Extension - socket, extension
I needed an adapter to connect my sockets to my cordless drill. I came across these on Amazon for only $3.50. I really only needed them for one repair project I was working on, so I didn't care if they only lasted me for the one use. To my amazement, the are actually built really strong! My Stanley sockets and drive extensions snap on really tight. Actually almost too tight. I had to really pull to get them off. Which is fine with me. I would rather they be on tight then fall off every 30 seconds.
You get 3 adapters to fit sockets for: 1/4 inch, 3/8 inch and, 1/2 inch.
I am so glad I opted to buy this set vs. just the 3/8 inch one I found at our local Home Depot. Home Depot had the one adapter for almost twice as much as this whole set. In the end I ended up needing the 1/2 inch too so it was so worth buying the whole set.
The quality of these way surpassed my expectations. Now, instead of throwing them away after my project was complete like I expected, I am put them in my tool box with my sockets. I definitely will be using these more often! 3 Pc. Power Extension Socket Adaptor for Drills
Its just a set of cheap china set of Socket Adapter for Drills. Already broke four. They should work okay for the home owner. I knew what I was buying, its not the sellers fault. At the breakage rate I am having= craftsman. For a little more money= made in USA, forged, not cast cheap metal. The seller is great. Its just a cheap product.
Amazing how many items come through my house requiring assembly with sockets or hex keys. These guys take the socket wrench out of my hand and replace it with a drill ... They've gotten me back to the sofa ahead of schedule on many a weekend. Make sure to adjust the torque on the drill to avoid over tightening - can pretty easily damage what you're working on OR twist the drill out of your hand. Only concern I've noted is that the finish seems to have tarnished over time.
I have purchased two of these from the same seller via amazon. The first set was perfect and exactly like in the picture with one slot in the shaft for the bearings in the driver chuck to connect. I liked it, and ordered another to have one in a dedicated portable tool chest. The second set was ordered using the same link, but was not the same socket adapters at all. There were two slim slots in the shaft and got immediately stuck in my dewalt 18 volt impact driver. I had to rip it out with the assistance of vice-grips and persistent knocking with a second wrench. The first set is nice, but the second almost damaged my far more expensive tool.
For three of these in decent quality they are good for the price. Now I can use my cordless screwdriver for bolts on my car, going to be much nicer at taking things apart than using a ratchet that takes forever. I recommend these.
This served the purpose of exactly what I needed, to be able to use my drill with my many socket sets. And for only a few dollars, I cant complain. Obviously this was not made for impact wrenches, but then again neither are drills. :) - Extension - Drill - Screwdriver - Socket'

23 Ga Pinner - workplace
As the pins go,there is no issue. The other reviewer is referring to the tool from Bostitch, the pins can be used in any tool brand using this size.
As far as the Bostitch pinner goes;
There was a problem with the piston /driver that CS will send you a replacement part that will fix the problem I have no issues with the trigger. For the price this is an excellent tool, very well made, works great with the new part. Bostitch PT-2330-3M 1-3/16-Inch 23 Gauge Pin (3000 per Box)
These are great for crown molding or holding glued appliques until they dry. But usually the wood fibers don't close up around them again and a tiny hole is still visible, with a shiny metal pin head in it. And if not shot in straight or with enough power they stick out of the wood slightly and you probably won't notice until you get a nasty scratch as you rub your arm against it!
If you have a 23ga pinner with an adjustable piston, set it to a slightly higher pressure than you need to set the pin flush. That way it leaves a tiny pin-sized cavity above the pin head that can be filled and stained without affecting the surrounding finish. That is the way I found works best to make these really disappear.
I just completed a large furniture building project that consisted of two 8' x 4' book cases and a cabinet 4'w x 3'h x 22'd. I used the 23 guage pin nailer on all of the frames and on some lattice work on the cabinet doors. The nailer worked great! I'm very happy that I've added it to my toolbox.
