Adjustable Weights - adjustable weights, weight training

If you are smart - you will start slowly when adding weights to your walking-workout. These are a GREAT addition to your exercise-walk. Highly recommended.

Best to start off with just the Heavy-hands with no weights, then add the weights after a few weeks - not approaching this slowly could set you up for an injury. It really does raise the level of intensity to your walking workout. Heavyhands 1-2-3-Pound Multi-Pac Black heavyhands with Carry/Storage Case

I use these primarily when I power walk or when I am in front of the booob tube and want to get a little strength training in.

The compelling reasons for recommending these weights are:

1) they can be adjusted accordingly to different weights to accomodate your needs

2) the adjustment can be done fast by removing the endcaps and the weights

3) they have a nice neoprene handle/grip which adjusts nicely to the hand and doesn't slip

4) Heavyhands has a black plastic case and all the components store easily and out of sight when not used

5) it is a relatively inexpensive option that does what it is supposed to do

6) they are nicely balanced and very comfortable and I haven't had any problems with callouses or blisters

I have several set of weights, but use heavy-hands the most.

I like Heavy-hands for many reasons

1) One set of weights that can be made heavier or lighter as needed. Adding/removing weights is easy, and they take up a lot less room than if you had all those individual weights

2) The handles are made out of soft neoprene-like material. It feels good in your hands, they don't calluses. The neoprene material also absorbs any sweat, and thus reduces changes of dropping the weights.

3) The shape of the weight has a handle that goes over your hand. This also decreases the chances of one dropping the weights. This shape might also be of help to those with limited finger dexterity.

Very good design!

This was fulfilled by Target. We bought "new" merchandise and received a package that had been opened, gear that had been used enough to be significantly scuffed up and worn, and then replaced in the original plastic package and taped closed with packing tape. Amazon was, as always, great about the return, but we will never again purchase online through Target, as this must be how they dispose of their store return merchandise.

The items shipped by Target were well used, not new. They are sufficient due to the nature of the product, but the weights are badly scratched and scuffed up. Handles look unused. I would have returned the set if the handles had been used. Looks like item was a display or floor sample, repackaged and sold as if new. These should have been listed as used, not as new. A few scuff marks are no big deal, but the scratches are deep.

Only negative about the weights themselves is 3 lbs is actually 2 lbs 13 oz (handles attached). 2 lbs are actually 1 lb 14 oz's (handles attached). - Exercise - Fitness - Adjustable Weights - Weight Training'

I'm getting the idea that buying these cheap batteries is kind of a crap shoot. Some people get very good quality batteries. I was not one of those people. I received what looked like an authentic Motorola battery. It was almost identical to the one that came with my phone. Some of the text was different, but not enough to think it was a fake. My problem was not how fast the battery discharged, although that was not very good. It lasted about as long as my 1-1/2 year old battery. The problem I really couldn't get around was how long it was taking to charge. It was easily 3 times longer to charge this battery vs. my old one. So I'll try again with another listing on Amazon. This time I'll order an OEM version though. I'm not even going to try and return this. It was too cheap. I guess they win on this one. Motorola SNN5843 Standard Battery for Motorola Droid A855

Not much else to say than the title, I bought it b/c I thought my stock battery was losing charge. I used it in the exact same way as my stock battery and it died after 2 weeks, so I charged up my stock battery and apparently that reset the Li-Ion b/c Im getting close to Original Charge times with my stock battery almost 2 years later. this battery couldnt last 2 weeks, what a joke. - Motorola Droid'

Digital Thermometer - cheap, digital

I was pleased with the Product. It worked fast and was able to read the temp of me and my son. Handy to have and for a great value. I checked everywhere even walmart and found this the be the best price even with shipping and handling. I also like to keep one handy. My last one no longer worked and I needed one right away they shipped fast and I was ever so glad to get the one. I usually do not do reviews but I felt this one was worth it. Great value, Great price, Great product. Digital Thermometer- Great value

it gives a beep when it is ready to be used. then when it is finished reading your temperature (takes in about a minute or under) it beeps again telling you that it is finished. This is the only thermometer that I have used so I cannot compare it to any other but it is surprisingly easy to use. It has one button which turns it on as well as off. I think that it is pretty simple to use but then this is the only thermometer that I have experience with

Thermometer great... the beeps are good, as sometimes you kinda fall asleep again with the thing in your mouth. Would have been better if the display glowed in the dark, but the memory works fine for this - if you want to roll over and go back to sleep the last reading is there when you turn it on again.

Working fine so far! - Cheap - Thermometers - Digital - Thermometer'

Bubble Wrap

Overall I would say this bubblewrap represents a good value for a basic product.

Other reviewers posed various versions of the seemingly obvious question: "It's bubble wrap, how can you mess that up?" Well, I decided to find out. I measured the widths and lengths of the 2 rolls I received, as well as the size of the bubbles. I was surprised to find all dimensions were nearly exactly as advertised. The widths of each roll was right on at about 12 inches, and the length of roll # 1 was 110 feet, 5 inches, and roll# 2 was 110 feet, 2 inches. I measured about 10 well inflated bubbles randomly and each was right about 3/16" tall in the middle, give or take a little. (The bubbles are 3/8" wide)

I tried, but I couldn't find anything wrong with this stuff! Good value - 5 STARS! 12" x 220ft Small 3/16" Bubble Wrap

After studying and researching bubble wrap prices until dizzification, I decided that the price for these two rolls is pretty good. The order arrived quickly and was well packaged.

