Iphone 3g Cable Cord Retractable - iphone 3g, iphone

I bought two of these for my iPhone 3GS, one for the car and one for the office. Works great, no problems at all. And it's small enough to toss in my pocket. I've only had them a few weeks, but I use them heavily. Would definitely buy again. NEW Retractable Black USB Cable Cord for iPhone 3G 2ND

The cable I received is different than the one in the picture. Though they perform the same function... I really hate that.

The one I received has a slightly taller/wider profile iPhone adapter and the buttons that unlock it from the iPhone protrude the surface of the adapter (similar to the adapter & locking mechanism on the cable in the link below).

NEW FOR IPHONE 3G 2ND BLACK USB DATA CABLE WIRE CORD by Eforcity

The latter doesn't really matter to me because of the former, due to the fact that it's height/width won't fit through the case I have protecting my iPhone (an inCase Slider -- a very popular case, and I'm sure that the problem would persist with a number of other cases as well). This means that, although the prong of the adapter does reach the charging receptacle and does indeed charge the phone, the locking mechanism doesn't make it that far. As a result the cable can be knocked out with a simple tap of the cable.

With shipping, it would cost me double to get a replacement from the retailer, so I won't bother. I just won't do business with them again.

Side note:

-The cable in the picture looks like it would fit with the inCase Slider and other cases. If I pull off my case, the adapter sits flush with the iPhone and it locks, as designed.

-Cable is flat and very thin.

-Product overall feels very flimsy. Handle with care

I bought this because I wanted a very short USB to iPhone cord.

It works great with my iPhone 3G.

Unfortunately, after daily use over a few months, the plastic near each connector started to fall apart, exposing the wires within. If I turn my iPhone the wrong way, the connection fails completely.

But... for several months I got great use of this relatively cheap cord. because I really want a short cord (this is only a few inches long when coiled up), I might just buy 2-3 of these next time and just not be surprised that I need to replace it every few months.

Why did I ever buy a cable from Apple and spend so much $$$ ? I wish I'd seen these first. I bought two of them and they are great, no problems at all. I have one in my car and one on my desk. The retractable action is nice, to not have wire spread out all over the place.

I have been looking for a decent travel style retractable cable. It seems that Apple doesn't think its users need such items....Hence the opportunity for this 3rd party device.

Its small light weight and works as promised. Thus far no troubles with cable and at this low price I picked up 2-3 just in case it gets left behind.

I would agree with the other users that its a bit on the short side when fully extended...So its not really suitable to be used with the portable power plug provided with iPhones. Best to use it with your laptop and enjoy the fact that you can quickly pack it up and it takes a minimal amount of space.

I really like this! WAY cheaper than anything A**le would sell and works just as well. I take this one to work as a backup. The end that goes into the phone is a little tight, but overall I'm really happy with it for the price.

Because of the low price I picked up a handful of these charger cables for my iPhone. It's a bit short in length, which I think defeats the idea of it being retractable. After just two weeks, my iPhone began turning itself on and off while charging. The cable had apparently developed a short somewhere and I replaced it. Perhaps the other ones I purchased will last a bit longer than two weeks. Give it a try if you must, but have a spare in case it fails. - Iphone 3g - Iphone - Data Cables - Ipod Sync Cable'

Tortilla Makers - tortilla maker, tortilla

I'll admit that at first I was a bit frustrated with making my tortillas. This quickly ended after I figured out a few things and my second batch was so much fun to make. This is what I do:1) Mix up the maza and keep it moist. I roll out the balls first.2) Use 1 sheet of wax paper.3) Fold the wax paper in half (I do this diagonally so that it fits)4) Put the wax paper so that the open end is at the hinge side of the press and the folded part of the wax paper is at the handle side of the press. This will help in removing the tortillia.5) Put your tortillia ball about 1 inch off center towards the hinge of the press and then fold over the wax paper and close the press. The maza being off center will keep it evenly pressed. If it is in the center it tends to get pushed forward too much and hangs off the press.6) Open the press and run the wax paper with your hand a few times prior to peeling of the paper. This helps to break the bond. Turn the paper over and do the same thing to the other side. The tortillia now will fall out the paper very easily.7) Since the paper peels off the tortilla from back to front, the tortillia will not rip. If the paper were the other way it tends to rip the tortillia as the handle side of my press makes the tortillia thinner there.Hopefully this helps get you started. I love this press. Wish it were bigger though. Norpro Cast Aluminum Tortilla Press

I checked out tortilla presses at Williams Sonoma and Sur la Table before getting this one. The others were crusted over with cheap chrome jobs, one that looked like goopy silver spray paint. One display model's finish was even chipping in the store - there's no way nasty flakes of chrome are going in my fresh tortillas! This press is cast aluminum and just beautiful. It works well and, if you use wax paper or plastic wrap when you press the dough, it doesn't require cleaning at all.

If you have ever had a fresh tortilla made of stone-ground corn, you will never, ever eat a packaged tortilla again. You can also use this to make the round wrappers for potstickers (chinese ravioli) and other chinese dough wrappers like bao (stuffed buns), shu mai dumplings and Peking pancakes for Moo Shoo Pork. Also works for chappatis. A handy device.

This is a sturdy tortilla press. Freshly made tortillas are a heaven sent delicacy compared to store-bought ones. That being said, beware of the limitations. If you are looking to make burritos, for example, with your fresh tortillas, this won't do. The diameter of the tortillas you can produce is just too small. The other limitation is that it is difficult to get thin tortillas. As a result, what you can produce with this is closer to what might be most purely "authentic" - a relatively small, relatively thick tortilla more suitable for eating alone or as a "soft taco" than anything else.I like this product, but I continue to look for something to let me make larger, thinner tortillas.

I have had one of these for many many years and it finally died on me. I purchased another of the same to replace it, that's how much I loved it!! I highly recommend these to anyone who wants to make their own tortillas. It sure is easier than rolling them!!