I'm a finish carpenter and fine furniture builder, and I was introduced to pin nailers only last year. I did a lot of work with a friend who had the Grex model, which I liked very much, but when I decided to buy a pinner of my own, I went with this Bostitch unit because it was less expensive, and I have a 16 ga. nailer from Bostitch which is excellent. Their pinner, though, needs to be rethought. The large, ungainly safety trigger is thin plastic, and the edge tends to pinch your finger. Ergonomics aside, the unit simply failed to sink pins below the surface of any material, regardless of air pressure or depth setting. Maybe I got a lemon, but I returned it and bought the Grex. It just WORKS every time. - Workplace'

Cell Phone Headset - headset, hands free
I have earlier Jabra headsets (I am hard of hearing and the "in the ear" piece works very well even without hearing aids). I wanted to get the latest and best Jabra and leave one in each place where I need them. I ordered 2. While I can still hear very will with them, several people on the other end have asked me to please take them off so that THEY can hear ME. To test, I called my office phone and left messages with both the new (C510's - both) and the old (C250) Jabra headsets. The difference was clear. The C510 was very muted (muffled sounding) while the C250 was clear. They are inexpensive at Amazon and hardly worth returning, but if you need a similar headset, I recommend that you go with the older versions. Also, for those with hearing difficulties, consider the Motorola Bluetooth MotoRokr that plays the sound through your car stereo [http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-MotoRokr-T505-Bluetooth-Speaker/dp/B000WTM552/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=wireless&qid=1278258434&sr=8-3]. In most circumstances, this works very well for me and the sound through the stereo is much easier to understand - plus the sound is coming through the BTE hearing aids. Listeners at the other end also tell me that I am very clear. Jabra C510 Corded Headset
It has been very frustrating to find a GOOD headset (I don't like bluetooth) that fits both 2mm and 3mm plugs. I just bought a new LGEnVy Touch, and thanks to the adaptor, it fits in the 3mm insertion! Good sound quality, and comfy to wear. Thank you, Jabra!
I purchased this from OEM Planet through Amazon. For the price it's hard to argue with this headset. However, it was not new in new packaging. It was in a small plastic bag. There was supposed to be a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter included, but there was not one provided. I needed this to use with my Blackberry.
It seems to function OK and is comfortable on the ear.
Received this from SF Planet. First, it came in a plastic bag that had been taped shut. This was supposed to be new. It did not come with the additional ear gels or the 2.5 to 3.5 adaptor. I contacted the company and they sent me the adaptor but you have to keep turning it to get it to work. And then the sound is so low it doesn't matter. Packaged directions would have been nice also.
This headset works as described and expected. Fits well behind and in the ear without discomfort. Volume is adequate. Only knock is there were no instructions included for the operation of the controls on the mic boom, so you're on your own as to what they do with your particular phone. Price is excellent.
Pros:
1. Good Sound Quality when used with my Mobile phone (iPhone)
2. Mic quality is good too
3. Call Start/End button
4. Mute switch
5. Comfortable
6. Can be used with either ears
Cons:
1. OK Sound Quality when used with Landline phone (Uniden)...with some disturbance
2. Mute button is a switch, so a bit difficult to operate
3. Call Start/End button is flat
3. Needs some time to fit the earplug into your ear
Overall If you want to use it for your mobile phone, it works well. For landline phones i wudn't suggest (tested only with my Uniden phone).
I ordered this for my iPod Touch so I can make phone calls and it works great. I can hear clearly as well as the person I'm talking to can too. The price is excellent. Overall with shipping I paid about 7 dollars for it which is real cheap in my book. I would recommend this to anyone!
I had a Jawbone cordless headset and it drove me nuts! The reception varied and people had so much trouble hearing me. A few years ago I had a Jabra corded headset. I was afraid that Jabra no longer made it because of all the hype about bluetooth sets.
It was literally one tenth the cost, I can hear perfectly and I have not had any problems with people hearing me. If you like your bluetooth and it works for you, then the cord may seem cumbersome, but if you don't mind the cord, this is a superior technology in terms of hearing and speaking.
In addition, it works in the car better than a bluetooth. Finally, for $4 I don't care so much if I lose.
Well, my old wired handsfree set finally broke a wire after almost a year, time to buy a new one. Don't like the 'blue-tooth' things, they don't always work and give me just one more thing to worry about charging and most of them make my ear flash bright blue. Went to Verizon. They could only sell me this thing for $30 and I had to use an adapter to get from 3.5 to 2.5 millimeter, which kept pulling out. Went to Amazon (where I should have gone in the first place) and bought TWO for less then half the price and I didn't need an adapter. So now I've got a spare. Shopping on the internet may be difficult 'cause you can never see EXACTLY what you are going to get, but SFPlanet and Amazon taught me to be a bit trusting... It can really be worth your while. Amazing thing number two: It was not emergency, but I ordered and received these two headsets in the week BEFORE Christmas, all in less then eight days! - Cell Phone Headset - Earpiece - Headset - Hands Free'

Arthur Conan Doyle - e-reader, ebook
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle wrote a number of books, but to me, nothing really worked like his Sherlock Holmes mysteries. The characters are believable, and one begins to think that one almost knows them. The characters in Doyle's other books just don't have the same character.