Inside each roll is a sturdy cardboard center like the innard of a paper towel roll. This innard will keep the bubble wrap roll from collapsing as it diminishes in thickness. While unwrapping the bubble wrap and separating the two rolls, I reached my hand into the middle of the top roll for a good grip and stupidly pulled out the center roll. Somehow I replaced it in one roll, but couldn't do it in the other.

It's no catastrophe, but you may want to learn from my stupidity.

The bubblewrap itself is thinner than I had expected. For extra protection one might want to make a few extra wraps. Some may prefer this thinner bubble wrap. For example, when I ship a book in an envelope, wrapping the book in a 5/16" bubble wrap can make it difficult to slide a wrapped book into the envelope mailer. For those who ship or use bubble wrap extensively, it might not be a bad idea to have several sizes on hand.

well - i bought this for selling and shipping on ebay.

I must say the the quality and PRICING is incredible.

i mean bubblepack is bubblepack.. but this shipper saved me $14 off others selling it.

super fast shipping too.

just as described.

Well it's bubble wrap what is there to really say about it? Came in great shape the sheets were easy to rip and use. All bubbles intact and had no problems with it. After move was done had a great time popping them all LOL! Definitely a good purchase they were sent with both rolls in the a good box so they weren't damaged at all.

These rolls came in very handy for me since I ship a lot. They were just exactly the size described. Very happy with the product. Makes me feel secure that my items will be protected in shipment. Thanks!

I'm impressed with the quality of this product. I thought I would be getting cheap material for this price. This is the same quality I get from Office Depot for 3 times the price. I'm an online seller and I use a lot of bubble wrap to ship fragile items daily, and this bubble wrap is simply one of the best. Highly recommended, I hope the seller keeps the price this low.

Packitright Bubble delivered two rolls of bubble wrap within 4 days of payment - much faster than I expected! Items received are just as described. I love having the large amount of bubble wrap at such a reasonable price as I can pack items securely without scimping on the bubble wrap due to expense. My first experience with this company is very positive; good price, quality product and super fast delivery!

This was the first time I ordered bubble wrap from this supplier, and I am very pleased. I have been using bubble wrap from one of the major big-box office supply stores for many years, but when I noticed this seller's low price on Amazon, I decided to give them a try. This bubble wrap is more heavy-weight than the big-box store product I had been using and offers significantly better protection when shipping rare books. Also, there are no perforations, which eliminates the occasional problem of no bubble protection on the edges of the books I wrap for shipment. Strangely, scotch tape doesn't stick quite as well to this bubble wrap as it does to the other wrap I was using, but that's a minor issue. This is a great product at a terrific price. Highly recommended.'

Slim External Dvd Rw - dvd drive, dvd writer

i like to keep my reviews simple.

this dvd burner is simply perfect.

it's smaller than the previous model from Samsung. the touch open feature is quite nifty. very light and quiet when i burned a few dvd's. i've connected it to my PC & MacBook Air 11" with no problems on either one. this is a much better option over the Apple SuperDrive. the SuperDrive can ONLY be used on the MB Air's. it's more expensive than most external dvd burners. why would you want to get it?

Edited: i forgot to mention that i use this DVD burner for both my desktop and laptop. unfortunately on my laptop there are only 2 USB ports. one on each side. the MacBook Air is sort of limited in that area. in any case, the DVD burner WILL WORK with only one USB cable slot plugged in. i think it may run a bit slower if you are burning something though, which will probably be due to the power outage limit that USB ports have.

do yourself a favor and get this if you need an external burner. you won't regret it. Samsung USB 2.0 8x DVD Writer External Optical Drive for Mac and PC SE-S084D/TSBS (Gloss Black)

I bought this for use with my new MacBook Air and my home server

Things I like:

1. Very compact. About a size of a double cd case

2. Very quiet for such a compact drive. Just a bit noisier than my internal dvd drive.

3. Requires only one usb port. Some drives need 2 usb ports, but this one runs fine on just one.

4. Plug and play. No drivers needed. Works great on Mac and PC.

5. A steal at $40 shipped

Things I don't like so much:

1. The small form factor is cool, but the black version looks and feels plastic. I'm not saying that it's flimsy, because it's not. However, next to my new Mac Air, it looks and feels kinda cheap

2. The soft touch eject doesn't work on Mac. You have to drag the icon to eject.

3. The Nero 9 software works with PC only.

Highly recommended for anyone looking for a tiny, simple dvd drive that works with both Mac and PC.

I've used this drive with a windows 7 desktop, Windows XP desktop, iMac running Snow Leopard 10.6.5, and MacBook pro running Snow leopard 10.6.6. The drive works great, good speed, reliable use. I would say the most frustrating part of this product is that it has no power-cord and requires two USB ports to operate. occasionally it will (randomly it seems) work with only one USB port, but I have only seen that on occasion. I am very disappointed with this part of the drive, however aside from that it has worked flawlessly. I've burned DVD at full speed in both Windows 7 and Mac OS X. It is compact, and requires very little to setup, simply just plugin and use. When I installed this product using the discs that came with it in Windows 7 it brought me into this very confusing application that claimed I needed a firmware update, however when I checked on the website it said I did not.

conclusion

It's a solid product that works well under most operating systems. Be prepared to surrender TWO USB ports to it though.

Just received this latest version of Samsung external DVD ROM. 100% described as product spec, slim and super light weight.

This DVD ROM is very compatible with my Toshiba Netbook NB205, only use one USB port instead of 2 ports for power. No driver needed base on Windows 7 Starter, just plug then you go. To play DVD movies with proper software is working great, I played one movie already. Reading sounds are acceptable for me.

