Computer Speakers - ipod, ipad

Having read previous reviews, I thought the only gamble on this product might be that the sound quality wasn't stellar. People seemed to like the versatility of changing the angle of the screen and flipping it from portrait to landscape. The bracket that holds the IPad in place is made so poorly and cheaply that it continuously falls apart. Therefore it won't hold the IPad in place in any direction, but instead flops over to an odd, limp angle. For $130, a complete waste of money. Altec Lansing MP450 Octiv Stage

I did my homework before ordering this dock and really ordered it because it seems to be the only dock that allows you to change the angle of the Ipod from vertical to horizontal. I got it yesterday, and am blown away by how much I like it. As a matter of fact, I never take the time to write reviews but this warranted the effort. The size is perfect- you hardly see it, the remote is handy and easy to use, and most of all....the sound is fabulous...I swear its as good as my Bose. Love it!!

The product provides great sound at a reasonable price. Looks great and is easy to use. Had previously bought an inferior product that malfunctioned in less than a week. Quality here seems much better. Altec Lansing has really stepped up their game with this product. - Portable Speakers - Ipad - Speaker Systems - Ipod'

Milwaukee 18v Lithium-ion - milwaukee, cordless tools

Great battery! I bought this specifically for my job site radio (2790-20), but recently purchased a cordless sawzall and will be using it for the sawzall as well. Additionally, I have two XC batteries that came with my hammer drill (2602-22) and impact driver (2650-22). These batteries last a loooooong time for almost all applications; it seems like each battery will last for several hours doing even mid-level work. So far, the only time that the battery completely drained on me while I was working was when I used my drill to mix concrete (using an attached paddle for mixing concrete in a bucket).

As far as the weight, it's really not that bad and you get used to it quickly. I have used the 18V compact li-on batteries, which are great, but half the amperage; this battery is 2.8 amps and the compact is 1.4. Additionally, if you buy this retail at Home Depot, you're paying $120 + tax versus the $75 here. Totally worth it.

Now comes my critique. I absolutely loooooove Milwaukee, but they really should have taken a lesson from DeWalt: Their Ni-Cad and Li-On batteries are not "backwards compatible" with each other, that is, you HAVE TO USE the respective battery with its respective tool. Even worst, certain tools REQUIRE the XC M18 battery and cannot be powered by the compact M18 (for example, the cordless sawzall [2620-20]). To me, Milwaukee should have made every battery--from Ni-Cad to Li-On, and regardless of XC/compact or voltage--compatible with every tool and charger, but they didn't . . . so yeah. The good thing about purchasing this battery from the get-go is that it can be used on all of Milwaukee's M18 series tool line, whereas the compact M18 cannot.

As for charging, it's pretty reasonable. If it only has one bar left on the fuel gauge, I find that it takes anywhere from 30 to 50 minutes to charge. I called Milwaukee about leaving the battery charging overnight, and they said that it's not an issue with these batteries--a sigh of relief for those of us used to older batteries with "battery memory."

I would highly recommend this battery, but KNOW if the tool you intend to use it on is compatible with it. Again, Milwaukee's Ni-Cad tools are NOT compatible with their Li-On batteries, and vice versa. Know your line of Milwaukee cordless tools before purchasing. Milwaukee 48-11-1828 High-Capacity 18-Volt Battery Pack

I purchased a couple of these batteries with a four tool combo kit. While the tools seem to be solid and comfortable, the batteries are bit of a disappointment. Why would Milwaukee downgrade the amperage of their batteries from the V18's 3 amp to the M18's 2.6 amp? When Makita has set the benchmark @ 3 amps, it seems foolish to offer anything less. This wouldn't really bother me that much, after all it is only about 14% less, but Milwaukee went out of their way to obscure this fact. Nowhere on their website does it state the amperage for these and the battery itself only gives it's rating in watts, on the bottom in very small writing, 47 watt hours. Not a good way to treat your base who loved the V18 batteries, only to see that line discontinued. I gave it three stars because I think these batteries will probably live up to their expectations, mostly, but feel like I got tricked into buying something that's not equivalent to Makita's LXT, and that is who they are chasing after, IMH0.

I have a multi-tool M18 kit along with three of these M18 XC batteries. They've been used and abused my me and all my helpers while building a house. The tools have been dropped and kicked around at times, and I've cringed as I've watched tools fall and direct hits taken by the batteries. The little Milwaukee circular saw took a 15' plunge (a new table fixed it) and the battery had a ding indicating it had taken a hit also. I saw the drill/driver take two direct hits. To no avail. They all still lock on properly, they all work properly, they all recharge very quickly.