There's often a construction detail that is left out in manufacturing these. Though this thing does press the masa into a disk, it will come out uneven in thickness. If you watch the top plate when you press the masa ball, the top plate will warp or bow as the masa lump resists it in the middle. The tortilla is pinched thinner near the handle. That's one problem. The other problem is the gap between the plates near the hinge. I don't think the manufacturers carefully gauge the gap between the plates nearest the hinge. If the plates actually touch near the hinge area, and they often do, the masa gets extremely pinched to transparency in that area. If this happens along with the warping when pressing, you get a tortilla that is fat in the middle and piched at two edges. Viewing it on edge you get a flying saucer shape.

Five solutions:

1) After pressing, even out the thickness with fingers or rolling pin. It helps if you press slowly, release and press slowly again. Pressing slowly prevents the warping of the top plate creating a more even tortilla. If you press too hard to fast, you risk snapping the handle.

2) Reject pliable aluminum and purchase a stiff cast iron one that you inspect visually for a proper gap between the plates near the hinge.

3) Acquire a mesquite wood one that is properly gapped near the hinge. If it's not you can always unscrew the hinge and reposition it. Pine wood is too soft to stand up to time.

4) Go back to hand rolling.

5) Buy packaged sawdust shaped to look like corn tortillas.

BTW - As a side note, 6 inches for a tortilla is a bit small and really kind of girly man size. Maybe they're supposed to mimick Tapas proportions from Spain. The tiny tortillas are quaint, dainty and authentic size I suppose and yet I think they were meant for four foot high Mexicans from the desert mountains. But I'm hungry and I want a manly, American consumer size tortilla the size of Texas! In my travels in Mexico I remember the little stands that offered these miniscule soft tacos which were okay for finches, sparrows and canaries, but common on - FEED ME!!! There are 8 inch presses out there and the wooden ones tend to make larger tortillas.

My wife and I are were not very impressed with this tortilla press. Compared to a plastic one that we originally had, this one is much better. Unfortunately, it would not press tortillas as thin as we wanted, and 6.5 inches was smaller than we thought it was going to be.

We later switched to the 8 inch cast iron press that is also sold on amazon, which we have been much more satisfied with. The cast iron press will thin out our dough as thin was we want, even to the point of being too thin if we push it that hard. The size of the tortillas is much more convenient as well. If we want smaller tortillas, we just use less dough. - Gadgets - Tortilla Maker - Tortilla - Kitchen Aid'

Headphone Accessories - cables, headphone splitter

The item is unusable as a splitter with 2 sets of stereo headphones - the white jack connects to left channel (tip) only and the red jack connects to right channel (ring) only. Yet a careful look at the jacks provided shows they are stereo jacks.

Frankly, I'm not sure what the application is intended to be...I'm unable to come up with any use for it, unless you're a couple who happen to be hearing-impaired in opposite ears. Belkin F8V234 Speaker and Headphone Splitter

I ordered this thinking that i would get a splitter so that i could use two headphones for one jack. All the product did was split the audio into a left and right channel. I could only hear the left side of my headphone that was connected to the white side and vice versa.

This Belkin splitter perfectly split a stereo headphone jack into two stereo headphone jacks. The sound is great, it appears well built, and all the connections are solid. I can't ask for more.

Note that the image above is incorrect. The headphone splitter is actually all black, and looks much better for it.

I was specifically looking for a left-right channel splitter, just like the picture; one regular stereo 3.5mm jack to two separate 3.5mm jacks - one red and one white, for the left and right channels. Many reviewers complained about this cable only splitting the audio into the two separate channels, and that is exactly what I was looking for: a left-right splitter.

I ordered this assuming I would receive the pictured product, the same one the reviewers were complaining about. What I got was a simple stereo Y-splitter, which isn't what I needed or wanted to purchase.

If this seller actually has any 3.5mm left-right splitters, I would love to know and would gladly purchase one.

Like the previous reviewer, I received an all-black splitter.

Every couple of days, I lose the left channel of my speakers. I have to fully unplug and replug the connector to the splitter to get the sound working again. I believe it's the splitter because this does not happen when I don't use the splitter.

When it is working, it sounds fine, but I'm no audiophile. Oh, well. Three dollars.

This is a jack splitter, works fine, and though i do have a use for this (thus the 3 stars), this is not what i intended when i ordered it.

What i was looking for was a 3.5mm to RCA Stereo Female Cable, which is what the picture details, this is not one of those, this is merely a jack splitter, which in itself is fine, however if your like me and aren't overly experienced in tech terminologies, you might look at the picture and purchase the wrong product like i did, so be aware of what this is.

The product is 5 stars, however amazon get's 1 star for not showing the actual product, and thus the 3 stars.

I've only had the product about a month, but it's working as expected and performing fine. I can now have both my computer's speaker combo and the transmitter for my wireless headphones plugged into the same audio jack on my computer, depending on my listening preference at any given moment. (One of my computer's 2 audio jacks got messed up, that's why I needed to buy this product.) Well worth the money spent, IMO.