I've read all these stories before, but I had forgotten how they all turn out at the end. They are perfect for reading just before sleeping; you can finish one story easily each night before your eyes close and drift off to sleep.
I love the way Holmes sees even the smallest details and is able to deduce truths from them. Of course these are classics that people will enjoy for centuries. The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes
This is the perfect follow up to Klinger's annotated "Adventures of Sherlock Holmes." It is exhaustively researched, beautifully printed, and tastefully illustrated. The scope of the annotations are awesome, and truly enhance the appreciation of the Sherlock Holmes stories. Both die-hard fans and casual readers will absolutely love this book!
I love reading Sherlock Holmes mysteries, and now I have them on my ipod! The stories has a couple of typos, but nothing that ruins the story. The complete stories are all there, with no missing parts. The pages are easy to read, flip, and use. I really enjoy using Kindle to read my stories, it's easy to use, and has all the features that I want like view lock, and automatic page saving. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves reading Holmes!
"Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes" was the fourth Holmes book and the second collection of short stories. Originally published in the Strand Magazine as "Adventures of Sherlock Holmes," it took the name "Memoirs" when published in book form, because the first collection had pre-empted the title "Adventures.""Memoirs" consists of eleven short stories, none of which are as good as the stories in the first collection. In fact, several stories appear to be reworkings of stories from the original "Adventures." "The Stockbroker's Clerk" is a rehash of the plot of "The Red Headed League." "The Gloria Scott" seems to borrow heavily from "The Boscombe Valley Mystery." "The Greek Interpreter" replays "The Engineer's Thumb." "The Yellow Face" harks back to "A Scandal in Bohemia." In "Bohemia," Holmes was stymied, and in "Yellow Face" he again goes badly astray.Obviously Doyle was growing weary of Holmes. So weary, in fact, that he killed Holmes off in "The Final Problem." Holmes fans everywhere would rejoice when Doyle resurrected their hero in "The Return of Sherlock Holmes," and Holmes went on to further, and better adventures. Mediocre Holmes is still far better than most detective fiction. Holmes fans everywhere should also rejoice at the BDD publication of the BBC radio plays starring Clive Merrison and Michael Williams. Merrison and Williams make the best Holmes-Watson team since the Rathbone-Bruce collaboration. The production values for the BBC plays are excellent, far better than the production values of the 30's and 40's, when Rathbone and Bruce portrayed the crimefighting duo.The BDD publication consists of three volumes, each volume containing two cassettes, and each cassette containing two plays. The eleven short stories of "Memoirs" does not quite fill the twelve play capacity of the cassettes. BDD solves the problem by borrowing "The Second Stain" from "The Return of Sherlock Holmes."
What a wonderful surprise it was to come across Leslie Klinger's outstanding annotated versions of the Sherlock Holmes stories on Amazon! Klinger's notes are extremely helpful and informative (not to mention entertaining), and the copious illustrations by Paget are a great addition as well. This (and the other volumes, of which Adventures, Hound of the Baskervilles, and Study in Scarlet have been published to date) are a worthy successor to William Baring-Gould's justly acclaimed annotated Holmes from years back, and are, in opinion, a better value and more enjoyable read than the rather dry Oxford editions. If you are new to Sherlock Holmes, this may not be the most economical way to pick up all of Conan Doyle's work. But if you are a long-time Holmes fan, or just want to experience the Holmes stories in a deeper and more informed way, I can think of no better purchase than this. Very highly recommended!!!
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's famous sleuth really doesn't need any introduction -- Sherlock Holmes, the famous detective who can uncover the deeper layers of seemingly simply crimes, and unravel the intricacies of impossible ones. "The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes" is another round of exceptional mysteries, including the infamous one in which Holmes seemingly meets his death. Spoilers below.
When a famous horse in the Wessex Cup races vanishes, Holmes decides to go solve the case, along with Watson... and quickly discovers that it's not a simple case of theft. Then "The Case of the Yellow Face" comes up when a man asks Holmes to get to the bottom of his wife's weird behavior and strange yellow-faced visitor -- and even Holmes may not fully grasp what is going on.
