Kids Luggage

The luggage is ok. It is cheaply made and my biggest complaint is that the handle doesn't slide up or down easily. I don't know if I can use WD 40 on it because I feel the handle might rust and ruin it altogether. But my son likes it and I don't expect it to last long physically. Multifunction Printer

I bought the Canon imageCLASS MF3240 about a month ago, and so far it has exceeded my expectations. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who is in the market for a multifunction device without the need to print in color. If you prefer getting your digital photos printed by an online or in-store photo processor, a laser multifunction is usually the way to go -- since it's a lower cost per page, it's faster, and the output is better quality than an inkjet.

APPEARANCE/CONSTRUCTION:

You can tell that it's a sub-$200 machine by the construction. Don't expect the same kind of solid feel that you'll get from a much more expensive piece of equipment. A few of the plastic parts feel a little flimsy, like the paper tray. But they all seem to work fine, and I don't have any concerns about durability. Unless you're really tough on your office equipment, you should be ok.

The MF3240 isn't the sexiest looking multifunction out there (if you're looking for a great looking device, try the Canon PIXMA MP830, which uses inkjet technology so you can print in color too). In fact, it kind of looks like a cooler sitting on the desk. But the buttons are laid out logically on the keypad, and from the investigating I've done into a lot of different multifunction devices, the footprint on this one seems to be a reasonable size.

PERFORMANCE:

So far, so good. If you're really a stickler for the highest output possible -- if you need the most crisp, darkest text and flawless images -- this probably isn't the machine for you. Don't get me wrong...the output is very good, borderline excellent. But you can tell that it wasn't printed on a $1,000 heavy-duty laser printer.

This baby is fast! Total time for the first page to arrive in my hand after clicking the Print button (including warmup time) was 13 seconds. It's considerably faster warming up than my old HP laser printer.

It's not the quietest machine I've ever heard, but I wouldn't call it too loud either.

It has a toner saver mode, but I'd call this an annoyance. You're supposed to be able to set the toner saver either directly on the printer control panel or through the printer driver. I've tried a number of times to set up two profiles: one that uses toner saver and another that doesn't. It works sometimes, but other times it'll end up in the wrong mode. Even when I get it to work, I don't notice much of a difference in output between toner saver mode and the regular mode.

I've also been having a minor problem with the fax. I have the MF3240 hooked up to my phone line, and a phone extension hooked into the fax machine. The fax machine is set in Manual mode, so it shouldn't do anything unless I take action on my own. But I've had one or two phone calls on the extension that's hooked up to the fax where the machine hangs up on the person I'm talking to after about 10 minutes! If I can't get this problem to stop, I may end up getting a splitter for the phone line and hooking the phone extension into the line separately.

SOFTWARE:

It comes bundled with a light version of OCR software. I tried it once, and it seemed to recognize every single word on the page I scanned. I was quite impressed -- much better than older versions of OCR I've tried (although I must admit this is the first OCR software I've tried in at least 6-7 years, so I'm sure the technology is much better now).

It also installs a piece of software called Canon Multifunction Toolbox 4.9. This is the most pleasant surprise I've experienced with this printer so far. It allows you to click one button, go through a couple simple settings, and then get a scan and go straight to an e-mail, or straight to a PDF, etc. The smartest feature is that it allows you to pick a target file size, and it'll adjust the resolution to achieve that file size. So it eliminates trying to scan something and then finding out the resulting file is 20MB, then needing to go back and re-scan it at a lower resolution before you e-mail it. You simply pick your target file size (let's say 1MB) and the software will scan your document at the proper resolution to achieve that file size. Very smart!

OVERALL:

Amazon has even knocked ten dollars off the price since I bought it...now it's going for about one hundred fifty bucks...so it's an even better value today. This is a very good multifunction device for light/moderate home or home office use. Given the chance to do it all over, I'd definitely buy the MF3240 again.

UPDATE 9/2010: The Canon Multifunction Toolbox software doesn't work with Windows 7. It's not a huge problem, since you can still use all the main functions of the machine. But you will lose a little functionality, such as the one-touch scanning capability. Canon imageCLASS MF3240 Monochrome Laser All-in-One Printer

Pros:

- Inexpensive (I paid $155.99/free shipping here at Amazon which is amazing considering all the functions I get from this solid machine)

- Good computer printing... it does what a b/w laser printer is supposed to: great on text and ok on graphics. It does a comparable job as my previous HP LJ1100 laser printer. Internal paper tray which holds 250 pages is an improvement over my HP.

