Shoot Digital Cameras

I was able to get this model a little early, and was excited to try it out in - what better city to test a camera? - Paris. The last Sony snapshot camera I used was on a trip in 2007, and I was so dissatisfied with that camera that I sold it immediately after returning home. I was eager to see if Sony had improved their entry level cameras, especially the picture quality. I shall post some pictures to offer examples up in the product details, but these will be reduced in size for posting.

Photo quality: My initial day out indicated that they have made dramatic improvements in both quality and speed. Photos in daylight were crisp and clear in just about every shot, and any that weren't were only because I was shooting poorly on purpose to test the photos. I was also quite happy with the quality of shots in low light and indoors, which is where I noticed the most improvement over past Sony low-end offerings. There was some blurring in darker situations, of course, but for the most part the software was able to produce images that are well balanced and low grain. The 14 megapixel feature is great - there are many photos I've been able to crop and retain quality, and photos of, say, a stone sarcophagus can be zoomed in upon when viewing images later to see very good detail.

I must also mention that the camera is very good at balancing photos. It almost always produces a picture with an appropriate contrast, and only in the worst cases did the image wash out in an area. For example, a shot of Joan of Arc (the statue, not the person) in Notre Dame came out very well even with a stained glass window in the background. The stained glass was bright but distinguishable, and the detail of the stone statue was clear and well balanced. Only in extreme cases - such as a shot of a black sculpture in the Louvre with a window behind it with blaring sunlight - did the camera fail to balance the image, but these are the kind of bad photography shots one would never expect a camera to take well.

Types of Photos: Like most all snapshot photos, this camera will perform best shooting still subjects with plenty of light. Moving objects didn't tend to blur, a problem I'd had with other cheap snapshot cameras, but the response time can make getting these shots difficult. Trying to capture a motorcycle passing an old church, my 7-10 attempts were mostly good photos, but getting the moving bike in the exact spot I wanted was nearly impossible.

Features: Overall, this camera lacks in features, although for most uses I found it sufficient, and at the price I didn't expect a lot of extras. The 4x zoom is relatively fast and easy to use, and about right for this type of camera. I was surprised there was no optical zoom given the high megapixels, but I can live with cropping on the computer. The panorama mode is nifty but not that useful - it works quite well in creating a long image, which of course will cause distortion in most cases. To use this feature, you set the mode and clich the shutter. The camera will prompt you to move it from left to right, and then it will generate the image (which is always impossible to see on the display owing to its shape.) Here I would have liked some add'l features - there is just 'one size' for panorama shots - you must sweep all the way across or the image will fail. This creates many shots that will need to be messed with on the computer later, which is okay but annoying. I was also disappointed panorama doesn't work in an up and down orientation - you always have to sweep the camera in the same manner. You can, of course, hold it sideways to create a vertical panorama, but I really wanted some vertical shots tqking advantage of a larger width. Still, panoramas of the Tour Eiffel allowed me to create some fun, unique shots of the full height of the structure. There are not many other features - just some rudimentary quality settings, face detection, etc. Some might want to move up to a camera with more features, but I actually appreciated this in a point and shoot camera.

Battery life: Here the camera could use some help. Perhaps I'm spoiled by my Apple products, but digital cameras have more or less remained stuck in 2002 concerning batteries. It's annoying to have a separate charger, and battery life isn't great. Three hours of shooting...granted, constant shooting...at St Denis drained it. Given how light and small it is, I'd fully support doubling the battery size to get twice the life. I'd also love for camera makers to start to move toward USB charging options.

I'd also love it if cameras would start incorporating some onboard space. It feels like the dark ages to have to buy a card. 2 - 4 gig of onboard memory with a card slot for expansion would be nice.

Overall, a great, small, fun camera that's easy to grab and go. I wish Sony would re-imagine some of the ways digital cameras work, perhaps taking some cues from iPods, especially regarding batteries, but for the price this nifty unit is great.