I really needed this to share music with a friend. After I plugged it in, it worked but was distorting the music. I would consider a higher quality one but if you are looking for an inexpensive headphone splitter, this is OK for a gift or for just sharing music with a friend. - Audio - Y Cable - Headphone Splitter - Cables'

Animation - blu-ray, animation

The biggest flaw in this story ... is that it makes a 45-year-old man cry like a child every time I watch it. My opinions on Disney movies vary -- some are good, some are almost unwatchable -- but "Beauty and the Beast" is the best work the studio has ever done. Why do I love this movie so much? I think it's the music. In some musicals (animated or live), as soon as a song begins, the story comes to a grinding halt. (Can anyone remember one tune from "Mulan"?) But in this film, the music by Ashman and Menken advances the story marvellously. Animation and voice acting combine in a near-flawless performance, and the use of computer animation in the ballroom dance sequence was ground-breaking in its time.As for the added features, the added song "Human Again" is a wonderful fun number. I can understand why it was left out of the original version, but its inclusion really doesn't detract from the story (it's another big production number like "Be Our Guest", not really essential to the plot, but helps us get to know the supporting characters). The "making of" features are fairly interesting; the on-disk games I can take or leave. But the film itself is still the gem, worth the purchase price all by itself; the standard by which all other Disney movies are measured. Beauty and the Beast (Five Disc Combo: Blu-ray 3D / Blu-ray / DVD / Digital Copy)

Belle is bored with life in her village. Her only escape is her books, and she longs to have an adventure of her own. When her father heads out to a fair, he gets lots, and Belle finds him in an enchanted castle. The objects are thrilled, because if she and their master, the Beast, fall in love, they will all be freed from the enchantment. But will Belle be able to see past the outward appearance? And what about the handsome bore back home who wants to marry Belle?I feel in love with this movie the first time I saw it, and that love has only grown over the years. The story is the right mix of fun and uncertainty. Gaston was a wonderful addition to the mix because his story was the part I was most uncertain about the first time around. The artwork on the film catches your eye from the first shot of the castle, and doesn't let go. Beside the incredible background shots are wonderful drawings of the characters. I especially love the boyish excitement they manage to give the Beast in several scenes. Finally, there's the music. Every song adds to the story and is memorable in its own right. This DVD is perfect for any fan of this movie. Disc 1 includes three versions of the film. The first is the "in progress" version shown to the New York film festival 6 weeks before the premier of the movie in 1991. While it's fun to have, I won't be watching it regularly. The second version is the original release. And finally comes the special edition, with the added scene and "Human Again." Ironically, this is probably my least favorite of the songs added to the Broadway version, but it does advance the story. And, there's always the option of watching the original version. Obviously, the version that you are supposed to watch is the special edition, as the audio commentary and sing along bonus features only work with this option. All three come in Dolby 5.1 sound, which sounds great. The second disc features hours of bonus material. Most of it focuses on the making of this movie. Everything is covered, from original idea through characters and the Broadway version and special edition. Galleries show character designs over the course of the project. Also featured is the original treatments for "Human Again" and "Be Our Guest." Celebrity voices give background on the original story and Disney versions of classic tales. And there's a fun documentary as the stars of "Even Stevens" take a backstage look at all the work that goes into making a feature animated film. This is the only film so far to be nominated for an Oscar for Best Picture. Watching the film, the reason is clear. This is something the entire family can enjoy. Don't miss your opportunity to catch this classic film.

We all know that "Beauty & the Beast" is a "5 star" movie. It's too bad this transfer is not. This is exactly the reason Amazon needs a two-rating system. One for the movie & the other for the actual product. Nobody is getting their movie reviews from Amazon, believe me. What we need to know is if the DVD or Blu-ray is good.

So, let me start by pointing out the good. You get all 3 versions of the movie. The sound is excellent. Very level, deep when it need to be & the music sounds clear & full. Colors in the movie are bright, while the darks are perfect, with no sign of artifacts in them.

Now we get to the bad stuff. Let's face it, when we're buying any kind of video product, the picture is the most important thing. If the picture stinks, the whole think stinks. And although the picture on this Blu-ray doesn't stink, it's not perfect. Far from perfect in fact.

Let's start with the first problem, the lines. In hand-drawn animation, the lines are everything. If they are not constant & clear, the characters lose some of their realism. The lines in Beauty & the Beast are very thin, which is great for details. However, digital media is just not able to handle thin lines correctly. Several times pieces of a line will disappear into the color behind it. Most noticeably on Cogworth's face. His clock face will come through & "bloom" over most of the lines on his face, losing most of the detail. But the main problem with the lines in this transfer are the white "halos" around them. It seems like they used edge enhancements on the characters. But I'm not 100% sure this is what they did, as this halo never appears on any of the backgrounds. All I know is that at certain times, characters will have these halos surrounding their lines. The Beast takes the brunt of this & looks terrible in every shot. Just check out the sharp ends of his fur to see what I mean. Gaston also suffers from this, especially his face. What I did notice is that for the first half of the film, the lines seem to have been drawn with a dark brown color. Later on, the lines are black & this halo problem lessens. So I'm thinking that the problem is the digital media of Blu-Ray, even though it's high-def is not able to handle the dark brown lines against any brown-based back (flesh, brown fur, tan). When I saw this film at an IMAX theater, I did notice some of the same problems with the lines. So maybe the problem isn't even the transfer, but the actual film itself. Maybe the transfer is just so high-detail it's showing the film's flaws. In any case, these line problems can be distracting at times & I found myself noticing them & focusing on them, rather than the movie itself. Which is not a good thing.

Other video problems include graininess within certain colors, especially yellows or gold, like Lumiere. There is also an annoying strobe like problem, when the action seems to be going fast. This was most noticeable when Maurice is escaping the wolves.

To finish up, we all know the movie is great. Unfortunately, this film just doesn't look as good as let's say Pinocchio or Snow White. Which is kind of amazing, considering those movies are 50+ years older than this one. - Blu-ray - Animation'

Interconnects - usb, usb cable

This 15ft USB cable was received in a normal time for shipping but where it really helped was the tight space I was able to use for my printer. I have my computer set up in the bed room and was able to squeeze in both my printers in the limite space I had. Black 15 ft Hi-Speed USB 2.0 Printer Scanner Cable Type A Male to Type B Male For HP Canon, Lexmark, Epson,

This cord did not work for my Canon Pixma MP480 printer! It would not communicate with the device and install the drivers. Then, I bought a slight more expensive cable (under $5 more) from a different company, the printer communicated perfectly. The more expensive cable was slightly thicker than this cord, so that may be why.

Product arrived well wrapped and as described.

Unfortunately I purchased wrong item but

chose not to return it hoping it will work

for another computer component.

