Arrow Fastener P35  extra Heavy Duty Pli... - arrow fastener p35  extra h, staplers

This stapler is very good for stapling med weight cardboard boxes using 3/8" staples. Be carefull when taking the operating section apart to fix a jamb, parts must be put back in their exact location for the stapler to work again. Arrow P35 Plier Stapler - Extra Heavy Duty

I've owned the P35 stapler for years and it has worked very well.

This stapler will take a fair amount of abuse without breaking.

It takes-apart easily to clear jammed staples and clean/oil.

This model accepts 1/4", 5/16" & 3/8" long staples making it very versatile.

You can order the staples directly from Arrow at a reasonalbe price. I suggest ordering all three sizes.

The chrome finish is top quality and keeps it from rusting.

It is comfortable to use and fits any size hand.

This might be the last stapler you ever buy. - Handheld Stapler - Arrow Fastener P35  extra H - Staplers - Bostitch'

Energy Conservation - energy savings, energy conservation

The Belkin Conserve Insight is a very nice piece of hardware and has a number of advantages over the Kill-A-Watt. Firstly, there are three outputs.

1) lbs/CO2 per year (or month)

2) $/year (or month)

3) Watts

Both the CO2 and $ setting can be adjusted to account for the cost and CO2 intensity for your local utility.

Averaging. One very nice feature is that after 45 minutes, the Conserve Insight goes in to averaging mode and displays the projected CO2 and $ per year. This is excellent for appliances that are turned on and off like a laptop or a refrigerator. The Watt display, however does not average. It shows the realtime updates.

Location, Location, Location: The small display for the Conserve Insight is located on the end of a 5 foot long cord. This is much better than the Kill-A-Watt that requires you to crawl on your hands and knees to get a reading. Also, the Conserve Insight is very nicely styled and looks great on a desktop. The Kill-A-Watt is much more utilitarian.

Simple: The Conserve Insight is very simple and easy to use. Personally, I do not have any problem with the Kill-A-Watts ease of use, but I have had trouble explaining it to other people.

Range: The Insight Conserve goes down to a much lower range than the Kill-A-Watt. Whereas the Kill-A-Watt bottoms out at 1 Watt, the Conserve Insight goes down to 0.5 Watts. This is a great help when trying to understand the power usage of wall hanging bricks (AC/DC converters). I am always frustrated with the Kill-A-Watt reading either 0,1, or 2. With the Conserve Insight, I can see the difference between 1.0 and 1.2. Nice.

Limits.

There are a couple of things I do not like.

Jumping Display: The watt reading updates a little to frequently. When reading the power to my laptop it jumps quickly from 30 watts to 40 watts and back again. This makes it impossible to get a sense of average power consumption.

KWH?: There is no KWH measurement. However, this can be back calculated from the $ reading and the $/KWH setting you applied to it.

Overall:

Highly recommend this product. Belkin Conserve Insight F7C005q Energy-Use Monitor

I used to own a Kill-A-Watt, buy spilled water on it so I looked after a replacement.

I got this after reading good reviews. I was warned about the lack of functionality, but thought to myself 'surely, it can't be that bad'. It turns out it IS that bad.

Here's what I did:

After setting up the price per kWh, I plugged my small washing machine in it and ran a load. I could see the real time wattage as it was running through its different stages, and that was great. At the end, it showed me the dollar / year and dollar /month amounts. However, that is meaningless to me. I would like to know how many watts or dollars the machine used during the cycle, and it will NOT show you that. I'd like to know whether it cost me 10 cents or 30 cents to run a load. Same thing with my TV. I'd like to know the price of watching TV for one hour.

Kill-a-Watt was bulkier but offered exact and valuable numbers, not CO2 crap.

I was waiting for this product to be available for long time since I wanted to measure my computer system power consumption.

This product is uniquely convenient because you can put the display at eye level, i has a 5-foot tethered cable, not like the similar priced [[ASIN: B000RGF29Q Kill-a-Watt EZ]] and others which have the display right in the device plugged into the socket, this makes reading or monitoring very hard for most of us who has the wall socket low and usually hard to reach where all the cables are. This was a Deal Breaker for me.

The price is relatively OK to Expensive, Base on the quality and features, I think $20 should be the sweet spot price and would make the majority buy it.

The manufacturer did not say the % accuracy, but based on its reading with nothing plugged in, it reads 0-0.5W, I would guess it has <0.5% accuracy, someone correct me if i'm wrong.

Features: It has 3 Buttons.

Button 1: Planet image, reads your CO2 Footprint, forecasts at current usage for 30 Days or 365 Days

Button 2: Dollar Image, reads your $ impact in your electricity bill, forecasts at current usage for 30 days or 365 days.