Even we can find more cheaper one in the market, but you will get what you pay for. Products always have its cost and quality, so this device is worth the money for my Toshiba NB205.

I have 64bit Windows 7. This device plugged in and worked immediately. Besides being compact, completely powered by over USB, and fairly attractive overall; what is awesomely excellent about this product is the fact that you can just connect ONE USB plug for proper operation. You can also connect two USB plugs if you wish for maximum speed (one USB plug renders about half speed operation), but it is not required.

I bought this product after my internal DVD drive burnt out. I was worried about having to lug around an external drive, but this Samsung drive is just perfect! It is very portable, but remarkably sturdy. On my Mac (OS X), all I had to do was plug it in and it worked without any need for installation or driver(s). I have read/played both CDs and DVDs with no problem -- even with autoplay! For it's speed, it is also amazingly quiet. Initially, I had to check the indicator light to see if it was working, because I couldn't even hear it running! I am thoroughly impressed... ESPECIALLY for the price!! I'd gladly pay twice as much for the same machine.

I have been using this portable drive now for a few weeks now. You can just plug and play or install the Nero 9 software provided on the disk provided with the drive. Works fine, reads and writes with no issue.

I'm amazed at it's thin size. Using verbatim DVD-R disks for copying with no issues.

The drive has also been working with just one USB connection. Works on my desktop (running XP) as well as my netbook (Win 7 Starter).

For those of us who are buying multiple external drives for, er, migrating our video DVDs collections to our computers, these are fantastic! I am using two on an external (powered) usb hub and plan to get a couple more. It's well worth the cost to speed up the process from one-disc-at-a-time slowness. One caveat, each drive does require a full-power usb port, so a powered usb hub is a necessity.

I bought the Samsung external DVD burner/player a week ago (at about $40) for my ASUS netbook. I admitted (after a year of working around it) that I really wanted to watch DVD movies from Netflix on my netbook since I don't have a TV & I can't always borrow someone else's laptop.

Overall: Extremely easy-to-use and reliable DVD movie player for a netbook user

Pros:

+ Solid design; doesn't feel flimsy or easily breakable but is very light & very transportable/packable

+ Plug-and-play with no additional installation software required on Windows 7 Starter Edition

+ Uses 2 USB cords to ensure it's always fully powered

+ Works perfectly even with limited netbook processor (I use VLC Media Player for playing DVD movies)

Cons:

- Requires 2 USB sockets side-by-side or an extension cord for one of the cords

- Needs to be set on a flat surface and is much less forgiving about tilting than the old portable CD walkmans used to be

- Only burns DVD+ not DVD-

Limits of my use:

* I did not use the included software, which appeared to be for burning or playing DVDs/CDs

* I did not burn any DVDs or CDs

* Purchased 1 week ago - Dvd Writer - Dvd Drive - External Dvd Drive - Slim External Dvd Rw'

Component Video - adapter, vga cable

Before you buy this cable to hook up your PC with your TV please read the following:

In order for this cable to work, the markings on your TV must be RGB. You will have to look closely to read this or find it in your TV manual. If it is Pr,Y,Pb IT WILL NOT WORK. You will find these markings next to the red, green and blue connectors on the back of your TV. Remember, they must be marked R,G,B.

Regards. Premium 6ft VGA Male to 3-RCA Component Video Male cable

This worked amazing to hook up my projector to my DVD player. Much better picture quality than with the previous S-video cable.

This WILL NOT work to hook up your laptop to a Television. Do not even try.

Even though all these helpful reviews said "this won't allow you to plug your laptop into your TV," i thought that for sure my situation must be different. Don't fall into the same trap - This cable does not convert RGB video into a component signal.

If you need something for plugging your component into an RGB port in a projector, this is for you. And it's very well made.

I ordered this cable in the hopes of connecting my laptop to my 50" plasma TV. The cable arrived in good condition, and I believe it's a good-quality cable - it feels strong, but is still very flexible - but it didn't work for me.

In order to use this cable, the device with VGA out must be capable of sending a TV signal, sometimes called an RGB signal or a sync-on-green signal. Because this is a very specific type of signal, it's almost impossible to find out whether or not a certain device is capable of it. Basically, if it's designed for displaying on a TV, it's going to send the right signal, but most laptops have display ports for connecting to monitors, not TVs. For this price, however, it's probably worth buying the cable and testing it in your situation, instead of scouring the web and living in constant uncertainty.

Even after reading the various warnings submitted by others before buying this item, I decided to get it anyway. Most had alerted that the product wouldn't work for those who were trying to use the cable to link their TV with their computer. I was trying to connect a DVD player (component output) to a PC monitor (standard RGB HD-15). Should be no problem right? Wrong. The monitor doesn't recognize the connection. So, I just figured I'd return it. After all, it's Amazon. Well this particular product must be returned to the seller and the seller does not reimburse their shipping cost nor pay for the return shipping. Since the original shipping cost exceeds the product cost, it makes no financial sense to return the item. A cheap but important lesson for the future.

Excellent conversion cable. Some HD projectors/TVs accept the composite signal via connector that looks like a VGA one from a PC. This allows you to come out of the DVD player or other video source using 3 component plugs and go to the VGA style input on the projector. Works great.

I bought this, because I wanted to connect a new PC monitor to my dvd/vcr combo, so this would have been great, as it comes with the RCA on one end and the VGA on the other, but my monitor didn't recognize the VCR combo, and vise versa, the combo couldn't send the audio/video to the PC monitor.