Speedy delivery for this seller and quality

product.

Well I received the cable... and it worked. Nothing bad to say about it. Looks like a normal printer wire but for the right price! Highly-Recommended for people who are shopping for a long "Type A Male to Type B Male" wire.

This cable does not work with HP Photosmart C6150 printer. It caused the printer to "wig out", and ultimately would either spit out pages with gibberish on it, or jam paper in the printer. (The original cable still works fine, but it's not long enough.)

The purchase price was not worth the time, hassle, or cost to return, so it was a waste all the way around.

It's the perfect cable for me for two reasons: I can set my butt anywhere in the room and print with my laptop..... The price was one third that of a 6 ft. cable at WALMART... go figure. Works great, no problems. - Usb - Usb Cable - Usb Cables - Printer Cable'

Greeting Card Paper - blank cards, greeting cards

These cards are overall a good deal. They work best for invitations, announcements, and other times when you will be doing mass mailings. They are a little too flimsy for my liking for nicer, individual cards, despite Avery advertising them as "heavyweight" on the box. That's the only reason I give them four stars instead of five. Other than that these are great cards; I haven't had problems with smearing or paperjams at all. The cards are scored evenly and fold very easily. The texture is a nice touch, too. Avery Textured Half-Fold Greeting Cards for Inkjet Printers, Uncoated, 5.5 x 8.5 Inches, White, Box of 30 (03378)

I completely agree with the previous review. While I certainly don't think the cards should be classified as heavyweight (they most definitely are not), the texture is very nice and the printing on them is excellent (I love our Canon i860 printer. If you're shopping around for a new printer, I would highly recommend it). Happy cardmaking!

I've been making my own cards using Staples' Photo Greeting Cards. When I went to get more of Staples' cards, I found they were sold out of their own product, so I opted to buy this Avery 'card' paper instead. I thought, because of the Avery name, the product would be comparable or of superior quality. BOY was I disappointed! I might as well have used 24 lb. paper I had at home. The Avery paper in this package is NOT cardstock, which is what I expected for a greeting card type of product. I'm Very disappointed, particularly because I expected better of Avery.

I have been using these for well over a year. I make greeting cards for my church and I have made over 150 for them already this year, as well as my own cards. Made with this paper they look better and richer and are well liked by everyone. They print well and the colors are great. I have used many kinds before I found these. None compared.

Service from the provider was fast and I got exactly what I wanted! I make my own cards for a large extended family and these are perfect! The slight texture to the cardstock makes each card a little nicer than slick cardstock, at least in my opinion. I will certainly order it again.

My wife uses these cards in conjunction with her Printmaster program to create a variety of greeting cards. She really loves this product as it has an integral pre-fold crease which facilitates a pefect fold after printing. - Greeting Cards - Blank Cards - Avery - Envelopes'

Leather Kindle Cover - kindle accessory, leather kindle cover

Have a good scale and have now seen all cover colors, so here's data to help you pick. VERY well made cover.

Weights are for the cover only, not including the Kindle:

Cover without light -- 170 grams or 6 ounces

Cover WITH light -- 240 grams or 8-1/2 ounces

Only you know whether the 2-1/2 ounce difference in weight is worth carrying all the time to have a light always at hand.

The most accurate depiction of the cover colors is the photograph at the bottom of the sales page.

Burnt Orange -- same shade as a basketball

Burgundy Red -- closer to a vibrant brick red as it has no purple overtone

Steel Blue -- pure grey blue which shows well on web page

Hot Pink -- deeper shade than it appears anywhere but photograph

Green -- picture a Granny Smith apple

Brown -- very deep brown, not a chocolate color Kindle Leather Cover, Steel Blue (Fits 6" Display, Latest Generation Kindle)

Amazon hasn't reacted yet, but there are numerous discussion threads on the Kindle page here and the Kindle Facebook page about a technical problem with these non-light book covers. They appear to be causing the Kindles to short out (they actually hook into the Kindle with metal tags). Since it seems to have started in the winter months, I read a theory that it might be from static electricity transmitting from the cover into the device.

It started out as a mystery - my Kindle, which had worked well for the first few months after I bought it, began to malfunction in November, to the point that I could no longer use it for reading. It wouldn't wake up from its screen saver - I'd have to force it to reboot just to get it to unfreeze, and it would need to reboot two or three times before it would show me my desktop.

The battery would drain after only about 5 or 6 hours, meaning I could read it in the morning but not in the afternoon. Eventually, i couldn't read it at all - it would take so many reboots to get it operating that my dog walk or my lunch break would be over! Amazon said before calling customer service to report a battery problem I should leave it uncharged for 7 days to see if the battery could hold on that long. It bricked itself after 18 hours. No amount of charging it after that brought it back to life again.

But when the replacement product arrived and I placed it into the cover I'd kept from the first one, it happened all over again, right from the first day! Amazon told me they wouldn't send me another one (I guess they decided I was trouble for having to broken kindles in one week), so i started reading about the problem.

As soon as I saw the threads positing that this was a cover malfunction, I pulled my new kindle out of the cover. It's only been a few hours, but I have a normal Kindle again! Fast page turns, always wakes up from screen saver as it should, and in every respect has been worry-free since I took it out of the cover.

Please avoid any cover that hooks into the Kindle with metal tags. The problem is very hard to diagnose because it manifests as a battery problem, but the problem is probably static shocks coming from the cover directly into the Kindle's electrical system. And Amazon, stop selling these covers and allow us to return the ones we've already purchased as part of a defective product recall.

I am very pleased with this cover. It is very protective, a nice shade of blue and very compact. It does fold over. I know some people don't realize this. The leather is stiff at first but it will fold over and soften after a few days. I had the official cover for kindle 2 and they have made some improvements. The leather is a better quality, they now offer a choice of colors and the spine doesn't feel like it will fall apart. Overall having the elastic is nice as well as it makes it more secure. I like that it makes the kindle feel more like a book and the hinge system is really nice. I like the clean look and won't be buying any cover that puts corner straps on the device. My one con is it weighs 5.7 ounces and while that is not heavy it really could be more like 4 ounces as they probably make the cover heavier than it really needs to be and still be protective.

