropics where heat and a lot of humidity don't exactly help my hair remain frizz free. I was very skeptical when I first bought this product because I had tried many hair straighteners and all had given me poor results. Thank goodness that I was finally proven wrong! This product definitely does what it says it will do and is very affordable in comparison to other products on the market. I flatten my hair after I blow dry it and I have finally been able to tame my wild hair into soft, smooth, silky, straight hair. I have been getting plently of compliments but most importantly, I feel happy with my hair! I have recommended this product to friends and family and they have also acheived wonderful results. I recommend that you buy a deep conditioning treatment (Redken Heavy Cream) and leave it in your for 15 minutes with a self warming cap, rinse out and apply a heat protectant on your hair (Redken Heat Glide) before the process. Your hair will be fabulous!Remington Wet 2 Straight 2" Wide Plate Wet/Dry Ceramic Hair Straightening Iron with Tourmaline

I know this review may not be very helpful to most of you but I am just going to name some problems with this straigtening iron to warn you.I have wavy hair too so some of these problems may not affect you.

-It doesn't straighten wet hair.(It actually does, but my hair is still partially wet and it becomes wavy after it dries)

-It is only COATED in ceramic, after a while of use, it eventually chips off, leaving your hair exposed to even more damage than it has already done.(I'd suggest getting a ceramic plated straightener)

-The straight hair doesn't last. After a day at school, it starts getting wavy, especially if it is humid outside.

-It does damage to your hair. Its not as bad as those $10.00 ones but you still end up with a bunch of split ends and frizzy, damaged hair

There are also good things to it too, and it seems awesome when you first get it but eventually after a short while it wears down. I'd suggest getting a little bit more expensive hair straightener that will live up to the price.

I read the reviews and was quite skeptical since I've tried almost everything to straighten my coarse, thick, curly hair. I get my hair chemically relaxed about every 9 months. But the results keep my hair still curly, just not as bad. I've used ionic hair dryers, flat irons, curling irons, etc. It usually is an hour and a half process and me sweating half of my body weight in the bathroom! But this product eliminated the hair dryer...no sweating! It straightened quite nice! I used a comb in conjunction. That's the only thing I wish it had built in. My hair section was completely dry in the one passage. The entire process only took me about a half hour! Just make sure you condition well and use a good hairspray to ensure lasting results. I used my curling iron to secure and smoothe my ends. I'm impresssed.

I have long, moderately thick, wavy hair with a total mind of its own -- lots of product and/or putting it up seemed to be the only solution to gaining a neat, all-day style. (I'm not ready or willing to take the step of chemically straightening.) I had completely despaired of ever being able to successfully straighten my hair myself, no matter how much I quiz my stylist -- I've tried all kinds of gadgets and products that promise how easy it will be, and invariably end up with a big frizzy bush on my head that I have to pin up anyway.

Well, I bought the wet2straight last weekend, and all I can say is THIS THING WORKS. It IS easy, and it works QUICKLY too. I haven't tried it yet on freshly towel-dried hair, but may do so on a weekend when I have more time. I typically let my hair air dry for about 45 minutes to an hour, while I go about the rest of getting ready for my day, and I use a straightening product (Fructis smoothing milk). In about 15-20 minutes I have glossy, dry, STRAIGHT hair. It is AMAZING and I am so happy!

Note: there are two sizes, wide and slim. The packaging made no distinction about the difference, but a helpful sales clerk said that the wide plates work better on long hair, and the slim plates are better for short hair.

I can't believe all of the bad reviews! This straightener is awesome! I have really thin and sensitive, wavy hair, and all of the other straighteners I've used just made my hair REALLY frizzy, or even burn it! The worst part was, they didn't even straighten my hair one bit!!! This straightener is the only one that worked really well so far. I've been using it every day for a while now. My hair stays straight ALL day. It even added more shine, smoothness, softness, and even VOLUME to my hair! no other straightener has ever done that. I'm sure that there's better straighteners out there but this one works great and is at an affordable price. I would DEFINITLY recommend this straightener for ALL hair types. Personally, I prefer to use it when my hair's wet. I've learned thatit stays straight longer that way. As long as you straighten your hair in very thin layers from underneath, and work your way to the outside, it works great!! At the beginning, it took me about an hour to straighten my hair. After some practice, I got down to only 40 minutes. Now, it only takes me 20-30 minutes to straighten my hair. And I mean REALLY STRAIGHTEN it. I hope you found my review helpful! - Remington - Hair Care - Flat Iron - Hair Straightener'

Gps Case - leather case, case

Good decent case found for my 4.3" nüvi 765t

My Requirements:

1. I needed a case that was tight enough to fit only the GPS so the whole thing would fit in my purse or in the glove box.