This thing was not what I expected. It didn't work the way I expected it to. I have had other similiar products that were able to take the signal from my computer and output the to my tv. This didn't do that. I tried for hours fiddling with the graphic card atributes to get this to work and it just wouldn't do it. - Vga Cable - Adapter - Cables - Component Video'

Pant Straps - pant straps

I ordered these for my husband. They look just like the picture, but were much shorter then we expected. They didn't fit under his boots...he had to use it from his laces to the front of his jeans instead...just keep that in mind when you order...get the longest ones. Beyond that for the price it was a great deal. Motorcycle Boot Straps (Long 9 Inches, Black)

I ordered the skull clips, but settled for the black ones. After ordering, I learned the skulls were not in stock, eventhough Amazon had it listed as in stock. I contacted the seller and made the switch to black to get them in time for a ride. The seller made it right by rushing the shipping and knocking a little cost off for the mix-up.

These straps are the shortest ones and just fit the width of my shoe. They work great! Clips are strong and hold my pantleg down just as they are suppose to. I plan to order another pair, but will get the next length up to accomodate for different footwear or pants. Be sure to check with the seller, if possible about the stock. The clips litterally come on a slow boat from China and take months to get here.

Visor Beanie - visor, beanie

I recently came across these very same hats at a local mall this past Christmas. As an avid walker and hiker, even in the dead of winter I am always looking for something a little warmer and more comfortable with the least amount of effort to put on, or carry along. For years there was the traditional knit hat, or toque that was on my list as standard equipment both for walking and hiking. That is until I tried one of these on at the mall this past holiday season and decided that they have easily incorporated into the design of these the 3 essentials necessary for keeping warm and comfy while braving the winters savage elements. A knit toque for the head, an extended ear flap to take care of the ears, and a visor for the very obvious reasons as to why we very often need one. Quite simply put, I found these hats to be far more warm and comfy than the traditional toque for surviving the long winter here in New England. Most of all, I wish that I had located the hats here before buying a couple at the local mall. They are not only cheaper here than what I paid, but as of the time of this writing, ship for free through Amazon. If you spend a lot of time outside in winter and desire the ultimate in head gear as far as warmth and convenience in my opinion, invest in two or more of these and be done for life. They are warm, comfy, and at the price they are asking for them with free shipping, its like you are buying them tax free and at cost from your local store, and having them delivered to your house for free... Recommended. Knit Beanie Visor Hat - Scull Cap Style - Black

This hat is exactly what I needed. I don't like to carry umbrellas at work because I carry a tote and a purse. This is a great hands free way of keeping my face dry and the hat is nice and warm.

This is a very well made hat.

This cap is exactly what my husband wanted for the cold snowy winters of Chicago. He wanted an inexpensive knit cap with a visor that would keep his jacket hood from falling down over his eyes and without advertising a brand. This is doing the trick. Thank you!

WARNING: This seller selling "Irregular Hat". As the other 1 star reviewers noted, the cuff is only about 1/4" high above the visor, and looks ridiculous!!! Not as photo. This seller purchased cheap IRREGULAR merchandise and sell them. It should belong at dollar store sell at 2 for $1.

The hat arrived promptly, only four days after ordering it. It came in a Zip-Loc bag, and was in wearable condition straight out of the bag - it had no undesirable smell and was immaculately clean.

The hat itself is extremely comfortable - it is very easy to put on and stretchy. It fits even my abnormally large head comfortably without feeling tight. The visor is just the right size to serve its purpose without looking like a baseball cap. The cuff around the visor can be folded down to cover more of the head, though the hat already covers all fantastically. It is just warm enough to do the job, but not so warm that you'll be especially hot after an extended wearing. It also doesn't seem to cause as much hat-head as other hats do.

For the incredibly low price I got it at, this is an amazing product and I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who wants a reliable, high-quality winter hat.

This product is garbage.

As one other reviewer noted, the cuff is only about 1/4" high above the visor, and looks ridiculous. Not at all as pictured. Further, the hat is EXTREMELY tight (and I have a small head) from the forehead around back. This puts a lot of pressure on your head and mats your hair down unlike any other hat I've ever worn. Beyond that, ironically, it's loose and baggy on the top near the crown of the head, and looks like a sock (all folded over and saggy).

I understand it only costs a few bucks delivered, but is absolutely worthless. I simply cannot fathom the other reviews which say this is a good product. Mine went straight in the garbage.

Well, it's a knit cap. I think we've all seen at least one knit cap in our lives so there isn't much to report. I work in the field as an Appraiser and live in Texas so during our few weeks of winter (sorry, those of you in the frozen tundra of the North) I need something to protect my ears but think a standard knit cap provides too casual an appearance. I'm not quite old enough to get away with a fedora and not Texan enough to pull off a Stetson. Anyway, this visor cap fits the bill - warm ears but with a little more flare. It seems well made in that it hasn't fallen apart or turned my hair green, and the fabric is softer than the torture device called a watch cap which I had to wear in the Navy. As one reviewer wrote upon first putting it on two little horn-looking things appear on top but by moving it around a bit I'm able to smooth out the crown and it looks OK. The last thing I want to do is go into a store and start trying on caps, so ordering online is great and the price seemed like a deal to me. Amazon and little cap, my relatively warm ears thank you. Oh, it's black in color, not navy blue. - Visor Beanie - Visor - Beanie - Knit Caps'

Charging Cradle - dock, charging cradle

I ordered the Motorola Droid Multimedia Station on the Droid's release day because I thought it was a cool idea. I didn't see it in person until it was delivered to my door and the geek in me loves it!

