Surge Protection - outlet, surge protection

Worked out very well to add extra power outlets under a kitchen counter. Only downcheck is the wall plug which forces you to have 3-4" space for it and the power cord when you plug it into an outlet. A flat plug that would only stick out an inch or less would be better. Fellowes 6-Outlet Strip (15 feet)

Satisfied with construction quality & performance. I use these for the workplace rather than allowing people to use extension cords. Any connection point is a potential failure point so this helps reduce outages/problems/reports of issues with power to devices.

Due to the weight of the cord versus the lightness of the strip hard to get it to sit straight. Found a heavy 20 ft strip at the local hardware store for about 3 dollars put the one from amazon in drawer not using at this time.

I discovered while setting up a new home entertainment center in the living room that I needed more outlets, but at the same time I wanted to eliminate use of an extension cord I had been using with my previous power strip, which had only a 3 foot cord. This was the perfect outlet power strip for me as the cord was heavy duty and is 15 feet long, thus not requiring me to use an extension cord. It also has a lighted power on/off switch and I like that as it allows me to determine quickly if the strip has power or not. Only drawback, not to me but perhaps to others, is that the outlets are evenly spaced, which means this strip is not the best power strip if you have a lot of power adapters you need to plug in. This was not a problem for me however as I also have a short strip designed specifically for plugging in power adapters only and I just plugged that strip into one of the outlets provided on this strip. Very happy. Would buy again! I should add this strip is not a surge protector and does not provide surge or power protection.

This LONG surge protector is great...especially when you have a limited number of wall outlets to work with. No more setting up your desk in an awkward location just because that's where the outlet is! This thing is just like a normal power strip...only it has a 15ft cord.

In an office environment, this 15 foot power strip solved a shared office issue where the standard 6 foot powet strip cannot accomidate a new desk. The product works great this this is the 5th unit I have purchased - Surge Protection - Power Strips - Outlet - Power Strip'

Ipod Touch 4g Screen Protector

I have tested many varieties of screen protectors over the last two years. The Empire 3-Pack for iPod Touch 4 is by far the best I have tried. I was able to place this on immediately and, to my shock, there were NO bubbles! I am very happy with this. EMPIRE 3 Pack of Screen Protectors for Apple iPod Touch 4 / 4th Generation

The Empire screen protectors for the Ipod Touch 4g are an amazing product. Like the reviewer before me said, it's very easy to apply and doesn't leave any bubbles. It doesn't slow down the reaction of your Ipod, the cut outs are well cut and nor does it affect the coloring, they're just amazing and I would recommend them to anyone.

Easy application. A couple bubbles appeared near the bottom of the unit, BUT thats because I was too hasty and missed a couple of dust particles during the cleaning. Can't even see it now because of the case I put over it. If you take your time, you'll have no problems with application and no bubbles. Can still navigate through the ipod menu without any issues, so the touch sensitivity is still just as good as before. Excellent cover.

I have bought a few different types of screen covers for Ipod's over the years and this one was by far the easiest to put on. It went on so easy that I couldn't believe it. I have fought with other ones over the years and still had air bubbles underneath. What makes this one so good is that it has peel-away for the bottom (sticky side) and also one for the top which is great because as you are installing it and use the little card scraper you don't scratch your new cover! Simple and ingenious! Don't even think....BUY THIS!

BTW - I also put one on my daughters Gen2 Ipod touch and it fit good. It doesn't go all the way to the extreme edges of the glass on the left and right sides but her cover goes over that part any way so who cares!

I was so relieved when these screen protectors actually worked. I have a generally frustrating time with applying screen protectors; either they are too flimsy and instantly attract dust particles, or they don't fit the device properly. Thankfully these ones are top-of-the-line. It wasn't a time-consuming dreadful process, and my I-Pod looks sleek (no air bubbles here!) and is well-protected. Try these over the cheap, mediocre screen protectors...they are worth the little bit of extra cash.

Bought these after looking a long time for the thick screen protectors. Goes on easy and even comes with a plastic card to smooth bubbles out. Nice and thick plastic, perfectly clear and the holes line up great. Definitely would buy these again if I need more.

Protector comes with a cloth to clean the screen face before installation. Installation is fairly simple as long as you are patient and don't rush it. It took me a few times to get it on straight without bubbles, but it always peeled off easily without leaving any residue behind. It seems thick and durable enough to protect the screen from scratches well. It's very clear and doesn't affect the visual clarity of the ipod's screen. It doesn't really cut down on fingerprints much, so if you're like for a protector that minimizes fingerprints, this isn't the one to get. Overall it seems to provide good protection and you will barely even know it's there! Good product. I also have a case that I put on afterwards and this protector didn't affect the case's installation at all.

Have only used it for a day, but it went on easy and works great. Using your finger on the screen isnt as smooth as using it without the protector, but it's really not noticeable and does NOT affect performance at all. Nice product.

i picked up an iPod touch 4th generation along with some iPod screen protectors. I did not know they were anti-glare so i did some hard research. With help from the reviews, i decided to go with the Empire Screen Protectors. They arrived from California to Wisconsin just THREE DAYS after my purchase, and they are by-far the BEST screen protectors i have seen/used. they were easy to put on, and the 2-sided film used to protect the screen is GENIOUS! i look at my iPod now, and i can't even tell i have a screen protector on it. I would have liked to know that they were no anti-glare before the order because that gave me kind of a scare when i opened them, but it was all worth it. all in all, FANTASTIC product.

Because I didn't really know what I was doing, I went thru one before I figured it out, and there are some air bubbles near the edges and around the facetime camera, but that's because of my limited knowledge about such things and I applied it without being as careful as I ought to have been. Once I figured out what I was supposed to do and got it on I was very pleased! Item also came right on time. I haven't had them for longer than a few hours, but for as long as I've had it on (thru trial and error) I feel very satisfied about the product. Cheap, prompt, and exactly as advertised. I'd recommend these to anyone!'