Pros: Excellent pics for camera in this price range, good color balance, good in darker spaces, a few fun features

Cons: Battery life could be better, charging options, not many features or in-camera editing options Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-W530 14.1 MP Digital Still Camera with Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar 4x Wide-Angle Optical Zoom Lens and 2.7-inch LCD (Black)

The intelligent shooting mode is great--it detects different scene types (landscape, sunny, cloudy, etc.) and auto-adjusts the exposure settings to get the best picture. Picture quality is great. It also has a movie mode that takes nice videos. The mic for the audio is a little weak but it is only a point and shoot camera, so a so-so mic is to be expected. The panorama mode is very easy to use--just point and sweep while holding the shutter--and the camera automatically stitches everything together with no overlap or missed sections. I've used panorama mode at a baseball stadium and at a lake and got great detail in both settings.

The battery life could be a bit better, but it lasts for at least 8 hours of shooting. I was turning the camera off and on a lot, which had a bigger drain on the battery, I'm sure.

I first used a SanDisk 4GB Memory Stick Pro Duo with this camera, and the camera would not read the card properly. I even reformatted the memory card with my computer and the camera still would not read the card. I finally purchased a SanDisk SDHC memory card that works fine. Others have had problems too with the SanDisk Memory Stick Pro Duo, so be careful with that.

Pros- Intelligent mode for automatically adjusting the settings; picture quality; movie mode and panorama mode; good quality for the price.

Cons- Rechargeable battery could last a bit longer; Battery is specific Sony battery that can only be charged from a wall outlet with the included charging doc; Mic is a bit weak for audio when shooting movies.'

Motivational Books - motivation book, motivational books

I dont understand why people hated this movie so much. I have been a huge green lantern fan since i was 7 so ive been waiting for this movie for 13 years. The visual effects were great. The story (even though innacurate to the comics) was good. Ryan Reynolds played a near perfect Hal Jordan. The only problem was Hal was kinda whiny in parts in the movie which he never was in the comics. Blake Lively played Carol perfectly. The only problem I had witht he movie was the fact it wasnt long enough. The movie was only 1 hour 40 minutes. To fit in more character development and more story it should have been atleast a 2 hour movie. Didnt get enough development on the other lanterns, and the only ones you meet are Sinestro, Kilowog, and Tomar-Re. Even then you didnt get much of them. They need to make a sequel and go more in depth on more characters........the scene during the credits set up the sequel beautifully. Overall I loved this movie I sat in aww with goosebumps the whole movie (maybe because ive been waiting for this for years), but it was a really good movie. People complain because it wasnt realistic and goofy.......Has a superhero movie ever been realistic or not goofy in some way thats why we read and watch superhero movies to believe in something unrealistic. Green Lantern (Three-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo + Digital Copy)

As a DC Comics fan, I liked the movie althought I thought the movie's ending was way too comic-book like with Hal Jordan and Parallax. My wife, who does not read comics books at all, liked the movie as it introduced her to the Green Lantern Corp and the other characters.

I will probably get this, as it was announced this week (week of August 21st) that the Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D releases include an Arkham City bonus of the Sinestro Corp costume for Batman. I stated the Arkham City bonus here, as I could not find a way of updating the product information with this.

So, if you're a Green Lantern fan and an Arkham City fan, then you probably want to seriously consider getting this release.

I'll admit up front that I wasn't that familiar with the Green Lantern character before this movie. In fact, if I hadn't have talked to a friend who was a fan of the comics, everything I knew would have been from watching the old "Justice League" cartoons on Saturday mornings -- the ones in which Green Lantern was just another random face in the crowd. At least he wasn't the Wonder Twins, but Aquaman got more love than Green Lantern on that show. Thankfully, my friend explained why Green Lantern is so cool. I mean, having the power to create anything you can imagine... that's pretty awesome stuff. Obviously, the more imaginative the person, the better, and that was my main concern going in to this movie -- that the things the writers came up with for Green Lantern to create wouldn't be that creative. But I think they actually did a pretty good job in that department. Of course you have to keep in mind that he has to come up with these things on the spot, without a lot of time to sit around and think about it. The movie does have its flaws. There are a few scenes that feel cliche and it could have used a bit more action and a longer end fight, etc., but I still found it to be a fun, inspiring movie overall. I loved the "courage overcoming fear" storyline. As it turned out, it was the best time I had at the movies all summer.

