Glad to receive the 24" X 50' carpet shield for my RV, which I cut with hack saw to have one roll 8" X 50' and one 16" X 50'. Two smaller sizes were easier to install than one larger roll. Being my first time, I tried to keep edges from collapsing in on itself as I was rolling it out...a bit hard, but got easier to manage after a stretch of two. Sure helps to keep things clean! Surface Shields CS2450W Carpet Shield, 24-Inch by 50-Feet

This is just sticky enough to barely adhere to carpet... and it wont adhere to dirty/greasy carpet at all... though I doubt anything would... this works well when trying to cover up an area where pets have been urinating... thoroughly clean the area... let it dry...Completely... and apply to the affected area... use excess amount to protect as much as possible, and prevent future incidents... all the while train you pet to use the proper facilities... after one week of solitary confinement and constant babysitting... i was able to get my 17 year old cat back to the way it should be... just keep a constant vigilance and if the squatting happens... be firm... and don't yell... tell them no... and then move them to the proper area... or do what i did and keep them locked up like a kitten... and make them go in a certain area... - Painting Tools'

Amazon Kindle Fire - kindle fire, interval timer

This is a no-frills wristband that doesn't have a special compartment or enclosure for the Gymboss timer. It's basically a stretchy band, backed in Velcro, with a loop shackle that allows you to adjust the fit.

If you own a Gymboss interval timer, you know it has a belt clip on its back. So you can clip it to your clothes, your iPod / MP3 player armband / wristband, whatever. If you want to do that then no, there's no point in you getting this strap.

But if you don't like the idea of clipping this thing to your pants, don't otherwise use an armband / wristband, or if you want to be able to easily see your Gymboss's display, this wristband is the way to go. It's well worth the $3 I paid for it. The wristband is made of very high-quality synthetic fabric, with excellent-quality Velcro along its entire length, and a shackle end that makes a good fit quite easily. It launders nicely, stays put even when soaked in sweat, and isn't at all uncomfortable / itchy.

Trust me, if your wrist is bigger than mine, you're not of the human species. I have no problem getting a very good fit, and based on how much of its length I use, I am fairly certain it would fit nicely on even a petite lady's wrist (but it is probably too big for a small child).

Again, it's admittedly no-frills, and if you have an armband for other purposes, or don't care about being able to see your Gymboss's screen while it's doing its thing, you can pass this over. But if you like to work out in quiet and want to see the timer, this is an excellent investment. Gymboss WRISTBAND - Kindle Fire - Interval Training - Gymboss - Interval Timer'

Travel Converter - europe, voltage converter

Upon receiving the product, I first verified that it worked in the U.S. without the converter enabled as a simple pass-through adapter. Once it passed this simple test, I gave it to my girlfriend who successfully used the converter in Hong Kong to step down the voltage at her hotel and at the airport. In addition, her roommate at the hotel was from Beijing, China and was also able to use the device to charge her phone and use her laptop.

The adapter itself is made of plastic, so it's as durable as plastic can be. The knobs that slide along the side lock in place once you've fully extended the prongs. It's a little bulky compared to other adapters, but that's because it contains several mechanisms for various prongs and the voltage converter circuitry. It also holds the input plug very snug, and the output plug also feels like a sturdy connection to the wall outlet. Travel Smart By Conair Adapter/Converter Combo with Surge Protection

The unit is easy to use. It worked perfectly for my laptop. I did notice that for the camera charger, in the converter mode my charger became hot quickly so I could only charge for a few minutes at a time. And for my curling iron, the converter mode barely heated the iron while the adapator mode over-heated.

We purchased this Adapter/Converter for a trip to Thailand ..... fortunately, we had a back-up adapter/converter. The Travel Smart by Conair didn't work from day one. It's a poorly constructed, cheap plastic. No surge protection....and none of our appliances (hair dryer, electric toothbrush, etc) would work with it. In fact my hair dryer burned out the first time I used it with this device. It's priced cheaply, but definitely a waste of money.

I took this on a trip to Israel and had a bit of trouble using it at first. The plugs tend to weigh it down and pulled it out of the outlet. Not sure I would purchase it again... and choose the small individual ones instead.