- Appropriate scanning result. Good for document archiving purpose. I tried to scan an old color photo and print it in another color inkjet printer. The result is beyond my expectation.

- Copier does what it is supposed to. Pretty easy to operate and configure different settings.

Cons:

- FAX function in general is a dispointment. First, if I connect the printer with my phone (i.e.,in-line or serial), the printer "wakes up" from idle mode whenever I pick up the phone. I have to use a splitter to avoid this nuisance. As a result, I pretty much need to set it to Manual mode for FAX. Also, as other people mentioned, there is no auto feeder for FAX. Fortunately I only use FAX occasionally.

- A little too loud for my taste. I have seen many other models that are much quieter than this.

Bottom line:

If you are like myself who does not use FAX that frequently, you will love this unbelivable bargain. It does everything I used to get done at Kinko's at $156!'

Framing Nailers

I am editing this review a year later (14Apr08) with some revisions

I am a professional builder presently building super high end homes on the lakefront of Lake Tahoe. I have used every framing nailer made. Before I bought this nailer I was a Senco and Hitachi user. I needed another nailer so from the recommendation of another carpenter I went with this model. What sold it to me was that I liked the fact that it had another nosepiece that allowed it to be used for nailing hardware.

I have had this nailer for about 5 months now and it has a few problems.

When it was new it would tend to spark a lot when ever a nail was fired. Now that it is broken in it sparks still but much less. Edit.. It no longer sparks.

There was a part missing in the unopened box. I promptly ordered it from Bostich and it came right away. The part was a vinyl rod that adjusts the magazine for varying thickness nails.

The nailer really hammers the nail hard with a loud smack. I worry that it will wear out the hammer driver sooner. The sound with the Hitachi is much quieter and the Hitachi nailer seems to work with much less recoil when sinking a nail.

The trigger on the Bostich is very finicky and will not fire unless you depress the nose "just so" even with the bounce trigger installed. The Hitachi and Senco is an honest trigger that fires every time you depress the nose. Hitachi users say bad words out of frustration when using this nailer because of the finicky trigger.

The rubber pad on the side has a metal part that surrounds it. The metal part is thin and recently it broke. Since a nailer is often left on the side then this weak and flimsy part is in a very vulnerable spot.

The nose has a spring that can easily snag something and fly away. Without this spring the nailer will not work. I spent a lot of time searching in the powder snow once for this spring when it accidentally ejected.

This nailer does have all the modern features that some nailers lack. It has the directional exhaust port and an easily adjustable nosepiece. It will sink a 16d toenail with the depth adjustment all the way down unlike other nailers. It comes with an accessory nosepiece cover that covers the toenail teeth to prevent marring the wood. The nose cover though will not stay on very well and is easy to lose.

If I had my preference I would use cliphead nailers because the magazine holds more nails and the paper collation does not spit eye damaging pieces like the plastic collated strips for round head nailers. Cliphead nails are getting hard to find as misguided architects spec only round head nails. You must use safety glasses when using any round head nailer. The plastic shards are probably not very good for the environment either.

I give it 3 stars still because it works fine most of the time and the hardware nailing feature is nice to have.

Edit 13Apr08 I give it 4.5 stars now. I like this nailer because it really has a large piston and can completely sink a toenail into hard LVL. I do a lot of framing with LVL and this is the only nailer that will not make you reach for your hammer to finish driving the nail home. I am used to the trigger now and it no longer frustrates me. I did have to take apart the trigger once and clean it. The trigger started to blow air and the nailer would not shoot. A less mechanically inclined person might have sent it to the shop for a repair. No parts were very worn, it just needed a cleaning. The broken part on the side bumper has not been a problem. This nailer has held up well so far. I frame about a third of the time so this nailer has about 6 months of heavy use behind it now. Bostitch F21PL Round Head 1-1/2-Inch to 3-1/2-Inch Framing Nailer with Positive Placement Tip and Magnesium Housing

I'm currently using this sucker to frame my garage. I bought Hitachi plastic collated nails for it. It took me a bit to sort it out, but I was able to find 21 degree full round head nails at Lowes. I've been sticking with the Hitachi nails even though there are cheaper brands - the quality is good.

