Disney Pixar Cars - mattel, disney pixar cars

The only reason I bought this car is because my daughter's name is Holley...spelled the same way, and she was super excited that a cars character had her same name and spelling. The car is still in the box which is fine. Just wish I had not paid so much for something that is not getting played with Disney / Pixar CARS 2 Movie 155 Die Cast Car #5 Holley Shiftwell

I love Disney movies. And now I'm a fan of the Pixar films. I have Cars on DVD and almost the cast toys. I'm doing the same for Cars 2. She's still boxed for now. I have 5 from C2. And a few to go for Cars then I'm done. - Disney Pixar Cars - Mattel'

Toro Mower

My first warning should have been the the title which should have been its price. The depth of this pamphlet almost equals a weak 6th grade term paper.

My second warning should have been the published length. The content includes eight "chapters" each with 15 to 20 lines of print totaling couple hundred words.

I cannot imagine someone that needs to pay this much for this little.

My third warning should have been the almost 200 people who felt a need to re-sell this to someone else. I am not one of them, only because I felt that course morally not acceptable. Of all the things I have purchased from Amazon that did not quite fit my needs, this is the first one that made me feel really cheated. Selling something that may not fit everyones needs may fall under "let the buyer beware". Selling something that you cannot imagine anyone could ever find of value is like "digging a pit for your neighbor" and then covering it with straw. But offering to resell this to another victim is a separate and even sadder issue.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. You now have my four warnings. The Free Household Tips Guide To Lawnmowers'

Garage Storage Platform Lift Hoist - storage, garage storage

After shopping for a garage ceiling storage system, I purchased this device. I was attracted to the ability to raise and lower the platform to load and unload items. This avoids the obvious pitfalls of using a ladder to hoist large or heavy items up from the ground.

In summary, I am reasonably happy with the overall product with some exceptions mentioned below. However, I will caution potential buyers that the design of this device is unforgiving. Unless your ceiling joists are EXACTLY 48" apart (they can be 1.5" less but not more than 48"), installation will be no where near as easy as the video on the website. You may need to mount this to a rigid board first if your joists are not 48" apart. The axle is not made to be adjustable and I find this to be a major design flaw of the device.

The foundation of the system includes 3 heavy metal grates that are secured to two metal cross beams with J hooks. I had a little trouble aligning the J hooks with the holes on the metal beams. However, by far, the most trouble I had was with securing the system to the ceiling. I really did not want to mount this to a board before securing it to the ceiling for aesthetic reasons. My ceiling joists were about 49" apart (instead of 48") and this created a VERY problematic installation. You need to secure this into wood (and not just the ceiling drywall) and you cannot mount the arms of the device further than 48" apart as the axle will not be long enough. I ended up lengthening the axle by a few inches by screwing both halves of the axle together with only the first set of holes. The two halves of the axle are supposed to come together with one inside the other aligning two sets of holes on each piece. I only went as far as the first set thus making it a little longer. Then I bought some aluminum 1/2 inch metal from a hardware store and reinforced the axle by screwing it to two sides of the axle. Keep in mind that the axle is not completely load-bearing so as long as it is rigid and reinforced, the system will work fine (see my uploaded picture of the lengthened and reinforced axle).

Problems continued when I used the included hardware lag bolts to screw the arms into the ceiling joists. Using a drill, I pre-drilled the holes as instructed and used a socket wrench to screw the lag bolts to the joists. I torqued 4 of the heads off of the cheap lag bolts. Do yourself a favor and go buy some better lag bolts at a hardware store before installing this device. The included lag bolts are totally inferior. After finishing the installation, it worked as described and I loaded it with a few hundred pounds of things I had previously kept on my garage floor. I will also mention that using the included crank device to raise and lower the platform, while not overly difficult, is a good work out.

Overall, I would recommend this product IF you know your joists are no further than 48" apart (or you are comfortable mounting it to a board first) and you go buy some decent lag bolts before trying to secure it to the ceiling. Racor PHL-1R Pro HeavyLift 4-by-4-Foot Cable-Lifted Storage Rack

I just finished my install today. Plan on at least 4 hours for this project. The joist do not have to be EXACTLY 48" as other reivews stated. That is the MOST the distance can be. You can be as close as 46 1/2. There is play in the bar that attaches the two ends.

Here's my contribution to make this easy and keep it a one person job. Get a 4 foot piece of 1 1/4 lattic piece of trim. You can find it at any big box hardware store. This will be used as your template when drilling holes.

I have a finished ceiling Before getting started, I used the 4' lattice to outline the joist. Instead of using a stud finder, which doesn't always work, I just use a finish nail to find the edges of the joist which are 1 1/2" wide. I marked the joist at one end and measured 48" down then found the edges of the joist. I put the lattice between these marks on both ends, then traced the lattice with a pencil

In step 7, you notice the only indicate 7 bolts to be installed, but 9 in step 8. You have to remove the nylon rings in order to reach all 9 bolts, but this isn't mentioned. With the nylong rings off and the arm sitting on top of the lattice piece of wood, mark all the slots in the middle with a pencil. Make sure to mark the center of the T-bracket, too. This is critical for hanging the arms by yourself.

Since the pre-drill hole size is 1/8, make the template holes one size larger at 3/16 with a drill. With the template, use a wood screw in the center template hole to temporarily attach to the joist so you have both hands free to line up the lattic to the trace marks I mentioned before. Now drill the pre-drill holes with the 1/8 bit.

The manual doesn't mention this but there are those keyhole type of holes in the middle part of the arm. BEFORE you grab the arm in step 7, but the first lag bolt in the middle pre-driller hole, leaving about 1 1/2 inch. Now pick up the arm and angle it over the lag bolt in the middle. It takes a little wiggling, but it will eventually slide in. Now tighten the lag bolt, but not 100% Now the joist is hanging hands free from one lag bolt. Now, you are free to mount the other lag bolts by yourself.