- I found most were either too big (as the case with the Case Logic GPSP-2 or the slicker looking GPSP-4) or huge like the ones that could carry multiple GPSs and all their accessories. I only want to cover and protect the GPS not everything and the kitchen sink!

2. Looked well.

- Frankly the other huge cases were ugly and the standard 4.3" Garmin case 010-10823-01 was cheap looking and by design the GPS could slide right out of it to the floor. Navigon makes some nice cases but I this is not a Navigon GPS and I know it works but still if I can find something Garmin or generic all the better. They have a nice designed 010-10987-00 that it book style, but I did not like this particular style. This one has a nice black pleather look with gray felt interior, nice stitched design, and silver button that the rubber cord hooks to.

3. Protects well.

- Many cases like the Incase CL58006 looked nice and fit well but is completely neoprene and has no tough sides to prevent something from jabbing your GPS (not to mention neoprene is hard to keep clean from lint, etc). Other cases like hard drive cases that matched the size of the GPS also seemed too hard or too soft to store the unit without damage. This guy is stiff and lined with a nice gray felt-like material, I feel the item won't shatter on impact.

Cons:

- The case like I said fits well and protects decently as there is some clearance from the edge of the case to the GPS, but of course being as tight as it is, it's just enough on my 4.3"

- I am concerned about the stretchy rubber cord lasting a very long time, it's tough but nothing beats a button.

- When pulling out the GPS the only way you can hold on to the unit turns the unit on.

Final words:

The case I considered innovative in a way. The case is either a 3.5" or 4.3", I never could figure out how they could see that. All the pictures I saw were of the what looked like two different products. It's actually a case that covers the unit and if you have a 4.3" the flap does not fit as far down and there is a stretchy rubber cord that extends down to the silver Garmin button. Innovative because it's useful and it expands as you grow from a 3.5" to a 4.3". Garmin 3.5-Inch/4.3-Inch Universal Carrying Case

Fits my Garmin 1390T perfectly. Very compact, hard enough to protect GPS screen from external damage. Don't have a smaller screen GPS to try, but the case is designed to fit a normal and wide screen GPS.

This case is well constructed, looks good and fits my NUVI 1350T just fine. It is designed to fit both narrow screen and wide screen NUVI's by useing a flap which folds over the NUVI. The flap has an elastic band which hooks over a metal button to lock the flap down. You have to stretch the band a little longer when you have a wide screen NUVI. The band seems fairly strong and durable but I suspect over time that it will wear out. Since I use my GPS infrequently, I'm not concerned about it but if you expect to be putting your GPS in and out of the case a couple tims a day, it is something to consider.

This case does not fit very well for the 4.3 screen. It stretches the elastic and looks like it would break very easily. It also doesn't protect the larger screen. I think it would be perfect for the smaller GSP

I ordered this product for a Garmin 1350. But it is

about half the length of the device itself. It is well

constructed, though without a belt loop or shoulder

strap. The case should be coordinated with the product

it is advertised as holding. I want to add, though, that

Amazon handled the return in a completely simple

and efficient manner.

I have the Garmin 1690 with the 4.3" screen. While it does fit you have to really stretch the elastic loop. It will wear out sooner than later.

It is a nice case so I'm going to give it to my daughter and get something else for my 1690.

I would not recommend it for larger screen GPS units.