Verizon - case, verizon

I purchased this item for my Verizon iPhone 4 and I can very pleased. It does the job of protecting my phone and is attactive and very affordable. I love all of the fun colors it comes in and my phone feels very secure in the case. elago S4 Slim Fit Case for AT&T and Verizon iPhone 4 with Logo Protection Film (Hot Pink)

I got this case as well as the less-shiny black version. I like the not-shiny (the "soft feel" or whatever they call it) one more, because this one allows the phone to slide off from any surface. It fits well, looks cute, and doesn't add any bulk (it's thicker than a skin, but since it's not really meant to protect the phone from falls like a silicone case is, the plastic is very thin). It will not protect the phone from major falls, but it will protect it from nicks and scratches and corner-dents from shorter falls (or the scratches that the phone accumulates just by having it in a handbag or in a pocket next to keys, or whatever).

Bottom line: cute, can change colors by changing cases, doesn't add bulk, but will not protect the phone from major falls and is very slippery.

Great case. My wife had a different case for her iphone, and she was not that happy with it. One of my friend's had the elago case, so I knew what I was getting. These cases look very nice, so I decided to buy 4. After my wife found that I had 4 covers, she quickly snagged two of them :(.

Works with Verizon and AT&T iphone. Again, great case!

I ordered the hot pink one and love it, very nice shade. Mine arrived in perfect condition. It is a very thin plastic cover with a slick shiny finish. It fits the phone so perfectly that it feels like it is part of the phone. The S4 is flat around the sides giving it a uncomfortable boxy feel in your hand. This cover rounds the edges out and is still easy to grip making the phone feel so much better in my hand. I also love the round window in the back exposing the Apple Logo. I'm going to order the blue one next. This hard plastic shell is perfect to use with a pouch or in your pocket. Need I mention the unbeatable price.

I love this case! The color is very cute, and it fits perfectly on my Verizon iPhone 4. I love how slim it is, and I have had no problems with it "sliding" out of my hands. I would definitely recomend this case!

In the past, I have purchased similar iPhone cases elsewhere for a much lower price. I decided to "splurge" on this case assuming more quality equals more protection. Except in this instance, a higher price did not equal higher quality. For about three times the cost of my previous cases, this is the same thin, cheap plastic. Further, the case came damaged with a deep, white divot on the bright pink front edge. I returned it (a painless process), and for the same price, purchased three better-quality cases (at least the plastic is noticeably sturdier) on the other site. - Pink - Case - Verizon - Iphone 4 Case'

Run Small Waist - pants, work pants

I returned another version of these no-iron pants for the comfort waist. The pants are true to size and well-made despite a few threads. As with the Gap and Docker brands of black chino pants, these pants need to be flipped inside out before going into the washing machine otherwise you will need to use packing tape to remove all the lint that attach to the entire surface of the pants. Dickies Industrial Comfort Waist Cell Phone Pant, Black, 34W x 34L

Thinner than the 874 Original Dickie.

Yet all inside pockets are made of a thicker cloth?

Nice elastic waistband parts. A good feature...

A few loose threads sticking out. Poor quality control I would not expect from Dickie...

Cell phone pocket (with snap button) is a great idea.

But my smart phone is to long to fit upright and may get scratched by the metal button inside. I kinda have to turn it on its side to fit which is uncomfortable while sitting down at my desk. And my cellphone skin gets linty inside the pocket...

Great idea. It just dosnt work for me. I'll stick with the original Dickes in the future... Ill have to clip my phone to my belt... - Mens Jeans - Pants - Jeans - Work Pants'

Gun Books - guns, defense

It's about time a woman wrote something for women that actually takes into account real women's issues. We don't have the same body shape or size as men. We have other responsibilities than men have. She starts off with the basics of why it is really worth it to carry a concealed weapon. She's talking to you, the mom, the grandma, the sister, the college student, etc. I've had discussions with other women before about where exactly we're supposed to carry a concealed gun and still appear fashionable (i.e. not appearing to have gained an extra few inches around the waist or having to wear the ugly vests or fanny pack). She goes through all the options (even including how to attach a thigh holster). How do I pick the best gun for my small hands? What should I bring with me to a firing range? This book is great for both the beginner and for the advanced. She brings in many aspects that you will have to deal with in all honesty...like how to use a portapotty while carrying your gun. She is also a Christian and makes reference to Biblical support for some of what she says. As an added bonus, this is just a fun book to read. She is amusingly honest. You might learn something too along the way. I would recommend this book to all women and those who want to help a woman learn how to use a gun. The Cornered Cat: A Woman's Guide to Concealed Carry

The Cornered Cat is a comprehensive view of self defense, focused primarily on a woman's viewpoint of defensive firearms. Kathy Jackson writes in a rich, clear tone, addressing both humorous and serious topics appropriately. As a police firearms instructor for over 12 years, I found Jackson's observations to be logical and practical. I even learned a few things that will be personally useful and will help me better teach female students.

Dynamic physical movements and skills are difficult to convey using only the written word. Although Jackson does an outstanding job, a few line drawings or black & white photos would have enhanced the material.

I strongly recommend this book for anyone, female or male, that is considering the need to take responsibility for their own security.

