Weight Lifting Gloves

When I initially bought them, I gave them 5 stars and wrote a glowing review. I happened to visit city sports recently and checked out the same gloves. But I realized that they were different from the ones I received. The ones in this pic and at city-sports seem to have better leather and more cushion. But the ones I received were very basic. The seams are different too. I am wondering if I got something counterfeit now. I am working out with my gloves and they are ok but if you are looking to get the exact same gloves, you might be a little surprised when they arrive. Valeo GMLS Meshback Lifting Gloves (Large)

This was exactly the type of lifting glove that I was looking for because it matched the style of glove that I had previously. If this is the style of lifting glove that you are looking for you will find that these are an exceptional deal. After one week of use they prove to be very durable and offer cushioning in just the right places so you can focus on the amount of weight you are lifting rather than the toll that weight takes on your palms. I was also impressed with the speed of delivery. I am a soldier currently serving in Iraq so it was important for me to be able to have it delivered to an APO address.

I owned a pair of these very same Valeo gloves for about 2 years. At the time they were the cheapest brand of weight gloves I could find at a local sporting goods store. In my opinion, all weightlifting gloves are just about the same by design. They all have open fingers for gripping, a padded palm to resist friction and aid in protecting your hands, and a form of stretch backing for flexibility. The sometimes wide price range between the selections has much more to do with the quality of the gloves manufacturing than it does some new space age design. Weightlifting gloves take on as rugged a workout as you do. They constantly stretch under tremendous weight and pressure, and of course get soaked with sweat with every workout as well. Even though these gloves were used with every one of my workouts for a couple of years, the padding and Velcro wrist loop stayed relatively intact and useful. However I cannot say the same, nor are a fan of any mesh design in these or any glove. The mesh seems like a good idea at first since they appear to let your hands "breath" as you work out. But my own experience as to any breathing my hands were doing as compared to the meshes holding up over time is that the mesh started to come apart before even the first year was up. It appears to be strong and well woven, but I noticed it starting to fray after just a couple of months, and before a year was out open holes spread across the back of my hand. They still basically did the job for another year or so, but eventually looked and felt too ratty to stick with any longer.

It very well could be that my workouts were a little more rugged than others, but I doubt it. I am not an avid screaming weightlifter, but just doing some weight training to stay healthy. I feel these gloves, though very cheap in price just don't hold up and thus not worth it. For a pair of gloves that are just a couple of dollars more that do indeed seem to hold out for years, may I suggest The Harbingers 155 that I have enclosed a link to at the end of this review. I bought a pair of these after my Valeos wore out and they are still strong and completely intact after more than two years use. They employ a much more popular and durable stretch design for backing. They are very reasonably priced here on Amazon, and are very comfortable to wear and use. Excellent gloves all around that I highly recommend. One last thing, if you do decide to go with these Valeos after all, take heed of some of the other reviewers advice here that they do indeed tend to run small. Most men would take a large to an x-large in my opinion. Better to be a little too big than too small. The Harbingers on the other hand are more reasonably sized, and much easier to fit. Just another reason to spend a little extra and get some good quality gloves... Harbinger 155 Power StretchBack Glove (Black)

It is probably the lowest priced pair of gym gloves I have ever used. It gets the job done. A great filler item! Fit may be on the smaller side. I used to wear small on other brands, but medium fits me fine with Valeo.

pros: I got this many years ago and only now is it wearing out. Does a great job protecting my palm, ie the leather never wore out.

cons: One glove is bigger than the other. The fingers are too short. The netting on one of the thumbs ripped up after a year or so.

If it wasn't for the fingers being a bit too short, I'd buy another pair without a second thought . . .

Got these gloves as a gift and I guess you might as well expect the poor quality for the low price. The right hand glove is perfect. Everything is sewn that way it should be. The left hand glove is poorly sewn. Once I put it on, it looks like a knitted blanket with hardly any of the holes visible and doesn't fit my hand the way the other gloves does. If you're looking for lifting gloves, pay about 10 more dollars for a really good pair.