I bought this for my Nuvi 205 - which I keep mostly in the glove box- I just wanted a case to protect it from banging around in there. The case is nice quality, you can close it securely and best of all it fits the nuvi 205 perfect. I purchased this at BestBuy for 19.99 - Garmin Case - Nuvi Case - Leather Case - Case'

Health And Fitness - fitness, mens health

As a former trainer, I know more than a little bit about exercise and have read a ton of fitness books. This is, hands down, the best one out available right now. I've noticed that in the past few years, exercise has become unduly complicated... there are countless DVDs, gyms, programs, books, and late-night infomercials and each company claims their system is the ONLY one that will get you into shape. It's enough to make your head spin.

Despite the ads for machines, or drinks or pills that say how easy it is to get in shape, there's no magic wand. The obesity rate in this country is through the roof, because we're the nation of the quick fix. I should know - I was once almost 100 lbs over my ideal weight, despite a long relationship with numerous diet pills and mail-order fitness equipment doohickeys that gathered dust in the back room. Quick fixes do NOT work, or we'd all be on the cover of Glamour by now. If you want the gorgeous body, *you have to be willing to do the work*. End of story. Repeat that until it's seared on your brain, and then tune out the noise and excuses and focus on doing something for you. Being strong and fit feels amazing - do not deprive yourself of that, and all the wonderful things that go with it.

I'm a big fan of facing facts, because if you don't, you assume it's over before it starts, accept mediocrity and miss out on the joy of achievement. Are some people genuinely "big boned"? Sure. Does that mean they're doomed to be heavy? NO. Whenever I start to feel "fluffy", or "bloated", and scowl at the mirror (which is obviously warped), I can't help but think of Al Bundy, the character on "Married with Children" who said to his wife when she asked if her dress made her look big, "Peg, it's not the dress that makes you look fat; it's the *fat* that makes you look fat." I gained 95 lbs in a few short years. Grad school, a family, an exhausting, stressful job I didn't like, elderly parents to take care of - you name it. In short, my life was like everyone else's - crazy and unpredictable (welcome to being human). To cope with the stress, I ate. And I'm fine with that. That was okay for then - hey, I was doing what I had to do to get through it all - but I don't want that to become my whole life. Being overweight is very, very painful in the long term, on so many levels. Eventually, I just got tired of it. My comfort foods (powdered donuts! pie! pizza!) had made me extremely uncomfortable. The question then became "what the heck do I do now?"

You may have to do your own mental housecleaning and life rearranging before you can even think about getting serious about your body and your health, and that's okay. Just remember that when you're in shape, literally everything about your life suddenly gets a lot easier. You have more energy, more confidence, and the truth is, fairly or not, people respond to you very differently. It spills over into literally every area of your life, in a very good way.

So when you're ready, really ready, to be the person you hope in the back of your mind that you were supposed to be, this book is the roadmap that will tell you exactly how to get from where you are to where you want to go. It cuts right through all the fitness craze insanity, and explains you what works and why. This is literally everything you need to know about working out in a gym, presented in a clear, easy-to-read format. If it's not in here, it doesn't matter. There are detailed photos, medical explanations phrased in layman's terms, and, very helpfully, 20+ specific workouts. Copy them into your notebook, put in your headphones and get going. You can do this. (p.s. No, I'm not Tom Holland's mom, his wife, or in any way connected to him. I had no clue who he was before I read this book, but it's made a huge difference for me already and it will for you too.) Beat the Gym: Personal Trainer Secrets--Without the Personal Trainer Price Tag

I got the book on a Wednesday and read it all by Saturday (unheard by me, not a big reader). I am so excited after reading the book, and I am excited to incorpoate some of the workouts from the book. You don't have to be a gym member or own a lot of equipment. I've wanted a book like this FOREVER that tells it like it is and without all of the mumbo jumbo things as in fitness type magazines. Those type of magazine REALLY seem to want to push supplements non-stop and Tom' book is straight to the point and brutully honest too. I just want to be fit and some muscular build and this is what he teaches the reader. Thanks for all that you are doing and I am a Team Holland supporter forever. Who knows I'm not much of a runner but I know that he just might get me to becoming a runner as well.

I have lifted weights for over forty years for the health benefits of the exercise. In that time I have read a LOT of books on weight lifting.