PROS:

- Nice build quality

- Non-skid base

- Turns your Droid into an alarm clock and weather station

- Sync your data via USB cable

- Just plain cool looking

CONS:

- Will not work with cases

- Somewhat expensive

The box includes 4 items, the actual dock, a micro USB cable, an AC adapter, and a user guide. The dock itself is very well made and is quite hefty in weight. You won't be accidentally knocking this dock around from your desk especially since it also has a non-skid base. The dock has a micro USB port that you plug the cable into and then you plug the other end into the AC adapter. This of course, powers and charges your Droid, which is perfect for your nightstand. If you want to sync your Droid, just plug the micro USB cable into your PC. This will charge your Droid too, but at a much slower rate and only when your PC is powered on.

When you dock the Droid in, the orientation changes automatically to landscape. You select what city you want your weather widget to display and boing, you have your multimedia station. The dock has magnets located in specific areas to activate this mode, which I just found can be activated by using an app called "Dockrunner." It is available for download in the Marketplace.

It's a little pricey for what it does but it is cool nonetheless. An audio out or built-in stereo speakers would've been cool but no biggie! Motorola DROID Multimedia Docking Station [Retail Packaging]

I really wanted this for my Droid, and its good quality. When you place your Droid in this Charging Cradle/"Multimedia Station", it charges you battery and magnets activate a Multimedia mode on your phone, allowing you to brows photos, listen to music, and work with your alarm clock right on your nightstand. Not owning an iPod, I can't tell you how much I love having all mp3's and so forth available right next to my bed. This is a lovely product.

Pros and Cons:

1) The magnets override your lock feature, which may be a security issue for some.

2) The Droid won't fit in the cradle with any kind of body armor/silicone/hard plastic case attached around it. You'll have to take this off when you want to use the cradle.

3) The Multimedia mode has a built-in "dimmer" switch for night time use, but I personally find even that setting emits too much light in my room, and that makes me crazy. If you don't have an issue with things emitting light while you sleep, this is a non-issue for you.

4) The cord that comes with the cradle is the same as comes with the phone- its VERY short. I had to use a USB extension cable to get from an outlet to my nightstand.

I really like this though- the problems I have all me.

The droid multimedia station is a nice desk accessory, but it has its problems and don't buy it as a bedside alarm clock.

Pros:

1) Beautiful and compact

2) Easy to exit dock mode and access most other Smartphone functions.

Cons:

1) There is only one dimming level, which is still fairly bright in a dark room.

2) When the display is dimmed, there is little contrast between the numbers and the background, making the display hard to read. This

problem could be solved if the background and/or time coloring were customizable, but this is not the case.

3) When placing a call while the droid is in the dock, the in-call screen does not shift into landscape mode, making it difficult (but not impossible) to accesses the features such as the dial-pad and speaker button.

4) The buttons on the bottom of the screen stay illuminated, regardless of if the screen is dimmed or not.

5) It would be nice to change the widget buttons while in the multimedia dock mode. For example, I do not use the built-in android alarm clock (I use the app Math Alarm Clock), so I would like to have direct access to that application instead of the standard alarm.

6) Sometimes it takes a while for the weather to update. Importantly, the latest droid update mostly fixed this problem, giving me hope that other issues will be fixed in the future.

7) There is no audio jack to send music to speakers

8) Expensive (especially since you can make your own dock with multimedia mode easily)

For the money, you might expect a bit more than a weighted base (with magnet!) and a power adapter. I know I did. You can use software to go into the same mode as the dock for free, so YMMV.

I appreciate the design. It's heavy enough to not get knocked around too easily on my desk, and my wife keeps hers in the kitchen. It would work equally well as an alarm clock/night stand device. We got these with our 2 droids since it was a nice refined way to charge them and still get plenty of functionality (weather/time/music) at a visible angle.

Pros:

1. Well weighted with rubberized bottom keeps it from bouncing around easily

2. Designed nicely - Looks sharp. The Droid's audio is surprising clear in speaker mode for playing music (especially for such a small speaker), but a Bluetooth or corded headset (or speaker setup) would work here.

3. Nice angle for keeping an eye on the clock. I'm hoping Google improves the interface... the weather section is a bit small and doesn't give much info. A real-time radar with more info would be best and perhaps a smaller alarm clock with more configuration/personalization options for color, stock ticker, etc. would be great. But this doesn't affect my review of the dock.

4. Fits perfectly and makes it easy to remember where you left your phone. :-)

Cons:

1. I thought that the cable for USB/DC Converter was a bit short. It's the same as the one that came with the Droid. Nothing that can't be amended, but for $30 they couldn't throw in another meter?

2. It boils down to being a weighted/angled slot with charger/usb cable for $30. It probably amounts to $2 in materials if that. It would be expensive at $15.

3. It really doesn't deliver much. You can get everything but the pre-positioned angle without the doc, and the doc software needs improvement (not a slam on the dock itself, just pointing it out). Unless you're really using it as an alarm clock, It's difficult to see the point now that I have it. If you're watching movies on it as a sort of TV replacement, then maybe... yeah.