They've been drained to nothing, or been run for just a little bit then topped off. It seems to make no difference, as they all seem to be running tools just about the same duration after one year of use. The little 1/4" impact driver has seen an insane amount of screws, thousands of 2-1/2" torx, 5,000 1-1/2" washer heads, 250 7" torx lags, 500 5" torx lags, and on and on (that little Milwaukee impact driver is an animal). It really was shocking to see how long these batteries would run these screws before needing a charge/change. Tons of sawzall work, tons of circular saw work, tons of drill/driver work.

Only one trick to keep in mind during cold winters and subzero temperatures... The battery charger will give a blinking LED indication if the battery is too cold to recharge. This happened when we were pushing through temps around zero. We took the batteries into warmth each night when we shut down, topped them all off, so that they were all warm and raring to go in the morning. During the day we just put the battery in the charger (a warm area) and within a few minutes it was up to temperature and quickly recharging.

I really, really, value the Milwaukee M18 cordless line and batteries and recommend them wholeheartedly.

My 3-4 year old 18V compact Milwaukee drill had lost its effectiveness in the shop due to the inability of the lithium ion batteries to properly recharge. Any suspicion I had about the charger's capabilities disappeared when I removed a new, freshly charged high cap. pack and plugged it in. Whole new tool. Major power increase and sustained. I was impressed enough to buy a second one and about the same time I acquired the new 18V right angle drill. Either way this new battery packs a wallop. Down side is the weight increase.

Already had one, needed a spare. Price at the local stores was WAY more than Amazon, plus with Prime I got it next day without having to spend any time or fuel on the road! (and no standing in line either!) - Battery Packs - Cordless Tools - Milwaukee 18v Lithium-ion - Milwaukee'

Undershirts - comfortable, t-shirt

I purchased these six months ago and they have continued to keep their shape. The band around the in-step is what makes these socks so great. I just purchased three more packs and received them in four days using the free shipping option. I don't write many reviews but when I find a great product I make sure my friends know about it. Hanes Men's 4-Pack Comfort Stretch Ankle Socks,Black,Shoe Size 6-12

I purchased 4 different types of ankle socks 2 months ago, and these are my price/performance winners. They've held up quite well to several washings (better than some more expensive socks purchased at the same time), and they still feel great on.

i like Hanes undershirts; I thought I'd try out their athletic socks; didn't; gave them to my son....I am relatively sure he likes them, since they were free to him, but I have not heard anything one way or another.

These are, without a doubt, the best socks I have ever worn! They are comfortable. They are durable. They fit. They are practically, the only socks I wear these days. I will try the white version too. - Comfortable - Crew - Hanes - T-shirt'

Smartphone - touch screen phone, cell phone

I have had this phone for nearly 2 years now and the only flaw that i have run into is if you do not pull the battery or simulate the battery pull by using quick pull the OS starts to go wonky. AS for the touchscreen it is very unique and the Sure press system is unlike any other device I know of. It allows a tactile response when pressing buttons. This will feel weird to anyone that has used touch screens like the IPOD touch or phone. Blackberry Storm Verizon 9530 OEM RIM Cell Phone

My Phone is not working! the first day i received it, i tried to turn it on but it did work! but only in speaker! and still, when someone calls, i have to use only speaker! no private conversations for me! also, this is not unlocked or whatever it said! i wish the vendor can contact me and exchange it, but i dont think its going to work like that!!!!!!!

Got one of these for work and I have to say I'm pretty underwhelmed. The touch screen really is not touch (text lights up and requires you to push in the screen). So far everyone that has gotten one of these in my office has not been thrilled. When you "click" the screen it often slips to the next letter over. Not the most user friendly either since the menus are poorly organized. I was considering getting one for my personal life, but I'll either wait for the iPhone to come out on Verizon or get a Droid.

If you're a tech geek looking for cutting edge this isn't it. If you're a basic user that just wants to get his/her e-mail on the run and do some replies go with the keyboard option since the touch screen is about five years behind its competition.

The item shipped and got to me the DAY it said it was going to, not a day late.

It is in great condition and came with extra chargers and cases and two batteries! All way more than I had expected.