Among the other cases: a client who suddenly commits suicide, an old man with a guilty secret, an ancient riddle that may have caused a servant's death, a sinister father-son team, a bizarre locked-room murder with the word "David," a man forced to interpret Greek for a sinister kidnapping gang, and a stolen naval treaty.
And in "The Final Problem," the evil Professor Moriarty tries to kill Holmes to keep the detective from bringing down his criminal network, with disastrous results. Don't worry, the shocking ending isn't quite as... well, shocking as it seems.
"The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes" is a little more varied than Doyle's previous Sherlock Holmes collection, and it also has an ending that shocked his reading audiences. Namely: Holmes dies. Don't worry, readers nagged Doyle into bringing him back to life, but it's pretty startling since we're used to the good guy triumphing over all.
And as usual, Doyle crafts two kinds of crimes/mysteries -- the ones that are ultra-simple but turn out to have hidden kinks, and the ones that seem impossible to solve but are actually shockingly simple. And something rather startling happens in "The Adventure of the Yellow Face": Holmes screws up. You don't see that very often. The only problem is that the cases are rather less colorful and gripping than "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes'."
Doyle also shows the perils of Holmes' job in this one -- he has kind of a nervous breakdown and gets sick from overwork, and needs a vacation that (of course) is interrupted by more cases. Additionally, we get some glimpses into both Holmes and Watson's back histories, such as Holmes' college days and Watson's time in the military.
"The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes" is a suitably baffling string of mysteries, with plenty of weird twists and crimes -- including the ultimate one at the end. - Ebook - Kindle Devices - Kindle - E-reader'

Portable Amplifier
For years I enjoyed listening to CDs at the gym with a pair of 32Ohm Sennheiser EH-150's and a 15mW Sony DNE-330 Walkman (with customizable paremetric EQ). But, alas, the Walkman died and the current lineup of portable CD players all boasted only 5mW of output power (albeit the same EQ and bass boost features) ... and what a sonic difference those missing 10 milliWatts made! I nearly cried each time I put on the headphones, knowing how good they could sound if only ... . And headphone amplifiers were either AC-powered or outlandishly high-priced -- or both!
Until the Fiio E5! Finally, a 150mW, portable, high-fidelity headphone amplifier that -- connected to the right components -- returns your music to it's full dynamic range and frequency spectrum. My Sennheisers roar! Thumping bass! Sizzling treble! Quiet soft passages and deafening loud passages ... all from a rechargable gizmo about the size of a matchbook!
But it is what it is. The Fiio E5 does not have nearly the amp to drive my full-size 150Ohm Sennheiser HD-525s to their abilities; alternately, hooked up to my son's Ipod Touch (which apparently has quite a bit of output power to begin with) and his preferred earbuds I could not notice a distingushable improvement in sound. But for an underpowered portable CD or MP3 player and a mid-sized set of high-fidelity headphones ... the Fiio E5 is a godsend. Hear what you've been missing! And for under $25? It's a no-brainer. FiiO E5 Headphone Amplifier
I truly have to respect the E5 and the good people who made it available in the US at such a low price. You get better-than-average build quality and ergonomics (though the accessory cables are a bit cheap). The one thing that you don't get is much improvement in sound quality. While I don't have the software and instrumentation to verify my suspicions, some other purchasers and reviewers have put this amp to the test and report a somewhat-startling rise in gain above 500 Hz. Anybody who has ever sold hi-fi equipment knows that adding a few dB of volume in that range will make ANY piece of equipment (cough, cough) sound more attractive in an "A-B" demonstration. (How do you think I made my quota each month?) And herein lies the problem...the E5 is not really so much a headphone amplifier as it is an active tone control. Frankly, the gain (volume increase) on the unit is pretty limited and it does nothing for my better-quality headphones. It just doesn't have any guts. What's more, it has a noticeable hiss from the electronic circuit. Now, you may not notice this right away, but it's there. There are also any number of other nice CMOY amplifiers out there that will exhibit virtually NO hiss at any volume level, and they're priced about the same as the E5 (at the price shown on this website). In summary, the E5 can make your headphones sound a bit more attractive, if you have the right "taste" and happen to have a set of compatible headphones. I just think that you could spend a few $$$ more and get a very-good to excellent headphone amplifier instead.