These are cheap gloves, so dont expect to much. Their leather fronts are pretty solid, but the back messing is pretty flimsy. It had already begun to come apart after only a few uses. You can still use the gloves, just doesn't look very nice. Another thing is the finger holes have started to curl in a bit (this maybe because mine are too big) but that can get painful when you are lifting heavier weights.'

"The Man in the Brown Suit" is a drab title for Ms. Christie's most romantic novel. It is interesting to see what type of girl (Ann Beddelfield) is Dame Agatha's ideal: well born, raised by her academic father but not devoted to him, beautiful and aware of it, uses her many charms to get her way, intelligent but wildly impractical, idealistic, adventurous and believes in that knight in shining armor will come and carry her away.Ann is deeply afraid she will end up in a rut forever as an underpaid secretary only to marry a ho-hum businessman and while away her life. Her father's meager inheritance, 87 pounds, even in 1924 money, will not see her far. She impulsively buys a ticket to South Africa that costs exactly 87 pounds, hoping for adventure. The subsequent story exceeds her wildest dreams with mysterious deaths, kidnapping, diamonds and Russian ballet dancers.Miss Christie has some excellent descriptive scenes of South Africa. It is clear the author is in love with the landscape, the mystery and the vivid life of the area. I never quite got in the spirit of the "adventure," as I worried incessantly (seeing as Ann would not) over what she was going to use for money once she stepped off the boat. The book does not contain a master sleuth, so it is not a case of one grand mystery, but a series of small mysteries solved as you go. There were so many subplots, I lost all sight of the main purpose, but was agreeable if confused."The Man in the Brown Suit" is a departure for Christie, one I'm glad she did not make too often. However, it is a good natured, high-spirited romp, and I am sure she had a grand time writing it. 3-1/2 stars.-sweetmolly- Amazon Reviewer The Man in the Brown Suit

This was one of Christie's earlier novels, but one of her most entertaining. It's pure brain candy, full of wit and adventure, with an appealing, intelligent heroine of the kind found in P.G. Wodehouse books of this period, and, later on, in the mysteries of Elizabeth Peters. Anne makes some nice points about the difficulties of the usual cinematic methods of freeing oneself when bound and dumped in a cellar. She also eats an extraordinary number of ice-cream sodas and collects native art to interesting effect. Oh, yes, and there are some murders and stolen diamonds involved. An advantage to the light tone, aside from its sheer entertainment value, is that it makes the reader a little more forgiving of Christie's stretches of credibility, which especially in some of her middle period novels can be a bit much. Not that I don't love her novels. But in some there is an almost palpable sense one kind of talent trying to be another...in "Endless Night", for example, she's rather clumsily dealing with the kind of psychological issues that writers like Thomas Harris would take up.This book, however, is Christie at her brightest and most appealing, and shows the facility with plot which would develop into one of the greatest gifts for story-construction that English literature has ever known.

Anne Beddingfield has lived all her life in a small village with her father, an anthropologist who is interested only in Paeleolithic Man. Anne longs for romance and adventure, and rather envies their maid, who has 'walked out' with a variety of young men. Then Anne's father dies suddenly, and she gets a chance at adventure when she witnesses the accidental death of a man at a London tube station. She has reason to beleive that this death is connected to the murder of a woman at a house in Marlow, but the police aren't interested in her theories, so she persuades a newspaper proprietor to take an interest. Anne takes passage on a ship bound for South Africa, believeing the answer to the mystery is to be found on the ship. There are a number of interesting people on board, charming Mrs Blair, enigmatic Colonel Race, the creepy clergyman Chichester, and eccentric and delightful Sir Eustace Pedler. Some or all of them may be up to no good. A lot of exciting things happen to Anne on the voyage, not the least exciting is when a handsome wounded stranger takes refuge in her cabin. Her adventures continue when they get to South Africa, and she finds herself with more excitement than she had ever dreamt of. Anne is a delightful heroine, adventurous and resourceful and humorous (and despite what a previous reviwer says, not in the least like tiresome, pompous Amelia Peabody). This book has an exciting plot, interesting characters, adventure, romance and humour, what more could you want? ( Actually, again disagreeing with a previous reviewer, I thought the film of this story, allowing for the fact that it was updated by sixty years, stuck reasonably closely to the original story).

