Covers - skins, covers

The case fits the Optimus V perfectly, and feels like it would give it a certain amount of protection from small drops.

Note that the case is more rubbery-looking than in the photo, which looks like a normal plastic finish on my monitor. I like the appearance as it looks like an outdoorsy, almost military finish. It doesn't make the phone stick to the inside of your pocket (which was my fear with silicone cases), but it is easier to hold onto than the plastic of the naked phone. The contours of the case also makes the phone feel more secure in the hand without adding too much bulk.

For a couple of dollars, this is amazing value.

UPDATE 3rd June 2011

The matte layer of the case started to peel about a month after purchase, to reveal a shiny plastic layer beneath. This has happened on the corners, where the phone is most likely to rub against pockets etc. It is now looking quite tatty around the edges, and I am looking for a replacement. Hard Protector Skin Cover Cell Phone Case for LG Optimus S LS670 Sprint - BLACK

You can tell just by holding it, that this case does the job right. It comes in two pieces that snap together around the body of the Optimus S (sprint) or V (virgin mobile) perfectly. I am highly impressed at the quality for the price i paid. It looks and feels sleek and seems like it should cost more :). Get one!

I purchased this as an inexpensive way to protect my new LG Optimus V. It is a very nice case and seems well made. Installation is a snap...literally. It took about 5 seconds to drop the phone in and snap it together. It doesn't add a lot of bulk to the phone and the rubberized coating hasn't been a problem in my pocket, although I haven't tried it in my jeans. There are no problems with lint collection that I have experienced on silicon cases. I only knocked off a star because I can't figure out how to get it off. I'm scared to muscle it for fear of breaking it. For the price, though, I will just order another one for a spare and consider it disposable. If anyone knows the secret for removal, feel free to chime in.

Update - I had some issues with the phone that required battery removal...several times. Removal was easier than expected. I was able to use a thin metal strip to pry the case off. One of the comments recommended a guitar pick which would have worked even better. After 4-5 times of removing the little plastic snaps/clips started breaking. I still recommend the case, but would get a spare and tuck it away just in case.

This item arrived on time and in great shape and you cant beat the price trust me i tried but for under 3 dollars common its a steal..the case went on with no problems at all and its a very durable feeling case with a nice rubber coating for extra comfort i would recommend this product to anybody i have seen cases of much less quality selling for 5 times the price

This case fits nicely and looks good when new. But after just a week or so the case started peeling and the matte finish gave way to a shiny black in some high-use areas.

The case is made up of two parts that snap together, which is problematic because the joint area is not very smooth and it's nearly impossible to open. I broke one of the little clips that hold the two parts together the first time I needed to open it.

This review is for the LG Optimus V, which is the Virgin Mobile version of the phone. It fits perfectly, with all of the open slots in the correct location. From what I've been told, not all of the Optimus phones are the same between service companies (e.g. Sprint, Virgin Mobile, T-Mobile, etc) in that buttons are in different locations so you may want to be careful. It doesn't jostle around at all - it's a nice, tight fit.

The case feels pretty flimsy when you take it out of the package and I was dubious at first before putting it on the phone. However, once encasing the phone, it had a nice secure and durable feel to it. I was pretty surprised. I also am a big fan of the texture. It has a sort of rubberized feel to it as opposed to hard plastic. Very smooth to the touch, and enough friction to prevent it from sliding around if you put it down. Luckily I have no issues with it getting caught in my pocket or picking up lint, which are problems that often plague silicone cases.

It does add a little bit of bulk, but nothing substantial. Same is true for weight. I barely notice it in my pocket.

One thing I've noticed is that the case has already become a little off its alignment. When you first snap own both pieces to encase the phone, the edges are nice and flush with one another. So you don't feel the edges sticking out. But after a couple weeks of use, I can start feeling the edges when holding it in my hand. It's not terrible in any way and it isn't very uncomfortable, but it's noticeable. My guess is that the plastic bent a little. Also, this sucker is really difficult to take off. This is good in case you ever drop it, but it's a pain if you need to take the battery out or want to clean the phone.

This is an awesome protective case for the price. It fits my Optimus V perfectly, it even lets me still use my carrying case, as it is a very slim cover. It comes in 2 pieces that just snap over the phone without covering any of the ports or controls. The shipping is very reasonable also.

If you're looking for a nice simple case, you can't go wrong with this one. - Covers - Case - Lg Optimus V - Skins'

Cable Management

As others have noted, this is a great product that does exactly what it says.

The adhesive is strong and long-lasting, and the clips are easy to install.

HOWEVER, (put on your "remembering" cap now because you need to remember this 10 years later when you un-install these things!!), REMEMBER, you cannot remove these by just "yanking" them off the wall.

