Guitar Accessories - power, guitar accessories

Everyone has these, and they are good in a pinch. It comes with an exceptionally long cable, and then another exceptionally long chaining cable, but between those, and the 1700mA output, you should be able to power most of a standard medium sized pedal board. For that purpose, and the fact that it's so cheap ($30 to power up all your pedals, when most power adapters on their own are ~$20? That is a stellar deal), these things are great. Like I said, good in a pinch too, and I definitely don't think it's a bad idea to keep one of these around, in the event that your *real* power supply should crap out on you at an inopportune time. This also comes with a plethora of connectors, including battery clips and mini-power inputs.

There's a few reasons why this should not be your *real* power supply. For one, even if you do use only 9V pedals and this has the amperage to power all of them... these are notorious pedal-buzzers. The more effects you add on to it, the buzzier it will get. This is especially bad with anything that has an LFO, which admittedly, most 9V pedals do not... but even still, this is a noisy little device.

Secondly, this won't be able to handle anything that requires AC, and it won't be able to handle any 12V, 18V, or 24V pedals. A lot of pedals are 9V, so this covers most of your bases... but don't count on it to be a solution to all of your pedal problems without doing a little more research into what your pedals need. You can fry your pedals and the power supply if you connect your pedals to the wrong power. Visual Sound One Spot Combo Pack

Out of all the power sources for pedal boards, this is the one to have. I gig often with no back up and it powers all my pedals except my digitech whammy. I have an SKB pedal board but use this instead of the power supply on the board because this is way more reliable.

I was hesitant about this item because of possible noise issues and amperage demands. I am powering a Boss ME-50 and several stomp boxes (Polytune, TS-9, Small Clone, Phase 90) with it. I am happy to report that the item works as intended. The adapter produces no AC 60 Hz hum and there is plenty of available current to power all the pedals. The package includes little caps to place over the ends of the unused plugs - a nice touch.

It's not perfect, but it gets the job done for cheap. Please understand that this system is pretty noisy and has its limitations. Read the instructions and do the math for the amount of current your pedals will draw from this unit. If you tax it too much, it will be super-loud and will kill the power supply in a hurry. If you use it within its limitations, then it will serve you well for a while. Ultimately, however, you will want to save your pennies and buy a more professional, consistent power supply. I'm saving for a Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2 Plus Universal Power Supply, but that's because it suits my needs. Meanwhile, I'm using this with only a few pedals attached, and it is serving its purpose.

just buy this! it pushes out so much power that i have dont know what to do with it. the power cord plus the daisy gives is a total of about 10 ft. plenty of length to reach all the the pedals on my board. but be sure you do your math when you hook this up to your pedals. know how much power you need and how much power you are going to use. understand that is the trick to any power source for a pedal board.

Granted this is no voodoo laps pedal power, or another isolated power supply, but it does provide clean, quiet daisy chain power for up to 8 pedals, and does so pretty dang great for $150+ cheaper.

Is it silent? No.

Is it reliable? Yes.

Would I use it on stage or in the studio? Yes.

Would I prefer something nicer if $$$ weren't an issue? Yes.

Does this wok great on a budget, absolutely!!

If you're tired of using batteries pick this thing up!

If you're a super quiet signal chain snob, save an extra $150 and get the voodoo labs.

I use the One Spot to power all the effects I have that need external power supplies (Cry Baby, Blues Driver, Tube Screamer and RAT). It is very simple and easy to use: You just plug the pedals in and it works. Others have commented on the quality and there are certainly more expensive devices out there to power your pedals, however, for what I need (bedroom player) this product does the job perfectly for a very good price. I am VERY satisfied.

I was worried this would be really cheaply made and well, crappy, but I have to say it works really well for me (so far). I'm not getting any additional noise or buzz but maybe this is because I only use four pedals and cover the 4 extra leads with the provided rubber caps. I'm using the One Spot with a MXR delay, custom comp, Rat and Little Big Muff. It might be my imagination, but when using the One Spot instead of batteries, the delay feedback sounds louder and both of my distortion pedals sound better! Drummer said the distortion sounded thicker. I think it sounds less, you know, 2-3 kHz irritation frequency. So, yes, I'm very glad I tried this product. The only negative I would give it is the somewhat rat's nest way that the cable lays out - something about it just seems untidy and unattractive somehow.. - Guitar Pedals - Guitar Accessories - Power Supply - Power'

Nail Puller - nail pullers

I was replacing wood trim on my house and had to pull a lot of buried nails while standing on a ladder. I tried using other tools like claw hammer, screw driver, pry bar but was having a lot of difficulty removing the nails and in some cases couldn't get some of the nails removed. I borrowed the Shark nail puller from my next door neighbor and from then on ALL NAILS WERE REMOVED WITH VERY LITTLE EFFORT. My neighbor told me he got the nail puller from Tool Crib and he let me use his catalog to order my own nail puller. I ordered two to give one to my son. Shark CORP 21-2028 Hardened Steel Alloy Nail Pullers

This tool is really helpful when framing, it will pull nails even whenthey have been driven below the surface of the wood, and even if you bust off the head it can still be pulled. This is the perfect size also. I've seen and used shorter ones, but they don't provide enough leverage.