I suppose like characters in PG Wodehouse, many educated English girls yearn to break free from the bindings of the Victorian society as the world appeared to be open to them, with past explorers having blazed the trails and the availability of modern transportation such as steamers and railroads to take them beyond the horizons where thousands had gone before. Oh, and of course the proliferation of trashy adventure thrillers also helped spark off their imagination; few glamourous adventure heroines suffered from sea-sickness or the availability of dashing boyfriends always there for them. When Anne, an orphaned English young lady, witnessed a death in the London tube, she found herself drawn into a real adventure without any clues to what she was really going after. All she had were vague clues that she had seen the "man in the brown suit", who was known to be present at two apparently unrelated deaths, one being the supposed accident at the tube, another was a strangled woman in the house belonging to an English MP Sir Eustace Pedler.Finding herself on board a cruise to South Africa, Anne found the web of intrigue expanded to include several more persona dramatis; the events seemed to surround these people whom all appear to be totally legitimate.Slowly, she learned that the affair was somehow related to one of the most daring diamond theft that occurred years ago, to a mysterious criminal organisation led by a shadowy mastermind known only as the Colonel, and with the luck of the British, she only got a couple of attempts on her life. Of course, just to make things a little bit more interesting, she found herself drawn to a man who personally declared he would strangle women with his bare hands.Although the background of South Africa had certain significance to the plot, like the attitudes of most colonials of the time, the native colour and people were relegated far to the background.'

Poacher - poacher, egg poachers

I'll say that I love this product. I purchased 2 of the same product in 1987. I finally had to trash them, as the non-stick coating was so gone, that it was a disaster trying to remove the eggs.

I just purchased 2 more. However, I thought that maybe I should try another brand first, as I saw that several other brands looked better, cost more, but must be better (assuming that they were). Well, no way! I will write a review on one of the others advertised here that I got about 3 weeks ago.

First off, there are no cons about this poacher.

Here are the things I love and missing on others: 1) I love the depth and size of each of the depressions. I always coat the depressions with margerine before inserting the eggs in each depression. 2) Done Eggs slip out with no problem 3) Years ago I used ones with individual cups but actually prefer this with depressions better. Here's why: If you look at the picture you may see a small slot and a round hole. You use either to remove the top plate using a silverware knife or any utensil that fits the hole. Using the utensil to remove the top plate, I transfer to the other hand with a potholder. Using a small flexible plastic spatula coax the eggs out. They slip out easily and saves time over using/washing individual cups.

Now that I think about it more, I would like to have a vented-glass lid to see the progress. Another thing, after using a 4-banger from another company, I would love to have an additional egg depression. I bought two units because I like 2 eggs and my wife likes two. I have used 2 units for many years, so it is natural.

For my money, this unit is MUCH better than more expensive ones. As I mentioned, I bought others when I had to throw out my old ones. I bought 3 other more expensive units and they are a waste of money....literally.

Buy this unit and, despite only 3 egg slots, it's all-around the best.

BTW, I've seen others say they can't get the timing down.

1/4 inch of water in the pan

I will coat with margerine and then add eggs before starting the burner.

Start the burner on high.

We like toast, so when the unit starts steaming, turn down to 3/4 and start the toast. When the medium toast pops, the eggs are just about ready (soft, but not jellied). Toast to the plates, knife to the top plate, burner off, switch to pot holder(ed) hand, slide out on the toast!

Great breakfast! Hope you enjoy yours as we have enjoyed ours! T-Fal/Wearever/Mirro 7124530 Comet 3-Egg Poacher

I just received my egg poacher and it is not a T-Fal/Wearever as advertised. Instead it has the name of Mirro classic on the shrink wrap. I have other T-Fal pots and pans and are some of the heaviest and best made in my opinion. This is made out of about as thin of material that won't crumble. Also the screw is stripped out of the knob and won't tighten up. I haven't used it as of yet, instead I have sent an email requesting the right one or a full refund. May work fine, I don't know, but isn't a T-fal and probably a $5.00 pan at best.