I give this little amp 4 stars -- I bought it for use with my iPod Nano 5g and Sennheiser HD600 headphones. The built-in amp in the iPod is **just** a bit inadequate to drive these headphones well -- on some albums I needed to crank the volume up all the way, and sometimes that still didn't give me enough volume.
For $20 plus shipping, I figured I'd give the FiiO a try. If it didn't work, just return it, right? So it came today, and I gave it a try with some of the problematic tracks on my iPod. First reactions: enough volume boost (barely, but enough) to make the problem tracks listenable, and to drive the HD600's to more than comfortable levels on most music. I have the volume on the E5 turned up all the way, and use the touch-wheel on the iPod for volume control.
Second, despite some other reviews here and elsewhere, there is NO discernable hiss or noise from the FiiO E5, either idle or with music playing.
Third: Bass boost works as advertised. If you have phones that don't give you good bass response, this will probably fix your problem. The HD600's have great low-end, so I'm running the E5 set to the OFF position.
Summary: well worth the money, and worth a try if your music player is working too hard to drive your particular headphones, or if you need the bass boost. I detect no degredation of the sound with my iPod. Just for fun, I hooked it up in series with my Home Headroom amp, to see if I could hear a difference...yep, the E5 blurs the extraordinarily good sound from the Headroom just a bit. But, then, that's not what it's for, is it? It's NOT a high-end, multi-$$$ amp, just a way to get a bit more performance from your portable music player. For that, it works just fine! The only alternatives would be a CMOY amp from one of the builders on eBay, at two to 3 times the price, or a commercial amp at much greater cost. The E5 is good value for the money, in my book.
- 1/2 star for the flimsy interconnect cables, - 1/2 star for not having a bit more gain. However, overall, I'm very satisfied. Build quality looks fine. The battery even came charged!
Happy listening!
As soon as it was charged, I connected the E5 to my Creative Zen V Plus & a pair of Ultimate Ears Metro.fi 150's. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that the thing actually works. It doesn't just bring out the bass, but the detail as well, & gives you a nice rich, warm, well-balanced sound. At first, I was disappointed with the 150's. Thanks to the E5, I'm not at all sorry I bought them. The only problem I have with the E5 is that it doesn't work as well with my Sony Walkman CD player. It does noticeably improve the sound quality, but there is a background hiss during the more quiet spots that gets really annoying no matter how you adjust the settings on either the E5 or the CD player. Still, the E5 works very well with MP3 players & I won't hesitate to buy another one when the battery finally dies. For only $27 including shipping, it's well worth the price to have your music sound this good.
P.S. Buy these at Head-Direct, these people get nothing but 5 star ratings for a good reason!'

Weight Lifting Glove
I bought these gloves, because being stationed in Iraq I don't have much to do with my down time other than lift weights. I was looking for something to limit my range of motion in order to alleviate wrist pain. These gloves have done just that, and my wrists never hurt. The only draw back I have seen is that the pair I bought were a little tight even though they are the size I normally buy. I lift 6 days a week and I have yet to find any signs that the stitching is deteriorated. I am really enjoying these gloves. Harbinger Classic WristWrap Glove (Black, Medium)
These gloves are made well and have heavy duty stretch panels between the fingers. The only draw back I have with these gloves is that they are tight. I ordered large which is the size I normally wear and they are tight. Getting them on and off is a challenge but being in Iraq I did not want to return them and wait another month for new ones to arrive. If you wear large and want these gloves, go with the X Large.
2nd review 28 July 2009... Ok so I have been working out at least 5 times a week for 2 hours a day. These gloves after 9 months have finally started to show some wear. You can see a few of my knuckles through the top of the glove but they have held up very well. They were tight for the first month but have stretched out and now fit great. Its time for me to get another pair and I will be getting the same set of gloves again.
These are better than the gloves without the wristwraps...they aren't as loose and the wristwraps add extra support when I am lifting. The only thing that would make this better is if there was more padding on the palm area.