In my opinion, "Beat the Gym" is being mis-marketed. I suppose the publisher--or perhaps the auther, or his agent, or etc.--felt the book needed a gimmick--a "hook". So the blurb makes a fuss about the book telling you inside secrets of gyms and personal trainers. Which it does to some extent, and that's interesting and potentially valuable information.

But for me, the unexpected delight in this book, and its real hook, was the exercise descriptions and pictures. Sure, most books have pictures, but the ones in this book really resonate with me. First, they are generally well lit: I've seen too many books with gloomy photos. And there is something else beside the lighting. Perhaps because instead of "start" and "end" pictures, the pictures are taken (I think) just after the start, so the model is already under stress. I don't know if that's the secret, but these photos are different from those in other books, and that makes the book a worthwhile buy for me.

I also like the written descriptions. I like the photos of bad versus good form. I like the training tips. I recommend this book! - Strength Training - Mens Health - Weight Training - Fitness'

Video Production - adaptors, audio

This cable can be used to connect an rca input to a 3.5mm aux port. I have a pair of computer speakers with a 3.5mm aux port that accepts external audio inputs. I connected the rca input from my Playstation 2 to the 3.5mm port on the speakers, and it plays my Playstation audio just fine. RiteAV - 3.5mm to RCA Stereo Female Cable - 6 inch

The 3.5mm jack is pretty fat and durable looking, as are the cables and RCA connectors. Pretty simple and useful thing, it converts 3.5mm stereo sound into RCA and it does just that. The price is great; something like this would cost much more at a store.

Audio quality on this thing is great. What else is there to say? Great job.

I should say that I bought this thing after buying one of those EasyCap A/V-to-USB video capture cards and noticed that the audio was miserable. A perfect fix with Audacity running alongside the video without any lag.

I have to assume that Eforcity runs a monopoly on these things, seeing as how he is undercutting like every store in Dayton Ohio! The cable got here FAST..really fast actually. It works perfectly with my Sabrent TV Tuner card..So yeah cheap, and easy!

I used this cable on my 360 paired with the VGA adapter and connected it to my monitor, the audio quality is more than good enough to play with, works exactly as described.

TIP: pair this cable with male/male RCA cables and you can connect your mp3 player/ipod to the 3.5mm jack and the other side to your reciever or other audio device.

Fast shipping 3 days which was not expected.

This pigtail will come in handy to have and is cheap enough to have an extra when needed.

I bought this for my TV which doesn't demand much volume.

The gauge wire appears to be 18 Gauge, which is fine for short runs. For good stereo the gauge should be at least 16 to 14 gauge (The lower the number, the better for current draw, also the more

volume is demanded, the greater the current draw, so for TV it will do just fine, but if your stereo is 10 to 20 feet away, I would seriously consider a heaver gauge wire; your speakers will thank you.

This cable length is 6" and because it is only six inches the size wire is not of great concern, as long as the longer cable you attach to it is at least 14 to 16 gauge (even 12 stranded), or you may weaken your stereo components. Warning: Do Not use this pigtail on a woofer base driver.

This cable is sold at a great price for lower volume devices and such, you can't beat the shipping service, the cost and the usage for which it is intended. - Adapters - Cable - Audio - Adaptors'

Art Supplies - gel pen sets

This is a great item. I love to work on Mandalas and this item does do the trick for what I love doing. The variety of colors is great!

The only problems I had with this item is the packaging of the pens is really flimsy. Before you receive this item, I highly recommend that you buy a holder that will stand them upright when they are not in use. The pens will only leak if you lie them on their sides. I learned the hard way. MY BAD. ROFL

Like any product, treat this product with care when you receive it. :) I still need to go out and get something to hold them properly. They are in a plastic bin away from my kids right now. :) Don't be lazy like me. ;) Gel Pen Canister 48/Pkg-Glitter, Metallic, Pastel & Bright

i purchaed these pens hoping they were glitter pens. only 3 or 4 out of the whole batch were glitter. one color which i really liked was a shade of brown and it was empty! i want a pen that has glitter and these did not.

I make greeting cards for my family and friends, I'm thrilled with the gel pens I ordered from this seller.