As with all of these 3M wall hanging strips, you need to (a) pull up on the plastic clip so that it comes off and exposes the adhesive backing, and then (b) pull the little tab (it looks like the rest of the adhesive pad, but it's not actually stuck to the wall) directly downwards (pull just along the wall, NOT away from the wall). Then, the adhesive pad will stretch to about 8x its normal length, and in the process will gently un-stick itself.

It's a really elegant way to remove the pads, and it's the reason they can have such strong adhesive power without removing paint. But, IF YOU FORGET and in 5 years you just yank off the plastic from the wall, you will remove paint and it will all have been for naught.

3M has a variety of related products for hanging pictures and posters and what-not. I recommend them all. Command 17379 Cord Organizer Pack

I ordered these for training cables at the office but love using them at home as well. They stick forever but come down by just pulling the tab. No marks left on the wall.

This is one of those items that just does what it is supposed to and nothing less.

Order these if you need to train cables at home or office. I HIGHLY recommend.

This is a really nice assortment. You will probably want to go ahead and order 2-3 of this item. You'll love using them.

Still sticking. I had used these in my old place, too. They are easy to remove, and do not damage the surface. The loop holders can brake if they are exposed to too much force. Forces like being walked on a lot(took me 2yrs.), but even then they can still hold in place.

The only time I have had problems with the 3m Command Cord Organizers not adhering to a surface is in my kitchen (On oily Formica/oily paint-cleaning could not remove all the old tenant's worth of oil). When these pads do not stick, they really just do not stick at all! I pulled out my magic eraser, removed some paint layers with lots of oil. Then the cable holders seemed to semi-stick to my kitchen walls.

If I wanted the normal strength stick I'm use to, I'd buy new adhesive pads and try fresh. So, watch out for cooking oil! Other wise, I've bought these cable holders more then once, and will look for them again when I move to a new place.

This 3M hook removal system is wonderful. I've been using some of the decorative hooks and velcro-like pieces for a few years now, so when I started looking on Amz for wire management, I started with 3M. Beside the handy removal tabs, these little hooks are easy to open and close, while still being very sturdy. They don't have a huge amount of extra plastic, so they look OK on the wall. They also don't stick out very far. The large loop piece is downright cool. I have an extension cord with two adapters - one very heavy - hanging from this loop. For the smaller clips the package comes with small and medium sizes. They could use a large.

I bought a pack of small wire clips at our local hardware store to use in hanging a new Moravian star light on our front porch for Christmas. Before installing, I read the instructions on the package and saw they're not recommended for use under 50 degrees, meaning basically indoor use only. Ruh-row, it was about 28 outside when I was running the wire. I decided to try them anyway because I liked how the little clip fastens shut around the wire. Figured I could always use some heavier duty mounting tape if they came loose.

The light had a 5' cord so I needed to run a light extension cord up the corner post on my front porch to complete the connection. Needed three clips at the top to run the wire along the aluminum soffit along the porch roof. I made sure the soffit was clean where I was attaching the clips. Then, per the instructions, I pressed the pad firmly for 30 seconds when attaching to the clip, and again when I attached the clip to the soffit. They seemed to be holding solidly, and I couldn't pull them off while tugging on the wire.

To run the extension cord wire down the post, I attached four clips about 2' apart onto the white aluminum downspout next to the post. I used a white extension cord, so the job was nearly invisible when done, and the clip was just large enough to close around the extension cord wire.

After 3+ weeks of exposure to wind, rain and single-digit temps, the clips are still holding firmly. I'd originally intended to use this as a temporary fix for this holiday season, and put in more permanent hooks and wire channeling during the summer. But if these things are still holding when warm weather arrives, I'll leave them up and see how long they last.

These worked great to organize all the wires behind our entertainment center that run to the stereo and TV. Just make sure to let the hooks seat themselves onto the surface of where ever you install them before you put the wires in place. We waited several hours.'

Yanks Yankees Baseballfan - yankees

The quality isn't as good as I hoped. It only has the top 2 holes for fastening to the vehicle. The frame does not lay flat, so it rattles when you close the hatch door. I still have it on my SUV. Go Yanks. New York Yankees Chrome Frame

This Yankee frame has been on the car for a month. It looks great and seems to be holding up fine. Of course, a Mets one would be better, but what can you do when the boys of the family are Yankee fans.

Shipment of item very prompt and ahead of schedule. Item itself great quality with detailed writing. I had this frame on my vehicle for about a month and the shine is as new when I first install it. Highly recommend this item to any avid Yankee fan. R.I.P G.M.S. - Yankees'

Ankle Socks - hanes, ankle socks

Title says it all. They rolled down within 10 minutes of normal walking wearing saucony classics shoes. Sigh...I've gone through so many pairs of ankle socks that roll down, it's ridiculous. You'd think non-rolling down sock technology (like non-inverting umbrella technology) would be a solved problem by now, but I guess not. It seems quality elastic threading is something most companies either cheap out on or don't know how to get right.