Kathy Jackson not only knows firearms and self defense she does it with a style that we can all understand. Reading her book is like sitting down and talking to your best friend. This book is as valuable to men as it is to women. Gary Slider Handgunlaw.us

This is going to be one of those books that I buy twice so that I have a lending copy and a keeping copy. I've already lent it to one of my female friends who is learning to shoot. There's a good amount of gender-neutral information in the book -- the author's discussions of safety rules, the ethics behind use of force, and making sure that you stay on the right side of the law are good reading for anyone interested in guns. However, there's a lot in here that specifically addresses womens' questions as well. When I was taking a three day pistol class, I joked with my friends that I had to ask three guys how to go to the bathroom with a gun on... and none of them knew! (You don't want to accidentally drop the thing in the toilet, or freak out the woman in the next stall!) Kathy Jackson knows, she's happy to tell you, and I wish I'd had that kind of helpful advice from someone who's been there back then. She talks about issues that commonly come up for women, from finding the right gun that fits your grip to navigating possible complexities in your relationship if your partner is bothered by your choice in self defense to the realities of adjusting holster and draw methods designed for male bodies to fit you if you're curvier. Most of the people who ask me for help learning to shoot are female; I'm glad to have this resource to point them at which specifically addresses our concerns and experiences.

This is a must read for any women who wants to get her head wrapped around a true self-defense mind set. Readers will enjoy the straight forward writing by this female author who knows her topic well. I am in the process of developing classes for women in self-defense with a handgun and will be using this book as recommended reading for all my students. This reading will make a great gift from any man who wants to provide self-defense education to a woman he cares about. This book is not just for women but for anyone who is interested in personal protection.

After reading a handful of other self-defense and firearm books geared toward women I have finally stumbled upon an amazing informative book. I am quite familiar with Kathy Jackson's website as well as her writings in USCCA. She is very knowledgeable and brings to the public a much needed book spoken in clear concise terms. Although she states this book is meant for women, I feel that both genders would benefit from this book even if only to help the men in our lives understand the obstacles us women have when it comes to carrying/shooting. I discussed some of her tips and ideas with my husband (an NRA instructor) and he felt this book was excellent in so many ways. She takes the basics of self defense and use of firearms and then breaks it down even further for even the very beginner to comprehend. Kathy uses language in her book that neither belittles women nor treats them as a lesser, weaker species. She touches upon some emotional and moral aspects of using self-defense in a way that allows the individual to do some deep introspection. She discusses both sides of issues and backs up her own beliefs and actions with level-headed reasoning while also stating, "this is how I do it, it may not be how you do it".

As a shooter and avid belief in self-defense being an individual responsibility not to be taken lightly, I have found Kathy's book to be the very best book in this category I have read to date. I highlighted many parts in this book for further reference and believe I have walked away from this book a more educated person who is committed to not becoming a victim. - Guns - Concealed Carry - Defense - Self Defense'

Laptop Cooler - laptop fan, notebook cooler

This is one of the few laptop coolers where the fan blows air directly on the computer instead of trying to suck the hot air away from the computer bottom, and it is highly effective! I have tried the Antec, Targus CoolPad (original model), and a couple of others, all of which suck the hot air instead of blowing directly on the computer bottom. Targus recently came out with a newer two-fan, non-suck (ie. direct blow) 4-port USB cooler which also cools great (bought that one too), BUT it sounds like a jet plane taking off. The noise is absolutely intolerable. I exchanged it for another, but the noise was the same. The Belkin F5L001 has one VERY quiet fan blowing directly onto the computer bottom, and does a great job. I have no complaint with the build quality, and the tilt door seems to work fine. One thing that MUST be noted (as a caution) is that if you do not use the built-in tilt stand (a little door that folds down from the cooler body), then the fan air intake will be blocked, thus possibly damaging the fan and/or preventing airflow for cooling. If you use the cooler on a flat surface, you MUST use the tilt stand. If you use it on your lap, use the tilt stand also, or position your legs/clothing in a way to allow good airflow to the fan intake. I was surprised this was not a caution item in the instructions, and I think failure to abide by this caution is probably the reason for some of the failures/complaints in the reviews on this product. I can't comment on the longevity of the cooler, but so far it seems to run in a relaxed fashion, IF you keep the fan intake clear. In summary, I have about $150 worth of various coolers, and the Belkin is the best by far. Whatever you do purchase, make sure it is a blow-cooler (blows air onto the bottom of the PC, rather than a suck type. After all, how do you cool a hot piece of food on your fork, or a hot liquid etc.? I dpn't suck the heat away, I blow it away. Thermal dynamics seems to confirm blowing is the most efficient, and I don't understand how the engineers decided on the suck type. The Belkin is Excellent! Good luck. Belkin F5L001 Laptop Cooling Pad

I've had this Belkin laptop cooler exactly 3 1/2 months. And from day one until yesterday , it did a reasonable, although not perfect, job of keeping my laptop cooler.

However -

This is a noisy cooler, and, from time to time, the fan has stopped dead. But the real problem came when the port for the connector popped out. It is nowhere to be found, so this cooler must go back to Belkin. Meanwhile, I'm suffering a very hot laptop.

Now I realize that a $30 cooler is not the high-tech equipment that you expect to deliver outstanding performance.

But, really -- 3 1/2 months of use, and then Splat? Even from the least expensive peripheral, I would expect better performance.

On the positive side, the design allows for air circulation by lifting the laptop away from whatever surface you're using. And, when working, it does reduce the heat my laptops produce. So it's not entirely useless.

Two stars!

Update: January 18, 2007

Belkin's replacement cooler arrived today. While I was out the cost of shipping, the replacement itself was provided quickly and at no charge. So far, it is working well. We'll see how long this replacement lasts.

UPDATE: February 3, 2008

The fan on the new cooler has stopped --- dead. So, I've gotten approximately three weeks service from this new one.

Not a good omen.

I will return this one for a new one, but the shipping on these coolers is adding up to more than the actual cost of the product, so this will be my last try. If the third cooler fails, I will ask for a refund.

I really like the design of this cooler, so I am very disappointed that the quality is so poor. Amazon will not allow me to change the stars, but if I could I'd change my rating to one star!