I had been having issues with my Kindle WiFi not turning on when it had been in sleep mode, or rebooting while it was asleep causing the last save location in a book to be reset. Amazon Support sent me a replacement Kindle and I had the same exact issues. I read a story on a forum about removing the cover and thought I would try it. I was very skeptical but removing the cover has fixed my problems. I have not had any resets with the device since removing it. It was happing several times a day before and now I have gone days without a reset. Amazon Support also would not allow me to return the defective item since it has been over 30 days.

Called Tech Support to check why my 2 day old kindle would not work and they said the cover seems to be causing the issue. They suggested the lighted cover. I will give that a try and review my experience. For now even kindle tech support doesn't reccommend this cover. - Kindle Leather Cover - Kindle Accessory - Kindle Covers - Leather Kindle Cover'

Universal Remote - remote controls, tv remote

For the price, this is a very neat remote. It controls up to 3 devices and normally, it should be easy to set up. In my case, it took a long time to set up the TV because it wasn't in the automatic programming for my brand, or in the manual code entry for my brand. I had to use the automatic setup for *all* codes, which means pressing the channel up button for 30 mins (missed the code twice and couldn't go back). For my digital tuner, I inserted the code from the chart manually and it worked right away. Now I have one remote for both devices. Then again, we're not used to having a remote so we still get up =) When we do use it, it works like a charm. Philips SRP1003/27 Universal 3 In 1 Remote Control for TV and DVD

I tried every code in the book (and then some) and this simply does not work for my Philips DVD-714 player. It *almost* works: The closest I can get is total functionality of power, play, pause, fwd, rev, stop, ok, and directional buttons, but the menu button doesn't work. Which means I have to sit through every preview and commercial on every DVD (there is no menu button on the player itself). Other codes let the menu function work and nothing else.

I'm giving it two stars instead of one, because it does work perfectly for my Sharp TV and Motorola DVR. But the DVD player was the reason I bought this remote in the first place (and the reason I chose a Philips brand remote to replace the missing one) so I'm pretty ticked that it doesn't work.

I ordered this remote for an older 24 inch flat panel Phillips TV I had laying around. The best part about this remote for me was that it is ready to use directly out of the box for Phillips TVs. All I had to do was put in 2 AAA batteries and I was all set. I couldn't have asked for an easier setup. I would definitely recomend this for someone who has a Phillips TV and can't find the remote/has a broken remote.

I purchased this remote to operate my cable/DVR box. Nearly all functions work properly on my Cox-Motorola DVR/Cable converter box. However, I am not able to activate the list of recorded programs. I tried every code related to Cox and Motorola and every button on the remote to no avail. A chat conversation with Philips customer support was of no help either. The next universal remote I get will have at least one programmable button.

I tried every code in the pamplet and not a one worked to operate my DAEWOO DVD player, save your money and do not buy this piece of junk. I had to rate this item with at least one star for it to go forward, but my rating would be no rating at all.

Bought this because the tv remote for our Sceptre quit working. We had trouble getting other remotes to work with that tv. This one: we put in the code and everything worked immediately. KUDOS! My wife likes the look and feel of it too, especially since our pets haven't chewed off the buttons yet...

Works great with my Samsung television. The only button that doesn't work is the "last" button to scroll back through the menu, but that didn't work with my $20 universal remote either. You can't beat the price on this remote. No frills, works well. Unless you must use a million functions for your digital receive, get this. - Remote - Remote Controls - Remote Control - Tv Remote'

Car Electricity - inverter, car electricity

Got this to put in my little RV. I was looking for something small enough to not draw down

the one battery I have in the Coach. Installed under a cabinet close to the battery and

ran 10 ga wire to it. Plug in the Coach electrical cord to it and turned it on. It will

run a Radio or TV or the Microwave or the Fan in my A/C but not the A/C itself which would

take about a 3000 watt inverter which would drain my battery really fast! I watched TV and

listened to the radio for 2 days and finally ran the battery down running the A/C fan on the

second day. It's a little workhorse. Good for the price too! Cobra CPI 880 800 Watt 12 Volt DC to 120 Volt AC Power Inverter with 5 Volt USB output

Bought this for tailgating at Buffet. I was actually able to hook it up to a lawn tractor battery and power a blender. I wasn't sure if the battery would have enough juice, but it worked great and was much easier to transport than a car or marine battery. Testing at home showed the low voltage alarms and whatnot work very well. I just wish this came with a cigarette lighter cord for those times you're just using it on low-amp devices the way some other inverters do. Also, I agree with some other reviews that the mounting tab locations look like they would make getting the screws in there difficult. I haven't tried mounting it, but the edges of the case definitely would get in the way. Creative DIYers would find a way to make it work, so no big deal.

The first one died within about 6 weeks. That is not a good sign... but Cobra made good and sent me a new one which has been working flawlessly for > year. I like this unit because the fan is active, not passive. So if you are using it to, say, charge a phone or run a laptop with a charged battery, (e.g. not much current draw) the fan stays off. As a noise-freak, that makes me happy. The power rating seems realistic, unlike two other units I tried. I'm quite happy with it, minus the dead original of course.

I do NOT have electricity in my Carport, so this little gadget is a GODSEND. It runs my Elipitical Buffer (for my Cars) wonderfully, and cuts out BEFORE my Cars' Battery Charge is emptied. I would not want to be without it!