Button 3: Ray Image, monitors the Watts per hour being consumed at the power socket.

(After 45mins of being plugged in, it will switch to a average mode, which tracks the usage even when computer or else is off, giving you more accurate forecasts)

Features it does NOT come with:

Real time cumulative Watts/$/Co2 consumption. so you have to do your math if you are just testing watt usage over time.

Back-lighted display. Forget using this is very dark room

Will update this review after longer period of use.

I would definitely recommend this product to my friends. - Energy Conservation - Watt Meter - Energy Savings - Power Meter'

Telescopic Fishing Rod - kids fishing, fishing gear

I purchased this rod/reel combo for the convenience of having an outfit that would fit inside my checked baggage when I travel on airlines. The initial performance was good; I used it to catch a dozen or so rainbow trout while fishing in the Donner Lake region of California. The padded bag survived the trip quite well, and storage is more than adequate. The only flaw I encountered was some loosening of the rod sections after several casts. If you don't pause to push everything in tightly periodically, the rod tip (or even the whole rod) will separate and get flung into the lake with your lure. Okuma VS-605-20 Voyager Spinning Travel Kit

I recently purchased a Okuma rod and reel travel pack. I used it a couple of times to make sure it worked ok before my trip. It is a very nice combo that casts easily and has a light enough action that I enjoyed using it to catch small panfish. The whole pack is a bit bulky but worth the space to make sure your rod and reel get to your destination in good shape.

Don't plan on whipping this out of the case in a hurry and dipping your hook in the water. It takes some setup and tear-down time, as it does not easily come apart to fit in the case with the reel attached and the line strung. Look somewhere else if you want a quick solution for back country fishing where compact is key. To its credit, the rod has nice action and the reel seems well built. Comes with no line and only one spool. It is not telescopic.

I got this item for a Christmas gift and it was perfect for the beginner fisherman. It was safely packed so nothing could get broken and was easily assembled. I strongly recommend this item for a gift for someone whose trying to get their fishing kit together.

I purchased this fishing rod for my grandson. He was thrilled with the case that the fishing rod came in. He can carry everything that he needs in the case and go fishing. He takes his bike so the case works very nice.

I've used this rod 2-3 times a week for the past three months and am, for the most part, satisfied with the purchase. The rod/reel combo is of good quality and there's room enough in the case for a basic set of tackle. The case fits very nicely on a mountain bike tail rack and has proven to be very durable.

Now the reel is not nearly as smooth as my $120 Shimano and the rod tip will occasionally come loose on a very energetic cast. Still, the action is much better than a typical telescopic travel rod and the price is definitely right. The trout seem to like it too.

I purchased this item about a month ago and had it shipped out to my FOB here in Iraq. I am deployed deployed in an area that has a small lake and there are some trout sized fish all the way up to 5 foot long carp and other species of related "freshwater" fish. I have used the pole about 10 times and nothing has went wrong with the quality of the pole or reel. The top of the base had cracked when i hooked into a fish simply because i didnt seat the first section of the rod in tight enough. Overall a GREAT buy for this product! I would recomend it to anyone that is looking for a reliable breakdown travel rod. Thanks for a grea product and providing shipping to military!

This is a good, compact unit for travel and camping. The rod assembles easily and seems to be of good quality. It is stored in sections, not telescoping. The reel was a little difficult to set up and adjust, but worked well when everything was assembled. The case is nice quality, but not lightweight ripstop - a little bulky and heavy for serious backpacking.

The Okuma Voyager Travel Pack is everything that I had expected. Today I went back on line at Amazon to order another one for my wife to use when we are on trips to Colardo, Ohio, etc. However, I got the message "Currently unavailable. We do not know when or if this item will be back in stock". I hope that the quickly restock this item.

Sad, I will now look elsewhere.

However, If I cannot find it, I will check back with Amazon - the service and delivery meet exceeded expectations. - Fishing Gear - Okuma - Kids Fishing - Fishing Rod'

Beginner Photography - exposure, beginner photography

I really appreciate this book! I have been taking photos for several years but desire to improve my photography skills. Jim Miotke does a wonderful job of introducing his readers to the many features of today's digital cameras. The 40 tips for better photos and 20 assignments are very helpful for beginning and experienced photographers. I am working through the assignments with friends which provides an even better learning experience as we discuss our photos. I recommend this book highly! BetterPhoto Basics: The Absolute Beginner's Guide to Taking Photos Like a Pro

BetterPhoto Basics by Jim Miotke is an excellent resource for those just delving into digital photography. Unlike many other "beginner" books, Miotke doesn't spend page after page on techniques or explanations, instead keeping his descriptions short and to the point. My students find this book to be a great beginner's book, helping them go on to the more advanced books by Kelby, Evening, and others.