I was in Europe and this product stopped working on day 3. i just repackaged and tried to send back to the seller. this option funny enough had expired the previous day. Thanks seller for a terrible product and thankyou amazon for being unreasonable with your return policies. Let me guess, my comment will be deleted. Gift Card Restrictions - pathetic, restaurants

It has almost been a month and I still have not received my gift cards. When I contacted the seller, they simply just provided the tracking information which said it should have arrived two weeks ago. I contacted them again and they told me to wait a few more days. Christmas is in four days, and still nothing! I do not recommend this to anyone!" Outback Steakhouse Gift Card

I had a $300 amazon.com gift on my account so I thought it would be nice to take my extended family out for diner. So I bought 5 $50 Outback Gift Cards which cost me about $260. After I ordered the gift certificates I noticed my remaining balanced stayed the same on my amazon.com account. GiftCardMall would not accept my amazon.com surplus and instead charged my credit card of record. I immediately called their customer service number and was told they have a no refund policy, EVEN IF YOUR CREDIT CARD WAS STOLEN. Now I'm out $260. I am trying to rectify this with my credit card company. Absolutely terrible. An embarressment on so many levels.

This was my first time using Amazon and I was a little sceptical about buying a gift card online, but the service was excellent. I received an email when it was being sent out, it arrived in plenty of time for Christmas. I will definitely use Amazon more in the future. - Birthday Gift - Gift Idea - Restaurants - Pathetic'

I don't wanna spoil anything for anyone so all I'll say is the HPLHS completely immersed the entire product, even down to the packing labels, in the Lovecraft lore. 2 Player Board Game - strategy game, family game

Most people come to this game after they have already been introduced to the European Designer Games by Settlers of Catan. This is a different kind of game than Settlers but in some senses it shares a lot of commonalities. The game is easy to learn for a wide audience, it is reasonably quick to play (30 - 40 minutes) and is a very "immersive" game i.e. there aren't long periods of boredom. There are elements of strategy and luck, which makes for a "fun" game experience. This game is fun for children and adults. For children the "farmers" are a little too complex, but the game works very well without that element. The game consists of laying tiles to build cities, roads and monasteries in the South of France. Points are gained by creating long roads, building large cities or farming multiple farms. It draws elements of building jigsaw puzzles together with a strategy game of competing for territory. I have played this game with family members who aren't really into board games and they enjoyed it just as much as gamers. There are many expansions to this game which add a few more dimensions as you get more advanced. There is a very high replay-ability.I would high recommend this game to people who are bored with standard Monopoly or Cranium type board games that are popular in the US. If you loved Settler's of Catan this a "must"!Summary:Generalo 2 - 5 Playerso 30 - 40 minutes Playing timeAudience - o Children & Adultso Serious and Casual GamersFormato Tile Layingo Combines Strategy & LuckLongevityo High Replay-abilityo Quality Components Carcassonne

Okay, so the game has been around for awhile, I was just looking in the wrong places. I don't remember how I was led to this game, I was looking at a game site on the Web and they said how this game is consistently rated #1. So I clicked on it, and in a carefree mood I purchased it. I LOVE IT. Even my husband who usually rolls his eyes when a game is pulled out , has said he enjoys this game. We often play it with a 9 and 11 year old, and they are easily able to grasp the concepts, although their strategies could use some work.

What is so nice about this game is that there are no dice, no money to count and no constantly moving a piece around a board. Instead each player on his turn picks a cardboard tile(nice thick quality) and places it on the table, which acts as your board. You basically create your own puzzle each game, so it is never the same. Rivers match up to rivers, or city to city, road to road. You have to decide the best place to put the piece you just picked.

Sometimes the games are lopsided, with one person building a huge city and getting tons of points, but that is often due to the other players error and not a game fault. We have only been playing it 2 weeks, but so far I have learned/figured out something new after each game to help with future strategies. It's a quick game, and high quality. I have been so impressed with this one, that I have already purchased some expansions and Rio Grandes new game of Ark of the Covenant and Hunters and Gatherers, both using the same concept of Carcassonne but with variations.