I've had the Belkin laptop stand for about two weeks now, and I've been pleasantly surprised at how effective it has been at channeling the heat away from my laptop. When I opened the box and examined the stand, I thought it looked too flimsy to do any good. Now, I find that I use it all the time. True, the flip-out part does little good and I don't use that, but even when I forget to plug in the fan, this stand still keeps my laptop cooler than before.

My laptop's temperature sensor also tells me that the stand is effective. Prior to getting the stand, the sensor ranged from 44 to 51 degrees (Celsius), depending on what I was doing. With the stand, and with the fan running, the temperature usually stays in the high 30s.

I wish Belkin had recessed the plug and provided a channel for the wire, because I occasionally get it tangled with the laptop power cord. But for the price, it's a good investment. - Notebook Cooler - Laptop Fan - Laptop Stand - Belkin'

Apple Accessories - adapter, headphones

I am totally frustrated with Apple and their iPhone. After 4 months, their "minijack" is compatible with almost nothing. This adapter came to our rescue! It should be noted that we got the item as pictured both times that we ordered.

Pro:

-Will use to connect my iPhone to my Bose noise-cancelling headphones, something impossible until now

-Good positive contact with both the iPhone and my Bose headphones, won't wiggle loose or break connection

-Clear sound

-Connector doesn't stick out of my iPhone very far, unlike other ones I've seen

-Short cord... not a tangly mess

-Price!

Con:

-Small and black: at risk to be lost

-Since my original purchase and review, one of my connectors, after relatively little use, failed. Glad I have several extras!

Bottom line: Recommended. I bought 5 more of these since my first... one for my Bose headphones, plus some for my wife and a few as spares, with each one working well. I will add a word of caution having had worked in electronics: in my experience, jacks and plugs have a higher defect rate as they as they tend to be made off-shore and in mass quantity. I did a lot of research and believe that this unit will give you not only the best price but also best unit too. Apple iPhone iPhone 3G iPhone 3GS iPhone 3GS iPhone 3G iPhone Stereo Headset Extended Adapter 3.5mm - Black

I ordered of these from Bargaincell. What arrived doesn't work at all. A regular 3.5" headphone jack does not go deep enough into the female end of the adapter making it unusable. I'm trying to return.

This cable frayed internally and started cutting out after two uses. Completely cheap, you get what you pay for I guess. I'm getting the Griffin now which looks to be of much better manufacturing quality.

I purchased this item and it would not work when the headphone was plugged in all the way...the sound was muffled. But it worked fine when the headphone was plugged in 3/4 of the way. Eforcity sent me a replacement at no charge but unfortunately the replacement doesn't work at all.

This device is junk - poor quality and does not work.

This adapter worked with my iphone and my pricey Ultimate Ears headphones for about a week before the left earphone cut out entirely. I was on a 10-hour flight and was able to get it to work on occasion only by firmly applying sideways pressure to the jack. Anytime I let go the left ear cut out again.

To confirm it was the adapter, I stopped at radioshack back in the U.S. and got a Belkin for $10 which works great. I do not like the rigid Belkin model as much in design as this flexible cord, but this thing is useless. It was cheap enough that I will not bother to send it back, but don't waste your time or money.

In addition, I waited over a week for the item to arrive. When I inquired to the company about delivery date, they sent me a standard reply that shipping could take 7-14 days, even though it was stated to be "In-Stock" and I selected standard 5 day shipping.

I originally ordered 2 of these, figuring quality might be an issue. I was able to get half audio out of one and none whatsoever out of the other - they were complete junk. The build quality was so bad that it was physically difficult to plug into/out of them. Bargaincell offered to replace them, and today, over a month after I originally placed the order, I received one adapter (which is very notably not the 2 that I paid for). It works, but frankly, I get the strong impression mine was handpicked so that I would lighten up my review from the first 2, which were functionally not even close to this new one. Do not buy this product or from this company.

This item arrived and did not even work properly! It has a horrible connection and only one of my headphones (left channel to be specific) worked. I instead bought the griffin product which works GREAT. DO NOT BUY THIS IT DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY!

It does what it needs to do. I wanted to be able to use my iPhone as an iPod in the car and works really well and is unobtrusive with the black car jack. I bought two, just in case I lose one. It works just like it is supposed to. Highly recommend. - Adapter - Iphone Adapter - Headphones - Jack'

Hp Calculator - calculator, hp calculator

I have purchased for myself, the HP17bII+ (call it 17B2+), a new toy, for work, leisure and experimentation during the X'mas holidays.

MY FIRST OUT OF BOX IMPRESSION,is sadly, that HP has really compromised the build quality of its financial/business calculator range by outsourcing its manufacturing to OEMs.

Cosmetically, the new sleek case design looks nice but its rubber-plastic(?) feel really softened up and "cheapened" the 17B2+ vis-a-vis its predecessor.

Although "product feel" is very subjective thing but I suppose every faithful HP calculator owner would tell HP that this is PARAMOUNT to their continued patronage of the HP financial calculator line.

The handsome leather-like carrying case which accompanies the HP17B+ package won't make it look as professional as the solidly built as the 17bII or the rival made TI BA2+ professional, nevertheless it is a welcomed bundle.

MAJOR HARDWARE IMPROVEMENT of the LCD DISPLAY is a welcomed upgrade, the new display is generous contrasty and clearly viewable from all angles. The other stated hardware improvement though hardly noticeable to the normal user is the upgrade of memory to 28k.

FUNCTIONAL IMPROVEMENTS include mainly the CURRX foreign exchange conversion function, it is the only nice to have addition, although experienced users would tell you that this is not really essential.

RPN MODE on the 17B2+ is IMHO not as good as the HP12c perhaps due to its vertical form factor and button design. The <enter> key is smaller than the HP12C/12c Platinum on the and also certain functions like power ^ has to be accessed via the shift key.