I've only had success with 2 companies' ankle socks not rolling down: Nike and Brooks Brothers; but that was years ago, so who knows what it's like now.

I gave these 2 stars because they are soft and they fit pretty well. Hanes Classics Men's 6-pack Cushion Extra Low-Cut Socks, White, 6-12

I am a size 9-10 in Men's and these socks fit great. I especially like the all black color. However, I went to both Target and Walmart and noticed that the socks were much cheaper there so I would recommend going to the store first to compare prices. Otherwise, I like the color and the fit is good.

These are so comfy that I put them on and never have to ever pull them up or anything. Even despite the fact that I be moving around and kinda fast for many hours a day. Good socks, cheap price, no shipping or tax. AWESOME.

I have size 11 feet and they feel a little small for me. In retrospect I would by the size above. but maybe after wearing they will stretch out more and then I'll be glad I bought the size i did? otherwise comfy and very cushy/thick feeling even after 2 washes.

I'm not sure how much there is to say about socks, but these are comfy and thin enough so they fit perfectly with my running shoes. They are a bit big in the back so they aren't as "low cut" as I would have hoped, but I think that's because there is such a large gap of shoe sizes covered. No real complaints though.

I love them, they're like, super-padded, and they don't fall off at all. Don't listen to any of the jokers who say that they do. Get the right size for your feet and it'll be fine. Peace and love,

SockMan

These are just adequate socks. They stretched out fine to fit my very large feet. They don't slip down in back like cheap low cuts. However, I would never use the word "cushion" to describe these: they're actually very sheer for athletic socks, offering zero padding for your skin against leather or durable materials in your shoes. I expect that they'll suffer from holes and thread baring after just a few wears. Compared to Adidas' middle of the road low cuts (available at Amazon in 3 pk), these things feel paper thin while the Adidas feel quite substantial. For a couple of bucks more (or for the same $ at Costco for 6 pk!), the Adidas offer better protection and wearability. - Comfort - Hanes - Ankle Socks - Comfy'

Impact Driver Accessories

This is an incredibly handy set that I am SO glad I purchased.

As I'm sure most people do, I think I have about 10 different accessory sets in my toolbox at this point and most of them are more of the same - a bunch of #2 phillips bits, a bit holder and some assorted other driver bits. This kit has a few things that really make it stand out. #1, it includes 3 different socket sizes in it as well as an adaptor that allows you to attach any standard 1/4" drive socket to your driver. It also includes some very high quality drill bits in commonly used sizes, but the star of the show for me is the "flip bit." This is an incredibly cool little invention. On one end you have a #8 countersink bit and on the other you have a #2 phillips bit and with the included sleeve adaptor, you can switch between them within seconds which comes in EXTREMELY handy when doing finish carpentry.

I own a number of makita tools (including their outstanding LXT impact driver) and like all of those, this is top quality and I would recommend it to anyone who has an impact driver and needs a starter kit. Makita T-00153 17-Piece Impact Driver Drill Accessory Set

I bought the Makita 3 piece drill set with lithium ion battery's which is a great drill set. So I figured the bit set would be great to. I used ONE bit for about 15 seconds on some cheap screws to hang some blinds and the bit was completely ruined. They obviously use the lowest quality soft metal to make these. I'm in construction and I have never seen a bit go to waste so fast. DON'T BUY. GET A DeWalt set instead.

Shame on you Makita! The 1/8 drill bit broke on it's first use. The adapter that holds the drill bit- philips head wont lock down on the insert. I'm building a deck. I used the philips head and the deck screw broke the bit. Check your quality control...please! I love my 10.8 ion lithium impact and drill set. They're powerful...too powerful for your cheap bits. I waited too long to get a refund. Don't make the same mistake. Buy 'em, use 'em, break 'em (they self destruct) and send them back within 60 days. If enough of us to this maybe Makita will get the message and build powerful bits to match their machines.

This is a great drill and driver set for an impact driver. The bits that you use the most right at your fingertips. The #8 countersink is great quality and very sharp. The hex tool at the base is a great idea.

This is a must have for anyone's screw gun kit if only for the quick change counter sink bit. The quick change bit does stick a little when swapping the drill over the driver after prolong use, but if your a professional carpenter, you can expect something like this over time.

Do I use this a lot?: yes.

Would I recommend this to a co-worker or friend?: I don't have to, most of my co-workers ask me if them can borrow my kit.

I've been using the kit for a week for multiple jobs with a Makita Impact driver and a drill machine.

The drills are good, no wobbling.

The driver bits have worn out way too quickly for my liking. I think it's better to just get a set of low-medium quality driver bits with impact drivers.