This game definitely beats out the common store favorites of Clue, Monopoly, Life, Stratego and blah blah blah. There is a reason why it has been a #1 game, try it out!

This is a tile-placement game. Square tiles have roads, monasteries, cities and farmland printed on them. Each player in turn reveals a tile and places it such that all edges match edges already placed. For instance, a road has to connect to a road, it can not just stop. Once a player places a tile, they can claim part of the tile (road, farmland, city, or monastery). As these features grow the player gets more points. Monasteries do not grow, points are gained by filling in the nine surrounding spaces.

The skill comes from knowing just what to claim. Each player has a limited number of claim tokens. Once a feature is completed (road, city or monastery), the points are collected and the claim token becomes available for use again. Players must balance their use of the tokens and work to complete features so they can claim even more. One trick is to complete a short road or small city (just two tiles, sometimes three) and then claim it, thus getting the points and getting the claim token back immediately.

This is a quick game. Playing time is relatively short (thirty minutes or so) and play is easy. No two games are ever the same thus keeping the game fresh. A fun game for two to six players. The game is reasonably small and easy to transport. Pieces are cardboard tiles and wooden claim tokens. If you are looking for a fun game that doesn't take hours, then this one might be for you.

I bought this for the family to play and I (Dad) love to play it on a lazy/quiet day. It is not much fun for parties. My wife thinks it is tedious but she does not care for strategy games in general (she prefers Uno). My nine year old daughter plays it with me and she enjoys it. My daughter (as other parents have mentioned about their children) does not do farmers for two reasons: farmers are just complicated enough that she avoids the concept plus she is very sensitive about not running out of followers and very much understands that farmers once placed are not recoverable until the game ends. For this reason I tend to outscore her handily (fortunately for me she understands that the farmer issue is why I always win but she loves to play strategy games with Daddy and she is closing the scoring gap over time).

This game is not a "hoot" nor is it quickly paced. It is more of a moderate intensity strategy game. It is not however an overly complicated game that is hard or boringly slow to play. It is both easy enough that truly anyone could play (and enjoy) it yet engaging enough that serious thinkers can have fun with it.

This game does take up an entire dinette table to play and is not suitable for playing in the car for example. We put it in our RV and play it whenever we are camping. It is perfect for that. - Strategy Game - Carcassonne - Games - Family Game'

Surfboard Shaping - respirators, allergies

I use this mask 365 days a year. We raise 100,000 turkeys a year and use it daily on the farm. Its the best mask that we have found for the money. I"ve had mask that cost 1000 and they don't compare to the easy and comfort of this mask. 3m hit a home run with this mask. Love it buy it you'll be glad. The mask usually last me about 1 year before we start to replace parts. The other great part about the mask. If a strap or something breaks you don't have to buy awhole new mask just the parts. thanks 3m you made my life better and safer. 3M 1840701 Cartridge & Airline Full-Facepiece Respirator Full Facepiece, M

Fits like a glove and is really easy to put on and take off. Like a previous reviewer said, I wish I'd got one of these years ago. It's recommended you buy a pack of the disposable face protector shields if you'll be using it to spray paints.

I can tell you for a fact that this is the most precious piece of equipment I own, with the exception of my John Deere mower...:) I can't believe I use to mow the grass without a full face shield respirator. I use to come in from mowing with bloodshot eyes and suffer for a few days afterwards from allergies. This product is lightweight and fits like it was custom made. I have used it about 25 times this summer while mowing and it has made my 4 hour mowing a blessing!

I'm an avid home fixer-upper. I bought this mask primarily for respitory protection when sanding joint compound for sheetrock repair, and WOW, this thing is awesome! No more days of blowing dust out of my nose. My wife tells me I'll live longer because of this. She's probably right.

3M 1840701 Cartridge & Airline Full-Facepiece Respirator Full Facepiece is just that -- a facepiece. No filters are included with this facepiece. The unit works well, but know that you will need to buy filters separately.