I never thought I'd get excited about a nail puller, but these shark pullers are really a joy to use. My first model was the 8"er with the flat pry bar at one end, and I've ordered several other sizes since. The key to these things seems to be the quality of steel used - very strong and very hard - seems to bite into the nail no matter how much is showing.

I also own one of those old-fashioned looking nail pullers with the slide handle and moveable fulcrum. It certainly works, but is definitely much more trouble to get into position and get a grip on the nail that these Shark units. On these, just point the paws at the buried nail, give it a whack or two, and voila, it's got the grip it needs to start moving it.

Very versatile, very well made, very worthwhile to have in your toolbox.

I worked with a contractor who used one of these and thought it would be a helpful tool for my own remodeling jobs. These nail pullers work as advertised. I don't think I will ever use a claw hammer again for nail pulling. Very high quality steel and designed very well. Get one, you won't regret it!

I tried a lot of nail puller and this one really worth's it.

It pull the nail from the shank and sometimes with nail gun the head just get off and you got no other choice and that tool really does it really satisfied !

This nail puller is very sharp, and does not vibrate your hands when you are hitting that much. It cuts into wood easily and really bites onto the nail making it that much easier. Happy with my purchase.

This is the nail puller that you want. It is made from tough steel, has sharp jaws, and bites through the wood to get to the nail. Having a puller at both ends allows you to get into seemingly impossible places. I have all kinds of cats paws and bars in my arsenal, but this is my go to tool for pulling nails.

Shark CORP 21-2028 Hardened Steel Alloy Nail Pullers

I like using this because it is light and compact. It works well with pulling nails. Works best with small jobs of pulling nails. For any other nail pulling jobs, I would recommend a nail bar.

Estwing PB-18 18-Inch Pry Bar

I was shocked when I received this. It was about half the size of what I expected. I had to replace some deteriorating deck boards and was DREADING pulling the nails but after the first couple nails I had the hugest grin on my face because I new the job was going to so so quick and be so much easier than I figured. I had to stand up once to get a little more leverage on the tool but the rest came out like nothing and they were possibly the greatest nails every made 4" long, spiral shaft, galvanized they were like the day they were made when I removed them. I wish I owned this tool 25 years ago but then I suppose I would not appreciate it as much. I added a user photo. - Nail Pullers'

Home Improvement - eye protection, eyewear

I would agree with K. Smith on the fact that these are pretty good glasses but the lenses can be a big problem. They do fit very comfortable on your noggin, but the lenses can easily pop out. If it wasn't for the lens factor, these would have gotten 5 stars.

1 year later-

It's been about a year now, and I'm still using these glasses. They still do the job well, except for the fact that the lenses have gotten a decent amount of scratching. I would still recommend them. Dewalt DPG58-11C Reinforcer Clear Anti-Fog Protective Safety Glasses with Rubber Temple Pads

I bought these because they were cheaper than the ones ot the local home center and expected nothing out of the ordinary from them. However after them arrrived I found they are much lighter in weight and superior in clarity to the generic ones at the store. I'd give them 5 stars if the lens was more secure in the frame. Other than that minor detail I'd say these are the best safety glasses I've found.

I work in a factory and are required to wear safety glasses. These are very comfortable with adjustable angles to wear it to your comfort level. The plastic eye pieces have been secure. The only complaint I have is the nose piece, after 3 months it has become loose and occasionally come off. The price of these are reasonably inexpensive. There really isn't much to complain about. I ordered a few on Amazon and purchased some in-store use for my friends. I get compliments to the design of these at work. I enjoy the rubber pads and adjustability of these glasses the most. It fits nice and snug to my face and I'd recommend to anyone who need safety glasses and wears them for long durations. If it helps, I've been wearing this particular model for the past couple of years.

I have owned these safety glasses for two years. They are very comfortable. However, the nose pads come off very easy and get lost in a snap. I had several pairs of these. I wish I could find some replacement nose pads for those glasses sitting on my shelf. You still can wear the glasses with out the nose pads, but they pinch.

These safety glasses are a high-quality build, fit securely on your face, are comfortable, and the lenses wrap around to shield your eyes from all angles. But, unlike most safety glasses, you don't look like a dork wearing them. I bought these to use for indoor projects and they work great.

If you work outside, these are the shades for you. They are extremely light weight and comfortable to wear. The wrap-around shape provides good protection from flying debris. Tenting effectively removes glare, but does not make the image too dark. Anti-fogging feature seems to work too.