BUTTONs on the HP17b2+ are tacit but has a very "plastic" feel, it makes you question why the old HP17bII buttons were not retained.

HP SOLVE is still the best reason and a HP niche to retain HP 17bII users to this HP line of business calculators. Still, this is the best reason to buy the HP17b series.

ONLINE HP USER SUPPORT is IMHO the best in its class, [...] has most of the answers to your HP17b2+ questions.

OVERALL, the 17b2+ is an acceptable but rather unimpressive upgrade from HP, perhaps it is why it is not called HP17bIII or version 3.

This calculator is not "cheap" in dollar terms either. While HP had probably kept its' shareholders happy and executives fed while profiting from old proven product designs, it should, in my opinion, start to think hard on making us, their customers happier.

A young colleague of mine owns a minty 17bII but I doubt she would sell it, her dad had retired and had given his 17bII to her and that, is a testimony of how good the quality of HP calculators used to be.

Thank you for reading my user review of the HP 17b2+. HP 17BII+ Financial Calculator, Silver

Until a replacement for the HP19BII comes along, this is the best business calculator that can be purchased.

With over a year of near daily use, I remain very pleased with this calculator. I purchased the HP17BII+ despite the unusual number of negative reviews for this model prompted by my many years of experience with the HP19BII.

This is a solid, dependable calculator with intuitive features, unmatched ease of programming in a financial calculator and quality materials.

I've tested both Casio models and the TI business calculators; neither is able to measure up to the standards of the new HP17BII+ in terms of "feel" and ease of use. Anyone who recommends the TIBAII series - even the "Pro" - either has never used the HP17BII+ or believes that you will not be using your business calculator for real business.

The programmability - the ability to enter formulae into the calculator permanently and to solve for any variable is a boon to anyone. Want to run an ROI or break-even formula - just program it into the calculator and it'll be there for you whenever you need it. Need t do simple Chi-square, z-score or MIRR, just plug it in and you've got it at your fingertips. It is puzzling to me why HP does not trumpet the features of their calculators. TI cleans their clock in terms of store presence nearly everywhere - sluffing off calculators with fewer capabilities on generations of calculator buyers. As of this writing, there is no match for the HP17BII+ on the marketplace except PDAs with emulator packages.

The HP 17BII+ does essentially everything that the HP19BII did, but faster and in a smaller footprint. The HP 17BII's long life batteries are far more likely to be found in a store's battery section than those needed for the HP19BII and the extended memory will allow far more custom equations. It is regrettable that HP dropped the random number generator, but again, overall the best financial/business calculator one can buy today. Also - I've had no sticky keys, blank displays or erratic behavior of any kind.

Negatives: The alpha selection display is kind of cumbersome, but once you're done with the program entry, the lack of a separate alpha keyboard makes the calculator much less clunky.

The single line display (HP calls it two line because the bottom of the display contains the menu enunciators) makes it very difficult at first to enter longer programs - only one line at a time can be seen - making trouble shooting tedious.

The "On" key is the same height as the rest of the keys meaning it can be turned on simply by pushing on the case while the calculator is inside - while auto power off will shut off the calculator in ten minutes, one can only hope that you don't experience too many inadvertent power-ons so that your calculator runs out of power at just the wrong time.

Once again - a solid, pleasure of a calculator, and one I'd recommend to anyone in any circumstances who needs a quality programmable financial calculator (my belief is that once you've tried HP Solve on an HP calculator that you'll quickly say that you can't do without it!). - Finance Calculator - Mba - Calculator - Hp Calculator'

Grill Pans - present, non-stick

We use ours all the time for grilling chicken & beef. Was skeptical that a non-stick pan could create nice black grill marks on the food, but it does. Compared it to the Le Creuset, which is also a nice piece, but the All-Clad is much lighter and easier to clean. And no need for a George Foreman grill! :)

I threw away an old-fashioned Lodge cast-iron grill pan (heavy, hard-to-clean, and with a tendency to produce heavily charred food)and replaced it with this one. I am highly satisfied with All-Clad's product! The pan turns out perfect meat and fish with brown--rather than black--grill marks, and cleaning requires nothing more than a once-over with a soapy kitchen sponge. Also, the rectangular shape of the pan seems to accomodate large-sized pieces of food better than my former round pan.

My husband and I LOVE this pan! He looks for things to grill just so that he can use it. We're vegetarian and love grilling vegetables and veggie burgers, hotdogs, and sausages. It give food and really nice grilled taste. And it cleans up so easily! It also heats up quickly and requires only medium heat.

I've used a couple of other grill pans from other manufacturers and was never very impressed. But I decided to give it one more try with the All-Clad. What a difference. Everything I've made from fish to vegetables, soy burgers, steaks - everything, has come out great. I've also found that it cleans up easily after a quick soaking. I don't use any spray and only oiled it as per the instructions the first time I used it. Northing sticks. Overall, a great pan I use several times a week.

If you love to grill but don't have the outdoor space to do so, buy this now. I bought a book called "indoor grilling for dummies" becasue I wanted to cook healthier and lose weight. I live in an apartment so grilling (the healthiest easiest way to cook) was out of the question. That was until I bought this. I use if for everything Fish. Steak. Chicken. You name it.

I've owned this grill pan for almost 2 years now and it does a great job of grilling everything from burgers to chicken, fish and thick steaks. It has the ability to heat up to a very high temperature, enabling me to nicely sear the outside of the meat. I can then pop the whole pan in the oven to finish cooking the inside of thick steaks or just to keep warm. As for clean up, the pan does need to sit and soak for a little while but after that, everything comes off with relative ease. No hard scrubbing involved. Overall, I love this product and highly recommend it.