I used 0.131" diameter 21 degree plastic collated nails, 3 1/4" in length, for all of my framing. I was able to blast a bunch of 2x6's together in no time.

I then used 0.131" diameter 21 degree plastic collated nails, 2 3/4" in length, for all of my sheathing. The nailer handled both of these with ease. I can set the depth so I don't go splintering my OSB with too deep of a punch.

I am currently using the trigger that only allows one shot per pull. I like this feature as I don't go machine-gunning 3 nails on top of one another if I slip during the shot. Sometimes it is a little finicky, as you have to get the tip compressed just-so before you pull the trigger, or it will give you a disappointing "pphhh" and no nail. It also seems to have about a 50% ratio of actually firing the last nail in the clip. A lot of times it misses the last nail altogether. I did jam it once with the 2 3/4 nails because I inserted a partially used clip. The uneven break in the plastic collation misaligned the nail and the piston jammed the nail in the barell. I fixed it with a small screwdriver.

It's pretty light for its size. Some friendly helpers I had with the initial framing all remarked at the size of this thing. It looks big and beefy. You'll have a bit of trouble fitting it between studs that are 16" apart - it's a little bulky in tight spaces. For toe-nailing and mating studs together, I had to shoot at an angle. That's when the tip is most finicky, so you have to brace it on the back with one hand while you pull the trigger. At 90 psi or so it might not fully sink the nail on an angled shot like that. At 120 psi it sinks everything. It's kind of scary. My gun came with a protective rubber tip that is handy for things that you don't want to blemish, but without the rubber tip, the cleated gun is much easier to use for angled shots because the tip bites into the wood.

These problems are avoidable if you are careful. A nail gun is an amazing piece of machinery, as I am surprised that with the violence of each shot it doesn't go blowing apart after a few shots. Yet this thing will shoot and shoot as long as I pay attention to the clip, keep it oiled, and set it aside so I don't trip over it. I've dropped it off the ladder twice and it hasn't complained. It's also nice that you can direct the exhaust in multiple directions, as each shot will create a fine oily mist that you can feel on your arm, hand, leg, or whatever. That's just how it works with air tools. At least you can shoot it away from your face. Also, the rubber grip on the handle is slipping around slowly as I use it. That's kind of irritating, especially when it's hot, because the rubber will slide up and bunch up underneath the trigger. Eventually it will probably fall off with enough use. Could probably use a redesign.

On a final note, I bought this thing used from another online auction site that you can probably guess. It was well used before I got it and it's still kicking. For what I paid for it, I'm quite satisfied. I'd probably still be happy with it if I bought it new for a higher price.

Edit 9/6/07: I've been using the metal connector attachment. This thing is pretty handy if you are using Simpson Strong Ties or a similar metal connector for your framing. Most of the Simpson products require a 1.5" nail (so that it doesn't penetrate the other side of 2x lumber) and this gun won't go that small. I've used the 2 1/4" nails when I'm shooting into a junction or multiple pieces. It makes the work go much faster, otherwise you are stuck with a hammer. The tip for metal connectors has a triangular aligning piece that allows you to line up the nail with the hole in the connector. It works really well but be warned - the smaller the nail the better the chance that this thing will misfire. I had much more trouble with the 2 1/4" nails than the bigger framing nails. Also, I glanced off the connector more than once and shot a bent nail bouncing around all over the place - not like a bullet but enough to be dangerous. The metal connector work is much more sensitive to alignment so be careful. Also - be careful about lining up your shot, especially if you are using one hand to brace boards before you shoot. That nail doesn't care if your hand is on the other side of the board when you pull the trigger. I managed to nick my thumb pretty good at about nail number 2,327 during a 10 hour day. Not bad odds - but you'll be better off if you are constantly aware.

Edit 7/12/08: My F21PL is still going and my garage is pretty much done except for electrical and painting. I took this thing up in my attic to build a knee wall around the perimeter so that I could install foam backer board to keep insulation from spilling out onto my soffits. My attic is full of old fiberglass blown-in insulation, so it's nasty and dusty up there. I used my nailer for a few days and it stopped working. After messing with it I figured I had gotten dust inside and perhaps ruined a seal. I finished framing my knee wall with the Bostitch palm nailer (see other review on here - great little tool). I was able to download a rebuild kit from the Bostitch website instantaneously. There are also blow-up diagrams of all of their tools. I bought several rebuild kits and downloaded the diagram, and I was able to successfully rebuild the nailer and get it functioning again. I expect that with my rebuild kits I will keep this nailer going for the rest of my life. Great product support.'