Had this for some time now never let me down it's got over load shut off and 1600 watt peak power so can power almost any thing I want and if I power so much stuff it shuts it's self off so I don't mess it up

The inverter is great, and the cables that Amazon recommends are useful. However, there are 3 cables in the package when you only need 2. You only need a red and black to install the inverter. Also, you don't need an additional fuse box as Amazon recommends since the inverter has its own protective circuitry that will alarm and shut it off if it is overpowered or overheated. You'll need a large soldering iron to solder the cable ends on. I had to shorten the 10 foot cables by about 8 inches to install in my truck, so the ends of the cables that were already tinned were cut off. My little 25 watt soldering iron didn't make enough heat to re-tin the ends and solder on the connectors. No biggie, just time for me to step up to a big boy soldering iron. Hope this helps. Good luck.

mine works great. i don't use the wires that it comes with. they are short and thin. i modified my old jumper cables to use with it. i cut the clamps off of one end and permanently attached that to the inverter. now i have big clamps with 12 foot wires for a little more flexibility. i have used it for camping to make coffee and it worked great. i have also hooked up various power tools and those fired right up. (power drill, circ saw). i had my truck running while i was using it only because i was nervous about killing my battery. (we camp out in the middle of nowhere). it's a good little tool, i would recommend it.

Works great in my car.

The cables provided are undersized for the current levels the unit is capable of drawing. For an 800 W load at the 120 VAC output, that's about 80 A at the 12 VDC input. In order to safely use this unit continuously at its max power output, it would need 4 gauge cables on the input, not 10 gauge. Don't bother buying the cables from Cobra, just go to a car audio supply place and make your own. Don't forget an 80-100A fuse close to the battery - the unit has its own fuse but you don't want to rely on that if the cable breaks elsewhere and shorts before the unit's fuse, blowing up your battery.

For automotive applications, you don't need to run the negative cable all the way back to the battery, just ground it to the frame.

I agree, the mounting bracket is stupid, as you can't quite get the screwdriver in there parallel to the screw body. I managed but it was hackish.

Use star lockwashers on all connections, especially in automotive applications as the thumbscrews will work themselves loose.

I like the fact that it blips the fans on and off when it starts, that tells you that the unit is working even if you can't see it. - Car Electricity - Car Adapter - Inverter - Ac-dc Converter'

Playstation 3 - hdmi cables, 1080p

I had purposely avoided writing or giving a review to the seller in July of 2009 because I honestly had nothing to say. I cannot review a product I havent really put to the test. Back in July 2009 I ordered about 5 or 8 of these HDMI cables. I had just purchased my Samsung LCD, as well as the entire entertainment center (blu ray, HDMI receiver, PS3, Xbox360, etc) all at once (bought a new condo). When I saw the price of these cables at Best Buy I flipped. Figured Id try the cheapie solution first. Whats the worst that could happen? Id end up losing like $10.00. Who cares.

First I did research on "Brand Name" cables vs cheap ones. Everyone pretty much seems to agree they are all the same except that brand name has amazing marketing and publicity.

I received the cables fairly quickly, they come in cheap plastic baggies. I was excited to use my new TV and the whole shebang and truly hoped these would work as the alternative was spending $500 or so on what I thought were "real cables". I hooked everything up and everything worked fine, no problems, no glitches, no fuzzy or grainy pics, sound quality is amazing (I have a $1200 Klipsch Sound System and a $600 Sony Receiver). I honestly figured the cables would eventually stop working and that Id eventually have to invest in real ones. Well, the other day (its now April 2010) the maintenance guy in my building mentioned buying an LCD TV and that he wasn't sure what to do, as he couldn't afford the $150 Monster Cables. I suggested Amazon.com and told him to look for Eforcity first or Abacus 24-7 (Another great cable seller on here) and this is how I remembered to finally write my review.

10 months later, cables have worked like a charm and you know what? Even if they stopped working now, Id order $10 dollars more and just replace all of them. You are probably wondering why theres a $100 dollar difference between the ones at the store and the ones here... its called "Sorry sucker, you've just been ripped off!"

Kudos to Amazon.com for offering vendors like this guy and I will certainly continue to purchase any cables off of him / them.

Cheers. Eforcity HDMI Cable, 10 feet

Well, as the old adage goes, "You get what you pay for." In this case, I paid about $5 including shipping for this product in November 2008. It's now June 2009 and the cable has given up the ghost.

I had it connected to my 24" Samsung monitor via HDMI out on my PC, and it worked wonderfully for both that and my Blu-Ray player. Last week, however, I started to run into problems. Blue specks were distorting the picture on my monitor and causing the displayed picture to do some really funky things. I suspected it could be my graphics card or monitor, but it turns out it was the cable.

I don't regret purchasing this cable at all because it was such a good price and it lasted for so long. I do have to warn any potential customers, however, that you may have to get a replacement in 6-8 months. This is a cheap cable, and it wasn't manufactured to last as long as ones you will pay more for.

I'm not recommending going with a Monster HDMI cable, but I do have to let you know that a $20 investment in a name-brand or higher quality cable might be in your best interest.

So, I'm back to the 4ft DVI cable that came with my PC, which should suffice for now as DVI and HDMI can send a crisp HD signal to my monitor.

I used this cable to connect a Playstation 3 to a 40" Sony Bravia. At 1080p, the picture is perfect. There are no distortions in the picture or problems with any individual pixels.

It's hard to judge the quality of the materials without taking the thing apart but there's nothing noticably poor in the manufacturing or material quality of the cable. It's pretty plain looking and less attractive than the higher-priced cables but who cares?

When you consider that it gives you the same result as a Monster or Belkin cables that cost 10 to 20+ as much, it's clear that you're getting a lot of value per dollar with this cable. And yes, it also implies the opposite with those higher-priced cables.