The stock lag bolts are junk. I shredded two when installing. I did install the stock lags so I could line up the two arm properly, but came back later with high quality lags of qty. 12 5/16" with a 3 1/2 length lag bolts. Trying to enlarge this existing gaps don't work very well. What I recommend is drilling BETWEEN the existing slots. First use a smaller bit to get thru the metal easier and create a pre-drill hole. I think I used a 3/16". Then I used a slightly larger bit like a 7/16" to cut a hole to allow it pass thru the new hole in the metal. Make sure you use eye protection and cover your forearms. The metal shaving are burning hot! Don't attach the 5/16" lags until Step 9 alignment is done. - Storage - Lift - Garage Storage - Racor'

Ipod Alarm Clock - docking stations, alarm clock

I purchased this alarm clock for my 14 year old. We have tried numerous other alarm clocks for her, even the ones with the bells on top that clang. She has slept through them all, sometimes even when they go off for 30 minutes near her head. This year she started high school and has to get up much earlier. The iLuv has woken her up much more quickly than any other alarm clock! I no longer have to get up and drag her out of bed. I would recommend this for sound sleepers! iLuv iMM153WHT Dual Alarm Clock with Bed Shaker for your iPod - White

Here is the rundown:

Pros:

+Docked flawlessly with my iPod nano 5g.

+All buttons worked.

+Ability to have auxiliary input.

+Wake up bed shaker is a nice touch. (and it has a very long cord)

+Alarm is a beep that gets louder over time (and can be used in concordance with the bed shaker)

+Can customize both alarms to incorporate different alarm types (ie. Shaker and beep, shaker and playlist, etc)

Cons:

-Sound was absolutely unbearable with any bass (even with ipod EQ settings set to bass reducer)

-Wake up bed shaker is not as strong as I hoped it to be.

-Product "feels" cheap (thin plastic, cheap buttons).

-Time setting is clumsy and difficult, why not just have it sync to the atomic clock (my $15 walmart clock did that)

-There are two bass "holes" in the back that appear to do nothing (I don't hear anything coming from them)

-Many comparable docks have remotes included. This does not.

-The screen does not look like it does in the image. It has a bright blue backlight.

Bottom Line:

This is great if you want an alarm clock with multiple alarm features that will also charge your iPod. You should not get this if you want to listen to music on it.

Why I gave it 2 stars:

I got this so I could listen to my iPod while I go to sleep. The sound quality is so unbearable that I stopped using it. It still has nice alarm features, but is overpriced for what I wanted.

A great concept let down by a few design flaws.

My intent for buying a new alarm clock was two-fold:

1) To enable me to set an alarm which would wake me, without disturbing others

2) To have a way to dim the clock so it would not disturb my sleep with too much light in the room.

Having this connect to an iPod Nano was a bonus.

The first thing that impressed me from the specs on this alarm clock was the bed shaker. Now, take note, this says Bed Shaker - and it truly is. Anyone sleeping on the same matress will feel their skull vibrating almost as much as yours, even when you place the vibrating disc under your pillow. 9/10 points for effort - 4/10 points for implementation

The second thing that persuaded me to this model was that it appeared, from reading through the reviews that the brightness on the clock was settable from 0 (no backlight) to 9 (bright enough to read a book by). This seemed great as this would allow me to have the backlight off for sleeping and adjust it if/when I needed to read the clock... However, the implementation of this is a fatal flaw for me with this product. Let me explain in detail:

a) The brightness change requires you to set a new overall brightness level; so if you are at 0 you click the Dimmer/Snooze button and it goes to 1. To turn the light off you have to click the button another 9 times to cycle back to 0. This is awkward, though is way surpassed by the loud clicking made by the cheap switch which wakes anyone else not wearing earplugs...

b) Insult is added to injury with the design of the Dimmer/Snooze button. Imagine you're sleeping with the backlight off (Dimmer 0) and the alarm occurs - you hit the button to increase the brightness, but it's a joint-function Dimmer/Snooze button... So, the alarm snoozes - and no matter how many times you hit the dimmer/snooze button again, to turn the brightness up to see the time, nothing happens. It appears the the clock is in "alarm mode". The only way to see the clock is to fumble for the alarm off button, turn off the alarm permanently and then hit the Dimmer/Snooze button again to now increase the backlight on the clock to level 1.

I know, and apologise, if this appears like a rant - and maybe my unit is faulty as the Dimmer 1 setting is incredibly bright and disturbing to sleep.

On the brighter side. The iPod functionality works well, even on the new iPod nanos, and the speakers are ok - definitely not hi-fi, but for a bedside table to listen to music whilst reading a book, they are adequate.

Anyway, please take the review as is, and if you we looking to an alarm clock with similiar prerequisites steer clear of this one. I wish/hope that these flaws are corrected and welcome any feedback to highlight better alternatives.

Hope this helps,

I personally don't regret getting this alarm clock, there are some downsides but they are easily negligible.