This pair is very comfortable to wear and does not get foggy. I work in the lab all day long, so the comfort is particularly important for me. There are cheaper pairs out there but if you can spare few more dollars, I recommend this pair.

All in my title, for my job I've had to wear all sorts of safety glasses and these are by far the most comfortable I've ever had to wear. They still give me good coverage and I have had 0 problems with fogging up. Great value for the money

I purchased these to use at shooting ranges. I have a large head, they're very comfortable.

They didn't fog up at all, but condensation still built up on them requiring me to wipe them off three or four times in a single hour. I'm considering using a rotary tool to cut some very thin slits in the top of the lenses to allow moisture to escape. - Dewalt - Eyewear - Home Improvement - Eye Protection'

Wireless Adapter - viera cast, wifi

I'm using this with a Panasonic TC-P50G20 TV. As soon as it was plugged in, I was prompted to join a wireless network. Showed all Wi-Fi available with signal strength and type, a b g or n (very nice). Works perfectly with my Apple airport, type n.Very easy setup, just followed the prompts. It comes with a 3 ft USB extension cable which made hiding it much easier. Otherwise the dongle sticks out a little if plugged directly into the left side USB port. A bit expensive for what it is, but apparently nothing else will work. PS,there was already a update for the TV that was painless to install.I find Netflix works much better(clearer picture) with this adapter and the Panasonic TV than with my LG 390 blu-ray player. Panasonic DY-WL10 Wireless LAN Adapter for select Panasonic Viera HDTVs and Blu-ray Disc Players

Okay, my "credentials": I have purchased this unit, a Panasonic DMP-BD85K WiFi Enabled Blu-Ray Disc Player (Black), a Panasonic VIERA TC-P42G25 42-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV, and a Netgear WNDA3100v2 usb WiFi adapter for use on my DishNetwork DVR. I have a NETGEAR RangeMax Wireless-N300 Gigabit Router with USB WNR3500L and a 6Mb down DSL connection. I mention the Netgear WiFi adapter because that is the only one that can be used instead of this Panasonic adapter (version 2 only). I am a network techie and, because I didn't have anything better to do that night, tried a bunch of configurations. Here are some of my conclusions and observations: 1) The Panasonic gets stronger and more stable connections than the Netgear. 2) You have very little control over the adapter from the TV or the Bluray. [Edit: this is a dual band device and you can connect at 2.4 OR 5 if you have a dual band router]. You cannot access any of the properties of either adapter as you could if it was connected to a PC. 3) the price of both adapters are pretty much the same and assuring that you are getting the version 2 of the Netgear is pretty iffy unless you pay higher prices at a local electronics store and can directly look at the adapater. The Netgear is much positional which I found to be a negative because it is easy to be moved by roving cats, messing with wiring, etc. The Panny adapter seemed to pick up the max signal in almost all positions. 4) Why do reviewers downgrade the adapter's rating just because the tv or bluray needs it for WiFi. Shouldn't that downgrade be attributed to the TV or Bluray player rating? 5) Differences in PQ or stuttering could just as easily be blamed on a slow broadband connection. Your available bandwidth from your ISP is really the rate limiting step, not the Wireless N speed (even with a mediocre WiFi N connection). Bottom line - the device works well despite the negative comments that have more to do with availability, perceived high price compared to other USB WiFi adapters (probably true for G but not N), lack of choice (so?) and the fact that it was not built into the TV or Bluray that was originally purchased.

I bought this because I did not want to run a Cat 6 line through my house. The adapter is easy to setup. I have my wireless security set to no broadcast, WPA. I followed the prompts for a manual setup on the display and it was easy. The paper instructions are worthless.

I, too, get pauses during a Netflex broadcast. It does not bother me. If it does occur, it usually happens early in the movie and only once.

The Panasonic wireless LAN adapter for Panasonic DVD players works well. There are two areas that I'm less than pleased with, however. First, the adapter protrudes from the front of the DVD player where it's likely to get bumped. Second, the price of approximately $90.00 is a genuine rip. This is a stone simple device that should sell for no more than $10 - $15. However, with some Panasonic DVD players, access to the Internet cannot be accomplished without it, therefore, the outrageous price. The entire DVD player was $130.00. It would be much better to buy a DVD player with built in Internet access. The one we have was a gift, so we're stuck. Also, Panasonic does not permit substitutes. You must have this particular model, and you must use only the HDMI cable that came with the box. So much for open systems. Other than these items, we're very happy with the results. We're able to stream Netflix movies very quickly with excellent quality.

I worked for four hours with Pannasonic rep and my router, opening ports. Still wouldn't work. Called back to Panasonic and finally I was told the LAN adapter only had a ten foot range. What good is that? Isn't the point in having the adapter so you can access your wireless without being in the same room as your router. If my computer and router were in the same room as the TV I could just run a wire. The router is about 15 and half feet from the TV with no wall or door between just an open floor plan. But I can not move it any closer.