Green Lantern has received quite a bit of flak from reviewers for not being mainstream enough to relate to modern audiences. And that's a shame, because if Green Lantern is guilty of anything, it's of being a SUPERHERO movie.

Back before all these directors started streamlining films, revising backstories, and taking out Spider-Man's technologically-advanced web shooters, comic books were a glorious hodge-podge of the near possible, the impossible, and the just plain fantastic. Because superhero settings include every superhero and villain imaginable, they have to accommodate magic, aliens, superscience, and alternate dimensions in one heady mix. This makes for a very rich comic book series that can be intimidating for new audiences - which is precisely why movie directors cut out so much.

But you can't cut all the crazy out of Green Lantern and still stay true to the comics. And so, with tons of exposition, Green Lantern rabbit-punches viewers with world-shattering fact after mind-altering fact in the first five minutes: aliens exist, there's a giant yellow monster imprisoned in a planet, ancient humanoids predating humanity have been guarding the universe with green willpower, and there's a dizzying variety of highly advanced technical races from across the galaxy. Green Lantern makes Superman's backstory look quaint. His name doesn't help either - Emerald Flashlight has to say an oath that activates a ring that's charged by a lantern that's powered by a planet that's actually the embodiment of all sentient beings' will. No wonder critics got confused.

)o()o()o( "I pledge allegiance to a lantern, given to me by a dying purple alien." - Hal Jordan )o()o()o(

Director Martin Campbell knows all this. He makes fun of the ridiculous circumstances in which Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds and his fab abs) finds himself, ranging from a dogfight with two robot jets to a dogfight with a giant soul-eating monster. Part of what makes Green Lantern so entertaining is that it embraces its pulpy roots: there's the childhood sweetheart (smoking hot Blake Lively as Carol Ferris who just happens to be a successful businesswoman and fighter pilot), the nebbishly awkward villain (Peter Sarsgaard as Hector Hammond), and tough-as-nails "red Spock" Sinestro (Mark Strong). The real villain of the piece, Parallax, sounds like a 1980s video game effect - oh wait, it is! This is not a movie to be taken too seriously.

)o()o()o( "It's not a magic ring--it's a ring powered by advanced technology!" - Hal Jordan )o()o()o(

And yet, Green Lantern is no movie trifle. The challenge with a superhero who has powers like Green Lantern is that the possibilities are literally endless - the rings are powered by the hero's will, which means he can technically imagine anything. This also means that an abusive hero might imagine black holes and solve all of his problems that way. Green Lantern cleverly constrains these god-like powers by imposing plot-related restrictions on Hal's creativity. When all Hal can come up with to stop a helicopter from crashing into partying guests is a Matchbox car in a ramp, it's because he played with one in his nephew's room the day before. When he's trying to use the sun's gravitational pull as a weapon, it's because he used the Earth's gravitational pull as a weapon against the two jets earlier and because his tutor Kilowog points out that gravity is a...uh, harsh mistress. Hal Jordan might always manifest boring weapons straight out of a first-person shooter, but that's because he's harboring a lot of guilt over his military daddy's death.

)o()o()o( "You thought I wouldn't recognize you just because I can't see your cheekbones?" - Carol Ferris )o()o()o(

Speaking of daddy issues, Green Lantern is one giant ball of forest-colored father/son conflict: Hal and his military pilot father, Hammond and his successful senator father, dead Abin Sur and grieving Sinestro, Abin Sur and the newly created Green Lantern, Parallax and his newly adopted avatar Hammond...it's clear the Green Lantern writers were looking for some emotional hook, and that hook was spelled out D-A-D. Green Lantern tries very hard to be deep.

Unfortunately, Green Lantern can be pretty shallow at times. Parallax, remember, is an ancient being predating much of humanity's evolution, but he falls for the oldest trick in the book. We're supposed to believe that Parallax really, really, REALLY hates Abin Sur and everything associated with him. After he kills Abin Sur, you have to ask why Parallax wants to go after just Hal Jordan when he could be eating so many other Green Lanterns for breakfast.