4. No cases allowed (it won't fit with them on).

In the end, it is well built and designed nicely. I think it should offer more for the money (maybe built in speakers?) but it is what it is, an overpriced accessory, and for what it's worth, usually overpriced accessories are built like junk, so this gets a 4. - Charging Cradle - Dock - Droid - Docking Station'

The weights came clean, new, and in great condition- the texture of the material is good for keeping a tight grip on the weight. The wait time for the delivery was short and I have no complaints. The price was okay. Valeo HW8 8-Pound Neoprene Hand Weights

I bought these weights to use with fitness games on my Kinect. I had the 5 pound set and decided it was time to upgrade to 8 pounds. I chose these because it comes as a pair of two weights. Looking around at reviews on this site, it seems some of the other brands on Amazon have unclear phrasing and come with a single weight even though they are almost as expensive as buying this set of two. The neoprene makes them comfortable to hold and they don't slip. The ends have a hexagon shape so they don't roll when you set them down. They are a good value for the price, and when it's time to upgrade to 10 pounds, I will definitely go with the same type.

I looked at similar weights at Dick's Sporting Goods and after sifting through about 12 pairs, went home empty-handed because each and every weight had a lot of dings and dents in the neoprene. I think it was from being hung on metal racks in the store. I got home and decided to try looking on Amazon. I ordered these 8 lb weights which turned out to be about $5 cheaper than the ones at Dick's, and they are awesome. I still can't get over the mint condition they are in. No scratches or tears. I wanted to start out with brand new weights (no dings) because I know that with neoprene weights a small tear can quickly become large and big chunks can rip off over time. Another very good feature about these weights is that there are small straight edges on each side of each circle which prevent them from rolling away. Also, the color red is lovely. Satisfactory purchase all around!

If you're looking for simple hand weights that don't slip in your hands (or on slippery floor surfaces) from sweat--then the Valeo is perfect. They have a good diameter for any hand size, thus allowing a great grip. I would have given them 5 stars if they were a little smaller.

excellent weights for focus toning and strenghtening. these 8 pound wonders provide a excellent work out tool. use the 8 pound and 5 pound weights for shoulder toning with multiple reps to increase endurance and strength.

I got these weights in august 2008, I wasn't expecting much. But after trying them for 1 year, the grep was firm, none slippery even if your hands get sweaty, the materiel never gets mushy, and because of there neoprene covering they were less traumatic :) I use them in my early morning exercise, and the are just perfect.

If your not into hard core wight lifting then they well be just what you need, I'd recommend them strongly.

I bought these weights for my sister-in-law as a Christmas gift. I was impressed by the value--it's a great product for a cheap price. The Neoprene is soft on your hands and provides a good grip. They're too heavy for me but I'm sure my sister-in-law is getting a fabulous work-out!

These are very nice little weights perfect for men or women searching for a convenient size for those shoulder exercises that require lighter amounts. Grip is thick with a good texture - easy to handle but not impossible to clean. It is not a shiny hard surface like some that tend to slip or get sticky neither is it a mushy texture like others that tend to get totally 'yuck' as they absorb sweat. The head section is not round so they do not role. Smart set for a very good price! - Weights - Fitness - Dumbbells - Weight Training'

A Study In Scarlet - analytical, detective

I love the Sherlock Holmes mysteries and have enjoyed many a bedtime story with the great sleuth, so it was with great anticipation that I purchased the Kindle version of this volume of short stories. I was sadly disappointed, though, to find that apparently the publishers did not understand the audience that buys short story collections; they did not bother to include something most basic and needful in an anthology - a table of contents. Without a table of contents the reader has no choice but to start at page one and hit "Next Page" hundreds of times to access stories further into the volume. This is a ridiculous oversight that completely ruins the experience of picking up a good collection of short stories and choosing a story to read at a whim based on the title. If one cannot see all of the titles in an included table of contents, then one is forced to start at the beginning and read them all chronologically. This may work in a novel, but it decidely does not work as a format for a collection of short stories. Please actually keep the reader in mind the next time that you publish a Kindle version of short stories. Include a table of contents. The Complete Sherlock Holmes: All 4 Novels and 56 Short Stories

In Sherlock Holmes, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle created one of the world's best known and (arguably) most fully realized literary characters. Since Doyle's death, there have been plenty of people writing knockoffs of his stories. But with rare exceptions (Nicholas Meyer comes to mind), most have not lived up to the high standards Doyle set in at least the best of his Holmes tales. This volume includes the complete canon of Doyle's original stories -- four novels and fifty-six short stories, from "A Study in Scarlet" to "His Last Bow." While there are a handful of cases that bore significantly on international affairs (e.g. "The Bruce-Partington Plans"), most of them are of interest simply because of that touch of the _outre_ that Holmes loved so much and that provided such stimulating material to the ideal reasoner. There are some clunkers in the canon, of course, but the vast majority of these stories -- especially the earliest ones -- are just brilliant. If you are reading them for the first time, I envy you; the sturdy Dr. John Watson is about to introduce you to a new world, a world of Victorian gaslight and Stradivarius violins, of hansom cabs and cries of "The game's afoot!"For in reading this volume you will find such classic tales as "The Red-Headed League" and "The Man With The Twisted Lip"; you will encounter the famous dog that did nothing in the night-time ("Silver Blaze") and several versions of Holmes's favorite maxim ("When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth"); and you will meet one of the most fascinating and memorable characters ever to spring from the printed page: Holmes himself.Perhaps most importantly, you will catch a glimpse of the world as an ideal reasoner might see it -- not as a grab-bag of random atomic facts in which our own role is negligible, but as a vast interconnected whole in which each part bears some necessary relation to the rest, and in which the reasoned pursuit of justice in all matters great and small is the business of each and every one of us.Incidentally, the twentieth-century philosopher who presented that vision most consistently and cogently is, to my own mind, Brand Blanshard, and any Holmes readers who are interested in philosophy may enjoy investigating Blanshard's works as well.