Overall it was a great purchase. - Verizon - Smartphone - Cell Phone - Touch Screen Phone'

toshiba laptop battery - toshiba laptop battery

Just received this battery and it works fantastic. It gives me almost 3+ hours of battery life, which is more than the original battery did brand new from the manufacturer. I would recommend this battery for a low cost and better solution than the manufacturer's battery. Laptop/Notebook Battery for Toshiba Satellite a205-s5804 l203 a200 a205 a215 m205 pabas098

Battery is alright, better than my old one which wouldn't even charge, but still I can only get about an hour and a half, hour 45 minutes at a stretch. Yes I did break it in by charging and depleting it a few times but with moderate use I can only get 1-1.5 hours. Other than that it works great, shipped on time and fit perfectly. If you just need a battery so your computer doesn't shut off every time the power supply gets bumped this is great for the price, but if you're looking for longevity you might have to spend a little more. We'll see how it's holding up in a few months.

This battery works great. I looked around after my old battery stopped holding a charge and found this one. I've had it for around 2 months now and have had no problems. It was a perfect fit for my Toshiba satellite A215. The battery lasts for over 2 hours on a single charge. I highly recommend this product. - Toshiba Laptop Battery'

Apple Computer Accessories - trackpad, mac

I bought the trackpad for my 2010 Mac Mini, which I use mainly as a media center appliance, with XBMC.

In this context the trackpad adds a lot of usability for the following reasons:

* I don't need a surface for the mouse anymore. So it's basically like another remote, sitting beside me on the couch.

* I no longer require to use the keyboard, for basic operations. Thanks to the gestures, I can switch between running applications (e.g. from XBMC to Finder) without the need of the keyboard. In fact, since I bought the trackpad I hardly use the keyboard at all.

Cons (same context):

* If you're holding the trackpad with your hand or operating it on a soft surface (like the couch) you can't use the click option, since it requires the trackpad to be sitting on a hard surface, like a desk. So you have to live with tapping for clicking operations. Apple Magic Trackpad

I've been using this as my mousing input device on my work desktop Mac for a couple of weeks. I made a conscience effort to leave my comfort zone and move my regular mice away and rely solely on the Magic Trackpad. I did this because I was unconsciously reaching way over to grab the mouse whenever I needed something done and I wasn't giving the trackpad a fair shot. Anytime you switch away from something familiar there is going to be stress. My long term preference for a pointing device is a Logitech thumb wheel style trackball, but anytime a co-worker came to use my machine I'd have to break out a mouse as their displays of awkwardness defy description. These things take time.

So I gave it a shot. What do I think?

I think the Magic Trackpad has potential if you are the kind of person that can internalize the gestures Apple provides. The 3 and 4 finger swipes especially are useful and if I did them naturally and without much thought then the trackpad would have a significant advantage over other pointing devices as I could do common actions like task switching or browsing back more quickly. This would be a skill worth mastering. I am not a master after a couple weeks, and maybe I won't get there. After all, the Magic Mouse also accepts gestures and has the precision of a mouse. It's possible that people will find the trackpad is good for some activities, such as web browsing where swiping and scrolling dominate, while reserving the mouse for activities such as file management or photo editing where precision is paramount. Nobody said you had to choose only one. Except maybe your wallet.

The addition of iPad-like inertial scrolling is a big win for Mac trackpad users, whether via a built in Macbook trackpad or this Magic Trackpad, and we can expect more gestures to originate on the iDevices and make their way onto the desktop. If you love the browsing experience on an iPad, you are building up skills you can use with this trackpad.

It helps if you are a long time Mac laptop user. I'm so conditioned to using my thumb to click in the lower portion of the surface that I never even notice there is no actual button there. Just as in the unibody series of laptops, the whole surface is a button, which is easily pressed with my thumb after my index finger has guided the cursor. Users coming from a different hardware setup might try clicking with their forefingers and find it exhausting transmitting all that energy through a single extended digit.

The actual device is classic Apple, part work of art, part extremely minimalistic functionality. My one complaint with the hardware is that because clicking goes through the little rubber feet on the bottom front, I cannot click when the trackpad is off the desktop, such as on my lap when I'm reclining. I had to enable tap clicking in the control panel, which works well enough, but I miss the firm solidity of the click. I still prefer a thumbwheel for its unparalleled utility when my feet are on the desk and the device is in my lap or on my leg.

I ended up disabling all one finger gestures except for tap to click as they were driving me crazy with unwanted drags and contextual menus.

Who will like this device: iPad users, power-user MacBook owners, those with Mac Minis attached to a TV.