When Green Lantern goes big, it's glorious, but when it pulls in tight, the plot turns an earth-shattering battle between god-like beings into a schoolyard shoving match. But really, that's pretty normal from superhero comics. It's just that today's movie superhero fans expect a guy in a cloak that's just like you and me without any of the world-spanning baggage.

Green Lantern's guilty of being true to Green Lantern, spandex, mask, ring and all. For those who find it implausible, maybe a superhero powered by a jade-colored light source isn't for them. - Motivation Free - Motivation Book - Motivational Books - Blu-ray'

Dumbbells - dumbbells, weight training

Plates come with a nice sand finish. Good condition, proper weight. What more could you ask for?

EDIT: I ordered more 10lb plates from the seller (same entry in amazon, same everything). What arrived was a different set of 10lb plates. While both are perfectly fine with me, be aware there may be differences in reviews depending on the luck of the draw. My first set of plates were Champion brand, the second set, while still 10 lbs and standard sized, were generic "made in china" brand. Both are just fine, however. Champion Barbell 10-Pounds Standard Flat Plate

There isn't much to say about the weights. They are good and sturdy. However, WARNING, if you order more than one, like me I ordered a lot, the packaging is not good. My boxes where recieved completely torn apart. It was the same with the multiple 25lb wieghts I ordered.

These are 10 pound weights. They weigh 10 pounds and have a hole in the middle that a dumbbell handle fits perfectly into. I bought 16 of them and each one is functioning as perfectly as the day I bought it. I have used them for 1 month and they still weigh 10 pounds and the hole is in the exact same spot.

The image was very unclear so I uploaded my own. I wasn't sure what they would look like and how thick they would be. They are thin pancake plates so you can load many on a dumbbell. Packaging looked sketchy, box beat and torn up, but none of the plates were damaged except one with minimal paint scratches.

I've been using the standard plates from esportsonline for many months and I have no complaints. They have very good prices for their items and have the most reasonable shipping charges I've ever seen.

I mean come on if you really need a review for some weights then you obviously aren't serious about working out! I needed some flat plates for my dumbells and these are definately worth the cash. They fit perfectly! I picked up 4 of them and the shipping was only about $7. Stop wasting time looking for anything cheaper and order some of these today you will definately be more than satisfied. - Weight Training - Dumbbells - Weights - Exercise'

Excellent Socks - socks, excellent socks

When I first ordered bamboo socks I just wanted to see what they were like. After all, I had never heard of fabrics from bamboo, so I had to see what all the fuss was about.

I first tried bamboo viscose in socks from Docker's about 2 years ago. Amazon didn't yet carry Docker's, so I had to order from Sears. At that time the Dockers bamboo socks were about 80% viscose from bamboo. Without doubt, these were the most comfortable socks I had ever worn. They were too fragile for the dryer though and had to be hung to dry slowly. My only complaint is that the socks all started to develop holes in the heal area about 2 years later. So 80% viscose from bamboo socks were not that durable.

As I went to reorder these socks, two things changed. Sears no longer has any Dockers bamboo socks --- but thankfully Amazon does!!! Dockers has changed the percentage bamboo blend. These socks are 40% bamboo rayon vs 80% Viscose from bamboo I was used to --- so although only slightly thinner, I expect them to be significantly more durable than the prior formula - and these can be dried in the dryer!

I am now totally hooked. Bamboo socks are definitely my favorites. They are cool in the summer and warm in the winter. They are luxurious beyond description. They wick moisture away from the skin and are both anti-fungal and anti-microbial. Once you try bamboo socks, you won't ever want anything else. Dockers Mens 3 Pack Bamboo Rayon Pattern Socks, Black, 6-12

I bought these for my husband, as his 'gold toe' socks weren't holding up in the wash very well. These socks are super soft and luxurious looking. We look rich! :) So, I ordered two more sets--another black, and one in the light brown. Just wish they had a darker brown selection.