This is a great basic egg poacher. It's much easier to use than some of the fancier units out there, both traditional or electric. The cooked eggs release well, especially if a little drop of canola oil is rubbed into the depressions before adding the eggs. It's very straight forward to get the eggs cooked to just the correct firmness. Hard to beat at this price!

Would have helped to come with instructions, but I figured it out. (Just add water!) (And cooking spray) Lighter than I expected. Not exactly made with heavy duty materials, but gets the job done! Easy to use and clean. For the price, good buy!

This egg poacher is great, nothing like what I used to have. Very old fashioned. It took me a couple of times to get used to not having a cup to put egg into for cooking. They are formed in the insert. It is great. Now to get the timing down.

I was tired of frying eggs and breaking the yolk in the pan, so I came to Amazon looking for an egg poaching pan. This was very inexpensive...and honestly the quality of the pan is not all that great. But it works. The only problem is I've never poached eggs and didn't really know how to use it. It would have been helpful to have some instructions for the absolute novice, although it's not rocket science.

Here's what I found to do the job:

Put about an inch of water in the pan. I experimented with more and less and this seemed to be the best amount. Once it's too a boil, drop the eggs in the poacher. At four and a half minutes, the eggs don't get done quite enough. At five and half some of the yolk is overcooked. Five is about the best time although I'm still experimenting, hoping to find an exact time.

It does take longer than frying and if I'm in a hurry, I probably won't be able to use it. But otherwise, the eggs are perfect and perfectly round and ready for homemade egg mcmuffins.

This would probably be a three star product if it cost $20+ but for just $13, it gets an extra star. Overall, a worthy purchase.

I've had this poacher for ten years and I love it. It may be lightweight but it makes perfectly poached eggs every time. I boil 1/2" of water, put in the eggs, lower the heat to medium and cover for 4 minutes. Then I slide them onto a piece of toast with a rubber spatula. Inexpensive and works great. - Poacher - Cooking Gadgets - Egg Poachers'

Cordless Drill - 18 volt, lithium-ion

I purchased this drill along with a Makita BDF452 and gave both a workout in my garage. My test used 2"x6" pressure treated lumber. My goal was to test power, battery endurance and comfort of use. With both drills, I drilled qty (10) 1" spade bit holes, qty (20) 3/8" bit holes and sunk qty (75) 2" drywall screws. My hand and arm were tired so I quit, but suffice it to say, neither drill quit, so I called battery endurance test a tie. I believe the Bosch had slightly more power and speed, but the Makita had plenty of both for my needs. Both drills gave your arm a good twist when the spade bit would catch and hold. In a close race, I declared the Bosch the winner in power category. The Makita was clearly a more comfortable drill to use. It fit my hand well and the trigger was easy to use. The Bosch handle is configured at a bit of an angle and while using the spade bit the back of the drill seemed to press into my hand. Also, during use my finger naturally moved to the bottom of the trigger and it became a bit uncomfortable. Both drills are very well built and neither got hot during my tests. At the end of the day I preferred the Makita because it was slightly smaller (about 3/4" shorter) and clearly had a more comfortable grip position during use. Bosch 36618-02 18-Volt 1/2-Inch Compact-Tough Litheon Drill/Driver with 2 Slim Batteries

Great drill! I am Contractor and currently own the 36v Bosch litheon drill (Dewalt XRP before that), but I got tired of using it for smaller projects like hanging doors and installing cabinets due to it's bulky size and weight. I now find myself using this drill for everything. It has an excellent power to weight ratio and is very smooth/refined. I have the slim pack batteries and they hold a good charge. I will still keep the 36V around but it may end up collecting dust. I have only owned the 18v for two weeks now so I can't comment on it's long term reliability, but I have used it for sinking numerous 3" deckmates into framing lumber, speedbores, small holesaws, backerboard screws, and other fasteners. I can't comment on it's mixing ability (mortar and other cement mixtures), but that's what electric corded drills are for. As an every day user, I am very happy with this purchase.