Full-color throughout, Miotke's book will take you from "Don't Get Too Close" to what lens compression is and how it affects your images. He explains why you should or would need a tripod, when to turn on the flash, what focal length is, composition, framing, and more. For a beginner, this is the book I would recommend to get you started. If you have a good grasp of the basics, this is NOT the book for you.

BetterPhoto Basics: The Absolute Beginner's Guide to Taking Photos Like the Pros offers a guide packed with tips and inspiration to help new photographers take better photos quickly. From getting close to a subject and turning off a flash to locking auto-focus and dealing with a camera's automatic settings, this packs in all the basics on how to take superior photos. Filled with color photo examples, any lending library needs this.

As a person who has been taking digital pictures for years with a good point and shoot camera I often peruse photo books in the library and bookstores and put them back. This one really caught my eye. The layout was excellent and advice clear and simple. I took it out of the library and read it twice and after carrying on about it I received it as a Christmas gift. My pictures have definitely improved. It is a must for any beginner and even long term point and shoot people will really benefit whether they keep their camera on automatic or experiment and chose some of the settings themselves. Just the the "Forty Absolutely Easy Tips To Instantly Improve Your Photos" justify the modest cost of this book for most people.

Really searched the gamut to find a book that presented the fundamentals clearly. This book strikes a wonderful balance between those fundamentals in theory, and how they apply to common photo conundrums. Purchased this book for family and give it my highest recommendation. I have ready hundreds of photography books.

This photo book is excellent for anyone interested in photography and needs simple explanation of photography terms. I would also recommend this book to anyone who wants to get more serious about photography. Th author gives great tips and advice throughout the book. Overall a great buy!

From page one I found myself completely drawn to the writing style and layout of this book. I had a great time reading through Step 2: Forty absolutely easy tips to instantly improve your photos. A must read book for anyone that is just getting started. FIVE STARS *****

I bought this book for my wife, who always said she was terrible at taking pictures. The format of this book makes it so easy and fast to learn - each lesson is 1/2 page long to read, the other half of each page is sample photographs of the topic (composition, exposure, framing, etc).

My wife, after the first section of the book (which she read in 1 sitting while on the plane for our honeymoon), became 300% better at creating beautiful photographs.

The book is concise but to the point, packs a lot information without getting too technical, and is very very easy to understand.

My husband bought me this book for Christmas. I am still working with a point and shoot but plan to purchase a dslr in the next few months. I have no real photography experience so the clear cut descriptions by the author really help. I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking to get into photography. - Exposure - Photography - Beginner Photography - Photography Book'

Ipad 2g Screen Protector - ipad 2 cover, ipad 2 cases

I wasn't sure exactly what this case would feel like when I ordered it since most of the flexible cases are silicone. I was very pleased to find that it is a semi-hard rubber that is somewhat flexible. Although it is described as clear, it has a very slight, white frosted appearance.

The rubber is thick and molded perfectly to fit an iPad 2 and all of the openings for buttons, charging port and speakers are placed correctly and smoothly finished. It covers the back and the edges completely and has a slightly raised lip that fits securely around the front of the iPad. Once you coax it into place, it won't move or pop off around the corners. Because of the thickness of the rubber, I feel it will provide significant protection from scratches and dings. (That thickness also prevents you from sliding it into a case with a cover while this case is on it. It makes it too thick so you will have to remove this case if you want to use a case with a cover for traveling, etc.)

One thing to note - if you apply the included screen protector to your iPad (and you definitely should), it takes a little time and coaxing to get the lip of this case on top of the edge of your screen protector. Because the case fits so snugly, it tends to slide under the edge of the screen protector when putting the case on. However, it's easy to work your way around the edge and tease the lip up over the screen protector.

If you prefer having a minimalist case for your iPad 2 in order to fully enjoy it's thin design, I think this case is worth consideration. Scosche glosSEE P2 Flexible Rubber Case for iPad 2 - Clear (IPD2TPUC)

Just got this for my iPad 2 3G and it fits 100% nothing lose and it has an excellent grip all ports and buttons are accessible and the top camera & lower speaker are uncovered and the case it self is so beautiful and foggy with almost 70% transpirity so that you can view the apple logo or the engraving on your iPad, all in all an excellent well made high quality product and I highly recommend it.