My only complaint is that shipping was $1 more than the price of the cable. :-)

Read a lot of reviews on the 6 ft cable decided to by this 10 ft one, had the guys from firedog install but he of course recomended the monster 1000 series 4 meter $199.99. I bought it and this one and I can say that I cant see the difference at all I must have switched back and forth 10 or so times I cant see the difference, I have my xbox and cable connected to a bose v20 connected to a samsung 52 lcd, games look exactly the same with cheap cable vs monster 1000 series unless you have some kind of electron measuring system the human eye cant see any difference....I was told that the difference would be with blu ray and the refresh rate of 120 hz speed. Not sure about that.. - 1080p - Hdmi Cables - Hdtv - Hdmi'

Lock-back Knife - buck knife, excellent value

This is without a doubt the best knife I have ever owned. It arrives sharp and it STAYS sharp. Do yourself a favor and buy this knife. With a lifetime warranty what is not to like. It's not to big and not to small. Perfect !

I was taken back by the size of the Bantam, it is a little small, and it is made in China. But this knife shows no sign of inferior craftsmanship. It came to me razor sharp, and for the price this throw-away is a perfect everyday knife for rugged purposes. I took it out camping with me and carved shotgun slugs out of a tree, cooked and ate steaks with it (Not in that order, of course), I cut and honed branches, turned screws, have pounded it into stumps, and cut open innumerable packages with this and it is still razor sharp with absolutely no nicks. This is a testament to Buck, and whether it be foreign or domestically made, I'm reaching for a Buck, especially this little surprise.

I wanted a knife to carry for those everyday little tasks that always seem to require a sharp edge. This knife was just what I was looking for.

It is a nice size, fits in your pocket without much trouble. It is very light, and seems reasonably well made. It was very sharp when it arrived, and I have been using it for a couple weeks with no sign of dulling yet.

I am not sure how well it would hold up to strenuous use (using it as a prybar), but for the price, who cares.

It passes my one major criterion for a pocket knife- I can open it (and close it) with one hand.

The knife has a nice action- it opens easily, snaps in to a locked position with a reassuring click. It is easy to close without having to put it into a position where you feel like your fingers are at risk.

I am not a real fan of its styling-but a pocket knife is not exactly a fashion accessory.

cheap and sturdy. Does not open quickly, but works well as a EDC knife, small and handy. razor sharp blade.. but it will not stand to any heavy duty task. As a collector i love the shape and design. i call it the baby face assassin...

Just right for your pocket, not to big or small and VERY light.

Well made, locks up solid easy to open and close. I would have

loved a real wood handle but that would make it more costly and

not as light. Just a great value.

I've had this knife for 10 months now. When I first got it it was fairly hard to

open with one had with out your thumb slipping of the stud. It half way opens then

it gets easy to open the rest over the way. The blade had no play from side to side or up and down when new. After 10 months it has gotten some side to side play. The up and down lock up is still

very tight. the tip of the knife is needle sharp. The very tip will bend over and after alot of use it will wear down to a good point. The blade steel is nothing special. It will dull when using it on

hard material (plastics, hard wood, nylon rope, ect) but it sharpens easily in little time.

I really wish it had a pocket clip. Mine falls out of my pocket alot.

Once I loose this one, I'll likely move up to a little better model.

For the price I do believe it to be VERY good and will tackle most daily task with relative ease.

Straightforward knife that is about as big as you would want to go in your pocket. The one hand open is smooth and works well. Lock open is solid. You will likely want to use both hands to close.

This knife is sharp! Eats through cardboard and packing tape. Not for the extra clumsy as I have drawn blood twice with very light pressure (once with the point and once with the edge).

I think I payed around $10 and am almost thinking of grabbing a few more encase I forget to put this in my carry on when I go on my next airline flight. ;-)

Glad I picked it up. Razor sharp out of the box. The handle has a spot for your index finger. It is hard plastic, but has a nice texture. Pick up a bunch and put one in your glove box. Great knife for the price.

This knife is great! It came super sharp out of the box. This knife is the lightest knife I have of all my knives (which is a lot) which makes it great as an everyday carry knife. At first the knife was a little difficult to open because the thumb stud is not fantastic and it was just not very easy to open in general and for that amount of time, it was a two handed knife. After a while the lock softened a bit and I can now open it with one hand. I suggest putting paracord in the slot to access this knife easier rather than digging through your pocket. The value of this knife is EXCELLENT!

I purchased this Buck Lock Blade Pocket knife for my daughters boyfriend as a birthday gift.

He likes the size, light weight, quality blade, and the fact it is a Buck.

A reasonably priced knife made in America. - Buck Knife - Excellent Value - Lock-back Knife - Folding Knife'

Strong - packaging tape, office supplies

I bought the six-pack of tape refills from Amazon 3 months ago, and I stopped using them because they do not work. The tape does not stick to cardboard. I do not know whether it is too old or defective from factory, but the tape just separates from the cardboard. I have tried them on different boxes, and I finally gave up on them. Scotch DP-1000RF6 Packaging Tape, 1.88 Inches x 900 Inches (6-Pack)

There's not much to be said about tape, but I've come to really like this stuff. It takes corners without giving out, holds together seams that are ready to tear apart, and stands up to some serious stress. It's a bit pricey in my opinion, but purchased in bulk, like with this 6 pack, it's a good enough deal. An solid general purpose tape, and excellent for mailing.

I was extremely disappointed in this tape. It does not stick. It has very little holding power. I use Scotch brand tapes all the time. I have never had any trouble until now. Are they re-formulating their tape? This is an inferior product. I don't trust it to hold on any surface. I am throwing it in the trash.

This will be a short review. I have used this tape for packaging stuff for a long time. Scotch makes the best quality tape in my opinion, so while it is more expensive, it also causes fewer headaches for me when putting boxes together, or getting packages ready for shipping. It never starts to peel away from a box in warm weather. I don't need a customer receiving a package that was damaged because I used tape that was a dollar less a roll but is garbage. Yes, there are less expensive brands, but nothing else I've used is as good.

I disagree with the claims here that this tape doesn't stick. I mail lots of packages and use this tape in my Scotch dispenser, and it works beautifully. Perhaps it depends on the kind of surface you're taping, but it works perfectly on cardboard boxes.