My real gripe is the flip bit, the drill on it wobbles too much to make a quality drill. I could really see it being very useful, but because it failed so hard I had to use both a drill machine and my impact driver for my simple job.

The reciever broke after about 10 uses. Also the allen wrench needed to change out the driver tip and pilot hole drill is not included. They need to make it an eighteen piece kit ------- add the allen wrench.'

Face Cleanser

I bought this product about six months ago and was extremely delighted. In the evening before I go to bed I wash my face with this amazing cleanser. It is the most velvety, creamy sensation for your face.

I immediately bought one for my friend and after she tried it she said "when I applied it on my face I felt I should light candles, turn on music and shut off the lights.

Dreamy and cleany and sensational.

M. A. Rourke L'Oreal Paris RevitaLift Radiant Smoothing Cream Cleanser, 5-Fluid Ounce

I was using clean & clear, which I love, but it seemed like it just quit working for me. I used this & it cleared my face right up. I don't have bad skin to begin with, but this cleared up the small bumps I did have. Also, u don't need a lot- just a dime size or maybe even smaller, will wash ur entire face. You don't have to waste it so it lasts longer.

So far, so good! I'm 25 with oily, acne-prone skin and usually stay away from cream cleansers because I feel like they'll leave a residue or clog my pores and break me out. However, this is different from other creamy cleansers because it lathers up a lot and it's non-comedogenic (I double checked the ingredients to make sure nothing would break me out.) My skin's been weird lately since I moved to a drier climate and, even though it's still oily, it also seems to need a gentler cleanser instead of my usual harsh scrubs and acne face washes. My acne medications dry my skin out sometimes so I feel like my cleanser needs to be less drying but still clean my skin well. This does just that! I'm getting older too and starting to see nasolabial folds and I'm trying to "pamper" my skin more instead of trying to beat it into submission. This cleanser definitely pampers my skin. You only need a tiny bit because it foams up a lot (you lather it in your hand first and then apply to your face.) It cleanses well but doesn't strip my skin of moisture or leave a residue. My skin looked great after cleansing with this- healthy complexion and diminished pores. I still use my Neutrogena makeup remover wipes at night before using this because I don't think it would clean all of my makeup off on it's own. Overall this is a good buy and it will last me forever because a little goes a long way. I bought this on a whim at the supermarket without reading the MUA reviews (which usually ends up with me regretting not checking them first). It cost me $16, which is double the amount that it costs at Amazon (sigh, that's what I get for buying skincare at the supermarket!)

I ran out of the usual cream cleanser I use and took a chance on ordering a skin product I had never tried. I LOVE this cleanser! It is creamy, smells good and my skin feels and looks clean. It lathers up in to a nice, rich, thick lather and feels so good on my face. Great product.'

Packaging - packaging tape, packaging

The tape works OK.

The only thing I would note is that this tape feels a little stiff and you need to make sure to press it firmly against boxes or whatever you're sealing. By that, I mean that the tape feels like it's not very sticky. I've used other tape guns with different tape that is more sticky and flexible, but I don't remember the brand... I might post it if I remember.

Anyway, this tape works just fine. I might be splitting hairs by saying other tape is more sticky, because I've sent several packages using this tape and never had a problem.

I would probably buy it again, but if you will need a lot of tape, you might want to test a roll to see how you like it before buying dozens of rolls that you don't like. Scotch Packaging Tape with Dispenser, 2 Inches x 1000 Inches, Clear (142L)

I bought this tape because it looked handy with the dispenser. It does stick and had no problem with the packages but I regret buying it because it makes lots and lots of noise. I quit using it and looking for less noisy ones, if anybody knows a brand that makes less noise please let me know, I will appreciate it. - Packaging - Packaging Tape - Packing Tape'

Healthy Living - yoga bag, healthy living

This yoga mat bag works well and it does hold the Yoga Mat by Aurorae, Ultra Thick, Extra Long with Focal Point Icon and Illuminating colors that define your Inner Self, although it's a bit of a tight squeeze getting the rolled-up mat into the bag. I like the bag's netted mesh panels that help to ventilate the bag interior, and the strap allows me to sling the bag comfortably over my shoulder for carrying. YogaAccessories (TM) Large Nylon Zippered Yoga Mat Bag - Purple

This bag is described as large. IT IS NOT EVEN REMOTELY LARGE. It's not WIDE enough for my wife's Yoga mat (Manduka brand. Because the bag opens via a zipper that runs the length of the bag, and because the strap is attached at either end of said zipper, the opening is several inches narrower than the length of the bag (which is just BARELY as long as the width of the mat). Thus, you can't get the rolled mat into the bag.

I finally got the mat into the bag, but I had to fold the rolled mat in the the center to get each end to fit into the bag opening. For those not familiar with the procedure, folding a rolled Yoga mat in half is similar to ripping a phone book in half. My wife is not interested in ripping a phone book in half after each of her Yoga classes.