Pros:

-The bedshaker and alarm is very effective

-The sound quality of the speakers is decent

-The time on the clock is clear

-The alarm clock is multipurpose, can serve as a speaker system for your laptop or computer if you desire

-The radio is pretty good, the antenna is small and can provide decent service

-You can change the brightness of the screen display

-iPods work in general, and this clock charges it

-You can use it without an AC adapter by batteries

-Snooze button is easy to access when you're dead asleep

Cons:

-It is confusing to use at first, you might adjust to the controls

-The buttons are very loud, so you might disturb the other person if you share your room

-iPhone 3G shows up as not compatible for some reason, but you can charge it perfectly

-May cause problems in your iPod if you use sleep

-Bit overpriced

In all, this alarm clock is good, but there are small things that can be fixed. It's a bit overpriced, but I really liked the design which brought me to buy it. Amazon has some of the price slashed then if you bought from the original company. - Ipod Alarm Clock - Alarm Clock - Docking Stations - Clock Radio'

Floor Nailer - hardwood floor nailer, floor nailer

Have no fear in purchasing this nailer. This nailer is very well made and buying one vs renting one made more sense to me.(At $40-$50 per day to rent). I am installing Brazilian Walnut 3/4" by 2 1/4" solid hardwood flooring. This wood is 185% harder than oak. This nailer had no problem driving the nails. I purchased the "L" shaped cleat nails at my local Lowes. This is my first attempt at installing a wood floor. One tip for DIY'ers, practice on a scrap piece of flooring, I had to adjust the air pressure on my compressor to 90 psi. Also when hitting the nailer with the rubber mallet you need a nice firm swing, not to hard, not to soft, a few practice hits and you will get it. Now about the seller, great service, nailer arrived in 1 week, nailer is exactly as described, was delivered by Fedex in perfect condition. What sold me on buying from this seller was their great price and the fact that they did not charge an inflated shipping rate. To all readers of this review, Good Luck in you flooring project. Akuzuki Contractor Pro Series Dual Hardwood Floor Cleat Nailer and Stapler

I purchased this nailer for use when installing 640 square feet of strand bamboo flooring, in conjunction with Bostich 'L' cleat flooring nails Bostitch FLN-150 1-1/2-Inch Flooring L-Nails, 1000-Per Box. As expected to use the tool over the course of days, with an eye toward utility for future projects, I chose to buy a nailer rather than rent.

Pros:

1. heavy-duty feel

2. budget price

3. changeable baseplates for different thickness flooring

Cons:

1. two of the four allen screws that hold on the base plate simply refused to budge and stripped in the process of trying to remove them to change the plate- completely rendering useless the feature of changeable baseplates for various flooring thickness. (no worries- I added strips of duct tape to suit my 5/8" bamboo strips) This is a manufacturing quality issue. Either the screws should have been properly torqued, or should not have been installed at all, leaving that to the purchaser.

2. Halfway through the flooring project, the unit began to leak air through the head. Not a lot, just a whisper- but enough to cycle my compressor and make me wonder about the tool's longevity.

Despite the cons, it drove the cleats flawlessly and never misfired. I would purchase this again, given the price and balancing the use I would get from it Vs. renting costs.

UPDATE -01/2010

After having written my review I received a very nice, and unsolicited, note from the manufacturer. They were kind enough, based upon my review, to fully repair the small issues I was having with my tool. When was the last time a manufacturer rung you up and offered to fix what was wrong with your tool without having to spend hours on hold or navigating a phone tree? THAT is customer service, folks. Got the tool back in double time: baseplate screws fixed, and rebuilt with new seals. I tried it immediately and it performed flawlessly, as it was before. (remember, it performed perfectly before, with no misfires, even when the nails ran out of the magazine) It is rare indeed to find a company willing to stand behind their product these days, let alone to this extent. I am impressed. Curious to know whether new buyers experience too-tight screws on the baseplate or whether they have actually changed the manufacturing process. Pros: Seriously consider this tool.

A decent floor nailer and a great value, especially with the ability to use either cleats or staples. The construction of the nailer was solid and well made. I was however disappointed in the mallet, the wooden handle was very loose and not well finished and doubt it would hold up well in the long run, fortunately, I recently purchased a Stanley graphite handled mallet and have used that.

The nailer arrived in just under a week and I was ready to start putting down my bamboo floor. The base plate needed to be changed (bamboo is 5/8" vice 3/4" for most hardwoods), but was quickly accomplished by removing the 4 allen screws with the wrench supplied. After adding a few drops of oil, I made a few test nailings and was pleased that no further adjustments were necessary. The nails were set perfectly in the tongues of the bamboo. The starting wall clearance was excellent, with the 3 5/8" wide bamboo, I was able to use the nailer on the second row! Do be careful when installing bamboo as the nailer needs to be set flat and square to prevent damage to the edges.

I did run into one nail jam as most floor nailers are infamous for. It occured between two strips of cleats. It took about five minutes to clear the jam (breaking out the directions just to be sure). Future jams could easily be accomplished in under two.

I've only installed about 150 square feet, but so far I've been very happy with the performance of the nailer.

Awesome...I have been renting guns for years and decided to buy this one before installing about 500 SF in my house. I am a homeowner - not a pro - but I have installed thousands of feet of wood. I wish I bought this gun a few years ago. Not a single miss-fire, as a result of the gun, in 500 SF. I have never had a more consistent floor nailer. The gun is easy to use and really does not require a hard hit to work. If you are planning to install any decent quantity of wood, I would highly recommend this unit over renting. Good Luck!

During a major remodeling job of our home, we hired a carpenter crew, that was well respected in our area. They put down the hardwood flooring in our kitchen and dining room area with a regular air nailer. We noticed after a couple of weeks that the floor made squeaky noices when we walked on it.

Having to still complete another area with the same hardwood flooring, we decided to try and do it ourselves. So to Amazon.com we went and purchased the Akuzuki nailer. Upon arrival we began the project. We found the recommendations on Amazon from other buyers to be true and the instructions in the box were easy to follow. Within a couple of days our flooring was down and it doesn't squeak. It looks really professional.

Thank you for offering a great product.

Country Music

The songwriter for this song should win an award - listen closely to the lyrics and this is a typical drink and hurt country song. Carrie Underwood's vocals on this duo are so strong and appealing; it makes you want to hear her sing more of this type of song vs. the typical pop standard.Brad Paisley is known for his signature guitar sound, but it is a bit of a detriment on this song as it gets a little obnoxious for a really loud and banging guitar solo smack in the middle of a tender song. You could have the same licks if they had toned the volume on it down a bit. Remind Me (Duet With Carrie Underwood)

This song i dont know but its amazing. I love songs you can relate too and this one does the trick. Its a perfect song for couples like mine where you have been together for so long and you start drifting apart and then you realize whats going on you and try to fix it. this song tells exactly that!