I have owned these gloves for almost two years now, and a week ago one of them ripped near the thumb area because the leather got too worn out. of course i have used them a lot as my primary gloves for about two years so i am not disappointed, however what i am disappointed about is the lack of padding. the padding is so minimal that after six months i had to buy pads to attach over the glove in order to relieve pain on my palm. also i find that even after the gloves are broken in they will still cut from between the fingers.
as for the pros of these gloves, they have really good grip and the wrist strap is very efficient in reducing wrist pain making them a popular choice at the gym [i have seen many people sporting them]. In conclusion however i would not recommend these gloves to someone who lifts heavy and frequently, simply because the gloves are very light and the material is not very durable
I've gone through 2 pairs of these gloves in about 7-8 yrs, working out about 3-4 times per week over 2 hrs each time. As someone who has used these and the non-wrist wrap version, I would suggest that you evaluate what kind of exercises you're doing to see what your needs are. I feel like a lot of free weight, barbell work is going to justify the wrist wrap gloves, more machine and resistance band work will probably not justify the wrist wraps for most. I'd also recommend washing the gloves in the washing machine every couple of months. They hold up in the washer and dryer just fine, you can also air dry them. In my opinion, washing them extends the life of the product. I'm not as familiar with the newer Harbinger glove products, can anyone who has used both the newer and classic versions speak to the differences?
Updated Oct 2010: bought another pair as it has been about 2 years since my previous pair and wear and tear has taken its toll...noticed that packaging is now different and the product slightly different. Older packaging consisted of a plastic black and gray pouch, now has been reduced to cardboard backing with some twist ties. Product is also seemingly a little different. Size medium used to fit me fine through 2 pairs, but now the product is significantly smaller and tighter. My fingers barely fit through the holes and taking off the gloves are now time consuming and a struggle. I'm probably going to widen the holes a bit, but anybody else noticing that the newer gloves are much smaller?
I had previously bought Harbinger 155 Power StretchBack Glove (Black). They lasted me about a year until they ripped where the velcro connects to the glove itself. I felt like getting an upgrade so I bought these for about 18 bucks because they seemed reasonable. My first impression when I got them and tried them on was that they were very tight. I bought them in medium, which is the size I normally wear. However, this was only a problem when putting them on, as the tightness actually helped the grip. Once i broke them in, which took about a week, they were very comfortable. The biggest improvement I noticed with the gloves was that they were very versatile. I have congenitally small(weak) wrists and the straps provide excellent support during my chest and arm workouts. One thing I noticed, however, was that when doing exercises involving underhand grips on barbells(cleans, deadlifts, etc.), the way the straps place tension actually weakened my grip at times because they were constricting the blood flow to my hands. Fortunately, I found that using the straps as you would normal lifting straps was pretty effective and actually helped my grip, although I don't think everybody will have this problem. I lift every other day for about three hours and have had these gloves for 5 months and the only sign of real wear they have is that the suede grip part is a little smooth and the leather loosened up a bit(which is good, otherwise my fingertips would turn purple every time I went to the gym).
The gloves seem fine, but be careful on the size! My last gloves were a medium, and I ordered these in a large to be safe (and I used the company's guide.) They were still too snug, and would be very uncomfortable to use for more than 10 minutes. I suggest trying them on in a store before ordering!
I'm giving the product 4 stars due to my previous experience with the company and the general feel of the gloves. I will say that I have previously used Harbinger gloves, and though the performance was fine, they were very hot and I had to wash them frequently by hand. Fortunately, these are machine washable!'

Bostitch - nail gun
I'm mostly happy with the nailer. I'm near retirement so I bought a reconditioned one. Aside from a couple minor scratches it was brand new. It's paid for itself on the first Hardiplank job. Its light and compact; my only reservation is it sometimes double-fires. Some trouble with plastic collated nails feeding through, but I think its the way the nails are held meekly by the collation, I wouldn't buy plastic again. There is a disclaimer in the instructions that there is some tab that can be changed for plastic collation but the directions were terrible and the girl in Bostich tech support was clueless. After waiting 5 minutes for her to learn where the tab is I dropped my phone, it hung up and I gave up. The wire collated nails work much better, the only issue there was one time (in thousands of fires)a piece of wire jammed in the driver and took a couple minutes to extricate. In all I'd buy the another if I had a crew. Factory-Reconditioned Bostitch U/N66C-1 1-1/4 to 2-1/2-Inch Coil Siding Nailer with Magnesium Housing
I purchased this nail gun to install siding on my house. It has worked perfectly from a tiny lite duty compressor and I've gone through more then half of the case of nails I bought with the gun. Highly recommended.