Upon receipt of this product, plugged it in the the Panasonic Blu-Ray Disc Player, followed the on scren instructions to set up, as I have a protected network, and was not to famaliar with some of the terms, it took me a few minutes to get the proper coding in, but after I acomplished that, I was immediately able to get online, and have used it with Netflex. Have had no problems with connection, and no problem with streaming. The picture quality has been good, and no delays in downloading have occurred. I am highly satisfied with the item.

Absolutely crazy that Panasonic can't build in wireless connectivity. Wastes a USB port too. It is your only choice if you don't want and extra CAT 6 to the back of your set. Way to expensive for what it is!

When I purchased my Panasonic TC-P42S2 42-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV, it was on sale at Sears and additionally came with a Panasonic DMP-BD65 Blu-Ray Disc Player (Black) at no additional cost--I got both for $729, so I was not upset that the Blu-Ray player did not come wireless ready. After some research, I found this device elsewhere for around $60. It works exceedingly well--no pauses, and is able to stream HD content from Netflix flawlessly. It is linked to my NETGEAR WNDR3300 RangeMax Dual Band Wireless-N Router, a pairing that works perfectly so far, and which is nice because I stream Netflix through my N connection, while using the G connection for my laptop. Like others, I dislike the fact that the USB connection is in the front and not the rear of the Blu-Ray player, but that is an issue with the player itself and not the adapter. I simply pushed the Blu-Ray player back into the shelf a couple of inches in order to prevent any accidents. There is a way to make the adapter less obtrusive--get an angled USB cable from NTC Distributing (do a search for this company), and you will be able to tuck the cable away and hide the adapter. The only thing that I really dislike about this device is that it is so large. I wonder why they couldn't take advantage of the nano usb device technology that is out there. At any rate, this device works, and works really well. - Viera Cast - Streaming - Wireless Adapter - Wifi'

Iron On

Followed instructions and the very next day the patches were off on the corners and peeled off very easily when I pulled on them. My son did not even wear the jeans after I ironed the patches on, they just came off. I don't know if these patches work for anything else, but most certainly are not made for use on denim. It's deceiving because they are denim color so you assume you can use them for jeans, but what a waste of time. Singer 2-inch-by-3-inch Iron-On Patches, Denim, 10 per package

I tried these patches skeptically due to the other reviews - but I had no problems. I followed the directions to the tee and turned off the steam on my iron. I pressed the patches about twice as long (1.5 minutes) for good measure. I also let them completely cool before handling them to see if they stuck. They stayed on through the washing machine and dryer! I patched my 4 year old's jeans b/c he gets holes in all of them. The look is not "nice" because the patch is obvious, but they keep life in his play clothes/jeans instead of having to replace them and he's not the age where he cares what he wears yet. I'm so grateful b/c it saved us a lot of money!

Only giving these a 2 Star review because I bought them with the goal of patching jeans. They colors nor the fabric match jean material & they are obvioius on Jeans. For Pants I'm sure they'll work ok, since the material is thick & the bonding glue is decent, they are also easy to use. However these are NOT for patching jeans.'

Laptop Power Adapter - laptop power adapter, laptop charger

When my daughters power cord to her laptop broke, I just knew I was going to have to spend at least $100 to replace it. I went to HP's website and this part was discontinued. So I went to reliable choice, Amazon to see what I could find. I found one for under $10.00. I was shocked and had to take my glasses off to make sure I was reading it correctly. I ordered it and it came before her battery died. I works perfectly. If I ever need another one I'm going to Amazon. NEW AC Power Adapter+Cord for HP Pavilion DV6700 DV9100

The cord stopped working well for about a week but worked most of the time. Then while I was in bed with my 4 week old baby I heard a funny noise and then saw SPARKS and it burned my duvet cover. DO NOT BUY THIS. CHEAP WIRING! CHEAP PRODUCT, pay more for a better product!!

Worked for about a month and then it just died. Based on the good reviews I thought I would take a chance at such a great price. Well, that was a waste of money. Not worth the effort to return so I will just tossed it and never buy product from this manufacturer again.

I bought this product not expecting much out of it from the price. I was very surprised when I got it and it worked perfectly. 1 month later it slowly stopped giving power, my screen would lighten and darken even though the light was still showing blue. Then last night, with no trauma to the cord, it just stopped working. Not worth it if it only lasts a month and a half.

My power cord broke for the second time, so I came on here to get a cheap one. So far, it hasn't broken and it's been a month since I got it...but who knows how long it will last! Didn't have an issue with it being too short, it's long enough for me. happy with it! - Dv6000 - Ac Power Adapter - Laptop Charger - Laptop Power Adapter'