Who will hate this device: people who absolutely love the precision of a mouse.

Is it worth buying now? I would say probably not. This is a hint at a future where the interaction between human and computer is more gestural, subtle and sophisticated. I don't know if I'm ready for that future.

[Update: if you watched the "Back to The Mac Keynote" on October 20, 2010, you saw that OS X 10.7 will be make much more use of gestures for navigation and control, so come summer of 2011 things will start to get advanced.]

I received this trackpad as a gift and honestly, I wanted to sell it after the first day. It felt awkward and clumsy and I had some guilt over telling it's purchaser, "Yeah, it's great. Thanks so much for the gift..." (even though I was considering selling it on Craigslist the next day).

BUT, after a few days, I have really grown to love it.

That being said, here's what you can expect if you unshackle yourself from the comfort zone of mousedom:

Day One - You will hate this thing. It doesn't do what you want. The mouse is so much easier. Where's the receipt?

Day Two - Okay, staying away from the mouse...giving it a chance. Scrolling is easier and the damn scrollball never sticks and the bottom doesn't get gunked up like a mouse does.

Day Six - Three finger swipes for browsing the net? Loving it. Got more control now with some practice. Two finger tap right clicks. Four finger for Expose. Got it.

Day Seven - My hand knows what to do now. Everything is so smooth. I'm keeping this thing after all.

Moral to the story? Give it a chance. You just might love it. - Touchpad - Wireless - Trackpad - Mac'

Angry Birds

Now, there are a couple minor problems with this product (Hence the four stars) but they shouldn't detour you from buying this plush! it is completely worth it!

1. It is very small, about the size of two computer mice side-to-side.

2. the fabric on the nostril holes and ears is a muddy green, NOT black. as shown in the picture

3. the sound is a bit of a poor quality, if you know how the pigs are supposed to sound, you can recognize it, but if you arent used to the sound, it just sounds scratchy and loud.

4. the sound button is very sensitive, if you hold it a little too firmly, it goes off, which is a bit of a problem if you plan to sleep with this little guy, i rolled over and he damn near scared me half to death.

But overall its a very good quality plush, and ACCURATE! (Mostly) so i would recommend it. Angry Birds 5" Plush Piglet with Sound

My 3 year old was sooooo happy to get this for his birthday, my 11 and 8 year old were a bit jealous!

I am glad I went ahead and purchased 3 different plushes for him.

It is a great size, not too little by any means, but also not huge. It is soft, squishy and just perfect in details and colors!

The noisemaker is not very big so he may have to search a bit to find it, but it also is not clunky when he wants to cuddle with the plush

This is a very cute toy and a perfect present for someone addicted to the game angry birds. It is very similar too the obnoxious pigs in the game and also makes the same sounds.

Being a soft plush toy, it is great for kids in case they throw it at other people like in the game. If you have other angry birds you could probably set up your own miniature game of angry birds.

Cons:

- hard to replace the batteries too the sound box if it runs out of batteries. You would need to open up the stitches.

This is a fantastic plush. I love these Angry Birds plushes, they're adorable! They're great for anyone who likes the game and are a cute gift for anyone else even if they aren't familiar with the game.

For weeks my three year old son would avidly watch me play angry birds. He especially loves the sound the pigs make when they survive a wave. When I saw this toy, it seemed like the perfect match! And it is, sort of. The pig is a perfect reproduction of the game character. When you find the sound button (which is just a small stud under the fur on his forehead), it's easy to trigger and he makes precisely the right sound. For whatever reason, he's not too impressed with the animal. I'd expected it to make the noise if you squeezed it, but instead you have to find the stud and tap it. Pro:

- good reproduction of the character from the game

- sounds just right

- cute!Con:

- a little small

- you have to tap the sound button to make it make its piggy noise.I'm still happy i got it.

I ordered this along with a couple of other Angry Birds toys, and I really love em! My kids are crazy about em too. We especially love that they each make the sounds they make on the game. That is really the best part!

5" diameter is about softball size, or like a large tomato. Cute as can be, looks just like the big, very accurate details. Unfortunately mine came without sound. I tried squeezing and poking to no avail. I guess it is a good thing my daughter is not expecting any sounds from it, but for the price I wish the oinker would work. I am between a rock and a hard place because I need it for Thursday and there is no time for a return. I know things like this die quickly in the stores (demos, kids getting hold of them 12 hours a day, etc). I had higher hopes for one that was still new and untested. Oh well.'