Home Improvement Tools - handsaws, pull saw
Let me start by saying that I love this saw, not like, love. The best saw I've ever owned in over 15 years of framing. I've used this saw over the past year on post and beam joinery, finishing custom homes, renovations, commercial and industrial jobs and it just keeps on amazing me. It cuts cleaner than any push saw I've ever owned and it does so while getting into places I just couldn't get to with a conventional saw. Be careful with this baby however, because this is one razor sharp saw that will remove meat from your fingers if you don't treat her with the respect that she's due. One of my all time favorite tools, period. So you must be asking yourself, if he loves this saw so much why did he only give it 4 stars instead of 5 stars?. Simple, the saw is great but the cheesy plastic handle is bad, really bad. It broke after only 1 week and I've had to bandage it back together with tape several times to keep it working. The problem is with the cheap, hollow plastic handle that is so lightweight that it tends to split in half the first time that the blade binds on you. I've seen the latest incarnation of this saw and they have beefed up the handle and reinforced it with a steel core so that should solve the problem. Make sure you get the new handle or it's going to be a sad case of Caveat Emptor for you just as it was for me.Eric Wainwright Orillia, Ontario Shark Corp 10-2440 Fine Cut Saw
I have had this saw for several years and have used for both fine cabinetwork and for cutting 2x4s. It is amazing how fast and how fine it cuts. I prefer it rather than my regular handsaws for almost all work. The only problem I have had is that the handle is getting loose so I would not recommend getting the extra blade. I do need a new blade because it does not seem to cut nails very well.
I write a tool review column for an online magazine and also a bimonthly printed magazine. I am going to write a featured report on these saws. I can actually cut a kerf faster with this hand saw than I can with a jigsaw with a famous Swiss made blade.Saws of this caliber should cost much more. I can also assure everyone that the handle problem is no longer a problem. I have one warning though. This saw is an extremely sharp professional tool and not for any type of play or monkey business. Make sure that this saw is put away around children.I can say without any reservations that this saw should be in every woodworkers tool box. If you don't have one buy it now because it is the best deal on this site.
Shark 10-2440 Fine Cut Saw - I don't know that I really need this (that didn't enter into the decision of whether or not to buy it); but after reading the Japanese woodworking books and seeing them work, I just had to have a long straight handled saw. 'Nuf said.
These saws are: 1. sharp; 2. affordable; 3. easy to use (after a short learning curve).
These saws: 1. cut a thin kerf; 5. are very sharp; 6. allow you to do precision cutting.
And: they are very, very sharp (keep bandages with them - even though you've been warned - you'll have to find out for yourself).
I have moved ALL of my other hand saws to the back of the shop. These are a joy to use. I want to have each type (and have probably bought more than I have a need for). You will have to make a new miter box because these blades are too thin for any you have.
Some tips: 1. Don't pitch them in your toolbox or truck bed. These are precision tools and though they are quite strong, they are easily damaged. Use the blade guards that come with them. 2. Don't try to "muscle" them through a board. The old adage of "let the tool do the work" has never been truer. 3. Don't place the blade edge anywhere you don't want a mark left. I think I mentioned that they're very, very, very sharp.
(Since I don't know which review you might see first, I have left the same general review for each of these I own and added any specific thoughts for the individual saws.)
The replacement blades are ridiculously expensive, especially relative to the price of the saw, but this is a fine tool. great for all types of cutting in wood or plastic. I have found it most useful for shim and trim purposes.Everyone should have one of these in their toolbag.
The greatest advantage this saw brings is its versatility. It is small and cordless and very sharp, so that when you have to cut something in an inconvenient place, you can do so without a lot of the collateral damage that would come with the circular or reciprocating power saws. It's small enough to fit in a backpack or briefcase or toolbox, which makes it much more convenient for taking to a little job where you don't want to take a full array of tools, such as the trim in your sister-in-laws apartment or a little patching job high up on a roof. It's particularly good for interior molding because of its small kerf and because it doesn't spray dust all over the place. The fast-cutting afforded by the sharpness and precision afforded by the increased control brings us in the building biz one step closer to our cousins in cutting: the surgeons. In fact, a surgeon friend of mine told me that if he were stranded on a desert island without power and had to cut a femur or something, this is what he'd use if access to his own familiar tool bag were barred. "My choice would be the Shark, and not the cordless Sawzall, even if I did have plenty of backup batteries. The blade is not stainless steel, so tetanus would be a concern, but the cutting power is nearly up to the level of the best surgical saws." - Pull Saw - Handsaws - Hand Saw - Hand Saws'