Cable Organizers - ties, velcro

First let me say that these velcro cable wraps are great for their intended purpose, especially if you will not be adjusting them very often after you have secured your cables. I had purchased the Velcro One-Wrap Straps, 8" x 1/2", 5 Pack from Office Depot for about $4 a few years ago to tame my microphone and guitar cables and I love them. When I found these straps (100 pack) for under $10 I jumped at the opportunity to buy them, but was a bit disappointed when compared to the 5-pack, as these are considerably thinner and have much smaller "hooks" and "loops" so they do not stay as secure as the former straps (-1 star). Also, since I use them for gigs I am constantly adjusting them and so far two have ripped at the through-hole (-1 more star) which has yet to happen with my 3+ year old straps. If you are looking for a convenient way of securing your cables and do not intend to subject them to heavy use, then I highly recommend them, however if you are planning on using them a lot (i.e. for highly used audio cables) then I would recommend buying the larger heavy duty multicolor 5 pack instead. Velcro Reusable Self-Gripping Cable Ties, 0.5 Inches x 8 Inches Long, Black, 100 Ties per Pack (91140)

The solution to wayward cabling couldn't be simpler. Wrap one or more cables together with an adjustable Velcro strap. It does what it should, is simple to apply, and is affordable.

The only negative aspect of the Velcro solution is that it will pick up dust and lint from your surrounding environment which will obviously render the Velcro less 'attachable' to itself over time, if you re-adjust or change the straps. However, in the $10-$15 price range for a hundred of these, you really can't go wrong and buying more if you have to throw old cluttered ones away is reasonable.

I'd advise this method over zip-ties or twisty-ties in a heart-beat.

Have you ever used zip-ties to hold cables in place? How about twist-ties or those long cable "tubes"?

If you've ever had to deal with these, you know how difficult they can be, and when you're done you just never want to touch them again (as it means either bringing out the scissors for the zip-ties or un-tubing about a mile of wires.

I picked up the 100-pack of these to try and clear out the mess behind my home theater, and it worked out great!

The cable ties are a good size and the velcro is wonderful (to note: its not the "normal" velcro you find, it doesn't even feel like velcro, but it works just as good as the other stuff!) One nice thing is being able to "wrap" the tie around itself (so there is no loose end hanging off of it).

As mentioned by another reviewed, these come in "rolls", so you have to unwrap (and tear off) pieces. Not a big hassle, and probably better than a bunch of loose velcro pieces thrown in a bag (they'd stick together).

While easier to remove than zip-ties (and these do a much better job), it's still a bit of a challenge at first (since the connector sticks to itself - after doing a few you'll get the hang of it). For anyone with a home-theater, this is perfect! Bundle any AC cords, speaker wire or A/V connectors into a ball. Also works for other corded equipment that you might normally put away (such as a Rockband microphone).

The only thing I can say is better about the "other stuff" out there, is that the plastic-tubing is still needed if you want to conceal wires. These will keep the wires together, but it still looks like a long string or cables. The 100-pack is more than enough for doing a computer room (with loads of accessories) and a home-theater (8 speakers, TV, receiver and about 6-7 devices). They sell a 50-pack for a little less, but you might want to go for the 100-pack just to have some in the future.

The only negative thing I can say, is that buying these made me go around and have to cut-off all of the old zip-ties I was using before!

These are not as high-quality as the multi-colored ones you get at Home Depot in packs of 5... but for the price they are a great value. My band is going on tour with our own PA and lights. I bought these and they're now wrapped around every kind of cable imaginable and holding up great. Highly recommend these.

These Velcro ties are very handy and with 100 ties, it is quite a good value. The Velcro holding strength is fairly weak, however, compared to some other Velcro ties I've used. Still, I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a fairly inexpensive way to wrap up cables. - Reusable - Cable Organizers - Ties - Velcro'

Drill Accessories - drill press, drill accessories

I was surprised to find that there is a paucity of drill attachments for handhelds to help drill straight holes. This one does a fair job of addressing the problem.

The chuck is 3/8", so larger bits will not work. Assembly is straightforward, as the handheld drill attaches to the top spindle and rides on two springed rods.

The base is not too steady as it's not completelty flat. There are too many allowances for screws and the like that make the base unstable. The handle works somewhat, but it can rock a bit while drilling.