I absolutely am in love with this song. It has two great artists on one song, which is always a plus, but their voices go together soooo well and it pulls you into the love story. One of the main reasons I love country songs is due to the relations I can make between my own life and the songs, and this song relates to my life so well! Its a must have!'

Reusable Grocery Bag - grocery bag, reusable grocery bag

I do like these bags. They work well, and four of them are just about perfect for grocery shopping for a family of four. The long handle is great, and the construction is good quality. My only complaints are; 1., the price. They're pretty expensive for a bag. I found after I purchased them that they're more reasonably priced on the manufacturers website, and they often have shipping deals. My other complaint is major. The first time I washed the bags, they shrunk to about half the size, and I did NOT put them in the dryer. I liked them much better before I washed them. That said, they do the job and I like that they're fair wage. From now on, I'll buy them direct from the manufacturer and not wash them until I absolutely have to. Ecobags Recycled Cotton Canvas Tote Bag

This is a great bag!!! It's big and spacious and I went shopping with it and was able to get most of my groceries in just 3 of these bags versus 10 or more store bags. I am glad I am doing my part to help save our earth!

I was very disappointed with the purchase of this product for the following reasons. The dimensions that are given are for the bag prior to being washed. In other words, the canvas was not preshrunk before the bag was assembled. The bag shrunk in size by over an inch in width and height. I have several other canvas bags, so I know how to care for canvas bags. They are to be washed in cold water and hung to dry. The canvas material used in making these bags was very thin and inferior. I would not recommend these bags, as I believe it is not a quality product.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I ordered 3 of these, but they are very spacious! I have used them a few times, I'm still trying to get used to having these and bringing them with me every time I go shopping. I did go one evening and brought 2 thinking the items I was buying would need 2 of the bags. They all fit into 1, including an 8 pack of gatorade! I also took these with me when I went to buy my daughter some summer cloths and they all fit right in. This product is wonderful, and it's great to be doing my part to reduce my plastic waste. They were a great price, and very sturdy, I would definitely recommend these.

I like canvas bags. I have lots of them and use them to carry groceries, books, hardware, clothes, etc. I've washed lots of canvas bags and never had one shrink. This Ecobags canvas bag shrank even when washed in cold water. Ecobags should have use preshrunk canvas.

Additionally, the straps are not 22". Mine are 9" from the top edge of the bag to the middle of the handle which makes it more suitable for hand carrying.

I've had two of these bags for over two years. I use them mainly for the farmer's market and quick trips to the grocery store. I bought them after reading positive reviews and loved them in the beginning. They are strong and are holding up well, but as other reviewers have mentioned, they shrink significantly when washed. I washed one in cold water and was shocked when I compared it to the unwashed bag's size. They get the job done but hold much less now that I have washed them. At the time of purchase there were no reviews mentioning the problem with shrinking--hopefully this review will spare someone else the shock of retrieving a tiny bag from his/her washing machine.

I bought these bags over 8 years ago. They have held up amazingly well. They are pricey but IMO, they are worth it. I have bought other canvas bags but none hold up as well as these. I have carried HEAVY things in them and none of the straps have come loose (or even fallen off) unlike other brands. They do shrink quite a bit in the wash but I'm glad I can wash them at least!

This bag is made of heavy duty canvas and appears well constructed. It is actually so big that if I filled it completely it would be difficult for me to carry which is a good thing. Better too big than too small. The straps make perfect shoulder straps for me. I am a medium height slim woman. If you are 6'3" and of a large build the straps may or may not work as shoulder straps for you. The very best thing about this bag for me is the 7.5 inch gusset. That means it can stand on its own. It can also accommodate large packages. To give you some perspective, Whole Foods paper bags have a 6.5 inch gusset. That is a decent size for my purposes. I find the 5 inch reusable bags, which is fairly standard, not as easy for me to use. I love the convenience of these particular bags. The only thing that would be better would be if I could give my bags a grocery list and they would go to the store without me, fill my list and return with my groceries! But since that isn't going to happen, I am as happy with these bags as I possibly could be with grocery bags. - Grocery Bag - Reusable Grocery Bag - Global Warming - Canvas Bag'

Diver - diver

I bought it because when I get tired of swimming, the music is an excellent distraction from the exhaustion, I also listen to audiobook, so I can learn while I exercise.

This mp3 player is easy to use, and I can swim one week long before I have to charge the device again. I just have to put the ear bud carefully, so that no water comes in, otherwise I wont be able to listen anything.

I love the shuffle feature, because I put classic music, romantic, salsa, and rumba. This makes my swimming so much fun, because I never know wich rhythm will come next.

The earphones are a little uncomfortable, because the goggles press them against my ears, so after one hour of swimming, it's a little soar. Diver (TM) Waterproof MP3 Player. 4 GB. Kit Includes Waterproof Earphones. (Pink)

I had previously owned a Intova Waterproof MP3 Player and while it had great sound it was very bulky and I'd usually get tangled in the cords. This little player provides the same great sound as well as no bulky cords or bulky player. I'm also impressed with the ease that I can put my music in the player. Another great plus is that the battery lasts a good long time. All in all it was a great buy.

I just got this unit from Amazon and seem to be having the same problem. I was able to power it (as established by the power on light) but it isn't recognized by my computer. Did you ever solve this problem? I was really hopeful about this unit for swimming laps. I have the Finis waterproof player but a small piece fell off so now it's a paperweight. (BTW, I tried to email Finis in order to see if I could get a replacement piece and they never even replied.)

I have to take it back. I contacted the seller and received a prompt reply suggesting that I may not have screwed the USB cable in ALL the way. I tried screwing it in a little more and discovered that, in fact, they were correct. I then had no problem uploading to the unit by dragging and dropping.