Used it to build 4 picnic tables from Rockler plans in a college class. Four work crews, 3 days, hundred of screws in green treated lumber, one charge. Amazing torque, did not need to recharge. Students are Construction management majors and future shop teachers. They were impressed, as was I. Preschoolers came and helped assemble the tables (donated to their preschool) and the clutch worked well to allow the screw to be driven to the correct depth. I love this drill. Oh, and the light is sweet when working in dim areas.

Super tool! I usually don't brand-buy, but my garage seems to be collecting a lot of blue-green and red tools. I have a Bosch RO sander and jigsaw now, and I think they are both top notch. This cordless drill fits right in with the other quality tools. Background: I use this tool for light to heavy work (fine woodworking, drywall, rough carpentry, make holes in 4x4 joists with spade bits to run electrical cable).

The drill is very slender compared to my old (got it three years ago) cordless Craftsman. I can drill in tighter spaces now without having to use my 90 degree attachment. The size reduction also means a lighter tool, which is very deceptive; this drill has some serious power. Nothing like a corded drill but still... The power of the 18 volt is impressive to say the least. I love the 30-minute charge time for the baterries. I fully anticipate solely using this drill thoughout an entire day-long project.

The ratcheting lock it GREAT! I put in a bit and tighten it down with a ratchet lock. This feature has given me the utmost confidence that a bit will never again slip again.

The price is kind of up there compared to competitors, but you get a whole lot of quality with this purchase. Highly recommend!

I purchased the Bosch to replace another 18v that stopped working. I was impressed with the balance, lightweight (compaired to a NiCa) and the exceptional sensitivity of the variable speed contol. I also like the led light under the A good quality product. Negative features are a poorly designed bit holder (it doesn't work!) and no belt hook. Other than that a great quality tool

Recently I needed to purchase a new drill for work, and chose this one for several reasons. First and foremost, I own several Bosch tools and I already know that when I buy Bosch I won't be disappointed. The craftsmanship and functionality of their tools is top notch, and this one is no exception. The second reason I chose this drill was due to the Lithium Ion battery pack. If you can get the same juice out of a smaller and lighter package, why not? With this drill in my hand I felt like I was holding an older 12v model, but with the power of an 18v. I'll never use Ni-MH again. What surprised me more than anything else though, is the way the battery holds power. With older drills, as the battery loses power, so does the drill. This drill works at full power until the battery is drained, allowing you to work at full capacity until its time to change batteries. The final reason I chose this drill was for the torque rating. Simply put, I like power, and its better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. At this price point and combination of features, this was the most powerful drill available when I made my purchase. I find myself actually using the different torque and speed settings based on the job I am doing instead of just putting it on the highest setting and hoping I've got enough power. I'm probably going to get one of these for the house really soon even though I've got a perfectly fine cordless drill already. I like it that much.

Bought this drill after returning the 14.4V Black and Decker. My first thought was to spend about $70-$80 for a drill. I quickly learned while constructing a wooden swing set that the Black and Deck was not a very good tool and went back and spent an extra $60 bucks to get this tool. The difference was amazing, this drill just feels stronger and better made (the BD felt like it was made of plastic and this one felt like it was made of metal). Grat power and torque, nice size, quick bit changes--plus the chuck locks with a "click" so you know its locked (the BD chuck couldn't even keep the drill bits in place). All in all I was very happy with this purchase, its the type of tool you just hold and know its a quality tool. BUY this drill!! - Lithium-ion - 18 Volt - Cordless Drills - Cordless Drill'

Screwdriver Sets - screwdrivers, mini screw bits

i spend a great chunk of my week working on laptops and to that end, need a good precision screwdriver set. i bought one (unknown brand) from a camera store about ten years ago that has been my 'go-to' set over the years, but as i get busier i need more sets around the shop and for my on-site bag. i've puchased a number of sets over the years only to have them fail nearly immediately (stripped tips every time) and really only purchased this set as a test. 6 months in and going strong and i've actually ordered 4 more sets for the shop because i've been so pleased.