The chuck is keyed. A keyless would have been nicer. It also has about 1/16" play, which means that the hole is not exactly at the center. The depth stop is collar that can be tighetened on the rod.

The springs on the rod are fairly hard, perhaps too hard. Furthermore, the depth stop stops the drill when the springs are completely compressed, requiring quite a bit of force, all while trying to hold the base steady. I removed the springs and it works much better.

This guide does a better job of drilling a straight hole than just doing so freehand, but is no replacement for a drill press. The concept is fine, but it needs some redesigning to work better. A DIY fix would be to attach a larger base to the bottom. Wolfcraft 4525404 Drill Guide Attachment for 1/4-Inch or 3/8-Inch Drills

I like using this and it certainly improves the drilling and makes possible angles and such. It does take a little preparation, but for the money, it's an economic way to get good work done without having a drill-press. I'd also like to add that it is a little bulky, and I wasn't able to use it in a tight location like I'd hoped, but that simply means you need to plan for that.

CONS:

1. The two top screws tend to loosen when your drill is making a little bit much vibration due to the nature of whatever you're drilling. You have to tight them after every hole you make, or the angle will change.

2. It's hard to handle it when it's connected with the drill, because it weights almost the same as the drill. I think they should've made it a little lighter.

3. For aiming, you have to press a few times before getting to the right place so you can begin to drill. A laser beam would've helped a lot.

4. It's very hard or impossible to drill a hole near the edge of a wood sheet, I had to mount it in a piece of wood to get the work done.

PROS:

1. There's nothing like it in the market. So it solves a lot of my needs.

2. Fairly accurate, much better than drilling with your bare hands.

3. Fair price, not too expensive.

I didn't tested other angles besides 90ª.

This guide would not replace a drill press. But it will definitely help with keeping the drill square to the surface, and there is an area where it is actually works better. Try drilling a hole square to the wall overhead with your drill press !

For more precise drilling, you want to drill a pilot hole, use a brad bit, and go slowly. Again, it's not a drill press, but it is definitely an improvement over drilling freehand.

On a negative side, the guide has somewhat excessive play in the chuck, and a tight fit for larger (corded) drills.

This is the second drill guide I have used. I used it to drill a number of holes through some pretty stiff hardwood and locations for bench dogs in my workbench. The holes came out sufficiently straight for my needs, probably could have made it more accurate had I screwed the base to a larger platform first. While I can see the springs could be handy for some purposes, they compress to three inches or so. Thus reducing the overall depth one can drill, although they can be easily removed in need be.

Overall it seems decently designed without any obvious flaws and seems robust enough to last a while. My only complaint is that there is no place to store the chuck key, would have been nice if they had included on on the base or crossbar when not needed.

I think if the designers of this product try then they can definitely improve the design. It has a good concept but does need further improvement. The problems are with the assembly and then with readjustment of the angle. Make sure to read the instructions before you try to assemble it. The instructions make the assembly less daunting. The thing seems to come apart if you loosen the bars from the top to try to adjust the angle or try to fold it for storing it. Funny thing is that the instructions first tell you how to put it togethor with the springs. Then it tells you to take them out.

Once I had it figured out and set then it worked ok and I think was quite useful.

I am very surprised that there are only two such products available and both very similar. An ideal product would be something similar to a drill press that would not use a additional chuck.

Kind of flimsy. Works OK with a light-cordless drill. Wobbles a lot I use one of the heavier ones, ending up with imprecise drilling. Gave up on it and hand-drilled the rest (slower but with the same level of precision!). So, if you want precise drilling go for a proper drill press.

I bought this to drill multiple shallow holes in the vertical sides of an entertainment center to use shelf pins for maximum shelf adjustability. For drilling the same holes repeatedly and wanting them the same this is just not the best tool. As stated by others the springs are too stiff, especially for a large number of holes (80) which will wear your arms out. The instability of the base combined with the lean "flex" of the guide rods caused as you apply the extra pressure you have to because of the springs make the difference between drilling by hand and using this device basically undetectable. I would have to say, if you're not that concerned, just drill by hand and if you want anywhere near precise, get a drill press of a better intermediate attachment. - Chuck - Drill Press - Drill Accessories - Milescraft'

Major League Baseball - st louis, cardinals

I bought this for my 4 yo daughter for Easter. She is an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and loves getting Cardinals things. She had a bit of difficulty getting the arms to stick in on her own and I was disappointed that there is no storage place (like in the original mr. potato head) for the extra pieces. She lost interest in playing with it fairly quickly, but I am not disappointed with the product. It will be nice to keep as a collectible. MLB St. Louis Cardinals Mr. Potato Head

This item was purchased for an adult male who collects St. Louis Cardinal memorabilia. I found it extremely hard to buy unique, fun MLB collectables for someone who has so many. This purchase was perfect for him and reasonably priced.