I've not had a chance to use the unit while swimming but I decided to give it a 5 star rating in an attempt to compensate for the 1 star rating that I had before.

I never got to use this product in the pool. I had problems from the start and was told to be sure usb cable was in tight. It did finally connect and I did try to use it several times and each time the battery was dead. But when I tried to charge it just before swimming it still didn't work. Since it was 33 days since I purchased this item I wrote the following to seller to explain my problems but is has been over a week and I have gotten no response.

My MP3 player does not work. I had a hard time originally getting it connected to my computer but after resetting it once or twice I was able to transfer some music. I set it aside waiting for a chance to use it while swimming. I just tried to swim with it today for the first time. It worked for maybe 30 seconds then nothing. It had turned itself off and I could not get it back on. I figured it was the battery so I took it home with me to charge. WHen I got home I found the blue light was on (must have gone on by itself) but still no sound. I plugged it into the computer but it does not show up. After resetting it a few times I get the blue light back but still no sound. So I plugged it back into the computer, the blue light went off and again there is no connection. I followed all the instructions very carefully and I am sure there is something wrong with it. How do I get a replacement?

My suggestion is to avoid this product and this seller. I am really frustrated that amazon does not seem to care or give you a way to return it after 30 days.

I absolutely love this product. It does as it says...music while under water. I will never do laps without my Diver underwater Mp3 again!

There are some drawbacks, but they are worth it once you get used to it...

*I'm not fond of the hard curved part of the headphones that wrap around your ear. They would be less cumbersome if that part were removable. The ear buds fit and stay in my ears and come in a bunch of different sizes. The hard curved loops have to be held down with the strap of my goggles. They slip and I end up stopping to secure them again.

*There is no shuffle feature and the buttons take some getting used to...you have to do it by feel, once you get the hang of it, it's easy breezy ;)

*My first Diver was a dud...it did not stay charged. This is my second and I can swim a week on one charge (45 min per session) Amazon refunded the money quickly and return shipping was free... Greatly appreciated!!

All in all, it's an amazing experience to block out the world and swim while listening to your favorite music. All you can hear are bubbles and the sound of the music. I LOVE IT!! :)

I just purchased this player so I could use it while I did lap swimming. Unfortunately the waterproof ear plugs wont stay in! In the hour I went swimming I think I spent more time stopping, draining the water out of my ears, and the headphones, and re-setting them... only to have them fall out and fill with water a minute after I started swimming again. I even tried putting them under my swim cap with the arm band wrapped around my head, the only result was a headache, but no better sound. The best I could get it to do was occasionally I could hear music as if it were being played under water. If I could choose again I would spend the extra 30 bucks and get something better that doesn't have the stick-in-your-ear headphones.

I am the proud owner of a Diver mp3 player. I do water aerobics almost every day and am enjoying "jamming" to the music. It makes my time in the pool go much faster, and my workout has definitely been kicked up a notch! I have found that I can attach the player directly to my swimming suit strap thereby avoiding the use of an additional clip, cord or carrying case, making it very handy. I like this product and would not want to have to go to do my workout without it!!! Other exercisers ask me where I got it and how much it cost - I always refer them to the website. It is economical as well - before buying it, I asked others who had waterproof players about them. One person paid over $200 for hers, this one is a bargain at about 1/4 of the price! Thanks for a terrific product! - Diver'

Boating

I purchased this so that I could take my girlfriend out on some nearby lakes. Set up was very easy, but I'd recommend using a manual air pump as opposed to an electronic one. After setting in the water, it took a few minutes to get used to paddling and steering. Since this is my first kayak, I believe any frustration I felt toward this one is due to my inexperience, as now that I've had more time with it on several occasions, I can honestly say that I love every minute of the experience, thanks in large part to the quality of this craft.

Recently, I went out on a large lake (Lake Martin in AL) and was pleasantly surprised to see how well the kayak handled waves created by other boats. It glides right over them with ease, mostly without altering your heading! Wonderful construction is to thank for that.

All in all, I believe anyone who has not experienced any other inflatable kayak will love this one since it is such an easy entry into hobby kayaking. Sevylor Inflatable Sit-On-Top Kayak, 2-Person

This kayak is super comfortable & has decent handling. There are 2 small built-in skegs (bottom fins) for directional control, one at the nose & one at the rear. It's long & wide & very stable with very comfortable seats. It came with 2 sets of paddles (not just 1), they're light-weight, float & work okay. In the open harbor we bounce a bit in small waves & wakes but that's fun! You will get a little wet with the supplied paddles, the water gets trapped in the foot rests & other crevices. The splashing is greatly reduced if you use longer paddles. This kayak really encourages you to just sit back, stretch out, relax & enjoy the scenery. Have fun!

Okay let me start by saying that this is a great 'kayak' for the price. I got mine for $91 shipped and haven't looked back. Upon saying that here are the pros and cons:

Pros:

-Super cheap

-Durable*

-Easy to transport

-Comes with two paddle

-Easily inflatable and deflatable

Cons:

-Sluggish in choppy water

-Oars are cheap quality

-Can be a little small

Overview:

Okay so I have had this thing about 2 months and have taken in out about 10 times. I am 6'2" 185lbs and my girlfriend is 5'6" 140lbs? and for the money this kayak is great. It is a little cramped for me but its not bad once you get used to it.

We have taken it two 2 different lakes and it performed great. We took it in the bay at Morro Bay, CA and it did good too even though the water was a bit choppy. When we took it to the beach and in the open ocean and it was a little rougher. We flipped it both times trying to paddle out and back in, so this isn't that stable on waves more than foot or so, but its still really fun!!