This is a great full face respirator to use. It is lightweight and seals around your entire face for maximum protection. I love the adjustable straps, because I can get a nice, snug fit. I would recommend ordering this product from a safety store, because you're guaranteed to get what you ordered. Try Enviro Safety - [...]

I was surprised at the price drop on this mask. Unfortunately it seems this is just for the cartridge filters for this mask. The rest of the description is inaccurate. I hope someone can fix the error before more people are disappointed with their purchase. - Allergies - Full Face - 3m Respirator - Respirators'

Usb Wireless Adapter - wireless adapter, 80211n

For those of you using Windows or Mac OS X, I have no idea how this thing works. I am writing this for those who may be interested in using it on Linux.

I got this because the price couldn't be beat for the feature set. While USB Wi-Fi adapters tend to be much cheaper than their PCMCIA counterparts, this one has an especially good feature set for the price I paid. And it is not nearly so massive as the others I have seen.

I ordered this based on reviews of a different version of the AirLink101. The numbers following ("AWLL6075") are important in determining compatibility. Turns out the model AWLL3026 works out of the box with modern Linux distributions. However, no driver has been written to support the AWLL6075.

I tried using the supplied drivers with ndis wrapper. I could talk to the device, and it reported finding hotspots, but it never connected. Perhaps others may have more luck with this approach, but I wanted to let other Linux users who were considering this option that this is not yet a simple plug-n-play solution as I had anticipated due to my inadequate research.

I will write again if support gets added to update my experience. AirLink101 AWLL6075 Wireless N Mini USB Adapter

I got this a week ago to replace my Linksys G adapter. Man this thing rocks! It's small so that I can but this in the pockets on my laptop sleeve. And best of all I'm connecting at N speeds. I would definitely recommend this product.

I am giving this five stars because the product is great and works for what it is meant to do - connect a computer or laptop to a wireless network. Unfortunately, I took a chance and wanted to test it out to see if it would work with my WD TV HD Live and it does not!

Pros:

- works seamlessly on Macs

- great signal strength

- compact

Cons:

- still bigger than I would like for a laptop, but the smaller adapters have very short ranges.

I bought this because it is one of the few wireless N adapters I could find that would work with Mac OS 10.4+ . I had no problems with it. Given its size I was worried about signal strength, but it has surprisingly good signal reception and signal transmission . My router is on a low floor on the opposite end of the house and it was getting reception as good as the pci wireless card in my desktop PC. Installation was a breeze.

The adapter is quite compact though still larger than I would like for a laptop. However, reviews of the micro usb wireless N adapters consistently reported very short (10 feet) operating ranges. This adapter is a good compromise between compactness and range for Mac OS applications.

If you found my review helpful, let me know with your vote. If not, then leave me a comment so I can improve my review.

My old Linksys PCI based wifi N card needed to be replaced, it has a wire with an external antenna and it was getting in the way.

So I saw this Airlink for 9.99 on sale with free shipping so I decided to give it a try, if the product wasn't any good I wouldn't me out much money. To my surprise it works great, better than my Linksys in fact.

In Windows 7, I just needed to plug it into the USB port and the drivers auto-loaded for me. After that it was just a case of joining the network, very easy and painless.

Some other information that may be useful for others to base their decision on:

-It has two antenna inside of it instead of just one like the previous model had

-Windows 7 loaded a Realtek RTL8191SU chipset driver

-Transmission speed is 150mbps, receiving speed is 300mbps, ample for HD video streams

-Has a 'wifi protected setup aka WPS' button, so if your router supports and is setup for WPS, it's very very easy to join the two instantly.

The last observation I've had is that my old Linksys Wifi N card would only get two or three bars for reception strength. The router is on the lower floor in my home theater room which has 8 magnets (speakers) and multiple radio frequency generating devices (wifi, cellphones, cordless phone). But this Airlink device gets a full 5 bars of strength, I'm very impressed.

The only negative thing I can say although it doesn't affect my setup is that it will only talk on the 2.4ghz frequency. Some more advanced equipment will support the 5ghz frequency to provide a better quality wifi signal. IF your router is setup for 5ghz only, this card won't work for you unless you can enter a 2.4/5ghz mixed mode or drop down to 2.4ghz. 2.4ghz is the standard frequency that everything supports.