The Mr Potato head in the team gear is a fantastic idea and it looks exactly as pictured. I am giving it as a gift next week and I'm sure the cardinals fan will enjoy it. Speedy shipping - good product - no issues!

I loved this. My husband is a die hard cardinal fan and was so pleased at this surprise "extra" bday gift. It was a success and now I have to purchase another for my stepson b/c he loves the Cardinals too.

This is a great desk topper for the St. Louis Cardinals fan. It has interchangeable arms with a bat or glove, and features both batting and fielding caps. It is smaller than the standard Potato Head, but still features well at work.

On a side note, this toy featured a left handed Mr. Potato Head, as the gloved arm is the right arm. Who knew! - St Louis - Cardinals - Baseball - Major League Baseball'

Replacement Wiper Blades - replacement wiper blades

The Rain-X Latitude wipers are my favorite wiper blades. When the Repel came out, I decided to give them a try. In spite of thoroughly cleaning the windows and carefully following the "activation" directions, the windows do not act as if I had applied a layer of the classic Rain-X fluid. It isn't as if these are "bad" wipers, they only work as good as the Latitude do for twice the price without any advantage. Rain-X Repel Premium Bracketless Wiper Blade - 21"

Got this for my 2011 Acura MDX. It fits well, works good but it is not a perfect fit - when you drive on the highway at 60-70mph, the wiper will "float" away from the windsheild resulting in incomplete wipes. Other than that, it is all good, and light years better than the original, cheap, crummy windshild wiper that STREAKS after using it for only 1+ months.

Installed in minutes and was very easy. Wiper did not contact all of the winshield resulting in incomplete wiping. Wiper presure had to be increased by forming the wiper arm towards the winshield. Works very well after adjustment. New blade is thicker and heavier than the one it replaced which is why it required the extra pressure. - Replacement Wiper Blades'

Dr Scholls - dr scholls

I had broken my foot and tried pretty much every arch support in the pharmacy. In the past, I've had custom formed orthotics for broken feet (I seem to always come down on someone else's foot when I play basketball or volleyball, which never seems to hurt them but is hard on me). This time I wanted to avoid the hassle and expense of custom supports, if possible. Most of the pharmacy types, including the various Dr. Scholl's models, are fairly effective, but these are the best, with either the "firm" or "medium" supports selected (the pack gives you a choice of 3 different levels of firmness for each foot). The different arch inserts pop in and out very easily, yet stay in reliably, and the arch supports hug the bottom of shoes nicely. These aren't as good as custom orthotics, but they seem to be the next best thing. Dr. Scholl's Adjustable Arch Pain Relief, Women's Size 6-10 1 pr

I have tumors on my ligaments (at the arch) as well plantar fasciitis all from my many years of dance. I have shots into my ligatments to make the pain calm and I have custom orthodics that I paid nearly $500 about 8 years ago. The custom orthodics make my tumors flare up to the point that they swell so much they turn purple, my podiatrist suggested I try a store bought gel orthodic that will still give my high arches support. I was hesitant since I had paid so much, but when I got these I didnt know what I had been missing, I love that there are levels to the arch height, my tumors have little to no tumor flare up, and they are really really comfortable. They are simply devine!

I have been using Dr. Scholl's Adjustable Arch supports for years. Can't seem to find them locally any more so ordered them off line. My left foot was seriously injured about 13-14 years ago. I tried other orthotics, but couldn't get comfortable until I tried these. These are all I have been wearing since. Love them and highly recommend them.

When I was having metatarsal pain, my podiatrist sent me to go buy the Scholl's custom fit orthotics. While these definitely do the job, they are kind of pricey at $50 a pair. These adjustable arch supports work pretty well (not AS well) but only cost me about a fifth as much. This is much more appealing when you want to have several pairs to put in different shoes.