If the zipper were around the circumference (so the end came off like a flip top), or if the zipper was the full length of the bag (not several inches short), this wouldn't be as much of an issue.

The price is the only good thing about the bag, but that also means it's not worth the cost of shipping it back, so we're out the purchase price of this item.

The product description should AT LEAST state the product's dimensions, especially if a product called "LARGE" is in fact... NOT LARGE.

This is a good purchase. Its a bit of a snug fit for my 1/4 inch thick mat, but it works if the mat is rolled properly. I like the fact that it has a small pocket which can be used for items such as keys. I just wanted a no frills bag and this works really well.

This bag goes well with my YogaAccessories 1/4'' Extra Thick Deluxe Yoga Mat. They are of the same color and the size fits well. The only problem is it's not so easy to put my mat into the bag. Not good design.

For the potential buyers, this bag is quite small. So be very careful about the size.

This bag works great for my 1/4" yoga mat. I purchased the purple bag. Nothing fancy just a standard bag that holds my yoga mat. I am happy with it, the zipper and the straps work. That's what I paid for and that's what I received.

I ordered this bag in black expecting to receive a black yoga mat bag. What I received is a mesh bag that has a HUGE logo on it. That's definitely not in the description. Aside from the bag being hideous, it smelled when I took it out of the plastic.

I'll keep it just because it's easier than returning and buying a new one, but I'm not satisfied with what I received.

the bag itseslf is nice, it's the right size and all, but it has a bold logo in the front that says "HOT YOGA Aerial Fitness & natural wellness center, HOT PILATES" with a picture that looks like a woman dancing on a stripper pole. (sure if you look at it closely it's like, a pilates move or something..but it looks like a stripper)

Not exactly what i want people to think i'm doing. the logo's a deal buster.

I really like this bag! I use it for my YogaAccessories 1/4'' Extra Thick High Density Yoga Mat, and it fits absolutely perfectly, including some wiggle room. I thought it would be difficult to get it in and out but it's not at all. I have only used this once so far so I can't speak about its durability over time, but it's very cute and does the job! I also like the little pocket inside, the only thing that would make it better would be a small strap or something for a water bottle, but now I'm just getting picky :)

I'd call the pink more of a dirty rose pink (if that makes sense) vs a bright bubble gum pink like it looks in the picture.

Either way, it does the job, and the price isn't too expensive compared to what I've seen in retail stores! - Healthy Living - Yoga Mats - Yoga Bag - Yoga Mat'

Easy To Use - 9v, aa

Maybe the old saying you get what you pay for would apply here to a certain point. This battery tester was only a few dollars and is simple plastic, but it does do the job even though the battery being tested has to be aligned just right or you will get a false reading. The tester has it's share of pros and cons, but the bottom line is that it does work and that outweighs the cons. 4 stars is what I would give to this product. Battlefield - vietnam, shooter

I have Bad Company 2 on Steam. When I purchased the Vietnam expansion on Amazon, I simply entered the code in the Bad Company 2 main menu and Vietnam was activated without any problems. All of the content for Vietnam was apparently in the last huge patch for Bad Company 2. Vietnam is multiplayer only so those looking for a single player game have been warned. Overall, Vietnam has a different feel from BC2. The maps are huge and open, each of them are unique. There are five multiplayer maps total and all of them take place outdoors. The jungle experience and scenery is captured perfectly in this expansion. I found myself getting shot by Vietcong in rice paddies and facing intense close combat fights on jungle paths. The downside to the openness of the maps is that you will have to deal with a lot of snipers, more so than in BC2.

There are about four unique weapons for each class and the perks attained in BC2 (magnum ammo, extended mags, vehicle upgrades) are available to use. Shooting and aiming with the weapons is more difficult with just iron sights as scopes have been removed (except for sniper rifles) as well as UAVs and other high-tech equipment. It seems like the weapons do more damage also. Its pretty intense when you are facing RPK machine guns and "thumper" grenade launchers in the jungle with a beat-up M-16. This game just feels gritty and realistic.

I'm enjoying this expansion, its much more challenging and realistic than BC2 and requires a fair amount of skill and teamwork. I definitely recommend it if you liked Bad Company 2. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam - Expansion [Online Game Code]

I actually like this expansion pack better than the original game and find it difficult to go back to the regular BC2 game any more. Why? Because the weapon hit detection is much better in the expansion, much more like BF2 or 2142, plus different weapons that are fun to play with. More than anything though, with the maps, the hit detection being correct, and the additional weapons, it's just more fun to play than regular BC2. Oh, and no annoying Gustov spamming. There are RPGs, but they're so slow and have so little splash damage they're hardly ever used on infantry which is a welcome change from Gustov and noob tube spamming. Lastly, the Huey's fly well, not at all like the ones in regular BC2 that handle like boats...and did I mention flame throwers? :)

Unlike some other reviewers I like the original maps in BFBC2 better. In most of the Vietnam maps sniping seems like much more of a problem than in the original maps, even though the weapon gadgets, like scopes, were apparently cut back to try to reduce it. It may also be that the hacks are all on the new maps with their aimbots. So be prepared to die a lot, even if you're no longer a noob on the original maps.