We discovered bamboo socks about a year ago. They are the sotftest socks I've ever worn. And you know those times you need to wear socks to bed because it's too cold or your under the weather or whatever? The socks stay on all night and when you wake up your feet are so warm and comfy that you forget you have socks on until you put your feet in slippers or on the floor and you notice the socks. This is so different from cotton or synthetic socks that come off in your sleep all by themselves. Plus they are absorbent and anti-bacterial. All I could ask for is more colors. These socks are for my husband, who likes his socks longer than crew, shorter than knee high. Sometimes they can be hard to find and yet here they are, made by Dockers.

This was my second order from Amazon for the same pack of socks. I'm slowly replacing all my dress socks to Dockers as I've been very pleased with the comfort and quality of the socks. Most dress socks I normally get are overpriced and do not last after a few washes. These have been going on strong for a while now, hence my decision to purchase a few more pairs.

So far these socks have been very comfortable and durable. I ordered these in Navy and in Black, I am looking for Gray or Dark Brown, but so far no luck.

I have some pretty rough heels so that is usually where I wear out socks the most, but these socks have held up against the forces of my dry skin.

Also, we live in the Southwest and it gets hot (But It's a dry heat, you know, like a fireplace or an oven). Well, I haven't had issues with excessive heat causing any discomfort while wearing these socks.

Also, the elastic is still going strong and I ordered these about 4 months ago with heavy use on a daily basis.

I wouldn't have to keep buying more! :-)

I guess that goes to say that they both really like these socks. Someday I'm going to declare a "sock hop" - I'll pull out my poodle skirt and put some Elvis on the iPod and we'll hunt down all the stray socks and match them up. Until then, I'll order more of these when needed.

Honestly - it's a nice sock and my husband likes them. - Argyle Socks - Excellent Socks - Socks - Dockers'

Plastic Folder - plastic folder

My kids always have to have very specific types and colors of folders. They are difficult to find even before school starts when supplies are plentiful and are near impossible to get mid-year. Here I got the configuration I needed (pockets and brads) in a durable poly and was able to get the color she was missing - red. Even though they're a little pricey I think it's still cheaper than driving to 6 different stores to try to find them locally. Five Star Advance Stay-Put Folder, Green (72111)

I have always used paper/cardboard folders up until I found these, well I used other cheap plastic folders. All in all my every folder last about a week til I got these, these last me a year through highschool, I never cleaned them out, and didn't even rid get destroyed nothing to me it is a miracle folder.

I love these types of folders! Instead of carrying around a bulky 3 ring binder, I just use one of these instead. Strong and durable! They last for a couple years too without breaking. I just bought a purple one to replace the one I've been using for about two years.

so much better than using the folders that are made of paper or cardboard and definitely know that this folder will last for years. if it breaks or gets stretched out i would totally but another one of these folders - Plastic Folder'

Internet Radio

I am a long time owner of Squeezebox products and was pretty excited to find out about the little table top Squeezebox Radio model. I picked one up and thought I would share my thoughts.

The first thing you notice is how much heft this little player has. It is really well built and the fit and finish is superb. It has plenty of weight and solid rubber feet so that it won't skid around on your night stand or table top. The screen looks great and all of the buttons have a nice solid tactile feel. Compared to many other cheap wireless network streaming radios, this device feels an entire order of magnitude better in its construction quality. The only disappointment here is the lack of back lit buttons, for using the radio in low lighting. It's also worth noting that the entire radio has a high gloss finish that will be a magnet for fingerprints. Looks great though!

The biggest challenge for most consumers with this device will be the initial set up. You need to create an account at [...] in order to set up your new Squeezebox Radio. The device uses this connection to play free internet music services as well as download software updates, etc, to the Radio. I already had a Squeezebox account so this was not a huge challenge for me, but it might be for some people who might be confused that they need to set up an account before they can use the device. There is an option to set up the account from the device itself. Don't do this (it is slow and tedious)! Go to the website and set it up in a few seconds and then just type your login and password on the device.