I was happy to purchase the tape I use extensively in my e-commerce business at a discount. I have used this as a shipping tape for several years now and continue to seek it out by brand name. I also have the dispenser that I purchased with the first batch of tape. The dispenser (blue/white) is also a handy tool.

Ah, packing up boxes for that summer move? Saving a little money on tape by buying from Amazon?

Buyer beware! You will likely be disappointed by this and other Scotch tapes from ordering the wrong type. This tape is SMALL CORE working only with the small dispensers. I just bought a $22 Scotch Dispenser that doesn't even fit these tapes! Moreover the rolls are tiny! I will spend half the time swapping cores.

Ways in which Scotch will confuse you:

-Proprietary sizes that don't fit other Scotch dispensers. I just bought a tape dispenser that doesn't even fit this tape. If Scotch is going to do so, they need to color code or differentiate so consumers aren't so disappointed.

-Different measurements: this tape is 900" whereas other tape is in yards. What a pain to compare pricing and be sure you have the right amount.

-Confusing different names: which is the cheapo, the midrange, and the top line? I don't know, and after researching here and at Scotchtape.com, I don't think 3M can explain or display their myriad products. If their own website can't clearly explain which tape is which, how is the consumer supposed to?

I now have six worthless rolls of tape, that aren't worth returning due to shipping. Would I be doing Goodwill a disservice by donating such a proprietary product? - Office Supplies - Packaging Tape - 3m - Packaging'

4-port Usb Hub - 4-port usb hub, 4 port

This is a great product at a great price. I bought one of these for my laptop to add to the number of USB ports available. I liked it so much, I bought another for my desktop to simply make the ports more accessible. The supplied cord is plenty long to reach the desktop on the floor and then I simply Velcro'ed the Targus to my desk to make plugging and unplugging USB devices much more convenient. The Targus works right out of the box, no install required and it works on every computer I've tried -- no problems. I must confess, the blue LED's look pretty cool too! Targus 4-Port USB 2.0 Ultra Mini Hub PA055U (Black)

I love this product!I read the reviews of all the hubs and was confused about what would work and what wouldn't and "powered" vrs "un-powered"...So I decided to buy a cheap, un-powered hub and see if it worked and go from there. It works perfectly!I have a 2-yr old PC running Windows 98 second edition.I only have two USB ports and was ready to buy a new PC just to get more ports since every peripheral nowadays uses USB.A friend told me about USB hubs--essentially an extension cord for your USB ports.I plugged-in the Targus (the blue lights are cool), and plugged into the Targus the following--internet cable modem, scanner, DVD burner, and MP3 player. I rebooted (probably not necessary, but it never hurts), and everything is totally cool. Now, I'll get another year out of this PC before I upgrade and I WILL keep the Targus hub--it saved Christmas!

First off, note that Amazon has grouped together reviews from a number of different Targus hubs. That's why you see references to USB 1 versus USB 2, some people with 4 ports and some with 8. This review is for the Targus PA050U USB 2.0 High-Speed Hub (4-port).

The positive:

--It functions. However, almost all USB hubs do that, so that can't really be the basis for a rating.

--I do like the glowing blue lights when a device is plugged in and powered. (And it matches my Saitek Eclipse keyboard, which also has a blue glow. Unfortunately, the hub ended up on my tower underneath my desk because of the cord length, so I can't even see it).

The negative:

--The cord! It's not even three feet! Make sure you measure the distance you'd like your cord to travel before purchasing this hub. It's about 2 feet 9 inches. I wanted to put this hub on my desk, but the cord is not long enough to make it there from the back of the computer. For the price of this hub, I shouldn't have to buy a longer cord.

--It weighs almost nothing, which means it won't stay where you want it to. Plus, the cord it comes with is fairly rigid, which means that the direction of the cord determines where your hub points. I grant that the weight is a positive for those who carry it around with a laptop, but it is not good for someone who wants it to sit somewhere semi-permanently. Another reviewer had the great idea to use velcro; I will have to take that suggestion.

Overall, it does what it's supposed to, but doesn't every hub? The difference is in the details, and this hub's short cord and feather weight are disappointing. Three stars for a desktop user. I'd probably give it four or five stars if I were a laptop user, since the short cord and light wieght would be great.

This is an excellent usb hub for the price. Very compact and very light. It doesn't take up too much space at all. Also, it's powered thru USB so you do not need to deal with an AC adaptor. I have a couple of USB devices that are powered through the USB port as well and my concern was whether they would still be active through this hub. I plugged both into the hub and both were powered up!! And the 4 ports light up with a nice blue led color that's looks really cool!! Targus should show this in their ads/marketing material because it definitely makes the hub look much cooler! This is a great bargain and perfect for people that need a simple & compact USB hub for all their gadgets.Definitely recommended!!

PROS

Small

Cute

Self-powered - comes with a power adaptor. I have 6 devices hooked up to it, including 2 USB Hard Drives, and it works fine without the adapter - a big plus for me. Most hubs would not work with this setup.

USB 2.0 & 1.1 - 6 devices hooked up, 3 low speed and 3 high speed, all work very well.

Runs cool.

CONS

Not sure why, but they put the 7 ports on one side of the hub and power/uplink ports on the other. This is dumb. If you have the hub on a desk it looks awkward. All ports should be on the back and leds on the front. Here, the leds are next to each port which makes them completely useless as you don't see them.

The hub is very light so when you have lots of devices hooked up the font gets a elevated.

Overall, the best hub I've ever had and I tried many.

It's speedy and space saving and inexpensive. I bought this to replace my Belkin because the Belkin needed to be plugged in. This one is powered by your computer so there's no extra power cords, which is a big plus to me.

The only thing I dislike about this is the fact that the Hub takes up two Usb ports instead of just one like the Belkin. - 4-port Usb Hub - Computer - 4 Port - 4 Port Usb Hub'