the tips don't appear to be hardened (or magnetized) but have held up well so far. the case is nice and the entire set is amazingly lightweight. the drivers themselves are very easy to use with the swiveling, cupped, top being very comfortable and useful.

my only complaint so far is that they're actually TOO light. a little more weight would help with more difficult screws. that being said, i've only had to drop back to my old set twice in the last 6 months and both were on sony laptop drive carriage screws (which are notoriously tight).

well worth the money. Stanley 66-052 6-Piece Precision Screwdriver Set

These are great for repairing the screws that fall out of eyeglass frames or for small electronics that have screws on the battery compartments. I have also used on watches to pop open the backs or replace batteries. The case alone is worth the price.

These are a good set of precision drivers. The contoured grip makes these a breeze to use on projects with ridiculous amounts of screws. The only bad side is that the wide grip can be too bulky in tight spots, but the comfort is well worth the trade off.

I bought this toolkit to enable me to upgrade the RAM in my laptop. The toolks work splendidly. They look cheap but I don't think that matters: they function well enough to get the job done.

The container has little pop-in slots to hold the screwdrivers. You feel a satisfying 'click' when you push the screwdriver back into its designated location.

If you have a need for a small precision screwdriver set get this. The set is carefully packaged in a terrific case that is very well constructed. It gives you all of the right pieces and will be an excellent quality collection when you need to work small.

P1 and P0 tips are precise and reasonably tough, but the blade turns about 10 degrees in the handles under moderate torque. The flat blades all seem to be too thick for their width, compared with older Moody and General kits I use. The rubberized handles are thick enough to make turning very easy. As bargain tools these are adequate.

These screwdrivers are a great addition to any tool box. The tools themselves are well made, and the carry kit is a big plus. Nice to not have to chase small screwdrivers all over my precision tool kit.

I bought this to replace the same set. It was similar, but not as appeared in product photo. I'll upload a photo of what actually came. Basically the difference is just the case, but I loved the case before (the case in the main product photos). It had a durable plexi-glass type cover that would keep the drivers clean. Important for someone who travels with a tool bag, and does everything from construction, to computer repair. Now the new set will surely get covered in plaster dust, etc, and have to get cleaned out regularly. A small thing, yes, but how hard is it for a seller to upload a current photo?

And as far as the set goes, it's not all that 'precise'. 0-point and 1-point Phillips, and 1.4-mm, 2.0-mm, 2.4-mm and 3.0-mm are not very small if you have trouble visualizing those sizes. If you're thinking glasses repair kit size, you'll probably be surprised how large this set is. Quality-wise, it's okay. Not amazing. Made in China, which I didn't see noted anywhere.

This is a excellent set if you need small screw drivers. The screw drivers themselves have a nice shape and are easy to use. The case is tough, and bright yellow so its easy to spot on a messy workbench or in a drawer. I got this to work on robotics, but my dad got one because he was tired of using junkie 'eye glass repair kit' type screw drivers on his glasses. We are both happy.

Just what I needed, cheap and easy to find. They're strong and reasonable. I know they won't fall apart on me and the end's aren't dull. Phillips and Flat's. A good find for a good price. Quick to deliver, no problems with the provider and service. Thank you - Mini Screw Bits - Screwdrivers - Screwdriver Sets - Precision Screwdriver Set'

Light Timer - programmable timer, light timer

These work great! it is a little intense setting it up the first couple of times but they usually work very well. i have 3 in my current home and they operate my outside lighting, which by the way are all cfl's. the power outage reset is a drawback, but think of it as an oportunity to stay trained on how to set it up. if it is not working correctly, remember to reset it and a very important step is rotating the dial ALL the way around.