I loved reading these classic Sherlock Holmes stories. The writing still holds up! This is why they are making a new movie, staring Robert Downey, Jr. Because they're great mysteries by a great writer.

Linked table of contents and formatting looked and worked great on my Kindle and also on my iPod Touch.

I personally didn't find any typos or formatting errors (just some words are with the proper british spellings) and I enjoyed reading every single story in this collection.

A great read and an awesome value for under a dollar...

Thrilled recently to discover the excellent Jeremy Brett filmed episodes of Sherlock Holmes, I then took to reading the original stories and enjoyed virtually every one of them. There are a few plots which nearly duplicate other ones, but the 56 short stories and 4 novels comprise a stunning collection of fiction which evokes the atmosphere of late Victorian era England in a straightforward prose that grabs you instantly and makes you turn page after page and then read story after story. As you get further and further into the world Doyle created, you'll begin to hear the sounds of horse carriages, smell candles and gas lamps, and also, in the manner of Holmes, to begin to truly NOTICE the small details of life which may end up meaning far more than they seem to at first. Sherlock Holmes is one of the most intriguing characters in all of literature. You'll end up wishing you could've met him or, even better, followed him into the bowels of London or into the English countryside as he probes a mystery, running only on adrenalin. I also recommend Doyle's fine book of "Round The Fire" stories.

I discovered Sherlock Holmes via a couple of short stories in anthologies in the late 1950's, when I was in 7th grade. These whetted my appetite for more, so I was tickled to discover a copy of this book (in an earlier printing) at the house of a friend. I wish it had been available as a multi-volume edition -- this one was mighty hard to sneak under the covers for post-bedtime reading by flashlight. And it's highly unsuited for summertime use: it'll sink your canoe or cause your hammock to sag to ground level! Still, it's a good, reasonably priced, solidly bound, and well-printed volume that should be in the library of any lover of classic mystery stories. As for the stories themselves, they're not only THE best mysteries in the English language, but fun to read as a picture of life in the Victorian era. There are some clinkers, and some of the situations and characters are rather absurd (Doyle shares with most of his fellow-countrymen an ineptitude for writing convincing American English!), but in general I'm still amazed at Doyle's ingenuity and his convincing portrayal of life in many different sectors of society. This is one of the few favorite books from my childhood that I still enjoy -- not as an exercise in nostalgia but as a Good Read. - Arthur Conan Doyle - Detective - Critical Thinking - Analytical'

I am a fan of "then and now" books, having read excellent ones for Boston, Washington, DC, Chicago, and Philadelphia. When well done, they can provide the reader with a good sense of how a city has changed over time, what has been lost, what has been gained. St. Louis Then and Now does not do this. It focuses on a relatively small area of downtown St. Louis, with tight shots that preclude the reader from seeing the decay that has plagued my old home town for the past half century. Even worse, the author has a picture of the original Sportsmens Park, home of the St. Louis Cardinals and Browns baseball teams, but instead of showing a picture of the site where it used to be for the "now" portion, she presents a picture of Busch Stadium, located in a far different neighborhood. This is the only instance in the entire book where she does not follow her basic guideline of taking a shot from the same spot. Had she done so, the reader would have seen the ravaged neighborhood of North St. Louis. If she and her publisher wish to present an idealized, artificially upbeat set of images for St. Louis, then it should not be titled "then and now," and promise the reader a no-holds-barred look at the real city.

In addition, the author makes several silly factual mistakes about the city's biggest pride and joy, its baseball team. The Gashouse Gang of the 1930s was not the first Cardinals team to win a World Series, that was done in 1926. The Cardinals did not even compete in any World Series in the 1950s; as I was able to personally observe on many occasions, they were a pretty mediocre team throughout that decade. And Busch Stadium did not have its playing field purposely placed below ground level to escape the heat, but rather to allow fans easier access to both upper and lower decks. The playing field was ferociously hot in the steamy St. Louis summers. St. Louis Then and Now (Then & Now)

This book is well put together and provides a beautiful and informative look at the history of St. Louis. It sits on my coffee table and is a great conversation piece. I have bought this book for a few of my relatives and all of them would agree that this is a wonderful book. It is a must have for any St. Louis resident, yet it offers a unique look at St. Louis for anyone who wants to see how the city has changed over the years.

As a lifelong resident of St. Louis who was wary of going downtown except for Cardinals baseball games, I and many others like me are just now discovering what a historic gem our downtown truly is.

After picking up the "walking tour of downtown" book published by Charles Brennan a year or so ago, I began to appreciate the beautiful buildings that are being renovated for lofts and condos. Hungry to learn more, I found a brilliant web site called builtstlouis.net with synopses of many downtown structures. I highly recommend that site to anyone interested in the history of downtown St. Louis.

Finding that site simply made me more curious about downtown, so I turned to Amazon.com, and found this spectacular book that helps put things into perspective when comparing the way St. Louis was at the turn of the 20th century compared to how it appears today. Much of the grand history of St. Louis still exists, and I urge anyone wanting to know more to buy this book.

This book gave me hours of enjoyable entertainment. Born and raised in the St. Louis area, I found myself studying every detail in each contrasted photo. It's remarkable to see how much landscape can change throughout the years as new construction buries layer after layer of history. Great way to preserve what is so often forgotten in the modern world and to get a glimpse of a city's beginnings.