I bought this pan after hearing my sister rave about it. It is terrific. I have grilled salmon, hamburgers, chicken breasts and pork tenderloin. Luckily, my sister gave me the secret to using the pan and easy clean up. Preheat the pan on Medium heat for ten minutes. DO NOT use any cooking spray or oil. This will ruin the pan. When you are done cooking, just fill the pan with soapy water and let soak for a few minutes. Rinse with water, scubbing lightly if necessary .

I would highly recommend this pan. It is like having a grill inside!

I have only owned this item for about 3 weeks and have used it at least 10 times already. What I like about it is that it is big enough to hold just about anything, leaves nice "grill marks", takes less energy and time to heat the pan, and it is very very easy to clean. If you find it hard to clean, it is probably because non-stick spray or even oil (not including butter) is being used. Don't do it. It is already "non-stick". Usually I put any oil that is needed on the meat or veggies first, then cook it. If you have a sticking problem, after cleaning the pan, rub a little soft scrub 0n the spot. This gets rid of any residue that may have caused the sticking to begin with. I think it is better than George Foreman, becuase the fat doesn't drain away which, in the end, saves the flavor.

Since I bought this pan, I use it almost everyday and I've used it to grill just about everything. It's great for burgers, hot dogs, chicken, bacon, and steak. The best part of using it for hot dogs is that it makes the outside nice and crispy and you can lightly toast the bun after cooking the dog without burning it. Also, the square shape allows it to hold a lot at one time. There are a few drawbacks that prevent me from giving it 5 stars. First, there's no good way to drain out the grease while cooking burgers and bacon so it splatters and creates a mess on the stove top. I got one of those screen splatter covers that seems to take care of the problem, however it's round and the pan is square so it still splatters some. The second is that I usually have to open a window in addition to using the hood fan to prevent setting off the smoke detector especially when cooking hot dogs.As for ease of cleaning, I have had to scrub it a bit if I don't wash it right away, but overall, it's pretty easy to keep clean. After the first few times, I stopped coating it with oil and haven't had a problem with anything sticking yet.Overall, I am satisfied with this product and like I said, I use it almost everyday so I'm definately getting my money out of it. - Non-stick - Present'

Cormac Mccarthy - american west, western

Watching this movie is a lot like, in some quiet way, railing against mainstream cinema. This is not a popcorn-and-cola, big screen, ultra violent and...arousing potboiler. Atmosphere is something that that Tomb Raider dreck couldn't manage, unless it's some sordid, purely libidinous atmosphere. This movie is brilliant, for several reasons. There are few leading men with the sort of silent charisma of Henry Thomas, who plays the surrogate father of the baby he finds in the woods, left there by the murderous father. The entire cast put in good performances, but Thomas is superb as the reticent outcast from his hometown's most wayward family. Remember that harangue about atmosphere? This thing's almost swollen with it. The beautiful backdrop of rural North Carolina is given a nervous system of haunted, ramshackle homes and wandering farm animals, as well as the usual small town, yammering old men, sitting in the general store swapping misogynistic jokes. This somber tone is enlivened, or let's say intensified, by a wonderous performance by David Straithairn as the deranged salesman hoping to recover his baby, whether or not it requires the murder of the child's twelve year old aunt.Few of the movies that Hollywood producers spit up on the big screen are worth seeing. Rushmore, The Royal Tennenbaums, and the Straight Story are notable exceptions. If this movie ever made it that far (remember, we have a tendency to forget truly adroit film making), then it deserves a space among the inspired flicks mentioned above. Now, if they could only infuse this sort of power and substance into such filler as The Nutty Professor... A Good Baby

This is a beautiful, haunting, unforgettable movie. The characters depict a dignity & simplicity, true to the mountain people of NC. It's clear this movie was made with great love & dedication to the art of storytelling. The scenery is so beautiful. The music is forever in my heart. Is there a soundtrack available?

Raymond Toker under a surprising set of circumstances, found a baby while he was squirrel hunting.

Not knowing what to do with it, he tried in vain to give it to some of the local folks, but was unsucessful.

He finally decided to try to care for it him self.

Unbeknownst to Ramond the real father who was a shady character, was trying to get the baby for himself.

In order not to reveal any more than I already have, Ill just say that every thing, after a lot of tormoil, turned out OK for the baby, and Raymond.

I enjoyed this movie greatly but I also can't say that I am impartial I also worked for the movie company that made this film I was the medic on the set and saw all the hard work that everyone put into this movie. I think Cara Seymour is a great talented actress and when I got a chance at seeing the movie I was totally surprised I loved it and think that everyone that likes a good story and a great look at the Mountain Area should check it out.

In A Good Baby we are taken to Western North Carolina, specifically Leighester, Asheville. This is the story about a baby that no one wanted that ended up changing the lives of every one who held it. Henery Thomas (All the Pretty Horses, ET) stars in this moving tale as the lonesome sole who finds and gets stuck with caring a baby. The mother of the baby a teen who messed up early is killed be her husband, David Strathairn (Simon Birch, The River Wild) who is consederable older than she was. Lena (the mother) her sister (played by Allison Glenn) is now looking for her and finds more than she bargens for. In the surcumstances of the acting I think they all portray mountain people failry well. I think first time star Allison Glenn gives a superb preformance along side Cara Seymour (You've Got Mail). Overall the film is very enjoyable and it tells a story that I think the directer felt needed to be told. A very enjoyable movie! - American West - Cormac Mccarthy - Matt Damon - Western'

Ir Emitter - remote control extender, remote extender

The instructions included in the box were not clear about having to connect a ground wire to the housing. After messing with it for hours, I finally went to the manufactures website and downloaded a new instruction sheet which stated you must ground the housing for reliable operation. Works great now! Buffalo IR-100 IR Receiver

I've had the Buffalo Electronics IR-100 receiver installed in my entertainment system for a couple years now and it has worked flawlessly. I use their IR-350 as the pickup, and I've got four IR-E1 IR Flashers going to my various components.