For those complaining about this adapter (AWLL6075) not working in the previous WDTV Live, it worked flawlessly for me in the Live Plus right out of the box (I purchased both of these items together). Either this adapter was added for the Plus, or I just got lucky when I set it up.

The adapter is very small and simple, comes with a software disc and setup guide, and even has a small "Connect" button on the unit for PC Setup (didnt need it on my WDTV media player). I ran network shared video and music, Pandora, and even Youtube at great speed.

Also I have this linked to a Linksys WRT54G router and so far dont see a need to upgrade to an N router, which is a plus. The only bottleneck is my DSL connection for streaming video, which has nothing to do with the adapter.

I have not seen any downsides to this adapter so far. I highly recommend this product. - Wi-fi - 80211n - Usb Network Adapter - Wireless Adapter'

Canon Digital Camera - digital camera, sony

I was looking for a new digital camera to replace my Leica V-Lux 1 which a bought a couple of years ago. I sold the Leica and was planning to use the money to buy a current camera. My dilemma was whether to stay with a super zoom camera (flaws and all) or take a step toward an entry model DSLR. I also wanted a 2009 model as I wanted the most current technology available so I would be less inclined to feel the need to buy an "upgrade" in another year or so. Ultimately, I narrowed my search down to the Sony HX1, Canon SX1, Panasonic G1 and Sony a300. For me, build quality and feel, size (travel convenience) and lens versatility were my main priorities (not necessarily in that order). I think it is very important to figure out exactly what you really want out of your camera so you get a good fit that matches your expectations. So for me, low light picture quality was not a major concern as I expected to use the camera mostly outdoors or in good lighting situations. And in-door shots were probably going to be portraits or museum shots so again it was not a big concern for me.

Initially, I really liked the form factor of the SX10 (SX1 was not out yet) and its feel in my hands and layout. But I did want a reusable intelligent battery vs. AAs and I was not that impressed with the screen resolution and EVF. Reviews of the SX1 were also a little disappointing so I decided to pass on the Canon. I next explored the DSLRs. I really liked the Sony a300 but in the end couldn't justify the cost (this is a minor hobby for me and kids are teenagers so there are a lot less Kodak moments for m) and I didn't want to lug lenses around as I did that most of my life when I had old fashioned film cameras like the Nikon FE2 / N6006. The G1 was very intriguing but I was leaving on a summer vacation in early June and did not want to wait too long as I wanted to be completely familiar with the camera before the trip and know how to "work" the camera so I got good results (experience has taught me that there is a learning curve on getting descent pictures from a particular model) so I passed on the G1 as its release date was in June. In the end, I "talked" myself out of buying a DSLR system for one main reason - I simply was not ready or committed to traveling around with all the lenses I would want - wide angle and zoom. Basically I went with convenience / ease of use over picture perfection. For ME the step up in picture quality was not worth the trouble of walking around with all that gear. I do a fair amount of camping and scenic trips so I like to keep my load light. HD video was not an issue at all as I have the Canon HV30 which is simply an amazing camcorder. It also takes incredible video in low light situations. I highly recommend it.