Set-up: 1) push the reset lever to the right and hold it to a count of 5 and release. 2) Set the time: determine if the white is before lunch and black is after lunch, the colors change at 12 noon or midnight, whatever. Spin the dial at least 360 degrees, do not push in while turning, stop at the current time. push in and release, current time is now set. 3) ON Time: Next turn the knob 360 degrees+ stopping at the "ON" time, push in on knob. Look at the light, is it on? If yes move on, if not, start over. 4) Set OFF time: Turn knob at least 360 degrees stopping at the time you want the light to go off, push in on knob. Look at light, is it OFF. Good Job! 5) Not done yet, turn the knob at least 360 degrees, where you end is unimportant. All done. Remember, rotate knob 360 degrees each time, only push knob in to set times, current time, "ON" time and "OFF" time. that should do it. i love them because they fit in a standard wall plate. Normally outside lights are in 2, 3, or 4 gang boxes and replacing all the switches and wall plate with the deorator unit so you can use the new type timer is more than i want to invest. Intermatic EJ351C 120 Volt 24-Hour Programmable Mechanical Security Timer

I bought this four years ago and have had nothing but problems. Three problems:

1. EVERY time there is a power outage you need to reset the schedule.

2. It is difficult to set and understand how to program it. Several times I've confused AM and PM causing my light schedule to not work properly.

3. Even when I know I set the timer correctly, it doesn't always work properly.

I'm now on the hunt for a new mechanical timer that hopefully works better.

Timer worked reliably, so far as it is designed to, for a year or so and then began to turn on the light that it controlled earlier and earlier each cycle---clearly defective. Of course, the warranty expired two weeks before this began happening, so I am in the market for a new timer.

Reliability issues aside, I will not be purchasing another timer of the same model due to the fact that it was a pain to have to regularly reprogram the timer to follow a dusk-to-dawn schedule anyway (it's a moving target), so I am now searching for a somewhat higher quality, self-adjusting timer.

My landlady installed this timer for the exterior lighting. My problem: I can't figure out how to even make the blasted thing turn the lights on. I downloaded the manual, which specifies that the timer will operate like a light switch once it is in automatic mode. But I can't get it into automatic mode - when you turn it on, it is in "being programmed" mode and you have to program it before you can do anything. I've tried both ways to program it suggested by the manual but the steady red light indicative of automatic mode simply doesn't appear.

The profusion of modes in this innocuous-looking little timer (manual, automatic, rapid programming, 24-hour self programming, program review) is a user interface nightmare and far too complex to express effectively with a single red light. Without the manual it's unlikely you could even figure out that most operations are done by depressing the time dial. Advice to the manufacturer: next time do some usability testing.

I was excited to find this product on line because I could never find one in the stores and needed to replace the one I had for three years. My current timer will turn the lights on and off manually but the timer isn't working now. When I tried to install the new one, nothing worked! You can't even manually turn the lights on/off! I put the old timer back in and will buy a plain light switch to replace it. If anyone knows of another timer with only two wires, I'd like to know. I only have two wires in my wall so I can't install the newer timers that have four wires. (black, white, green, red) I won't waste money buying another one of these Intermatic timers.

I have used this brand of timers for years and love it because you can program outside lights with it. Sad to say though, it will only work with incandescent bulbs and not LED or fluorescent bulbs. I ordered these without reading the fine print but used them anyway. They are easy to program and dependable, hopefully they are working on a timer that will work with the new type efficiency bulbs for outside. I also use their inside digital timers too which is a very good product.

Call me an old fuddy-duddy, but I'm sick of everything having to be digital! I have manual timers on a couple of other switches in the house, so when I wanted one more, I went to two different home centers and a hardware store - nothing available except digital. So I bought a digital GE one, took me forever to program it, then after about 3 months - like so many things digital - it died.

I finally found this one on Amazon, and it's perfect. It installed easily, and contrary to what some other reviewers said, I found the programming to be a snap. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, and I set my start and stop times with no problem. And that's exactly what I wanted - a timer that turns my porch light on and off - not one that knows the phase of the moon in Tibet and the train schedules in Siberia and whatever else manufacturers try and cram into digital products these days.