It works well with the individual component remotes, as well as my new Logitech Harmony universal remote.

I purchased this product along with the IR-250, IR-E1, and the SPS-1212. The setup could not have been any easier. I installed the IR-250 in place of a blank wall plate I already had in the wall. I ran about 50 feet of CAT6 cable from the IR-250 down into my basement where it connected to the IR-100. I then ran an IR-E1 from the IR-100 to the front of my new Directv receiver. Everything works flawlessly. I have to admit, I was a little skeptical given the price-point on the Buffalo products, but so far they have outperformed my expectations. I would definitely recommend this setup to anyone looking for an IR extender setup.

I bought this so that I could keep the wooden doors of my TV stand closed during use. I bought this item along with the Buffalo DV9-500 9VDC 500mA Power Supply for IR Receiver, the Buffalo IR-E1 IR Flasher and Buffalo IR-350 Cabinet Mount IR Repeater. It worked just fine for me. I used a 2-ft piece of CAT5 cable to connect the IR repeater with the receiver and used the screw-terminal connections to make the connection. The most difficult part of the installation was finding the IR sensor on my receiver. It is harder than it sounds! Luckily, the adhesive that is attached to the flasher is quite tenacious and allowed me to attach it and remove the 1/2 dozen times it took me to successfully find the IR receiver.

If you're looking for something to work with a cabinet, I recommend this setup. It worked quite well for me.

This didn't work at all with a Samsung LCD HDTV and an HD TiVo. The TV created interference that overwhelmed the IR sensor and generated too strong a signal in the IR flasher that the TiVo wouldn't accept. I could get it to work intermittently by wrapping the IR flasher in paper to degrade the signal, but then it wouldn't work for the first minute after turning on the TV. It also wouldn't work if I pointed the remote directly at the IR receiver. I had to point it off axis to make it work.

After talking with an infrared hardware expert where I work, I instead purchased a XANTECH 49085DKit LCD-Proof Designer Micro Link Infrared Kit, which is specifically designed to filter out interference from LCD TV's and compact fluorescent lights. It works perfectly no matter what direction I point the remote, and I'm a lot happier now.

I recommend buying this instead:

High Speed Cable Modem - high speed cable modem, modem

I tried both Motorola SB6120 and Zoom5341. I have Comcast blast internet and Speakeasy test shows download speed 23.5 MBps with Motorola SB6120, 24.8 MBps with Zoom5341, so I decided to stay with Zoom5341. Installation takes around 30 minutes, you need to call to Comcast and give them modem MAC Address. Zoom 5341 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem - 1 x F-type Network WAN, 1 x RJ-45 10/100/1000Base-T Network LAN - 172Mbps - External

I recently bought two different Motorola SB6120 Docsis 3.0 cable modem to work with Comcast and I wasted 2 hours working with Comcast support and SB6120 just wouldn't sync or hold connection with comcast. I eventually gave up and ordered the ZOOM 5341.

The 5341 is $5 more and I'm not familiar with the ZOOM brand. Wow, I plugged it in, spent 5 minutes on the phone with Comcast support(tell them MAC address & make/model & wait 5 minutes), and it has been working like a charm! Can't tell about durability yet but it seems fast and so far it's been stable. This is so much better than the SB6120.

I bought this to avoid the monthly rental and still (hopefully) be covered technology-wise for a couple of years.

Setup was a breeze - all I had to do was call into Comcast with the new MAC address and modem make/model# and the setting up on their side took a couple of mins. I had occasional link drops over the next couple of days, but things stabilized well enough after that.

I have the 20mbps Performance internet from Comcast, and this was showing me about 24.5 Mbps on average on [...] and 23Mbps speakeasy; was getting about 19Mbps with my old Comcast-supplied Scientific Atlantic docsis 1.1 modem.

I haven't had any trouble so far in the past month with this product.

Just upgraded to Comcast Extreme 50. Tried the zoom 5341 D3 modem and Motorola D3 modem over the course of 3days. The Zoom was by far the fastest. Setup was easy on both. But am more than satisfied with the Zoom 5341. Returned the Motorola after the trials.

Now I have pure internet solution which includes TV, phone, music, movie night with no concern about bandwidth or buffering.

I purchased the Zoom 5341 modem based on its reviews. The installation went fairly smoothly with Comcast. Make sure you write down the MAC number from the bottom of the modem, as well as the serial number. The Serial Number is the last number on the bottom of the Zoom but it is not marked with S/N or any other "serial number" identification. It threw the Comcast rep a slight curve ball because she said most modem S/N numbers are not this long. Other than the 2 minutes it took Comcast to confirm this was the Zoom's serial number, the modem was up and running in 15 minutes.

Am saving $7.00 a month over outrageous Comcast leasing fees and the Zoom 5341 is faster in my modem speed testing.

I am a Comcast internet customer and had an old Motorola Cable Modem. Over time, Comcast has upgraded my service from 5 mbps to Blast which is up to 20mbps. I ran the comcast speed test on the old modem and found that I was getting only 8 to 10 mbps. Additionally, at times, the modem would just stop communicating with Comcast and I would have to reboot it to get it to work. I ordered the Zoom from Amazon. Called the Comcast 800 number and installed as they suggested. They needed numbers from the device in order to install. It took a little while for them to connect to it (a few minutes). They almost seemed ready to give up, but then it was discovered. I now consistently get over 20 mbps on the speed test and can see a notable difference on large downloads. I have not had to reboot it either.

This Zoom cable modem is awesome. It is fast and has us ready for any cable upgrades. It was easy to set up. I switched to this modem instead of renting a modem. I am really pleased with the speed and with the capability. Well done.