In the end, I decided on the HX1 because of the features that I thought were cool and would inspire creativity on my part. For me, convenience is a big factor. At some point, my enthusiasm drops off in direct relationship to whether or not it is a PIA to do something. This is a character flaw for me but worth considering if you have similar tendencies over time. Interestingly, this also happens to be my first Sony camera although I have had several Sony camcorders in the past - so I don't believe that brand loyalty or familiarity with Sony played a part in my decision (aside from my confidence that Sony products made in Japan are exceptionally well made). The panoramic picture, twilight and anti-blur features and burst picture mode (10 frames) ultimately swayed. I thought that all of these features, despite some valid weaknesses added value to the camera and would enhance my digital camera experience. I also really liked the build quality, menu structure and ergonomics. As for the features, the panoramic picture feature works well once you understand how to use it and recognize its limitations. So far I have been very happy with the results. I am working on sharpening the picture as I think it is a little soft for my tastes. But it is so easy to use and I use it often just for fun! I find myself exploring options - something I would not do before and certainly not during post production when I am trying to tweak the 100s of pictures that I have taken during some adventure. Same for the twilight and anti-blur features. I find myself trying out each feature and comparing the results. Again, I am very happy with the results. Is it exceptional - no, but pictures turn out better than if you did not have the option and I am not overly critical as it looks great on the screen or 4x6 print out. Even 8x10 is respectable. Quite frankly, it's really nice not to have to do all that editing in "post production". (I use Adobe CS.) I think the lens quality is exceptional and like the way the camera lens extends out when you power up the camera - as it pushes off the lens cap. A small cute feature that everyone seems to have overlooked in their reviews. But quite easy to get used to - like all the little auto on features in your car (and the lens has a strap so it safely hangs by the side of the camera). I am not sure if that is an intended result but I love it.

I wish the initial start up was a tad faster but it's not slow - I just wish it was faster. Zooming in and out is average. Nothing to write home about but not necessarily slow. My recollection is that the Panasonic Z26 I had at one time was faster. I also wish the lens was slightly wider than 28mm but it will have to do. (I am spoiled on this point as my son has a Nikon 10.5mm lens on his Nikon D2H and it is amazing when taking close ups of flowers, etc. - I love the distortion). But on the flip side the zoom is amazing on the HX1 and the anti-shake feature seems to do the job. I love the way I can pull a subject in to fill the screen! So overall I am very happy with the lens' performance. The EVF is small but has nice resolution. The 3" screen is beautiful and much better than what I saw on the SX10. The Sony screen reminds me of HD TV - it is that smooth and the colors are fantastic. It appears to have a very good anti-reflective coating. Hopefully it will last. I wish it had a swivel mount like the canon so I could turn in the screen to protect it when it is put away but the articulating stem is better than nothing.

Menu navigation is relatively easy for me with the HX1 and I prefer it to the Canon menu for some reason - even though I have HV30 camcorder. I think Sony started from scratch on this menu or adopted the basic scheme from the a300/a350 series and it makes sense and is intuitive. I like it better than the menu tree on my past Nikons, Canons and Panasonics.

All in all, I am extremely happy with the HX1 (only had it for a week so far) and strongly recommend that you check out the camera in person as I read every (and I mean every) pre-sale review on it and found that a lot of the criticisms were overly hyper-technical or ultimately less significant during my test of the camera. Manual Pencil Sharpener - home office, school supplies

Redesigned for manufacture in china this sharpener no longer offers long life and worry free use. Out of the box crank was on crooked, screws holding it together were stripped. The eight hole front pencil guiede is flimsy. The design will not stand up to class room use. Look else where. X-Acto Ranger 55 Table- or Wall-Mount Heavy-Duty Pencil Sharpener, Black, 1 Unit (1001)

Very nice heavy duty feel - quite rugged, Sharpens very quickly, better than most electric sharpeners AND takes different diameter pencils.

BUT, sharpens to an off-center point. That was a very significant disappointment in an otherwise super product.

Some pencils sharpen to an unusable state as the point is so off-center. Kids who tend to not keep the pencil perpendicular to the sharpener when inserting the pencil may have a hard time getting a usable point.

What a contrast between how rugged it is and how great the sharpening heads are generally with how the pencil actually gets sharpened.

I would bet some of these will sharpen off center like mine does & some not - it's a manufacturing consistency issue I would guess.

I am a teacher and have gone through a lot of pencil sharpeners in my classroom...manual and electric...and they were all JUNK. I was looking for and industrial strength pencil sharpener that would sharpen all kinds of pencils (even the cheap ones manufactured today), withstand the use of 120 kids a day, and last a long, long time. Well, I think I found it. I LOVE THIS PENCIL SHARPENER! I have only had it a few weeks, but I think that it will stand the test of time. And the word is out...kids from other classrooms come and use MY pencil sharpener now because the one in their room stinks! It may be expensive, but you get what you pay for!