Having been born and raised around St. Louis, it was fascinating seeing sights I was accustomed to, as they were originally. The city has quite a rich, and diverse history, and it is well displayed in these photographs. The photos tell the story well, and there is not alot of text to hamper your viewing enjoyment. Not that reading is bad, but that is not what the book is about. The layout of the book seems to work very well. The pictures are a nice size, and suprisingly clear. I would have loved to see more pics of the Worlds Fair, but then it would lose the city flavour, so all in all I think it is a good balance. I would recommend the book to anyone that enjoys getting a feeling of what it was like to actually be there in those days, every history buffs dream!

Growing up in Saint Louis and having recently moved back, this has made me appreciate my city for what it once was and what it may become. This book is well put together and the research is obviously impeccable. It has no social agenda or views as many historical books do, but it just shows exactly what it says, "then and now". It was very enjoyable. The best gift I can give fellow St. Louisan's for any occasion.

This is a good book. It has pictures of about 70 locations in St.Louis then and now. Old pictures are from mid-19th century to mid-20th century. It would have been more interesting if a smaller period (may be a decade) in the past was selected and the pictures during that period were compared with now. Also, many of the new pictures are not taken at the same angle as the old ones, so some pictures don't give a good comparison. You can't adjust the old pictures, but the new ones could have been definitely adjusted. Historical narrations of some of the pictures are interesting, but more of that could have been added. All in all, a good book to be placed on the coffee table.

This book was purchased along with the dvd "Meet me in St. Louis." It is simply incredible. The actual before and after pictures are stunning. I highly recommend this book if you like St. Louis and it's great history!! - Now - Midwest - Missouri - History'

packaging tape - packaging tape

just a quickie review. I had doubts if this tape would work as well as the Scotch premium, but based on other Duck product reviews, I decided to give it a try, esp. with the great price value. I do a lot of EBAY shipping, and always use new cartons. This tape is easier to handle(being thicker) and actually sticks better. Very impressed! Duck Brand HP260 High Performance Grade Packaging Tape, 1.88" x 60 Yards, 3.1 Mil, Crystal Clear, 6-Pack + 2 Bonus Rolls (1067839)

We use a large quantity of Duck Brand High Performance packaging tape. Being a food distributor we have boxes that are refrigerated and frozen. This tape seals well in the cooler and freezer. Most other tapes do not fair well in below zero temperatures.

This is the best for the price I found so far. It is half the price of Scotch premium. It does the job pretty well. I don't say this is the strongest tape in the market but no need to apply two times even on postal boxes. I haven't noticed any smell like in the other review, maybe I got deferent batch.

I ship packages often, and needed a cost effective, easy to use, QUALITY product. This tape is PERFECT! It is the perfect thickness to handle without creasing on the packages, and once it sticks it is STUCK FOR GOOD. I always worried about other poor quality brands I had used in the past, because if I made a mistake I could sometimes just peel up my mistake and start over. If I could remove it, I wondered if others could remove it or if it stayed stuck tight for a UPS trip, which, rumor has it, CAN BE ROUGH ;)

I won't purchase anything else. Folks who are getting my packages say they arrive in GREAT shape, much better than in the past. If you have a need to ship and want your clients to be happy their packages stayed intact, this is your product!

NOTE, I also find because this tape is such good quality a little goes a LONG WAY, a little dab will do you. Instead of wrapping around the whole package to "make sure it stays shut" I now just do the seam on the bottom of the box and the seam on the top. It holds, NO PROBLEM, so I am using much less tape. GREAT PRODUCT, I will be using this Duck brand HP260 High performance grade packing tape from now on.

It's thick, Sticky, and sticks well even on on cold cardboard box's. I've used thinner tape that stuck just fine, but had issues with them not working well with tape dispensers. This tape does. It has a smell to it when you use it, sharp, reminds me of 100% silicone, or a very slight smell of vinegar. I don't find the smell objectionable.

Quick Review:

Pros: Great quality for the price. Thick and strong. Adhesive used really does stick to whatever your taping.

Cons: Adhesive has a strong smell so if you use it constantly, make sure you wear a face mask or you will get high off this stuff - smells like very weak paint thinner but too much of it will get you high. This is difficult to tear off by hand so either use a utility knife or scissors or those tape dispensers to cut off the ends.

Overall I would highly recommend this product. I looked around for the best bang for the buck and this was it. Cheap considering the quality and overall length you get out of it and the tape does not require "retaping" (when you place a tape down but add two or three more layers over it for reinforcement.) I found the thickness of one lawyer was strong enough.

I used to think that tape is tape until we had a company paid move and bought this tape. It is so much thicker and easier to handle. Instead of taping boxes 3 times, I was satisfied with once or twice. So you pay more, but you aren't using as much each time you tape. I love this tape and will continue to buy it if the price is right!

I bought a few rolls of other tape. That tape was thin, did not come off roll in one piece, fragments, so frustrating I threw out after this great tape came. It is easy to use, thick so it doesn't come off in pieces and sticks. Don't waste your time with another tape when this does the job. I also used it to frame-in my A/C unit in the window. This tape is pretty strong.

This is one of the better packing tapes I have used. It is one of the thicker tapes I have used, eliminating the need to add multiple layers. It is adequately sticky as well. With some tapes, I have to make an effort to go back over them, pressing it down, or it can release before the box has even shipped. This has not been the case with the HP260.

Given the price/performance characteristics, I anticipate purchasing more when this supply runs out. - Packaging Tape'