It's worth it, but not unless you like playing Battlefield Bad Company 2 to begin with.

Just buy it on here and check your order status, the code will appear.

Open BC2 and click Vietnam, enter the code you printed out from your order confirmation.

Play the BF2: Vietnam soundtrack on your ipod and rock on.

Cheers

well sadley i ordered this from gamestop.com which they charged me a ridiculos 4$ "download Insurance" as they called it. But for anyone whos a fan of the battlefield series an has been playing bad company 2 for a while, the expansion definitly adds some fresh air. no single player but battlefield is all about the multiplayer anyways. great dlc. all good maps except for one. all in all if you have bfbc2 buy this expansion.

Side note: I still perfer the original bfbc2 multiplayer but i tend to enjoy urban more so thats jus me.

I like this pack because the russians were the one enemy in a lot of popular shooter games, now i can be a vietcong soldier, is funny listen to them talking; but seriously the helicopter gameplay was modified and is so much better, you can do so many movements to avoid tank's shots, i love also the boat, the maps are bigs and you can cover with a rock or a tree, you can burn down all enemy soldiers with a new flame like the one of cod waw. I only dislike two things of this pack and is the easily way to kill, you die with few shots and the second one is the limited number of primary weapons, only 3 for each kit and 3 for all kits.

I bought BC2 and I loved it. After leveling to rank 10, I tried out Vietnam expansion and boy it's fun!

The thing I hated about BC2 is that there are way too many vehicles around. Most of Vietnam maps concentrate on infantry fights, which I love. The theme is also great, I really like the sound and atmosphere. If you have Bad Company 2, get this now!

It's also very easy to apply. You get the code here on Amazon. Launch Bad Company 2, and redeem your code on the main menu. That's it!

Highly recommended.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam - Expansion

This is by far one of the funnest expansions that I have bought on a game. Dice has done a great job with the originality of this Vietnam expansion pack for BC2. I highly recommend this to any avid gamer, PC or console.

This will continue to be enjoyable even a year from now!

I have owned this several months now. It is a very solid game as far as graphics and sound. Some of the best you can get right now. The gameplay is a little difficult to get used to as it is very different from Battlefield 2. Character movement and control feels very different and the weapons feel much sloppier, which I suppose was done in the pursuit of realism but it detracts a bit from the gameplay. It doesn't get a 5 star only for the fact that I really do not think the vehicles were as good as they could be. Helicopters especially really feel underdeveloped and unrealistic. Tank turret turn speed is not customizable and it is too low for my taste. Besides those flaws I still do think it is a worthy entry in the Battlefield series. The Vietnam expansion is definitely my favorite mode to play over all the basic content. Wireless Pc Headset - bluetooth headset, telephone headset

Pros:

Great sound

Comfortable Headset

People report it sounds great on their end

Good battery life (for the month I had it)

SoSos:

the noise cancellation didn't cancel noise (but do any of them really?)

The software driver for the headset is convenient, but only because configuring through the LCD is laborious.

Cons:

The LCD touchscreen is nifty, but it takes longer to change settings than on the 9350.

The mute is hard to reliably hit

slight background hiss With the volume up high

Overall:

I've returned the 9470 because of the two cons mentioned above. It just isn't living up to being the "next great thing". Hunting for the mute was the biggest pain (See below). Though my upgrade to the 9470 proved unsatisfying, I've just placed an order for a fresh 9350... "ol' trusty". Both of these headsets are better than anything else I've seen, but the older 9350 still beats the shinier 9470.

Background:

I've been a big fan of Netcom/Jabra headsets since I bought the 9350 a few years back. I am on the phone 9+ hours a day sometimes for my job so I want something crisp, clear, with good range, and a long battery life. Years of daily use took it's toll on the 9350 and it was time to replace it. The bells and whistles of the 9470 looked great. LCD screen, noise cancellation... It was the next step in evolution. The battery isn't swappable, but I hoped the slightly longer battery life would defer the need.

Setup wasn't too bad. And the headset was definitely as comfortable as my 9350. All in all, it's a solid product with good sound in and out, but it doesn't outshine the 9350 like I'd hoped. The noise cancellation it touts doesn't seem to cancel anything: music, other conversations, dogs barking... it's all still there. Granted, it was there with the 9350 too, so this was a wash. The volume couldn't get as loud as the 9350 either (I like the phone audio loud), but that was a minor nit.