Fast shipping, a good price, easy to install, easy to program, and works exactly like it's supposed to. What more can you ask from a product? Definitely five stars, and thank you Amazon for continuing to carry products like these when the retailers have all gone digital (are you listening Home Depot, Lowes, and Ace?) - Wall Timer - Timer - Light Timer - Programmable Timer'

Repair Kits - ipod, repair kits

Well hmm...i got this replacement even tho my iPod was still in warranty but i know apple wont repair/replace iPods with broken screens. I did get it in fast time and the product worked very well and is the original OEM product and was pretty easy to install, Although it does not have the APPLE stamp on the flex cord like the on the original Digitizer flex cable, so i'm not sure if apple will deny the iPod for repair if they see that or not. BUT only after 2 days of use my home button began to get kinda stuck i guess and i had to push down very hard to get back to the home screen. But i'm pretty sure the unit they sent me was faulty. Hopefully i can get it repaired at my apple store.

Over all its a great replacement!

Note: 8 and 16 gig iPod is 2nd gen.

32 and 64 gig iPod with speaker is 3rd gen.

iPod Touches with camera are 4th gen.

iPod Touches with Black and chrome metal cases are 1st gen. Digitizer LCD Screen Glass Replacement Apple ipod Touch 3rd Gen Digitizer + Chassis Bezel + Pre Assembled

Closeout Masters preassembled digitizer+bezel+home button is the best way to fix an Ipod with a broken digitizer(screen works but glass cover is broken). I tried separating the old bezel and digitizer-yeh right! I tried getting a new bezel and digitizer separately and sticking them together with the old home button-yikes!

Get the three pieces together preassembled-its actually cheaper and the parts will work.

A plastic safe-pry tool to remove the old glass digitizer doesn't come with these parts and this would be my only negative about this item.

This is the best way to repair a broken iPod screen. Originally I bought just the replacement screen, but it is totally impractical to attempt to remount the gasket and digitizer from the original screen to a replacement screen. With this pre-assembled screen, digitizer, and Chassis bezel, it's literally a "snap"! Note that there is a protective film on BOTH sides of the replacement screen BEFORE assembling it to the iPod.

My iPod touch screen was smashed to the point where I could barely read the text on the screen in several places. It costs about 150 dollars to send it to Apple to repair. Instead, I bought this package for 16 dollars. It took about 2 hours for the whole procedure, since I had to remove the broken glass with some special tools. I recommend buying this : [...]

It provides all the tools you need to remove the broken glass without damaging anything else. It is only a few dollars and is well worth it.

Anyways, my 32 gb iPod Touch looks literally brand new and it only cost a total of $20 dollars and 2 hours of work, which were actually fun since I enjoy repairing things.

Thank you Closeout Master for saving my Ipod!! The Digitizer arrived Perfect and New and ready to install. Works Perfect! I recomend This to everyone! The only fault is that the Home button is a little stiff but thats no biggy because it works perfect. And its really really shiny. I will be getting an extra soon. Thank you again you saved my ipod touch.!!YOUR THE BEST CLOSEOUT MASTER!!

This product does not come with tool to do the replacement, I used a mini screwdriver and scratched the LCD screen underneath. Spend the $2 and get the proper tool. Otherwise I am very happy with this. It works great and saved my iPod.

This is the best solution for replacing a cracked screen. Just pop out the old digitizer and chassis bezel and snap this pre-assembled piece in. You don't have to worry about damaging the old chassis bezel which is almost certain to be damaged in the removal process anyway. Plastic tools may be too weak to pop out the bezel and you can use a fine blade screw driver to remove it and not worry if you break it. (Do be careful not to insert the metal blade too deeply in the top and bottom areas since you could damage underlying electronics. You don't have to worry about aligning the digitizer to the chassis bezel with adhesive. All in all this solution takes the least amount of skill. Be sure to watch on-line videos of the removal process for help.

This is a great replacement for the price. I broke the ribbon cable on my original screen after opening the ipod to change its battery, so I ordered this is as a replacement. The first one that arrived had shattered during shipping, but Amazon sent another one which arrived intact. The glass and home button construction are not quite as solid as the original, but for the price it performs fine. - Ipod Touch - Ipod - Frame - Repair Kits'