Other than the laborious task of entering my full email and password for [...] the rest of the setup is very easy. The Squeezebox Radio supports push to connect wi-fi set up which is common on many newer model wireless routers. It's similar to programming a garage door opener. Simply point the Squeezebox Radio at your wireless network and for 120 seconds it will try to connect with the push to connect functionality. Then just push the connect button on your router and it's automagically all set up.

Once set up the Radio will update its firmware and reboot, a process that takes a few extra minutes. After that you are good to go.

In addition to the many built in free online services, you can also play your own music through the Squeezebox Server application. I run the Squeezebox Server application on my HP EX495 Windows Home Server but you can also run Squeezebox Server on any Mac, Windows PC or even Linux box (there are even installable distributions for many Network Attached Storage units). This allows the Squeezebox Radio (and any other Squeeze players) to access all of the music on my home network. It's absolutely wonderful to be able to take the little table top radio anywhere in the home and listen to your entire music collection.

Sound quality is very good, easily enough to fill a small to medium sized room. It gets quite loud with little to no distortion and the controls are easy to use to change tracks, change volume, etc. Wireless strength is superb. I get a full signal anywhere within about 40 feet of my router, and the radio works anywhere on my suburban property with no audio hiccups or dropouts.

In addition to the intuitive controls such as "home", "play", "stop", "back", etc, the unit also features six programmable "preset" buttons similar to what you have on a car radio. Setting these up is a bit more of a challenge than you would expect. You are supposed to be able to hold these down on any song, album, playlist, etc, that is being displayed in the radio menu and have it added as a preset. Unfortunately some items don't add correctly and must first be programmed as a "favorite". It turns out that you can only add favorites for some items (such as playlists) from the Squeezebox Server web based menu, which is quite inconvenient. I don't doubt that Slim Devices (the arm of Logitech that makes these devices) will fix this soon enough.

Other minor glitches include some weird alarm behavior (it will show the time of the alarm when it is going off but strangely won't show the current time, which is annoying if you have hit the snooze button a few times and need to know what time it is), some auto dimming issues (the auto dimming works great but gets almost TOO dim in a dark room to see the radio) and a few other very minor nits.

Slim Devices have a long history of enhancement and improvement of device firmware, so I would expect a lot of these issues to be worked out in the coming months. Additionally there will soon be a battery pack and small infrared remote for the Squeezebox Radio available as a $[...] add on purchase. Personally I think at $[...] the Radio should include these items, but considering the great sound of the radio, the high quality screen and the superb fit and finish it is justified that this device costs as much as it does.

Also worth noting is that if you have an iPod Touch or iPhone you can get the iPeng application $[...] from the Apple App Store which makes controlling and programming your Squeezebox Radio an absolute breeze. iPeng is really a must have if you have these devices and want a wonderful pocket control that works from anywhere in your home. Beats the pants off of what Sonus has to offer!

//Update 1 (Nov 2nd 2009)

Yesterday my SB Radio lost all of the preset buttons which is most annoying. It also turns out that many of the requests for fixes around the alarms functionality have not been addressed and don't appear to be scheduled to be addressed in the next release or two of the software. If your primary use will be a night stand alarm clock I would recommend holding off for now until Logitech addresses alarm functionality issues. If the issues are not resolved I will reconsider my four star rating as it should then be a three star product.

//Update 2 (May 13 2010)

Logitech has not only not fixed many of the initial annoyances with the SB Radio, but newer firmware has in fact made the product less stable and reliable. It still does an admirable job of playing your local music library if you run the SB Server on a PC or Mac in your home, but the network streaming functionality seems to be having issues and I've found the alarm to be terribly unreliable. I would now under the current circumstances rate this only 3 out of 5 stars. It's really a shame too, as the "Slim Devices" that originally brought us these problems was very open and communicative about issues and what was being done to fix them. Logitech has little interest in relaying useful information to its beta testers, err, customers and instead gives us the run around with if and when issues will ever be remedied. The whole review is summed up *nicely* in the title to this review; I had to purchase THREE of these kits to come close to completing my dust collection run in just a (former) two-car garage! Surely, this can't be the only time folks have come up needing 2 of these to finish the task. At the prices they charge, they need to double the lentgh of wire they offer. Received the dust collection system it goes with very quickly and that was just what I was looking for, but the ground strap never made it. It was refunded with no questions asked, very quickly, once I sent an e-mail of explanation. I will be re-purchasing it. - Dust Collector Accessories'