Another minor annoyance was the background hiss... as I like my audio loud, turning it up provided a background hiss that wasn't a huge problem but in pauses between speakers it was noticable and slightly distracting.

The biggest issue for me was the mute button. On the 9350, it's a physical button on the back of the headset. So you know when you push it. That's good. With the 9470, the volume and mute are driven by touching the touch sensitive part of the earpiece (the extension of the boom that covers the ear directly). Turning mute on/off is done by doubletapping the center of that strip. However, in the month I used the headset, I never could reliably find the spot. I hop in and out of mute semi-regularly while I walk or open the fridge. Having to stand there tapping on my ear over and over looking for the sweet-spot got pretty frustrating.

This is also where I'd like to recommend to Jabra that they add a tiny red "mute" LED onto the boom that can be seen out of the corner of the eye. Having to wait for the 10sec repeating mute-beep to be 100% sure you're in mute is as annoying on the 9470 as it is on the 9350.

I still recommend the Jabra line over all the others for having the most advanced and comfortable headsets out there. They can't be beaten. but unless you desperately need the bluetooth capabilities of the 9470 (I didn't), then I think you're better off with the Jabra 9350 than the Jabra 9470. Jabra Pro 9470 1.9G Trilink Sys Trilink Pcusb Phone Mobile

I wear a headset for hours at a time in my home office. It's usually for business calls using my landline deskphone, skype (internet "soft phone"), or my iPhone. For quite a while I've used a Plantronics headset that only worked with my landline phone, and occasionally struggled with bluetooth headsets for my laptop and iPhone. These bluetooth headsets generally reduced the sound quality.

Versatility --

With the Jabra Pro 9470, I can now switch seamlessly between my deskphone, my computer, and my iPhone. If I get a call on my deskphone, I just have to pick up the headset from its base, and lift the deskphone receiver handset off the hook, and the Jabra headset jumps to work. Same thing if I get a call to my iPhone. Just pick the headset off its charging base, and it jumps to work. I leave my computer audio in/out settings on the Jabra 9470, and since it supports wideband audio, I can use the headset for just about any kind of audio content. And it uses DECT 6 for the wireless connection between base and headset, which doesn't interfere with any other wireless connections that may be in use around the computer or the house.

Sound quality --

The earpiece speaker is excellent, and has good volume range control. The mic is also very good. Setting the mic volume uses a clever idea: the base touchscreen walks you through calling a friend and having them tell you how it sounds while you make your adjustments, though I'm not sure why you can't do this while on a regular call. I work in a quiet setting, so it's hard to tell how well it would blank out extraneous background noise.

Mac compatible --

I have a MacBook Pro, and really struggled to find definitive reviews about using this headset with a Mac. It comes with PC software but not Mac. Not seeing any "Windows only" messages, I took a chance and ordered it anyway. Turns out the Mac "just finds it" as a USB headset, and I can go to the System Preferences > Audio control panel to select it for the computer speaker and/or microphone. My iPhone connects to it via Bluetooth. And the deskphone connects by plugging the deskphone's handset cord into the back of the Jabra 9470.

The installation wasn't completely intuitive, but I fiddled with it till it worked with all three inputs. Definitely worth the effort. I'm now ordering the GN 1000 handset lifter for those times when I'm wandering around my house while wearing the headset, and want to answer a call on the deskphone.

I just can't get over how much more versatile this headset is than the one I had before. - Telephone Headset - Jabra - Bluetooth Headset - Wireless Pc Headset'

finish nailers - finish nailers

I bought this tool to replace my old Paslode finish nailer. I was first skeptical about the magazine and housing being all plastic and almost bought another brand that still used aluminium. It has held up, but the tool is taller than the old one and does not seem to have enough power. I have also had several driver blades break in only three months. I will put this one on the shelf and either look for a used old Paslode model or switch brands completely. Paslode T250S 501680 16 Gauge Straight Finish Nailer

Used a paslode for years. Went to another brand in a 15 gauge. forgot how much I missed paslode you can shoot howe casing without changing guns. The inside bead you use a 18 gauge or crown stapler usually. The only draw back it does'nt hold as well as a 15 gauge, just criss cross nails on crown. I have had this gun over 2 years without a problem. It is light, well balanced no complaints.I have a home improvement company and this is my favorite gun. They still make the best framer to. - Finish Nailers'

Surfcasting - fishing, surfcasting

I was an average surf caster, until I bought an old copy of John Holden's book Long Distance Casting. I studied that method, but couldn't get the hang of it. Then came Ron Arra and Curt Garfield's Ultimate Guide to Surfcasting. One can make the analogy between the Wright brothers airplane and a modern aircraft with the Holden book and the Arra-Garfield product.Ron Arra goes into great detail about position, form, and posture, all necessary to achieve significantly greater casting distance. He also recommends rods and reels which I have found to be the best one can obtain. Aside from these considerations, the book is as easy as it is enjoyable to read. The Ultimate Guide to Surfcasting