My plantar facitis was kicking up and my couple hundred dollar specialty store inserts were doing NOTHING to relieve the pain. I bought these and seem to be on the mend! They offer nice arch support but not so radical as to make you want to get off of them in a few hours. The cushioning is very nice if you have to be on your feet for extended periods of time. My feet feel much better and I have returned to buy MORE. - Dr Scholls'

Step Platforms - step aerobics, step platform

This product is OK. It is not quite as big as I expected it to be. It does serve its purpose and I can use it easily in a small space. You just have to be careful and watch where you step. If you are used to using the bigger gym size steps it is easy to miss the step. The Step F1053 Home Trainer

I needed a small step so I could work out in my carpeted office during my lunch break (ah, the life of a busy working parent!). This is just the right size for that purpose. It's sturdy, even though, as other reviewers noted, the platform does not lock onto the risers--I've jogged up and down on it, jumped on and off, with and without the risers, and it doesn't move. Its only fault is that it makes a pretty loud noise as you step on it because it's hollow. I'm trying to figure out how to dampen the sound so I don't bother people in adjacent offices. I should have bought the two-riser model, though. Just remember, this is a smaller model than those used in gyms.

I was concerned that this step would be too small since I am used to the steps found at my local gym but thankfully it was smaller because any larger would have made it too big to use in my apartment. Surprisingly, I had no trouble adjusting to the size of the step and I really enjoy using it. I recommend this product for those who want to enjoy a workout at home but their living space is limited.

This is not the highest quality step but it works fine for me. I like the smaller size. It's easy to store but not so small that I feel unstable. The DVD that comes with it is also great for beginning or intermediate steppers. It feels a little cheap compared to gym steps but, considering the price, I am happy with it.

Good stepper for the money-I would like a stepper a little longer for some of us that are taller and when doing certain steps, you feel you may not have enough room. Thought it would be wobbly since the stps do not lock in, but no problem thus far.

I am a 67 year old male and feel I need daily cardio exercise to remain in good health. I can only attend step aerobic classes at the fitness center where I have a membership two times a week because of the times when they are offered. Consequently I ordered the step F1053 Home Trainer package from Amazon two years ago to complete my workout schedule. It arrived very quickly and came packaged with a DVD containing workout routines, a solid plastic non-slip workout (aka stepping) board and a riser for each side. The workout routines are, in my opinion, very well done. There are two 45 minute sessions, a basic session and an intermediate session. Each routine is choreographed to music and is demonstrated and explained very well. I find that either routine gives me a very good work out. I found the step board to be made from an almost non-destructible plastic material that has a non skid and non slip surface. I am very satisfied with this product and would highly recommend it to anyone who has the need for exercise in their home.

I got it today and already used it. its pretty ok. it makes a bit of noise and thats because of the risers. other than that its pretty good. dont get it if you need to do alot of walking across of the step because its not very long. i used it to do the kim kardashian butt blast cardio

This step is similar to the gym's but a smaller version for home use. The step is fine but if you are buying it and thinking that you are getting a great combo deal; this is not the item. The CD case looked as if it was reproduced and to my surprise when I opened it, an imitation cd was in the case. It was a clear plastic cd look alike with a label affixed to it. There is no cd. And yes, this was purchased new.

If you are petite and have a small shoe size then this step works. For those of us with longer feet this platform is too small which makes it very difficult to work out because it is difficult to position your feet safely. The exercise video is great though - Step Platforms - Step Aerobics - Fitness - Step Platform'

Torch

Great product, its really good for soldering or pretty much anything else you'd need a torch for, easy to use, It has a adjustable flame which is pretty usefull if you dont want to waste fuel. All around great tool and good price, its worth every penny. Weller ML200 Magna-Lite Butane Table-Top Torch

I could not get an adequate flame even with it at maximum setting, and it completely quit within a month of use. I replaced it with a $10 pencil torch that works much better even though it does not have an igniter and I have to use a lighter or stove. I absolutely cannot recommend this product. I have had many butane torches over the years, and this was hands down the worst I've purchased. Even the $5 gift store torch-style lighters will last longer and perform better than this.'

Deep V-neck

My Three Dots Night Sky Leggings were a clever purchase - I had to wade through all the legging choices to get to these ones, but they turned out great. Because of the quality & weight of fabric, the fit is better than most, and I feel they make your legs look more attractive, and that was needed in my case. Thumbs up from me!