I have two of these - made in USA circa 1950s or 1960s. The original models were made of heavy cast metal with chrome plated steel sides. They offered a point adjustment that moved the cutting heads closer or farther apart. And they size wheel was a solid cast piece.

This - while it has some of the best cutting heads on a pencil sharpener - doesn't measure up to the original Boston Ranger 55 sharpener. Still nice to be able to order one new instead of hunting through auction sites.

Several reviews said this pencil sharpener was heavy duty and worked very well. I teach school and have yet to find a sharpener that will consistently sharpen the poorly-made pencils in my classroom. I purchased this one in hopes that it was do the job. Unfortunately, it sharpens on one side of the pencil so it was a waste of money.

We homeschool our 8 children, and we have been through quite a few pencil sharpeners (manual and electric). This pencil sharpener takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'! It even sharpens those cheap "made in China" pencils! I highly recommend this pencil sharpener!!!

I bought this pencil sharpener based on other reviews I saw and was not disappointed. I was so very tired of having all of the other sharpeners we tried break down on us. Electric, hand held, wall-mounted, you name it, they all wore out very quickly. This one sharpens pencils to a very fine point and seems like it is going to last.

I'm a 2nd grade teacher and have struggled to find a solution to pencil sharpening issues. I spent an entire day researching various pencil sharpeners. I have employed a multitude of different pencil sharpeners, including the behemoth electric pencil sharpeners that are supposedly designed for school use. All have failed me. To be fair, I also believe the quality of pencils have deteriorated as of late, and that has not helped the issue. As my research into pencil sharpeners turned up no clear "winner," as even as the highest rated sharpener still got pretty dismal reviews, I began to think that the issue was that electric pencil sharpeners are just simply doomed to fail. Too many moving parts, and opportunities for malfunction. I turned my attention to manual pencil sharpeners and soon stumbled upon this beauty of a sharpener. I had it mounted upright on top of a bookshelf and it has been pencil sharpening bliss. I regularly have teachers come into my room with baskets full of pencils to sharpen, and have convinced a number of teachers to purchase one for their classrooms. Re-sharpening a dull point truly takes just a few turns of the crank. Butter. I will say that I've only had the sharpener for 6 months, but it is purring like a kitten, and I'll certainly let you know if my dreams of the perfect pencil sharpener get shattered. Anyway, keep it simple...remember that older technology isn't always obsolete...this sharpener is pretty sweet. - School Supplies - Pencil Sharpeners - Home Office - Pencil Sharpener'

Sony Dvd Player - sony dvd, upconverting dvd player

I purchased this item so that I could play DVDs from all Regions (particularly Region 2 in PAL format) and it works like a dream. I can now order DVDs of my favorite UK shows from Amazon UK that are (1) at a much less expensive price than what's being asked for the same product in the US or (2) not yet released in the US. It also plays all of my Region 1 formatted DVDs without any problems. I did order an HDMI hook-up with it. I'm delighted that I have it and am stunned that I only had to invest $49 for it. For the reviewer who cannot get the player to work with DVDs from other Regions, maybe it's a defect in your player. Mine works just fine. Panasonic DVD-S48 All Multi-Region PAL/NTSC Progressive Scan DVD Player

Supposedly a region free player, this not only played selectively only a few foreign dvds, rejecting the others as unplayable, it then started rejecting about 80-90% of all the dvds put into it. Unusable.

So, my wife and I watch a HUGE amount of TV in digital format off of USB jump drives. Our last dvd/usb player kicked the bucket after 2 years, so we decided to look for a different brand. I figured Panasonic makes a decent product, and the specs said this would play DIVX files, so we were good, right?

Nope.

The specs say it's multi-region, plays all different kinds of video formats, etc...

Turns out that's not the case. It'll play a dvd, but that's about it. I tried to play every video format I've got on my computer via USB and DVD-R. No dice.

Gonna return it because A) I need something that will play my videos, and B)it doesn't work as claimed in the specs.

Bummer. Guess you do get what ya pay for.