I will order from this company again. Everyone has given me great reviews on the cards they have gotten this year.

Ordered these pens on August 14th. It is now August 28th and still no pens. All other items ordered on that date arrived vary fast. I cannot rate the quality of the pens because I don't have them. My daughters birthday has come and gone. My last time ordering from ScrapbookkingAlley that's for sure.

Many of the pens quit working within the first few minutes of using them. The glitter may be getting clogged up in some but even the metallic ones are refusing to flow. I couldn't get them to write once again no matter how or what I tried. All the old techniques to get the ink to flow with ballpoint pens when I was in school failed. This assortment is proving to be a real "dud". Nearly 25% of these pens do not work after the first use. I always recap my pens they really should not dry out. I can clearly see the volume of ink is in the inner tube. Frustrating to say the least. Do Not Buy! Unless you've got money to blow!

This product arrived and when I opened the box the container that the pens came in was broken and the pens were scattered all over the box. This was supposed to be a Christmas gift for someone however now that the container is all smashed up I'm not sure it will be because of the presentation issues I have with this. The selection of color was nice, but the quality of the container and obviously the person who shipped it is not up to par with Amazon standards. - Gel Pen Sets'

Ipad 2g Accessories - ipad 2 cover, ipad 2g accessories

5 out of 5: "Great cover. Really nice feel, soft rubber type feel. very cosy, friendly feel. Very good protection as well. Much better than it's picture. I like this very much, just what I wanted. My last one was hard and cold, this is great." For iPad 2 - The Snugg Squared² Skinny Fit Protective Case Cover for Apple iPad 2 (Black)

Would have rated 5 stars if case were a bit wider on the top edge. If the mfr had added just 1/4" to the edge it would stay in place without slipping off the iPad. When holding the iPad by the edges the case often slips off - quite annoying. But, this silicone case provides a good solid grip when holding the iPad, especially when holding it during a FaceTime call. Also, provides nice cushioning if dropped. 3 stars versus 5 stars for want of 1/4" more silicone along the edge! Too bad the mfr didn't test it in use before selling a less than perfect product. Still like it and use it, but wish it were better.

This product has a very rugged exterior as the pictures indicate. However, it is simply too loose to feel like a case. It literally sags in the middle of the back as a result of this. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. There are better cases out there for a fraction of the price.

I love the case! Affordable, great fit, and offers protection from scratches to the back of the device. One complaint is that the case smells awful(this is not an exaggeration)! Overall, I'm happy with this purchase!

I figured it was an inexpensive cover to try so I would roll with it. I love the way it feels I also like that protection it affords but what I cannot get over is the fit. This thing is too loose. If you want to hold your ipad from the side the unSnugg slips off. If they could have incorporated a harder material to frame the ipad it would have been fantastic. It's really too bad because I loved everything else about the cover. So, if you don't mind the edges slipping off on occasion it's great. I have since ordered the Macally Dualstand2 based on reviews.

I had high hopes for this case-- the price was right and other reviewers gave great reviews. However, after trying this case out, I'm sending it back because it constantly slips off th sides of my iPad when I'm holding it. I'm going to look for a case with more riid material. I bought a case for the original iPad that was flexible yet stayed snug on the unit when holding it. That's what I'm in search of forne iPad 2.

We got an iPad 2 about a month ago. Instead of waiting in lines for hours/days at the Apple store (they kept selling out) I just ordered one at the online Apple store and waited 3 weeks until it shipped from China, to Alaska, to Oakland, to Portland, and finally to Seattle.

Anyway, my 3.5-year-old LOVES Garageband, and I was concerned about him dropping it. The iPad 2 is considerably lighter than the iPad, but it doesn't exactly float to the ground when dropped! And it's very slippery. We make him sit while using it, but I've caught him carrying it. I was looking for some corner and edge protection in a cover that didn't sabotage or compromise the iPad's uniquely slim feel and design. Too much to ask?