Also when we took it out in the ocean one of the connector joints on my paddle snapped in half so I had to replace it ($2.50 at Home Depot). I am sure the warranty would have covered this but I am not the type of person to deal with that hassle. Anyways the paddles that it came with are a little short for me and not super strong, but if you are just taking this out on the lake, a calm river, or in a bay then they will get the job done. Overall I think that this was a great buy and I have already gotten my money out of it. It is definitely a great deal and personally I would recommend it for those who will use it in calm water. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because one of the paddles broke.

Hope this was helpful.

This is my first kayak. Loved it. So easy to transport. No trailer or roof racks needed. Says kayak will take over 500 pounds. Bought a high volume 12 volt Kwi pump with alligator clamps to spare 12v car battery on shore. Kayak has 8 heavy duty chambers for saftey. If one accidentally deflates no big deal. Inflated kayak in 2 minutes/deflate in 2 minutes. This is so relaxing. Easily carried by one average person. Just casually inflate....no hurry up stress backing up a trailer and off loading in a heavy used area. Bing, bang, boom, your quickly enjoying your kayak.

I have lots of arthritis, so it was so comfortable sitting on air... great seats. I'm 220lbs. Sat in the back seat. Enough free board so even choppy 1/2 foot waves did not get in kayak, just a little water from the paddling. Got a wet butt thats all. I felt very secure with my life vest on sitting in the back inflatable seat.

Even has 2 soda can/plastic bottled water holders, a small cargo net on the bow and holders on side to push your paddles in for temporary storage on the water. It's enough for me.

Took kayak to Clayton Lake State Park NM. Ranger was impressed with ease of operation...inflate/deflate. It was a little breezy. Wind took kayak a little so had to paddle back. Good work out 1 hour.

I read bad reviews about the paddles. Two sets supplied. That's nice. Read reviews that paddles fell apart and were not the best quality. Before going kayaking I gorilla glued all the joints. Now NOT able to take paddles apart but can not fall apart in water when I'm using them. For easy/average kayaking these paddles are OK but for serious kayaking I would recommend professional quality paddles. I'm satisfied with the gorilla gluing of the paddles for easy/average kayaking. If you want to do serious heavy duty kayaking get a better set of paddles.

So far kayak 5 stars. I'm getting another of these 2 person kayaks and possible sail connection. Like to try sailing a catamaran 4 person kayak. Will add to post when I get the other kayak and sail.

We had never kayaked before ordering this. Wow, was it easy! Paddling, direction, all of it is a piece of cake with this boat. My daughter's friend came to visit so we let them take our kayak out, and we rented a hard sided type to see how it differed. Boy, did we hate it! It was soooo different, difficult to steer, and uncomfortable. We were quite pleased to know for certain that our inflatable was a better choice, easy to transport, and a piece of cake to in/deflate. You won't go wrong with this choice. Even a repair, as we've had to do because of our own negligence, was easy.'

Christian Audigier - a g rock, affliction

I got them the day before Easter, so of course had to wear them to dysfunctional family Easter Dinner, there were twenty woman in one room screaming over my shoes, they are the black flower-y ones, they all wrote down the info & I'm sure I'll see my shoes everywhere this summer, but I had them first!!! so cute, so comfortable, and even my niece who had shattered her ankle a few years ago could wear them with no problems, since then I ordered the white & the pink, got the white last week, they're the koi fish ones, got the pink ones yesterday, I'm all set for spring & summer in adorable Ed Hardy wedges, height & style without pain!!!! for anyone thinking about getting them I recommend them highly. ENJOY! Ed Hardy Women's Casablanca Wedge Pump,Yellow-10SCA105W,8 M US

I took the advise of the previous review. I normally wear a 7.5 shoe. I didn't want the shoe to flop when walking so I got it in a 7 black. It fits almost prefect. Thank goodness it's a peep toe shoe, which allowed my big toe some room. I suggest to the manufaturer make 1/2 sizes. For this reason it got 4 stars.

I just received these and couldn't be more pleased! They are adorable and can be worn with jeans, capris, skirts, etc. I love the wedge heel which makes them very comfy for a high stacked shoe. I will definitely get alot of use from these shoes - they are my current favorite!!

First - These shoes are gorgeous. The graphics are vibrant and different - which is exactly what I wanted. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 - I have been wearing them a few hours a day to get used to them and the cork bottoms are already starting to show wear. Buckling from the pressure of walking. It's only been a few days. Not really what I expected from a high heel shoe. You would expect them to add in some hidden support.

I just have received this shoe today.First of all,the shipping was excellent. The shoe is exactly like the photo and very comfortable add to that it is true to size no need to extra space.I loved it so much and it goes with many options any person might have.I highly recommend this shoe to any one who would like to be extinguished among others.I just want to add, this shoes is not to be worn for long hours,i mean not for work or the office,it is very suitable for an outings with some friends or dinner but not for any working hours what so ever. After few hours of wearing them ,they will start hurting from the toes, they are nice and comfortable but not so long.....

I ordered the yellow ones too, and was informed that the est ship date was going to be August 30.... I got both in, IN PERFECT CONDITION, almost a week before the 30th! I am soooooo pleased with my purchase experience at sole monstr and will definitly purchase from them again!

"OMG"....is not even close to the sounds I heard from my co-workers in my office today when I received these.

They are super HOT, supper cute, you gotta love the colors of course. I have not worn it much so I can't comment on how comfy they are but they feel alright on my feet. I got the black ones, now I am thinking of getting the yellow one too. I love love love these ...,,funky and unique...capri, shorts, jeans...with everything....they look exactly like the pictures you see. - Affliction - 7 For All Mankind - Baby Phat - A G Rock'

Power Scrubber - bathroom scrubber, cleaning tools

I have used the Black & Decker Scum buster for years. I like these little power scrubbers better because:

1. It's smaller and more portable than the Scum buster.

2. It performs the same as the Scum buster, so if I can get the same cleaning power in a small handheld device, I will pick that anytime.