I purchased this item believing (as shown in advertisement) that it was a 'zone free' dvd player. Not so! Despite the fact that the packaging also claims this, more that half of my American release dvd's will not play on this machine. All of my foreign films do play with no problem, but now I have to purchase an 'American' dvd player for my others. A very disappointing purchase.

I bought this player specifically because the item description says it will play MPEG-4 (MPG4) and DivX (AVI) files.

It will not play either of these formats, nor will it play MOV, MPG, or AVI, which are common movie formats.

I see that several others commented on the same problem - not meeting the item description capabilities.

I am returning mine for a refund.

Ok, it was cheap and it works. The best it will do with 'composite connection' (no S-Video or HDMI) is 480p after setting Video to 'Progressive Scan' in setup. I have only one PAL title now and the best I can get on the big screen is letterbox unless I use the zoom control. Audio seems to handle everything. - Progressive Scan - Upconverting Dvd Player - Sony Dvd Player - Sony Dvd'

Cyanoacrylate Adhesives - glue, cyanoacrylate adhesives

Honestly I have never used every last drop of a Krazy Glue tube before. Seems like I always wasted the glue (and money) because I'd only need a drop or two at a time and after two or three times the whole thing would harden and be useless. It's been 6 months and the stuff is still good in the container and the brush applicator allows precise applications and less chance of glued fingers. I love this stuff. Krazy Glue KG92548R Instant Krazy Glue All Purpose Brush 0.18-Ounce

I thought this was just something my only guitar teacher did but it turns out that it's not so uncommon for classical guitarists to glue their nail together after a crack (or total nail tip dismemberment). Classical guitarists usually can't play without their nails, so a crack or a rip is a big deal.

I had a crack in my index nail bed and wanted to keep it from cracking further since my index finger is the most important in playing (and ripping the pink park of your nail off really hurts, trust me). So I first tried my dad's super glue when I visited home. I don't remember the exact brand, but it was a decent brand in the traditional tube style. This was messy. It followed the curvature of my nail to my finger and left glue under my nail on my finger, which creates an unsatisfying, annoying feeling on that finger afterwards. To top it off, it didn't last very long at all before it cracked back to where it was before.

So I bandaged my finger until I got this Krazy Glue brush to try to prevent further cracking. This thing is great! This brush is like what you use for old school white out, only with really strong glue instead of white out. One ever-so-light dab of my nail with this brush and I was good to go. It took 20-30 minutes to set but then it survived a shower and washing dishes and everything! Haven't tried playing guitar with it yet, but I will tonight. It definitely feels strong though, and it didn't get all over my finger! I'm really glad I paid the extra buck or two to get this instead of the traditional kind.

Pro: new packaging is a good idea

cons: cannot bind every material like my old tube krazy glue. (rubbermaid plastic don't work, metals don't work). still binds hard plastic and skin, though.

thoughts: they must have changed the formulation so the glue can be contained in the new packaging without drying out quickly. it's a nice idea. but krazy glue that cannot bind everything i throw at it is really not krazy glue at all.

For years I've found Krazy Glue to be an indispensable household aid, but was always frustrated that I'd use it once or twice and then next time I needed it, it would be hard and unusable. I even started saving items that needed glue so I could save up enough to make it worthwhile to open the glue tube -- not a user-friendly design at all!

But this little bottle, with a screw top and built-in brush -- is wonderful. The glue lasts a long time in actual liquid form, and the brush works fine. No more waiting to fix an item, no more finding the tube dried out. It's about time glue packaging improved. It's such a good idea that I'm sure someone got fired for it. Thanks for a great product.

Not much to say about Krazy Glue, it does what you expect it to do. It's not a miracle solution though, so don't expect it to glue a Manager's High Back Chair and the arm rest back together... It does take a good bit of time for it to dry, but once it does, it's Krazy good.

I recommend this product, because the price is good. Since Amazon ships it, it's tax free and arrive to your door step very fast.

Not as strong as the original. Takes a little longer to dry. However, it lasts longer since it will not glue the cap on to itself. Also w/ the brush, it is easier to apply to wherever you need it without gluing your fingers together! - Glue - Adhesives - Cyanoacrylate Adhesives - Super Glue'