Just got this modem today (sf bay area) and after a call to comcast [5 min.], it was up and running. First impression:

-small and well built

-only a small increase in speed but I had a docsis 2.0 before

-although flat out speed only increased by a couple of mbs, pages load faster and the nightly slowdown from 8pm - 11pm is gone. With 4 downstream channels, the speed -is consistent=smooth.

-I notice no more heat coming from this modem that the rented one it's replacing (just warm) but I am using the stand for vertical position.

-works great with my router

So far, I am glad I purchased this modem.

Oh - I almost forgot - my cable bill just went down by five bucks a month!

Comcast came in to install my brand new cable service. The guy tried to install this modem instead of their default SB5120. But we gave up on the Zoom after it rebooted twice without being touched. I had hopes in this little modem, seemed the only modem reasonably priced that supports DOCSIS 3; but for whatever reason the unit I had did not work. Returned to Amazon, who graciously covered the shipping cost b/c the unit was bad. I bought a CM100 on Amazon instead, and that one connected without a hitch. - Comcast - Broadband - Modem - High Speed Cable Modem'

Networking Cables - mouse pads, belkin

Let's see...a 95 cent mouse pad, how could you go wrong? But don't start thinking this pad is not worth buying because the price implies low quality. No, this little gray beauty is quite possibly the superior choice of all mouspads, just as long as you don't prefer specific designs or add-ons (i.e. wrist pads.) Obviously it's gray, meaning it's not too bright or too dark, but just right, and won't stand out on your desk. Also, Belkin (the manurfacture) produces an icredible number of different colors and designs, just check them out in the mouse pages. Secondly, the upper cloth material is supperior quality, and after personally using this exact mouspad for over 3 years, it is NOT yet showing a single sign of wear and tear. Best of all, the rubber underside is incredibly adhesive to wood, synthetics (plastics), or even metal. Liquid doesn't even absorb, only resting in harmless little beads until cleared away. Sure, it might be .95 cents, but it's the best darn mousepad I've ever owned. Pick one up, you won't feel like you "should've gotten that other design" or "other color". It's not flashy, but it IS the perfect mouse pad. Belkin Standard Mouse Pad (Gray)

Dang. I thought that this was that standard gray mouse pad with the thick and heavy rubberized base, but I was very wrong. The super cheapy mouse pad that I originally had was a gray one like this Belkin, but it was very thick, heavy and felt as tyhough the base was composed of a rubbery material that gripped the table surface so well. However, it was getting worn down and dirtty, so I thought of getting two of these things so I do not have to search around again for a quality pad again.

Well, the ones I received from here (the Belkin brand) were incredibly light weigh, foam backed pads that wanted to curl upwards as it sat on the desk. Sure, once you had the mouse and your hand on the pad it would stay in place, but it did not seem at all secure like my old one. The pad just felt cheap as you were using it, and because of the stiff foam backing, you could hear and feel the rubbing/scratching sound of the mouse as it traveled over its surface. You even got nauseous from the spray-on adhesive that was used to glue the cloth onto the backing of the pad. I would search around more for a different pad. The thick, rubbery pad I had is a dream compared to these and you should be able to find them somewhere on Amazon for cheap. If you are used to the cheap foam pads, then that is too bad.

Well, overall, this really is not a bad mouse pad for the price (although I paid 2.99 for mine), so this will work if you need a cheap pad that are for the kids or for the family's heavily used computer. As for quality, this lacks, and if you get one, you can just feel it. I hope this was of use for some people (like me), looking for that cheap, bud decently built mouse pad that needs to be replaced. The best thing to do is go mosey down to your local supermarket, or an electronics store, and get a feel for the mouse pads for sale. Good luck...

Well, not really. It sticks reasonably well to the surface - could be a little better. It cost less than a buck. Best part is it came in a box big enough for a small microwave with 2 day Amazon Prime free shipping. The box was worth more than the mouse.

I've tried the hard plastic type mouse pads and after a short while the rubber ball in my mouse would just slide over them with out working my mouse right. So I tried this fabric coated pad and I love it as much as my mouse does. Working great!

This is exactly the kind of mouse pad that actually works. It's not shiny; the surface is like a felt. The bottom is non-skid. The shiny mouse pads have too much reflection and the mouse doesn't "grab." This product is great.

I got this pad. I didn't like the grey color, but it was the best available. I tried to use the top side of the pad and it was very much a pain to use it. I got the pad because otherwise the optical mouse would be on a surface not smooth enough for mousing. I had to use the back side of the mouse pad to be able to control the cursor. I will say the top side of the pad is worthless for optical mice, but the backside is wonderful for optical mice, but only comes in black.

You will probably pay more in shipping for this cheap pad than if you went to the store, but not all of us can handle the Office store environment. *cringes*

Of all the mouse pads I have used, the Belkin Standard Mouse Pad delivers. Oh, sure , it looks plain as can be, but I have got to say that this little mouse pad has provided my mouse something better to glide across, other than my desktop. I have one for work and one for home and they are a life saver.

I just got this mouse pad shipped today and it kind of let me down. From hearing all the reviews out there about this mouse pad, alot of people claimed that it's "the best mouse pad out there".

I find that false because at the bottom of the pad, there is no grip somewhat. It's just styrofoam-like.

Plus the upper cloth isn't soft at all. It's a bit hard but not as hard as mouse plastic pad.

To come to my conclusion, this is indeed a quality of a .74 cent mouse pad. It's not too bad. In order for me to stop making the mouse pad move around when I move my mouse, I lay another mouse pad underneath it with the one that has the better grip, holding this mouse pad in place.

Just my 2 cents. - Belkin - Pad 097 - Mousepads - Mouse Pads'