I've tried some other skins - silicon ones, and this skin one is my favorite. The silicon skins are cheaper but they don't fit as snug and/or are more slippery, and one of them didn't come with all the proper cutouts (missing a mic cutout). This rubber one is snug, has a better grip, has all the proper cutouts, and also comes with a screen protector. It is also low profile and keeps the iPad 2 feeling fairly light & thin.

One of the other skins I've tried is the "APPLE IPAD 2 SILICONE SKIN - BLACK, WITH TOUCHSCREEN STYLUS". That was the one missing the mic opening, and I found it more slippery than I'm comfortable with.

This case fits very well. The case come with a clear screen protector that is actually easy to apply to unlike other screen protectors I have used previously on my iPad 2. This one applies without having alot of air bubbles. The case is sleek and protective doesn't give the iPad an increased feel which is a plus. I would definitely recommend this case/screen protector. - Ipad 2 Cases - Ipad 2 Cover - Ipad 2 Screen Protector - Ipad 2 Accessories'

Physical Therapy - fitness, physical therapy

This is a great band in terms of resistance (used in pilates and toning), but it was NOT 6ft as advertised. It measured 5'1" -- had I known that I would've gone with something else as the extra 11" in length would really make a difference on some of the moves.

UPDATE: After returning this item because of it's length, I found a set of bands that really are 6ft+. The Stott Pilates Flex-Bands Gift Pack (Blue and Green) includes 2 bands over 6' each, perfect for pilates, arm & leg exercises. DYNA-BAND 6ft Green Medium Resistance Band

I bought this band after I'd tried using a medium resistance band by the Thera-band brand before it (Thera-band's medium bands are red, while the Dyna-band's "medium" resistance is green). I was curious to see if Dyna-band's "medium" was any tougher than the other brand.

I can assure you the Dyna-band is tougher, so if you want the more challenging version of the "medium" band, go with this one. I'm an avid user of Cathe Friedrich videos, and it was definitely worth trying the brand she uses, so I am assured I'm working with the same resistance level and Cathe and the crew. I also recommend storing your band in a cool dry place (I use a plastic box with a lid), and putting a little baby powder on it between uses to keep it from getting moist or sticky.

I bought this resistance band to replace the one that came with my new EA Sports Active exercise game which I use with my Wii. The band supplied with Sports Active is way too wimpy and I needed something with more resistance. This one seems about right for me but I would describe it as more than medium resistance - it is a big step up from the red one that came with the Sports Active game.

The quality seems good and I have used it for several weeks now with no problems.

I have been looking for a resistance band to assist me in my weight training. I should say this band is one of the best I have ever used.

And the medium resistance is just perfect for starters and intermediate level of weight training.

I am a totally satisfied customer and would recommend this .

This band is great for muscle definition and toning! It really provides a tough workout after lifting weights and you feel the burn! I consider myself an intermediate with working out and the resistance is sometimes too difficult to me on some exercises! If you use Cathe Friedrich's workouts, then order this band!

The band is good quality and although it's labeled as "medium", I think I'd say "medium strong". I've ordered other medium resistance bands and this one is a little more resistant. I'm happy with it, though, and will probably be stronger faster.

The 6 foot long medium resistance Dyna-Band meets my expectations. It is the proper length and resistance for me. I bought the band as a replacement to the previous one that broke after several years of use. I like this one better because it is about 2 feet longer.

I bought both the green and purple to replace the band that came with the EA Sports Active game. So far, I've only used the purple. The green is a lot like what came with the EA Sports Active. The quality of both bands is good and the length is ideal for tieing onto the handles. I will buy more of these when/if the time comes. - Resistance Bands - Fitness - Physical Therapy - Exercise Bands'

Hip Scarf - hip scarf

I am new to belly dance. I am using it as a form of fun exercise and just for personal enjoyment. To get myself more in the mood for it, I decided to purchase some accessories. I got this hip scarf and it was great. it looks just as described and it even fits us plus sized ladies great. (I could fit it at a size 18/20 and I still fit it at a size 16/18..I jsut have more scarf to tie). I am also pear shaped so I am more fuller in the hips than most and the scarf still fits great. Royal Blue Belly Dance Hip Scarf with Gold Coins

Very good price and very nicely made. Don't know what's up with the toy questions, but this is made for belly dancin. You could wear it as an accessory but it probably wouldn't last long if you sit on the coins.

Great movement and sound, very well made. I am a Plus Sized woman, my size is 26W and I don't have any trouble tying the skirt around me (which is a huge surprise!) I love how sturdy and well made the item is. Just becareful, it's well made but with very delicate material and if you aren't careful you'll hook it on something and tear it. Luckily it's so affordable you can buy several. I will be buying more in the future as I learn more belly dancing and improve. - Hip Scarf'