3. The Scum buster uses those proprietary Ni-Cad cylindrical batteries. Those are a specialized battery that you have to buy at Sears or the hardware store and they are expensive.

This power scrubber uses four AA batteries. We all have those around the house. Moreover, I use Sanyo eneloop rechargeable batteries which means I am never out of power.

4. What I really like is that this power scrubber is small, light and easy to use. You don't get tired using it. The huge Scum Buster eventually gets tiresome to use and it's awkward to handle.

5. B & D designed the Power Scrubber to spin fast and powerful enough to really scrub things, like pots and pans, tile, etc. But it does not spin so fast to where it would shoot water, cleanser, or whatever all over the place. It's speed is perfect for keeping the cleaning material in the pad and on the surface you are scrubbing.

6. This is perfect for its intended uses, scrubbing the sink, things in the sink and the shower/tub. I even used it on my tires!

7. Bonus Tip: I find it works quite well when applying medium pressure to the scrubber. It's powerful enough that when applying pressure it does not stall, it simply scrubs harder, which is what I want in a device like this.

8. And I like that it can stay submerged up to ten minutes (per the owner's manual). That means you can leave it in the sink with the water running without worrying about it shorting out.

Bonus Tip: In fact, the owner's manual says that if water does get into the battery compartment you only have to stop using it and let it dry out over night. How cool is that, not having to worry about water damaging the unit.

All in all a great device. It has saved me a lot of work in the kitchen. Black & Decker PKS160 Power Scrubber

I LOVE THIS ITEM....IT REALLY MAKES CLEAN UP'S A SNAP. I PURCHASED ADDITIONAL BRUSHES, PADS ETC., SO I CAN CLEAN BATHROOMS AS WELL AS THE KITCHEN BY JUST SWITCHING THE BRUSHES OR PADS. I JUST LEAVE THE ATTACHMENTS IN EACH ROOM.

I bought this for my wife to assist in cleaning the sinks, etc. It enables her to do it more efficiently because she does not have the strength in her hands, wrist, and arm to facilitate the job. She likes it and it saves a lot of time in cleaning.

I do admit to having fantasies about a motorized scrubber that would magically blast away all the hard water stains in my bathroom and kitchen. The Black & Decker Power Scrubber did not fulfill these. It did, however, make cleaning much easier after I had surgery on my shoulder.

The scrubber will do roughly about as good of a job as regular elbow grease. In some cases it has been very handy for getting corners or areas that are difficult to scrub. In other cases, I find I need to just use a scrubby sponge and do it myself.

This product would be awesome for someone with arthritis or who is physically inhibited. As mentioned, is also good for places that may be uncomfortable to get at, like the bathtub floor.

The scrubbing pad fits onto the device with velcro. I was a little suspicious that it would not hold, but it hasn't come off yet. The batteries are holding up pretty well. I am still on my first set. The rotation is not super fast but good. It doesn't slow down too much when putting pressure on it.

Black and Decker is such a good company, but I was not pleased with the power scrubber. Not powerful and not a good scrubber. And the pads wear out very quickly and are very expensive to replace. A motorized toothbrush works better.

I have had this scrubber for a long time and love it! I was surprised so many reviewers felt the power was inadequate because mine has been great, and I can be very particular about design. So, I wonder if the tool has been changed, since it was originally produced.

Mine cleans some areas better than I can, AND when it comes to a really disgusting area, I feel so much better having my hand farther away, so this area actually gets cleaned better and more often (like the part of a sink that goes down to the garbage disposal - yuck!). This may not be relevant to many, but for those of us w/ a weak stomach, it is a Godsend!

As I have aged, this scrubber allows me to clean quickly and efficiently, when I would otherwise, have been too achy.

Because this tool has a variety of attachments available, I get more "cleaning mileage" w/ fewer individual tools.

This scrubber is so helpful that I have one for every sink in the house, and an additional one for odd cleaning jobs, elsewhere!

The Black & Decker Power Scrubber is a fairly good value in that it does what is expected at a reasonable price. It enables those who need or want to save some "elbow grease" in scrubbing pans etc. We have a glass top stove that constantly needs to be cleaned with a special product that removes grease and other cooking splatters and leaves the surface with a shine. The Power Scrubber with one of the scrubbing attachments works extremely well on this type of job. Scrubbing pots and pans is much easier with the Power Scrubber than hand cleaning. Batteries last a reasonable amount of time unless you press upon the Scrubber with a high degree of force over a long period of time. If you hear the motor laboring, it means that you are using battery power at a level that will result in sooner replacement.

Conversely, I find it almost comical that our society has produced, and is using, such a labor saving device when all it takes is some muscular movement to accomplish the same result. There are some people who would benefit much more from this device because of arthritis or other ailment or injury. In this case the Power Scrubber is almost necessary. Fortunately my wife and I, though advancing in years, do not have such a need yet. We just use the device to make cleaning pots and pans easier and less mundane. - Cleaning Tools - Bathroom Scrubber - Cleaning - Scrubber'

Siding Nailers - nail gun, hitachi

This nailer is like a german sports car. It's got power, performance and handles like a dream. The single most important feature for a good siding nailer is the ability to accurately dial in the depth that the nails are driven. For cedar, or cement board siding the depth of drive is crucial. This nailer lets you adjust the depth of drive with absolute accuracy. You can flush nail all day long and you almost never have to pull your hammer out to set a proud nail. In addition, this nailer is light at 4.6 pounds which is also important when your using it all day on a ladder or scaffolding. The other feature that I love is that the nailer is extremely well balanced for a coil nailer. Most coil nailers are nose heavy because they don't have the stick housing to counter balance them. This nailer is not nose heavy and just has a great feel in your hand. Of all my tools, this is one of my favorites. I have not had a single jam and I've fired thousands and thousands of nails with it. This is a high performance tool, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who has any amount of siding to put up. It's a time saver, and truly a joy to use. Hitachi NV65AH 2-1/2-Inch Coil Siding Nailer

I am a DIY'er. I bought this nailer to install Hardieboards on my house. This tool saved me a huge amount of time over a hammer.