Cascade - cascade, bathroom faucet

We just remodeled our two bathrooms and installed this faucet in both. Easy to install and no leaks. Here are the things to keep in mind: you need a deep sink or you will need to adjust your water pressure to avoid splashes; If you have 3 holes drilled on your counter top you will need to purchase the 4 inch plate to cover the additional 2 that aren't needed; You will need to purchase the separate plunger (stopper) since its not included. We absolutely love the look and are very pleased with choosing this faucet for our remodels. Euro Modern Contemporary Waterfall Bathroom Vanity Sink Lavatory Faucet Brushed Nickel

Only having a kitchen faucet installation under my belt, I was a little unsure of installing this by myself. However, after getting the old one disconnected, this one went on perfectly. Looks great, no leaks. Love it.

Just beware, it doesn't come with the little plunger that makes the stopper go unp and down in the sink bowl. I just reused my old one. Luckily it fit, or else it would have been an added expense.

I purchased this beautiful faucet and installed it last month. this month it is spewing brown water. The aerator is nearly rusted out. I have contacted both Amazon and Modern Design to seek a solution the look is great but you get what you pay for. Having a material that rusts as an aerator is a pretty significant design flaw. In fact upon closer inspection the aerator is nothing more than a rolled up metal screen. UPDATE

Modern Design was more than gracious and helpful is resolving this. They over nighted a new set of screens to me the next day and after 60 days of use I have not seen any rusting. They also told me that they set about testing each batch to see if the screens rusted for them. I am very happy with their timely and effective service. Stephen was professional and truly took ownership of my issue.

I love the design and functionality

Purchased this faucet and was really excited about the great design and very reasonable price. Unfortunatelly, it leaks.

It came without the faucet-end of the supply lines installed in the faucet itself, something I have never experienced with other faucets I have purchased for many other projects. The machining on the fixture is uneven and the threads seem to be going in off-center.

I attached it until it was tight even though it didn't look quite right, and it leaked immediatelly when I tested it by attaching the other ends to the supply (I tested it before I installed it, because it looked so iffy going in). I know what you're thinking, I just "didn't do it right" but I sweated in the supply pipes to the sink and toilet, installed all three shutoff valves, replaced a section of the the soil stack, installed the drain and attached the toilet line without a single drop of water on the floor (when I tested the faucet, it did not leak at the supply end).

There is no 800# for support or customer service, so I have fired off an email to the company in hopes that I just got a bad one as oppossed to this being the way they are machined.

Will give another review if it gets resolved well.

We got this to pair with one of the new vanity sets we have. Unique contemporary styling and the brushed nickel finish is easy to clean. Beautiful waterfall water flow. We have had this installed for over one month now and have had no problem. The faucet is sturdy and well built. We believe it will last for a long time. We are pleased with the purchase and would recommend this faucet to the others.

I purchased this faucet to replace an old faucet in my bathroom. The package arrived without any damage. The faucet looks great and feels heavy and sturdy. The faucet came with all the hardware for installation which is great. I was worried about not able to replace the faucet myself, but decided to give it a try. The whole process is easy and straight forward, only took me about 1 hour to complete the job. The waterfall effect is beautiful and the faucet handle moves smoothly when turning on and off the unit. It's been few weeks after I installed the unit and I have no problem at all with it.

Item was reasonably priced and relatively easy to install. It was however used and I was expecting a new one, but it still looked new anyway. I definitely liked how the water flows out of it. Pretty cool

This faucet leaked the first time it was installed. I couldn't exchange it because my bathroom was completed after the limited time period.

I should have realized there would be a problem when I read their's leaked also. - Bathroom Faucet - Cascade'