Well, being dropped is bad for gadgets with complicated electronics and big screens, no matter what you wrap them in. But the idea is that if you make a stupid, clumbsy mistake, the case should at least prevent breakage or damage. I don't care to conduct objective tests, but I feel confident this slim case with rubbery, padded corners would do quite well. Also, if you were to place it face down on a flat surface like a table, the thin rubber lip around the front edge keeps the screen from touching and getting scratched. The grip is excellent and goes a long way to prevent dropping or slidding off laps. Somehow it still manages to retain that amazing slim feel of this awe inspiring piece of technology. So I guess wanting decent protection while avoiding bulkiness is not too much to ask after all.

One possible negative: While the back and sides fit very well ("snugg", just like the company's name), the rim which wraps around the front edges seems a bit loose. And there are a couple cut-outs that the iPad 2 doesn't need. These two things lead me to believe the case was designed to work on both iPad models. When playing a game like Fruit Ninja, where you swipe your fingers wildly across the screen, it is easy to push the rubber "lip" off the edge of the device. By no means would the cover fall off because of this (the four corners and the other three edges are still hanging on), but it is a little annoying.

If you plan to travel or put your iPad in a brief case or bag of some sort, I would suggest a folio/folding case of some sort. Because our family mostly uses it around the house, this is an excellent solution and meets our needs. - Ipad 2 Cases - Ipad 2g Accessories - Ipad 2 Cover - Ipad 2 Case'

Nintendo Accessories - 3ds, hori

This is my first review ever for a product on Amazon. I was so impressed by this case though and HAD to let people know.

I owned this type of case for my previous DS Lite and loved it so was looking for a similar case for my shiny new 3DS. It seems that I was successful in my search. I am VERY pleased with this case!!! My 3DS fits perfectly and doesn't add too much bulk to the overall unit. It snaps right into place in the plastic holder and doesn't move around at all. I can play my games right from the open case but I also have the option (which isn't mentioned in the official description) of sliding the unit out with the plastic holder attached. The case is soft and padded and I'm not too worried about damage to the 3DS in case of droppage which will inevitably happen because I'm such a clutz. There are 3 small pockets in the front cover for games and a small loop near the spine for an extra stylus. The games fit snugly in the pockets so they are in no danger of falling out. There is a velourish type divider between the game pockets and the top of the 3DS so there are no worries in scratching the gorgeous shininess that is 3DS. It has a magnetic snap closure that holds very well.

The only drawback I can see is for the guys. The outside is shiny black with a crocodile skin look, much like you would find on a pocketbook or day planner. In other words, it's kinda girly. The company might want to think about making a manlier style for the guys. It also smells funny right out of the package but it just needs to air out as is the case with most fake leatherish items. Nintendo 3DS Luxury Leather Case

There is no question about the success of the Nintendo DS over the past several years. It honestly has been one of the most enjoyable video game systems on the market for the past several years, and has honestly gotten better through time. But when there is one good accessory that comes out that is great, there is one that isn't in full worth its money. That does come the case with this new Nintendo 3DS Luxury Leather Case. The feel of the case makes it easy and simple to store 3 of your favoite Nintendo DS and 3DS games past & present. It also works well with the Nintendo DS Lite, and Nintendo DSi. Sadly though, there are better cases that are worth their money, like the PDP Pull & Go Folio, which holds over 2 dozen titles, and at a a few dollars more. Still, if you're new to the Nintendo DS, and if you're looking for a nice storage case, than this would be a nice place to start.

Price: C+

Convience: B-

Overall: C+

the good:

The 3DS does fit well, and snaps out easily as you first attach a little plastic frame to the 3DS before inserting it into the case

There is room for 3 games and a stylus

the bad:

the outside is a very very tacky shiny faux reptile of some kind, very shiny.

the case had a very strong chemical smell (solvent?) and i had to air it out for 2 days on the porch before i could use it.

when closed up it is quite thick, bagable but not pocketable.

when you pop your 3ds out to charge it the plastic frame prevents it from fitting into the dock and the design of the frame makes it impractical to remove the plastic frame in order to recharge in the dock.

summary:

why buy such a cheap case for such an expensive gadget.

the plastic frame that attaches to 3DS is annoying and hard to remove. you could do better. - Hori - Accessories - 3ds - 3ds Case'