Hopefully, Ron Arra will write another book with more competent guidance. He is a great surfcaster and fisherman, but there are problems with this disappointing book. The main shortcoming is dreadful illustration -- the pictures reproduced on cheap paper are photographed from the wrong perspective with the wrong lighting. The drawings are sparse. You simply cannot see the fishing rod and line position that are the subjects and purpose of the illustrations. Because the book is billed as "Complete Instructions for Longer Casting..." you would expect an A-B-C guide to surfcasting. Other useful information may be ferreted out of what reads more like edited taped interviews of fishing advice and yarns illustrating how to fish. That is not all bad -- you may learn a few tricks as you re-read this opposite-of-a-textbook. If one looks beyond the sparse drawings and bad pictures, one can garner some good tips that may come in handy. Two things learned from reading the book over and over, trying to absorb the wisdom therein: you can cast very far if you know what you are doing, and the Eastern Seaboard has some great surf fishing. I am in in the Pacific Northwest where surf fishing mostly results in tasty perch. I was hoping I might find some wisdom that would reveal there are bigger fish that prey on those perch in that very same surf. This is an East Coast book that needs serious revision. This is a little weird as Lamiglas in Western Washington State makes a terrific line of Ron Arra rods. They need to buy him a Washington fishing license and finance a few months of surf fishing research. I believe there is a hidden fishery that Ron Arra could uncover.

Reading the reviews before I received the book, I had plans of returning it unopened. Well curiosity got to me and I opened it and read quickly through it. #1 the print and pictures are too small. #2 the pictures are in black and white . #3..the book appears to be written in the 1950's. Read all the reviews here..and you'll know what you are getting!....The only plus thing is the reduction in the price..I would say the 12.00 price from amazon saves this purchase from being a total disaster. Don't get expressed shipping since it will make the total purchase price 23.00 which is too much for this book..

The Ultimate Guide to Surfcasting is a WINNER!It is very informative and covers all aspects of surfcasting and much more! The illustrations and step-by-step photographs are extremely helpful and the Tips chapter is priceless. I also find the Stan Gibbs: Still the Master, Tune Up for More Distance, Taking Care of Your Gear and Yourself chapters good read and refreshing! This is probably one of the best fishing books I've read in a long time and I highly recommend it for those who thinks know it all! Thank you Ron Arra and Curt Garfield for their dedication and knowledge sharing.CONGRATULATIONS and GOOD FISHING!Alberto Knieaka: "Crazy" Alberto

I am always searching for something, anything that will allow me to improve my techniques when it comes to fishing, I found it with this book. This book helped me to understand and build stronger casting techniques and now I feel a lot more comfortable surfcasting. I also had a lot of questions on what gear to use and this book includes a section with excellent examples of gear choices and how to set them and a real eye opener on how to tune your reels to keep their performance smooth. The knowlege that Ron Arra has shared in this book will definitely increase your confidence and distance in the surf. Thank you Ron Arra and Curt Garfield for taking the time to introduce this great piece of work into the sportsmans world!

Ron Arra and Curt Garfield have teamed up to put everything you need to know about surfcasting in to this short and tightly written book. It has improved my ability to reach out and connect with striped bass and blue fish. I bought my copy last winter and will be buying two more as stocking stuffers for my sons. Both like to fish, but never have tried surf fishing. I'm a contributing editor for Nor'east Saltwater Magazine and read just about everything published on saltwater fishing on the east coast of the US. This book is outstanding! The first five chapters alone are worth the price of admission.Bob Creeden, Athens, NY

As an avid surfcaster, this is a very informative book for both the novice and seasoned veteran, especially if you are interested in improving your overall casting distance. The illustrations detail different methods of attaining distance to where you can reach the fish. The book also tells you about how to set up your gear for this type of casting and how to maintain it so that it is working properly. I found it to be easy reading not technical to the point where it slowed you down, and with the soft cover version, you can take it down to the beach while you pratice, to make sure that you are doing everything in proper order so that you can get the distance you desire. Overall I felt this book to be outstanding and a must for every surf fishermans library.

The Ultimate Guide to Surfcasting contains chapters on techniques, equipment, rigging, fly casting for distance, proper presentation of lures and baits, a chapter on Stan Gibbs and "Starting youngsters off right" just to name a few. Mr. Arra covered all the bases with this one. I couldn't recommend this book more!!!Every surfcaster should read this book due to its great information on many important aspects that are needed be a better fisherman. The Ultimate Guide to Surfcasting is bound to be an instant classic. - Fly Fishing - Surfcasting - Fishing'