However, I am not a pro and here is what I found challenging:

1. The depth gauge was fairly easy to use but after a while I found that I had to just nail in a course and quickly hammer the nails home. Call it user inexperience (which clearly was the case) but I ended up under-driving rather than over-driving on purpose.

2. If you don't watch the plastic nail strap or cut it off frequently, it could twist around and foul the tool, requiring a stop to fix it.

3. It comes with the "automatic" trigger function: Hold the trigger, push, and nails will pop out until you let go. I found that difficult to work with: I can see how that would be useful for roofing, but for Hardie Boards, it made me pay too much attention to trigger pull/release, rather than paying attention to quality work.

Why 4 stars and not 5: Because the single-trip (one pull, one nail) mechanism doesn't come with the tool. I had to order that from a Hitachi dealer (referred by Hitachi themselves when I called) and it cost an additional $60-$70. Porter Cable, for example, will provide a different trip mechanism for free for their finish nailers (or at least they did when I bought one). This should have been included, or at least the price not so excessive, for such small and few parts.

I've done a lot of siding and I've tried a couple of different siding nailers but I always come back to the Hitachi NV65AH. These are workhorses of siding. I shoot an average of 1200 nails through these a day and the only problems I've had involved drops from scaffolding. What amazed me is how few problems I've had. After being dropped from 18 feet up the gun developed a slight leak. Not even enough to put it out of service. Considering how much dirt gets on these, from setting it on the ground or hanging from my belt into the dirt, I expected more problems.

The light weight is a big deal too. Most of the other siding guns I've dealt with are at least a pound heavier. Doesn't sound like much but this tool is almost always in my hand. A pound makes a difference.

The only reason I didn't give this five stars are the plastic sheeting keeps falling off, I keep getting new ones because the wire tends fly off when driving nails through Hardi plank (inevitably hits me in the face) and you can't get a rebuild kit for these, at least I haven't been able to find them. Hitachi's website says all work must be done by a certified Hitachi repair person.

Yes the price is high and I wouldn't suggest buying one for one house, rent if you can, but if your work is construction your not going to go wrong here.

I shot one box of 4800 2 1/4" ring shank galvanized nail through this gun the first time I used it. Oiled it often and kept clean as possible. There was the occasional miss where the nail had fallen out of the coil but it was harmless. Depth gauge worked well and was easy to adjust. This gun is lightweight, the Senco is a beast.

I just got done putting 11 squares of cedar shingles on my old farmhouse and the Hitachi nailer never let me down. An occasional jamb but that is all. But I only recommend the Hitachi nails. I was driving 2 1/2 inch ring shank stainless nails.Nothing but a great tool. I also sheeted, framed interior walls and flooring. Great all around and great for the homeowner,Thanks Hitachi.

Very lighweight, yet rugged. Adjustable drive depth a real asset when installing Hardipanel, or any James Hardie fiber-cement product. Get the real hot-dipped galvanized ring-shank nails from Hitachi (don't accept plated imitations!), stock number 13385 for 2 1/2 inch, and you can install Hardie as fast as you can cut it!This gun also good for fence building, and for attaching any "one-by" material to "two-by" substrates.

Excellent for quick and speedy installation of siding. Nails Hardie siding like it was pine. Make sure you adjust for correct length of nails or you will constantly be cleaning misfired nails. Some nail brands shoot better than others. Overall nice and handy tool.

Hitachi has a great nailer but they absolutely, positively need to include the single shot upgrade kit at no extra cost as this gun fires multiple nails far too easily and jams like you wouldn't believe. It's a great nailer as far as feel and weight but do yourself a favor and install the single shot nail kit.

Hitachi, shame on you for not building this into the gun or offering the upgrade at no extra cost.

As it stands now, I'd recommend to others to look at the Makita coil nailer as the best choice and then the Porter Cable as the second choice. - Nailer - Hitachi - Nail Gun - Siding Guage'

Do It Yourself - siding, do it yourself

Bought this book to help my wife and I to teach us how to remove old roof and install new roof. So far from what I have read, this is a great book! Lots of pictures and detailed instructions.

However, even though this book covers metal roofing it lacks in my opinion the details needed by a novice as myself to do the job myself. So the wife and I decided to go with asphalt shingles. Black & Decker The Complete Guide to Roofing Siding & Trim: Updated 2nd Edition, Protect & Beautify the Exterior of Your Home (Black & Decker Complete Guide)

Helpful. Helps clue you in if you have never done roofing or siding work before. Won't magically turn you into a tradesperson (nothing can without on-the-job experience), but will clue you in on how stuff is done. I imagine that even people in the trade might benefit from it, if only to see variations on the way that their own company does things.

This book goes over things in a big picture can of way. It is very macro not micro. If you want to know how to install something specific it would make sense to get a book only about that. If you have to fix some things wrong with your roof or siding this might be a good book. It has info for all different kinds of materials and projects. If you need an overview of roofs and siding this is a great book. You can't go wrong with the Black & Decker series. They do a great job giving you info for a wide variety of situations.

i love the black and decker series of DIY books, they use pictures and good explainations on how to do work around your house, and it is the same with this roofing book, it shows you how to remove old roofing, or put new over old..everything you need to know..

The description of the book on Amazon said the book covered single-membrane roofs. That is the reason I bought this, plus all of the favorable reviews that all the other Black & Decker Complete Guide books receive. I wanted to know how to replace single-membrane rubber roofs on flat/low-pitch roofs. Well, this book didn't do anything for that. - Do It Yourself - Siding'
